No family sharing. Went through process of setting up family sharing. Get message stating that it is no longer shared and family member cannot open the app.

Awesome app, great support. I play keyboards in a rock band, and I tried Set List Maker because of one killer feature: the ability to send MIDI patch changes. Scrambling to configure four different 'boards after each song was stressful, error-prone and killed the pace of the show. Being able to tap a song title and be ready to go redirected the glares away from me and over to the guitar player. :) After using it for a while, I've fallen in love with other features too. The ability to attach a chart to each song is invaluable in rehearsal as well as for reference live. Editing a song's patch changes, notes, chart, etc. affects the song across all of the set lists, so you only have to do it once (for rehearsals I have a special set list containing all of our songs and I work there, and all the other set lists reflect my changes). Being able to enter the duration of each song and have the app tell me how long each set will take is extremely helpful when planning shows. The list goes on and on - this app clearly was designed by someone who gets musicians. And lest I forget, email support is unbelievably responsive and helpful. I don't know if I happened to send in a question at just the right time, but the reply took mere minutes and was right on the money. Don't underestimate how important that is. I would give this app 10 stars if I could. If you're still undecided, I'd encourage you to give it a try; especially if you rely on MIDI.

Love it but, but have a question. What foot pedal Bluetooth is comparable?

Not always intuitive, but does the job. First thing to note is that the developers are very responsive to any issues you have, and the forum is a good source of information. There are so many features on this that it takes some time to figure out, but it does everything I need it to.

Where are instructions?. Seriously, even OnSong has tutorial documentation available.

1000% productivity increase. This app revolutionized my live pianist/vocalist performances. No longer do I lug around several 3-ring binders of music and fumble through pages falling out as I try to find some song. The automated page turner in Perform mode prevents me from ripping out pages on the fly. I have already scanned in almost 400 songs, many of which I haven't played in decades. I can now instantly access any of these songs should I have any requests. I've had this iPad & this app for only 7 months and I am already a much better performer. My lyrics (which I've always had trouble memorizing) and chords are all right there. My live repertoire has and is expanding exponentially. I look forward to using the MIDI functions to sent messages to my digital piano and synth in order to change settings on the fly such as patch, tempo, controller and other messages. That way when I flip to a new song, all instruments and sequences are doing what they are supposed to do. I am still just scratching the surface of where I'm going. This intuitive interface Arlo has developed is just the miracle I needed to advance my musical endeavors. Thank you.

All bands need this!. This is an amazingly genius app. I find myself scrambling to make a set list each night because I usually am concerned with so many other things on show nights, but with this app I can actually have a drink and socialize in between sets. The color labeling option is perfect to help create a set that has diversity that isn't too abrupt. I use faster songs as red, mellow ones as green, and soulful or bluesy songs as purple, giving me the visualization of a spectrum and using that to have better flow each night. All bands should use this, it's lazy and impersonal to play the same set list every night. The app comes with plenty of different ways for you to make notes and reminders for instrument changes, tuning changes, capo positions, lyrics, and anything else you need. It's as complex or as simple as you want it to be. I have rarely written a review for apps nor felt the urge to do so, however this app deserves praise for being such a great idea. Plus when I emailed for suggestions, the creator actually read it...and emailed me back! Download it, and use it!

Good concept, horrible execution. Can’t get updates on our setlist. Synch doesn’t work. It’s fine as a set list and ability to add your notes to individual song, but the promise and the price were for much more than that... save your money. Btw. Looks like earlier versions were actually better. All the good reviews are from 4 yrs back. New reviews are all bad. Update Wow. See the developer’s smug response. Now I really would advise you to save your money and use an alternative.

Great lyric book!. I’ve been a singer for a long time. All different genres and styles. As such I have a boatload of notebooks and 3-ring binders full of song lyrics. This AWESOME app allows me to put all of my lyrics in one place on my iPad. The ease of importing lyrics from the web made it so easy to transfer ALL of my song lyrics to the app. It’s really easy to put lyrics to your own songs in too. I’m involved in a few different projects, and always doing guest spots so I love having the ability to create set lists for each project using the master song list. This is a great app. I no longer have to carry a huge case with books full of lyrics. Worth every penny just for that! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Cool looking but...... Pretty cool app, however it does not allow you to drag and drop songs between sets or to rearrange them. This is shown in their getting started video and was a KEY feature I wanted. Still waiting for support to tell me why this doesn’t work SIGH Update*** Support contacted me and show me how to do this Unfortunately they don’t clearly state how to do this in the instructions However now that I know how to do it this app is great Very cool Just make sure that you follow all the instructions this app has a lot of potential

Not good at all anymore. You have to fix it this is so bad

Midi Bank Storage. I have to be honest; I've never used the app for its intended purpose... but I COULD NOT PLAY MUSIC WITHOUT THIS APP!!! For many years, my rig consisted of a Roland A-37 midi keyboard which controlled two sound modules (Triton-Rack and Roland Fantom XR). The keyboard was very reliable, but died after a decade of service last year. I wanted to replace it, but the world no longer embraces that type of controller. I have an Axiom, but it does not have the same type of patch storage. Enter SETLIST MAKER: Using an iRig Midi interface and my iPhone with Set List Maker, MidiBridge, and FreEWI loaded, I can set up a "set list" that consists of my "go-to" midi patches. The apps and iPhone accessories cost only a fraction of what it would cost to replace my dead keyboard; I can use my existing old school sound modules with literally ANY keyboard that has midi out... depending on the venue, I may not even have to schlep a keyboard to the gig! One of these days, I may actually use this Set List Maker as it was intended. In the meantime, I love its midi capabilities. Very reliable & HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Fantastic little app!. I downloaded the app a few weeks ago, and have been toying with it since, and have to say I find it very well thought out and practical. The rest of the band downloaded it, and we have synced up our devices to always have an updated set list. It's a little confusing at first, but once you designate a band member to keep the master list, it's pretty easy to stay in sync. The developer is very responsive to input (I haven't made any, but reading past reviews, you can see he incorporated suggestions into the next update). Honestly, this is the first app where I thought I'd paid too little. The app itself is a free download, and works outstandingly well for a solo performer. Keep in mind: for free! Only if you want some added functionality do you have to lay down some money, and even that is extremely reasonable. I only needed the syncing functionality, but added the MIDI support in-app purchase as a way to support to developer's efforts. Bottom line: get it, it's free. Don't like it? Make suggestions, and I'd be surprised if they aren't in the next upgrade. Cheers!

I want my money back. In the begging the app was good, now I can not work with it! Why did you change the things they made this app great? How to work now?

Amazing App that Keeps Getting Better!. This app has morphed into a "must have" for my band. All 6 of us use it every week! Arlo has graciously listened to his users and incorporated the most useful and convenient features imaginable. The app allows you to do anything from having a simple, easy to read list of songs, to controlling all your on-stage midi devices (and video)! When I prepare a setlist for our shows (we perform several times per week), I alert the band to download it. I there are any changes, no problem... we can update anytime, even at the gig! The app is set up so you can scroll lyrics (with or without chords), and you can have useful fields visible onscreen that help with program content, count-off hints, time remaining for show, etc. Setlistmaker is even essential for rehearsals. For example, you can attach recordings AND alter their tempo and key so your band can rehearse right along with the song. There is so much customization available it's ridiculous. But it never becomes difficult to manage or understand. Whenever there is a problem (which is rare), Arlo addresses it right away! This app is AMAZING and worth every penny!

Great App - Most used on my iPad. From the custom fields to the smart lists, this App really helps me organize my sets. I can track progress on songs I’m learning, as well as songs already in my rotation. I can quickly finds songs that might go well together in a show(similar BPM, same key, same style, etc…). This App replaced all my spreadsheets I used to have. And they always keep improving and fixing issues fast.

The Solution!. I used to use a spreadsheet to track my bands songs and keep track of my equipment settings, plus I had a stack of flip cards I used for words to songs. Whenever my band changed the setlist (for just about every gig) I had to cut and paste the spreadsheet to manage the setlist, layout my program changes, and resort the word cards. I searched 3 years for a better solution, and with Set List Maker, I finally have it! The app easily allows me to drag and drop songs around for a given show (and keep track of those shows), keeping the settings and words for each song stored with it. When we perform, a touch of the song on my ipad screen changes the settings on all of my equipment (and now my guitar player's, too) and displays the words. Another tap, and it's off on the next song. This app is loaded with useful features I never even thought about before, and the very-supportive developer seems to add more every month! Well worth the price, whether you pay for each set of features as in-app purchase, or just buy it all from the start! I love it!

