Great app for transfer to NAS!. I have a TrueNAS server that I have been backing up to manually, until now. I purchased the premium version, then reached out to support to see how I could get it on my wife’s phone too. Support was quick and courteous with very helpful information on how to do it. Now, we can both automatically back up to the server and this saves me so much time. So far I have tried SMB and FTP for transfer. I have it setup to automatically run at 2am when charging. FTP is much faster, while SMB is painfully slow. From what I have read, SMB is better for large, single files but has a lot of overhead when transferring a lot of small files (like a list of photos). So experiment with the protocols if you are not seeing your desired behavior.

Works the way you want to use it. If you use an iPhone with a windows computer or otherwise don’t like to use cloud services, this app is for you. Importing photos with the provided utilities from Apple and Microsoft had given me nothing but errors, headaches and wasted time. This will let you use simple, standard protocols (FTP) that have existed since the beginning of time to sync your photos to your home PC or remote server without any nonsense. No proprietary databases, just regular old file transfer. Why in gods name I need to BUY an app to do this seemingly most basic of functions that should come stock is a face palming thought, but $5 is a « fair » price to make my expensive device do something any 1995 dell wouldn’t shrug at. Only caveat, I’m not sure if there’s a way to simultaneously backup to redundant servers simultaneously, if there is, the UI should be improved, if there isn’t, it would be a nice feature.

work better than ever!. Been using this since it first came out. Each version even gets better. Lightening "FAST keeps track of what you've synced, where it went, has all the meta data (file size, etc, keeps original file size!, simply amazing. Had a problem of it crashing all of a sudden? Deleted it and re-downloaded it, back to normal again= perfect. My love of this app continues to grow over the years! It truly is the only apple app I use Every Day. Can’t imagine not having it. I’m praying it will work with ios13... and after all this time why wouldn't it...it worked smoothly with all the previous upgrades...Mahalo nut load - Michael in Hawaii

Awesome App. Had massive issues importing photos from my iPhoneX to Lightroom 5 on my iMac. This is a widely recognized issue among users. It would literally take 2 hours to import 200 files. This app moves files wirelessly into Lightroom very efficiently-like when I was using my old iPhone 5! Very easy to configure too. The only minor issue is that you lose date/time metadata on videos. Lightroom will bucket the video on whatever day you imported and ignore capture date. However, the correct time/date info associated with the file is retained in Finder. So you can do some manual organization if you’d like. I think this issue is corrected in the current versions of Lightroom. Other than that, I love this application and highly recommend.

Superior to any built-in function. After an update to IOS 16.0.2, I lost the ability to transfer photos to my computer. This app seemed okay, so I gave it a shot. Frigg’n amazing! Now my work phone, personal phone, wife’s phone, kids, etc. all sync to the computer. Automatically, wirelessly, in the middle of the night while they are charging. (That’s an optional setting, not the default). I wake up to a clean iPhone ready to take all the pictures I want. Now if a phone drowns or explodes, at most I will loose that day’s pictures.

iCloud Photo Backup. I have all my photos on iCloud but I have a large library of photos so I have to use the “Optimize Storage” option which means I have zero local copies of all my photos, they only exist in the iCloud. PhotoSync let’s me backup all my photos easily, quickly, and incrementally to my NAS (but it also works for many other types of storage online and offline) without having to jump through hoops. I just have it set up in my iPad (or you can do iPhone) to automatically download all new full resolution photos, and then transfer them to my NAS. Worth the low annual premium cost for this peace of mind!

Great transfer app. I downloaded this app when I had issues with the previous transfer app I’d been using and the other developer was unable to solve my problem. This app works great at transferring photos and videos from my iPhone to my Mac laptop, including times when I have over a thousand files to transfer.

Amazing App I’ve used for years now. I have used this app for many years now. It works so well that I take it for granted uploading all my videos and images. It’s works seamlessly sending files to my laptop. I eventually will start using more of the options but it automatically converting files to jpgs and mov’s when transferring is such a great part of this program.

Simply the best and most reliable way to backup your photos and videos. Setup a WebDAV auto backup of my photos and videos back to my NAS. It’s run flawlessly for close to two years now. I was looking for a reasonable way to have a current backup of my most important data and this app fit the bill perfectly. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to have a persistent backup of their media outside of cloud services.

Much more dependable than Apple’s transfers. I don’t give much reviews but today felt I needed to give one. I love this app and have it installed everywhere, on my iPhones, iPads and on my macs! My friends also have it. It’s the best photo transfer app for the iPhone. It is much more dependable than Apple’s own transfers. I stopped using Airdrop because it failed so many times, or would stall, or simply wouldn’t see the other device. But not this app! This app finds my devices immediately, never has had any trouble connecting and the transfers are fast! Highly highly highly recommended.

Ignore Moron who states it won’t do what it claims.. This app has more features than any other similar app, that I am aware of. Someone gave it a poor review; because it wouldn’t auto transfer to a USB device, connected to his router. He thinks that should be considered a NAS, and thus, the app should sync to it. (If it doesn’t have an IP address, then it isn’t a NAS!). The only complaint that I could possibly have is that it’s level of customization is so extensive, you could get lost in what you are doing. I don’t have any problems; but I have a degree in Computer Science. Less technical users might have problems. I would recommend that some future version integrate a toggle between basic settings and access to more advanced settings. I love the app and use it on a daily basis. Well worth the price.

There isn’t anything more powerful. For getting your photos and videos off your phone and to your destination of choice. Forget iCloud and Google. Easily send your photos and videos to the storage of your choice, with file names and folder structure you design, easily and automatically. This app has been around for years, with a responsive developer who isn’t going to abandon you. I’ve recommended this app many times to people looking for a powerful and flexible sync solution for iOS. This is it.

does not work. followed instructions to the various letters. photo does not upload from macbook to ipad. subsequent ferret among help topics doesn't illuminate, as those files suffer from incoherent grammars (as in, to which 'it' does a reference refer, and, to which app does the 'app' in a sentence refer) and instructions specific to older app versions. attempted manual upload, but that appears to be for ipad to mac transfers only. The transfer screen will appear, sees my ipad, but fails to locate my albums on it. 5min later, still searching, i hit send anyway, then a banner appears on the mac, declaring the transfer successfully completed. of course, the upload cannot be found. isn't that peachy? 2hrs of time, 5 bucks in.

Ends the I cloud back up back up. After trying to get the iCloud app to make friends with my Windows PC, in order to empty pictures out of the cloud, I downloaded this app. After you download, then the app has you go to a website, and you download a companion app for your PC. I had trouble the first try, getting it to find my IP address, and found I needed to go back to the first app Ion my phone, and do a couple of set up steps you see when you open the phone app. Then it worked.... all 400 pics, even the big ones moved into my Windows photos still in date order! Went hiking yesterday, did it again this morning, turn on computer, find the app 3 button pushes and they are in your computer before the coffee is done. Thanks developers!

Best app ever to send and receive pictures. I have been a long time user of PhotoSync. The improvements the app has had over the years has been just awesome and is just getting better and better. My family and I use it for transferring photos to Smugmug and it just works flawlessly. Most importantly, is the support and commitment of the app developers to respond and act on resolving small issues I have faced that makes this the best app experience for me. Kudos to this team and hope it continues to grow.

You might need to restore your purchase. Updated review: 3 stars. Ok, if you were “pro” like i was, apparently you might have to scroll down to restore purchases to make the app work the way it used to. Hitting sync like ive done for years wanted money. Super confusingly and annoying! Ill probably start syncing my photos to my pc with a usb cable and ditch this app. Original review: 1 star. Used to be amazing! Now they want $1 a month to transfer full sized photos from my phone to my pc?!? No thank you. I loved this app for years but now I'm deleting it. Don't waste your time with this trash.

Beautiful app.. Love it. I always use this. One day I was so frustrated to copy some videos to my camera roll. I tried uploading to google drive and then trying to save it but never worked. Then I googled and found this amazing app. With this, life has become so easy to transfer photos or videos between computers and phone. Thank u so much for the people who developed this. U saved my time in life!!

