Frustrating no one to ever talk to. No human voice customer service.. This is so annoying. You try to reach out at the time you need help but it has to be EMAIL of course you don’t get a response for hours. By that time you are off to work so you do nothing but email tag just to have a few questions answered. It takes days. FAQ area doesn’t help for anything. It just explains the things they want to talk about. So finally having a moment again to get on email that I’m waiting for and I see it was answered they ask for screenshots now (even though it is explain perfectly)stating they need to see what I am explaining which I believe it’s because the person that opened my email didn’t know how to fix it so it’s his way of passing it on for someone else to answer it. I send off screenshots attached to the reply and it’s been all day and now after midnight and nothing. Customer service is a failure if you can’t just speak to a person especially taking their money

You must WATCH ads in order to LISTEN a radio station. I noticed this for the last 2 or 3 weeks. After you select the radio station, you MUST watch a 30 sec or 1 minute-long ad. If you go back to the Home Screen, the ad stops playing. This means the user must watch the entire ad before the station plays. Isn’t ironic that you must watch an add in order to listen to the radio? In the past, the TuneIn ads played every hour, and that’s ok. I understand I am a free user. However, with the latest releases, you get interrupted with TuneIn ads every 15 or 20 minutes. As you can imagine, it’s is very annoying to be listening your favorite station, immersed in an interview or a song, and suddenly getting interrupted by this ad. This has happened in more than 5 stations, so I do not think an issue with the station but with the TuneIn app itself.

SO BAD! DON'T BE FOOLED BY ED. CHOICE!. I am a regular person fed-up with being ripped-off: TuneIn 2023 is a complete joke and goes to show what nonsense these "Editor's Choice" labels are! TuneIn is insanely repetitive: if you listen to the FREE version, then it's the same 5 commercials all-day everyday until you have turned it off, turn the volume down during the commercials and/or go insane! But BUYER BEWARE: DO NOT PAY a subscription because instead of commercials, TuneIn will just play the same 5 clips all-day everyday with the same effect except now you are paying $10.- a month for the "privilege" of going insane listening to the same thing(s). Further, TuneIn has NOT UPGRADED ANYTHING ON THEIR STATIONS FOR YEARS! Doubt it? Go to MSNBC, for example, and read their titles to shows: "the Indictment of Donald Trump"--still😅, "the Rachel Maddow Show" every night even though she is only on Mondays now... So WHAT ARE YOU PAYING FOR EXACTLY? A bunch of techies not doing anything at their job and going on vacays while stealing $120.- annually from you for radio! Nope. I recently found RADIO. NET and it works fine as an actual free radio with lots of choices and regular commercials.

Good but MLB games are little behind. I’ve used TuneIN for a while now for listening to DV Radio, 710 ESPN, and KIRO 97.3 for the Seattle Mariners games. However, I recently moved away and didn’t realize the radio stations were blacked-out during games if you were out of state. So, I just signed up for premium last week so I could listen to the Mariners games. Unfortunately the live broadcast is about 2 to 3 plays behind the other sports apps. I would get notifications on my phone about scoring plays or home runs at least 2 plays early. Easy fix though, I just turned off the notifications on the other apps. I’m not going to complain too much because the premium subscription served its purpose... I got to listen to the games. I will most likely subscribe again next season.

BUGz n MORE bugs…. Never had an app do this but I can’t call it coincidence… literally downloaded the app and worked ok first day, next day I had problems ALL DAY. My phone would just freeze up and all cell service was blocked. My phone was literally useless so I kept turning it off then on trying to reset it and nothing would fix it. I was so mad I couldn’t figure out for the life of me what could be wrong. One second later I would get service for a few then POOFFFF , gone again.. So I had to go back and remember what I had done differently recently on the phone and it HIT ME.. I was out of options and had tried EVERYTHING, so I thought of this app as the culprit… DELETED IT AND SURE ENOUGH, PHONE ISSUES FIXED LIKE NOTHING EVER HAPPENED… Like I said, I didn’t believe it myself BUT in the end, everything points to this app. I’d stay away, it just all felt sketchy like someone was hacked into my phone… Call it coincidence or not.. up to you…

I Love Beach Music!. I do enjoy this app, it’s versatile and offers lots of different options for listening from radio stations to podcasts etc. However, it’s expensive for the premium version as compared to other similar apps and the free version, while I understand must be paid for via commercials, but the repetitive opening ads every time you change to a different platform or station is ridiculous. I like to listen to live radio stations, so I have to listen to radio ads even if I paid for the premium version, so having the additional ads running at the beginning of every new station I tune in to becomes annoying and should be changed to ads running on time instead of every change of listening choice.

Dishonest company. Buyer beware!. Last year TuneIn reduced their price and touted their huge audiobook selection which got me to join. Then they dropped the feature within weeks. A reputable company would have either stated that audiobooks would be going away, or offered a refund for cost of the service given such a key feature was removed. I thought, lesson learned and set up my calendar to remind me to cancel a month before my subscription ended. When I logged in last month to cancel, there was no way to cancel online. I had to contact TuneIn via their email. I contacted them and they told me to cancel online. I replied I was not able to do so, that their site informed me to contact tech support. Then they said they cancelled my service and “Rest assured your subscription will not auto renew on your next billing date”. I’m sure you see this coming, yep they charged me! So now I have to waste more time trying to get my money back from these thieves. Stay away. You have been warned.

Too Many Ads. First off, I’m not against ads. I understand the need for the developers to make money. But there’s certain behaviors that I find unnecessarily punitive: If I get a phone call which I immediately silence, because the stream was paused, I have to listen to an ad. There should be some small 5-10second window where briefly interrupting the app will not lead to another ad. Most of what I listen to is radio shows. They have a specific format that they follow where 2 minutes before the hour to approximately 7 minutes after are commercial breaks. Each segment of the hour is a defined time. I have sometimes found that the app is replacing what would be commercials from the original program (based in Arizona) with ads from my local (Michigan) government or businesses. Great, fine, replace one set of ads with a different set. The problem is that I’ll sometimes realize that I’ve been listening to ads for quite some time, and I check and it’s 16 past the hour. The app has been feeding me ads for the last 10 plus minutes, so I’ve missed most of the opening segment of what I was trying to listen to. Unless I manually switch it to a different stream and switch back, I think it would continue the ads indefinitely. It definitely gets stuck in a loop. If it’s possible for the ads to simply delay the original stream, that would be better than replacing the actual content.

Gone downhill in the past year!. I loved this app when I first downloaded it. I’d listen to MSNBC and a couple of radio stations outside my area, while driving or at the office. It’s been my go to app until recently-the constant pausing, skipping and repeating segments is truly frustrating. It NEVER pauses during commercials, always during a broadcast. The Blues/R&B station I listen to is commercial free, but TuneIn throws them in and more times than not it’s in the middle of a song. Once these glitches start, any broadcast rarely plays for more than a minute before it automatically pauses, repeats or skips. It’s insanely frustrating! The only thing that is consistent are the replies from the developers stating they’re sorry and promise to fix the problem with the next update. The past 5 updates have yet to rectify any of these problems! I cannot give it a better rating until they get their act together and fix their mess.

The repeat when playing live shows.... I assume Tunein is made to do this on purpose but it’s far too sensitive....have used tunein for a few years but don’t remember being this bad- when I am listening to a news show live, like CNN, it will replay the same part not twice, but 3-5 times, I assume this is when the app detects a slower connection. I have tried numerous times to mess with settings and can’t get it to stop - it makes listening to anything live virtually impossible unless you want to be driven crazy. This happens over my Sonos which plays everything else perfectly in my home over WiFi (via fiber optic) so not sure why tunein is different. It is also happening more on my phone app. I love tunein for convenience but this repeating is so bad that it makes it not worth fooling with. Shouldn’t be this hard for a normal consumer - I shouldn’t have to adjust a bunch of settings when in a relatively normal and speedy WiFi environment (nor when when I’m on a cellular connection). Trying to listen to impeachment live! I have to install something else today.

Love the concept, but.... In theory, I should love TuneIn. Pay for the premium package...get all of my favorite sports teams on audio (minus Liverpool who I at least get to see on TV a fair bit). Reality doesn’t always match with theory, however, thusly the two-star rating. Why? Often, the streams are spotty, which is to say that sometimes they don’t come in at all, break-up into a spotty mess, or like I’ve been experiencing lately with the Red Sox games, completely not connecting at all. In order to listen, I’ve had to delete the app, reload it, log back in and then re-try the audio for the game. Sometimes it works...other times it stops the feed and I have to repeat the whole process to get it to work again, and hope the same failing doesn’t re-emerge. I’m giving it another week of baseball season. If a new update doesn’t fix it, I’ll head back to paying for sports audio on parents apps. At least there I’ll get a largely uninterrupted stream.

Used to be the best, now only the ads work. This was by far the best streaming app. Then they added ads…. I quit using iHeart after the streaming service made it impossible to listen to. I understand that they needed more revenue so they added ads. Once they added ads, the app froze every 10 minutes. That has been fixed, kudos. Now, I want to listen to a podcast that has 8 minute segments…. There is an ad between every segment. Ok, it is a lot but I can live with it. However, the player stops after every ad and doesn’t advance to the next podcast without…. opening the player and yes, having to listen to yet another ad…. In addition, if you leave and come back, it plays an ad (after you have already listened to the ad) and then proceeds to forget your progress so you need to remember where you were in the podcast. Plus, the app crashes more frequently now and that, of course, leads you to have to listen to another ad, and lose your place in the podcast again. Rince, repeat. There are infrequent updates that fix some of the usability but unless they fix these things soon, I will be finding another app.

Love it, but one problem.... I love that I can listen to Brewer games wherever I’m at big fan. The only problem I have with this app is even if I have two out of my four bars of signal it buffers for ever I have to shut down the app and restart it, which wouldn’t be a problem if I could go right back in to an old game that I’m listening to and he would pick up where it left off instead of starting all over. This is also a problem because it takes so long for the games load since they are hours long so if it shuts down when I’m two hours into a game and I can only scan 30 seconds ahead this obviously takes way too long and then I end up getting so fed up because I’m trying to work while I’m listening to this day I cannot listen to the game anymore so I have to switch my app.

Definitely not the Tunein Radio we were all used to! What happened???. Ever since they fully redesigned the TuneIn app, it has been nothing but a disaster. Not gonna lie, I do like the new music player, it’s modern and colorful, but the amount of constant ads are ridiculous. Even the Tunein Pro app that costs $10, the ads now constantly pop up every few seconds, which never used to be like this. Now you have to pay for a monthly subscription in order to get rid of the ads after paying $10 for the pro app?!?!🤦‍♂️And the $10 Pro app isn’t even pro anymore due to the fact that they took away the popular radio recording feature which everyone loved, and the app is so buggy and ads just don’t stop! Tunein Radio is also almost like a ghost town because a lot of the quality radio stations have either been transferred to iHeart Radio, or they no longer exist on the radio(92.3 Amp Radio, 95.5 WPLJ, etc). There’s only a few stations left on Tunein that I like (Hot 97, K104.7 and some AM stations) but why would I want to listen to these stations on Tunein where I can listen to them on the Apple Music app or iHeart Radio? Seems like Tunein Radio is slowly dying out, and with the rate their going, their going off of a cliff!

