Sephora. Sephora is one of the better retail store applications. To start with the design while a bit compact and old fashioned is easy to navigate. Mostly any section in the app can be reached from the side menu. The app allows you to search for products in a number of ways whether it be by brand, what’s new, what’s on sale, luxury items, for men, which is helpful to me since most of the items cater to women, and other labels. Users can also use the app to see the latest promotions from the inbox section. The app also has an email me option for items that are out of stock so you will be notified when more comes in. The app allows users to search for store listings and manage their account whether it be to edit information or track store points. The app is even more beneficial to women allowing the booking of makeovers appointments and more tools that could help them come to decisions with the products being sold by the retailer.

Good app but missing a few important things.... This is a great shopping app but to give some constructive criticism it’s missing a few important things and also I find it hard to navigate sometimes/a bit jumbled/too much crammed in. 1. Reviews are super important I think for most people when choosing a new beauty product and while the app does show reviews it’s missing a couple key things: -Photos: I know that people can upload photos to their reviews (I’m assuming on the website) but I guess those photos can also only be seen on aforementioned website because in the reviews people mention the photos they’ve uploaded to the review but I’m unable to access/see them. -Key Words: Some apps with reviews find key words mentioned often and put them at the top for people to click on and filter the reviews they are interested in seeing. The app doesn’t have that. 2. Easy Search-ability- there are too many categories and sub categories and what feels like hidden things. I would rather it be more easy and simple. For instance there was an error with an order I made and I had to search for quite awhile to find the “my orders” tab. 3. A chat customer service feature would be great. 4. Less redirecting to the regular website.

Quick peeks so easy!. I love having this app so I can take a quick peek without being obvious, no need for my iPad or laptop so no one knows what I’m up to. I love that I can search makeup and can make purchases without (my husband) anyone knowing what I’m up to or that I’m not paying attention to them. It works effortlessly and unlike other beauty websites, it gives excellent descriptions of products! The only frustration is that sometimes when selecting my 3 free samples with purchase, I receive something different than what I was looking forward to trying. I’ve been told this is because they run out...it would be nice if they could keep that updated. But bottom line, I LOVE this app! (And ease of purchase gets me in trouble sometimes! Buyer beware! LOL!)

I LOVE SEPHORA. Before I purchase any skincare products, makeup, brushes, hair products this is my go to app. I use this app mainly because it allows me to search for a product which I’m interested.. then I will read the full description, clean is best for me. Then I will read a majority of the reviews because my skin is super sensitive. I have two young daughters so I don’t have time to walk into the store blind, so this app allows me to dedicate myself to exactly what I’m buying, I am able to save the products, make sure they are available in the store near me and then as soon as I get to the store I have what I want so I’m in and out without a cry of my baby! It also doesn’t tempt me to buy other products since I stick to my list. Love it!

It’s an alright app.. Personally I’ve always had problems with this app when it comes to checking out. I’ll put everything in my cart, get ready to checkout with my Apple Pay and then I’ll get an error message. If I want to buy anything online I’ll have to get out of the app and use a web browser to buy from the site. That’s a bit annoying and I’m not sure why that is the case but it is. Another thing is that there are so many out of stock items that aren’t available to be purchased anymore. I wish there would be a feature to filter those items. I also keep getting faulty notifications that something that I wanted is back in stock when it’s really not. I find the app to be user friendly but there could be some changes and improvements.

I love Sephora but this version is not my favorite. Sorry. Normally I would give you guys and gals app a five as a Rouge member. You all are amazing but this version is slightly lacking for my needs. I have problems with my loves list and the try on products feature is very dismal now. I don’t always want to chat now with a beauty expert and find that annoying. I’m often trying to simply read the description of a product and that pops up and I get annoyed and just change my mind. I just need to know if a product will work for sensitive skin or something I don’t always want to chat. But I still love your products even though I lately have been getting samples that I did not want instead of the ones I did request. But I guess that’s life.

Great time and products overnpriced. So I love this app I have gotten the ordinary serum and love it and I got to free samples and they got here a day before it said they would so I love that it sent me a notification when it was shipped and delivered so I never miss a beat on when it will be here if you are like me you always are waiting for it to ship but with this you don’t have to constantly check if you just have to wait for the quick notification the package was very nice and no damage. However the app is great I do think they are over priced for some products and I completely understand why because they take time to handle and make however I do believe they should lower there prices(all Sephora and makeup brands)

Great app with minor complaints. Love the app. One of the best shopping apps generally. Two complaints, which is the 4 stars, is when looking for foundation or lip colors etc. you have to click the colored square without an option of seeing also or in lieu of the name of the color. For example, if you’re looking for a specific colored lipstick, you click through the squares of color to find the name. Searching the name of a specific color doesn’t always work. The second is sometimes the “try on” live, the color looks totally insane And not at all what it really looks like in person (because it looks truly. Crazy). Or, on the other hand, if you use a model,it’s very difficult to even see the product preview. For example, highlighter, eyeshadow or liner, and blush are really difficult to see. the existence of swatches and the try on option is great, I just wish it was tweaked a little. That definitely sets it apart from the Ulta app, which 9/10 doesn’t have any swatches in their product description. But the do let you filter by name. That’s it. Otherwise. Great app. Love Sephora!

Expected a better performing app, basic common sense anti-theft measures for same day delivery. App is buggy and has a hard time with Face ID/password management. It is a pain to switch the delivery method of items in your cart, you often have to do it several times for it to stick. Secondly, and this isn’t exactly the app’s failing but basic back-end measures can easily prevent this if they tried, like at all. CAUTION USERS: if you buy something like perfume or any other expensive, non-complexion item using Same Day Delivery, Sephora either doesn’t have access to the delivery driver’s names/information (?!) nor do they wrap your package inconspicuously, so if you’re unlucky, the delivery person may steal your order and “mark as delivered”. Ask me how I know. Customer service was helpful and restored my order, but I did Same Day because I was going out of town and needed help finishing errands before I left. Complete waste of time.

Frustrating. This app is incredibly frustrating to use. First off, while scrolling through reviews you end up accidentally marking reviews helpful or not helpful...how is that helpful?! Who knows what is legit and what is accidental? I mark reviews accidentally every single time! Secondly, there are glitches when it comes to browsing the products and categories. If you click on a product and then go back, it goes back to the beginning, even if you’re pages in, which is annoying and you have to scroll back down to where you were. The UI is just very difficult to navigate in this app. The website isn’t much better. It’s also impossible to view the item number of your Play box (the monthly sub)on the app, you have to go through a million screens on the desktop site to find it. The tracking updates are slow via the app as well. It’s just very muddled how all the bells and whistles work. They should hire my husband’s UI company to fix this mess lol.

Sephora is a girls best friend!. I love Sephora, and the app! Always fast shipping, always great customer service when you do need them. Package lost in transit? They’ll send you a new package out ASAP with all the items your originally ordered! Not to mention the endless brands they have - always quick to have the latest and greatest in makeup, skincare, perfumes…everything! My favorite part is the Sephora rewards. Coupons you can earn with points gained - or you can keep saving and saving for the ultimate reward! - 10$ off every 500 points (believe me it doesn’t take long to hit that 500 mark) but you can also save to the next bracket of 1,000 for 20$ off…every 500 points. Birthday freebies. Free Trial samples upon check out- it’s just like the store…from home…with the app! (You know for the days you don’t wanna put on all the makeup you bought at Sephora just to go out and public to buy more 😜).

Has been so buggy and difficult to use for YEARS. I have had countless issues with this app and have had to reach out to their technical support team on at least two occasion because of issues like not being able to log in or reset my password and not being able to post reviews. Throughout several updates I have had the consistent issue that when I write a product review it will only allow me to see the first lines in the text window but once I try to type beyond that it keeps everything I type but I cannot see or select it or scroll to it at all it’s just recording hidden text. I have to start deleting from the beginning to make the last thing I typed finally move back to where it’s visible. I literally have to type my review in a separate app and copy and paste it in. It’s astounding that major bugs like this are just overlooked update after update

Same problems and new one's!. I hate the new all white layout! It hurts my eyes!! The Dark Mode feature rolled out for people to use so eye strain doesn't get worse and sephora thought that doing the opposite would help for this app! Sephora needs to rethink there color layout better because since it is morw of an eye strain, it gets used less now. Plus, the should have fixed the app instead of just thinking color layout which is least important. They have been having the same issue for over 3 years now!! The share icon on the app makes the app freeze. There has been sooo many updates you would think this bug would get fixed, yet it is still there. Therefore, sephora is not paying attention to these reviews or else this bug would not be there. Can you please fix the share button so it stops freezing the darn app!! Fix your app instead of giving people eyestrain!! Since the share icon has not been fixed for so long i had to give a low rating for lack of detail by Sephora app developers. And yes I have updated software for both phone & app all these years, still same issue and a new one- rethink your all white layout!

