SCRUFF - Gay Dating & Chat Comments & Reviews 2024

💸 Want to send money abroad for free?

We transfer money over €4 billion every month. We enable individual and business accounts to save 4 million Euros on bank transfer fees. Want to send free money abroad or transfer money abroad for free? Free international money transfer!

Outdated, poorly designed, bad customer service. Update: The price has continued to rise to $19 a month. Not worth it at all. Sorry, but this is no longer a “community app”. The reviews on here are totally fake btw. They hire a marketing firm to write them. You’ll notice that most of the reviews are in broken English and are often copied and pasted over and over. It's too expensive to use the "premium" features. It's just the same losers on here day after day. Why should I pay extra or features that are commonplace by now, and don't guarantee that you will meet high quality people?

Features are actually bugs. The “Insights” feature seems awesome—why bother someone who’s not into someone your age, or into bears, or what have you. Saves time and rejection, right? Wrong. The Scruff support team insists that the results are based on your last 50 interactions. Well, I’m here to tell you that 100% of my interactions were NOT with 36-45 year old boys next door. In fact, very, very few of them were. But all those 18 year old geeks looking at my profile? As far as they know, I’m not into them. And God knows how many guys I didn’t say hello to because I believed that the Insights were...you know...insightful—and they weren’t into me. It’s one thing to have a dating/hookup app that could work better. Everything can work better. But this app actively works *against* you. Never seen *that* before.

Great App!. I recommend this app for scruff guys and all guys of every kind. I don’t view it as a “hook up” site, and believe although the option is there, it’s also a great place to make new friends. The “venture” feature is amazing and unique for these types of apps. It allows you to search guys in any area around the entire world. If you plan on traveling, I definitely suggest utilizing this feature to meet guys online before you arrive. This enables you to meet potential date, no matter what intent, and allows you to learn about the good spots friendly to our sexuality! I did this when traveling several times, and all I can say is I was very happy and fortunate to have this app. I believe you can get a free trial before upgrading to “Pro”, which will allow you to familiarize yourself with Scruff, and realize why upgrading is not only the best route, but is fair in features and price. Try it out! It’s undoubtedly the best tool out there for meeting new guys. I’d just like to add (because it’s happened to all of us), men on here are way more friendly and courteous. They try to constantly out-do themselves, and will even ask for your opinion or suggestions on any potential changes, but it’s unlikely as this app provides just about everything! Xoxo

Young gay hot men! Try Scruff!. Without a doubt Scruff delivers a daily feast of gay men. You can spend hours reading the profiles and viewing face photos of aspiring young gay men on your Smartphone in the privacy of your home or office. You are allowed to “woof” any man that you might fancy. This is purely your individual choice. You can even contact any of these individuals if their profile offers any interest to you. It is up to the individual you try to contact to message you back. It may be problematic as to whether you receive a message back because that is based on mutual interest of looks, hobbies, business interests and numerous other factors. These factors can be included under the very general term of “chemistry”. The basic plan is free. You are limited on the number of guys you can view. It is still very generous on the number of men you can view. For a nominal monthly fee you can upgrade to the “Pro” plan. With this plan you can view many more gay men along with their profiles as well as message any guy you might want. It is very addictive to browse the guys. It is very entertaining as well. I would highly recommend this app! If you are a gay man I guarantee you will enjoy yourself!

Support and pricing. I contacted support to ask why when someone send me a pictures I lost the ability to view them again after a few days. No response. Then I lost the ability to allow people to view my private album. It seems like the monthly subscription is extremely high end and not worth the price. And not just Scruff but most apps. Hell at least Grindr offer free use of their premium services sometimes. Sorry but the price to pay for premium service for Scruff is more than I would pay for a dating app especially when the people on the app, which has never to do with Scruff, are so pretentious. Geeze how many people feel they have to have a muscular picture of their body thinking that’s what the gay community is all about. But I digress! Bottom line Scruff offer your service with a little more control and lower your price.

Average App, horrible customer support. The app is OK I guess. The ads aren’t completely obnoxious. There are always several popups when you open the app but I expect them and my finger is always ready in the upper right of the screen to immediately close them before they even load completely or before I have to even look at them. Using the app doesn’t feel like a chore. However, I wish there were more people on it. I have issues with the daily match never showing me anyone local, everyone is over 200 miles away. I sent a support ticket about it and apparently no one that works there has any sort of reading comprehension skills because the response I got back told me I need to change my relationship status to “open relationship” to get better matches. What are you even talking about Bernard from Scruff support? That doesn’t even make sense and my relationship status should have no effect whatsoever on the distance of the matches you send me. This would be less of an issue if you didn’t only get like 10 matches per day but every single days’ matches are always a complete waste.

Discriminatory Business Practices. After nearly 3 years of trouble free membership, Scruff appears to be very biased when choosing to enforce its picture profile guidelines. I have had two previously used photos (for months) flagged for no apparent reason. There was nothing salacious or inappropriate per their guidelines, but the censors still chose to flag my picture - even after submitting the pictures from fellow scruff users for comparison with identical poses and clothing. My tickets to scruff support remain unanswered and they continue to flag my previously used, publication safe photos now out of spite it seems. Needless to say, if you are a minority, steer clear of this racist company! If the person screening the pictures do not like the way you look, you too will find your picture blocked and it will have Nothing to do with their policy.

Grindr on steroids. Scruff is just Grindr on steroids for some reason. People talk about Grindr guys being creepy and awful, but at least you deal with a wide variety of men. This app just has the worst of the awful guys, the lowest of the low in our community; it’s disgusting. This app is geared towards ‘masculine’ men, although it claims to be inclusive (more on that below), so you get all the toxic masculinity that comes along with it. I have been using this app for about 5 years and I’ve only hooked up twice from it for the first time this year. I’m not going to pretend to be a stud, but I’ve always had much better luck on Grindr. It’s only because the personalities of the guys on Scruff make me want to vomit so I lose interest quickly. Even if just for a quick hook up, it’s still not worth it. The app allows you to write more stuff on your profile than Grindr does, which makes some guys write entire essays about their likes and dislikes and that’s where you start seeing all the racism, and internalized homophobia even more. I could go on for hours writing about the kind of guys that get on the app, but it’s clear they only cater to a very particular audience. The app claims to be inclusive and what not, but even the staff is prejudiced. It’s clear that the good reviews mostly come from the same people who contribute the worst our community has to offer. To top it all off, the same guys will message you on Grindr, but not on Scruff. It makes no sense.

Great Guys But That’s Changing. So this is by far the best app I’ve found to work for me. The guys overall are mellow, it is much more so than Grindr…And silly petty disconnects etc. happen much more in frequently. It is, however, changing at least in the city I live in and that probably has to do with the demographics of our city changing. We have had a lot of people from the West Coast moving in who are used to a different style and pace of life and although we welcome them it’s sad to see the friendliness we’ve been used to and becoming more impatient as well that is way way too specific in the types of guys they are looking for. In fact I think guy types should be much less of a feature than it is. Just like Facebook (Meta🙄), the fewer people we allow into our little world even just for chat, the more specific and less friendly people become when someone outside of their limited preference range tries to say hello. My opinion.

Hmmm…. Being able to connect with others anywhere in the world is a gift. Otherwise, we’d all be in an echo chamber… unable to compare show sizes. I use this app to connect with other people in different cities and countries. It broadens my horizons. And I hope other people understand that there’s more to SCRUFF than other similar apps because it offers global interaction. Thereby broaden it’s capabilities and relevance… SCRUFF is more than a virtual bar scene. I think I’m going to write an Op Ed on this subject… Maybe SCRUFF can find a way to incorporate use of the James Webb Telescope… that’d be fun as a limited feature… do we have any openly LGBTQ+ Astronauts?

Easy to navigate. I definitely enjoy Scruff Pro for the unlimited searches and options to save profiles and have favorites folder of large size and ease of sharing pictures and history. I have met such beautiful, wonderful men on here both near and far away when traveling. I have developed incredible and long lasting friendships that have enriched my life tremendously. I am a much better man with my husband as my joy of life and love for others has expanded greatly. Any app that serves as a vehicle to transform you into a better version of yourself gets my vote 100%! 5 stars!

This app is a scam. I find it funny how every time I attempt to upload a picture it’s characterized as “too hot for Scruff” yet I’ve seen multiple profiles with similar pics posted. Mine was a chest pic with no nudity or underwear showing. I saw multiple profiles with underwear and some in direct violation of scruffs “guidelines” yet they’re still posted. I messaged a few of the guys out of curiosity and learned that they all have paid profiles. Coincidence? I think not. So if you don’t want to post a face pic you’re better off not getting this app unless you’re gonna pay to hide your face. The things they’ll do to extort money for features that should be standard. Like being able to see previous messages in a convo, all the pics in someone’s private album and numerous other things. Such a ripoff. Can’t believe Apple allows this app in the App Store.

Paid subscription was a waste/deleting app. This app has been down for days with no response from support. I get “network unavailable” messages when attempting to log in. I have a paid subscription and I still can’t get answers. I’ll need reimbursement for this issue. Please don’t give a pre-typed developer comment that’s not relevant asking me to “contact us directly”. I’ve already done that and it’s gotten me nowhere. Update: Thanks for the response. It’s as vague and unhelpful as this entire experience has been. It turns out my profile was blocked because some reject “reported me for impersonation”. Thanks for the compliment but I’m me. Once I proved it by sending in a selfie holding the date, I now have access again with a “sincere apology”. BUT you can keep your useless app. I’m deleting it as soon as I let my friends know. Your apology doesn’t make up for the accusation, lack of communication AND stolen subscription. I hope this helps others avoid wasting time and money on this kind of experience. Guys- there’s way better apps out there to spend your money on.

