- Love this app, I live off it! Collections are inspired!

My favorite app. I use it every day. Update to recent post for your most recent upgrade to your app. I absolutely love the fact that I can put books into collections. I think it’s probably one of the greatest improvements to the app up to date! So thank you!! Having said that after a bunch of updates a changes they've changed many things that make it not as fun to work with or use. I literally live off this app, because I'm fully disabled and it's the only way I can make it through the day without going insane 99% of the time. Please forget this new clip thing. Why would anyone want that? Go back to general bookmarks. And every single time you do a drastic update like this, I loose all of my books that are not downloaded to my device for like a week. This is getting ridiculous. I shouldn't loose my books every time you update! So once again I only have 25 books, and I have to figure out how to get back 225ish books, unless you guys do another update and I miraculously get them back or I loose them again after I've just gotten them back. Please fix all these errors. And maybe, just maybe, you should send surveys out to ALL of your customers to see if they even want this crazy stuff you think we do before you change our perfectly acceptable bookmarks to clips. Or if you want to keep both for heavens sake make them separate. They are too incongruent to keep together.

- Sometimes you really need to tap into the human experience

When was the last time that you had a good story read aloud to you? There is something very different about the experience of hearing a good bedtime story, a radio play, a moving speech, a heartfelt song or a well delivered theatrical (even when “comedic”) monologue. The human voice is a marvel. It communicates deeply and moves you, excites you or stimulates your curiosity in ways that other mediums may not. Audible is invaluable not only for serious book lovers, but for commuters, insomniacs, ADD readers and students of all sorts as well. Audible has enabled me to enjoy countless classics, fantasies, well told tales and non fiction works that I have neither the time nor the attention span to read as text. Sometimes I find myself unable to start, continue reading or finish a book that I know I really should be reading. This app (along with the amazing voice actors who only their trade through it) has saved my life, bolstered my spirit, enriched my mind and put me to sleep on many an anxiety ridden night. Sometimes a well read book is the only thing that can rescue me from the unrelenting jukebox of my own mind. And sometimes another person’s insights or experiences are just what I need in order to connect and to expand upon who I am or who I want to be. What a gift .

- ABSOLUTELY LOVE-please fix sleep timer

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE my audible app!! I’m an avid listener & overall have not had any issues. Once I purchase a book it automatically (within seconds) appears in my library for download which is EXCELLENT transition time. My only minor complaint is when I use the sleep timer and turn it off BEFORE the time has run out, it ALWAYS goes to sleep 2 minutes after I turn OFF the timer. I turn off the timer because I want to continue listening without sleep timer on. Yes I know TWO minute is minor issue but can be very annoying waiting for story to stop in 2mins so I can restart play! So would appreciate the fix in next update. My thought on new update is a way to arrange our library. Right now they’re arranged by purchase date until you listen& then it’s most recent listen. I would love ability to separate by author, type, book series etx. Something like that would be great for finding old favorites. EVEN BETTER IDEA...if you could develop an alert to let readers know when there is a NEW BOOK RELEASE IN SERIES we already own! When you have large library it’s hard to remember what books your waiting on the next in series! Would DEFINITELY increase my already long list of purchases. Overall GREAT JOB! I RECOMMEND ALL THE TIME! Just fix the 2mins turn off glitch when I turn OFF timer (before it runs out) & please consider library organization ideas!

- Better and better- not perfect

This app gets better and better but it isn't perfect. The app has great features and a few clunky ones. More good ones than it used to have. They are being improved over time. All in all, I'm happy with my experience. I can return books I didn't like if they are returned within 6 months. I don't read (listen to) them that quickly. I buy faster than I listen to them. Some times I finish them and the "finished" indication doesn't stay associated with the book through app revisions. Not Cool! The stories included in the titles are often well done but some presentations need serious rework - not many - but the choice for presenter could sometimes be improved. I've listened to a couple dozen different presenters by now ( a couple hundred books ). If those that were "flat" could be trained or replaced with more skilled people a lot of the stories would be better but, sometimes the story is the problem and that is a shame. It becomes easier to tell the difference between problems in story and presentation as you hear more of each. The short samples offered before you buy are most helpful ( at least to me ) only after my ear has become trained by listening to a goodly number of books by many presenters.

- Can’t wait to get my hands on her next!

This was one of those books that you not only savor, but you swap between physical and audio because you can’t get enough. The setting was perfect, the characters were hilarious, and the depth was just right. You follow Marin as she takes on a role she never thought she would be in.. PR and media manager for a rock band. But she not only crushes the position, she gains a crush on a band member. You follow along with the band and crew as they make their way all over the country on tour. You see them banter, you see them prank and you see them fall in love.. or lust. I usually have something to knit pick about whether it’s lack of charter build or creating an atmosphere you feel a part of, but Lisa did nothing for me to knit pick. This world was so well thought out, I can’t wait to dive into every single book I have of hers and also... I really need a prequel to see how Craig and Phoebe started. The only reason I gave this book a 4 rather then a solid 5 was I had a bit of a rough time with the big problem and how quickly it seemed to be resolved, I wish it would have been a little longer and we got to see more effort and what happened to.. patch things up on all accounts. I’m a girl who doesn’t trust easily and loses trust quickly so I have a hard with any story that someone’s forgiven too quickly.

- Audible Books

I’ve been a member on/off for many years. You pay a monthly/annual fee and get credits based on your subscription. The fee you pay is often less than the price of most audiobooks. You can pay for the book or use a credit. There are lots of reviews, some are fake but most seem to be genuine. I like that you can hear a 3-5 minute sample before purchasing. I have gotten credits refunded for books I was unhappy with, (books I didn't listen to completely). Customer service has been great. I had to discontinue membership for a while and lost nothing during the time I canceled my membership. I kept the credits I already had and all of the books I had in my library. Starting my membership again was easy. I do wish that reviewers would add ore detail instead of simply saying ”I like the book”. That’s not a review. Why do you like/dislike the book? Was it clean, full of profanity, sex, violence? Was this book fit for the whole family? Did the story flow, was the narrator easy to listen to; did they have an annoying voice, were the characters voices distinguishable? That’s a review! A review is meant to help other customers decide if they want to purchase the book or not.

- Rising out of hatred

An amazing account of personal transformation. I too grew up with a racist father, surrounded by all of the rhetoric in this community. Awful. I love the courage it took for Roland-Derek to challenge his indoctrination and to find the strength to cut ties with beloved community, even family. That is the hardest part. For real. He said there is guilt in the interviews I’ve seen of his regarding what he helped create. Well, that was happening anyway. The good he has created through his total honesty, vulnerability and accountability - and willingness to speak publicly about it - stands taller and provides more light than any darkness the white nationalist... movement could ever create. He is a light bearer, and it is especially powerful and illuminating BECAUSE of his history. Roland-Derek provides an example of someone to challenge and think for himself within a fear-based, constraining movement. My hat is forever off to this gentleman, a man of TRUE wisdom and bravery while surviving the very human heartbreak of leaving a beloved community that no longer serves. He and Alison are putting their lives on the line by speaking out. I am grateful to Eli for penning this book, and all the others willing to allow their names into this story. Your courage and truth DEEPLY inspires me.

- I Love Audible...But...

I’ve had Audible for nearly 5 years. I started as a way to help me get back to reading since physically reading was somewhat limited by reality. But now when I walk my dogs, run errands, go to the work related matters, drive for a long road trip, ride my bicycle, or even work in the kitchen, I always make sure to have books to listen to. My library has at least 300 by now, and I love seeing it grow. I also love the whisper sync for Kindle which lets me read or listen. I also love the integration with my Alexa devices. I can go from room to room without wasting my phone battery, and have her keep reading to me. Here are my only two recommendations:1- this is the most important. Please for the love of all that is holy let us organize our books by subject matter/ category or whatever we call it like we can in Kindle! I need to do this on my PHONE as I cannot scroll through the ALL my books to find old books I’ve forgotten are even there. I need to put them by category. Please please please do this most basic thing for your subscribers. 2- please have more whisper sync and more affordable ways to purchase kindle after purchasing the audible. Thank you.

- Incredibly helpful and easy to use ap!

I am so impressed with this ap! I had caved on one of the ads for this ap on fb and saw that they had a free trial with two free books so I decided to try it. I listened to part of one book and then haven’t had much time to listen since and actually kinda forgot about it. I received an e mail today from audible which reminded me I needed to cancel my trial before being charged bc I wasn’t ready to pay the monthly subscription just yet and unlike most apps I found the customer service for this company was incredible! Right under settings in the ap lists a phone number and easy access to ur subscription information. I called the number to find out where I was in my trial and was impressed with how quickly they answered and told me I still had a few weeks left and she could cancel it now or I could enjoy the rest of it and call back to cancel the day before. She also returned the book I originally ordered bc I wasn’t that into it and now I have my two free book credits left! I highly recommend this ap to anyone bc of its easy to use settings, outstanding customer support, and wide section of books available! Great Job audible!

- Disappointed with App Change

I’ve been an avid member for I’m thinking at least a decade and I just discovered that you have removed all my reading statistics and levels of accomplishment in the app. Naturally I won’t quit but I loved that aspect of the app and it gave me a continued sense of achievement and accomplishment. Please return this feature it means so much to me or show or tell me where you moved it to. Thanks for listening. I have now discovered that my review above is not exactly correct the statistics are still there. However, because I had two accounts, recently consolidated into one the one I have remaining shows me as having achieved scholar while in fact I have long since passed Master level. That bothers me greatly. May seem a small issue to but not I. Also, what’s the level above Master as when your records are updated I will surpass that easily. Even if you don’t make the update I will still obliterate Master level and there must be others. Anyway once I hear from you I will update to 5 stars. Finally, I wish you would find a way where I can find and purchase books inside the App if apple don’t like it so what, just buy them out and make a better policy.

- Loses my place

I love listening to books and have been enjoying that there are so many available on audibles. I keep encountering problems though...I prefer to listen at 1.25 speed and it reverts back to 1.0 with every pause. I’ve learned I must bookmark frequently because I will undoubtedly be at the beginning of a book no matter where it left off (it divides books into fours and each of the 4 has chapters 1-11 or so, so book 2 has chapters 1-11 too instead of 12-21 making it close to impossible to figure out where you are...at minimum very time consuming.) and have to listen to recognize whether or not I’ve been there yet. Also, I’ve learned to listen to what chapter the narrator names just so I will be able to find my soon to be lost place in the event that the bookmark too fails. The version of the app that comes up on my iPhone quickly doesn’t have bookmarks, so I have to hit the home button, find the actual app and only there can I reset the speed and set the bookmark or retrieve a bookmark. I find the most frustrating thing is that it keeps returning to the beginning of the “book” I was in instead of the place in the chapter.

- Bring back option to hide finished titles, for 5 Stars.

I’ve been an audible member for about 20 years ( whenever the service started). I have well over 1000 titles in my library (most purchase, prior to new system, with free titles). I occasionally listen to portions of one book, before switching over to another (especially, when a desired preorder becomes available). Previously, it was easy to locate books that I needed to return to, by hiding all finished titles. Since the new system was unveiled, this has been reversed. I don’t quite understand the utility of being able to see all titles in your library that you have already completed. Showing titles that you haven’t started is if some use, but it fails to show anything that even has a few seconds played. So if I accidentally tap on the wrong title and get past “This is Audible”, prior to going back and selecting the title I actually want, it will no longer show up as not started. EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING!!! Please fix this for your most loyal members!!! A secondary improvement would be to extend the Apple Watch Complication, so that it will permit control / book selection of titles on your paired iPhone, rather than having to download the book to your watch.

- Don’t fix what worked!

I don’t know why they decided to change the app, but they did. Before, the library section (which is the content I have via the app) was pretty well organized and could be perfectly navigated between what was actually on my device and what wasn’t. Now it’s a mess of a screen with huge empty margins taking most of the space (a recent addition to mobile development that I don’t understand because I though the point was to USE the space as effectively as possible) and the scrolling is WAY to floaty (I only have to barely have to have my finger on the screen and it’ll move) Now, honestly Audible is a little to expensive of a subscription service for my taste. They only give you 1 credit at a time and STILL treat their service more like a rental than actual ownership (so I don’t know why they don’t move to a “unlimited” model subscription and stop acting like their credits actually mean anything) I already had bad experiences with the service in the past with the service, but decided to try to give it another shot. I don’t think I’ll give them anymore past this. The quality of the app is quickly going downhill (besides what I already mentioned above I also keep getting warning messages about being on a slow connection when my internet is just fine) and there are now MUCH more better services around that handle audiobooks better than they do.

- This should be a 5-star review-30 second rewind gone

Unfortunately recent updates of the app changed what was an elegant solution to an important feature to one that doesn’t work at all. In past versions Audible app had a feature that quickly allowed you to change the rewind or advance buttons from ones that rewound to the beginning or ends of a chapter to one that changed the buttons to rewound or advance 30 seconds only. Even better you could tap these buttons multiple times and, for example, quickly replay a short passage you need to hear again. The most recent updates killed this value-added feature and made it so you have to swipe backwards and forwards an indeterminate time. This feature is value taken away! I am an avid listener and have purchased almost 600 books from Audible. The content and some of the narration are excellent. I hope they pay attention to their frequent listeners and fix their clunky new software versions to the great tools they had until recent releases. It is frustrating when an app you use regularly changes from excellent to mediocre.

