Last update makes secret chats not so secret. UPD: the issue has been fixed, thank you! Guys, your latest secret chats change is a miss. It makes using it less convenient AND less secure. Now, when you enter your pin in the search box it’s showing you the list of secret chats, then, to go to a particular chat you need to enter your pin again! What’s even worse, if you close the app with the secret chats screen showing and then reopen it, it still shows your secret chats and your pin is still in the search box clearly visible! Please revert to the way it used to be, it was great. This is not working.

Was Great!!!. It was great .. when it was absolutely free. I was able to stay in contact easily with friends and family overseas. No data fees , no long distance “ low rates” no contract. But I guess nothing good lasts forever. I see though the description still mentions free when in fact this app now is a subscription. Why ? When there are other social media options? People can Facebook video or Zoom with friends and family overseas. That’s still free. So what happened Viber ? At least I was able to remain close to new friends from different countries for awhile. I’m now forced to keep Facebook and use Zoom As well with those that don’t Facebook anymore. ( I wouldn’t anymore either if not for ) Viber did once do what Zoom does. What happened?

Viber algorithms just WOW. So about twice a week you get added to some spammer groups about crypto currency, and after replying back and warning the “forced-to-be” group members about the scams they are about to be subjected to- I get banned!!! Not the scammers, not the spammers that create the group- ME for warning the members not to fall for them… Got to love it! When trying to contact someone and get my account unlocked- I get an automated email from a bot saying that my ban is permanent and nothing could be done- why are the spammers stills allowed??? Oh, because they just create another account using bogus apps to generate new numbers, but real people, who use the platform for conversations with family and church groups are being punished for warning people and messing the scammers plans. *update* Contacted Viber via link provided by DEVs, got the same generic answer: your account is blocked, nothing can be done. Again- if you are a scammer, you are welcome to use Viber. As simple as that. Not sure if Viber gets a cut from the scams or what, but this is just weird. They got to profit from all the scams somehow to cover them up and not block the scammers…

The absolute worst. I have the notifications set to off in both iPhone settings and the app. Yet, incoming calls are still ringing with that annoying Viber ringtone. Nothing shows up on the screen (unless you open the app), just a ringtone. In addition, even blocked numbers are ringing. I have do not disturb mode set up on my iPhone at night. But the ringing still happens. And this makes it particularly annoying during the late night/early morning when I’m trying to sleep. In general, Viber has a lot of little glitches here and there. More than other communication apps. But what makes it really annoying is that they are not focused on fixing their problems fast enough, However, they certainly spent a lot of time making sure the app is constantly I’m trying to get you to turn on the notification. Really??? What is the point of the notification button if you’re just going to constantly pester me after I already turned it off. Instead of constantly trying to get people to turn on notification and use your app more, maybe you should use that energy on fixing the problems in your app. Try making your app better so then people will want to use it more, instead of bombarding them with notices to turn on notification.

WARNING: NO PRIVACY. While Viber is a good alternative communication app, it WILL notify everyone that has your phone # of your status whenever you join or even if download and open it on your new phone. Although this seems like a harmless way they use to advertise and gain interest, it violates certain privacy before allowing user to decide whether or not they want their contacts to be notified and other privacy settings. And no, it doesn’t matter whether you deny its access to your contacts; ANYONE with you phone # will be notified. If you don’t care, then by all means use the app; it’s fine as it is (there are better apps out there). However, keep in mind that there are such minor nuisance features will violates your privacy. For an app that been out for so long, and with numerous complaints about the same issue you would think they’d have came up with a fix…

Excellent service. I have been using viper for many years. My daughter was overseas and we were able to keep in touch daily. All that is required is a Wi-Fi connection. No limit on the amount of free phone calls. She sent us multiple photos which was received as if she was next door. My brother now lives in Columbia. We communicate using Viber. He has a weak Wi-Fi so sometimes the connection is broken up. You cannot beat the free price. Texting and talking work great just stay near your Wi-Fi. I would definitely recommend this service to anyone who likes free phone services. No ads to disrupt your service. Easy to download and start using immediately. Again this is a free phone service.

A very useful, well-designed tele-app. It has remarkably good sound quality. Better than SKYPE. And quite easy to use. It's nice not to use phone minutes up. Does it work internationally? The auto-listing of VIBER users in one's phone book is a great plus. A manual, explaining how it works and how best to use it would be valuable. No app is totally self explanatory. A very good addition to my telephone bank of programs. It would be valuable if when in another program and VIBER rings that you can directly go to answer the call. Right now it appears that multiple swipes or selections are necessary.

Notifications have not worked for a month. I have been a Viber user for many years. Have always preferred over other messaging apps. However for over a month now, notifications are only occasional. Generally have not been getting any, more often than not. Since the most recent update, now there are no notifications. It’s not my phone settings. I can’t continuously open the app to see if there is a message. The entire convenience and pleasure I found using Viber is rapidly eroding. Please address and fix this issue.

Downloading photos. Viber is a descent messaging app. I will start off by saying that. However, one thing that is never solved is the problem with downloading media files. There are literally hundreds and thousands of people asking on the internet how to download media files because now users can only download them either automatically (but not retrospectively) or individually. Here comes a problem. If I happen to have 500 photos to download before turning on the automatic download function, what should I do? Well, it appears that I should click on each one of them and save them individually to the gallery. How is it not an option to select all or some of them and download them the selected media files altogether? That is why you get two stars.

Ringing is activated in the setting still it has no ringing sound most of the times. Sometimes for local calls it is poor. I mean without any reason it will be disconnected and you have to end up the call and give another ring as a solution. Also most of the times you just see the mobile flashes for a moment instead of hearing the call ring. It is only my problem with Viber, but it is common in our area. That is why we have to change into whats up if the other one has this application.

Really good app!. I have been using this app for over two years now and it is excellent for talking with my relatives on the other side of the world. It’s also really nice there is a translator so that my family that doesn’t know English can easily translate my messages. The stickers are so cute and fun to use as well. The only reason I didn’t give it a five star is the video quality. I understand that I’m talking to people on the other side of the world and it might be hard to deliver good quality, but I hate when I’m video chatting with somebody and it just goes all blurry and pixelated or just pitch black, even when their video is on. I would definitely give five stars if it had better quality though!

5+ Years Happy Viber User. I’ve been using Viber for over 5 years. I have tried other apps during that time and some have come and gone, but I still like Viber. One HUGE thing that viber has over WhatsApp is that Viber allows you to make private when you are online using it. You can not hide when you are online in WhatsApp and that is very awkward. For instance when you tell someone you are tired and want to sleep but really want to end the chat to chat someone else. They will know you are still online and not sleeping. And many other scenarios.

Viber is a pretty good app. I only rated 4 out of 5 stars because sometimes the call quality is bad. Some days it’s great and other days. It seems the weather dictates how it works. If it’s really windy out it seems to struggle with a home call. Lol. We joke and say it’s a good viber day or a bad viber day based on the call quality. But the messaging app is awesome and I love how I can text my friends any where in the world free. I have friends in the Uk, Spain and Australia and we can message back and forth like we are on the same city. Pretty awesome and no long distance fees.

Blocked due to.... what?. Any good product manager or engineer should know how to evaluate usage data to determine if a user, especially a low volume user, is using the app for spamming purposes, as well as if the IP address is being used BY the user for spamming purposes, OR, if it could be that they use a VPN or other Adblock tools to protect their privacy, thereby providing false information about user intent. This also creates a question about claims about encryption, especially since Viber comes with tracking, Err, I mean, ads. Is this app as private as they are suggesting? Unsure. The app comes with Proxy settings, but apparently no instructions or support for how to set it up. If they can’t provide a useful app on the consumer side that comes with credible support, I would highly question upgrading for business use. Doesn’t appear to be a mature VOIP option, and so I would recommend against using it for any important kind of activities where people like family and friends need to reach you. A simple workaround would be for their product team to add a feature to ask the user if they are on a VPN, or show them instructions for how to set up with Proxy settings to help alleviate misconstruing user activity.

Limited utility…. I got this app because I wanted the encryption and privacy that iMessage doesn’t provide. I also wanted to be able to keep chats, and be able to access past conversations. The shortcomings of this app are many. It doesn’t want to be secret. You can set it up so notifications don’t appear on your Lock Screen, Notification Center, etc… but it constantly reminds you that it doesn’t like these settings. My biggest complaint is that messages are not searchable. Scrolling through hundreds of text messages to find a reference to something that happened a few weeks ago is inconvenient and takes way too much time when I’m tying to answer a question.

Viber resolves my issue of showing Viber contacts on my ios Share option. iOS - 13 has this feature of share sheet showing recent contacts from iMessage and Airdrop, but looks like Viber shows my most recent Viber chat contact as well in that option which was bothering my privacy. I reported this issue to Viber through their Feedback option in May 2020 and they fixed and resolved the issue for me in June. Thank you for being customer centric. I don’t see that option to share with my Viber chat contacts anymore.