Discover/global does not refresh like they claim. Many don’t like the global being removed. Comments from developers say it will refresh if you pull down. It does not refresh until after many attempts. The discover main page changes order but if you are viewing online around the world and use the see more that does not refresh on pull down. Shows the same people. The online around the world disappears sometimes when you pull down to be replaced with something else and you have to keep pulling down to get it back. Then it’s still the same guys when seeing more most of the time. I don’t care to see many of the items in discover so would be nice to choose which ones show in app preferences and the refresh was consistent

Not a great update. Ver 6 Changing fonts usually means you’re running out of innovation. Apple does this every release now. Put the chat and woof buttons back to the right side. It’s bad and difficult as it is now. Probably no one asked for the way too large images sizes. Might want to survey that along with many other “ways things are” in the app. Navigation is improved in some places but very much worse in others. The buttons at the bottom were better on the side. Having the favs button at bottom now means that you have to make effort to get to your top fav favs. Before you just moved slightly into the top of your list. Now you have to move all the way to top of screen. In mobile usage, this is extremely bad. Been needing a link to see the entire profile for a long time now in Match. I don’t think the Global view should default to latest online. Most people aren’t looking for just whatever has popped up. Enable most woof’d to be at top. Do enough people really use Ventures? It’s not a well enough populated resource.

Disappointed. I’ve been using this app for quite some time many years to be more accurate and have recently had a profile photo of myself in costume at a convention removed citing that the member is not in the picture basically saying that I don’t exist because the costume was from a specific fandom that all I can gather just simply doesn’t fit their mold and this is after having customer support tell me it was an accident that my picture was flagged and I should be able to post it and now I’m basically being ignored by the support team and my account is now on the verge of being banned for re posting the picture that I was told was ok to post , utterly disappointed in the way this has been handled , pretty much being told to go put my self expression back in the closet ... and by a gay hook up app nonetheless .... honestly I expected better but I’m not surprised

New update took away key features. When my app updated to the newest version it now longer allows me to save pics or videos while I have “scruff pro” and it won’t allow you to screen shot anymore either to “protect” users which I guess I understand but if someone sends my a video or pic and I can’t save it to my device anymore or even screen shot it I feel like there’s no point to even pay for “pro” or even use the app anymore on top of “scruff support” being non responsive and this isn’t the first time this has happened I paid for three months and one month my app didn’t function at all and I got no type of compensation for that so I paid the price of three months and only got two fully functional months lol now I get no response and it’s the same issues what a joke

Rude support, not responsive to customer requests. The developer needs to learn that a feature may be working as designed, but if it doesn’t work the way their customers want it to, it’s not working correctly. Paid version only allows a maximum of 2000 blocks and hides, because (according to Scruff support), more than that causes app performance to degrade unacceptably. Other dating apps have solved this problem, but Scruff support were adamant that it’s not a problem and therefore they are not going to change how this works. Instead, they directed me to use their search feature, which also isn’t as robust as it could be, and doesn’t solve the problem I have, which is that the only way to get different guys to show up in my feed is to block or hide the ones who are already shown (so that there is room for other profiles to be displayed). Again the answer from Scruff support was “this is working as designed and we’re not going to change it.” These answers would be unacceptable from the company I work for, and pretty much any other company I’ve encountered. This developer needs to learn that their paying customers are their most important customers, and the customer is always right. Again, “working as designed” is not the same as “working correctly” if it’s not working how your customers want it to.

Good app, disappointed about chat feature. I do generally like Scruff, as I think its better that many of its counterparts. However, I've always been disappointed that you want us to pay to be able to view messages and photos sent in chats after a certain point in the past, especially when this is such a basic (and FREE) feature in so many other dating apps. This is just my opinion, but I don't think I should have to pay to view my complete chat history with a guy, especially when this is such a basic feature of the app. I hope you’ll at least consider making that a free feature, as I think it would make a lot of guys very happy!

Everything Grindr wishes it was. This is a top notch quality app. It’s well-thought and user friendly. The guys are definitely more reliable when meeting (and I use multiple apps). Customer service is responsive (and quickly). Profiles have freedom for more detail. The only change I’d make would be a face requirement and profile verification to weed out posers using fake pics. I never have issues with ridiculous cartoon ads for childish games. I never get spammed or scammed. Grindr needs to up their game. The only reason its more popular is because it’s been around longer but it’s absolute trash. Scruff is definitely worth the money but it’s still great as a free app. I’ve had it for many years and recommend over every competitor hands down.

Three reason... +1. I dislike the amount of people that use scruff. That’s it, truthfully, I can’t thing of any other grievances. At first glance the interface is wonky (Being that all gay boys start on Grindr). However, Scruff has amazing capabilities! Everything I could ever ask for in an app of this sort is there, it’s very well thought out. Some of my favorite things are the private photo albums •You can quickly catch a guys attention by unlocking, rather than a nearly invisible ‘hey’•The human body is art, one should capture it is ways that communicate that and share often• I also love the fact that you can jot quick notes about someone for yourself •I don’t have PRO at the moment but this would be something I’d us after every conversation•He likes/dislikes... Don’t talk to him he... *giggles*• Lastly I enjoy the match sectioning the app •I think it’s super cutesy•It keeps me coming back just about every day, there aren’t very many profiles that catch my attention in my area [What can I say, I’m out of their leagues]•It’s an awesome way to see profiles that I do not come by on a day to day bases• Okay, okay, okay; This is really the last one. The ability to search lNo need to elaborate• Truthfully Grindr gets more attention than it deserves and I wish more people would use scruff. Pleeeaasssss make it happen some how!!! But only allow the men... I like men not boys... MEN 😍

Broken app. I haven’t been on here in over two years. I just signed in and attempted to create a profile and your app told me I just created one three days ago. It didn’t even let me tell you my email address, how can you verify that I created a profile three days ago? I did not create a profile three days ago. Something is definitely wrong with your system. By the way I just bought this phone yesterday. It’s impossible that brand brand new phone has already registered its ID to your system. Update: I received an email from this developer That said we’re sorry you’re having trouble logging in please create a ticket. I already did that and You didn’t respond and that’s why I left a bad review. twice they still didn’t bother reading my messages. I don’t need your sex app

Too limited if you don’t pay. Scruff used to be an app that offered way more for free users than the competition, but now if offers even less than them (and considering the state of other apps, that’s saying something). Now you can’t even see messages from a day or two back unless you pay, which not a single other app I’ve used has done. It would be one thing if Scruff had a large community of users, but compared to competitors like Grindr and Tinder it’s fairly limited and there’s just not that many people using it. That wasn’t as big a deal when the quality of the app made up for it, but now now that it doesn’t offer anything not already done better by competitors (and in some ways does even less) it’s hard to see the point of Scruff. Unless something changes, I wouldn’t recommend anyone use it over other options.

Scruff is Great But!!. Scruff changed several methods of filtering and blocking in wanted messages. I wish you could set up the app to where when we set up our profiles we only see similar attributes so if I set my profile to Single because I am then when I go to Global I want to see only the single guys Not married not Polyamory not Dating Also if you had more than Global and New maybe have chat rooms where we could then access to do group chat by state, city or continental region. For that matter have one for singles by city married by city. Need more than seeing everyone it’s too much and doesn’t allow one person to use the app like we want from it. I’ve met you guys in NYC several years ago and asked me my opinion back then and I told you that I love what your doing so nothing At the moment comes to mind. But now I’m starting to see several needs. The bar scene is gone and now this is it. So now let’s take it to the next step and create the retro bar scene in Scruff with streaming video chat with Video Bars for men with certain ages. I would love to see you take a FaceTime approach where if you were in a chat and wanted to real-time chat you could. I know that it requires bandwidth for streaming and it’s probably a future release

Worlds better than Grindr. Scruff is a strong app, and worth the upgrade price. Compared to Grindr which across the board is a garbage app. The only thing wrong with scruff is the picture dimensions, they’re extremely wonky since they’re taller than wide, making for a lot of low resolution crops and workarounds I the consumer side. annoying. But beyond that I would recommend in a heartbeat, plus you can go global or local. Set up plans with that guy before he gets to your city. Instead of chompin at the bit with thirst when he simply appears in your town on Grindr.

Mediocre attempt to get rid of fake profiles. They're doing a much better job than their competition by validating profiles and using the typical blue checkmark. Except you can't see it when you're looking at profiles or conversations or woofs, or any other ways that you're actually interacting with the person. You have to go out of your way to check. Validating is not mandatory. The site is still loaded with fake profiles that as soon as you confront them that you're only going to meet if they're local and can meet in person they block you. And since checking meta tags on pictures is very simple but yet they won't do anything to stop ancient pictures, snapshot pictures, or stolen pictures, which could easily be identified through missing or old meta data.

Very Poor Customer Support. I decided to ask Scruff’s Customer Support a very basic question. So I sent them an email in the Customer Support section. I got a response saying that ‘the answer to my question is below’. But there was no answer, just blank space. So I sent a return email telling them that they never answered my question. What did I get in response? Another email from them saying that my answer ‘is in the space below’. Again, there was just blank space. So I sent the email back (which said to send a return email if I had any further questions) telling them that they are not answering my question, just sending a return email with blank space. And what did I get in return? Yet another email telling me that my answer is ‘in the space below’. Again, it was blank. So, after the fourth time of doing this, I just gave up. Really Scruff? I would have hoped you could do a heck of a lot better than that! Shame on you.

So much better than Grindr!. I have used Scruff nearly for ten years! I have nothing but positive compliments about the company. And it’s not only in comparison to Grindr, who is awful. Scruff’s professionalism is evident in their quality of the app and customer dedication. With scruff I have encountered the following : - dedicated customer support - a response in a timely fashion - a follow on customer/product request - a follow on abuser reporting - service dependability, as for example messages being delivered by either parties, sender(s)/receiver(s) - a human connections when following on on issue - relatable advertising, no Christian mingle or similar no sense. Just product that enhances the livelihood of our community LGTBQ community! No just anyone buying/selling something. I don’t give this praise because I despite Grindr’s platform so much, I know quality when I see it. I can’t wait to see Scruff’s market value and presence exceeds that of overrated Grindr. I would be more happy paying Scruff’s extra service in comparison to unlimited blocks and whatever other nonsense that comes with “Xtra”. * I don’t and never have been employed by Scruff, nor was I compensated in anyway for this review. I enjoy there product and service and will continue to be their valued customer, just as they remember who their real customers are. Thank you, Valued Customer

Not Safe. I met a guy from this app when we originally talked and then ended up found each other from one of the dating sites and we decided to meet and we had a good time until he ended up choking and beating me up that night. I made a report to the police however they said the name and address he gave me was fake and the property was someone’s else and they said I should have write his license plate so they could pull up who this person was. He caught so many lies and they recommended me to report all the apps and sites he used and they all banned his account except this app. I submitted the pictures of us before and after what happened to me. Murf and Marcos from support team did nothing to help to protect people like me. I highly do not recommend this app to anyone otherwise you are on your own risk.

