Used to be great - needs attention now :-(. This app is one of my favourites however since late 2020 and still now 16 January 2021 it has major lagging and stability issues despite all software versions being up to date. It has become very frustrating to use. The door is being left wide open for competitors to improve their offerings (unlikely though) and swipe market share. I have noticed others have had the same recent experience to me. Please address the issues Carsales, the update released a couple of weeks ago has made no progress to fix the issues.

Need some improvements. I believe this is the best place to sale your car, however the app needs many improvements. 1. Bring back distance from me feature 2. Enable alert for message received. I was after a good car but neither the app nor site notified me of reply from seller. When checking the profile option, it clearly indicates for new notification but that doesn’t include status about new message received. 3. The written description of car from owner appears at the bottom in the app, it should either come on top or as a tab

Great and easy to use!. Carsales is great and easy to use! Not much more can be said. It's nice to just sit or lay down and browser through all the cars on the site. It works great for me with no issues. Fun to to see what kind of cars are available and to see what car would suit as a first car. Have used it to buy my first and second car which I am forever grateful for! Very very good app. I recommend to any who is looking to sell or buy a car. Great for anyone wanting to buy a new or first car.

Mr Gabi Yammouni. After trying to view all the other car apps car sales is by far the best and informative site to the car industry . From sales to reviews car sales has made buying a car so easy . The app itself is straight forward and easy to use. You can find practically any vehicle and view all the details and reviews at a touch of a button. Not a fan of the new layout!. Carsales is the only app to use when looking to buy or sell a car! I use the app 3 to 4 times a week! But the new layout and moving the saved searches away from the normal search is a mistake. Makes the process of searching cumbersome! Also moving the notification to under settings, that is not the right place. If you must, perhaps just add an icon at the bottom? Overall I like the ***sales apps, I use all of them, but just not a fan of the new layout!

Performance. Love the Carsales app, have sold 4 vehicles on it and purchased my last 3 from it. Am in the market for a sporty SUV and I found with all of the engine sizes, turbo, supercharged, twin turbo, power to weight ratio data it a bit time consuming to find a few options to look at. Simply looking for a V8 or high kw option does not necessarily give you the best options, I thought I had narrowed down my options over the past few weeks but recently stumbled across the BMW X4 Diesel option which ticks a lot of the boxes we are looking for. I thought a handy search criteria would be 0-100 times so you can simply select an upper time to highlight some of the sportier models. Most of the vehicles have this data in the add anyway so it’s already there so shouldn’t be too difficult to add. Fuel usage may be another option some (not me) would consider something to narrow down their selection by, again the X4 in the Diesel option is also quite frugal while still offering Low 5 second 0-100 times so may not be on everyone’s radar when it comes to vehicle choice.

Selling 2nd hand on Carsales. A super easy website to use. It is worth paying the extra money and go with the mid level advert. It lets you select the precise vehicle type that you want to sell and your ad will be automatically loaded with the cars spec, including ancap rating, engine size, interior features and even the proper name of the car colour as per the manufacturer. But please expect quite a few ridiculous offers (like one 5th of the selling price) from individuals who work for dealerships. They are just trying to bait people, they are like vultures but not much can be done to avoid this.

App notifications should put new vehicles at top of list. Currently when a new vehicle is added to the list and I press the notification it just opens the search results list but I have to scroll through and figure out which vehicles I’ve not seen before. The email notification shows an image and link to the new vehicles which is a better user experience.

I love the Carsales app!. Think back to the old days when you wanted a 2nd hand car. You either grabbed an Exchange and Mart and spent hours pouring through drab classified ads or you toured car yards in the vain hope someone hadn’t rewound the speedo on the old banger. Well now we’ve got the Carsales app and I’m over the moon. It’s brilliant. Shows me everything I want to know. And that’s EVERYTHING!!!! With more information at the touch of a link. And pictures that are almost like being in it. I love it and ZIve been playing with it for a few weeks now whilst my bank balance increases enough for me to pay cash. No more old bangers. No more crooks to deal with. And I’m actually having fun.

Heartbroken. We purchased a BMW X5 and didn’t even get it home before transmission failed. The owner was sneaky and used a false address. And wouldn’t let us test drive it more than around the block supposedly cause needed fuel. Not do once we got it on the freeway. They have used putty under cloth to cover up worn leather and my god what a sticky mess. Never buy a car not from a dealer again. Had to get a car trailer to get it home. Now I’m thousands and thousands of dollars out of pocket and still without a vehicle.