Connection and message pop up problems. The connection of viber seems to have gone worse and plus for some reason the messages sometimes the notification pops up but sometimes when I open viber then I notice the messages pop up only after I open the app and have been giving this problem for months now and have checked every possible reason why the messages won’t pop up can’t find what the problem is I have no blocking or even checked if my notifications r turned on don’t know why sometimes I get the messages and sometimes I don’t until I open viber then I see the messages sent from before. :(

Absolutely No Customer Service…. My grandmother just came to America, she got a phone number that was previously blocked by Viber. Previously she used her Ukrainian phone number to use Viber - it is her only source of communication with most of our family in Ukraine during war. I reached out to Viber multiple times, all you get it automatic message saying “you are blocked, never contact us again”. I sent numerous emails from my own active account, telling them there has been a mistake - they just state that the number is blocked because of spamming and to never contact them again. MY GRANDMA IS 76 YEARS OLD!! WHAT SPAMMING??? She can barely type on the phone… Anyways, stay away from this app… such disappointment! I will try my best to teach her how to use WhatsApp or Telegram now I guess…

Do Not Subscribe! Ceases Viber Out Calls at 10 min & Flags legitimate calls as fraudulent! 🤬. This stupid app keeps cutting my viber out calls at 10 min and I am embarrassed every time to the other party I was talking to and I can not say these people that some stupid developers just built an stupid and junk app named Viber that cuts my direct calls at 10 min duration even though I subscribe for unlimited minutes! Now you can imagine how embarrassed, angry and frustrated I am toward this app! I wrote to them and someone even did not say sorry for the inconveniences I experienced and replied that calls were fraudulent activities! 🤬 Now, they started judging my personal calls and defining my calls to my mom as fraudulent calls! This is just utter madness and beyond one’s patience limits to this stupidity! They behave like they are police, tapping you calls, judging your calls and even forcing your calls to drop! This is how low these people behind this app went down and they think it is just okay!

Much Better!. It’s been a while since I’ve used your app. You made some serious improvements in the meantime! Well done! The one thing I’d like to see you do is make it so audio messages auto play sequentially in a message thread after hitting play on the first one. Voxer did it first, but was unreliable. Recently, WhatsApp started doing it. If you add that you are definitely better than WhatsApp! Your “secret thread” and notifications when someone takes a screen shot and the auto self destruct is excellent! Can people adjust the timer, like Signal? I haven’t finished playing with your app, but it looks like you’ve done a lot of work. Good job, thank you, and keep it up!

I love Viber!. I’ve had Viber on my cell phone for several years now. I was told about it by a friend of mine in Australia and I live in the US. We wanted to talk so bad but, of course, doing that on a landline or even on a cell phone would’ve been far too expensive. But with Viber, we could talk as often and as long as we wanted. What a blessing that has been. My friend passed on earlier this year from a cancer she had fought for four years. But because of Viber, I was able to talk to her through those days and nights when sometimes she couldn’t sleep because of the pain and she knew she could call me at any time even though we were 15 hours apart in time zone and I would pick it up. So I am grateful for Viber calls and also chat because I still have friends overseas that I can chat with anytime! I will always keep Viber on my phone!

Many Pros, a few Cons! .. Excellent app with many good features. You can use the same access on multiple platforms, your phone, tablet, etc. You can edit your post even after posting it. Your telephone number is not easily shared with other group members. Your presence online is more easily "hidden" from others. You can delete your post for everyone even days later. There are few cons as well. Uploading larger files is difficult and laggy (comparing to Whatsapp) and sometimes not possible at all. Forwarding multiple posts to others is difficult. But overall the pros outweigh the cons.

Viber over Skype. I used Skype for a decade to keep in touch with my dad in Ireland. I loved it. It was really good for video calls but regular phone calls cost money and I was constantly uploading funds. Viber is a perfect alternative to Skype... it occasionally drops calls or has choppy reception (just like Skype) but for the most part the connections are very good, the video is excellent, the audio is free... I cannot say enough good about Viber… It certainly is in line with any other competitive video service, and it’s a lot more free! I understand they have a charge to call lan-lines, I’m just happy that gives them enough revenue to sustain the business because it’s a wonderful way to stay in touch with relatives overseas without any cost to the average end user.

7 year user: Viber provides privacy, safety, and reliable service.. In an age where internet privacy is akin to the Wild West, and citizens like you and me are subject to outlaws, bad actors, and crooked sheriffs, Viber protects us. Instead of the pony express though, we got lightning fast messaging, with functions of self-deleting messages on a timer, two factor authentication on multiple devices, as well as encryption of trusted contacts’ messages. In an age where TRUST is a large part of the consumer choice, you can trust that Viber does not leak your message content to any one but you and the recipient. In times of disaster, such as severe storms and flooding in the Philippines, Viber also provided free worldwide calling to ensure that families were able to communicate, even though oceans and floodwaters separated them. My only issue: i am using the magic keyboard with my iPad Pro on this app. There is a difficulty with typing out sentences more than 1 word, since the space bar resets the typing cursor to the beginning of the message. The magic keyboard works well on other document/note taking apps/ iMessage, but Viber may need to throw out a patch to ensure compatibility with the Magic Keyboard. Thank you for all your hard work in rolling out new fun features while keeping our privacy your top priority.

Viber won’t unblock my mother’s account after promising they would. My mother’s account was labeled as spam by the system because she sent a copy-paste message to several of her contacts. After explaining the situation to customer service (had to message them 5 times) they said they would unblock the number within 24 hours. After those 24h passed, my mother still can’t log in to her account and when I asked customer service again they sent the same generic message that the number is blocked because the system flagged it as spam. So one star because of false flagging and horrible customer service.

Troubleshooting after new phone number. If I can give no star I will do that . I just got my new phone number for 5G and after I installed Viber ,I couldn’t sent any messages. So I deleted the app ,reinstalled again and gave me activation failed for no reason. I contact the support in Viber and they told that My number was blocked on Viber because it was reported as a source of spam or as a result of unusual activity. The account has been automatically added to a block list and can not be unblocked. No further information is available at this time. I need to know what I do to block my phone number and I just got it? And only my family and friends are knowing my new phone number. There is no reason to block me. You can fix this issue or you can lose your users.

Please fix the notification issue!. I’ve used the app for about six years now and absolutely love it to keep in touch with family and friends. I’ve very rarely ever had an issue, except for the last few weeks I am not getting my notifications when I have a new message until I open the app and wait a minute or so for any new ones to appear. I’ve checked my settings about 100 times and everything is set as it should be- I see that others have been having this issue for the past month or so and am begging you please please please get it fixed so that we don’t continue to miss messages. I’m not sure how much longer I can go with having to remember to manually check constantly. Everything else works like a dream and love the app otherwise!

Basically disfunctional. I’ve used Viber for over 7-8 years now. Since then it has only gotten worse and worse. Everything is outdated, but the absolute worst fact would have to be that it cannot send pictures. It’s been like that for months and months now, maybe even a year or two. I can send pictures if its 1 or maaaaybe 2 of them. But more? They will never and I mean never ever send. The only reason people use this app is that everybody already has it and it’s basically a “must have” app in my region. You have to have it for school, work, anything, its just not optional. Only because its too hard now for everybody to switch to another app. If you don’t absolutely NEED the app, then I definitely don’t recommend getting it

We love it!. It’s great for international texting and calling. Audio and video are mostly excellent. For group calls it’s great except there is a limit on number of people (20) and for texting you are unable to make some words in BOLD unless you have a font App. Texting is also limited per send. You would Need to create another text if you’re sending something long. I love that you can EDIT what you texted! But you cannot insert pictures in between text messages you’ve already sent. I’m also happy that you clear all texts or clear individually. The one BIG issue I have is that one time I called someone and all of a sudden while we were talking 3 more individuals joined the call without us inviting them! It was AWKWARD! I would have given it a 5 stars if not for that issue!

No notifications I have incoming messages.. I love Viber it’s a great app for communicating with ppl. I have been using Viber now for close to 8 years and up until the last few months I had no issues but for some reason the app has quit giving me notifications of incoming messages. I don’t know I’ve gotten messages until I open it up. Never had this problem before. Most of the time I have to leave it open to receive the messages but I don’t like doing that because someone may think I’m online when I’m actually working. But now it’s not even giving me notifications when the app is open in the background. I really wish y’all would fix this problem. Especially since I’m apparently not the only one having this issue.

Call sound override phone’s settings. Bad call quality. My phone was in mute and even had an earphone plugged in, incoming calls still make big loud sound. I still can’t find anywhere to stop this ridiculous feature. I turned off all notifications or even Viber in-call of the app. Never seen w any other phone apps. Embarrassed many times in meetings. The only way was to turned off wifi?!? Not sure if Apple lets this happen or their engineers are very competent and reckless in letting loud phone call’s sound override phone settings. Quite bad call quality, reason they say is low internet but other apps had better quality. Started to use it bcoz of quality, now gotta change apps. This has changed recently like several months.

App crashes when doing chat history restore. I have been an avid user of the app for 7 years and it’s been great with the stickers and gifs that make messaging interesting. But I’ve had problems receiving and sending messages in the past month. I made sure I am using the latest version of the app and iOS software. So when that did the fix my problem, I opted to delete and reinstall the app since that seemed to fix the issue for some people. However, when I tried to restore my chat history, the app would crash after 1% and revert to my phone’s home screen. When I try opening the app, the restore screen would pop up and again crash after 1%. Granted I have about 28gb of chat history, but I have enough phone and iCloud storage that it shouldn’t be an issue. I reached out to the Viber support team, but after the quick initial response with their “solutions” and me answering “No, tried it, still crashing on me,” I haven’t heard back from them which has now been 5 days. I really hope that they are working on the issue and not just keeping me on a shelf of “to-work-on-later” issues. But until I receive a viable solution to the problem, the app will remain deleted for me since when (and if) the restore eventually chooses to work for me, I don’t want new messages to be erased.

