Awesome, exactly what I needed. These guys got it all correct. I can launch the app and enter my expense before the cashier gets me my change. Easy, and export to excel to incorporate into your spread sheets.

Useful. Mostly I love it bc it's the only app I could find that didn't ask me to put in my bank information and sync my account to them. Plus it allows me to set budgets and to see where saving money could improve.

I don't have any problems with the app. I've been using this app for a couple months now and I haven't had any problems with the app. I love this because I can separate out my expenses out into different categories instead of just having one account to take out of. Also I pretty sure there's a setting you can change to roll over money from the previous month. Look at the options.

5 stars are not enough.. I can't believe this is a free app. Very intuitive and beautiful. It keeps things simple which is why it works so well. Budgeting isn't rocket science but it needs done. Back in Black has made spend tracking much less of a chore for me. Thanks!

Awesome!!!. Totally worth the price. One thing that would be nice is for those of us on hourly pay at an irregular schedule would be able to enter our income as every two weeks instead of monthly. Along with that, have the goals and the regular expenses show how much you would need to save out of each 2-week paycheck in order to make those goals :)

Exactly What I Was Looking For :). Looove this app...I'm terrible with spending sooooo this helps ALOT! I tried Xpensit but that was way to confusing, this app is sooooo simple and has what I need and I love the "Goals" category ALOT!

Disappointed after several months' use. I've been using this app for about 4 months now and have found myself increasingly frustrated at recent stability and data integrity issues. As other reviewers have noted, suddenly expense categories are not being moved over into the new month and I find myself having to re-enter data as previously entered data just disappears. Unfortunately with "Back in Black" being a personal finance app, I can't wait around till the developers fix things so I'm forced to look elsewhere. It's a pity given that it's a promising app in many other respects.

Best app ever!!!. So easy to use! Has income, fixed expenses, goals, and variable spending. You can set a budget for yourself and see exactly what you spend each month. SO user friendly and a nice clean cut look to it! It actually makes me want to go spend money just to use the app to record it haha just kidding :) it really is great though!!

First app review for this wife.. Hubby got this app first. I Saw how easy n organized it was. Downloaded it in January n we had the same problem as everyone else...with it not rolling over. Very frustrating! We believed in the app so much that we hand entered all our info again for February. Waiting for the company to update it. We just got our update today. Thanks! Now I am so excited for the first of March. Can't wait to see it roll over!

Very clean and simple.. Yet still effective!. I like this app. I bought about 4-5 different spending apps and this by was the simplest and easiest to use. Very quick to enter in a cost. Only 2 buttons and done.. ! Very good app and looks good.

Great app...could use a couple more features -. Such as being able to access the whole year as opposed to previous months to present month - should be able to see future months also would be helpful.

HotMacApps Review. Budget with Back in Black is a great new finance tracker for monitoring your monthly budget while on the go. You can take into account every little detail about your monthly income and spending habits. You can set fixed expenses, goals, reminders and even back up all your reporting. Back in Black makes it easy to see where you need to cut down and even has preset categories so you can quickly and easily enter in a purchased item right there and then before you forget. Back in Black has a very easy to use interface with loads of pre-created categories for spending, goals and expenses which make it that much easier and quicker to enter in data on the go. Also with the options to create more categories, you can really go into some detail with your monthly income and costs. However there is no way that Back in Black can actually be linked to your bank accounts, this means its only as accurate as the data you put in. Also unlike many other finance applications there is no passcode lock option that I could see. However the graphics and layout are great, its easy to see where you are in the “black or the red” at anytime. But is it really worth $2.99 when there are plenty of others out there for just a dollar? I have to say its ease of use tops any other finance apps that I have used before.

Great Budget App for Singles. I just installed this App and I have invested quite some time into exploring its features. One of the features it lacks is syncing with other devices/users. I am married and my wife and I share an account, so it's important that the app syncs as we spend money apart from each other. One app that does this well is Baby Connect and Home Budget (HB lacks style and design of this app). I would have given 5 stars, but the lack of syncing really limits the use of this otherwise incredibly thought out App. Please, please extend the capabilities of this budget app because my wife and I (and millions of families) would probably use it day in and day out!

Made budgeting doable for me.. We've tried the cash in envelopes method, but I never carried the right ones with me and it was a pain! Back in Black made it so much simpler. I love being able to use my debit card or credit card and not have to carry a ton of cash. Setup was surprisingly simple and I was able to start using the app immediately. Outside of the map and email apps, I use Back in Black more than any other app on my phone.