- Love Audible books but... the app could be better.

🎉 It did improve when the sleep timer was restored to the main page. Thank you! The purchasing feature is clumsy and annoying to use. It is difficult to find books from any for sale list. On my phone, the wish list and lists of books offered in different special categories are in a series of brief “pages” and to get to the end one of a long list must go through each page to the bottom in order to turn to the next segment. If you stop mid-list it is necessary to start over. GRRR! Also, no chance to go to a given page directly. As a result, I have no idea what is on the last 80% of my wish list or special offer lists or book category lists: takes too much time to peruse them all at one sitting or skip back page by page. A minor change in the last update I find annoying: when a book is finished, a persistent popup page makes it not possible to go back or go to different book without rating the one just completed. Previously one could opt out of the popup rating page. I normally rate books but do not always wish to do so. I have found a way out of it but it’s also annoying to have to do this extra step. On my iPad I can close the app completely and when I return to it rating demand is gone.

- Enroll In Drive-time U

I absolutely love audible! Rarely do I listen to music any longer because I always have an audiobook on the go. In my case, almost everything I listen to is related to business or personal development and it is such a good way to stay engaged in my continual growth and education. Having said that, the vast majority of my listening time comes solely while I’m driving, time that I would have otherwise wasted. What an incredible way to work on yourself, your goals, and your aspirations without having to take additional time out of your busy day to sit down and read. I have also started using audible as a means of filtering the books I am willing to read as I tend to be the write in the margins, take notes, and underline kind of guy while reading, and that’s just a time consuming effort. Now rather than going through that process with a book that I don’t find to be quite as beneficial, I am able to listen to more and filter out only those which are going to be the best so I can focus my reading/study material on only that which will be the most beneficial and applicable to me at the time.

- Continues to get worse

This app is suffering from iTunes-itis as it tries to incorporate features that detract from its central purpose, which is storing and playing back audiobooks. It is getting bloated and slow, and harder and harder to navigate. The app always tries to phone home even before playing a fully downloaded boom, ostensibly to check whether you've listened to the book elsewhere and to synchronize. On the handful of occasions I've actually used that misbegotten feature, no syncing actually occurred--so the effect is that I'm now continually waiting for the app to let me start playing my audiobook all to enable a broken feature that I don't even want. Solid design work, gang. The useless "Home" tab has been joined by an equally useless "Discover" page. There's no way to adjust recommendations, so if you listen to a lot of audiobooks in one genre your recommendations will rapidly become clogged with third- and fourth-tier efforts from within that genre--and nothing else. The developers, having saddled the app with a bunch of gameified achievements, have thoughtfully buried them in the settings menu, where at least they're out of the way, though presumably they're still contributing to the app's slowness. Too bad there's not a way to get an app that just does the basics this one is supposed to cover.

- Mobile Version Fantastic

I really like like the fact that I can download Audible books using my iPhone. It used to be you had to download a book to your desktop or laptop, load it into iTunes and then sync my iPod with my MacBook. I was admitted to the hospital from my doctor's office through emergency. I couldn't go home and pick up my MacBook and iPod. I was so surprised and very happy to find the Audible mobile app in the Apple App Store. I was able to download books to listen to. It took my mind off being stuck in the hospital and after years of living on the road for work I’ve come to find listening to an audiobook to block out annoying sounds. I want to add another great feature I’ve found. This mobile app not only knows which books I already have in my library it also knows which book is next in the series for books that are in a series. Update: At some point the Apple Watch app was dropped so I can no longer control the volume and skip forward and backward on my watch while the audio book is playing on my MacBook, iPad or iPhone. I’d really like to see thes feature added back.

- Updated review.

Still great. Still no Audible for Apple Watch! I really hope you will provide this great service on Apple Watch! Please make an Audible app for Apple Watch there are some nice improvements, but I can't focus on them as long as my chief gripe isn't addressed. At the very least, please tell your loyal customers whether you are trying to do this--or if you are even considering it. Audible is one of the apps I use out often. I bought an Apple watch so I could listen to audiobooks while walking my dog and could leave my iPhone at home sometimes. I have seen some work-arounds, but so far have not been able to listen to audiobooks on my watch. Audible doesn't show any inclination to develop an Apple watch app. I have asked. I guess I will try purchasing an audio book from iTunes, and see if that works. If it does (which I am not optimistic about) I might have to make my walking purchases from iTunes instead of Audible. I wouldn't like to ditch my Audible account to completely, as I love it. The hundreds of dollars I have spent on Audible books proves that. But I disappointed at this apparent indifference to the requests of Audible's most loyal customers.

- New bugs cropping up recently

This app used to be great. Recently though, whenever I try to use it, there are annoying lags in responsiveness. I press play and it won’t play for 10 seconds. Or I try to view my cloud library and have to wait a few seconds before the app will switch from device view to cloud. The Bluetooth connection has also become glitchy, especially when connected to my car system - I press pause on my car’s screen and it takes a few seconds to pause, then starts again, then finally pauses, over the course of another 5 seconds. The app also no longer responds if I try to control play with my phone while it’s connected to my cars bluetooth (at least, it didn’t today). Lastly, if I’m in the library tab and want to look up info on a downloaded book, I can’t just tap the three dots at the right hand side of the book without the book starting to play. This is annoying if I’m currently listening to something (or talking to someone on the phone - the book still starts playing!) and want to look up info on a book. I’ve been using this app for a few years, and this is the first time I’ve really been frustrated with it. Until now, it’s mostly operated smoothly.

- Really nice way to hack my life

I started using Audible a month or two ago when I realized that there are significant blocks of time in my life that I am not using as well as I would like. Specifically, the time I spend driving or exercising constitutes up to two hours per day that are necessary but not very intellectually stimulating. I had been listening to music when I exercised, and then it dawned on me that I could just as easily listen to audiobooks. There are any number of books I want to read but don’t because I have a hard time getting to them. Audible has helped solve that problem for me. Initially I thought listening rather than reading would be an inferior experience, but in fact after listening to a few books I’m finding that my attention and retention are comparable. Whenever possible I try to co-purchase the audio book with a Kindle version so I can switch between reading and listening. I think Kindle’s “whispersync” system for switching back and forth could be improved, but I can live with it. Overall I’ve been really pleased with the Audible experience.

- Best app I have, but can’t transfer from my iPhone or iPad to my Watch

I’ve been an Audible member for over 15 years (well before being merged w/Amazon). It’s my favorite App and I use it more than any other. I have ADHD and LOVE to read but get stuck trying to read traditional books and retain the story or information. With Audible I’ve averaged almost 5 books per month with each book’s average length of about 11hrs. Here’s the big “but”. I have Audible Apps on my iPhones, iPads and MacBook but it won’t relay to either of my two watches. I get unnecessary Apps like JetBlue but no Audible. If anyone knows what I can do to fix this I would be grateful. Being able to listen to Audiobooks without my iPhone nearby would be incredibly useful but I just cannot figure out why it won’t show up on my list of Apps on my Watches. Despite my Watch problem I give this App my highest recommendation. This goes especially for my brothers and sisters that suffer from ADHD, impaired vision or other maladies that makes tradition reading difficult or impossible. It’s an awesome subscription service and App especially if you’re more successful than me in getting it on your Apple Watch.

- Useless and rude customer service

I loved the app until I upgraded my phone. (iphone XR)The app wouldn’t let me play back anything. I called and they attempted to help me troubleshoot the problem. It’s the app not the phone. Nothing worked so they had to create a ticket. They told me it would take up to five days to hear back from the back office team. Five days seem like a lot. I used this app daily. The next day I called back to see if someone else could help me. He looked at the ticket and told me the full details of my issue weren’t even on the file. We updated the ticket tried to help me troubleshoot still no results.7 days later still no call back. So I called again and was given answers like “I don’t know when they’ll call you” or “I don’t know, maybe” when I asked to speak to someone else because this gentleman did not have any answers for me his reply was “why do you want speak to someone else”. I had to hang up because he wouldn’t let me talk to anyone else. I purchased over $50 in credits before this happened. I canceled the morning that fees but let’s see how that goes.

- Most used app I have aside from gps

Love this app so much. Had it for years and does not disappoint. Thank you for being here, existing and being in my life. Such a great idea and concept. Sorry it took me so long to rate this amazing app! Get it, you won’t regret it, so many wonderful title and books and not over priced! Update: This is still a great app but it needs to be said that the home tab is waaay too much noise visually speaking. Way too many suggestions and advertised books for an app. It’s not a clean look and honestly it’s ugly. The app needs a more sleek minimalist feel for ease of use. I literally get anxiety seeing the homepage with all the extra books recommendations, catalogues and so forth. When I use the app I just want to get to the point not be defaulted to a crazy looking page foot of book images. Please higher someone to update your app comestically. With the IOS update people are discovering less is more with widgets and less apps. Try to use that same concept, I want to see recommendations make it the last tab not the first. Have the first tab be the library and instead of a line chart of books maybe give the option of line display or chart display, just something more sleek please.

- Gratitude for audio books

I’m very grateful for audiobooks. As a child I struggled with reading. I always had difficulties and shame because I didn’t read as fast as other children and found it difficult to retain the information I read. I would have to re-read sentences, passages, pages, and chapters because I would read the words but not formulate a picture or the information being imparted. I disliked and refused to read book up into a young adult. As an adult reading books has become significantly easier, but I still struggle with speed reading and retaining the information. Time has also become very limited in which to sit, or lay down and pick up a book and read. I find myself able to listen to audiobooks while getting ready in the morning for work, driving to and from locations, doing daily activities while at home or running errands, and getting ready for bed. Without audio books I could have never gone through the multitude of books which impart so much knowledge and stories to enchant the mind. Thank you Audible

- This is what you've been looking for...

This catalogue will provide the reader an intelligence level briefing that you will need to logically evaluate the current data coming from the Pentagon as well as the "New Age" folks. You will also find this useful if you've been lucky enough to have seen them yourself, because you will find that it has been reported by someone else in the past. This may aid in putting your sighting in context because we all know you can't let it go. All the craft classes are catalogued here, allowing the reader can begin to find patterns in history or geography. Don't mind the negative reviews, the author is quoting the most reputable researchers in addition to his own research. The greatest contribution of this work is the neatly organized fashion of data points allowing a picture to emerge. You can interpret the data yourself. The author does not inject analysis except for the last chapter. But even that is musing on possibilities. You will have a fuller picture of the phenomenon after listening or reading this work and isn't that what your after?

- Love Audible but there are some snags with the app

I have hundreds of Audible books and I am a huge fan. This is my review of the app, however, and it needs some work. There are real issues with the sync feature. It doesn’t sync well with my kindle books; it certainly isn’t seamless and usually ends up just not doing it at all. Not sure the “whisper technology” even truly exists. I often buy the same book in multiple formats and shift between audio and print depending on where I am. The app doesn’t download my new books once purchased at times, but not always. It also doesn’t, and has never removed Kindle Unlimited titles I’ve borrowed and returned. They remain indefinitely, but give an error message if opened. I frequently have to completely delete the app and reinstall it. When I do that, all becomes well in my world and everything is in its place. But I don’t have any other apps that require that. I expect after years of using this app, and generations of updates, that these things would be fixed.

- Clunky & buggy. Borrow from your library instead!

UPDATE: Since I last reviewed this app, they’ve made it even worse by dropping the navigate 30-second forward/back control from the primary playback screen. Instead, you can only jump forward/back by one whole chapter at a time. If you missed something and want to go back by 30-seconds, you have to minimize the primary playback screen and try to locate the tiny icon at the bottom of your library menu. So aggravating! Come on, Audible...you can do better! Previous review: This App is not nearly as good as the Overdrive App which I use to listen to books I’ve borrowed from the library. Do yourself a favor: save money & aggravation and borrow your audiobooks online from your local library. Audible’s App cannot skip forward/back 30 sec. from your phone’s lock screen. You have to unlock your phone to do this. After you’ve used the App for a while, the 30-sec skip function totally disappears and you can only skip one chapter forward/back. Then you have to reboot. Another bug which appears after you’ve used the app for an hour or two is that it kicks you forward a chapter if you stop the play for a moment or two & try to resume. Reboot again.

- Audible App

I enjoy having almost any book I’d like at the touch of my fingertips. Especially when a really great book is coming to a close and I’m mid drive or in the middle of the night and I’m unable to jump in the car and run off and grab another book. However, it’s is unfortunate you cannot buy books from the comfort of your app. It’s also uneasy to navigate the app. Functionality needs simplified and the search capability in the app needs attention. I was given a subscription to The Wall Street Journal when I became a member, which I love! However, it often does not update to the current dates read and is impossible to search in the app. I also like to save some of the free “podcast” type offerings Audible provides with your membership, but again, you cannot always access from your app as they randomly disappear. I’m forced to login to the full site, but even then locating “podcasts” (not purchased books) saved is a challenge. None of this would deter me from using audible as I love to read but spend a lot of time commuting in my car and audible allows me the opportunity to enjoy more books than I could otherwise. Though i do hope they progress the usability of their app sooner rather than later.

- What the actual F&@$...

