Unbelievable!. I have recently swapped from my iPhone 12 promax to an iPhone 14 Pro and after following instructions on how to restore the purchases if you change phones, but it still will not allow this to happen. I paid $89 for a whole year of silver plan that doesn’t come due until December 24, 2024 I’ve made two request trying to contact Truecaller but when I go to where it asked to follow the ticket number it asked me to login and it won’t even take my login and I try to reset the password but it still won’t even send me the email to reset my password. get it together Truecaller

Very Unhappy. A very important call was missed no thanks to you. If I hadn’t been looking at the phone I wouldn’t have seen the missed call notification. I certainly never heard the phone ring! Thankfully I got a voicemail minutes later saying they’d call back in x minutes so I had time to go through my settings and turn off Truecaller. Next call came through fine. Your spam filtering is opaque — there’s 3 parts to be activated with no info on what any of them do. Also there’s no history on the calls so I’m wondering what other calls may I have missed. This is unacceptable! Goodbye Truecaller. You worked well but now you’ll be uninstalled.

WORTHLESS MAIN BENEFIT IS ALLOWS REPORTING OF A SPAMMER - GEE THANKS. I find the app worthless, and the cost to privacy not near worth the price of giving the developers FULL ACCESS TO EVERY SINGLE CONTACT ON YOUR DEVICE. There are two main benefits to this app. One, is to allow you to report a spam caller as a spammer to the developer - Gee Thanks (can you hear the sarcasm dripping in my voice?). Two, allows you to double check a number that has just phone you, to see if other app holders have previously reported the number as a Spammer. Really do not understand the near five star review average, in fact I’m baffled by it. Someone, please explain to me how this is not a worthless app. This is an update to my prior review, which follows. [This issue has been resolved, But the app is worthless.] In order to set up Truecaller on the iPhone, in my case an iPhone 7, to to Settings>Phone>Call Blocking & Identification to turn on Truecaller. The problem is, Truecaller does not appear in the Settings. It appears in my family’s iPhone 6 and iPhone 5. Since Truecaller does not warn about not working with iPhone 7 in its self description in the App Store, I’ve given it one star. I would have given it zero stars, but Apple does not provide the zero star option.

Just NO. I had it for a very short while. I got rid of it after friends of mine were trying to leave voice mails and couldn’t. Or if I couldn’t talk at that particular time, I would reject their call, and instead of sending them to voicemail, it would give them some type of error message. After hearing the same thing multiple times, I deleted it off of my phone. This was several months ago. Still to this day, if I decline a call, it was ring back at least 3 times and I don’t think I have gotten 1 voice mail since the day I installed it. It has truly messed up my phone and I don’t know how to fix it.

Need consistent, frequent app store updates. Love the idea of this app and really appreciate it. It seems to work well at blocking spam callers, HOWEVER, I hate that it doesn’t automatically update on its own; notify you when there’s a new update available; or even show up in the app store to show there’s an update. As a result, I still get spam calls more than I should because they are not included until I go open the app, check if there’s an update, and then initiate it myself. Imagine if we had to do this with all apps? That would be obnoxious. I really hope we can get regular/frequent app updates for this via the app store so we dont have to constantly go in this app and check ourselves. It would save time and stress.

Makes Default Phone App Lag. Warns when the Red Cross calls about blood drives. Does not block spam calls from local (hijacked) numbers. Ad-supported. Must access your contact list. Not sure what they do with your contacts. Truecaller puts a huge database of Spam numbers into a couple of contacts which make the phone app lag horribly whenever you have a recent call or voicemail from any of those numbers. The contacts app also lags when you try to view the contact Truecaller generates. This app is supposed to make your life better. IMO, it is worse than not having spam filters at all.

Worthless, Scammer Themselves. Listed as a free application, but upon digging further you discover that’s untrue. It’s absolutely worthless. Hasn’t done a thing about intercepting and labeling robocalls. The basic premise of their system is flawed. It counts upon building a database (to share) of all numbers that are telemarketing numbers. YOU GUYS ARE LATE TO THE PARTY. The scammers are merely blocking calls with Call Blocker and then displaying a number of their choice that may or may not be active. There are clearly nearly an infinite number of these numbers. One time my girlfriend got called by HER OWN NUMBER as they attempted to get her to answer her phone. TRU CALLER doesn’t work—but they’ll charge you a couple hundred bucks a year for what should be a free service by your provider.

DUDEEEEeeeee. It’s awesome I thought it wasn’t going to work but it immediately turned all those spam calls into red lettered SPAM. I get spam called all day long at school ONLY AT SCHOOL I’ve literally never got spam called at home but at school I get so embarrassed when my ringtone goes off super loud in the middle of class one day it literally happened 3 TIMES i turn my ringer off but the stuff in my backpack shoves my phone all around and one time even ended up calling the cops on accident because of the side buttons. They literally were like “Can the person with the phone number (blah) bla - blah come down to the office IMMEDIATELY.” I was like 😱 but yeah my phone causes problems but this app can fix em so :3

Good... when it works: INCONSISTENT. Used to work consistently, but does not any longer. I update database regularly, have software turned on to screen, yet the spam/scam calls keep getting through. I immediate check the app w/the copy/paste feature, and number is already in the system listed as “scammer.” Why is the software not catching these calls as they come in?! WHY AM I TAKING UP STORAGE SPACE WITH THIS APP IF ITS NOT WORKING?!?! Same happens with all if our household devices. Its not just mine. Ive stopped recommending it to others, and will not again until it works consistently. I may find an alternative & remove the app from our devices.

It worked for me!. I bought an iPhone and it was constantly being rung off the hook with these spam calls and text messages. I was about to return the phone back because it drove me near crazy even though I loved the phone itself. I downloaded this because what it was saying on google and it worked. I’ve not had anymore issues

Do Not Use with T-Mobile - More Than Worthless. My cellular provider is T-Mobile (USA). I use T-Mobile’s Scam Shield service and app. I installed Truecaller, hoping it would catch the few spam calls that Scam Shield does not (one or two a month), but, in the 6-9 months I had it installed, Truecaller only showed two calls as spam and they were both legitimate calls. One was Verizon’s Sales department returning my call. (I manage my parents’ Verizon account.) I don’t remember the other one. Truecaller also marked a couple dozen legitimate text messages as Promotional and Junk. Some of those marked as Junk (and therefore had their notifications suppressed when they came in) were from a 911 Computer Aided Dispatch system (used to notify first responders of emergencies and provide address and situational info). These alerts are followed by other notification methods, but the time it takes to receive an alternate notification and take down an address can have a significant negative impact when every minute counts. Truecaller also failed to mark as spam all of the political calls and texts before the U.S. elections. So, if you have T-Mobile, use T-Mobile’s Scam Shield and don’t bother with Truecaller. And, if you receive critical text messages, DO NOT enable Truecaller’s SMS filtering.

BAYAR BERG. this app is great in most of it’s parts and functionalities, except chatting section. whenever i want to delete a conversation entirely i have to delete the app completely and reinstall it again from Appstore, normally i cannot delete it, and when i try to delete chats one by one, they get back after i close and open the app again, i’m really tired deleting the app and installing it again and again,, while it’s not a good solve at all, because all the other conversations are also deleted. i hope you can solve it in up-next versions.

Wrong for many reasons. We had an issue with someone on Craigslist who tried to get personal information from us. We hung up on him. Shortly afterwards we learned that our phone number was listed as a scam on Trucaller, probably as retribution from the Craigslist scammer. We learned about our phone number being listed as a scam from a local pet grooming shop when they saw it was listed on Trucaller. Trucaller never bothered to check that we had the same phone number since 2001, nor did they check our home address, nor did they contact us before labeling us as scammers. When we finally contacted them, they removed our number from their list. Maybe you should check with them to find out if someone has given them your number out of spite. This is a dangerous violation of privacy for them to convict people in a way for the whole world to see without any proof at all, just some jerk reporting you. The Nazis and Soviets had the same kind of system where you could rat on a neighbor and they would disappear!