Annoying dialogues first thing in the morning. The app is fine. It does what it’s supposed to and there isn’t much competition anyway. The Home Screen is becoming more unusable, especially on the Auto interface, more oriented to selling TuneIn products than to allowing users access to the service. The reason for this low review is the frequent pop-up dialogues that prevent access to the app, always on first use in the morning. That is the worst time to make users spend extra time getting to the function. The “are you enjoying TuneIn” dialog must be answered “Yes” or else the user must wait for the App Store to open, presumably to write a review. Today I opened the app and had to navigate through a supposed “gift” TuneIn wanted to give me. If I declined to enter my information and look through the gift options just at that minute, the “gift” disappeared, but I didn’t have a choice whether to go through the pop-ups before using the app.

Horrible. I only use this because it’s the only app I can stream certain station through. Their ads are awful, cut off the middle of live broadcasts and sometimes get stuck repeating in a loop. At best, they sync their ads with the live broadcast schedule, at worst they randomly play, cutting off the middle of a show. They also play ads in the middle of podcasts and god forbid you press the pause buttons for you will surely hear another ad before play resumes. A month or so ago the repeatedly played a Carl’s junior ad where you could hear the producer speaking before the spot and the sound mix was hilarious. You can hear the “boop” where the ad begins on multiple ads as well. So amateur. I paid a one time $9.99 for this app years ago but now they expect you to subscribe for some reason. Maybe the awful ads are their incentive? The mail channels are basic as well. There are so many better apps but, like I said, this one has some stations that none of the others do. They also didn’t ban certain broadcasters like all the other ‘woke’ apps have but I almost hesitate in saying that for fear they one day will. Reply to dev: You guys say you strive to make this a better app but, seriously, how hard can it be to not spam ads just for hitting the pause button or switching an audio output source?

Audiobooks gone!! 😞. Many users might not be big Audiobook listeners but I am, and considering the high monthly prices for every other audiobook app out there (like Audible or Audiobooks), TuneIn was the best option! I remember when I started using this app, there were a few users and it clearly needed some app work, but I was positively surprised to find the vast collection of audiobooks in the app (with the premium subscription). TuneIn didn’t require you to pay for every new audiobook you listen to but had free amount of audiobooks for the monthly subscription price, apart from all the other radio, news stations and podcasts available. Since I only listen to Audiobooks and Podcasts, there is really no reason for me to keep paying for this app. This is a hue disappointment! I think that if TuneIn would have advertised their audiobook potential they would’ve received a vast amount of new users and a lot would have preferred it over the established Audible/Audiobooks app. If you decide to bring the audiobook section back let me know! I’ll be happy to pay for the subscription!

I want my money back. I commented a year ago in agreement with others from several years before that about the “Here’s something you might have missed” audio repeats multiple times per hour (that is, if you listen to a one hour show, you can’t possibly miss it the second, third, fourth time. That is far more annoying than hearing commercials! The author asked for my email address to discuss (as if they were being responsive to a paying customer) and proceeded to take the conversation outside the Apple store. They then ask me what programs I was listening to and came back with a dismissive, “that’s how it normally works” non-response. I know that’s how it works, but it should be fixed, not excused! Paying over $100 / year should justify updating the app to address these repeated subscriber complaints, not keep adding more channels I don’t care about to allow them keep signing up new users. I signed up on their site using PayPal, not through Apple, so I couldn’t unsubscribe via iOS or PayPal directly. After having to hear an accused murderer testify about his bloody wife and son he was on trial for shooting over and over in one hour, I had enough (again), but still hadn’t been able to identify how to cancel the annual auto-pay renewal before it just went through PayPal and now it can’t be cancelled for another year. I will be contacting the authors to ask for a refund if they still won’t fix the repeat content bug (it’s certainly NOT a feature worth paying for.)

Amount of ads is ridiculous!!! Make it stop!!!. Every time you switch stations you have to listen to multiple ads. Even if you listen to a station for 3 seconds you still have to endure the commercials when switching stations. I hate the “Switch Classics” tile that appears next to the tile of my current station because I’ve accidentally hit it and have to listen to more commercials. Ads play in the middle of episodes (causing you to miss that length of the program) and tonight there were literally 16 commercials in a row! There were 3-4 commercials in the loops and it was starting again when I shut down the app to make the ads stop—and had to listen to 2 more when I restarted the app. The ads are also excessively loud. I had considered paying for the app pre-Covid but there were some glitches and features that changed—now it’s a matter of principle—I don’t want to be manipulated into paying because of the annoying advertising tactics being used. I can access most things directly from websites but the ability of the app to curate multiple stations in one place was a convenience. The ads negate this. So disappointing and frustrating.

Impossible to listen to!. I primarily use TuneIn to listen to MSNBC “commercial free live”. It used to work flawlessly. In the last six months or so, it has become increasingly impossible to listen to. The broadcast stutters, then stops, then jumps forward, then repeats parts you have heard before, then stops altogether. Rinse, repeat all the above. In the place of commercials, the app used to play short pieces of items “from earlier today that you might not have heard”. I have heard the exact same past news snippets now for months—they are definitely not all “from today”. And often it is not past news I hear, but parts of commercials. (I am paying for commercial free.) The only time this spring that the stuttering, stopping and repeating did not happen was when content was interrupted instead with the announcement that “this station is experiencing technical difficulties”. Ironic that said difficulties were absent during this time—but they are back now that the “This station is experiencing...” interruptions have stopped. I have an image in my head of a group of chimps at the controls, randomly pushing all the buttons in front of them, while eating popcorn and spilling soda all over the control board. This is a maddening listening experience, and I have paid good money for nothing! Buyer beware!!!!

Corporate greed specialist hired by tune in for app revamp. I’ve used tune in for many years now and was psyched to see the new updated app. Upon download it only offered me two options, both of which come with a $99 subscription. I instantly deleted app. Honestly I was afraid of hitting the wrong button it was so confusing (and I’m sure it was designed that way). As I went through the reviews for the update, there was one frequent response to a lot of the complaints, “TuneIn is free for all users”. When trying out the app I looked to avoid the subscription sign-up and tryed to use it for free, there was no way to do it, it kept sending you back to the subscription page every time you hit “play” on a station. It seems as though tunein has hired a corporate greed specialist to eek out any subscription fees they could, plaguing previous and new users alike with a $99 fee. Ouch.

I am sick of ads. I understand that everybody has to get paid as far as getting revenue and support for this app. I was comfortable with just having a plain old ads on the screen so I am aware that you guys are supported. But now, the ads that it is putting, is an actual audio ads that interrupt my listening to my station. I mainly listen to ESPN radio, they already have Advertisement playing within the station. But when this app, tune in, put in their ads on top of ESPN radio feed, it makes this experience not enjoyable. once again, I was cool with the ads that is just showing on the screen, as long that you don’t put audio ads that interrupt the actual program that I’m trying to listen to. I can imagine if I was listening to a regular music station and in the middle of the music, this app has an audio Ad that takes away the good experience of listening to a radio. The only reason why I left it as a two ⭐️⭐️star instead of a one ⭐️, because I was a longtime listener to the app.

Declining quality. I used to love this app! Over the past few months, I’ve noticed it’ll skip backwards and repeat the last several seconds. The other day, it was skipping like a broken record, looping the same 7-10 seconds of a song. That’s not even the worst part. The most frustrating thing now is how all of a sudden, the stream just stops, and 5 flipping ads play! And it’s ALWAYS in the middle of a good song, or in the middle of a good segment on my favorite morning show. So then I completely miss the rest of the song or segment!!! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 I get that I’m using the free app, but come on people! I’m strongly considering deleting the app and either find another one or go old school and purchase a boombox/stereo to use instead while I’m getting ready for work in the mornings. ETA: I received your developer response and your answer to the issue of ads interrupting a song or morning show segment is NOT acceptable. I completely understand that ads help keep it free, HOWEVER, you can do better than playing them in the middle of the content I’m listening to. Maybe try during the radio station’s commercial break? The current issue doesn’t have a problem missing the commercial breaks, that’s for sure. 🙄

have to have multiple subscriptions. it’s not the best when you have to have multiple premium subscriptions on other devices. I have it through Apple on my phone but if I want to go to Roku, I have to subscribe to a new account and having two accounts is not worth it. If you want tune in radio, you can only subscribe on one device, you can’t transfer do you have to start over again or have two separate accounts. I’ve tried logging in with the account I have through Apple, same password and email and it doesn’t recognize it on a separate system like Roku. Yeah have to subscribe for a second account. There is no way to retrieve a password or renew a passport.

Great app turned useless. I used to love this app. Made it easy to listen to podcasts and radio stations across the globe. It had visual ads and some sound advertisements. In the last 6-9 months they started pushing ads hard. Sometimes the ads interrupt the live broadcast. All stations now start with an ad and god forbid you hit pause and try to come back because you will need to listen to an ad again. It has just become spam at this point. The worst part is it no longer keeps track of where I left off on my podcasts. If I start up the episode it’s spins and plays an ad and in the process loses my progress for the episode. I have to take a screenshot or write down where I left off. As painful as this was, it was some how tolerable but recently the app has started crashing while listening. When I start the episode again I have to listen to an ad and hope I remember where I left off. During the last episode this happened 8 times. This app has become useless. I am looking for alternatives now. It is sad to see how this functional app has been destroyed.

This is an edit of my previous review—5 stars. Somehow tune in has cured the app of the bleed through ads and the redundant “you may have missed” problem. Thanks for making the changes and fixing this really useful app! —what I wrote previously for your information and comparing: I could’ve written the summer 2020 review! Exact issues regarding trying to enjoy msnbc commercial free by subscribing via premium. I had many back and forths with friendly help clerks. Never solved the problem. Commercials bled through, five minutes of inanity between segments of news, long, repetitive “something you may not have heard from earlier today”, left us frustrated and finally we are giving up on this app. Wish there was a logical explanation for why they couldn’t deliver what I bought—commercial free. Let me know if you worked it out for real.

Great app; but been glitching a lot last 1.5 months. Been listening to cnn, npr, msnbc, and college football and more for over 2 yrs or so. Ended my SiriusXM subscription I had since 2006 because of TuneIn. It’s been my go to app for streaming all. Was very happy with it... LATELY, HOWEVER it’s been very glitchy. Since I listen up to 8 hours a day... I no longer find the most updated podcast- MarketPlace for example stopped updating since late Sept. or I can’t always find past shows-it only shows other radio companies that are currently playing the show. What happened? This happens to other podcast too. The UI is still a little confusing- I still can’t place my favorite channels in the order I want -top to bottom. I rearrange them in edit mode, save it and it just reverts to what was all along. For now- 3/5 stars. Make this easy to use.

Easier than station sites & apps. Cons: One down side: even a brief interruption of the stream, caused by cell coverage, taking a call, etc., requires listening to the ads to restart stream — you can miss vast parts of important live streams when reception is bad or texts come in Tx watching the same ads minutes or seconds after just hearing them - Pros: Often works better than a radio station’s own app or web site player —began to use this app when it was difficult to get my desktop to start the listen live feature of a local news talk station. Likewise my iPhone l. It's got a bit of a delay, but that's cool if you are vain, and you want to actually hear what you said on a call-in show – and you get a bit of Grace to not miss the part of a show while you go into service station or something and come back - plays for some minutes from the point you left the stream —but aside from that, I like having a profile with my favorite Christian, & news stations – & being able to pick a syndicated show, and listen even if it's from across the nation, is cool. Occasionally some glitch causes 5 to 30 seconds of a show to repeat, but I don't believe anything is ever dropped in those cases …

I agree.... ...with the previous reviewer. If the developers think they fixed these problems they’re wrong. Furthermore, I find myself sitting here on MSNBC listening to the very advertising that I PAID to avoid. Cars, shoes, products of all kinds. All this interspersed with “news [I] may have missed from earlier today,” which I haven’t missed, of course, because TuneIn plays the same clips over and over. PLUS, I still haven’t figured out how to communicate my concerns (OK, let’s just call them what they really are...”complaints”) directly to customer “service”. Finding CS at TuneIn is harder than navigating a Halloween corn maze. I shouldn’t have to leave an angry review in order to get your attention. What I HAVE finally figured out is how to cancel my subscription. Do you really want to make cancellation easier than complaint resolution? I’ve never been closer to canceling a subscription to anything as I am right now with TuneIn.