Good, but in need of work. This app's bones are fairly good, its quite a bit more stable then Grindr was, and the users seem to be quite a bit less on the creeper end of things. But that being said I can't do much of anything outside of messaging people without it being blocked behind a paywall. The app forces you to upgrade to a monthly service to even let you see your full message history, which is just ludicrous to be. It shouldn't require me to spend $10 a month just to see who I messaged or what I messaged to someone a few days ago. If they got loosened the reigns of the paid service a bit and gave free users a little bit more freedom without resorting to forking up every month, it would be a perfect five. Shame.

It’s better than Grindr. I’ve been using this app on and off. When I am using it, I just love how it’s structured, the ads aren’t annoying at all, and it’s just made fluid and super not buggy. AND it doesn’t hog your battery hostage! When I’m paying the monthly, oh my goodness, it’s endless and worth it. I do find more meaningful conversations on this app compared to the others. I love it’s global around the world feature. I’ve talked to some pretty great guys there, hopefully one I’ll get to call mine forever after this covid thing. Uhhh what else... idk. It’s pretty great. If you can afford it, go pro. If you can’t, it’s still a great experience.

Removing features and reducing quality. Recent updates have both removed the ability to see who you viewed and woofed, as well as changes the match from singles only to everyone. The first features are important so you don’t unintentionally harass someone that you may have forgotten you woofed or viewed, while the second removes the ability for people to match with other singles. I have no problems with couples or partnered people being on the app, but a lot of guys are looking for their own relationships, even if this is primarily hookup oriented. Opening the match to everyone makes it harder to find another single person. I think a lot of the recent updates are unnecessary and make the app worse. Changing the interface around is also annoying, as you become used to clicking on one part of the screen to access certain features.

After 8 years.... After eight years, I’ve deleted my profile and the app. The guys on here are just duplicates of nearly every other app. And since there aren’t as many here is there are another apps, you have more success elsewhere. Wow I get hundreds of messages, many of them from all across the world, I’ve only met a handful of people in those eight years. Ultimately, the app has been suffering a lot of bugs and glitches in the past few months. The developers are great. Yet the glitches that I run into are beyond annoying. Even when I try to submit feedback using the app for why I deleted my profile, the app kept sending me back into the feedback form. I could never even submit it. That’s my point. Add to that the constant messages I get that say my messages were not delivered even though someone is responding to them… it’s a very niche app. The user base is smaller than others, and generally I think friendlier. It just feels more like a penpal app than anything else. A big factor for me is a limit on blocks. I do love how you can have a large profile.

Bring thirst traps back!. But before you do, let’s make some changes: instead of showing us the most recent pics, let us chose a cover photo that appears on the main feed when we put something new new in so everyone don’t always bombarded with naughty pics all the time. Also allow us to swipe between someone’s thirst traps photos instead of going back out to the album and then back in to the pics. Lastly, connect thirst traps to profile vs going into what feels like a separate app just to find a pic a remember who this person was lol

It’s like that gay version of Facebook. When I decided to find a new man in my life I joined Scruff and started chatting with guys who live nearby. Seeing how close some guys are is nice because you can both choose whether or not you want to develop a relationship with someone before you get to know them. Something that takes a bit of getting used to though is that the distance that this app shows you is as-the-crow-flys distance. In other words, my boyfriend lives 37 miles away according to the app, but in actuality he’s about an hour’s drive away from me. It might be nice if Scruff utilized Google maps to give you the driving distance instead of what it gives you because it can be misleading. I ultimately found the man of my dreams on Scruff and me and my boyfriend now use Scruff to communicate with each other. We also have an agreement that we can flirt with other guys as long as we’re not looking for potential hookups. Scruff has been wonderful. I have met a lot of new friends in addition to finding my new boyfriend. This app has changed my life for the better!

The app is bad but it’s not the fault of the developers. I deleted Scruff tonight and forever… not because it’s a bad app (it’s actually really well designed) but because of its users. I’m at this weird age where I am young enough to appreciate technology (early 40s) and old enough to remember when it didn’t exist. i’ve been on some kind of gay dating app and/or site for over 20 years and more recently I’ve felt out of touch, out of place… on a different planet where I don’t belong. Let’s just say the priorities have shifted and it’s time to move on. Thanks, Scruff. I gave it a shot.

beards and butts. is what we’re looking for on here, in the end. why not come down to the one of most popular spots in town where you can get attention and validation from people who are seeking attention and validation from someone that isn’t you! bored? hop on Scruff. horny? let’s go! sad and having an existential crisis about it you’ll ever meet someone while continuing to engage in toxic social media habits that further distance us as a community by having us pick one another like fresh meat, well then this app is for you! you’ll love when you have a great conversation and then the person disappears. you’ll have such fun overthinking! and if you’re looking for something quick and easy, this is the app for you! careful though, the eager ones get a little clingy.

Out $60 on In-App Subscription. So I made the mistake of taking out a 12 month subscription. All was fine until I updated the app and was presented with a screen that said a new security policy was in effect and you must either "accept" or "decline". I read the new policy which gives Scruff the ability to be Big Brother and mine all the info about you that they can - including your device IP and MAC id. So I decided to "decline" and found I couldn't enter he app. Contacted Scruff regarding some sort of refund for the balance of my subscription and they said they couldn't do anything and to contact Apple. I chatted with Apple support and explained my situation, but Apple has a No Refund After Two Months policy. I asked them what I should do and they said to contact the developer. ..the runaround... I asked for Apple Legal contact info and sent them off an email and of course no response. I'm out sixty bucks, but decided that that amount was fine to pay to keep whatever privacy I have left intact with these thieves.

Suspended Profile. After being a paying PRO member for close to 5 years, my profile was suspended yesterday after sending a visitor a website link (I’m guessing that’s what it was - as the reason was vague, said repeated abuse - which there was NONE) who had asked a question about his stay. I’m still not certain what the issue was - filed a report 24 hours ago - ZERO response from Scruff. And my profile is still suspended. Lost several conversations mid stream. If this is how Scruff treats a longtime, paying member, without ANY HISTORY of abuse with nonexistent customer support, I’d hate to see how terrible others could be treated. Of course, Scruff can be a great tool for meeting people, especially traveling, but an issue like this is COMPLETELY unacceptable. Worst customer (non) service I’ve experienced in a long time.

Nearly the Worst. These apps are changing peoples interactions, and not for the better. There are studies that people no longer have empathy for other people, and decent people who still believe in treating other people the way they want to be treated, what used to be called common courtesy, or driven off sites like this in droves as the bad behavior of others becomes the norm, and made acceptable by scruff thanks to no consequences. I told someone off for their bad behavior and I was the one who got the warning from scruff, not them. That's perfectly normal behavior for scruff and me deciding not to be a doormat is not. Then they want me too pay for premium scruff, meaning premium abuse, nonstop. when scruff adds a means of the community voting on the people using their app so actions have consequences just like in real life, then it would be worth considering. Its insides are also messed up. They would lead you to believe that you're only interested in certain types, but the reality is what it's measuring is your reaction to those types writing to you in the first place.. The site is a real mess, and I'm not gonna support it. I actually deleted it from my phone today and won't be looking back.

Biased and Impersonal Customer Support. I’ve had multiple profile photos with me with just my shirt off be flagged “Too Hot For Scruff” or whatever, and you can see DOZENS of men without shirts, in underwear, in thongs, there are some that are nude and showing off their bare butts and that was deemed okay. I’ve taken this issue up with the support team numerous times and I get ignored every time on every app that I’ve messaged them on (Twitter, Instagram, their own app, etc.) unless it’s an issue concerning the functionality of the app. It’s incredibly evident those who are running the app have biases and refuse to address them when questioned about it. I would recommend Grindr over scruff. P.S. only reason I didn’t say Jack’d is because that app’s run by the same team as well. Update: and then they’ll offer to chat with you like you haven’t had the same discussion with them over and over again every time your photo gets banned. Just admit you guys are biased.

Get Scruffy on Scruff.. A noun and an adjective? A stimulating montage of beards, hairy chests, scrappy fellows, muscle dads, tattooed pigs, pups and varied interests run through my head and I’m here for it. This app is my go-to for not only sex but comradery (no joke!). I’ve met so many men with similar interests without hang ups and insecure jealousy who have become good friends. I mean, with Scruff there’s plenty to go around, right? And it’s much safer than any dark alley (as much fun as they are). If you just want to chat, let’s chat. If you want to hang out, let’s hang out. If you want to indulge in some WS with three different friends on a hiking trail, so be it (dibs on the middle)! In a Post-pandemic, PrEP-era, Queer-embracing, Shame-dismantling world I’m no longer apprehensive to say to anyone, gay or straight, “I’m getting Scruffy on Scruff.” (Side note reason for 4 stars: Sometimes unread messages get marked as read. It’ll be weeks before I go back to chat and see an old response that I missed. And I wish there was a sort of bulletin board for day to day updates without having to change my profile.)

Scruff Good, Scruff Sexy!. As apps like this go, I have found more real and quality men, overall. I enjoy the use of other apps too, but each provides differently, which is great. Sometimes I like a meal of my favorite comfort foods and sometimes I want something with more spice or....ok, with men you might not take home to Mom because while I’m not ashamed of that debauchery, I don’t want my intuitive mother to suddenly blush and/or choke mid meal, Dad trying not to “get it” and using all the wrong life saving techniques but wanting to just watch the game but not being able to hide a proud smirk (oh god, why is he really smirking like that)! I’m messing this all up, but now I’m hungry and HUNGRY! Guys, I think you’ll get as much or more here. Not confused, but more good solid dates and fun with sexy men. Now, go forth and multi...well, go getcha some...