No Free Version. Don’t bother to download this unless you want a subscription. There are no free features to use and you can only try the app after giving them your credit card info. Most of the other available apps have a free service and offer a premium upgrade at a cost but I’m not paying before I’ve tried the service at all especially not 100 a year for the discounted service. This app should say that it’s a subscription service in the description because it’s deceptive that it is a free download that has nothing free in it. Also, I don’t trust anyone who forces third party billing, apps should be charged through the App Store and I should not have to enter my cc into an app. Shady.

Ended up with more spam calls. On a normal day I get about 3 spam calls. The day before I downloaded this I got 8 spam calls, so I download this. The next day I get 12 spam calls, only 3 identified as spam. I was suspicious of giving this app my number but now I think it’s just made my spam problem worse. Update: I’ve done all the instructions that the app tells me to do to block calls. I block and report every single spam number but it’s like reporting into the void. After uninstalling the app and requesting my number to be removed from Truecaller, I’ve gone from 10 calls a day down to 4.

Questions?. App works quickly but navigation is blind, awkward & uncertain. Can't get past a page about, well I'm not sure what the page is about. Instructions are not clear. As of 16 Apr 21: canceled subscription because Never id’ numbers, had to use the recording of voice mail ( or not) to know if caller was legit (distant relatives) or junk. iPhone updates seems to have made it pointless. And since using premium the app has disappeared from share contact screen. Couldn’t do anything with it if I wanted to. So then they tell me to make adjustments in settings which are no longer in existence in settings. B-Bye!

Kludgy and inelegant w/many moving parts. Stops working often. I want TrueCaller to work as advertised, I really do. I installed the free app, and went through all the install steps. It seems to get uninstalled if you use app offloading. You know it’s working because calls in the phone app show extra TrueCaller data. In practice this almost never happens. For some reason you have to turn on 4 TrueCaller filters in Phone settings and it hangs on one of the steps. Then you get it working but a few days later it stops. Maybe not all of it is their fault, but it needs to be tested better in order for me to want to spend for the in app upgrades.

Absolutely Useless. tl;dr Don’t believe the hype. Bite the bullet and get NoMoRobo, you really get what you pay for. I’ve been getting 1-2 robocalls a day for the past 6 months. I tried Truecaller, and it was basically worthless. Spammers were constantly changing their numbers and Truecaller failed to do even the most basic filtering and blocking functions it promised. This continues to be the case after uninstalling and reinstalling, double-checking everything, and spending hours reading their pathetic Customer Service forums and searching the web. Even when the app was working like it claimed to be, if the number the spammer used didn’t happen to already be in the database, Truecaller would let it through no problem. Only after reporting it would it be added and blocked, which is useless as what are the odds they’d use it twice? It’s no better than blocking it manually. This is all without even mentioning this company’s very loose interpretation of their customers’ privacy.

Not the best. Really wanted to link this app. Especially because it’s free. But I get a BUNCH of unwanted/unknown calls (even though I’m on the do not call register) and everytime I searched them on Truecaller they would have no reports. I couldn’t get any useful information out of it. I would end up googling the numbers- which defeats the whole purpose of the app itself. And if you “blocked” numbers in the app you still had to block them on your phone, it wasn’t an automatic process. A ton of ads with this app. Became disappointed and switched to nomorobo and although it requires payment it’s totally a step up

NOT True Caller.... After adding the app, my spam calls increased considerably. Apparently, the app sold my phone number. In 2 weeks, only 1 call was considered spam by the App when I started receiving over a dozen calls per day. I had to turn the ringer off and ignored the calls I didn’t recognize. I called back some of the “missed calls” and all of the numbers were for non-existent lines. Apparently, the numbers appearing on the calls were randomly generated from non-existent lines. Most of those numbers attempted to be from areas where my number originally came from. I no longer live nor communicate with people with numbers from the area my number originated from, but kept the same number because I’ve had it since the brick phones of the early 90s. I don’t know what True solutions are out there to resolve the spam calls issue which has now gotten worse.

Puts you in control.. The app does as promised. It blocks already flagged number. If you decide it’s not a flagged number, it give you the option to unblock. The best feature in my opinion is the community input. If you report a number, it takes note of this and then the next time someone reports it, it will show how many community members have already flagged the number. You are able to the same with text messages. Also, it creates a contact list labeled SPAM with all the fraudulent already verified number.

Gave me spam texts after signing up. After signing up with an account to stop spam calls I kept getting from telemarketers and scammers, I started to receive spam texts which I never had a problem with before. Now I get spam texts sent to me everyday and cannot get rid of them even after deleting my account and requesting my phone number from the TrueCaller website be removed, I consistently get the same spam texts everyday now. I will forever hate TrueCaller for doing this to me. I never believed for a minute that I would be constantly bombarded with spam texts after signing up for a service that tells you they help stop spammers and scammers from calling and texting you. I fear the only way to stop the spam texts from coming in at this point is to change my number which is not what I wanted. Find another app or service to sign up for rather than TrueCaller. You may be making a mistake that haunts you daily like it does me.

Still having to block spam/scammers. While Truecaller will identify a caller as spam IF you put it into their app it does nothing for the ten plus illegitimate calls I receive daily. Nor does it block spam messages, which I get frequently, though by no means as often as calls. Also, reporting/plugging the number into the app and blocking there does not actually BLOCK the calls. Truecaller has proven to be like all the other so called apps that block scammers. “Plug the number in and we’ll block it...” “We’ll identify scammers and block them...” so far a big pile of steaming BULLSPIT (you all know what I’m really saying.) Not only does it not work but I get notifications all the time telling me to support them by upgrading to premium. So glad I didn’t.

Useless and breaks your number. Like many I was getting harassing calls and searched for a way to stop them or ID unknown numbers. I installed Truecaller and it did not work at all. The only option it gave was to search existing numbers through the app. It did not block the harassing unknown callers or reveal their number at all. However my dentist did inform me they tried to confirm an appointment and got messages my number was not in service, and eventually was forwarded to a company that told them I did not work there. Nothing ever rang on my phone or showed in any call logs. They confirmed the right number but cancelled my appointment. I did reach out to support and they only replied asking me to set up an account of their website. No other response or info. Beware. There is no real use for this app and you’re more likely to create more problems than solve any.

DON'T INSTALL THIS APP!!!. I've registered my phone number to the National Do Not Call Registry and I was getting a couple spam calls per month. As soon as I installed this app the number of spam calls drastically increased. Since they want you to upgrade their pro/paid version they share your number with the spam callers, so you'll get frustrated from the spam calls and pay them to stop it. It's like the antivirus applications who puts viruses to your computer to make their service valuable. I presume this applies to most spam blocking apps. All in all installing this app was the biggest mistake I made; it's been 2 weeks and I'm getting at least 5 spam calls per day. Do not make the same mistake. Try national do not call registry first. If you're still getting more than 5 calls a day then you can install a spam blocking app.

Finally updated, but now take MANY minutes…. So I saw someone state that theirs does update but very slowly. So I decided to update and waited. If my phone goes to sleep while it it spinning, the update NEVER finishes and I just get a spinning wheel. If I keep my phone away and don’t leave the app and just stare at the spinning wheel, it seems to actually update but after SEVERAL MINUTES, maybe 3-4 MINUTES. It used to take maybe 10-15 SECONDS to update. Not sure why this hasn’t been rectified yet as it’s been going on for OVER A MONTH. Not very responsive, considering all the complaints.

Identified numbers are few and far between. I’ve had this app for a couple of years now. I got it because the spam calls were ridiculous and I can’t afford not to answer my calls because it might be a customer or client or someone I need to talk with. I keep getting bugged every time I open the app to upgrade to premium, however, Truecaller has not really identified the owner of a number for many many months, other than telling me the name of the provider. Why would I want to pay for something that doesn’t tell me the information that I need. In addition, Truecaller has only identified three or four spam calls for me in the last 60 days.