Inconsistent At Best. I've exhausted my options with this app. When it works, it works great. But every so often, it has a mind of its own where no matter how long I wait for a station to load, it simply doesn't start. It simply spins in place. Yes, I have strong WiFi. Yes I've tried on LTE. Yes I've tried on 5G. It's not a connectivity issue. I have an iPhone 12. The only way around it is to close the app and restart it, but even that's not a guarantee. I have to try on average 3-5x before the station will load. It also seems to does it out of nowhere in the middle of when the station is working. I was listening to a particularly important news story (again, with full strength internet connectivity) and the station simply dropped. I closed the app and reopened it and of course I had to listen to the 60 seconds of ads that are no longer relevant (today I heard ads about the "upcoming impeachment vote" which has already happened...but I digress) and the station still didn't load. Again, when it works, it goes on a long streak of being perfect, but when it decides to go on strike, a miracle is necessary for it to work again. That's usually when I forget about it for a few weeks and then come back.

Good app. I wrote a really bad review before (read it below), and to be fair, I’m back to update. They seem to improve this App. - The random Ads are gone, so no more paid ads during radio programs. - 30 seconds reward/forward function is back The loosing of the track once you receive a phone call, or a video/audio starts playing on another app, still an issue. So if you’d like to reward 30 seconds of missed radio stream, you’re with no luck! Well, hopefully they’ll hire back whoever developer was able to add that feature back in the days! DO NO PAY FOR THIS!!!! Use the free version and save some frustration at least. I’ve been using TuneIn for at least 4 years.... and every “upgrade” this app is getting worse! I listen to a Brazilian radio station, and when they are talking the app thinks its a commercial so a Lowe’s, Home Depot and another ad from TuneIn kicks in and I miss the interview or whatever is happening! And it’s always 2 or 3 ads only.... I don’t remember because all I do it’s curse on the 5th generation of the developers :/ The latest version they got rid of the 30seconds rewind/forward! C’mon developers..... really?!?!?! And the feature I miss the most is that if another audio/video comes up, like a phone call/FaceTime you lose the streaming, having to go back to the app and press play. Back in the days, this wasn’t necessary. Over all, it works, but on the pace this is going, in a near future, you’ll only be able to listen to their paid Ads :/

I love TuneIn. I use the app more than any other app, it is a bargain at $7.99. I’m a real Radiohead, I listen everyday, that’s right seven days a week. I felt I should pay TuneIn something for the great service they provide. I love it, I can listen to virtually any radio station here and even Europe, it’s terrific! Keep up the great work you’re doing, I love you TuneIn! Thank you so much. In a few words the music I’ve chosen has often been disappointing. I don’t like the choice’s I’ve made curating the music I buy and listen to. I would much rather let my favorite NPR on air host curate the music. I feel and believe their choices are often excellent and much more entertaining. I’ve tried Vinyl, CDs and even streaming services like Amazon-MusicUnlimited, AppleMusic and found that I prefer streaming my favorite NPR Jazz radio station’s on TuneIn. I would rather pay for services that I use everyday (TuneIn & NPR) then for services that I had force myself to listen to, thank you so much again TuneIn & NPR!!!

Great app with one mentally disturbing problem. I listen to tune in for MSNBC live. That is all I listen to. I know the ads are skippable. But you have to stop playing the same ads over and over and over and over and over again. Especially three the AARP ad. Comcast business ad and some ad about cancer that I’m sure makes sense on TV but is just sad and kind of pointless since there is like 10 seconds of silence before the end slogan. But seriously they have been playing the same Comcast ad for 3 years! I will never use Comcast under any circumstances because of this. And also can they at least rotate hearing the same ad then go back to MSNBC they say we will be right back then u play the same ad again. It’s so frustrating I just mute it and end up missing parts of the show. Also they updated the app so when u pause and un pause they play the same Comcast commercial agggggghhhhhh!

Cumbersome. I’ve been using Tunein for several years. I use it to listen to favorite radio stations from places I used to live. Tunein used to be much simpler and smoother to operate. I have an older iPhone 6, so maybe it’s the phone, but this is my first iPhone, so my comments are based on my experience with Tunein running on the same device. One problem is Tunein stops now when I access a web site. Once the site loads, if I go back to Tunein and hit play, it resumes, but it seems like that should be automatic. Tunein in used to resume on its own when it hit a glitch. If it can play, why do I have to ask it to? This problem may be the station (HFS), but the Tunein screen used to show the name of the song the station was playing, but it no longer does. Tunein just seems more sluggish and awkward than it used to, and over time, it ought to get smoother and more efficient.

Unlistenable. I’ve been listening to Fox News via Tune In since mid-March. While the content is as expected, the ads for both sponsors and Tune In programming makes the experience awful. The most recent example is a Cox Communications (which is misogynistic, though that’s not Tune In’s fault) ad which plays at least three times per break, sometimes even consecutively. This has been the norm since I began using the app. Ads will repeat and replay frequently, which is especially frustrating given the content of ads like the aforementioned Cox ad. I guarantee that I will not listen to Tune In content because of this and am no longer interested in subscribing for the ad-free version. I suspect Tune In either does this intentionally to push people to sub or that they have a programming issue. I spent years working in terrestrial radio and guarantee a programming flaw like this would kill a station if left unresolved very quickly.

Indispensable for this traveler. Update: I’m finding it does weird stuff like suddenly repeat the last several seconds or jump forward, especially bad if I have to pause a live stream, but even when I’m current. This has cause me to miss key moments I couldn’t retrieve. I demoted this by a star, hoping the developers pay attention to this annoyance. I’ll keep it at 4 stars for now, but if it gets worse I’ll be back for a further demotion. If it gets better, I’ll be back to elevate it. Original: I use this app several times a week and always on long (5+ hour) trips. Except when I have cell access trouble, I've never had a problem with this. It may even have saved my life a couple of time when I got sleepy and couldn't pull off the road. Podcasts to the rescue! The only (minor) issue I have is that it can take an annoyingly long time to buffer. This doesn't happen often and it may be more a function of wifi or Internet access. Though it happens on my strong home wifi. Can't complain, though. I use this to access radio a send other broadcasts from all over the world. I especially like to get onto live NPR when I'm traveling or missed my local show. Bottom line: Can't go wrong with a free app like this!

Dangerous CarPlay Bug. I was an early adopter of this app. I purchased it when it was sold for a flat fee. Now, I have to click away a subscription pop-up when the app opens - even though I’m entitled to stream certain content at no cost. When I’m in the car, the TuneIn app in CarPlay won’t allow me to proceed until I unlock my phone, open the app, and click away the pop-up. It seems like this accident waiting to happen. Drivers are already distracted. They don’t need to be challenged to go through this process on a busy road - it could easily change the direction of someone’s life or even end it. Please be more responsible, TuneIn. I get the desire to pitch the subscription service, but you can do it with audio at the beginning of the stream. I’m going to ask Apple to remove the app from CarPlay if this isn’t corrected.

Excellent Source for Real FACTS, Great for Medical Info. WUNC is wonderful at reporting general mews reports AND medical information. By choosing carefully, one can benefit from SOME of their podcasts, like People’s Pharmacy. UNFORTUNATELY, they feel called upon to slant SOME ISSUES to their liking. Ex: Politics: Be careful here! They push a liberal/socialist agenda and CHOOSE to report almost solely in support of this “worldview.” Ex: Climate Change: No matter what happens with weather, their fertile imaginations report it as due to climate change. Ex: Politics: They report ONLY about pre-born children as blobs of tissue to be murdered at the mother’s CONVENIENCE. They ate EXTREME in this ignorant view. After decades of listening, this is just one example of REPORTING their opinion as “news.” Ex: “GUESTS/fellow REPORTERS: Almost ALWAYS, they ONLY interview those who hold THEIR opinion. PROOF: The podcasts. PROOF: LOTS of apostate church (main line, Rev. B, pro-abortion Catholics, etc. leaders glorified, interviewed. But given the high % of Christians/Messianic Jews in the area, WHEN do they EVER include REAL (Bible believers, Southern Baptist LEADERS, those preachers on WRAL, Messianic Rabbi, etc. FOR THE VERY EDUCATED, they have really good reporting WHEN they stick to the facts. So, IF YOU KNOW HOW to DISREGARD the junk, they are an excellent source of information.

Outstanding streaming alternative to satellite radio. I recently purchased a Tesla which does not have the satellite radio hardware. Yes I can use the streaming app on the phone for my satellite radio subscription and Bluetooth to the car audio. But TuneIn is integrated right into the Tesla interface which makes it very easy and safe to use while driving. It uses the car’s cellular connection to stream, or I can connect it to my phone’s hotspot to eliminate another data account. I was pleasantly surprised to see that my favorite news channels are available (CNN, CNBC) and all of my favorite podcasts. There are also plenty of curated music stations to choose from. It has everything needed for car entertainment!

TuneInradio the answer I needed. I’ve been a Tribe fan (no matter what you call them) and a Browns fan for my entire life and that’s a long time ago lots of decades and recently with changes to airing of games and what stations are carrying games it was always a hassle. I was always trying to find someway that I could have right station ahead of the games I wanted to listen to but nothing worked! Then I came across TuneIn radio and it’s right there. It’s perfect. It’s on the spot when I want to listen to a Cleveland game all I need to do is hit TuneIn radio and it’s there. It’s clear, it’s accurate and it’s right on the money! It is absolutely five stars out of five and it would be six if there were six! Great job guys!

Too many commercials. I realize Tune In Radio has to make money somehow but there are just so many commercials now. Every time you switch to another station, you get the obligatory 30 second advertisement. Tune In was not always like that. I know if you get a premium account, there are no commercials but I personally think the monthly fee is too high. I also am still angry that when Tune In Radio removed their “record” feature, they also went into to people’s libraries without warning and removed anything they had recorded. Users should have been informed that that was going to happen. All I ever recorded were occasional radio shows if they were featuring an interesting topic. I had six years worth of the special JFK show that was done by “Coast to Coast AM” every November 22nd. I used to enjoy re-listening to those shows once in a while but Tune In saw fit to remove them from my library. Ditto for a few shows I had recorded about the making of the Mercury Theatre’s historic 1938 broadcast “War of the Worlds”. There are always people who bend the rules and I have no doubt that there were people who might have profited from the record feature and violated copyright infringements. I was not one of those people. I still maintain that it was wrong for Tune In to go in and wipe out their customers’ libraries. Tune In Radio is indeed a wonderful app but all the commercial advertising now is really tiresome. I live in hope that one day my library will be restored.