MY ACCOUNT GOT BLOCKED WITHOUT ANY REASON. I had been using viber since it was developed and created, but last year my account got blocked and when I contacted the support center I got answer that saying they can not do anything and my account was blocked because they think it is a spam. I reconnected the support center but got the same answer again so I deleted my account and uninstalled the app and reinstalled it because I was thinking it might solve the problem so when I try to reregister it each time a message pops up saying “ACTIVATION FAILED “ and I am not even able to activate it. It very disappointing to see the viber support team are not able to decide which account or number is spam and which is not. As I said before I had been using viber with my number for a long time with any problem until suddenly got blocked without giving me any reason.

I cannot reinstalled it coz on the complaint information I should not put zeros on the phone information but my phone numbers doesn’t have zeros so I can’t submit my complaint. I need help! Was good, now having problems. I have enjoyed using Viber for years. As of recent though it is not allowing me to hear my messages voice messages nor see pictures or videos. I get this message that pops up that says Viber does not store videos or messages for a certain amount of time. Well, I can’t even hear them even moments after they pop up. My very techy husband has gone into the App trying to fix it. It is very irritating especially during these times of war and wanting to communicate. I had to switch to another app. I am hoping Viber can take care of these issues because I have been very happy with it for years. I just cannot see a reason for this.

Don’t waste your time. I’ve been using this app for so many years and never had an issue. In fact, I always found this app convenient as a frequent traveler. However, in recent months I’ve been having issues with random people adding me to stupid crypto/investment scam groups thereby flooding my phone with spam. One day I had enough and decided to take matters into my own hands by writing repeatedly in the group chat that it’s a scam group. Guess what happened to me? I was blocked off the app for “spam” just because of that. I never asked to be added to these stupid scam groups and I was sick of all the spam I was getting yet when I decided to address the issue I get permanently banned off the platform??? What sense does this make? Instead of punishing me for spamming the spammers, why not punish those who were spamming me to begin with.

Almost perfect. Viber is the almost-perfect Facebook messenger alternative for me. It has e2ee on by default, audio/video chats which can transfer to your other devices seamlessly, stickers, and a simple user interface. Now for the complaints: My calls are draining my phone ridiculously fast. I would drop from 100% to 35% in under an hour on my XR. I also dislike ads and would like an opt-out option (whether paid or free). Finally, my notifications have not been reliable recently. I would not receive message notifications (especially during call) unless I opened the chat in the app. This seems to be a recent issue. I’ll be a happy camper once these issues are resolved.

Not Great. My boyfriend and I (I'm in the States, he's in London) used to use Tango and had nothing but problems. When we switched to Viber almost two months ago, we were so impressed! The call quality is infinitely better, plus we get to text for free! With the new update today, we love the time stamp feature and the photos next to the contacts. I love seeing his handsome face! Great product! I would have gladly paid for it. But am grateful its free! Update: the December 18, 2012 update is terrible. It's jumpy, closes down while typing, they changed the notification ping to something almost indiscernible, its cluttered with nonsense pictures, the talk to text feature doesn't work and it's very slow. While I would have paid for the app before, I wouldn't now. Changing from 5 stars to three. Update: Oct 27, 2022 been using it for over 10 years. Really enjoyed being able to connect with family and friends from All over the world. However, for the past month notifications don’t arrive until you open the app and wait a good minute before they kick in. I don’t always remember to check multiple times a day and older family members in hospital can’t get a hold of me. It’s extremely frustrating that there have been 4 updates to the app in that time and an app developer company can’t fix the problem on iOS. Updating stars from three to one.

Blocked with no one at Viber to help!. I had been using Viber for more than seven years and had originally started to chat with my grandmother who had just started using an iPad. I’ve used it exclusively for chatting with my family. One day, my messages were not going through and I learned that my account is permanently blocked because it was flagged as a source of spam or unusual activity. There are two things that might have caused this that day. The first was that I may have accidentally opened a spam group chat while trying to delete it. I was rushing somewhere and was trying to delete it hastily. The second was that I tried to send a Nextdoor link to my dad but because it wasn’t going through, I tried sending it multiple times in a row. These are honest mistakes and for some reason I’ve been blocked permanently. There is no way of speaking to anyone or asking for help to actually look into my account. If they did, they’d see that I am and innocent and good person. The only thing I can do is send messages via their online form and my replies keep staying that I am blocked permanently and cannot be unblocked. They are offering no help to look into the matter. My whole family is needing to switch to WhatsApp now. This is so silly! I’m sure there is someone at Viber who could help, but the company isn’t set up that way. I’ve just been cast out and now my family has to leave too! I’m sad that after being loyal to this company for so long, I can’t recommend them.

Fix the last update. It is broken!. UPDATE: I’ve been contacted by support, it seemed like they really care to fix the problem. With new update my Viber is working without any problems. I really hope that they will not have any problems like this in the future. So… because support contacted me within 24hours, because they tried and care to resolve problem I changed my review to 5 stars. I’ve been using this app over 6 years. I was even recommending it to all my family and friends. It is awesome, fast, never any problems with audio or video calls until the latest update. Since I updated it to the newest version it went down the hill. App start kicking me out, then it finally stopped doing that but then it start freezing. It froze for few minutes and then crash. I can’t do anything. I can’t back it up, I can’t report a problem, I can’t contact support… Nothing! I even tried removing the app and downloading it again. Even that didn’t help. It is so frustrating! I saw in the comments that I am not the only one with this problem. I really hope you will fix this problem soon.

Excellent app. Started using Viber since it was released. Stickers, audio and video call, high quality photos sending services, Viber notes, translation of languages, dark mode, logging out the devices when registered another devices with same phone number, end to end encryption conversations, integrating Viber phone call with iOS’s built in calling experiences, passcode lock, Face ID and finger print lock to app, use less data and then in recent updates, Viber channels like telegram, Viber group, are best features of Viber. Probably the best messaging app. I’ve been using Viber for around 3 years and my mom was using it for like 8 years and it’s incredible!Its not complicated like some other apps, t’s easy to text, hide contacts, delete contacts, and add. I also love the fact that you can change the noise of the messages. And you can create your own sticker pack, like that’s amazing! From the first look you can see that whoever made this app has put lots of effort into this app 🤯. Also very easy to change you avatar. I’m obsessed with this app 😍. Keep up the good work 👍❤️

Viber not allowing me to install my current number on new iPad. I really love to use Viber and had been using for many years So it is quite frustrating if I am unable to move my number to my new device Opened case many times and got a canned response.. I keep on getting registration failed.. Support always recommend to do many things like selecting option to choose device as primary device but I cannot even get to that because it won’t accept my number.. My request was to unblock account as this appear to be one of possible reasons that registration failed.. Or provide ideas why it is rejecting my existing number because it seem to accept other number( tried just to rule out device issues) Thanks

Country to country calling failed. I have had this app for several years. I only use it when I go out of the US so I can call home. This time while I was out of country, I tried using the app and my calls failed. I purchased the Viber call out plan in hopes that I could call family to let them know I arrived safe. My first video chat, I connected but my husband could not hear me. I tried several more times but the video call always failed. Then I tried audio. Again call failed. I reached out to customer service and they couldn’t find my account where I paid for the service. I finally had to send them a screenshot of my account. I requested a refund but was told because I purchased through the App Store I had to contact apple for a refund. I did download the app from the Apple Store but the call out feature was an in app purchase so Viber should refund my money. I was gone for 8 days and could not use this app at all. I was better off using messenger. Waste of money.

For the update NOT Viber in general - which was 5 stars. Sadly the update has removed 2 very important things I use and i cant see how that is an improvement so I am begging for them to be reinstated. 1. The voice messages used to use 2 different colours to differentiate those that were listened to versus those not listened to yet. Now if you have to stop listening and return later there is no visual way to know the point at which you stopped listening so you can easily continue. Not sire why this was changed but I don’t think it adds anything to the experience. Rather it makes the experience mire frustrating. A word I never attributed to Viber before. 2. If you stopped part of the way while listening to a message you could leave a reply and go back to continue listening from the point at which you stopped. Now if you try to stop before the end and leave a message, when you are ready to resume listening the message starts all over again. Again I can’t see how this makes the experience any better but rather frustrates the user. One of this things I have admired about Viber besides the fact that they can be used to communicate freely without sharing all your information outside of their company, is that they did not have updates constantly and useless updates. I am not sure what this latest update should be enhancing but for those of us that use verbal messaging it is frustrating. Maybe those 2 things can be changed back? Or reversed at the next update please?