Keep it Social, Make it Slutty, No judgment for all. Grindr, Growlr, Jack’d Scruff, Squirt, have all been rites of passage for us since I was beginning college back in 1992. WIth HIV and the AIDS epidemic, a generation of us was literally taken from the world, the generation that was the whole reason we can be who we are today in fact, and with them the art of cruising, bathhouses and all the kinky mysterious outlets dwindled into almost nothing. This is not from lack of necessity, mind you, so fast forward to THe social dating application age. I definitely am one that has no issue with them, and I see them for what they are… social apps. This may generalize them for some, but yo make of them what you want, and SCRUFF is definitely my favorite. In all the time I have had SCRUFF, I can say that it has rarely been something for me to hook up as much as the rest, but that is not a dig at all. I have made and still have several good friends that I met on SCRUFF, and that meansmore to me than anything else. It’s user friendly, not too set in its namesake niche, and always keeps it interesting consistently. with out being bigger than its competitors like to fancy themselves to be. THats about all .

Great benefits from Basic to Pro. Of the apps that I have used. SCRUFF is by far one of the better ones, up there with Recon. Comparing to the all famous Grindr, SCRUFF offers more features with your free membership, features that you have to pay around $40 a month for on Grindr. Speaking of money, the PRO membership in SCRUFF is by far more reasonable and unlocks quite a bit more. I have found the SCRUFF is less likely to have one time hookups and instead allows you to make friends that you may or may not have repeats with. Overall it’s a great app!

Really? R-E-A-L-L-Y!. Just because there’s a beer can in between my legs while fully clothed I can’t upload a picture? Yet half naked people shirtless and being total thots or wearing speedos and empathizing there backsides is perfectly fine? Scrw you! If I paid for this app I’d be way more angry. You guys act like Puritans yet you designed an app for s-e-xxxxx! Why bother if you’re going to censor people for innocuous things like wearing all their clothes while others are fully naked? Don’t act brand new to appease some corporate conservative agenda when you know dang well what you truly are. I’m sick of this FAKE stuff with these fake people/companies who lean on community and “love is love” while making every attempt to steal the piggy bank and throw their loyal customers under the bus at every turn. To heck with you, Scrf. I ain’t paying for a lie!

Limited blocks make Scruff risky. TOS enforcement is hit or miss and seems to favor some users over others. I'm baffled about why it's cool to let someone post a diatribe against unemployed job seekers but it's not okay to post a photo of my favorite vista when there's already search parameters that can bring up profiles with people photos only. Scruff claims there's screenshot protection which could lead anyone that reads that in good faith to post a profile photo right away but that feature doesn't apply to the profile photo itself, it's unclear to which photos it applies or if it even applies to the chat (it should), and the Help article doesn't make much of this clear from the get-go. Along with critically limited blocks, this setup gives irl stalkers more of a chance to track others more easily. Even if you buy the Pro subscription, which entitles you to slightly more blocks, but you let the subscription lapse, Scruff will instantly revoke the number of slightly increased blocks and all those users within the most recently blocked range suddenly become unblocked, potentially creating a risky situation irl. Grindr is still superior and more consistent in managing privacy.

Better than its competition. Scruff is better than the ever so played out Grindr. But you can still do a lot with Grindr that you can no longer with scruff and vise versa. You see a lot of the same flaky people which is a drag. It seems to be faster than Grindr and a lot less adds. I like the ability of having photo albums but dislike the ability to hold onto pics that are previously sent to others. Would be nice just to hit the button and see the previously shared pics. But I see the point of making it only available to paid subscribers. Monthly cost is on the steep side. A cheaper monthly fee would make scruff even more competitive than the competition.

Paying member...update ruined experience. I’ll start w/ saying Scruff for me has easily been one of my favorite hookup/dating apps, both in ease of use, selection of eligible great guys, and features for lying members. I deleted my Grindr soon after joining as a premium Scruff member because I felt I only ever easily found what I was searching for (with actual follow through) on this app. But all withstanding, this recent update has been abysmal from a technical perspective. Woofs and photo unlocks only seem to work half the time, often you have to fully back out of a chat & profile to see a new incoming message, and don’t even get me started on the photo viewing experience. The best part of premium IMO was the ability to quickly, easily, and fully see a members photo album; to get a better sense of if someone is your type. But now it is almost a pain to view a members full album. If you zoom too much or in a slightly careless way, it completely bumps you out of a user’s photo album back to their main profile, sometimes happening over and over. When you aren’t completely forced out of an album, half the time the zoom feature stops working all together. And will also frequently bump you to a completely different picture than you were viewing. It’s a mess to say the least.

Good community, okay app, but terrible service. I’ve enjoyed how they’re fostering a sense of community with the events page but the app isn’t as intuitive to use. For basic chat functions, yes. But when you find a feature it’s hard to go back to it or train yourself to use it right. Also, I subscribed to the pro version and on the same day (within the same minute actually) my profile got suspended for no apparent reason. I’m assuming these are unrelated but I wrote to support and haven’t gotten a real response, just things shuffled about for the past two days. Hope it’s not the case that they let me upgrade on an account that was suspended as I literally was locked out right after I hit the upgrade button. Even worse would be that the upgrade set some automation that triggered something suspicious that caused the suspension. Seems like a simple investigation but still no reply.

Okay but some problems.. Better than many of the alternatives. - Limited number of blocks for free users is a safety issue. - Additional monetisation features like paying $12 to appear at the top of the grid for two hours detract from the overall experience and utility, and comes across as desperate from the users as well as the platform.

Block function isn’t available. Blocking a person shouldn’t be for premium account only. It’s a basic thing for any dating app but Scruff is using it as something premium. It’s annoying many unsolicited people who you cannot block.

Update. The app is very slow to refresh/update. It still tells you that someone is online and you press on a profile and they were online 2 hours ago. Very slow to update when last online. Otherwise a good app👍😃

Great but some issues. Good but sometimes it will show the same text in 3-4 messages. Need to close and open to fix

Easy to use. I find the new scruff very use friendly I recommend it to all my straight Friends

Photo reviewers have lost the plot. Changes to Scruffs photo profile guidelines are being enforced to an extreme. Let’s use Facebook and Instagram as a benchmark for acceptable content; you can post a photo in your gym shorts or at the pool on these apps. On Scruff, you can’t do this without risking being reported. It’s toxic and undermines the app’s culture which was built upon openness. What’s worse is the enforcement is all over the place. You may be arbitrarily reported by other users, who can weaponise the reporting tools when they feel spurned. Stay away until scruff gets their act together.

app is full of fakes, druggies & escorts. this app is completely full of fakes, druggies & escorts but the scruff team do SFA about it what is worse is the scruff team bombard you with non stop advertisement daily subscription is way over priced & useless as ive used it before & saw no point in paying premium that was no use to me dont like the constant fakes, druggies & escorts either cause they always make a new account via a different email address or phone number anyways which defeats the purpose of blocking idiots on apps in the first place ive complained to scruff team non stop about someone using internet photos of guys especially male celebritites but scruff team still allows this to happen which is by law in all countries globally IDENTITY THEFT but scruff team dont care regardless all i can say is typical gays 🤭🤣

Needs a update to appear offline and message. I'm a paid member and it doesn't give a option to appear offline and still be able to message someone , going to cancel my subscription till you add this feature, Would give 5 stars as I think scruff is heaps better than Grindr if they add the option

Attitude. The support staff are horrible to the customers. I understand the need for photos to be G rated where they can be viewed by anyone, this is in contrast to photos intended only for private viewing. So how does it makes sense that photos I posted in the public album were constantly rejected for inappropriate content where similar photos to mine posted by others could be freely viewed. I resubmitted them and they were constantly rejected. Then they rejected my face pic. That is unwarranted bullying and intimidation. They must think they are omnipotent, but in reality they are a legend in their own mind. I deleted the profile. I don’t deserve that sort treatment and nor do you.

5 Stars. Great App, easy to use. There’s something about the quality of the men that use Scruff they just appear to be a whole lot friendlier and more responsive.

Access issues. It won’t let me get past a “connection issue” my internet is completely fine and I’ll test it and it will say it’s perfect so idk what’s up Also I’ve tried contacting support and no response whatsoever

Even worse than Grindr. This app is full of fake profiles, scammers and chatbots. The developers should be well aware of this, yet they do not seem to do anything about it. You only have a limited amount of blocks, which fosters an environment rife with spam and harassment. Profiles appear online when they aren’t and the free version only displays an extremely limited number of profiles. This isn’t great for Pro users either, because it also limits the amount of profiles that can contact you. Either improve the functionality for free users or make the whole thing subscription! This app, in its current form it’s rubbish.

Forced into push notifications. Had to delete the app 5 seconds after downloading it. There was no option to skip turning on notifications. Please fix this. I, like most users, obviously don’t want notifications. Forcing users with one option is not an ideal way to acquire customers. And yes, I know I could have turned it off on the settings. But that’s too much effort - please construct the app better.

Blocks. This app is almost perfect ! However one should be a paying user to block whom ever them wants, this is extremely annoying and creates a great environment for people to harass others. They constantly message, one message after another. Even if it is just “hi” having received 100 “hi”s from someone gets really really annoying. I have an idea for this problem; why can’t there be a “ghost” option that we can ghost people and never receive their messages giving them the impression that we receive their messages/videos/photos whatsoever.

Safe travels. I travel internationally constantly for work. I really like the travel advisory updates for each country I enter, letting me know the legality of my intentions as soon as a arrive and switch on.

Problem. Your app seems to only work for me on Wi-Fi but all of a sudden it doesn’t work on my cellular network. I don’t know how or why, I even deleted and reinstalled the app but it still doesn’t work on my data network compared to Wi-Fi. Please fix, thank you.

Good app, but “Hide” feature is missing something. I’ve chatted to many nice guys on this thing and built up some friendships from it. However there are certain people who I don’t particularly want to block, but still don’t want to see. Hide does a decent job. However, it’d be nice if we didn’t see when people we’ve hidden have looked at our profiles. I understand having them pop up when they send through a message, but most of the time these people just look at me and say nothing. Gets annoying to see them show up.

The clue of how good it is in the default search. I use apps like Scruff to hook up primarily for NSA hook ups. The fact that when you open the app it defaults to the global tab rather than the nearby tab regardless of your wishes shows me that it’s not serious about facilitating hook ups because there is almost a infinitesimally small chance of hooking up with someone that’s 15,000 km away. I really never have a wish to look at peoples profiles that I have no likely chance of hooking up with and the descriptions within the profiles need to be able to be more descriptive as regards to sexual position and role so that I can quickly determine if someone is going to be a match or not. Grindr has its many faults but scruff will always be number 2 to Grindr if it doesn’t think more about how users actually use these apps. Thank you insert app name here for your thoughtful, relevant and personalised response to my review. It gives me great confidence that someone has actually read my review and it will be considered in future development and the fact that the wording is exactly the same as you have responded with to so many other reviews doesn’t at all make sceptical that it was actually meant just for me.