Don’t know what’s wrong. Have been trying to access Carsales on both desktop and app for a few days now and it’s just not loading as fast as it used to. Pages aren’t loading, page errors keep popping up. I’ve tried going out in public several times to access it using phone data and not home wifi and still not able to have full browsing access. It’ll work for a good minute and then collapse the next. I’ve tried on my partners phone and laptop and same thing happens. Not sure what’s going on but please fix. I’d rather buy a car through Car Sales than Gumtree.

Great potential, needs bug fixes. Overall I enjoy this app. It’s fun to browse what cars are on the market using the filter and sort settings. I think the Saved Cars feature is very useful, however, it would be more convenient if cars that were sold were automatically removed from the Saved Cars list, or if there was a function to delete all sold saved cars at once. The biggest issue with the Saved Cars feature is the bugs. Sometimes when I’m trying to delete saved cars, I get a message saying unable to delete saved item. And then the cars I deleted returns!

Not a fan of the update!. I don't like the new format whereby in portrait mode the photos are now across the top of the ad. Previously, having them down the side allowed the reader to view the pictures while reading the description (particularly useful when verifying visual details vs the description). Search or filtering also has become significantly slower with the update, sometimes causing the app to show the 3x 'thinking' dots for 5-10 seconds. As an improvement opportunity, please, please, please enable users to sort their 'saved searches' (eg prioritise the list, top to bottom) . Even better would be if users could have saved search 'folders' (eg Sports, wagons, sedans etc). Nice to have, would be the ability to search by Series (eg e30, e36, e46) without first having to select the Model (eg 3 series). Otherwise, a great app! Keep up the good work.

Plagued by recent bugs. This app was once the best on the market but a recent list of bugs have made this app extremely frustrating to use. The constant pop up of a Genesis video advertisement makes it difficult to look up any car. I have also noticed app alerts on saved searches and cars no longer work. Please address as soon as possible.

2008 mit lancer. My car was sold very quickly from here. I was very impressed. App is a little challenging to navigate. I didn’t like that I could only put a certain price on my vehicle eg I couldn’t put over $5000 on the car. I wanted $5000- however people always expect to get less than the asking price - it makes it more challenging to get a fair price for your vehicle. In addition, it can waste a little time when a buyer comes to inspect the car and won’t buy it because the seller won’t budge on the price. Anywho, I sold my car for $4700- so I’m happy. Thank you

Convenience. Carsales is the most convenient buy and sell car app that I know. Whenever you need to buy or sell a car, it a few simple clicks or taps and your where you want to be. Plus, it is the most used car buying and selling app. And that means, more cars. You can search up any make or model of car, and there it is. Great end to end process. It is a super helpful app/process in the way it helps you list all the features and info for your model. Great to compare and set a fair price and very useful for managing communication for viewings etc. I loved how it shows viewing stats so you can see the level of interest prior to negotiations. I was honestly very surprised by how achievable this made selling a car given I am so busy with life at the moment. Great work Carsales

Idea. I really enjoy Carsales, though, I have never bought a car from it, but that is beside my idea. You developers could make another app (if such tech exists) that allows you to scan any car, and it will tell you what make, model and series it is. Because I know a fair few people who have no idea what car they parked next to, or what the nice car across the street is. Please consider this, or at least whatever you do with it.

Good App. As someone who knows absolutely nothing about cars it took me a while to navigate but is so wonderful once you learn and has so many great features and a wide range. Used this app with a gov website to test how safe first cars are and am very happy with the search results. Filter system and search engine feature on the app makes looking for car types quick, easy and efficient. Good overall view of the car without having to contact seller. Would recommend

2007 tdci. Had ours since new, it has been relatively reliable and very economical. Fun to drive courtesy of the little diesel and 6 speed trans, comfy yet firm ride and great brake ability. Interior seemed bland at first, but it's very easy to clean minor spills and hasn't faded or delaminated. It still presents well after ten plus years. Paint has held up well from effects of sun. Torque of the motor is fantastic, stability control and six airbags make for safe driving. Only problems we've had are a piston leak on rear brakes when new (dealer warranty) and minor oil leak from egr system.

Great and simple APP, but needs one important feature. For those looking to sell their car quick and grab some exposure, then this app is great for you. Really simple to use and navigate around and has a wide variety of features that most others apps like gumtree and Facebook marketplace that don’t offer. One small issue or feature that I would really like to see implemented in a future update is on the manage my ad tab, besides the detailed view stat is a saved car statistic, because I am constantly finding my self to have to jump on safari or any other type of browser to see how many people have saved the ad. also a overhaul of the page would be great, possibly a feature to hide other cars that I have sold and only have it show the current active car that’s on sale and also be able to flick through all the pictures and delete any on the spot that I don’t like. Thank you.

