WOW LIFECHANGER!!!. Wow I am so glad I was recommended to try ZocDoc! I used to call up a good minimal of like 20 doctors, each call individually with many not picking up and then having to leave a voicemail and waiting for the response which can be very time consuming but then THIS just saved so much time for me! This is awesome and it’s so easy to use and also the way the app is set up it reminds you to book appointments in other things in relation to our health! 😁 Everyone wants to live a long life but why if you’re going to be in an unhealthy agonizing place, keep up on your health and make those appointments today. Now that we have ZocDoc you have no excuses, go get it winners!!! 💪

WOW IMPRESSIVE. I thought I was having a heart attack last night so I called 911. My blood pressure was so incredibly high. Paramedics told me I need to see a doctor immediately. Today I tried finding a primary care doctor through Google Maps and my insurance provider’s website, and I literally couldn’t find anything then I tried Zocdoc website (showed up from google -completely randomly- ) in order to find primary care doctors in the area. Not only I found a primary care doctor down the street, I was able to book an appointment online on the same say for a medical center that has decent reviews on google maps !!! I am so beyond thankful for this app. I possibly quite literally saved my life. Whoever came up with this idea I want to give you a big kiss right now. Anything that makes healthcare easier in the US is guaranteeing heaven. 🥺❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Poorly made App. This app is poorly made. How do you advertise yourself as an app to find doctors that take your insurance, without having to call every single one of them. But have a lack of doctors within people’s location, and I’m not the only one the countless number of one star reviews are an understatement of how bad this app is. And some of these doctors aren’t even professionals you would go to for certain appointments. Like why would I go to a nurse who specializes in Pap smears, I want a gynecologist not a nurse. You lack the resources to each run this app. If you can’t have every doctor that can we can google on your app then it’s pointless. Stop falsely marketing yourself to consumers who literally went out their way to try your app but found it more frustrating than calling every doctor in the area to see if they take our insurance. I even thought it would make it easier than calling your insurance company but eeerrrr nope it’s pointless. This app isn’t what it’s made out to be, respectfully.

Constantly problems and glitches. First major problem is that it NEVER has my insurance information saved. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve rescanned my card or manually entered in my insurance information, it almost always asks me to do so again before booking an appointment. The second problem is...I can rarely BOOK an appointment. The majority of doctors I try booking with, whether they be new doctors or doctors I’ve been a patient of for years, they booking system will show they have no appointments. Not for a day, or a week, or even a month, there are just no available appointments EVER. And I have called and made appointments myself, so I know it’s just a glitch and not that most doctors I need to see are inexplicably booked through eternity; but I don’t *want* to book by phone, that has been incredibly difficult lately as well, I just want the app to WORK. And yes, I have un-installed/re-installed it at least half a dozen times, no change.

I recommend Zoc Doc to my patients. I work as an urgent care provider. ZocDoc is great especially for PPO patients who don’t know where to start when I’m recommending they follow up with a specialist. I find that so many people don’t understand their in network benefits - granted, I barely do myself and everyone’s is so nuanced. Unfortunately, if you have an HMO, subsidized medical coverage (such as Medi-caid) or Kaiser, your options will be at the mercy of your insurance designated plan. But for those with PPO plans, ZocDoc is wonderful. I tell my patients it’s Yelp and OpenTable for medical providers. Some tips, remember, to make sure you’ve filtered for the actual specialist you’re trying to find. For example, some patients that type in “eczema” or “warts” when they’re trying to book with a dermatologist or “ingrown toe nail” trying to book a podiatrist will end up finding the urgent care. Sure, urgent care providers like me can tell you want to do but usually I’m sure you wanted to see the dermatologist or actual podiatrist.

Incorrect information. Tried booking an appointment through ZocDoc. Searched for doctors in my area who take my insurance and who specialize in my needs. After booking, the doctors office calls and let me know they are do not practice in the area I was looking for and said they get that a lot as ZocDoc has the wrong info. I gave ZocDoc another try and booked an appointment time with a 2nd doctor and the doctors office later called and said that time was not available and I would need to rescheduled. Their next appointment was two months out. Was getting frustrated but was about to try for my third and final time but something told me to look at the doctors reviews. Turns out someone with the same insurance as me booked them and after going through the appointment the doctors office told them they actually didn’t take the insurance. This app is full of incorrect information, didn’t save me time, and still had to call the doctors office so was not as easy as they make it seem in the commercial. At least that has been in my experience.

I’m just trying to get help. For background knowledge, I have been seeing a psychiatrist in illinois and have just moved to Colorado. My insurance is under illinois Blue cross blue shield, but the app seems to show me that I can still get a psychiatrist under this insurance. Also, I struggle with anxiety -social anxiety included- so it can take me days to weeks to build up the strength to make a simple phone call, let alone schedule appointments. This is the second time that I have scheduled an appointment with 2 different psychiatrists who say they will use my insurance. This is the second time I’ve made the appointments and waited a half hour the morning of, only to get no messages about getting a link to the video calls (also specified under my appointment information). This is the second time my appointment has been cancelled without warning with no response without building the strength to reach out. This makes me realize why people don’t reach out for help. Because it’s so difficult just to get. Makes me also wonder what would have happened if I had decided to do in-person visits rather than virtual.

The best app to find any Doctor and Specialist.. No other apps has been better to me than Zocdoc. Strongly recommend this app. And the best you can do is share it after you try it. It’s totally free. And it doesn’t hurt to share so thing that has been good to you. I share it to all my family, friends and everyone who needs it, all the time I’m always sharing this app. And all of them appreciate it afterwards. Because this app is easy to use and convenient. I hope many other Doctors join this app so we can also find them. The video visit its a plus as well. Because you can see a Doctor from the comfort of your home when you don't require an office visit. So I like that I have the office or video visit available to choose. Thanks again Zocdoc, you been good to me for a while now. And I am thankful.

Zocdoc is seriously awesome!!. Zocdoc has provided the missing link between health insurance, providers, and your needs. It’s so unbelievably awesome to be able to find providers near your location, who take your insurance, who have availability/are accepting new patients; plus being able to actually see their schedules and what other patients have said about them, all in one place?!? Incredible!!! This is revolutionary compared to the dark ages of going through a list of providers supplied by the insurance company, (most of whom were not accepting patients, didn’t actually take that insurance any more, didn’t have appointments available for weeks or months, etc.) and then looking up their ratings on separate sites of unknown accuracy. The only feature I wish they’d add is a way to find labs/bloodwork places.

Terrible for those living in NH & Maine. The app only has 4 doctors in the entire state of NH, none in all of Maine and no dentists in either state. Yet everything is concentrated for the state of Massachusetts with more showing towards Boston. Conclusion- this app is only good for those living in major city areas, if you live further you get less or nothing for results even if you live by 4 major family practices with a 2 hospitals nearby. So for me app is useless and will be deleted due to limited information in my area, back to trying to search manually again. App is limiting and every update should be including 100+ doctors of all practices in the nation, along with app improvements. App improvements are worthless if they don't also include the primary function of the app, more doctors of all practices. Also, would be nice to include other doctors in the same practices as current one's shown and if the practice is part of any affiliated hospitals or independent private practices.

Rarely Accurate Insurance Information. Of the 3 times I’ve used this app to find a doctor that takes my insurance, it has been incorrect twice, leaving me with a bill because the practices were not straightforward about whether or not they took my insurance. There’s no simple way of providing that feedback in the app for them to update and prevent future users from having the same issue. I’ve also had 2/3 appointments reassigned to different doctors and/or practitioners. Because this happens on the practice’s end, I can’t submit a review at the end of my visit because it’s about a different person. Zoc Doc should give you an option to select the provider that you actually saw if you submit proof of visit. I need this app to work because it’s a critical service, but I don’t trust it at the moment. Maybe I’ll try it again if they incorporate these features to make the platform more accurate.

