A good travelers app. A good traveling app which I had ever seen. It's helps me a lot to know about other language's meaning. Glad to have it in my iPhone 4. I've decided to use it when I travel to non-speaking English countries.

Amazing!. Apps like these make everyone jealous, I can't believe how awesome it is to have instant translation and really accurate! (also great if you are learning the language) but I use it most just to show off!

Good but lacks a major component for me.... I live in Japan and can read kanji to a certain degree and this app would be fantastic IF IF IF it would provide the reading for the kanji instead of just providing the English translation. In Japanese there is a phonetic alphabet called kana and all kanji can be described using the phonetic alphabet. If the kana for each character or groups of characters were provided then this would actually be a fantastic study tool. As it stands it simply provides a quick fix and that may prove to be helpful at times but not nearly as much as if it provided the kana. Here's an example: The kanji 行く means "to go" and you read this "iku". If the reading "iku" were provided in the kana form like this, "いく" I could then study and learn how to read it in Japanese as well as know what it means. One last detail... Most kanji have two ways to read them, on-yomi (Chinese reading) and kun-yomi (Japanese) reading and both are used and important so both the "on" and "kun" yomi should be provided. Here's one simple example: 山 is the kanji for mountain. The "on-yomi" is "san" or "さん" and the "kun-yomi" is "yama" or "やま". Usually, when two or more kanji are put together side-by-side, they are read using the "on-yomi" and when they are on their own they are read using the "kun-yomi". PLEASE keep this in mind for a future upgrade!!!

Worthless. This app is a worthless waste of money. No tutorial, no help functions that I could find. Can not figure out how to change langauges. It defaults with English to Spanish/Spanish to English but it doesn't appear to even do that properly. Doesn't recognize the words properly, spits out a lot of gibberish. I wanted this app to learn some Japanese as I want to travel to Japan one day but can not figure out how to switch to Japanese. Worthless app, wouldn't have for free, definitly not worth the purchase price.

Gift for Travelers. I'm currently residing in non-speaking English country and this app helps me a lot to recognize and translate almost everything. I can able to translate printed words and even signboards. Must have one for travelers.

Too Slow. I wish it's a lil bit faster. And I agree about the 2 different kind of Japanese reading. Another wish, after you take a picture, it would be better if it'll translate the whole sentence not just the word. This app is not cheap. So you better update soon.

Perfect for World Traveling. I travel a lot. I live in a country where I don't speak the language and this product has become indispensable! Makes grocery shopping and ordering food much easier, not to mention dealing with bus drivers and train station schedules!

Perfect for my vacation. It defines AND translates simply by using my phone's camera? At first I couldn't believe the description, but I took a chance anyway, and downloaded the app. I'm glad I did, because it's one of the most useful and convenient apps I've seen. It works exactly as described, and it does it quickly and without a hitch. I'm going to Mexico with the family next month, and this app is pretty much the only translator I need.

Great tool for the traveller.. If I was in Europe I would use this everywhere. Menus. Signs. Shopping. Works as described. Scan a word and it translates it into chosen language. Works fast. Great way to learn new words in another language.

Okay app. This app does pretty well considering it is translating merely from a picture. I do wish it had more languages and sometimes it's a bit glitchy and doesn't produce accurate results but I think those that knock it down are expecting too much.

a great translation app. the unique feature of this app is that you just need to point your iPhone camera to the word, and you get translation result instantly. On the other hand, you can also take a photo, and the app will do an OCR, and translate the whole sentences. You can choose different most popular online translators, and the recognition rate and the translation quality are both pretty good. I think it can be the only translation app that you need.

It definately works. This is an extremely handy and easy to use tool. The only downside that i can see is that it can give way too much information when translating words or sentences. It can be difficult to sort out the correct information.