No notifications. To whom it concerns: For almost 2 months now my I phone does not give me any message notifications like it used to. No banners on my screen….No ding ding …Nothing… so I don’t know I even have a msg until I open Viber… I have an I pad also….And my I pad gives me all the notifications like normal…. BUT MY I PH DOES NOT I communicate with someone in UKR and we’ve always used Viber because it is superior to all other msg apps UNTIL NOW…. Will someone please SOLVE THIS ISSUE…. It’s a technical problem within Viber NOT MY I PHONE cuz I had my carrier check it out . This is very frustrating and I see other people are having the same issue as I am Including my contact person in UKR….. Thanks MARK WALCKER. The customer service is useless.. (edited) The conclusion is that the customer service will NEVER help you once your phone is banned in some reasons. I don’t recommend to try contacting them - it’s wasting your time. Here is what you will automatically receive the message - Hello, Your number was blocked on Viber because it was reported as a source of spam or as a result of unusual activity. The account has been automatically added to a block list and can not be unblocked. No further information is available at this time. Please do not reply to this e-mail. ——— I was able to use this app with my phone number in Japan, but when I got the new number in the US and try to change it, my number has been banned though it is my first time to use. I’ve send message the customer service 3 times but they NEVER let me use my new phone number. The customer service in Japan says, “If any unusual activity is detected, which is unlikely to occur in normal usage, the account will be automatically restricted from use. Your mobile number is restricted for use due to the above specifications.” This is not fair that my number has been banned even though that is not my fault. I hope the problem can be solved by sending my ID, for example, but Viber never gives me any chance or help. I am disappointing.

Not possible to restore chat on secondary device (iPad). I have been a loyal and frequent user of Viber for at least a decade now. Viber has been my app of choice over all other chat services, including phone text. Viber has been serving me great until recently. The most recent update has deleted my account from my secondary device (iPad). After several unsuccessful attempts to log back in and restore my chat history, I found an article on the Viber support pages which clearly states that it is no longer possible to restore 1-on-1 chats and group chat history on a secondary tablet device. Which is very strange, because chat history actually syncs perfectly on a secondary computer device. Why was this important functionality suddenly removed? What is the point of backing up chat history if I can’t sync with my secondary tablet devices? When I start a chat on the primary device, I am no longer able to pick it up on my secondary device. This makes the app on the secondary device useless, so unfortunately I had to change my previously solid 5-star rating to 3 stars. App developers - please fix this problem, and re-enable seamless chat history sync across all devices, as it works on the competitor apps. Otherwise the Viber app becomes completely pointless on the secondary devices. Thank you.

Please?. I like Viber very much as this is very reliable. But the backup option is very dangerous for Myanmar in current situation. We use Viber for many purposes and delete when things are done. All deleted data can be easily backed up and it is helpful to some people. After the military coup, the military abduct whomever they see and take their phone and look at everything in our phone without our consent. Yes, they are violating our rights. When they take our phone, they backup all data and some people are tortured for things they find. So, pls make backup option unavailable at least for Myanmar. This will save many lives.

Love Viber but lately started having problems. I love how Viber works!!! How you can scroll thru the audio and save videos and forward them. The only problem I started having (I don’t know if it’s just me or if anyone else is having those problems) where the video is playing but there’s no way to save that video :(. It’s the app we use between our family and where we share pictures and videos and usually I would save them right away and unfortunately lately I haven’t been able to do that :(. That is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. Before when I was able to save them it was 5 stars

Now blocked for no reason. I have used Viber for many years, then all I f a sudden they have blocked my account for apparent spam, all I do is use it to chat to family and friends. I can’t even get their customer service to assist doing anything at all to help. Leaving bad review as a last ditch effort to get help.

Unreliable. I have not used this app much and only used it to communicate with the healthcare team looking after a family member overseas. I was surprised when I tried to use it again after a few months that my number was blocked apparently due to spamming. I have no idea how that happened but certainly frustrating. I will never recommend using this app especially for important communications as their system is definitely unreliable! There are definitely better messaging apps than viber

Online Status Not Showing. Dear Viber Admin After updating to iOS 16 public version software also updating app to latest version on my Viber chats the contact name is half hidden, also it does not show online status and when I try to tap on chat name to go to user profile info it is stuck please fix that thanks

Faults advertising don’t buy waste your money!. I signed up for this unlimited calls plan for a month. First my account has been locked few times for no reason I can’t make calls. They said they fixed the problem then happened again and again. I sent email to them now they got back to me two days later said I reached their call limits so I need to buy more credits. If there is a limit why you call this unlimited call plan? Faults advertising can’t trust them.

Not as good as it could be. Viber is a much more ‘clunky’ app than many of the other messenger apps around. I use it only for specific family members. It would b helpful if you could tell who has like your comments or photos in a group message! Update. 2021. Was excited when I saw that Viber was now CarPlay compatible…except that unread messages arent actually being played.

Notifications don’t work. Great app but what’s the point of having a chatting app that doesn’t give you notifications unless you open the app… Hasn’t been working for 2 months now.. 3 updates since and no different… PLEASE GET IT SORTED ASAP

Very helpful customer service. I had problem of sending my messages to my email, I opened a technical ticket for the Support Team, I received the reply email in the same day showing me how to fix the problem. I can do what I expected now, really amazing service. Thank you for all team’s effort.

NOT GETTING MESSAGES!!!. I have been using Viber for years now! It’s what my family & I use to keep in touch. However, the notifications have ceased! I have tried turning my phone off, checked settings in the Viber app & the settings on my phone, checked the network status, made sure I was using the lastest version of Viber, checked for any software updates for my phone etc, EVERYTHING & everything is as it should be EXCEPT I am NOT getting notifications! I will only get a message come through when I open the app & select a conversation. EXTREMELY annoying!!! FIX IT PLEASE!!! NOTE: I only selected one star as no stars were an option!

Developers aren’t honest. I recharged with $ to make international calls. After recharging I was meant to receive $.99 cents for calls. I was given $.97 insted. I then made a call to Australia for 17 min @ 2.3c minute. Again they pinched a few extra cents Not an honest app and won’t br using it anymore

Opens messages as a reply instead of open. Why when you open a message it auto brings up the keyboard cutting out half the screen? I constantly have to pull this away because if someone sent me a message or video, I want to be able to see it without half the screen gone and THEN decide if I want to respond or not. On that note, I have auto download setup but it will NOT auto download anything unless I press the download button. This needs fixing. And enough with the notification little red (1) and it’s only to “add my email”. I don’t WANT to add my email, I never will so stop asking there is literally zero purpose for this

Manie. This App works very well and clearly and allows me to communicate with my friends and family here and overseas with no problems whatsoever, and I feel secure that my communication with them whether talking with them or sending them a message is secure. Excellent App.

Love it, just 2 things…. -Please update the app so that it is fully compatible with IOS 16. I have noticed the individual chat settings are not responding since I updated. -PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get rid of the ‘heart’ button next to each individual text, it really crowds the screen and I find it visually annoying as personally I don’t really use the feature.

No longer receiving notifications. Ever since the ios16 update I no longer receive Viber notifications unless I open the app. I’ve updated to the latest viber update and restarted my phone multiple times yet I’m still not receiving the notifications. Doesn’t notify you of messages even after update. ** After updating to the latest Viber 18.6.0 and the latest iOS 16.0.3 ... Viber is STILL BROKEN. it won't notify you of messages unless you open the actual app still. I'm on an iPhone 14 Pro Max. ** This app doesn’t notify you of messages. You have to go in the app to get your messages. I’ve turned on notifications and background app refresh. Do not disturb and low power mode are turned off. This issue has occurred since iOS 16. Account blocked for no reason. App works well until you get banned for no reason and you cannot contact anyone at Viber - I have sent countless messages and get an automated message back, cannot escalate cannot speak to a human, no service what so ever - I recommend that if your looking for a messenger app use WhatsApp or Facebook avoid Viber at all costs - you will not get banned for no reason and if you have issues you'll be able to contact someone who will help you

Notifications for ad messages? Sick of it. One star because of the editing after posting feature not on WhatsApp. A useful feature. One star for being a free messaging app. But I feel utterly spammed every time I see a notification on my phone that Viber has a message and there’s nothing there from my contacts, just some massive group Viber put me in to sell stuff. On principal I’ll never buy anything advertised that way. If my family didn’t use it for group communication I’d abandon Viber.

After weeks of wait ViberOut finally seems working. Well, purchased ViberOut to call non Viber installed phones as advertised but unable to do that and immediately informed the Viber customer support for no avail. A call I made overseas for a relative was working on other phone calling platforms but not with ViberOut. As days passed by without any response from support , I was tried other numbers and intermittently working onetime and not working the other time. Still the relative I would like to call wasn’t working at all . Finally, received from support ‘ issue now resolved’ message after weeks of my subscription. By the time, I have already used other phone calling platform to reach a relative. Anyway the point , RESPONSE is so slow to fix the issue in day or two at max but waited weeks is NOT GOOD ENOUGH . Hope Viber would improve their services on response time quickly as possible before losing the customers.

Frustrating. Constantly crashes and can't open app. Msg alerts often don't come through unless I manually open the app. Even when all setting are correct. It seems to magically fix itself then randomly does it again and it's an annoying circle! Love the speed and reliability of photos and videos being sent when sometimes text msg doesn't work. Other then that it's way too frustrating then it's worth. So much needs fixing.

Lost notification alert of a message received. Did an update and now I don’t get any notification when someone has sent me a message unless app is open. This happens mainly when not connected to wifi

Blocked me for no reason. I opened viber recently as I have moved to another country and wanted to talk with relatives, especially my elderly grandparents who live somewhere else. They are not phone savvy so the only calling app they use is viber. For some reason, viber blocked my number and is sending the same automatic responses whenever I submit requests asking them to remove the block. I didnt engage in spam nor did i do anything suspicious. All i wanted to do was to talk with overseas loved ones

Deleting older messages. I have chats with my husband littered with texts and pictures. There needs to be an easier way of clearing the text messages without deleting the pics/videos. Deleting messages is a tedious job at the moment. Sometimes I even like to keep some messages for sentimental reasons, why can’t you make deleting/keeping specific messages easier so that it doesn’t take half my phone’s storage??? Only lets you select 25 at a time, that’s so annoying.

