Creative, fun app, could use added functionality. Overall, this app delivers as promises. It's fun to use, and it's a neat way to use photos from one's library. I found it to be mostly stable, but there are several features that would be helpful if the developers implemented: 1. An ability to save the file in progress for editing later. Right now, if the app crashes or if you remove the app from operating in the background, you will lose the project that you were working on. This is frustrating, especially if you spend 20 minutes working on a project. 2. An ability to resize the text and thought bubbles without having to type something in them. This would be a helpful feature when putting stickers inside of bubbles. 3. Auto-size for text rectangles based on text content. Right now, the user has to manually resize the rectangle if you want the text to remain on a single line. 4. There needs to be an easier way to see which sticker sets have been purchased and which have not been purchased. (Without having to click on a particular set.) For example, can you change the icon in a way that shows which sticker sets the user already owns? 5. Custom font colors (instead of the six pre-chosen options) would be great.

A GREAT app, but... I love this app, it's great! If I could make one suggestion; have a feature that would allow you to straighten or level your photos. Of course you can ALREADY do this, it's just so sensitive, a leveling tool would be sweet.

Glitchy. I love the look this app creates, but the glitches make finishing a comic book difficult.

Changed the App. They changed the App making it easy for a 5 year old, thus making it too simplistic for adults. Sometimes upgrades ruin the product. This App is an example.

Help. So i downloaded the app a week ago ended up not needing it so I deleted it and then today i was charged like $3.99 from the app but have no way to contact support or find out what or why i was charged. It doesn’t show i have a subscription to this app or have even used it yet im still being charged. Not a fan.

Great but I need help. The game is awesome but I can’t figure out how to make more pages are used to be able to do it, but now I can’t. I don’t know how to make more pages but the game is good. You can make more pages but I forgot how to. But you should get the game it is sooooo fun

Seriously Awesome. This app is amazing for making comics/collages! I have never had an issue with it. Actually helpful with productivity, not just for fun. I rely on this app. You can easily save your Page or export to Camera Roll which is critical. My kids love it, I love it. Please don’t ever wreck this app with an update!!! (That happens so often I’m always afraid to update)

best comic app for iOS!. No app has 'everything' but Comic Book is the best of breed if you want to have fun with photos or make more complex boards. The interface is easy and straightforward, but help is there and useful as well. Additional 'stickers' are available and are reasonably priced for what you get. Export options are plentiful, and you can import from the photo section or from the camera. Choosing comic format is easy but I didn't see any option for designing a 'custom' strip with panels sized and placed by the user. Even lacking that, there are plenty of choices that will suit most needs. You can easily apply a variety of 'looks' including halftone, posterization and others to you panels The caption options are plentiful and cover most needs, and they also allow color choices, font adjustments and the caption pointers can be easily lengthened or changed to point in any direction. All in all this is a very good app for making your own comic strips. if you spend an honest hour using it you'll see for yourself. That said, I hope they continue to expand the choices and categories of 'stickers' and perhaps offer user defined panels and captions for that matter. Overall I'd give it 5 stars especially compared to other comic creation apps. Catfish

Carry over to another device not happening!. Maybe I’m doing something wrong but I got an iPad and when I opened the app none of my purchases or projects are recognized from my phone and I have no way to restore the purchases for the extra action words I made on my phone. Any suggestions?

Fun but.... I really like this program. I do wish it was a little easier to start a new project. I am alway worried I am going to lose an old project when I begin a new one.

Oh Yea!. This is a great fun app and after talking with the Devs they are listening and they are adding features. My grand daughter liked this so well on my iPad 2 that we bought it for her iPad 1 also. We have not experienced any crashes and we have made at least 30 pages from our vacation and sent them back and fourth. Working Great on a 64gig iPad 2 and a 16gig iPad 1 Those of you who are having crashing problems need to contact the support team. Just posting here that yours is crashing does nothing to get your problem fixed. They need to know what device you are using, how much memory your device has, any utilities you may have running in the background, ect.... This is a review forum not a tech support forum. Don't expect to get your problems fixed by posting "It Crashes" here. If you have been through the Support help and are still dissatisfied then go ahead and vent. But if you want to see the app running on your device with your configuration you need to help the support team figure out why it is not.

This app doesn’t work well. You can’t put an effect on your photo in this app… It appears that you can but it cannot be done. It wasn’t always this way. It’s annoying and ridiculous…

Pretty Darn Good. I have made some great comics with this. I love how basic the tools are. Learning curve is pretty gentle. The app crashes if I load a comic up with too many elements. I wish there were more templates, or the ability to create my own layout.

Absolutely everything you need. Such a wonderful tool to create the comic you’ve always wanted to. True not all the extras are free but it was actually after I had made over 50 professional pages that I decided to spring a whole dollar on one of the extras, even though I really didn’t necessarily need it. If you are creative and can learn this app it is great. Couldn’t recommend more.

What happened?. I use to use ComicBook! quite often. Without going into TMI I was away for awhile. When I got back to it, it’s now missing a ton of tools and styles I use. Please tell me you are fixing this. It’s a poor change if it’s not a mistake.

Easy and fun. Pretty great product. Easy and fun to use. If only it had better filters for making comic images.

Keeps crashing. I successfully used this app once. Ever time I try to apply a filter now, it crashed. This app was cool when it worked.

How the $&@! do you get out of Settings screen?. Tap the gear to go into Settings. Now crash the app. Now reopen it. Is that really how we’re supposed to to get back to the main app? There’s no button or gesture I could find that will take you back there. How about a fix for this for once!

Haven’t been back to apple for a decade. I’ve missed this app. I make photos to share with family. Mainly from gadgets; drone, iRCams thermal imaging, ramble on….