App is worthless now. I used to love this app, and used to tell everyone I know to download it because of how well it blocked spam calls and gave you excellent caller ID. I work in wireless, and used to tell all my customers about it as well. However, in the last 12-18 months it's slowly but surely been going downhill, and now it's completely worthless. It literally blocks no spam calls anymore, doesn't give me any caller ID, and the number lookup took finds absolutely zero names of people or businesses. I will be deleting as soon as I'm done writing my review. I had always considered this a 5 star app, but now if I could rate it 0 stars, unfortunately I would. Developers, if you decide to fix things and make this work as well as it did years ago, please let me know. It was fantastic when it worked, but unfortunately those days are long over.

Worse than the problem it purports to solve. Once this app is on your phone a red screen will pop up saying ‘SPAM’ every time someone on their list calls. This isn’t often - it only blocks a fraction of unwanted calls - but you will always know about it when a spam call comes in. Infuriating! I don’t want to be notified when a spam call comes in - I want it blocked before my phone goes off!!! A far better and simpler solution is just to block unwanted calls from within your phone. Once “block caller” is enabled for a number you will never hear from them again. Nothing. But guess what? You can’t block calls on the Truecaller list, even after the app is deleted. It’s almost as though Truecaller is paid by the spammers!

Company may be selling your phone number. I tried this app for a feature that was once in the app (according to a video I watched) but looks to have been removed. So I deleted the app shortly after — and was suddenly (within an hour of trying, then deleting app) getting spam and phishing texts that I never was getting before. The second such text was spooky — I got a phishing spam text claiming to be my specific bank — right as I was using my banking app. (I know it wasn’t genuine because it referenced a “prepaid card” that I don’t have with my bank — also came from a fake phone number.) So, did it sell my info and also plant spyware on my phone? This app may not be legit.

Needs So Much Improvement. After making sure the correct settings were on, updating my phone, and turning it off and on, I could not get this app to block spammers or spam texts. The only thing it would block were numbers associated with updates I need (USPS, payments made, etc.). I still receive the annoying calls from people who want to buy property I don’t even know and the possible spoof calls where the numbers appear to be real but are not blocked and definitely not people I know. I paid for a premium membership hoping it would work and nothing happened. I still don’t understand the benefits of having a premium membership anyways. Waste of money and energy.

Not as good as it was at first.. Loved this app at first, but now it doesn’t identify most numbers as it did in the beginning. Now I just get a message- the truth is out there, search the web, when I try to find info on the caller. Then you have to pay another company to get the info. I am a paid member of Truecaller, but I am about to cancel. I have now downloaded RoboKiller and it works great, even let’s you use one of their bots for answering or make your own, and recording the call. However, if it is spam or robo call, your phone does Not even ring which is wonderful, you can check on your own without interruptions.

Worst Customer Service I have ever received.. I am not one to leave reviews, in fact this is the first time I am doing this. But I have NEVER experienced the shocking customer care that I have received from TrueCaller. I have been using this app for 6 years without aby issues. Two months ago I upgraded to a new phone. I have been trying to login but continue to get the error “Name is not allowed, please enter a valid name.” I have been in contact with their support team and after verifying my number and identity they still have not been able to assist me with my problem. Their turn around time when it comes to replying to my emails has been appauling. They take weeks between emails. I have now received three emails that seem to be copied and pasted that the issue has been fixed internally and that I can now login. But still nothing works and I have not been given a proper response or solution as to why this is happening. Get a grip TrueCaller.

Increased Spam/Robo Calls. My number is registered under the National Do Not Call list so I rarely used to receive spam, marketing or calls (switchboard) calls. However, since installing and using this app, I’ve gotten at least one spam call per day — sometimes three. After some investigating, I read other app users are having a similar experience regarding this app’s privacy policy. It’s almost as if the app is catering to spammers by providing them with your info. Also, this app only allows you to search numbers after a call or text. It’s not preventive. It does provide some names but most of the time, it doesn’t. Most people are able to self identify with these apps so the results will be whatever information a person has volunteered, which may not necessarily be their legal or government name (i.e., “Mr. L”). Use with caution.

Simple to use - Effective - Spam Blocker. I have had "truecaller" installed on my phone for close to a year and have had no buggy glitches or annoyances from the interface. It does a wonderful job identifying and sending the majority of SPAMMERS straight to VM and out of my life 😉. I am an IT Professional but I have suggests it to many friends and family who are not tech savy because of the ease of setup and straightforward navigation of the app menus. Give a try !! The worst that could happen is it sends a caller you may have wanted to get through .. to VM. So just an extra minute or two spent to find out and call them back. But for the number of True Spammers it sends away .. that small inconvenience is well worth it IMHO ! 😎✌️

Doesn’t work. I’ve been using this app for about 3 years, and lately I think there is a problem with iOS or is not compatible anymore because the call blocking & identification part that used to appear before to activate the Truecaller options doesn’t appear anymore, it used to worked when I uninstalled the app but it does not work anymore. So sad to loose this app P.S it also doesn’t work anymore with other spam id apps

Still messed up!. I use it for searching an unknown number every now and then. But it's pathetic because first of all, i should be seeing the name of caller as soon as i get the call. It happens sometimes and the name is below the number during the call, but rarely. Secondly, when i copy the number and try to use Truecaller widget, it just doesn't do anything. I then have to open the app to search! The widget doesn't stay active even on the iPhone 11. Just like Google apps, every update tries to make it look pretty but in the process the app is losing its essence!

Has yet to block one single call. I receive 3-4 robocalls a day from different numbers and thought I would give this app a chance. I've now had it for a few months and can say it has failed to block ANY of these calls. I thought it would block at least a few of them but nope. So far every single spam call I receive still comes through with no problems. I report every single one but because they spoof different numbers they just keep on coming! I'm just happy I didn't pay for the app since it appears they rely on us to report these issues for them instead of them proactively blocking the spoofed calls.

Didn’t block spam calls. I downloaded Truecaller because I got a ton of spam calls in a few hours. I don’t usually get very many, maybe 1-2 per week or so. But I randomly got 13 spam calls in less than 3 hours today. I read that the FTC recommends using a spam blocker app so I tried Truecaller. Three calls came through after I downloaded it and followed its instructions. It also identified a non-spam text as spam and I can’t identify it as not spam. I read the Truecaller FAQ which said a conversation will automatically be moved to non-spam when you reply to it, but this particular message is a promotional message from a company that I subscribed to. So I can’t respond to the message to remove it from the spam section of my messages. I’ll try a different app

Works - sort of.... The fact that the spam database has to be updated daily is a huge setback. I have to manually open the app and click update every day or otherwise spam calls go through. Why? In fact spam calls go through anyways. I was getting a dozen each day even with updated spam list. The funny thing is that after hanging up on a spammer I always check the number against Truecaller database and 90% of a time, the number is on their block list. And yet the call goes through anyways. I am not sure why this happens and have the app all needed permissions. Anyways I just installed an ATT call protect app and it blocked 7 spammers within a couple of hours as I can easily see from the log. Only one went through but the app warned me that this was a telemarketer. I understand that the Truecaller technology is not as the one ATT app uses but but there is night and day difference in results. Thank you for helping me but it looks Like there is a better solution for me as of now.

Sketchy privacy policy! Ironic given the nature of the app.. Truecaller is actually an Indian company or at least they funnel your data through an Indian she'll company if you are a non EU user. I'm guessing this let's them do sketchier things with the data they collect when you install this app like your contact info and the people in your phone book etc. Their privacy policy also says they will use your contact info to send you targeted advertisements etc. Kind of ironic given this app is supposed to help protect your privacy and reduce spam calls. Just goes to show you never know what you're getting until you read the rules. Surprised apple allows this on the app store. Cue: defensive response from developer in 3..2..1..

Newbe. Haven't had this app long enough to properly review it, but it's bugging me for a review right off the bat! So this is what they get till I use it. Up Update: Now that I’ve had this for quite some time and learned the best ways to use it. I actually enjoy Truecaller a lot for checking numbers that call me to find out who the number belongs to and I can block the ones I don’t want to call me any more. Truecaller has become my most useful tool to cut out spam callers as well as other unwanted callers I have no desire to talk to!