An ok app. I love Sephora as much as the next person but this app seriously needs to improve. I especially dislike the point system as I’m used to the ulta app showing me all the points i accumulate whether in store or online which Sephora only shows online only. I have over 1000 points in store when i shop but on the app and online i only have 637? That bugs me a lot actually that i didn’t really notice it until i went shopping in store for the member appreciation event. The app is also very finicky as it take forever to load sometimes and when using the virtual try on the colors aren’t exactly accurate. Also which it has the option to use Touch ID to log in as well which would be a huge plus. Overall i like the app but it still needs major improvements so far Ulta is beating it app wise but still not as much as well.

Poor Customer Service and warehouse organization. I ordered product on April 29,2930. They advice me that it will not be delivered till May 26. That pretty much a month. They say is due to low staffing due to the pandemic. Understandable. . My daughter and I live in the same house and she has gotten her deliveries by the 5th day she ordered it. All her other items she ordered after mine have come on time. How is that when they are suppose to be all late. Me and her ordered on Mother’s day. Is 4 days later and she got it today. I called to find out when mine from the same day is coming. They said also on the 26th of Nay. Figure that! I’m done with them. I even sent an email to customer service. Days later I get their typical email they sent to everyone regarding the delay due to pandemic.

Submissions not going through. UPDATE (2/5/23) - went from a 3 star to a 2 star review. Pictures in reviews stopped loading a couple of weeks ago which is frustrating because it helps me with selections. At this point the app is feeling too saturated/crowded - interface needs a facelift so-to-speak and notifications need to be reduced by minimum 50%.************* OG REVIEW (sometime in 2022) - love the app overall. Great interface, seemingly user friendly even though it could be simplified a little, like how peoples photo attachments are above the reviews, BUT the submissions need to be fixed. There are times I try to ask questions for products and it gives me an error message that submission won’t work and try again later. It’s been weeks for the same product. I’ve force closed the app and restarted, logged out then back in and deleted/reinstalled the app. Developers need to fix the submission errors for both questions and reviews as this has clearly been an ongoing issue for years. Once the kinks get worked out I will definitely update to 5 stars.

Free samples and bday gifts!!. I thought getting a Sephora account would be too bouji for me but I’m glad I did. I mostly use it to shop clean skincare and they have amazing brands (obviously). Not all there products are super expensive however if ur unsure about one that is u can try buying a sample size first. They also give u 2 FREE samples with every order, and u can choose from a couple when u check out. There tiny but it’s fun to try out the different products. They also give u another free sample on ur bday with a purchase of something else, and this one unlike the mini samples is abt equivalent to a trial size u would have to pay for. Highly recommend there’s literally no harm in getting an account.

Glitches. So last week I went to add some things to my shopping cart so I wouldn’t forget to purchase them this week and I went to select the apple pay method just to make sure my shipping address was up to date and then I was going to click out of the payment when I made sure but the app glitched so when I clicked out my fingerprint matched and the payment went through earlier then I had anticipated, which wasn’t a problem I had the money but I still wanted to wait another week to make sure I had more money in my account after I made the purchase. Also my package was supposed to come by Friday at the end of the day (which was already five days after I made the purchase) but now when I went to track my shipment it says it won’t be here until Tuesday which is another four days after I had already waited the initial five days. In other words I’m not happy with my first purchase off the app I would rather do it in stores from now on.

It’s nice to find exactly what you’re looking for. It’s easy to navigate and gives you all the info you need and reviews, but when you use the option to filter reviews to only show beauty matches or people with your skin type or whatever I still have to scroll through hundreds of reviews from people without the features I’m specifically looking for. And it seems like they always have some type of bug, one day it’s kicking me out when I click a product I wanna look at or it signs me out after I leave the app every single time but I always have it set to “stay signed in.” And lastly they never get my samples right.... EVER, it’s free so it’s whatever but I wish if they were gonna give you whatever they’d at least remove the option to choose so I don’t have to get excited about something that isn’t coming.

Nothing will load. Shortly before the sale the app has gotten worse. None of the products will load. If you click on ANYTHING the circle just goes around and around. Literally zero products will load and it’s been weeks and Sephora still hasn’t fixed this issue. So frustrating. I can’t read reviews or even write one. I wanted to purchase a refill pod for the glow recipe moisturizer during the sale but of course it won’t load. If a product comes in different sizes just forget about it and go in store because the app won’t give you the option to click on it because again it won’t load. If you search products and it has the right one you want then you can add it to your favorites and add it to cart that way but again if that product comes in different sizes just forget about it because it will only allow you to purchase the one that pops up in the search. If that makes sense. Type in glow recipe refill pod and try to click on it and you’ll see what I mean. It will only allow me to purchase the entire moisturizer jar & all when I only need the refill pod. Please fix this Sephora it’s been several weeks now!

Super simple. I’ve always been a dime store make up shopper and never cared much for luxury brands or spending much on skin care. That said, my needs were simpler for a long time. Discovering Sephora the last six months or so and particularly the app has been so helpful. Seeing what I’ve bought before to be sure I get the right shades, having the ability to return and replace shades that don’t work getting free trial and sample sizes to test all makes it worth it. I still don’t spend on luxury brands but I can comparison shop much more easily and with confidence. The app can be a little glitchy at times and though I have a color profile, I’m not confident that it is choosing make up shades for me on that basis. It would be great if it could show that it is a match, a near match or that the skin profile color couldn’t be matched. I’d be much more confident trying new shades in that case. Overall awesome app and awesome service model. Love Sephora.

Cannot access “loves” list on app. I love Sephora. I mean, I am Rouge! So, I have shopped quite a bit. But I find the app frustrating because I looked and looked for the list of all of the items I have “loved” so that I could go back and buy them. Now, if you search “lists” on the app, it takes you back to the area of the app where your orders, buy it again, account, flash, reservations, Samples & Rewards,Beauty Advisor Recommendations, & Color IQ & Beauty Traits menus are listed. This same area can be found, when logged in, by clicking on your name at the bottom of any screen. But, when I’m in the mobile version of Sephora using Safari, I’m given the choice to see the Loves menu where my saved products are. However this menu is entirely missing from the Sephora app and I find this quite frustrating. It’s so much more convenient to be in the app but I constantly have to bounce back and forth just to access my saved loved items. Please correct this in the app! You are deterring sales! (And this is coming from someone who works in eCommerce/product Content for fast fashion. Retailer)

BEST SHOPPING APP EVER!!!!. BEST SHOPPING APP EVER!!!! Everything I need and want is soooooo easy to order! This is is BEST online shopping experience I've ever had! Easy to mark FAVS and add and edit your cart...unlike the nightmare mazes some stores force you to crawl through when you want to get in and out. And if you have some time read, watch videos learn new techniques, styles and literally "wander and window shop!" It's that shopper friendly of a site! I can research and review innovative....or just plain fun....new products!! And keep my makeup tower well stocked with my all time ab-fab favorites!! And I LOVE ALL OF THE SAMPLES AND PROMOS/REWARDS for shopping!!! I feel like a kid in a candy store!! We all like to feel like we are getting a little fun something extra! And plz plz plz don't forget to watch the FREE tutorial/videos from professional makeup artists linked right from the sight. They are sooo much fun and valuable information considering they are professionals!!!! There is also a concierge number you can call for advice and or help. GREAT JOB SEPHORA!!!

Must have. I was a regular at my local Sephora until I downloaded this app a couple years ago. I have already left a review but I guess since I got a new phone and it’s my first iPhone a new review as needed... which is not a problem because I can brag on this app all day. Anytime I ever have a problem I just call customer service and they straighten it out for me and that has only happened once. The samples are great the rewards are great. If you don’t have this app and you love make up and skin care you need to download this right now and become a beauty insider. I should be a representative for Sephora! I love everything they stand for and all of the brands and products they carry. The Sephora brand it’s self, is awesome for the price point! You can’t get any better.

Nothing but problems with this app!!. First off let me start off by saying I absolutely love Sephora and it’s my favorite makeup store! The original app layout was easy to navigate and get the hang of it. I never had a single problem with it and I loved shopping with the app! Which is why after only a few months on the app I became a consecutive yearly rouge beauty insider. For those of you not familiar with their lingo a rouge beauty insider is when you spend at least $1,000 dollars within a year you get top offers, discounts and receive free shipping on all your orders. I also became heavily reliant on their try it on live feature to try on products. However the new updated layout of the app is confusing and pretty frustrating/difficult to navigate/get used to. It has been at least a year or 2 already since it’s been updated and I still cannot get used to it. The try it on live feature hasn’t worked in over a year already which is extremely frustrating and disappointing. When you’re scrolling through shopping clicking on one item which leads you to the next on the app once you click on your cart you completely lose your shopping/search progress. You can’t get back to it unless you remembered the name of the company/product of the item you were last viewing. Which is why this year I’ve only spent $273 dollars.

Great when it works. This app is great when it works however there’s frequent login issues. It doesn’t keep you signed in even if you toggle over to keep signed in option, so you have to login every time you place an order or look up any account info. Password reset doesn’t often work and even if you reset your password a login error often pops up. This has happened a few times, I’ve contacted customer service and even they can’t resolve the issue. You have to delete and reinstall app and if that doesn’t resolve anything you have to wait up to 5 business days for someone to look into it and get back to you. Customer service has said this is a well known issue and yet it continues to be an issue. Why has it not been fixed yet…and even if you say screw the points, I’ll just sign out as a guest because I want to make a purchase, you can’t! You cannot sign out as a guest on the app or website on a mobile device.