Used to be great, now? Meh. I use TunedIn Radio everyday. I listen to a classical station when I go to sleep and a local morning show. I am using the free version and I am not sure if this makes a difference, but what I loved about it was if I missed something I could back by at least a half hour. Sadly, I can no longer rewind. The only other issue I have been having is the app has been dropping connectivity for some reason. I mostly listen while at home and our wifi strength is very strong. Even if we didn’t have wifi, our areas internet strength is strong as well. Despite all of that, I still use it first thing in the morning and as I am heading off to sleep. If you could bring back the rewind ability, I will absolutely come back and sing your praises. Until then, it’s meh.

Great Premium features and a Suggestion. Update Issue: Not sure if anyone else has reported theirs issue, but a month or so ago, the station icons are not showing up in the Home page of the Carplay app. It happens both for wired and wireless connections. I have tested both on a Subaru and Jeep Cherokee and the issue is consistent on both. Some icons are showing, some don't. Thank you I love the Premium features and excellent stations for every mood. I would like to suggest that an option is added to be able to remove stations from the Recent section. As I’m just trying different stations, it can crowd the Recent section and I have to start playing the most frequent stations to get it back in order. Also, why the Premium is not playing on Alexa? It’s been like that for last month or so. Not sure if it’s on the Alexa side or Tunein. Keep up the great work. Love the app.

702 talk radio gets flooded with ads. How can I enjoy listening to 702 today, this is Election Day in South Africa and you are spoiling my listening with numerous advertising. (Cutting into talks, news etc). You assured me recently that ads from your side only come on at the beginning-“never during the talks otherwise people will be disillusioned just like me”, you lied! You told me ads during are done by the radio stations. These are all Americans ads 702 talk radio would use to interrupt their news? Come on, You could do better, don’t lie! What use do I have to tell you all this quite a few times. -nothing gets done on your side - you need to make changes in order for your listeners to stay with you. Can you put me in touch with your customer service before I leave your radio service with a bitter taste in my mouth. Thank you, Beate Hammonds Boerne, Texas, USA

CBS yanked all their stations away from Tunein. *To those reviews about subscription or trial period.. you DON'T need to sign up for the Premium service, nor do you need to sign up for Trial period (which does roll into a Premium paid service if you don't cancel, so just DON'T sign up for Trial period, you can just skip past anything regarding signing up). You can listen for FREE, without having to signup for anything. Too bad that CBS pulled all their CBS Sports and CBS Local News stations off from Tunein (but that is not Tunein's fault). And other censorship concerns would only apply if this were a government run service, which it is not. Those commentators have the right to free speech (with their own broadcast antenna, their own newspaper, their own website, etc) for their views, but other companies such as this can not be compelled to distribute such speech if they choose not to carry it. ---orig--- **Everyone needs to complain directly to CBS Radio (and their Entercom owner)... So evidently CBS Radio (and Entercom, who merged with them) is who forced all of their stations off of Tunein as of July/August, requiring you to use their own radio app instead (which is highly inferior to Tunein). Also, that CBS/Entercom app is not supported by Roku and other services (the way Tunein app was used by Roku). First CBS forces you onto their own subscription service for streaming TV, now they do the same thing for radio. Sad !!

App crash. I listen to sports events while working and it was awesome when I first got the app. All the major sports has games here now only a few do and when listening I have to stop working ans restart the app literally every 1-2 minutes because it will just turn itself off and there’s nothing more frustrating than something exciting happening and in the middle of the announcers excitement the app stops so I turn it back on to not even know what happened because it takes forever to restart the app is when it does start it pays a commercial I have heard 1000 times then returns to the game and then shuts off again in a few seconds. I have messaged to cancel my plan and they won’t respond so I’m going to have to cancel my debit card and set up everything I use auto bill on the get this over. If this app was free it would still be too much to pay.

Apple Watch Trouble. Have long used and enjoyed the app on my iPhone and iPad mini. I recently bought an Apple Watch, and the app is really finicky on the watch, especially when trying to start music or change channels. Once music gets going, the start, stop, rewind/forward, and volume controls work fine, but the Watch’s own audio software allows for that with any audio/video source in use at the time...so nothing gained by having a separate Tuned In app on the watch. Because of the unreliability on the Watch, I end up gravitating back to my phone to get music started and, occasionally, to switch channels. Customer Service told me the Watch app is only a remote control for the phone app....but it is not yet an effective one. Will remove the app from my Watch if the functionality doesn’t improve. Aside from being limited in its ability to function as designed, that design only allows the Watch to display a list (no graphics) of recently listened to stations...cannot bring up favorites or browse or do anything else.

Very Impressive. I like the variety of stations within different genres & the selection of international stations. I use the basic version everyday but will not use the pro version as I hate the emphasis on a profile to "share" what I'm listening to. It's a juvenile, insulting concept to monetize loyal users. Also, as others have said, the stability of the basic version is becoming weaker & I don't trust Tunein to upgrade without the "sharing" aspect but to lose the library of stations I have. It's a very impressive app conceptually, but the corporate, seemingly irresistible drive to maximize profit makes it fundamentally flawed. I don't mind the ads, but using customer profiles to attract investors is wrong. It could and should be much, much better! Greg St. Martin Portland, OR

Poor buffering of stream. I’ve used TuneIn for listening to news. The app have very poor buffering performance. This means the stream is constantly pausing while it buffers. I understand this can happen occasionally when cell reception is marginal, but even with a strong cellular signal buffering happens every 10 minutes or so. The buffering period can last several minutes and often when it does start playing it will play 10 seconds then repeat those same 10 seconds two or three times in a row then continue with the stream. It doesn’t matter what station I stream the buffering issue always occurs. I haven’t found a setting for setting buffer size. I would like to get premium service but the app’s performance to too poor. All other streaming services I use, such as direct streaming from radio stations or podcasts NEVER buffer.

Need to fix buffering. Update: The buffering was fixed and worked for a period of months, however recently the ability to pause and playback was removed from the app. Now hitting pause will only save data for a minute or so, then no additional steam is saved and the recording just jumps forward to live. Prior to this the app would save about 30min before jumping to live. This is a huge setback in app performance and makes the app almost useless, since even a short phone call will result in missing part of a broadcast. Hopefully this feature is restored, in the meantime I will unfortunately have to look for a new app. Too bad because I have used this for years and enjoyed it. First of all and probably most importantly, the app content is great. However there are issues with buffering that need to be fixed. The app offers pause and RW/FF functions, but if you pause for even a short time the app will skip ahead midstream once you are playing back the buffered content. Also when playing back buffered content it will randomly repeat a few second long portion several times. Buffering is a feature used on many apps these days and it usually works flawlessly, this app needs to fix these issues to compete. If buffering was fixed this would be a 5 star review.

Christopher 83. Grew up listening to all these tracks reminds me of my grandparents when they where alive and when all the family was together and happy god bless them

Expensive. Been using this a while and then get a prompt asking if I want to renew my subscription. Renew? Didn’t even know I had one - how much I wonder - $106 is how much! App deleted, what a total ripoff when you can listen to the same radio stations through other (free) means.

Scam!. I never purchased this app, never used this app & they have taken $145 from my account without authorization. It’s a scam. Scroll through & read other reviews like mine! I was charged last year & didn’t notice the charge but when they tried to charge me $145 again this year the payment bounced & I received an email to pay & that’s how I noticed they were going to indefinitely charge without any authorization. I asked Apple about auto subscriptions & they have said not having the app doesn’t mean you won’t pay for it as payments are through iTunes, so you have to actually unsubscribe- amazing as it is so easy for them to subscribe you without authorization!

Beaut app. I’ve had this app for 4 years and it has been a great app worked well and never stuffed up, would recommend, great job. Would encourage more a few more stations to stream eg 2DU Dubbo (1251) Beaut app though.

New feature please. I quite like this app for listening to music and talkback radio. I only wish I could use this as a radio alarm for the morning. When the phone is locked, all the app does is beep once. How about allowing the alarm actually turn the chosen station on instead

Constant issue with buffering. I love the app, have used it for many years but continue to have frustrating issues with buffering

TuneIn everyone. Reliable Wide-reach less-ads go-to radio app progressive . Just be more forward thinking than others otherwise people get bored.

Frustrated. For some reason within the last 12months. When I listen to Triple-M In Australia, it keeps repeating the last 10seconds before continuing to the next 10seconds, then repeating again. No update or uninstall/reinstall fixes this. It’s driving me nuts. Sometimes it’s more or less than 10secs and some nights it’s fine. Anyone else?

Great, even on the free tier. However. It would be neat to be able to resume podcasts on different devices. Pause in car Resume on iPhone

Useful when travelling. Handy app for when traveling to find a local station, or to tune into something from home.

Tune In Radio. Very clever, simple to use, practical and reliable application! My old iPhone 5 is now nothing less than a World Radio Receiver. I connect to and listen through my entertainment system. Fantastic! Very satisfied listener.

Top rate. This is the best way to enjoy all types of sound hands down !!!! It has to be the best station in aus I stream it from cairns It plays my type of music Keep it up Rebel !!!!!! Only the best !

Used to be a good app. I have been a long time user of Tune-in. I am starting to experience more and more issues with the app. Multiple times I have tuned into one of my favourite radio station only to hear a completely different (non English) station playing. Which is not fixed even after rebooting the app. I have also experienced issues with no sound. The add tunein app marketing ad will play fine prior to the station beginning however when the station starts there is no sound (even though the play time bar down the bottom is ticking away). The worst part is I paid for this app (tunein pro) prior to becoming a subscription fee based app (which entitled me to ad free listening) however when they change their payment structure they think it was fair to recharge customers for things they were already promised from purchasing there original one-off paid app.

A great radio station. My husband and I love listening to Curtin Radio. The Music they play is right up our street. We also try to always tune in on Saturdays to Born in Boots. At the moment I am really enjoying the serial “ Portrait of Jennifer “.

Great. I was let known by a friend some years ago of Tunein. As a Southern African, a favourite radio station was LM, and Tunein made it possible to find it. Since then, I’ve found a number of stations I also enjoy. Thank you very much.

Australia. Used to be a great app, however, lots of cutting out and most frustrating is the ads on start up and now cutting in while listening to an important news item. Getting progressively worse. Really determined to get me to pay for an upgraded version??

Best of free apps.. I’ve tried a number of free apps as I’m a real radio nerd! This is the simplest & most features of free apps. Easy operation. Only issue, is some more detailed search parameters would make finding stations easier. But once you found it, easy to save & opens and connects very quickly. Just select & enjoy! No worries.

Not always in sync. The app looses itself sometimes and repeats a story numerous times. Shut down and start up again sometimes fixes it. 50% of the time it works fine.

Tunein app is fantastic. Best radio app ever invented, even the free version hours and hours of uninterrupted listening. I only hear an occasional ad when changing the station. The ads on the screen don’t bother me when listening to radio. When chrome casting the are no ads on the tv you cast to. Brilliant ap and one of my most used. Loving every radio station I can possibly think of

Great app BUT PLEASE REMOVE SCAM ADDS. Great app but was alarmed to see an add for a Toami antivirus shut out card. This is a scam, false advertising (claims scientifically proven), illegal ie has been banned in some countries. It is dangerous and can cause death if a person relies on it from belief they are protected from COVID19 infection and then catches the virus. PLEASE REMOVE THESE DANGEROUS SCAN ADDS AND NOT BE EXPOSED TO YOUR OWN LIABILITY FOR HARM TO YOUR LISTENERS.