Suggestion. I got the True Caller App and I like it a lots. The reason I can’t give a 5-Star rating is because the policy is to not automatically block spam callers. The reason given is that sometimes there might be something important to me. There is nothing important to me about a scammer and everyone else should feel the same way. My personal line of defense is that I don’t have a trusting nature. There are others who do have a trusting nature and scammers have done and will continue to day great harm to those people. For that reason I think know spammers deserve any break whatsoever. I suggest automatically blocking known spammer. I don’t know of any other call screening and blocking app which will not auto-block known spammers.

No longer effective. I have used Truecaller for the past 3 years. It was great at identifying mystery numbers, especially those reported by other users as spam. It was integrated into my phone, stopping blocked calls before they rang. And the database updated quickly every time the app was opened. Deservedly, it was picked up by reviewers as an effective tool. But for the last 5 mont, the app has been totally useless. It does not update its database on opening, and updating it manually is very, very slow. It rarely finds the numbers calling me and no longer blocks them. Short story is that it was once a 5-star app and now is a 2-star app. I'm moving on to something else. What happened, Truecaller - did fame go to your head?

Unblock my Number. I have been getting SPAM calls from numbers from +972 and +970 since October 2018. On my whatapp and viver and even direct calls. I have blocked 300+ numbers so far. And still get harrased daily by these people. They have listed my number on TrueCaller as Spammer by 110 people. Who are Ofcourse the spammers. Today i just to know that True Caller has lsited me as a Spammer and i had never used TrueCaller ever in my life. Viber has blocked my number since November 2018 and refused to unblock me. Its my official registered number. I suggest TrueCaller to remove me from this block list.

Used to be a great app. I’ve had this app for many years and it worked great. However, within the last 12-18 months it started disappearing from the share contact option on the call info. No matter how much I update or check the settings nothing works. The app is more of an inconvenience if I have to copy the number from the phone icon to then open the Truecaller app to search and block the number. I know you will blame Apple for this but it makes no sense you putting out a product that doesn’t work with the phone operating system.

Notification Badges Won’t Clear. Truecaller is a very comprehensive spam blocker that uses the cloud for it’s Assistant AI feature to deal with calls. So far so good. I was on the trial period. Truecaller handles all voicemails. The big problem in my experience is that the notification badges remain after the Assistant listings have been seen or listened too (voicemails). I did send in an email to support but in the meantime I have deleted the app and cancelled the trial subscription. I really don’t have the patience to jump through hoops to find a fix.

Blocks spam, but not if they’re collection agencies!. I got this app, TrueCaller, and its only works part of the time. Understanding there are constantly new numbers added to the spam list, I expect to update the app database daily. Not that big of a deal. The problem is, it clearly identifies a spam caller, but still allows some through. I have found it blocks legitimate spam calls as I recently put my resume online and immediately began getting spam calls. I bought the new iPhone X 256GB, but neglected to turn the blocking options on in settings. Once that was done, no more spam calls... or so I thought. The calls I was receiving, promising job opportunities, required me to sign up for more school. Holding two bachelors and a masters degrees, I politely told the first few I had no interest in school and explained my education level. If you refuse their persistence in signing up for school, they rudely say they can’t help. Truecaller stopped these. However, while clearly marked in red a call is spam and you answer, you will find they let collection agency calls through. I’ve had my number for 10 years now and still get collection calls for someone I don’t know! I haven’t found any better app out there, though, so the collection calls will have to manually be rejected.

😏. This app used to be good. Before when you copy number to search, it will automatically ask you to paste and search it. After some kind of update on the app this feature has stopped working and you will have to copy and paste then search manually. In addition they won’t find the name for the number you searching for like they do before. It’s kind of annoying. I wish they bring back the old version.

Saved contacts I would have lost upgrading my phone.. I am very glad I installed True Caller on my last phone and now this phone because when I upgraded to an Apple phone I had trouble transferring everything and wound up with only a portion of my contact list. I had all my customers I’d spoken to within the last 4 years on my previous phone before upgrading. Thanks to True Caller I got many of them back because when I installed their app on my new phone they still had all my information since I started using them, several years ago, as a caller ID and Blocker. I actually just realized they would show up in my Outlook on my phone and am very excited and happy to have all the numbers I saved for customers or potential customers who had called in for various reasons. I now once again know if they have called before and what ever info I had for them except I don’t think the notes saved. Not sure yet. THANK YOU TRUE CALLER! I really appreciate your service!!

Blocks safe numbers and let’s through phishing scams. I was disappointed with how many delivery scam text messages got through this system even with a premium subscription. It very rarely identified scam text messages as junk. On the opposite side it started moving safe messages for Australia post and ING to my junk folder. It’s a good idea in theory and maybe it will get more effective with time as it’s database becomes more comprehensive but right now it’s just as likely to cause as much annoyance and distribution as the scam messages themselves.

Doesn’t work with iOS.. This app does not work with iOS 14 at all. I tried reinstalling, updating, rebooting and there is no option to select Truecaller from the “call blocking and identification” Contacting support is useless. You explain what you have already done and even provide screenshots and they just reply with a standard reply asking you to try what you have already done. If it doesn’t work ok iOS, please just admit it and refund all the unused portion of the subscription fees.

Privacy concerns. I like the idea of this app, I’m sick of scam calls but I don’t like the idea that people can connect my name with my number and contact me if they have this app. It’d be very rare but it doesn’t sound safe and there should be more privacy.

Not sure what the point of this app is. I got this app thinking that it would stop me getting calls from spammers but it hasn’t made any difference? I still get the calls, then when I type the spam numbers into truecaller search it confirms the numbers as spam and then gives me an option of blocking…but I can already do that without the app….

Doesn’t work. You can look up unknown numbers, which is fine I guess, but even the premium version doesn’t actually block numbers. I ran premium for a month with full permissions (calls and sms) and it didn’t block or alert me to a single spam call, even when the calls had been registered as spam by other users. Waste of money.

Saves you time. This app will warn you on screen if a number is from a known telemarketing sales spam number (or scam number) when the phone is ringing. And never answer your phone from a blocked number, if they really need to talk to you they'll leave a message. Make sure you keep the spam list up to date everyday.

Good but not perfect. Great service to identify scammers, prankers and other unknown numbers. Dependent on using customers contact lists though, so some / many are unidentifiable. Problematic interface in newer versions in re management of sms - unless you know to look some important messages don’t appear in inbox and it is hard to transfer those to get them showing up in inbox thereafter. Though I think this is a premium feature.

Great app. Even though I’m not a Premium member I still find this app the best one when it comes to receiving those pesky annoying calls. Just add the number & straight away find out who they are!

Unable to make calls with this app. Being able to check who is calling me when they are not in my contacts has been a really good feature. But I have contacted support because I still can’t get my microphone access to be used by Truecaller. I can’t make calls through this app and I was told it was because apple doesn’t allow certain features like the microphone to be accessed properly. Nowhere in my settings can I toggle my microphone on with Truecaller.

Not so great anymore. I have been a loyal customer was true caller for years now and unfortunately I’m really disappointed. They have changed all the pricing as I purchased. What I believed was the paid for version only to find out later on at all. My money did was take away the ads, very disappointed, and now if I want to be able to see who is calling me which is the whole point of using this app I have to pay more money. Will be uninstalling at the end of this payment round.

True caller rip off. I paid $11-98 for 2 months of this app it did not warn me of any of the probability 200 scam and fraud calls I got during the 2 months not even 1 of them then they send me an email every day we want you back I reply that I want my $$ back as I received nothing for my money nothing at all they say we’ve made a ticket for you someone will be in touch in the next 24 hours but no one ever does this has been my daily run around for 2 weeks now same every day they have taken my money and given me nothing at all in return I call that theft I WANT MY $11-98 BACK it’s that simple but they won’t reply DO NOT GET THIS APP IT DOESNT WORK THEY JUST STEAL YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY THEN WONT CONTACT YOU FOR A RESOLUTION! Helpful. Good app with a few challenges which seem to be fixed with each update. Currently pressing the FAQ link sends you to an invalid site. I am also having trouble correcting SMS incorrectly being moved to junk. I am unable to find the recent list for them as I can with calls. But overall it has saved me from many potential issues especially with the new wave of spam delivery messages.