Useless. Useless app. Can only translate one word at a time and requires several seconds of keeping camera absolutely still to do so. Translating an entire sentence or paragraph would take so long that you would forget the meaning of the first words by the time you got to the last. Keeps no useful record of previously translated words, so you couldn't string together a whole phrase, even if you did have the patience to individually translate each word. App claims to translate a photo of a paragraph, but still only does it one word at a time (you have to tap each word in the photo one at a time to get a translation of that word only). Also, it is only able to correctly recognize about 50% of the words in any photo. Finally, it only works with an Internet connection, so if you only have wifi, you probably won't be able to use it when you need it. I am very sorry I spent my money on this.

This is an indispensable app for travelers. Worldictionary is really an amazing app for those of you who plan on traveling abroad or who do frequest business trips to other regions. Even if you are around multicultural environments with different language groups or are simply learning a new language yourself, you should grab this app. The amount of different languages supported is staggering. Translations of texts from 21 different languages (including English) is available to users. The app is automatic so you do not need to look a word up. All you do is point the camera at words from different languages around you -- like a traffic sign or a segment in a book -- and the app does the translation automatically. If you want only a segment translated from a block of heavy text, simply snap a picture of the segment of writing and drag your finger around the words or sentence syou want translated. I have fmaily living in different countries and continents around the world, so this app is perfect for my needs. I am glad to know an app like this exists making me not have to rely on traditional and slow processes like using a dictionary to look word sup by hand. If you are even a video game fan of Japanese role-playing games, for instance, an app like this could make translations so much easier and the games so much more enjoyable to play. There are many uses for the app and am glad to have found it.

Great Translation App!. You can simply point the camera towards single words to get an instant translation, or take a photo of a sentence/paragraph and have it translate the entire sentence. You can translate from your language to a foreign language as well - without any textual image. Just select the sentence translation, use a random photo, manually enter whatever you want to translate and it'll make the translation. You can even have it speak the translation! More common languages use a human speech, less common languages (Albanian, etc.) use a computer voice. I don't travel very often; but, this is one of those apps that's just great to have on hand -- you never know when you might need to do a quick translation from a foreign language or to help speak with someone that doesn't speak your language.

Awesome. Wow! Tried and love it! This is perfect to translate menus in fancy restaurants. The fact that you don't need to type everything is really cool. I will tell my friends about it

great app, best of its kind. I've had the opportunity to test this application out for a few hours and I've tired other apps similar to this. By far, this app is the best of its kind no doubt about it. Even though the price is a bit steep, it'll pay off eventually and is worth the money, no doubt about it. Amazing for trips!!!. This is a must have Utility app if you are traveling to a foreign country! If you can't read a sign or something, just open up Worldictionary and it uses the camera to translate that word! The best feature is that you can save a picture with multiple sentences on it and then go back later and select certain words to translate. Great if you need to refer back to a foreign message or when you're studying! It would be even better if you could select multiple words at once! This app is worth way more than the 3.99! Everyone with an iPhone should have this app!!

It's as good as any of them, but has limitations. As real-time ca,era translators go it works as well as the others. It has some important limitations. The Chinese-English dictionary ONLY works FROM English and cannot translate from Chinese. You Cannot use it to go form Chinese to English. Using the sentence translation is slow and cumbersome. I don't know why it doesn't try to capture a sentence in real time, but you must capture a photo, then accept it, then mark the region, then accept that, and then proof the OCR and accept that, and then initiate. Translation. And, with the sole exception being English-to-Chinese, you must be online.

Amazing App!. Hands down best translation app on this app store, not a single problem has arose when using it thus far. Love the user interface, awesome developer help and great price! This is going to be helpful in Europe tomorrow. I am leaving today and will use this a lot tomorrow. AWESOME!!!! :D BUY IT!

Incredible camera dictionary. This is an application the will translate one language to another by viewing the text in real life via the camera. I am so shocked that this is possible and am extremely impressed by this technology. I was able to point the camera at Japanese and it showed me the translation without me having to enter stroke order or have any kind of knowledge. For someone who travels or is learning a language, this can be seriously useful and save a lot of time. For example, if you are in Tokyo, this could translate street signs or food items on a menu. How incredible is that! There are a few minor flaws, such as not the greatest selection of languages to choose from. Luckily, for more “obscure” languages, there are ones available for an additional purchase. This is strange since the app is pretty pricey already. Also, when selecting things, such as languages, there Is no “done” button. Sometimes I found myself confused how to confirm a change with various options because of this. So not the most user friendly app out there, but an incredible advancement in technology that I highly recommend for anyone – there is a free version to try!

