Grade weighting. This semester I could no longer enter percentages into weighted grade categories. I'm looking for something else.

Professor. This app has some good features but importing students into to program is less than desirable. I have several sections of classes and the process is very time consuming. I will come back and re-rate this app if the developer(s) make it easier to import students into the class. I would like to see this app import csv files from Drop Box. I'm back with an update to my review. The developer has heard my cry and added a drop box feature that allows the user to backup files. I spoke with him via email, and he has informed me that the full drop box feature will be coming in the future. For his latest update and quick response, I've returned to bump this app up by one star. One more feature and I will give it the "Five Star General" rating. Keep up the good works guys.

The Best Out There!. This app is great! It is easy to enter assignments in and to take attendance! Very helpful and one of the best GradeBook apps out there. It is worth the cost. Never had a problem and has great features. Absolutely love this GradeBook.

College professor. Been using this app for years. Irreplaceable, more reliable than anything else I’ve ever found, super flexible and easy to use

Still very good. I'm a university professor and have used this excellent app for years to take attendance, record behavior, email groups and average grades. It is an indispensable tool for the teaching side of my job. Dropbox backup does not work (one star off) but it does backup to iCloud which for me is more convenient. Hope the developer continues maintaining the quality of this useful app.

Drop integration no longer works. This app is not kept up to date and no longer works with Dropbox suddenly. Do not buy unless updated after this date.

My best allied in class. This app helps me stay organized as a traveling teacher from room to room to room to room, all different. I can take notes of tasks, class work, homework, attendance, etc on a school where I don't even have a school computer with Internet access in order to take the mandatory online attendance. It's very easy to use, a bit expensive but worth the money. The only downside for me is that tasks cannot be colored coded. I mean, there are no assignment categories. So when I am transferring data from the IPad to the school electronic grade book, I find myself browsing the grade book pro data up and down adding the category points mentally. I tried exporting as a csv file to excel but it got messy. It would help me a lot to have color-code assignment categories. The other thing that might help me a lot is category weights. Foe example assessments are 65% in our school. That means that when when a student asks me how are they doing in class my response is, "The grade you see on the IPad is not the correct grade because is not weighed". These two things will make a huge impact in my use of this app. For now it helps a lot, but wish that little changes can do a bit more.

Great App so far. Follow-up: it has not been updated in too long and seems not to be supported :(.

Not bad but no connectivity. Still a good app for grading. However with no connectivity this app is only good for use on the tablet. One fix and an update would make this good again.

Best out there but in need of an update. I have tried a lot of the gradebook apps over the past 3 years and this is still by far the best, however, pretty sure the developer sold the app. Currently there is no longer support and the last update was in February. Big disappointment since Eric would listen to consumer suggestions and make improvements. It would be great if they did an update since this app is so useful and it has so much more potential to be the ultimate app for teachers. (I.e. Add a rubric into program so that I do not have to use 2 different apps). It is really a shame. I think teachers could really benefit and want to use it if this became supported again. Unless there is an update soon, I do not recommend spending $20 on an app that might not work with future operating systems or lacks support when problems arise. It is a 5 star app but I can only give it 2 with the lack of update and questionable future.

One of the best. I recently downloaded this app to replace my hardcopy grade book. Since using it for just over 2 weeks now, I've really enjoyed it as have my students. They love how I can show them their grades, average, etc. at a moment's notice. I love it b/c it saves so much time as this app does all the calculations immediately. An earlier review stated one concern being that grades couldn't be put into categories. A recent update changed that and I'm glad it did. We are required to use a weighted grading system and having categories in this APP is very nice. One thing that would earn it 5 stars from me is the ability to copy assignments from one class to all others instead of having to enter them in for each class. This can be done for class rosters already and shouldn't be too hard to do I'd imagine. In spite of that one "con", I've been totally happy with this app and look forward to using it for many years to come.

Good reports, clean interface. My wife and I are both teachers using gradebook pro. It's been very helpful for speeding up our grading and for making quick reports. Entering grades into an ipad is fast, and unlike a laptop you can walk around and grade students. The convienence is wonderful. The program offers weighted averages by categories (such as tests, quizzes, homework) and it is easy to exempt students from a particular assignment. Attendance can be taken quickly. I would like to see a way to enter grades that do not figure into a student's final grade (allow to possibility of 0% weight). The author provided quick responses to our emails. While there have been some minor glitches, they are fixed promptly.

Love This App!. The best part of the app is reporting grades for mid-terms. All I do is run a report and all my students' grades (assignment and class grades) are already calculated and ready to be submitted. The feature that allows you to clone assignments from one course to the next is brilliant! I've shown this app to several seasoned educators and they all love it. The iPhone integration is also very useful. It's not always feasible to carry an iPad around. The iPhone integration allows me to have all my class resources with me no matter what the situation. I'd love to see a lesson plan module added to the app. But if that feature doesn't come, GradeBook Pro is still at the top of my list of highly recommended apps. LOVE THIS APP!

Suggestions for updates. I love this app, but I would love to see some additional features. It would be great to be able to make seating charts for each class. Also, I would like to have two additional report options. First to be able to print out my gradebook showing all assignments as well as all students on the same page. Also, I would like to be able to print the student notes on a grade report. There is a place to put general student comments on the roster screen, but they don't get printed unless it is about a particular assignment. To respond to the comment about multiple emails: if you put a comma after the student email you can add another email address.

How the heck am I supposed to back up my data.. The Dropbox link stopped working (this is from the Dropbox people-it hasn’t worked in months). This my go to app. What should I do. Developers please help!!

Very helpful. I'd give it 5 stars if it could copy all the information of the student if the student is transferred to another class. It's a real pain having to re-type all the grades and attendance, especially if it's late in the semester and there is a lot of information. Also, can there be a way to enter "M" for missing? It would count as zero. Need to be able to print the student roster for substitute teachers to take attendance.

