Community regulation. It’d be nice to see active admins regulating the community. I think it will help to decrease fake venues (annoying, your house is not a venue) as well as to correct false brewery information. Example, I tried to log a beer from a brewery that is no longer in business. Correcting this information is against community guidelines, and the amount of incorrect ratings leads many to just follow suit with the previous tags. I think it would be nice to see little checks (sort of like verified Twitter) that validate a brewery’s information as admin certified for accuracy and completeness. I think accurate information is vital to success of not only nano/micro breweries but the community as a whole. I am an Untappd supporter and live and breathe beer; I hope my feedback helps. I would love to help, please contact me if you would like pro Bono support haha.

This helped me find a passion for beer. Before this app I used to be a very casual drinker with no real interest in beer as long as it got me drunk. Since finding untappd, thank you eric, I can keep track of what I have tried and love experiencing the minor nuances of almost any kind of beer, except sours still dislike those. For anybody who wants to keep a log of their thoughts on beer, or other alcoholic drinks I think, this app is a must have. Great for being able to recommend beer to friends and family. Honestly, this app is for anybody who drinks alcohol. There are so many other possibilities this app offers and it is so smooth and easy to use I am shocked, and always recommend, when I find out people dont have it.

Four years into using it. I love trying new beers. This helps me keep track of it. Four years, several dozen breweries, and a dozen beerfests later....it takes some practice to figure out how to access it online but worth learning. App works smooth. My only suggestions for improvement are a “top 10” list button (I get asked for that a lot.) And if a badge correlates to a blog post, I wish there was a link on the badge to that post. But those are minor improvements. I’m still confused over the “serving style” option and if that correlates with packaging style but oh well. Love that my home brew can be in here too. Love that I can show up in a new city and find a local brewery really easily. Love that I get updates when some of my local breweries have new beers (and wish more participated.)

Getting Old & Tired. I have enjoyed this app for more than 10 years (and been a paid subscriber for all of those years), but they have stopped caring about staying current and staying useable. The “discover” map they provide is frequently missing existing breweries, but often lists breweries that have been permanently closed - sometimes for years, not months; and there is no way for a user to submit an edit. The app fails in many ways - for example, each check-in lists frequent locations, but it never updates (so, most recent is really just closest). Badges are not updated - nothing new for check-in numbers - for years. Seems like they lost the energy when they sold to big brewing … Update: they only take feedback on the app through Apple Mail - seriously? No way to communicate unless that is one’s primary email app. Dumb.

New Update Won’t Post Photo to Facebook - Uses Label Image Instead. Posted this review almost a week ago, and I’ve also contacted support twice. No response whatsoever, but I have noticed that the developer is responding to recent positive app reviews. This is very disappointing as they should be responding to people who have been using the app for years and are now having issues with it. My original response from last week is below. —————- Been using this app consistently for over six years (2,400 check-ins). After most updates, something with the posting to Facebook breaks, and it no longer posts the specific photo that I took of the beer. Instead, it posts a general image of the beer/brewery. I submitted this to Untappd, but have not heard back. I’ve logged out and have reconnected the apps to no avail. Interestingly, my photos still post to Twitter correctly.

It is addictive!. If you love beer and have friends that love beer, this is the perfect app. My only complaint, is that being a competitive person, my waist is having an enlargement issue. Agree with the proffered response. Agree 100%. 2 beers from 2K. For the most part those 2K have been in six packs. It’s a lot of beer. Worth every drop. My spouse has remained supportive through the inches gained and lost and the never ending search. Getting older and slowing down, but still enjoying the hunt. If this app had been out 40 years ago, that would have made life so much more fun! It has made the exploration an adventure with some well excepted guidance and direction. Will love this until the last…beer.

This Girl Scout likes earning badges. If you like to try different beers but can’t always remember what you’ve had or if you like it (think beer festivals), then this is the app for you! If you are Type A and need to complete goals, this is also the app for you. The app is easy to use, and it’s easy to add a beer if it isn’t listed, such as a new brew coming from a micro-brewery or local Tap house. They use badges as a way to show you’ve tried something once, leveled up for doing something consistently, or had a beer on specific holidays. It also rewards you for drinking the standard American beers (and a Bud Platinum). They give badges for drinking local beers, buying from local vendors versus just going to the grocery store, and also staying at home. Just plain fun!

You’re Fired!!. Love this app!! As a small business owner this app is invaluable. I have long suspected several of my employees of drinking too much on work nights. I've approached these employees in the past and they've been quick to deny my accusations, adding that, even if this was the case, their on the job performance has not been impacted (which is true but not the point!). UnTapped gave me the hard evidence to fire these employees. Firing these people has added a burden to my business, especially during this busy holiday season, but I will persevere. A side benefit of Untapped is that seeing the expensive beers that my employees are posting with their checkins has confirmed that I am paying some employees way too much. Untapped gave me the ammo to decrease these employees' salaries. Thanks Untapped, that's more $$$ saved for my business. As the ultimate testament to the app, I am going to make Untapped mandatory for all employees starting in 2021. Any drinks not logged in the app will be a fireable offense. No longer will I be the sucker.

Best beer app, suggested advancement. Love this app for recording my beers and seeing others’ ratings and ideas for beers to try. What i would love to see added are more search filter options, especially 2 main areas: (1) ability to select a different area to perform available beer and “nearby” check ins (not just where i am located); (2) ability to select only beers that are currently available in my area when doing a beer search (instead of having to dig down into each found result to see if it’s even within 75 miles of me). A distant 3rd desired upgrade would be to search for beers by style instead of name as primary criteria.

Such a great app, still room for improvement. Great App! I use it all the time. Nearly perfect, but could better with some improved or new features: 1) Wish it was easier to find a specific beer in my area. Most times, there’s ‘no results’ within 30-50 miles of my area. Maybe this is due to lack of people entering where they purchased it when checking in. Maybe more people would enter where they purchased it if they got some AWARD or BADGE(S) for doing so. This would entice people to do it and overall, would benefit everyone (even in po-dunk Midwest) where it’s hard to find many non-mainstream beers. 2) When checking in Cans and Bottles, let users add the a. Price they purchased it for, b. The number of beers, and c. Unit measure per container (e.g. fl oz). It would be nice to get an average of this to get a sense of How much a particular beer costs. 3) With the metrics available in (2), add a new feature to calculate VALUE! Price, quantity, ABV and global rating should be a part of the value calculation. As example, see app in IOS store called “DRINK CHEAP”. This helps calculate a relative value, but also includes ABV into the calculation.

Two things I LOVE, beer and Untappd!. I love Untappd. I love being able to see what restaurants and bars have on tap no matter if I’m looking at my local spot or just planning for an upcoming trip to a different city. I love opening Untappd and learning more about a brewery, beer, style, and being able to find it near me. I love being able to open Untappd and see if my friends have tried a beer and if it’s something they’d recommend. Also, since reviewing/rating beers is easy, I love being able to quickly recall the last time I had a particular beer and if it was something I should revisit or forget. See a new beer on a menu and wonder if I’ll like it? Just pull it up and see if my good friend Aaron liked it or not. Chances are if he loved it, I will too. We have similar tastes in beer and Untappd is THE leading app for beer lovers. Give it a go, and cheers!

Quality control improvement needed. This would have been a higher review (and I would be happy to re-rate), but recent experience has had its effect. Per features of the app, I recently added a selection for Check-in when a particular release from a given brewery did not appear on the lists. Some anonymous editor with the app changed my Check-in (in my profile) without notification, substituting a different (albeit similar) release from the same brewer eliminating al reference in the app and in my Check-in to the correct item. Changing another person’s post without serious cause would be bizarre and invasive in any circumstances, but for an app dedicated to varieties of craft brew, simply erasing information about an unfamiliar craft variety without inquiry or explanation is beyond understanding

My beer encyclopedia. Been on this platform for several years now. I don’t use it to actually rate beers (unless they’re really bad), but it’s a great tool just to track my beers. After all, after a lifetime drinking beer, (I’m 70) I simply don’t remember every one of the thousands I’ve sampled. So when I go to a new venue that has multiple IPA’s (my go-to), it’s handy to pull up Untappd to see what I’ve had and what’s new. And as I travel around the country it’s also great to track all the breweries that are cropping up in every city and village. My only complaint with the app is that badges max out at level 100. Maybe I just drink too much beer. Naw, they can’t be right. IYKYK. Thanks for this great tool.

It’s fun! And liking the new features.. In the beginning, it took me a while to get into this app. I didn’t get the point. I don’t think anyone would ever classify me as a “beer geek” and I can’t exactly handle more than a couple beers in a given day (albeit the latest “session” beer offerings are delicious and confess I do take advantage of that!) It was on my phone for a good 6 months before I started “checking in” my drinks. Fast forward several years and I love it! It’s great to discover that have or have not imbibed particular one and what I thought of it in the past and compare that to what I think of it now. One of the new features I really like is it’s easy to find out what my friends thought of a particular beer, in addition to the whole untappd world. It’s great that I can see what “my local” is offering even when I’m still 25 miles away trying to get out of the office. As the app designers added new features its stability experienced ups and downs. Lately, they are all ups and continue even farther upward! (Keep up the good work!) Anyway, if you like trying new venues and new beers, or are curious what the beer world is excited about, you’ll love this app! I highly recommend.