Doc Annapolis. So fun for office antics and upbeat morale! We love it!!

Basic with notable issues. A bug has been introduced which makes this unusable. The circles used to manipulate the caption tails now export with both pdf and images making the output flawed. You can do basic layouts with this app and it’s fairly useful for that. However it can’t do the one thing you think it might: make a book. The only way to create a book is in app. You can’t view it outside. To do that you have to export pdfs or images and build it yourself with other software. Which is now broken due to the caption tail issue. Caption types are limited. Only one form allows you to size the box. No typical “radio” message type caption bubble. In your saved pages, there is no obvious order. It seems like last update sorted them by regency of edit but there is no way to sort by name for instance which is hugely inconvenient. Pictures also can’t be locked in place unless you apply the comic book filter appearance to them. Overall it’s ok for a quick layout but it quickly runs into usability problems.

What the what?. The tutorial must be outdated because it looks nothing like the new software on iPhone. There is no halftone switch, cannot change and save to cartoon tones and no support number to call.

….. Can’t add multiple images to the open panel/page option?? Seriously guys…🤦🏻‍♂️. I want my $3 bucks back!

ComicBook! Is a MUST Have!. I have been using this for years… I worked for Apple Computers for more than 10 years consistently recommended it as one of the best Apps for expressive creativity. I recommend getting used to the different lay outs, think about telling a story and then use other apps in conjunction to produce the art in a way that reflects your style. I like to take pictures of my kids toys, artistically modify them, then bring them into ComicBook! To lay them out to make stories. Good stuff. Developers: PLEASE KEEP SUPPORTING THIS APP! The sky is the limit with its potential.

Great app!. Easy to use and intuitive, no crashes, great support. Definitely worth the couple bucks.

Inappropriate!!. Yes this app easy and fun to use with it’s already accessible internet pictures, but while using the app myself I was scrolling through the pictures provided and came across several pictures of naked women. I would highly suggest not downloading this app for young children, due to the inappropriate photos provided.

So much fun. I seriously use this app for everything and have so much fun editing photos and telling stories.

No Optimized for iPhone X. Was expecting so much more. Not ready for iPhone X, and many of the menu options do not have easy navigation causing you to get stuck. Wish I could get a refund.

Once Great!. This app has finally met its kryptonite. This new update is horrible. What happened to the sliders change intensity of the filters? This one click on a "super dog" just doesn't cut it.

Multiple crashes on an iPad 1. I desperately wanted to like this App, since I was working on something with it with my 4 year old son and having a blast. However, it CRASHED multiple times, and worse, there didn't seem to be any way to even do a save-in-progress. I tried saving the Image, but of course this only loaded the entire work as a single Image and provided very limited ability to continue from when we left off. PLEASE FIX THE BUGS and make sure in the event of a crash that it's been AUTO-SAVING and will pick up where it left off!!! [UPDATE]: I turned my iPad 1 off completely and then on again and the bugs seemed to disappear. As my iPad's memory was pretty full, this suggests that the problem probably has something to do with memory management. Please fix and you've got a 5 star app! (though one suggestion: PLEASE add the ability to do multiple pages (so you can actually create "real" comic books rather than just a single photo page!)

I love comic book!!!!!!!!. When I first got this app I was a little confused, but it's definitely worth paying! I got mine free almost 5 years ago but let me say that I would have payed the money any way. I am in middle school and make comics about pets, I have many of them. It s amazing to look back on my old comics to see memories, my own creativity, and sadly some beloved pets who have passed. Moment of silence for them please. I have a blog called - From A Kids Point Of View - I will soon be talking about this app and a couple others on there. This app has truly changed my life and reminds me of my wonderful pets that I once had, and the ones I have currently! So I defiantly recommend this app for others! - thanks🙂

Great app, only minor issues. This is a great app for making comic books, highly recommend. Only wish there were more sticker pack updates, and it would be great if you could “lock” your photos in place.

Very good app. Some suggestions. Super handy app! 5 star for sure. But at the same time I have a few suggestions for some features that maybe developers can make them better in the next version. 1. Photos cannot be cropped in this app. We have to crop and adjust them before we add them into comic blocks. 2. I guess the developer designed this app for mostly English users, because the Captions are weird in sizes if I type in Chinese or Japanese characters. Also the Chinese characters font type are not adjustable. Title caption can only use in English. If developers can fix it that will be wonderful. 3. Captions have only one direction (left to right). If you can provide a top to bottom directions, that’ll be great. 4. Captions cannot be tilted or rotate. 5. Only one font type can be selected in one caption, which means I can’t highlight one or several words within a sentence. 6. Stickers can be vertically flipped but not horizontally. Overall, this is a great app. I really hope developers can fix the Chinese and Japanese characters problem soon, because I know that not only myself but many people like to type characters in the comics and make it cooler. Minor Flaws. I like how the pictures are exported in high resolution. However, there’s seems to be a tiny flaw after the update. Every time I export the image, not only is the dialogue not centered in the balloon like it’s supposed to be, but also the text is a different color rather than black. I hope that can be fixed in future updates.

ComicBook. OK so it has the 'dreaded in app purchases' but this example has lots to work with in the initial download without shelling out a King's ransom. I have pretty much humiliated my whole family already (the inlaws got my particular attention!) If you are creative and want a bit of a laugh along the way download this app and enjoy.

Can't up load straight to instagram :(. I love this app! The only thing that lets it down is it doesn't have a template that allows you to upload straight to instagram! Which is unusual for photo apps!

