Fun and addicting. Love it. It's fun an addicting I would suggest lowering the time to have energy so you can get more energy faster or lower how much energy it costs to do some of the things. I do like that unlike some other games it doesn't take hours to build something. Also maybe a few more quests to make more diamonds instead of always having to buy them cause wanting to build expansions is hard without diamonds or even lower how many diamonds needed and raise how much money is needed for expansions

Well.... I thought this game would be great to past the time but it gets complex when trying to earn diamonds and energy bolts. The game only gives you a few and to move forward you would need to purchase more or exit out of the game for a while. Other than this complexity it's a fun game.

Too many gems required. It's a fun game probably one of the best building games out there honestly, but the game itself requires you to actually spend money in order to move forward with your city. You either pay for gems to get expansions or you have to go through a tedious process of watching 10 ads every 11 minutes. Those 10 ads only add up to one gem. Progress and growth become stagnated. The game is no longer fun after the first day.

Awesome Game. Love this game it’s a great way to kill time I would love to play the game more but you need to many diamonds. But really please tell me why should you need diamonds to get more space I mean really. I realize that they have the game this way most likely to make money because it’s so hard to get diamonds for free so they force you to buy diamonds that’s the only way you can really play the game. And I think that’s a shame because not for the diamonds this game would get a 5 star rating no question!!!

Fun but too hard to move forward. You need diamonds to expand, but it’s too hard to gain diamonds without using real money. You have to watch 5 minutes worth of ads to get ONE free diamond, and even then, sometimes it doesn’t even give it to you. Please make it easier, or add other ways, to get diamonds. The game is no fun if I can never level up.

Fun game, but incredibly frustrating to expand. I really enjoy playing this game but it’s so hard to get diamonds which are needed for expansion. I have 24 million dollars but I can’t spend it on more land to build more buildings because I do not have diamonds. Even the in game rewards system doesn’t give them often, and watching the videos to get diamonds requires watching 10 videos to get one diamond. And as each subsequent expansion requires more diamonds, in game progress is slow. And even when I do purchase land expansions, most of them come with an obstacle you have to remove with diamonds. It’s designed to force you to pay real money for diamond packs which is very irritating. I like this game but I am so fed up with not having enough diamonds to improve my city.

Not happy. This game is not like the other games. It not fun like other ones. This one is about you spending money. The blue gems you use cost too much . everything you want to do you need the blue gem . I watched video after video when I finally got to the last video the game stopped working. When the game came back it brought me back to the first video. I was a fan of the old virtual city playground games , I thought this would be more exciting. This game was made to make money. I prefer to buy the game then keep buying the gem .

Love except…. Love this game and I’ve been playing for years. I wish the energy recharged faster or things would be built in time and you could use energy on it if you wanted. Also some of the prices of things are outrageous and you have to spend actual money to really build past a certain point which defeats the whole point in playing the game

Needs some easy ways. The game is nice but you all should not be so greedy with the diamonds since we need them to expand our city so please make it easier instead of use watching so many ads just to get them,I would not mind doing quest for them .. please G5 games.. please

Too much spending real money to get what you need on a virtual game that rips people off. I hate that you need gems to do everything and that it takes a while to get power needed to upgrade your city. It is also annoying that you need gems and/or power points to move buildings or decorations or to destroy them as well as needing so many gems and coins to destroy mountains.

Enjoyable, but hard to expand without diamonds.. I’ve had this in the past, and gave it another shot, and currently it’s cool, but there is a limit of how much you can do in a hour, and the fact that in order to expand your city, you have to use a lot of diamonds, and even then there are obstacles like hills that you have to spend even more diamonds which makes it feel like a pay to progress kinda game.

Good concept... but.... I like the idea, and the play of the game very much... but, I have a major issue with being nagged to subscribe to this, follow us on that, get your friends to follow us and subscribe, post everything on Facebook. Nah. I just wanted to play a game. Not integrate that game with my whole life and everyone I know in it!! I don't even mind paying a few bucks, but this pushiness... For these reasons, I'm out.

