Used to be able to use normal garmin extra icons in the old version Now not even an option to load them I want my spitfire back
after installing this 3 gigs+ beast my phone (iphone 6) slowed down to about a 3rd of its normal speed even if i was not using the app. upon removing the app speed came back. only to find out its not Ipad compatible. Ill eat the $65 dollars I spent on app and add ons. ALSO I bought the $5 addon that makes the buildings 3d Installed it..., nothing changed no 3d anything, Should have stayed with apple maps
Needs more updates and options.
Can't enter full coordinates in GPS seconds...have to use a DD converter online. Would be great to add more space allow input for full coordinates so I don't wind up lost.
Would love to see the find destinations along the route. I like to search for gas stations and restaurants. Would like to see quicker map updates as well.
My complaint is that the app is dated a bit. It's 2017 with large iPhones and we can't get an app that runs at the native resolutions?
Yes, aesthetically it looks and feels dated. But for a stand alone gps app, still, nothing comes close to the ease and reliability of this app (IMO).
I have retracted my previous reviews since all the kinks from 4 years ago were worked out! However, now I find myself using Apple Maps app for navigation since it works seamlessly with Apple CarPlay. I would truly love to see this platform have compatibility with Apple CarPlay in the near future. The Garmin app is perfect. Works better than the standalone's because of the iPhone's hardware. The user interface is dummy proof!
I love this app except for one thing. After reaching destination, I stop navigation but, the destination keeps running in the background. It is still running even if I delete recent destinations and totally reboot my iPhone which is a large battery drain.
I used to use Garmin exclusively and was hoping the extra vehicle Icons download would be fixed as I was told by Garmin this was a know big. To date this is still on problem. I even deleted and reinstalled the app.
The Garmin app update doesn't work for the iPhone 7. Uninstalled and reinstalled, now it opens but navigation doesn't work. It barely keeps up with where you are, route up and 3D don't work...has me well off the road, paralleling it.
Hard to find locations. Screen doesn't refresh consistently. Could be much better for the money.
Practically unusable after the update. I live in a big city and need directions to unfamiliar places frequently for work. The app just crashed 5 times on a 6 mile trip with rapid turns. It's been crashing like this for a couple of months now.
12-15-2016 This is Crazy, Garmin no longer care for the traveling public . Very unstable map if you don't have clue where you going, please use waze. Still cannot use my map, shut down after 4 minutes minimum wiles using iPhone 6 . A refund should be administered
The best part of this app is loading the maps on my phone. Even if I don't get any service the GPS is all I need to carry on.
I have been a loyal Garmin user for over a decade. It's time for me to part ways with this app however. My biggest complaint is the map file. It's 1.7gig and every time the app updates... it erases the old file and forces you to redownload. No choices, no options just open the app and presto "no map loaded". Pretty much happens to me every time I get off a plane and need to find my way to the hotel. Come on Garmin... every single one of your competitors has figured out how to put the large maps in the cloud. I know why you guys don't though, its because you are too cheap to hire real web developers, thats painfully obvious from your arcane web tools for your hardware devices. Your lucky your avionics are keeping you relevant otherwise youd be done. Wake up and get with the times.
This is a safety issue. Every time I use this app it crashes. I could be coming up on the turn in the app crashes and it is very dangerous to try to get it to come back up. When I get it back up it crashes again. I have used this application for years and this is very disappointing to see the lack of support you are giving it.
Latest version of the app closes repeatedly during use. During a 1 hour drive today, the app closed over a dozen times. Usually it will recall the destination and resume, but not always. Please fix!
New update 2.11.1 keep crashing the app while an app running often.... bad........
It keeps crashing! Uninstall and re-install the app doesn't help. GARMIN, WHY DO YOU HATE YOUR CUSTOMERS SO MUCH? P.S. The app seems okay if Traffic Service and trafficTrends options are off. It would be nice if somebody from Garmin tested the app before releasing it to customers...