Could be great, but……. I love most things about this program….speed, ease of use, etc. However, for 3 years, after I edit picture downloaded from PhotoSync, the program won’t allow me to save changes. It says the image is “open in another program.” I have contacted the app creator multiple time with no success. This happen primarily when I batch save the edited files. I can usually go back and save each image file individually, but that can take forever. I want to love it, but I can’t

Thank you so much. This app is phenomenal, and I hope it remains supported for years to come. Before this app, I was stuck running MacOS in a Virtual Machine on Windows just to use the native Photos app for exports. I was convinced there was literally no other solution after using countless other apps. It felt like Apple backed me into a corner, saying, “Just buy a Mac.” (I already have a relevant laptop and very competent desktop PC, so spending $1000+ on a Mac just for photo management seemed like overkill). I’m so happy that I can keep the categorization I’ve set up in Photos when transferring to my PC. I can Transfer 10,000+ photos to my PC and they will all just go into folders without the hassle of having to organize everything all over again. I can’t believe Apple doesn’t have a similar feature! Even in macOS, I’ve had to manually make all 90 of the albums I have as folders, and then export originals to each one individually. That would take an hour+, and using Files on my iPhone to do this is nearly impossible as it just crashes. Now I can ‘select all’ in this app, leave my phone to do its thing for bit, and then it’s all right on my PC nice and organized. Hours of time saved! I’ve been searching for something like this for over a year, and I was so shocked that it seemingly didn’t exist that I was going to develop one myself! So this definitely saved me a lot of time 😅 Thank you so much. Outstanding work!

Now broken. Reports success even if upload fails. BEWARE!. This App used to be GREAT, but starting some months ago, it would stealth fail on me. In particular, it would show that there are, say 134 new photos/videos on my iPad, and I would tell it to upload all new photos/videos on my iPad to my Mac, and it would show every sign of success, including showing no error message and showing the usual done message and showing that there are now zero new photos/videos. Unfortunately, when I check my Mac, only less than the 134 latest photos/videos actually exist on my Mac. The failure seems to be that a big file, e.g., a 40-minute video, might be the last file uploaded, and no earlier file would be uploaded. This is SO dangerous! I have to hand verify that all files seem to have made it!

Family sharing only work for a hour.. Pay for the pro version and hope other family members can share and backup photos. Work for a hour then pop up and ask family member to pay again to get full quality backup. Update: family sharing finally work. Upgraded to four star. Only problem I have now is after the transfer even I select delete the files before transfer, it won’t automatically delete the file.

Fails to transfer albums to Mac, needs improvement. The only reason I got this app was because of the claims that it can transfer photos AND there is a solution to replicate albums in a new iPhone (without using iCloud or an iPhone backup restore). So I attempted the solution on their website for ~8k photos and ~20 albums. Photos do transfer but it failed several times with the companion program on the Mac. It would stop after the first album, it would crash, , there’s another bug dealing with folders, etc. The developers are quite responsive but this app didn’t work for this purpose. Could be ok for other things.

Photo Sync. In the Synchronizing of photos from one device to another, I found that not being able to transfer to a specific photo album a problem. I tried to transfer photos on an iPhone from a specific album to the same album on the iPad. My iPad setup matches my iPhone’s and I wanted the photos to be set into the same albums. However this app only transferred to the photo albums Library. I had to then move each photo to the proper album. After making the review comment above, I was contacted by the company via reply email and was given precise instruction on how to accomplish my photo transfers. I successfully transferred over 5000 photos to their proper folder in minutes. I would recommend this app and the company service. Thank you for giving me the chance to update my review.

Not Great. I used to like this app a lot, but I'm finding now that I have to force close it on both my iPad and desktop after each transfer. Or, I have to perform the transfer manually ... and then it still doesn't work. The instructions that come with it seem to be written for a different, better app. As I said, I used to like this app a lot, but it gets worse every day. I've moved on to other transferring apps.

Great app used for years. I use this app on a daily basis to backup my photos to my NAS and B2 Storage. I have over 10k photos that I transferred using this app and the metadata stayed intact. However, I noticed since upgrading to iOS 17 that whenever I open the PhotoSync app it would show highlighted images that were already transferred and I would have to close and reopen the app multiple times just for it to show correctly. I never had this happen in the years of using this app until iOS 17.

Everything as promised!. It is rare that something work exactly as promised, but in this case it is true. I don’t give glowing reviews as a rule, because there is almost always something that falls short. Here however that is not the case. We have had this app for several years and it has never failed to transfer photos, or videos from many different formats. We have been extremely happy with this app.

Camera upload feature is excellent!. What a sleeper app! This tool is loaded with features. Was shocked by the set of endpoints you can target. Very well done. Lots of options. Works great pushing photos to a Linux server with its camera upload feature. Professional feel of the app. Transfer experience is fast over sftp. It knows what media it needs to sync but you can also choose the media to sync and also choose to delete the media on the iOS device after it’s transferred. Barely scratched the surface on what this tool can fully do. Kudos to the dev team!

Fits all your needs. I don’t review many things but felt to write this one. This is the app you need once you setup home NAS and want to free up space on your iPhone by backing up old photos/videos. Better than google photos as original quality is maintained. I love the auto backup option, photos get backed up each day once logged into home WiFi. Faced some problems with SMB1 configuration but the developer was super quick to provide beta update to solve it, highly recommended.

Works better than i expected!. TLDR: almost 20k pics/screenshots/vids of ~370 GB transferred perfectly keeping all metadata. I transferred over all ~5,500 of my photos & videos in a few hours to my NAS device all at their original quality. It was about 120 GB worth of stuff! (I shoot in ProRaw and 1080p60) I’m currently getting my wife’s ~13,000 photos & videos transferred in original quality now (PLENTY of screenshots but mostly non-ProRaw and 1080p30 videos) and it’s about 190 GB. It seemingly got corrupted with hers because it started transferring everything over very fast (about 5 pictures in a second) but would say 0.0% complete for each one instead of actually showing progress. I looked at the NAS and it had a bunch of .aae files (the “edited” versions) but wasn’t transferring the original. I fixed it in the app and now it’s working! The best part is all of the original metadata seems to be preserved. Down to the type of device used, its lens (e.g. wide for iPhone 12 Pro). Great app and worth it!

Finally, a solution that works!. I tried transferring manually (a headache because you always get dupes—if it even lets you do it), through iTunes (which would usually crash due to 11K pics, with other programs (none of them did what I wanted)...then, I found this and it is genius! It will only transfer new pics that I’ve taken. It transfers them to jpeg for me and is AMAZING! Love, love, love this program.

be careful with album structure, and no encryption unless you get it from a 3rd party. This app requires a 3rd party encryption subscription. They don’t make that known. Make sure you get one before uploading from your workplace. Your admin will be able to see everything. Also the album structure for IOS must be toggled on, otherwise you have to start over if its not because your photos and videos will be all over the place. The app is not smart enough to fix this issue if it’s not turned in from the beginning. They don’t wan you about this either.

Not working anymore. I’ve used this app for years, with no issues. Now, for the past two or three months, it doesn’t want to work. Transferring from my pc to my phone, it says it can not find my phone. Same issue when transferring from my phone to pc. It is on the same network and the numbers all match. This happens when trying it manually too. Both my iOS and this app are up to date. So it’s unusable.

Excellent app. I’ve been using this app for years to automatically backup my photos to my home WebDAV server for safe keeping. The developer is incredibly responsive. I’ve had a few questions over the years and he responds within minutes. Unheard of in a world of non-existent customer service. Keep up the great work. My only gripes are actually iOS shortcomings; that you can’t schedule auto backups and there’s a time limit on background transfers. Both of these are because Apple places limits on what apps can do in the background.