Fits the ticket--So far. Installed this app a few days ago. Guess what!!! I like it, a lot. Really easy to figure out. Build your cats, input your income, set your budget, input your expenses, and off you go. UPDATE Oct. 1 The more I use this app, the more I love  it. Get it, set it up, and use it. You will  love it too.

Great app!. I've had this app for years and it works great! It has really helped me to track my spending and set financial goals for myself.

Great app! But....... Feb 2012 I downloaded this app last month and have loved the concept. Easy to use and could be a great tool. This is the first new month and only the income transferred over. Finally got the support site to come up and was ready to post my issue and it takes you to a bad link. So just stuck. Too bad. My rating just dropped from a 5 to a 1. Poor support and it doesn't work as advertised. Jan 2012 post I am happy with this app. I was able to upload and see all expenses in a matter of minutes. The purchase info is so easy to use. I highly recommend for one stop budgeting and expense tracking!

Suddenly stopped working. CRASHES. This app worked for first four months then suddenly started crashing. Having exact same problems as other users. This app was great when it was working but now it is useless. It needs to be taken off the market until its fixed. Also no contact info for developer. Look elsewhere unless they figure out how to fix the multiple bugs fast!

Love it! Just needs 'family sync.' ;). I just got the app and love it's simplicity, it's not full of the charts and graphs I don't plan to use like other apps. The only feature I wish more apps like this had is 'family sync' - it's the only way a family succeeds at budgeting in an e-world. :)

Dropbox backup, Search, CSV Export?!. Emailing backup manually to yourself is a last century technology and recipe for disaster because users always forget manual backup. Badly need auto scheduled backup via Dropbox or iCloud. If impossible at the moment at least give us REAL 1-tap backup straight to Dropbox. Also badly needed a better overview of spendings and income, not just limited to per month. Chart and graph can really helps and and yearly view would be useful for planning. Can't believe a finance app without a simple search feature to list and review past purchases by date. Another sorely needed feature. CSV export, a must have feature for us to manipulate the data say during calculating taxes. Other than that, the app is awesome. Will revise to 5-stars if above features are implemented.

Almost "the one". I've tried a good number of the expense tracking apps and this one comes closest to meeting my need: tracking basic spending on the go. Just two items on my wish list: 1) Want to custom order my categories. Alphabetical puts frequently used categories last. 2) Want to specify which day of the month a budget starts on. Have a global default setting then let us customize for each category.

Best App for your Finances. I have been using this app for the last month and, before I found out about this app - my finances were like a big bowl of...wibbly...wobbly...stuff...yeah it got away from me. I like this app because of its features to portray what you will have but it needs a function where you can track your accounts and the money in them. Atm I am using Money (an app with a pig w/ an "F" on it) in the mean time to suffice for this flaw. Other than that I would give it 5 ⭐'s!

Best budgeting app out there. I've used a couple (paid) budgeting apps, and this is by far the best. It's easy to input transactions and the layout is very intuitive.

Almost there. February 4, 2015: It crashes and will not let me open the app September 25, 2013: I think we need the ability to run more than one account. My goals go into my savings account but from time to time I pull money out and would like to keep track of that Original Review: I've ony had it for couple days but I do like it. Only thing I'd like is more flexibility. We can choose when to start each budget time frame. Also how about we can set it for every 2 weeks instead of a month, at least give the option.

finally!. finally an app that does just what i need! track spending and monitor if i have enough budget for it. an improvement would be to have an expiry or end date for an income account. i work as a freelance consultant and some contracts last for just three months and are paid out monthly. it would be good to not enter a figure every month for such cases. other than that, really great and smooth interface as well!

Best budget app yet!. I have tried quite a few budget apps but now i have met the perfect one! With this app, its just so simple to keep track of my expenses and my income. I usually like to keep track of every dollar in my account so that i dont go over budget and this app does that and more. The interface makes it very simple to use. I can enter something into it in a matter of seconds. My only complain is to allow me to see weekly or daily summaries. The app currently just shows you what your money should be like for the month. Would be nice to see what my money is like at the very moment. The app just adds up everything, your expenses for the month and all your income and shows at as a summary. My problem is that its the beginning of the month. I want to see what my money looks like at this very moment. But its a small gripe that im sure these guys will add later one. Either way, its a great app. I highly recommend it.