Great detail-oriented app! A drag when adding songs!. I LOVED this app until I needed to add songs! You need to buy the upgrade that lets you import song titles from a file or playlist, otherwise you need to type your entire setlist one by one. The $0.99 is not the issue, but creating a playlist just to be able to then import it and carry over all song titles is definitely unnecessary work in my opinion. Other apps like GigBook makes that much easier. The way you add shows, etc to the Data base is also a bit of a drag. Again, GigBook makes that so much easier although is much less detail-oriented. I LOVE all the extra features that setlist has... The ability to know the total time for the show is awesome, the label feature, the style, the tempo, etc. Great thinking!!!! AND I also love to be able to LISTEN TO THE TRACK WHILE I'M READING THE LYRICS OR PLAYING THE CHART!!!! One questiong... will you be coming up with a version that would let you upload a lyrics pdf and a Music Chart pdf? Way to go guys! Work on the way you add songs and simplify your platform a bit and I'm your forever! ;) p.s. Checkout GigBook! They actually did a great job in those aspects.

New iPad… no tracks. I have been using this app for almost 10 years. It’s been perfect for all of my shows. Many of them require the use of backing tracks. I got a new iPad, and transferred my database. Everything is there except my tracks and it’s not connecting to my iTunes. I put in a ticket asking for help but haven’t getting any response. I’d hate to buy a new app and start all over but I need to add new songs and tracks.

yes, used to be great. If i can only cleanup my database of mistakes doing batch imports of songs and midi presets, AND copy songs and midi presets between databases (for different bands) I would keep using this. I feel like i deserve these simple features for the money I paid. I am used to selecting multiple things in deleting in almost every computer I use. Pretty simple it seems. But no, still not available despite it being pretty obviously needed by others in the forum. Honestly, NOT to bash, just an honest observation, the developer got greedy, it seems. I have seen logical and reasonable feature requests that got answered with something like, “Sorry not available but if you upgrade to bandhelper...” I have switched to OnSong.

Worst app. I got this app a few years ago and it was the greatest thing to have. Now it’s the worst app to have. I spent a lot for all the upgrades. And the sync is discontinued. Don’t get it unless he fixes it. It should get better not worst.

Used to be great.. Response to developer: Just because you announce something six months in advance does not make it right. You have changed your original product and its functionality (as many have paid for) in order to force people to move to another product with a monthly subscription. It’s wrong. When Bandhelper reaches is it saturation what next? Update: What a scam! Create a great app, get everyone to buy it, and then make it worse so you are pushed to buy his other app with a monthly subscription fee. Guess it wasn’t working that well because now he takes away syncing which is what buyers have already paid for. The price of this app has also gone way up - I’m sure to force you to do the same. I will not buy BAND HELPER for this reason and encourage others to do the same. I will be filing a complaint with Apple. Feels like extortion to me. ————————- This used to be the greatest program - worthy of awards. I have recommended it to many musician friends and colleagues. With the latest major upgrade I now hate it and it seems to be the consensus with those that I have spoken with. The problem with the latest version is that too much time is spent on unnecessary configuration and formatting. That's what programmers are for. The whole look and operation is now uncomfortable. What used to be a no-brainer, simple to use program now requires a learning curve. Not that I can't figure it out, but I find myself spending way too much time trying to configure the software and it takes time away from what it's really all about - the music. I have been using the new version for weeks now and I still get frustrated at every gig. The fact that you need to watch videos to learn it and are instructed to do so speaks volumes. We all finally decided at our last gig to ditch it. What a shame. I will probably still archive my lyrics and music library here but can no longer recommended it for the performing musician. Back to printed set lists for a while. There is a lot here but much is really unnecessary for most performing musicians. Ideally, I would like to see the old version come back and then offer this version for those who have the need, desire and patience to spend the time it takes. I have a lot of respect for Arlo Leach and his programming abilities but this version is more about the programming than the music. As the old saying goes "if it ain't broke don't fix it." I need a Set List Maker!

I’ve been using this app for years. I was afraid that it would no longer be supported, but it’s even getting better. Well worth the money. The sister app “band helper” is also a winner

Update even worse. Update: upon updating the app it’s now officially completely useless. Unbelievable. Whoever developed this trash ought to be ashamed of themselves. Enjoy my five dollars you conned out of me

Not good!!!!. My purpose to purchase this app that I can share my screen/music chart to all musician while playing on stage but the connectivity is really bad. When I open song/chart from the host iPad p, it takes too long to show change on the follower iPads. The test was to put 2 iPads side by side. To test putting away 5-10 ft then we couldn't get the connection at all. If u disregard this feature then I guess you are fine. If I don't need this wireless feature to share screen, then I rather use forScore or NextPage3 app instead

Everything I wanted and more.. This app is extremely customizable, and is feature rich. It does everything I need and quite a bit more. Seems like the complexity may be off putting to some users, but definitely not for me. I really appreciate how much capability this app has, and it was well worth learning how to use the advanced features. One time I found a bug in the app. I opened a help desk ticket and developer was very responsive. They fixed the bug quickly. Very impressed with this app. Keep up the good work!

The best app of its kind available. I used setlists for a long time but it hasn’t been updated in years and gets buggier over time and as OS changes occur so I’ve been searching for an alternative. I tried so many others and none did everything I wanted, or just felt as good as setlists did in its heyday. Having used BandHelper in the past I decided to give this one a go (I rarely need lyrics apps unless it’s a last minute gig or I suddenly have to learn a lot of new songs, otherwise I prefer the more professional approach of knowing the tunes and not having an iPad on stage). This app does everything I need an more and does it elegantly. It just feels great and works. I just input over 100 songs using the built in lyric search and it went smoothly and quickly. Finally, I think I can stop looking for “something better.” To the developer: please a million times, please, never keep this app alive forever! I’m so dependent on it now and I hope I can keep using it for the rest of my life!

Feel cheated. Worked fine, three band members payed fir the upgrade so we could sync songs, only to see that feature removed so we’d be forced to buy his other app. Would be ok if we got a refund, or even a free year on the newer app. No such luck. Stay away from this developer, can’t be relied on.

Really miss the sync. This is still a fantastic app. I really miss the sync feature. I am a solo act with 3 different iOS devices. I wonder if there is a way to sync my devices over Bluetooth. Maybe a future update?

Loving this app. I play i a praise team, and have been using this app for about 2 years now. I love that I can download a song from song select and insert it right into the app. I use pads that I can start from this app... really all around great app. the rest of my time uses the Band App, and love it as well. Argo is awesome when it comes to tech support, top notch in fact!

Wth. I’m very annoyed and upset I spend 15$ on this. It will not allow you to put your own songs Into it which says it’s intended to do so in the app! I’m furious

A must for the performing musician!. Use this on the road and in local gigs with different bands. Don't know what I would do without it!!!

Keeps getting better. This app is pretty amazing! It just keeps getting better. Great job Arlo for making it easier for musicians to create set lists and keep different collections of songs at your fingertips. So many great features in this app. I use this exclusively for set lists now. I am in three different projects and it’s very helpful with different singers, musicians, genres of music, etc. fabulous communication from the developer as well. Very timely and informative. Huge fan!

Love this App!!!. I have been using this app from the very beginning for putting together set lists for my band Night Owls!!! We gig out just about every weekend and this app is a must have for any musician that is playing out every weekend. The features, ease of use, backups and constant updates to better the app is amazing. I highly recommend this app and don’t know what I would do without it!!!

Indispensable professional tool. I’ve been using Set List Maker on my gigs for over 10 years almost on a daily basis. The app is essential to my work as a professional musician. Unlike some apps SLM has never been abandoned by its creator. It’s constantly being developed, new features added, regularly updated. Any problems or suggestions bring immediate attention and fast solution by Arlo and his team. Plenty of helpful information in the tutorials and forum.

Best, most versatile, ink saver yet!. Turned the entire band on to this app, now everyone uses it. Easy to modify and share lists week to week. The added features of lyrics, chord, starting key and notes makes this invaluable.

Terrible. I wanted this to work and I spent a lot of time with it. It’s not intuitive at all. The features have to be implemented from different pages. Ultimately, it just did not work. I got a few replies from tech support that we’re not helpful. Sad.

One of those apps that you wonder how you ever got along without. Obviously, this isn't an app that everyone has a need for. But for those of us who lead bands, it is truly a godsend - the sort of thing that really justifies having an iPad in the first place. In my case, I am an educator directing several different combos and a big band, plus my own personal projects. I use this app to track the pieces we are working on in rehearsal, to help prepare set lists for gigs, and then to act as my set list and metronome (already programmed with the right tempos) at the gig, plus my notes on who solos on what for talking to the audience, and even the charts themselves. I plan to also use this to help me plan the track listing for upcoming CD's, and I'm sure I'll find more uses as well. The developer is extremely responsive about fixing bugs and adding features. So if you see older reviews from people who have had problems, you can absolutely bet those problems have been fixed - assuming they weren't just user error, which a lot of the reports in older reviews sound like to me.