Used audio books before and it’s great. HOWEVER, for some messed up reason the first topics that are suggested are the following: Economic History of Racism, Raising an Antiracist and Poetry of black healing. Mind you these are topics with multiple literatures within each topic. Stop shoving this down people’s throats. Go express your guilt somewhere else in private. It’s clear you have guilt pent up and should probably seek help. For the rest of us, we wanted to use this app to simply read our favorite book to us (which I highly doubt has anything to do with racism). I mean, why don’t you have a bunch of topics on the front page about healthy eating. Far more people are negatively impacted by poor eating habits than racism. How about books on “not becoming child molester”? Clearly sex trafficking minors/children is a larger problem than racism and deserves a topic above the rest. Instead of going on and on, I believe I have made my case. Leave your personal opinions at home and make the app more like a business or library. Customer “walks in” - for lack of a better term - and goes to a genre or topic of their choosing. I don’t need multiple banners and flyers to guide me to a topic that you feel guilty about in your personal life.

Love the app. , their deals are spectacular, the books are at a proper price, and I think the only thing I really had trouble with was transferring the books to my computer. But; I think they're a little laxed on their security protocols. I had been paying with my credit card. This is also the only thing I was using was said certain credit card. And it just so happens this is the only credit card that somebody was trying to steal. They need to think about accepting PayPal. Or beefing up their security. The main thing they need to do I think it’ll make it so that you can put books in the order that you would actually read what you collect. so many of the title’s i like so many numbers to target which goes in which order. my favorites The iron Druid it self is a wonderful and creative. It makes you think about all of the myths you've heard stories. Not many folks make me smile or laugh. But this is one of the few. Almost, but not quite; a rival to Jim butcher's Dresden files. He brings his characters to life, truly. His explanation of magic is very thought out in that direction best series going.

- Amazing!!!

At first I was in a debate on getting the audible monthly subscription but after using audible everyday it’s totally worth it. If you love books or just don’t have the time to read books but want to, then get audible!!! I love reading books but between school and work it’s hard to have the time to sit and read. Since I’ve got audible everyday I listen to it between classes and at work! I love audible, as of right now I’m listening to the Harry Potter series. Everytime I have to pause the book I get upset bc I just want to know what happens next. If you are too sure about the monthly subscription try the free month. If you don’t get done with that book after the first month or you aren’t into it cancel it. But if you get through the first book and you dig it keep it! Yeah it’s $15 a month but that beats paying $30 everytime you want a book! You get a new credit after each month and you get any book you want to listen too for that month. It’s totally worth it so give it a try!

- Bad service, worse customer service

Spent 30+ minutes on the phone with super annoying and rude first customer service rep to cancel a subscription that I hated but couldn't find a way to cancel on my own. ( csr said to send pix cuz I should've been able to but it may be a website issue ) She had to transfer me because she was incapable of helping me. I ended up with a refund from the next gentleman which is nice but, was not my goal, the acct is still active for some reason and they are not capable of deleting my acct because I cannot remember my old address zip, since I gave them like four tries and googled the old address, it must be mistyped in the system when I entered it. I verified every other part of my account including my card information and they still could not assist me to delete the acct. I have many recurring service fees from other companies and have had dealings with their customer services and I can honestly and truly say please do not waste your money on this garbage company, keep it and go buy a real book, order one that doesn't sound like a wet blanket is reading it, and that you can cancel and have control over your membership and charges as well as not waste your time dealing with incompetent customer service that will not help you.

- Updates added and removed features

I really like the layout from recent updates and the ability to buy from my wishlist -in fact I like viewing my wishlist on the app better than on the website now. However, I don’t understand why the option to jump back or ahead 30 sec has disappeared from the main screen when playing a book and are only available in the driving and button free options. I use it frequently when trying to quickly find the last spot I remember when falling asleep and quickly tapping the book cover to bring that option up is faster than pulling up either of those options where it still exists. I’d also like to amplify the request to be able to sort by book category and author. I know I can search by author, but a quick sorting by author would also be nice. I can also type book categories in the search engine and it kind works, but it doesn’t work well. As an example, searching for biography will pull up Harry Potter and A Darker Shade of Magic (also fantasy) so it doesn’t work really well.

- 4⭐️ instead of 5 due to recent updates

I am a user of long standing, 2004, with over 1300 books. I agree that updates for “behind the scenes” fixes are great but why mess with the small details. Why reduce the size of the book artwork? It is so small on my phone it is impossible to read without magnification. This has left the controls larger. Why, when you already have car mode which shows large controls? I like to know how much time is left in the book without having to move around in the app. Now you can only see time to the end of the chapter. Maybe you could have this as a selection like you do for the amount of rewind time you want. I also miss the tap on the artwork to be able to quickly go back or forward to the beginning or end of the chapter. I do not like when the recommendation part of the app shows me items I have already purchased or have no interest in. I use the sleep timer everyday and like this feature. All in all I love the app.

- Fix Apple Watch Sync Please!!

Love the app, been using it for years. However, the long anticipated Apple Watch app falls a long ways short. It takes forever to load a book (about an hour for standard size book), but once it completes the download, it plays perfectly. But then the trouble starts. The next time you return to the Watch app, the latest play position has been lost. I’ve seen it both return to the position when I first loaded the book on the watch, and also to the very beginning of the book. Either is extremely frustrating as you're left with scrambling around trying to find where you left off. Going to the app on the phone, restarting, syncing play position, tried them all and nothing corrects the loss of play position on the watch. Audible, please fix this. The app is so close to my favorite on my phone that this is more than a disappointment. Apple Watch Series 4, iPhone X, both with latest iOS and Audible app versions (as of today).

- What is up with this version of the app

Ok, so Audible is seriously my favorite app for IPhone but something is up with this latest version. The screen freezes for around 5-6 seconds whenever you first start the app, when the lock screen goes black: it stops playing the audio, these are bugs can be reproduced. Also, the app just crashes at random, this as far as I can tell, is not reproducible. Another issue is when you force quit the app, it doesn’t actually quit so you have to force quit it twice for the app to refresh. I don’t see any other recent poor reviews in the store so I’m not sure if I’m in an experiment or what but you are seriously messing with my intake of audio books and I’m really sad. Please look into these issues and send out a new version, I love Audible and would like to continue to love it! As soon as the problems are fixed, I promise to return my five star review that has sat in the App Store for the past five years. Help me Obi Wan Kenobi, you’re my only hope!

- So many Jewels Dropped

I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I wanted to see how he would deliver Corporate from Streets and this BOOK! I mean it delivered on every level his insight and realistic views that matched were so much more valuable. The information on his personal level by being transparent translated his experience with friendships, relationships and interactions with his children, etc. There were so many relatable characteristics that’s are relatable to transferable information he dropped so much wisdom and I’m so appreciative of those who are willing to be vulnerable regardless of what and how much scrutiny he loves and lives in his own truth. He really opened up allowing ne the reader to understand his method of madness that created success!! This book was so good and I’m at a lost for words which is why I’ll listen to it over and over, but you just gotta get the book and read it for yourself. He dropped so many amazing JEWELS! Thank you FIFTY for reminding me HOOD ain’t gotta be all bad and CORPORATE is attainable! Thank you!!

- New Format

I love audible, but the new format for the app is pretty terrible. There are four menus, and three of them are specifically for advertising other titles you may or may not want, yet nowhere is there a menu for the wish list of titles you know for sure you want to spend money on. It makes no sense. And to try to listen to books already in your library has been made unnecessarily complicated. If you have a really long list of titles and want to re-listen to a book, finding it is almost impossible because the search feature is super buggy. On the off chance the developers are looking for improvement suggestions, how about making the Home menu an actual workable dashboard instead of the mess it is now and replacing the Originals menu with the wish list from the desktop version? Put it under Discover if it needs to be anywhere. And please go back to the way the library used to work. You only need to focus on two things for the Library menu: finding what I’ve bought and playing what I’ve downloaded. That’s it. Leave all the annoying “discoverables” for its own menu. The way it is now is so frustrating.

- (Another) Terrible, awful, horrible update!

Well, after all the complaints the last time the numbskulls responsible for this App made major revisions, one would have thought they would learn from their mistakes… But NO, they’ve gone and made the App harder to SEE due to a kind of washed-out interface, and harder to use by hiding common features (sleep timer, for example) behind additional clicks/taps! Also, having to tap the center of the screen to switch between (x number of seconds) rewind/FF and chapter rewind/FF is completely non-intuitive and cumbersome. Just put ALL the important controls on the freaking screen and leave them there! If you insist on hiding these features by default at least make an option to turn them back on for those who want them. As a general rule of thumb, upgrades and updates should: a) Make software EASIER to use and/or b) ADD features or make existing features easier to access. This is a step backwards in both areas and thus deserves no more than one star. Please fire the app designers and hire people who know what they are doing. And now the current version won’t stop nagging me to rate it. So only 2 stars just for that.

- Keeps cutting out

I have used this app for several years and with two different model iPhones paired with two different apple watches. The app just stops playing and loses connection for no reason. This is disconcerting when connected by Bluetooth in the car, but I can usually recover it from the car screen. It is, however, completely unacceptable when running with my phone in an armband (using either a wired or Bluetooth headset). I have to stop running and recover the playback from the phone through the armband. I don’t know if the phone is receiving a different signal or running a different process when this happens, but it has forced me to download books into Apple’s inadequate books app, which at least doesn’t stop working periodically. The app also doesn’t respond adequately to Siri. The Apple Watch app extension is a joke. An audiobook that played 5 minutes before suddenly just disappears, and the watch app cleverly tells me I can download a book using the phone app - which usually crashes before completing the download. When it does work, it doesn’t sync with your reading position on the phone. Stick to the Apple Books app on the iPhone, and hope they add a working extension for the watch!

- Audible for Watch 1 Star otherwise 5

Audible for iPhone is great. But I also use my Apple Watch. The watch app is horrible. It’s nearly impossible to get a book synced to the watch. The iPhone app sit in perpetual preparing to sync. On the very rare occasion that it happens to sync, it works well unless interrupted by a phone call. Once the call is over you must go back to the watch’s app which still thinks it’s playing and tap the pause/play twice. 1 to go to pause and a second time to get it playing again. When you tell the phone’s app to remove the book from the watch it won’t tell you when it’s done until you pull down to refresh your library. Then you go back to the watch and the book is still there. I’ve even tried to delete the watch app and reinstall it and the book still sits perpetually in preparing to sync. Come on people! Get this fixed. I gave it a two simply because the watch app is so terrible and the phone’s app does not sync well.

- Not a fan of the new look

I’ve been an Audible member from longer than I can remember and the years when the app was simple were good years, however over the last few years the app gets more complicated to use because they keep cramming new features in the app that I’ll never use. And yet they keep cramming stuff in there and the app requires a degree in Computer Science to decode it. I’ve invested a lot of money in buying these books to have them lost in an app that’s trying to do too much. Re: the loss of the 30 sec forward/back. They didn’t get rid of it, they just made it an either/or. If you go in settings, under player, you can either choose chapter or 30 sec. You can’t have both anymore. I wish you would make an Audible Classic app that just had the library and the player and left out the other stuff that I don’t use or at least provide a setting to simplify the app. I hope you would care about your customers who have spent a lot of money over the years to put out a product that is easy to navigate. That would be the right thing to do!

- I am a long-time Audible addict!!!

I’ve been using Audible for years and I absolutely love it! It’s my escape, entertainment and my preferred way to read books. I started using Audible when I was working nights running sleep studies at the hospital. I had to be in front of a computer watching my patients vitals, etc all night so I couldn’t look down and read a book. I’d put in one earbud while I worked and was able to do my job while listening. I’m no longer working nights but I am still a complete Audible addict. Good narrators bring the book to life and you can pop in earbuds while doing mundane tasks such as housework! I also listen while commuting in traffic. My commuter is an hour to two hours depending on the day of week and Audible is what keeps me sane all those miles and when stuck in bumper to bumper traffic. I also listen when falling asleep. It helps me lose focus on trying to hurry and fall asleep so I will get enough ZZzz’s before the morning alarm goes off and literally helps my insomnia!! I guess trying to stay awake to hear another chapter keeps me from watching the clock and worrying about anything and puts me straight to sleep! I’ve tried free local library audio platforms and hate them!!! I can never get the book I want and I don’t even bother with them anymore. (Too much trouble without many choices)! Audible is my escape, my entertainment and I highly recommend trying it for yourself! You won’t be sorry. Cheers!

- Narcassistic Wife

This book helped me understand how and why my wife never loved me. It helped me understand why she filed fake protective orders on me as she identified as a malicious narcissist. I identified what I has to do with my son and get him help with a counselor that specialized in narcissistic parental abuse and I am currently seeking her help. The chapter on marriage was incredible as I found out after 18 years of marriage that I had been her fifth husband without even knowing. The other chapter that was extremely helpful was about court and how to deal with her in court and in hearings. I could not believe that this book showed me and talked about things I had personally been through with my abuser. It gave me a sense of justification for my feeling after I had been told for years that I had the problem and nobody would ever love me again and that I would die alone. Thank you so much for taking the time to write this as it made me feel like I was normal and the ways I have felt were justified.

- Learned about out from TWIT programs yrs ago. Love it.