This is an awesome translator app!!!. I love this app. You just point the sight at any word you want to translate and boom the translation appears. This app is great for travelers who frequent foreign countries and don't speak the language. This app can even save your life if you find your self lost in an unsafe area and you need to rely on signs to make your way to safety. I even use the app to translate words in books or even from the screen on my computer. Well worth the $$$.

Best in class for Japanese. I am in Japan for work for the next year, and had bought 2 other iPhone camera translation apps, both of which were so-so in terms of speed and accuracy. Then I found Worldictionary in the featured apps and gave it a try. It has quickly become one of my go-to apps. It is pretty fast and very accurate. I can point it at a sign or an ingredient list on something at the grocery store and get a good idea of what it means. Not auto-detecting the language may be a bummer for some, but I think that choice allows for better translation accuracy and speed than some others I have tried. This app has helped me to read things in a pinch and also is helping me to keep learning the language every day! Thank you Worldictionary!

Great app. I was impressed with how quickly and easily it began working. Just point your phone at a word, and watch it work it's magic. This is one of the best apps I've ever seen. Very attractive interface, and it does exactly what it advertises. I highly recommend.

For Korean, it's just OK. I'm not sure how well this works with the other languages but it will only do one character at a time for Korean. The problem with this is it doesn't put the character into context... no sentence format in other words. It should grab everything and then translate. This is almost worthless for Korean and I'd assume for most Asian languages. I have no idea about the Latin type of languages.

Nice App!. I enjoyed the interface and the style of translating from one language to another. Of course with any type of translation software it's not perfect, but still you get the idea of what you are reading and maybe learn how to read a language that's not familiar to you.

Very impressive and usefull. This app really impressed me, supports a lot of languages, is fast and easy to use. I'll be using it a lot when I travel about, that's for sure. The only thing I'd change is the bookmarks, should be easier to bookmark something, apart from that, 5/5

Best I've found. I had some posters with Japanese text to translate. I bought 3-4 iPhone programs for the job. I photographed the text (Radicals), used photoshop to isolate and increase the contrast of the text. I used the modified text as an image in my iPhone. Although the OCR is not perfect, it found the correct ones about 75% of the time which is VASTLY better than all the other programs I've tried. The interface is easy to use, much easier and less frustrating than some other programs. This program did the bulk of my translation job and I highly recommend it.

Good app!. This is a great app, and is very useful, but photos aren't always very accurate, and sometimes, I had to change what the app thought a photo was. Sentence recognition is good, but it took so long to get the actual result, that it would have been faster to just type what it said. The translation for whole sentences after they were recognized was good, though. Overall, this is a good and useful app, but it needs some slight improvements.

Awesome Translation app, pocket translator. This app stands top for its awesome features. I am amazed to see my iPhone camera translate the the words.. pretty cool. Now i can easily read the words in other languages. Now i don't want to rely on PC for Translation. Simply it works great as promised.

The English to Chinese translation is superb!. I am so glad I made this purchase. As a student who can't afford to waste time on flipping through dictionary every five minutes, this handy app allows me to instantly have the answer in my hand. I love it so much, and would recommend it to anyone who is trying to learn a new language, especially those in a foreign country! The recognition is fast and the translation is more accurate than I expected. Totally awesome!

Wow; the features are endless. I am honestly floored at all this app is capable of. The accuracy is amazing, it recognizes everything I have tried to take a picture of. The translation is perfect and I have tried so many variations. This is one app that is worth every cent; I simply cannot say enough positive things! 10 stars; HIGHLY recommend!!!

DOES NOT WORK.. Save your money

Works. This app is very cool. I love the translation without typing. You just poing the phone at the word and it shows you instantly what the translation is and will even say it outloud for you. I could see this being used alot while traveling and would make a great learning tool.