Constantly getting invalid database on transfer. I have the current version but this is more than annoying.

Worked great until latest update. After updating to 6.0 the lyrics and song icon disappeared. I have been using it this way for years. Support says to use show or smart list. I don’t like this view and it’s bulky. I may have to find another program.

Great App. I’ve been using this app for over ten years and I love it. It does exactly what I need and more. Arlo is extremely responsive to technical issues and always has a solution. I don’t understand some of the poor reviews. Yes, this app can be a bit complicated, but that’s only because it’s so flexible and packed with features. Once you understand how to use it you won’t want anything else.

Missing songs…..Found!. Had 400 songs with tabs and recordings. Still have them on my old iPad 4. Just noticed on my iPad Pro 12 that now I have 142 songs. The rest are gone. Shows them in my documents, but they aren’t highlighted. Can’t figure how to get them back. Cut a help desk ticket and immediately was contacted by Arlo Leach who helped me through my issue. He sent me a revised database and all my songs are back. Great customer service! If you are having this issue contact the help desk. They just saved me from having to reload all my songs.

Mark Camacho. There is no other app EVER that I've experienced that has such great tech support than SLM. Arlo's (creator) timely responses to my questions when I'm pinched for time and getting ready for a gig is worth choosing this app over any other. It's ability to custom layouts gives the artist an edge when in front of an audience. I've used the app for about a year now in my vocal gigs and Arlo still continues his same excellent service when I'm in need of an update on how something works OR ready to step it up to the next level and choose to utilize yet another of the many available tools in the app to serve my needs on stage. Arlo is definitely vested in the apps success. His frequent updates help to correct bugs as they arise. And he'll definitely take your feedback and make it work toward your advantage. He makes it happen. Not an "all talk, take your money, then no action" type of guy here!! This review is coming from someone who demands excellent customer service as I expect the same performance from myself as an artist. High standards is what I expect and you'll get it from Arlo as he stands by his product.

New update and we’re back in business. I updated to the latest version on my iPad Pro (iPadOS 15.5) and lost everything—all my songs, all my shows, all my notes. Supposedly the database format was changed. I see no way to update the database in the app. Have a gig in two days; really hope this fixed by then. UPDATE: The developer released a new update to fix the issue I was having. Everything seems to be working again. I don’t use 90% of the features in this app but, for what I use it for, it works.

Great app with extremely good and responsive support. I lead worship using an acoustic guitar or piano and utilize this app in either case, which allows me to keep my hands free to play. This app has many great features; almost too many to list in this review. But even for the basic use of displaying a set list made up of music scores or chord charts entered as PDF or Word documents and being able to turn pages hands free (I connect to my iPad with a dual foot switch via Bluetooth) or move from song to song with a single swipe on an iOS device, this app is worth it. The best part is that the developer will respond to your questions and in my experience, in a very timely fashion. Highly recommended! As suggested above, I am using it on my iPad.

Idiosyncratic but usable app— watch out for downgrades. I really hate it when functionality I depend on is suddenly removed. I was standing on the band stand, having said "sure I can do that tune" but when I go to the songs section my buttons to charts and lyrics are suddenly no where to be found, so then the whole band has to wait for me while I find a work around. This is just poor developer etiquette. Smart lists are not a work around— it means I have to make 5 clicks instead of 3 which is already 2 more than it needs to be. Sometimes I end up needing to get to a chart while the song is underway, so the amount of thinking you have to do to find it can really matter. Can't the last used song database come up as the start page? Also save functionality should really be automatic because that is the norm these days.

Great. I’ve been using this app for 6 years and loved it.

Not very intuitive! Too complicated!. If you’re at a gig you want to call up your set list and your songs quickly you don’t want to be navigating, toying around trying to find out where the hell they are! Worst $15 I ever spent wish I could get my money back! Whoever designed this needs to rethink about the ease of calling up your song at your fingertips fast! Terrible

Don't leave home without it.. Been using SLM for four years and it never lets me down. Great support from the author. I wish all apps had this much quality.

Still works but iOS8 is no fun on iPad2. Hmmm...I've got all my eggs in this app alone for three different bands and my solo stuff. Ever since iOS8, it has become rather finicky and jittery. Sometimes takes several taps to open the documents of a song which is 90% of what I use this app for. After the last gig with nervous near glitchy stability, me thinks it is time to have a back up. The app is great...I am just displeased with with Apple's latest OS.

Love this app. This app lives up to what it says. It is so good I ordered the iPad mic stand attachment so I can use the new Performance Mode on stage. You get the ability to have access to all you charts on stage. Line up changes? No problem just rearrange on the fly. For rehearsal you can have access to your list as well as your charts as well as an mp3 if the band needs a reminder. The developer is very helpful as well. Obviously a great muso app made by a muso. And no I do not know the app developer, I'm just a very satisfied customer. Steven In-Curve Band

Set List Maker. This is a very clever app and when I finally work out what my restriction passcode is I will update. Making a set lists with an inner rythym used to require lots of bits of paper on the floor - now I can mix and match effortlessly - thanks Arlo.

Just the thing you need. This has been a vital part of my toolkit for so long! And it just keeps getting better!

Essential App for musicians. I use this App every weekend. It is easy to use, clear and concise. No messing around, just setup all your song and relevant info, lyrics, tempo and keys. This little baby helps my band stay organised, for me it's a quick easy to use tool that saves time and help maintain professionalism.

Head banging the iPad.. Frustrating to use. Too many factors involved just to put a setlist together. Auto scroll does what it wants. Keep it simple next time! Refund...

Too Hard. There are so many functions that it's a real headache to get things to work. Biggest issue for me is the single chart upload....Who has time to upload charts one at a time? 7/1/17...Thanks for the response, I'll contact you directly. I'm hoping you're not going to say that the iPad needs to be connected to a computer and charts imported through iTunes or something....

The reason I have an iPad. Thankyou Arlo. This app (as you know) has been an amazing tool for me. The best thing about this app is the Arlo is the only person working on the app and when we have ideas or feedback he is the one that receives and replies to the emails. Advanced features becoming available on this app are making it the industry leader of this style technology/application. As a drummer I make use of the bluetooth foot control, midi clock send, and program change sends. Playing 6nights a week in 5star hotels there is no room for error. I have a Yamaha DTX Multi 12 which I run loops and triggers from. With the app and program change abilities by moving to the next song in performance mode my Yamaha changes, the click changes and it all syncs up beautifully. I could not be more impressed by this app. Well done Arlo. I have been spreading the word and I hope the app continues to get the praise it deserves! Cheers Sam

Great app. I am a performing musician and I find this app invaluable - it has a simple, functional and stable interface for my 100+ songs. Easy to see on a dark stage too! The app is also frequently updated. Well done.

Don’t waste your money. If you want an app to manage your song sets, that is easy to use and task appropriate for a gig or just song management, my advice is to look elsewhere. To open or import each song requires a number of clicks, the work flow is cumbersome and impractical. I wasted my money here, and my almost immediate request after purchase for a refund was ignored.

Needs more work. I finally got to use this app last night at a live solo gig and was not thrilled. I discovered that the playback function does not stop after each track but continues onto the next song. However you don't know this because the lyrics don't change. Also, if you have a multi page doc and you are on page 2, you lose the play button on the bottom. The playback button is incredibly small and hard the use. If you zoom in on any lyrics or start flicking back and forth between songs or pages that app will randomly crash. I eventually went back to my laptop for the backing tracks and used this app purely for lyrics, but it still crashed several times which makes it almost worthless in any real world scenario and only good for the practice room where time is not of the essence. Needs more work.

So many features…. This is a fantastic app I have adapted for two ensembles I play with. One a trio using midi files as backing the other a live five piece covers band doing pub and club gigs. The set kist or 'show' feature is just simply great and easy to setup and use. For the trio I initiate play of midi files to another app started in setlistmaker. The rehearsal feature is also very cool. Don't expect too much feedback from support in the midi department as I sorted my own problems failing any useful feedback other than here's my FAQ's by SLM. A very we'll put together and sophisticated app - non the less.

setlist maker. waste of money

Too many errors or crashes.. I like the app. I like what it offers in a live situation. BUT, I find it hard to commit to the learning curve and to using it as my sole Set List maker because it is from time to time broken in one way or another. Please create a stable app first that I can rely on 100%. Then add bells and whistles.

Fantastic App. I really like this app. Definitely helps keeping things organised and great at dealing with vocalists who keep changing the set lists on the fly. I would echo the call for an in-app method of creating charts rather than having to import. Otherwise, really good and easy to use.