So… how much am I spending on beer?. I can’t believe anyone who give this app an actual stern or negative review. It’s a fantastic way for individuals that are a few steps away from an intervention to make friends with beer as a commonality, and it also roughly calculates the number of either “unique” or overall check-in’s, or IOW, how much $$$ you’re stealing from your kid’s trust fund for every check-in. ;) Location services, bottom line review of beers and venue glimpse are awesome and the badges earned are what make me keep playing the game. Love the app and I pay the additional $5 per month for additional savings on “untapped perks” and more granular rating levels as well. 5 star review all day.

Needs more editability. Overall a good app. I don't like that you can't add a photo once you've posted a check-in, and once a score is posted, if it shows up incorrectly, there is no changing or editing it. Addendum: I was mistaken, this app does offer the ability to add a photo, or change your rating. You have to open that post then tap the gear symbol that looks like it would be for settings to me. I do still wish there was flexibility in adding a date for the post, as it shows up for the day posted, when you might have had the beer a day or two earlier. Props (or a toast) to the Untappd's CTO, Greg, who personally responded to my review to clarify, though I found the features shortly after posting my review. That level of effort is appreciated. Overall, one of my favorite apps!

Awesome Way to Learn and Enjoy Beer!. I love this app. It’s a great way to see new beers, stay up to date with local watering holes’ selections (as long as they update periodically) and see what my friends are drinking. Good for casual and those “hardcore” aficionado drinkers. You can take pictures of your drink, rate it from 0-5, say how it was served, where you bought it from and even where you’re drinking it at. If your friend is nearby you can get notifications and pay a surprise visit! Two major downsides: 1. If you want to know what your favorite bar/brewery/establishment has you need to hope they have updated the app recently (such as that day). 2. The direct messaging function is hidden and unless you really search around you friend’s profile you may miss out. Yes, you could always text them, but maybe you just met a new coworker and never got their phone number, the app is a nice way to reach out and ask if they want to meet up for a drink. Maybe even create a new friendship. All in all, it’s a wonderful app, give it a try!

Beer Nerds Rejoice. I have used Untappd for a long time now, and as rapidly as the beer market keeps growing, it keeps improving. I’m always on the hunt for new beers and new breweries, and it feels rewarding being able to earn a badge for each new place I try. I was always adventurous anyway, but even then, it’s really encouraged me to expand my horizons. You earn badges for certain things, like how many of a certain style of beer you’ve had, or if you check in on holidays or at certain venues. This gives you bragging rights that you can lord over your friends at the local watering hole, and backs up your “I’ve had that, but have you tried THIS” arguments. It also helps you remember if you’ve tried something or not, and with the rating system, it tells your future self whether your past self approved of a beer or not. Trust me, that comes in handy. My favorite feature would probably be the beer locator. If you just had the best beer of your life and want to know where you can find more, or you’re searching for a rare gem that your friends have told you about and you gotta have, or even if you just want to know where you can find your favorite trash beer, you just look it up and see where it’s at near you. Genius. It’s one of my favorite apps, hands down. Try it out for yourself, and if you’re not satisfied, we’ll give you your money back*. *disclaimer- It’s a free app, and I don’t work for these people. But it rocks, so just try it.

Possible bug re: green check mark. A friend of mine pointed out to me that occasionally when she searches for beers, the green checkmark that you’d normally see for beers that one has had before randomly appeared on beers that she didn’t have before. I tried it on a beer she had just checked in, and the same thing happened to me. When you ‘click/touch’ the beer to start the check-in process, it showed that I hadn’t checked it in before. I’ve tried this search for random beers, and most of the time the green checkmark for beers I haven’t had before doesn’t come up. Not sure if this is a new feature or a bug. Might want to look into this. In the meantime, keep up the great work! I love your app nonetheless

Has Great Potential. The thing I like about this app is that one can write in depth reviews. As someone who enjoys craft beer - and takes that seriously - I like the potential for bonding with other craft beer lovers. The key word being “potential”. The thing that I strongly dislike about Untappd is how difficult it is to find other users, both present and future. I find a lot of frustration with the interface. Compared to Twitter or Facebook Untappd’s user interface strongly lacks “user friendly” features. They have all of the right categories but finding them and using them and going back and forth between them can be annoying - sometimes to the point that I give up and close the program and either start over or just move on. Overall I enjoy Untappd and recommend it to everyone. With some minor tweaks it could rival the big boy Social Media apps.

8 Years. The app is a nice way to remember how well I liked particular beers from the past or to find new beers and breweries. I’ve referred to it as my extended memory. After nearly eight years of using the app, I’ve seen the good, the bad and the u..., oh wait! There is no ugly. It’s mostly good and I have recommended it to many friends over the years. The only part I’m not a fan of is the revisions. Revisions used to come with great updates and improved features, even intuitive at times. They eventually changed to revisions that removed the great working features and added things that didn’t seem to make any difference, which is unfortunate. If the revisions would keep the great and improved the good, the app would be in a class of its own.

What a fun app!. What’s better than sampling beer from around your hometown or even around the country? Adding in a gaming factor! That’s right folks untapped is my new favorite drinking game. I get to log my likes and dislikes and collect badges and rewards along the way. I love trying new craft beers and I make a point to do so in any location that I visit. With this app I can go back in time, that’s right I’m a time traveler, and see what I’ve tried before and avoid the flops and reorder my faves. Maybe I’m just a dork or more likely a narcissist, but I love it when I check-in at a venue and my name pops up on the screen behind the bar. It feels like I’m a part of the action and contributing to the vibe. What more can you ask for from a free app that supports your drinking habit with no judgement!

Can’t stump it!. This is a great app, for enthusiasts, or people like me who just can’t remember all the great beers that they’ve tried in which one was which. I have been literally all over the world, sampling new beers from everywhere, and have not found a beer that is not part of the database in this app. I also like that it will let you annotate where it was that you drink the beer, that way you can go back to your favorite restaurant or pub. There’s also a neat way to reach out and connect with friends so you can see where they’re going and what they’re drinking and what their ratings were. The one thing I think could be improved, it’s just the overall usability of it.I don’t find the app very intuitive. In my mind, it is just difficult to navigate.

Great for tracking beer… and so much more!. At its core, Untappd is great for keeping track of what beer you drink. But it has so many additional features - too many to list here. I love being able to check global ratings before buying beer. I love the social aspect of seeing what my friends are imbibing. I’m also able to keep a personal inventory of what’s in my own stash, using the list function. Then there’s all the amazing analytics that the nerd in me loves. I’ve also used it for the mapping feature before going on a trip and wanting to find new places on my route. Honestly, there’s even more I use Untappd for… but let’s just summarize by saying it’s just a phenomenal app.

A beer enthusiast must. This app started as a social network that I could see what my friends are drinking. Once you get into though it is a great tool for the beer enthusiast. You can find new Breweries and bars in any area of the Country. I can make a shopping list before going to the store for beer. I can see the top rated beers in my area and figure out were to find them. If you are at a verified venue the beer list on Untappd is updated before the menu. You can also sort by the top rated beers to help figure out what to drink. I have been on the app for about 6 years and drank a lot of great beers in that time. Without the app you are just buying a beer and hoping you like it, but with it I am drinking beers I love most of the time.

Experience. My wife and I have enjoyed doing flights of beers at breweries because we get to have the fun of putting it into our app. It also helps keep track of what beers I did like and I did not like. We do not drink much and hence our numbers are low. But it is still nice to keep track of what we have had and have enjoyed. Also it is good to recommend to me because I might like. Where to find them. How to get them. Where the festivals are. What my friend might suggest to me and I to them. It is fantastic for going into a store and checking its rating before buying it. I find it extremely useful, I do not purchase a beer before scanning it to check its rating level. When I find something that’s a three, I skip over it and go to something I find that’s a four. It is helped save me time and money and narrow down beers that I actually like.

It’s like merit badges, social networking, and beer all combined!. I enjoy this app for several reasons: 1) I like getting as many badges as possible, so I’m encouraged to try new and different beers! 2) While enjoying new brews, the act of rating has me slow down and think about the beers 3) It provides a venue to fine breweries and see other new good beers! 4) Keeping a lot of what I thought allows me to remember the beers I want to have again. It’s a well polished app, I’ve had no crashes or glitches. Great use of using the camera to scan the barcode, easy on the data usage also. The only thing I wish is an ability to log a beer offline and then upload it once I’m back in data/WiFi range like when traveling overseas or on a flight.

Buggy, but good beer tracker. This app is great if you want keep track of the unique beers you had so you don’t drink any bad one twice. Nice ability to add pictures as well. If you get your buddies to use it, you can share you experiences. That said, as apps go, this one is fairly poorly written and got worse over the years - a lot of bugs: it will lose your check-in even if you just go to the home screen. The location service is terrible - never finds the correct location, you cannot enter a venue manually and it asks you to pay for an account, because you’re allegedly too far away even if you are sitting right in the bar. The search is very unforgiving, which makes it often hard to find the right beer.