Amazing App!. An amazing app recognizes characters soon and gives exact results. Just by pointing my camera to any word it defines and translates in multiple languages instantly which inspires me a lot. Just feels that having an encyclopedia in my hand itself.

very impressive!. works exactly as described, with fast live translations. the whole sentence translation from pictures also works pretty well. from my initial testing, it seems to perform much better with Chinese vs European languages - it's amazingly accurate with Chinese characters, even easily recognizing multi-character words. there's also an offline dictionary for English to Chinese translation (but strangely, not the other way around). overall it's a really terrific app that could help language students and tourists. for future updates, I would really love to see optional downloadable offline dictionaries for languages other than Chinese (or at least add Chinese to english offline).

Instant translation! Great for tourists!. Can you believe it? Point your iPhone camera to any texts and get the translation! I don't even need to type in the words! This is a great feature if you are on the go. Highly recommended app!

Perfection!. This is a "MUST HAVE" app to take along when you travel. You just need to point your phone camera to any word or phrase you need translated and the app will do this for you. Imagine, foreign language signs and menus will no longer be a mystery! It translates from and to a variety of languages and speaks out words it recognizes using voice. The OCR is very fast and accurate. The Google and Wikipedia links are helpful as they can give additional information about words. The built-in dictionary allows you to use it in offline mode as well. A nifty flashlight is a huge boon for when you need extra illumination if it's dark. The interface rocks! It's professionally done and easy to use. There is no need for a manual for this app because the interface is really that good. The developers have thought everything through and executed it perfectly.

Useful. Why I love this app? Simple when I wanna translate something point at the word and when it catch it I can google on wikipedia on the same app. Give a lots of meaning about the word and I Also get verbs. I recommend it wont regret.

So many languages!. The Worldictionary app has a huge selection of languages to translate from/into, and the added pronunciation feature is excellent if you are scanning foreign text and need to learn how to say a word. This app is fantastic for anyone traveling to foreign countries or even just to truly understand your local chinese food restaurant's menu. Works great and does what it says it will do. Can even use it to help kids learning to read, they can get help pronouncing words that are difficult for them just by using this app.

Fantastic app!. I have tried many other translation apps, and none where able to do what Worldictionary can do. The instantaneous translation is absolutely incredible. I love that you can hear the word pronounced and get the definition of the word and then bookmark it for later. Highly recommend!

Pretty cool!. This would be better if you could download word packs, though. For example, if you could download a word pack of common words in English in Spanish, or a pack with less common words and have those when you don't have network connectivity.

Superb!. This is by far the best translation app I've ever used. So simple and it works every time! I'm studying Spanish and this app has helped me immensely. The instant translation feature is so fast if you quickly need to translate a word or two in a sentence. Highly recommended for people studying a language or a traveller in a foreign country.

More useful than expected. I was surprised at just how resourceful this app can be. I only really expected it to help when traveling overseas to translate but, it will help me so much in learning Italian (and/or other languages too). Just snap the word (in app) and see the translation instantly with further details on a tap. The only criticism I could give is it is slightly over priced. Instead of $5.99 I'd probably make it $3.99. But I don't regret buying it at the $5.99 price at all. Keep up the great work guys.

Great App. Best translation app I have used and in my opinion the best on the market. After installing the app I found it extremely easy to navigate. I tested some of its great features including Instant translation using view and the advanced search results were just great.

Instant Help. Wow this is just like magic, with a steady hand within seconds you can be translating words into your chosen language or from a language you don't know into your preferred language. I am heading off on a world tour and this app is going to be fantastic when i need to translate menus and maps. Great flawless app for point and translate in the real world!. What a great app. This will really help with me learning Swedish and Chinese. At the moment I am learning through reading comic books with my 7 year old, who will also love how easy it is to point at a word we don’t know and get an immediate translation, which to date has worked flawlessly. For anyone trying to learn a language this is a great tool to use instead of copy and paste and typing into a phone whilst reading. I imagine it would also be great for travelling. I have also used it to translate posts on Facebook etc from friends in Finnish, French and Swedish and it works great. Highly recommended! Bushmanbob