Bad photo standards. To change your profile pic on Scruff you basically have to open a support ticket because almost everything gets rejected, for no reason. I’ve lost track of how many times myself and friends have had their pics rejected even though they’re wearing shorts, jeans, etc, uploading very suitable pics and not offensive at all. The whole photo approval process is beyond a joke and needs fixing.

Highly recommended. Downloaded multiple apps and this one was by far the best. Also has a great, user friendly interface.

Archaic Attitude. The pic approval rules are archaic and make no sense. Other similar apps on IOS have no problems with my pic so whats your problem? Change your attitude or your app will slowly become redundant. Theres no way i’ll be paying for this app whilst it’s under this current management.

Great app. Best value for money for paid usage . Great photo displays . Plenty of room to write detailed profile . Can create your own albums ( eg guys like me in my speedos ) or my suits .. so they are all there ready to send . Pictures upload easily . Just think they are a bit too restrictive with picture approval eg think underwear is fairly harmless but would recommend this to all gay guys . They also have picture verification , the o my app to show some concern. With security issues on these sites . Congratulations to the team at scruff , you are the leading gay dating app according to my good self lol

Ethnicity isn’t really optional. Actually ethnicity isn’t optional and the other optionals in your profile aren’t either. Black, White, Asian, Mixed Race etc. Why use a quasi-scientific system used by fascist regimes? There is only the Human Race, Homosapien. A chihuahua is not a different race of Canis Familiaris to a doberman. Shall we bring back terms like “half caste” and measure skulls to determine how mixed a mixed race person is? They aren’t optional because you must choose so you can unlock all the rest in your area. It’s bad enough that you have to choose a ridiculous “community” that are nothing more than another way to categorise each other. Not to mention the “chasers” who are I assume only interested in the hunt, or rainbows, or dreams. Fix it Scruff, you are only perpetuating stereotypes and cultural division, not helping the community to find each other.

New design is iffy. Havent fully experienced the new version yet, but not a fan of the bigger photos on the grid, i have a iphone 6s+ so they are quite big. Also, as ive seen someone else mention, the font seems squashed with the new layout. These things fixed will increase my rating :)

Photo rejection. Photos are repeatedly rejected for showing nudity while wearing pants with no suggestion in drawing attention to the groin area. Fix your lame third party moderation team because “Jeferson” or basic AI coding doesn’t know what it’s doing. Rejecting and then apologising for its mistake makes the whole experience tiresome and boring.

Limited blocking. The app is really good but I think that there shouldn’t be a limit on blocking for the base app. I get why there is a limit but l think that it does more hurt to limit the blocking for the people that need it than it would to make it unlimited and people abuse it. Idk if this made sense but ye

Latest update has location issues. I recently noticed a minor flaw regarding the “nearby” section on the latest Scruff update. It seems the profiles that are nearby are mostly offline. For an app that’s about hookups now, this is pretty lame as if there’s no one in the immediate vicinity that’s online now there’s no one to hook up with now. I don’t want to see the guys that were online 15 hours ago if I’m looking for a hook up tonight, lol...

What happened to scruff. I have used scruff for years and I have not been able to access it I go to find it in Apple apps and it’s no longer there. What is going on

Ground zero for Toxic Masculinity. The culture of this app has changed recently. In the past, it was a much more accepting and diverse place. Currently, seems to be all about narrow and very conservative concepts of male identity, desire and sexuality. This is partly about the community, but the developers also do play a role in influencing the types of interactions that occur on the app. Disappointing and retrograde.

Silly management. I’ve been suspended without any notice after updating a new photo so I requested to explain to me why I got suspended. They said because I look young like under age. I’m 39 years old. I updated a recent pic and I have been using this app since 7 years ago. it’s really stupid and annoying.

Feedback. I’m a bit disappointed that every year or so, Scruff makes it harder to get the full use of your application, especially when one is unemployed ☹️

Long term user. The app is great & it casts a wide net. I've enjoyed many decent hooks using this app, we reap what we sow.

Carefull. Much prefer the app in its early days. Too many updates , bring back the old settings like the Grid in recent pics .... also They could easily suspend profiles with no reason. Even after u had paid a full yearly memberships. Carefull gents. No refunds

My opinion. This app is fantastic amazing brilliant also wonderful outstanding 100 out 💯

Annoying log on glitch. There's a glitch on the login page - frequently I can enter my password. Only option is to delete the ap and reload it and hope the reloaded version allows me to actually login.

Very good App. Very good application, it is easy to connect with other men on here. (Just like the other dating apps, this app is pretty user friendly).

Great, user- friendly application. Love the new ‘verify your profile’ feature. I have been catfished so many times, so this adds to another level of security. Keep up the good work.

6 out of 10. The new version of this app is terrible Even though you chat to someone a week or two prior and the pics are publicly shared and not expiring, the pics won’t even show or load anymore so you can see the pics of who you were chatting to As a paid member- well below average rating

No longer with Scruff. I have iPhone 6 and cannot update to ios14 so looks like I have now left Scruff and when I do have money left over from the huge amount of unemployment benifits I am forced to be on due to Covid 19 I will remember them for what they did. Bye bye Scruff

App itself OK - the support is NOT!. App keeps demanding that I upgrade every time I use it .... BUT as Scruff team have now made the app incompatible with older operating systems by now only supporting iOS 11 (iPad 2 and others don't upgrade past iOS 9) ... this has become an annoying ritual of opening and closing App Store to use the app. WHY is it so difficult to upgrade INCLUSIVELY of existing OS as not everyone has the need/urge/finances to rush out and upgrade to the latest device .... when contacted about this issue the team response was a basic "tough luck princess"!

Fonts size. Hardly to read with fine print need to have the bald font will do like the last previous version.

Slow as.. It’s 2020 though this app can’t tell if someone has gone offline one or two hours ago as it likes to show more men online than there is I guess. A good app and allows easy communication when it’s up to speed. It’d be great if there was a button to get rid of the global guys.

Don’t get what you pay for. You can pay month after month after month and then let your subscription slip a month and all past conversations/images etc that you have paid for are ripped away. Surely anything paid for should remain while future penalties do apply? I feel what I have paid for has been taken away - refund me those months then please.

Discover Grid is terrible. The new update is terrible. Why remove global grid?! Makes no sense. The discovery grid just rehashes information that is available on other parts of the app. Hope you reverse this soon as you removed one of the best things of your app. The response I have received from your support is that the global grid appears in the discovery grid on occasion. It doesn’t.

Good app But. The only problem with this app and I find it really annoying is that a green light can stay on a profile even after the person has been off for over an hour. Grinder is so much more accurate. Can this be fixed.

Loving scruff. I have been using Scruff for years and find it easy to use, great functionality and user-friendly. Every upgrade gets better and better

Great, but limited search function. Scruff used to allow you to search by ethnicity. Jackd still allows you to search using it. Why is it not available on Scruff?

Every update you lose functions. This is a terrible thing to do to free users. Some people don’t pay for these apps but still Use them. The people who do pay, only pay because there’s so many users If you choke the free version that much, and every update you take away functions you’ll lose the free users then the users that pay I’m one on the free users leaving

Ridiculous. Scruff is a pretty decent app, but I’m giving it two stars because the photo standards are so ridiculous that it’s impossible to get photos approved. My last three photos have been rejected because one had another person in the photo, one had visible underwear (the top band only) and the third had visible letters “GU” on it. Giving up and going back to grindr.

Better atmosphere..but... Definitely prefer it over grindr. However you can only block limited amount of profiles. You have to unlock profiles in order to block more. Which leaves you open to harassment sometimes. Don’t like that the only way you can control that is if you pay for it. Disappointing and unsafe in my opinion.

Private Albums. Y’all gotta put the private albums back where they were. It made more sense when it was together on it’s own tab. Now you’ve added extra unnecessary steps and it’s very unintuitive. Whoever’s idea it was needs to be fired lol Also the app keeps marking messages as read when I haven’t opened them. Marginally better than Grindr but not by much

Favourites removed. Version 7 removed your favourites folders. Thanks for a lame and unnecessary update.

Bad update. Disappointed pro user here 😡. The last update made the app confusing and the buttons are reordered from the top and bottom of the screen. The explore button that no one needs is right under your thumb. Stop the madness scruff!! Know your users !

Mods. Are idiots, cant tell the difference between an overlay and a picture with something in the foreground. Mods can make an app great, or make it lame. I wont be using this app

Lots better than grinder. I like it for its ease to use and hookup with guys nearby or planning a travel with someone who is far and spend some good time with a hottie on cruz.

Cool guys and fun times all in one App❤️. Easy and raw for real men.

Latest version is missing “Done” button. I have had trouble updating profile text, until I realized the “Done” button is not visible in the upper right when entering text to profile. If I tap the screen where it should be visible, profile is saved, but this not obvious, and the “Done” is not visible.

Crashes all the time. Connection timeout due to server host is the common message with little to no solution on site to solve the issue. You guys need to do better especially with the customer service department

Love the app. So much better than Grindr , well done!

Not like those thief from grindr. Removing feature to make u pay 500$ a year to get very basic thing like answering message is not something you will find here … hope scruff will never go as low as this because i will just delete it from my phone like i did with grindr …. Love scruff 🐶

Too many restrictions. When compared to Grindr, this app is far too restrictive regarding features on their freemium level. You can’t block more than 150 profiles - good luck with that over a few months. Support their to just report the profile instead as a solution. They should I report someone when I just want to block, a free feature on literally every other dating app. Big detractor for privacy and safety Messages - you only see the last 10 or so messages and they disappear, great when it comes to security… Albums - even if someone sends you one, it doesn’t mean you can see it without Scruff making a profit off it at the user’s content Interface - I’ll grant them their UI is a bit better and appreciate that people are more thoughtful with their profiles

New Update. Like the looks of the new update but all my favourites are gone….. update sucks

❤️❤️. It’s where it’s at! Scruff beats out all other dating apps for LGBTQAIAR+ individuals looking for somethin…someone…or Love in all the Right places. You never know until you download the app and see for yourself. Two thumbs up Scruff!