Hands down the very best, the only way to listen to audio books. For some of us it’s the only way we’re able to read for various reasons from concentration or another disability. Wow! I love it. I can get out of here at last and go of into those stories like never before. At least that’s how it is for me. Beside the greatness of many authors, many have readers they stick with who can capture your mind with their ability to project the characters, their emotions and what they see. Terrific! I may read-listen to a book a month. Rarely two. Sometimes 3-4 a year. I would not be reading half as many, nor would I have used the little time I’ve had time to read many of the books I have now really enjoyed. For me, audible gave me back the thrill of a great book, the easy way to learn difficult concepts by re-reading, easy tools to set bookmarks or capture a paragraph and so much more. I have difficulty sleeping. My mind is always running scenarios or figuring out problems. First I set a fresh bookmark. Then I use the convenient timer and set it for 30 mins. Then it’s simply getting swept away and drifting off to sleep, like in a dream. At my next reading opportunity I can easily find the last thing I remember hearing and start again from there. I’m often asleep in under 10-15 mins. Try it for 3 months. Find a coupon by some podcast that supports r wait for a deal like now. Enjoy!

- Here is what needs fixed.

1. There is no way to view a book series in your library. When I finish a book in a series offer to queue up the next one if I own it already or offer to add it to the wish list if not, also an options to view the series when finishing a book would be helpful as sometimes people want to skip the in-between filler books. 2. After the last update the app no longer remembers the screen it was left at and instead goes to a nearly fullscreen advertisement for a book I’ve already read and spins while trying to refresh something, so annoying especially considered that you can NOT buy new books from the ios app that means that 99% of the time I open the app it is to listen to a book I own not search for more books. (The other 1% is to look up a book I own to recommend it to someone else) 3. The app randomly stops playing a book while running in background, then I have to dig out my phone, unlock, launch the app, be annoyed by the advertisements for books I already own, wait for the refresh switch to the now playing section and hit play again.

- Membership

I have made a number of Audible purchases and like them and have a membership. Audible has value in bring us a broad array of books under the framework of Amazon/Kindle. However their direct concern for customers limits the trust that should be theirs. The membership while a great feature loses its respect when a membership account exceeds their defined number of credits or limit or ceiling. They then it appears choose to just continue to take money from the customer for the membership bank while removing one paid credit when no purchase is made. The customer looses. This “if” correct appears to damage the Audible credibility. They could more easily handle this and maintain respect if they choose to notify the customer no more money would be automatically charged to their credit card until the membership credits were reduced. But if the above “ is true” ? Greed seems to win out over customer respect. Sad.

- Great content available but hard to access

Audible is a good app but I can't buy books in the app and I find it awkward to do it - they need to have in app purchases so I can go straight into my next book - or even better it needs to go to more of a streaming style so I can confidently jump to the next book asap and share with my family! Right now I inevitably finish a book, can't buy a new one so go do something else then forget to buy it and don't come back to audible for awhile after. Also I find the recommendations not very good, I want to be able to find books more intuitively. I don't find normal genres as useful, I want to know what influencial people are reading. I want to find the most listened to books that month, I want to know how many times people didn't finish the book, I want to find book lists from local book clubs and share my own lists... The app doesn't do much to keep me in it unless I am in the middle of a good book. They definitely need a team of designers to start thinking about what the user experience actually could be beyond the confines of improving what currently exists.

- Hate new App front page

Audible app is definately in my top 5 apps I go for on a daily basis on my iPhone and iPad. First thing when I get in the car I select my latest book to listen to. When I'm at my desk I set my phone on it's dock and continue 'reading' while I work and the same goes when I'm cooking. I use this more than iTunes nowadays. It isn't perfect - I don't download to my phone anymore because usually I get an error message after it's downloaded the first 5-10% of a book, and then just stops - nothing will get a download past the first 10% no matter how I tweak the settings. So now I just download to my Mac and drop it into iTunes, to load up when I sync next. It's a bit of a nuisance but.... This never used to happen, just since 2 or 3 revisions ago. I can live with the inconvenience though. What I couldn't live without now is the App itself - it's so convenient to listen to a book rather than have to give a book your whole attention as with a paper book or eBook - although I read plenty of them too.

- More credits

I have been using audible for nearly a year now and I can say it has without a doubt opened my mind up to another universe that I hadn’t known about til now, I highly recommend it to anyone who loves books but either doesn’t have the time to physically read them or even has issues concentrating on reading print like myself. This app has changed my life I recommend it to all of my friends regularly and with the subscription you get a new book each month. One suggestion I would have for the makers is possibly adding an option to buy credits in bulk for cheaper prices, sometimes I want to read a new series of books but find myself not wanting to waste credits/$15 on books between 5-10 hours as I can finish that in a day or so, if I had the option to buy more in one go I wouldn’t find myself skipping series that have shorter books at the beginning. Aside from that it’s basically flawless in my eyes, keep up the good work guys!

- Game changer for parents of young children who miss reading!

A huge, and long-standing user of Audible. I used to love reading, turning pages in silence and becoming engrossed in whatever I was reading. Since having a child my reading time has become far more sporadic and often subject to endless interruptions. So I adapted. I listed to wonderful books while I drive around, do the shopping or while cooking. This app is easy to use, reliable and allows me to listen to the same book on several devices. I even have the choice to re-read from a different spot on my iPhone without losing my current place on the iPad if I feel like refreshing a different chapter. I wish all books were automatically created as Audible options. I highly recommend the monthly subscription option. It helps to remind me to keep reading and to make time for at least one new book a month. Great way to make time for yourself again.

- Super handy, love it except for...

Really not a fan of the new library storage system. I switch between my and my husband’s accounts regularly and it used to be if I downloaded an audiobook but switched to the other account I could still access the downloaded audiobook, but it no longer does. Mine and my husbands accounts are very intermingled: books for both of us, times we wanted a book but had no credits so bought it with the other’s account. Also because we’ve both been members for years we have 100+ books each so we have to scroll and scroll and scroll only to realize the book is on the other account. Please go back to the old way it was much easier for families like ours. On the upsides though the app is quick, simple to use, never fails to remember where I'm up to(which is super handy when reading epic fantasy) and the sound quality is exemplary. Very pleased with it and will stick with Audible for the foreseeable future (tho I'd love a fix for my downloading issue ;p )

- Great learning resource and entertaining

I’ve used audible for about 3 years. In that time I have greatly expanded my knowledge base on a number of topics while doing menial tasks such as driving, tending to the yard and even while at work. With an extensive range of topics and multiple books on each, it’s easy to find something informative and interesting. I’ve never had a problem returning a book that I had not been satisfied with, even if I had listened to most or all of it. There is also nearly an endless selection of fiction books narrated by some excellent narrators. The way the narrators bring characters and situations to life is very impressive. (My favourite being R.C.Bray) If you haven’t listened to a story told by a good narrator before I’d highly recommend it. I’m very satisfied with audible, for the amount of education/entertainment I receive from an audiobook it’s very good value for money.

- Love love love

I have read and reread “Yes Please” many times, but l loved listening to this audiobook so, so much. I highly recommend it to anyone, at literally any stage in their life (but, maybe 17+). As a twenty-something, this book is was an absolute gift. Hearing Amy’s story with such honesty, her humility and grace, positivity and compassion is something that cannot be compared and the lessons in these chapters are important and, for a young person, quite profound. I know that it’s the kind of book I can come back to in my 30s and 40s and still take away something important. And yes, I did listen to it in my car. But also on my way to work, on my way home from work, and whenever I needed to step away discreetly for a while. And honestly, there was no better way to spend my time than by getting a pep talk or dose of reality from Amy Poehler, in amy Poehler’s voice. I loved it. Thank you, Amy.

- I love Audible

I love Audible! Listening to Audible books allows me the freedom to do all the boring things I do, while being entertained in the process. My jobs are made less onerous with the distraction of stories by the amazing storyteller’s writings of other people, worlds, places, & times. The reading of the books are brought to life through the wonderful voices of modern day bards. I was introduced to Audible by a friend many years ago who shared a book with me; that I had already read. The reader was so great that it brought a whole new dimension to the book for me; allowing me to sink into the story & deepen my imagining of the words of the writer. I have been hooked ever since. I invested in the monthly subscription straight away - it is the most user friendly & cost effective way to listen to Audible. I have never looked back!

- Must Read for all who seek

This is quite simply one of the best most confronting and horrific books I have ever read. I have averaged a book a fortnight for several years and this stands in the top few. If you are a fan of Napoleon Hill this will blow your mind. If you are not this will blow your mind. I have taken 100’s of pages of notes and doing all I can to implement the ideas in this book and it has changed my life on so many levels. Its horror lay in the truth that which I knew but could not explain. The greatness comes from intrinsic deep answers that come when you hear them and you will hear them. If you don’t then you are not human. This book is for anyone seeking greatness in themselves. It’s dialogue seems to be aimed at Men, but mums, wives and sisters and girlfriends would benefit greatly from this great book.

- Open book is just that! Completely open and raw!

Thank you Jessica for opening up your life, your struggles, your truths, fears, and greatest joys! You are truely inspiring. I lost my mother to alcoholism and wish she could have found a way out of the darkness. You gave me some insight into what she may have been going through. I believe she had a very toxic relationship with my step dad that started her drinking, with a very fast and sad progression. You are so very lucky to have such a beautiful husband and children and group of BFF’s and family to support and love you ! We all grow and change and cannot be expected to be the same people we were 20 years ago wanting the same things. I Take my hat off to your honesty and thank you for sharing with the world what a true light you really are!

- LOVE IT!

I have been using audible for well over 10 years now...before there was an Australian site for it and have always enjoyed it. As an avid reader who was losing her sight, it allowed me some of the enjoyment I used to get from books. When the sync with kindle became available, I was so excited, I could make the font HUGE...and read til my eyes tired and then listen and go to and from. The ONE issue I have with sudible, is that when you buy a book from kindle, you can now get the audiobook for a few dollars. If, however, I use my credits, and want the kindle book, I have to pay full price for it. It makes my subscription a way of wasting rather than saving money because I ALWAYS want both. I don’t want to stop my subscription however I find myself accumulating credits because it’s just cheaper to buy the book and add the audiobook. Could the reversal be organised, so that when I use my credit, I can buy the kindle book for a few dollars? I have made this suggestions quite a few times through various means of contacting audible....and always told, it’s something that is being worked on.... I’d be so greatful when it happens. Thanks audible for many hours of listening.... Lisa

- Read this!

It is an amazing app, it helps me getting things done quicker e.g. if there is some homework I need to do about a book I can listen to it on audible while cleaning or working out. Something I found annoying about this app (although it has only happened once over the five years of me using it) is that there are some book series they don’t finish. They do the first few books but then the last one isn’t on here. Overall this app is amazing and I suggest buying it. It is a great way to save time. Getting this app also allows you to avoid the cliffhangers when you finish reading a chapter and have to go to bed. You can listen to the story while going to sleep and enjoy it all. I hope you discover some amazing books on this app.

- Stealing My Money

This is the worst app. I bought one book in april and finished it and i thought i could stop my subscription to stop paying for something so it did. But then 5 months go by and every month i pay $16 and I DELETED THE APP. I downloaded the app again to see if i could get rid of my card or stop a subscription somehow but i couldn’t find it anywhere. I thought there would be some place where i could remove my card in edit profile but NO, nothing. Not even customer support could help me, i searched up how to stop payment and how to stop subscription, but no results came up for one and only three on the one about stopping payment. There was only one stopping payment answer that was even related to my problem and it didn’t even help. I tried to email them and ask but they said to look at customer support. On the app it says there is something wrong with my credit card and to look it up on the internet but i’m never works. They are still charging me $16 dollars every month.

- Useful app with issues

There is one major irritation. The app appears to take an age to start, and when it does it is not a single click to continue listening. Rather you need to select the book and wait while it prepares then find a small play icon. There is considerable lag between ‘click’ and the book playing. So on more than one occasion I have clicked the play button a second time only to have the book play and then immediately pause. Pros: it works and plays the audio books. Provides a ton of statistics about your reading/listening habits. Cons: interface with iTunes is buggy and does not copy titles correctly. What the app needs. It would be useful to have an audio interface to increase loudness or compress the audio because some books are perfect in the living room but the audio is too low for driving. The update has broken the app. Changed it from five star to 1 star. It is just broken. 😤 Update was an improvement, but had to download some books again so they would play. The app now seems to refresh the screen rather than remembering where I last left. A little irritating.

- Love audible but. No in app purchase! No category/genre filter.

I want a one-stop shop app but... 1. hate that I can listen to a sample but can’t download from the app. My kindle lets me buy a book in the app - just want the same from audible. Including displaying the price i will pay in my country- not $US as currently occurs. 2. Sometimes I want to listen to specific genre in my purchased library like crime or sci-fi. I can’t filter/display by category/genre, only by recent/author/title. Please add this function to improve usability. 3. Hate that I can’t get entire series due to publishing rights, especially when it is the earlier eg 1st or 2nd in the series! 4. Once in a book it is great! Love bookmarking & sleep timer. Audio is excellent too.

- Censorship, Waste of Time, Just buy a book in Real Life

I have seen this app, push really hard in the country I live in. And I was intrigued. I downloaded the app and fiddled around with it till I figured out you cannot purchase in the app itself. Fair enough, it took some time to figure it out but not too much. Then I went on the website. Carefully browse through the selection of books I wanted because the “books” aren’t cheap, all of the ones of interest most likely are about $30-$48 mark. That means that I listen through the sample, read out reviews, compared narrators for a few different books. Finally, I decide to make a purchase. And I get a error message “Sorry, this book is not available to purchase in your Region/country!” Wow! Digital age is coming and it’s a lot easier to restrict and censorship people and knowledge, bit concerning. Buy a book in real life, support that book store. Really disappointed and really a waste of my time.