Great but the colors aren’t the same on screen as the are in person. I love the app because it’s easy to find whatever you’re looking for. However I’ve noticed that the colors on screen vary wildly from what they look like in person. Many reds appear more purple or orange in person, and often it’s difficult to tell if the makeup is suitable for winter, summer, autumn, or spring skin tones. I’ve learned that it’s best to use the app to search for potential colors you might want to try and then go to a store to actually try it on. If I could suggest to the app creators: it would be helpful if the colors were more accurately displayed to save people the headache of thinking a lip color is deep red but having it turn out to be more of a plum. It would also help if part of the description included a list of the skin tones certain colors would best suit (not just warm vs cool either, I’m talking the full four seasons), because having one model with a chalk white arm, one with a deep tan arm, and one with a super dark chocolate arm doesn’t cover any of the medium skin tones that most people fall into.

Great app but needs minor tweaks. Great app, but with a few tweaks could be even better. On the off-chance developers actually read these reviews, my suggestions are as follows: (1) when choosing samples, you have the ability to view the full size product to read all its attendant information, but in order to navigate back to your basket, you have to manually close out of the product you are viewing and click on your basket again—quick fix would be to create back arrows that automatically navigate back to the basket; (2) the full size product view is not available when looking at the trial sample promos so you have to close out of your basket and search for the product, then go back into your basket manually—adding the same navigation options described above to view the full product and navigate back to your basket from that view would make the app perfect.

Credit Card hassle. I'm pretty sure I have brought this up with sephora before, but the app is seriously broken when it comes to entering your credit card info. If you put in the correct expiration, it will be changed to the previous month once you hit submit, causing an error saying invalid cc info or something. The solution is to pick the month ahead of your actual expiration, so that when it gets knocked back a month it will be correct and your payment cam go through. It's aggravating and needs to be fixed. I was also not able to delete the old address on my account through the the app. The error said it doesn't belong to me or something, which was weird but whatever. I generally like this app and will continue to use it. Would just like to see attention given to issues like this considering payment and shipping are an important function of the app.

This App Update made my life so much harder. I’ve used my Sephora app since 2014 and honestly it’s been NORMALLY an easy to use app with clear cut options and working links to where I need to go. I don’t know when my app updated since I have everything update automatically but wow.... I can’t even click on my profile and see my beauty insider information anymore. The profile page is utterly useless I’ve tried to figure out how much I’ve had on a gift card before through the app before I go in store and NORMALLY it’s an easy process now it won’t even open the screen in the app at all.... what is the point of updating the app and adding more complicated tools IF THEY DONT EVEN FREAKING WORK PROPERLYim thoroughly annoyed and disappointed. Guess I’ll just buy my high end makeup at Macy’s since at least if I need to see how much I have on a gift card it isn’t like trying to ace a trigonometry math test when I’ve only ever studied algebra 1....

I ❤️Sephora!!. App is amazing! I’ve learned everything I know about the company and the customer service, promotions and rewards etc, by using the app! I was able to get MUCH more info just navigating through it the last few months than I ever did in the store! I love the free samples and beauty offers!! Shopping w Sephora is my favorite thing! However it’s gotten me into some debt for sure! Lol but I DO love that o can use my JCPENNY credit card and make payments in the penny’s store which happens to be two blocks away-super convenient! The closest stores are at least 30 minutes away which stinks if I have returns. It’s hard for me to print returns labels without a computer or printer; that’s the only annoying thing. It hasn’t stopped me from making a zillion purchases!! Lol

Used to love until recently. I love Sephora and I used to love their app until the last month or so when it would sign me out of my account. Normally it wouldn’t be an issue, and I would just sign in again. But whenever I try to sign in, I get an error message stating my email address or password is incorrect even though I know the information entered is accurate. I’ve reset my password just in case, and I still get this message. I’ve had to call in 3 times to get my account unlocked, which required additional password changes, and when asked no one was aware of any issues and I was told to keep trying. One person recommended I just use my browser instead, which negates the app’s purpose. My name and all my information shows up on the app in my profile but when I try to do anything it asks me to sign in and the cycle begins. Seriously fed up with this and the lack of assistance when calling in as they hang up if you so much as utter the word “ok”. Lacking the quality of service their known for.

It’s okay. Things are good when they work. Why do they show items that have been out of stock for over a year? Those items need to be taken off or marked as out of stock instead of having to click on them to just to see they are still out of stock. “Email when item is in stock” has never been sent but I get spammed for other things I’m not interested in. Maybe a notification for when something is back in stock not that things seem to ever go back in stock. It needs to be clearer if I can pick up locally or online only. If my cart is mixed with both, it should state what items I’m able to pick up. What is the point of the sample option when 90% of the time you don’t even get them? And if you do it’s rarely what you pick. Quizzes go blank when they don’t have a result so you can’t tell if there’s a glitch. Things for 30 yr old skin is the same for 40 yr old skin? I don’t think that is valid as many times as your results say. Update the foundation match choices. There’s tons missing. You’ve been selling Beauty Blender foundation “on sale” at 20 bucks for a while now but it’s not an option on the foundation match. Not that the foundation ever matches my skin outside the store to begin with.

Convenient but glitchy. I’ve used this app for years to shop online and overall it works very well. I love that I can save my products in a loves list and that it saves all my past purchases from both online and in store. The live chat feature is fun, I love answering questions and interacting with other girls who have similar interests. However it’s always been a bit glitchy for me. Every time I answer a question, it kicks me back to the top of the list so I have to scroll down every single time to see other questions. It’s always done this for me which is super annoying. It also has a tendency to suddenly zoom in while in the chat. I usually can double tap the screen and it will un-zoom but after the most recent update, that stopped working. Now I have to close the chat completely and re-enter for it to display normally. I wish they would fix these bugs to make it more enjoyable. I’ve also never been able to figure out the online community tab. It has never seemed very user friendly for someone who isn’t familiar with that part of the app.

Feature requests. I do love most of the functionalities of this app, but there are a few features I’d love to see. My biggest peeve: can we add a swipe gesture to go back to search results when viewing an item detail? Reaching my thumb to perfectly target the back arrow, that is so tiny and 15px distance to the hamburger menu. I always seem to fat finger the back arrow because it’s way too close to another tap target. The back arrow and hamburger menu are simply way too close for it to be a pleasant experience. How about introducing a tab bar instead like Instagram or Facebook? Also, truncating the text instead of wrapping a long name to two lines in the list view is confusing when products are so similar, being able to view the full name creates more value because then I have to click through everything. I’d prefer to see the full name instead of “Yves Saint Laurent Powder F....” <- no idea what comes after that if the brand name is too long. Additionally, I like the star rating in the list view, but 4.5 stars for 2 users vs. 2,000 users is a huge difference. Putting the quantity of users to indicate volume is infinitely more valuable to me and saves me a tap. I do love the checkout flow. Very simplified and easy to understand and place order. But, I still think there can be some minor improvements that go a long way.

Okay, but not great. App works decently well while in use. But it drives me nuts that if I switch apps even briefly, when I return to Sephora, my search/displayed item has been cleared and I’m back on the home page every time. That totally stinks for multitasking, which is all I’m ever doing on my phone. Also, I totally agree with another review which suggests better options for viewing the names of different product colors without having to click through each one. Similar issue in the review photos section: you are given the option to filter user photos based on the product color, but often only the color descriptions (I.e. “warm dusty rose”) are displayed here, not the actual color name. If the colors do not have descriptions, then no text is included and you’re forced to guess which color is which. There could be a lot more organization surrounding product colors in general; often I’m looking for something in a specific color family, so improved search/display features on that front would be helpful. Other than that, I haven’t had too many issues with crashes/glitches or functionality.

More useful than I thought. I shop Sephora frequently so the app made since. I do not like the search feature because you have to be sure of the spelling of the product to get the search results you want. Other sites will at least take a guess at what you are trying to look for. I do like it’s suggested product listings for me. I looked up collagen and found out through suggested products they sell all types of vitamins and supplements. These were Items I needed but did not think to find on their app. I love the account pull up where I can see history of purchases with pictures of products I bought. This makes it easy for me to go back and do a product review, a re-purchase, or price comparison. There is a like feature that saves items that you do not want to purchase now but would like to purchase at a later date. Returns are super easy thru the app but the customer reviews help me decide if I should or shouldn’t purchase something which prevents returns by proper research. The reviews are complete with each persons skin tone and skin description to find a relatable reviewer.