It's great, but.... This app is truly great. The interface is easy and it is great fun to play around with your photos. The only criticism I have is that the app is called COMIC BOOK and you can only make one page. Please add the option to create more pages to the comic.

Cool product, very easy to use. I am a language teacher, have tried different tools for making comic with my students. Found this one is very easy to use. It has potentials to improve such as add multiple pages, but please keep it simple and easy to use for the users like me, not a gig at all. Just keep it in mind that if the users doesn't have to spent a lot of time to learn how to use it, then it is a product we like to use often-just like any Apple producrs. Most of us are not techo people :-)

My all-time FAVE art app. Like everyone who's creative, I adore the iPad & iPhone for their rich selection of apps for music and art. Comic Book is my hands down favourite app for creating fast photo layouts, with or without funky effects. It's a powerful little app which is versatile and user friendly. *kisses sky in manner of strange and inexplicably genius person*

Comic Book. Comic Book is really colourful and is a really creative app to use plus you can also put your photo's or pictures on. I really enjoy this app and l rate this app 5 out of 5 ! Love this app!

Easy as. I made a comic in 2 minutes and it looks pretty good. The only down side is that you need to pay for stickers but its not essential.

Great but needs more features. Mainly needs a native save feature. The app crashed on me once and i lost an almost finished strip. You can save as an image but this wouldn't have helped me since you can't open and edit it. Otherwise this app is a lot of fun to use.

Good for now. The app was really awesome just disappointed on the template please put a customise cropping system so we can fit the pic to any size we want. Thanks in advance. Gonna hit the last star if you implemented it.

Love this app!!. I create heaps of comic pics all the time. There are a lot of different styles to choose & I love the stickers. I'm so addicted to making people into comics... Would love some new stickers in the next update!!!

A first for buyers remorse. Ive downloaded over 150 apps over my two apple devices and not once have I ever understood when people have stated in a review that they want there money back - This is the first time I've had that true feeling of buyers remorse... The app is clunky at best, I struggled to get two photos in and with a slight edit - add anything more and it crashes - but not in the sense that it returns you to the OS home screen to the point it's like your device has a virus and your like WTHeck did I just pay for! The worst app I've ever downloaded! What a shame.... This app was deleted after no more that 5minutes (3 of them used turning on an off the device)

Good idea. This is a fun and easy to use app. My only problem with it is that it doesn't have the ability to save your work. Having the app crash when you're almost done with a page is not fun. Please add a save feature and I'll change the rating to 5 stars. Cheers!

Can recommend. This is a very nicely put together app. Easy to use and good in app user guidance resources. Top tip: you can reapply a filter to an image for more intensified results, or a new filter to adjust the result. Would be great to have custom page layouts.

Fun. I didn't really get this app because I had some ideas of comic books. I got it because I thought I could have some fun with it and I was right! This is awesome!

Could be great!!!!. It's an awesome app. Definitely gets my creative juices flowing. But some suggestions would be the ability to lock graphics or photos in place and an undo redo button for mistakes.

So worth it. I have used this app so many times and been absorbed by the creative process. The app is easy to use and so much fun. It's great for making comics of pets and so much more. You don't have to be able to draw, just let your imagination flow. Well done & thanks.

Easy to use. This app is straightforward to use, plenty of functionality and love that it is exportable in PDF format. My 7 year old loves it and the 12 yr olds I teach use it too. Great little app.

Description needs changing. The app is good and well worth the asking price. I was just hoping that when you said it was a fully featured comic book creation app you meant I could make comic books. Unfortunately I can only make single page comic images. I think it just needs a simple update to the description and all will be on track. It's a great app if you want to make fun posters/images/etc, the ability to make multi-page comics (books) is not currently included.

It's good, but..... As another reviewer noted, the way to make extra pages and books is incredibly clunky, nowhere near intuitive, nor easy. Apart from that it is a good bit of fun. Wish they had an OSX companion app that I could work on the comics at my Mac.

Love it!. Not sure exactly how I might put this app to best use, but I'm having a great time figuring it out. Kids love it & is brilliant for keeping them occupied...more so than games. Can also imagine office lunch rooms all over the world being plastered with comics made with Comic Book after the weekend's office party. Well worth the money!

It's a shame. It's a shame because this app has so much potential to be awesome but just doesn't convert. Would easily score 5 stars if you were able to add more layers of photos, be able to have more "stickers" and be able to change the text within them. Otherwise fun app to play with just expected a bit more for my $1.99 Hope for an update soon keep up the good work

Big fan. This is a capable app just to frame multiple photos, but it comes into it's own story-boarding funny moments. Easy to use, lots of options, recommended.

Good app, but unstable. After spending several hours creating a comic book strip, and then tried saving it, the app crashed and completely wiped all the work I had done. After the second time this happened, I went and bought a different app which worked flawlessly. So whoever decided it was a good idea to program the app to purge the memory after a crash - way to go moron..

Ironick. Great app though it's a little clunky to save your pages in app and then Make a new page. It seems as long as you save to camera roll everything is okay. Still, lots of fun!

Comic book. This is a really cool app! I like the captions and the speech bubbles. I also like how you can add your own photos to the page as well!! This app is definitely worth the money!!!!!!

Hidden expenses. The app, running on iPad 3, is okay if not a little low Rez but does the job it was designed to do with a slightly unintuitive interface. Now for the expenses which will drive this app from just a few dollars to hundreds of dollars in no time as you are slugged left, right and centre for absolutely every single pow, zap and bang sticker that is pretty well the norm if you intend to be serious about making a full comic. Sticker packs are priced at a point where you say why not but there are a lot of sticker packs to buy. In the end, if the developer continues to support and update this app, it may be worth it as there are things that need work but in the end it's all going to come down to you.

