Not a fan anymore. I love Travel + Leisure magazine, however the new app, not so much. It has slowed down my iPad too much enough for me to loose interest. While I understand the concept of improving things, I feel this was an unnecessary app “improvement”.

Can't purchase latest issue. This app does not allow you to purchase the latest issue of T+L as does nearly all other magazine apps, only special issues. Apparently you can purchase the latest if you have a regular subscription, but the advantage of the iPad app should be to not have to carry around the paper.

Confusing. Very confusing app. Purchased a subscription on a monthly basis and received the current issue. I enjoyed the issue,however, when a new issue was made available a couple of weeks later it said I needed to pay $3.99 for it. Restored purchases and still nothing! Why would I subscribe monthly only to have to pay for issues anyways!

Loved It. For a first try, I was very impressed with the T&L app. Sure, I would like to see a lot more content and photographs, but those should come with time. Great start.

Love the magazine, hate the app. I’ve read most of the comments on this app and I have to agree with the negative ones. Trying to download the digital version is IMPOSSIBLE!!! Is it really this difficult for your IT folks to fix? Very, very frustrating. I subscribe to other magazines with a digital version available and when I’m notified of the new edition, I press ONE button and less than 10 seconds later, it’s available to read. Please get this fixed!!!!

I hope this is fixed... FIXED. I've been waiting for this mag on the iPad since day 1, and so excited to see it. Unfortunately, I can't get it to download the first issue. I'm not sure why only some users have this problem, but I'm very disappointed. I'm not giving up though... Waiting for a fix. UPDATE: Later in the same day, the download worked! So be patient, the content is worth it.

Not Pleased. Terrible app for a great magazine. It constantly tries to get me to re-purchase issues I have ALREADY PAID FOR, either through my print subscription, and then again through charges for individual issues. App treats you as a first-time user no matter how many times you have logged in. It tries to convince you to try the app, every time, and then re-buy the issue even when you are validly logged in as a subscriber. Shameless rip-off. I have complained several times, and oh well. At least with the print version you only have to buy each issue only once. The app developer should be publicly flogged for this.

Great that App Now Works on iPhone...Except it Doesn't. Update: App STILL does not work on iPhone; specifically, it does not work on the iPhone 6 plus. What faulty advertising! When the app description says, "now works on iPhone," don't believe it-it does not! 'Need to reimburse subscribers for iPhone (6 plus) for charging for subscriptions through this App that has not been working for a month now! Original review: Will not load on iPhone 6 Plus. 'Says it is updating library; then, just loads a blank page. Also, there is no option in settings to restore previous purchases. App simply does not work on iPhone.

Awesome. Download quick 'n e-z. Love the “Book This Trip” and “Address” pop-up's. McCarthy and NOLA vids fun to watch. Really good stuff. Only first iPad issue too -- can't wait to see what follows!

What the heck?. Why would Travel and Leisure figure anyone would get the issues in this app? I'm a print subscriber, and after getting my digital subscription activated on other Ipad magazine apps such Motor Trend and the New York, I whole-heartedly expected to be able to do the same here. I'm not sure if this is money grubbing of the worst and outdated degree, or just an oversight (t&l always seemed to be stuck in the early 2000s) but I can't see anyone except the most loose with money buying the issues in this terrible app.

Overall a nice effort. Having recently read many different Travel related iPad magazines to get a feel for what's new and interesting in this space, I find this one to be well done! I'm not experiencing the problems with past issues that others are experiencing and find the content and photography of the magazine to be well done. Interested in seeing creative new features that will separate this magazine or others from the pack.

New version is broken!. I used to be able to access the digital copies with my print subscription - however, the new version does not authenticate properly and wants me to buy the digital versions, even though I have a print subscription! Whenever I try to log in with my subscriber number, I get an error message that I should try again later, and when I log in with my email address, the app doesn’t recognize me as subscriber. Not happy!