Erin in Omaha. I rarely go in a store due to Covid, today I bit the bullet. I’ve been shopping on line and while it’s fun getting packages in the mail, sometimes going in for some professional advice is necessary. Although a young sixty something that doesn’t always wear makeup, I do occasionally choose to and when I do I like the classy but natural look. Enter Erin! She actually had the look I appreciate, lite and natural. She was on spot in helping me choose the right colors for my skin tone to choosing make up in sleek compact packaging. Yes, that was an actual request of mine because I don’t want to haul a bunch of stuff around. I was able to purchase all new makeup for the coming year feeling confident while going for the look I want with no fuss. Thanks Erin, you made my day! Mimi from Lincoln

Best ever. I used to shop with Ulta, but using the Sephora app to buy my makeup has saved me time and money! They have so many fun deals and you can add 2 free samples to your cart to try more products. Customer service is right there if you have any questions (and they have been so kind to me) and the reviews are right there also. I can find people with my skin type and see if they like the products or not! I love it. It’s a fantastic app and store. I always feel appreciated and beautiful when I spend time in the store! Only reason I took a star off is because I never get the samples I order, it always ends up being something different which is disappointing when I’m really excited to try one thing... but I’ve loved all the products I’ve tried anyways!

Sephora Beauty. I frequently shop between Sephora and Ulta. I must say Alta has a better rewards program hands down. I don’t like that being a Rouge remember you are offered to choose from samples and small products if you choose to use your rewards. I don’t want small products or samples I want a discount off of my transaction for being a member like Ulta. Anyways now that’s out of the way the Sephora app is way better than the Ulta app. I love that you can try on the make up and/or color live in the app. I love love love the fact that they do a true match from one foundation to another. I am constantly looking for the best and being a perfect match with UD 3.25 I’m able to use that color to find a true match for me with any foundation. I like the fact that you can search your frequently purchased items. I am very happy to see Apple Pay integrated in the app..

Better late then bad eyeliner. Amazing app love using it because I can use the app and a lot look up stuff on web browser also super easy to use makes it easier to find the free offers that go with your purchase. And shows me new things before they drop and come to the app 1st before going online gives me a chance to score new products before other people or know they are coming soon I love using the app. It’s so user friendly. Only complaint is when I want to look at Sephora on the web browser it redirects me to the app sometimes that fine but not when I already have something open I wish I could just use it when opening app but still 5 stars. I love that it suggest products I have viewed or hearted at the bottom so I don’t forget about them. It keeps me logged in so my items stay in my cart. If you don’t use the app you definitely should one of the things I love the most is if you are going down a list of products and click one when you go back it takes you to the spot you were in unlike the browns we where it sends you back to the top

Easy to use, not as easy to trust. The app is very user friendly and comprehensive. It’s full of lots of special features but I mainly use it to shop and read product reviews. Unfortunately these days new products may have plenty of reviews—more than you’d expect at that point—but they’re all or almost all from people that have been given the product for free in exchange for feedback. For one thing, I see a lot of the exact same words/phrasing on many different products making the opinions feel like canned responses. Also, without knowing who is providing the product and for what reason/program it’s being provided by and what the relationship/role of the reviewer is to them, I can’t help but be skeptical and wonder if their glowing reviews are actually provided so as to obtain or “earn” more free products. Also, like another reviewer mentioned, I really hate that they removed the Q&A feature on each product’s description. That was often very helpful when the descriptions were too short and uninformative.

Makes shopping sephora addictive. I like most things about the app. It is easy to navigate and shop from. The thing that is frustrating me so much is samples subbed for things I have no interest in, samples just not being included, beauty offers not being shipped. Every time they do this it makes me shop other places more. The number of times they are messing up orders latley is hilarious. And the virtual artist doesn't work well to use it live on you. Putting colors up on their models works, but mostly everything looks nonexistent or the wrong color in the live one. I also wish that you could write notes to yourself in the app. I get so many samples and use some things so sparingly that it would make organization and picking products so much easier for me. Like alot of other people I usually have so much going on. But if I could put all those thoughts down by products like in my my loves or just somewhere else in on the app it would really make me love it.

The Worst. Love Sephora DESPISE the app can’t write a review because I literally can’t see after the first two sentences what it is I’m typing smh. I constantly have issues it always says since I did the new download there’s an issue and this happens at checkout so I can’t even checkout lol I can’t buy nothing 🤣 isn’t that something ?! I use PayPal as a safe checkout alternative and the other day I bought one thing using PayPal I decided I wanted something else as well went back to the app to buy the other and it says “Error Sephora Error 1.) “ I’ve been trying to make a purchase for the past 4 days and same “Error” why did I decide to download the new upgrade right after my first purchase went through fine as it always has smh 🤦‍♀️ so upsetting! The other issues on the app weren’t half as bad as these new ones!; I don’t mind signing in half a million times literally few minutes apart over and over again throughout my whole time shopping on the app. making my shopping experience absolutely dreadful; I’ll take that over not even being able to make my purchase at the end of my shopping. Unbelievable. FIX THIS PLEASE JUST FIX THIS

Nice App But Could Use Improvement. I’ve been a loyal customer of Sephora and the Sephora app but recently I noticed something different. Usually each order comes with two samples and that was a great way for me to learn about other brands and their products before I made new purchases. For the past three times, my orders had either come with only one sample or no samples at all and that’s really frustrating. I wish they had informed me earlier that those samples were not available or they could offer us some substitutes or even give us a 2 out of 4 options so that we would at least get some samples of our choosing. I enjoy the convenience of having the app and getting all of our products delivered to us but if this issue continues I might consider ordering directly from the brands themselves.

Pretty buggy. I love the idea of the app and definitely the content, however for 2 days now I have been trying to get to my cart to check out with miscellaneous errors. I’ve restarted the app and reset my WiFi which seemed to get me there, however, when I got to my cart several items were sold out. Defeated I moved on with my order only to get stuck at the screen where you enter a credit card. Every time I entered the expiration date on the card it would auto correct the month to an erroneous date and declined payment. After 6 attempts I finally set the date to a month later than what the actual date is and the auto correct made it to the correct month. If I was any less self conscious about running around without foundation I probably would have given up and walked away.

Not impressed...just use their website. First, I was not impressed with the look of this app. It looks like it was made for cell phones because it was not a full screen so it made it hard to see using my iPad. Not a big deal but still. I know you make a killing Sephora why not update your app? Secondly, I had issues using a Happy her gift card I received for Christmas. No matter what I did it would not take it or even my debit card. I had to enter the gc as credit(per gc instructions)but kept saying it was an invalid cc and did it with my debit card too. Kept saying it’s invalid. I tried it on my computer using Microsoft edge and it worked. Sephora’s website says to use google chrome or Microsoft edge to order when I tried Internet explorer. Plus this app doesn’t give you the option to delete your cc info, you have to go to the website to delete. And it also doesn’t give you the option to enter a gift card. Only credit card info can be entered. You have to go to the website to enter a Sephora gc. What? Why?...The website took the gc and my debit card with no issue. Looks like you all need to clean this app up. I deleted it.

App worth using. So - apps. There are good bad and ugly. I like the Sephora app - definitely good - my emails open in my app (squee) and not in a browser. I like that I randomly place items in the Basket and a month later when I have money - they are still there. No pesky session time-out notices. I love the filter and the more than 4 options for sort. This is a good app - dare I say “great”? The only reason I am not giving it five stars is the “Find a Foundation” and “Find a Mascara” functions. They need work. Especially the foundation - Hey Sephora - even my app has my color match family. How about you tell me what color that equates to in the foundations returned? Cause it is awesome on narrowing down formula and brand - but which of the 49 shades are my match?

Good service and products. Skincare is a million there fragrances are brilliant they give you whatever you want and when your not sure about the scents you can always ask someone online which is amazing and all there make up and hair products are all amazing and when you need to ask about the products you can always ask online and they have great services they show you all the top products and they’ll do whatever they can to get you where you want to be There is only one problem with services. When you ask to look at other products they can be a bit slow so it depends on who your talking to and if your talking to someone really slow I recommend to skip and try again. Other than that everything is good. (4.5)

Freakin LOVE IT!!. This is hands down the best shopping app I’ve ever tried!! I’ve deleted idk how many apps because they made shopping more difficult and who needs that?? Or, they were just difficult to navigate in general.. I think it’s great how it keeps tabs of All your purchases, online and in-store, so that’s you never have to go back and try to remember what that one thing was that you loved so much, but just can’t remember which shade/brand/style/etc it was? Everything is right there, and it also keeps up with past orders, so, if you need to return something, or exchange something, all the info the clerk will need is right there. I have zero complaints about it! Well.. except for that it’ll remind me I have stuff in my basket, and that I should really go back and get it lol..

The Bomb. So dangerous - I prefer it to shopping in store.

What’s going on!?. The app keeps signing me out, not sure why!

Keeps logging me out. Ever since the new app update, i constantly have to log in. Its really annoying and starting to deter me from opening the app.

Does not work after update. Keeps logging me out. Takes a while to open a page. Really annoying!

The app is not working. I can’t check out and I asked the Sephora employee they couldn’t tell me why I could check out of the web browser but not app oh and they don’t allow the same settings to enter promo codes so I think it’s so you don’t get the promos

No PayPal??. No point in even using the app if you want to check out with PayPal, have to go through a browser for that method of payment. Plus it makes you log in every time you open it now. Dumb!