Better than all the rest!. A lot of photo sync apps advertise to be similar to Photosync but there is no comparison. This is the only sync app that reliably transfers over 10,000 photos in one shot. No fuss. No interruptions. No missed syncs. And the screen stays awake during the whole sync that may take hours, if you have thousands of photos like me. It skips photos that were already copied to my Linux SMB server and it shows you the skipped photos in the progress window. There is a setting that skips copying if the filename and file size matches. The file on the SMB server has the same date/time as the original photo. If the photo hasn't been sync'ed, its thumbnail has a blue border to let you know. Autotransfer syncs new photos when I come home and at a set time every day. It is easy to select a large range of photos: Double-tap the start of the range, tap the end of the range. But it easy to just re-sync ALL photos with a tap. Yes, re-sync 10,000 photos is no problem! There are handy counters at the bottom of the screen telling you how many photos are in the album, how many are selected, and how many are new. Useful setting: Save with filename made of the [Recording date] + [Name]. This ensures every photo is saved with a unique filename, so none are overwritten on the server. Tech Support was over email and very good! Premium level is worth the money for reliable photo backups.

Backwards photo order? + Some albums not showing up? Help!. I’m currently transferring all my photos/videos from iPhone to iPhone (this app is the method I chose to transfer all my photos/videos over after I got my iCloud account stolen). Everything seems to be working great—I can see my photos and videos in full res, I can see the location/time data, and live photos are showing up perfectly! However, everything in the Recents album is showing up chronologically backwards… Instead of the most recent being at the bottom of the album, it is at the very top, which is so inconvenient for a long time Apple user… Is there any way I can fix this? Also, the albums other than “Recents” and “Favorites” don’t seem to be transferring over. For example, I don’t see my Snapchat album or my Instagram album that I have on my original iPhone. The pictures saved from these different apps are supposed to show “Saved from Snapchat,” “Saved from Instagram,” etc.“ but the pictures don’t show that with the transfer. If there is any way I can fix this, this app would be super helpful. Please let me know if there’s a solution to these or if the solutions can be included in the next update! If so, I’ll update my review to 5 stars!!! Please and thank you!!!

This App Works Really Really Well. I’m a software developer myself and I can tell you this app is extremely well designed and implemented. We are very fortunate that such an app exists at such a low cost. For many of the tasks you can do with this app, there are no alternatives or the alternatives cause too much headache. Thank you to the developers of this app. I hope you keep up this great work for many years to come!

Does one thing well. This app is the only reason why I don’t need to spend a pile of money on an iCloud subscription for backing up my photos. Sync options are endless (I didn’t even know about webdav before) so however you want to do it, it’s supported. My only wish is that it would make the most common usage scenarios, like “just backup my photos”, easier to discover and simpler to use. All the options you could possibly want are there, but it sometimes takes a while to dig through them to find exactly what you want.

Impossible to use or upgrade. Poorly written app and probably spyware. I wanted to upgrade to the paid version but that’s impossible, because the app won’t allow me to even see the upgrade menu unless I allow it to access all my personal photos at the same time while it is connecting to the developer’s “big brother” server for upgrading. The app is probably copying all your photos to some unknown internet server while upgrading, otherwise I can’t explain why the developers have hid the upgrade menu unless you first allow it to see all your photos. These 2 should be unrelated. Normally I should be able to upgrade while disallowing photo access, and then I should be able to turn off cellular internet access before allowing it to see my photos.

Automatically syncs iOS photo app libraries. I’m finally able to merge my wife’s own photo library into a single “family library” - *automatically*. Instead of just being able to share an album and than needing to import selections from the shared album to the library, the PhotoSync app automatically adds ALL new photos from another library into a single library or syncs it to another location. The free companion receiver app is available on MacOS and windows and works like a charm. The support site is excellent with plenty of step by step screenshots to walk you through the initial configuration of the sync. It has tons of options to sync to another photo library, files, NAS drives, cloud storage and more.

Been great to me until recently. I’ve used this for years with little issue but lately it has not been as good as it has been. For a while it wasn’t properly identifying the “new” photos that hadn’t been uploaded to another device yet. It seems better now, but I’ve recently noticed that it is transferring a lot of my photos to a computer oriented side ways the wrong way. It doesn’t do this to all photos but many and I can verify that they are not the same orientation on my phone from where they came. I don’t want to have to reorient them right side up.

Great photo backup option!. I was turned on to this a while ago when I came across Photoprism as this has direct integration with it. I didn’t end up using that yet, but this app has been great! Reliably pushing photos to a slew of cloud providers, with rclone encryption. It requires a bit of technical knowledge for some advanced things like that, but if you know what you’re doing, it’s probably the best option out there for replicating and backing up your photos, local and in the cloud.

Great app and fantastic developer!. This app has allowed me to finally achieve a goal of mine: uploading photos to a personally-owned server without relying on any cloud service. It’s incredibly configurable, which is great to help decide how your photos appear once uploaded. On top of the awesome features of the app, the developer is quick to respond to feedback and is more than willing to help debug problems! I had a configuration problem as well as an issue where photos were not appearing. I quickly got responses to my inquiries and had an email exchange to resolve my problems. To be clear, neither problem was with the app, but in my assumptions of the behavior of my given configuration. If you want photo uploads without using a cloud provider, or if you want to upload to many places, this app is an absolute must-buy!

Killer App. I’ve had this app for two days and it’s solved all of my backup needs. From iPhone to NAS and to Smugmug. The selection features, auto sync with triggers and folder and file options are are all great. Best of all. Everything works right away. I loaded the companion app on my PC and was syncing photos in 2 minutes. I sent all 5700 of my iPhone photos over to my NAS and can now delete most from my phone and then sort through my pics on my NAS. I wish all apps were so well designed and WORKED so well and so easily. This is a killer app for anyone who takes a lot of photos and cares about backup or too many photos on your phone. Highly recommend!

Excelent program. Been using PhotoSync for quite some time now. It is my go to program to offload all the large photo/video files on my Iphone, esoecially when I reach my icloud storage limit It is VERY flexible and allows uploads to all sorts of file storage places, plus deletes your large video files once they are uploaded to your NAS, file server, windows share drive etc SUPER USEFUL program!!!

Okay But Needs Improvement. Glad I only bought one month on the subscription. When trying to use this to back up my photos to my PC, the app locked up repeatedly after as many as 624 photos/videos, but several times after only 1. For that reason, I had to cancel and restart the process over 20 times and it took much longer than it should. Will be interesting to see if it got them over all successfully.

From a technical user, this app saved the day!. I usually am not up for spending money on apps but when my phone was full of photos and I didn’t have an easy way to get them off in mass this one really saved the day. I successfully transferred about 12,0000 photos in less than two hours with no glitches. I really appreciate the options for auto generating directories and file names, very professional.

Potential but some big gaps. Bought this product with the intent of keeping my photos automatically backed up. My initial attempts have failed to achieve that goal. If I do a quick transfer I am unable to specify a start date ie start backing photos created after 1/1/22. Recents goes all the way back. If I try to SMB auto transfer I can specify a start date but I get constant errors. I have tried geo location as the trigger and power/TOD and neither worked consistently. As a result while this product has potential it takes too effort for what should be a simple task.

Fantastic Software, Very Responsive Developer. I absolutely LOVE this photo transfer app! I literally downloaded a dozen others as well and compared each one - this was a clear winner by a long shot. Fast, reliable, transfers in full resolution, works perfectly every single time. The desktop companion app is solid as well, makes for a perfect software combination. Lastly, it’s clear the developer really cares about his software. He is incredibly quick to reply and gives thoughtful responses. I love supporting folks who take pride in their products and will spend the money to buy the lifetime premium (despite not needing the features) simply to support a fantastic developer! Kudos for a job well done on this wonderful piece of software!!

Can’t do all it says. This app is great if you want to transfer just between devices. But I’m using an iPhone. All photos already sync between devices. I got this app because it supposedly syncs to local storage on NAS. I have USB storage connected to my router. I keep full sized photos stored there. This app will NOT auto sync to USB storage on your router. You can manually select photos and manually send them there but I could already do that without the app. Nowhere in the description does it say there is a problem with iOS security interfering with the auto upload feature. But there is. This app has NEVER auto uploaded to my storage connected to my router. It’s other features are already built into my phone. I so wanted this to work. When I submitted a ticket, only then, did I receive a link which explains the issue with auto upload and iOS.