Great app for the first month but... Got this app in January. Loved it! I have tried and bought a lot of other budgeting and finance apps- and this one is by-far my favorite budgeting app- until now. As other users have explained- data doesn't carry over from the first month to the second month. I took a lot of time and put in a lot of thought of how to categorize my expenses- all to have it not roll over to the next month. Very disappointing and frustrating. The graphics are good and its customizable (very important to me)-- but-- it just doesn't work. Don't buy this app until it gets fixed.

Good but some bugs are annoying. Been using it for a month. Aside from the goal bug, I found that when an expense is rolled over to a new month, the icon did not transfer. Any attempt to edit that will crash the app. A view of ALL purchases / spending / expenses would be greatly increased of you can sort it by day instead by category. Sometimes I review a day or two back and it's nice to be able to look at what I purchase that day and get to the details. They fixed that this version and added the date review.

This app doesn't even work, waste of money :( :(. I was trying to set up the fixed expenses and income from the very beginning, and when come to enter the amount it freezes and no matter what I keyed in nothing appears. The amounts stays at $0.00 and I can't move to next level. I closed the app again and reopen it, same thing happen again. This app doesn't even work properly. $3.99 for this app and it doesn't even function for data entry? Super disappointed. Reported this but no reply. :(

I've had his app for 1.5 years. It's ok. I use this app while living financially under the principals of Dave Ramsey. It's pretty good for the purpose but doesn't roll over the unused money in the categories, you have to do it manually. Also it's never updated. Lastly it's stopped syncing both my wife and I use it for that purpose if this issue isn't corrected we will move to another app.

Good app, but.... Time and calendar in the app is not in sync with the location of the phone, so when you add new purchases while on a trip the date will be incorrect. Also an inclusion of foreign currencies would be nice. Rest of the app works perfectly and well worth the purchase price.

Great Budget App. This is an nice app, but it'd be great if pennies didn't round up/down and of the cycle started on a set date instead of the first. If you cannot keep track of your day to day balance by other means, this app isn't for you. Otherwise, it is attractive and helpful!

Updates bring new bugs. Please fix app. Little status bars at bottom of category screens no longer change from total spent to remaining. Calculator within category settings no longer works to update category limits. It stinks when an update causes an app to lose critical functionality. Fix these things, then it's a good app! Would also love to see a cost-free, Dropbox based sync feature. The pay for syncing concept is really lame.

Well done but could use a few improvements. Really well done app. It would be even better with the following features: 1) If the budget could be shared and synched with another person. 2) Password protection. 3) Ability to delete transaction with a swipe or trash button. 3) Percentages on the graph.

First of the Month. The app crashes on the first of every month. Also my wife and I can no longer sync our iPhones. We both get errors. The app is basically useless for collecting and tracking our shared purchases, which is of course the whole point if the app. I have iPhone 6, she has iPhone 5. Both of us are running the newest version and our iOS is updated to the latest.

Great but...... I love the features but I really wish it had these two functions: 1. Sync so my wife and I can keep track of our account. 2. Custom periods. I get paid on the 20th and that is when most of my bold are due

First budget app that I LOVE. I have tried a few different budgeting tools and most of them haven't worked that well or helped me that much. I was a little reluctant to spend the $4, but am so glad I did because this app does everything that I want. You have to manually enter purchases but I have found this to be much easier in the long run than having it tied to your account and it log purchases in the wrong categories. It's so user friendly and easy to edit income or purchases. Love it! :)

Please change budget start date!. This is the best-looking, most intuitive, most helpful budget app I've used. It would be an easy five stars, but I had to stop using the app simply because my budget starts on the 24th of the month. There is no option to change the start date, it's automatically preset to the first of the month. Please change this feature so I can use your app again!

All of a sudden really buggy app. Used this in November-January with no problem. All of a sudden, any edits I make aren't saving: not only are the amounts I put in no longer rolling over month to month, any edits I try to make aren't saving when I re-open the app. I liked this at first, but it got majorly messed up with the most recent patch.

Great app--requires some functionality options. I've been using this for a few months now. Very nice look to the app, with its layout and color scheme fitting well together. Accessibility is great, too, having all the important information--including adding a transaction and total spending for the month--all on the main page. A few imrpovements I have yet to see and have contacted the developers about: -I find the Goals feature unusable. I do not like that it will automatically add it to my month without me actually validating that I did save that money. An option to show me what I need to do but let me 'check' off when I do contribute to that goal would be nice. To control this, I don't use Goals at all and instead fit them into the Fixed Expenses category. -Still with Goals, it would be nice to have a feature that would allow me to make additional payments to the goal over and above just the set monthly one. when paying my student loan, I'd like to use some leftover money at the end of the month toward the goal. However, I cannot reflect this in the Goals section because it is set. Also, with student loans, interest needs to be calculated, and the Goals section does not offer any way to do so. Thus, the amount I owe and my monthly payments are different after 6 months, and it is a HUGE hassle to edit the goal and change this. So, once again, I only use Fixed Expenses for these sorts of things.