Notifications error. This app never goes out a moment to surprise you. Its been a month and three updates later, I am not getting any message/call notification from viber unless I open to check on it. I have tried all the possible hacks n tricks posted on google or help section but still im out of luck to get this issue sorted. Is there any possible way to get this notification error sorted please..? That would be of a great help.

Not receiving any notifications at ALL!!!. Ever since getting the new update, I get no message notifications and have to physically go on the app and all my messages come up!! And there are even times where my messages won’t send and they lag and it’s been absolute hell trying to contact my international customers! Viber bought out a new update and it did NOTHING!! The problem is still there and just getting worse! I’ve deleted the app, rebooted my phone - nothing works!! I’m losing out on business

Not getting notifications. After the latest update to Viber, a day ago, I am not getting the usual notifications that I have any new Viber messages. Nothing has changed apart from the app being updated. I have to manually check by clicking the app and then all the messages come through at once. No issues with any other messaging apps like WhatsApp. I’m on iOS 16.0.2. Have rebooted my phone manually and also it restarted when I updated from iOS 16 to 16.0.2. Viber support so far are useless. Received a reply to my ticket that was clearly a cut & paste situation.

Shaun. The best chat site with secure settings and location options. It’s very refreshing to be able to get support from an actual person who listens and acts well done Viber. I have used Viber for years and would recommend it to anyone it’s a 5 star app.

Heaps better than WhatsApp!!! Converted.. I like the interface, the reply to option, the option to show/hide online status, read etc. also the private chats, blurred photos, self destruct timer, clear chat... so many more options than other message apps. This is my top choice after shopping around. Notes: reply to specific msg doesn’t work in private chat? Why. Also, would be great to customise sounds within the app, especially text tone for specific recipients and to allow do not disturb override for favourites like in the iPhone messenger.

TERRIBLE. The reason this is terrible is because I’ve used it before and it’s not all so secure. When I get added into strange groups i get scared and I don’t think it’s ok to be able to let strangers add you in a random group. I would recommend using Skype instead. Perfect for connection and chatting and u can do a lot of stuff there it’s way better since u have control of your own account and strangers can’t add you into a random group they made. So if you think Viber isn’t the best for you then use Skype it’s really good.

I love Viber but there are some issues. This social app is used to be a good app for me but after a couple of days I found some terrible things in this app. First, I found a sticker that contains a swear word "S#IT" which is bad, appears in the toliet paper 🧻 mess-up sticker from LegCat means business. So can you mark stickers that is restricted to 🔞? Second, one of the annoying bugs is the Viber call screen made by my phone 📱, is terrible because there's no button to reject the call, while the one that is made by Viber has. Other things: • Whenever my dad is calling me with my family group maybe I have to wait 3 seconds when answering? • I can't even make calls in background. Once I want to read some information while making a call the call automatically ends.

A TIN OF SPAM. STOP SPAMMING USERS. I do not want inane “happy new year” messages from the viber company. Ironically, Viber probably has a whole team fighting spam on the platform, yet Viber company itself is the biggest perpetrator! I do not want apps on my phone randomly telling me “happy new year”. Also, the “Viber” user cannot be blocked like other spammers can be. Also, viber DELETES YOUR PRECIOUS MEMORIES. This app deleted photos and videos of my parents’ trip through Europe. A disgusting and irresponsible app! Delete it and do not use it!!!!

Is this really secure???. Have you now noticed that the predictive text now includes your passwords that you likely have never typed into a Viber text before. Example: if one of my ‘secure’ passwords for a completely different app was Chri$tm4s. When I commence typing the 4 for letters of my friends name Christian, one of the 3 predictive text also displays my password as an option. This is not acceptable. Revert the predictive text back to the previous version of Viber where this did not occur to continue to make this a secure app.

Multi task. When I make a call through viber app and then I use the message at the sae time after I switch between apps I don not have access to my viber option to cancel the progressive call or turn on my camera none of options are available. Even I use green option at the tope of my phone’s display. I use on iphone xs Thanks

Terrible with notifications. Viber is alright generally, but one thing it does so badly it is annoying and very inconvenient is notifications. My family uses Viber to keep in touch with each other, but I live a very busy life and often don’t have time to check Viber. But only after I do check Viber will the app notify me of one text message someone has sent, and then when another text is sent it will send a notification saying “You have new messages,” and then it will stop notifying. I guarantee you, use any other messaging app, and you will get a better service than this, especially when it comes to notifications.

Very clear phone call. I rarely write review app especially there is a charged :). However this app is so good. $10 per month to call oversea unlimited 60 countries with very high quality call is worth to write a review. It is worth $10 a month to contact your family and friend in 60 countries. And also thank you for the free call as well. :)

Great app but recently stopped working. This has been a great app for years but recently my app and a few friends/family have been having problems receiving messages and getting notifications until we open the app up.

Put my account in the blocklist. I am using Viber since ages and suddenly I found out that Viber put my account in the blocklist without proper explanation or information. When I contact Viber support there response was that due to spam activity they put my account in blocklist and it can’t be unblocked. This is the most unsatisfactory response I have ever received. They didn’t check or investigate it. Note: 1 star is the minimum I can select. It’s worst customer service experience I’m facing. Trying to put my number out of blocklist and receiving the same reply.

Love it!. Love Viber. Been using it for about 10 years now to send messages and photos and videos to my family overseas or when I’m overseas, and it just gets better and better. I’ve used it to ring and talk to family from overseas too and it’s never failed me!

Blocking an account for no reason. I am highly disappointed in this app that I have been using for over a decade now. Having an old number for 10+ years, I have never faced an issue of being blocked due to spam or an unusual activity. Changing my number and activating a new account, I got blocked two minutes in (not having sent a message to anyone). Later, I got unblocked, and now the same problem is happening. I haven’t used Viber for anything but for school and family, as well as not having sent a message or opening Viber for hours, and when I finally did, I saw that I got blocked again. I tried contacting the support with the explanation, but the support is absolutely terrible because they only work with bots. For such a huge company and big name, utterly SHAMEFUL.

Beware of this app. I tried to install this app using my new phone number. I received a message that activation failed. When we enquired further we received anor message saying my new number has been permanently blocked by Viber with no chance of rectification because of spam problem. I am not a spam sender. This is unbelievable! There seems to be no way to contact the app provider to sort this out.

Viber communication. For Long time I used to use viber for communicating with my friends and families overseas and locally. The reception found to be very good clear and can have lengthy conversations uninterrupted. Thank you Viber creators for your excellent service. PC Desktop App should have Chat Clear Option. Few Modifications are needed: 1. Windows PC client (app) should have chat clear option. Or else, PC app should have a sync option with Phone app. If we clear chat from phone, it will also clear from PC 2. Ads are very bothering. As-free version should be introduced.

Not Working. My account has been blocked from landline and some mobile calls . Have been waiting 3 days for the problem to be resolved but nothing .I have cancelled my subscription and won’t be renewing or recommending . Paid extra subscription just to try and use to keep in contact while overseas a total waste of time and money still didn’t work don’t bother using better off with wi-fi calling a refund is all this app is worth

Viber is more appropriate communication app for........ I have been connected with Viber for long time and it’s helped me to keep in touch every day with all my friends and relatives. Viber is hassles free, easy to get connected and most appropriate communication weapon to my life. It’s saves me money and time. Thanks Viber.

Not notifying. The app is great for providing a means for communication however it does not notify me when I have a message. This is quite devastating as my dad who lives overseas will send me a notification and I won’t get it until a few days later when I intentionally go into the app to check. He also has the same problems with the apps. As does a few other users I know. Would be great to have this issue fixed.

Incredible. I give this app a rating off 100 out of 5, because this app is a really good app, i think its a safe app, u can choose to have ur online on or off and can the read on or off as well, i have had this app for six years, and i use this app every single day. Its a very good app.

Broken notifications - Viber gleefully incompetent. Dear Viber, a core yet basic feature of your instant messaging app has been broken for numerous months now. Yet, you prioritise the development of useless features, lens filters and sticker packs. Every other instant messaging app on the market allows you to receive messages while the app is closed. How can you possibly prioritise anything over fixing an app-breaking bug? If I ran iOS development at Viber, I would expect to be fired operating with such sheer incompetence. When can we expect to have this basic feature fixed?

Pics/Vids. Love this app. But recently I am unable to send pictures and videos. I have deleted app and re-installed and made sure all updates are done, and now I can’t even receive them!! Hard to actually get someone to get back to you and sort it out quickly. Never been a problem until now. Do have to say that the connection with iPhones seems to be consistent when you read reviews..

Great app. I use viber regularly on my iphone for keeping in contact with my family who live overseas. It does the job very well. Only one minor irritation is when I receive a mobile call or facetime, i can’t dismiss the call without viber turning off video, so everyone on the viber call needs to turn their video on again..

Slowly Going Downhill. Unfortunately, Viber used to be an excellent app, however I (and many of my friends/colleagues) are experiencing issues where messages do not get delivered in a timely manner. Example: A friend sent me a message at 8:30am.. I actually received in at 11:30am even though I was fully connected to wi-fi and all the notification settings are enabled. No relies from the seemingly non-existent “Customer Service.” Looks like I will have to slowly transition to another service.