Needs an update. This app is pretty good, but since I’m on iOS 14 it crashes and the contacts symbol on the bottom is missing so you can’t see your contact list. Please fix this because for some reason it’s not detecting spam calls.

Missing action. I like the app it has been most helpful though after its last update there has been slight changes and I have lost the ability to tag the numbers ringing me, also it doesn’t pick up international origins of numbers I know are coming from the uk

When it works …. App Seems to have a few issues… support response to email “some services are discontinued” - if that’s the case then why charge for this app which now isn’t doing what the advertising says it SHOULD… especially so when I’ve paid for Premium

True Caller is Malware. True caller scapes your contacts and puts all their phone numbers and names for other people to search. This data is also accessible to 3rd parties. If you have not done so already contact truecaller to Unlist your number and not be subjected to being on their database.

I'm happy. I agree with others that spam calls have increases exponentially in Australia and now we are subjected to scammers, extortion calls, and ID theft attempts. Personally I no longer answer calls from numbers not in my contacts. The "Look Up" function in this app allows me to check if the call was from a legitimate address/company. I can then block and/or report as spam, adding to the data base. I'm not willing to have SMS messages forwarded to True Caller due to the sensitive nature of one time passwords, banking and other data.

What’s gone wrong?. Usually a great app and I promote it to everyone who complains about spam calls but since ios14.5 the app keeps telling me to turn on blocking in settings and then proceeds to take a long time to take me to settings where guess what? They are already turned on. Have tried deleting and reloading but still happens - very annoying please fix this am losing faith

Truecaller App. I am unable to access Apps etc after changing my Password etc with the Visa Card etc many times to update etc? I did ring Apple for Help last week, thought the problem was fixed but still reoccurring etc. Customer Service is difficult for older people with limited technology experience etc so all this is causing almost as much stress as the multiple Scammers etc! Only useful if you can finance the top cover. Unless you can pay the top cover of $299. Yearly then I have found that I tend to tell them if it’s a scam or marketing. I’m sure a lot of people hate being harassed by these calls but I am still getting them and having to google to find out who the numbers belong to. Not worth paying a monthly fee for this app if you have to let them know 🙁

So far I’m happy. At first I thought I was taking a bit of a risk downloading this app. I thought you could search up any number and it would display all their personal information. I was wrong. I feel safe on this app now. It works perfectly for me.

Now more scam calls than ever undetected by this app. When this was a free trial, I was advised by Truecaller if they were scam calls and texts. I decided to pay the subs for a year and now I am absolutely inundated with scam calls that Truecaller is not picking up. In fact, since paying for this app, Truecaller has not detected any of the 30 scam calls I have received. Waste of time and money!!

No longer works. Was working great until a couple of weeks ago. Now, no matter how much I press the “update” button on the app since new spammers were identified, it does the circle thing as if complete but then still says I need to update it instead of turning to green. Will be deleting.

Great App. What a great app! So far it has blocked all incoming spam calls and the block list is constantly expanding. It would be even better if an option to silence, auto-block and send to voicemail would be available for spam calls also.

Paid version updates are sketchy. When you pay for this app, it promises automatic updates to the caller list. This only seems to happen when you have the app open. It would be great if it did it in the background without the app open and also had a button to update the definitions for a more confident user experience. If there are no updates then it could tell you that. At the moment you have to open the app, wait, and hope for the best. It only tells you when it was last updated, not when you last checked for updates. If I don’t open the app for a while, my list gets outdated and spam calls aren’t flagged. I think the developers could do better for people who are paying for the app.

Miss X. I've seen so many positive and negative comment on the review… I'm here to write my own review which I thought I could be helpful everyone.. In short I just wanna say this: “Remember This.. In order to sell the weapon the war need to be created…. Pretty Rubbish. I was expecting some important sms but didn’t receive them for a while, upon investigation, I confirmed this stupidCaller was making those as junk, not only those, I found a list of important sms in its junk list. Not a single one really junk. Not to mention, I was getting junk sms often as a normal sms while it was installed. So stupid and rubbish app!

Stable but spam list doesn’t update. This version of the app is stable under iOS 14.6 and works decently well. However the spam list does not update and has not for over a month. Support tells me they have no idea when they will get around to fixing this as they are “concentrating on bugs“. I pointed out that the spam list not updating was rather a large bug. By all means try the app but don’t pay them any money until your spam list starts updating.

Happy but sometimes Really Frustrating…. Used to work!. This app used to work great! Recently though it started saying that “this number is not in truecaller” with nearly every search! This includes searches where it showed a name in the past. Downloaded on another device and set up a new account same problem. Even saved my profile & number went back to the work phone and it still said it wasn’t in the system! Major flaw not impressed.

PAID UP PREMIUM NOT WORKING AGAIN. Why doesn’t my paid up premium features stop working all the time? Getting sick of this badly. Might be time to let go of the truce caller. I have an iPad and an iPhone with two different apple ids and this problem occurs in both devices

Useless without Premium. I’ve been a longtime user with TrueCaller but I think it’s time to look elsewhere. Unknown numbers use to have a name with them, whether it was a legit company or scam call, they were identified with the app. Now, a number calls and you aren’t shown the name until you go into the app, search the number and then it’ll come up. Then you go back into your phone call history and the name is then changed. I’ve missed a dozen important phone calls over the past week now because I’m use to TrueCallers old ways where if it didn’t have a name it would mean it was a number not yet registered with the app. Now because I have to answer every number and I’m also getting a bunch of spam and businesses unidentified, there’s no longer a reason to use this app

Doesn’t even set up properly. I tried to look for “Call blocking & identification” everywhere in my settings and there are no traces of it. I couldn’t activate any protection but the messages one. I have an iPhone 13 so it’s not an old phone… I think I’ll keep going with the traditional “don’t answer if the phone number is not in your agenda”

My phone is usable again. I was at the point I was getting a couple of spam texts a day and a couple of calls. I’d stopped answering anything so my phone was pretty much useless. After installing this a few days later they all stopped. 5 star worthy for sure.

Best App For Australians Wanting A Call Blocker. Fantastic app get great caller ID info when a call comes In & it’s easy to block & report scam & spam calls, I would upgrade to gold but it does seem to be over priced with it being over $200 a year.

App does exactly what it says it does. If you live in Australia then you know that we are currently being inundated with a monolithic plethora of fraud phone calls. Best way to solve that problem? Get this app. I have the free version however the fraud calls are getting that bad I’m thinking of updating to the paid version. Even if you don’t buy it at least download the free version.

Wants my name and phone number for setup - I don’t think so!. Why does it insist on getting your phone number and name? Because they’re trying to make their own phone book. I don’t want everyone I ever ring to know my every detail. I don’t want spammers to either. Ironically the information this app asks for is more likely to increase spam callers, not decrease them. Download, disagree to terms and conditions, delete. Sadly a common scenario these days.

Happy User of some Years now.. I have found Truecaller very effective. Remember to keep App updated as I got 33 spam calls since June 21, until I realised I had not updated my App. Thank You Truecaller.

Cannot Update the Assistant. The assistant feature is great but there is bug where if you update the assistant voice you get a error saying cannot save assistant please try again later. Also you cannot preview the greeting message get a error message.

I question if this app is working. I am getting so many spam calls. I don’t think this app is working anyone more on my phone. Great at first, but I am finding myself googling reverse phone Australia to see if this was a known spam caller. This app does not seem to scan the incoming callers anymore. Not sure what has happened, thinking I might just delete it.

Must have app!. I never have rated application but this one made the exception.. never have I ever been so glad that I found this application, it is honestly a lifesaver and the perfect application everybody should have! Works every single time.

Bug. The product is good, but after uninstalling the app and installing back on the same device you cannot able to access your premium subscription features. In the application itself say you have premium but there is no option to restore to premium subscription back on the same device.

