Nicely done. For the price it's a good multimedia book experience. No animation--just pan and zoom--but good illustrations and narrative without being over sensational. My 2.5 year old loves it and isn't scared which is a good sign.

My daughter loves dinosaurs...great entertainment and she's learning! Highly recommend.. Buy it if you have a dinosaur lover!!!

LOVE THIS APP!!. My 5 yr old nephew is going to love this app--the T-Rex is his favorite dinosaur. Don't hesitate to buy if you know a dinosaur lover. As usual, Smithsonian does a great job.

Wierd and boring. And the guy says tynrranasaurus Rex sooo many time. And the artwork isn't really that good. Really like the dr Seuss books. This one not so much.

Boring - Expected More. With this being by the Smithsonian, I expected more. A few of the page transitions were only close-ups of the previous page. It's digital, but there aren't any animations. No dinosaurs running or fighting, no birds flying or trees swaying. We should be able to touch the T-Rex and make his mouth open & close, at least. This app should cost between Free - $.99. I should've downloaded Jurassic Park or Dinosaur Train. Don't say I didn't warn you! Purchase at your own risk!

It. My 5 year old loves this app. Excellent!! Read to me or even allows the child to flip the pages reader or I can read the story to him at our leisure. I only wish they had more Smithsonian topics to buy. ie Flight or Natural History This is amazing.

Left Wanting. Decent but left wanting for price - no animation, few pages, solely focused on t-rex. Son finished in like 5 min.

A great way to educate and entertain your kids. Most apps only last a few minutes with my daughter, but this one kept her engaged for hours. She kept listening to it again and again, to the point where my wife and I had it memorized. I thought the book might be too hard for a 4 year old, but because the app read to her, it was no problem at all. I think t Rex is her new favorite word.

Pretty basic. Nothing like Morris Lessmore's book. In fact, this book is completely static, it's highlights only include sound effects and changing of zoom level!

Great App. The music and sound effects really bring this story to life. My 9 year old pretended that he was too cool to enjoy it, but I caught him reading the story over and over! Well done

Great for my toddler!. This app is a must have! My husband drove for 8 hours and I run out of things to do to entertain my toddler. I was lucky to find this app and immediately got. It helped us to finalize a successful and long road trip!

Great app for autistic son!. My autistic son's area of interest is dinosaurs, and he's learning to read. He only likes non-fiction and only books with realistic pictures. I have a hard time finding realistic Dino books with narrative flow. This app is perfect! We want more just like this!!! Love that when you tap pics, the narrator gives accurate Dino names, too!

Not bad.... My two year old son thinks it is great. You can touch the dinosaurs and the app will say the name. It is a book. The words are written on the screen, and when you touch each word, the app says the word for you, making it a good aid to in learning to read. On each new page, the app reads the next part of the story aloud. It was a bit juvenile for my 12 year old daughter, who wants to be a paleontologist. She has a vast knowledge base of dinosaurs, and believes the app to be somewhat elementary for her. She thinks the app should end with Barney the dinosaur singing "I Love You, You Love Me." It is, however a good early tool.

It's terrific. My 4 yr old & I were both caught up in the drama. He's watched it 3 times already. Lol. Fun & Educational.

Pretty good, but some flaws. First of all, the mispronunciation of Ankylosaurus is annoying. This is a book about dinosaurs - at least get their names correct. My four year old was exasperated and said, "Why does he keep saying ankylosaurus wrong?" It would also benefit from additional detail at the end. The "About Tyrannosaurus Rex" section is pretty weak and has little real information. That said, son did enjoy the story.

My 5 year old says, "I love it!". This is well done. The story is engaging and the pictures are wonderful. I just wish it had a bit more for the price. Maybe an update with another story? Or an add on with more of an interactive nature?

I own ~20 of the ocean media books. And this isnt one my son (4yrs) favorites. He really likes to poke around and see the different words for the objects on the screen. There very few selectable object compared to other of there books lines and it doesn't say the words for the few object anyways. It pretty book, just not on par with the Dr Seuss or Little Critter books.

Dino-MIte!. My grandson just loves dinosaurs, and this story idea is fantastic! Great read to me or read on his own app. Since he is prekindergarten, we really like the read to me feature.

Educational. My son loves it!

Too bland. My 6-y.o. son didn't ask any questions about what he saw and heard in the book - generally a sign a book was of only moderate interest. As he's currently asking 100's of questions about which critters eat what for lunch, the missing 'scary bits' are exactly the sort of thing he would have enjoyed. Pity. I would also have liked to see something at the end about fossils etc. I think the Smithsonian could have added a bit more of the science. Overall ok, but not brilliant.

Needs way more features for price asked. My 4 yr old was bored with this after the first time using it. Not interactive enough. There are better free apps than this. Until they upgrade this significantly, look elsewhere.

My 3yr old loves this!. Keep these books coming!!! We have all four three & my son listens to them almost daily. He loves them & he learns a ton!

Has Potential. This has potential but falls a little short for the price. My kids were bored with it very quickly. No real interactivity. When you click on the animals, it just merely says their name. No sound effects or movement. Basically it is as if they scanned a book and applied the Ken Burns effect.