- Enlightened

I found myself through many parts of this book, writing down quotes that really stood out to me. I don’t think I’ve read a book this long in years, but somehow bother the writer and reader make the story flow so easily, that even as I was coming to the end, felt as though I was only halfway through. At many points I felt enlightened by the range of perspectives from both Lori and her patients. All in all, I would recommend this book to even therapy skeptics, because it made me think, “Hey, everyone could benefit for some therapy.” Such a great book. Can’t believe how much I learnt through the anecdotes told throughout. I truly do feel enlightened after reading this these past couple of weeks.

- Thoroughly researched story told well

I really enjoyed listening to this book. It taught me a lot about so many different things - geography, archeology, anthropology, navigating by stars, sea currents, diet, linguistics, how history is passed down and so on, and how all of these aspects came into play when researching and trying to understand the evolution of Polynesian peoples (from a European perspective). One thing I longed for was a map to look at to understand more fully where all the islands are in relation to each other, though it was well explained how far apart they are and how and why it was challenging for European explorers to discover them in the first place, hence the premise of the book in the first place. I also wanted to see written down some of the Polynesian names and terms to gauge accuracy of pronunciation.

- I know what your doing The series by Zane Michaelson

Wow what can I say, this was my first Audio book to listen to. I wasn’t sure if it would do the book justice, but it totally did. Jack Nobles voice had me mesmerized, I felt like I was a part of the story. This series is one of my favorite ever, it totally shattered and devastated me in parts, I cried and felt angry and anxious in other parts but overall I couldn’t switch it off. Jenna is one of the most forgiving and strongest Women I know, the lengths she went too, to fight for her Marriage and Family, was admirable. The love that both Zane and Jenna have for each other has survived a very devastating time in there lives, I wish them love and happiness always, because they both deserve there HEA.

- One minute out?

Ok I may have missed it but I didn’t get the title. Normally it’s it’s pretty strait forward in Mark Greaney novels. If your a fan of the series you’ll likely be irritated by the first person dialogue for at least the first few chapters. Eventually, if you’re anything like me you will slowly grow to appreciate the first person style. Not the best and not the worst of the series by any stretch. What I like liked about this one is that Gentry was flying solo throughout most of the mission, much like the first few in the series. This seems to allow for more daring and/ or desperate missions like the one that originally drew us in to the series. A good read for sure, just have some patience with the change in writing style in the beginning or you’ll miss out on something very good.

- Barefoot investor

I have bought the book rarely have enough time to sit and read as I have a full-time job, spent two hours a day driving to and from my full-time job my days off are spent keeping house paying bills going shopping etc. The audio version of this book gave me the opportunity to read this book with my ears on the two hours I have spent every day driving to and from work. As I have a book I can refer to the book I know what it’s all about because I’ve listened. There fore the Barefoot is definitely worth the money as it gives you great ideas and I’ve already saved the money I invested into both the audiotapes and book just by switching banks.

- Buggy app - robotic non responsive support

Audible have a near monopoly in audio books so if you have low vision it’s hard to find the same content anywhere else. But their app is so cantankerous. If you contact support they are very nice and polite but are clearly not empowered to raise bugs with the development team. Bug 1: for about half a year starting the app says “Welcome to Audible. Somethings not quite right. There’s a problem with the credit card on file...”. Only thing is - they are billing it successfully and have done so for months. The support team claim that this issue was raised with the dev team but evidence suggests otherwise. Bug 2: Rewind 30s has been broken for ages. If you repeatedly hit it you just hear the same thing over and over again. You have to be very slow in using the feature so that the app can play the correct sound. Bug 2: About 3/4 of book transfers to the Apple Watch fail. There is no real reason why. On the plus side after years of ignoring the problem a couple of years ago they fixed the slow download issue that a small number of Aussie users suffered. I know that dev teams and marketing teams like focusing on new shiny shiny features but - given your monopoly position - you have a responsibility to reduce bugs.

- Amanda Lee - HappinessHQ

I don’t know how I’d love without it! I use audible every single day both for my personal and professional learning. I recommend it as almost an essential resource to every client I work with. It enables them to absorb huge amounts of knowledge and concepts on the go during their busy days. This would obviously not be anywhere near possible if relying on reading. The only time I’ve needed to return a book the refund was prompt and without hassle. The only thing I would say is that the set up / initial using of audible has caused issues for nearly every person I’ve recommended it to. Also some confusion arises in terms of Australian audible versus US. Otherwise brilliant!

- Changing my life due to this book

I cannot recommend this book highly enough. I have suffered for most of my life with binge eating . It Started at 16 after falling into dieting for no reason except that my sister was doing it. This started a 30 year struggle that I could never quite understand. I have an audio library and countless hard copy books on how to stop binging but this is the first book I have ever found that has nailed it for me. I have a way to go to get the weight off but I finally don’t feel trapped by my need to binge at any given time. I feel free for the first time in my adult life. Thank you for taking the time to write this book. I truly appreciate it.

- The Drop Off

I had the absolutely pleasure of listening to the “Drop off” by Fiona Harris and Mike McLeish. It blasts us into our diverse Melbourne and to the life’s of three wonderful characters, Lizzie, Megan and Sam who all have to deal with the monotony of the ‘drop off/school life’ but in the process, discover the absolute joy that these precious moments create. This Hilarious book so cleverly written by Fiona Harris and Mike McLeish highlights how we strive to be successful parents and try to act like mature adults but can so easily slip back into the child within, aching to be accepted, respected and loved and back into the politics of the playground! The superb delivery of the text, with its many characters (and accents ) and the connection to the emotion of each character is so beautifully handled. There are some very emotional, gut wrenching moments from Sam( Mike Mc Leish) amidst the hilariously portrayal of Lizzie’s family (Fiona Harris) and Gyton Grantley’s Rick. As a past ‘drop off’ school mum, it reminded me of the friendships that crept into my life on the morning drop off, and that developed into some of my most precious friends.

- Great story - could have better Australian connections

Great story and very well narrated. I like to choose Australian crime fiction especially where it is set in rural settings. A big suggestion I would make to Jane is a little more Australian research. We don’t have fields in Australia - we have paddocks. If this book changed every reference of fields to paddocks that would make a big difference. A bit of geographic research too - 500km north of Melb takes you to NSW. Yes yes I know it’s fiction - but. The fire scene at the end was a bit far fetched reflecting not a great understanding g of fire behaviour in the Bush. Lastly the reference to snakes - might be safer to refer to brown snakes not tiger snakes. The latter either don’t exist in that country or at best they are rare. Anyhow other than these things I loved the story.

- Updates delete current info

It's 3:30 am. Another nightmare wakes me. I reach for Audible on my iPad to distract my mind and help me find sleep. The usual library list is missing when I select 'cloud'. The two books I had going, one for sleep, the other for migraines gone from 'device'. The last thing I wanted to do was to have to wake up, rediscover the password, sign out of into my audible account so I could sign back in, refresh, and download both books again. If it were a migraine I'd woken with (and I do frequently) I wouldn't have a hope of seeing well enough let alone have the brain power to do what I've just done. Please, please, please, please, stop making signing in and out a condition of updating the app. I thought automating updates made life easier but it hasn't with Audible. That was March 2019. Of course, once I put the login details in it worked as usual. July 2019 and Audible app tries to open but shuts down almost immediately. Was there an update? Can't say it's a password issue since it's not open long enough. I don't how to live with out an Audible book in my daily life. :((

- Game Changing

I think this Brene Brown Book is so relevant. I have a 4yr old and I’m excited by the possibility of raising my own game so that I may “hold the boundaries” for my child as a commitment to what I signed up for. It’s a privilege really. Not always easy but worth it! Thank you for describing compassion in a way that I have some work to do on :) Your definition of “play” was massive as I generally don’t feel v playful yet there are things where I lose time and am not so “purposeful”! Again, thanks for being the kind of human who not only researches but uses the learnings in real time w her family!! Keep bringing the goods as we are listening (even all the way in Australia!)!

- Rangers Apprentice: The Royal Ranger by John Flanagan

An all time favourite author of mine and a forever beloved series, I felt extreme nostalgia reliving the stories and adventures regarding Will Treaty, and loved how even my favourite characters have aged as I have. I loved the introduction of Maddie and as always, enjoyed the plot line in all its heartaches and triumphs. It was even better to listen to it on audible for the first time. I loved the little musical inserts in between chapters, made me feel like part of the adventure somehow. Any book in this series is always a five out of five for me. It’s a recommended book series for any book worm out there, or for those who aren’t book worms! Start with John Flanagan.

- Generally great, buggy right now

I’ve been happily using the Audible app on various iPhones for some years now, and it has always performed flawlessly. I love being able to purchase books from the app using credits and the sleep timer (which prevents me from dropping off and missing hours of story). However just lately there’s been a bug. If I pause the playback, sometimes it fails to play the audio. The play button is on, but the timer doesn’t advance and there’s no sound. To fix it I have to restart my phone, which is inconvenient. I am currently using an iPhone Xs, running iOS 13.5.1.

- Evolution

I downloaded the app when I started a journey of self discovery. I was lucky enough to have a 3 hour commute each week where I dove into books on mindfulness, psychology and self discovery. I no longer commute for work but carry the books and there teachings closely with me. I’ve just now returned to audible to accompany me walking my long rural driveway. On this morning after the completion of Joe Dispenza’s ‘you are the placebo’ I stand here In a pure state of gratitude for all I am and the journey that delivered me here. Thank you Audible, blue tooth and all the people in this world that take the time to write down there thoughts for others to share. Wes Bending

- Worthy of a PhD

I wondered when I bought this book whether I would learn anything new. Well, I sure did. In the 90s I was involved in domestic violence services in Queensland. The understanding now of coercive control and domestic abuse is a much better framing of what is going on that leads to the death of one woman a week in Australia at the hands of an ex lover. The author blends detailed qualitative stories from survivors, bystanders, family members, and X perpetrators. Supporting This understanding is the statistical data which is presented clearly and six synced Lee. The authors passion for her subject and for those who have been subjected to domestic abuse is quite moving. Jess deserves all the accolades she is accumulating.

- Laugh it up

From the first day I heard the cackling laughter of Candace Payne, I was hooked. I was having a really bad week, I mean REALLY B.A.D. week. The pure joy from the Chewbacca Mom broke through a crack in my darkness and filled me with a glimmer of hope. Thank you for sharing this very personal and inspiring book with us all. I enjoyed the narration on Audible from Mrs. Payne herself. It made it all the more sweet. Thank you for your wisdom. I truly believe we would be best friends IRL.... totally in a non-stalkery way!!! All the way from Australia. “What if’s steal our hope and they drive a wedge in our relationship with Joy. Joy doesn’t fear the what if’s, she thrives on what can be” Candace Payne

- Strangely difficult

There isn’t a logical, easy way to get the books. I had to log in on my computer to “purchase” a book, and then spend a bunch of time and support questions to have my book appear in the app. I can’t see a way to “purchase” a book from the app. Furthermore, There are about 10 different market places. It doesn’t automatically select based on your login or where your login purchases books. So, you may buy a book and it will never show up unless you change marketplaces, which also isn’t very easy to do either. This is ridiculous, adding an extra layer of unnecessary complexity. Make it simple like Netflix or whatever. I’m also an IT professional. I can’t imagine how hard this would be for mothers and fathers or tech illiterate. I hate the experience thus far. Just make it simpler for crying out loud.

- New Hope

I downloaded this book sitting at the airport where I booked a flight to get away for the weekend as my wife & I were preparing to separate & most of the decisions have come from the way I feel and the fact that I have no fight left in me to save our marriage, after listening to this audiobook on the way down it has ignited my fight levels through the roof & a day later Re booked a flight to go home, all I want to do is go home and share this book with my wife and hope it’s not to late Most inspirational book I’ve read Hopefully I’m not to late to put this into practice

- I’m all ears. I hope someone’s listening as well.

Everyone should give audiobooks a try. Audible has helped me enjoy and explore so many more titles and topics (over 200) than those dusty, neglected titles stacked on my beside table. Along with a constantly updated and wide array of captivating and entertaining titles, it’s great to share the experience of so many of the great masterpieces of mankind. I appreciate that they are preserved in spoken word form for our future generations. Whilst the above is true I still feel compelled to hold a Star (or two) of hope that someone, who is proud to work at Audible, will take the lead in preserving and presenting some of the many, many fine works of the late great Mr James A Michener. It’s been great to listen to and savour other masterworks like War and Peace or Crime and Punishment. It’s a long long list. Humanity should hold on to this timeless wisdom. Lest we forget. How about titles like Centennial or The Source or Alaska? Like earning the Audible trophy’s within the app, Audible will earn another two stars (from me) when they publish some of the Mighty Mr Michener. I’m all ears. I hope someone’s listening as well :)

- Audio books - outlander series.

I have enjoyed the books for years now, reading and re reading again and again, but eyes are getting weak so I have purchased the audible versions. These versions are every bit as enthralling as the actual books. And the lass who vocalises the characters does an amazing job. Some light background noise on occasion can be heard, but not enough to detract from the stories. Can’t wait for the next volume. I wish other authors put so much detail in their books, it is the detail that allows you to lose yourself in the story. Thank you.