It definitely increases spam calls. It definitely increases spam calls. I preface that I rarely call people and I rarely have people call me. When I say it is rare for me to get phone calls I mean it. I am lucky to have 1 phone call a month at times from ANYONE. Since installing this I have had multiple calls a day. Today I have had 3 in the space of 3 hours, Friday I had 2 calls. My phone hasn’t received calls this frequently in many years (and for a reason). The app might be helpful for screening calls but it also gives people access to your number. I can’t justify having the app after receiving so many calls in such a short time period. It is too coincidental. Even the response from the developer saying “it is a common misconception” - no. I rarely receive calls because I rarely give out my phone number. Receiving phone calls is rare for me. But since installing Truecaller I have received many calls all which are scams. The response from the developer feels like they didn’t even read my review properly and are gaslighting my review.

Really really worth it. My 13yr old son told me about this app and downloaded it for me. I was sceptical at first, I'm not into all this stuff and am very paranoid. But I was getting sick and tired of all these scam/spam calls and now I am very happy that he did it for me. Now I don't get any where near the amount of calls I used to get and when I do get one I can check it out straight away. Pretty cool.

used to work but now terrible. i’m paying for a subscription that seems to disappear and the only way to fix it is to delete the app, restart the iphone ans then subscribe again. The sms authenticator seems to work intermittently and the success rate of calls is pretty average . very disappointed that you can sell a paid service that seems to have major conflicts with IOS

Doesn’t work even slightly. Signed up and paid. Try to activate the digital assistant. I do all the steps they say successful. Every time it tries to test it says activation failed. Now it’s saying I must do it manually and depressed configure manually by pressing the button does absolutely nothing. Deleting.

Five minutes for OTP resend. If the initial OTP never received, the user has to wait for 5 minutes for a resend request. Might as well leave a one star for the app and move on to something else. This will take less time

No automatic blocking. Every time you have to manually check whether a number is a spammer. The problem is that you still get phone ringing every time. Then what’s the difference than the iOS built-in black list?

I tries #67# to disable no luck. There is no way to contact their customer service. I sent e mail but got no response. Now I have to change my phone and phone number to solve issue.

Selling our data to spammers.. Since the installation, ive been receiving more calls from spammers daily. Im suspicious they have sold my personal account info to spammers. Do not recommend.

Versions may different from Country to Country. I have recently come across this app and have found the app very confusing. I have both a US number and a Canadian number, but the platform for the app is very different. In the American version, it comes with the Truecaller Assistant but on my other number, during the setup, it wasn’t even a function that was offered. I also tried to ask the developers but it doesn’t seem like that want to provide feedback. Don’t bother with this app I also have recently attempted to reach out to tech support. A ticket has been opened and days later, ticket was closed without an alert in my email.

True Caller. It doesn’t work properly on iPhones. Apple has its own version of call blocking. That works better than this app!

Bugs and didn't work sometimes. App crash whenever hit”suggest a better name”, because a scam call was named “likely a business” and I cannot change it! Looking forward to seeing improvements.

Spam B GONE. I have had Truecaller for six months, and have not had a single spam call ever since. It’s shocking to me that APPLE the most valuable company in the world hasn’t build this right into their phone! It’s THAT good.

Effective App. I do think this is an effective app, I’ve seen some warnings on numbers it thinks it could be spam. What was most effective was that I became a victim of identity theft and I had a debt collection agency harassing me for a debt I was not responsible for. While I reported it to the bank where it happened and working it out with them, the debt collectors didn’t let up, and when I tried to explain the situation, were nothing but aggressive and threatened with the endless calls. Blocking through the iPhone natively doesn’t help relieve the stress because I see all the missed calls from them. Blocking them through True Caller, completely silenced it all. They may have had another one get through once a week, but I’d just look up who tried calling me, and update it into True Caller. It’s not a perfect app, but it really brought me some peace of mind. A big improvement would be call logs. There doesn’t seem to be a way to view blocked numbers trying to get through. It shouldn’t be notifying, but I’d like to manually check the app and see that it’s indeed working and doing its job.

Useless. And here is why (read below). This app doesnt identify spammers in real time. It simply creates contact in your phone named SPAM with some north american numbers inside which known as 100% SPAM or telemarketing. However, the chance that you will receive call from any of those numbers is 0%. You will be spammed and called mostly by telemarketers in your area. What you can do is to create contact named SPAM yourself and add any spammer/telemarketer there manually every time you receive such call. And if you add that contact to block list (thats the feature of iOS), any call from spammers will go to voicemail automatically. Now regarding $19.99 premium subscription. That is useless too. Most spam calls will come from private cell phone or voip numbers. So search will only show you what city is call coming from and who is phone provider. That is it. No names, addresses or any other useful info (unless that person uses this app too and filled description about himself). You can find that information yourself simply googling that number.

Setup is boof in CANADA. Went through the setup process then it glitched on activation of the voice assistant it dumped me onto a support page for the USA! Completely useless so I’m now stuck wondering what to do as it didn’t onboard properly.

Flat out doesn’t work.... I downloaded this app because I have been getting calls from “No Call ID” for months; up to 10 times in a day. Still getting the calls, and this app doesn’t identify them. Completely useless, all it does is take up space on my phone.

Does Absolutely Nothing. I recently had a phone call which, when I searched, Truecaller identified as "Cra", the Canada Revenue Agency. Of course, it wasn't. I opted to turn on "text filtering", which - as expected - is useless. I can't imagine subscribing to this for the benefit of a badge on my name.

Canada network provider charge money. Hi everyone my personal experience is true caller allows call forwarding with AI assistant. Every call goes to virtual assistance after you is charged by network provider $1.50 each call. Which isn’t worth at all. Im with telus. So make sure to check with provider before you download this app. I paid $20 for my first bill and $10 in next bill. And i was on trial with true caller.

It’s okay. I’ve had a few other call screening apps. This is the third best I’ve had. But the other two good ones eventually randomly stopped working for me… This blocks spam calls just fine. I have found though if someone labels something “safe” like “healthcare” it lets it come through without screening. It annoyingly sends my contacts to the assistant if I don’t answer/decline the call. Which makes no sense. What’s VERY annoying (which I have emailed support about and received no response) is I can’t listen to voicemails! I can see the text of what the AI thinks the person said, but we all know those usually aren’t completely correct…. I have looked everywhere on the app, googled, etc. I cannot find where to actually listen to it!

Used to be great. I’ve had this app for a long time now and it used to be a great way to see who was calling, but in the past year or so the developers seem to be more interested in turning this into a social media and advertising app than actually making it do what it is supposed to. Shame, because it was such a great app before.

Upgraded my phone, lost all my blocked #’s. I loved Truecaller on my old phone an iPhone 6S. Would have given it 5 stars because it worked marvelously !!! I recently upgraded to an iPhone XR now I give you 1 star (would give it no stars if possible) because it doesn’t work. I’ve noticed that none of my blocked list came over from the old phone to my new phone. It doesn’t matter how many times I open the Truecaller app it’s like I’m a new used asking to register every single time. Going to delete it as it’s useless!! Found Call Protect app it’s now I go to blocker for unwanted call & messages.

Please update these features. I’m a good contributor of this application, but I truly require some features for IOS: 1) Always Background Running 2) Unknown Caller Info Displaying during calls ( it’s not visible if you close the app) 3) add another payment option : onetime payment for some limited features add and some other important features - besides subscription fees .

Questions?. App works quickly but navigation is blind, awkward & uncertain. Can't get past a page about, well I'm not sure what the page is about. Instructions are not clear. As of 16 Apr 21: canceled subscription because Never id’ numbers, had to use the recording of voice mail ( or not) to know if caller was legit (distant relatives) or junk. iPhone updates seems to have made it pointless. And since using premium the app has disappeared from share contact screen. Couldn’t do anything with it if I wanted to. So then they tell me to make adjustments in settings which are no longer in existence in settings. B-Bye!

Missed Call Alert. Please enable users not to display missed call names and details when phone screen is locked. A locked phone is supposed to prevent unauthorized access to phone details. Showing who called users when their phones are locked seems like an intrusion into privacy of owners

Have Premium --- Disapointment. I used to recommend Truecaller all the time. Paid for premium a long while now, but sadly the app feels like a former shell of itself. The primary feature of stopping spam calls barely works. A bunch of robocalls still get through unflagged. Number lookup never returns a result, ever. It used to and do so pretty well, but its useless now. Googling the number does a better job. Also it seems the auto-update list toggle doesn't actually update anything as much as it just hounds you with notifications to open the app and manually update it once a day. I won't be renewing premium and will be deleting the app. I'm out.

