-Fixed an issue when registering devices through the app
App does not communicate with the radar in iOS11. Yes it shows connected under Bluetooth but not in the app. Please fix this
This app is not compatible with iOS 11 it will not connect unless you forget the device and re-sync it every time you get in your car and start it.
There is a Bluetooth connection issue with the app on iOS 11. Only way to get detector to connect to phone via Bluetooth is to forget device then pair to phone each time the detector is powered on.
Doesn’t connect to radar in iOS 11
And there's other apps that work better Waze for one
I have been one of the many consumers that happens to be a developer for Apple that warned Escort that their Max 360 detector connects via Bluetooth, but will not connect to the Escort Live app when running iOS 11. This has been an issue since the 1st beta came out for iOS 11 and still hasn’t been corrected by the time the public release came out two days ago. They knew this was a problem and still nobody could correct this before the public release? Terrible business practices, that’s why the betas are there, so that problems like this can be corrected before the average consumer is affected by it. The best part, is that a customer service representative from Escort acknowledged the problem two days ago, and said there is nothing we can do, and we have no ETA for the fix...what a terrible customer experience!! And this is a service that is paid for monthly and it doesn’t even work...
After downloading ios11 on my iPhone 7+ Escort Live Radar will not connect with my Max360. It is not even recognized as a available device! Escort please fix this!
I can't turn off the Overspeed alert no matter what I try but while trying to turn it off I discovered how to set it up in advanced mode and the display is fantastic! I'm also not sure why the subscription cost is so high. Buying a detector at $6 plus should have this a part of the purchase price.
I have the iPhone 6s use the escort radar detector but the speed does not show up in the box speed limit can anyone help me with that thanks. That's when I give it a three star instead of A four star or a five star because this does not show up in the box but everything else works does anyone have any suggestions of re-download it over and over and over. Thanks WLJ. Florida. PS : it is a iphone 6s won't show the speed or what the speed limit is can anyone help you with that thanks.good but want show speed in the radar.i have the i phone 6s and it just want Woork with it Thanks.ps:have to gave this a3 star not a 5 star thank. WLJ. Florida.ps. IT IS GOOD THANKS. WOORKS GREAT. THANKS
This app is better than expected. Granted it’s not Waze which I could not live without and run every day in the foreground but escort live looks like it will be more functional than I expected. When I first launched the app (prior to logging in with a premium account) I saw deceptively few live alerts. But after receiving my Max360, registering it, and signing into Premium there were literally scores of Ka live alerts and a few laser through central and northern jersey and NYC. Haven’t seen anything in PA yet, we’ll see driving there tomorrow. Here are some wish list items that would make the app a lot better: First of all you need to significantly reduce the amount of CPU utilization — this app blows through my battery in record time (iPhone 6s running iOS 11). Well I expect to be running this app predominately in the background the map display could definitely use some work first of all it’s zoomed in way too far need to zoom out further for better perspective also you should have options to configure the orientation of the map typically the direction of travel is up in the map itself moves in the car. In short the more you can make the map look like Waze or Google maps the better in a perfect world google would open up their API so that you could create the alerts directly in Waze rather than having to manage a whole separate app. It would also be great to have some additional detail for each of the live alerts, specifically a record of the frequency, detector that was used to identify it and perhaps the distance that was first identified at. While login it would be nice to see the number of other Escort Live users in my local area. I haven’t fully tested we had but I’m hopeful that this app works fully in the background I think it does because the life alert seem to pop up on my radar detector but I expect runners in the background for hours at a time during my commute to and from work. It might be nice to have a banner bar at the top when it’s active in the background so that I know it’s still running your monitoring the situation like google maps does.
Don't expect Escort to fox anytime soon. My max360 seems to work well, but this app is now useless. Won't open and they have not responded to anyone's request for help so far.
It's giving an error message and not letting me sign in
App stopped working today. I get an "error code 503" when I try to open app. I uninstalled the app then reinstalled but got the same error code. I guess another POS app.
