Coverage? Lite App Description & Overview

What is coverage? lite app? NEW: 5G maps & integrated speed testing!

Directly overlay and compare cellular carrier coverage maps! Perfect for travelers - research where you're covered across the USA (and now Canada!!)

** Follow our Facebook page to get update alerts: http://www.facebook.com/CoverageMapApp, or check our support page**

Coverage? focuses on helping mobile bandwidth junkies find cell signal as they roam. Save time looking up coverage on the carrier's websites, compare their claims head to head and better plan your travels to stay connected.

** The carrier's maps in your pocket: This app contains regional level maps based off of each major carrier's data map - as found on their website as of our last update. Quickly overlay the carriers you use to create your own personalized coverage map on your device.

** No internet needed: Our proprietary coverage maps are stored within the app on your device - no downloading needed! Quickly access where you're supposed to get a signal, even when you have none.

** Urban and rural areas: Maps are at a regional level, and cover the entire continental USA, Canada, Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands.

** Carriers included: AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, US Cellular.
** Canadian Carriers: Bell, Telus, Rogers (optional unlock)

** Know where to roam: view 5G, LTE, and roaming areas as overlays, focus on finding the coverage type you desire.

We created this app because we are full time 'technomads' ourselves who rely on mobile data to work remotely. Keeping this app updated is a priority for us, as we depend on it ourselves!

--------------
Coverage FAQ:
Q: Why aren't the maps more detailed or released more often?
A: Our map updates require a lot of meticulous labor intensive processing. There's just no practical way to issue a new update every time a new tower is turned on. We monitor new coverage and try to find balance between effort & staying current. This generally means at least a couple updates a year.

Q: What makes 'Coverage?' unique?
A: There are great apps out there that collect user submitted signal reports - we recommend them and use them ourselves. However, those apps are only useful in markets with an active user base. We took a different approach with Coverage? - we needed a tool to at least give us an idea of where signal should be - urban, rural, and out in the boonies.

--------------

The maps in 'Coverage?' are provided in partnership with Ookla, and represent proprietary interpretations of the coverage reported by each carrier. You should not rely on the maps in Coverage to be perfectly precise or absolutely timely.

Ongoing map updates have been free - but to support the ongoing development costs, we now allow customers to subscribe to higher resolution maps that will be updated more frequently.

Coverage does not report or predict signal strength (there are great apps out there for that!). We can make no promises as to where you'll *actually* get signal.. there are too many variables - towers, device, terrain, weather, etc.

So… Got Coverage?

Great and Informative App. Thanks for the information, especially for new 5G midband update. Nice to see how TMUS N41 ahead of VZ and especially T N77.

Is it up to date. How up to date is this app. AT&T map on there web site looks different then this map (4G) in Ohio.

It's awesome but.... IS IT FREE

Great. 4g coverage is the same as LTE, except t-mobile

GM. App hasn't been updated in over 6 months !!! So coverage maps are outdated.

Not as advertised. Not as well as it seams it would be

Mostly useless.. Pressing almost any button nags you to buy the full version. This free version doesn't have anywhere close to accurate maps. It uses the term "4G" very loosely. Places that I know have barely EDGE coverage supposedly have "4G", according to this app.

Updated in 2017 now only 90% worthless. Insufficient detail to help. Just trying to sell upgrade.

No LTE. You need to pay to see LTE. Who cares about WiMax anyways since its basically just the same as 3G but doesn't always work...

4G Finder. This app only leads you to the pay app. It did not provide information about LTE like it said it would.

Mc star. Good

Hasn't been updated in OVER a YEAR!. Very very outdated maps, basically useless considering both ATT and T-Mobile have more than doubled their 4G coverage. Example: when this App was last updated in Jan, 2014, AT&T had rougly 200 or so 4G markets (areas/cities). Now it's 500 to 550 markets AT&T covers with 4G, which is the SAME amount of Markets Verizon covers with 4G.. Huge difference then what the maps show. Same for T-Mobile they updated their 4G a lot but these maps are so outdated and don't show that.

Feeder app for others. The ads and upgrade prompts make the map difficult to use. It's of limited utility but is better than nothing I guess. Better data is available on carrier websites for free.

Whats the point. Whats the point, iPhone doesnt even get 4G or LTE

How does it work?. I saw one review saying it worked well. I don't understand.😥 it's a great idea though. For that I'll give it a 4.

Very very basic. Not worth the 2.99. Just look up coverage map online for free. No detailed info or options.

F. G

Excellent. Is awesome you can find your data plan on your iPod touch 5gen so you can choose data plan on iPhone

.... I don't really understand this, may someone explain please

Deceiving. Can't use to find LTE.