Unfortunate. This was a great app, but apparently it's a dead end now. No update since Feb. 2016. Developer website is gone. No response from support. They should really pull this from the store if they've given up on it.

Missing some must have features. I just downloaded this app because I wanted to get away from the paper grade book. I already have an attendance app but thought this would be good. I'm hesitant to use it bc it's missing a few very important features that are useful as a high school teacher. First off, is there a way you use your roster to pick groups of different sizes? This would really help when trying to pick random lab groups or you just need to call on a student and want it totally random. Another attendance app does this and it's extremely useful. Also, it would be nice if we could add our own absence button. For instance, if a student was in ISS, I could use add that as an absent result instead of just the absent button. High school teachers have many different reasons students are out and we need to keep track of that. And last, a time stamp would be nice to record when the students came into class for tardy purposes. If these things can be added, I will happily change my rating. Right now, I'm a little bummed that I just paid $10 and can't get a refund.

Decent app, great customer service. This is my firt app review and I wouldnt be writing it if it wasnt for the great customer support. I was reluctant at first with a very stiff price tag of ten dollArs. But after using it for a couple months, I am about 85% satisfied with my purchase. First, the app design isnt pretty. Grey bAckground and plain textures and design is a big turn off. There are a few bugs here and there with the current version. If you can look pass these drawbacks, it is a good app that does its job. The customer service I must say is the best Ive seen in any product I have ever used. All my problems, questions were answered almost instantly. It really feels like my voice is being heard and the app is evolving each update. The app still needs some polish but with the progress the developers are making, it wont be long until the product becomes perfect. Keep up the good work guys!

Still Supported?. I still use it, but I'm having problems with backing up the data to DropBox. I tried to contact the developer, but cannot. I see the last update was in Feb. 2016. And nothing since. Until the developer says that this app is still viable, I suggest potential buyers look elsewhere.

Best Purchase I Have Made on the App Store!. I am a college professor and I love, love, love this app! First and foremost, the developer is exceptionally responsive. He bends over backward to address problems and concerns and is very responsive to customer requests/wish lists. His app updates align with new iOs updates and are lightning fast. The interface of this app is clean and simple to use; but, don’t let it deceive you. Behind that simplicity lies the heart of a beast. It backs up to Dropbox in moments; sends out grade/attendance reports that are as detailed, or as simplistic, as you want them to be; allows you to configure your grading system in multiple ways; and even allows you to take a picture of your students for the roster! Are there small things I would like to see? Sure, an easier way to upload rosters being one of them, but no app is perfect. I know it’s 10 dollars, but, take a deep breath and jump in because it is worth that and more!

Awesome teacher's app with split screen support!!. This is a great grade-book. I use it to keep track of the grades and attendance for all my classes. It is well designed. The report generator and Dropbox backup/restore are great. I love the split view support on my iPad Pro, which I use all the time. There is a lot to love about this app and I would recommend it to any teacher.

Now unusable!. So sad that this hasn’t been updated in so long that it no longer works. Bought the full version of this years ago and have relied on it; suddenly the connection to Dropbox is completely defunct. Alas! Do not buy this.

No more connectivity between GradeBook Pro and Dropbox. I am a big fan of this application however, recently it stopped linking up to Dropbox which unfortunately is the only cloud service it allows for backing up grades, etc. One can no longer get help because the website for help is gone. I am unsure why this has happened but its unfortunate given that this application allowed me and those I recommended the application too to do many things when it came to grading. I will refrain from recommending it. By far its the most user friendly application that saves anyone submitting grades, reports, etc time.

Great App. I don't usually spend this much for apps, but am really glad I did for this one. It was money well spent. I started using this app this summer and love it. It is easy to use and provides most of the functions I need it to have. It is a great help that I can show a student their own grades without the worry that they will see those of another student. (Major violation of privacy laws!) After viewing it on my iPad, a colleague also adopted it and is very satisfied. I do wish that there was a way to mark that an assignment has been turned in before I am ready to enter the grade. It apparently won't allow the entry of comments until a number is entered, and if I just enter zero, it messes up the averages for the student and the assignment. As other reviewers have mentioned, the ability to note a zero versus a no- grade would be nice too. I also wish that there was a way to just "hide" the data for students that have dropped, excluding them from current averages and attendance records without actually having to delete them. If it is there, I haven't found it. I am still keeping a paper grade book just to make sure that I have all those records at hand. (Old fashioned I know, but it works!). I had a scare with data loss during the iOS5 update process, but was able to get everything back. I had sent myself the report before installation, but hadn't done it correctly. Afterwards, I made sure I learned how to do the reports properly. Overall, a great app.

Love this App but.... I’ve been using this App for maybe 6 years now? I love it and it does everything I could ask for and then some. It doesn’t however update anymore, which makes it hard to sync with Drop Box and trust that it will always keep working. Would love for the developer to give an update or a comparable app.

The best. UPDATE: I DONT THINK THIS IS BEING MAINTAINED ANYMORE. IT AT LEAST FOR ME HAS STOPPED WORKING WITH DROPBOX. This is the best grading app. Complete in every way and does everything teachers need. The reports are grade and backs up to Dropbox. Perfect! I have bought many of them here and they all lacked something I needed. Grade book pro does everything.

Amazing App - Amazing Developer. I have tried and paid for several gradebook apps. Most were too cutesy or used an old paradigm of one term, one course, etc. This app has really brought the ease of the iPad to the gradebook. One can access any of their courses from the main screen, in fact the main screen is everything...very easy to use. Tap and you grade this paper, tap you're in another course. Yet, it also supports grading all the same assignment at one time or as they appear in my pile mixed together it makes it an ease. And the photo thing...amazing, quick and easy...also uses has access to photostream. Taking attendance is also a breeze, GradebookPro displays all the students you just tap the large icons for Present, Absent or Tardy. Reporting is amazing, a single tap can produce all the reports and you can email them to the students or just produce the files and deal with like any file. I purchased the app just as iOS 5 came out and the developer was quick to fix the error and resolve the issue. To put it in the teachers vernacular... A+!