Make it work on older phones. Make it work on older phones App Store won’t even let me update

Force quits. Visual artist isn't working. The app just closes every time I try to do it

Canadian address?. It will not let me add my Canadian address for shipping. It pulls up only USA addresses.

Can’t place Order. App update won’t let me place order with Canadian address. Basic You need to fix it b/c I need to order

Stop Asking Me to Enable Location Services. Since I upgraded the Sephora app, every time I open it, a prompt appears to remind me enable location services. Please RESPECT the privacy of your customers Sephora. I intentionally disabled the location and no matter how many times you ask me I am not going to give you my location.

Love this app!. I love being able to try shades of makeup before purchasing. Sometimes I'll just browse through lip shades when I'm bored. I haven't had any problems with the virtual booth. Not a single glitch. I do however wish they would allow foundations to be tried online.

Love the Store but ADORE the app!!. I’m a rouge member and love that I can pick up any items or item with free delivery! Sephora has everything I want need and even more, the app makes it so easy to find and purchase!

Can’t enter Canadian addresses to checkout suddenly. Worked fine for years prior to. Have current version

Only USA address.. It won’t let me type in my Canadian address. Only USA.

Great except…. Great app. Love the rewards. But as of Aug 16/22 in needs an update to fix the glitchy pages not loading properly.

What’s wrong…. Couldn’t use it anymore

App doesn’t always work. Having a hard time connecting and the app keeps remembering my ID, then asking me to sign up (when I’m always signed in) taking long time to load, not adding things to my cart, etc. Been trying to make an order these past two days with no luck. When the app works, it is good.

Frustrated. The app told me my order didn’t go through but still charged my card 5X and only refunded me instantly once. Then after my order finally went through they decided to cancel my order because their stock wasn’t correct either. Not worth trying to order from Sephora anymore. Go straight to the company that your products come from.

too many updating v. anytime I wanna come on the app I need to update it first before I can continue. It's annoying af. way too much updating, it's actually ridiculous

Having issue with app. I join the beauty insiders for points and all that. I went back on my app and it said that I haven’t joined it, it brought me to a screen to put my birthday in, once I agree to the terms and agreements and tried to hit “join now” a thing came up on my phone saying “error create BI Account API is allowed only for users without BI account” and now I can’t see the point I’ve earned or anything.

Suddenly Stopped Being Available for Canadians?. I’ve been using this app for years and it’s suddenly stopped working for me. It always used to show me the prices in CAD and stock in Canada, as I live in Canada. However, today, my Sephora app says I am not able to ship to Canada or see prices in CAD and that I must use the website instead? I think this may be a bug.

Why Does the App Sign me Out?. It keeps signing me out regardless of the fact that I have the "keep me signed in" option in the app "on". 🙄 Frustrating to sign in ever use when I have just signed in previously only a minute prior. Please fix this issue.

overall good but review issue. app has been consistent and well but as of recently, I am unable to submit a review? strange

update is a major fail. Did the (forced) update. Now the app doesn’t work- at all

Will remove download. Forced updates

Fix your app!!!. I can’t sign into my account, the only thing on my screen is the loading sign, please fix your app!!!

Keeps logging me out. Old versions used to let me stay logged in for days. This one logs me out everytime I exit the app even when I have the keep logged on button on... very very annoying.

App won’t let me ship to Canada. Will only allow US addresses when checking out.

Can’t add Canadian address!. I filled up my cart and then tried to enter my postal code for shipping but it only gives the option of using numbers. Too bad. It was a big purchase.

use of debit cards. debit cards should be able to work ! overall love because there is more in stock online then in store

addicting. don’t download if ur a shopaholic 😍

Application is down. I’m not sure like what is going on, but I can’t check my product out . It has a problem at the payment method; even though I used that card to purchase my product through the app all the time. I hope that Sephora will fix this problem soon because the product that I need is online provide it online currently and this problem is kind of annoying me pretty much.

No PayPal option. Love the app. The only thing it’s missing is the option to pay with Pay Pal (need to use the website if using Pay Pal).

Pretty good app. It works well and they seem to have fixed most of the bugs, however I can’t write reviews. I always get an error message that tells me to try again later

Increasing prices & app isn’t excitingly functional. Lately, many Dior, Hermès & YSL items are raised by $1 & $2 after being brought back in stock... Not saying Sephora cannot increase the prices but it’s more convenient to shop directly through stores such as Dior etc. as they have vast variety of beauty items at lower prices (seriously). Recently there has been close to a hundred items on the grid to purchase but after going further into the product, the SKU doesn’t exist... Also, despite being opted to stay signed in, the app disconnects with error codes & messages & points being reset to 0 & coming back later in the day. Disappointing and over the chaos, used to spend $$$$ monthly on products & now I feel kind of dumb for bothering with Sephora. Kept getting a message if I “love the app” so I’m letting u know how I’m loving the overall experience. However, the customer service on the phone is lovely, very fast and easy to solve shipping mistakes. Thank u ✌️

Love this app but not 5🌟. UPDATE: seriously Sephora why has this app not been made available for proper use on iPad ………. It sure would make the shopping experience so much more satisfying 🫤 Make 2023 the year that you make this available 👋🏻 UPDATE : Sept 26 2022 Once again love shopping on line but this app needs to be made available for iPad use The experience would be so much better !!! Also Rouge members should be allowed to use up to 4 gift cards when making an on line order. As a Rough member that should be a upgraded perk Sephora love this app , I do most of my shopping on line however navigating it on my phone is very very small and crowded…….. would love to see you make this app compatible with iPad so that I can view and shop on a nice wide screen 😉👍🏻

Love it. So I retired years ago, so wearing make up is not the norm for me. It’s very nice and extremely convenient to be able to browse the website Sephora and get the regular products that I bought for years and see what else is out there and it’s amazing to get samples and try to see whether I need to upgrade my supplies and try something different so I really like it especially when it’s from the comfort of your own home

Dropped the ball this year. Rarely write reviews but this app is going downhill. Recent ‘sale’ offer terribly designed. Offer page would list products to then give error messages when clicked - not in 1 or 2 instances but dozens. If there wasn’t an error message it was ‘out of stock’ without the email notification b/c it was clearance (then why still list it?) Just left a bad impression and cash grabby feel.

Crashing. Wont open after update

Be careful with app cart. Disappointed with the app. Downloaded the app and specifically purchased over $85 worth to get the holiday gift set and it didn’t arrive. Was offered 100 points instead.

Maquiller. Super j’adore cette boutique

Specific products not loading. The Fenty Beauty Contour stick product on the app has been loading for days. I restarted my phone but it’s not working.

Not worth it. Can’t add the points card to Wallet and the info on the website is more up to date than the app, so this app is more of a burden to have.

Be careful when purchasing. I tried to Oder through the app and kept getting an error code when I hit complete order. I tired a couple more times and even tried to put in on my credit card too. I decided to just go online & complete purchase & had no issues. Later when I checked, there were 3 extra withdrawals on my bank account and 1 pending on my credit card! When I called Sephora they blew me off and said there was nothing they could do about it & I would have to wait to get my money back!!

App won’t stay signed in. I normally don’t have any issues with this app and love it but the last month the app will not stay signed in. I have selected stay signed in and still have to input my username and password every single time I use the app. I have tried deleting and redownloading the app and am still having the same problem. Will change my rating when this issue is fixed as there doesn’t seem to be any way to report app glitches or bugs.

Virtual artist problem. Have updated but virtual artist is broken. Won't open and crashes app.

Great app but.... ...it would be awesome if your “Stay signed in” option would actually work. I have to sign in every time I open the app lately, even when it was closed only a moment before.

Worst online shopping platform. This was my first time I ordered online from Sephora n I didn’t received my order. I tried to contact sephora n Fleet-optics, delivery partner of sephora about my parcel. I didn’t get any refund or reshipment ..moreover both of them r denying to take responsibility to deliver ur order safely upto you. I told them we have cameras at front door n nobody delivered. Still nobody took responsibility. Worst experience from Sephora online shopping. Please don’t buy online if ur parcel has been stolen or not placed by driver.. nobody is going to take action against this. Most unreliable delivery system. All they care about is taking money while buying n that’s it. Game over. Sephora doesn’t take any responsibility if ur items r delivered to u or not .

CANADIANS EXIST!!!. useless app. can’t ship anything to Canada.

Screen time says I use this app too much. This may sound weird, but I spent hours on this app every day. I use it to research products because there are SO many ratings/comments/photos for every product. I love the filter and sort options, the “Loves” section and the ease of use of off the charts! My only complaint is when selecting a deluxe gift, using your points to select items or adding samples to your cart - if you EXIT the cart and continue shopping, they disappear and you have to start all over. Also the samples, deluxe items and samples are not the same from the main website, which can be AWESOME but if there are better items on the main website, I have to ditch the app.

Awesome app with one annoying glitch. I have used this app to purchase products a zillion times and it has always been fun and convenient to use. The design is beautiful and easy to navigate, the features are fantastic, and the customization is out of this world. My only issue is that recently the app won’t save my expiration date info for my credit card. Every time I change it, the app will reset it to an earlier month and year so I can’t purchase anything. This is makes the app kind of useless for me. I haven’t heard of anybody else experiencing this, but I have the latest updates so I can’t imagine why it could be happening. Anyway, the app is great otherwise!