Fantastic!. I’ve been enjoying this app and community for years...I find that it’s a great way to discover beers from all over the world. Plus, it’s very helpful keeping track of what you’ve enjoyed through your beer journey. It’s by far the most enjoyable and entertaining beer app I’ve had the opportunity to use. As a home-brewer, there are many to choose from. They are super helpful. BeerSmith being the best. Mr. Malty is excellent! But, this is my go to “I love beer “ place. I’d say to you that if you love beer and want to keep up with what you’ve taken in then use this app and it’s many features. Get in here and enjoy! It literally changed the way I’ve enjoyed beer/beverages. Many challenges and achievements are ready for your travels! Cheers

Good clean fun!. This app isn’t just a beer app, it’s a community, it’s friendship, it’s a way to find new beers other people have tried in the stores around you. No, it’s not just a beer app. This the THE beer app for people who love this historical fermented beverage and want to discover something new. Find like minded beer drinkers and thrust yourself into alpha status as you join a community that could change you’re life. If you don’t download this app, you’re either not a beer lover or you’re just a plebeian. No, I’m not sponsored. I have used this app for almost a decade and thought it was worthy of finally reviewing the only online social hub that doesn’t have a toxic community outside of the computer building forums! Those people are great too!

Untappd. First of all, I deleted the canned review. I use this app almost daily. I check the local stores and brewpubs to see what they have on tap. Most of them are updated daily. It’s great to have a record of the beers I have tried do that I can go back and see how I rated something. I always try to have something different when I go to a brewpub and with this app I can keep track of what I have already had. You can also see what friends are trying and if they liked it. The wish list is nice if there is something you really want to have but it is hard to get. The app will tell you when it is at a nearby venue. You can also have the app alert you when a new beer is added to your favorite venues on tap list. If you are a craft beer lover, get Untappd. Cheers and Prost!

Continues to Be Exceptional. A must-have app for beer lovers. Use it all the time to find good new brews in the area. Excellent for finding venues while traveling and the ‘Verified Venue’ option is terrific to see what’s new no matter where you’re at. Ratings are trustworthy as users know their stuff. The company is fantastic too. Really on top of things, friendly and innovative. Hard to provide enough praise. Even with a few issues, the Founders take great pride in their app and it shows. The continuous improvements and dedication to their users is excellent. Hope more will use the menu reporting options for Verified Venues to continue to improve accuracy and accountability which Untappd clearly desires. Consider offering your Support.

Balanced App for Balanced Brews. I’ve been using the app for a few years now after my co-worker introduced me. The app itself is a really fluid platform with an user-friendly UI that relays information effectively. It’s a nice balance between a review driven site and an explorative experience. My favorite features include seeing what my local beer store gets in stock, discovering hop profiles for brews I'm interested in, and the photography. Documenting the places and experiences I’ve had while trying new beer with my friends has been the captivating feature that keeps me checking in. The app delivers a practical function in a fun and meaningful way. Cheers! -RC

Love craft beer? Gotta get Untapped!!. Untapped is the perfect beer log. I love checking into the beers that I drink. It’s really helpful when I visit a different area to see what breweries are nearby or what venues that serve craft beer. I enjoy seeing what my friends on untapped are drinking to see what’s available. I check in all the time to keep track of how many times I drink. I also love the numerous amount of badges you can get. The badges can be from different styles of beers, to venues, to even the time of day or even a special holiday or event badge. So always make sure to check in. I’m hitting myself over the head over the fact that I was in Germany for a long period of time and never checked in enough to earn the “Das Boot” badge. I just kept forgetting to check in while there. It just gives me another reason to go back! For any craft beer lover this is a complete must have!

Outstanding!. Before finding out about Untappd, I think it fair to say that I wasn’t even a casual beer drinker. The handful of beers I’d had to that pinpoint, with only a couple of exceptions, were terrible. It didn’t help that my state of Alabama put serious restrictions on what we could buy here. Once the restrictions were removed and craft beer became a reality, I went from too few choices to too many, and I had no sensei to help me along the journey. Until Untappd. Now I had an app that could help me make choices based on what beers I tried and how I rated them. Once I’d begun to add Friends, many of which were far more knowledgeable of beers than I was, I could tap their experiences by reading their ratings and tasting notes (Pro Tip: please always leave tasting notes! Ratings are helpful, but tell us why you left whatever rating you did). When you’re traveling, you can search for local venues and check out their offerings. And you might just be able to find that Unicorn beer out there with the help of this app.

Best Beer App. I’ve been using this app for most of three years now, and I can say as an avid beer enthusiast it is a must have. I love craft beer in particular and I enjoy trying new and different brews. This app is a great resource for knowing what you’ve had before, what you’ve liked from a brewery, and remembering great times at a favorite establishment. I was in Ireland and Germany last spring and it is fun to reflect back on the great beer I had there. Overall the performance of the app has never let me down and it’s only the rare occasion that you cannot find a beer on the app. In that case you get to create the beer’s official page, which is always a fun milestone. The badges are a fun add on. Outstanding Untapped, keep it up as the Best Beer App!

Best App. Four years now - that is how long I’ve been using this app and it has been a wonderful experience ! I was fortunate enough to try my first “REAL” IPA about five years ago and ever since then it has been so much fun to try so many different kinds and really allow my palate to grow, as well as quickly finding out what I don’t like 😂 (which is important!) Untapped allows us avid beer drinkers to come together and share our love for beers of all brands and flavors; and not only that but to also befriend people on here and be able to discuss our similar, but also different tastes. I am in a beer group with probably some of the most amazing people that I have been fortunate enough to meet since I moved to the south, and they have been gracious enough to show me the ropes on many many different styles of IPAs and stouts, etc.… I really can't think of a better hobby then this one because not only are the beers delicious and complex, but the friends you make along the way is what it's all about. Beer tasting is really a wonderful experience, and Untappd is the catalyst that really just brings everyone together for that one love: beer 🍺. Stay awesome Untappd - keep growing; and to those out there who are just getting started - try everything once and share what you know without others who don't - cheers !!!!

One of my most used apps, but being pressured to shop. I use this app multiple times a week for years and love it, but now on the main Discover screen, the Shop is right in the center of the screen, below Map and above Nearby Venues and Upcoming Events. What a terrible place for the Shop to be located. I never plan on purchasing any merchandise and I use Nearby Venues all the time, so Shop should not be in the dead center of the screen. What’s more, the Shop section is twice the height of he other more useful sections. Who’s bad idea was that? Untappd must be desperate to sell merch. Shop should be at the bottom, below Map, Venues and Events…..and smaller. This is really user hostile, putting shopping in a large prominent location and demoting more useful sections of the app. Needs to be fixed!!!

Essential for Cerevisaphiles. This app does everything an admirer of the brewer’s art could desire: form groups to post evaluations, complete with your photos, and discussions of beers from its stupendous, mind-bogglingly comprehensive data base of beers & breweries from all over the world; locate venues & ascertain what they have on tap; track evaluations of beers by other users if Untappd; receive notifications when a venue adds a beer to its menu; locate a venue using its map function, etc. I could go on & on about what this app offers, but I’m sure you get the point: if you enjoy beer, by which I mean not only beer but ale, stout, porter, cider, sours, etc, as well, this app is essential and, equally importantly, a lot of fun.

Finally! A way to track my consump... eh, my beer!. I seldom drink the same beer twice (unless I’m forced into buying a 4-pack in lieu of singles) and had been saving a bottle/can of most everything I’ve tried in the last 5 years. As a result, my garage has nearly 650 bottles/cans stored on shelves built in between the empty bays between the studs. I get a lot of compliments from passerby, and it’s a great conversation starter. However, I can’t take it with me, and I can no longer remember all 650+ of what I’ve tried. Untappd has solved that for me. But, much to my wife’s chagrin, I still bring bottles/cans back with me from every trip (9 cans and a bomber after 4 days in TX this past weekend) and the Suds Shrine continues to grow. Thank You Untappd for creating such a great resource for those who enjoy reminiscing about their passion for trying new beers.

It’s just a fun thing, tracking your beers.... Signed up because my brother and a couple of friends were on. Over time I met people in far off lands (Berlin, Baltimore, Issaquah, Mebane, Kyoto, Portsmouth,... the list goes on) who were also beer fans and we had some smiles exchanging beer stories. Meeting someone on Untappd in a brewery or bar in a new or familiar place gave us something in common: a shared experience — something to talk about and to break the ice — cultural and language barriers fall when you share a love of beer, an Untappd facilitates that. I quickly developed a discipline: always a good, sharp, saturated/exaggerated photo (indulging my inner photographer) and always a few words about the beer and where/why I had it. Sometimes a story, sometimes not. Most Importantly: check each beer in EXACTLY ONCE. This isn’t about how MUCH I drink but WHAT I have tried. Very rarely a 5 because 5-star beers are rare. If it’s no good, de-saturate the color in the picture. This app is what you make of it. I enjoy it, YMMV. Peace out.

Lacks one thing…. When I got my first smartphone, this was the first app I downloaded. At the time, I had plenty of friends who used it. Now, not so much but my husband and I still use it. We compare the badges we each have. A lot. So many craft breweries are verified/hooked up with it now, which means the menus are updated more often. I also have two wish lists going: one for beers in the USA where I live, and the other for the UK where I used to live and now visit often. I love that this app is global! What stops me giving it a full five stars? I wish there was the ability to see at a glance the breweries we’ve visited. Maybe have them appear as a different color on the map. This is a feature on the NY Craft Beer app (I live in NY). With so many breweries opening, I can differentiate. In an area and limited for time? How about we try somewhere new instead of one we may have visited previously?