Fantastic app. It's all you need.. I began using this app this semester. I am very happy with its ease of use. I have a complicated grading rubric, with several categories of assessments that are all weighted differently. GradeBook Pro allows me to set things up in detail. The attendance tool is quick. I can include pictures of my students on the attendance list, which is helpful. In addition, this app provides the current grade for each student based upon the grades that are completed so far and their weight towards the final grade. Very convenient! It also allows you to exempt an assignment for a particular student, a useful feature. I had some problems importing grades from my Excel spreadsheet into the app. I asked for help and got a response on the same day. It took a couple of emails to get the problem sorted out and the response time from support was always very quick. The problem was how I had set up my template, not with the app. I can import grades now, just fine. I tried some other grading apps, but none had the adaptability and inclusiveness of this one. It's definitely worth the cost.

Essential tool for K-12. I have used this app for this past school year. I teach music for PreK through 12th grades. I hate doing grades, evaluating behavior, weighting exams & homework,recording attendance, etc. I'd rather spend my time teaching. Paper gradebooks are tedious for me. I have to turn in weekly grades for my secondary kids, do midterm quarterlies, interact with parents, just like the rest of the teaching world. However - it's just a few clicks every day now, and allows me to enter notes for elementary behaviors, send a quick email to a parent or student, send my weeklies to the administrator - customized with whatever data he requires. The reports function is incredibly rich and flexible. At the end of the year, I print out the data for permanent records, and backup via Dropbox, where I can use a second iOS device if necessary in case I leave my iPad at home for some reason. It is totally worth it, my life is much easier now!!

Amazing app. I have been using GradeBook Pro for four years to keep track of student grades and progress in college courses, and I still love it. I use the app both on my iPhone and iPad (while there is no syncing that I am aware of, it is pretty easy to backup from one device and then sync the other device with that backup). It is an easy app to use, and it allows me to easily access student grades on the go. The app is also very customizable in terms of assignments, figuring grades, and keeping track of attendance. I also like that attendance and grades are kept in one place and that I don't have to remember to bring anything but my phone with me to class. One of the best features is how easy it is to set up categories and assignments with their assigned point values at the beginning of the semester; a progress bar lets me know if all students have grades entered for any given assignment, and percentages are shown by each student name so that I can easily see current grades of all students. Another great feature is that I can email students directly from the app--it has never been easier to share a progress report directly with a student. Yet another nice feature is that I can copy components from one course to another; because I regularly teach two sections of the same course, it is nice to only have to create the categories and assignments in one course. Once they are in one course, I can simply copy that information to another section without redoing the work. There are so many other amazing features, which is why I regularly recommend this app to my colleagues, and I recommend it to anyone who teaches and wants a digital grade book.

Do not buy! No Longer Supported!. I paid full price for this and have been dependent upon it for several years. But it is no longer supported, so it is a very risky place to keep your grades and attendance information, as it is impossible to back this information up in Dropbox or anywhere else. They are no longer updating it when IOS updates come out, so it is eventually going to stop working. What a nightmare it will be for anyone who uses it as a place to record their grades and then find the app crashing or nonfunctional, with no access to your grades.

Time saver- what more can a teacher ask for?. I am a middle school math teacher and i love this app! I was reluctant to spend this much an app but it's so worth it. My favorite features are the ability see who is missing assignments in each section with one click, as well as viewing each student's average in each category. My students love it too as they can now come ask me about their grade and I can tell them exactly what is bringing it down and they can see their average in each category. In addition, it allows me to write myself notes on how far I got in each section which is extremely helpful since I teach multiple sections of the same course. It makes it so easy to check homework too as I can walk around the room with just my iPad in hand instead of a bulky laptop. You will not regret buying this app!

Not quite there!. Some cool features as far as the reports and layout go, but there is no seating chart and inputting grades for each student takes too long. You can't give scores with a touch of a button, you have to navigate through each student to input scores, and there is not a option to input score for all. I was hoping for something easier than using my desktop to input grades but this app is not there yet. If it allowed you to click a box to assign a score in one open window it would make the app worth it, but the way it is set up it takes too long to input one score for each student as you have to click on the student, click on the assignment, click on points, type the score in, close window and repeat for each student... So if you want to walk around the room and check in homework real quick, this app will not fit the bill. It also does not offer a missing assignment option, you must assign a grade. You could leave it blank but it does not count as a zero in calculating grades. It would be nice to be able to email the missing assignments to all students with a click of a button. Maybe after a few more updates this app will be worth it.

Bring back support. This is (was) a great app. It slow is loosing support. I would not recommend spending the money unless support is brought back. Too many apps I paid for are no longer working because of os updates. I pray this app doesn’t stop! If support returns I’ll change 3 to 5 star review.

Teacher's life saver!. This is such an easy and intuitive program. Importing students names, ID, e-mail addresses is a little time consuming as you have a few steps of prep work for that. It still saves a lot of time if you teach at college level and # of your students are over 100. As noted in previous comments, it would be nicer that program calculates total points for attendance. Another big plus is that this program' s developer is super helpful and always responds in a timely manner. I really appreciate his help!!!! He really helped me to get started. I spent so much money on the grading programs for my Mac without virtually no tech support. So this is such a bargain! Also, a more expensive program often charges for extra features like providing grade online. In this program it is so easy to send a grade report to a student by e-mail and you do not have to pay extra for that! I also love the portability that now I can take this with me anywhere! I am sure this program will save so much time I spent for grading and reporting grades in the past. Well worth the money I spent! Thanks so much for creating such a good program and provide us for an affordable price!