I get a 503 error every time I attempt to log into the app this weekend. Attempted reinstall of the app, reboot of phone, and reboot of Passport Max2 but no joy.
I run nearly everyday along routes in our area with very heavy traffic enforcement. Speed traps are in place daily although random & varied in precise placement. Having the ability to permanently mark known traps and camera locations, then receive audible reminders on approach is key. These features along with frequent database updates are what make Escort Live and my iX work for me. Thanks Escort; you're the best. Just keep those updates & enhancements coming along a little quicker and we'll be in this thing together for a good, long while.
If their servers go down, you cannot even use the app controls. There is an option for it but it's doesn't work. I echo the comments of other users as I've had my detector for a few years now and never saw any improvement over the app. It's never changed once. Looks like the team that built it left or was fired and they never got any replacement and it's been abandon. Waze which is free blows alerts out of the water when it comes to social sharing of police locations. Nobody in their right mind would pay $50 a year for this. It's was free at first for me and I don't even use it. It's junk, why bother?
Wont allow me to log in.
Not sure what else to say other than this app is not very good. The radar detector loses a great deal of functionality if the app is not working, and the app seldom works properly. Good concept, poor execution.
Update 7/2017: Over time over past 5 years, app UI, small buttons, crashing, errors that require reinstall has not abated. The arrogance of the Canadian/US Escort/Bell management might run them into bankruptcy again IMO. Today have to reinstall for the umteenth time (would not load). If this does not improve, will get 1 star rating. 2012: The TAC at Escort are domestic US... That is good. Easy to understand and communicate with. However, the process supporting buggy code, like this, is otherwise experienced by me as the same as some off shore software. And their "level one TAC" instruction did not work to fix the problem. Have to call back. My time is worth money. This kind of "let's test it in the field with the paying users" approach is just wrong. The app is sloppy for a paid subscription, as noted in so many other comments. I will add that the mapping engine they use has a database that is at least 2-3 years behind. I have too much experience with the software thinking I am in a field driving (does not know there is a road). I use this with a Escort Max. Love the Max from a initial performance standpoint. Blows away by up to a mile difference range and speed of detection verses my updated V1s. The initial false rejection is overall better than the V1. The features to enhance false rejection make it even better as it is used over time. Expert mode and other display settings work great for me. However... Now the laser alert refuses to shut off unless I shut off Laser alerts. The front plastic lens is cheap and has a notch part of the mounting system. Which has pulled the lens off exposing the internals. I think this is a real design flaw. The case is plastic and not hardened for years of use like the V1. For the extra expense over the V1, the design should use better quality materials. Max has poor design of user buttons for those like me who mount it to the mirror or just below the tint band. Same as all the other previous models. The Max updates from the web have been flawless with windows 8.0 and 8.1. Love the feature. Even though it costs money. Live is a great idea. The integration to the Max is very good. The price for the subscription is fair. However, for the price, and time it has been out, the Canadians/Americans pony tail code writers who develop it are sloppy.. Like the Canadian company that did the ObamaNoCare software roll out. :) Until Live stopped working for no reason, it had some "saves" from tickets. And it most useful tool for situational awareness in the market. I find in most major metros, plenty of users reporting. On the interstate, less so. Especially in less populated states. I imagine that will change with time. Let's keep the pressure on management and the pony tails to step up their game. They have a great concept and great product (when it works).
App needs complete redevelopment. I just purchased an Escort IX. One of the key features I wanted out of it is the real time speed limit data. However, that requires using this app, which looks like it has gotten little to no attention in the last 5 years. The interface seems out of date even for its original 2012 release. On top of this, it has the same functional/account login issues that other users have pointed to. For a company that wants $50/year to use key features of a $500 device, this is inexcusable; especially considering that the Cobra side of the company has this figured out for free. The negligence here has me contemplating returning the detector all together and sticking with my old one.