My favorite app. I enjoyed using Untappd so much that I became a sponsor 2 years ago. It’s invaluable when standing in a beer aisle trying to find a new beer to buy. The ratings are a bit arbitrary based on individual’s tastes and rules and how they grade but I found anything with a 4 or higher is pretty accurate. I’ve also use the archive of my beers to find one I had moons ago. A serious beer drinker is lost without this app. It’s fun and a way to stay in touch with beer drinking friends who live far away. It’s a social, money saving app. The badges are fun too. It works internationally and I’ve used it in Europe for years as well. Become a patron and support the app!

Cheers. To an app that lets you rate your alcoholic beverages! 0-5 stars with 1/4 star increments so that you can remember if you like the beverage and just how much. Leave when and where you had it data, the type of drink like was it a can, bottle, draft etc and you get to write in anything you want in an open text area. Who you were with, time of day, whatever you want. So next time you come across a drink and you’ll know whether you want to have another one. This app does it all. Try it out for yourself. Lots of drinks out there and they have it available to enter it with a picture too. Earn badges and awards as you drink your way to the top.

3.75 out of 5. Good platform for sourcing & socializing. Intuitive & relatively engaging…and if you can’t find solid beers that fit your style here you’re doing something wrong. Solid fit for my objective of identifying new items to try and logging assessments of what I’ve sampled- so basically continual refinement of my personal beer preferences & ambitions. Being able to share the experiences of fellow craft beer fans adds another dimension to this value, and whimsical flare like badges and events adds fun ambience. I will note that the platform does not facilitate true whale hunting - as everything you can source has to appear on a registered venue’s most updated menu…and so there’s very limited c2c exchange opportunity. I’ll also add that the fairly recent pay to play “premium” access to provide ratings at more granular increments is a misstep. Completely understand that revenue has to be prioritized…but compromising the statistical integrity of your greatest value proposition - statistically relevant beer ratings- was an unwise source to tap. What’s done is done; but now the ballots are skewed towards the often questionable motives of the professional or quasi-pro social media personalities.

MOST IMPORTANT APP ON YOUR PHONE!. I love everything that this app offers. My most favorite thing is being able to scan the barcodes of the beer and getting to see all the info on those beers, along with seeing if my friends like the beer or not. Helps me make better decisions. Checking into places, rating your beer, and tagging in your friends is great. Getting badges for all the different beer types and stuff is a fun feature, and automatically saving your beer history is wonderful. Taking pictures of your beer is funny if you really think about it, and I do it for every beer, lol. Lastly, getting an updated list of what beers are available at your favorite store, bar, and brewery is awesome. The app is all-around good!

Needs an update, but I love the app.. Without going extremely into detail, this app is amazing and I absolutely love that a database like this exists to help me on my journey to trying new and delicious beers. I also very much love the social media aspect to it and my ability to cheers my friends and see what they are having these days. It’s a very useful app I find myself using quite often. HOWEVER, it really needs an update. I have had this app for probably 3 years now, and it hasn’t changed. The reason I think it could use an update is because the app itself feels slightly outdated. It is glitchy sometimes when uploading photos or navigating through. One thing hat especially annoys me is how to difficult it is to find where you add friends or even view your existing ones. To truly take this app to the next level, it’s developers should redesign the app to flow more smoothly and have less bugs and freezes.

Great way to keep a beer diary and look up new beers. This app is handy for quickly looking up a beer before buying or ordering to get the details and see what others thought about it, as well as to keep up with beers you've tried. There's an endless assortment of badges to earn that makes it satisfying to keep checking in everytime you have a beer. What you're drinking, where you're drinking, even when you're drinking all seems to factor into winning badges. The social aspects of this app are alright, but I wish this app had some form of integration with the vibrant craft beer community on Google+. You can tweet or share to Facebook from this app, but Facebook is like the Bud Light of social networking.

Really cool app, a little misguided. Full disclosure I don’t use Untappd that much, and I imagine not for its intended use. But certain changes could rope me in- I like keeping track of what I’ve had and keeping notes. That’s how I use my check-ins, as a kind of beer journal. Untappd is great for this because everything under the sun is listed and it’s easy to find more info, other beers from the brewery, etc. the downsides are 1- the character limit on comments, I’d like to be able to describe my experience in detail and there generally isn’t enough space for that. 2- sometimes I want to take notes that I don’t necessarily want to be public, and I don’t think there is a way to do this. The badges are kind of fun. Its cool that there’s ways to find beers in your area but honestly it hasn’t worked well for me so I don’t really use it. And while it can be kind of fun to see what friends and others are drinking it’s definitely not my focus when using the app.

My family’s go-to social media app. Untappd has become the favorite social app in my family. When we all get together, we buy tons of new beers to sample, discuss, and log. We create locations that we all check into using Swarm. When we’re apart, we’re constantly recommending beers and venues to one another. It’s really been a way for us to use our love of craft brews to keep in touch and interact with each other even though we’re spread across the country. On a less sentimental, yet equally important note, Untappd has helped me gain a better understanding of which styles, regions, and breweries I really enjoy. It’s made it easier for me to keep tabs on when beers I love or have been wanting to try hit venues near me, and has also made it so much easier to recommend things to my friends and family.

Boozy records. Great tool for keeping a record of one’s trip through the that fantasy world of wonder and delight that is the global scene. Where to get it what to get & when one got it, all info which one risks losing in the haze of a session👍

Great for keeping track of beer. Great for keeping track of beer and ratings. The badges are fun too! And the app is a little bit clunky but good once you work out how to navigate it.

Awesome. Great to keep track of which beers you have tried. I also enjoy seeing what my friends all over Australia thought of different beers.

A beer lovers dairy. If you like trying new beers and like to keep track of which ones you have had and can be bothered writing something about each beer this is for you

Track and trace.... Brilliant way to track your tasting journey and trace your steps from the previous session if you need to. Only for true beer officianados.

Very useful in an expanding world of beers. I use it to log what beers I have had - some of them so long ago I can’t remember what I thought of them, or what the label looked like. The aggregate score is useful for getting a feel for whether you want to try a beer or not - it’s usually a pretty fair representation. If there are pubs and bars near you that submit their tap list to Untapped you can check that out which is great - especially if they do growlers. I use this app frequently and have few complaints.

Great. Great app but you should add the option to show the last 5 locations you’ve checked in like you do for purchase location👍🏻

Beerbook. A beer centric gamified version of Facebook. Great for finding particular drops and potential employees who are on the cans way too much. A must have for any serious craft drinker.

Great app for identifying and collating different beers from around the world.. Long before this app I was manual entering each and every beer I drank into an excel spreadsheet. Tedious and boring. Then along came Untapped and my life has changed. It’s easy to look up the beer I’m drinking, take a photo of it and even write my own notes. I can find venues that sell a beer I want to try and make friends along the way. It’s easy fast and simple. Now is the challenge of collecting badges for achieving different ‘skills’ along the way. 5 IPAs, earn a badge, 5 German beers earn a badge. You get the idea. A little bit of fun mixed in with a really good app.

A great App to track your beer. It is easy to use and record all the beers you try, but also can be linked to friends so u can wgstbbeers they are drinking and where. It stores all your beers for future reference.

A must have for serious beer drinkers. I have used this for years and put every beer in it. Also handy for finding beers and what beers your favourite venues have on tap

Great app and easy to use. This app makes it so easy to review, lookup and share information about the highs and sometimes lows of being a craft beer lover

Great app. Does it all. Takes my reviews, allows me to remember what I like. Allows me to Toast others be gamed by collecting badges. Even allows me to track home brews.

Missing Options with New Update. Following the latest update there seems to be no way to turn off the in-app photo editor, or any scale on the graphs for the statistics page. Fix those two issues and it’s 5/5. Dark mode is a great new feature.

A good way to remember and connect with others. Just remember that it won't fix your skewed reviews after your tastebuds have a little too much beer!

App Update. Last update has deleted all history. Lost the ratings from over 5 years. Very disappointed.

Improves my beer drinking experience. I’ve been on Untappd for over 7 years and I haven’t tired of it. Makes beer drinking even more fun. Also helps with beer travel. I have made friends through Untappd. Like how the app is constantly improved and given new features.

From The Beer Doctor. Great app helps keep a track of all the different beers and breweries that I have tried. Wish I had this twenty years ago. Should also add a rating for the Breweries, hotels and pubs based on staff service, knowledge of beers, cleanliness ect Cheers Ballo

Great application and community and beer is good!. If love or even just enjoy beer; like being a little social or even just like to keep a journal of your beers and stats (nerds), then this is the place and app for you. It does all of the above and more, like seeing ratings from the community and discovering new beers. It also has award badges... and yes we need stinking badges the internet age just like upvotes :)

The best!. The best beer rating app available bar none! So many beers so little time. I marvel at those people over a thousand and will be there soon myself, almost one new beer a day! Alco much???