Great tool!. I really enjoy using this app to keep track of student progress. I keep all of my 3rd Grade assignments logged into this app. It gives me great peace of mind because I do not have to worry about misplacing a paper grade book; it all stays on my phone which I always have with me. The app developer is very responsive and helpful; he responded to a question I had about how to do something right away. It is a very basic tool, but so is a paper grade book. Pros: -User-friendly interface -Simple design -Ability to export reports -Grades at a glance -Stable app; doesn't crash -Backup available --Dropbox & iCloud Cons: -Not synced with Google Classroom -No ability to utilize Google Drive -Outdated look/feel

Used to love it.... I used to love this app. I used it for 2+ years with little to no issues. I loved that it allowed me so much more flexibility than a paper grade book or the internet based one my district provided. But I have discovered a large problem that has rendered the app pointless for me. I could not create categories with weights, therefore all of students grades calculations were incorrect. I reported it and have received no support. I contacted support about this issue and received the standard "we are looking into it" email and then nothing for weeks. I contacted support again and have received no response. I have now gone and entire marking period with this now pointless app. Unfortunately, it looks like if they cannot figure it out soon, I am going to have to find another app to replace it. Such a shame.

Used to love it. I used to love this app. It was the best grade book I ever used. Now, grades can mysteriously disappear and there’s no way to back it up to dropbox or other back up functions like you used to be able to do. So now, each time I enter grades, I email a great report to myself to keep as an archive copy just in case I need to look for things. If the developer reads this, please work on its functionality and making it possible to link again to drop box for back up.

Incredible!. This is the absolutely best grade book that I have ever used! I like the idea that my student data can be updated wherever I am. Set-up is very user friendly. The app's user manual is both well-written and comprehensive. Update: Grade Book Pro will no longer work with Drop Box after September 23, 2017--not unless it is updated. This is still a five star app, but It has not been updated since February 2016. I think the developer has quit updating his app.

Used to Be Wonderful but now.... This app was amazing a couple of years ago. It was functional, easy to use, and flexible. I felt it was secure and I could back up my grades and databases with Dropbox. Now Dropbox will not connect with the app. I have looked for places to find help, but it looks as if this app is no longer supported. I cannot find any info on a newer version or help with connecting to Dropbox. I would try backing the app up with another service like Google Drive, but Dropbox is the only service that “works” with GradeBook Pro. I will have to find another app to use if this issue is not resolved soon. My grades need to be able to be backed up. If I were to lose this data my job could be in jeopardy. NOT HAVING A BACKUP IS A NECESSARY SERVICE.

Love the new update!. This app just keeps getting better! Honestly, it saves me so much time with my job. Everything organised and easy to use, and if you do have any trouble, the customer support is excellent! When it comes time to write end-of-year marks, all the other teachers are shuffling through papers, trying to find what they're looking for, but I'm finished in half the time. The students also like it, and enjoy seeing their photos and having all their grades listed so they can easily see how well they're doing. Love it! If I can please make one request though, I would love to have a seating chart feature. Currently I'm using a different app for this, but it's unreliable, and I would prefer to have it all in one app. Maybe even being able to 'tap' the seats on the chart to take attendance? That would be nice! Other than this one thing, this is the best teacher app I've found and I've tried several. Keep up the great work!

Love it!. Been using it for quite a few years and It is great! Only one suggestion, the ability to delete more than one student at a time. That would save time at the beginning of each year.

Continues to Impress. I started using this app last school year, and experimented with it for a trimester before deciding whether or not I could switch all of my key planning/grading pieces to the iPad (plan book, grade book, notepad, etc.). This year I decided to go for it, abandon my computer grade book and go exclusively with this app. I have not been disappointed. It's easy to use, updating class info is easy, and I can easily communicate information to my parents with a few quick touches. This app is very well thought out, and the support from the developer is first rate. Updates always seem to have teachers in mind, which is always refreshing! Keep up the good work!

Sad to see it die.... This is the best app for teachers. However, it seems that they abandoned it since there is no updates or support. Someone mentioned that it seems that they sold it. If that is the case I wouldn't be surprised if another company bought it so they could kill it. Most apps require Monthly fees and this one does not. PLEASE COME BACK!

GREAT APPLICATION!. ANOTHER UPDATE AS OF 2/8/12: Developer was incredibly quick in addressing the last issue. A fix should be out soon, but I learned that the issue came from using iOS 4.3. I updated to iOS5 and don't seem to be having any issues. For those still having a problem because you're using an older OS for you iPad, use the update that should be out very soon. UPDATE AS OF 2/7/12: LATEST VERSION IS CAUSING PROBLEMS WITH ATTENDANCE AND CRASHES IN ATTENDANCE MODE!! INPUTS ABSENCES FOR WRONG STUDENTS OR CLEARS INFORMATION. I'M OBVIOUSLY CONCERNED ABOUT GRADE PROBLEMS ALSO BEING AN ISSUE ALTHOUGH DATA HAVE YET TO BE INCLUDED FOR NEW SEMESTER. THIS DEVELOPER HAS BEEN GREAT SO I TRUST THE ISSUE WILL BE RESOLVED ASAP!! I'LL UPDATE ONCE BUG IS FIXED. Another great update! Just a wonderful app!! I would REALLY like to see a seating chart added to this ... maybe configuring the attendance page to a seating-chart format where you can still take attendance??? That would be fantastic! This is what you get when you have a developer who listens and who cares about his product. This app keeps getting better and better, making my profession in the classroom perfectly manageable. Has potential. A novice would really struggle with the interface! I couldn't download to dropbox, but that could have been my Internet. 3 stars for potential, but over priced. I couldn't workout how to copy students, would have been nice to see a one click button. Emailed tech support who were very good in all honesty.

Grade book is excellent. Fantastic app. Easy to use. New changes are great. I have my iPad in class and add grades instantly and email to my computer. Brilliant I get so excited when there's an upgrade it just gets better. I love the mark all tab. Just what I wanted

Well worth it. After wasting time and money on similar apps I feel like I struck gold here. This app is fantastic and I have pretty much discarded my teacher's diary in favour of GradeBook Pro. Everything I need is here to keep track of attendance and grades. I can export test results to my PC and make graphs charting performance and attendance. Love it. Look forward to more functionality being added!