Get it now!. I love it. It stands out from the other million photo editing apps. Easy to use and actually quite powerful. Even if you only have a passing interest in this sort of stuff, check it out, if anything, it makes cool Facebook profile pics. Lol.

Great Fun!. I bought the original program a few years back for my Mac and had some fun with it. This is even better cos it's mobile! One issue? Can you turn the comic fx off once they're on? Great app guys! Lots of hours to be we'd here!!! LOL.

Great. Very good. Not great in app filters. Could use a couple more layout pages like one with a picture as the whole background then be able to place another image on top of the picture. Overall handy product that I use a lot l.

Outstanding!. Does everything perfectly. Easy to use, professional results when printed. My kids love this and so do I!

Many uses!. Great app, I have also used it for other purposes, I am rendering photos to then be cut as stencils for a street art style community mural project. Easy and fast!!

Comic hero. I bought this last night and its the only app I can think of in the last year. I really delivers. Great design, look, feel and ease of use. It has awakened my creativity. 5 massive stars.

Lots of potential, but clunky controls. Love what I can do with the app. Great features - stickers, titles, filters for images... But doing these things and making a comic strip is a bit clunky and can improve. Would be great to have a side menu - access my library of comic strips, different stickers, effects etc. without needing to go into 'create'. The buttons in general could be bigger so it's not so hard to tap them (eg. Create, fx, making edits). Zooming in to a comic strip would be great - especially for when there are multiple boxes in my layout. Making comic books, rather than just strips too would be nifty (ie. multiple pages). Looking forward to more updates!

Great app but. Hey this is awesome but when you save as a PDF file and email it to someone any speech you've got written in a caption box is chopped and the opened PDF from an email doesn't appear how it was saved in comic book. Its mega frustrating!! Fix please?!! My two star rating is down to this as I see it as a pretty major flaw. Cheers

4.5 start. Super huge potential to create almost limitlessly however only lost half a star because phone version here re this app needs a better tutorial or help button to make it little user friendly. Having said that...only takes a little longer to master cause of so many options. Awesome app highly recommend...!

Comic Book is great. Great app guys. The kids love it, I love it! Plenty of options to make your comics come to life and easy to navigate. Intuitive controls and endless fun for imaginative kids and playful adults alike.

Buggy this app should be free. The text wrapping and formatting in this app is so frustrating that I have buyers remorse. Sometimes it enters the wrong letter when you type, you cannot see words as you type, the formatting options are limited and reshaping text boxes is very unintuitive leaving white space and not centering or wrapping text correctly. Why the hell does text jump down to the next line when I haven’t pressed enter? If you are gonna charge money for this app it should work better.

Great potential!. As a standalone app, this app is pretty good. When used in conjunction with an app like toonpaint however, some amazing results can be achieved. To the developer if you are reading this: take a look at toonpaint and the function to make things as outlines, smoothen and color in. If this app could do that, this would blow all competition out of the water!

Comic colors.. Developers you need to seriously work on the comic colors and actually make them look like a comic design. Every single photo I've tried to use doesn't look anything like the fx's you advertise, and I end up not bothering using the fx filters cause they're so bad. If you're going to advertise as an actual comic fx then design it. 😡

Fun easy way to make a. I found it to be a really fun and easy way to create your own personal comic strip with your own pictures and story. highlyu recommended.

Good but could be better!. I would of have gave this app 5 stars if it didn't now & then crash on me & lose all my work! Maybe have some kinda built in save option behind the scenes in case of crashes?

Love it. Have been using this app for all sorts and I love it.

One of my favourites. This is a great little app that's only going to get better. Straight off the bat you can create wonderful effects that mimic the comic genre and quickly create pages you can share via email or social media sites. For me it works well as it is now but I'd love to have the ability to save a draft page, start a new one and then at some stage return to the draft. Another great feature would be a built-in magazine app that presents your comic in a page turn presentation.

Fun, however.... Despite repeated resets, App continues to withhold two purchased sticker packs. "Unable to download... Connect to Internet..." Well, DUH! Either send the packs or refund the $ please.

Great education tool.. My 11 and 13 year old sons use this app to create original stories and complete activities related to school novel study units. I plan to makee thematic party invites with this, as well as our Xmas newsletter. The possibilities are endless.

Fantastic but I wish it were a bit more flexible. Love it but... why can't text be rotated? Also it would be great if the images could be rotated with control so they don’t end up crooked.

Fun. This app could be a bit easier to navigate but it's a fun way to do something amusing with ALL those pics.

Pretty good for free. A few dislikes, like can’t create a text box larger than 4 characters wide without doing a switcheroo with a larger Flickr auto caption that you can then edit, and the constant “Lose your Changes” warnings when switching pages, when no changes have been made. But it got the job done to help me make a birthday comics card. Would be nice to be able to export more than one page at a time.

Great app. Way better then Halftone only thing is that Halftone gives you the option to change color of stickers, hope in the next update you guys can make it possible to Change color on stickers also be cool to be able to rotate title. Stoked on what new updates will bring!

Most fun with photos. Want to be a zombie why not or super hero sure. So easy to use , extremely forgiving.

You can’t export an album. You can just export page by page, the app should be called « comic page » since you can’t do a book and export it even in a pdf file. Useless app and waste of time.

Pretty cool. Very useful app, except for the feature where resizing the text causes the speech bubble to morph horizontally into a long 2 line bubble where the second can line can only contain 1 word. Seriously, what's the point in that?

Too many crashes!. This app has potential but right now it needs a lot of fixes. A simple save can often result in loosing everything you have been working on...very frustrating! Will not be using this app for a while.