Your good beer compass. This app for me has served as a compass to find great beers and breweries on my travels. Without this, I’d be stuck drinking rubbish mass made, big corporation beers and no one likes that. Thanks gang!

Drink with a purpose. Share your experience with others and read others experiences of the world’s greatest drink.

Best beer tracker. As a huge fan of trying all the craft beers, I usually buy mixed packs with one beer of each type & this is the most perfect app for it. The filter options for sorting beers is great for when you want to find out what your favourite beers have been or if you have tried a particular beer before. This is my personal beer diary.

Excellent all-round beer app. Great to find places when travelling, new local haunts, beers friend are enjoying, and so much more Makes hunting out “uniques” a new sport

Record and share your beersperience!. There are so many craft beers and so many breweries around- how can you ever remember what you’ve had, liked, disliked? How do you recommend and get recommendations? Meet others with similar tastes and take their recommendations. Untappd does it all

Easy to use. Have been using untapped for a couple of years, works well and easy to use, especially after a few beers.

Live beer lives. Untappd’s forte is that it provides live updates on beer available at happy hoppy venues Saves lotsa time allowing you to zero in to where and why you want to be there Priceless

Instagram for beer and cider. This is a fantastic app, a really fun and creative way to track your beer/cider intake while also tracking the various types and brands. I love the badge system, almost like mini achievements. If you are a fan of beer and cider and have friends that are too. This is a fun way to keep updated with what they are drinking and enjoying.

Avoid disappointment. Great app for remembering that IPA that was too malty, strong, whatever. I am not that adventurous, so probably don’t get the value others do. I like that three of my locals are now certified.

Novel and enjoyable app. Fun gimmick to collect badges. The utility of the app in Australia is limited though, as it doesn’t offer the same promotions and ‘enticements’ that you can get for using it in the US (ie, free drinks or free entry to events). Decent enough.

Comprehensive. I mostly use this to keep track of what I’ve had. Very handy when you come to a pub with several taps you’ve never tried. I’ve been impressed with just how comprehensive the list of beers is. I’ve found fresh beer producers from Siberia and micro brews in Belarus on their database

Great App - just what we were looking for. It allows you to find a beer (scan barcode) or search. Find brewers. Keep track of your beers tasted and allow for rating (and show you overall rating). Brilliant. Makes our craft sessions so much more than just lining up our cans.

BeerSnob. This App has been great helping me learn about new beers that I drink. It gives nice quick descriptions of the beer and also good feedback from other users. Definitely one to have for those wanting to learn and experience new beers!

Why change ?. Use to be good but now it won’t allow you to use your own stickers only pre selected generic stickers I want to be able to add my own like I used to do why oh why stop you from doing that 🤦🏼‍♂️👎🏼and in even a paid up insider too

Great app, just could be more.. Love it, support it, but the updates have been slower and while I feel it’s a great app some badges/fixes could be implemented.

A great app. If only other apps put as much effort into making things functional and user friendly

Sharing is caring. Not only do I get to sample some of the best ‘crafties’ out there, but I also get to rate them for myself. So I will always have a tally to go back to. Very helpful! .. Also, does anyone know if there is a position available for a professional beer taster out there? I’m in.

Fun, Social App. I really enjoy the app, easy to use, the library of beers seems to store everything I have drank so far with loads of other qwerky others. The app due to its social inter-activeness, helps to spark motivation in exploring the beer world, I find myself searching for new beers to log, this alone makes it an interesting app to get on top of.

Combines beer and competing with mates!. The only thing I like more than beer is competition! This app lets you compete with your mates to see who can drink the most different beers! It also helps you make educated decisions on which beers to try next! Both of these points easily justify 5 stars….. but the app itself is smooth, easy and fast! Only issue is not being able to start a new line when writing a review of beers….. but it’s a tiny issue!!

Love it, but. I have been rather quiet on the app over the past fewcyears and couldn't figure why... Turns out since it now supports dynamic text it has become a hodgepodge of a mess with the setting I use. This is obvs a huge coding dialemma and I understand that but from a vision impairment standpoint it was better before.

Ridiculously fun app. Myself and a few friends use this app to recommend beers to each other. Also keeps beer tasting new and interesting! Recommended for all lovers of a cold one.

Fantastic!. Ticks most of the boxes! You can upload photos, give beers a numerical rating, search the database for brews (and add entries!), connect with breweries and other users. The statistics Untappd provides you with are decent too. This gives me what I want out of an app in this space. You can also leave tasting notes, but strangely there is a character limit - which I don’t understand. I often like to leave relatively verbose tasting notes, so the most important feature request I have is to increase the character limit for tasting notes.

Fantastic app, but why discriminate as to which countries deserve a badge?. Great app, very detailed, handy for tasting notes. The only question is as to why some countries warrant a badge and others don’t. Having to petition to change this is crazy, as the petitions are mainly a list of people asking for different countries. It would be a simple change and encourage people to try more obscure stuff. I’ve drunk 12 beers from the Faroe Islands, but they don’t count towards anything whereas 5 Danish do. Please try to rectify this.

Easy to use great app. Great to keep a record and record recent new beers and check other ratings

The thing since Man put yeast in a malt beverage. I rely on Untappd for all of my beer blogging; I tried lots of techniques to store my beer photos and tasting notes before this... I just wish I had adopted it sooner!

Best app for a beerie. Get app to share you thoughts, tastes and rates about the beer you try. Love unlocking the badges and meeting people exactly like you. Great platform to find ideas for the next beer you want to try!

Darren. It’s a great App as long as people realise it is only a guide and my opinion differs from you. That being said, it’s a great way to learn about beer, where to find it and venues to drink it.

Fantastic. Going out with mates, but don’t know which of your favourite haunts have the best tap selection... peeps coming from interstate and you want to show them the best beers we have to offer.... yep.... this app is for you

Great beer app!. I love it how the app gives you all the info on the beer and lets you rate the beer yourself whilst also checking out other reviews. You can rate local venues and keep up with your friends reviews. A great all round beer app.

No-one writes actual reviews. I want to love this app but I can't - no-one writes any actual useful information about beers. Eg I'm standing in a bottle shop, wanting to try something new. I scan a barcode, and just get numbers. Hundreds of ratings, but no info on what the beer actually tastes like. Why did you like it? Why did you not like it? Does 3 = above average or total cr@p? No idea. I try to personalise my reviews but what's the point if no-one else does? People are obsessed with getting their stats up and nothing else.

Best Beer App. I’ve used this App since 2016 and it’s by far the best out there. Enjoyed many cold beer while on it that’s for sure! Cheers to all beer lovers!

Great App Design. - like the bar code scanning - like the activity notifications, though it would be nice to filter my activity out - like the ability to add new beers - like the feeds on the venue - use it to see what to order at a new brewery

Awsome app. I love it! Gr8 for great finding and to get to know what type of beer you like

untappd is grrrrrrreat!. is that copyright infringement? I hope not. You might not remember all of the 1000 beers you’ve tried, but Untappd remembers.

Stop the ads!!. Just started seeing ads pop up all over the site. Not cool. Will close my account if the ads continue

Almost perfect. Great app for the craft beer lover. The only shortcoming is why you’d limit the distance for the purchased location. I often travel to breweries to sample, purchase a few to go, then enjoy them at home, thus when reviewing them, cannot put in the purchase location. Otherwise, very useful and functional. Would be a 5 star review with that fixed.

Super. Fonctionne partout dans le monde.

Changed app. Loved the app. Was a loyal user for years. The recent change to a pay subscription service made me dislike the service.

Fantastic. This is a fantastic app to track those favourite beers or share them amongst friends. If you’re uncertain of a beer while in the store, just scan the barcode and see what others are saying about it. Cheers!!!

It’s just fun to track. I enjoy keeping a diary of my different encounters with micro’s

Dwight Mckellar teview. I really do like Untapped. Two recommendations -search could easier with key words -more pictures of the beer-some names/labels can be confusing & maybe specs like alcohol content & IBU could change)

What a waste. An intense waste of time and resources. A stupid app made by a stupid company for a stupid hobby.

Amazing app. Amazing app

Here here. The only social media I find tolerable

Ads in feed. 0 stars since they added ads to the feed.

Best social media for beer!. This is a great app that provides useful user reviews of just about any beer. But the best aspect is the ability to form a community of beer friends, toast each other and share views.

Great app for the love of all things with beer. Very detailed information and fun to review. After 3500 plus check ins on new beers absolutely critical as a reference

Great app to track my beer journey with friends. Love this app, tracks my travel and destination using beer as a common thread with my friends

Always!. Always a great visit!!!! True (46) North, Strong!

Oui. Oui

Crashes with iOS 7 and iPhone 15. It crashes when I try to scan a bar code. Could you fix it?

Great beer app!. Love this app for tracking what I’ve tasted over the years, comparing beers with friends, and seeing ratings of brews I’d like to try. Set up nicely so one can search by brewery or beer name.

The Gold Standard. Just about every beer there is. Tasty reminders.

Great app. Perhaps allow home brew reviews? As a private thing so one can have a record of batches brewed.