User friendly and good delivery of requirements. I use this app daily. It enables me to carry around the radio wherever I go; headphones whilst on the move or Bluetooth speakers at home/in workshop or plain mobile speakers for quick catchup. And even when I am holidaying in New Zealand...

Excelente App. I love it because I can listen to my favourite radio station from my country Colombia South America, but I live in Australia. Is so good keeping up with News and new music. I also listen to music from USA, Spain, Venezuela & Brazil Thank you

Great app for any music. This is my go to app everyday for listening to local radio. Also when I lived in Hong Kong I And got homesick for Australia I craved local news and music and found this app. You can listen to music from all over the world. I use it everyday for staying in touch with local community news. Well worth downloading

Ads ads & more ads. Used to love this app but now find it very annoying. The ads that run over & over during startup & then again randomly. The ads just start randomly so if you’re listening to the news it just interrupts whatever you’re listening to. And often plays the same ad over & over so you have to listen to it three times over 😬😬.

Very poor ad quality control. Brand new iPhone 12 with 128 Gb and a dodgy ad comes up saying storage full! I clicked “clean now” thinking it was an iPhone fault but it came out with a thing trying to sell me some sort of cleanup app! Very bad form!

Recording gone. The whole reason I bought this app was so I had music on long journeys where there was no coverage.. I had umpteen shows recorded and played them when connection was not available No idea what happened to the recordings or the ability to record and playback

Stop asking for review when it’s been given. I’ve received the “are you enjoying TuneIn”, many number of times and have selection go yes, but I’m sick of it, so have been selecting No for some time now. Stop it please.. I don’t want to close pop ups all the time, and I’ve answered before.

Bugs!. I used to love this app but it’s become really frustrating. After you’ve used it 3 or 4 times it stops working and whatever station you select just won’t connect. When this happens you have to delete the app and re load it. I have held off on ungrading yo the premium version for this reason. I’m not spending money on something that doesn’t always work. Please fix the problems.

Almost 5 stars. It’s a great app for listening to radio stations from around the world. It’s simple enough to use but some radio stations are difficult to find. Sometimes typing in the radio station name doesn’t mean it will come up. They need to work on a refine function for searches, adding regional would be a cool function. Apart from that one flaw, it’s a great app

Not working like it used to. I have used this app for years and loved it. Over the past couple of months it is continually buffering, sometimes it restarts, sometimes it just stops. Worse still, it fails to start when launched - the little spinner goes for several minutes before an error box pops up. So disappointed, I hope the developer fixes this soon.

Expensive. I downloaded thinking it was a free App. Didn’t realise I’d paid until I checked my emails. Shocked because the quality was poor, kept dropping out, spooling, then often would hear a repeat of what I’d just heard 15 seconds earlier. I thought the radio station was repeating itself until it just kept happening.

Doesn’t matter where you are. One more app to make you feel home no matter where you are, all your favorite home country / local radio stations and more!

Amazing!. Better than using short wave like in the old days, 100 foot high ariels and wires going every which way in the back yard. “Listen to that, Charlie,” Brother Bill used to say, as something incoherent and Asian came through amongst the noisy hiss and crackle. “That ... is coming from China.”

Best for a long long time. I remember the old days, before the logo change, before the subscriptions, but hey, times change. Still my favourite and best way to listen to the whole world. I feel like I am visiting when listening to local radio in odd places. Love it.

Deceptive sign up process. At no point does the free trial sign up process notify you that you’ll be charged $145 at the end of the free 30 day trial. This is extremely deceptive and something that would catch out a lot of people who don’t take the time to investigate what they will eventually be charged. No other payment process would get away with this, and if it’s legal within the App Store limits then they should be tightened.

The BEST Disney Stations!!. The only app that hosts stations like TuneDisney. It’s almost impossible to find any other english Disney stations that have quality content & that stream internationally!! Thanks for providing fun, family entertainment, TuneIn!! Review by Jodiesjourney [dot] com

Used to love this but the adds are killing me. The adds randomly start playing unnecessarily, sometimes after 2 minutes. They also repeat the same ones straight after each other. Don’t bother downloading...

Great app but buggy. This is a capable radio app but it has two annoying bugs. 1. At random, it just stops and doesn’t come back. Sometimes it does but about 1/10th speed which sounds like a demon has taken over the radio. 2. If you get a phone call it’ll pause (good) then pick up where it left off, then after about 30 seconds it jumps back to live and won’t let you rewind. So if you were listening to an interesting story on the radio, well tough luck you’ve lost it. If those two bugs were addressed it would be a 5 star app.

Pulverizing my favourite channels. Sometime in April 2018, my favoutite podcasts and music channels suddenly disappeared from Tune In. Then reappeared. Then partially disappeared again. There are 80+ episodes of one podcast but Tune In often only shows 20 or 30 episodes. My Internet & wifi is strong & stable; it's not dropping out. What gives, Tune In? This has been a problem for 3 weeks & it is ongoing.

Some functionalities not working. I've liked tunein so far, however the 30 secs backwards and forwards isn't working any longer and that's a shame Some stations are also not available any more and other are breaking up here and there

Used to be good. This app used to be number one for me, but now there's so much ads you can't enjoy it. Changing from one station to another with ur music full blast to hear an ad. Or some stations just plays the ads every 10 seconds into the song then again and again. Makes it a useless radio station. Deleting unless fixed

Getting worse. Most apps get better with time. This one has undoubtedly got worse. No record feature any more (which was super helpful), and now the app won’t function in the background anymore while using other apps. It’s like we’ve gone back in time. Maybe it’s a bug which will be fixed - let’s hope so but for now it’s not being used for the first time in about 4 years.

Nice app, but never stops asking for reviews. It’s is a nice app and I have used it for years, but it never stops asking for a rating with the pop up, which sends you to a webpage… That’s despite rating it already. This has become tiresome, and is frustrating when driving especially. Would be a 5 star if it wasn’t for that.

Fix the bugs please. Hello developers of tunein. Before iOS 11 this was a great app to listen to music on, but when opening it will crash 5 - 10 times before maybe opening. I have found that I have to fully close down the app and start again and then it may or not may not open. Frustrating please fix.

Freezes. Love the Tunein Radio but lately it freezes in mid play every time must go back to my phone to press the play button , i removed the app and reinstalled it again but the problem is still there and it is very annoying, in the past never had this issue now every 30 min max must press the play button

Radio. I just adored this new radio station I found and I got to listen to it a few times now I can’t get Johnny’s it just comes up as an error! But I have been taken around the world with accents so it’s great for me learning my languages and also tuning into the news of different countries!

Love this app. Being this app for many years, I travel a lot and I’m always connected to the news. Highly recommend

Don’t get sucked in with updates.. Performance improvement and bug fix updates are nothing but the loading of new ads to listen to before your selected broadcast. Ads unbearable and interrupt the program you’re listening to at random times. Sometimes the ads run for upto 2 minutes at a time, only for the app to then crash causing you to listen to them again as the app reloads. Have gone to a direct app to listen to my station now. Much more direct and reliable. Won’t be back

Excellent. I use this app every day, especially when driving. There’s just one improvement I’d like to see. An in-app volume control would be very useful. When using navigation apps such as Waze or Google maps, the navigation instructions blast my head off as the Tune-in volume is so much lower.

Feedback. The ability to fwd and backwards has disappeared. WHY?? Pls reinstate this feature as it’s invaluable when internet is not always reliable and often drops in and out. Especially in bad weather days. There is a bug in 30sec fwd and backwards TuneIn gets worse as they increase their profits and profile. When will they actually think of providing a great product before making great profits? Shame. Each time i update I get worst product!!

Do not work anymore. What I learn from this App is when they do an app update and say “bug fix”, you should read something like “bug and more ads” instead... Time for me to delete this crap. More ads! More ads! You got this TuneIn. Delete app thanks!

THEY STEAL YOU EACH MONTH WITHOUT YOU KNOWING. I AM SO EMBARRASSED!! MY APOLOGIES!!! YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST AND SO SO PATIENT WITH CLIENTS LIKE ME 🤭 THX 4 EVERYTHING!!

Beware. Where are you disappointed and feeling to see eve by this app, it advertises a free seven day trial but upon excepting the trial it immediately charged my credit card and was significantly more per month than it is advertising. Very disappointing service and selection. Much prefer my Spotify

Addition to the app. What about adding a wake up to music option

No review. I do not have time for this. Make it damn optional

Ugh stay away. This company has been spoofed. You will get a subscription notice, even though you don’t have the app. The developer does not respond.... stay away

Tune in Radio. Love love this app. Only downside is that there are sooo many commercials for the premium part of tune-in radio. When you listen to the same radio station in your vehicle or home radio they only have basic commercials. I quit Sirus Radio because of the monthly/ yearly fee, Now I am second thinking it. Love the variety of stations you can listen to, but don’t want to pay so I don’t have to not listen to the commercials

Too expensive. Why would anyone pay $10 a month/$120 a year for something you can get for free somewhere else? Come on guys, a couple of dollars a month might be just about worth it, not $10.

Awesome. Love using Tunein

Rip off. Don’t buy folks, app is a rip off bunch of thieves. pro use to be premium back 2-6 years ago and now they made premium the new norm and the folks who bought pro lost there money because we (members who paid for pro) have to paid again for what we paid originally couple years back. I have proof of buying also app developers (crooks)

Très bon.. Très bon de la vrai musique de cheveux long. 😎

My review before deleting. Annoying ads at the beginning, during the music play and now those full screen ads!!! Charging users +$120 a year to listen to free broadcast radio stations. Worth a delete now.

Constant prompts to subscribe. A decent streaming audio player that constantly harasses for subscriptions.

Absolutely horrible.. The add adds to the radio. The amount of ads is ridiculous.

I love TuneIn. My go to is always TuneIn in the morning! I don’t know what I would do without it! Gina from Toronto 💜

It's app like no other. I like it for the stations I don't get from home areas . Too many ads

Misleading con. I opened up my basic TuneIn app and was mislead into subscribing for the over priced pay version. I have have a vision impairment so from a quick look I thought I was consenting to a version update - when in fact they were taking my money. Nothing worse than feeling taken advantage of.

Enjoying my free version.. I’ve had the app for years and years and loved it. It’s a bit tricky at times to get to the free version as it continually asks to upgrade it to premium paid version. I’m thankful for the free app as I’m getting sick of everything else requiring paid subscription

Horrible. I downloaded by mistake and deleted the app minutes later. I asked for refund but was refused. Really turn me off and feel ripped off

Disappointed. As soon as the Big 615 station was made available I downloaded the app on both my iPhone as well as my Apple Mac computer. It was great to have the app open on my computer and not interfering with my internet windows. I was away for the weekend and when I came home I discovered the app no longer works as a stand alone on my computer - it automatically directs me to a web browser to listen. Don’t understand why it won’t work with Apple. Otherwise I’m loving the app !

Ads, ads, and more ads.. What a brutal “free” service. No one wants to hears this many ads. I’ll stick with I Heart Radio.

Great choices!!. I like all of the choices of radio stations I have from all of my favourite places to visit.

Parfaite, mais tarification premium demesuree pour enlever la pub. Tout est dit dans le titre!

Deceptive adds. Was a good radio app but the last few times i have used it deceptive advertisements came up that mimicked iOS security warnings tricking you into pressing links.

Awesome. I love funky fridays

They hit you with so many ads to frustrate you. They actively try to frustrate you into upgrading to their paid subscription. They throw so many commercials at you until you can’t take anymore. This is not a proper business model; it’s one of deception and intimidation. There are so many better alternatives.