No Support!!!!. There are some good things about this app, but there were recent undocumented changes that caused me to lose templates I created. You cannot contact them for support - their website request form simply doesn't work. Very unimpressed. Unless they actually start to care about customers I'd stay away.

Frequently fails to post to FB. Constantly having to re input settings to allow posting to Facebook. Gets REALLY annoying !!

Holy time-sink, Batman!!. I thought this looked like a bit of dumb fun for waiting rooms and bus rides, but this app is far more complex and absorbing than I assumed. The screenshots don't do it (dawn of) justice. So. Much. Fun.

I want to give it a 5, but...... So far it’s doing its’ job, (using it to create wedding stationary) BUT I just wish it was a little more user friendly. For example, some of the stickers are empty enough to put text inside them; however, there is no option to insert just text. I would also love the option to “bring forward,” “send to back,” etc. like some other art/editing apps. Other than those very specific complaints, haha, I absolutely love this app! Would definitely recommend and I don’t regret my purchase at all!

Happy customer. This is a nice, fun app that allows a lot of expression in a small package. You can easily make a basic comic in a few steps. The app is worthy of 5 stars as is, but could be even better if resizing for text panels worked a bit better, add a few more font choices, and allow export of the panels without text (maybe by toggling text off before export). Allowing sketching in the panel, and "paste into" the panel would make this excellent app even better!

Way To Go, App Makers!!. As a graphic artist, I know what it's like to mimic this style. This app does it so well it's like having a small, automated graphics shop working for you. I'm working on a small project for my son for his birthday. He has no idea! I hope to have him working off an iPad by next year. This will definitely be an app I'd buy him. It's fun. Easy to use. Fast. Wouldn't be surprised if they went up in price. So long as the customer service is there, I'd pay more.

Lovely app but major improvements needed!!. I do not usually right reviews but this is one app I had to write one for. Let me get this straight, I LOVE this app. It's fun and a great way to pass time. So why the three star rating? Well I bought this app because I was searching for a way to make a comic book as a gift for my friend. This app is not the app for this. The major issue I'm having is that when you convert the picture to a PDF file suitable for printing, the text gets cut off. This is a major setback and I can't find a way to fix it. The app could also be greatly improved by the simple addition of a zoom function for working on more detailed work and such.

Does the job, but needs improvement.. I make photo comics pretty often; about once a week. There are two things about this app that really annoy me. 1) It's hard to control what you're moving. I try to move the talk bubbles and the photo moves. Argh! 2) Text never displays the way I want it to. It can be narrow and tall when you'd want it to be wide, and you can't control line breaks with 'return.' So bubbles are rarely shaped the way I would want. Once, I wanted to write the word 'dishwasher,' and it insisted on putting the r on the next line. If you're reading this, dev... please fix! I really want more control of text formatting.

May be more trouble than it's worth. I have been using this app to make something for work. Although when it works, it is kind of cool, I've had several problems with it that have resulted in a lot of wasted time. 1. Often, it won't let me put spaces between words. 2. One time I was able to tap where the error was in a caption, but every other time I wanted to edit text, I had to delete from the end to where I wanted to make the change. 3. Once, the screen got completely stuck on the help screen with no way to get out of it. I had to force the app close and redo a whole page with 6 cells.

I really want to like this more...BUT.... The problem is that it only does a little bit of what it’s supposed to do at any given time. The expanding speech boxes do not expand. I can only email a copy of the image right after I do that page - not later. And I’m terrified that I’m going to lose everything because it keeps freezing up. I’m using new apple products that are all up to date on the software, so it’s not a hardware problem. I’m starting to suspect that this app has been abandoned by the developers. I hope that’s not the case. Please help me get this to do what it’s supposed to do!

It’s amazing. Still figuring out the ins and out, but I’m starting to make a one stop trip to this place rather than before when I had to use different apps to make my panel pages. There are somethings I have issues with, the first is the chat boxes, I love them butttt you can’t resize them properly. The other is the limit on panel pages... maybe have the option for us to create our own panels. Besides that everything else is good. Maybe make the save page feature a bit more user friendly. Again I’m still getting used to it but I will most definitely say it was worth the buy. 10/10 would recommend

Needs work. While this app has several cool features (comic style stickers and sharing ease), its interface needs improvement. Cases in point: 1. The FX access tab needs to be redone. It's hard to see it in the upper right corner and even harder to tap. I find myself wandering over the button and having to make several attempts before I can activate it. Really annoying. 2. Once I get the FX bar showing I run into more problems. Since the effects are overlaid over the photo, I have a difficult time seeing them. They are too small, and the dog graphic does little to inform me of the effect. Also, the text on the dog graphic is just too small and too hard to read to be of any use. 3. I'm unable to scroll down to see the complete strip. I've only used the two panel layout, but there doesn't seem to any way to scroll. My attempts only manage to move one of the photos. If these issues could be addressed (or I just need to be enlightened), I'd be willing to give more than 2 or 3 stars.

The BEST!. This app has allowed me to create effects on my photos that have not only a fun feel to them but a real powerful sense of superhero magic! Whether it's vacation pics or party pics or action pose pics for you superhero fans out there like me this app does it all! Oh and did I mention you can add comic book style texts and fonts and captions to your pics and projects! 5 stars it's the BEST!

Grrrreat!!!. I love this for so many reasons, oh where to start... Well, you can download the app and go. It is beautifully simple to use. Maybe the most intuitive I've come across. You can just put some pretty cool stuff together and the finished product is just fun. You can even send your new masterpiece directly to a printer (if you have necessary stuff). I look forward to any additional stickers and the such that hopefully will be part of the updates , little gifts for the users. Thank you for all the fun w/o the headache.

