Good app but ads kills. Killer ads going to next app for a better experience

Great. Extremely practical!!

Only shows ads now!. This used to be a decent app. Now, after I put in my amounts needing calculated, it sends me to a page full of nothing but ads, with no way to get back to the tip app, so it’s now a useless app. I have since deleted it and will seek out a new tip app, or simply use my brain!

Used to be the best but new obnoxious video ads killed it. This used to be the best free tip calculator. Like most free apps it had adds in the background which didn't bother me. But now it's unusable without paying because they started using very loud obnoxious video ads. I refuse to use any non video app that uses video based ads. How embarrassing if you are in the restaurant and one of these ads plays! I'm not going to pay to remove ads just on principle.

Best Tip App Ever!. This is, by far, the simplest and easiest tip app. Calculates quickly and accurately. Helps avoid both under and over tipping. Also prevents confusion when dividing the check among multiple payers.

Tip calculator. I have used this app for several years and loved it. However I’m done now until they get rid of the auto-play AUDIO ads. How embarrassing in a restaurant!

Make sure you're muted. Not worth it for the ads. You have to wait 5 seconds for them to go away while they play obnoxious music--in between every single thing you look up. In addition, the app is missing some of the most basic things I was looking for. Dumping it.

Functional but ADDS. The app is well created and easy to quickly figure the appropriate tip for unusual occasions. BUT! There is a but to this. Put your phone in airplane mode prior to opening the app. Trust me, this will save you time and the embarrassment of the obnoxious adds that pop up at every screen change. If not for the extremely obnoxious ads I would have given 5 stars. Actually the 3rd star I'm conflicted over.

Oops!. This app is an oops! Put in the subtotal without tax and you get the correct calculation. If you enter the full amount with tax, THEN tell it tip pre-tax, it gives you an incorrect calculation! It should be exactly the same! Somebody mis-programmed it or doesn’t know their math! NOW, the last few days, when you hit the “done” button, a huge full page ad jumps out at you with startling loud music!! Also when it does, it very often blanks what you had just input. Can’t live with this! You’ve got to fix that!! I offloaded this app. Found a MUCH NICER ONE!!

ADS WRECK IT! $$ is WORSE!!!!. While I have used and liked this app for awhile, the ADS HAVE TAKEN IT OVER, and at the most inconvenient times. Ready to DELETE. Update: BOUGHT IT. Cheap tippers when you go thru the sections. I would never be so cheap. May I please have a refund?

I need the ads off. Love this app but hate the ads, it is so irritating that I do not even look at what it’s advertised so it’s not effective, is there a way to get a paid version to illimitable these annoying ads

Works For Me!. I was a Fine Arts major in college, so math is not my forte. This app makes it so easy to make sure the tip is correct every time!

It would be 5 star but.... ...the Ads right from the moment you open the app is absolutely ridiculous!! I simply entered the amount I of my check and I got a pop-up ad. Sorry, but no...delete. I would rather pay $ then deal with that. Honestly, have a ticker/crawl thing across the bottom that doesn’t interfere with the interface/input of information in the app. Sorry, it’s a real shame because you can see from the design that much time was taken to construct a quality product that is now being wasted due to ridiculous pop-up and inhibiting ads.

Best way to figure out tipping. I use this ever time I go to the beauty salon

Too many ads!. I like the app for tipping but way too many ads! It’s super annoying especially when you are trying to add up the tip.

Calculations are on point. So far this app has never let me down.

Adds pop up when you click on anything. I understand free apps must have amount of adds to support the cause but this app is very pathetic. Each action I do such as see what is the appropriate tip for Valet, hotel, etc, freakin full screen adds pops up. I literally mean “with each click”. Some apps wait a few mins or even after a few clicks before showing you a new add. This is so very lame.

Handy App. This app is simple to use & clearly gives all the details for the check. Love it!

Ads. Ad pops up before calculation. Clicked X several times & wouldn’t go away. This will not work when trying to fill out a receipt. No ads!

Adds.... I understand free apps have adds but this one, has some crazy adds that don’t have an option to close. The only way to get rid of them, is to close the app and to open it again...

Works well in NYC. I settled on this App. after trying a few. I use the tax field when there is a delivery charge so as not to tip on the delivery charge. It works. No complaints.

Party size feature not available Apple Watch app.. Not able to calculate tip by party size on Apple Watch. Just available on iPhone APP...so you just have to use your iPhone which has full app capabilities included.