Rewards my alcoholism. If it’s craft beer, it’s not a drinking problem; it’s a hobby. Badges for drinking ? Glad someone is finally recognizing how much hard work goes into my drinking “problem”

A must for every beer lovers!. It’s simply impossible to keep track of the ever-expanding and diversifying variety of the global and local beer culture, but your best chance by far is Untappd…

Pretty decent app. Great way to keep track of beers and general quality of breweries. Only negative is that the rating system will only let people rate 1-5 and whole numbers only unless you pay to upgrade. Given that the large majority of people aren’t paying to upgrade, the ratings become very heavily skewed, and inaccurate in many cases.

Too many Beers. Love this app, every entry I have done , shows up in this app. I think they have every beer on the market Keep on updating as new beers come out

Great app. Lots of fun!. Great way to keep track of all the beers you have tried! Keeps places you have been. 2 thumbs up!! And fun to follow buddies and their ‘beer excursions!

Best app o.n the roster. So good for checking out new beers

Ads? Really? Gfy!. Ads? Really? Gfy! Been on here for years and found it very useful, sometimes essential. Cheers to ruining a great thing that was not necessary. No, you did not need to switch to an advertising model or become profitable.

Intrusive. Deleted right away. Why does it need to know everything about me just to find beer?

Keeps getting better. I use it everyday. Great app that continues to evolve and improve for craft beer lovers.

Beer drinkers unite!. This is a great way to track the beers you’ve tried and find others you’ve never heard of before.

La meilleure application à vie. Vive les micro brasseries

Cool. Love this app!! Too drunk to write any more!!

Solid. Very useful for alcoholics! Takes a bit to learn how to use it, it’s not readily intuitive but a great way to track your brews. I’m disappointed that they’ve stopped giving badges for special occasions.

Bug. Can even complete my sign in -_- please make your app work better 🤞🏼

Review. Awesome to keep track! Revisit venues and compare…

Untapped app. A great app to see the different beers of the world and my attempt to try everyone. I really enjoy adding beers to the app.

Wow. Très pratique de partager entre famille et ami

Great tool for finding great beers. Refer to this app in every restaurant and every beer store

Beer is good. Sometimes it’s not. App helps keep track of what you like and dislike. Have to try though.

Over Priced. $67 a year to enter your beers after you come home from vacation. Beyond ridiculous.

Nice app. Great app to keep track of all your beer tastings. Simple, efficient. I love it!

4.0.5. The latest version is a serious downgrade from the previous I had been using for four years.

Bug: minimizing app loses all data. 1 star for visibility to developer, will update rating when this bug is fixed. When you minimize the app, but you have a check in or scan or whatever, the screen goes black and resets. You lose your previous screen and all data you had open. For example, if you scan a beer and start rating it, upload a photo, etc. but you minimize the app or turn the screen off, or switch to another app, then any data you had open is now gone. It’s basically that you have one chance to scan and rate or all data is wiped if you leave the app. This has been going on for a year+ Hope this helps.

Make it easier to connect to friends. When you are sitting beside each other and the app is open and you can not connect… it is time to improve your app.

Fun and interactive !!. This app is so fun and I love being able to log the beers I have had and rate them all with personalized notes and extraordinary flavour notes options ! It’s such an interactive app!! The best !

* The Powerhouse of Beer Apps *. Untappd offers many useful features that any beer drinker can appreciate to some extent. It allows you to keep track of the beers you drink, rate them and suggests other beers you may like based on the data you provide. Being able to search for a beer, see the reviews, and locate where you can go buy it, is helpful. There is also a social aspect to the app. It’s fun to interact and see what my friends are drinking and it helps me find new beers, events, etc... that I otherwise may not have seen or heard about. Always great to see a Wilmington, North Carolina company doing well. Cheers!

Long time user, overall good, couple complaints. Untappd makes beer fun. The app is solid, but I’d like to see a couple improvements: 1) to be able to set an alert on the brewery level so I can get a notification for when ANY of their beers are nearby not just specific beers and 2) when you go to the nearby local badges, would be awesome to have a map view so you can see where the places are in relation to where you are. Lastly, I’ve been disappointed they stopped doing the traditional annual holiday badges like Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. They haven’t address why but I do worry it is for “woke” reasons.

Abel HERNANDEZ. Untapped needs to update their brewery maps. Last week I discovered 3 new ones + a new venue in the Santa Rosa Area that had been established for over 3-4 yrs. Yes, I used UNTAPPD to find them. But, I had been doing that the past 2 yrs whenever my job took me to that area and those breweries never came up! Also, the map itself shows my location on a search, but as I drive towards a brewery destination, the blue dot doesn’t advance. It stays stationary, where before having taken the most recent update, it would advance, thereby showing my GPS exact location the closer I got. Other than that, the APP has been great.

Awesome Beer Ap. Overall, I love Untappd. It captures the info you need and allows you to see what others may think of beer. Even though rating a beer with a number is a hard thing to do, at least it lets you keep track of what you like and don’t like, when you had it and where you had it. Would give 5 stars if it were a little more intuitive. It is very confusing on trying to make edits when you make a mistake. For example, clicking several times to find out where to find “edit” on a check in. It does keep getting better with updates though!

Love this app!. I’ve been using this for years. This app is on one hand about a craft beer community you can lean on for giving honest feed back and ratings for beers you are thinking of purchasing. It is also about connecting with friends and seeing what they are drinking and how they enjoyed it, either across the bar or across the world. The number of establishments that are tuned into this app and have up to date draft lists continues to grow. Is there a specific beer you want to try and don’t know where to find it? Use this app’s search feature to track down where people have purchased or drank it, up to the minute. Cheers! Sláinte!

CHANGE RATING SYSTEM TO .10 INCREMENTS. Love the app. It’s nitpicking but so many times when I’m rating a beer I find myself wishing I could rate the beer just a little bit better or a little worse compared to other similar beers that in my mind are close in rating. I don’t believe the current scale or increment system gives me enough leeway to accurately rate that difference. Several times I’ve tried a beer that I think is good enough to be better than a 4.00 but doesn’t quite compare to beers I’ve given a 4.25. I wish I could give that beer a 4.10 or 4.15 rating. The app would easily receive 5 stars if i had the ability to rate beers in .10 or .05 increments instead of .25 increments.

My favorite way to track and rate beers.. I really like this app. Being able to keep track of beers I’ve had and rate them with notes is excellent. So many times I cannot remember what I had or where I had it and now I have this almost perfect database! I can find places that serve or sell the brews I like. I only have a minor complaint about the app which is that some beers when I scan them in come up wrong. Not a big deal because I can correct it, but I am not sure how often they get looked at if I submit it to the admins.

New version unusable - unless you know a trick. This update had rendered this awesome app unusable on my iPhone 7. It has 2 alerts that come up simultaneously (1 for finger print and 1 about the messaging). The messaging alert covers the fingerprint alert. You cannot close the message alert bc the fingerprint alert is waiting for a response. However, you can’t respond bc the fingerprint alert is covered. The workaround is to wait a moment and then double tap somewhere on the screen other than the message alert. That will bring the fingerprint alert to top and lets you use the app Poor QC of update.

Fantastic. Great app. If nothing more than a means to track the different brews I’ve tried. It’s always difficult trying to remember the ever growing list of brews out there. So Untapped is a go-to for bevvie enthusiasts. It’s not too intuitive right out of the gate admittedly, but after a few check-ins, it’s easy going from then on. Great idea. Could use a facelift though, the design stagnates after awhile. And it’s a little bit difficult to add and interact with friends. Seems like a forced fracture that’s thrown in the corner. But that’s not a dealbreaker for a 5/5.

Craft beer drinkers Instruction Guide. This app is so helpful & useful to everyone that has interest in the world of Craft Beer. Seeing Global reviews, pictures, descriptions, all these things are so useful not only for sharing experiences, but also very helpful when trying to make the best decision at the beer store! There are countless times that I’ve defaulted to Untappd to help with my purchase whenever I am in doubt. I enjoy uploading and sharing my opinions as well and have been told by my followers how helpful it is!! It’s a community, Craft lovers helping through information, both written & visual, aiding our fellow enthusiasts. I love it

Social Drinkers Unite!. The app is easy to use, and even helps you find great beers, great places to enjoy them with friends, and what those places have on their menus. It’s also a great way to keep track of all the beers you’ve had if you’ve tried too many to count in your lifetime! My only suggestion to improve the app would be to add something that allows you to add a feature that allows a user’s friends to anonymously let them know if they might have checked into the wrong beer. I see the wrong beers getting check-ins every now and then, which sometimes can be harmful to wrong beer’s overall rating.

Awesome App for Reviewing Beers. There are so many beers and with craft breweries pumping up new kinds all the time it’s hard to remember what you may have tried and whether or not you liked it. In steps untapped and you have the perfect beer drinking companion that allows just that. Compare it to like a yelp but for beers only. It has a great clean interface and makes reviewing and posting which beers you try a breeze. Also they add an interactive element by allowing you to have friend lists and badges for accomplishing drinking certain types of beers. So if you are looking for something to review and track beers, look no further than this app!