What has happened to Zocdoc?. Used to be a major fan and in the last week, I have had two doctors appointments canceled by the physicians claiming that an ENT does not do ears but was listed as available for ear issues and the second appointment just got cancellation for due to what the message says it is a technical issue So what is going on? What is the use of confirming appointments with doctors that cancel after having booked the appointment weeks ahead? Unacceptable of any app but least of all one that we thought very highly of Update: Just got the alternate appointment that I made after the ENT doctor I made appointment here and a couple of days before the appointment called me to let me know that while he was an ENT he did not do ears and Today, just got to the alternative doctor I made last minute appointment with and was told I had to bring a referral to see the doctor - no where in the Zocdoc appointment section was I asked for the referral and I do have an ENT referral

Fantastic updated information. This app is priceless. I often turn to my health provider to ask for doctors that accept their insurance. Most of the time I get outdated or inaccurate information. Using Zoc-doc is awesome because the keep updated information about different doctors and specialties. Just give Zoc-doc your insurance information and your address and they will do the rest. I found to doctors that are close to me making things so much more convenient. The doctors are also rated by their patients and are available for your decision making needs. You can also book appointments thu the app and even electronically fill out new patient paperwork. Saving you tons of time. Great app! 😎😎

Great app but it still falls short.. I love Zocdoc, it’s beneficial to me and keeps me organized to when I have appointments. I receive emails and even texts to confirm or remind me of an upcoming appointment. With that being said, I don’t love the fact that you can’t tell which doctors will charge you what amount, which ones are ACTUALLY for your insurance and the rescheduling of appointments without your notice. I came to this app to ease the trouble of calling every doctor and setting up appointments. It’s frightening enough meeting a doctor for the first time and...they’re terrible. They make you feel uncomfortable, insult you indirectly and/or their staff makes the entire experience even worse. What I got was exactly what I asked for. Easy to use, easy to review but there are still flaws. I’ve had difficulty finding ones that take my insurance and then the issue of copay. You honestly never know what to expect. I’ve had them call me only to find out what I’m paying AFTER the entire session. For some it’s $15, others $30 and it can go upwards of $300. The other issue is the rescheduling. I had one doctor completely inconvenience me by changing my appointment. That inconvenience led me to working on a day I usually had off and I ended up with a severe cold, forcing me to cancel majority of my other appointments. In the end, it’s what you make of it. I’m just not a fan of doctors cause in the end they just want money.

Great App for people looking for new/closer doctors. I love the convenience & how you get to read honest reviews from past patients about the doctors performance & behavior during times of examination. I like to google maps the location & look at the street view so I get an understanding of the area and parking availability. It’s so easy to use select the type of doctor you require (they cover a wide variety of not all services), you put your location or general area, the date you’d like to be seen and your insurance provider & it gives you the option to put your whole insurance card or to just list what kind of insurance you have if you have concerns with misconduct or doctors billing insurance. It’s unbelievable how easy it is to schedule/ Cancel/ change appointments without waiting on hold with reception. A little warning depending on your location you may experience a lack of professionalism or an increase waiting time or have a very small reception room that fills up quick so just keep in mind the area your doctor is located & please read the reviews for the doctors because some of them can be real creeps with shady business locations

No confirmation from doctor. I do not recall reading that the app was for virtual appointments only. I didn’t realize it was a virtual appointment until Zoc Doc emailed and confirmed. Also, I scheduled for a “new patient” visit - Zoc Doc confirmed my appointment as an “illness” visit. I received an email from Zoc Doc yesterday that they just sent my appointment time to the doctor for an appointment that is scheduled for today - told me to watch my email for a confirmation from the doctor and instructions on how to join the video. It’s been several days since I scheduled my appointment and I do not have a confirmation of my appointment from the doctor and my appointment is for today. Why did Zoc Doc send my appointment to the doctor the day before the scheduled time when I made the appointment several days ago? I’m wondering if this app even communicates with the doctors offices. I canceled my appointment via the app - if I’m billed for the appointment, I’ll be sure to forward the bill to Zoc Doc!

Great App For Finding Accurate In-Network Care. I love using Zocdoc as opposed to calling my insurance company for a list of in-network doctors. Sign up is easy. Uploading your insurance card info is also very easy…just scan a pic on your phone. Just be sure to double check the info because I’ve done this with 3 different insurances and one of them was incorrect. However, they have an easy process to change it to the correct one. Best of all, once you do it, you don’t need to input your info again! I also love that it not only tells me who’s in my network, it also tells me significant info like distance from me, availability, a short bio of the dr, plus reviews! And, you can even see who’s available out of network, so if you have out of network benefits, you can see whomever you please! Seriously, one of the best health apps out there!

Avoid at All Costs. I rarely write reviews and I am extremely hesitant to project a singular experience of a provider on a marketplace onto an entire app but after several terrible experiences this app feels medically negligent as do the doctors. I’ve been to a orthopedist who erroneously diagnosed me with athletes foot and a bone spur. A dermatologist who postponed the meeting 15 minutes before it starting then wasn’t able to authorize my prescriptions with insurance. Another dermatologist who tried to sell me an egregiously expensive product and then wouldn’t refill the prescriptions I’ve used for years. A primary care physician where a later doctor described her care as “there to get you out the door and irresponsible.” The app shows drs drowning in positive reviews and seems to aggressively bubble compliments to the top. Drs can cancel with almost no notice and way too many agree to treat you online for conditions that they definitely should ask you to come in for. For all its glitz and polish, zocdoc pushes a last minute “in and out” approach to doctors that results in inferior care with professionals who are not significantly vetted or held accountable. Just call a dr to get quality care and never use this app - it is not worth it.

Great Idea but the execution needs attention. I work in a different city than I live so my primary doctor is unavailable to me most times. I love the fact that I can get on ZocDoc when I need to and find a doctor in my area fairly easily. For the most part the system works. However, I think the relationship ZocDoc has with its doctors needs help as I have been told more than once that the doctors don’t work with ZocDoc even though they are listed on the ZocDoc app. I have had appointments that I’ve booked through the app cancelled hours and days later for seemingly no reason. When contacting the doctors offices directly (mostly to find out why the appointment was cancelled) I’ve been told that they don’t work with ZocDoc. In three cases, two of them I was able to rebook my appointment directly with the doctors office. In one case, I wasn’t able to book because the ZocDoc booking was canceled just days before the actual appointment. All of these situations were frustrating to say the least. However, I will give ZocDoc credit for creating a space where I can even find a doctor, which is way better than what my insurance company offers.

Delete or update reviews.. I had an appointment with a doctor (Alejandro Mora) two months ago, the first visit was fine, i asked them if they could recommend me a Nutritionist, but they said “you don’t need that, we can help you”. Well, they were wrong, they don’t have any idea about Nutrition. I told them my diet during the first visit and they said “you are good”, then they told me that i needed to make another appointment for nutrition. Basically, I paid $75 dollar for my second appointment and just to hear exactly the same that i heard in the first appointment. I learned my lesson, next time, i will find a professional (Nutritionist). Well, my issue with this app was that i wanted to delete my 5 stars review that i wrote after my first visit with this Doctor, because i was very disappointed in the second visit, i send an email to zocdoc asking if it could be possible to delete the review, but they never have responded. So i decided to delete my zocdoc account. period.