Unhappy. I really don’t like that you can’t moe forward without purchasing diamonds. Not everyone has unlimited funds to purchase in-app purchases. Some of us are on disability and guard their meager money. Lynne

Crashing on open (updated). I used to play this game all the time on my phone and loved it, but now it crashes on the loading screen when I open it. I’ve tried everything and it just won’t run. I would even start over if I could but can’t figure out how to reset or unlink my account. Update: got the game to start working again.

On the fence. I have been playing this game off and on for years. I really enjoy it but keep getting stuck and not wanting to continuously keep buying diamonds. I stop playing for awhile but this last time I’ve been playing with really no issues until lately. I try to log on to play and am able to replenish supplies some but then get kicked out of the game. I have uninstalled and reinstalled twice now. What is going on?

Needs Work. For every game, consumer happiness should be a major aspect and while this game has its ups, it fails to meet that aspect. The mere fact that in order to play this game you need money for everything with no way to reliably earn, in game diamonds for expansions is unacceptable. The feature for earning diamonds should either be expanded for better reliability like buying diamonds with in game currency or removed all together.

Too Many In-App Purchases. I've barely started this game, and I can already see that this game requires diamonds to do just about anything. The problem is, you can either sit and watch ads for two hours, or pay actually money to get them. Neither option seems worth it to me. If they had a better way to get diamonds, I'd definitely rate higher.

Not optimized for full-screen phones.. I used to really enjoy this game. But there are many issues with it: 1. Not optimized for full-screen iPhones. I have the 11 Pro, and there are half-inch borders on either side of the screen. It looks like the developers simply did not care to make this game enjoyable on the new device. 2. Excruciating load time!! When I had the 8+, I thought the game loaded slow, but thought it would be better with a newer device nope. Still takes at least three ministers for this game to load. 3. Gameplay. The later objectives are impossible to reach because doing so required in-game purchases, and there is no way around that for a number of tasks. Meaning, you wind up in a dead-end game, unable to expand (which costs diamonds which you have to buy with real money), and likewise unable to complete the tasks. It even costs diamonds (again, real money) if you want to destroy a building you previously purchased! 4. Redundancy. Sooner or later, you’ll end up just watching traffic and the looking at the recycling plant. It gets real boring real fast. 5. Developer abandonment. This is probably the worse thing. The devs are unresponsive to my emails, and this game is definitely hasn’t been update in at least two years. With all of this, I guess it’s time for me to abandon the app as well. Too bad.

Addicting. I’ve played this in the past on the computer but the game crashed and I couldn’t get my city back (had been playing for months) Love the game, wish it was easier to get diamonds, easier to play on pc than on phone but I always have my phone with me so bonus.

Another fun game ruined with a freemium wall. Fun up until you have to buy diamonds with actual human money to continue. Can't do anything anymore unless I pay for expansions. Awful and disappointing. I am entirely willing to spend money on a good game, but I am not willing to continuously funnel money into a game because of you made the most important currency too difficult to obtain. I hate that the rewards are tied to Facebook. I will never post a game to Facebook because I try my best not to be an irritating grandma on social media. Get it together and let me know and when you can pay up front for more features, or when you remove the pay wall that makes your game go from super fun to being stuck indefinitely within a day or two of play.

Cool. A great game👍 what I like about it is you know how games have landmarks well it has great landmarks the only thing missing is the freedom tower but other than that it’s great but it has a dark side it takes forever and there is stuff that adults do and it is a kids game👎😡😡😡 but other than that it’s great 👍😊😊😊

Fun game. Very fun but slow to load. Also hard to expand your city if you don't want to buy investment points. I'd rather just buy the game! Changing my review from 3 to 1star....waited 7 mins for game to load!!!! Not worth it. I have boatloads of money I can't do anything with because i don't have 8 investment points to buy another expansion!! Loaded it last night after not playing for 3 hrs and still only had 18 energy. Deleting this game. If you are reading reviews, know that they give you points for reviewing it early in, so most of these reviews are written before you get far into the game and these loading issues happen as well as the discrepancy between earning and using investment points.

Addicted. I downloaded this game because I was also playing G5 supermarket mania and I got addicted as this is not your average building the city kinda game. For this one you have to make sure everything is interconnecting and working fine so it got my brain worked up. For gems you can either buy or cleverly finish some quests to earn it but it’s do-able like that to level up.