LOVE IT! Here’s a thought to add 🤔. Absolutely love the app! Love seeing my friends beers, badges, tastes, venues, and then almost competing with them. If my Dad gets a badge I don’t have I have to find out what it is and get it myself. I love how much it’s made me explore my beer interests. BUT I have one idea that could make it more fun. I wish you could add the amount you’re drinking, a can 12oz, at restaurants 22oz, malt liquor 42oz, kegs, etc. and then the app would add the amount of beer you’ve drank in gallons and just show you much you’ve drank. I think it’s be a cool addition. Didn’t know how else to share my idea so hopefully the genius creators of Untappd see this! :)

Untappd creates unity. Our craft beer group has gone from being on ratebeer, beer advocate and several other craft beer platforms to using 1 app. We can share our bottles we’ve purchased as well as not purchasing beers they have had already. When we get together for a bottle share, everyone can see what beers are being brought and pick other styles so we don’t have all sours, IPA’s or doubling up. I teach a beer class at Wichita State Universities Continuing department and we have the students use the app as a tool to help educate them to properly evaluate a beer based upon the BJCP Style Guidelines.

Fun! But buggy and glitchy. I’ve been using Untappd for a few years now and I’ve basically enjoyed it this far. But it has become quite buggy and glitchy. I notice it more on WiFi than on cellular data, but either way it has gotten to the point where it freezes up or errors out so often that it is not fun to use anymore. I often have to completely rewrite a whole review because the app froze when I tried to submit the review and I had to close it and restart it. No bueno. But, this app has had almost every beer that I’ve ever searched for—that’s pretty cool. Also, the new features (flavor profile, etc are great adds).

K’s review of Untapp’d. I love that Untappd allows me to track and sort which beers I have tried, from which breweries and styles, and remember which ones I want to try. It also helps me moderate my consumption by keeping track of how much I drink each week. And it now helps manage freshness of the many beers in my fridge. I also love the ability to take photos and remember fun times sharing a beer with friends. My only detraction is that when I started it was really simple, and with all the features (most of which I love) it seems more cumbersome. Still, I can choose to just ignore them, and it’s no big deal.

Good for where it’s at.... This app is good for what it’s doing at the moment. The way you post, what your posting, the integration with restaurants etc all great. My problem with this app is that it’s a social media app but it doesn’t run as smooth as it should. The notifications aren’t the same as a standard social app, it’s hard to get to the friends page. The way the menu is designed at the bottom doesn’t exactly make sense. If they want this app to be better they need to make the menu items familiar. There are also some weird bugs like when I posted my profile picture it’s all distorted and weird, I think a square image would be better than a circle.

Accomplishments via brews 🍻. I really enjoy tracking my brew journey and the badges make it feel like a quest level game. I’ve been using for years and compete against my cousins for badges and variance. It’s fun and a great conversation piece. I enjoy being able to quickly reference drinks I’ve had and seeing how I rated it prior. Prevents repurchasing which is ideal for the true Connoisseurs. I wish the wine apps would take pointers because this is the most user friendly drinking app I use. The only downside is that it may encourage more drinking lol but with all things = do in moderation and be responsible!

Untapped = Microsoft Word of beer apps.. I am a huge beer nerd and professor( also a judge and teach multiple university level beer classes). I use Untappd to keep track of beers I’ve tried and secondarily to share with my immediate friend group. All the other social media and badging stuff Untappd forces on me is a major annoyance (enough that I “quit” it roughly every 6months). I come back because there’s not really a viable alternative, but I absolutely HATE using Untappd. Just like MS Word, I endure using it because it is ubiquitous. This could be easily fixed simply by letting me truly turn off features if I choose to. First on the list, the f^}%{* badges. Why? WHY? They’re not even ads! They’re just a chore that Untappd gives me to do. Hundreds of little windows I have to clear. WHY? Is there some way they generate revenue for you that I’m not seeing? WHY? PLEASE let us customize (turn off) stupid features like this.

It’s Beer-thirty. I have a horrible memory - and drinking beer doesn’t help. But this is awesome cause now I can look up what I’ve tried and either get it cause I loved it or avoid it cause I hate it. But let it work for you. Start with a beer you know well and give that a base score - then you have a basis of comparison to always go back to (mine is New Belgium - Voodoo Ranger). If that’s too high, all others will be high but that’s ok - and if it’s too low, likewise. But this is your app so use it that way! Have fun, level up, share beers with friend, and see when and what they are drinking!

Mmm... beer. This is a great app to use for finding new beer, beer you’ve been coveting, or just an old favorite you may have forgotten about. It has decent social elements, but I think the main selling point is the venues. It will find you places near you and update you their menus. If a grocery store near you gets a new beer, they tell you. If a bar taps that imperial you’ve been looking for, it tells you. If your friend spills their beer and there’s no one around to drink it off the floor, did it really happen? Well, if they post it on here you would know. And it’s all completely free, with zero ads. The stars don’t go far enough. 7/5

Innovative App for Beer Drinkers!. I’ve enjoyed this app because it is a great platform to express your opinions on alcoholic beverages that you buy. Not only can you rate drinks but you can also see ratings that other people make which helps you get a feel for the opinions of other experienced drinkers. For the most part I use this as a logging system to track the beers I’ve had and what I think of those beers. This app is a great tool for distributors, liquor stores, and consumers to enhance their drinking experience!

For the tip of the spear. This app is filled with people that love their beer and want to share their experience. Right now the folks I follow on here all post trustworthy experiences and never double up so you always get introduced to new beers. I love this app and everything it stands for but I kind of wish it were more popular. The people that use this app are normally the ones that try to get a new beer every time they have a chance and therefore always have something new and engaging to share about a beer I’ve never heard of or drank before.

Great research tool on beer out there. Giving it a 3 because there are some errors with labeling types of beer such as American and Hazy IPA or Pastry/Berliner Weisse. Hope Untappd will go through the list and revise for the sake of beer lovers like myself. Whoever is very reliable on the app will get wrong type of beer and confused with types of beer. Also, it always shoots you a random email with advertisements linked to Untappd sponsors every time you post your review which could be little annoying. Yet reliable to check out the average ratings on beer where I can judge on whether to buy or not. Love its locations finder and beer trending info. Still recommend it!

App still wants my gps location but still doesn’t make use of it. Why does this app ask for gps location and then not use it when checking in or trying to find local breweries? For whatever reason you are determining location by using the wifi/cellular instead of the gps you are asking for. When I select show breweries near me it jumps to the city my con is set to instead of where my I ACTUALLY am. When I scroll th map or type in the city I’m actually in I see the gps pointer clearly showing where I am on the map. This map you app completely useless. And no it is absolutely not an acceptable solution to turn off my VPN because your developers don’t know how to utilize the data you are requesting to use from my phone meaning the MUCH MORE ACCURATE GPS LOCATION.

Since my brain cannot retain. I love this app because it stores all of my notes related to my favorite hobby of drinking beer! I use this app regularly to remind me which beers I have had, as well as how much I liked them. This is invaluable to me, as my memory is pretty much worthless these days. It is shocking how often I order a beer thinking I have never had it, and when I go to check it in, sho nuff I had it before! Nowadays I reference the app prior to ordering beer or buying (mostly cans), I cannot imagine beer life without this app 🍺

Great App!. Using Untapped allows me to keep track of the overall quantity of beer I enjoy each year. I receive a detailed report showing what styles I’ve drank and locations I’ve visited. Great to view what beers are available near me at home or especially on vacation. Using Untapped allows individuals to rate beers. Viewing photos of various beers you are interested in trying really help. You can invite friends and even get a notification if they are near you drinking. Customer support has always been great. I have been enjoying Untapped for a few years now. Highly recommend. Cheers!

Make more user friendly. The idea of a social media app where users can share what beers they are drinking and check in at brewery’s is a wonderful idea. But the app is very non user friendly. It has way to many things going on at once. It takes me a little bit just to figure out where to check in a beer I’m drinking, and once I decide to check it in, I have about 10 different things to choose from regarding my rating for the beer, how I am drinking it, where I am, and others. It’s way too much going on. The app needs to focus on making it more user friendly and getting rid of a lot of the features that it has that make the app overwhelming.

Great app, wish it had one thing. Love the app but I think they could take a page from Letterboxd: currently you can only Check In to mark a beer you had which will mark it as you had it right then when you made the post. I would love the option to set the date in case I had it the night before or awhile ago. I’d also love the option to just mark it as I’ve had it even if I don’t remember when. So newcomers can mark everything they’ve had before and have a more complete list and better recommendations. I bring up Letterboxd cause you can do that; mark it as I’ve seen it, I just watched it, or I saw it on this date.

Best App EVER!!!. For craft beer lovers, this app is the greatest thing ever. It’s an amazing way to catalogue all beers you’ve had, a social media to interact with other beer enthusiasts, a map for finding local breweries or beers, and a guide for getting recommendations for beers or styles that you might like. I’m on here repeatedly ever day—even when I’m not drinking beer just to see what others are having. If you like craft beer, you are an idiot if you don’t get this app. Beware: your significant other might get annoyed by this app if they aren’t into beer when you choose to log in every beer you try when you are out together. This app is simply perfect for all beer lovers.

Made me appreciate beer so much more. This is one of my all time favorite apps. With the help of Untappd, trying new beers has become one of my favorite hobbies. This app makes the world of beer tasting and trying so much more manageable. When I was just starting to try beers, it helped my to keep the different styles straight and get to know what I liked. Now that I’ve tried and logged so many, it helps me to find rarer beers with notifications when local shops or bars have them in stock. I recommend Untappd constantly when people tell me that they find the world of craft beer confusing or daunting.