Once again they ask what I think of this app. Interestingly, no matter how many email complaints I write or how many times I call, no one in this apps support structure can figure out that there is an issue with the app. But, when I periodically open the app to see if my "disappeared" issues have returned, a popup requests that I rate the app. Once again, I am giving one star because I can't give zero. The app and its cousin, Food and Wine, are broken. I can't download any digital versions since the May issue for either. I am a paid up subscriber with written documentation that I am entitled to free digital downloads. Guess this is what happens when Time Inc. gets its hands on you.

Scam cannot cancel!!!. This is the biggest scam ever! The only reason why I gave this one star because there is no option for none! The magazine is inferior when compared to print. I went to cancel (every purchase is auto renew only) and there is no way to do so! DO NOT buy! Check the comments! I am not the only one with this issue" SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM

Beautiful and best Magazine app....after I got it to work. It took several attempts to download this issue with multiple reboots but when I finally got it downloaded it's stunning! The videos look great but it takes you out of the magazine to view them but it's easy to close and resume! They are on the right track...just fix the bugs!

What Ipad app?. As a print subscriber for several years i was excited to see an app for my ipad. Installed and guess what? So far only 1 issue is available. Where is the issue i just got in the mail? Only select issues are digital? You're kidding right! I can't even find old digital issues! I'm having issues with the few issues available.

So buggy. Can’t access content in app I've paid for - sends you in an endless loop.

Good app. Very convenient to be able to view any issue whenever, wherever I want. Favorites option is better than a bookmark. Also like to see occasional updates to past issues. When will you be offering electronic subscription only option?

One request.. I love this Magazine. If there's one thing I would bring back is the feature where the magazine cover is animated with sound for a few seconds. It provides two things: a feeling of tranquility; the sense you are there in the moment while the cover is being animated. It stirs up the "travel bug" itch. For a good example look at the "Best of Europe" issue 2011 then imagine that experience for some of the newer issues. Thank you for a great application otherwise.

Unable to download new edition with active subscription. App is not allowing me to download latest editions. I’ve had the app and subscription for four years and now it’s saying I have to pay for the latest editions even though my subscription shows active.

Can't Re-Download Year Subscription. The developer doesn't have a way to re-download your subscription if you have to reformat or upgrade your iPad. Total deal breaker and the bigger puzzle is: how can Apple allow a developer to sell you something if you can't download it again like you can with apps in the app store? Borderline scam. If you like the magazine then get the analog version. This developer isn't ready to make their mark in the digital domain like other digital magazines offered in the iTunes store. Giving it one star just so I can post.

Needs Landscape View. This magazine has amazing pictures and graphics. Gets better with every update! But if the magazine had landscape view it would be perfect.

Crappy Update. Since the latest update, all of the issues I previously downloaded need to be re-downloaded. I wouldn't mind so much except it was like 20 issues. I don't have time to re-download every issue since your update reset everything. It would be nice if this was fixed so I could access my previously downloaded mags with doing it all over again. I like the previous version anyway. I'm not trying the new update until I can access my other mags. My subscription is up for renewal in less than a month. This will definitely determine whether I spend more money. Same thing is going on with my Food & Wine app. I'm really annoyed! #Frustrated!

Doesn’t Recognize Print Subscriber. Like others are reporting the Travel + Leisure app does not recognize my digital account that I have as a print subscriber. I have quit/restarted the app and the iPad, logged out/back in, changed my password and logged in again using the new password but I am being asked to pay for issues. I have written to customer support for help but am still awaiting a reply although I am not hopeful based on comments here. Terrible app since other magazines seem to be able to get this functionality right.

Frustrated - not getting what I paid for!!. Angry online subscriber seeks several missing issues!!!! In an effort to go paperless and utilize my iPad, I purchased a year online subscription only to receive three months of that subscription. I keep receiving password denied messages. Incorrect email messages when requesting help through "remember my password". No response when specifically requesting assistance through support. Very frustrated ... Please take caution when purchasing this product!!! Unacceptable customer experience. Very surprising given the image of quality I originally had come to expect from this publication!!!! I will no longer be purchasing Travel and Leisure online nor on paper!! Very disappointed and feeling ripped off!!!

Love at first tap. Beautiful app, very smooth and user friendly. Can't wait to read all issues!