Demasiada publicidad. En últimas versiones demasiada demasiada publicidad local

This app stinks. No easy way in the app to cancel your trial for premium. Avoid at all costs.

Why. Whyyyyyyy start now with the adds.. this is why I no longer want use you 😒

You ha ve more convenience app. Thanks for all you hard work in this app, is really good quality’s Many optional and actually good choices. Don’t take off your quality’s.

Pay for radio?. You went sideways. Used to be good. Not worth crap now!

Monthly subscription. Just clicked unintentionally to subscribe for a monthly charge of $13.49. This was due to misleading options that said “start listening” or something along those lines. I assumed I would be listening to the free version I had downloaded. Anyway, my fault for not paying attention but clearly designed to get schmucks like me to subscribe by mistake. The free version works just fine but I don’t needs to be hoodwinked into paying a subscription fee for free radio stations. My fault for not paying attention but shame on app designer for making it easy for me to mess it up like this.

Commercials. The usability of the app is significantly rescued since commercials were added at start up. The radio Chanel I am listening to already has commercials. These commercials are a nuisance annoying to the point where I would never buy what is advertised. If this continues, I will stop using the app.

Dislike the new upgrade!!!!. Miss the volume button right there on the right hand side, so helpful, NOW, gone. Instead LIVE is substituted. Plus the 30 forward and the 30 backwards useless too me too. Why would I want to rewind and forward during a song I plan to listen too all the way through? Useless. Completely useless. Well that's my opinion.

Bluegrass Gospel. I really enjoy listening to Bluegrass Gospel!!😊👍❤️

Awesome app. Great quality Amazing work

Best to worst. Used to be good app. Now cash trash. You don’t even create any good content for premium service.

My review. So I like this app I have a vpn and I listen to American radio from Canada and it helps with my anxiety. But if anything went ever wrong I would panic so it really helps me. However what annoyes me is when the whole app went down that scared me the most. But it is great. I am currently listening to 106.5 the end WEND HD-1 Charlotte. Charlotte’s rock and alternative. So some ups and downs

Advertising non stop!!!. This app was amazing now every time you switch channels it’s an ad ever so often there’s another ad the is all third party it ruined the enjoyment of the program or music you are playing

GO OUT OF BUSINESS!. This app was made by very stupid people. Tunein integration should be removed from all homepods.

Tune in. Best play by play team in St Louis.

Sucks lately the pro version. From the best app to one of the worst because every 3 to 5 min it’s a publicity instead it’s not theirs stations! You guys transform a pro version in an unpaid app.

Great App for listening to music. Gives you ability to listen to any radio station around the world

Dingo Botswana. I love the station and enjoy the buffering. Very little and or close to no lag. Works in a car, home and at work. I wish there could expand to more stations in Botswana. Missing the public radio that you used to have. RB1 and 2

My Review four this app. Well it’s like this it’s great too listen too but I would like too sea something I heard on one of my trips coming back from children’s hospital in Vancouver I would like too her a radio contest where u jouring the answer music question the album the band the year of the album and the lead singer and in turn if he answers correctly all question’s he gets his prize if he doesn’t pick it up himself at the radio station. Also I would like too see radio stations remove adds that self promote people or pets that don’t exist anymore it was reminded me of a first national girl I never got too take home from the school dance that was a fellow classmate and she has a unmarked grave near my parents church and I have been asking a guy at work too take me too pay respect’s too a old classmate also I have lost teachers too and Inclushine inployee’s that broke the mod as a radio station fan and movie trivia winner also my cousin and his wife renovated most of the restaurant’s in my home city but like the tv series reading rainbow that’s another story and why did nobody ever interview fred penner well he was still alive do his show cbc.

Excellent. Pour êcouter le monde en direct.

Paid for the original app. I bought the original app years ago. All my money gets me now is lots of ads unless I want to pay again for there premium service

7 Stars not 5 ❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️. Best channel ever love it ❣️ keep going ❣️❣️❣️

Stopped using too many inserted commercials over content. Stopped using too many inserted commercials over radio content Will not subscribe if it is a monthly subscription.

Waste of time. This app stops working continuously, forcing you to listen to commercials upon re-start. Huge waste of time

Internet hacks and wire fraud. I had their service for over two years. Recently, another source hacked my credit card. I immediately reported to my bank they canceled that card and the bank issued a new one. Right after these individuals try to use that old card to pay my monthly fee. Before I could update this account With them. I made a pledge on Facebook using the new card, the only charge on that card. Two days later that card was added to that account without my permission. The only way they had access to that bank card was to hack my Facebook account. So beware of this is Invasion on your personal banking.I have canceled my subscription and turning it over to the FBI.

Generally I like it but one huge headache. I really like the app. It allows me to listen to stations and music I otherwise wouldn’t hear living where I am. It also is a great way to listen to several podcasts. But my headache comes from the fact that because I mainly listen to the podcasts to and from work, I don’t listen to them all in one sitting. So I try to continue with the same podcast I was listening to the truck ride before so to speak. It would be nice if the podcast would remember where I was in the podcast from the last time rather than starting over at the first. Then I have to let it download to the spot I was and most of the time I don’t look at the timer to see where I am leaving off when I get out of the truck. Please get that fixed. It is very frustrating.

Stops and restarts all the time!!. I have been a faithful user of this app - using it almost every day since I first downloaded it 4 yrs ago, and in certain ways I love it. I want to be able to give it 5 stars because I really like a lot of its feature, such as the ability to pause, rewind and fast forward, which aren't always options on other radio apps. But I had to give it 2 because it constantly stops in the middle of something I'm listening to and resets. Meaning, in the morning I like to let it play talk radio while I'm showering and then when I get out, I rewind it so I can hear what was playing and fast forward through commercials (very nice!), but maybe halfway through a 30 min section it glitches and resets to live radio so I miss everything in between. This happens at least 3 out of five times. It drives me crazy!!!

Long time user, first time reviewer. I’ve had this app for a long time now, but it wasn’t until recently that I’ve actually appreciated it. At the beginning of the year my fiancée and I moved up to the P.N.W. It’s been 9 or so months and I miss California dearly. You see, I didn’t take into account the differences in radio stations up here. There is no K-Earth, there is no 94.7 The Wave,, and that made me forlorn; Until I remembered that I had TuneIn Radio. Now I can hear my favorite Cali stations while up here in Washington. Growing up I would fall asleep while listening to 94.7 The Wave. I started doing it again just last week and I feel back home.

Mostly great. Updated review: latest update totally fixed frozen screen problem and stopping when opening other apps. Only longtime problem that still remains with tunein premium is that I’m still hearing ads sometimes on MSNBC. CNN doesn’t have that problem. ————————- Content stops playing when I open other apps. Also, when I go back to Tunein to restart playing, I have to wait for the frozen screen to unfreeze until I can restart or change to a different station. Used to be a lot faster. I know, I know - you’re working on it or the problem’s been fixed. No it hasn’t - you answer all complaints like that. I promise to update my review after these issues are fixed.

Don’t download you will get charged. I would give this app ZERO stars if I could!! I was trying to find a way to listen to my local football team broadcast while away and came across this app. It “seemed” like it was free to download but then after you download it, you get a week free and then get charged $10 automatically. Of course I had tried to uninstall, delete and cancel the subscription/app. It is made pretty much impossible until you get your receipt from being charged where you can view your subscription and have the option to cancel. I never even used the app and ended up paying $10 for the pleasure of it because it didn’t even play the game I had been looking for. It’s a useless app that is designed to scam you. And of course there is no one to contact in order to get your money back either once it’s been taken.

Not working on Apple Watch, sneaky about subscription. UPDATE: After deleting and reinstalling the apps several times, TuneIn suddenly began working properly on Apple Watch and iPhone. I have revised my star rating upward accordingly. But I can’t give more than three stars because of the sneaky first screen after installation that tries to trick the new person into a pricey subscription. *** The app plays nicely on my iPhone, but on the watch it does not install. I reinstalled the app. The previous version at least installed, though it was unresponsive on the watch after that. Other watch apps are working normally. Watch v. 4. , watchOS 5.2.1., iOS 12.3.1. For honesty, you should quit advertising that the app supports Apple Watch. I have emailed Support, but none of the suggestions worked.

Nope. I loved this app for a very long time. I don’t anymore. I don’t want ads interrupting my stream all the time. The developers will tell me to just subscribe to premium to get…wait for it… LESS ads, not ad free, just less of whatever they want to shovel at you for the moment. Hard pass on that! I pay to remove ads, not merely decrease them. If I wanted ads, there is this old fashioned thing called a radio I can use. The annoying popup that asks if I like the app will always get clicked NO even if I loved this app. Why? Because giving me two options of yes and no and no way to just close the little popup is crap. Shoving me to your website or the app store upon BEING FORCED to click one is crap. You got your app store review out of me though, so go on and click that “success” check box and go on about your day after leaving me a copy/paste developer response.

Does not keep track of playhead. So, you are listening to a podcast, but are taking a break for a few minutes to do something else. Now, you switch back to the app and discover that TuneIn kicked you out of the stream, but puts a speaker symbol next to the most-recently played episode. You may rightfully think that you can simply continue where you left off by selecting that podcast again, but you would be very mistaken. TuneIn does not remember how far into the podcast you were, it simply starts from scratch. Nice ... not. Why does it kick you back to the overview screen after you had placed the app into the background for a few minutes, and why can’t it remember the playhead position? An enigma wrapped in a mystery that only the talented programmers at TuneIn will know the answers to. I personally am still using this program to listen to NPR, but wouldn’t mind finding a smarter app.

Scammy “Subscription” Techniques. Trial-user beware! I tried this service’s free trial. The service was fine, but it wasn’t something that I personally found worth paying for. So, I did all the steps to cancel my subscription. But NO, apparently you have to cancel your subscription again, even if you have ALREADY cancelled it. So I find a $100 charge on my credit card for a service and app that I had cancelled and deleted a month ago! And adding to the unfairness, instead of being reasonable and charging for one month of this service, they charge for a FULL YEAR. Now, they’ve taken $100 from me and will NOT refund me, even after I described the situation. So if you do your free trial and want to cancel before you get charged, be sure to cancel twice. Heck maybe a third time. Maybe cancel that credit card. Maybe even change your name and move to another country.

Charged during free trial. I wanted to listen to world news on the road and decided to give this app a try. It offered a 7-day free trial for commercial-free and once I said yes, I got charged on my credit card. 🤔 I contacted the developer within an hour of being the receipt, but I'm not even sure why this would happen on this app, through the App Store, on my Apple account when it was literally an hour into my 7-day trial? At least the developer is responsive and I've contacted Apple as well, but this annoying. I'll think again before agreeing to trial any future app. The app itself though worked fine on my mobile data while driving. The options are limited, but that's probably due to what's available on the radio waves, rather than an app issue. I'll increase rating (4 stars) if my money is returned.