Stupid. DiServes no stars it doesn't even open And reviews don't work there just people from apple doing it

Fantastic app for muso’s, vocalists etc... A+. I LOVE this app! And I really only use a fraction of its capabilities. The support and communication from the developers is wonderful. (Should you have any queries, thoughts, ideas or discover any cheeky hiccups) I mainly use set list maker to auto scroll through my lyrics (I’m lazy... and it’s an awesome security blanket) and also create sets for the gig. It has so many other great features including playing audio, midi files etc... Do yourself a favor, download this app, take a short time to set it up to your requirements and presto! Enjoy.

Brilliant App. This app is Gold!!! & should be a must for all performing musicians. Quite simply, the ability to organize and carry all my sets, recordings & charts together in a neat database is priceless!!! I've sampled a few of the other offerings out there with regards to set/chart management software but Set List Maker is the best! The features of Set List are powerful & almost never ending... It has been a joy to keep discovering what the app can actually do. It works intuitively & just gets better with every update, the latest of which (2.3) has basically answered all of my wishes... I look forward to the future releases. Great Work!!!!!

More than meets the eye!. As a working cover band we are forever trying to refine our setup and this app goes a long way to streamlining it. Originally wanting a simple setlist "compiler", we've since found this app to be much more powerful. Syncing our setlist with other band members is fantastic. Arlo has been super responsive to any questions I've had and I highly recommend this app to any musician that wants to streamline their setup.

Great app dude! Needs some bug fixes though. Nice work man, very cool app! Easy to use and allows you to keep all song related info in one place. For a wish list it would be cool to have an inbuilt notepad for lyrics/tabs etc. so you didn't have to import as a file and you had the option to just paste from the web browser. Also add more than one file would be good and assign an icon for each. Love the concept and would appeal to anyone who plays in bands. I will keep sending any bugs through, look forward to updates.

Problematic. Works ok for basic setup of a setlist and sharing via the incorrectly named sync function (in app purchase) Three biggest issues are; 1. The sync is not a sync. Another persons changes are easily over written, which results in regularly having to roll back to get a working version of the setlist. Last in best dressed, not sync. 2. I'm always scared to update, I'm never quite sure what functions might break, and since the other band members might not update we seem to get corruptions all the time. 3. There is no autoscroll for charts. I play an instrument so can't just reach down and tap the screen to change pages... Unless I want to use my nose...

Unstable. After initial excitement I have encountered 2 big problems: Instability - currently refuses to load and open. No assistance on their site either. Secondly, we should be able to bulk download sheet music instead of one by one. Too complex for a simple task. However, lots of potential.

Everything it says. This is a terrific App... I use it in my band and it does everything it says, not like some of the other overpriced rubbish. Its a must have App for any serious Muso.

Life changing App. Now that I have Setlist Maker I feel like I've evolved, This App is fantastic! Not only does it help me to deliver a more polished performance but it has eliminated the need for (very) bulky and awful looking books, full of charts & lyrics etc.. I recently had an issue with some functionality and contacted the developer, even though he was on leave at the time, I got a response within a few hours and the solution was already done. There is obviously a muso behind it because it is perfect for them/us THANKS! Linda PS: I never write reviews but was very motivated to leave this one. Highly recommend this app

Couldn’t perform live without it. This app is exceptional. Everything I need in one spot. Can track gig bookings, easy set up with great white on Black for easy reading and operates well with the iPad.i have recommended this to many music colleges and will continue to do so. Great job.

Update after IO5. This is a great app, buy after the latest update, the app closes in performance mode after one song. You then need to open the app again. Needs a bug fix.

What a useful app. This app does everything it should do, with a whole bunch of things that make it excellent, and make setting up playlists for a gig easy instead oif the pain it used to be for the band. I have not found anything like this in app-land. IPerhaps the next version will have adjustable fonts (ie. option tfor larger ones) so viewing on stage will be more practical and I could ditch the paper list altogether. Great app!

Brilliant. Quite Simply the best app for performing musicians. It does everything you could ever think of, plus a whole lot more. On top of that Arlo's support is standout, better than most of the majors could offer.

Nailed it...nearly. I've tried LOTS of gig style databases, and have been so frustrated with them that I've even resorted to trying to code my own app! But this is simple, elegant, quick and does the job perfectly. I love all the tools to easily access song sheet, metronome, notes and even linking to the actual song in your music collection. My initial euphoria tho has been replaced with a little frustration after a lot of use. Mainly it's the hassle of getting your song sheets in and out to modify. I long laborious progress using iTunes and/or email. I guess it's not so bad if you keep the same static song sheets... But I am always editing mine to suit the occasion/band. To fix this I really would love to see a decent sync of music sheets with Dropbox or iCloud as per some competitors, and even edit on the fly directly using ChordPro format. Or even have the ability to scribble and highlight on the sheet would be better than nothing. Right now you have to use another app to do all that, whereas I feel it's essential to edit songsheets and sync within the app. Still, it's currently my favourite music performance app. Great job!

Songs missing. I am reluctant to write a review because I had been using this app so consistently for the last 7 years or so. However I have noticed a steady decline in support, recently the app has been deleting songs by it self which is incredibly frustrating. I’ve worked out that at least 72 songs had deleted themselves. It really puts me on the back foot now for sending clients set lists and being able to call songs on gigs. Unfortunately I think it’s time I look elsewhere for my gigging app.

A MUST have for all bands. This app is awesome, all 4 members of our band have it. Easy to get set times and rearrange things quickly to account for the crowd. Easy to print and email sets & import playlists in. Attach documents via pdf or word for lyrics. Great support too, fast response & they listen to suggestions from their users and they even implement them, try that with MS :-) Keep up the good work guys.

Incredible. I recently purchased the MIDI add-on and dug into the documentation on the website and I’m blown away, this app does it all, the supported features are truly staggering. I especially love the text file import features for songs and MIDI patches that way I can edit everything with text editors like vim and generate data with scripts. I purchased the MIDI add-on so I could trigger song changes from my guitar processor and it works beautifully.

Best Musician App.. Excellent app. This comes in very handy for organizing my song lists and other info. It's also very handy to make individual song list for auditions or whatever else you need. Keep up the good work. I've already recommended it to my friends.

Complicated to use. Probably just me but I find this app very complicated to use.

Excellent!. Juste ce qu'il me fallait...

Great App. This is a great app for managing song lists and has become a critical part of my workflow for rehearsal, jamming and gigs. The support from Arlo is also first rate. I would very highly recommend this app for any musicians that need to keep track of set lists or just keep their listing of songs organized.

Keeps crashing. For some reason as soon as i select bold or underline text in song editor the app crashes. Some features need major improvements. 1. You should be able to assign midi data per song, instead of using midi presets. Since each song would have unique midi data, whats the point of midi preset. 2. Abbility to set fonts size for chords and song text. 3. Chord pro support. 4. Send midi data on song select, rather than clicking on midi icon

Thanks for making this cool app. I'm not a professional by any means but this is great for organizing all of your songs with all related info. Fits in your guitar case to take to party's. Don't know how I managed before. Easy to use and I hope it keeps improving.

Great App and support. Been using the app with an Air Turn page turner for a couple of years. This combo allows me to easily handle large piano charts with ease. Just started using the app to manage MIDI presets in an alternate setting. Received fantastic support getting this configured. Recommend this app without reservation.

Great app for performing musicians. The functionality that has been incorporated into this app is fantastic. The developer must be a performing musician because the app is designed just the way you would want for a performance setting - and when you send suggestions they respond back very quickly, and then in the next upgrade you see them incorporated (if the suggestions were any good) Highly recommended.

Indispensible. I used this a lot pre v4 but haven’t had a reason to use it for awhile. I got a call to put a 40 tune show together (including condensed versions within medleys) 5 days ago and only knew 10 of them (the band had to suddenly fire their previous player). They’re counting in the next tune as the previous one is ending. I scribbled cheat sheets of music cues on paper then created PDFs and attached them to a setlist in SLM and was able to catch it all. Impressed, I just got picked up for a busy, working band. I did have some questions in changes between v3 & 4, but developer was quick to respond (same as he’s always been).

Updated without checking. I found that the 4.0 update is not good for me. I don’t knock it but for what I do the old one was great. My lesson was learned never to upgrade until you check what the upgrade entails. I am not that computer savvy but if anyone can help me get back my old version I would be grateful.

BEST MUSIC APP. I'm a professional singing drummer with a bad memory and lots of technology going on. I play an electronic drum kit and my vocals are going thru a processor. The drum kits change for almost every song and so do the vocal patches. Setlist maker is controlling all of that and more. With tempo flashing, midi changes triggering my devices and scrolling lyrics I'm in heaven. My whole band uses it and when we update a setlist we just sync and we all have the changes instantly. It's fantastic. And, most importantly, I have never experienced such attentive support any where. I couldn't recommend an app any more than I do this one. It's a dream!