Great job Car sales, sold in 1 day!. Advertised my sportage one morning via the suggested sales graph of similar vehicles. 1 hr after it was online I had a caller and they came over that afternoon and liked the car and it was sold to the first looker. I did put some effort in with a great detail. It’s was looking like new again. Thanks Carsales for the way it helped write up the ad for me, very cool! I just tweaked the ad a bit with some personal stuff and whamo it sold..

Doesn’t really do what you need. At first glance the app seems fine but having been using it for a couple of weeks now (and in that time having been unable to buy a car) it really doesn’t do what you need it to. Main issues: - no notifications come through. So if someone does reply to you then you have to remember to go into the app and check all the time. So these get stale really quickly - sellers rarely respond to you (so honestly what is the point!). I imagine due to the same notification issue the other way - however, while you get no notifications at all that will help you, you get constant emails saying “interest increasing in this vehicle, act now”. Well I did. I messaged them and they haven’t responded, so what do you want me to do? - being able to save vehicles is one thing but as important is being able to hide those ones you have looked at and dismissed. Just end up trawling through the same old ads I have found Market Place loads better and more responsive, generally within seconds, presumably as people on Messenger actually get a notification!

Blocked?. I was scrolling down real fast to get to more expensive cars (was sorting price lowest to highest and was trying to get to cars around 30 grand and didn’t know the price sorting existed) and out of nowhere a message came up saying I was blocked for scrolling to fast and clicking too fast. It also said my ip matched a robots, and I’m pretty sure I’m human so I don’t know what that’s all about. I tried reinstalling the app and trying the website and that didn’t work. Any way I can get unblocked? Besides that, it’s a pretty good app.

Mostly Great.. Carsales I can’t really fault you, however the recent update and shifting of saved searches from the search tab irks and annoys me a lot. This seems counter intuitive to be switching between the Search and Saved tabs when you have small modifications to be made or previously saved searches to use. I understand why it may have been done for the simplicity of more basic users however it is rather annoying when you have 45+ specific saved searches. Also years ago you could specify interior colour. This is my number one frustration sitewide. Looking for light coloured interiors forces me to scroll through pictures of numerous cars I have zero interest in (majority have dark interiors) to check the colour myself. Pretty please return this criteria. I see others have also been asking for this. Otherwise the app is generally great and I do appreciate this CS!

All good except one small thing. It works seamlessly! Phone calls messages and emails all arrive at all the right places without mucking up! Managed to sell our car to a good family. One small niggle which caused us to loose some $ is how I purchased a car history without placing in my VIN and it charged me but then told me I need to update VIN. When I did, it asked me for MORE money coz it was an amendment. Should have asked me right from the get go with a disclaimer before taking my money the first time!! All in all, positive experience.

Great but needs updating. When using the app, you can’t see how many people have saved your ad. I want to see saves to gauge how many people are watching the ad - is it 1 person or 10 people? I have to login to the actual site but doing that on the phone automatically opens the app. I have to delete the app, then login on Safari to see how many people have saved it, the download the app again. Knowing how many people have saved the ad is crucial in gauging interest and knowing whether you’re overpriced, need more info etc. Please add the “saved” count onto the app!

New version. This update is absolutely horrible. You lose your last search when you look at your messages or view your saved cars. You can no longer scroll up on your search, then scroll right to left on a vehicle picture to view other pictures quickly. It automatically defaults to feature cars on the right every time you reopen the app, and also loses your last search. The usability on this App is one of the worst I’ve ever seen. No thought what so ever for the user.

Recently ruined. The best layout and search functions of any car selling app, way better then even the ones in America, I have love using it for years. Lately they have added pop up adds, all the same one for a genesis, not only are they super annoying because they pop up at random times, but they mean the app makes my iPhone 8 lag and freeze, phone recovers once I close the app. So I've had to stop using it, I don't mind adds, it is free after all, but these have made it unusable.

It used to be better. I have loved the app for years and would have given it five stars if it had left the previous format. I hate how the photo viewing function has changed. I used to be able to just rotate my phone to view the photos in an ad now I have to scroll back up and click on the photo and click to exit as well. I also don’t like the change to the zoom function when you double tap the photo. It used to go to an ideal magnification but now goes that close its over pixelated and annoying, especially using it with one hand. Would like to see more filtering options in your saved cars, eg price, kms, body type, etc... Child restraint points would be another good filter type in features. A few slight annoyances but still the best app out there.

Ultra user friendly. Carsales has never failed to deliver with every car our family has listed over the past 7 years selling. The tools to assist sellers to assess real market value are very helpful - and as a result our cars have sold quickly with little fuss. We have also purchased replacement cars and have used the valuation tool to assist negotiation with sellers.