Have enjoyed many years. I started using Tunein Radio in 2011 if memory serves me right, and I have dodged the review our app pop up all this time, so today my conscience got to me 😂, and I will tell what I think. It’s been wonderful free entertainment to me when I couldn’t afford more. I was particularly interested in finding The Dennis Miller Show, and Old Time Radio programs from 40,s through 60,s as well as music from the 70,s. I live in Alaska, and it has great reception here, and when I have travelled to the lower 48, it has worked well there. This year is the first time I upgraded to commercial free, so as not to have interruptions during Baseball games I say give it a try! Laura in Alaska

Favorite Radio Station 👍🏼. I like to listen to my favorite radio station while taking my grankiddos to school but do not have a home radio So I dwn loaded Tune In looked up my FAVORITE RADIO STATION AND THERE IT WAS 👍🏼👍🏼 Now, I not only get to finish listening to my favorite radio station morning show BUT I can listen to Radio Stations LIVE from other Towns, Cities & even other States!! 😏 I never get bored👍🏼 When I’m switching over from my favorite station in the car to my iPhone when I get home it’s only like second behind !! Always comes in clear 👍🏼 I’ve had nothing but good experiences from this App 👍🏼👍🏼 soo Thank You For the Great Service 🥰😉

Yes. I’m enjoying Tune In. Now stop asking!. Seriously. Your “Are you enjoying Tune In?” pop- up shows up entirely too often and always while I’m trying to set the sleep timer. In other words, I’m in the middle of something and your pop up locks me out from being able to accomplish my task. I could answer YES to get rid of the pop up but I now always answer NO. You interrupted what I was doing. Again. I’m not giving you the satisfaction of answering YES. Answering NO causes a customer service page to open up, which I ignore and return to Tune In so that I can finish setting the sleep timer. So could you please NOT interrupt me? I like Tune In just fine. Quit asking! Thanks.

The App was great until it wasn’t anymore!. When I started with free Tune-In, I was really pleased as everything I used on the app worked well without frustration. I REALLY LOVED YOUR APP!! Then after a year of the free app working well, I decided to upgrade which was a HUGE mistake as everything then went to HELL! First off, I begin paying for Better Service and Greater Options and all I got was repeating ~ repeating ~ repeating news that was so tiring and frustrating it became not worth listening to. I could only handle the Pro App for 1 month. Then one day MSNBC wouldn’t connect and that’s still happening to this day which is a great big bummer as that’s what I listen to most. So since nothing was working as well or better than it did before I started paying for the Upgrade (which was really a DOWNgrade), I stopped it because of the questionable service received. The repeating finally subsided but that could be because I stopped the Upgrade. MSNBC is still GONE which is maddening!! WHY???? I wouldn’t mind paying for your service again if: ~ it didn’t repeat endlessly ~ MSNBC becomes available again For me, it’s not worth paying for the version of TuneIn I received while paying. WHY???

Choices and Options. I’ve been repeatedly solicited to subscribe to music streaming services. To me their genre offerings are boring. Every song in each genre sounds the same. It’s like working in a coffee shop and having to listen to the same sound tracks day-in and day-out. Yuk. I prefer mixed music options. As I have traveled, I have found interesting stations on local radio networks. I have favorite stations in Texas, northern Michigan, Santa Barbara, Outer Banks North Carolina and others. And it’s not just music offerings. There are many local stations with great news perspectives. With Tunein Radio, I can listen to a huge range of options anytime I want.

Used to work...... I read several of the reviews and agree, it used to be a reliable and trusted service. I usually listened over the google speakers, not the iPad, but it became totally unreliable many months ago and jusr stops working regularly, requiring a restart, then it works again for a while and stops. Tunein “support” is useless, with no phone and only email responses that just repeat the same incorrect non answers. Clearly they have a problem that they have no idea how to fix. Even writing their CEO does not get an honest or competent response. Lately it elicits no response at all. It’s sad when something that worked well goes awry and there is no ability to repair it. I listen to CNN and MSNBC on tunein. All other services, such as pandora work the same as they did before, so the excuse that google changed something rings hollow as the others seem to have adapted.

Fixed!. I pulled the trigger on TuneIn premium at the yearly rate of $99 through my Mac computer. However, when I download the app for my iPhone, all I see is a monthly option for $9.99 and no way to login. How can I get the yearly rate without being billed twice? I like the convenience of sports in one place... REVISED REVIEW: After working patiently with tech support, they navigated me to the right place on the app to login to the app. You’d think the app dev team would put the login page in a spot where you could find it easily. So far, it works and getting access to live sports for $99 a year for my car, it’s a great and more affordable alternative to Sirius XM.

Great for keeping up with hometown news & sports. This app has really been a GAME CHANGER for me. I LOVE it. I use this app for a few main purposes: 1) to listen to Fighting Illini sports live when they are not available on tv. 2) to listen to local news and sports from my hometown and 3) to listen to MSNBC live in my car. When my father passed away and I was 4 states away, I was able to tune in to WDWS radio and listen to the local news team talk about my dad and chat with his best friends on air and share memories. Priceless. In addition to the “Penny for Your Thoughts” show each morning, I also like listening to “The Plant Experts” on Saturday mornings as they talk about growing plants in Downstate Illinois. I don’t have a garden but i still find it very soothing lol! A local show about Illini athletics comes on after The Plant Experts - again, priceless news I can’t get anywhere else. I’ve used TuneIn radio to listen to Illini football games on many a Saturday afternoon while out on a boat in the Gulf of Mexico! Thanks very much TunedIn - keep up the good work!!

minus 100 ⭐️. sept 2022 still same complaints as last year so tempted to try premium again.. then.. I remember that instead as non relevant stupid mind numbing stomach churning ads ..on premium you repeat content which was worse IMO.. have you change how fill the space on premium? My mind needs to disappear while breaks are taken may2021 I am baffled by what TI gets away with ..I agreed to listen to mind numbing ads to listen to a few minutes if content, but TI must be desperate for $$ premium$$$ as NOW the same pop up comes up on a count of 1-2-3-4. .. just now worth it.. MNBC is the worse.. So, into other platforms .. june 1,2021 minus 100 stars.. just saying nothing has changd all third rate sound, streaming and everything stated by others.. but NEW 😱is the ads , they are specific to an area that is over 1000 mikes away.. so awful need to keep repeating.. hello??

Two issues that need to be dealt with if I am going to continue as a user and possibly subscribe!. The first issue has been a serious one as long as I have been using your application. Even though I have background refresh off, your app has the highest off screen power usage of any of the radio apps I have tested. (I hold a bachelors degree in electrical engineering so I make these tests very carefully) Secondly, and I think this has been somewhat consistent for at least the last couple of years, the accuracy of what is playing currently on a given station is very inconsistent and less than satisfactory for my purposes. I listen to a fair amount of NPR content in the app which often shows NPR programs when they are not in fact the program that is playing!

Commercial volume & PSA’s. TuneIn is great in many ways, but we’re looking for alternative streaming venues. The main reason is that commercials and Public Service announcements blare through the speakers at extreme levels. We are constantly jolted by the volume changes and the need to decrease commercial sound levels is more and more irritating. Also the actual program volume levels are so low we often can’t hear the programs, but commercial breaks are 10 times louder. Keeping everything at the same volume level is what we’re looking for. Finally the exact same PSA’s are broadcast during breaks and have not changed in over ten years.

Unlistenable now… Update. One of the first apps I loaded over a decade ago on my first iPhone 3GS. Always loved for sports talk and news but no more. Removing from phone after finding alternative. Commercial breaks are the same non stop repetitive tune in ads. Torture. So TuneIn replied to my above review and either misunderstood my complaint or chose to address it in a manner it was not intended. They explained that they rely on ads to keep app free. That’s great, I don’t mind listening to a few ads to access content I want to listen to if they are normal paid commercials. My problem is hearing the exact same promo for TuneIn radio 6 times an hour. It’s awful and their solution (of course) is to offer me a free month to their premium commercial free subscription. Well, I have been a premium commercial free member. Yes, rather than being tortured by the one TuneIn promo, you are tortured by the same cuts from other shows from channel you are listening to repetitively. Also the music channels have no commercials but play 50 songs over and over. There are far better alternatives to free radio listening and premium commercial free music streams than TuneIn with much less repetition. Thanks but No thanks TuneIn developer response team.

Used to be great; now streaming is erratic. I used to love this app, six months ago I would’ve given it five stars. I am a premium subscriber, I like to listen to my local pro sport teams on this app . However, over the last six months, the quality of streaming has suffered greatly. It drops the stream all the time, both on Wi-Fi and on cellular data. It just inexplicably drops and takes a while to reconnect. It buffers over and over again. Occasionally it will not reconnect at all and I have to close the app and reopen it. I’m not sure what is happening, everything is up-to-date on my cell phone, it’s an iPhone X, running the latest iOS. I searched the app for a way to communicate directly with the company or developer. Unfortunately, they do not offer a “contact us“ option on their app. There is no way to inform them of this problem, other than leaving a bad review. Please fix, this app used to be great!

Rip off!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Be extremely careful with this app, I unfortunately downloaded this junk by mistake in April of 2018 as soon as it was downloaded I deleted it from my phone. Literally wasn’t on my phone for more than five minutes! It was apparently free for a week after that you are charged $9.99 a month without agreeing to it until you cancel the subscription that you never agreed too!!!! Deleting a app will not cancel a subscription, which absolutely makes no sense at all. Seriously how ridiculous......yeah let’s delete this but start paying for it , sounds good!!!! So I’ve been charged $150 to date and luckily noticed it on my bank statement. Immediately cancelled the subscription that I never asked for or agreed too and never got notification of !!! I have no clue if this app is good or not even though I have had a subscription for almost two years without knowing but I certainly wouldn’t recommend this app to anyone.

Not worth paying for the subscription. I mostly listen to CFB on TuneIn, but after several months I’ve decided it’s not worth $15. The stream is always way behind the game (sometimes several minutes) and there doesn’t seem to be a way to refresh the stream once it gets behind so you have to force quit the app to refresh it, making it a frustrating listening experience. Additionally, when I try to cast to my Google Home speakers it always crashes while trying to connect. Meaning I can only listen to games on my phone. Its also annoying that you can’t listen to games after they are over, so there just isn’t that much content to listen to. If they archived games to listen to after the fact I might consider resubscribing, but overall it’s just a frustrating listening experience and a bad value.

I agree.... ...with the previous reviewer.

Keeps cutting off all the time. I have several Radio apps on my iPodAnd don’t have trouble with the others but tune in continues to cut out every 20 to 60 minutes then goes back to the home screen I have to start it up again sometime to start and immediately cut off then sometimes it will start and stay on 420 to 60 minutes. It’s not my Wi-Fi that’s not my iPad because I don’t have this problem with other app and don’t have trouble with the others but tune in continues to cut out every 20 to 60 minutes then goes back to the home screen I have to start it up again sometimes it starts and immediately cut off then sometimes it will start and stay on 420 to 60 minutes. It’s not my Wi-Fi that’s not my iPad because I don’t have this problem with other apps

From great (2012) to decent (2015) to awful (2017). Newer "Newish review".... WHY WOULD YOU REMOVE THE IN-APP VOLUME CONTROL?????????? ______________ "Newish review".... since they only allow you to "edit" reviews, not post new ones. STAR TAKEN AWAY. I NEVER would have updated as past new versions have constantly let users down, but 75% of stations I listened to previously stopped working. I thought it was an update issue, so I updated. SURPRISE!! Guess what?? 75% of the stations I used to listen to on TuneIn STILL don't work. "We're sorry but an error has occurred". There version of the spinning carousel wheel. Also, the new UI format is heavy handed, clumsy and honestly a big step back into 2010. AND WEIRDLY... why up rewind or ff buttons to 30 sec??? 15 sec was just fine!! You just set yourself back another 4 years w that one TI. #stoptryingtofixstuffthataintbroke! My review from 2015..., FYI Why?! I'll tell you why... So they can play another ad when you have to restart stream manually. So ridiculous. We all get it, you need money to run this thing, but STOP BEING SO GREEDY and running horribly mainstream and REMARKABLY INEFFECTIVE ads EVERY TIME A CHANNEL IS TUNED. I use this app because it's the only option with this many stations. The second someone develops one even remotely close to tunein, I'm deleting.