I'll never go back to the print edition!. I love getting lost in T+L, especially when I'm sitting at home on the patio. It makes me feel like I'm on vacation myself. The iPad version brought a whole new depth to reading this publication, starting with the cover -- a short video clip that brings the still image to life. From there, you can immediately click to any of the cover articles, or proceed to the map and browse articles geographically. Alternate means of perusal are available through the app interface, which will be familiar to readers of other AMEX publications. Videos produced by the authors give the story a depth you'd never get from reading alone. Interactive quizzes provide a fun diversion, and slideshows allow me to easily explore more on destinations I find interesting. Overall I think this publication does a stellar job balancing information, presentation and exploration. I happily subscribed for the whole year.

Changes the meaning of reading. This is an awesome app that really revolutionizes the way the we read. I have never seen anything like this before. This application has led the way for other magazines to follow. This is a must do because it changes the very meaning of reading.

Great job!. Simple yet well designed and functional. Works great and doesn't crash. A very well made app. Please keep the price of future issues under control or better yet, figure out a subscription model.

Subscriber. This app is perhaps the worse app in the store. I say "perhaps" only because it is virtually impossible to download and use all of the apps! If you want to read this magazine just subscribe to the print edition and don't waste your time with the app. I have subscribed to the magazine for years and can not understand how an entity that can produce a high quality print magazine can allow their name to be associated with such a worthless app.

Nav is difficult. Was really looking forward to reading the mag online. Unfortunately there are no instructions how to return once a story or pictures end - you can't get anywhere! Very frustrating! Once I was able to accidentally multi finger swipe and finally returned to the article. But again I am caught in a loop thru the picture pages and can't get back to the articles. This app needs some work.

Are you kidding me?. I have tried and tried to use this app, even reloading it three times with the same result. I am a paid subscriber but it always gives me error 4010 and ask me to try again. There is no help button that works. Don't know what this hoax is all about! By the way there is no way to rate it less than one star which was my intention!

Looks good on 1st pass. First off, download and install worked on the first try, though I was on wifi and not 3G if that makes an difference... Nice navigation-I like the page viewer option which allows for easy thumbnail scrolling thru the issue's pages

Beautiful app... but what issues can I buy?. I've had this app almost since it came out. There were 3 free issues when I first installed it and then I bought two more issues for $3.99 each... I now have all 5 issues and there have been no new ones available for purchase for the past 4 months or so... I am apparently one of those FEW that would purchase electronic copies of what I get in the mail already, but THERE ARE NONE OFFERED. I guess they just want everyone to give them $8 - $12 and then not make any more content available in their app. Pity... like I said, they are beautiful and there are some of us here that would buy them.

poor design. In spite of a great magazine design, this is a clunky app. It doesn't allow for landscape viewing and in comparison to New York Magazine, this is like a mimeograph copy of the real thing. Shouldn't it be better than that? It is not easy to access this app as you have to sign in with all your info just about everytime? Please stream line this.

Beautiful. It's a well thought and easy to use app...quite lovely! Only complaint is not being able to scale up individual pictures as in most other app magazines...fix that and you've got a complete winner.

App won’t sync across devices. I can see my issue on my iPhone but not my iPad. Restoring purchases doesn’t work. RESPONSE TO DEV: You don’t get an account number when you subscribe via the app.

Love the mag.. The magazine is definitely worth the app. Things to improve upon would be the ability to view in landscape. Also sometimes seem to have trouble moving out of sideshows to back to articles .

Print subscriber dont get all digital. I am currently a print subscriber and recently got the ipad2. Found out that I could get digital copies as well. So I downloaded August issue but September issue did not show up. Call customer service and was told that September issue is not in digital format. I dug further in T+L website and found a clause that only 9 print copies in a year will be digitized. Why 9? I have no idea. So I am kinda disappointed.

Impossible to restore iTunes purchases. Follow the instructions in the new app to the letter - doesn’t work. Reach out to technical support and they require you to sign up for an account. I point out I don’t want an account - I subscribed through iTunes - but no - they want my email and me signed up to an account. Their own instructions to restore purchases don’t work. Feels like a bogus scam to get people signing up for accounts they don’t want and collecting personal information

Just fix it !. Used to be a decent app. As a print subscriber, I can no longer download issues. App asks me to pay another $5.99 for something I've already paid for. Used to be a simple download button when signed into your account and a new issue came out. Same issues with Food & Wine magazine. Until they fix this, I would avoid this app completely. Also considering dropping my print subscription as a result. Very unhappy !