Pretty Pleased but One Issue. I’ve booked two appointments and it was pretty great I have to say. The app is easy, intuitive, and way better than cold calling different doctor’s offices. However, I have a point of feedback for the developers- in the app there is a “browse doctors nearby” section and the very first person to show up for me on that list is an NP. I think it’s very misleading to list nurse practitioners (and PAs) under a list to find doctors because there is a vast difference in training and expertise between physicians and midlevel providers. I think it’s fine to have them on the platform but please have them listed in a separate section where they aren’t lumped with doctors because they aren’t doctors. It’s misleading and honestly unethical to patients since many will think they’re going to see a doctor when they aren’t. The huge differences in training are not made clear to the end user.

An app that help you like your best friend does. I rated it a 5 because it’s well above a 4, though not perfect. I hope it becomes the standard across medical scheduling and medical portal gateway for lab test results and medical center appointments. Currently it’s brought incredibly efficiency and access to traditional doctor appts. It handles the doctor searching based on insurance coverage (or not). The patient can also consider medical affiliations, distance, other availability and patient reviews. It facilitates insurance coverage early in the process minimizing wasted time. It also reminds patient on general well being visits for skin screening, optical, dental cleaning and the like. The tool has literally helped me get better and stay better.

Amazingly Easy. Absolutely wonderful having this app! I love that I can chose ANY doctor that I want, just based off of their availability. There is absolutely nothing worse than having to Google “doctors near me” and having to call each individual one to find out who can or has time to see you immediately! Oh, and if you don’t make an appointment with each one at the very moment, by the time you call back bc you wasted all that time calling every single doctor, just to realize that one was the soonest appointment and doctor available even though they are booked 3 weeks out at the moment, then by the time you call back to schedule that appointment, it’s already been taken!!! So now you have to wait 4 weeks to be seen! So, basically, like I’ve said, this is an absolutely great app for SO many reason other than just what I’ve mentioned. I recommend this app to everyone I know for it’s easy convenience! Also nice that I don’t have to deal with calling and as soon as someone answers the phone, I’m not being thrown on hold before I’m even given the chance to answer them back as to if, “it’s okay to hold!” So take it from me, this is a MUST HAVE app!!!

Great app, but I have to fill out forms twice.. I love this app! It makes life so much easier when it comes to finding a doctor in your area, that accepts your insurance and other preferences you may have about your healthcare provider. Booking an appointment is a breeze and I love that you can read reviews from real people about the providers they’ve seen. I feel that this app makes it easy for people who don’t fully know how to go about finding a doctor. My only qualm with this app is that sometimes I will fill out all of the forms they request of me in the app and then when I get to the office, I have to fill out almost the same forms again just in-person. It’s not the biggest deal in the world and it’s only really when you’re a new patient somewhere, but it can be a little annoying. Other than that, I love this app and it makes me feel confident with the choices I make for my healthcare.

Not sure info is up to date…. I am a dermatologist in Iowa. I put in my office address and 30 day away appointment time as a search. The recommended provider who was the only ‘hit’ was a nurse practitioner herbalist who did not seem to practice Dermatology. The rest of the results were grayed out below that one. I was not even listed in the results although I have practiced in this area since 1997. My ex-partner, who retired last summer was still listed as a provider in our office. One dermatologist who popped up is still listed as practicing in Ames, IA and she hasn’t worked there in over a year and is actually in a new office close to the location I listed. One dermatologist listed is actually a dermatopathologist who does not see patients. If there is a way for providers to update their info, let me know and i’d be glad to help the developers update the database. As it is now…needs work.

Love easiness of use of the App. I have been using Zocdoc on and off for years. The reason I love it, is I can search for the doctor and specialty I am looking for with the filters and see if my insurance is accepted, plus see if they accept new patients. Most of the time, when you try and do this on your own, you call your insurance company, your insurance tells you to double check with providers. Then the listed providers they provide you with are not accepting new patients. Zocdoc makes it easy to make an appointment. Super convenient and time saving. Today I called Zocdoc to change my name and spoke to Rachel who help make the change.I always recommend Zocdoc to my friends.

It’s not what it promises to be.. Zocdoc has changed dramatically. The service used to charge doctors a flat fee to be on provider list. Patients who needed to see a doctor could always find someone and pay a reasonable fee if no insurance and expect to use most insurances including Medi-Cal and HMO. If they wanted to schedule with same doctor for follow up, this option was always available. Since June of 2022, the billing structure has changed. The doctor has to pay $40 for each patient who books online, whether the patient is seen or not. This, of course, became a much more expensive proposition for the doctor and he has option to cap his monthly expense, which makes him unavailable to receive any future referrals after he reaches the cap. The new billing structure placed a huge barrier to patient-doctor interaction on Zocdoc. Firstly, the doctor can’t afford to accept Medi-Cal or HMO patients anymore. Secondly, to cover increased expenses, the doctor must increase his charges for patients coming from zocdoc. Thirdly, the moment the doctor reaches his cap he becomes unavailable to more patients on zocdoc. Therefore, the choice of doctors, obviously, diminishes drastically. My advice, find a different service to look for doctors, just do a simple Google search. Zocdoc isn’t worth it. Developer responded with a lame robotic answer, not covering a single issue raised by my review, just call us if you have questions…yeah right.

Wrong!. It’s a terrible app. I made and appointment at 7 or so this morning for 3pm. After signing bin with apple. (1)I’ve had something weird going on for 30+ years but there is no information about it anywhere. I even called Mayo Clinic. Found a few vague clues.I may be the only person with my symptoms and I was excited to finally talk to a dermatologist. They said they couldn’t talk to me if they didn’t know who I was. Are you new.? Then create an account. Ok. My choices are sign in with google and facebook. Where the heck did apple go? They must e different Sign i with google (2) Wrong, I see it am logged in on app but it doesn’t count. Why have an app that SAYS you have an appointment if you don’t. I call them and am told I’m logged into my apple account’ AHA! you do know me!! SO!!!!!! why do I have to log in. Again. They gave me a medical problem not cured one

The only way I stay on top of appointments!. I found ZocDoc in a google search for my insurances inservice providers and it truly had changed my life. I was so bad at staying on top of my family and my appointments mainly because of the coverage issue, not wanting to call a ton of places, and being burned by out of service costs so many times. ZocDoc has streamlined everything! I can look up and book services in seconds and then they are added to my calendar. They check that my insurance is accepted and do all the hard work of finding nearby providers for me to choose from. Seriously obsessed with this app/site and won’t use anything else!

Honestly amazing app. I got recommended this app by a friend and it makes life so much easier. I find that trying to go through my actual healthcare website is difficult in terms of functionality and being able to see who my doctor is. As a POC woman with plenty of health issues and needed doctor visits, I find it essential I know who my doctor is, the reviews, and what they look like and this makes it so much easier. App has many features but is simple enough to book a quick appointment. I would recommended to anyone who is struggling to find doctors! Also love the in and out of network provider feature.

Avoid using this at all costs. If you want to avoid paying horrendous surprise fees then avoid using this app and just find a provider through your insurances website. Every time I’ve used this app for a doctor (it’ll say yes the doctor is in network) they NEVER are or I have to pay a PREMIUM bill for whatever reason it could be my insurance but this isn’t the first time I’ve had this issue happen when booking with this app. My husband has the same insurance and doesn’t have this issue when he uses our insurances website for a doctor. There are no huge doctor bills or surprise bills for him. But when I use this app all of a sudden there’s a $200 charge or $500 charge that I had no idea of and it’s the doctors they choose to put in your network! There are too many surprise fees and bills it’s much safer to just use your insurances website to find a REAL in network provider. Save yourself the headache and spending hundreds on bills by just booking your own appointment by calling through your insurances website of approved doctors in network.

Usually I don’t listen to ads on podcasts but. I cannot recommend this app enough. First time using Zocdoc and I can’t imagine not using it again after such an easy experience with booking and finding the right doctors. Navigating with insurance and finding right doctors can be a headache but Zocdoc saved me time and energy by having everything in one place. Zocdoc has many filters and options that include if you prefer male or female doctors. They also include an additional setting to sex that is inclusive to trans people. Something I really appreciate is that they include ratings and show results based on your location and reviews.