A good social beer app. Untappd does was it was originally designed for very well, log beer and allow friends to comment. It clearly has expanded and could use some tweaking in areas like verified menu lists (why list only 5 or so and make me go to another screen to see everything, I’m going to the beer list to see the beer on tap). Another area for improvement would be the venue list. Very easy to find based on my location, but what if I want venues around a different location, that’s not nearly as easy. BeerMenus handles that one a lot easier. Both minor complaints that keep it from being a 5 star app.

Best of its kind. Been using this app since 2011 and can safely say Untappd the best of its category. Great way to quickly check info about a beer and log your checkins. Like anything else, Untappd has its quirks, but it’s well put together top to bottom. Note to the Product Manager: You guys should add cellar management support. Given the quality of your db, it should be easy to corner that market. Not to mention the marketing opportunities it opens up. Also, the most recent update broke the cursor focus when going from most tabs to the beer search. Please fix :)

Great app!. Love this app- it really helps me and my fellow beer aficionados compare notes, make recommendations, and just have fun. Its always been awesome about keeping up to date with the latest and greatest brews, and even allows the homebrew community of which I am a part list and rate each others’ fine creations. Even though its a free app it isn't burdened by excessive ads and they never feel in the way. The “achievements” are a little overkill which is why I took one star off- they feel more like “gold stars” than something I would purposefully make as a goal... the app hands them out like candy and it gets a little annoying sometimes. Overall great app though and i always recommend it to any craft beer fan!

One of my favorites. As a lover of craft beer, I’ve found Untappd a real gem. The app connects a vibrant community of beer lovers, offers an intuitive interface, and is very easy to use. Checking in to a particular brew is easy. The search feature is good, with beers, breweries, and venues all searchable. The recent addition of further information on beer styles is wonderful, and really helps focus your tasting on the salient features. I use the list making feature all the time. When I have a fridge full of craft beer, I can scan barcodes to create my list, and tell Untappd to remove beers from my inventory as I taste them. Awesome.

Awesome! App to track beer!. I really enjoy logging the beers I find that meet my taste criteria. I don’t usually like beer, but when I find one that meets the crazy standards I hold dear, it’s nice to be able to recall them by taking a photo, writing a review and rating it on this app. The only weird thing is the “nearby verified venues”. The app comes up with verified venues that a far from where we are located! That’s my only complaint. I love that I can toast my friends and my hubby and that I can keep track of where I had certain beers. It’s awesome!!

The Pokédex of Beers. While I don’t have a refined palette & tend to rank the occasional Four Loko 5 stars, the app is super fun & robust. It’s cool to see what friends are trying & what strangers thought about the same beers. It also helps you find new things to try & ensure you will never drink the same thing twice unless you really want to. My only wish: use the database of taste & feel descriptions to find beers that match the features you enjoy. I want to try a “corn grits” beer like no other! Or use it to cross reference different flavor profiles to find some truly unique combos.

Loving it so far. Had this application for about a year and have much enjoyed referencing it when picking out beers at the store or bar. Great user interface, and few complaints. Only thing I wish they fixed are the groups - they don’t seem to be real groups like on other social media apps, and as far as I can tell the existence of the group is only visible to the one who made it, not the others in the group - so seems rather pointless. I’d love to see a fix to the group feature, but other than that, an almost perfect app.

My guide to great beer adventures. I’ve been using Untappd for years now. I love it and almost get excited to log beers especially when I travel. I keep in touch with friends around the world and see what beers they discover too. I became and Insider so I could explore the app more and be more accurate with my ratings of beer. Saving my favorite beers in a list so I know what to look for. It’s just an all around great app for craft beer drinkers and makes the culture more fun and enjoyable. I highly recommend it to the fellow beer connoisseurs!

Great for a traveling man (or woman). I’ve been using this app for years now and absolutely love it. As a traveling consultant and pilot this is the perfect way to know what I’ve tried and how I’ve rated various brews. It’s also been nice to see how my tastes have changed as I might rate things differently today as I did a couple years ago. It has encouraged me to seek out styles I may have otherwise inadvertently avoided and has stimulated many conversations. The badges make it fun too. All around, this app is a must have for beer drinkers looking to explore what’s out there.

Great journaling app with some workflow rough edges. The app is great; the data is accurate and updated very quickly. The UI/UX has a few rough edges; when at a tasting room or getting a flight, the likely scenario is entering multiple beers from the same brewery and at the same location in succession. If there is a rapid, one-click way to retrieve the same list of beers, I haven’t found it. You still have to go to the brewery from your recent searches and pull up the full beer list. Also, when searching, the list does not filter in real-time; you have to press the search button to execute the search. Minor issues on an otherwise excellent app.

Who new drinking could be more fun. What are the best things in life? Well, this is probably a stretch but one could argue it’s drinking with friends, earning points, and collecting badges. This app encourages or enables all three. Sometimes, it’s worth having a new beer, even if you know you won’t like it, just to find out the name of the next obscure badge. I’d definitely say this app makes me want to drink more, but I’m a good way. The ironic part, I probably only remember to check in for 1 in 5 beers. The sad part, that implies I’ve had a lot of freaking beer 😂.

Perfect for adventurous beer enthusiasts!. This app is a fun way to keep track of your favorite beers and discover new ones. You can earn badges for trying different brews, participating in events, drinking at different venues, and more. All of the different achievements available to earn either don’t have a time limit or allow a substantial amount of time to complete, so the app never advocates for irresponsible drinking. The app will also tell you about recently added local venues and can help you find specific beers in your area. Anyone adventurous enough to explore new beers should definitely give Untappd a try; you won’t be disappointed!

Great for beer tracking. I got this program to learn more about beer. I soon discovered it was like Pokémon Go for alcoholics and Chasing badges forced try beers I would have previously passed on. I found I liked beers I tried more than my previous favorites. I was also able to track beers I’ve previously tried that were “duds” and avoid them when going out. It’s also a statistical tool to evaluate beers. It aids in locating microbreweries while traveling. It’s also a social tool to connect with those of same interests. Had for a few years, glad I got it.

Fun!. My husband and I enjoy using this app. It is fun to collect the badges and learn about different beers we have not tried. It is a great source to locate new breweries that we have not visited. Recently we used it on a trip to Nashville. We located one the trip there and plenty when we got to Nashville. The app tells you events to go to and gives you menu of the beers on tap. We enjoy rating the beers and learning about the taste and aromatic flavors. Let’s you store your favorites and notifications are sent when beer is released again. The badge collection is just a fun reward. I say this app is like Pokémon Go for Beer. Lol. Enjoy!!!!!

Great for record keeping. Minor complaints. The app itself is a great way to record what you’ve had and liked but users contribute to what I feel is the apps major downside. What I mean is specific beers or breweries can become highly rated because friends or average users rate them high and beers or breweries whose styles aren’t in favor are given poor ratings by people who assign a random number without knowing the brewers intent or what different styles should taste like at a high level. If ratings were blind until your first check in I think more people would expand their pallets with an open mind. It’s also noteworthy that people who truly know beer the best use descriptions in lieu of ratings.

I’ve Been A User For 5 Years. As the title of my review implies, I’ve been using this app for 5 years now. It’s a great app for cataloging the beers that you’ve had. It’s fun to go back and think of the memories associated with the different beers you’ve had over the years. As time has gone on this app has only gotten better. There’s really not much in the way of how it could be approved in my opinion. Pretty much everything I wanted them to fix or add, they’ve done over time. I don’t drink as much as I used to but every time I have a beer I check it in on Untappd. Cheers and always remember to drink responsibly.

Untappd helps you find local beer places and gives you their beer menus as you travel.. We travel to Florida and southern Ca. often taking different routes from upstate NY. Untappd helps me find great beer venues, then shows me what beers we have to choose from, also making it easy to log into a beer from that venue. It makes traveling so much easier and fun! Got to make friends here in SW Florida with an Untappd 10K person. Wow 10K different beers, a little less than 9K to go for me! I love sharing beers with friends, Untappd makes it so easy to do. Love the alerts for friends, beers and venues, so helpful. Great sorting ability, allows to look up beers, breweries and venues you have had and been.

Mandatory app!. If you’re looking for an app to help you keep track of all the different beers you’ve had, look no further than Untappd. Its a great way to build your beer empire! Not to mention, you can also check in different ciders and seltzer varieties. Rate each drink from a 1-5 scale (.25 increments) which goes into a worldwide rating system that allows other users to see a given beers average rating. Discover venues and unlock different deals in your area. Great app that’s gotten better throughout the years!

Have a Drink with Friends. This app helps me connect to friends and family over a pint—without having to be in the same room. I use this to share beer and brewery experiences and to help me decide which beer I will try next. This app is a must for my smart devices. The couple things that prevent me from giving this app 5 stars is the contact and location finders. I have tried finding friends with them next to me giving me details and the search comes up blank. More often, when I check in a beer, it’s assumed that I bought it nearby—and that’s not always the case. These shouldn’t prevent you from downloading this. Get it today!