Updated reviews/ App feels cluttered. Don’t get me wrong I love Sephora and all it has to offer but in the app, with all the little writing and small details it feels very smushed and cluttered. I would fix the page where customers leave reviews as your writing you only get to look at your passage one line at a time and that could be annoying and the Sephora doesn’t let you update reviews so the review I left on a certain product saying I didn’t like it, isn’t how I feel about it now when I think it’s now my holy grail. It would benefit Sephora to let the customers sell the products based on their true experience. Personally that’s the first thing I look at before I add to cart and they may not be as accurate now.

I love this app.. I like this app so much for so many reasons. I like price checking, random shopping, specific shopping, reviews on products, FREE SAMPLES (I’ve been a beauty insider for YEARS and nobody ever told me I can get free samples every purchase, that’s just rude), I like taking my time looking products over and comparing, I love not having to leave my house to shop Sephora too. I have never once felt judged in store, but I also don’t walk into one without brushing my hair or putting on a bra, like I can do on the app at home. Listen hunny, just download Sephora and go get you a second job to pay for your new addiction.

Company Sephora 0⭐️. A company that stands for nothing but discrimination against a group of individuals that do not share the same ideologies as them. The makeup community use to be the most inclusive community, the place where Antoine could be themselves and feel themselves, be hyped up by anyone that liked your winged liner or make friends with anyone who snatched the same pallet as you. But at the world contributes to division Sephora is no different. They found no common ground with conservatives and instead threw them to the waste side with a belittling explanation. But maybe they’ll circle back to it. Stand up, be different, be brave. Love everyone no matter what they stand for, we live in a world where you can choose to be kind or you can choose to judge, Sephora chose to take the road most traveled. Unfortunate, they will no longer receive my money and I will no longer receive their “rogue status” so long Sephora.

Number 1 store. Hello everyone!!! Like most of you I was hesitant to go out shopping due to Covid. I was not sure what to expect. Well I went because of my daughters birthday! What I found was at the front door they had at sectioned off until a greater came to open it. Everyone had masks on! There was a hand sanitizer station, mask and a thermometer. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. They were kind enough to look up my daughters purchase a great feature!! So I knew what she was low on and what she may need. I told her that I had a budget and we stuck to it. She helped me find the things on her list made wonderful suggestions so I stayed on budget. When we got it all together and it was time for checkout. They cleaned the counter and the cream it card machine before I could put my purchases down! Very impressed! Felt completely safe! Had a great experience! My daughter loved her gifts! Also separate note they do not have the testing stations like before. You also can’t get your makeup done. But they do except returns. Have fun shopping

It’s almost perfect. It would be perfect if the app would stop kicking me out from time to time for no reason and if it’d notify me of new samples or new deals. I do love how it describes in detail the product and who it’s aimed at. The way it shows how much you save and the offered samples. Not to mention that they have a communities that give realistic reviews on the products. It also mentions the events going on in the locations near you which is convenient. I’m not a huge makeup wearer but I can say that Sephora is helping me test out new products and see which one is right for me. I hope someone new to Sephora will enjoy their experience there 😊

Love the app!. I like everything about the sephora app, except many of the colors shown, sometimes aren't true to shade. Instead of having the red headed girl trying on makeup (almost every lipstick looks pink on her), I find it helpful when there is a color swatch next to the colored lipstick or gloss, either just set against a white backing or on a woman's firearm. Also, some items when they run out, don't let you know how long before they will, if at all be refilled. I have putname on mail list to be notified, but have heard nothing for most of those items. (Could they be discontinued?). Wish there was a better way to let us know how soon the stock will be back in!

Error messages, time outs, authentication issues. This app has become extraordinarily frustrating to use. I have used the app for months without issues until the latest update/release. Now I am experiencing error messages, operation time out, cart suddenly saying it’s empty then re loading a few minutes later, any simple task in the app takes over 10 seconds to load, and I have to re authenticate every few minutes. I tried to check out a cart for over 30 minutes before giving up. My guess would be that the app can’t handle the increased holiday shopping traffic, either way it makes for a poor user experience which is a shame because Sephora is a great place to buy beauty products.

Wish I Could Rate This Higher.... I love Sephora and the app is great in theory. I created my account and began to create a virtual look (just for fun)... My screen went black and it kicked me out and returned me to my home screen. I reentered the app and discovered that the app had automatically logged out of my account. I tried to log back in but it said I didn’t have an account. I tried to create a new account but it said that my email was already in use although I wasn’t able to use the account it was being used for. I deleted the app and redownloaded it thinking that would solve the problem. I tried to try on an eyeshadow I really liked only for the app to crash, causing me to lose my progress again. I went back onto the app to find it had logged me out again! I want to be happy with this app but I just can’t when it continues to crash!

Fantastic and helpful app. I love the app. It always keeps me updated without being intrusive. Now that I have figured out the promos section I am very pleased with everything about the app. Before checking out just pop into the promos section and you can tap on what you want and it will add to the bag automatically. I am computer illiterate so this took some learning lol. They need to update the Rewards For Redeeming points and it would be nice to be able to add more than one promo to the cart rather than placing several small orders. It is fast and easy to navigate. Overall 5 stars

issues with the new update. I absolutely LOVE sephora. However, I have been having a couple issues with the latest update. Every time I go to an item that has the Try It On feature (even though i’m not using it), the app shuts down and I’m taken back to my home screen. This is a major problem because I am unable to buy any products with the Try It On feature on the app which is what I use most commonly. Also, I’m not receiving the samples I order. I haven’t received my ordered samples in a long time, and I am a frequent sephora shopper. I have read several other reviews with these same problems. Please figure this out!!

Huntington Beach store. I love going to the Huntington Beach store in the Pacifica shopping area. Today I needed help with foundation matching and Annette was very helpful and professional. When I checked out Ali helped me. I was browsing some Laura Mercier products and concerned that maybe I had the wrong one. She was very knowledgeable about the line and explain that the product I was looking at is for people with oily skin. I have dry skin so I had previously made an incorrect choice. If I had gone to the store before making that purchase the knowledgeable staff would’ve steered me in the right direction

Fuel for beauty addiction. Very convenient and easy to use. Very informative! Also I like being able to explore other new products and being able to grab my absolute favorites. The only things I dislike about this app is that you’re not able to use your PayPal account, which isn’t the worst thing in the world, but it would make me feel much more comfortable. Also the app takes a minute to load results, I feel like it could be faster. It also has occasional glitches which I can only describe as ‘spasms’. At the end of the day I like being in the know about my insider account and the convenance it provides! 😁👌🏻

4 stars. The app is good. Not really any complaints. But I accidentally deleted the app and I lost all my points. I thought I was gonna be able to put back in my password because it’s 6-12 letters long in fact it was only 8 characters and yet it wouldn’t let me put it in because it was too long. And when I tried to put forget password and I checked my email at least 8 times to see if it was correct and it was and I kept on pressing resend and it has been over 1 hour still no message to reset my password. And it’s not like I had only a few points I had enough to get $10 off my next order (so around 500 points) but I mean overall the app is fine.

One of Best Shopping Apps!. I’ve found this to be one of the easiest shopping apps to use, too easy, as my wallet will tell you. It saves your favorites and previous orders so you can return to something you saw or restock on your staples. The reviews are very helpful and I live by them for purchases. I’ve had very few glitches, very stable app. Checking out is easy as you can save your info and they use pay pal. I love the weekly wows and get an email when something is back in stock. All around, it’s a great app! This is my second year as a VIB and loving the free shipping. I just need to make time to get the makeovers I’ve earned as a VIB. When the app can do that, I’ll give it 6 stars!

Bug still not fixed. It’s been years and their Credit Card bug is still not fixed. I appreciate when they update the App and have new features, but they have yet to fix an old problem. I’ve alerted them to the issue every time I’ve had to update my CC info, but run into the same problem every time my card expires. The problem: My credit/debit card expires and I have to update to the new Expiration Date but, after I input the info, the date saves as a different month. I’ve tried cashing out with the saved date anyways (failed), changing the month in hopes it would save to the correct month, updating my phone and the Sephora app, and, reporting the issue. No fruition, for years.

No Cancelling?????. I don’t understand why it’s so difficult to make Order Cancellations possible through the app. First, Sephora says that you have to cancel an order while it is in “Placed” status. Once it moves to “In Progress,” it cannot be cancelled. On the OTHER hand, you have to EMAIL Sephora Customer Service in order to cancel your purchase! So, while you wait for Sephora to email you back and cancel the order, it goes from “Placed” to “In Progress.” Then they tell you they may not be able to cancel it because of the status. ARE YOU SERIOUS??? Maybe if you let me cancel it MYSELF, 30 seconds after placing my order, it would be much more efficient! Instead I have to wait on someone else and then because of THEIR inefficiency and lack of customer service in responding to emails in a timely manner, I have less of a chance of getting my order canceled. Just plain stupid and a giant hassle.