Over the top advertisement!. Picture you are at a fine dining restaurant and you pull out your phone to use the tip calculator. You input the info and you are blasted by a full page ad with blaring music. You fumble to find the microscopic X to close it as all eyes in the restaurant are glaring at you. DELETED!

Too many pop up ads. Pop up ad with every calculation is annoying enough to cause me to search for another app.

Convenient!. Every time I'm at a restaurant, spa, etc. I pull up this handy app. It lets me know the customary percentage for the the level of service I review and how much I should be tip!

Horrible functionally. It does what it says it does. But it’s not fluid or easy to calculate a tip after dinner. You can’t just enter in the check price and get a tip value and see how much it would be split in two. You have to hit DONE before it calculates. Extra steps that constantly annoy me and makes this tool useless in my opinion. I loved the tipulator app but it’s dead. So I’m still searching for a viable replacement and haven’t found one yet.

Ads 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼. C’mon! I know there needs to be ads but it’s ridiculous when I need to check for a tip amount when I am up at the cashier’s stand, and they’re waiting on me. I’m calling it up and get smashed with ads trying to find the “x” to get it off the screen. Must you make that “x” as tiny as a gnat??!!!!!! Until you fix this, I don’t think this app deserves me rating it any higher than 2. I’m hoping that someone coding can make this app at least a 4 star rating - again. Please?

Ads with sound. Ads are OK, but now they pop up with sound ... loud. In a restaurant where you’re most likely to use a tipping app, it is rude and unacceptable. Used to be a good app. No longer.

Way too many ads. I understand you’ve got to make money from this app but having an ad pop up on every new window you open is a bit ridiculous, makes the app unusable.

Handy tipping tool. I had no idea how to tip and what would be appropriate - the calculator helps work out tips before tax and the the insights on what to tip staff such as tour guides etc has been invaluable!

Killer of sanity. While I appreciate a free app and expect ads, this is the most RIDICULOUS thing I have ever opened with the biggest overuse of ads I have ever seen. You can't press one thing without a full page ad opening up. Just... don't bother. They pretty much insult you with this app.

Discouraged. The dollar is in euros. I paid $6.00 to remove and adds and able the change to my country in Canada. It says it’s Canadian dollar but it is still calculating in euros.

I wish there were more stars. This is one of the most satisfying apps I've ever used. I don't know what I'd do without it. I have a very poor memory and trouble concentrating, but when I go to pay my tab, all I have to do is check with Tip Check.

Super App. Sometimes I cannot brain and this app covers it all. Use this all the time. Plus has seldom used info like how much to tip the person who keeps toilets clean. "Not Worth It" wrote app was hard to use, I strongly disagree I find it to be very easy to use. Thank you from those of use who find it hard to think "on our feet".

My tip- get this app!. Love this tip app. I am a business traveler who relies heavily on this app! Love that I can quickly find out what to tip various service providers; international ones too. I told my co- workers about it and they downloaded it right away. Super easy to use. Plus the developers responded promptly when I asked a question. Impressive!

Ad-free. Needed to upgrade (only 99 cents) to the advertising free version. It is in settings on the bottom. The ads were really excessive and popped up over the whole app but the 99 cents was worth it!

Mamadude. I've been using this app for many years and it is fun to use in that it gives the top in several ways with or without tax. One person or more and tipping for a lot of different services. Great app!

Works every time.. Works for me! This app makes finding the tip, easy as pie! Once I realized I didn't need to type in a decimal point for cents, I was good from then on. I definitely would recommend this app!

Very useful. I use this all the time. The only problem is dealing with coupons when I want to tip based on the gross but then pay the net. Can be confusing.

Apple Watch App needs work. I got this for the Apple Watch. While the iPhone app is as good as it can get, the Watch app would be too it it did check split. What/if it does I'll give it 5 stars. BTW I looked exhaustively for a Watch app that calculated correctly on the bill and notg including taxes and and did check split and could not find one.

Fantastic!. I'm not sure why the reviewer before me believes this to be too complicated. It's maybe the easiest way I've ever seen to not have to do basic math, or worry about tipping incorrectly. Highly recommend for EVERYONE.

Easy peasy. Easy app to use and I upgraded from ads quite awhile ago. Subsequently, I have had no ads so no interruptions. I use the app frequently when going out and have had no issues and find the program easy to use.