Scrolling issues.. Great app, purchased and sold many cars using app on both iPad and iPhone. Also use it to just scroll through to see what’s available every now and then. My only negative about the app on both phone and iPad is that when scrolling through search results when you get to the bottom of the loaded results and it loads the next amount it takes you back up the page so you are rescrolling over adds you have already seen. Only minor, but it gets very annoying.

Fantastic Site. I have sold all our family cars on car sales for probably a decade now. As always, our last vehicle sold quickly. The first couple that test drove bough it. Payment was easy and they love the car. I always use premium because I know for a fact it works! Also I do my homework first and check all other vehicles if same make, vintage and mileage. I then price my car below all others and it has worked fantastically. It only needs to be $500 below others but I then tell the buyer the piece is fixed. Never been a problem. Try it because it really does work!

CarSales App.. I love the app, I have been a member for many many years, I have bought quite a number of cars through the app. I always look even when not ready to buy, it helps me keep up with what's on offer. However the last update does not allow me to Save some cars, it seems really odd. I deleted my saved vehicles search and tried to save but it fails, roughly 10 cars that I can't save. Can you please look at fixing this issue. Thanks Another issue I have is that when you change your email it creates a New Login for you and none of your searches are linked to the new Login. So now you have two logins to deal with. I noticed this in the BikeSales App and I'm thinking it will be the same in the Car App which is why I have updated my Review. Even with these couple of issues, I absolutely love the apps.

Scum that Rip Off People Continually. DO not buy any Toyota GX 4WD without checking if car has been resprayed, car hasn’t been sandblasted for rust then covered in black paint. The car will most likely be Grafite Grey badged with GX badges, advertised with all GX accessories of which it won’t even have blue tooth. Check the registration because he /she will lie when paying the CTP Slip which Insurance then suspend the registration & you’ll be driving a car with no rego or Insurance. Even though he has been advised, he doesn’t care in the slightest. The price they will be asking is about $58,000. This person has zero empathy nor any feeling for anyone. They have done this over 50 times then threaten you. If you’ve been ripped off by this person don’t back down & remember the receipt means nothing if a car is sold fraudulently or anything has deliberately been misleading. They will also write on the receipt “car taken as is as now” & sadly think they can hide behind the receipt. That is not legally the case. Good luck to anyone who has been & is affected by these people I say these because yesterday he had a car up under a females name today under a males name.

Good site overall. But app is wonky. I've bought and sold cars on Carsales and had a good experience on both sides of the transaction. The app is funky though. Often when I message someone, it shows 404 error right away, then only shows the conversation when refreshed. Other times, I tap on one conversation, then it shows a different one. I have to backtrack and select the other conversation, and only then does it show the one I actually want to respond to. In a pinch, the messaging on the website works fine, so it's not the end of the world. But it is annoying as all get-out.

Pleasant selling experience. Much better way of selling your car than Facebook Marketplace, Gumtree or putting it on the side of the road. Texts were constant, but not overwhelming. The service provided by Carsales was outstanding. They called me before the ad was verified to double check my details and were able to fix up any mistakes I had made in the listing. Will use this service again in the future. Had no problems with the app at all. Thank you.

Not a lot of value in this - Expect notifications, but NOT for messages. So as a seller, it cost me around $170 per ad to get my cars up on Carsales with premium ads. And the result has been far from impressive with more or less complete silence, with exception of a bunch of shameful offers through various car buying companies. My cars, which were fairly new, were fairly priced according to the price guide they offer and compared to what else was out there. In fact, they were even on the lower end of the value graph. Paying for a premium ad made absolutely no difference. But the worst part are the notifications. You get zero notifications for messages, but you will get bombarded with notifications about any saved search and or car you have shown interest in. With little progress after three weeks, I decided to put the same cars up on Facebook market place and had multiple enquires within hours. And it didn’t cost me a cent. In hindsight I should have taken the family out for dinner for the $300 odd the ads cost me all up My conclusion from this experience is that as a seller, Carsales is a waste of both time and money. They collect a fee for which you get minimal exposure I used to like Carsales, but they have clearly slipped behind over the years. A reward structure, lower prices and better targeted advertising would add much more value to what is currently a subpar product.

Highly recommend!. I listed my car on other sites such as gumtree and Facebook marketplace as well as Carsales. The offers from the other websites were a waste of time. The people interested in my car who came from seeing the ad on carsales were more serious about buying and weren’t time wasters. It’s a trusted website and allows you to give a really detailed description of your car. Very happy!