Great for rehearsals and live shows. Works great to keep everything in order for your shows and works great as a lyric or chord TelePrompTer

Excellent App for any musician. Excellent, all charts all songs, tempo flash - saves time

The perfect companion for the performing musician!. i found this app by chance, and it is now the central tool i use for managing my keyboard rig, and for coordinating performances with my bandmates. it has to have been designed by a performing musician, because it does literally everything you need to control your charts, rehearsals, midi commands, patch changes, notes, lyrics, etc. during a live performance. the developer is a real pro, extremely responsive, and incorporates your suggestions and recommendations almost instantly. i wish all app developers were this good at customer service. i have recommended this app in person to over 50 musicians at gigs, including sound and lighting techs, and every one of them has downloaded it, and now uses it all the time. this app makes having an ipad truly indispensable at a gig!

Outstanding. Needs ABC, midi import and soundfont player. Outstanding. Purchase once, buy iap for amazing features. I bought all to support. Great program and support with one time buy price. Simply best set list maker, song organizer and midi controller for musicians. Updated frequently. Just Needs midi (multitrack) import and soundfont player to get 5 stars and truly be utterly amazing. Willing to pay iap for this. Edit found out there is a setting for adjust screen views : Also could use adjustment of screen windows in setting. Eg px width and customization. So amazing here too. Everything else is solid just please add abc notation import with display, music xml, and midi import with a soundfont player. Trust me this will boost users.

AWESOME!. I've been using Setlist Maker for years now and it is fantastic. I'm a singing, gigging drummer and use the midi functions to control the scroll, song line up, etc with foot pedals and it all works flawlessly. I also use a Roland SPDSX in my setup and that to is midi controlled through the app. Lyrics, charts, notes, highlights, anything you need for rehearsing and performing is all there. All the band mates use it as well so the syncing function is great for keeping everyone up to date. Arlo has done an awesome job with this app and I highly recommend it.

Fantastic app!. Highly recommend this app. We use it to make setlists for shows and a tempo reference to count in songs. I love that you have a master database that you can draw from and easily create new setlists. I have tried Frozen Ape's temo and tempo advance. Building a setlist with these apps is way to involved.

Version 4 is Super. The new features in Ver. 4 looked scary after upgrading — take the time to check out the author’s tutorials. After 20 minutes on the Set List Maker website I put almost all of the new features to good use. Customized layouts are a great feature.

Great with personal inconvenience. I’ve used this app for many years. It’s a powerful tool with so much to offer. However I’m annoyed with the latest update of unable to view notes without going into ‘shows’. Bring back the ability to access it from the home edit! This is a huge inconvenience for me I’m contemplating jumping ship.

My Favourite App!. I'm a regular user of Set List Maker and depend on it for planning all of my gigs. I also use it on stage to follow my set lists and to play backing tracks during my shows. The most impressive feature about this APP has got to be the developper's rapid email support and constant efforts at improving his product. Arlo Leach always takes the time to reply to requests for help and quickly follows through with effective solutions, often included in the next SLM update. I strongly recommend Set List Maker to other working musicians who may be looking for a dependable planning and performance tool. Keep up the good work, Arlo!

Really Really works. After a bit of learning the navigation with the app, it has performed flawlessly for the last number of years. I have recommended it to friends who also like it. I write my chord chards /lyric sheets in Word and save them as pdf’s, use auto scrolling and backing tracks made with Band In A Box. Creation of this material is usually done on my PC. The tracks (mp3) and chord charts (pdf) are all stored in the app (so iTunes won’t screw me up with the syncing). With a new Ipad I am now trying to get the 2 talking to each other.

Perfect. So well designed, fluid, and useful. Goodbye xls spreadsheets and big binders. Tutorials are helpful, and the price is right!

Great app but one more important feature needed.. This is really very helpful and a huge time saver. No more fighting with spreadsheets. Set designing is made really easy. There one additional feature I would like to see. Could the lyrics view be designed to auto scroll? For us musicians who multitask, a hands free auto scrolling lyric or chart would be really useful. Along with this, the text needs to be scaleable so it can be read easily from an iPod touch. I love this app but this added feature would make it even better. Beyond this I can't think of too much more to add. Wayne

Five stars all the way!. I have been using this app for a couple of weeks now, playing in a band that does all night shows, one hour shows and 3-4 song showcases. The app is indispensable for keeping all my lyrics, notes, and recordings in one place for practice. My favorites parts include how quickly with the handles I can shuffle songs to taylor sets to specific gigs and print or email the rest of the band set lists for the practice or gig. Also because we record our practices I have a recording attached to each song which is very helpful for home practice. I had some issue with the import tool, all of my own doing, but still managed to get most of my list imported. Adding all the data takes time, but once done adding a song or two is simple. Keeping notes for intros, breaks, and endings helps keep us all together. Sorting songs by various means is also very helpful. Probably the most useful app I have ever downloaded and was exactly what I needed. Thanks so much Arlo! Cheers, David

Amazing tool. Can't say enough thanks for this ridiculously cool, easy to use and learn music tool. Been using it for about 8 months without one issue. If you are thinking about it don,t... Just do it now. Seriously .

Great product. Amazing support. Great product. Customer service is in a league of its own. Both exceeded by far my expectations.

Set List Maker Review. I have been using this app for a month or so now and find it extremely well thought out and very intuitive to use too! I particularly like the ability to store all of my information with the songs and then easily create shows and sets for a variety of events! This is a great app for making sets and printing them in a show ready format! Rock on!

Awesome. This app works quite well, no bugs or issues after a few days use. Integrates very well with iTunes... Great app for any pro or amateur musician. Good job.

Worth many times more than Arlo asks!. I went right to BandHelper. I spend more at Starbucks in a week than he charges for a yearly subscription. Don't be so stingy that you don't support his efforts and ongoing development. I have found the app to be invaluable and easy to learn already after one week.

Great app. Best four bucks I've ever spent ! Awesome !

A must for any keyboard player. Arlo, thanks. Like others this is my favourite app for sure. A simple way to store and use my chord charts and I tunes library of material. But above all a simple way to manage program changes on my two Yamaha boards. I have used it live a few times now and it's great to not have to scramble with sounds between songs. The drummers I work with both love the fact I am ready to go to the next tune before anyone else. I use the air turn blue tooth pedals and an irig as your site recommends. They are perfect additions to the set up. For other keyboard players I suggest staying away from goose neck devices to hold your iPad that connect to your stand. I play pretty hard and with the movement of the iPad you can get pretty dizzy. A small boom stand and irig holder does the trick and it fits easily in my gig bag. I am not exactly "midi aware" so I have had to avail myself of the support function. Promptness and helpful hardly cover it. Other suppliers should take lessons. This is likely the best addition to my gear in years. I rank this right up there with my beloved fender Rhodes 73 stage piano. Other keyboard players I am sure will get that. I can assure you I have been talking about your app with other musicians that I work with. Thanks and keep up the good work.

Best band App. This is the best app for a band ! Everything we need need is inside that app! A database , performance sheet with an direct acces to you tab pdf or listen to the song from your ipod , tempo player etc etc !!!! And the most important think it come with the best support !!!!

Great for keys. Ive been using this app for years and should’ve put in a good review long ago. Of course this app is great for holding lyrics and creating set lists but as I am a keyboard player, I find the midi is most valuable. I perform with 3 boards and simply going to the next song, changes the keyboards for me. Outstanding Arlo!!

Convenient, brilliant and FREE all in one.. I've had this app for a long time (back to when the icon was pens and paper), and it's been nothing short of brilliant. It's the app that has the most frequent updates by the developer on my iPod, which is surprising considering that it's free. The ability to have a song list, take specific tunes and easily rearrange the order with or without breaks has helped my band and myself make balanced, and well organized/planned sets, without wasting any paper or time writing. Once the colour scheme was added, it also gave the ability to group songs together. I personally used the colours for the "feel" of the song so that a I don't accidentally put 4 ballads/thrashers/whatever together. If you do any performing (or are planning a multi-track release of some sort), this app will keep you efficient and allow full and easy evaluation of your set. I still can't believe it's free, and I would gladly pay up to $5 for this app. I'm super serial. Excelsior!

Top Shelf. Fab app. Multiple set list for multiple bands and shows is a snap.

Great app. I’ve been using this app for a couple of years now. I am just an amateur musician but really enjoy performing and this app has made it so much easier than dragging around a binder of music. It has so many features that it can be overwhelming at first. However, if you focus on your immediate needs and work from there, it becomes pretty intuitive. And in terms of support, best and fastest support I have ever seen Simply could not be better supported. Highly recommended.

Switching to a different app. I can’t believe the developer killed the feature Cloud Device Sync to try and herd people over to Band Helper which is subscription based. Bait and switch much?? Why would I pay for Yet-Another subscription? Especially when the competition is a One-Buy-Own-It-All!! Soooooo lame. Musicians get screwed again.