In general, it does the work well. I like this app and I use it to backup all my photo library from my iPad to my NAS. You can configure multiple destinations, but if you are using multiple destinations the app can only track what has been uploaded at a global scale (It can’t track on a per destination basis). This is problematic for me as I’d love to use this app to backup to both my NAS and Backblaze B2. Other than that, it works fine. I’m also a bit worried due to the price and lack of updates in a year, but the app still works so it’s probably okay. I am not expecting new features but I’d love to see the ocasional patches.

One that works!. So far the only one photo transfer app that really works. Tried pretty much all the other apps and they don’t deliver. This one has worked.

Very useful. This is an incredibly useful app for transferring images between devices.

So easy to use and so swift. Updating my review of a year or so ago (below)... Still using this regularly for transfers between PCs, iMac, iPads and iPhones. Lovely interface. Reliable. Publisher supports the app actively. I recommend you waste no time looking at others - just get PhotoSync. Previously: This app is being used to transfer numerous photos between several PCs and my iPad2 daily. Fast and very efficient. A pleasure to use.

Don’t update if you use family sharing!. I’ve been using the paid app for years. This update has made it unusable and won’t let me restore purchases via either of our family iTunes account. I was using this weekly. Please fix it ASAP!!

Solves Clunky Photo Transfer for Good Title Lovers. I was an early adopter of this app, before the subscription model came in. I absolutely love it. I have tried it over a low bandwidth café connection and it was incredibly slow. Over Wifi it isn’t lightspeed, but still very usable. This app helps me solve the problem of my computer freaking out when I try to import 10,000 photos by tagging them in small sets. Photosync solves that problem efficiently by allowing file name to be album name and then import albums. If a person imports from an album and customises the import name, ta da! Properly named photos! I love that I can include the date and time taken and album name in the file name. Pure magic. It has the very occasional freak out, but most often these are due to the destination directory being full. On the rare occasion where it fails for another reason, it’s easy enough to restart. If this app had Bluetooth transfer I’d give it five stars. There are plenty of places where there is no Wifi and transferring over phone plan data is too slow and expensive. For Wifi connections, it is fantastic!

Picture transfers. This is one of the easiest ways to transfer pictures from my iPhone to my PC. Once set up and as long as you have a wifi network you are in business. Don’t upgrade it because it is working very well and is easy to use. Thank you

Amazing App - never skips a beat. This was the only way I could find to back up the photo and video components from my phone onto my external hard drive (via my computer). This app is so easy to use and works every time. I have used it for years and it is great.

Life Saver!. I've spent hours and days trying to import files from iPhone to windows laptop. It's not easy. I tried other apps, then found PhotoSync and it took about 15 mins to easily download 3,000 photos all in one hit. Thank you Photo Sync

Stop asking me to review please. Stop asking me to review please

Brilliant. This is a fantastic time saving app. It's worked flawlessly since l first got it. Easy to use, quick response, reliable. I can’t imagine life without it

Needs some attention. Earlier I gave this 5 stars as it used to be a carefree way to get those image and videos to my other devices. Then an update came along and ever since that one update not my iPhone, either iPads both a first and third gen iPad, nor my wife's iPhone work reliably to give this 5 stars. Even though the app is loaded on each and ever idevice desktop and notebook the only way to really get good access is using the browser method, and that is in no way any easier than using iTunes or the iPad camera adapter. And 3 of those I work with have the same issue but choose to delete rather than fuss with it. This must be a common enough issue to need some bug fixing.

Excellent tool. When we travelled for 5 weeks we used the software to download each day's photos to Flickr. It was very quick & extremely easy. We are highly satisfied. If you could improve the software in any way, perhaps you could enable us to set up he default viewing privileges in Flickr? From our iPad we had to go into Flickr and alter the protection on each photo individually. Overall rating: 5 star.

Fantastic. So fantastic I couldn’t live out this app it’s true it must be on the most needed used and wanted like its up there with the best apps I think get it try it you will see and experience why .Cant explain something fully to they have try it and tp try it out only gives you the best experiences

Brilliant for NAS. This app is excellent for transferring photos from iPhone to NAS box

Nearly a great app. If I transfer a lot of files the iPhone heats up and stops with a wifi error. The app should remember my selections and it's progress at this point but it doesn't. (I know about the setting to keep selections but it needs to pick up where it left off). It would be nice to be able to choose a destination album on the target device. It's a nice app to use and it preserves the quality of videos & photos but the non-recovery from the wifi error is a show-stopper - literally.

This app shouldn’t need to exist but it does and it’s spectacular. Apple could have made this job really easy by enumerating a phone as a mass storage device, plug in via USB and drag-drop or run a shell script to sync your photos. Nope. It’s not the “Apple way” and if you’re running Linux you can forget running iTunes. Photo sync bridges the gap admirably. It’s slower than USB (ok on 5.8GHz wifi) but works so easily that makes up for it. Works with SMB servers. Generates a custom folder layout on the target so your photos stay properly sorted. Brilliant job.

Essential App (iOS 16 has introduced an issue). Fantastic app, everyone in family has it & uses it almost every day to swap photos & videos between Apple & non Apple devices. NOTE: after iOS 16 update a bug appeared where folders created on my PC during transfer did not include my iPhone device name, instead just said iPhone! I contacted developer via on app support & received answer within hours. Apple have now restricted device name usage in apps due to privacy. Dev outlined alternative solution (below) which works perfectly. Great support. As a workaround you can define a custom subdirectory format: To do that open the PhotoSync settings, tap „Configure“ and then „Computer“. Now tap „Create Subdirectories“ and then scroll to the bottom and tap „Add custom format“. Now enter /%AP as value (without <> characters). Then go back and select/activate the custom format at the very bottom.

Really, really impressed. From it's description it seemed to do what I wanted - transfer photos from the iPhone to iPhoto. Not only does it do that quickly and efficiently, it also does video and makes the process simple and it just works. This app is undoubtedly my surprise favourite of 2012 - and I've tried heaps of apps this year! You will not regret getting this app.

Perfect for iPhone. After trying to transfer pics the old cable way it never worked properly, I tried Bluetooth, I tried other apps till I came across this one it’s so quick and easy love it 10/10 😀

Exactly what I need.. but.... I don’t rent my apps, I’ll buy my apps outright. This app is exactly what I need, but you’ll never catch me subscribing to it. Back to NextCloud it is..

Buggy. I wish it worked. I really tried... plus rude customer service. But trying again...

One of the best apps I own. This a a truely excellent utility. The developer has clearly run up against some of iOS’ limitations and set about building a flexible and highly configurable tool. 5+

Works perfectly!. Effortless to use! I use it frequently to backup iPhone photos to my computer.

Best of Type. I have been using PhotoSync for years now and it gets better all the time. Amazing number of connection types. Support when I needed it in the past was excellent. When reinstalling on a new iPad from an iTunes backup it needs to have the connections deleted and re-installed for them to work but this is a minor hassle for such an awesome tool, which I can use anywhere on the planet back to my personal servers and more.

Easy as. Just purchased and used it. It is just so easy to transfer files and keeps all the meta data true and correct

So easy to use!. Fabulous App! So easy to transfer photos and Albums from my mobile devices to my PC - VERY Happy Customer here 😊

Apple could learn from this company. I searched for days to find a way to transfer original file sizes after manipulating them on Snapseed. Every time I exported the files using Apples own Photo camera roll/album library the file size would be reduced greatly. For example an original 5mb file would be down sized to 200kb after pushing the images via Apples own Photos library. Then I stumbled across Photosync. I emailed the good people at Photosync directly and told them my problem and asked would their app help solve my problem Within 15 minutes I had a reply. They didn't promise it would fix it but said that if it didn't they would refund my money. Turns out it was the best $2 I have ever spent. I could do everything via Photosync. I didn't have to open up Apples poor excuse for a high tech library anymore. So after manipulating them in Snapseed I simply synced the files to my Mac home computer Via Photosync and I ended up with full resolution files sitting on my Mac home computer that had been manipulated in Snapseed. Throughout my process I emailed Hendrik from Photosync and each time he replied. Within 15 minutes. Now that is what I call service. Thank you to everyone at Photosync involved in creating a fantastic application. I can now add the iPad as part of a serious work flow in my photography business. Cheers, Ben

Mr. Best app when you don't have a cable handy

Best IPhone data transfer app. I tried so many different apps and online tools to transfer my iPhone pics and videos to my MacBook. I couldn’t find anything like this app and always got error back .I came across this app. I thought it might wont work as well but i was shocked after seen the performance of this app. It transfer files super fast . App transfered mine around 4000 files in almost 1 hour. I am so happy . I have been looking something like this app from last few months to transfer my data. Good on you app creator 👍👍👍

Crashed my phone twice. Try to use the app, connected to NAS ok, tested transfer ok, but then iPhone crashes and rebooted. Happened few monuments later so deleted the app.