Couldn't subscribe on my iPad. I just tried to subscribe to the magazine and kept getting an error. I had to call customer service. They were very nice, and got it done, but it was a pain. Why have a digital version or an app if you can't subscribe via iTunes /Newstand? That's the whole point of having a digital device in the first place. Once I actually have the magazine I'll post another review about how it actually works. Right now one star for poor execution just to subscribe

Ok app. Not bad for a first try. App has no idea where you left off when you go back to finish reading. Conde Naste Traveler is a 5 * app and a pleasure to read with. This is an elementary school try which needs work. Not smooth at all.

Beautiful APP, Terrible Delivery. I have been a subscriber to the print version for years and was happy when they finally announced that I could get the digital version as part of my existing subscription. The interface for the Oct. issue is great. It is more than just a PDF version of the magazine and really takes advantage of the iPad strengths. So why only two stars? Last week I recieved the next issue in the mail and thought, "Great, I have a couple trips coming up. It will be nice to be able to read this digitally while on the plane or waiting in airports". I openned the app library and no Nov. Issue. I now find out that they are only going to produce 9 out of 12 issues in digital form. Will November eventually appear? I don't know. What issues will come digitally? I don't know. The description above states, "Read and store digital versions within the app as they are released". The implication of the entire paragraph is that most of their volumes are available when actually it is limited to the few that they mention after the word "Include". Since the release of the digital versions does not match the release of the print versions and there is no mention of this in the description or in the app itself, it leaves the long time subscriber very frustrated.

T+L ++. Great app with all of the amazing features of the print edition! Navigation is simple and quick, and the layout of the menu is nice. Love having this app on the iPad, color and richness of T+L combined with AAPL = Fantastic digital content.

Not Professional. I too, have a subscription and could not get the magazine to download on my iPad. I expected to be able to get any of the previous magazines that I had already paid for on my device. I'm VERY disappointed in your FALSE advertising about your App. I also was "tricked" into giving a 5 star rating while trying to submit this review.

Navigation wish. Very comparable to the print issue. Seems to me if I am paying for the print issue I should be able to get the app free. Also, I would like suggest that the navigation from one section of the issue is available on every page - perhaps tabs?

STUCK. Love the mag but the photo slideshows at the end of each issue are annoying. I can't slide in or out of them and can't close out. The bottom menu only appears for 2 seconds and then disappears & won't return with a screen tap. Just get rid of the slideshows and display each photo with a caption as a tap able option.

The worst app ever. Being a long time subscriber of the physical magazine - which is awesome, it is very frustrating to see the poor job that has been done with this digital version. To begin with, you have to be online to read it, which is against the ehole purpose of a magazine - to read whenever and wherever you want. Secondly, it seems like a library of advertisements, there seem to be more of them than actual articles! Third, you cant share articles, which is what most of us want to do when we read something interesting. Fourth, one cannot add a bookmark or highlight a specific paragraph or even a page - only the full article. Also, you cant even organize them by topics, Etc, etc, etc If you are thinking of this app, look at the paper magazine, which will be much more useful

Just downloaded the app. I also downloaded the app and had no issues, I got the same error message but I was able to keep going with the download. The features are really nice,you can tap the pictures, And it provides more information. My assumption is they must have fixed the kinks in the download.

Does not work. Made mistake to upgrade. Lost my issues and cannot retrieve them. If it ain't broke don't fix it!!!!

Free first time copy crashes. Wanted to see it, to see if I liked it before paying for it. It crashes before I even get there. Good thing I didn't pay for it. Delete....

Travel lust. I love the app versions of this magazine. The magazine virtually comes to life. This magazine always filled me with the desire to travel and now the app experience surpasses even television travel shows in giving you an approximation of the travel experience.