Super helpful. I’m honestly surprised how good this app is. They showed me quality providers with reviews who were taking new patients and exact days and times they were available - many of them had openings the next day or week. It was easy to book through the app - I didn’t have to call or go to another website. I’ve tried searching for a pcp multiple times throughout the past year and when searching through my insurance portal or other search engines they would say the provider accepted new patients but when I called they actually weren’t still accepting new ones or the next available appointment was months away. After trying and failing to find one, I would just give up for a couple months then try again. I randomly heard about zocdoc when listening to a podcast (shoutout crime junkie) and I thought I’d give it a shot. I found a pcp and had an appointment booked for the next day. I’m honestly so surprised that it was so easy. I’d recommend to anyone.

Don’t get specific. Useful unless you need to narrow the search by something like area (video appointments apparently negate area restrictions, even 2000+miles away?), insurance (maybe they used to take it, but presently? Nope.), doctors that treat children (they may, they may not), or doctors accepting new patients (even when it says they are, they probably aren’t). They also give you no way to contact the providers directly, you have to just make an appointment through the app and wait for the provider to contact you. I’ve had four appointments cancelled because they either don’t treat children (when I specified in the “filters”) or because they aren’t accepting new patients (when their page said “accepting new patients”) and wasted literally three weeks because I have to wait to be contacted, instead of giving me a number to call the office and ask them for accurate info. All in all, google is easier.

Waste of Time. I downloaded ZocDoc with the hopes to schedule a virtual appointment to discuss anxiety. The first appointment I schedule was canceled the day before the appointment despite several confirmations and reminders because the doctor supposedly didn’t accept new patients. All of this should be in the initial intake forms. Then, I had a phone call scheduled for a set time to discuss other options. The phone call never came. Finally, I scheduled a second appointment through the app. Again, I received several confirmations and reminders. The day of the appointment came. I checked-in through the app and online. Both said the provider would be in contact with how to connect. 15 minutes before my appointment I called, and a ZocDoc rep said my appointment was canceled because the office was closed. Nothing was reflected in the app. I asked to speak with a supervisor, one was wasn’t available. Not only did I never get help, they only heightened my anxiety.

Great idea terrible execution. I was really hoping this app would help me find doctors optometrists and dentists within my service providers network as we all know how much of a pain that is. unfortunately when I set up an appointment, twice was I called the day of appointment stating that Zocdoc system was down and couldn’t verify my appointment even though I received a verification text saying that it was approved. When I did make it to the optometrist for a standard vision check they informed me that I have a copay for a doctors specialist visit vs going through my vision insurance as the office was an ophthalmologist not an optometrist. All in all this app in theory is much needed but between not syncing with office calendars and not selecting the appropriate health services I give this 2 stars as it just as much as an inconvenience as finding Service providers and scheduling appointments without the app.

Can’t trust it. This app seems like a great idea, but you can’t trust anything from it. I’m sitting here at my first appointment at a new doctor, but two hours early. I got a text that said 4:15 and an email that said 2pm from Zocdoc. I call and they confirm 2pm. I get here at 2 and they say, “no. It’s 4:15.” Now I’m wasting the whole afternoon. Zocdoc would work if every office had plenty of staff to check everyday that the info patients are getting from the app is accurate. Every time I have scheduled a visit via the app, the appointment is cancelled or changed because the office didn’t set the right hours. It’s hard and scary enough to visit a new strange doctor, I don’t want to make it harder with 500 bogus emails from every party providing bad info. I’m going to assume that the insurance info doctors provide to Zocdoc is correct, but who knows.

The best way to book an appointment.. I’ve been using Zocdoc for 4 years now and I absolutely love it. I’ve been able to find wonderful health professionals that we absolutely love. It’s great because it’s an easy and efficient way to book an appointment, you no longer have to call the office and wait forever for someone to pickup the phone. Everything is done online. Only caveat is that it depends on how fast the medical office confirms your appointment from Zocdoc... so sometimes it can take a few hours before they even see that you made an appointment on the app. But that’s only happened once or twice, for the most part my appointments are pretty much confirmed right away and I’ve been able to see doctors same day which is so rare! I’ve told all my friends and family about the app and they love it too!

Mostly great!. I love the ease of use in trying to find a doctor for my needs. It DRAMATICALLY reduces time and stress trying to just randomly call doctor offices to see if they are accepting new patients or if they have any appointments for the days and time I need. Everything is very easy. The only thing I find really aggravating with Zocdoc is the need to continually upload photos of my drivers license and insurance card when nothing has changed. Even when I am visiting the same provider— again, nothing has changed. It’s only been a couple of months since I was last there and I have to submit my drivers license and insurance card for every appointment. Other doctors office just ask if anything has changed and if not, no action needed. Not the case with Zocdoc

Inaccurate. My first time using Zocdoc was for a therapy appointment, which I needed badly at the time. I put in my insurance and it showed me who was supposed to be in network; so I booked one who happened to be sponsored but had awesome reviews, showed up to my appointment, and was told sorry, we don’t accept your insurance, but we can see you for $350 an hour cash. So Zocdoc is allowing this doctor’s office, who doesn’t accept my insurance, to pay them to falsely advertise that they ARE in my network, and then trying to get people to pay nearly $400 anyway. SO shady. I tried again for a different kind of specialist, and it will show me 2 specialists and then 3-5 completely unrelated doctors, followed by another specialist and then 5 more unrelated doctors. Will not let you filter out the unrelated ones, will not let you filter distance, and when you sort by distance, you get a ton of unrelated doctors. This app is such a great idea and has so much potential, but for now is honestly pretty trash.

Shady. For starters, the site is not as easy to navigate as they make it look on TV. Secondly, they just give you a list of all providers for the particular issue you’re looking for without telling you whether or not they’re in your insurance plan so you have to go through each doctors profile one at a time to see if they’re in network for your insurance. Then once I finally found a doctor and booked an appointment, THEN they informed me that the doctor has to be in the same state as you regardless of the fact that it’s a video visit. So why was the list showing me doctors for all 50 states in the country when I had already put in my address?!!!! So I had to cancel the appointment with that doctor and then find a doctor that was both in my insurance and in the state of Connecticut from this big long list of providers from all insurance plans all over the country I finally found a doctor and booked an appointment. A few hours before the appointment, his billing department calls me looking for “more information”, but my phone showed that their phone number is located out of Texas!! What kind of doctor operates in Connecticut and has a billing department in Texas?! At this point, I was beginning to doubt the safety of this site when it comes to my personal information and I already gave them copies of my insurance card!!!!! I am seriously concerned now about being a victim of identity theft, and having someone else get medical treatment using my insurance card.

The best. Love this app. It’s so great that you can search for doctors based on your need and insurance coverage, and schedule appointments all within the app. And you can track your appointment status to make sure the office approves the appointment as well as fill out your medical history so the office already has the paperwork needed before you get to the office. This really takes the dread out of making doctors appointments and makes it so easy. The app is really innovative in terms of the interface. Love that you can add the appointment right to the calendar in your phone and also track your past appointments to make sure you’re staying on top of your health. I am 100% more likely to use an office that participates in this app than one that doesn’t. Thank you to whoever came up with this!