Best in its class. I searched for a good tip calculator for simple dining, and this filled (out) the bill and then some. However, when physical issues necessitated my first pro message, the first time they had a "guide" at the spa in tipping- which would have meant for a good message I would be tipping over 20%! Thanks to this ap, I knew that was way over doing it, and could pull it out and calculate a fair tip for an excellent message, but not feel guilty if it was less than Message Envy said. You never know when you might be in a new situation - like a first limo ride- and if you keep this handy, you can be confident you are handling it right!

Good app. Great app for people who want to tip appropriately! The only recommendation I would make is sometimes you just get the total including tax. So it would be nice if there was a way to indicate includes tax, tip before tax with an average US tax rate of maybe 8% deducted from entered amount and calculate tip on that amount. If you have total with tax there is no way to calculate tip before tax without first doing a calculation which is the point of the app to NOT have to. Hope that makes sense. Great app and do recommend download!!

Just ok--incorrect for major cities. So this app is fine if you are in the mid-west, or middle of nowhere...which as a traveler, is that really where you want to go? Or do you want to see NYC, Boston, San Francisco, Hollywood, or Vegas-baby? If you hear the siren songs of a major city, this app will lead you to be at best, that typical tourist who doesn't know any better, or at worst, that jerk who under tipped. So. Bottom line. Add 5% to the numbers here. The average tip for major cities is 20%. And that's usually AFTER tax priceis added, not before). If you get better to great service, plan on 25-30% tip. No. I'm not in the customer service industry. I was, back in college, and I can tell you I lived on tips, not salary. And those big cities are super expensive to live in or commute to. I'm now a customer who knows how hard that job is, and how hard it can be to smile at the next guy when the last guy was difficult. So forget this app, use the simple calculator function that comes with your phone and multiply the bottom line by 1.2 for your total bill or 0.2 for your tip only. It's that easy. I travel internationally, but haven't paid the buck, yet. So I can't comment on that. I will likely just check a guide book or google, since I am now suspect of this app's opinion. Ps if you are the developer and decide to correct the numbers, I will gladly reconsider my rating.

Very Useful. Accurate and easy to use for precise tip amounts. Not just for foods, but for use in other areas/services too (from valet to bell hops to dog grooming). Calculates and provides guidance, suggestions and standards for tipping. Easy to use and understand.

Pop up hell. Way too many pop ups. You’re in the middle of doing something and a pop up interrupts it. Useless. Uninstalling ASAP.

Annoying ads. The calculator works fine. If you want to know what is the recommended tip for a specific type of service it directs you to an ad that you cannot delete you have to listen to the ad it's extremely frustrating.

Review. Tax should be included with the bill not added in separately

Tips Ahoy!. This is a great app that not only provides an easy to use tip calculator, but a handy guide to how to tip in different settings -- barbershop, taxi, hotel staff, etc. there are a lot of apps that try to do some of these things but this one hits the ball out of the park with all the tipping tools and information you might need.

I'm a better tipper because of this app. I always assumed I was giving enough when I tipped. I know realize sometimes I was way under 20% sometimes way over. Now I know exactly what to tip

Free Ap or Ransomware?. I would have rated this app higher, but I have never downloaded an app with such intrusive ads, and I have a bunch of truly free apps. Every time there was a tip calculation, you don't just get a banner ad on the top or bottom, you get a full page ad that obscures the tip information requested. To see the information, you need to "x" out the ad. I felt like it was holding me hostage to upgrade with payment or continue to get a full screen ad. Buyer beware! (ChuChu)!

One addition I would like. The author of this app included "party size" in the calculation for waiters. Although there are times the diners do not pay equally, I often go out with friends where we do split the bill equally. I wish there was an additional entry that automatically calculates what each diner should pay if it was divided equally. As it is, I have to leave the screen to make the division elsewhere.

Tipping for the clueless!. I can't find another app like this! No more, "should I tip and how much?" I wish it had some backgrounds or colors to make it more interesting and a coupon/giftcard field under the dining calculation, but overall an easy, useful app! Kudos!

Awesome!. Awesome! Quick and easy to use. Easily adjustable tip. Tip recommendations for various services. My favorite feature is that the advertisements come AFTER you've calculated the tip. The previous tip calculator I had took me directly to an advertisement when I opened it, which was very annoying when you're pulling out out at the register to calculate the tip!