I love Sephora. I love the makeup lines carried at Sephora. I love that I can choose the type of skincare products that are good for my skin type. I also appreciate that I can choose the type of makeup ingredients that I prefer in the products I want to buy. I also love that if I want matted or shimmery products I have that option too. The app is really well organized. I love that their are also quizzes to do in terms of makeup products or skin care products. I hope that one day you will open up stores in every country. The one line I do wish and hope you will carry one day is Chanel. I love makeup 💄💃❤️

Lost All Points. During Covid we could not visit stores in person, so I relied on the app almost exclusively for about a year for purchases. It was so glitchy at times, I’d have to delete my cart and start again for orders. Finally, when I was able to get back into the stores to shop, we discovered I had ZERO points when in actuality I had around 15k. Per Sephora, the app had not been recording purchases - and adding points for about 18 months even though I had digital receipts of them and the purchases showed in the account. So it appeared I was “inactive” for 18 months. Sephora refused to fix it and give the points back even though I was still showing as VIB ROUGE, which would be impossible if I hadn’t made any purchases in the past 12 months totaling $1000+.

BRING BACK the In App Try-On Feature. This has always been my go to app for everything beauty! Pre-Covid there was an amazing wayyy BEFORE it’s time feature, where one could try on ANYTHING in the app!! That was the beauty of the app. Try before you get dressed to buy! Well now with the current climate ALL in store color swatching has stopped. However, there is one magic mirror in store. But what’s the point of going to the store, if you can’t try anything in store? That feature returning to the app would be pivotal for Sephora to stay crowned as #1 in makeup. Their biggest US rival taunts the try on in app feature as a sponsored ad! Guys fix this! We love it here & orange will never be the new black & white…bring back the try on feature!

Love 💕🛍. Love this app! My town rarely has any of the items I love and need so this app is perfect to get all my must needs! Easy to find all the products your looking for. Easy to go back and check out the items you love, reviews from other customers are always on point. The app is so easy to use, love how products have inexpensive trail size items to try out. Flash shipping is a must and so cheap; quick shipping and products always come to me packaged amazingly. Find myself always finding better stuff threw the app then in store. Notifications always sent to show me new items and keep me up to date with what’s trending. Def worth having this app if your a makeup lover!

So easy to use .... Sometimes I forget that it’s an app. I think I prefer the app to the website. This app has everything well organized- if there was one thing I’d like for them to add would be a Wish List. I know there’s a “Loves List,” but a wish list would be a good addition because I see it as a more practical form of the Loves List. I put very expensive items on the loves list, but would put things I might want to try in the future on a wish list. I’m editing this review, because it’s been a long time since I reviewed this app. All I want to say is that Sephora continues to work on and improve this app.

I love Sephora but not this app. Sephora is amazing because of its high quality products and constant good deals and promo codes, but the app can be faulty. When putting items in your bag and then choosing what free samples you want, place the order immediately because if you close the app and come back to order, all the items will be there but the free samples get reset without any notice or anything. Also there have been times where I’ve chosen free samples of foundation or a face wash and I actually receive like 3 fragrances instead that I hadn’t chosen. So that’s pretty annoying, but Sephora is great so maybe just fix the ordering process. Also make it available to modify or cancel an order before it ships, because now that option isn’t available.

Unbelievably Buggy All of a Sudden!. This used to be such a fantastic app...to the point that it became part of my social media round up as regular as Instagram or Facebook. But in the past maybe 6 months or so, it’s become unbelievably glitchy. Images take forever to load, links don’t react to my clicking, carousel of images for each product in particular seems to jam up. It’s really a shame! Probably for the best for me so I don’t keep going on this consumerism hamster wheel, but certainly not great for a company trying to make money from my bad habits...

Where’s my photos?. First off I love this app all of my questions are answered here! Whenever I post a photo of me it takes a while for it to post in “My Looks” instead it will post in the “Gallery” population first, that being said I’ve post at least five photos and only three made it to my profile/my looks. I shouldn’t have to go in the search engine (within the app) to find my look and if that doesn’t work.. I’ll have to sign out, then sign back in. Let’s talk about the glitching...and I know you all just release an update, but it still doesn’t work please try again. One more time FIX the glitching!!! Other then that this app is really, really helpful!!

Great for shopping. At first I found this app not that easy to use, it’s a little clunky with a really long list of links to get to certain areas of the site. However, with time, I realized all those links have a purpose and I’m glad they exist. Being able to save a product that you’re interested in but aren’t sure if it’s worth the money, is vital in any shopping app I use so the “loves” function is great. Then you can easily look back at your list to see which item is worth your money. I also have never experienced the app crashing for me, which I always impressive.

Better than real life!. Going into Sephora is often daunting to me. I love it, but it’s loud, crowded, and there are too many products that overwhelm the senses. (Yes, I have considered that I might fall somewhere on the spectrum but it has never been confirmed.) This app is a brilliant alternative to joining the highly decorated in-crowd and all their very painted faces. All the details, everything I need to search and make choices, right here in one easy-to-navigate location. They have also added product videos, which is amazing. A great addition to an already wonderful virtual shop. Shipping is also generally more prompt than promised, which is divine! Thank you, Sephora! Life as a girl is better with your app!

Why is this so terrible?? FIX IT SEPHORA. The app used to work great. Since the last update it is SLOW constantly spinning to load. Also, when you select an item then hit the back button after adding to cart, the app takes you back to the top of the page instead of where you left off. This would not be so bad if it wasn’t impossible to scroll down (past the stuff you already scrolled past multiple times) without being stopped at EVERY OTHER PRODUCT to wait for the spinning thingy to load! I thought it might be my wifi but the website worked fine. Except, when I tried to shop online — links on the website kept forcing the app to open!! Terrible design if you are trying to avoid the extremely slow app!! So frustrating I completely gave up on my order. FIX THIS Sephora there is no excuse for a company of your caliber. I made my Christmas purchases at your competitor!

So many uses!. I love making online orders with this app. It lets me see all the online offers so I'm getting free trial size products and 3 free samples with every order. Not to mention it tracks my orders so when I lose my receipts I am able to make returns or exchanges with my app as proof of purchase. It tracks my insider points and lets me stay on top of rewards. Lastly I use it as my color guide even when I'm in the store shopping. It lists all the undertones with foundation numbers which makes it much easier to pick my perfect shape as well as read reviews on any products I may be considering!

Sephora Junkie. So I’m an absolute Sephora JUNKIE! It’s the only place I shop for my makeup and hair products. I’m a rouge memeber, yes that’s how much I spend a year 😂 this app is PERFECT if you like doing your online shopping. They have so many beauty offers, sale items and more! Best part is definitely the SALES AND OFFERS you get through the app because they don’t have most of those products in the store! I highly recommend using the app to shop for sale products! Then you can use promo codes for free deluxe items and also the rewards bazaar to collect more free items with your member points!!! ULTA HAS NOTHING ON SEPHORA AND NEVER EVER WILL!!!

Sephora Made Easy. I ♥️ This App & What It Has To Offer ❋ It’s Really Easy To Navigate Around This App. fo InOne Of My Fav Categories Is The Dynamic Of “Loves & Recent Orders”❋ I Can Always Go To That Section & Peruse My Choices & Place An Order For The Items I’m Interested In Without Going Back & Scanning The Entire App For Just The Item Or Items I Want To Order ❋ I Can Go Back & Check Out My Recent Orders So I Can Keep My Orders Straight ❋ Sephora Has Made It Very Easy To Find Info On Product’s Before You Place An Order ❋ Sephora Has Many Reviews To Accompany All The Product Knowledge That Sephora Provides ❋ If I Can Find My Way Around An App Easily Then That app Is Definitely User Friendly To One & All ❋ By Roxygal56

It’s great.......when it actually works.. This is one of my most-used apps on my phone, which makes sense seeing as how Sephora is my crack. BUT this app is constantly signing me out, crashing, removing things from my basket without my knowledge, etc. Now, it’s saying the app “got a makeover” and I have to visit the App Store to update it before I can use the application. Here’s the problem: my app is up-to-date. So there’s no way for me to update it further, but it still won’t let me use it. I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it as a last resort, but that did nothing. Apparently I just can’t ever use this app again. It’s been a fun ride, Sephora. See ya around~~~~

Useful but why do you reset my search??. I use the app a lot and it’s nice because you can pretty much do anything on it that you can do on the website. BUT!! The most maddening thing is if you are researching something you cannot leave the app or you lose your search results ... like today I was looking at foundations and reading reviews. I had gone into SHOP and navigated to where I wanted to be and set all the filters and was going down the list by top review when I got a text message and crazily went to check it. Then immediately I went back to the app and it RESET everything! I was thrown back onto the main page! UUUGHHHHHH!!! I gave up and wrote this review. This has happened to me too many times.