Great but..... This app is well designed but why in the world would you round off the pennies to the nearest dollar? You can not accurately manage your budget if you can't manage it to the exact penny. Also, don't you devs ever respond to your support forums? I've written a post and have yet to get a response two weeks later.

Perfect Combo!. I have tried all of the finance apps and for me this is the best! It lets you keep all of your bills (fixed and daily spending) along with goals and everything is subtracted and balanced neatly from your income(s). Beautiful, minimal and solid!! Get it!

Incredibly well done.. I downloaded Mint, since that seems to be the standard, but their mobile app wouldn't let me put money aside for savings. This app is 8 steps ahead of Mint in terms of design and ease of use. I still have the Mint app since it links with my bank account but I log my purchases into Back in Black because I enjoy the experience and can understand my finances so much easier in here. If there's one thing I wish the app did, I wish reached goals stayed visible until their end date. I can still see them in the logs though so it's not a huge deal

Love it!. I've searched far and wide for an intuitive, aesthetic, and manageable budgeting application and after trying several other paid apps I'm happy to end my search here! Great job!

Pretty brilliant. More features than Savers and more focused on budgeting than the traditional finance apps like Squirrel or Money. Hope they add Dropbox support and it will be perfect. Right now it's a bit scary entering in data you can't reliably back up conveniently. Update: They obviously fired their designer or sold this app to someone else. The new graph feature is amazingly gaudy and completely ruins the beautiful experience it once had. It feels like they are just slapping things on now so the quality and long term prospects for this app aren't looking good.

No stars for no help. I was interested in this app from a mention it for in an article I read but upon downloading it, I was unable to input any monetary data. It erases it right away. I went to the App Support page which is just a message board--no email address or anything-- and I posted about my issue. I have received no help so this app is rendered useless unfortunately for me. Wish I could use it as it was intended!

Could be the best budgeting app. I have tried many budgeting apps and have found this one to be the simplest and easiest to use. I really don't need all of he bells and whistles that you see in the other apps - I just need to know if i hit my budget target or not, and this app does this very well. Enter the second month of usage. Most people who budget usually do so ahead of time so that they can implement it come day 1 of new month. I had to wait anxiously for 2/1 to roll around to happily enter my numbers. I enter in my new numbers...only for it to get wiped out. So i enter the data again, exit out, go back in, and it gets wiped out again, only to leave the salary line with previous figure. Repeat about 5x. Please please fix this bug. I have anticipated budgeting for this month, only to have this happen. Can you also build in the option to begin budgeting at any day, for any month in the future? At this point, this app doesn't lend to any sort of long range planning (not that a month ahead is considered long range, but you know what i mean). These bugs are annoying, but I would definitely resume usage of this app as soon as it starts to save my entries!

Almost as simple as the old "envelope" system, this app makes budgeting and, more importantly, keeping track of spending against budget simple, simple, simple. Excellent. After downloading and trying several overly complex apps this was perfect for a general household budget. Easy to use. Allows for reoccurring bills and savings as well as a monthly snap shot of everything. For simple budgeting I think this excellent.

Almost there. Can only do Calendar months not Pay cycles. What if your payed in the middle of the month and you want your budget to run until the middle of next month? Or if you're payed fortnightly and you want your budget to run fortnightly not monthly? Also you can't do past months.

Quite basic. Not a bad app easy to use however it needs password protection otherwise anyone can pick up your phone and know your finances needs to be corrected ..

January 2013 missing. Jan 2013 is still missing! Will be looking for another budget app if this problem isn't fixed soon! I used to love this app

Not functioning in Jan 2013. • unable to create expenses for months other than January 2013, making it useless. • no iCloud support • instead have to pay subscription to sync! What a rip-off!

Simple yet effective. This app helped me keep track of spending when planning my wedding. Was a huge help.