Free digital version don't work.. I have a print subscription. Unable to get the digital version as offered for free. Logging in to get the digital version does not work after logging in, very confusing, so deleted the app.

Just plain bad. I have a digital subscription - frequent issues with downloads getting stuck. Recently the app opens but doesn't recognize my subscription and won't go past the sign on page. A total rip off.

Love it. It is so nice to have this on my iPad! I can read it anytime that way, not just when I am sitting at home.

It's Ok. I have the magazine but the app is a bit limited but over all it could be my device. All is said and done I love the Magazine.

Nice content, but POP-UP ADS ON MY IPAD? No thanks.. I am tempted to REMOVE THS APP from my iPad because I get a frequent "POP-UP" AD (like an iCal reminder) ENCOURAGING ME TO SUBSCRIBE to Travel + Leisure Family. I don't like seeing pop-up ads on my computer; I certainly don't like pop-ups on my iPad. Note to T+L app developer -- please remove this annoying feature, so I can enjoy the app at my own "leisure."

Difficult to navigate and mostly ads. This is a waste of time as it has to download each issue, 2 out of three pages are advertisements. I'd rather see a web version that doesn't download and skips the ads.

What's wrong with T+L 500 issue?. This app would have gotten a 5-star, but now I'm downgrading it to 1-star. The T+L 500 issue downloads to my iPAD, but then won't work. It asks me to "rotate", but it does nothing. As soon as they fix this issue, I will revise this review - maybe.

Content is fine but no subscription option.... I'm not going to pay 2-3x the cost of a print subscription for the benefit of "enhanced" content.

Have to separately buy the digital editions. I already subscribe to the print edition and thought I could use that for the digital editions but no, you have to buy the digital editions separately. Your print subscription account will not work.

Subscriber access. Once a subscriber logs in, one would think the banner ad offering 30 days free would go away. It doesn't. How hard could it be to have that disappear once a subscriber logs in?

Review. Don't like that that view has to be vertical to read the magazine . I should be able to read it in my iPad in a horizontal (landscape) format.

Where's the free issue. The free issue was no where to be found. The only thing present was a section to buy new issues or a subscription. I can't stand anything that attempts to lure you in!

Deported?. Apparently, I'm no longer a subscriber. App won't allow me to download the latest issue, despite the fact that my print subscription doesn't expire for a year. Reached out to the app helpdesk but no response. Really sad that Amex sold this great magazine to a shoddy operation like Time Inc. Good luck. Won't be renewing.

Krishna Jayaraman. Just fabulous! Love it. The graphics are great. Could not put it down. The start of many dreams.

Really buggy. I can't get the app to work. When I install it, it keeps showing the message "Connect to the iTunes Store..." I click OK, and the message reappears. I delete, reinstall, and the cycle starts over. I have deleted it for good. It's terrible. I am pretty sure the laudatory messages are self generaTED.

No option to transfer to new iPad. I bought a subscription on my old iPad, and now with my new iPad, I see NO way to transfer issues from old to new. This is a glaring omission.

Does not update subscription for new device. I am incredibly annoyed - unable to carry my paid subscription to my new iPad, and cannot cancel. Extremely disappointing, as other magazines made the transition flawlessly

Doesn't recognize print subscribers are eligible for free access. If you are a print subscriber don't bother thinking you will be able to download your issues and read them here. It simply refuses to recognize print subscribers and customer support acts like you are from Mars and are trying to cheat them.

Great app but no digital subscription!. This is a great app , but again another great magazine with no yearly digital subscription. Clearly they are missing in a great opportunity. Would give it 5 stars if they had one.

Just a Sales Ploy. I thought this app would enable me to access content similar to what I'd find on their website. But really it is just a platform for you to buy old subscriptions of their magazine in a digital format. Not worth the trouble of downloading.

Does Not Allow Magazines across Multiple iPads. Good app but does not allow purchased magazines to be viewed across multiple iPads. As comparison Business Week does a great job at this.

Already behind other available digital magazines. Latest available issue is 60 days old. Not easy to navigate. Nice color but limited content & you added an ad for another digital magazine when you haven't perfected this one. Not part of Apple's newsstand but a separate app. Needs a lot of work.