GradeBook Pro. Hi, I have used this app for a number of years and it has been rewarding with what it had to offer. However it does not function using Dropbox and despite numerous emails to the Developer I’ve had no response. I noticed that all the reviews are several years ago? Nothing recently. Until Eric Lombardo and someone with the support team get in contact I would strongly advise not purchasing the app or using another. I’m sorry but it’s not functioning despite numerous attempts to try and backup to other formats.

Finally, an app for teachers that delivers!. I have tried a number of apps that promised to free me from paper and simplify my day-to-day tasks. Their success in delivering varied from complete failure to limited ability to fulfill their promises. Now, truth be told, I hesitated a lot paying the price for this one, but desperate as I was I decided not to give up and gave it a go. For the first time a was able to setup all my classes exactly the way I needed them. In addition to that, I was also able to setup all junior and senior assessment pieces taking into account more than one criteria for each, in conjunction with weighted marking!!! The interface, although on the 'dry side' of things, is functional and free of unnecessary visual distractions. A couple of things that would greatly increase the utility of this fantastic app: 1. Great app. It has a lot of features you need in one app. it has replaced a lot of my paper and other apps. I have emailed the developer for some extra key features, like a seating plan and timetable. So I expect it will only improve.

Highly Recommend!. When our school first purchased iPads for the staff here at our Perth, Western Australian school we selected GradeBook Pro as a compulsory App for our teachers to use in class. GradeBook Pro has been a very smart choice. We are able to email our class absentees directly to our Student Services team each morning (or even each class if necessary). The standard or weighted assessment function works very well for our Australian Curriculum and the students know exactly how they are going or areas where they need to improve, right there, on the spot! And the ability to email student's progress to either our Deputy Admin team or directly to parents has allowed instantaneous response regarding our reporting. Since it was first released the Developer has continually improved the App and listened to our feedback to make this App one of the best teacher's classroom management, grading and reporting Apps available. We could not have wished for a better App for our Australian classroom conditions. The letter grading and behaviour management labeling has been a fantastic inclusion (Upgrade 2.70). I highly recommend GradeBook Pro for any classroom teacher.

Loving it!. I'm loving this grade book app, so much better than carrying my mark books around. The only improvement I would make is an area where teachers can attach their lesson plans and units to the assessments. That way everything is in one place. So helpful!!

Grade book pro is extremely practical. I really like this app as it makes grading or assessing students in a practical setting heaps easier than using pen and paper. One simple addition that I think would improve it would be a straightforward tick system to show which students have or haven't submitted an assignment BEFORE it is graded.

Great app. Love the app for attendance and marking,however, would like to be able to add and additional email address so I could email parents at the same time as the student. This would certainly then be a five star app.

Best grading program ever. I've taught for over 30 years and have used many marking programs. GradeBook Pro is the best I've ever used. Amazing for Teachers. This is an excellent app for teachers, especially if you travel from room to room. The best feature by far, is the "finding missing assignments". You know how you are always trying to keep track of the late assignments or not handed in? This feature pulls all the missing assignments up in 2 seconds. Keeps me much more organized. I now have no physical mark book - I enter marks right on app. Lots of ways to back up the info - so don't worry. Even with the feature of "run reports" you can email yourself all the marks. So fast. If you don't want to use Dropbox. I run a report and email myself after every major entry of assignment and I always had a backup. But, in the two years I've been using the app, never needed it! It's fantastic! I never write reviews, but this one app is worth the time, effort and very reasonable price. Thank you developers. I love your app! You've saved me so much time!

Only app I use. I generally like the app. I stopped using drop box to import the students so I never realized it was no longer supported. I just have students type their names in so it doesn’t really matter. It is a basic grading program that does what one would expect it to do. It could use a refresh though.

GREAT APP!!!!!. I've been using this app this past summer with summer school and am VERY excited about using it this school year. This app works FAR better than ANY of the "Marking Apps" in the App Store, including Marksbook. Believe me, I've downloaded them all and have played around with the interface. Any "bugs" in the app have been IMMEDIATELY updated and it seems like the developers REALLY want this to be the best app out there and they will do whatever it takes to satisfy their customers. I LOVE the Dropbox feature, I LOVE the layout.

Fantastic Tool. For the past two years, I've used a paper-free assessment book. This is my only tool and it gets the job done! To improve, I'd like better ability to add an assignment, and enter grades in one screen, rather than add an assignment, save it, open it, enter data... Just being picky.

Good app. I appreciate the convenience of being able to enter attendance and marks as I wander around the classroom, and the ability to email grade & attendance reports. BUT I really wish I could add comments to individual student reports so as to use them for send-home Interim Reports - I still have to use another program to do this.

Death of a great app. No longer works with Dropbox which renders useless. Constant error 400 message.

Good and tricky. All of it is quite well thought out, nice intuitive interface, flexible and clear. The only drawback (and it might be because I'm lazy) is the import feature; quite tricky and somewhat useless in this state. Entering data manually is easy, importing a class list is a real bummer! Their's one way and only way to achive this (good explanation in the help section though) and it involves (for me at least) a lot of fiddling around inbetween softwares, from Excel (Numbers doesn't work for this) to TextEdit to final adjustments in GradeBook itself, lots of wasted hours to kickstart it... Once this hurdle is passed it works like a charm.

Decent but needs some basic features. Useful but as it is I don't see myself replacing my desktop program with it yet. I love the Dropbox integration and being able to add pictures using the camera. However, the fact that I cannot weight entries, or at least scale marks after entering to change relative values is very annoying. The app also needs more data field, for gender, parent email, and so on. Being able to enter multiple marks would be helpful Good job, but needs some functionality.

Great App. I have used this app for a full term and it works flawlessly. Even setting up a new term was easy. Worth every penny.

Almost perfect. The best teacher app so far. Notes allow you to create rubrics and add student comments while they're working. For elementary teachers, it would be helpful to be able to create a master list of students and import them rather than having to create a new list of students for each subject.