Does the job well. Excellent app. I have used this app for a long time and yes it has had some bugs but they always seem to be sorted out and I assume with new versions of iOS then there would have to be updates to make it compatible. I have read the previous reviews and agree that it is a great app. I have tried it using Google Drive, Microsoft One Drive etc and it works. I've given it 5 stars on those grounds. I have recommended it to others who have reported being very happy with easy and performance.

Photo sync. Easy to use

Excellent. Very handy and reliable way to transfer photos to cloud via various protocols. Only limited by upload speed of connection whether mobile or wifi. Works well on either but bandwidth makes big transfers somewhat impractical for big raw files. Nonetheless a great app for travelling and backup to cloud facilities (not just Apple or Dropbox either)

Too slow to be if any use. This app is worthless it is far too slow syncing, takes 45 seconds to sync every photo (no other app has this issue) and videos time out syncing every time. I would refund it if I could but can’t with apples questionably legal no refund App Store policy

Doesn’t work as promised, tech support don’t respond. “Background” transfer is a joke. Times out after 2.5 minutes. You need to bring app to foreground to keep transferring files. Not good when you have hundreds or thousands of photos & videos. Lots of complaints on forums. Standard answer is to blame Apple, which is patent nonsense as competing products (eg OneDrive) work fine (they just register the app differently, and this allows them to run indefinitely in the background)!! App calls OneDrive “Skydrive” which is about 4 years out of date. SDK out of date much? Messages to tech support never answered. Don’t trust these guys. I want a refund.

Photo Sync. Great app!!

Lowers photo quality. Warning: You have to pay to be allowed to sync full size photos

Ok but keeps crashing g. Crashes if I transfer more than 30 photos at a time

Great app. Works wonderfully and exactly how it’s advertised. I uploaded over 10K of pictures to OneDrive with ease.

Great App!. I have used Photosync for years and every release it gets better. The Pros for me are the ability to organise the backup of my photos and videos to a central place (in my case Microsoft's OneDrive) and also backup the photos that have already been edited on the iOS device. Currently iCloud and even the OneDrive app backup the original photo not the edited version. Photosync sorts this with a simple configuration switch. Yes! I also like the press and hold feature to select the default backup method automatically. It is now easy for the entire family to know their photos and videos are stored safely in the cloud. Thanks to the team behind Photosync.

Best ever PhotoSync software I’ve found. I’ve been using PhoyoSync to clear up the space in phone by backing up the photos to my home server since a few years now. It’s the tipping point which felt I must write a review by the recent great support experience I had with their staff. PhotoSync helps our albums to be sorted allowing re-visits to the past memories with least effort. The file naming capabilities, a variety of connectivity to local and remote storages backed up by a steady software has helped the whole experience smooth and friendly. If you are one of those who loves keeping photos and videos well organised and backed up, you’re in the same requirement set as me and I could highly recommend PhotoSync as a great tooling for that.

Missing feature. Why can't we see more details on each photo, like the date at least? 1. Switching to thumbnail view does not help me as I loose my selection. It would be better to be able to somehow get the date&time when long tapping on the photo then either have it on viewing the photo, or even another screen I'll wait for next version. Moments view doesn't show enough photos on 1 screen. Can we set how many are shown like Apple's photos app?

Works a treat. I've been using this for about four years now and it still works great. Keep it coming!

Great. Works awesome!

Indispensable.. I love this app. Without having icloud automatically sync all my photos to all my devices which can often be a pain I simply choose what photos to transfer between devices (phone, iPad etc. .. Not just mine but other people's as well) including from and to computers. Singles or multiples. Dead easy, super fast and 100% reliable. Been using it for years. Perfectly designed for what it does so well. Gotta try it.

Easy as. Since I downloaded the Photsync app I have had no problem with transferring photos from my phone (iPhone) to either my computer or my Samsung tablet.

Excellent recommend to all. Easy to use. Love the reduction of size. The best. Thanks

Always works. Best way to transfer photos on windows pc.. I have used this app for years because I never know where or what quality the photos in iCloud or my iphone are and if I have them all. Simple interface. No doubt if a file has transferred and then can be stored how you want on your pc.

Rich features but deadly bug kills it!. I used it to test transferring Live Photos (an image file + MOV file). Initially the mov file won’t play on windows machine because codec problem, this is not PhotoSync problem. HOWEVER, if you want to save the hassle by enabling the HEVC H.256 convert option inside the configure, it will upload a zero byte MOV file instead of the actual file. So if you solely depend on it to do your backup, you could lose all your LP MOV recordings!!!

Best app!. Was originally skeptics that it would transfer my photos and videos in full quality as described and so effortlessly as promised - but it does! Love how I can set it up on my Mac and have it transfer automatically every night so long as my laptop and phone are charging and on the same wifi. Saves me tonnes of money on iCloud storage as I can put them all on my Mac and back up to a HDD. Would recommend!

AWESOME. Best video And photo transfer app!!! Highly recommend it :)

The only way to do photo transfer. I struggled for so long trying to copy photos to windows using usb and constantly had into disconnection issues. This app makes it so easy to copy photos both to the computer and back to my iPhone. This app is an absolute must-have, completely worth the purchase.

Doesn’t really transfer photos.... A little misleading. When you read the fine print, it tells you the free version is a limited-features trial version. It doesn’t really transfer photo files, just low-res copies of the photos. A disappointing waste of time.

Great App. Love this App… no longer using iCloud and using this App exclusively!

Wifi Disconnects. If wifi disconnects during SMB transfer give an option to retry the ones that failed. Now I have to reupload 14000 photos again

Absolutely junk. Paid for lifetime membership thats useless. This app is more advertising than app. Stay away. Junk. And now have the developer trying to manipulate this review by sending multiple emails.

Fails to download all and confirmation messages aren’t helpful. Paid the $9 for pro because I want the full resolution downloads to my PC. I have about 2500 photos/videos. App seems to be downloading everything but then I get a list of failures. Some say file not found, some say disk space is low —- which disk? The target disk has 1 free gig. After that, no other confirmations … I have no clue how many of the total downloaded because there is no indication which files were successful, no stats summary. When you restart the app it starts all over — you can download everything or just ‘recents’. Well I don’t have anything new in the last 5 minutes but it shows I have 919 new files to download. I want to backup my files and be assured that everything is saved. This app seems to back stuff up but I don’t know if everything is done. Disappointing.

Bar none, the best photo transfer App alive. Have had this app for ages, and my appreciation of it grows year after year. The flexibility of what this app does for you is amazing and down to earth made simple

Useful but charged twice. I purchased PhotoSync pro lifetime once for $6.99 and it seemed to work reasonably well. I few weeks later I tried to use it again to transfer photos however in order to transfer photos at full resolution it said I will need to pay again. Why? In addition the 2nd purchase is for a subscription which I also do not want or need. It’s very misleading to first sell something as “pro lifetime” and then remove necessary features that force another purchase.

Photosync. Often when i transfer photos taken on my ipad to my W10 pc i get a notice on my iPad that PhotoSync is searching for a connection to my pc, can't find one and so i should connect my iPad to a receiver. Sometimes the transfer occurs in a few seconds. The iPad and the PC area right beside one another and for all other connective jobs there is never ever that syncing prblm So... i never know if my PhotoSync will work or not. I also notice that VERY often once i have used PhotoSync and ask it to sync again, like if i forgot a photo... it won't and instead says, Searching for a connection and there isn't one. So... what's up with that i wonder? Thanks

PhotoSync. Best app ever. Using it every day between my apple devices 😁

The best of many. I am amazed with the number of features, reliability, flexibility of the app and also great and fast support from the team! This is exemplary well-made software!