New cars showroom. When searching for used cars, the app is intuitive and easy to use. It provides drop down menus that allow for selection by Make and Model. Perfection. God forbid you click on the ‘New Carshowroom’. This is a lesson stupidity. The app will promptly open a webpage with the app (when previously New car searches worked the same as Used). Once the ‘webpage’ is open you will find that you must choose a car by type not make (i.e. Hatch, Saden etc). I hope whom ever made this decision is sacked. This new ‘update’ makes the app unusable for New Car searches. The intuitiveness of the old app has been replaced this usuless excuse for an app. Pathetic.

Excellent service. This has been such an easy way to sell my car, I used the private number option upgrade and it was excellent thank screen calls and messages with. Very happy with all the notifications and the ease of navigation around the app. I will definitely use again with every car I sell from now on and recommend it to anyone thinking of selling or buying a car.

Better than gumtree and eBay. To Anyone who complains about the price of Carsales . Put an ad on gumtree or eBay and see the difference. Within 5 minutes of being on gumtree 5 scammers contacted me . Within 2 days of eBay 25 people contacted me offering at least $3000 under sale price without viewing or asking a question about the vehicle. I think if you want genuine buyers it’s worth the cost. I’ll never go back to those other 2 sites again to sell a vehicle. If you don’t believe me try your luck and you will learn. No one is interested in low ball offers and people trying their luck wasting sellers time.

Love the App. Great App. Only thing I can think of to make it better, is if I could have just suspend the ad temporarily until purchase was 100% confirmed. There has been soooo much interest in it that even before the deposit taken for my car had cleared in the bank I continued to be inundated with calls that I had to pull the plug for the sake of the buyers. I lined up 3 potential buyers after the current purchaser. Using the car sales service wasn’t about not enough buyers, but rather too many!! 🤣😍😎😜😆🤩

So simple, so easy. It was straight forward, simple, easy and a smooth transaction. I posted the advertisement, 30 minutes later had a text from an interested buyer. We met the next day. Then she came back that afternoon and we settled on a price and exchanged cash for the car. Thank you for making it available to me. A dealer had told me I would only get peanuts for my car and I knew my well looked after car was worth a lot more.

Great app, would like group by option. This app is great when looking for cars but it would be useful if you could group cars for sale that are the same make/model so you’re not forever scrolling through cars that are the same make/model. To compliment the addition of a group by option, when enabling this option, it should display the price range for the vehicles in the group. Also, this app will exhaust available memory before crashing after scrolling through many pages of cars, presumably because it doesn’t release the memory used to load previous pages, so it would be good if that could be fixed.

Messaging & notifications could be better. The app is great for many features but I cannot see how to make notifications make a noise alert & you have to click on notifications and the messages otherwise it looks like you still have an unread message. Also notifications have to be manually deleted after reading them. I just don’t understand the need for notifications and messages, why not just have notifications only when there is a notification about the add that is not a message (like a report on sales similar to your car) and leave messages about the car as messages not notifications. Also when you go in to the messages it shows all messages as once & you have to click the arrow to close all of those messages or delete as you go.

Needs improvements via notifications. For some reason I don't get any notifications from the app. I've allowed notifications but not sure if it is actually a feature. Would prefer instant notifications when someone changes the price of a car I have "saved" or a new car is posted under a saved search which "allows alerts" instead I receive a summary email on an inconsistent schedule with cars that I've already looked at online and hadn't even been posted recently. I'm currently looking to buy a new car and find myself having to manually search the app to see if there are new cars as the emails weren't helpful so I turned off alerts. Message notifications would also be helpful, sometimes the messages pop up if the app is on in the background but not a proper notification. An option to report an ad listing that isn't correctly listed as well. I'm looking for a Renault megane 250 Trophee and the number of listings that incorrectly have this as the model is doing my head in so messaged them to let them know they have the wrong model for their ad

Carsales is the number 1 place to sell a quality car in Australia. I use the carsales app multiple times a day for reviews and car news. I’m a car enthusiast so I’m always scanning my favourites and seeing what’s available in the market. At 34 I have owned over 15 cars now so I guess you could say I turn cars over regularly and carsales is my go to place to sell most (not all) cars I’ve owned. The only con really is that it’s getting a bit pricey these days to place an add via carsales but the service is mostly worth it ;)

The only place to shop. I’ve used all other platforms to view cars for sale, this is the one for me. Easy to keep track of your history and alerts when things heap up in regards to cars particularly interest so you don’t miss out. Saying that it’s the one floor, sellers understand ppl are getting updates to what’s going on and list and unlist, or boost the price and lower it so you look at what’s happening. All good if it’s legit but when they play I just turn notifications off. Unfortunately I do miss out on some cars I was interested in.