- Highly recommend

A friend sent me a link to my first free audiobook a few months ago and I’ve been listening to several books each month since. Because of the nature of my job I can listen to audiobooks all day while I work, it’s fantastic. I like the feature that it syncs between devices and takes me to the place where I last read. I gave this app 4 stars because I think there is room for improvement. I listen to several books which I refer back to at a later stage, but finding the part I’m looking for, takes ages. It would be very helpful to display the title of each chapter and not just the number.

- On a Beautiful Day

I really enjoyed this book. As well as being a Mancunian and recognising places and the people, who I can testify, in all modesty, are just wonderfully warm, the story line kept my interest right up to the end. I really don’t like books, films, wherehalfway through I can guess the ending/outcome. With ‘On a Beautiful Day’ right up to the end I was never sure how each characters story was going to end, I really liked that. But more importantly these ladies stories were so refreshing, I could feel myself amongst them in all ways. I hope Ms Diamond has written more of the same. Lynne

- Have to hit play twice EVERY time

The app works fine except for one major annoyance - when I press play, it plays for a split second then stops again. I have to press play a second time for it to start properly. This has been a persistent bug for a long time over many versions. The play/pause button is the one button you use the most in this app, and having it be persistently broken is a pain. This seems like a truly core piece of functionality that should work flawlessly every time, like the accelerator pedal on a car. I think it’s time audible finally knuckled down and fixed this one.

- Almost perfect

Great app, does what it needs to, BUT... The app is missing two important features. First is the ability to purchase titles from within the app. Probably has something to do with apple taking a cut of in-app purchases but it would be nice to at least be able to spend credits this way. I am astounded this next missing feature still hasn’t been added as I’ve seen people requesting it for literally years. Please please please please PLEASE, give us the ability to organise the books in the library on our devices into folders. Scrolling through a long list of books to find the right one gets old fast, and being able to organise them into groups of folders of author/series/genre/whatever would make this app perfect in my opinion. I wouldn’t even mind if the folders were local only and not shared between devices. On the whole, probably the best audiobook app and service out there, 4 stars for having almost everything but loses one for the lack of folders.

- Doesn’t sound particularly robust.

I want to try it. I just enjoyed a Kindle purchase which had an audio option but the idea of having to use a computer to download and the other complexities and the difficulties force me to say, not yet thanks. Already tried to install this but without success. Perfect the technology and I will sign up- but I don’t use a computer only an iPad and have had enough frustration with the Kindle call centre trying to straighten things out on tech failures. Recently it took three calls, the first two “helpers” having hung up on me.

- Audible makes ‘reading’ possible anywhere.

Since starting as an Audible customer over 12 months ago, I have shared it through gift vouchers with others and told many more how wonderful it is. Audible makes engaging with stories much more accessible in our ever-increasingly busy world. Driving? Listen to Audible. Housework? Listen to Audible. Gardening? Listen to Audible. In the shower? Listen to Audible. Going for a walk? Listen to Audible. Just the other day, Audible showed the love to customers who are in bushfire effected areas and I was truly touched.

- A must for avid readers!

I have been a member of Audible for more than 5 years now. I love the range of books & being able to listen on practically every device! I listen to books at work, on my daily walk & in the car. Whispersync also allows me to switch between the e-book & audiobook - without losing my place in the book. Audible has a fantastic range available and all of the books are reasonably priced. There are always loads of discounts - especially if you borrow or buy the Kindle version as well. Highly recommended!

- Small change.

Love this app and have enjoyed the fact that I can download and listen in poor service with no loss of quality. However I do love to enjoy many books over a weekend and would love to organize a folder to enjoy linked books together or to be able to shuffle titles to reflect an order of listening to. Have enjoyed the quality of narratives and refer to all my friends. I also wish I could let friends borrow my paid for books and share my new fave with them to get them hooked and loving new titles. Thanks.

- Downward Beneficial Mutations

An insightful read. Beneficial mutations produce favourable changes but at the cost of junking a gene. Irreducible complexity is still going strong. The chances of multiple (2 or more) mutations occurring to produce a better gene is vanishingly small. Darwinism can make small ‘adaptive’ changes and fragmentation/ speciation but has no chance of macro evolutionary change. When are more biologists going to realise that macro evolution of molecular genetics is illogical and actually impossible"?Wishing it to be so doesn’t make it so. The Emperor has no clothes! Has good up to date info on Darwin’s Finches and mutations and what is Science. Thanks.

- Audible addiction

I wasn't convinced about audiobooks before but the quality of the selection on Audible and the opportunity to sample before purchasing have won me over. I now listen in the car, at the gym, on holidays and while doing the grocery shopping. I've also listened to books that I may never have read before and I enjoy alternating between literary and popular fiction. As a teacher librarian I encourage my students to listen to audiobook on audible, I've listened to books with my own sons and recommended to friends and colleagues.

- Wow well done!

I found the book interesting be able to give an account of processed used in a conflict like Iraq then the principles and the various applications to a variety of business application it was thought provoking and in all chapters I could relate to some of these scenarios in my work place. The other thing I got out of the book was reinforcing some of my own actions, views and plans are correct. Awesome book well written and presented. This was my first audiobook and wasn’t sure if I liked the concept but how it was read and presented was fantastic so thank you well done

- Brilliant - both Donald & Robert !

I wrote in my journal one day that the exact book I needed at the time would be there waiting for me at the book store that day. A glowing book I imagined in my mind. I have spent months trying to get this book In my hands, each time sold out!! To much surprise that day the Bookeeper said, yes may have one final copy in the store - let me check. That was the moment all things I needed to hear, understand better and know for sure changed my life. A touching and inspiring book, brilliantly written to awaken the person inside all of us. Thankyou Oprah.

- Grateful for the break up

I was going through a break up. And was feeling unclear on how I was supposed to feel. I started to dig more into persosnal development along with Tony Robbins relationship advice and then also learning more about Dr John demartini’s stuff. I was resentful for what happened and reading the book shifted my own mindset. And made me feel lighter and grateful. Back then break ups would take me months and months of healing, including self destructive behaviours and unhealthy drinking. This time I only had 2 glass of wine in the first 1.5 days and listened to this whole audibiobook which didn’t even need me to depend on alcohol to make me feel better. I felt relief. I felt appreciation for them and myself. And I’m feeling wonderful. Oh and I also book in to go to the break through experience. I’m excited! Because I always found Dr John Demartini so complex. But I think it’s when your mind is just ready to take it in. Thank you for this amazing audiobook!

- App needs redesign to support large libraries

my library is now over 200 audiobooks and just a linear list of books is not good enough for this type of app. at least narrowing the selection based on categories should be implemented. i am a bit sick of scrolling through long list to find a particular book or focus on a particular category. can’t even tag the titles... summary - library functionality is very basic. this is not reflection to audible as provider of audio books, just the app needs a serious usability rework.

- Many faults

Where is the free category? Can’t buy and download directly in the app? Seriously!?!? Work it out with Apple! I’m sure you can find a way.

- there could be major improvements to this app

The app worked better before, after all these updates the app for IOS is very flaky. Cuts out, freezes, stops, won’t load, a whole mess of things. My rating has gone down for this app since the quality has gone down significantly.

- Terrible UX

It should not be this difficult to BUY something from a company. I should be able to make purchases inside the app or at least click a button that would take me directly to an outside URL where I can pay for the item I want. Will delete app after listening to a podcast series only on Audible.

- Frustrating despite great UI

I like the UI of the Apple Watch app. The big play/pause button in the middle works great. I like how I can slide the same button to the left to rewind. Good design. However, I’ve deleted the app. Why? Because it does not remember where I was and keeps going back to the beginning. I cannot stand it. It’s just too frustrating. This lack of position remembering and syncing with the iPhone completely ruined the user experience despite the good UI design. I’ll use the app again only if this fatal defect is fixed.

- User beware

This app deletes all purchased book tokens, regardless of count, if you cancel the service. I had a purportedly odd situation of having my accrued tokens deducted when I opted to pay cash for an audio book. Some audio books will not be worth the monthly book time you get from the subscription. Instead of investigating my complaints I received formulaic responses about browser caches and otherwise. After deciding to cancel, only the did I learn that all the money I spent on book tokens was going to be deleted. Every other service I have ever dealt with at the very least offers some manner of refund for the unused portion of the service. So beware. Audible comes with a very unpleasant lock-in mechanism that will punish you for cancelling.

- Very difficult to cancel subscription

I subscribed to Audible but found listening to books wasn’t for me. When I went to cancel, I found it difficult throughout the process. You can’t cancel from the app or through the mobile site...only the desktop.

- Not Impressed

Downloaded and paid for membership back in February. Cancelled membership on audible.com over the summer but still found they were still charging me monthly after the fact. Called customer support to find out what the charge is for. Ended up finding out audible.ca had been charging me - even though audible.ca came out after I had bought the membership. Issue: audible.com says I am not enrolled in a membership, whereas audible.ca says that I am. I understand that these are two different services but this is one company. I think it’s ridiculous and very misleading that one company related site would say I don’t have a membership, while another company related site says that I do. Customer service did not even offer a refund for the months I cancelled my subscription on audible.com Please work on having some sort of uniformity when it comes to membership information displayed across your websites.

- Can't download

Stupid to down load this app. Use a different one that will actually let you download a book in the app. I've already deleted this app. It's crap!!

- Everyone should read or hear this book!

Fabulous book full of humour and excellent points! For those with pre-conceived notions of Milo being this horrid person, I challenge you to actually listen to what he has to say. You may not agree with absolutely everything, but I'm sure if you're a rational human being, you'll survive and probably even learn!

- Play doesn’t work

Play button doesn’t play... you have to press it 2 or 3 times. This issue has been going on for over a year and they’ve yet to fix it. Many people have reported the bug but they just don’t seem to care.

- Buggy, expensive, bloated, wont sync with Apple Watch

...but apart from that, great! Sent a detailed description of my issue to support. They sent me instructions for how to install the app, and a cheerful promise that I would then be able to listen to audiobooks. Deleting and reinstalling, this app now comes with half a dozen excerpts of books, in French for some reason, with no option to delete them. Maybe it’s mad at me because I wouldn’t share my iTunes library with it? When it is “working”, I can search for books but get a message that says “this app can not be used to purchase content” even though I am a subscriber. I have to go to a separate website if I actually want any of the books.

- Frustrating

I wanted was to go somewhere to listen to books. I can’t even purchase the books I want to listen with no information on how to purchase a book. All I got is a wish list. Where do you go from there????

- Too many glitches

Randomly crashes and can’t remember your place. Cannot sync between devices. Doesn’t allow for varying skips forward and back. The free library app is better and the books aren’t outrageously priced.

- Not an app

Non-functional. Used Try App and downloaded the samples but it completely refused to even try to play them.

- Can't even see your own wishlist

Great for listening to audiobooks, but it's pretty dumb that you can add stuff to your wishlist in the app, but can't see your wishlist or buy books from the app.

- Literally changed my life

Anyone who knows me knows I'm dyslexic and I hate to read, I hate typing even more and have never liked it. Since graduating highschool I've probably gone threw 8-12 books as I found them to be a pain. This year I decided that my new years resolution was to listen to audio books. I've gone threw over 80 books and it's only September. I'm crushing them while I'm driving and working out. I've lost 40lbs and my dog is even healthier because we're walking more. I got a promotion at work because I have more information and I'm helping out in more ways. Honestly I wish someone would have told me that this was a real option sooner.

- The “woke-est” book I’ve ever consumed

Will probably need to listen to this book three times over to soak in all the wisdom it has to offer.

- Annie Grace This Naked Mind

This audio was life changing for me. I highly recommend it !! I have learned so much as far as the unconscious mind and how it controls our emotions and feelings of how we see alcohol in our lives!! By changing your unconscious beliefs it allows you to let go and be free from the “poison”!! Our minds are so powerful!! Changing the way you think about alcohol gives you the power to eliminate alcohol from your life!!

- Rubbish

Keeps freezing & is very slow to navigate iPhone 6+

- Terrible

Terrible app with terrible supports

- Great service, terrible app

Cuts off the starts of every chapter, and doesn’t save my spot on any device. You can’t purchase books from the app, you can’t even look at your wishlist from it. They claim that this is because of Apple, yet I have plenty of apps which allow me to at least look at a wishlist!

- Needing iOS 13 or better is crap

I just lost years & years of audiobooks. Can’t access the old ones. Can’t buy new ones.

- Not worth your money

Unable to utilize credits to download books. At times, difficult to navigate. You are better off buying a book, or two, or three.

- Not impressed

This has got to be the worst app I’ve ever used. It’s confusing, not easy to use and my amazon account on desktop and app do not align/meaning I can’t access my audiobooks, despite being the same account. Total fail amazon. You can do better

- Error

Audible will not work for me. I signed in using my amazon prime account and it says error check back later when I go to my profile. I can still sample a book but can’t make any purchases. Hope they fix this profile error!

- Can not buy audiobooks directly for iOS

Please change this! This app is fantastic but it’s ridiculous you can’t buy audiobooks directly through the app for iPhones.

- Expensive

I love this app but the cost per month is just not worth the only one book per month that you are given.