My Kids Won’t Put This App Down. I bought this app so my kids could play with some filters. We have a bunch of pets and I wanted to have them make a book of the pets as super heroes… These are the best filters I have seen and the kids will not give me back my phone since I’ve put it on there. But wait, you like it on the phone? Oh my will you ever like it on the iPad. I only got my phone back by putting it on the iPad... Great App, I will buy more 3dtopo apps

If you want.... If you are looking for a safe, fun app that is easy to use and cool, look no further. I love creating my own personalized comics and posting them on Instagram. It takes me a little bit but its cool. No wonder why it got app of the year!!! But I think there should be some improvements: you should be able to create entire comic BOOKS and not just one page. The stickers and stuff should all be free. And the holiday stuff like the beard costs money.

surprisingly full-featured comic making app. It has most of the features I'd like to see in a desktop version of this type of software. With a bit of pre-planning, you can have a fairly good looking comic made within minutes. The one feature it sorely lacks is an undo tab/button to quickly correct mistakes which would be extremely helpful since it's easy to accidentally move the background when you want to move a word bubble or vice versa on an iPhone-sized screen. Despite that, this is definitely the app to use for comic making on the go.

Amazing fun and laughs. This app is really nice if you're just looking to do some silly little strip, or if you want to do something more upscale. Super easy to use and a decent amount of options. My only complaint is that they don't have a 2 on top 1 on bottom panel. They have the opposite, and the panel menu even advertises that exact panel type, but it's no where to be found! Please add via update! Otherwise, very worth the money :)

Wish you'd go back a bit. The feature where one can add affects to the art, I don't care how it works now. The prior way was much more user friendly, where one could manage the look much quicker by viewing the variances that now one has to go through each one and it's too not as friendly as it was. (for me at least) I'll add more info when I start using this app as originally intended even though it's taken a few years to get here. Other than that, what you offer seems pretty useful. Cool even!

Love the app!. I haven't used all the other styles (not sure how to implement those in my projects- and this is the ONLY reason for not 5stars) it has to offer but I LOVE using the comic. Functions are great...it would be neat to be able to go "back" when applying an effect rather than starting over too. It would REALLY be cool if you could put put video in. Maybe not be able to play the video with the effects but to get the videos to play in the page templates....make a real comic book.

Good for quick comic. Many nice features makes this a great app for making quick comics: several stickers, numerous preset layouts, multiple fonts, a good selection of effects, ability to resize and rotate pictures in some frames with two fingers. For people who want more customization, this app lacks: ability to create your own frame layouts, ability to resize speech balloons with two fingers, ability to create your own text stickers (although it may be possible to import your own from another program). It would also help to be able to "lock" frames after you're done. Too often, I alter an unintended element while editing something.

ComicBook. I love this app and use it often. It could REALLY use two improvements: Being able to move the cursor around in a bubble; it works once in a while, but nearly always if you have a typo way back in the balloon, you gotta backspace all the way back- frustrating. Also I see no way of setting text style defaults. I use certain fonts , colors, sizes etc far more than others- yet have to choose them over again EVERY SINGLE TIME ! Big time waster! I keep waiting for an update to address these issues.

Still awesome. Simply amazing. This is one of the best and most used app on both my ipad and iphone. I spent more than 50$ only on apps recently, and how this rather simple-looking app can be so fascinating!!! Thank you developer you rock! It's a must-have. Now that's what I wrote three to four years ago... It still rocks! Thought all the stickers were gone but I guess ways to use them changed a bit.

Comictastic!. I've used several very fine comic book creation apps. This one, however, is the best...by far! It is extraordinarily comprehensive in scope, yet simple to use. It covers virtually every aspect of comic book building. And I suspect its developers will make it even better on an ongoing basis. Three recommendations: 1/ each page should be savable in the original CB format to allow for future updates/corrections as required; 2/ keep expanding the available stickers library; and 3/ allow opacity control of the backgrounds of the text objects. I really look forward to the updates to this near-brilliant app!

GREAT APP!!! with one small change it could be 5 stars. Wonderful app! Easy to use, great instructions, fun and intuitive to work with and nice to be able to export multiple formats and edit in other programs. One thing I would love to see change.. The fx buttons are teeny tiny, even on iPad.. So glad I'm not trying to use this on a phone. At points I have to tap the place where the fx button seems to be five or six times, even with a stylus. Other than that, I love this app!

So much fun!!. I have been having such a blast with this app! Just being able to put effects on your pictures with the variety of filters available is enough fun by itself, but getting to add speech/thought balloons and various action decals has had my sides aching with laughter since I started playing with this thing. I can't imagine getting bored with this any time soon. Also, the dev is clearly quite responsive with the updates. I never experienced any crashing myself, but I know that some people did with the early versions, and it now seems to be fixed with this update

Geeky,maybe. Fun, Oh Yea!!!. I got this app when it was new and loved it even then. But the regular updates have turned it into an outstanding app!! My whole family loves what this app does (and everything is SO easy). In just a few minutes you can comic book ANY picture or group of pics. GREAT FOR FACEBOOK. If you have kids or pets, it gets even funnier. HIGHLY recommend this app to anyone, even younger kids (my five year old has had no problems using this for over a year!). Thanks guys for all the fun!

Great app!. For those of us who have always wished we could draw, and had a comic book strip going on in our head, this app is a must. Easy to use, intuitive and immediate fun. I wish the add-on stickers had greater #s in them than 50 for $.99. Also wish there were a way to save each page in the app itself & be able to send them all as a pdf to an external printing source, like Walgreen's, et al. and pick up the completed book there.