Awesome, configurable and reliable. Great app that just works.

Pas toujours. Parfois il fonctionne bien Parfois très mal Pourtant dans les mêmes conditions

Unreal. So I had 30000 photos uploaded, then this app decides it wants to update. Now instead of letting me just upload recent photos, its making me upload all 30000. I do not want to lose my photos but I am stuck on an LTE Data connection and spend hundreds extra on charges last month uploading. Im speechless, what a waste of money because I even upgraded. Don’t upgrade and dont pay for this crap.

Excellent!. Very useful utility! I use it all the time to transfer pictures and video between iOS and windows 7 and 10. It just works. Regular updates, highly recommended!

Convert photo to JPG even I don't want conversion. Tried to backup photos to my wd nas storage. It convert photos from HEIC to JPG while transferring to NAS. I checked all options but nothing works. Eating up my space of NAS.

Amazing App. Have the app on both my phone and my wife’s phone to backup photos to my NAS box. Works great.

Superbe application!. Très efficace pour transférer les photos vers le iPad ou le PC! D’une simplicité déconcertante, mais tellement efficace pour transférer vos photos et vidéos d’un appareil à un autre. Il faut seulement que les appareils soient sur le même réseau wifi. Bravo

Phenomenal app!!!. Well done. Works great. Love it. Highly recommended. I went ahead and purchased at lifetime subscription to their premium content. Solid app.

Autotransfer doesn’t seem to be starting. Autotransfer does not seem to be kicking off at all when set to charging and a specific time. Will be asking for a refund on pro subscription as feature seems to be very broken. Thinking it’s a recent change to IOS 15

Can’t transfer to/from major cloud providers with the Pro version. I have the Pro version and when I start a transfer, I can’t see any cloud provider except those that need Premium. I connected my OneDrive and Google Drive accounts but they stay greyed out in the configuration panel and cannot be used to transfer to/from. 😕

By far the BEST. Don’t try another app to transfer your photos and videos to your PC.

Wow, so easy, fast and efficient!. I am very impressed with this App.

Live Photos upload via WebDAV not working. Tried for a few hours to upload to my server using WebDAV but can’t get Live Photos to work. Setting is checked off but the video of the live doesn’t seem to work it’s just an empty .mov file. I give up and will not be purchasing it after the trial.

App is great, Support is better.. How nice is it to have an app that is supported by a company that is fast to reply and resolve issues? I had a license issue after an upgrade and within an hour, which included some back and forth with emails, it was fixed. Great work.

Loved it since the first transfer. I love that you can sync cross platform. Easy as a breeze.

One of the most used app. This tool is amazing for quickly transferring media files between devices. No more USB stick! Thank you!

Fantastic. I use it all the time for transferring my RAW/TIFF digital camera files to my phone. Works well & haven't ran into any problems at all.

Don’t bother. You have to pay to send photos in full quality, so the free version is a waste

Needs update and has needed for a long time now. App is no longer properly detecting which photos haven’t already been synced. Please fix.

AWESOME!. I've been using PhotoSync since it's introduction...flawless & so simple to use! Thank you for offering such a useful app! Jerry

Waste of time. Stupid app,, doesnt hide recent even if turned off.

Yes!. We use this app daily between our staff phones and main computer. Incredibly fast and convenient between all our devices.

Amazing for transferring photos from iPhone to desktop!. I had to transfer 500+ photos from an album on my phone to my computer, and this app not only made it so easy and quick, but also converted HEIC photos to JPEG which was so helpful! Highly recommend!

Convivial. Ultra facile d’usage

Horrible speed. The app downloaded about 500 photos very quickly and then slowed to a painfully slow pace of about one photo a minute. A waste of time and money. And yes, my internet speed is very good.

GREAT APP AND WONDERFUL ASSISTANCE & SUPPORT. I turned to Photosync after being overly disappointed by Camera Bits and their resistance in developing Photomechanic for iPad. I tried Photosync. The app works flawlessly and Mr. Henrik Holtman helped me set up all the settings to create a workflow suitable for my needs. I am a photojournalist. I need to file quick and preserve the metadata/captions of each image. This seems obvious to many. However, I gave many other apps a shot and all of them created an array of problems with the FTP transfers. Furthermore, their technical support did not seem to understand the requirements of us photojournalists. Photosync and Henrik, instead got it done and took good care of all the details I was pointing out, through an impeccable technical support. Thank You all from the bottom of my heart! Giovanni

Super responsive support. I had some issues with the app not accessing the photos on my device. Wrote to them and received an instant response and a solution. Great job guys.

Not good anymore. Recently, they change the app, so you can no longer send your photos in high-quality. You have to pay even more than the original purchase price of this app. they’ve had added a lifetime charge or a monthly charge. or you can only send your photos in low quality.

A must have!. This app is a must have to keep your pictures safe! All my pictures are sync automatically in my NAS when I get back home based on location. GREAT feature. And many target repositories supported.

SMB transfer from iphoneXR. successfully transferred to WD Passport Wireless Pro using SMB transfer. Great

Autotransfer is not reliable. Sometimes it works, mostly doesn't. I have a schedule to auto transfer all the new pictures to google drive ever night at 11 PM. But mostly it doesn't trigger even though I have the power cable connected. Not sure why I am paying premium if it doesn't work.

When it works it’s great….. I’ve used this app on and off for a few years and now for some reason it never finds my computer. Yes I’m on the same network as my phone and the most up to date app is open on my computer.. when it works this is great, when it doesn’t it’s super frustrating

It works!. This is the only app that was able to transfer my entire photo collection, with over 70,000 images and videos, to my MacBook!

The Best Thing since Sliced Bread. As a photographer this software works flawlessly in transferring photos from phone to laptop and vice versa

Low bitrate for videos. Transferring photos and videos is very easy using this app, but the video quality is downgraded. The resolution remains true to the original video, but the bitrate is less than half, reducing the quality of the image. For most applications, I’m sure this would be fine, but I paid for this app to transfer pictures of my son… the colours in the transferred video were noticeably downgraded, making my son look like a ghost. The advertised “high quality video” was slightly misleading, in my opinion.

The best sync apo. It supports live photos and most custom backends. The price is maybe a bit steep for the top tier but it's worth it and it works really well.

Wow!!!. Thanks, photosync is great and so user friendly. I really struggled transferring photos until I found your app. I love it.

Zoom function would be good. Tool works fine between two mobiles, but not that good with PC/mobile, would be good to zoom in the pictures

A must have for photo management. I’m my family’s designated photo archivist, and use photos to document much of my professional work as well. PhotoSync makes transferring files between devices simple and quick, and — unlike many other apps or programs — PhotoSync retains each image’s info.

Not so simple to use the app. I really had a high hope for this app. I thought it will make transferring the photos from my phone to my computer into a specific folder faster and easier than using the cables. Unfortunately on spending as much time as with the cables. You also have to be close to the laptop with open the app to be able move the pictures. I figured out a few ways to do it but takes still time and sitting by.

Invaluable. This is an amazing app with all the features I want. The value it delivers is way beyond the price they charge. I use this app to sync our entire family’s cellphone videos and photos to our Windows home storage server. For our scenario (Windows SMB), you do have to know the basics of Windows fileshare permissions. Especially if you want each family member to have their own account. But if you can manage to get past this initial hurdle, the app is awesome. My only suggestion to the developer is that the SMB error codes should be a lot more descriptive. That would make the initial setup easier.

Fantastic app and amazing support. This app makes it easy to backup my photos to my NAS rather than the cloud. I’ve had to contact support twice over the last 2 years or so. Both times I’ve received a fast and knowledgeable response which has solved my problem

It sort of works. The transfer speed is decent. However, when I uploaded roughly 100 pictures and videos from my iPhone XS, I had to restart the process at least a dozen times. Also, there might be a “select all” to upload your pictures, but I couldn’t find it, so I had to tap on each individual picture or video to upload.