Fantastic app for college professors!. I used this app for ALL my grading and attendance this past spring semester. I'd give it 10 stars if I could. It helped me learn the names of the 60 students I had in my 2 classes (thanks to the photos), and I was able to keep track of grading multiple assignments, and calculate final grades in a fraction of the time it used to take me with my old excel spreadsheet. The developer is also very accessible and adds new features when requested. I'm recommending this to the IT department at my college, hoping that more faculty will use it! Thanks for a great app!!!

Great app. I love this app for calculating my college students' grades. It's very easy to use, and I love that I can import roster information from an Excel file and send students their grade summary by email. If I may suggest a minor improvement: in the settings menu can you allow instructors to use a default email address for all mail within the app? It is tedious to change the email address for each message from my personal email to my work email.

LOVE IT! Very Helpful!. I've been using this app for two semesters so far and I love it. Initial set up of class, roster, and images take a little bit of time. Wish there was an easier way to do that, tried to import roster but I could never get it to work. I also wish there was a little better documentation. Future add on wish list: a way to break up individual grades for assignments. We have projects that are graded on 4 or 5 different items such as Aesthetic, Technique, Presentation and Participation. Would be nice to have this added to one grade.

Makes attendance painless. My college demands detailed attendance records because the government requires them to document attendance to receive federal aid. Having GradeBook on my phone has taken all the hassle out of the record keeping. I love it. I don't keep grades on it; those go in Blackboard. I gave up fiddling with roster imports and just type the names in: takes 10 minutes once a semester. (Classes <30 students.) I love the student notes where I can keep track of all the individual issues that arise. Great app that has made an annoying part of my job so much easier.

Now I have -don't want to be without it!. My students are so wowed that I'm recording their attendance and grades with this app on my iPad. No more 3 ring binder, no more hunting for a pencil, no more photocopying my attendance sheets every month. Even my school principal was impressed. I did lose some data during the OS upgrade but that bug appears to have been quickly dealt with by the developer and I received a response when I sent a message. Now I just make sure I backup, email myself the data, or use Dropbox. Use this app - it works.

Excellent app. I am hooked on this app. I started using this with some of my graduate classes and immediately stopped using Blackboard as my grade host. I can take my roster and identify students in my large class by using the photo function. My students also like the grade updates via email. Taking attendance is a breeze now. Well worth the price! 5 stars

Best cash ever spent. This app has seriously cut down the work load for me as a teacher. I was once told that any tool that makes your job easier its worth getting and rhis app serves that exact purpose. From organization, tabulation, storage and easy access to getting the harcopy version this app allows you to do all. If you are a single subject teacher its very helpful. The app, however, needs the option to separate by subject for teachers that teach several subjects to a single group. Other than that this app is indeed a must for every teacher out there.

Great App. This is a great app. I have used many grade book apps over the last twenty years. I have been using the same program on my laptop for the last five years and have been very happy with it. Now that I have an iPad I have been searching for a grade book program and this is the best. More importantly the developer is very responsive to questions and I have noticed he has frequent updates based on the feedback he gets. I believe this app will continue to improve and lead the field.

Great App, better customer service. I don't usually spend money on apps, but this one was well worth it. Not only is it an effective classroom tool, but the developer is incredibly responsive when you have questions or problems with it. It takes so much of the hassle and paperwork out of attendance taking and grade keeping, and I'm actually looking forward to when my AP comes for a surprise visit wanting to see my grade book!

Simply Amazing. I am using this app in my university class. I am a couple weeks into the semester and have already fallen in love. Roster can be imported from excel or csv?! Notes can be added anywhere? Weighted grading? This is great to a political philosophy professor. This app is incredible and I can't recommend it Any higher.

Excellent!. This is the best grade book I have used. Pros: You can easily set up classes. If you teach the same students for several subjects, you can copy the information to each class. You can take pictures of each child (using the iPad) and import them. It is easy to edit or delete assignments. Emailing the reports or backing up the data to Dropbox is a breeze. User-friendly in the classroom Cons: You can't copy from one class to multiple classes at one time. It is a little difficult to set up quarters (until you figure it out).

GREAT APP. Worth the price. Helped me transition from teaching with my MacBook pro to exclusively with my iPad. love this app. Works great. I teach 12 class, twice a week. I was using a MS Excel spreadsheet database that I created a few years ago with all sorts of formulas to calculate everything. This app does all that for me now. Some drawbacks: 1. Sometimes crashes 2. While using weighted categories, can't deduct from the total grade for things like a punishment assignment, late to class, no notebook for only 1 student. You have to create a whole assignment for the whole class. 3. If a student is absent and you're entering grades, there's no way to see who's absent while in the assignment entering grades. You have to exit the assignment and go into the day's attendance to see and then go back to the assignment.

Simple to set up really efficient in the classroom. This app has cut my workload in half! I am very pleased with it! Suggestions: It would be great to be able to email out a single grade with the notes. I teach Art at the college level and I would love to be able to email the notes I take during their critique along with the grade they received. When finished writing in notes, any formatting is erased. It makes it more difficult to refer back to when you have to read though an unformatted block of text. Some sort of class participation element would be awesome. For example, I tally the amount of participation during class critiques. Currently I have to note it on a clip board and add it into the app later. A simple name tapping strategy would be great. Maybe that could be a fly out on the side so I don't have to direct away from what I am looking at to do it?

Glad I purchased this app!. I teach online and ground college courses...this app has replaced my paper grade book completely...everything at my fingertips is so convenient no matter where I am! I had a tech issue, support solved my problem immediately. I really appreciate that!

Great Class Management App. I teach a graduate level design class, and I was skeptical about using an app to manage the class, but now I consider it an essential tool. No more lugging around a laptop and maintaining different spreadsheets for different sections and tasks. I knew everyone's name by week 2 because of the photo feature. Calculating Midterm and final grades is incredibly easy.