- Relatively terrific app

Make sure you own a desktop computer, you may be able to subscribe from your phone through their mobile site or through their app but when you need to cancel your subscription they will only allow you to do so through a desktop computer. Also make sure you redeem all of your credits before you cancel your subscription because they won't honour the credits that you already purchased if you haven't found a book that you like. Unredeemed outstanding credit gets taken away with your subscription. They don't sell books. To buy books, you need to use your browser, not the app. It is very weird. Other than that the app is okay

- Where is the wish list

No one in the world can find wish list on this app. There are reddit pages, popular google searches about not been able to find wish list in the app and these guys don’t fix it.

- Frustrating!

This is the most frustrating app! There is no where to buy a membership, or buy individual books. You have to go to the main website, but there isn’t even a link anywhere in the app to the website. Why? Once I finally figured it out I was so frustrated that accidentally got the wrong book, and now there is no where to return it! Even thought I haven’t downloaded it. There needs to be a way to return media easily, especially when you haven’t even downloaded it!

- Buggy

The apps sometimes “forgets” where you were in a book and you have to figure out you’re listening to the same stuff again, a bit frustrating.

- Error on profile page

Mediocre app. Can’t see my profile for last two weeks now. Time to unsubscribe

- Not happy

I can never find where I take my book from, I have some sitting on my wish list,!

- Bad app

This app is confusing to use, I started a trial with my amazon prime account and I was unable to download any books. This app is poorly designed and confusing to use

- Phyge

Please stop putting my books in catagories!! This used to be a fine app till it rearranged all my books!! I paid for these books, and I prefer to arrange them my way.

- Keeps crashing

Its my first time using Audible, and the app has crashed about 4 or 5 times in as many minutes. I’m not very impressed.

- Disappointed

My husband and I have using the audible application for years and at first it was amazing but suddenly the app stopped working on all my device. Only way to access to my library is by going on the website witch is annoying for so many reasons. Make sure the app is working before subscribing that my advice.

- Wtf is that set up???

Jesus effing christ the set up and email confirmation and app fixing and having the 30 day free thing not working. I felt stupid doing this the whole time, wasted 2 hours on this and still have not found a solution. I have 2 audiobooks waiting to be read but the audible app is simply not letting me without paying immediately.

- Bad app

Can’t even download anything isn’t giving me any options not even simple to use don’t recommend

- La disparition de Stéphanie Mailer

Bien aimé ce livre ! Beaucoup de bons rebondissements inattendus, suspense assuré.

- Great selection

Wonderful selection.I love to listen while going for a walk. Only criticism is that it is a bit pricey...hence the 4 stars review.

- Story good. Québécois accent appalling.

Harper Collins, next time you create an Aidible work please make sure the narrator can approximate the correct regional accent. This was a Quebec story but Saskia did a terrible job of representing the way of speaking. Surely a Canadian could have been hired?

- Horrible app for iwatch

I love audible for my phone, but I have never been able to get the app to work properly on iwatch. It either never downloads fully, or does download but is unplayable. Takes over 30 minutes to download and is the most frustrating process I’ve dealt with on the apple platform.

- Worst app ever

I hate this app I should not have to pay for this it’s spupposed too be a simple reading app I just hate this app

- Worst experience

Started a free trial and downloaded the app. It kept force closing and I had contacted the Amazon centre which walked me through a few steps via one email. I’ve tried to open it on different networks as well as redownloading, turning off my phone and it still didn’t work. Called the customer service for help and ended up just cancelling my subscription. Very disappointed there was little to no help on this

- Terrible company

This app has so many bad reviews, how does it have 4.8 out of 5? Are they paying to exclude reviews? If you buy any large books like the bible, the are NO links to jump to verses Chapters often start in the middle of versus and not at the beginning. This Canadian version is 1/2 of the US app, missing purchase in app, missing Whisper and has problems connecting to internet. If are ANY problems with a book like the Sherlock Holmes with the last 5 chapters in the wrong order, they will give you credit. They have never fixed any problematic titles. You end up with a ton of credits, being scared to buy books because they are lacking quality controls. Some of the readers sound like they are reject bingo callers. Be warned, they make you buy packages and once you realize how bad a lot of the recordings are, you will have 2 to 3 credits and you cannot cancel because they will take away your credits. If you got sucked into the dream, they send Audible a message by giving them a bad review.

- Brick

The app is pretty much a brick if the app is all you have. The only options are add to wish list and listen to preview. And wish list isn’t even available on the app.

- Night of power

Beautiful, moving and so relatable. I cried for papa mana and Ashif seeing myself in them all. Well done.

- Membership Cancellation

I don’t like how I can only cancel my Audible membership using the desktop site. This can be very inconvenient for the user, as if you’re forcing me to keep being a member through the inconvenience.

- Inconvenient app.

No functions. Can’t buy a book or see wishlist, and can’t see my credits. Not convenient! Too many clicks to get to safari to use a ‘web page’ to see all the complete features. If I unsubscribe this would be the reason why. 70-80% of today’s users use mobile over webpages. So please prioritize mobile app over webpage (regardless where it’s accessed). Thanks!

- Changed My Life

I heard about audible from my sister. I started listening to books while commuting to an from work, on trips, cleaning, gardening, etc. I stopped wasting valuable time by sitting and reading a book. At first it was frustrating because one book could cost three credits and if you didn’t like it too bad. I got an account for my husband but he didn’t use it so now I could read up to four books a month. The changes you made: one credit per book, turning books back in if unhappy with them and now the best thing “audible escape”. My one complaint is some of the horrible readers for example, incorrectly pronouncing words, bad pacing, horrible sounding voices for some characters, slurping, etc. I always read the reviews and if there are multiple complaints on the reader I usually pass that book by. I have even turned books back in. Life’s to short and so many other books to listen to. Thank you

- Not just another feel good story

I listened to your book on audio. I was introduced to it by my stepson. He and my husband listened to it on their recent trip to Colorado while camping. They were so excited about it, that I decided to start listening to it on my journey to and from work. Well, that didnt last long...soon I could no longer wait for my ride home to tune in . I then had to listen to it at lunch as well. I would even sit in my car after I got home, because I just hated to turn it off long enough to go into the house. It didnt take long to figure out that this was not just another good story, but a man allowing himself to be vulnerable and transparent in his pain, pouring out his soul and sharing his story in order to bring healing to other hurting people. His story resonated to the debth of my heart and soul, like the vibration of a tuning fork. With ever word, I could feel an array of emotions. Thank you for sharing your story of healing and restoration.

- Got me “reading”

I have never been a reader. Through school I avoided reading at all costs and got by fine just skimming though Wikipedia in order to avoid reading entire books - not a good thing I know lol. I just had trouble actually concentrating on reading and it was just a bother to me. I’m now 22 and since finding Audible, I have “read” well over 20 books in no time at all. For most books, the voice performers do an absolutely fantastic job differentiating characters in a story and deliver the content perfectly. It was great to be able to drive an hour to work each day and have a book playing - it passed time like nothing else and I was actually feeding my brain! I would absolutely recommend Audible to everyone. Great interface and all. The only thing I wish I could do is purchase a book with my card via the app, however I am aware there are valid monetary reasons why they can’t allow that. Overall I love it.

- A Lost Art

Awesome! I did not read the original but the audiobook re-written by the daughter was simply the best! This is real, practical philosophy for the modern world of women who still believe in maintaining a traditional cis-female, feminine identity. You might even say by now that this book describes almost a Lost Art. The theme is very respectful and open-minded. There are no accusations or nagging because that’s not the mindset. It’s a book rooted in love and as they say, “be aware of any movement or revolution that doesn’t place the highest importance on love”. There is no control/power dynamic because this book describes a Partnership. The only part that felt a bit off was the passage on girlishness. The author suggests that women call themselves ‘defenseless’ in a bid to make men not assert their boundaries. The author claimed this was not manipulation but I disagree..Otherwise, the other descriptions for teasing seemed healthy.! The ‘who’s fault’ passage was eye opening. It’s hard work but you have to stay mindful! Great listen/read!

- Need ability to organize for my self

I have been a long time member and some of the previous updates have been helpful. However the most recent update has changed the Library page and not for the better. The “not started” (which I assume means not read) category also shows finished books?? How is that useful? As others have frequently mentioned, once you have a substantial list of books finding something becomes difficult (too many to scroll through). If there was a way to create my own way to categorize the titles... (for instance I have many children’s books that I would like to move to a separate group) or non fiction, or fiction, or biography, etc. I don’t always remember a title or even an author but I can remember if it was a biography, etc. 😉 Also, I would love to weed out some of the things I will never read again. Is there a way to permanently delete books from my library?

- If I HAD to make a complaint

I am hooked on audiobooks. Have been for years. Then audible came along, exploiting my weakness perfectly. If I had to complain, this is my sole complaint: when I speed up a book (I am rereading the A Song if Ice and Fire Series, because... well, it is worth rereading) and when I set the speed to 1.25 or 1.5, as I am reading along with the kindle and printed versions of the series, if I open another book, the speed is still set at 1.25 or 1.5 or whatever I set it at for the last book. Basically, you have to set the speed for each book individually. That is the only complaint I have. I use the app every single day, and i own hundreds of books. Amazing selection and even more amazing customer service. You WILL NOT find a better audiobook app, I promise. I’ve tried them all. Never had a a negative experience with customer service, in many years. And I buy so much that I have to contact customer service for all returns. Not many like this. Thanks Audible

- Sync issues, badge spam, frustration

I listen to this while I get my son to sleep In dark rooms, and so interruptions means that the book have to be set aside. On that note, this piece of software is the most frustrating I could have picked. My Apple Watch is constantly out of sync with theiPhone version, and it is really a gamble which one to pick up when I tap my AirPods. I tried to solve this by uninstalling the Apple Watch app, it keeps automatically re-install itself. Moreover, audible keeps interrupting attempts to press buttons to pop up badges that I care zero about. I end up seeing a flash of “weekend warrior” before I fail in an attempt to press a button, my son cries, and I give up. Today I bought the same book I’m listening to on a different service, so that I can actually Listen to it. I’m done with Audible. My situation is unique, but I think this app to be Terrible for a variety of people. Specifically, Idon’t recommend this app to other people who might be engaged and literally anything else. Only use it if you have the time to concentrate on the intricacies of the poorly designed interface.

- Love it, but...

I love Audible and the option it gives me to enjoy books when I don't have time or free hands for print. However, i do take issue with the mobile app for iPhone, the lack of choices in some sub-genres and the choices of narrators for certain bodies of work. (1.) It's very inconvenient not to be able to purchase through the app. It's also annoying to not be able to change the view from list to grid view or to be able to arrange the books into groups/collections. (2.) I find it quite disturbing that I can find endless content for MM dragon pregnancies and other such unique categories of books, but I struggle to find more than the bare minimum in African American and interracial (not "multicultural" romance) by well known and seasoned authors. I am inundated with self-published "urban" romance, but that is not the same thing and not what all people who enjoy AA and IR lit are looking for. (3.) When I do luck up and find such content, the narrators for characters of color are rarely to never actually individuals of color. Yes we can tell, and yes it matters.

- Difficult to Get Used To, But Love It Now

I love listening to books on Audible! I especially love listening to books read by the author of the book themself! Audible as an application took some time getting used to using... I love that it has a free trial to allow new users some time to get used to it. It’s not like Nook or Kindle, which allow the user to see the words and read along at the same time. But I love that Nook and Kindle are starting to partner with Audible to allow users of their apps to hear their books being read to them out loud. I can’t wait until they merge officially so that I can read along visually as I listen to my audio books! Another thing I love about Audible is that you keep your books forever, even if you put your membership on hiatus or cancel it later on. It’s like you bought the actual book and I like that the actual Audible app doesn’t have ads or any distractions. I tell my friends that Audible is comparable to using ITunes for the first time... the app to listen to your music is separate from your Apple ID where you buy your music. This analogy has helped me and others get really into using Audible and now we love it! The only thing that could make this app better - other than the integrations with Kindle and Nook which appear to be in progress - would be the ability to lend a book to a friend for a short time like library loaning.

- Love Audible but...

I wish books that are part of a series were always numbered. Nothing irks me more than finding out that the book listened to was book number 2+ of a series. Please present the books in series order. I’ve had to find another website to find out the order of books. Once you listen to the book, Audible will present the next book in order. I need this information up front so I listen to the first book. The description sometimes offers this information, but not always. Reviews will also sometimes give this information. Having the ability to exchange books not quite to my liking is excellent; however, the number of books allowed to exchange without calling an Audible rep should not be limited. I purchase a lot of books and for the most part, listen to them unless the book is extremely bad in my opinion. I am a Audible book junkie and would appreciate changing this limitation on exchanging books.

- Highly Overrated

Audible is not an app for everyone, nor one that I would recommend to anyone. I wish there were an all of the above option listed under the “what actions did you take to resolve your issue” question, because I have tried all of them and the only thing customer service was able to assist me in was canceling my subscription before getting charged. I’ve had to repurchase books twice just to listen to them in the app. In my opinion audible is a rip-off, you’d think it would benefit being a Prime member and having both Kindleunlimited and Prime Reading; however, it does not. I’ve downloaded books from prime and or kindle and when I would select the read & listen option to hear in audible, it would only create a wish list and request me to then purchase the exact same title AGAIN, in audible app before being able to actually listen. I cancelled my subscription with audible and deleted the app completely from my iPhone. I do not wish to continue utilizing this app for anything. In my opinion, audible is an overrated, double charging, useless listening app which I happily give four thumbs down 👎🏽 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽.