Does not work as advertised.. I have a small law practice and bought this so that I could know when clients are calling me and use the assistant to screen and handle incoming calls. I set the app up, and it failed to miserably. With screening, I get no more information than the phone app provides. The mess I’d constructed did not play, and my clients cannot leave a voicemail. I stress I get a busy signal. This app does not work as advertised. It is incomplete in every respect. The premium version provides no more features than the phone app, and the additional features promised do not work.

Frustrating. It’s frustrating because you get so little if anything when you check a number. Oh you can pay for premium but my friend upgraded and says she got the same results. So in other words you get nothing with premium too. Only difference is that you’re paying to get nothing. What I do get is calls being blocked that are not spam. And when I try to update it in my blocked list and move it to my contacts it still says “SPAM” for the name.

Newest version is not working. I updated the app and now it constantly tells me spam blocking isn’t working and I need to go to settings and tag all versions of the app which are already tagged. Not sure why there needs to be four versions. I deleted the app and reloaded it hoping that might fix it but it doesn’t. Until it is fixed by the developer this bug makes this app useless and I’m going to delete it and not reload after posting this comment.

Has yet to block one single call. I receive 3-4 robocalls a day from different numbers and thought I would give this app a chance. I've now had it for a few months and can say it has failed to block ANY of these calls. I thought it would block at least a few of them but nope. So far every single spam call I receive still comes through with no problems. I report every single one but because they spoof different numbers they just keep on coming! I'm just happy I didn't pay for the app since it appears they rely on us to report these issues for them instead of them proactively blocking the spoofed calls.

Relief. My number was spoofed , the amount of angry calls I received was absolutely insane. Such a distraction and stressful. What a terrific app! Only wish this was available for email. Thank you very much to the developers, spot on!!! Really love this app it is packed with utilities to simplify features on the phone which the phone manufacturer fails to explain. Sorta like have a watchdog over your phone. Great job

Beware: You may lose voice mails. I used this app for a few months. During that time, I had a number of people tell me they called, left voice mail messages which I never received. I deleted the app, but messages continued to be lost. I Googled “you call voice mail” and found an article of the company’s webpage stating that deleting the app was not enough to stop voice mail from going to their service. However, I was never notified I had voice mail. You need to take an additional four or five more steps to completely delete your account. I felt this was dishonest, and the app felt like a scam to me. I suggest you avoid.

Good for voice. Bad for SMS. This app does a decent job and blocking unwanted callers. For that job, this app gets 5 stars. For SMS, the app creates new tags / Folders on your Messages app. The approach is fine, but…. There is zero control on flagging on how messages get sorted. Truecaller incorrectly flags SMS from Short Codes as spam. I missed a bunch of Covid alerts because Truecaller thought they were spam. With no ability to correct the misclassification in my messages app, this gets a 1 star from me.

Are you responsible for the increase in spam I’m receiving?. I installed this application two weeks ago just to see what it was about. After looking at the features for a few minutes I uninstalled it. Now I’m receiving all kinds of spam messages something I’ve never had a problem with before. Did you sell my number? Do you spam app installers so they subscribe to your product? Yesterday I received a text from someone that included a suggestive picture of a woman. Never have I received spam like this before. Now I’m wondering if you have something to do with it!

Ease of use and efficiency. Truecaller has definitely given me my sanity back. I only use it as a free service so I’m not really taking advantage of everything they have to offer but it’s working fantastically. I’m really enjoying the ability to enter a phone number and find out what it is to report it or save it and that’s just so easy to do so I think them very much

Missed calls from the hospital during an emergency. My dad was taken to the hospital via ambulance. Once there the hospital attempted twice to reach me but unfortunately I ignored their calls, because one time it came up as POTENTIAL SPAM & the 2nd time as SECURUS TECH (whatever that is). So, I would say, error on the side of caution because not every call that’s labeled SPAM is. I didn’t want to take the risk of missing another important phone call so, for that reason, I deleted the app. P.s. my dad is OK thanks to our good Lord 🙏🏼❤️✝️

Recent version loses features and usefulness. I was thrilled with this app when I first downloaded couple years ago. Now it doesn’t auto load the number that just called or I copied as it used to. I literally have checked over 30 numbers with no results at all. It has also become very difficult to tag a spammer. A very useful app has become a waste of space on my phone as I get 3 to 4 spam calls a day and this app no longer recognizes any of them where before it would identify at least 75% of them previously.

Absolutely Useless. tl;dr Don’t believe the hype. Bite the bullet and get NoMoRobo, you really get what you pay for. I’ve been getting 1-2 robocalls a day for the past 6 months. I tried Truecaller, and it was basically worthless. Spammers were constantly changing their numbers and Truecaller failed to do even the most basic filtering and blocking functions it promised. This continues to be the case after uninstalling and reinstalling, double-checking everything, and spending hours reading their pathetic Customer Service forums and searching the web. Even when the app was working like it claimed to be, if the number the spammer used didn’t happen to already be in the database, Truecaller would let it through no problem. Only after reporting it would it be added and blocked, which is useless as what are the odds they’d use it twice? It’s no better than blocking it manually. This is all without even mentioning this company’s very loose interpretation of their customers’ privacy.

Review. I am still trying to figure out how it works but the 15 minutes yesterday I interacted it worked and if they can do what they say the service provides then what a good service it will be in eliminating junk calls from our lives and save us a bunch of wasted time.

Seems To Work. App seems to work as claimed. Can’t really tell for sure but do have one issue…I have a. String of calls under the ‘Assistant’ tab that show as blocked but no way to remove reviewed calls once marked as good or blocked (unwanted) and notification bubble remains as ‘6’ unchecked cals although all numbers have been checked and marked or blocked. Instructions given by maker to clear this do NOT match any sections on my phone t clear this data.

I wish it worked..... Ive had Trucaller for a year. I get two or three spam calls a day, usually robos. Only 10 percent are ‘blocked’ - that is my display shows it as a spam call. Another 20 percent are allowed through but when i search the number in Trucaller it shows as spam (red), but I was NOT alerted when the call came in. Another 30 percent of the calls are found in the database as being reported but there is no alert, no indication of it being spam. The rest are new to Trucaller. One last complaint - Trucaller allows numbers to come through with no alert that I have already reported and ‘blocked’. !

Useful but can be better in so many ways. Cannot mark an incoming call as spam unless its already there in their system. When you get a spam robo call and you copy and paste it all you get is analyze your contacts screen. Please have a way to mark or enter spam calls manually. The system scans your contacts if you give it permission and lets the whole world know about name of your contact when that number is searched by anyone.

Helpful, sort of. I’m beginning to think this app loses performance as you use it and decline to update to the paid version. There are many numbers that my AT&T spam identification app. Initially, most of the numbers who called me were identified by Truecaller. Now, 1 in 5 are appropriately identified. More and more requests to start paying for an ‘improved’ service, less and less effective in identifying the bad guys. I’d be inclined to pay them the extra if not for this. :(

Used to be better; some features taken out. Used to be better six months ago, seemed to catch calls pretty well. Now, it barely catches anything. Definitely not paying for pro now if it doesn’t work, plus the below issues: 1 - Used to be able to enter the app with a number on my clipboard (copied from call logs from a spammer). App used to offer to look it up and block it. Not anymore. 2 - What’s with this manual updating of the block list? Why not auto update it?

With the new update!. With the new update that just happened three days ago, I can no longer use this application. even though I did what they asked of me, which is to go into my phone information and turn on all of its collection information to who is calling or not and if it's SPAM or it’s SPAM!! But now I can’t do anything even though everything is turned on very upsetting.

May 10th Update did NOT fix prompt to turn on problem on iPhone 12 with IOS 14.5.1. Was happy to see the update to fix an annoying roadblock to update the spam database. Was very annoyed and disappointed when it did NOT work and now have to do workarounds to update the spam database. Funky delay in the settings, with the category title to access the activation toggles is a nuiscance. Not happy with the most recent fail of a fix the described problem. Seems unprofessional.