App has become useless. In previous versions of the app, users had the option of accessing other coverage map layers besides "4G". However, especially in this newest revision, it is impossible to access anything other than the 4G map (and makes it well known and with an annoying popup rather than not displaying the buttons selecting the other layers at the bottom of the app).

Best. Nice app...Great work by the developer.

No updates for THREE YEARS. Honestly, the app is okay, but because the coverage hasn't been updated in three years, the information is useless, as all of the major networks have greatly increased their 4g coverage.

??. Does it work for itouch 2nd and 3rd generation?

OK. Could be a little less expensive but it does the job.

WHY!!!. Where's my town Tewksbury Massachusetts said on the Internet that AT&T added 4g lte and the update doesn't show it

Meh. It's ok but they really need to update the maps!!!!!!!!! It very useless without that. The Omming feature is helpful, and they should make it so you can see more types of coverage than just 4g. An update is a must!

Coverage Maps Accuracy. As a T-Mobile customer The coverage maps for Kansas & Oklahoma are wrong as of 05-07-2020. Actual coverage is far less than what the map shows.

great app. does what it says

07-Sep-19 - Correction. Not clear in the product description is what the "trial period" is. On a "splash screen," the first time you use "Coverage? Lite," you are told it's THREE USES. For those three uses, you get the full "Coverage?" After that, the product description tells you that many (most?) of its features will "lock up." Bottom line: Based upon your needs, it may be worth your while to go straight to the $2.99 version of "Coverage?" and skip "Coverage? Lite." Good about this app is that the prices are clearly labeled: $2.99 for "Coverage?", and that's a one-time fee. They list $5.99 and $4.99 per year for the annual subscription. I suspect the $4.99 is the discount mentioned on the splash screen if you first pay $2.99 to "unlock" the app. Those with the annual subscription can expect to get updated maps more often (and in HD). So, what you need to decide is, just how are you going to use "Coverage?"? First, I would say that, as a one-time fee, the $2.99 is reasonable. The subscription fee is a more difficult thing to process. It would come down to just how you plan to use this app. For me, I use the app only when I'm thinking of shopping around for a new cell phone carrier. I might also check it when traveling, especially to places like Arizona, Nebraska, and Nevada, where some of the major carriers don't always have good coverage. It's a good "heads up." I imagine that if I lived in an RV and traveled all the time, especially to highly rural areas of the west, the subscription service would be a better idea. That's just my thought process. What is yours? Corrections: I deleted much of my 02-Sep-19 review since it was based upon my bad memory. In particular, I thought I got "Coverage?" for free. The author states that "Coverage?" has never been free. If that's the case, then "Coverage? Lite" may be a good way to look at the "paid for" app. I only upgraded from two to three stars, though, because I really don't like the concept of "crippleware," software that lets you use it a limited number of times before it "locks up" and isn't that useful anymore. And in this case, the stated "three uses" would seem to make the "Coverage? Lite" app shut down in a very short time; as I guessed above, maybe less than one day.

Ok app. I like it but it favors version and isn't actstreamly accurate

Useful. It's nice to compare carriers side by side

Confusing interface. I tried to see the coverage at my dad’s house where I’ll be visiting, and it appears to show there is 5G in rural Texas. I don’t think so. So I tried it at my house, and it says I have strong 5G. I have one bar.

Data is Patently False. This app appears to base coverage purely on what the cell carriers say, who have an interest in giving you the impression of the widest possible coverage. I know for a fact that there is no Verizon or T-Mobile LTE coverage at my work. Only AT&T works. But according to this app it has coverage by all major carriers.

It really should include Canada and Mexico. The

Not good. Want you to pay to have access to everything. You can use 4G for free.

4G!!. Yaaaay now I have 4g for my iPod touch!

Confusing. Checked coverage, I thought, but map just showed a purple/pink color overall (not sure what that means)EVEN THOUGH MY CELL SERVICE IS REALLY WEAK Seems a waste of time and energy

It's ok...... Not a bad app....but definitely needs to update 4g areas more quickly since many in my area are not noted on the application.

Low resolution. This is only good to find out whether your county has coverage in general. It lacks the resolution to see your actual neighborhood.

This app is alsome. Hollas

Not Useful. We don't have 4G We have 3G Either Develop a " 3G finder Or mark the price of "Coverage?" Down to $1.99 instead of $2.99

These maps are old from 2014. Very old technology on these maps whoever's behind this app should be booted off the App Store

Does as it says. As someone who travels all the time this app accurately tells where I will and won't have 4g coverage with Verizon. Good tool to have

Auto deleted. This app requires a purchase to view LTE coverage trash app

Coverage info directly from provider.. If I wanted to see what coverage the provider claims to offer in my area I could go to their website and look at their map. There is zero value provided by this app.

Lucky it's free. Does not work for Australian telcos, so don't bother if you are not in the USA. It's lucky to get one star.