Causes more problems when most providers use it wrong. Whenever I make an appointment through ZocDoc I follow up and call the provider to confirm. About 85% of the time through my experience, upon following up either the provider isn’t actually in-network despite it saying that they are in ZocDoc or more commonly the appointment I thought I scheduled isn’t actually available (and sometimes they aren’t available for months). When I callout the provider’s rep about this issue they seem like they have no idea why I’m frustrated and offer zero sympathy… and sometimes they get mad at me for explaining my frustration… this is usually after spending 10 - 15 minutes spelling out all the personal info that should have been provided by ZocDoc. Medical care should be more delicately handled vs victimizing patients (I know this seems dramatic but when dealing with certain medical conditions and then needing to deal with this mess - it really does feel violating). I love ZocDoc’s interface, all the info it provides, reviews, and such ease of use. Unfortunately providers seem to have difficulty syncing their system… and show no cares in the world about the inconvenience and confusion it causes. I think it used to be better. I’ll probably just use my insurance website, moving forward… even though it’s horrible… and just call providers directly vs attempting to schedule online.

Recommend to my patients!. I found this app through a Reddit post and have been using it for all of my provider needs. I’ve had only good experiences and found doctors that listen to me through here. I also work in a doctors office and whenever I have a pt who is unable to visit our office due to insurance issues, I recommend they use this app to find something that works within their network and to find someone who fits their needs! Healthcare is already frustrating to navigate on your own and it’s so nice to have a central place where you can read reviews, make appointments and guarantee in network availability. I cannot recommend more. I’m not sure if they’ve fixed this but I do wish they would make the phone number and address more easily accessible for where your appt. Otherwise, love this app and surprised its not more well known.

Best experience ever. This app has helped me booked EVERY single one of my health appointments . From doctors to psychiatrist and dental appointments. I am new to scheduling visits since I’ve never done it before .I am able to view open scheduling times and pick one that fits for me - same day! Or whenever one is open. After each appointment is set , the office of which I set the appointment will call or send an email to confirm. One and done . Great . I can enter in my insurance and that app will help me find insurance that works with MY network . Has never failed . Keeps me up to date on my health and will remind me when a check up is due . Thank you .

PROVIDERS INFO IS FALSE - DO NOT TRUST. Used this app to book a doctor that advertised himself as in network. Went to the doctor, paid my copay and left. Months later I got bills in the mail for $200,$300,$400. Apparently they were advertised as in network when they weren’t. I then learned this same docto was extorting other friends and colleagues on the same platform. When I contacted ZocDoc I bugged them for months - they did nothing, even though each provider signs a contract saying they will tell the truth about whether or not they’re in network. Disappointed such a great idea cares so little about patients and clients. This is one of the very many things wrong with healthcare in America. UPDATE: they wrote back to me on the App Store saying to contact them and they’ll help me out to fix this. I’ve legit been contacting ZocDoc for help since April (it’s July) and they tell me they haven’t been able to reach the doctors office for 4 months. I wish I could believe that.

Only for high end insurances.. I actually do think this app could be super amazing, but each time it’s just been more of a hassle than making a quick google search and call. If you don’t have high end insurances, this app isn’t for you as you will never find one in network with “lower” insurances. And if you do, I promise they’ll call an hour before hand, cancel and say they don’t take your insurance, or that you could just “pay a small fee instead”. And if you do have high end insurances, they still make you put down credit card information but will never tell you prices if anything’s charged, you have to call the office you’re booking with directly which is so sketchy to me. (I’ve been hacked one to many times, and let’s be real. It’s not fun having to update all your bills/accounts to new debit information.) overall just not worth the it honestly.

Convenience heavily depends on location. Hi! I started using this app again after about 2-3 years away from it and it definitely has improved. It is an easy app to use, but when I am searching for a specialist or a primary care provider it displays options that are at least 30-40 minutes away. If I filter my results to a specific day, it displays (non sponsored) doctors who are in the NYC area when there are definitely a few closer doctors available. This could be a glitch but I was able to work through it and found an available doctor who fit my schedule. My only concern is that this app will always be more convenient for individuals in densely populated areas. I live in a big college town in NJ and I was still unable to find a doctor that was less than a 20 minute drive away. Again, it is a VERY convenient app to use especially if you are on the go but there needs to be a significant user increase in order for everyone to benefit from Zocdoc.

Very handy, helps organize and prioritize health. I love zocDoc so far! Very user friendly, useful app that I know many others have longed for before. It helps keep you organized AND learn to prioritize your health. Connects to many differing virtual calendars, allows insurance confirmation…and no snarky person on the phone who’s busy when all YOU WANT is the next available appointment. Only one issue I see…more doctors should use it. Until more doctors sign up or agree, it can feel like certain services you can’t find “in network” unless you either drive far or change insurance coverage. This is just another thing that exasperates sooooo many people regarding medical appointments and it’s not really on ZocDoc but medical industry as a whole (at least as I see). So…try it out and if you feel like it doesn’t work great for you then it might just take a little more time for doctors in your area to jump on the bandwagon. I still use it even though I can’t book them all through there because it still helps!

Lacking significant information, poorly organized. This site has one choosing a specialist, but including a wide range of physicians who are outside of the specialty range. E.g., pediatrician is listed when seeking an orthopedic surgeon. No where does the skimpy data provided indicate this doc is an orthopedic surgeon. Especially not when the person to be seen is a senior citizen! Nor does it discriminate/refine the data search to identify any details re the physicians, note their credentials, area of surgery expertise (e.g., upper or lower body), where they perform surgery, etc. I do not think it is at all prudent to tell the person seeking a doctor to have them take a picture of that person’s insurance card. With wide ranging identity theft issues around the globe, this is a thoughtless request to make. In addition, your first suggestions are so-called ‘sponsored’ docs. Yep, put your advertisers first in line. Never mind where their business is at, no details re their qualifications.

why is this in the canadian app store. only for americans, don’t waste your time. and to company why would you even list this here? are u ok?

Phenomenal!. Amazing service, team, and all-round company! Thanks ZocDoc!

All the recommendations are in the U.S.!. Heard about this app on a CANADIAN podcast, but when I downloaded and did a few searches, all the practitioners returned were in Washington state—I’m in Vancouver, Canada. Very misleading!

A must have. This app is so good I’m writing my first App Store review ever for it. I recently moved to a new city and was so lost in my search for basic care. Then I found Zocdoc. Zocdoc completely removes all anxiety around booking appointments and finding new physicians. I’ve been very happy with the doctors I’ve been connected with through their directory and booking is SO simple. They save all your insurance information and only show you doctors in network and near a location of your choosing. With the help of this app I am more on top of my health than ever!

For my fellow young adults… YOU NEED THIS APP!!. I’m 19. My parents didn’t teach me much about scheduling appointments or finding a good doctor. This app is amazing, it’s so easy to use and perfect for anyone. I’d recommend this to any young adult, it simplifies things so much. You can find doctors through specialties and read through reviews to pick one that’s right for you. Scheduling appointments is a breeze, and the app can even add your appointment to your calendar, which my ADHD really appreciates. Uploading insurance takes 5 seconds. Overall, 10/10, this is a must-have app for anyone and everyone.

This app genuinely changed my life. I have extremely high anxiety (which I was able to find help for through the app) and I could never figure out how to book appointments / find care providers online. This app makes it SO simple and capable for busy people to manage their appointments and look up practitioners. The only thing I wish it had was a greater selection of doctors. But other than that it is amazing and everyone should use it if you get anxious calling offices / have a hard time remembering appointments.

Smart idea but not efficient. I made an appointment and fill out all the necessary documents. When i arrived to my appointment. I was told they did not accept my insurance and then i informed the fronts desk that i used ZocDoc and told them the app said they did. To summarize, i wasted my time and they asked me to reschedule once they can verify my insurance. (Self pay price was $350) Additionally, when i check the app ZocDoc. It stated that my appointment was canceled and i have no idea why. Furthermore, i was told that i needed to fill out more forms because the app and the providers’ system doesn’t have a way to access my information. I would just use this app as a last resort to find providers and then contact the providers directly because this app is not efficient enough.