Was The best so far. Update: Been using for a month and was working really well until the next month rolled over. There's some major bugs. Have reported to developers support site. Hopefully they can fix ASAP. Stay tuned… ---------- I own about 10 different money apps, have given them all a good workout. Unfortunately, they're really all the same at their core. They don't really help the user get ahead financially. While not perfect yet, this one is different and much more proactive towards keeping your finances positive, rather than just showing what's already passed. A quick tip: If you are in the current month and schedule an expense in the future, the expense moves to the future month and obviously won't show in the current month. I thought it wasn't saving at first but after moving to the scheduled month, the transaction was there. Makes sense really. Hope that helps a previous reviewer. Anyway, I highly recommend this app.

Very impressed!!. I have tried almost every budgeting app on the market and this is the best due to it's simplicity. At any stage of the month I know exactly how much money I have for entertainment, eating out, hobbies etc without forgetting about how much I need to keep aside to reach my savings goal and pay my month's expenses.

Nice UI disappointing performance. Bought this app and It never really worked for me, have to admit the UI looks gr8 but the functionality is full of bugs, not small bugs, serious major bugs. First of all - doest save info, I spent ages plan and record my budget and spending, wasn't saved. Then was the problem with time zone, things changed totally after I change time zone, do a sec I thought it was reset without any data, but thanks god that issue was addressed and quickly fixed. Now I even found more problem, monthly re occurring spending not passed on to the next month, it crashes whenever I tried to add a new expenses for the last two days. Keep on checking the updates but nothing comes out so far. Pretty much unusable at the moment.

Good but... Haven't rolled over yet so can't verify what other users are saying about losing information. I'd be pretty peeved if it happened though! My personal gripe is the lack of an option for "fortnightly" income. Bi-monthly doesn't cut it, as that is 24 payments a year, whereas I get 26. I could work it out on a monthly basis (times my fortnightly income by 26 and divide it by 12) but as I live pay to pay, I like to know what is due from each pay. Other than that, visuals are clean and adding info fairly straightforward.

Good, not great!. When you start a new month the app doesn't move the unspent income in the income section of the following month, no matter if you chose 'on' in settings. The app kept crashing until I disinstalled it and installed it again. Even by doing so the month just ended was unusable, it got restored all wrong!!!

Lost all data. I just opened the app today to find that all transaction data had been wiped. Have no idea why.

Jan2013. My jan 2013 is also missing - and so therefore were my regular payment reminders.... Oops!! How quickly we get dependent on technology ... Hurry, please fix!

Good for a month, no good for a year. It's nice for a month or so - it looks good, and it's easy to add data - but it's not designed to be useful long-term. * All data is stored by month. The only way to see how much money you spent on Groceries, or Transport, over the last couple of months is to open each month in turn, write down each amount on a piece of paper, and add it up yourself. Worse, the only way to see how much profit you've made over a couple of months - or quarter, or year - is to write down each month's total, and then add them up yourself. This, on an app that's supposed to help you budget. It's almost not worth using the app at all. * There's no automatic backup - no iCloud/Dropbox/Sky Drive support. You have to manually create a backup, and manually email it to yourself. If you forgot, and your iPhone is lost/stolen/broken, you lose your weeks/months/years worth of data. If you look at the other reviews, most of them are people complaining that it's wiped all their data; this could be fixed (for free) with automatic backups to Dropbox/iCloud. Remember, it's supposed to be a financial app - with no backup. * There's no data sharing between devices. If you share a household budget with a spouse/partner, only one of you can update the app. This could be easily added using iCloud/Dropbox, but the programmers don't care enough to do so. * It doesn't link to any of the online budgeting sites - so you can only see your data on your tiny iPhone screen (remember, you can't share data between an iPhone and an iPad). * There's a graph, but it's not very good. It's just what you've spent, not what you've spent as a percentage of your budget. If you spend $1 on food, your graph shows 100% Food, not 1%. Also, the graph is only per month, not per quarter/year. It would be helpful to be able to see long-term patterns develop. I don't think the programmers have used the app themselves for more than a month - maybe you shouldn't either?

Weekly budget option please!. I've found this app very sleek and easy to use, but it would be nice to have a "weekly budget" option, with a monthly overview. This would help to make my saving/spending goals more manageable. Overall though, a good app!

Far below what I expected!. Why are the fixed spends not rolling over?? I got this app thinking that I would find it user friendly and that it would save me time tracking my expenses, but have the case to be found otherwise. The categories are non intuitive and I spend a lot of time on it trying to get it customized. And when I got into Feb, having begun in Jan, what should have rolled over didn't; and if I want to keep using this app, it means I have to go through the trouble of reentering the goals and fixed spends? Ludicrous!! The help/support button clicks to nothing, which is why I'm resorting to giving this app a bad review. This is one very dissatisfied customer! Such lousy service is unacceptable for a paid app!