Great app. Woow. This is app what i was looking for. I use this app everywhere. It is too easy to use just hold your camera on word which one you wanna translate. And now when I'm in restorant i know what I will order. This app helps me a lot. Worth every dollar which i spent on it. If you need translator buy this one you will not be disappointed. Very clever tool with loads of potential. Amazed that for a few bucks I can hold in my hand such a powerful and portable translation tool. The links to Google are a nice touch. Great App!. I've been learning italian for a while now and this app just makes learning and translating so much easier! It has translated any language I've thrown at it so far. A great app if you like reading in different languages or you don't understand a word in something you're reading. WorldDictionary is super easy to use and i haven't experienced any bugs or crashed in my entire time using it! A MUST HAVE app for language enthusiasts!

The Best Translation Dictionary Yet!!!. This is just perfect!! It translates the message quickly and very accurate!! It is very user friendly and i absolutely love this app!! If you are going overseas then this is the app to get!!! You will not be disappointed it is a perfect easy translator and very quick!! Also you can take a picture of the message you want translated and it translates it which is crazy!! This is the latest technology in translation services!! thanks to the people who made this app its simply GREAT and a MUST HAVE!!!

Heaps of promise. A great translation app with a few cool features. The ability to quickly snap a photo and tap individual words in that pic for instant translation generally works really well, provided the pic is in focus and the text font isn't too fancy. "Live" translation is a bit more cumbersome, as the app can only translate single words at a time, which isn't up to par with something like Word Lens. Unlike Word Lens though, Worldictionary comes packed with a heap of language options - and that's all for the cost price. (Currently Word Lens only has support for English to Spanish and vice versa, and even that will set you back a cool 26 bucks.) With continued support, I can see Worldictionary becoming the goto translation app in the store.

Not useful at all.. Wasted of money

Definitely NOT 5 stars. This apps use online dictionary from google/yahoo, nothing special. Save your hard earn money and don't be lazy to type on google dict or yahoo dictionary. Camera dictionary does save your time (2-4second) and maybe not save your time, because it not always accurate (40% inaccurate) and always end up you have to type. I would say it NOT worth for $4.49 and definitely not recommend.

Good app with lots of potential. This app is great especially at the start of it's life, I can see this being a must have app especially after it has a couple of improvements (such as zoom) added to it. Fast, easy to use and looks great. Once again fellas great job

A International consultants/Vacationeers dream!. If you travel internationally for vacation or business to a country which you may not fully understand the language yet or you want to be positive on what it says then I guarantee that this is the app for you! Okay here’s the thing, I work as an international consultant where I get paid to go from one country to another in a short period of time promoting what my company has to offer to very large industries, I can speak some Japanese, French & German but not very well and when I’m out a good example for me using this app is in China when I went to a restaurant I found it very hard to read the menu considering I’m horrible at Mandarin so I got out my iPhone and scan the menu items and this app translates them in real time so all’s I have to do is put the little cross hair over the word and voila Roast Duck. Another great thing that the app helps with is when I am driving past signs on the highway all I have to do is point the cross hair and bingo take the exit! I find it amazing how technology has changed over the years, who knows what’s in store for the next few. I just wanted to say a quick thanks to the Penpower team, you guys are awesome! -Andrew

Great. Its easy to use and is very quick to translating the whole sentence and it is very useful when I'm travelling to a foreign country. It also a very good app to have it in my iPhone. Cool!!!

Pretty good with some room for improvement. I've tried this app out quite a bit with several languages and overall it's pretty good. Sometimes it has struggled a bit with the OCR (not correctly identifying the original word) but mostly it gets it right and then it works a charm. I was especially impressed it could do an OK job translating Japanese characters. Where I falls down, apart from the occasional OCR glitches, is that it translates a word at a time. This makes long passages difficult, especially where word order and sentence structure differs significantly from my language. If it could translate, say, a whole sentence at a time, it would be absolutely brilliant. As it is though, it's still very useful for my purposes (translating short passages, eBay listings, etc) and I imagine it would be great if you were travelling and had to read signs, brochures and the like. Disclaimer: the developer gave me a free copy of the app and asked me to post a review. But this is my honest opinion of the app

Great app for overseas. I wish I had this app last time I travelled overseas. See something in another language you want translated? Point your iPhone camera and bam it is instantly translated for you. A great app which will ensure you never end up in france in a expensive restaurant eating frogs legs because you didn't understand the menu. Great app much enjoyed. Get it now!