Lifesaver!. I keep forgetting about ZocDoc and trying to find doctors on my own by looking through the covered providers lists from my insurance, which takes ages to call offices to ask if they’re accepting new patients and if they have availability that isn’t three months or more away… it took me over an hour yesterday to make one appointment! Today though I somehow stumbled upon ZocDoc again and bing bang boom I’ve got an appointment with a doctor in like five minutes! I love that ZocDoc finds me doctors who are in my insurance plan and allows me to book and modify appointments online. It’s too easy!

Life Changing. This app has been a life changer! I’m being much more proactive with my health because it’s so easy to find providers and book appointments through this app! Before this app, I would do my best to determine the best provider by searching on my insurance website and google, cross checking reviews between several sites and then calling around. Very time-consuming! I would often have to adjust my schedule to fit the provider’s hours. Now, I just search, review and pick the provider who fits my schedule.

Needs some help, but very helpful. My kids aren’t in my account, they’re an afterthought when making an appointment. So I looked everywhere to add a kid and eventually found it. My son has different insurance than me, so we apparently have to have separate accounts. My son and I have similar names, so after I added him, I didn’t know which one was him, or who was who. Since I had to create a new account for my child, on account of the insurance and name thing, one of him is 107 and the other of him is 7. So the app is seriously missing features for single or married parents with one or multiple kids who may have different insurance plans. I work in tech and I would attribute this glaring bug to a likely lack of diversity in the software life cycle. Diversity isn’t just about ethnicity. Developers with kids would have never let that slide. A competitor with kid-friendly and partner features could easily take market share from this otherwise novel app.

Doctor may not be in your network. I had the flu and used Zoc Doc to find an urgent care facility that accepted my insurance. A few months later I received a bill from them because the provider wasn’t covered by my insurance. After confirming this with my provider and the urgent care clinic I went back to Zoc Doc to check if I had missed any detail noting they weren’t covered by my insurance. After double checking the clinic and the insurance information it turns out that Zoc Doc was inaccurate and this wasn’t an error that I could attribute to my own carelessness. Fortunately the bill I had to pay was under 300 but I was terrified by the prospect of being directed to an office or ER that didn’t accept my insurance if I used the app again in the future and deleted it.

ZocDoc makes health care easy. I absolutely love this app. You have to have it. I got my psychiatrist and therapist from here and I had certain requirements for my docs because of past bad experiences with providers. You get a gang of doctors to choose from and availability on your schedule. My insurance company offered me a nurse manager that would help me schedule my appointments and communicate with my doctors. I told them no way I have ZocDoc and I can do all of that easily thru their app. Why would I involve a 3rd party when I can do it myself and get exactly the kind of doctor I want and the times I want. Truly great app.

Fantastic Doctor with Great Energy. If you want a doctor that you feel you can connect with, in terms of your G&I health , I strongly recommend her. She made me feel comfortable. She answered every question. She understands medical insurance timelines, and goes above and beyond to make sure that she gives you the attention for the services you need. It’s my first experience with a doctor in Long Island and I must say that I asked her to give me recommendations to anyone that’s associated with her because she was that good!

I really love this app!. The easy of use and availability of finding doctors in my network is amazing!! I’m not sure how I’ve lived without this app. It’s SO easy. I can book a video appointment same day, no problem. My only problem and the reason. I took 1 star away is because I often find myself filling out the same information multiple times. Once I book an appointment I have to complete online forms that asks me the same info o already have saved on the app. I don’t get why it doesn’t just transfer over. Other than that I can’t recommend the app enough to everyone I know

Careful. Zocdoc has a notes section in which you can type a note for your appointment. This note is not included in your appointment confirmation from Zocdoc and will not be provided by them if you have any dispute with a doctor regarding this note. A simple issue that can be easily resolved. Response to Developer: Thanks for the quick response. Zocdoc support was clear that only the doctor’s office can view the note. They did not offer to get in touch with the doctor’s office on behalf of the patient. This can be avoided if you include the note in the email confirmation or make it available to the patient on the portal. You can appreciate the “hazards” of allowing only one party access to the notes. If the doctor’s office does not wish to share the content of the notes with the patient, it becomes a long drawn process. I hope you will incorporate this at some point.

This App saved me so much time and stress!. I needed an appointment quickly for a pre-op appointment, spent almost 3 hours calling places and appointments were 3 weeks out! I googled and this app popped up in my search- and it was amazing! Put in what type of Dr. I needed and bam! Results in 2 seconds, was able to book online and do my pre-visit paperwork all in one shot! Saved me so much stress and anxiety of calling and giving my insurance information before I could even be told when appointments would be available! This is a must keep app!! Love it!

Really Helps Connect You with Quality Care. Zocdoc helped connect with me some of the best in-service doctors I’ve ever had. No matter how many times I’ve changed my provider they’ve never failed to give me several in depth choices to choose from, for the care I needed. Even helps my family and I, now. We all find our greatest doctors and even use the app over online portals for current doctors. Thanks a lot! I look forward to seeing this improve to the health of all, little by little.

Convenient, but not always correct. As someone with social phobia, I prefer to limit my interactions with others and believed this app would help. However, twice now I have been told a provider is in network and then been charged for an out of network visit upon arrival to the clinic. Rescheduling scarcely works on the app and being a student and employed, I don’t have the time to double check everything this app does, which is what I’ve been having to do. Apps like this only work when you’re not having to double check every action preformed by it. It’s a great concept but needs better execution.

Amazing Life Amenity. I’ve used Zocdoc to find my primary care physician, as well as shop around for new physicians if I don’t like my current care. The one thing that I find difficult about the app is inputting insurance info, which is a huge part of the doctor finding process. I’ve inputted my insurance incorrectly in the past because of the limited drop down selections Zocdoc provides, and as a result I was unknowingly booking appointments with doctors out of my network. That all said, once you can figure out to get your exact insurance plan inputted, this app will make the pain of finding consistent care disappear.

Makes life easier and healthier. I rarely write reviews but I think ZocDoc is great. I have a few ongoing health problems but it’s hard to stay on top of with work and life. I recently moved to a new city and needed all new doctors. ZocDoc made it easy and provided reminders to, for example, get a skin screening and a dentist appointment. This is really nice because I often forget about doing those regular needed check ups because I am dealing with chronic stuff that feels more important. Thank you Zocdoc

Pointless. I used this app for the first time, at first it seemed helpful. Being able to book through my phone and not having to call, and even picking a date and time after hours. But once I got to my appointment they said they didn’t receive any of my online check in so I had to refill all of my information out AGAIN which of course made it longer. What is the point of checking in online if the office says they don’t have anything?! I even received a phone call to verify my insurance info and the office said they didn’t have anything, so who did I give my info to?! Better off calling and booking myself.

Not reliable. I didnt think id have a bad review after reading all the good ones. But i tried it out and for me it just says pending confirmation for several days after booking a doctor. I have extreme phone anxiety so calling in the office to double check if my online booking worked is counterintuitive. If i wanted to call, id have done so in the first place. This app made me think i can book myself a doc without the anxiety for once which is largely the reason why i never go to ser a doc. Yes im weird, but im working on it in therapy. Anyways, since it never was confirmed i never got to see my doc and ended up cancelling. I’ll probably just go to an emergency room instead. I needed a quick turnaround and it seems this is better suited for apts booked out in advance or requires you to call and confirm. Not for me.

Their system offered telehealth, but provider didn’t. I was happy with how easy it was to schedule a telehealth appointment, as a new patient, on the app. Until, the next day, I got a call from that provider’s office, telling me in a voice mail that they don’t do telehealth and they’ve tried to update ZocDoc numerous times accordingly. Frustrating. THEN, the next day, I get a second voice mail from the doctor’s office stating they “assume” I’ll keep my appointment in person and asking for my insurance. 🤨 Sounds like bait and switch. As I don’t live anywhere near their medical office, I cancelled in the app. Here’s hoping the doctor’s office gets the hint.