Just why?. I remember when this game was good, cost straight premium currency to expand but wasn’t impossible to obtain f2p, now it costs premium currency to EVEN REMOVE BUILDINGS WHAT? It used to be like 500 regular currency and now I cant even remove terrible housing to make room for better? Or remove decor for better more efficient ones? Just why? Why must you hurt us in this way?

Fun but costs to have fun. It’s a fun game for world builders and has lots to coordinate and play with. Only thing I don’t like is that there’s gems and you have to pay for these or get them very slowly through the game play and watching adeverts and lots of game play things need them at a certain point.

It's okay. I started playing this game 3 days ago and I'm starting to get bored with it already. It has good graphics but it seems like I'm just doing the same thing over and over only I have to wait for my energy to build in order to do it, which I do not like to have to do. It's an okay game but I also have the "Township" game & I play that SO MUCH MORE.....Sorry!!!!!

Slow progress. I like this game and it takes me back to the other paid version of virtual city playground back a few years. However, the progress in this game is much slower. You need the diamonds to unlock buildings and more land. They are hard to get without paying for them. Please, make it a bit easier to get diamonds even by watching ads and more people will enjoy the game.

The fun until you have to pay to continue. Playing the city game was fun for a little bit. After having a couple hours of game time I can no longer proceed in the game unless I pay money. You need to get germs to buy more land and you need germs to destroy buildings. It’s actually ridiculous how short you can play for having to pay real money just to continue for a little bit I don’t have to pay more money.

Well it’s okay!. This game is great but when I watch 10 ads and get only ONE diamond is bad. For ten ads we should get about ten or five diamonds plus the ad doesn’t load most of the time so I have to exit out of the game and go back in and it might work. Also, with all the transportation vehicles I was surprised not to see a train and a station. Also, I would like to see states and highways as well. This can be done and if it is this game will become better.

I like the game but their a cons and goods. So first the cons. One pls add some kind of daily diamonds get or something the diamond collecting is so annoying and I made 3M dollars just bye getting five grain farms and grain sellers Second goods. The recommendations are for me and other people they should add a bigger map better graphics and a new virtual city of to!

Crazy ways to make it impossible to play. So, like most these games this game's business model is making their customers pay to make things go faster. Especially the energy. Not it has this thing called fire, which happens all the time, playing or idol. So you come back an hour or so later, and half your city needs repairs, which drains all your energy so you can't actually improve your city. And, best of all, then you might be tempted to use the roulette wheel to gain some extra energy... don't be fooled, your city will also ignite while you're out there watching the video.

Pathetic. This game isn’t even a joke, it’s actively mocking me, the developers, and anyone who comes across it. I’m not a huge fan of idle games, but I’ll play and enjoy (and even spend money on) good ones. This is not one of those games. It’s unbelievably slow and tedious from the very start. At least most games of this nature will start off fun to hook you, but this game lets you know from the start that you’re gonna need to pay reeeeeaaally well to do anything. The original Virtual City was great, I absolutely loved it. And you take it down? For what? This game? This boring, money grubbing, run-of-the-mill idle game???? Disgusting. Pathetic. I would paid decent money upfront for the original, and that just makes this game even more loathful.

Love it!. I do love this game but I used to play it on my laptop until it keeps crashing whenever I try to open it because my town was too big maybe, I haven’t been able to play in a long time. So now I got a new one on my phone because I love playing this game!

Game. Game ok so far . I just got started we will see how it go. Don't like you need energy for everything. Hope getting energy get easier. I will report back later because I'm just getting started. We shall see. That why I don't write reviews they want you to write to much.

Holy Molly. It's so awesome better than some pc games but had its pros and cons. But cool features to add are like for resupply make it so if I press it it re fills all sho0s/ factory’s. Second maybe expand the map further out like add ocean as a barrier or something and giving maybe more of a terraforming capablity but to a point.

Better then most. It's better then most city building games! It has the typical you need to wait for "this" so you can do "that" but that's in every game. I wish it gave more gems because you need them to expand.