Rocking App!. If only for the name I'm loving "Back in Black". I need a system that's simple to manage my financial commitments not a bunch of complicated lists, colours and icons to navigate. Simple and elegant budget management for the rest of us!

This app was good but now unusable. I used to really like this app, it had helped me save a lot of money and came in handy a lot but I have found that since the latest iOS updates, I can no longer use it. My iPad has iOS 7 and my phone is on the latest update, both are incompatible with the current version of this app

Good app but needs more options. Really nice UI, but can't use it exactly. I get paid monthly on the 15th, it's so confusing to try and use the app monthly where the month is reset on the first. It would be awesome if there's an option to change the start of the month, and better yet to add more options like weekly and fortnightly rollover dates! Would be so much easier. To be honest i don't use the app because of that.

Perfect Budgeting App. This is definitely my favourite and most useful app I own. I have used this for at least three years now and documented every cent I spend and earn. Honestly, it is the best way to keep track of and monitor money. The graphs and spending limit features are so helpful and I can honestly say this has put a lot of order into my life. Could not speak more highly of this app if you paid me to write it! I've tried a few budgeting apps and this one definitely takes the cake. It had a few teething problems when I first started using it but they have obviously been sorted because it runs so smoothly now.

Dig it.. Would be cool if you could set up multiple bank accounts but whatever!

Update required immediately... And got one. Thank you for the update! The app now seems to be working very nicely once again and now the functionality is back to bring second to none! Hopefully we have made it through the dark V1.1.5 period and this app becomes invaluable once again :)

Needs some work, but has potential!. It would be great if I could put it on my husbands phone and he could enter his expenses. Also, to set up the fixed expenses for further down the year would be great! I downloaded it because it was on the 'new year, new you' apps list. I would have thought the bugs would be sorted by now since the app is over a year old. iTunes needs to remove it from their recommendations, or an update should be offered, stat!

Best budget app on the appstore. This app has every feature im looking for. The only two things its missing is a feature to have unused funds go into a "savings" account. Also if you could add a feature for one-time payments for goals.

Loved it till now. Has frozen with new month and is not rolling over if this was fixed would great

Use This Daily. I have been using this app since January 2013. Helped me to get financial control of my finances. I have just updated it to the latest version and I can no longer add or edit any fixed expense could you please check this out and fix it. Great app

Excellent. Gives lots of options to itemize & hone in on particular expenditures. One thing I would like a sub category for irregular payments. Most of my income is contract but to specific recurring bodies - so one off while taking care of differing amounts isn't strictly correct. I like that it keeps me on the straight and narrow. I've tried quite a few - some costing considerably more. This is a keeper though.

Beautiful but buggy. In some categories I enter all of an expense's details but it fails to save. When editing an expense it's impossible to change the month. It would also be nice to be able to make manual changes to a savings goal.

Great start to a well thought out app. Nice friendly UI and can really quickly become essential. Needs some bug fixing but I'm sure these can be addressed in updates. Well with your money if you want a quick, fast and easy budgeting app

Missing January 2013. I have been using this app for over a year and just love it. I went to put my spend in for today and January 2013 is missing!! Help please send an update as I need it !! 2/1/13 and I still have not got Jan 2013 Is anyone else having the same prob?

Reallu useful but 1 request!. this is a great app, probably the most user friendly one I have found thus far, but I have 1 request, I get paid and therefore, finacially speaking, work on a fortnightly rotation, not monthly, is it possible to add those additional choices in in future updates? I am trying to think of it from a monthly perspective because I like the app however it isn't actually realistic for me and sort of creates a false/positive at times when for example it looks like I should still have available cash in a budget but then I have to remember "no that is next fortnights allowance", does that make sense?

Can't sign in after update. Updated app from apple store and since then it wont accept my original pass code and now I can't use the program. Waste of my money.

Great app but every month the same thing.... Love this app. It has really assisted out family in keeping an eye on our finances. Only complaint is every month it doesn't carry over your budget and you have to crash it like 20 times to get it to carry over. You guys need to fix this. It's so frustrating

App can't do simple math!. How can this be a budget & expense app if you can't even do simple math? I tried adjusting my expenses and the app didn't apply the changes!!! The only way it will apply changes is if I change the date. Very unreliable and useless app!!!