Best photo app!. Exactly the kind of app I was looking for. I almost paid .99 for one that only had the toon graphics but no layouts and no caption bubbles. This is totally worth the 1.99. I have noticed some bugs: -I can search my saved projects but it opens a completely different project. this only applies when you have many projects that don't fit on the page your forced to search them. -I've made changes to my saved projects and replaced those files but they don't save my changes. I hope an update comes soon that fixes these.

Great Fun, easy to use. This app is a lot of fun, and the easiest to use art-related app I've found. It's easy to create authentic looking comic book pages, and a breeze to create a story using the titles, thought bubbles, captions and other tools. I'd pay for an upgraded app from this company with more features like more frames, fonts, stickers, captions, or that allows more fine tuning, but as-is, this app is pleasingly simple and fun!! 5 stars!!!!!

Some major problems. I decided to use this app for my travel blog comic strip, and have found it to be really problem some. You can't save them work file, so all you work gets lost if you don't get it done in one round. Working on numerous pages at once for story flow is impossible. 2. The are should lock down. As you tweak word bubbles the art tends to move. 3. Difficult to work with word bubbles. 4. You can not customize the panels. So you are locked into the few they have. But everything else can be worked with but you need to be able to edit your document.

Love the app.... I've had this awhile but have just gotten around to playing with it some. I do a lot of pictures of the family cats and have often commented that they'd be great comic strip subjects. I started working on the idea and having fun with it, but I found it difficult to figure out how to undo some of the actions without having to start all over. I would also like to have seen more stickers...perhaps divided by theme; and/or the ability to import stickers would be great. Would also like to see the speaking and thought bubble styles made interchangeable. This app is unique and has great potential, but I only gave it 4 stars because of the creative limitations.

Great App - Fun & Functional. Got it just for fun, but use it to make picture sets for school and church newsletters. Built in options are a little limited. (A few more fonts and color choices would be nice.) But there is a good set of graphics and effect images in the original set; and some other packs available to purchase for supplementing. I bought it as a fun addition to the great photo editing apps I had, and was happily surprised at how much better and usable it was that I'd expected. If you get it as your one and only picture editing app, you'll likely be disappointed. I'm giving it a top rating because I use it much more than I anticipated.

Love this app, just 1 set back... Don't get me wrong, this app is everything, I love it!! But I just wish it wasn't so sensitive when resizing an image, I wanna make a picture smaller inside a box and it rotates it a little, or a lot, without wanting too, then I have to TRY and get it back to how it was loaded, but it's semi impossible to. Give us an option where we can chose between zooming in, resizing, and rotating, the sensitivity is too much and some times I tend to steer away from the app when I want to do a quick collage pic. Love the app though.

Kind of clever. I like the app. Its FUN but needs several little tweaks. I would like to have more templates. For example, the portrait in the 14th position should also be duplicated and reversed so that the top block on the left is a large block. And, would like it if those templates were available in the landscape view too. Also, the last portrait and the last landscape templates need counterparts in the opposing orientations. It would be nice if you could flip an image. Changing the scale of images in small blocks is a challenge sometimes.

Great App but needs more stickers. This app DOES have tons of stickers. But I would like to see more in each set- you have scary eyes, hands and can even put wings on people- but I didn't see any teeth or horns to go with the set. Also would love to see "Good" stickers. What I mean is- you have lots of stuff to create BAD guys, but we need more to create good guys- like masks, stuff like the good super Hero's wore- emblems on their chest, belts, wrist bands, different eyes with different expressions. Would love to see that- I paid for all the sticker packs- I'd pay for one for "good guy and GIRL" stickers! Love the app!!

You could do wonders with this app if only!. I'll explain, when I searched for this app it's key draw for me was the video half (photo & video section in the App Store). I was greatly surprised after purchasing that this was not and option but instead only still photos? I felt/feel very let down. If in fact improvements to add 2-3 sec or more video clips to create comics this app would soar "that's in my view" as I'm sure also the view of many others. Read Before Getting This App. Initially I had a good experience with this app. In the last 6 months or so, it no longer functions as it should, despite the fact that I keep the app current with updates and my operating system is also up to date. I'm not a technical genius but I work with new technology of all kinds, every day, as part of my job. I know all the basics and then some to troubleshoot and I'm fed up with this It still isn't working properly & I'm done with it. Initially the app would freeze and stay in "sketch" mode. Then it would not allow me to delete a comic I was working on after it froze. Now, even though I made sure the app had access to my camera in my privacy settings, it still will not import pictures. This app has too many bugs to list and I'm done with it. Deleting it and looking for another one.

Still needs a fix.. I have used this app for years on my web comic and it has worked wonderfully. There are several additions I would like to see put into place but the last two updates have rendered the app unusable for me. Previously, you could press return several times and then backspace to make elongated speech bubbles. This feature is no longer included, so now, no matter the text, the bubble will only conform to the preset shape. That hinders fitting text in narrow spots above or below a characters head. The version two updates before this one would have a 4 or 5 star rating. More text options need to be included as well as color variations and bubble shapes. I would actually pay for an upgrade that includes the features mentioned and additional content.

Updates are buggy and unhelpful. I used to like this app until the most recent update. Now it is nearly impossible to put nice dialog boxes in pictures. First of all: the resizable quote box option still does not function properly. The words all run together and the box is very hard to resize. Second, the new "feature" of the automatically resizing quotes and caption boxes is not an improvement - it often results in awkward text where small words are left alone on their own line. How hard is it to have a feature where you can resize the box to your own liking? Lastly, very often you can't see what you're typing into the box - something weird happens and half the screen goes black.