Blocked my account. I didn’t use Viber for long time. Recently some reason to use it and started conversation. Then suddenly Viber locked my account. Off course I contacted the customer service with screenshots and said I am doing legitimate conversations. I received a reply, a rude reply and said can’t unblocked and don’t reply because my number is sending spam. I’m using Messenger or WhatsApp etc and they never has this kind of issue. It is not my problem. Im a real person.

No security at all. Viber announces to everyone that has your number on their contact list your new number, so no matter how hard you try to avoid an abusive ex-partner, or just anyone for any reason, they immediately know your new number. I changed my phone number and Surprised!!!! A person I try to avoid texted to my new number, I figured out it’s Viber who let them know. You are not protecting our privacy. We keep the old chat history but we are not asking you to tell everyone that we change our number. It’s our job to tell them, not yours. The person I don’t want to meet never chats nor calls me on Viber, yet he still knows my new number and texts me. Where is my privacy and security here?

This app is no use. Please don’t waste you time, and use apps like WhatsApp. This is just another chatting up like others.

Bad. It doesn’t work for me

Awesome. I don’t know what some of these people are talking about, I’ve been using it for over a year and never had any problems. I love that it’s extremely clear and will even give a warning if encryption has been tampered with to either party. A solid app with fantastic features. Also way better than Whatsapp which is not user friendly to use especially if you’re a new user and just owned by facebook anyway so you can forget any level of actual privacy there even though they sell it as supposedly being that way.

They blocked my husband’s number. They blocked my husband’s number for no reason! Totally disappointed by you Viber.

Spammy. Way too many spam messages from strangers and no quick way to report it. It is invasive and annoying. What happened to privacy? It happens so often that it is not worth the effort of contacting the team every time it happens.

Great but.... Great app but there is no way to save the little video messages onto my device outside the app. Would love to save some of the cute messages from my niece. Please make a way to save the video messages!

The most horrible customer service. The customer service on this app is just non-existent. I use Viber to keep in touch with my family. I had to submit a ticket twice after being asked by their Twitter Viber help handle to submit another one regarding my issue accessing my account. Never got resolved and no one replied. And it has been close to two months now. Very disappointing.

I have received messages that are encrypted but I don’t know the messenger.. I have been invaded by political messages Now I have messages encrypted that I don’t know the sender and there is no place in the app to report inconsistencies I have used viber for a long time and I hope this is resolved soon now that I have contacted yourselves Sincerely Lorna

No privacy !!!. Viber is no longer secure as it used to be before... I am receiving Spam invasion all the time with a bunch of phone numbers from all over the world, that I can’t even block!!! I am going to remove it from my phone, viber is like imo now they’ve become a public chat with no respect for privacy, whatsupp is the best for now and hopefully they don’t make it messy like viber and imo!!!

Virus. I was about to change my phone number on Viber because I just got a new phone number, and when I went on Viber it went straight to my contacts ( still on the app) and the bar at the bottom wasn’t there. Then I tried shutting down my phone which didn't make difference. The next day, it was there was no change. Then after that I had to delete the app, and now I can’t access my Viber account because I can’t use my old phone number or get a SMS code. I know I could get a new account, but it keeps happening again.. it’s all lost.

Activation failure when changing number. I got an activation failure when I changed my phone and operator then switched for my old number, the system detected it as a scam and blocked me, how to contact Viber to solve this issue ?

Viber is still not that updated. Hi there I use multiple chat messenger apps, and honestly Viber is very outdated application. So many applications these days have status updates , stories you can post so others can view and send onetime view images so it doesn’t take up space on your phone like a feature Snapchat type. I personally feel Viber can do a lot more and better with the application update. It’s still very behind from WhatsApp /Snapchat/ Instagram and others.

Not receiving messages. I don’t receive any messages when the app is closed. Background app refresh is, of course, turned on. The issue appeared for the first time couple of weeks ago. Couldn’t figure out a solution so far. Reset my phone, reinstalled the app... I rely on Viber for regular contacts with my family abroad. This is really frustrating.

Blocked Account. I had created my account about a week ago and was blocked for suspicious/unsual activity when I only had 1 person on my contact list with little activity on the app. Submitted 3 tickets and got the same general response stating they cannot remove the block. Customer service sucks and their tracking system for suspicious activity is even worse!!

Please check your connection. I can’t register, it keeps telling me that I have no internet connection, even though my ping is <15 and download speed is 80MBps and upload speed is 60Mbps, and I tried different times with different internet providers Simply there is no ease to use this app bcuz u might mot be able to register even

Camera problem. It seems that you have problems with a frontal camera in the program. Fix it because it looks like a mirrored when I turn phone right camera shows me opposite side. Fix this bug please.

Does not do real investigation.. I don’t usually use viber since there are a lot of other social media messaging platforms but i keep one since i have a group of doctors. A few mo the ago i have been receiving messages to join groups (marketing, crypto, etc) from those jot in my contacts. So i delete and block them. Now i cannot open my account since viber claims that my number has been reported as a source of spam. I have never sent out messages using viber. Yet they have accused me if such. I have written them to unblock my account since it is preposterous. They sent me canned messages that they cannot. Crappy customer service. Crappy company who does not do investigation.

Notifications. Do the last couple Months all notifications are gone from viber on my iPhone

I sent a message to customer support, they got back to me with this ; ---Please reply above this line--- Hello, Your number was blocked on Viber because it was reported as a source of spam or as a result of unusual activity. The account has been automatically added to a block list and can not be unblocked. No further information is available at this time. Please do not reply to this e-mail. I did reach to support team, and they have not reply.

ADD FEATURE. Please put gaps between messages sent (for example) after one minute. The time in the messages are not even that big and we don’t read it every time we read the chats. It would be better if the chat bubbles have gaps between them for us to see that it is sent at a different time.

Won’t let me sign in. This app wont let me sign in. It wants me to do a phone number. So I did my phone number. Then, realizing Im not signed in with that one, I tried to log out. I couldn't find the log out thing. So I deleted the app then installed it again. Then I tried to log in with the other phone number. It said “Activation failed.” It gave me to choices: Close the little pop up thing or have ‘help’ come. Long story short, I pressed help, didnt get help. Just a little article thing saying the number was blocked. It apparently was a ‘previous spam number’. No, it was not. 🙄 SOOOO I changed it to my phone number. It said “ACTIVATION FAILED.” Of course. That phone number was also blocked. A previous source of spam. (NOT!) So yeah. I cant log in and text my friend. But, when I had it before, it was a good app. For that Im giving it 3 stars. If I could I would do 3.5. Plz fix this. Thank u!!!

Doesn’t refresh and receive message. Before the ios 16 roll out, the receiver always got the message with 2 check marks, take note this is on the a setting of push notifications, but now even if you are online the sender sees you only have 1 check mark

App just continues to devolve. After addition of ads, continuous insistence on keeping Viber notes, bloated community messages that I’ve had to contend with… I got it. It needs to keep changing and adding. BUT WHY REMOVE BLACK DARK MODE?! Seriously - what was the use?

Terrible app. I’ve been using this app for many years without any issues. Recently this app deleted my entire chat history and messages out of no where and I had no way to restore it back. So many memorable messages with family were wiped out. Then Few months later, the same thing happened again today! All messages and call history randomly got erased! Not going to use this app anymore!

Keyboard issue renders the app inoperable. Just like other are reporting, the app is completely broken as I can't type anything anymore. It is lagging like crazy. Using Google Keyboard on iOS 15, iPhone 11 Pro. Essentially the app is a read only messenger now, lol

Notifications stopped working. Tried to uninstall and Instruktor again. Nothing works. Notifications are enabled at iOS level for Viber app. It’s not the first time happening to me and my family. Switching to telegram.

Viber is useful. Viber is a useful app for groups. We use chat and the phone to confer. Had some difficulty joining phone conversation so please simplify instructions. Please keep app free of charge and protect privacy of users.

Horrible spam filter, can’t be unblocked. For reasons unknown, my phone number was flagged as spam and blocked, almost immediately after activating, after being invited to a chat for gaming. I’ve tried to contact support twice, and submitted tickets, only to receive an automated message that reiterates my number has been blocked for spam, it can’t be undone, and no further info is available. I can’t even talk to someone about it, or figure out why. Literally didn’t have time to spam someone if I wanted to. How could I immediately have been flagged. What an unfriendly, unusable platform. Frustrating and disappointing, and needs way better tech support and customer service.

Stopped working. After a year of using the viber it is now taking 40% of my total phone space and there is absolutely no way to clean it up because it stores all the media from group chats and you cant even delete it. The only way is to delete the viber from the phone. But this will delete many needed photos and chats from friends which you can’t copy to computer in any way! This is ridiculous. You can copy 20 pictures from viber to camera at a time. And it takes double space. Looking for a way to transfer the photos and will never use this app again.

Love Viber but recently low quality pictures and videos. I’ve used Viber for years, but this past month I noticed the pictures and videos I send are no longer as clear and with high quality HD like before. Sending and receiving pictures and videos with full clarity to and from all kinds of cell phones, along with the extra privacy, were my biggest reasons for using Viber. Hopefully, this is just a temporary glitch and they can fix it ASAP.