Video syncs but won’t play. This app works fine for still pics but buggy in videos. When U sync your vids, they only play audio. No video. Not recognized by windows media player, QuickTime, or other apps that read .mov formats. If you USB-attach your iphone and manually copy those same vids, they play fine on the same PC. So I would say this app definitely needs some work for what we’re paying for here. You’ll be very disappointed if u lose those vids of your kids and can’t recover them because of a software glitch.

Good but has a flaw. The PhotoSync service on my PC times out and stops working after some amount of time. The service has to be restarted manually before photos can be transferred. This is annoying. There is a PhotoSync menu selection to “restart the service,” so PhotoSync must know about this issue.

Love this app. Very happy with this app. Apple keeps taking away capabilities like syncing photos and videos with every “update”. Their solution is for us to pay to subscribe to cloud storage services. This app allows syncing photos and videos from pc to iPhone easily. I highly recommend it.

PhotoSync Review. I am very impressed with the speed at which it copies files. I had over 10,000 files to copy and it completed in under an hour. Also the utility copies the file creation date which is something most utilities are lacking. It is simple to use and met all my needs. Thank you

Missing presets. A few things Chief request: add presets. I need to modify the song based on What/why I’m transferring not based on what kind of device. I’d love to set up the out for different computer presets based on which computer and the needs of the transfer (originals and edits or converted to jpg for example) Works well for transferring images to and from. I notice transferring files back onto the phone the iphone no longer recognizes Live Photos or portrait photos for editing. The ‘new’ selection seems to be based on what has passed through photo synch, so if your trying to synch to multiple locations you have to keep track of things a different way. (Vs checking and comparing to the target)

Set and forget and send.. Still the champ. Taking pix in and around the house for inventory. Sends them to a changeable folder location on the Mac. It moves full Rez jpgs swiftly. Works all over the place. iOS to MacOS and reverse. If iOS devices are plugged in, often easier to use Mac resident app, Image Capture. It moves pix to the computer but , this app permits a great back and forth communication. Top of the heap, as far as I can see.

Very impressed with this app and companion app. This app has taken what was a painful process of moving pics from iPhone to PC to something incredibly easy and error free. There is a small annual charge for Premium version but considering the time I was spending trying to move files in other ways... it was well worth it!

Omg - so needed. This is one of my favorite apps. As a photographer I’ve been trying to get years of original photo files out of my iCloud account for as long as I can remember. Apple provides no good way to do it. This app is amazing and there are so many copy targets, including SMB and AWS S3. And not only is it functional, but the GUI was well thought out as well. Kudos to the developers.

transferring photos is so easy!!. love how quickly I can share pics between my devices -- my laptop can't use the cloud, and really like to have part of my photos on that device ---------------- Now 2019. Still my go to app for transferring pics from my phone to my laptop. Can access iCloud now, but prefer PhotoSync.

Best way to get pics and videos off your device.. I bought this app years ago and still rely on it every day. Best money I’ve spent on an app doesn't understand this simple and effective app. I have 4 devices all syncing to my home PC (or Skydrive when we're on vacation) and even my 9yo can do it with no issues.

Not working lately. I’ve used this app for some time, never had an issue. But lately when I go into instagram to post a photo, it’s not showing up in my camera roll. I look in my photos on my phone to make sure it’s been transferred and the images are there lately they sometimes show up and then only 1 image will show instead of 4. Not sure what is going on.

An amazing app. There are few utility apps that work as well as this one. Being able to wirelessly move hundreds of gigabytes of photos from my iPhone to Dropbox and my computer is a really helpful app. On top of that the provide great support and engagement with their users. Looking forward to their future efforts.

reliable app to transfer between all devices. i’ve loved this app for over a year. it works so good that it should be built into ios and itunes. until this app, it was a nightmare transferring video between my pc & various iDevices (airdrop is slow and occasionally creates huge un-transferred file caches that can’t be deleted unless you FACTORY RESET your phone 😬) as an existing customer, i was initially concerned that the changes in 4.0 would make the quality drop unless i upgraded to pro. this was my misunderstanding. i’m grateful that they upgraded existing customers to the ‘new pro level’ by default

Coverts HEIC to JPEG!!!. I have had this app for a long time but just got a new iPhone that was defaulted to take pictures as HEIC file! I love that this app automatically converts HEIC to JPEG and transfers these pictures to my computer. It also keeps track and only transfers the new pictures I took! My pictures are always backed up to date! I am so happy with this app!

This is quite possibly best app ever. This app is so powerful and helpful for getting all my thousands of kid photos off my phone and onto my NAS (Synology Diskstation). Whenever my phone or my wife’s phone is running low, hit the sync button and we’re back in business. I also have my nas backing up to backblaze for a few bucks a month, just in case.

Great App. Highly recommend.. I’ve had this app for a while now and still love it! Since my Eye-Fi app that I used for years quit working, I needed a way to wirelessly back up my pictures and automatically create folders in very specific folders. This app does it and better than Eye-fi. I had a couple of questions and developer always emailed back with lots of helpful information.

Significantly improved BUT…. This app has come a long way since I first reviewed it. Marked improvements all around, including background upload (uninterrupted), faster photo upload. However, when uploading videos it goes through a “compressing video” stage before each video and it is wasting time. Just dump the videos as they are onto my FTP server and stop trying to save bandwidth or whatever you’re doing by compressing each video. Thanks

Unclear that ad-supported version doesn’t transfer full size photos. You know, I pay for apps; I do. With actual cash. And of course I pay for them with my attention to crappy ads as well. So just TELL ME CLEARLY not only what the premium features are but what the ad-supported version of an app *doesn’t* do. I spent the time to download this app to two devices — thinking I’d checked the answer to this question, since the app info text says photos are transferred with “full resolution.” Well...then what, exactly, is the premium app doing? I mean, resolution for digital images essentially equals size. Sigh.

Long time user, can’t live without. I’ve been using this app for a really long time, at least since 2014. I use it all the time, the fastest way to universally send photos to other devices. While AirDrop is nice, I end up using this a lot as it works for more than just Apple devices.

Now I can fully have 3-2-1 photo backup strategy. This app is fantastic, full of features and works like a charm. The auto transfer feature is gold! I wanted an app that allowed me to save my photos on a local backup disk (Synology NAS), I love iCloud Photos but I wanted a local copy and full control of my photos. This app allows me to do this!

Can’t recommend this app enough. Such a comprehensive photo and video backup application. It is well worth the money. Just get this app and you will thank me later. It has great features to give you that peace of mind knowing your private intimate photos are backed up and not sitting in some google photos being combed for information.

Great customer service. I am not a techie, but I love taking LOTS of pictures. And I want a reliable, easy way to back them up to my PC for various uses. This app was recommended to me by a family member. It wasn’t super intuitive for me to set up, but the customer service via email got me going Once I got a new PC I needed help again, and the customer service support came through for me once again. One small setting change, and all is working great. I just transferred over 1700 photos from my phone to my PC wirelessly in a matter of minutes! I am happy to recommend this to anyone.

Use it every single day. I used this application every single day to transfer files to my other devices, But now it doesn't hardly ever find the other devices anymore. Gone from the best photo and video transfer app to useless piece of crap

Must have for syncing photos. This is by far the best photo sync app for iOS devices. Premium is very much worth it for all the extra features. We have been using this for over two years, and will keep using it for years to come.

Great app, respectful developers. I became a premium member an idea for a feature, emailed them and within a few hours someone from their team messaged me back going into depth about the specific feature as they understood it, and treated the request with respect. I will happily support this app and the developers!

Poor SMB implementation. I purchased this app to be able to sync photos using windows share and network drive (SMB). But it cannot be done this way, I have to use the companion software on Windows or use other protocols like FTP or WebDAV which are not as convenient as SMB especially if you have a lot of folders in your home network. I don't recommend this app if you rely on SMB for syncing, or don’t like to download 3rd party software for something that doesn’t need to have one.

Outstanding tool. I use this app to transfer photos/videos to and from my Linux devices over samba. I especially appreciate the ability to create albums on import. Overall, it’s a well thought app and absolutely worth purchasing.