App. So this app is relatively easy to navigate. I found my psychiatrist and was able to be seen. The video appointments really help stop the hassle of waiting in the office. I love that you can use one word and this app gets you a list. I also really love the questionnaire to help select the right doctors for specific needs. I’ve shared this app with my friends, my coworkers, and my family. Just love this, really helps give you an idea of who the doctor is as well. Can’t say enough good things!!

Complicated, annoying and unnecessary.. I gave Zocdoc a high rating at first, but I’ve learned a lot since then. In short, it’s a huge pain, is not convenient. It is not your doctor’s office. It is independent software. It very aggressively tries to take over every aspect of your medical communications, past, present and future, in one fell swoop — all appointments, requirements, tests, conditions, providers; all pre-op, post-op, primary care, specialists, eyes, ears. It does not give direct access, no phone numbers. It sends you an onslaught of prompts, notifications, reminders, requests, many of which it generates rather than your doctor. For most, you'll be better off just calling your his/her office and calendaring what you and they really want and need. Save yourself the extra hassle.

No way to search “in-network only”. After a half hour of searching, this app has yet to suggest even ONE in-network PCP. (I don’t have some off-brand insurance, i have Blue Shield.) The reason I am wasting even MORE of my time to write this review is because the design of the app requires that I click through every doctor to find out if they’re out of network, an issue that could EASILY be addressed by allowing results to be filtered by in or out of network providers. Bad UI, although I suspect the omission is intentional: if I filtered by in-network only, I’d apparently have zero results, and that would make them appear useless. Thing is, if I knew they were useless right away, i wouldn’t now be so annoyed that they wasted my time, and I wouldn’t be taking the time to leave a bad review. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Great Idea but did not help. Tried to locate a chiropractor. The spp provided fmily foctors or internist within my network. All the chiropractors provided were out of network. Then I tried to locate a imaging group to arrange a mammogram and got ob gyns. I already have a primary care physician. It did not provide caregivers that my insurance would accept and pay for. Search needs better filters. Why not incl Medicare as a option? Or Medicaide for low income patients? Are they Accepting new patients? Why suggest only primary care physicians that are covered in the network not give any specialists or additional provider types that would be covered as options for the customer?? You get specific on insurance plans but not on providers.

Glad to have this service.. While I did not end up needing my appt. I was very thankful I could get in so quickly. The zoc Doc app was not working quite right. It would not allow me to take a photo of my insurance card within the app. It kicked me completely out of the app causing me to have to renter all my data 3x before I tried something different. Someone should take a look at that function. Otherwise, very happy to be able to make an appt last night.

It saves me. This app saves me. I don’t look for appointments anywhere else now. So far I’ve been having good experiences with doctor I found in this app. They should allow you to modify your appointment. Because lot of times what the app shows it’s not what the doctor really has available so office calls you and change date or time but you keep receiving notifications for wrong days that can get you desperate if you forget you changed. And also once I had to cancel one doctor but then ended up going at another time but my appointment was showed canceled and I couldn’t review the doctor.

App is great, but hard to find quality doctors.. When I first downloaded ZocDoc, which was at least 3-4 years ago, I was a huge fan. I could just look up a speciality on my phone, find a doctor in my network, and make an appointment with minutes. My problem is that the doctors that advertise/sign up for ZocDoc, at least in my area (metro Atlanta, are not necessarily quality doctors anymore. There are a lot of solo practitioners for certain situations specialties and urgent care doctors with less than desirable credentials. ZocDoc used to have better quality, but now I feel like I’m taking a risk every time I use ZocDoc. Again, the app is great and works as intended, but it doesn’t attract the best or even the above-average.

Easy scheduling!. This app is helping me to make multiple appointments with different specialists for check ups that I have procrastinated about doing for years! Thanks for providing patient reviews and for verifying that they are in my insurance network. Also, I would have quit with the first appointment I made, but Zocdoc then suggested I make my dental appointment, so I did. Next I made an eye doctor appointment and then a skin cancer screening. Woo hoo! I’m going to be done in no time. No waiting on hold to check availability, I did it all through the app. I love it and I’m going to tell everyone I know! 😁Lynn

Constant Errors. Every time I try to search I get a message that Zoc Doc had a connection error. It’s quite annoying and has been happening a lot lately. I can search better using the site than the app. I also don’t like how you can view what doctors are available for the month. You have to go based on the day which is time consuming especially when searching for a new doctor. The app also doesn’t seem to work for other cities. I tried searching for doctors in my hometown and told none were available. I could understand if it was a town of less than 10k people, but it’s a city with over 8 hospitals.

Unreliable. I used the zocdoc app when it was first introduced and found that the appointments available on the app and what was actually available at the Dr office, were completely different. Frustrated, I deleted the app. Years later, I try it again, only to find the same problem still exists. The appointments being posted on the app are nowhere close to what’s actually available. After my first appointment being cancelled, and my alerting zocdoc to the situation, I received a reply that this was extremely unusual. I booked again, with a different doctor, and it looked to be successful! In less than 12hrs, with no reason given, the appointment was cancelled by the Dr. This “service” is 100% unreliable...two appointments made, two appointments cancelled.

Great map feature, not great for finding in-network. Literally the only reason I open Zocdoc is to open the map view and try and get a feel for my options regarding local physicians. If I try to find providers through my insurance website, I’d have to manually look up each address. Unfortunately not all of physicians shown are actually in-network. Even if the app has them marked as such. I’ve had to cancel appointments on three separate occasions because the office called to let me know that that provider doesn’t actually accept my insurance plan My general review for this app is: when it works, it works! And I'm very happy it does. But when it doesn’t work, it DOES NOT work.

Wasted my time and delayed the process of getting the care I needed. ZocDoc did not show me the majority of obgyns in my area. When I tried scheduling an appointment with one of the doctors the app did show me, the office never received information about my appointment I scheduled through ZocDoc. I eventually had take time away from work to schedule with the office over the phone causing my appointment to be delayed by several weeks. After communicating with my insurance, I was able to find more than 10x the amount of in-network obgyns in my area and could actually find one at a convenient location with more availability. This app wasted my time, caused unneeded anxiety and delayed the process of me getting the care I need. I will never use again and tell everyone I know not to use it.

HUGE help. i’m a 22 yo woman and i have a very hard time getting to see drs in person here in stl, even calling to set up appointments, especially after wrecking my car. this app has made it SO easy to find doctors and do video calls and set up appointments. if you’re a young adult with mental health problems and have absolutely no motivation, all this app takes is the press of 3 buttons to book your appointment after you make your account AND gives you lists of drs in and out of network for you

Cant find what you’re looking for. I’ve had Zocdoc since it first came out, and have had success with finding the right provider for me. However, it seems that now, what you are searching for doesn’t come up. Meaning, If you’re searching for a doctor who specializes in one area, you’ll mostly see doctors specializing in a completely different area that is outside of your search. I thought the whole point was to find the right doctor for your specific needs. It’s pretty frustrating, considering how difficult it is to find doctors already in network of your insurance. Not sure what happened between when I first began using the app, and now, but can you please fix this?

So convenient!. I really love using Zocdoc, I’ve used it for several years now, and it makes the doctor appointment scheduling so much easier. I only remember to book my appointments at 11:30 at night or on Sundays… basically only when doctors offices are closed, and this app makes it easy to do it from your phone anywhere anytime. AND its search using your insurance and location is awesome, Aetna’s and others doc searches are never as good and include so much extra noise to sort through.