Very Nice App!. I have been using Set List Maker for several years and am quite impressed with what the app can do for both practice and performance. The ability to bring lyric document files and soundtrack audio files into one app makes it possible for me to give a performance using only an iPad. In addition, the latest version provides a number of great customization features that allow the Show layouts to be tailored to suit your needs. Kudos to Arlo for a very nice app!

New update is TERRIBLE!!!. Way to screw up a good thing! I have used this app for almost two years and I have recommended it to several of my peers because it was gig friendly. The new features do not improve this app at all. My biggest complaint is that in the "Perform" mode I can't view a chart in a full page. That doesn't make any sense! Who decided that making a chart smaller is a good thing? Obviously not a performing musician. The previous version allowed me to view charts in full screen mode. Add that feature back and I might be able to use this app again. As for now the updates have made this app more difficult to use thus rendering it useless to me.

An app that continues to improve. I have been giving this app 5 stars since I started using it about two years ago. It was a great app when it started, but it has evolved into something so useable and so fantastic that I wish I could give it 6 stars. It always had a lyric functionality (which I used all the time), but it was fairly limited. One of the latest updates has blown me away with how easy using live lyrics has become. It's awesome for keeping the band on the same page (we sync our set lists together) and its great for keeping my personal set lists separate from the band. The app has become so versatile that anyone who uses set lists will be able to get more than they thought they needed or even expected out of it.

Great app. Playing in a duo live and this app rocks! Everything in one place. We sync our set lists easily. Walks you through your set song by song. Developer said they were working on auto scroll feature - which will make app perfect in my eyes. Developer also quick to respond to comments. If you play out live and carry binders of lyrics, charts, and set lists.... You will love what this app can do for you.

Love it!. I play over 200 shows a year with a large show band. We do 10 to 13 totally different shows each season - from Broadway to Country. We can't use music stands, and each show runs thru 50+ songs. If I didn't have this app I'd be shuffling stacks of paper on the floor. If you have used it since the beginning, stick with it! The new features are great and this is one of the best supported apps for iPad. It just keeps getting better. The developer responds to every issue I have sent in a timely manner. I love the tech support feedback process. I've tried some of the other chart apps, but this one is king for me and what I do. I also run a few bands, this makes it so easy to create a new show and sent the set lists out to the players. This app is essential to my work. My only wish is for Mac integration so I can use a bigger screen and a real keyboard to plan shows and enter charts, lyrics etc. I hate typing on the iPad, even with a 'tooth' keyboard

Set List Maker is the Best!. I tried at least four other set list apps. I paid more for others, but Set List Maker was easier to use and had better editing capabilities than the others. Super easy cut and paste lyrics from the net and it has never failed me during a live performance. The last thing you want is a crash during a live show. I can't praise this app enough! 5 stars and two thumbs up!

Overpriced at free. I was looking for an app to replace GoodReader for song sheets and set lists. What I wanted most was flexible integration with page turning pedals. This app was in the list of compatible apps with my pedal. Unfortunately the app is pretty abysmal. It's UI is reminiscent of an old MS Access app. It is not intuitive, it requires you to spend an insane amount of time doing manual song input. No Dropbox integration, no wifi integration, only iTunes sync to get data imported. Not acceptable. Do yourself a favor and only input a few small songs to start (shouldn't take more then a few hours) so that you can test the performance mode. It doesn't always turn pages on swipe commands and my page turning pedal (which works fine sending keyboard commands during song input) does nothing, despite being mapped to commands in the database. Basically, the app can't do anything useful for its intended purpose and anything else requires an in app purchase, can't imagine doing that... This means for me that I'm still on the lookout for a replacement for GoodReader... Sigh.

A decent app ruined by updates. This was never an incredible app, but it was the most complete and useful setlist/gig manager in the App Store. The updates have made it confusing and overcomplicated. When adjusting the split screen displays, buttons overlap and become impossible to engage accurately. Editing lyrics and notes in their respective fields is wonky: every letter entered causes the fields to blink, and changing formatting can cause the text to disappear unless you exit from the current song. And the interface is non intuitive. If it wasn't for the import flexibility from iTunes playlists, I wouldn't consider using it any more. Bummed.

Inexpensive and powerful. As with most apps, lots of features mean a slow learning curve. It took me awhile to get comfortable with the interface and icons, but once I spent time with it, I am very pleased. I don’t sync with other band members, but I do find the features helpful now that I’ve learned how to use them. I asked the developer for help once, and was shocked at the timely and helpful reply. The ONLY reason I did not give it 5-stars is the lack of an easy-to-use jump-start document, or a well designed user manual. It beats shuffling through all your tab documents. What have you got to loose? TRY IT!

Handy App for Working Musicians. I have been using Setlist Maker for a few weeks now and I like it. It's a handy app for creating and maintaining a database of a all your songs. I have just started to explore some of the advanced features. The app is powerful but not always intuitive, hence a 4 star rating. Overall, I would recommend giving it a try. I am looking forward to the newest version that will be released very soon. With a few minor improvements this could easily be a 5 star app.

Best Set List app in the App Store. Period!. Any serious musician or band leader should consider getting this app. It can handle multiple bands and gig configurations. As with any app, it's had some minor glitches along the way but I still give it five stars because the developer has always been responsive and quick to help users and is continuously improving the app with useful features. Hey, what more could you ask for? Worth every penny.

Powerful and Flexible: Keeps Getting Better!. There are only a few apps that I use at every gig and have proven to be indespensible. Set List Maker is one of them. My favorite feature is the MIDI support. I just select a song from my song list to view the lyrics, and all of my MIDI devices are set to the proper patches/program changes. And....I can control "next song" or "previous song" to appear by using a couple of small MIDI controller buttons that are within reach while I perform. This is not a simple app. You have to spend time with it to figure out how to get it to do exactly what you want. With power comes responsibility. So read the manual and dig in!

One feature would make it perfect for me. I have looked for a good set list app ever since getting my iPhone. Now I've found one I absolutely love! It has every feature I need and some I didn't know I needed, like linking audio so I can preview the set. The feature that would make this app perfect in my book would be the ability to estimate the duration of a set. If I could enter the approximate length of a song in the database and if the app would display a total as I add and delete songs, I'd know if a set was likely to run long or short. Meanwhile, I'll keep using this app with delight!

Great app, with some problems. This is a great tool for musicians to share stuff. However, as my bandmates and I have started to depend on it, we notice small bugs that pose big problems for us, especially related to syncing our lists. Most notably, the app has a tendency to overwrite changes that we make. For example, if my buddy adds lyrics and chords to a song, the blank copy on my device will sometimes overwrite his updates. In a couple cases, this has been a big nuisance that threatens our continued use. It needs a smarter file control system.

My most used music app. I have used this app for almost two years. It is very powerful. It took me a while to learn everything but...wow, I can't live without it on stage or at rehearsals. I'm a drummer. I work in several projects with ever changing set lists. I can easily add and change lists on the fly. I attach lyric sheets, lead charts, and notes to every song. I use the scrolling feature like a TelePrompter for songs I sing. It can also be used for sheet music. I use the metronome for starting tempos. I use the recording feature where I occasionally listen to a sample of the song to help remember the intro and feel (I can't remember stuff anymore😎). It's my most used app!!!

Excellent App. This is an outstanding app. I have had a great experience not only using the app but in my discussion with the developer when I had questions. I would highly recommend this app for anyone who is tasked with creating a set list and managing the set list through the course of preparing for shows. This allows you to link the actual music and recording to the songs in your set lists and has a really intuitive interface for dragging music between sets and between libraries. The emailing in app purchase is handy for sending the set list out....I personally did not think that should be a charge for this feature, but I would have paid for what was otherwise a free app so it balances out.

Great set list tool.. I tried out a few other set list apps before trying this one. This one is more flexible, and more what I imagined a set list app should be. I paid for the upgrade to import playlists from iTunes, which is a big timesaver. It took me a little while to figure out how the app worked, so give yourself some time for the learning curve. Still, I downloaded the app on a Saturday morning, imported the iTunes playlist that contained the songs my band performs (after aging for the .99 upgrade), took my iPad to band practice that afternoon, and built a three-set set list for our upcoming gig when practice was over. This app contains lots of great features, and as a gigging musician, I highly recommend it. I'll be upgrading to the email feature later today so I can email the set list I created yesterday to my band. *** Update *** This app has become more and more indispensable to my band. The latest feature I am making use of is its ability to send out MIDI Messages when selecting a song in Performance mode. I can now pick a song in the set list, and both of my keyboards automatically switch to the correct preset. This streamlines things tremendously. Don't wait, just buy this app!