Unique because of it’s privacy policy. I appreciate that the developers take privacy seriously and protect their users, as we are a much more vulnerable demographic around the world. The cherry on top is that the app is easy to use, stable, and intuitive.

Lots of local guys. I like the easy navigation, but they have limited access for non members

Nice features. I’m enjoying using scruff to chat and make new connections with guys that aren’t necessarily in my area. One big issue with the app is why does it have to constantly try to push Prep pills on me ? Full page ads and ads in my message inbox for these “once a day pill to stop yourself from getting hiv” it’s disgusting and happens every day I sign in.

Bad business. I recently received a message from scruff informing me that because I’ve over used the their free version of I will no longer be able to use it. If I wish to continue using scruff or my profile I will have to purchase a membership. I’ve yet to hear of this happening to anyone else but it may be a new policy they have, and just neglected to inform their users. Whatever the reason it’s wrong. Sadly there is nothing to be done,, except informing people to be careful they aren’t to popular on the free version or you to may be targeted.

Woof 🐺. Different vibe than Grindr. Less sketchy more rugged

Connection error. Hi I was using this app for a while and suddenly I can no longer connect even with data or wifi. Deleting the app has done nothing. Help please

Love the app, easy to use, great features. I’ve been using Scruff for many years. There is always a lot of hot guys. The interface is well thought out and easy to use. I especially like the travel features, you can indicate you have an upcoming trip and in advance make connections with guys. Ask questions to the guys you chat with for recommendations on where to stay, eat, gay hangout etc. I think the “match” feature is brilliant. You can indicate on each guys profile that you are interested in them and they can do the same if you both are interested the app lets you know which make connecting so much easier. Every gay, bi, trans male should download this app!

Recent update sucks. The recent update changed the chatting settings, for free users, and took away the ability to interact with more than a few people at a time. I had a 100% response rate to messages, because I know that everyone comes from different walks, and I remember what it was like when no one responded to me, when I was newer. But now I have 15 unread messages, that I’ll never be able to see, because it’s past the limits of the new threshold that’s been set. A major step backwards, for creating a global community. Now, if I don’t respond to someone, they will assume I am ignoring them, uninterested, or angry at them, Rather than think that the app itself, is the one severing connections.

Freezing. I like this site but it constantly freezes up and it sucks

Pretty good. One of the better dating/right now apps in my opinion. Barely any bots in my experience, but wish you could add multiple people as your partner for us poly folks.

Discover grid sucks. Bring back Global grid.

Stupid with pictures. Horrible for uploading pictures. Pictures have to be in a vertical manner so I took my horizontal pictures and added bars to the top and bottom so my picture properly fits, but it won’t let me upload with an “overlay” so either my pictures don’t fit the box properly and it looks stupid or I have no ability to add pictures. The box needs to change to be more accommodating or they need to allow you to make the changes necessary to fit the box with your picture

Total GARBAGE app. Don’t waste your time and money. App is full of spambots and fake profiles and don’t even bother to try reporting these profiles as the app doesn’t act on reports EVER. Pure garbage.

Can’t connect over 5G (429). Frequently having connection issues lately when on 5G. Please fix. “Connection limited to servers. Please wait a few seconds, and try again. (429)”

Scruf no longer accessible. The latest version has made scruff an accessible for those of us who use voiceover on iPhone. I am legally blind and have been using Scruff since 2017 with no issues. And now I can’t activate any of the tiles, browse to see who is nearby, review who has sent me a Woof, and many other functions no longer work either. Please fix.

“Go Pro” cash grab has gone too far. I was chatting with someone yesterday and comments from the beginning of the conversation were already “only available in Pro”. Photos older than a day also disappear into the Go Pro void. The Pro cash grab is over the top. I get having to pay for advanced features but just to be able to see comments from the same day?! This is not the case with Grindr, which offers a much better experience. It’s also a confusing process to setup, share and access your album and figure out which lock icon is to view someone else’s album versus your own. You also can no longer determine who you have woof’d in the past, which is frustrating.

It’s OK. The app layout is pretty decent, useability is relatively easy, nice format. Wouldn’t necessarily recommend to use for hook ups, but the app itself is a nice experience.

Faut connaître. Très bon site de rencontre on y trouve des mec intéressant

Revolting. Scruff constantly harasses its members to convert to Prep! Scruff is co-responsible for the slaughter of syphillis and hepatitis in the gay environment! Revolting!

Problem with the messages. The app says I have new messages, but when I refresh the tab, no new messages pop up. I need to find who sent the message by clicking on their profile and then the message in loaded. It’s making the app very inconvenient.

It’s not that great. While you can load more photos to your album, at least Grindr allows more than a G rated photo on your cover. Scruff seems to have issues with anyone OVER 45 showing bulge. They are very selective about skin showing. Some very discriminatory moderators

:(. New update makes the app unusable on my phone so now I can’t use it unless I buy a new $900 phone lol

New Discover tab is atrocious. I don’t like the new discover tab. I found the old one to be much better with a way better layout.

Nice update…. However the titles on top need to move to centre and not the left. For example, discover, nearby and search.

Just call it trans chaser. There’s more “straight” guys and trans on here than actual gay men. Stick to Grindr.

Way better stability than the other one…. Credit goes where credit’s due. Insofar this app hasn’t crashed completely (to the extent that I had to delete and reinstall from AppStore) not even once.

Scruff sucks. The amount of half naked, white, muscle queens i see on here in underwear with a semi is hilarious, but god forbid there’s an average body who is not white not wearing a shirt?! The photo is deemed too “sexual” and rejected 😂 f off

Choices best explored. The ability to read more of what a guy thinks, likes, and prefers, as well as dislike etc, is a big plus. Not just a picture and a morsel of information. Lots to read and choices to make

Messages getting hidden. Currently messages are getting pushed to an ‘unread’ section along with some profile tiles getting darkened. This results in folks missing/not seeing messaged and for an overall poor experience.

Bad update. Recent update removed the ability to view who looked at your profile unless you pay for a premium membership. Not a fan!

Discover tab is horrible. I’ve been a Scruff Pro subscriber for a very long time and this new update is making me rethink that. This new Discover that showing me things i can already go see in other parts of the app is ridiculous. The “Online” category pops up once in a while if you refresh the app often enough but still once you get into it you see a set number of people and it cant be refreshed to see a new batch of online people. The only good thing is the birthday category. But could care less to be told someone i woofed at 6 months ago has a new picture, since if i’m still talking to him, i’ll notice when i click his profile!! Now of these new categories make any sense. I might unsub until things come back to the way it was. VERY sad about this :(

New update. The new update sucks .makes it harder to browse what you like and forces groups that you don’t want . I think I’ll be deleting this app soon

so slow recently. ever since the thirst trap update, the app has been SO slow and buggy to the point where it slows down my entire phone if the app is running in the background

Not all inclusive. Support staff are judgmental and act like children. They are worst than straight people judging me Avoid app at all cost

Homophobic support team. Gay apps are no longer exclusive for gay men. The trans cult is invading our exclusive spaces and those virtual spaces that were supposedly to us, gay men, have turned into a circus of men pretending to be women and women pretending to be men. It is gross.

Scruff provides more value for your money than Grindr. I would definitely recommend scruff over Grindr

Registration. Fix it. It loops, it clears your answers, it forgets your pics. How am I supposed to make a profile????

What Happened to This App?. I used to really enjoy this app. Lots of quality guys, useful features, engaging conversations, etc. Overall, it was a good experience compared to most dating apps. Now it seems like there are less guys on here. I def don’t get as much exposure in the global grid as I once used to. I’ve also noticed with time features have been taken away. I know if I get a response it’ll be the generic “oh well we took them away because not many people were using them.” But I know that’s not true. Really sad for what’s become of this app.

Are your sensors blind?. I posted a face picture twice. Both times it was rejected with the following message: “This photo is in violation of our profile photo guidelines. Violation reason: No member visible”. First, it was a picture of my face. Though I am wearing glasses, it should be obvious that the face is of the same person on the other photos posted. Second, how is it possible that so many people have body shots with no faces approved since it is not otherwise possible to verify a member is visible?

Don’t post this. Don’t post that..... There is no consistency when it comes to photos being flagged or not approved. Those in the “Most Woofed” sections seem to get their pictures through unchecked even though there are some questionable/boarder line of breaking the Profile photo guidelines. What’s the deal? I’ve even been told, while trying to argue a photo of myself, if I see a picture that is questionable then it’s my job to flag it.🤦🏽‍♂️ But, that’s not my job....I’m not getting paid for it. I This app was great, and I love the new features of multiple photos in the profile and being able to watch clips....but needs to be more consistent. UPDATE And as expected the developers of the app claim to hold the same standard for ALL members. 🤦🏽‍♂️And how it’s the user’s responsibility to monitor other people’s profile pics. My new photo was rejected not because it was flagged by someone else....because my picture never made it that far. It was someone behind the scenes and I am aware of the guidelines because I have always followed them.

Terrible Functionality. I decided to pop back onto my account recently. As I logged in I discovered that the App blocks any access to profiles, as well as blocking me from disabling/editing my account whatsoever. I ensured I was on both the app and my phone’s latest versions. As well I tried this off and on a wifi network. Upon contacting support I got zero feedback over a few weeks time. After having been a former pro member this completely dissuaded me from ever utilizing the paid feature set again (as if I could actually access the account to do so). Furthermore, I tried creating a second account and it didn’t even retain my email address, thus there is another account that’s completely inaccessible. This app is a technical joke, as is its support base. Edit: and now the developer team responds and ignores the fact I already said I contacted support. A blanket statement reply used multiple times in these reviews that helps no one. Again, your team is a flat-out disappointment and not worth this time/effort.

Don’t waste your money. I have been using this app for years. The majority of the men are married, in open relationships or cheating on someone. I find multiple profiles with the same pictures across the US and report these but of course nothing is done. You will notice that some profiles are allowed to post pics that violate the photo policy but again when you report the infraction, nothing happens. I have had to go to support almost every time I post a new pic as the “moderator” denies the pic. Inconsistencies and discrimination with what pics are allowed. I have also found that the guys are not geographically friendly so woofing from a distance may get you negative replies.