Only lacking 1 thing.... For the most part, I love this app... but there is 1 thing I wish they would fix. I don’t often have a number that I need to look up, but when I do some of them have no information (mostly on cell phone numbers). Hopefully this gets fixed... soon... because the last unknown cell I answered turned out not to be a customer, but a very... strange individual.

Annoying spam text messages fail. OK so I apparently blocked her number at least the block number works however I keep getting these annoying text messages. At least I can block the number however, I’m still getting like annoying text messages like spam text messages and I deleted my sister‘s ex boyfriend off of my phone number, I tried to call him on messenger because he’s an attorney in Houston Texas because she really block annoying spam texts as well including Robo calls. I do watch the news. I’m on use I’m on vine. I’m on everything anyways I don’t have premium on my iPhone.

Too many problems. The app is great for the most part. 8/10 times it will give you the name for whatever number you search and identifies spam. However, the app itself has severe problems. It does not connect. It has been saying problem with connection for a week now. While there isn’t an issue with the connection but the app instead. It is frustrating that you can’t search because the app itself has issues.

Not impressed. I got Truecaller a few years ago and when I first got it, it was awesome. I could plug in an unknown number and it would tell me who it belonged to most of the time. Now, the numbers are always unknown and just give me the cellphone carrier or tell me if the number has been reported as spam. It does not do what it used to do and I find the app rather worthless to me these days. I still get spam calls so it doesn’t block them all - and it never tells me anymore who the unknown numbers belong to.

Really bad developer response. Premium features are like a social app. I spent a lot of time reaching out asking about the premium features as well as why technical things like app blocked numbers could leave voicemails etc etc and the developer simply responded with a form letter saying they made me an account (which I clearly have) and a link to download. It was as if they never read my letter. I also don’t see a reason why spam blocking needs to have social features. That’s insane. Had liked them. Not anymore.

Glitch. You have a glitch in the system. I have turned on the call blocking and identification and all four truecaller buttons but when I open the app it does not recognize that they are turned on. Hasn’t been working for at least the last two months. It was good when it was working, but then I started getting the annoying calls and texts again, it has to be because of this glitch.

😏. This app used to be good. Before when you copy number to search, it will automatically ask you to paste and search it. After some kind of update on the app this feature has stopped working and you will have to copy and paste then search manually. In addition they won’t find the name for the number you searching for like they do before. It’s kind of annoying. I wish they bring back the old version.

Garbage product, non-paid version does not work. This product really is garbage and a waste of your time to install..... the numbers I search are never found. There are so many useful products of this type available, and many of those work great. This developer has really missed the mark, product should not offer a free version if it does nothing to prevent/identify spam. They do offer a paid version, starting at $2.99 per month, which I did not try in light of the fact that they first wasted much of time with the free (useless) version. I wish them luck!

Run it in the background all always. I don't have any problems with this but some of the complaints sound like what my partner had when his settings weren't giving the app enough access. He was getting red "spam" labeled calls; I was getting nothing. I didn't know anything was happening until I looked through custom labeled calls.

Scammer’s App. What calls come through regardless when you use this app. This is a scam now people that have been trying to track me down now have my address and phone number. And block calls now come through even though they say SPAM on them and they are blocked on my Apple phone. Don’t use this app it’s a rip off and I set up to steal your information. Now all of a sudden all creditors have my number and are still able to get through my phone. This is a scammer’s app. They use it to track you and harass you. Once you download it you have been sold.

Inconsistent. I had a difficult time trying to rate this app. I guess it deserves a 2.5. I wonder if the premium edition gets rid of the bugs. Somehow all the numbers I get called by are mobile phone and in order to find out any other information, you have to pay to get a full report. During the past 18 months, I have had the app, it ID’d one number as spam and it turned out to be one of my doctors offices! Glad I didn’t pay for it.

Really happy about it. Truecaller has relieved me from all the scam callers that call repeatedly. I have got scam after scam call for years. But with Truecaller I can finally stop getting repeated calls from the same person. If I wish to know if someone is a scam caller I can type their number in too. Usually it will say scam caller and tell you want they want. I would highly recommend it. It is affordable and gets better constantly.

Locked Out. Truecaller doesn’t allow my cell provider to text me so I was locked out of my cell account when I could not respond to their security inquiry. My cell phone provider (Mint) does not text me from a phone number so I can find no way to add them to the white list. Second, it would be great if there was a quick and easy way to switch off Truecaller so expected calls and texts could be received.

Not delivering its promise. I’ve had this app months now for awhile it was working but ever since the past updates the promise of blocking of spam/scam calls has been broken. Calls getting through has drop none to weekly to daily now. Whats even worse the calls getting through are sometimes the ones I’ve blocked and others base in data so my trust on this app is very close to non existent so unfortunately I can’t say I recommend this app in fact I feel this app is a scam to forcefully buy premium and telling how the maker of this app really fill the gap of rich/pay and poor/freedom.

Unbelievable!. I have recently swapped from my iPhone 12 promax to an iPhone 14 Pro and after following instructions on how to restore the purchases if you change phones, but it still will not allow this to happen. I paid $89 for a whole year of silver plan that doesn’t come due until December 24, 2024 I’ve made two request trying to contact Truecaller but when I go to where it asked to follow the ticket number it asked me to login and it won’t even take my login and I try to reset the password but it still won’t even send me the email to reset my password. get it together Truecaller

Can’t be uninstalled?. I installed this app, then uninstalled it after a couple months because it is incapable of stopping callers with spoofed caller ID numbers (which is 99% of spam calls anymore). BUT truecaller is still screening my calls, even though I’ve uninstalled it! I know this because I actually got a call from a legit telemarketer today with a non-spoofed caller ID and the red truecaller screen came up. I checked in Settings and the App Store and there is no indication that truecaller is still installed or that it has permission to screen my calls. But it is anyway. I guess I may have to reset my phone to get rid of this thing.

As of recent hasn’t been blocking. So far so good when I first downloaded this 5 months ago but in the last month it hasn’t updated the list of blocked calls and again I’m starting to get random calls. Maybe there are scam callers out there who are smart enough to get through your flag signatures. Please please update the block list again it was going well until recently where it was no longer blocking spam and scam callers.

Lots of false positives for MFA codes. This app has nice features but has a tendency to put MultiFactor codes into the spam folder so you won’t get them. The only way to “fix” it is to create contacts for all the accounts your MFA logins may come from. That is not a reasonable option. They also have added a horrible “feature” called “Who viewed my profile” to let spammers know who is looking to see if those they called are wondering about them so they can either call them back from a different number or not. This is making these folks a tool of the spammers!

Going downhill. Update: I’m done and deleting the app. It hasn’t identified a call as spam in weeks and yet when I share the number with the app it’s labeled spam or “health insurance scam” or something similar. This app is no different than just blocking each number on your phone after they come in. Do not be suckered by the high reviews. They’re fake or old. Original review: Does a poor job at blocking spam. Maybe 1 in 10 calls is identified as such but even those are still put through. It seems the app is becoming more focused on becoming what’s app instead of blocking spam calls.

Good & helpful, but.... If you have a phone number in your phone contacts & you want to know the owner of it, it will not gives you the right information, it picks the data of your phone only, this should be modified so I can see the other names of the number I'm searching for, one more thing, it’s tilting too much nowadays, very slow & can’t type the numbers normally Fix it please

Works...... Works well to a point. Most of the time I end up copying the number and Truecaller does a great search. Then I google who that company/ person is then decide whether or not it’s spam. I’m using the free app.... so.... can’t ask for much more. It does block known spam numbers and will block and report numbers you add. So.... I’d download this app for free again!

Good but could be better. I’ve had Truecaller for over a year as a recommendation from my sister. I recommended it to my daughters and neighbors. It seems to block a few spam (2 or3) callers each day however plenty get through. My phone rings alllll day. Also my phone rings several times before Truecaller identifies a call as spam. Numbers I look up have NEVER BEEN IDENTIFIED! Just the carrier which is nothing. Why can’t all number be identified and why do we have to PAY for better spam blocking when calls still get through .