Excellent and useful app!. This App is an excellent tool for any working live performance musician. While creating a database of songs is time consuming, it is time well spent! Use this app to create set lists in minutes once you have all your tunes entered. Sort by genre, tempo, artist, etc. you can also email your sets to band mates right from the app. I suggested minor changes to the creator of the app, and he took my advice. Great to see someone still cares after they get your cash! Buy this app. You won't be disappointed.

Five Stars! Great App! Great Support!. This app does everything it promises and it's organized smartly. Everything is connected. Everything is easy. It's customizable. You may need to buy one or more in-app purchases, depending on your needs. I use it to call up patches Yamaha MX49 keyboard from my iPad Air 2. I use the iRig MIDI 2 (cables included) to connect the iPad to the keyboard. This will make your life easier onstage. Call up a set list, choose the song and any number of patches are right there at the touch of your finger. You can also call up backing tracks that are on your device, right from the song page. Beautiful!

Amazing helpful and completely thought through.. You can usually measure the success of a product by how well it solves a problem, and this app really nails that goal. It is so rare to find an app where someone really knew what they wanted from the beginning. I have needed an app like this for so long. Not just the lyrics, the scrolling functions, the ability to send emails to clients, etc… but you added MIDI program messages. Amazing. So now I tap on a song, I get all the lyrics I want AND my whole rig switches to the right MIDI set up. I can't say enough good things about this app. Well done in deed.

Amazing!. This app is well thought out. I've used this in performance many times on an ipad and it works great. To have all my lyrics in front of me and easy to move through is great. If you have a song with longer lyrics, you can set it begin slowly scrolling through the lyrics at a set interval of time - very adjustable. Also works with Airturn so you can trigger this by a foot pedal. A great feature I like as a guitarist is that it can send midi to another program. I use Jamup Pro for all my guitar effects. I have it set so that as soon as I select the next song, a preset from Jamup Pro is automatically selected. If I have other presets in the song, I use my 4-pedal airturn pedal to select them. There are too many features to talk about here, but just wanted to mention a few that are indispensable to me. The developer is very responsive to questions and suggestions, and often comes out with new features. This is a must-have for any musician.

Best in Class. I've used Set List Maker for years after having tried every (and I mean EVERY) set list management app that was available in the App Store at the time. The available feature set was amazing when I first purchased it, and it's only gotten better as Arlo has added new features over the years. I have since migrated to Arlo's BandHelper service (which is also amazing because I am much more easily able to share charts, notes, and lyrics between all of my band mates), but I still use Set List Maker for the odd one-off solo gigs that come up from time to time. Great app, totally worth every penny! Thanks Arlo!

Incredible!. After getting the hang of it, this app is just amazing! The depth of features for the price is unbelievable! The one-on-one customer support from the developer is the best I have encountered in 30 years of computing! I have NO idea how he does it but I'm glad he does! P.S. there is a slight learning curve but very reasonable in view if the feature set (which is phenomenal!) perhaps one glaring omission is there is no ability to quickly record a voice memo into the app at a rehearsal. As it stands, adding audio recordings is quite a clunky process that can only be achieved via iTunes. There's no audio memo function or dropbox or soundcloud integration. But this is a great App even if it is a work in progress!!!

Song Lengths!!!. This is a wonderful app, and it has proven itself to be extremely useful for our band. We are very picky about our set list every show and it really helps to have our entire repertoire right there to pick and choose from and arrange quickly. However, the lack of ability to put the length of each song and see the resulting length of your total set seems to be a huge oversight. To me, that is the most important feature, and it is unavailable. Our band is always getting booked for sets of different lengths (usually 30 minutes, 45 minutes or an hour) and to be able to see how long our performance is going to end up without having to do math or actually run through the set would be very nice. That being said, I love this app and I am certainly not complaining about it, especially since it's free. I commend the developer and I hope very much that they will add this feature in a future update. Thanks for taking the pain out of putting set lists together!

Time-Saving Organizer!. This is a seriously helpful program and I literally use it every day! When I think of a song I want to play, I Internet-search the chords and lyrics and drop them into my set list. This operation is very fast and it encourages me to add content to my set lists. I have three distinct musical projects right now and everything I need for each of them is in its own database. Once in a while I copy a song from one database to another. I use my iPad 1 on stage. The songs are set to scroll in the Perform mode and this is very useful. If required by the audience I can quickly change to an unplanned song. Also, if my iPad were to fail, I have the synced program on an iPod as a back up. I was covering a song that has an orchestral prelude. I used a synth to replicate the orchestration to an mp3, then placed the mp3 in the set list song. When I Perform the song, the mp3 plays for about 30 seconds then I begin playing guitar as the orchestra fades... Very cool! If you play solo or in a group and find organizing you songs, lyrics, and shows to be time-consuming and inefficient, this IS your program. Once you start using Set List Maker you will quickly realize that the programs is much deeper than you first expect. This is my favorite and most used iPad program! My thanks to the Developer!

What have you done to this app???. Ease of use has gone out the window with the recent updates. Sure, there are more features that I'd love to take advantage of, but did all of the familiar functions have to be retooled to such a degree? To make matters worse, ALL of my annotations were completely wiped, including lyric and chord adjustments, transposition notes, and alternate presets for show-based circumstances. Functions as simple as page turning and document zooming are clumsy, and it takes serious detective work to do something as simple as font size adjustment. Some of the customized layouts in show views are utterly pointless. Is it possible to 'un-update'? If not then I have to go looking for an alternative app and most likely dedicate hours of time to rebuilding my database. Setlist maker, you are now WAAAAAY out of tune.

just awesome!. About 1 year or so in to using this app and it has saved me so much trouble working with multiple bands. It works flawlessly changing all my drum module patches via midi in one band, i use the recording playback feature to run backing tracks in another. It's even allowed me to consolidate my setup a little bit. Every update has improved the design without making other things l like work differently.

Worth every penny!. This app is amazing. I used to have a huge binder of form sheets and would spend hours re-arranging the music before a gig. Now, I've got all my charts in SLM and I can reorder them very easily. The app integrates with so many other apps. For example, the music director in our band puts some new charts on our Google Drive. It's very easy for me to "Open them in.." SLM. I can also do this from any other app that has the "Open in" functionality. The developer(s) are fantastic. Their site is very informational, they respond right away to any issues. They have the ability to upload your database and provide feedback right in the app. The iPad version of this app syncs with my other iDevices. There are so many awesome features in this app. If you are a musician (I'm a drummer), you need this app. I absolutely love it!!!

Still undecided? Get it now!. This is a great musicians tool and a 'gotta have it' addition to your gig bag! No more paper, cards, or sticky pads! Not only will bands love it, but the solo act will benefit greatly (as only can be experienced by simply using it)! You'll never go back to your old way of doing whatever you were doing! The bad news is that now you'll probably have to purchase an iPad holder that mounts to a microphone stand, but come 'on... join this crowd and experience what a great set list maker can give you! I do agree that it was good (on a previous version) that it automatically added the document name, but Arlo and his team will probably correct that oversight soon!

Horrible! Worthless!. This app is absolutely terrible! At first it was fine(although the interface has always sucked)... Now it will not save anything! I mean nothing. All old set list are still present in database but nothing new will store or save... I can't believe there is no update for this as it has been a long time it has been messed up. Very frustrating as I sat with my guitar player this week and made many different set lists. They were all there until I closed the app... Next time I opened... None of the newly added songs or set list had saved. I have since created many sets. They all look great until you close the app... Once reopened new songs and set list have disappeared. I hate this app and do not recommend it! I want my money back

Very Cool App. I have looked at a couple other solutions out there and by far this one is the easiest to use and provides all the functionality (and more) than I could have envisioned for a free app. I did purchase the little add-ins which I find both useful and reasonably priced given lack of alternatives. I would highly recommend this to other musicians with iPads. I also contacted support with feedback and received a response within 10 minutes. Great response and great value!

Love this app!. This app gets more use from me on my iPad than any other app. I’ve been using it since 2012 and in 2013 I even upgraded from an iPad 1 to an iPad 5 (Air) because I love this app so much. The developer is very responsive to posts on his forums (feature requests, bugs, etc), which is great And the app sees regular updates (often twice a month). You can also use this app with a plethora of wireless foot pedals to do things like page turning and next/prev song. If you’re a musician, this app is highly recommended.

Very few apps get 5 stars from me, this is one without hesitation. I've been using this app for a few years now and it is a brilliant, easy way to create, manage and perform with set lists. Performance mode features like instantly seeing the list of songs with key and with one tap to see lyrics, charts, even a visual cue of the tempo are executed so well, which is important in the heat of a performance. They have really committed to excellent design UI. And check this out: If you have entered the chord info you can transpose the whole dang song with a few taps. This thing was obviously created by a gigging musician and it is updated and improved consistently, though all the essential elements have been perfect from the start. I was spurred to write this because I just had a question and the developer answered me 1 hour later. Crazy good customer service.