Rich in features and functions for non Pro members???. Didn’t renew pro... now I can only see the first 15 albums shared..wanna message a favorite over500 miles away? Upgrade to Pro....Scruff is basically holding info hostage unless you upgrade to Pro. Want to send a pic you’ve sent before?? Hope it wasn’t more than 2 pics ago... Otherwise you’d better hope you still have it in your photos on phone....but you don’t. Want to save that photo you don’t have on your phone from a chat you’ve previously had?? Nada...can if you have Pro...otherwise screenshot and crop it....so I’m not sure where rich in features and functions come into play with non Pro members....

Going downhill. App used to be so much better. They keep removing features already paid for. Can no longer see who you’ve view or who you’ve woofed. Also as a paid pro subscriber (costing a small fortune), I also get adds all the time under the messages section. Scruff is always trying to sell me some pill of some type. 2-3 advertisements every day and as a paid subscriber I was under the impression there were no ads. They have also removed features and filters and the direction of the app is concerning. I’ve contacted support regarding my concerns so we shall see what they have to say.

Their tech support is the best.. I am a legally blind man. And was having trouble using certain buttons on the Scruff app. I sent a inquiry into Scruff tech-support and they fixed it so I could use it. It is making my experience with Scruff so much better. I would suggest this app to anyone. Besides it is the best app. Not only for blind people that use the voiceover program but for anybody that is out there looking for a great community of men.

Wish I could disable global feature. When I first started using it, I thought it was cool looking at profiles of other men around the world. But after you get lots of messages from men 5000 miles away, you realize how worthless it is. Please allow me to opt out of having my profile on the global page. And it shouldn’t be the first page to display; nearby should be first, since it is the most relevant.

Great app, trash diversity. Scruff is great if you are a white, hyper masculine gay. Anything else? Good luck! Besides other complaints of racist profile picture screening that I myself experienced, this app does nothing but reinforce the worst parts of the gay community (racism, femme shaming, body shaming, transphobia). I was told this app was more accepting and overall friendlier and safer than Grindr, but after using it I laugh at the comparison. The app itself is easy to use, discreet and well-designed, but until Scruff can diversify and ACTUALLY contribute something to making the LGBTQ community an accepting place, I won’t be using it. 👎🏼

Better user experience than Grindr. Generally a more masc scene than Grindr but that’s not the only reason I prefer it. The user experience is far better than Grindr. The ads are reasonable, not intrusive, and actually relevant. I have never had a problem with spambots or phishing like Grindr has. My only suggestion would be to lift the limit on total blocks, even if you have to limit it per day like Grindr does. I’ve reached my limit because there is no shortage of guys who can’t take a hint or even explicit rejection.

Pretty much useless anymore. This app has steadily gone downhill. The app is updated regularly, and certain features will disappear along with the updates. Even the best full featured dating apps are useless if the user base is lacking. Scrolling through the limited selection one can view in the free version rarely brings up any profile that’s worth pursuing. Therefore how would one justify a monthly fee just to have better features while the disappointing results remain? You would have more catches if the bait was better. Instead, the developers think the subscriber base will increase if they remove features and put them behind a pay wall. In reality, the overall user base declines because there’s nothing left to keep users interested. MAKE THE APP BETTER AND FEATURES AVAILABLE, then perhaps the user base will be more robust and willing to pay for PREMIUM features (rather than required to pay for basic functionality)

Needs Improvement. This app is a great idea! I’ve met several cool dudes on here, but encounter the same problems over and over. The private album feature needs updated. It’s silly to ask users to pay money to see others’ picture which they do not own! I’ve also encountered too many creeps and predators on this app. Typically I block them and move on. However, the app creators decided it would be a good idea to limit the amount of users that can be blocked? Unfortunately I might have to delete the app as I am not able to protect myself from predators due to this silly money-grabbing limitation. They should be careful.. sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen.

Best gay dating app there is!. One idea/suggestion: Can you guys make a feature where two people can link their accounts so that they can talk to all the same people but still have different profiles? Right now my boyfriend and I share one account but it’s hard for people to tell who is talking to them. I want the freedom of my own account but the flexibility to chat in groups. Besides my above idea, the app is amazing. It’s way more than sex. I have made solid friendships.

Discrimination! Possible racism.. I have experienced extreme discrimination with regards to the “guidelines and policies” for an appropriate profile picture. My picture was removed because I was in swim shorts. However I have noticed that many other users have not been flagged or asked to remove their more revealing picture. As a test, I screenshot and used a revealing picture (more than mine) of another user, just to see if I was being treated with prejudice. His picture got approved!! I am very disappointed with you all... I need to understand why some can keep their revealing profile pictures and others can’t. Perhaps there’s a some racism behind this??? If so, legal matters may have to take place. I look forward to hearing some kind of response..

Needs improvement. I put 2 stars because the app is way to hungry for money. You take a photo with the app you cannot save it unless you pay, you want to save chats and read old chats? You need to pay. You get sent a bunch of photos? You can only see a few unless you pay money. You can’t store more than 2 photos unless you pay money. If it would ease up on a few of those the app would be hands down up the Grindr level of users. But how much it costs just for things that should be a necessity makes the app very unenjoyable.

Latest update = Fail. Woke up to a brand new looking scruff Somethings good most things bad… The font is ridiculous I need glasses just to read a profile! Prior to the update I was able to go to the Messages area and simply read messages without having to click on someone’s profile. Now I HAVE to go to the profile just to read the message! If you’re trying to avoid communications with someone, and just read their message… You no longer can! Suggestions of the developer: when doing a major upgrade why don’t you offer a tutorial option for users especially those of us who paid the premium!!

I'm sure it's great if you like to be catfished!. This thing is full of scammers. I can't even tell you how many times it's happened on this app. Of course, if you report someone for doing this, your account will get suspended for no good reason. They, also, block your conversation after a few sentences if you don't pay a lot of money for their membership. So, that's pretty ridiculous. I'm not even sure how the algorithm works, but I know guys that have this that don't show up when standing right beside me. I get the same guys that I find unattractive on there all the time on the "nearby" feed. It's useless. Don't get it. Don't pay for it! It's a huge scam.

Update. Update: Okay, I'm actually very happy with the changes and updates they've made over the last year (since my last review). The app is more reliable, and they fixed some in-app glitches and difficulties reported by their customers and users. I'm happy to hear they were responsive and sensitive to the scruff community. :) Original post: The most recent update added hurdles upon hurdles and has made navigating the app tiresome. I've always loved Scruff, but I have no idea what these folks were thinking with this update.

Thank you for patching a privacy hole. I stopped using this app for a while when I figured out that users who were not signed-in could see my full profile. It made the block list almost pointless and offered a full view of active users with no accountability if you were signed out. Looks like the profiles are now hidden if you aren’t signed in after this recent update. Lurkers are more restricted. Thank you 🙌🏼

Went downhill after redesigns —. What happened here? No QA, UI or UX testing??? • Functionally has gone downhill!!! • For example, you dropped the ability to look at the person’s profile before or after looking at a received shared album. • And where’s the filtering to remove numerous profiles with no-picture profiles?? • There’s a ridiculous pop-up that stays in the way wanting me to upgrade. !! No thanks!! “now I remember why I deleted my ten-year old profile”. • Not enough for my money. • No quality. • Too many incomplete and fake profiles. You once had it— Not anymore.

Better than Grindr. I was on Grindr for years but they have become an app to advertise silly games and products to gay men, along with other problems. The guys I met and talked to on Scruff are kind and honest. Actually more respectful. I do have a few concerns, there are mostly white and older guys on here which is fine but I would like to see more men around my age. My biggest complaint is that a shirtless pic gets flagged but I see other profiles with much more scandalous pics. I don’t understand it.

Audio alerts need to be improved!. There has never been audio alerts when you receive a “WOOF” or when someone unlocks their pics for you. I have reported this to the admins NUMEROUS times but they don’t seem interested in fixing this bug/issue. They blame my device saying I don’t have audio alerts enabled when I do! They obviously don’t have the app coded correctly and need to look into the problem instead of ignoring it. I have the same issue on my iPad as I do on my iPhone. PLEASE ADDRESS THESE ISSUES!!! UPDATE 6/7/19: The new pricing for Pro is RIDICULOUS! Are they trying to outdo Grindr’s outrageous pricing? If so, they just knocked it out of the park!

Great APP!!. I have used 4 other APPs because I am new to dating today. Everything SCRUFF advertises is true. The capability to filter, select different cities and countries is just amazing. The site is as we use it. I have used it to meet guys and determine if we have chemistry. Not a hook up, just for sex, but measure compatibility. Again, the site is a tool, how you use it determines its value! No other site I have used has been as beneficial and accurate!

Like the upgrade. The new photo options are great. The only thing that’s weird is the photo slide direction changes when viewing the profile or viewing the full image it’s a tad weird. Maybe keep them the same direction? Also, I wish there was an easier way to select multiple messages and delete them if you want to clear your inbox out a bit. Other than that it’s a good app. Functions better than Grindr for sure.

So slick!. If u r into guys that know what they want, then this is the app for u. No games, easy to get what u want in a dating/hook up and it makes for identifying ur likes and dislikes a no brainer. I would like to Recommend a filter to show who u have chatted with as soon as they show up in proximity. Like an Astrich or a star so u remember when they pop up that u already had a Conversation befoe u have to select their pic again to see if u have chatted already. Some don’t remember as well s others, even with the favorites star feature

I don’t recommend. The app is easy to use .. but unlike Grindr, Scruff only gives you so much access unless you pay 120$ a year, everything is blocked off unless you pay, you can’t keep a photo album unless you pay, if a guy sends you his photo album you can’t see his pics unless you pay, you can’t look back on conversations unless you pay, they make you fill out a complete profile to get to see more guys unless you pay then you can see unlimited, it’s kinda lame actually.. I was bummed because a friend told me to switch from regular Grindr to Scruff and it was a big disappointment.

kinda creepy. they’ve recently “improved” the format, so now instead of seeing a range of guys worldwide you’re confronted with guys who viewed you, guys you woofed at or guys who woofed at you - it’s incredibly creepy. why would someone want to be confronted with every guy who approached them, or who they approached who then blew them off, every time - is that supposed to be fun? you can block the real creepers from that list, but it eats up your 200 blocks fast - and sure, yes, you could just ignore that the app leads off with guys who stalked you and guys who blew you off, but they could also add a way to disable this “feature” - they could give guys the option of not opening the app to “guys who never got back to you” and “guys who are stalking you”, maybe just lead off with the “eye candy you can’t have 6000 miles away” section instead. other than dredging up bad memories every time you open it the app is pretty great, and you sure can’t beat the price

It’s ok. I like the app but the issue is that I have is I have one person who is repeatedly messaging me and I’ve asked them to stop on numerous occasions and they even have two profiles, which I’ve repeatedly reported but nothing seems to be done. This person is still constantly messaging me and I can’t block him because I don’t have pro and quite frankly I’m not going to pay for pro if I’m constantly being harassed by another person. If I report this person then something should be done.