Helpful for deciphering those foreign menus. If you’re travelling overseas, or just out and about and in need of some quick word translation, then Worldictionary can get the job done. A good start compared to some of the more expensive translating apps that also make you purchase additional languages in-app - with worldictionary, you get them included! Good for me!

Fantastic App!!. Worldictionary is a great application that everyone should have installed! On first launch . . . thats it, The app instantly opens and starts translating straight away, its crazy, within one or two seconds the app is recognising the words and translating them into the chosen language, Very impressive! The user interface is nice and friendly, almost anyone no matter what age could pick up this app and start using it instantly. The ability to import a photo is useful for times you are out and about, and the history helps find a recently looked up word quickly. It's also great that the camera zooms automatically and adjusts, saving time and hassles. All translations and languages are accurate, saving potential embarrassing moments, and sounding out words helps get the pronunciation just right. Overall this is a great application for anyone who needs to translate languages and doesn't want to type paragraphs and paragraphs of text, or for anyone who will be going on holidays. 5 Starts, a MUST have!

Brilliant!. I have been waiting so long for an app like this to come out, within my business I have to travel a lot and it is a pain not knowing how to get to some places half the time and going through a translator trying to translate what a sign says so I would be standing there for quite a while trying to read one sign, with this app, it’s amazing you can take a photo of a sign if you don’t know what it says and it will translate it for you into English instantly, I love using this app to translate overseas it really does help me out. Not to mention this app works as a translator as well it can translate full sentences and even has a dictionary function to specify what some words mean if you are unsure. So in my onion this is definitely the best translation app I have ever come across and my favourite function would be the touch and translate feature with you tap an image and it translates it instantly I tell you what PenPower Tech I honestly cannot wait until your next release! Your apps so far are amazing! Thanks keep up the great work!

Great concept. Translating from Japanese to English is quite accurate character by character. Room for improvement but a really solid app and the developer is very good with answering feedback.

Another Great App. I downloaded this app and kept an open mind with it. Well it blew my mind. It's works great and a lot better than I thought it would. Worth every cent. These guys do a get job making apps. Keep up the wonderful work.

Easy to use!. Found the App quite instinctive to use. Help guide very concise & made use even easier. Light levels could be a problem at times as could my hand shaking Used the App with both Spanish & French text. In conclusion a very handy App for the traveller

Wish I had this in Japan. It was frustrating not being able to read the menus and signs. I have been testing this app. It's brilliant works very fast.

Review. I found it only worked sometimes and not for all words. It's a bit of a tedious process aswell, not good for someone who needs a quick result. Overall great idea for an app though.

Reliable real-world translator. The character recognition algorithm is very accurate, which adds a lot value to this already great app. The languages supported are another plus, the range is respectable. The overall UI/UX is very well design and implemented, adding a true mobile experience to a real-world translator. Search history and the choice between camera/camera-roll are very useful indeed. Also excellent for parents with a child learning a second language in school. So virtually a good tool for anyone. The app sells for $5.99 and uses the camera feature of your iPhone. It provides instant translation for travelers - a feature that would come in extremely handy for instance if needing a quick translation of a roadside sign in Mexico. Worldictionary is by PenPower Technology and it works well with IPhone 3GS and it also runs nicely on the IPhone 4 and Ipad 2. Point the camera at the word and translate. A network-connection is required. There are 21 languages covered . The app needs iOS 4.2 or later to run smoothly for character recognition. This app is worth it. I used several of my kid's French texts to see how the translations compared and was amazed at how fun and simple this app is to use. It provides translation of two adjacent words as well. The only app I’ve found for Japanese!. This is a home-screen app for me. When I spot a character in Japanese that I can’t recognize this handy app will read it most of the time, depending on how small the font is or sometimes how rare the character is. It can even parse out character combinations quite often. These kinds of text-scanner/translators don’t always work perfectly in the field but I am quite satisfied with Worldictionary.