Review Update 4.x.x. I sympathize with those that got surprised by the 4.0 release…I was one of those. I take full responsibility for allowing auto-updates. I should have known better…especially when software like this is mission critical to gigging musicians. It really proves how powerful it is and the fact that it can take your show to another level which is what anyone considering buying this app needs to understand. This app is a ferrari….if you are used to a bike, you probably won’t be able to keep up. The functionality in 4.x.x is nothing short of amazing. The Tech Support is the best I have ever experienced and there is no better App out there for the express purpose of helping you with your show and your band. With every new release there are growing pains…its software. Those of you who are unhappy should really upgrade and grab a beer and spend some time with this…you won’t be sorry. I HIGHLY recommend this and as an Engineer and Musician I have utmost respect for the work Arlo has done. A+++ job your execution on this app….simply the best. Moon Dog.

On Track. Great app. .. Honestly I could do this with pen and paper. However. This app is more clever then me ! Loving it and happy with the results. Read on .. Organization !! All personal titles in one place, which are categorized, color coded, covers are a different color, to learn is a different color,… all sorted, calendar-ized, tempos with titles, genres, and most of all.. now - POST production simplified. Done. and GROWING. I have over 100 songs to deal with and this app has cleared room for some of my cobwebs. Thanks. Looking forward to more updates. … the free 'catch'.. have to pay a few bucks to export, and or import from a computer. Justifiable. Free is the info stashed in my little iPo(D)cket. Pay to share it with others.

Great!!. When I first got this app, it really made my gig life so much easier and so organized. It has so many great options it feels like it was custom made just for me. Anything you want it to do, it seems like it already does. Then you quickly learn that the creator cares about your concerns and is constantly making the app better, seemingly just for the fun of it, cuz it's quite inexpensive for what it does. This latest update has a fix directly related to something I asked him about AND another update that once again improved my nightly gigs. Awesome, thanks!! Update... this app is still the centerpiece for all my gigs. I use it all the time, and all the updates are much appreciated. Thanks!

Fantastic App and Stellar Support. This is an incredible bargain. You can tell that the developer either is a working musician or listens carefully to input from the user community.. A couple of features require purchasing add ons like midi and document input support but it is WELL worth the minor charge.. A complete IPAD package for managing set list, including lyrics, sending midi messages, and displaying notes, chords etc. in a life situation. Its quickly becoming an invaluable part of my stage set up..

Not full App. You would think that after purchasing this app you would get the full app and features. I wanted this app to help organize my song for sets. I already have tons of PDF's and files to upload. This app makes you pay 2.99 after my original 2.99 to attach any documents and additional charges for other features. I may not have minded if it either told me there are additional charges or just charged me from the get go. Not even sure if at this point it's worth it for me to go through all the trouble. I'm currently using tab pro and for .99 I'm able to add any PDFs and quickly view them and select my favorites when I play a set. Maybe I'll try this app again if I have time to manually input all my songs.

Essential for anyone in a band. I've been using this app for at least 3 years now and love it! We create/collaborate to make set lists (syncing feature is a worthwhile add on), keep track of tempos, lyrics, and keys. As a drummer, I especially appreciate pulling up the set list at a gig or during practice and getting the flash metronome. We even email and print set lists from it. Improvements appear periodically with updates--it's great to witness the developer continuing to improve features and stability! I definitely recommend this app!

Set List Maker 4.0. I've been using this app for about 2 or 3 years. It's really good for organizing music files, keeping band informed etc. The new update is less user friendly. There is no way that I can figure out how to place full document on screen without scrolling it or setting a timer scroll. Real problem because we have over 200 in our playlist. I reformatted over 300 songs in PDF to fit old version. Also, previous style worked now they've got a dashboard, etc. Not necessary. Great product that has lots of uses, but need to fix full screen thing without scrolling or I ave to find a new program. E-mail function that I previously made an in app purchase is no longer working.

Great app, simply outstanding!. As a performer that performs alone and with several different groups, this app is the best for organizing and planning sets, anywhere, any length! You can keep it simple with just the names of the songs, or go for more detail about each one. I had some problems with in-app purchases but I emailed for help and response was very quick and my problem is being fixed promptly. Highly recommended!!!

Incredible Intelligently Designed App. I originally puchased this app for it's basic setlist features but was amazed to find a wealth a features for managing my entire show. I have the app runnng on an iPod Touch at live shows using a Bluetooth footswitch to change songs and open lyrics. Each song change sends MIDI data to initiallize all our gear, including tempos, DMX lighting setups and more. I can broadcast my live setlist to other band members - or they can sync my data and run thier own. And at rehearsals, I have direct access to all our recordings for reference. You can tell this app is written by someone who understands the needs of working musicians.

It's great!. I didn't like this when it first came out---it didn't do much. But I tried it again after the updates, and am starting to really like it a lot! One suggestion----could the database 'dark background' option also allow the charts to be displayed on a black background with white letters? That would be amazing in very low light settings. I will continue to use this--thanks so much for the updates!

No, it WAS fabulous - 4.0 is useless. ISet List Maker WAS intuitive, easy to use, very live show friendly. I used it as a guitarist, drummer, and music director. Lots of options and information at your fingertips. Need to annotate? Do so on the fly. In the previous version. No more. In the middle of your show and want to swipe quick to the next song sheet? Forward and back no problem. In the previous version. No more. Maybe you just need to hear the opening lick..no prob, play the song file...IN THE PREVIOUS VERSION....all from a full screen view of your sheet music or chord/lyric chart. But not in 4.0. Lots of wasted space, lots of navigating around in order to get to what you need...all from the so called "performance mode". Can't do this during a show. Not and dodge rotting veggies at the same time. I get the need to get rid of the pop ups during song/show set up...annoying but worth it for the smooth flexibility during performance the previous version used to sport. Now song /show set up is smooth and performance mode is a dog. What a waste of a years worth of document and song import, show fine tuning, and historical reference only to have the whole thing scrapped by a program designer who I just have to ask myself "do you even use this thing? Do you play music? I'm guessing not. Now I have to go out and find another program and start all over. Not happy Bob. Not....happy....!

Awesome App and Support. This app does it all and then some... the ability to upgrade set lists with band members AUTOMATICALLY AND EFFORTLESSLY makes life grand. Attaching songs to your set list is great for practice. ("How did that intro start?") I take it on my iPad right on the stage and have access to notes, keys, lyrics, charts... whatever I choose to include. I dont use but half of its features but thats twice as much as any similar app. The developer is GREAT with his support as well. Get this app with no hesitation... you wont be dissapointed.

Fantastic!. I'm a piano/keyboard player and I've been using this app for several months now while on a European concert tour with several different choirs working various Gospel festivals. This app has been a lifesaver every night for keeping track of the different set lists for each choir, the different keys each choir might sing the same song in, and even the sheet music files in case I forget a part on a particular song! I can even attach audio files to my songs to preview them. And my absolute favorite feature is Performance Mode.

Great program. Love this, allows you to make separate lists for multiple bands. My only issue is I've recently updated to the latest iOs (since moving to the Cloud) as well as updated to this latest version of Set List Maker, and now the program crashes when I try to attach a PDF chart. Really need that function, other than that, still great.

Awesome support!!. I love this app, great functions, love the large font set lists, metronome, and how you can organize in so many ways. I also love being able to sync multiple devices and have my bandmates sync remotely, very cool. The best thing though, is the customer support. I had a problem syncing at first, so I clicked help, (gives you email support). Arlo, responded to every email I within about a day or less, and he was able to fix the problem. It took quite a bit of back and forth but he worked with me and was incredibly helpful. I didn't expect that, but I'm totally impressed. Love this app!!

Best App on my IPad. If I only had this one app on my IPad it would have made the entire investment in the device worth every cent. I play a complex keyboard setup and am the front/main singer in a very busy cover band. We all sing and we do a great deal of transposing as well. This app has totally simplified my set up and performance which has made both even better! Its also been great for planning sets and getting them to band members easily. After only a short time with set list maker I don't know how I'd live without it! Arlo's support has been great whenever there was any type of issue.

Wow. Real customer service. I built myself a database with Handbase that does what Set List Maker does. It was time consuming and I can't quite get it to do everything I want it to do. Set List Maker is great I had a issue with my setlist and the developer fixed it immediately. 4 emails back and forth and the problem was solved. It was like he was sitting there beside me. Awesome! There's an update coming soon I'm told so no one else has the (rare) problem. 4 requests: 1. A field for Capo position (I'm using the Other field right now). Should appear on Perform page too. 2. One tap, in-app recording from Perform page, savable (to iTunes) and overwritable (fantastic way to practice your set!) 3. Persistent dimming of song title when double tapped on Perform page so it's easier to follow the list on stage. 4. Artist name on Perform page.