Password protection?. Why is this app not password protected with so much sensitive data? That alone makes this app WEAK.

I like it!!!. Good app, seems to have everything I need to start budgeting properly. It doesn't have the receipt picture dealy, which I view as a bonus. I don't need pictures of my receipts. If they're important I simply keep them!!! It's got all the right features to properly track my spending, goals, etc, and I'm not re-inputting everything each month. 5 stars!

Good. Needs a cumulative chart/summary so you can see how much you've saved over a range of months. Also so you can Check what the avg you've spent on certain subcategories over a range of months. Really good app but just a couple things missing.

Keeps Crashing. Jokes on me... a budget app that takes your money and doesn't work. This keeps crashing which sometimes erases the most recent data I entered and sometimes doesn't. No good.

New update lockout problem. I love this app a ton, it's fun to keep track of my spending to see where all my money goes. They are aware of the "wrong password" problem and are working on the bug, be patient everyone.

Fantastic app. This is one of the first apps I was willing to pay for, and it's worth the money. It's amazingly useful and intuitive. You can create your own categories and set goals. I actually prefer it over Mint.

Budget freak. I love this app!!!!!! Would love if there was a way I could easily make two budgets per month as there are two pay periods for us and also plan a budget for the next month with all the categories from the previous month.

Nice app but need other currencies option. Please add the ability to enter expenses, etc in other currencies. This app was meaningless for me for a couple of months while I was overseas -- not going to convert every purchase from £ or € into $. Thanks.

Overpriced. My cousin bought it accidentally however I ended up using it and it's pretty good. But for $25?! These features are easily accessible to free or up to $5-10 apps. Not $25 way overpriced

Love it but.... Something is happening where it is now saying I have a months warning even though I have it set as semi-monthly. This is giving me a false idea of how much money is remaining for the next two weeks. This problem is just new. I’m not sure why it is happening.

Widget not working. Have had the app for years and I love the idea of having a widget to make adding purchases easier. Just downloaded the update today and noticed purchases don't register when it's added through the widget though.

Keeping it simple. I and my mom use this for keeping track of expenses and it is handy!

DO NOT PURCHASE! Repeated bugs tender this app useless for months at a time.. WTH!? Last year this app was out of commission for a long time and again, SAME thing! What is taking so long to rectify issues on a paid app! Terrible. Do not buy. App might look amazing buy it's not worth it to work only 9-10 months of the year, especially wen you're trying to BUDGET. Wish I could get a refund.

Sync Broken. I loved this app until the sync started giving connection timeout failures over the past few months. Now it's just more frustrating to use than helpful. Contacted support twice with screenshots etc but they are woefully unresponsive. Trying a different app now...

It's good but lacks something fundamental. This is a great app, I am a big fan. However, I think that the ability to add/remove months would make this app so much better. I'm surprised this functionality has not been implemented yet.

Please add option for an End Date in Fixed Expenses. I have been using this app for years and love the customization in expense tracking! I just wish there was the ability to put in a time frame for my fixed expenses. Please add!

DON'T DO THE UPGRADE!!!. You've got to be kidding me!?! I love this ap. Love. Love. Love. So easy to use. Delivers on all its promises. Just downloaded the upgrade and now crashes. Data? Gone! Goals, spending, fixed income all of it? Gone! Not happy.

Review post OS 8 upgrade. This is a comment on the app-support post iOS8 upgrade, it is very poor. I put in a report of the SSL certification issue and nothing for over 2 weeks, no email or reply that it was being worked on. So I have gone back to a more manual; but in my case more useful budget tracker, a good old-fashioned spreadsheet! If you find ‘back in black” useful, enjoy it. I thought we (my wife and I) would find it a more accurate and useful budgeting app, originally; but have found we didn’t consistently use it, found it was less than accurate and with the poor response on the application iOS8 SSL compatibility issue, we have ditched it all together.

Best budgeting app. I downloaded a bunch of these budgeting apps every other one was a joke compared to this App. It's the best one hands down. I'd recommend this to everyone out there.

4 star. I've been using this app for a couple of months - it's decent. I like the fixed expenses option and the preloaded expenditure categories are great, you can make your own as well. App falls short in setting "goals" though - whether debt repayment or savings it was difficult to understand how to input the information. No crashes.