Not working at all anymore. I am always in use of viber since a lot of my contacts are there. Plus i get updated with news and get contacts from there during this pandemic. I have already reset my phone, re-installed the app but nothing has worked. The app is not connecting to any network that is available. Im not receiving any calls or messages that are important. I might have clients messaging me and they think my non-responsiveness is me saying im not interested in servicing them. Please fix this. If there needs to be a refresh button or an update. Bad review caught the attention of customer service!. I was unable to access my Viber account due to being blocked as spam for weeks! Didnt receive anything helpful from the website form. Until I left a very critical review here. I’m changing my review because of FAST CUSTOMER service through the APP STORE. Block your account with no warning for no reason. I have been using viber for 4 years to keep in touch with family but after trying to activate viber on my recently repaired phone I received notification that my number was permanently blocked due to spam or suspicious activity and cannot be unblocked. I know for a fact this isnt true bc I only use viber for calls maybe every two weeks. Support is incredibly unhelpful (nonexistent) and it is shocking that viber can suddenly decide to permanently block you for no reason with no evidence. It makes me very sad I cannot call my grandma directly anymore due to a stupid error and no one is willing to help. I will forever tell everyone I know to never use this app.

Viber is having a problems. Hi, recently many of users started ti have problem with Viber. For example message sent today, some will receive it tomorrow. That never happend earlier. Also, sometimes there is no notification about message or call until you open the app. viber, this is new issue that started recently with one of the updates. Facing Problems to use if i search any contacts in Viber to give sms.. i am using viber from last 7 years. my phone model is iphone 13. My account has been blocked for no reason!!!. A notification popped up stating that I need to sign in, when I tried to do so, I got an error saying «Activation Failed». I contacted support they replied with an email stating that my number was blocked on Viber because it was reported as a source of spam or as a result of unusual activity. The account has been automatically added to a block list and can not be unblocked. No further information is available at this time. Please do not reply to this e-mail!!!! That’s so unprofessional, not only blocking my account for no reason, but also not investigating the report or at least providing me with the details. My wife, my brothers and my friends stopped using Viber including viber out service.

So happy with this app.. We have been using Viber for years and it just keeps getting better! Our video chats with my granddaughter have been so great during the Pandemic. We get to see each other and keep caught up on how much she changes from one call to the next. Connection is usually much better than other apps so we depend on this one Give it a try you won’t be disappointed!

Great app, please look at my review.. I love the app but it could use more features such as having more varieties of modes like dark mode but in different colors the colors shouldn’t be too bright but also not too dark. I also want to add that I think you should be able to zoom and cut out the pieces of a sticker pack that you are making, It would be a good feature. Overall this app is very good and I use it more than any other messaging apps. Five stars :)

Account Blocked. Would typically give this app 5 stars as I typically don’t have any issues with it. However, all of a sudden my number was BLOCKED because of “spam or suspicious activity”??? I need this app to keep in contact with my family overseas and I think this is absolutely ridiculous as that is all I use it for. I would really appreciate this account to be unblocked. I have tried multiple times to reach out via email on the contact page of the website and see getting the same response. There needs to be a better algorithm for this. Heard other people have had the same issue!!

This app has serious security issues[ UPDATE ]. Constantly being added to random groups, that means eaither you have some serious bugs so scammers can take any informations from us from your database or you are selling our information. Activation failed. I love to use viber but when i got new number here in canada and installed the said viber apps i cannot activate the viber. When i ask help to customer service they told me that my mobile number has been reported because of spam. I dont know how it happens for the new number than the viber just blocked me without confirming why happened like that. I really hate this. They blocked me and never ever unblock again. I need this for my work because we are using this for our company group communication. On that day that i buy my new sim card that day I installed my viber app but unfortunately this is what happened. Maybe they want me to pay so that they will unblock my number. 😡😡😡

Technical problem. Lately I’ve noticed that the app is having some technical issues like uploading a picture takes a very very long time and lately doesn’t work at all besides the translation option isn’t working anymore for more than 10 days now without any apparent reason, I’ve updated the app and my iOS 13.1.1 is the latest version and I don’t know what to do as the app support isn’t working too as I tried to report the problem but always referring to a page can’t be open due to an error

The one. Viber's been the one I use to keep up with my Grandson in Canada. They have limited cell data so they use wi-fi most times. I use a mix of 4G LTE and home wi-fi. Works just fine when I'm out on my phone's data. My wife and her family group chat from all over the world no problems. Of course, if someone say has a poor internet connection then the video suffers at times, even occasionally voice as well. Overall, it has been our go to app for years to stay in touch. Automatic scroll down when resending messages. Been having issues with sending photos on the first try past two days. It works fine when I resend them. However, I can only resend one pic at a time and every time I resend one it scrolls to the bottom of the chat and I have to scroll up to resend the other ones. So the more I resend the more I have to scroll up. And it was like 100 pics. Sooo pls consider not automatically scrolling after resending pics/messages ? Or is it me not knowing some functionality? I couldnt even resend them as an album ://

Notifications not working. I’ve used Viber for years and has worked great, but lately it hasn’t been sending me notifications or will send a generic name of user sent a message. Not the actual message and no icon notifications either. Please fix this! Updated 08Nov22, still not receiving notifications from Viber unless the app is open. Updated 12Nov, still not receiving notifications, there has been an update and the problem persists, PLEASE fix it!

Why Viber is a must!!!. Viber has been instrumental in bridging the gap between families homestead localities. It has kept the upbeat of camaraderie of friends, families & special someones shoring up the morale to a leel of content, casting depressive moments to a minimum due to its effective connectivity regardless of time & distance. Even with the current pandemic, viber eliminates the dreadful abusive requirement of social distancing... so thank you for awesomely for this app tech that has been a great life enhancing morale booster among the human race.... a greatful user 😊

Viber on my cel. I have been using Viber on my telephone to speak to a loved one who lives 4000 miles away. I speak to her every day since 2015 and I have been so grateful for having this app that keeps me connected without destroying my bank account. It’s fast simple and works all the time as long as I have a computer or cel service connection. I constantly use the video features and we are constantly sending photos, gifs, and documents to each other. This service is excellent. I recommend this app to everybody.

Update : NO HELP!. I’ve e been using the app as it got out… but since my phone switch the app isnt recieving nor sending media, pictures, videos, voice notes… nothing, i asked the viber support team for help and all i am getting is the same answers, trying several things and at the end no solution… only getting the “ we are looking into it “ email. I blamed the phone, and switched again, but it still isnt working, is this phone numer related issue, or what? I need help!

Notifications don't work. Honestly, Viber is pretty cool. It lets me talk with friends I wouldn't be able to talk to otherwise, it's relatively easy to use. There's just one thing wrong with it: notifications. Honestly, I don't understand what the problem is. I've check in my settings app, the settings in Viber, and notifications are all turned on. And yet sometimes, Viber decides that no, I don't want to see the texts my friend is sending me. The other day, I went a week without getting any texts from my friend, and she thought I hated her. Viber, please fix this now before it destroys my friendships.

Sending messages in random order. Hate this app just because of the one thing: when you send more then one messages or photos and your internet connection is poor once you get connected the messages are sent randomly, not in a order that you wrote them. It’s really bad that viber can’t fix this for a years as I’ve seen a lot of comments regarding this issue long time ago.

Awesome free service!!. Amazing for a free service!! Really good even compared to paid premium apps. We use it because once on WiFi, no matter your cell phone signal, including areas of no services/ no bars at all. I can always reach my daughters no matter what!! That’s incredibly important to me, and the ease of use is also a wonderful feature! Only ads come on n form of you infrequent messages, not when you open the app or while you’re trying to use it. If 6 stars was a thing, then ceould absolutely give it 6 stars!!

Tech Support unresponsive and/or incomplete. On a friend’s recommendation I signed up for international calls. I later learned my friend my friend PAYED NO MONTHLY FEE while I had to pay. Since I was never shown that free option I’ve tried repeatedly to get help to understand why the discrepancy and how to change to a free plan. I’ve gotten nowhere. A tech rep might respond ONCE to a query, (maybe ask for more info maybe not) then apparently wash their hands of the problem. The info support page answer categories are limited and irrelevant to my problem. Also, the features offered for iPhones never materialized. Why bother? Go with WhatsApp or any of the many other and better apps. Viber, please train your support team to care enough to be helpful and efficient.

Video Problems with Viber. Viber used to be a great app, they'd notice and fix issues right away, but this time it's been couple months that videos i receive on Viber when i click on them to play i just see a green background and that's it i don't see anything on the video my friend sends me, i am sure i am not the only one who has this problem with viber. I don't want to rate u guys 1 star because i do like viber for many other reasons however i'll give u 4 stars and cut one star until u fix that issue then i'll add that star back. Thanks

Good app, a lot of issues.. I use Viber daily. And I like using it because it has some good features but it has a lot of issues. Sometimes it mixes the messages, like it doesn’t show all the messages and then after some time shows everything. Calls and Video calls lag a lot compared to apps like Whatsapp. If you’re on a call and the caller shares a video on chat, you can’t watch the video until you end the call. The online status is not accurate. People tell me I am online most days at 6 AM but I forgot when i woke up at 6 the last time. I’ve been using Viber since i got my first smartphone 10 years ago and these issues aren’t getting fixed. If it wasn’t for the backup i would’ve removed the app. Addition: Ads are a big issue as well, never experienced in other messaging apps that a brand would spam me. In viber is crazy and I even do the “block the number” thing every time and i get ads next week from the same brand.