Fixed Issues Quickly. Very fast response to some issues that arose after the last upgrade. Seems to be working fine now. I have become totally dependent on this app to record attendance, grades, and to quickly learn students' names by having their photos in front of me when I call the roll.

Works Great!. The best app I've used for grading, attendance and reports. I have used my own Excel creation, Teacher's Pet and a couple of other apps. This app works! I can open the iPad (no boot up time), take attendance, update students on their progress and check the upcoming schedule of assignments. Our college uses Blackboard but I have found it to be too time consuming and cumbersome. I can back up the database and email reports to students quickly. I highly recommend using this app.

Easy and smooth. I wanted to get rid of the paper rank book. GBPro is all that and more: I've also ditched the paper journal of notes on students from meetings. It's all going into the app from now on. I'm also keeping much better attendance records. Grading is much easier than I thought it would be. Plus, during the one hiccup I had in creating a certain .csv file, Eric from Lombardo Development has been super responsive and proactive. Very active development going on! I've tried a couple other iPad grading apps, and this one is my favorite.

Nice app!. I did wonder if the description was a bit embellished, but now I say no. I am very impressed with the app so far. The only thing I haven't figured out how to do is remove a student from a class. You can mark a student as "dropped" but they still appear in the class roster. A bit of a bummer on the second day of class to know that name will still show up at the end of the semester. Otherwise, I am completely impressed.

Excellent...a must have. If you are a teacher at any level, you should purchase this app. I have used it for about two years and find it useful and quite comprehensive. The developer updates and improves the app often, is quick to respond to emails, and attempts to integrate suggestions whenever possible. It is well worth the $10 investment especially given the price of grading software.

Good app!. I like how easy it is to use this app. I would like a way to change my default email address so i don't have to change it every time i send an email. I'd also like a way to send individual reports to families in one step, rather than having to go to each student, one at a time, to send progress reports home. Overall, great app. It's nice to be able to carry my grade book around the room.

Make the switch!. Put aside any lingering doubts about the ease of use, security, and stability of this application. As a college professor, GBP gives me instant, intuitive access to semester after semester of grades, and provides blank media boxes for all my 'caveats'--excellent participation on a given day, short comments about why a grade was 85 instead of 87. Exporting grades (just in case) is also a snap. If technophiles find 'problems,' they might be searching for them. Makes my iPad a comprehensive grade book.

Great app. This is a great program. As a college professor I use it regularly. I like the new updates as well. If you have any problems or questions, the developer gets right back to you. I look forward to the attendance feature with the upcoming update. Would give it five stars when the attendance update comes....

Wonderful!. I do not normally write review but I have now used this app for a full school year and have not had a single problem. It's the first electronic grade book with such ease of use (I've formally used Engrade, Jupiter grades and a custom excel sheet) that I've encountered. I've also recommended the app to several colleagues who are using and loving it. Finally, I wrote in with a question and got a near instant response. Can't give this app enough prase!

Nearly all data gone several weeks into the semester. I will not be using this app until this issue is resolved. I kept attendance and grades using this app for the first several weeks of this semester until I opened it up last week to find that most of my students and thus their grades and attendance had been deleted. I contacted the developers via their website a week ago and haven't heard from them. I no longer trust this app and would not recommend purchasing it.

Don't leave home without it.... I'm really impressed with this app; within the first hour after purchasing, I had entered every student (and their info) of one of my classes, attendance, assignments, weighted grades and emailed each of them their grades report to date. I had been doing all this with 4 different applications (Numbers, Pages, Address Book and Mail) but never thought I could do it this fast. This will definitely make my life easier. And the developer responded to a mini-wish list I sent him within hours. Superb.

Love it. I use this app everyday for my grades. I teach middle school and love the easy access, accesibility, and backup option. Averages everything for me. I just wish I could weight individual assignments, i.e. one counts more than another but it still works very well for my needs. No crashes yet and I hav used since Sept. I also wish there were a drop down or key to input grades faster, i.e. the letter q= 95, w= 85 and so on....

revised. I am editing this review due to the EXTREMELY quick response I got from their support team over an issue of deleted data. I have loved this app for a while now but was very dissapointed when it deleted my files. Their support has been second to none and they are working on fixing the issue. I am very impressed with the developers willingness to address the problem I had.

Replaced my grade book. Love everything about this app. I do have a few wishes though. 1) That the assignments had an end date feature for those that take more than one day 2) that when I'm entering grades for an assignment that there is some visual reference to see if a students missed any days during that time period and... 3) What happened to being able to sort students in a different order. I loved being able to use the student id field to number students according to a seating chart.

Excellent program. I'm a college instructor and use this app for all my classes. It's easy to set up the classes and add students. My favorite part is the ability to create individual grade report for students and email them. Taking attendance is also very simple. The only thing I wish for is the ability to import students from a .csv or xls file.

Very responsive customer service. I've been using GradeBook Pro for several semesters and I like it. I mostly use it for attendance. I initially had difficulty importing my roster fro Blackboard. However GradeBook Pro's Eric Lombardo was responsive and patient and assisted me in correcting the problem of transferring the data from one platform to another. I like that I can add images of the students. I do that on the first day of classes. Additionally, I like that I can add their email addresses and student ID numbers. I typically email the student a status update about mid-semester. That task is super easy and quick thanks to this app. I'm hopeful about using the grading features, but right now that task is easier for me via Blackboard b/c I create the assignments there w/all of the details. The integration w/Dropbox is nice, but I'd like to see some support of other platforms like Box and Copy.

Best way to track grades!. I have used this app for several years and it just keeps getting better and better. The developer is responsive and continually works to update his product to meet the needs of teachers. It is clean and intuitive and very customizable. I recommend this to all the teachers I know. And it is reason alone to get an iPad!

A must have for any teacher. I am an elementary teacher entering into my 2nd year using this app, and it keeps getting better! A must have for any teacher with an ipad. The developer continually adds to the program, and is unbelievably responsive with suggestions and questions. Without a doubt, my most useful app.