In-app purchases don't load onto iPad.. I would have given this app 5 stars-- 6, for that matter, it's that good-- but for the fact that no matter how I try, the in-app purchases won't download onto my iPad. They do download onto my phone, but the iPad is where I prefer to do graphics so it's very disappointing. Besides that fact, this app is the most fun you will ever have with your clothes on. The effects are great, it's easy to use, and the results blow my friends away. Please, please, please fix the bugs so I can buy all the rest of the sticker packs without wasting my money.

amazing app!. This app is intuitive, flexible and powerful. It has so many cool features from Facebook and flicker integration to the combinable realtime filters and the ability to make sweet muti-page comic books. I love the page turn effect on the comic books. I use comicbook! for making my own comics to share and also with kids in my youth mentoring program. They love using it to create stories about things they are going through and we also use it for "visioning comics" where they create a pages depicting how they see their lives 1 year, 5 years, 10 years in the future and a page for when they are old.

SETS FREE MY INNER COMIC BOOK AUTHOR, GAY!. I HAVE HAD TREMENDOUS FUN WITH THIS APP. I have to say, however, that it is a very well designed program, with features that give you a tremendous range of creative control. I guess there could be more features but I'll not be ready for them for a while, as this program is so rich with material and image manipulation that I'll be learning new skill for a while just enjoying it. I have not used it for making a formal comic book but one could do that. I've been more into making thematically homogenous pages, and the tools and add on's allow great variety and really dynamic looking images. Text handling is beautifully designed. I love this app.

HANDS DOWN THE BEST!. This is hands down the best comic book app out there. If your like me and have kids, this is a great way to capture events. This app is worth much more than $1.99. I have not experienced any stability issues at all. Once you start using this app, you literally can't put it down. This is the ONLY comic app that makes your creations really look like a comic. It has tons of filters to allow you to create the exact effect you are looking for. I can't wait for more content updates!

ComicBook is the bomb!. I spent a few hours making a cartoon up of my friend’s visit. What a blast I had arranging the photos and discovering more about the app as I used it. I now have a fun poster to send my friend. Several things I wish: to be able to airdrop to my phone the creation I just made and be able to adjust the size of print from letter size to postcard size. Thank you for one of the best apps I ever seen! An artist’s dream!

Awesome idea. Update made the app more stable, though it still force closes on occasion, wiping out any progress you may have had. Also, it is annoying that there is a cap on the size of the picture that can be rendered. I got a good digital camera for high quality pictures but I can't use any of them in this application due to them all being slightly too large and frankly I'm not going to scale down my pictures when I upload to my iPad just to make them work for this thing. Good times with this one overall though. I would most like to see the ability to make multi-page comics (that would really put this over the top), more stickers, and the capability to use high-res pictures.

Works as advertised. I'm going to post my comic book on Facebook as soon as I'm done. It's about a it's about a middle aged man mired in mediocrity, until he discovers his extraordinary ability to turn anything he wishes into a high grade form of marijuana. Hilarity ensues when our hero has encounters with the police, mafia, hells angels, and the catholic church and that's just in the first issue. Hilariously good times. **Update** the app doesnt work properly after the new iOS 6 update.** I just made one while lying in bed with some pictures of our baby girl and my wife and I could not stop laughing at the finished product until we had tears streaming down our faces and we couldn't breathe. I've never written an app review before but I had to give this one props. Well done guys! You made us very happy.

Will be amazing, just not yet!. I love the app and use it with my students all the time. The only draw back is that you cannot save unfinished work and go back to it later. It makes it hard if you are working on several pages at a time or if students share iPads. Some bubbles do not expand with your writing which limits you. I also wish we could do stickers in different languages. Otherwise, the app is easy to use. I actually like the fact that there is not too many choices! Will be a 5 star for me when I can save different projects in different files, and work on them when I have time.

Almost good. I really wanted to like this app but it has one major drawback that keeps it from meeting my needs. Problem is... I am unable to find anyway to work on a project; close it out unfinished; and come back later and open it and work on it again. I can only see that once a project is closed, it is finalized no matter what stage you're at with it. I would love to come back later and revamp elements... just like you can in several other similar apps!! If someone can tell me how to accomplish this, I promise to come back and give it five stars. Thanks.

A Superior App. What a great app! I love it and will enjoy using it often for all sorts of things, like funny/snarky birthday greetings, reminding and relaying information to my friends and family, and encouraging a call or text from my kiddos, for civic commentary, and a variety of blog and web postings -- it's very cool and broadly equipped --what a deal! I suggest making single cells that you can them import into one of the multiple frame options. It's easy to jam and quickly generate an attractive and amazing little strip. I'm sure they will refine and include more ideas and options, but I'm happy with this app as is. And it has never crashed!

Helped me make a great Father's Day gift!. My husband is VERY in to comic books, so the kids and I made our own as a gift for him. The effects & fonts are great and once I got the hang of it, it was easy to use. I was expecting to be able to save pages into an album or something within the app, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Also, all my photos were too big (hi-res) to open in the app, and it was a pain to have to reduce their size first before being able to use them to make a comic. Only other suggestion- when you pick a font/size it would be nice if it would "remember" that for the whole page, instead of just for that frame.

Excellent Classroom Tool Except.... As a teacher who uses the app in class with students, I was thrilled when the recent update showed the company was still actively working with the app. However, the sticker packs, while a good price for what you get, are a bit, well, gross. The comic style blood and scary images must be great for certain projects but not all of us are making that type of comic. I would much rather pay for additional page layouts. Actually, I know I would pay for all the students to have more portrait page layouts as this empowers them to create their own original ideas and frame action and dramatic sequences differently. So... holding onto a five star rating (and our classroom budget) until more page layouts are added.