Old school charm. This was the first ever virtual town building game I played. I fell in love. I’m really into the task & was to get extra diamonds. It would be like really super if the game was updated to have a better experience on my iPad. The draw back is the game will not go full screen 😒 and zoom doesn’t help 🤦🏾‍♀️ not at all. I have to use a magno to increase size to read instructions & see the visual art. The game is grt and addictive - please update to meet IOS SPECIFICATIONS. also a virtual 2-5 would be even better!!! Fun, but..... It's a really cool game, but I wish you didn't have to wait so long for energy because everything in the game costs energy. I like how the game gives you opportunities to gain extra energy and diamonds, but it's a little stingy when it grants you them😂. I did, however, just start playing today, so I guess I'll see how it goes from beyond today. Overall, it is really fun and it reminds me of Rollercoaster Tycoon, but you're building a city.

Good. I like it so far but progression is a bit slow and it makes you use energy to move around buildings. Also I can't move the screen up high enough to check on some of my bulildings. Like they are off Map. All and all I have fun playing it but it can be frustrating.

Love the game, dislike freemium. I used to play this game all the time before it brought along all the freemium features. Things like the energy mechanic make it so the game doesn’t reward you for being better with your resources. I’d rather pay $5 for this game because I love it and want to play it forever.

It’s a good builder. I had the original Virtual City before they decided to over-monetize it and make the play time based. I loved that, but they discontinued it. This one is okay. Same mechanics, just pay to play for any length of time. It’s a good builder, but not too impressed by the free play you get.

Very fun, but crashes often. I played this game from 2012 to 2013 and stopped cuz it eventually kept crashing at startup. I rediscovered it here at the end of 2021 and it continues to crash on/off, but now during gameplay, deleting any progress made. It’s frustrating. G5 Entertainment needs to continue to monitor even if this game is old (the last app store update was many years ago).

App is Crashing. Was fun to play but there came a point where the app stopped working. I had created an account and then problems started to arise. I have deleted and re-downloaded the app and now it’s won’t even start! This is aggravating given that I was an idiot and spent money for diamonds to build out the city and now everything that I did is no longer accessible! UPDATE:At the reinstalling the app, it is crashing on both my Mac and this phone. It does not load. I don’t understand this. Reinstalling an app should fix it, not make it worse!!!!!

Sad to see what happened.. Over the course of 5 years I’ve been obsessed with the game spend nearly $500 plus on my first city. I was young and foolish. Unfortunately a encountered a game breaking issue that froze my screen once I got to a certain point. I was devastated thought it was my phone but it wasn’t this game just isn’t cleaned up file wise. I’m back once again to see that five years have gone by and I see no updates to fix the gem crisis, loading bugs, or even quality of life updates. This was and will always be my all time favorite game. I just wish they would let us know if the game is even being worked on at this point.

Great game. I’ve downloaded and played this game all the way through probably 4 or 5 times now. Don’t know why but I love this game. First time I beat it was probably 2015 or so and every year or so I re-download it and beat it again. Just gets better every time.

Good Game.... However. The concept of this game is great. However, not only is it confusing, you get stuck because you need gems or you simply don't know how to get the items it assumes you already have. Why do I have the opportunity to build a floor with an item long before the item is available to me? The game also glitches. There is no real FAQs. The friends invitation to play new games doesn't allow you to delete or even hide the notification. 11 1-minute videos for 1 gem. Not Ok. No other true way to earn gems outside attaching this game to every area of social media or buying them. I like this game, I just wished more effort was put into improving the user experience.

Good Game. This is one of the best games for long car rides, but it has some flaws. 1st of all, once I build automobiles, shouldn’t I be able to see cars drive around? 2nd of all, I dislike spending 16 gems to get a small space. The gems and cash should be based on squares per land.

Starts off good. The game is fun but the problem is. That you have to buy diamonds in order to expand the territory. Eventually you have no other choice but to expand and if you don't purchase those diamonds you can't continue to play. So ultimately it's not even fun because you have to expand and buy the diamonds so you become stuck. I'm about to delete because it's too expensive. There should be an option use money or diamonds.

Ships and other things.. Add the titanc and give us like 8 gems everyday and make the camera look around the hole wide world and the gems is a issue to me I like it but low the gems okay I really want the sisters ship on the game and make it cost 2M dollars and the game keep it up but plz do it i really want to see more stuff and I hate how the price goes up and make a NASCAR track and that is all.