Fantastic Grading App. I took a chance with Gradebook Pro, and it was totally worth it. The app makes management of attendance, grades rosters, etc. very simple, and displays the information in an easy to read format. There are things that I'd like to see included in a future release (automatic highlighting of failing grades or grades below a user-specified number would be helpful), but overall it a very well-deisgned app with a lot of great features. Updates are relatively common, and the developer has been good about responding to problems I've had in the past. Absolutely worth the price.

Love it...with a few minor adjustments. I love this app but would suggest making a few changes to make communicating with parents easier. Currently, the emailed parent report is not reader-friendly. There's too much information included in the report and it's difficult to read. Basically parents want to be able to know their child's overall average, the assignment titles & grades, and attendance. Once these improvements are made, this will be a winner, for sure! By the way, the developer responds quickly and is very receptive to suggestions. That, in and of itself is deserves 5 stars!!

Thank you. This grade book is excellent! Our school switched to an antiquated and outdated monster Gradequick which is totally user -unfriendly. This app is what I will use daily, and will enter the grades from this grade book into the required Gradequick just once a week. This grade book is a tool that allows the teacher to use assessment as it should be used - to inform the teacher and student about the progress in learning. Thank you for bringing grade books into the 21 century!

Simple and powerful. This has all the essential tools: the ability to track multiple courses and multiple quarters, the basic info needed for each student including parent email and notes, assignment info including easily visible grade and completion rates, and the ability to pull rosters in from my school's gradebook. I am extremely happy with this app because it has all these features while remaining very simple to figure out.

Extremely Good. This is a fantastic app. I am a University instructor, and I use this every day as my working gradebook. The app is very well organized and easy to use - keeping track of attendance, assignments with multiple weights, and basic student information is a snap, and if you have a Dropbox account, backing up your data is trivially easy. I have tried several other gradebook apps, and this is by far the best I've seen.

Getting better and better. If you are still using Excel or doing grades by hand, this program will save you a lot of time. It had transformed my record keeping. I spend minutes instead of hours on grades, attendance, and updating progress reports. The most recent update was very significant. The developer is responsive to questions and requests. It gets an A!

Great app. Love the App. It is going to help me go paperless in the classroom, my mark book was just getting out of control. Makes roll marking easier as all the dates are set up, allows for photographs of students, make remembering names simple. It provides a simple and clear layout and easy to set up. Awesome app, but.... I love this app and all of its features. I use it everyday it makes figuring grades way faster. The only thing I would like to see is a way to accumulate points for attendance so I could use it towards the final grade. In my courses, attendance is required and points accumulate each time my students are present. Other than that, GREAT WORK!!!!!

Best app on my iPad. For me, this app alone made the purchase of an iPad worth it. SImply the best grade/attendance tracker available. And Eric, the developer, has responded to support questions right away. It is all here: the ability to copy assignments from one semester to the next, excused and unexcused attendance, and most importantly, the ability to send students their updated reports after each assignment, effortlessly.

Complex system? A snap!. I generally fuss over assignment weights, hate Excel. Tried other systems, but they were more for K-12 and didn't have the flexibility I wanted. This has great features, and the students love the reports, even when they don't love the grades. Couldnt be better for a university prof, and I'm sure would be ideal for K-12, too

Good, but a little pricey. I've been using grade book pro for about 2 months now and have found it to be a pretty good addition to my app selection. I'm trying to see if it will be a good replacement to the paper grade books I've been keeping for years. As a high school teacher, it helps to be able to have different classes. it would be better if I could have a single class be broken up into quarters and weigh each quarter. Crashes are occasional, but I have yet to lose any data. I would have hesitated less if the app costed less, but it is worth a purchase.

Extremely helpful. This app has revolutionized my grading and record-keeping. As a high school teacher, keeping up-to-date records on all my students is a critical part of my job. I have been seeking something to help improve keeping records for a very long time. I hate paper gradebooks. But I love this app! I would highly recommend it. Very nice app. This is a great app for teaching, I am a college professor and it simplifies all of my tasks into one place, eliminates most all of the paper I used to have, and makes final grading a snap! Customer support is excellent, the developer is back to you in a short time and a few of my suggestions were incorporated into this last update... I've recommended this to a few of my fellow instructors and they are very happy as well.

Almost perfect. I think this app is incredibly solid and the Dropbox backup works perfectly, but I think it's missing one feature that I have found useful in other grading apps – seating charts. If you could add seating charts that use the student photos and names already stored in the class database with a way to randomly "mix" the seating arrangement, that would be great. If it also linked to the attendance record, this app would be perfect.

Good on my iPad.... I love it so far. Was hesitant at first to trust due some crash problems in the past with the desktop version years ago. Works well... I added the parents email along with the students followed by a comma and they both receive the emails. I'd like for the comments to be reflected in the reports. The attendance reports is unclear with multiple dates showing at the bottom of the Statistics report. Transferring (copying) a student from on section to another should be facilitated. As well as copying assignments from one section to another would equally be welcomed. It may see like a lot to ask of an app but I am really trying to free myself up from my desktops.

Grade book Pro. When I had a major concern about the missing data for my Gradebook Pro, I didn't know what on earth to do. As a first year teacher, I was so excited to find this app but when I temporarily lost my data, I was angry and confused. Eric Lombardo DID respond to my queries with a concerned and attentive posture and he got me through the dilemma. Thanks, Mr. Lombardo! I am grateful that I back up my data and that you gave me guidance in how to retrieve it. I highly recommend this product.

Solid grading app. Well worth the expense Simply designate a point value according to the weight an assignment warrants. Performs all calculations instantly, e-mailing grade updates to parents seamlessly beats phone tag. Used a net based district purchased app before that worked well, but this requires much less inputting and clicking to achieve same result, and resides where only I can access data, and disseminate as I see fit -safe from prying eyes -and fingers?