Pleasantly surprised. I just downloaded this app Saturday (nov. 9) after it was recommended to me by my sister. I did not think it would make a difference and did not expect to even use it for appointments. If I’m being honest, I downloaded it just to appease my sister. BUT here I am with four doctors appointment set up, doctor appointments I’ve been postponing since September. This app is easy to use, accurate and syncs up with my calendar perfectly. I’m glad I downloaded it. It’s surprisingly effective. Best part is I get to fill out the paper work through the app instead of in the doctor’s office. Highly recommend.

A dream come true. Making medical appointments the old fashioned way was a nightmare. I had doctors that made me call their mom or other during very specific hours of the day. Who has time to “book an appointment to book an appointment”. ZocDoc is a dream come true. It makes it easy to find a last minute appointment 24/7. No need to wait for an office to open. It also tells you if the doctor takes your insurance. I found a new favorite doctor by using zoc doc. Also the app automatically adds the appointment to your calendar so you don’t waste time tapping things in. I highly recommend this app.

Very good, could improve. I have used this app for various doctor appointments. Very pleased with the ability to quickly schedule something. Only a few issues, sometimes there’s no provider near me and I get that there is no way for Zocdoc to fix that, but wish the results in a search were listed by distance and not other factors. Also, a couple times the appointment scheduled through Zocdoc did not automatically go onto doctors calendar so they called me to reschedule. That was not so bad because I still got an appointment, same result just different date and time. Overall pleasant experience with this app.

Love it, simple, full of excellent recommendations. I will not need to ask anyone anymore for a recommended doctor, I just to go on the app and find the best and closest and the time I need using this App. Above all, I read all the reviews of the Doctor that were done by people like us and decide to go or find another one. Thank you and highly recommended to use Also, very secure and most most most important thing: you don’t need to fill the million pages of bla bla bla at the dr office, you do this online in the app and you will only sign the printed form once you get into your appointment

Doctors on the app that aren’t contracted. Zocodoc has doctors on their app that don’t use their services. You make an appointment and everything through zocdoc, but the doctor never gets that information because they themselves don’t use zocdoc. How can you tell a person their appointment is confirmed, but never actually confirm with the doctor’s office? Zocdoc takes insurance information and everything as if the appointment is actually set, but that information never gets relayed to the doctor who no longer uses their services. The doctor said they cancelled their contract with zocdoc but the company will not remove their information or talk to them because they are no longer using their services. You’re hurting patients more than anyone by not removing the doctor’s information.

Never accurate information. I have used this app to try and find doctors in my network and book an appointment right through the app, which is what this app was made for and should excel at, but it does not. Four out of five appointments I've tried to make recently have been cancelled by the doctor's office calling me directly and stating that the time slot I booked is not and was never available for booking. I don't know whether it is the fault of the app or user error on the side of the doctors' offices, but it has been very inconvenient for me to constantly change my schedule around, and unhealthy to be waiting so long to see a doctor for a medical issue due to the wild inconsistency on this app. Do not recommend, and will not personally use going forward.

ZocDoc is probably the only aspect of the healthcare industry that has a good user experience. I heard about this app on NPR. When I learned of it, I was surprised that it hadn’t struck me just how irritating the experience is to schedule a doctors appointment, especially if you are new to an area and are looking for a new primary care physician. The app is easy to use, and allowed me to book appointments far sooner than if I had to call a bunch of doctors offices and ask for their availability. Absolutely no complaints with this app, and the feature that lets you input your insurance provider to only show in-network doctors is absolutely fantastic.

Not up to date, several mistakes. Look i’ve tried Zocdoc several and several times before writing this review. More than once, my appointment had been cancelled due to my insurance not being accepted even though on Zocdoc i would specifically search for places that accept my insurance. Not only did this happen several times but, the doctors office’s would also call me to say the time i picked is not available and that the zocdoc availability did not match up to their actual open appointments. On top of these little issues that i was going through, i am now “suspended” due to a doctors office marking i did not show WHEN THEY CALLED ME SAYING MY INSURANCE WAS NOT ACCEPTED THEREFORE I CANCELLED AND DID NOT GO. Honestly i would recommend just calling your insurance first to verify that that specific practice is accepted

Terrible when you are booking virtual. I had the worst experience with this app. It booked a virtual appointment and requested for all my details including my insurance card. Zocdoc did not inform me that to have my virtual appointment I had to download another app to see the doctor from Mount Sinai, and they did not forward my insurance details to the hospital all of which caused me to a) miss my appointment b) get charged $150 by the hospital because they did not have my details, luckily the hospital accepted to return me the money. Why would Zocdoc ask me to share my details if they are not giving them to the right parties involved?! Sounds like they are using my details for their CRM system to sell my private information to other companies?! I don’t think I will use them again.

Three strikes and I want out!. Downloaded today and already want to delete the app but it is holding me hostage. 1. Searched for a primary care doc and it hooked me up with an O.B. But didn’t find that out until after I was on hold for ages. 2. Would not save photo of medical card. After finally getting front and back there is no save button, only the back arrow. More time wasted. 3. Logged back into app to make sure I was opted out of the sharing of my info to third parties. Surely with a medical app that should be the default but it isn’t. When I checked the box and submit button it said there was an error and to try again later. Excuse me?! 4. Now I am fully over it and want out. There is an option to delete your account completely. Not delete the app but delete the info you have submitted to this app. I select that. It asks you to type the word DELETE into a box and submit. Does it work? See #3. Of course not. Red script comes up saying Something went wrong and to try again later. I just want to part ways with this app as we are clearly not a fit for each other but can’t until they resolve #3 and #4.

Difficult to get an appointment that sticks.. As easy as it is to use this app is not very reliable in scheduling appointments. It shows the appointment is available but when I call to confirm because I don’t always trust 3rd party scheduling Apps. It’s always something different as to why they have to cancel my appointment. This last time it was because the doctor only sees 2 new patients a day and is scheduled out till June. That’s on the doctors office I know but Zocdoc should have more information on their app explaining such scenarios like this but instead they don’t they just show appointments that MIGHT be available.

God Sent. I just want to thank the creators and developers of this amazing app. I’ve struggled for so many years trying to make appointments to the point where I just stopped making appointments and hoped for the best. I love that you can see the pictures of the providers because that’s so important to me and more than half the battle when trying to coordinate your own care. I also like that I can make the appointment without having to call and hope the receptionist isn’t on break. It’s been an amazing experience Thank you !

Why Even Upload Your Insurance Card???. App is user friendly enough, but NEVER ONCE has it given me a doctor in my network. If you have great private insurance you might be fine, but if you have Medicaid like me expect to get a “sorry we’re not in network” after you show up at the appointment. Even when I select “Medicaid” I had to get to the doc before they told me they were out of network. Some of the docs are even nice enough to call ahead of the appointment and let you know. What is the point of uploading my insurance card if you’re not going to give me docs in my network??? I’ve tried to use this app for a year or two for various health issues, and have never successfully booked a doctor in network, and had to pay out of pocket for the visit once or twice.

Easiest way to book appointments ever!. If you have anxiety when it comes to making phone calls like me, this app is PERFECT! It’s super easy to use, just type in what kind of doctor you are looking for , where, why you need the appointment, when and upload your insurance and it’ll find in network providers , show times and their location. It was such a smooth and easy process, they confirmed and reminded me over text and email! . I went to my first booked appointment on the 5th and have 2 more booked ! This app is great!

Love this App. For someone who moves around a lot, the task of finding a good doctor who accepts new patients can be a little stressful. It was a blessing when I discovered this app on my recent move. It took me less than 10 minutes to upload my information. Located a highly rated doctor specializing in the medical field that I needed and completed new patient paperwork and booked an appointment for the same day took another 10 minutes. Virtually 20 minutes is all it took comparing to that used to take me days to accomplish. Thank you so much!