Virtual city games. Would of been better if it didn't reset itself, now I have to restart over. 6yrs of this game and restarting due to my original game not loading

Progress. I was looking for a game that was similar to the old Sim City that I liked to play way back when. While not quite the same, this game has the potential to come close. At my age I was just looking for an easy enough game to pass my spare time without too much hassle. I was hoping this could be that game. Collecting the necessary Gems to progress further into the game isn’t easy. When I first tried to join with friends I accidentally lost all of my precious gems which left me with none. Not too sure if I want to continue anymore.

Too much reliance on gems. Started great but there is too much reliance for gems. Am at a point where I need 12 gems to expand. Each further expansion will require more gems. No way to earn gems in a regular and consistent manner. Not going to spend real $$ on gems.

Great game!. This game is great and maybe one of the best free building games I’ve found. One thing is that the money production is super fast and makes buying things as easy as walking. In fact I made my first one million dollars in about 10 hours of waiting. Slow down production, the game is too easy because of it!

Cool game but crashes on MacBook. I have been playing this game for a bit and it’s pretty cool but I have been having major issues with a lot of G5 games on my MacBook lately, including this one. It opens and as soon as it loads, the application crashes. Have tried everything and can’t seem to fix it. Very frustrating

Massive cash grab. Very fun game but it's way to much of a cash grab. Everything costs diamonds (paid currency). You'll run out of room almost immediately. Buying more costs diamonds which gets exponentially more expensive and quickly is not even slightly worth it. Even destroying your low tier buildings costs diamonds. Literally unplayable without putting money into the game.

Addictive. Just ease of the fb post request to advance.. Well structured game. Little frustrating with all the jobs to advance further through needing to post etc to fb but overall not to bad.

Virtual City. I find that you don’t earn diamonds like energy so you have to purchase to be able to build items and we don’t always have money available for that.

Massive grind. Very fun game, however to progress you either need to watch heaps of adds to earn an in game currency (gems) or buy it. Really takes away from the enjoyment. If this were fixed I’d give it a 4/5 rating.

Unplayable without gems at some point. Played about a month. You need gems to expand the city. Unplayable at some point unless you purchase gems. To get one gem you need to watch 10 ads playing 30 seconds each. Some necessary buildings require many gems. Unable to progress without gems, so im quitting now..

Solid Game. This is has so much potential. It is one of the best City Building games on iOS too date. Only issue I had with this game is you need gems to progress and continue playing, you can watch ads to gain gems but they will take you all day. Been playing this game again and again for almost 10 years now.. it’s amazing but I wish it was easier to get diamonds and the map a bit more simpler to have a good layout for the buildings. Earning energy as rewards on task completed is not fair .. some tasks completed should give diamonds as rewards

Mandatory review. Mandatory review within first few plays. Not even enough time to know if I like it. In fact so far I can't figure out how this game works or what the symbols mean and there's no "help" button to tell you. If there is I don't know the symbol for it.

Builders Dream. If you enjoy creating towns and industry, this game is for you. Challenging and fun too. Never have to worry about making money as the game continues when you are not playing it.

Virtual city. Virtual city is a fun, addictive game. My only issue with it is the fact that it is very small on the iPhone 6s. It’s very hard to do some things, and sometimes you have to do the same thing over and over again to make it work.

Great game. I have had this game for a while. Some of the downside is if you delete it or switch to a new phone you have to restart all over again which does stink. But overall a very good game.

I’m getting really worried about diamonds it seems that everything is locked by diamonds. Not sure if this game will last long on my phone. Those diamonds might cause me to stop.

Great game!. I have been playing this game for a couple weeks and it is great! I just wish the diamonds weren't so hard to get. I'm out of room in my town and can't get more land until I collect more diamonds.

Fun game, but the need for Gems is too high. I’ve enjoyed the simulation in this game. However, the need to constantly watch ads to earn gems to expand is pretty annoying. I’m not the type to spend money on games I play. I understand that Gems is how they generate revenue in a free game. But the necessity of them is too high.