App slow in open to send messages. You have to wait till the advertisement comes on above settings in the home page because you can send messages it will say no network or updating once the advertising comes into view then let’s you have a connection, please fix this no use updates on iPhone when same issues arise,

Blocked my account “for spam”, thing is I don’t even know how to spam. I was using Viber for Viber out calls to my granddad, who’s still in Russia, and he is too old to use smartphone. One day, I just couldn’t login, like an error. And finally after 1 month I wrote to their tech support, and got automated message, that my account blocked “for spam”. I don’t even know how to do that, and I was calling to just one person. Or any call to Russia is a spam now? thing is my granddad is 100% Ukrainian, so if it’s sanctions they hit the wrong person. Still got abt $3-4 and tech support answering my account “blocked for spam, don’t reply us”. So here is your 1 star, you deserve it.

Randomly suspended my account. My account was blocked and cannot be unblocked. When I contacted the support team, the agent was very unprofessional and just told me the following “your account was blocked because it was reported as a source of spam or unusual activity and immediately ended the chat session. When I contacted them again they said the same thing and added that they cannot disclose the reason for the suspension. This is ridiculous, why would anyone use a service that automatically bans your account without verifying whether the the reports were real or not or include an appeal process. Would not recommend this app. You’re better off using another service that respects its customer.

Thankful and Grateful!. It’s been years that I have been using Viber and I’m truly thankful needless to say grateful as well because it allows me to be in touch h with family and friends all over the world.., The quality of calls and connection has been so amazing and clear as crystal. I really don’t heed to be in other apps to connect with my loved ones. Content, happy, and satisfied are my three words for the service I get with viber. The best part of this too is it’s free so what else could you ask for?

False Spam Ban. I rarely use this app, and when I do, I do so to message my family. Therefore, I was very surprised to see myself banned for spam, I have been banned for only 24h, but now this puts at a risk of being banned forever. After a long conversation with the support guy, they refused to specify the reason I was banned for and said that the system has identified me as a spammer based on my activity. I explained in detail that it was a mistake or glitch, and they said they will try to improve the system, which I highly doubt.

iOS 14 iPhone 12 Pro issue. First, Viber is fantastic as a messaging app. The reason for this review is to get a bug in front of the Viber Dev team (then will adjust my review to 5 stars once acknowledged). The issue is HD encoded iOS14 videos will simply show up as “blue” for all recipients. 4K video encodes just fine and the issue is isolated to just Viber (FB Messenger, WhatsApp, and others seem to work as intended in sending video). The reason this is a big deal, for me, is grandparents are on Viber and am unable to send videos without recording in 4K (which eats up a ton of storage). This didn’t seem to be an issue before the iOS update. I believe it has to do with how Viber handles compression for messaging. Hope it’s resolved soon!

An app is nothing without proper I.T. Support.. I had an issue reinstalling after I got the new iPhone. I send an email thinking no one will ever reply. In less than an hour I had a message giving me instructions on how to address my issue. And it worked 2 days later they followed up with me to make sure it was resolved because they did not hear back from me. Wow finally a company that truly cares. Best support and customer care I have experienced.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I needed help using VIBER OUT. Even though I was following the call instructions correctly VIBER not only did not make the connection, it was charging me as if the call was going through. NO LIVE CUSTOMER SERVICE.. you have to WRITE and they reply saying that you’ll get a reply IN 48 HOURS...I sent it on a THURSDAY and did not get a reply until the FOLLOWING TUESDAY. with an apology for taking so long due to very heavy number of phone calls to the help desk.....the reply I got from VIBER HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH MY QUESTION...I resent the message asking the person who had MISSED THE POINT COMPLETELY TO REREAD MY ORIGINAL MESSAGE, that I needed help....I placed this last request a week ago and have received NO ANSWER!! My advice is to STAY AWAY: terrible customer service !!!

Apps Crashes. I never had problem with this app before. Then I think software update was done? Supposedly to fix bugs, but not even reinstalled viber crashes! Fix this bug or try it before you update on our system! I uses iPhone XR. Updating my review, after sending my crash reports I was able to reinstall the apps hope it works now! Thanks for fast customer support and working on the problem. I know I can rely on this app! The best and been using this app for years!!

Wonderful, outstanding services. I have my viber for over 11 years. I've been using it all this years and haven't had any issue with this app, it's trusted and reliable. I left USA to middle east for a business, I had to change my old phone and couldn't activate my viber as it was different carrier, they went up and down to make it happend, it took less than 24hrs and my viber was activated. After updating, Viber stops working, did not getting notifications if someone have written, for now i'm opening Viber and checking if someone have written. Please return silent notifications. I use Viber every day, I regularly spend some money for calls abroad here, in general it’s a good app. But guys, please return silent notifications (tell your iOS developers) in order to clear badge number when new notifications have been read on a computer. I read them on Mac, but the app on iPhone still shows a red badge meaning I have unread notifications, which is wrong.

App crashes on July 10th, 2020 and fixed. The app crashes every time and could not be opened and used today even after two times it was reinstalled. I have iPhone XS Max and it works fine otherwise. I also did restart the phone too but didn’t help. There is something wrong with Viber today. Hope it will be fixed soon. Problem with Viber was resolved same day later. Now everything is back to normal. Thank you Viber developer.

Don’t like new version. I have used Viber for many years. The latest upgrade is terrible. If the app is not open in the background I do not get messages or notifications until I open the chat. I followed all the tips I found online to fix this. Viber no longer has the sleep on wifi setting. What happens is when I open Viber it says waiting for network then updating. Then if I have a new message it will show up. Often time stamped hours earlier. This is unacceptable.

Learn from others Viber!. I changed phones and tried to log in, ended up having my account blocked because of “suspicious activity” with a reply that “it cannot be unblocked”. What kind of system is that? You have been in the market for such a long time and you still haven’t learned even basics. First off, when people contact you for support, you try to help resolve the issue! Secondly, you should’ve learned by now that some people MUST use VPN in order to be able to use your app and that doesn’t mean they are spammers or conducting suspicious activities. You are literally cutting people off from family and friends!

It’s good for what it is but needs some updates. I’ve been using this app for awhile now since my family uses it overseas but for the life of me, what do I need to open the app to see the rest of the messages? Why can’t I see it all in Notification Center like the rest of the messaging apps like WhatsApp? There is also the issue of not syncing messages read between apps. I have read all messages on one devices and on the other device it still shows unread. It didn’t used to be this way. I am not sure if it’s a iOS 14 issue or not.

Happy customer but.... Have been using VIBER for the past 4 year have been very happy with how easy to use. Until about a week ago I started to form a family group from Laguna Hills, reseda, Los Angeles, Culver City, Sacramento and Vancouver (BC) and the rest from the Phil. All in all we were 18 participants. I started calling all 17 participants by 8:45 California time and they all showed up. But then all of a sudden one by one they are disconnected. I tried to call them but it seems they cannot go on line again. Is there something I did wrong? Can someone enlighten me, please? Thanks ANGELICA

Disappearing messages. Viber is a great app that I used over many years, it is one of the first apps that I used for communication. Viber was even more private when disappearing messages were introduced. Unfortunately, all of sudden my disappearing messages are not disappearing in the chat although the other person’s messages disappear in the same chat Only my messages stay in the chat although disappearing messages are on, can anyone help me know what’s happening and how to fix it.

Not working as it should be. I have been a Viber user for as a long as I remember. It’s been nothing less than a great way to keep in touch with all my family and friends overseas. However, in the last couple of months I have noticed lots of glitches, bugs,.. very irritating when you are sending messages and you have to double check If they are delivered, because oftentimes they never do. Anyways, not sure if it’s because of the higher volume in the holiday season days, I hope something changes/gets fixed. Thank you!

Used to be great- now we don’t get messages. I’ve been using Viber for a long time because it works across multiple platforms. My wife and kids can chat on phone, then move to the computer then move to a tablet and keep the same chat going. Lately though, messages aren’t going through. We will send one and get one checkmark, then the other party won’t receive the message until they open the app to send to the other person. And since there is no way to message support that I’ve found yet, I’m leaving this one star review hoping they FIX IT! My daughter gave up and deleted hers and said she would just use texting from now on, so you’re losing users!

Viber not only supports communication but also working. Viber is good for communicating, such as call, video call, edit messages, intern-video messages, voice messages, images… Moreover, viber desktop is still active even when our phone is out of battery, this provides a good window to support working, by window sharing, sending worked files, If viber allows to draw during screen sharing, it will be great! I give viber 5 stars Thank Viber alot

Getting worse. The app is getting worse. At first it was stability during video calls- they used to reconnect with video after a glitch. For a year now you had to turn off and on your video so the other party can see you. A recent update broke in call buttons - mute and camera on-off, they are on when they look like they are off and vice versa. A recent update also broke back camera video - it is now mirrored, so you move your phone left and video moves right , making it very hard to show people things behind you. At these worked perfectly in older versions ...

Still some privacy issues. When I double click to select apps or close apps, Viber shows the last displayed chat, whether it is supposed to be hidden or not. I think the screen should be blurred or blank. Note, this may include photos. Also, if I receive a hidden chat, I have to know who sent it or I can't get to it. I think I would prefer to just use my ID (pin or thumbprint or whatever) to open access to all available hidden chats.