Please allow copy/paste in order to translate. The app does not allow you to copy text you receive from other users. This would be extremely helpful when chatting with men with whom you do not speak a common language because it would allow you to quickly copy their messages, and paste them to a translation app. Instead, you must try and type their messages which is very tedious. Allowing greater ease to translate would make sense on an app which is meant to meet men from all over the world.

New discover is lame.. One of the great things that distinguished Scruff from its competitors was the global grid and most wooded. The new discover screen is much worse: even though you can bring back the global grid, it doesn’t update as much (you can refresh multiple time and it’s the same guys), the most woofed only comes up occasionally, and instead I get mostly guys I already woofed at or already matched with (what’s “discovery” about that? I can already access that in other parts of the app) or guys that are “new” but are offline so who knows if and when they check the app. This is a significant downgrade.

Would like a “keep awake feature”. There r a few things I’d change with this app. It’s not terrible but there a couple things that are extremely irksome one of which is that it goes dim if you don’t touch for 20 seconds. This may sound small but after a while it can be a little maddening to me. Also, if someone blocks you but said something very cruel before they did, the app won’t delete the message after they’ve blocked you. It will come up in your messages so you have to read it and feel bad and then by the time you want to stand up for yourself you can’t haha. It’s just a cruel little thing I wish they’d change. People can be so mean.

Okay…. Well whatever the weird issues it was having before have gone away for the most part. But it still has issues with alerts within the app, not showing woofs or unlocked icon illuminated when there’s new stuff, and sometimes message alerts are wonky. For some reason they all require me to refresh the page twice to make it work. I’ve never been a fan of the “who you woof’d at” section or who you viewed, but didn’t message, section lol. Like why…. “Here’s all the guys that didn’t want you! Also here’s all the guys you weren’t interested in!” very not useful from my perspective.

Good user interface, good community. The greatest appeal to Scruff for me is it’s community. it can be hard to form relationships on dating apps, but I have managed to make good friendships and relationships on this app. It’s a great tool when traveling to meet new people as well as a means to connect with familiar faces in your home city. I find the interface and user experience of the app to be enjoyable (I pay for ScruffPro). Scruff is much better than Grindr.

Overpriced and poor selection. Stopped using this app because they are excessively restrictive with the profile photos they allow. It is also designed to be unusable without a paid subscription, the result of which is that this app will always have fewer users. Grindr works better without a subscription which means means that Grindr has a much larger selection. Grindr moderators and customer support are also far superior to this app. If you want a much smaller selection of guys to choose from and moderators that take down every photo you post, then this app is for you. Big thumbs down.

Awful. I have used this app on and off so I wanted to use it to try and meet someone and I get asked my pronouns the app now allows cis woman on a gay dating app lol. My experience on the app has kind of always been horrible this deleting it so often. Usually just a lot of guys who want to hook up and them flake and lie constantly or will block you out of the blue for no apparent reason. Don’t use this app especially if you’re gay and want something more substantial than a random hook up. The app and it’s users exploit the loneliness and depression of gay men and create an unsafe environment by allowing straight users to join and abuse the app.

Non paying customers. I’m not clear why “non-paying” customers receive less and less services, a “back of the bus treatment” when it is the non- paying customers that are subjected to most adds...ostensibly one of the BIG sources of income for Scruff. I understand why one wants more paying customers but the imbalance is notable since you need them both as streams of income. Or do the paying customers receive just as many adds??? If not, then you could show a bit more appreciation and treat all customers equitably. It was not always that way with Scruff. Just a thought/suggestion.

If you can’t get “it” here, you won’t get it anywhere.. The app is great, it’s more about the persons profile, if you have are rude or discriminate in ur bio like no fats no fems or other artist crap or no guys over blah blah age, stuff like that, people block you right away, even if u are cute, no one wants to hook up with a jerk, just sayin lol and please people add pics that actually look like you from this century lol crappy pics or no pics or old pics, will ensure you have a bad experience :/ so be smart be kind be honest and you will get all the nookie or love you can handle! Have fun

Need to adjust options. Love the app because it offers a variety of ways to modify and individualize your personal profile and because the majority of users are courteous and friendly. However, they need to complete certain features. For example, the app lets you state that you are in a polyamorous relationship. However, it does not let you link up to more than one partner... You would think that if the category of polyamorous is available, then someone at Scruff would have thought that enabling more than partner would be a rational profile option to include. I sent them a message about it but received a general thank you response to my submission... twice now. I hope that in the future they actually put into action some of the suggestions from users to improve the quality of the interactions one can have using their social platform. Scruff has been quite innovative. Listening to feedback would only help them improve the product.

Wrongful suspension. This app has contributed to people’s inability to distinguish what is socially appropriate. Men will constantly send you nude pictures without your consent and when it’s reported nothing has been done about it in my experience. A lot of individuals using the app do not know boundaries and will harass you if you don’t provide nudity, provide “meetups”, or if you don’t unlock your photos. I was recently suspended for an advertisement joke on my profile whereas the people who brutally harass you and then block you get away with it because you no longer have access to their profile to report them. Go to a bar instead. Not worth the time you spend on these apps.

Scruff vs Grindr. Scruff- Pro- I noticed with Scruff that the app works VERY well. Smooth, never crashes, and the functionality of the entire app is amazing. I haven’t experienced any issues with it. Cons: I don’t like how the majority of the app has “older” guys. I’m 23 years old and I am not interested in 40-50 year olds messaging me. Secondly, I don’t like that you don’t have any flexibility with filtering the “age”of the guys you wanna talk too. You NEED to have the “pro” version compared to Grindr you don’t. I’ve been using Grindr more than Scruff because of those major reasons for me. I wish Scruff will have some flexibility with adding more features for the “free” version. Comparing the two, I would still choose Grindr over Scruff any day.

Hope. I hope that I can answer each sentence alone like what happened in WhatsApp and also to know the exact time for the messages and to improve the accuracy of the time when I am not online or others because it seems to be online in after two minutes which showed that he is off-line since 30 minutes I’m sorry for elongation.

I love Scruff!. I absolutely love scruff, it’s literally the only app that works for me and what I’m looking for. I have some pretty kinky fetishes and some of the other apps ban me for no reason, never had a problem with scruff. The app always works well, I don’t really ever feel judged, the users are generally more laid back and open minded, scruff support is super helpful and nice, just all around a fantastic app. Absolutely love the new pretty colors on the launch screen for when you open the app too! Nice update Scruff! 💙

Bs app. My profile photo was removed for no apparent reason (literally just a picture of my face) when there are dozens of other profiles of men in underwear or violating other reasonable photo guidelines. Only reason given was “other”. As far as the app itself, most features are only available to paid members. You can only see very few nearby profiles and only see the last few messages of your conversation threads. The album feature is nearly unusable unless you’re willing to shell out $15 bucks a month. The app is very useful for seeing the 20 closest headless torsos. I won’t be wasting any more of my time on here and would advise you don’t either.

I like Scruff for the most part except. There are people that I REALLY do not want to talk to on there for various reasons. I hate that Scruff only allows you to block a certain amount of people unless you upgrade to Pro. Even grindr allows you to block unlimited people, although they have it so that you can only block a certain amount each day (still a significant amount of blocks). I could understand if Scruff controlled the amount of blocks that way, but to not be able to block anyone ever again at all after just a few blocks is setting them up for failure. If there’s one reason that I delete this app that’s why...

Don’t change something that’s not broken. I don’t understand what the developers of this app are doing. This app was really good up until a few months ago and all of the sudden the developers started removing features that made the app stand out from others. No you can’t view the people you just viewed, the tab for the messaging button is in a different place and changed the whole layout of how your messages are displayed. Why would you change the layout almost every month? Just doesn’t make sense. You had a good run scruff. I will stop paying for Scruff Pro as this app has just been going downhill for no reason.

Highly recommended. I have been a paying member since 2017, and I highly recommend Scruff. It’s a pleasure to use both visually and in conversation with other users. The texting format is easy to use, and I especially appreciate being able to store pictures and videos in folders that are labeled and easy to access. it’s one of the few apps which I am willing to pay full price.

Options and Consent. This app allows for the full understanding of options that I think people actually do respond to. The ability to write a comprehensive profile, to let people know of interest, to share social media platforms, and the ease with which to share photos (of any nature) has been streamlined. I do wish certain features were more available in the free version of Scruff, but alas it is a profiteering company, slave to capitalism as many of us are. Kudos, Scruff, for providing the services you do.

App design makes it impossible to delete ad chats. This app is getting so greedy and frustrating. I understand that the need for advertising to keep things free for many, but when the x button in the chat button is so small it makes it frustrating to delete them - which results in the ad opening many times. If as an able-bodied person it’s this difficult, I can’t imagine people with disabilities have to go through just to connect with people on the app. Please reconsider this. Especially if you’re making the clear unread messages option a paid feature.

bluffing advertising to become Pro,. Did the developer know about there advertisement page to become in Pro, that’s stick on the screen and cannot be removed, until I have to cancel all the app. and download it again, and write again the email password, etc,, and then there no way to go to Pro, this happened many times, and with long experience on my iPhone, I tried different time to inform you about it but no body answer, and still this promotion coming and no one care if this offer serious or just bluffing, let us know how to applicat this promotion without sticky way, and be clear to show the way to activate it. for that in my review give just one star, until you resolve this problem seriously.