Good game. Do you have to buy too many things and you don't get Gems easy enough. I just wish you had to buy the game instead of having to buy lots of gems

Game. I used to love playing this game, but I don’t like some of the new upgrades. I don’t like that I have to wait for energy to build things..and I am not the one to spend money on games...so it feels like I’m waiting forever to get energy and gems to do anything. Very disappointed.

Good Game. Fun game to pass time. Everything seems fair, just annoyed with the “energy” concept to repair building or build them. But in the end, i suppose that’s also a good way for me to measure how long i stay on the game.

Update. The diamonds are required to make some investments. It is difficult to obtain them without purchasing them. Most games have a “pay to win” currency set-up but this game has a “pay to play” currency. After a week or 2 of the game, you will have to purchase diamonds to make any progress which is not my ideal entertainment on a cell phone.

Fun Game but it’s Keep Kicking me out of the game. I love this game but now I can play for less than 40 seconds before it kicks me out of the game. I restarted my phone and same thing. I also spent money on this game so I’m very upset. I don’t know what I can do but I’m open to anything

Great game. I think it’s a fun game defiantly takes up time. I don’t like the idea you gotta have diamonds along with money to expand I think they can do away with that

More energy. This game would be better if for new players you got more energy and the replenish time was a minute instead of 5 minutes per. It really doesn’t help to keep you engrossed in the game when you’re waiting.

It’s a good game. The game is well paced so you understand the dynamic and how your city functions. I’ve played city building games that move too fast at the beginning and get confusing. However, there are so many things that require in app purchases and that really bugs me.

No gems.. You should make it either easier to get gems or make it so we can pay with coins. It’s clearly a money racket. It makes it impossible to actually play the game and move forward. Other than that…great game. I’m enjoying it.

My review. The game is fun so far but I am starting to see that without gems, which of course you have to purchase unless you want to watch a million ads, you won't get very far. Probably won't be playing it long unless that changes.

Diamonds. I agree with all the reviews that the game is fun until you basically have to buy diamonds. It takes 14 diamonds to expand-yet have no way of getting that many consistently without real money. Make a way to consistently get diamonds and you will keep players.

Totally different gameplay than the original. 0/10. The developers have removed the original game from the App Store and all we’re left with is this awful pay-or-wait version. I’m also no longer even able to download the previous purchase to my new device! Just let us play the game we enjoyed and leave the option to the buyer on whether they want this style of game. Very disappointed.

Fun but you get stuck. I enjoy this game but you get stuck if you don't have any diamonds. Not enough challenges give you the opportunity to earn more and I often get stuck needing to expand but unable to afford it.

Decent game. This is a decent game because you can build whatever you want the only downfall is that the tutorial gets in the way slightly.

Fun game. This is a wonderful game to play. But it would be nice if you didn't have to spend diamonds to demolish the hills. Also would be cool if you could fill dirt in the water ways to expand your land or build your own water ways

Too many gems needed. I really like the game, but gems are too hard to come by and I'm at a point I can't play anymore because I can't afford to expand. I'm not willing to put actually money into this game. There are too many videos needed to get s gem reward as all.

Diamond Overload. *** The game now takes 15-20 minutes to load on the latest iPhone. Back to the junk pile it goes *** I'll spend money occasionally in order to progress, because that's the only way you'll be able to expand your city without waiting a year in order to gain enough free diamonds from watching ads. Wait, so when did you start needing diamonds in order to demolish buildings? Talk about greed. Also, today while I was watching my polyester factor produce. It took 1,000 gas in order to produce 4 polyester. Complete ripoff and no wonder why I can never complete challenges on time. Please allow the garage to be upgraded past level 19.

Great game!!. Not so wild about the missions that I can't complete because it requires me to be a member of Twitter or Some other social media site that I'm not on. Otherwise it's a fantastic game. I haven't had one that grabbed my attention like this for a while.

Fun but could be better. I bought this game a long time ago and just downloaded it again for free. It was better when it was paid— goals were focused around the game rather than trying to get the players to market the app.

Good game... for the most part. A good game. However, there are some updates that need to happen (for example, a task involving the defunct Google+), and I don’t think you should have to be charged diamonds to expand your city.