Beware of Offline Translation & Support. You can read about all the supported languages in the description and also that off-line dictionaries are available through an in-app purchase. After purchasing the app, I was disappointed to learn that the only off-line translations available were Japanese, Chinese and Korean. I contacted support, but there was no reply. Also note that some of the off-line dictionaries have only about 15,000 words meaning that they will translate very few words, if any, in an average sentence.

Outstanding App!. I bought this app before a recent trip, it's stellar. A great app, I cannot recall the number of times it came handy. And the multiple language features are great.

Solid Translator. I use it out to translate my French to English and it works great. The app is simple to use and you get instant translations. A good and useful app.

It does what it says. The app does what it says. I am studying arts in uni and this app has become a handy tool helping me with translations in my course. Bought it after loads of research and got to say, I think I made the right choice.

It works flawless. Downloaded Worldictionary as I needed a app that could translate French to English. Tried it and it works flawless. Good job by the developers. Only thing that I find to be a down side is that it needs a network connection, but other than that really innovative app.

Good idea, but recognizition isn't always 100% accurate. Need a translating application for your smartphone or tablet? Then you should try Worldictionary developed by Penpower Incorporated. But you may say, why not use the Google Translate? While the Google Translate app is good, this app will allow you to hold up your smartphone or tablet camera up in front of the document for instant word translation. It's a good expansion to the Google Translate app. Although this app is cool, it is not always 100% accurate. A good example is mixing up the lowercase letter “l” with the letter “t.” Sometimes, it doesn’t even recognize the sentence at all and gives me random words and letters. So you have to make sure your text is correct at first before translating. Also, the translations sometimes don’t make sense all the time, but that can be the fault of the translating service, not the application itself.

Works great!. You can look up the definition of a word through this app, just by aiming your device's camera at the word. You can also translate to and from several languages! Perfect for learning French or Spanish! The app will also pronounce the word for you. Pretty neat app, I definitely recommend it!

Neat app. I was browsing through the app store for an translation app & checked on Worldictionary. The thing that made me buy the app was that it said it gives instant translations. I did not believe it at first, but this works. Neat app.

Fantastic. This is a fantastic app. I'm very satisfied as I needed an English/Chinese Dictionary that didn't require a data Connection. The Bing translate info is neat. The recognition has improved since the last update. Great job.

Not good for Japanese text. Second time Im giving this app a review ...the Japanese translation is getting better...but still needs work . But all and all this is still the best ocr app on the market , and I hope they cont the hard work on improving the app.

Wth???!!?. I tried it and you would have no idea what the word actually is because it just keeps coming up with random letters. I WANT MY MONEY BACK!

What...no Latin?. Great app! Really like the sentence/phrase capability. Do research on historical mathematics and physics papers mostly written is German, Russian, AND Latin. Any chance of adding? Highly useful and recommended.

Wish I had Google Goggles again.... I expected this app would work just as well as Google Goggles, but I was wrong. It won't translate anything properly, especially the Japanese text on an antique that I bought the app specifically for. A huge waste of $4; I don't know who's giving this five stars...

Horrible with Hiragana / Katakana / Kanji. This is really useless in Japan, I cannot translate anything in Japanese and even if it finds ONE character then it translates it completely wrong... wish I could get a refund

Hard time with translator. My iPhone 3GS had a hard time focusing on the words to translate. I'm not sure if it was the Swedish language or not, though.

No more typing. I love that this app can translate text from pictures. It's not perfect but it's decent and you can google it if need be.

 DOESN'T DETECT LANGUAGE AUTOMATICALLY. sometimes you can't tell what language you are trying to translate, the app doesn't automatically detect the language

Needs offline support. I travel a lot where I can't get a data connection. I would like to see offline dictionaries integrated (even if over time). Since this program can do OCR, if it could merely provide pronunciation help, and remember what words I scanned for later lookup, that could be an intermediate development step.