Travel and leisure. The current issue will not display at all though the covers are visible. I get a message to turn the device sideways, and it does not work. Long time to download as well.

Not user friendly. Paid for the subscription and now can't download past editions. Also won't let me sign in or create a new log in. Also when you get to the last few pages it won't let you go back or exit, you have to close the app.

Love this app!. Thanks to Travel + Leisure for creating such an interactive and interesting app! The increased content over the magazine is fab as well!

Lost access to previous issues.. Not only have I lost access to all my previous downloaded content, I can no longer login to my existing account to download new stuff. Same problem with my F&W subscription too. Please fix this.

Best Travel Magazine Around.... Nothing beats the pictures and the commentary in this app. I love how simple it is to navigate and all the cool features.

Download not free. As a current Food & Wine subscriber I was invited for a limited time to download the May issue of Travel + Leisure. I tried many ways to do this. It does not appear possible to do this without a subscription? Not a way to invite potential customers to review your magazine!

It won't let me in!. As an existing subscriber, I thought it would be easy to sign in. I went around and around in an endless loop trying to set a password and finally gave up after 10 minutes. I then deleted the app and will not renew my print subscription.

New iPad magazine standard!. Virtually no loading while rendering beautiful pics/videos and articles. Well done!!!

Flawed. I love the magazine but the online edition has been impossible to access. Totally frustrating. I nave a paid subscription and it asks to pay each time I try to read an edition online. I am finished trying to use this. I easily read other other publications online but the road blocks for T&L are horrid.

Expensive, no subscriptions. This app flat out stinks. They offer no subscriptions, and current print subscribers are left in the dust when it comes to accessing a digital version of their issue. I'm deleting the app, and not renewing my print subscription. I'll steal a copy from the airline lounge instead.

Thanks for destroying a quality magazine, Time, Inc.!. Take a look at a Condé magazine app, and then try to take this one seriously. Not only has the print edition gone down in quality since its acquisition by Time, Inc., but the app is a drag. Slow, buggy, hard to read. Joyless. I'm out.

It is good. It freezes occasionally, and I would like to read horizontally, but it's good.

Does not work with iOS 4.2 on iPad. Claims it works with iOS 4.2 on iPad but it does not. I have iOS 4.2, installed app 3 times and nothing. No issues loaded and show nothing available to purchase. Please do more testing and update with a fix soon.

Really!?!. All my issues from my original download (2011) of the app are no longer in my library. I have the option to PURCHASE them. The same thing happened with my Food & Wine.

World's Best Hotels. Most properties in this issue are far beyond the financial reach of most travelers, but still nice to look at. Most glaring omission: No first-person accounts.

Digital native. As far as digital magazines, this is the gold standard app for any subject.

Love. Thanks for bringing everything I love about my print subscription to the iPad! Much more portable for my weekly travel.

Flaws need to be fixed. Looks like a nice digital mag but there's an issue with slow rendering of pages, at least on iOS 4.2. Takes 5-7 seconds to render a page every time. Very annoying and makes for a crappy reading experience. Please fix

Disappointment. Just another way to get you to buy a subscription. I have a subscription. This app is painfully slow. Nothing here for me. The nice thing is I can delete it.

MY TRAVEL TOOL. I love this app for the articles and travel suggestions. The "top list" is my favorite. I wish it included commentary on the top properties. Maybe charge for the in-depth analysis with photos and destination recommendations.

Great app. No problem signing in and is free as long as you have a print subscription.

Should get a zero rating. No ability to get subscription. App crashes, and it is slow. Downloads keep crashing. Apple should remove this app from the store. I would give it zero if I could.

Unusable. Having same issues, actually paid for the yearly and one issue and both options are not working.

Ruse and hard to access. Fools you into believing you can view the book free but then makes it next to impossible to access. Don't have the time or patience to fool with neophytes who Aren't running with the big boys. this sort of thing won't exist in a year.

Terrible App. It is absolutely impossible to use this app! I am a print subscriber who has a "free digital version" but no matter how many times I try to set up an account and get my digital version it won't let! This app and their customer service is completely worthless!