Its impressive how bad the app is; apparently Sephora sells nothing. If you add too many filters—and one is too many often—you’ll get no results. Using the search bar either doesn’t work at all, returns 0 results or you get an error saying they do not carry the product. Sometimes the search works but overloads the app and causes it to refresh to show you 0 products. Like the product you see? Want to see more from the same brand? Tapping the brand name now shows 0 products. Sometimes they’ll show products that they no longer carry just to fill out the search results. They sell products individually worth $100+, try and paint themselves as a “luxury” but they can’t afford a functional app. According to the app, the shelves at Sephora are empty. Just shop at Ulta or Violet Grey

Only 2 issues, otherwise perfect!. I love this app, and use it frequently (much to the dismay of my bank account) which is how I have come to notice 2 minor glitches. 1. After I checkout and pay for my “cart”, and receive the order received email, my cart remains full, and I am prompted through notifications that I “left things in your cart”. It would be nice if my cart cleared after making purchases. 2. The forum community for Play! Is glitchy in mobile (haven’t tried on my laptop) - messages don’t load, and I have trouble getting them to expand into full messages. That is all. Otherwise this app is seamless and I love it!!!

Better Than Most. I often don’t get the samples I request. I frequent get the exact same thing over and over. Their isn’t much choice of stuff to use your points on - I don’t want the same perfume sample over and over. I wish I could get a full-size item vs. a teeny sample. I literally can’t find anything to redeem my points on. I don’t want the Instagram-like post yourself pictures - everybody’s skin tone is different, so it doesn’t make much sense and if I want makeup ideas I’d go to Pinterest. I wish more high-end cosmetics were available, versus just the skin care products of a high-end line, if they offer that line at all. I will say everybody leaves very, very well written and informative reviews, so thanks to guys and gals for that!

Buggy, but otherwise good. I love shopping at Sephora, online or in store, and the app makes it a lot easier to order what I need when I need it. Running Out of that really nice concealer? Pull it up in my loves and just order it. Looking for a brand new fave? Search bar works like a dream. The community tab/page is also great because I can ask others for some advice concerning my skin and hair care, or see how they are using their makeup to make some pretty amazing looks. My only issue is with the most recent update I’ve noticed a fair amount of bugs. I can’t access my VIB profile, and some search terms aren’t working, but I assume those will be straightened out soon.

Buyer beware! False Advertising!. Sephora used to be one of my favorite apps and places to buy makeup and skincare. I time my orders using the app when there are either promotions or nice samples I want to try. Samples were either substituted or omitted from 3 of my last 4 orders. It is no surprise that the samples that are always substituted or missing are the nicer brands and products, such YSL, Hermès, Chanel, Dior, and so on. Promotions also run out before they stop advertising them, so you may shop to spend enough for the promotion, then at checkout are told the promo is sold out. This has happened within an hour of some promotions. This is false advertising—enticing customers by advertising they will get something nice free with their purchases, and then not delivering it, or worse, delivering something inferior instead. I hope they stop this disreputable and unethical practice.

Easy to navigate. I love the ease of being able to shop and have it delivered instead of fighting my way through a crowded mall and annoying “try a sample” people. I also like getting a free mini size of my choice and samples (packaged and untouched by multiple human hands) if I purchase over a certain amount. Something they don’t do in stores. I give it four stars because you can only use Sephora gift cards and not any other kinds. I couldn’t use the JcPenny Sephora gift card. I had to go to JcPenny’s web site and purchase there which was a hassle and they didn’t have everything the regular sSephora does. Please change this!!!! I couldn’t even use a multiple location gift card.

Shipping is TERRIBLE. The app itself works well. I am Extremely disappointed with the shipping. I needed my order by Friday and ordered specifically because they said they could get it to me by Thursday, otherwise I would have just gone into the store. The delivery was delayed to Friday, then to Saturday, then Monday. They delivered and the shipment company emailed me 40 minutes after delivery to tell me and by that time it had been snagged. Emailed customer service about the later than tolerate and received an email from a computer generator. The only saving grace is when my package was stolen I got to actually talk with a customer service rep and they made it right so I will still eventually be getting my products. I’m hopeful they change shipping companies. Until then, I’ll be staying in store for all my purchasing needs.

Customer Service and Sephora!!. I scheduled a make up session at Sephora at King of Prussia Mall. I was a bit hesitant because It was my first time getting their make up service. And let me say it won’t be my last. I live in Delaware but I would definitely take the drive for Moon. Moon was the make up artist that I had the pleasure of meeting. Moon’s customer service was outstanding!!! She was personable and cheerful. Not only is she a beautiful soul but she is so talented. My makeup was flawless and was perfect for the occasion. She has such a great eye. Moon you are amazing thank you so much for making my day day and Sephora is lucky to have you as a part of the team!

Good shopping app, but could be better. I would love to give this a five-star rating because I love the convenience of shopping from home and finding exactly what I want without wandering around a Sephora store that may or may not have the items in stock, but there are a few problems. For instance, I am never able to find anything to do with my beauty matches because this app, or perhaps the website, insists that I have not completed my profile. I have. I am also bothered that in store we can access recommendations based on our scanned skin color, blushes, lip colors etc, but on the app, or website, we can only look at foundation recommendations. I would really like to have a fully operational mobile app, because it is my preferred way to shop.

Good for browsing only. This app is nice to browse products but serves no purpose if you actually want to make a purchase. On multiple occasions it tells me that my card details are incorrect at checkout & does not allow me to submit my order yet the Capital One app sends me a notification that the charge was approved. Customer service insists that it’s the cardholders fault & refuses to help. Shame because I like to order online if they don’t have what I want in-store or want to take advantage of any online promo & the app seems to have an issue taking my card. This is the only merchant that has an issue with my card. I don’t want to get charged multiple times trying to ensure I get what I want. Customer service should offer to assist in placing orders since they don’t do it in stores anymore.

False inclusivity. As a long time shopper and lover of Sephora products it makes me sad that a make up reseller has to be political. The way that Sephora has chose to make conservatives feel unwelcome within the company will make me take my money elsewhere. As a company that preaches about inclusivity and all beliefs it is so hypocritical to then try to ruin a beauty influencer reputation for it not being the same. As a conservative I believe every person’s life and voice has the same amount of value. We live in America and have the freedom to be and speak freely. I will not support a company that is trying to take away that right. It is so disturbing the amount of disrespect half of America is getting and Sephora has now become part of that problem. Remember it’s not hate speech just because it is speech that you hate. There is a difference.

My most used app. The app works perfectly with the store; in the store you can try out all of the products without committing. If you like the products enough, you can purchase them through the app and most times some of the really popular brands (Fenty for example) are sold out in stores yet are the first to be restocked in the app. I love that feature. Not to mention the added features such as beauty groups that really allow users to take part in conversations surrounding the products they purchase as well as other people that enjoy those same products with tips and tricks as to how they are being used. I love this app for inspo and collaborative work alike.

Smart, Easy, & Necessary App!. If you are a Sephora shopper than the Sephora app is 100% necessary, the Sephora app helps you keep track of your past purchases making it easy to reorder your favorite items, keeps track of your points so you can cash them in and receive free items in the bazaar, allows you to view products and reviews from other customers, and more. You can tailor your experience on the app to your wants, likes, and needs such as skin sensitivity, condition of your hair, eye color etc. the list goes on! Checking out is quick too you can save your methods of payment and PAY is available as well. It has made the shopping experience much more efficient!

Customer Service Issue. I have been a Play! By Sephora subscriber for several months. Apparently there was an issue with my bank 1 month and they gave me until the 14th to update my billing info. I attempted to do so & I had issues updating (it wouldn’t allow me to make it my default card). I immediately emailed them asking for help, & rather than responding to help they cancelled my subscription! Typically there are so many subscribers that you can’t even sign up. When I got my cancellation email - I immediately contacted them to fix the issue since I had already asked for help, & I basically got a “Sorry, can’t help you. Resubscribe!” I was soooo disappointed! The products are great as long as you fill out your beauty profile. But customer service isn’t helpful unless you call them.

App still has a long way to go... but good start. As a Rouge member for many years I have to say, this app really gives you a lot for the beauty community. I love the connection you make with like minded beauty fanatics like myself. I give 3 stars because Sephora has not been on its fulfillment-game, In 2019 it shouldn’t have taken my order 5 days and an email, for them to fulfill/ship my order. Living in my current location, Sephora is not the most convenient. I figured 3-4 days like you would with any website order.... except my order wasn’t even packaged up. It’s embarrassing that in oct 2019 it took my complaint to get a simple shipment out. I hold my hopes up for this app, because there is so much potential in this niche market! I really hope it lives up to my expectations.

Not as inclusive as they claim. After spending thousands upon thousands of dollars with Sephora the past 7-8 years, I am extremely disappointed in the company’s stance toward Amanda Ensing, and ultimately all conservatives. Inclusivity means including EVERYONE. It doesn’t mean only including those who think like you or those who will maintain and personally promote certain beliefs. As a privately owned business, you guys do have the right to cut ties with anyone you don’t want to work with, BUT you guys do not have the right to slander former sponsors and not pay them what you owe them after they did work that benefitted the company. I am extremely disappointed to have ever supported (and worked with as a brand rep) a company with such low moral and no backbone. There have been many concerning issues with Sephora, but this incident is the final straw. Please learn the meaning of inclusivity and diversity, and then do better.