Works again. After rebooting my iPad twice this newest version is suddenly working again so changing review. It’s no longer locked me out and requesting repurchase and fees just to do what it always did before. Not sure what happened after I initially updated to this latest version, but it’s fine again.

fabulous. I don't know what I would do without it. This is what they said fabulous I don’t know what I would do without it but it is actually accurate for me I’ll use this app again and again and again it is smooth is fast it is fabulous it really is

Great App! Wish I had found out sooner. This app does a fantastic job of syncing all my pictures and videos to my home file server. When I contacted support about a small issue, they responded quickly and helped me fix the problem even on a Saturday. Great app, really wish I found it sooner.

Where is PhotoSync Camera?. I payed the premium option. Where can I find the integrated PhotoSync Camera? [2nd] I received the answer for finding the PhotoSync Camera. As the developer said, some people can think my question is not a review. But I asked the question to want to know the location of the button and to let them know that it’s hard to find the feature. I think the access to that Camera function will be easier.

I love it. PhotoSync has so many customizable features you can do pretty much anything you want. I have been using it for at least a couple years and every time I need to sync my photos a different there is always a feature that makes it work. Great app!

Great App for Transferring/Renaming Photos. This is a great app for transferring and renaming photos automatically. As a contractor I take hundreds of photos a week, and needed a way to transfer those photos seamlessly to my job folders. The renaming convention is powerful and took a while to grasp. The programmer answered my questions quickly and thoroughly.

Used to work great. SMB totally broken. Useless support. App was great for a long time then one day it stopped working. I reached out to their support and their slow responses provided no help whatsoever. I eventually figured out the issue by myself. Their support left me dead in the water for over a month. Updating based on the dev’s response: I sent multiple reminders to reply to me. I also provided details about my issue including specifics on how I have it configured. Their support still went silent after a few emails.

Still using it!. Posted a while back and just wanted to follow up. Photo sync is still part of my workflow for A/V. It's just always there, helping me transfer files back-and-forth between devices. It's dependable like getting electricity from the wall sockets in my office, i.e., I just call up the app and use it. Would be very frustrated without it!

The best way to back things up (and restore them). We’ve been backing up our pictures and movies with this for years. It works incredibly well and has many features you would not expect - HEIC -> JPG, auto transfer with custom naming, geofenced backups, it’s got it all. We use FTP because we only backup from home but so great it has SFTP too!

The best and only solution for backup photos with full data. This is the only app that can completely backup the all the data of the cinematic mode videos and portrait mode photos from the iOS devices to the PC/NAS.

Teaching old dogs new tricks!. For those less tech savvy -like me: If you have a pc, you must first download PhotoSync Companion. (Just google it. It's a free download.) With the Companion I could easily click-and-drag pictures from my pc folders to my iPad. Fast! Easy! Awesome! You might have to disable your firewall for incoming photos.

So very user friendly!. I love how easy it is to send pictures from my phone or iPad to my computer! I especially love that I can also send from my computer to my iPad or phone to scrapbook my pictures. It makes my hobby so easy!

Needs better error logs. I’m getting an error and I have no idea what the problem is. I have updated firewall rules, manually set IP addresses, and even tried reinstall the app. All I get when I try to use the companion app method on windows is an error that says PhotoSync starting transfer followed by an “error in photosync companion” message saying it finished transfer, but no files appear. It’s very likely an issue on my end…but without better error messages I have no way of knowing what’s going on.

This is THE app to backup photos to external storage. Cons: - The interface feels primitive compared to the latest generation of iOS apps - Encountered some hiccups when doing an initial transfer of 7k items. Had to repeat the transfer multiple times to get all files over. At the moment there is a single file that doesn’t transfer, not sure how to troubleshoot. Pros: - Downloads the photos from iCloud and transfers to my NAS via Samba. Very fast. - I can automate transfers with the “Autotransfer” feature - The app appears to continue running in the background flawlessly - Knowledgebase/documentation is available on the author’s website

App worthy of 5 stars. This is the first review Ive ever written on an App. this app worked FLAWLESSLY to transfer photos from my phone to my pc. The app was able to transfer just under 2000 photos in about 10 minutes. I applaud the developers. However I must note I have no idea if my pics are being sent elsewhere. Remain suspicious always.

Works perfectly. This app works perfectly with phone to phone, phone to computer and phone to NAS photo transfer. I had an issue previously. But the seller quickly responded with a setting change suggestion and that solved the issue. Nice job and thanks!

Does everything. I spent hours each month sorting pictures from iPhoto shared pictures and our iPhones/iPads. The worst was removing duplicates and writing a batch script to rename the files with dates. This simplified everything and I can do a simple upload once a month. Great product!

Great app. This app exceeds my expectations. I wanted to easily transfer my iCloud photo albums to my computer without having to select each photo. I can now transfer an entire album and the app creates a folder on my computer for that album. Makes up for iCloud’s limitations.

PhotoSync – transfer photos App Customer Service, Editor Notes:

- New: For services with mulitple configurations (e.g. SMB, FTP, S3) the order of the configurations can now be changed - New: When uploading to S3 & Wasabi PhotoSync now sets the "X-Amz-Meta-Mtime" header to the recording date of the photo & video. This header can also be interpreted by many 3rd party applications. When enabling the new option "Query Recording date" PhotoSync will use this information to enable sorting by recording date when browsing photos & videos on S3 & Wasabi. Note: Enabling this option may slow down performance as it requires an additional query for each photo/video. - New: When uploading to Backblaze, PhotoSync now sets the "X-Bz-Info-src_last_modified_millis" to the recording date of the photo & videos. This information is now also used when browsing Backblaze in PhotoSync, allowing sorting by recording date. - Fixed: Issues with encrypted video uploads to S3, Wasabi and Backblaze. We recommend re-uploading these videos to an encrypted S3, Wasabi or Backblaze destination. - Fixed: Wrong extension for XMP sidecar files, when "Keep original names" was enabled in "Expert Settings" - Fixed: Videos were not recorded for more than 12 seconds in some cases when using the PhotoSync camera - Fixed: PhotoSync now ignores when a USB or Wi-Fi camera disconnects (or goes to sleep) while a transfer is in progress - Fixed: Transfers to SMB could result in error 22 in rare cases (e.g. when the target volume is exFAT formatted and mounted with fuse) - Improved thumbnail loading performance for S3 based services New in Version 4.8 ------------------- - New: Client-Side Encryption (Premium) Encrypt photos & videos before transfer and store them encrypted on NAS and file-based cloud services. Browse and view encrypted photos & videos directly in PhotoSync. Rclone and OpenSSL are supported, enabling easy workflow integration and seamless decryption on PC and Mac. - New: Improved metadata support Embedding metadata is now supported without re-encoding for most file types. PhotoSync can now also embed modified recording dates and tag photos / videos based on user album name, Moments / location name or media type. - New: XMP support XMP sidecar files containing all metadata information can now be transferred. This feature is optimal for integration into professional workflows. Configurable options: XMP files are always transferred; only for photos with edited metadata; only for RAW files with edited metadata; or never. - New: "Display" option to detect modified / edited photos & videos as new: If you edit a photo or video after it has been transferred, PhotoSync will detect the photos / videos as new and the edited version will be re-transferred. This setting can be enabled under "Display Options" (iOS 16 and later). - New: PhotoSync can now retain the whole album / folder structure when transferring between iOS devices. To enable this feature enable "Keep Album Structure (iOS only)" under Configure->Phone/Tablet. Preserving the favorite status and location info is supported when transferring between iOS devices. - New: The PhotoSync Camera can now embed copyright info - New: Added an option "Set transfer time/date only once" for sub-directory creation. This way only one sub-directory is created for every transfer session. - New: Added a new custom format %SP for custom sub-directory creation based on media type (Live Photo, Screenshots...) - New: Added new custom formats %MOT and %MOL to add the Moments title and Moments location into the file name or sub-directory name - New: Added an option "Assign Live Photo MOV to photo folder" for sub-directory creation. When enabling this option both files of a Live Photo are stored in the photos folder, when the %2P or %3P format is used. - New: Added option "Upload in Chunks" for WebDAV connections. This option is helpful e.g. for WebDAV servers proxied by CloudFare - New: Added host key checks for SFTP connection - New: Added an option to convert ProRes Videos to H264 or HEVC