Only use it because there are no other options. It’s the only way to listen to my local radio stations while I’m traveling. However, if there were other options I would use them instead. Some of the programs I’m listening to are so quiet I have to have the volume maxed out only to injure my ears when the advertisements start. This is not a problem when I listen to these stations on my radio. Other times it gives me the ad that usually plays when you start the station on repeat instead of the station. If you aren’t careful with an unlocked screen, you can tap sketchy banner ads asking for all your personal information. They allow obvious scams to advertise on them like “tap now for a free iPhone!!” This app has a lot of potential, but these issues need to be fixed.

Buffering endlessly. I used to love this app. I recommended it to everyone. About a year ago, it started having a glitch where it would repeat the same 10-30 seconds of sound over and over and over. I tried to find solutions and the only comment was “it’s buffering” I tried to turn phone off. I tried deleting and reinstalling the app (as if that were actually ever possible on an iPhone). The only change I noticed was that the monthly premium went up on the reinstall. Eventually I gave up. I deleted the app and my premium service. Occasionally I’ll come back and listen to non-premium channels, but you can’t get that everywhere.

App shuts down every time I look at another app on my iPhone 7.. Ever since the update to IOS 13, this app is not working the way it used to. If I pause the stream & then start it again & then look at another app while listening to the the tune-in app, the tune in app shuts down & I have to open it up & restart it again. Also even just looking at another app while listening to something in Tune in app, it will shut down, sometimes numerous times within an hour. I don’t understand why this is happening since these problems were not there in the past. I hope this can be fixed. Don’t know if it’s a compatibility problem. I have rebooted my phone & even deleted app & uploaded again & I still have the same problem noted above.

Apple Watch app doesn’t work without phone nearby. TuneIn Radio has great content so that is 5 stars, the app loses a star on the Apple Watch app. I have the Apple Watch Ultra 2 with LTE, and yes the app is available on the Apple Watch, but I can’t leave my phone at home and just use the watch because when I do, all the app does on the Apple Watch is the constant loading circle, and when I load it on the phone and walk too far away from the phone, the app cuts out completely. I have LTE service on my watch and the other apps work fine, just not TuneIn. Please fix the Apple Watch app so it will work on LTE.

Customer Service for the Little Guy. I was having issue with my favorite podcast, Around the NFL, loading the most recent episodes. I tried everything and finally figured that it wouldn't hurt to reach out to TuneIn’s customer service, although I fully expected not to hear from them. Not only did I hear back, but Patrick stuck with me over five email exchanges to resolve my issue. I am back on track with my podcast and unbelievably impressed by the level of customer service I got. These days, most large tech company customer service portals are a black hole, but this was the absolute opposite of that. Thank you to Patrick and TuneIn.

Ah TuneIn, why didn’t you raise the price?. When it was decided that audiobooks weren’t working as intended, the first option was to dump them. Now I know soooo many people think $8 a month is reasonable for unlimited listening, I know that is crazy. There were no limitations like the library where you have to wait for the book to come back in. One book costs more to purchase than Tunein’s premium price. Now why didn’t you first TRY to raise your price. I would have paid 3x or more for access to this many books. I was one of the ones listening all-the-time. Now my choice is Playster which is so horrible so far, can’t find books, weirdness in charges, loses place etc. I can’t do it. I am going back to library. At least I still have Rachel & Bill at TuneIn.

Do not get suckered into tune in premium. If you pay for premium tune in will continue to insert their own commercial that is not a part of the actual broadcast to the front end of EVERY feed you click on. Sometimes they insert their own commercial, which again is not part of the actual broadcast, to the middle of a segment of a radio show just because. They do not operate in good faith & rip off their so-called “premium” users who are are supposed to be “commercial free” with their own extra commercials, taking your subscription fee & still treating you like a non-paying user. I have contacted tune in about this repeatedly & they either deny that they actually do this or make other excuses & never correct the problem. Do not pay for their subscription. They have competition who does not operate in bad faith.

Me and all my friends miss 103.1 FM!. My name is Brian I am from Glen Burnie Maryland, and 103.1 has been my number one station since the day they started. Everybody came from 102.7 underground or 99.1 HFS. And when I turn somebody onto the channel I said, hear this song? You won’t hear it again for at least a week, or, we called them a B-side station. I do get to listen on the streaming of WNR. Hopefully they chose to not continue because they’re only choice was to be syndicated and that’s never good because you’re forced to play “the man“ wants you to play. I could keep going and going! Thank you for being the number one station in the area! Thank you, Bryon Buckland

Video Ads??? (Freezes App). Seriously? Relatively recently they’ve incorporated video ads into their app which has been problematic to say the least. I don’t mind ads as everyone needs to pay the bills, but video ads in a radio app… yeah, what can obviously go wrong there? Most users launch the app to listen and move on to other things, like other apps or just locking the screen while taking a jog or anything else, but as soon as you leave the app screen if a video add pops up it freezes the whole app. Even if you try going back to the app screen it’s too late and you have to close it out and start over again. Again, I don’t mind ads, I just mind the lack of any common sense that was used in the decision to pop video ads into a radio app and have them require an open view to avoid having the app fully spazz out.

Great, could be better.... I use this app nearly every day to listen to live talk radio from several cities or stations throughout the day. My favorite feature is also the root of my only complaint: fast forward and rewind. I LOVE being able to pause playback while on the phone or at a drive-through or etc., but the buffer could be larger and more reliable... rewinding too far or too often can cause the app to fail, jumping the buffer to the end of the content erratically. My star rating is higher than my first review since some of my concerns were addressed and improved. Yay! It would be awesome to have the ability to save the buffer to listen later! How about a timer to record a program for later playback?

No free versions anymore?!. I’ve had this app for years and always had the free version so I could listen to my morning radio program clearly since where I lived it was spotty on the radio. When I got my new phone I went to download the app, and got this updated version that is now “pay only” thru a 7 day or more trial. Even tho there’s an advertisement for a free version, you only have the option to chose a free trial and paid subscription when you hit the “start listening” button. Come on.... even Pandora has an easy free version with ads I listen to. I just wanted my local radio stations to be clear. If this is what it’s become I’ll just not listen anymore and delete this crap. I’m not about to fall for a trial I can’t get out of so you can swindle my money. I’m on a fixed income and just wanted to laugh a couple hours in the morning between Z93 and Bob and Tom. 🖕🏼🙎🏻‍♀️

Ads are interrupting programming and are too intrusive. No longer as great as it used to be. I’m totally cool with ads to help developers and content owners produce great apps or great content. I would pay if the value proposition makes sense. Tune In used to work really well with ads. I noticed that the ads on Tune In are completely different from what is on the radio, which makes sense. They used to come during the natural commercial breaks in the programming and all worked well. Lately I’m finding that’s not the case. Ads are coming on the middle of someone speaking and are way too intrusive. I find I’m using Tune In less and less and opting for my favorite station’s native apps, web streaming in the browser or hustling literally tuning back into the radio. Just like people are going vintage with many other things from vinyl to clothing, I predict people will come back to the radio if this keeps up.

Too many ads!. When I open the app, there’s a pop up. When I start my stream, I have to listen to a 30 second ad. Banner ads during the stream. The fact that you offer a paid service only makes it worse. It seems like you’re being greedy. No other stream uses so many ads. I don’t mind the intermittent ads during play. But when I open the app I want to hear my content right away. I do love the option to pause and rewind live streams. Extra star for that. Edit: Deleting this app. The ads have gotten worse and the option to rewind live streams is gone. Also, it constantly buffers even when I have a hood internet connection. The only solution is then to close and reopen the app. And then BOOM! Another ad. Having to download a separate app for each station is less annoying than this one app.

Something’s wrong! Please fix it!. For several weeks now, the app interrupts my listening pleasure to announce that the particular channel I’ve chosen—MSNBC—is “experiencing difficulty”. It’s only with MSNBC, and it occurs several times per day, every single day. Then the announcement interrupts whatever MSNBC show I’m enjoying for recordings of earlier shows while the glitch is supposedly being fixed. Then last week, the app started playing weird, loud music—no announcement, just the music. After several minutes—if I continue listening—the transmission switches back to MSNBC. Usually, I do not continue listening; I switch to CNN or CSPAN or almost anything else besides the loud, weird music. IDK what’s going on, but the app would get five stars for content from me, if these annoying interruptions didn’t occur several times a day!

TuneIn Radio is the BEST out there!. What more can you ask for? TuneIn radio has all the American Radio stations broadcast on the internet as well as International stations worldwide. It’s great to listen to your hometown radio station when you are in another state as well as for my European parents and in-laws to listen to the music in their own language from their old home countries. Works well on my iPhone as well as on Apple CarPlay in my car. Well I could ask for one more thing, I wish they had an app for the AppleTV so that I don’t have to AirPlay or Bluetooth it there so I could use my smartphone for other activities.

Almost ……….. Hey folks. Thank you for an inexpensive way to listen to the Mariners and Hawks. I’ve only one complaint. When the streaming is interrupted Wether on purpose like answering a phone call or incoming email. Or because of the unstableness’s of a WI-FI signal, before I can resume listening to “the game” no matter how short the interruption an add or two plays. While I understand that by listening to the free version of this wonderful radio app I will be listening to advertisements i wonder if there’s a way for the algorithm to differentiate between a lost signal of a few seconds to one of many minutes or more and drop the advertisements for the short and often inadvertent interrupted stream? Anyways thank you for the consideration and the app. Good evening.

I use it constantly. Some platform of this type is going to be the future of radio. I use this all the time to listen to radio stations across the country, which is a big deal for avid jazz and classical music fan. Then there is the ability to timeshift virtually newscast from across the country since i live in EST. Glitches I've noted are mostly a function of Internet connection. At work, it's virtually flawless because we have a super fast connection. At home, there are interruptions. but I have to say even those are rare. I would like it if they created a way to remove folders once you’ve created them bc they stand in the way of getting to “favorites” which creates too many clicks before you get to the station you want.

Great app!. This is a wonderful app. It gives you access to everything you need, music, news, sports, talk, and everything in between. It has millions of stations from all around the world. It’s a great app. Now the next step I believe for this company is to expand to television. We need a tune in TV app, that will what people watch wife TV stations across the United States, NBC, ABC, CBS, ESPN, Fox News, The CW, Fox sports, all those channels. As well as local TV stations, and TV stations from other countries, just like tune in radio. That’s the next step, and I hope you consider making an app like that, because that would be perfect for people who don’t wanna pay for something like cable TV, or a subscription service. Just a suggestion, love this app, God bless.

Review. I'm gonna say I like this app because it's got plenty of options besides books. My other app was audible for five years but they have an egregious method of getting new books. Tune in app has all sorts of books and documentaries and music and a wide variety of interesting stuff! By egregious I mean you can't get new books on the app but rather you go to the actual site and pick the book and download the book and then back out to the app and "wait". It's just a dinosaur and I need books on demand because I'm a member of a book club. Your price is quite hefty but it's totally worth it. By the way why don't you offer "war brides"? I can't find it for book club