Amazing app only 1 thing. It's amazing, best app of this type i found but only thing is that i have to ré-enter all infos every month, it is not rolling from month to month, please fix this! Good job over all

Best budgeting app but could be improved. I’ve tried several budgeting app and this leaps and bounds better than the rest. A good update by the developers with a few modifications could make it even better. Overall, highly recommended this app.

Good but could be better. All in all this app is really good,BUT they don't allow you to set up a budget for the future months UNLESS that month has started. I would like to set it up before the 1st of the month so I know what I'm aiming for.

Ideas. My wife has been using this app for the past few months. I now have an iPhone as well and this would be an awesome app if we could have a "joint back in black account". If she were to make a purchase it would then be automatically put on both our phones. Also would like to be able to print off what our purchases were for the month. Or totals on what we over spend on or have left over. Just to have a hard copy to refer back to. Also the report troubles/questions/ideas link does not work and I haven't been able to open it for months. 5 stars if they can implement some of these ideas.

Works like a charm (not). Visually beautiful. Beautifully simple. Well it did until the last update. Now it tells me my password is incorrect so I can't access my info! Fantastic.

Still waiting for updates.. This app used to be the best financial and budget app on the App Store. What happened? We haven't seen any updates since the beginning of October and it is starting to fall into decay. There is no iPhone 6 or 6 Plus support right now so the resolution is junk on these new devices. As well, some iOS 8 features like a Notification Center widget would be nice. Please don't let this app fall into neglect. I've used it for many years and it has always been great and up to date - let's keep it that way! Cheers

I absolutely LOVE this app!. Thank you for the last update! It fixed all the problems I was having with backing up! This app has been a part of my daily life for the last 3 years, and has not only helped balance my finances but save me money! I would be lost without this app! Working ok for me!. Not sure what all the complaints are about, I've been using the app for a few months and its working pretty good me, helps a lot in keeping track of my bills and spending! I haven't experienced any crashes on the app!

Love It!. I have been using this app for years-it is fantastic. It has really helped me financially -easy to use. Simple- 1. Net monthly money coming in 2. Fixed monthly expenses 3. Monthly savings (I save $300 a month to pay for house insurance, car insurance & property taxes) 4. Spendings during the month - House, Groceries, Gas, ... whatever you want to set up for yourself.

Decent app but needs tweaks. This app has a great setup but I can't get my budgets to roll over month to month and I have to continue inputting the information. This tends to take quite a bit of time. Please fix and update.

not working. set up accounts and inserted LENGTHY budgets and spending for the month or October and beginning of November. checked back a couple hours later and lost all input data. not only that, but when inserting data, did not register right away.

Budget start and stop date. My budget doesn't start at the first of the month it starts on the 28th of every month... Had to switch apps for this reason...

Horrible Syncing Solution. This subscription model for syncing is horrible. They should add support for syncing via Dropbox, Google Drive, or iCloud. This is RIDICULOUS that it's gonna cost us on an ongoing basis to use the app. Please help us recommend this to others by fixing this terrible "solution". Thank you!

Synching Error. Receiving synching error when opening app. Cannot receive communication from synching server. Have tried everything to reset. Please fix.

Crashes. The idea and functionality of this app are great, but it frequently crashes and loses any updates I've made. It's often enough that I can't rely on it for regular usage.

Pro: Easy to use Nice looking layout Reasonable price ($2.99) Cons: You gotta pay yearly for syncing your iPhone-iPad ($2.99/year) No priority tools -in fixed expenses you should be able to organize the expenses according to its priority / number or according to its due date. Need a lot of work to do here for a paid app.

LovED it.... I've had this app for about 3 weeks & everything was great, until the 1st of the month. Only certain things transferred over to the new month and now it's not saving any entries. A waste of money apparently. Wish they would fix this because I haven't found another app I like as much.

Almost. Needs more default categories. Creating categories and choosing coordinating icons is/was annoying.

Do not buy. This app did not roll over any expenses and now crashes whenever I try to enter anything. It was great the first month I had it, but if I can't continue to use it, it's not worth it. Please fix it!!!

Worked great until it deleted all my data. The UI is nice and it was my favorite app to tracking spending -- until I opened the app yesterday to find all of my data gone.

Bananas. I've used plenty of finance apps. This is murdering them all. This takes the sophistication out of budgeting and makes it simple.

Nice UI, but…. Really need ability to start the monthly budget cycle on customizable dates (pay days), not first day of the calendar month.

Wel...l it DID work. I've been using this app for a couple of months and it has worked great but all of the sudden it won't even open or if it does it doesn't work right. Please fix the problem.