- Great thriller, you won’t be disappointed

This is a new author for me but he completely drew me in. I am a huge thriller fan so I couldn’t wait to get started on this audiobook. The narrator was a perfect choice as his voice managed to make the characters sound like I was visualizing them to be. Sometimes it can be very confusing when the author goes back and forth between both the past and present storyline. However that was not the case with Drive. I thoroughly enjoyed the character of Annie, a strong cop who is introduced to “The Volunteers” through her father. “The Volunteers” have one rule and that is to make things right in the world. They are a patriotic group dedicated to righting the wrongs in our country, putting their lives at risk in order to achieve their goal. However things are not always as they seem as you will discover. So get your snacks and prepare yourself to travel down an amazingly thriller of a ride.

- I have probably been an audible subscriber longer than anyone you know…

I have had audible forever...The experience of audiobooks and the selection at audible is fantastic… Everyone should do this… You can get more reading done because you read while doing other things, like exercising or bike riding or washing the dishes... However, over the years the software has changed and it's really buggy and could easily be fixed if the programmers and developers actually used it instead of just putting in changes that don't really work… I'm not gonna go into all of them but one thing that's quite annoying is the sleep function… Whenever I try to hit the sleep function, it's virtually impossible for me, with a normal man-sized finger, to select the amount of time that I want to choose… It's like performing brain surgery or something and yet 90% of the page space is free… Why don't you just make big buttons that anybody could press… It's like the people who are doing the software development just are not trying…This one change could be done by any programmer in about 15 minutes

- Works well

The app does what I need it to do but there’s two main issues I have with it. Both issues stem from the fact that I’ve had a Audible for several years and I have a lot of books now. The first thing I would like to see from this app is something similar to what they have on Goodreads which is you can create a bookshelf and put different books on different shelves to make it easier to navigate. The second thing I’d like to see may not be possible but I currently have an iPhone and occasionally I have to factory reset it. I specifically purchased an iPhone with a lot of storage so that I could store most of the books I purchased through Audible. Every time I factory reset my phone when I restore it it restores my Audible settings but it doesn’t keep the downloaded books. So I have to re-download dozens and dozens of books which takes quite a while to do. Overall the app is great and those are the only two real issues I have with it.

- Such a promising app

Main reason I purchased this app was to be able to listen to books as I went on long trips in my car. It does have Bluetooth capability, apparently, and that’s really how I want to hear the books. Through my car speakers. But the app’s interface with Bluetooth and the ability to play your audio books is clunky at best. My IPhone was properly paired with my car but I could not hear the book through my speakers. Double checked that other apps Interfaced with my car speakers via Bluetooth and they were working properly. Did call customer support. They were very responsive, which was nice. They’re only advice was a work around which was to unpair my phone from my car and then pair it again. I did do that and heard the book. Success! Well not so fast. Tried it again this morning and found that again I could not hear the book. Went through the unpair and pair sequence again, which to be candid I think is a bit ridiculous given what you have to pay on a monthly basis for use, and found that technique did not work this time. Sigh.

- Be VERY aware of them and charges to your account!

I have canceled and followed all of their steps to cancel. Then next month I receive another charge. I call them and they make me wait on hold because they “cant see the charge” then after holding forever they find it and guarantee my card is no longer on file and I am officially canceled. The next month ANOTHER charge by Audible! I call again and same exact thing! Wait on hold for forever while they locate this charge. Get a refund! Another one apologizes over and over says my card is officially off file and he took all the steps to get it off. On the 31st of July another charge from Audible! This is the 3rd time now having to ask for a refund and my card to be removed. One of these managers has promised my card is off file and will not receive another charge! I find this very hard to believe and fully believe this is a scam to take your money! If you do not pay close attention to your bank account they will continue to charge you even if you cancel! This is a scam!!!! Now I have to cancel my card!! I hope that will stop these bulls*** charges from this scam of a company!

- Awesome app, but needs some more...

This app is awesome! I really love it and use it a lot. The features that are available in it are great, though I do wish it some other features that it doesn’t have. Like one feature that would be awesome is the ability to make playlists for audiobooks that you can customize and make, sort of like a music playlist on iTunes. The reason for that feature would be so that you could the app play certain audiobooks in a row without having to constantly go in to select the next book to listen to. Another great feature would be to have it where you could select an individual book series from your library to play the whole, whether it’s by author or series. Basically it would be awesome to have a lot of iTunes app features added to this app to make it more versatile. Anyways still love the app, but more features would be even more awesome.

- Update?

Hey, wondering if you guys are planning on upgrading your audible app any time soon. It only has the most basic features for book storage and organization. Would love to put books together like books from a series instead of them being scattered and organized by date of purchase. Also books I don’t want to listen to again would go in a folder that is not clogging the books I do want to listen to. Basically some sort of custom organizer would make all the difference in the world. Also when new books in a series that I have already listened to become available it would be great if they would appear in my recommended list or a new list on the home page. Currently I have to look up each series to see if something new has come out. Very tedious and time consuming... other than that great books and thanks for bringing so many great authors to one place!!

- Audible Review

Love Audible! Listening to books when I used to commute was great... Now we listen on vacation and I listen at home.. Much better than having the tv blaring all day! We listen to books as we cook and while the kiddo naps and in the car when we run errands... I don't know what I'd do without this app! I used to check out audiobooks on cd from the library but they were big and bulky and I'd only listen in the car... This is so much easier!!! My only question is... will there ever be a way to ‘shelve’ or organize the books by genre, topic, age group, other ways as defined by user??? I have nearly 400 books and I’m constantly being surprised that I have something I’d forgotten about buried 3 years ago down my library list. Having a way to organize titles would be SO useful! When I’m in the mood for YA, I’d like to just go to my YA section rather than filtering through all 400ish books...

- Since last update

I loved the idea of custom timers and fading out as the sleep timer ends but ever since this last update the app is super laggy and nearly unresponsive. The fade out at the end of the timer is too long meaning you miss out on quite a bit of the story. It is so unresponsive to rewind to get what you might have missed is almost not worth it. Then you also might miss out on a lot as the sleep timer doesn’t always work in the first place. Woke up 4 hrs later only to hear the app still going. When I looked at it though it said it was a sleep like the timer worked but didn’t stop playing the book. Other times the timer doesn’t do this at all and acts like it was never set. Not impressed one bit with this last buggy, slow and glitchy update. Have had to hook up to a computer and play audiobooks from iTunes app (which after this update is now slightly better). Something that we have been asking for for awhile would be a huge improvement to the app as well is sorting by series but this is more of a footnote comment to this debacle of an update.

- Great app with a few flaws

This app does what Is supposed to do. And that’s great because I listen to audiobooks daily. There are a few of things I would like to see fixed: when I open another app and come back to this one or turn off the phone and come back to Audible, the app restarts itself it seems which takes quite a while. Next, I would like to be able to read more reviews about the book I am reading or want to read. Unfortunately, audible only allies one screen of reviews with no scrolling. Please change that. Lastly, when I am controlling the app from a speaker or sometimes just restarting playing, it can take several presses of the resume button to get the app playing again. Also, if I’ve been using the app, turn off the screen and come back, what is on the screen is the music player even though it’s not loaded. I want it to be Audible so I can just resume. Maybe that’s an Apple issue, I don’t know.

- Great resource

I love my Audible app b/c I can listen to stories easily on my phone. The app itself is highly functional and there are no bugs. The missing star is based on my inability to change the countdown of the hours and minutes of the books. I would like to see exactly how many hours and minutes have passed in case I fall asleep listening. I find it very difficult to scan backwards having to listen in 30 second increments b/c I know how much of the book I had listened to (based on Whispersync or just from starting up again) but when I try to get back to that place, I am only given the option to see how many minutes I have left in each chapter instead of how many I had listened to thus far in total of the book. Not sure if I am making sense here, but I have pressed every button and every setting to try and see different displays of the minutes only to see the time of each chapter while listening to the book.

- What can I say...My Audible experience is divine.

I have been an audible member since 2003. Prior to that audio books were expensive, difficult to obtain and had, of course, a correspondingly poor selection. Audible essentially helped launch a vast experiential lifestyle change. Listening to “My Audible” became a thing. As a lover of books and reading, Audible led to a vast expansion in my ability to get lost in a good book. In our busy multitasking kind of world, as much as I would like to, I rarely have time to sit and enjoy reading a book. Audible changed all that for me. Now my hour and 10 min daily commute is one of my favorite parts of my day. Now doing housework while I learn something new makes housework a super enjoyable pastime. Audible increased my Lifetime Book Score exponentially (LBS= The number of books I get to read in my lifetime and a high LBS is super important to me). How awesome is that?

- Better interface, but less user friendly

I love audiobooks and use Audible daily (unless I’m using Libby for library books). While the “Library” view has been greatly improved in many ways, it has a large flaw: the book you’re currently downloading doesn’t show up when you sort by “Recent” or filter by “Downloaded.” Previously, books that were downloading showed up as recent and appeared on the “Device” tab. Since you can start listening before a title finishes downloading, this is useful. It’s especially useful if you listen to a lot of very long books that may take a while to download, or if you’re traveling in an area with poor service. But now, if I want to start my next book, I have to search again to find it if it hasn’t finished downloading. I’ve noticed Audible has recently been removing useful features for no good reason. On the website, the Library no longer lists the date you purchased a title or allows you to sort by date. On the page for titles, it says “In your Library,” but doesn’t have the date of purchase. Maybe you can still find this information somewhere, but I can’t find it. You can no longer add items to or remove them from your wishlist from an item’s page, which makes no sense. Hovering over the Daily Deal doesn’t provide a pop up with information like for other items. Some of these are small items, but collectively they demonstrate a disregard for the customer’s convenience.

- Good Intentions

OMG I bought this book as a Daily Deal and figured the reviews indicated that it was well worth $2.95. This book is worse than terrible. The plot is convoluted, the character one dimensional, boring, stupid and, I suppose, a somewhat decent person. The narrator didn’t help. Stay away except there is one redeeming feature in this book. The book does give a good picture Nicole tees in deciding family court matters relating to children who either should be in foster care or returned to their parents. I think the book was written because of the case from last year in California where a child was returned to parents and subsequently died. I think there was a recall petition against the judge. The only reason I stuck with the agonizing eight hours of this book was that there was somewhat of a murder mystery involved. That was rather stupidly resolved, and so much of the book was just absurd. Don’t waste your time.

- Favorite app!

I love audible! The app works great. The credits are a good value. They will even refund a book you didn't like. I do wish there was more variety in the recommendations they make. Right now they recommend books by authors I've purchased multiple times (not very helpful), and the recommendations don't change often. Worse, they recommend the audio version of books I’ve already read on Kindle. It would be so easy for them to show me when I new book in a series or by a favorite author is out- instead of always seeing recommendations for every book in the series I’ve already read! The only other minor irritation is that the chapter menu is a little too easy to reach, and my phone likes to jump to another chapter. Then the chapter menu just has numbers, no titles or first words to reference, so finding my spot again isn't fun. Overall though, excellent app and a great product the company stands behind. Love it!

- Bad update

I've used this app since it was first created and I normally give it 5 stars but the most recent update has made it difficult to use I agree with 'Bad for airpods'. When you moved the output selector from the top of the screen to the space between the progress bar and the rewind/play/ff, it made it very difficult to move the progress bar or even use the rew/ff buttons, especially when the device is laying on a table and you're half asleep. Please move the output selector back to the top, increase the spacing between the three rows or refine the touch focus. As it is now, 95% of the time I try to rewind, it flips to the bluetooth output selection screen. Also, please bring back the ‘jump by chapter’ feature. I used that all the time, especially when I fell asleep listening to the book. It’s highly annoying to watch the developers take a great app and bit by bit, remove functionality. It almost seems like they are changing it just to be changing it. When something is working well, why change it?? I’m just very disappointed. BAD MOVE AUDIBLE!!

- Love audible

Don’t believe the claim you can return books if dissatisfied. I use my credits to down load books to see and hear if the fit my need. I have found out that by doing this I lost my option to exchange books on the app. They make you feel like a criminal. I am new to audible. I have used the kindle unlimited read and listen borrowing books but was limited to listening title. I found audible and was swept away with choices . I don’t feel comfortable in my ability to return my choices that were not right for me. I must know call in each time. VERY frustrating. I have kept kindle unlimited and have added audible Escape. I’ve called and have been assured I can call in or use their site. It is because I tried too many books. I love the audible and listen choices but I’m technically challenged. Some seniors like myself want an easy solution.

- This Audio is Amazing!

The trick to getting the full benefit of these type of Audio’s is to return to them until you feel rejuvenated from the mind, to the soul and the entire body! There’s truly a magic in the art of releasing and surrendering to the divine, I still have some areas to work on so you already know I’ll be back. I’ll also have you know another vital trick, whenever your mind seems to simply wonder, that’s the area it’s actually working on. Don’t get worked up over the distractions. Your mind will naturally work through them. This Audio is truly magnificent and life changing! I can literally see and feel the new shifts my life is taking me through as the days progress and this is only the second day. Take ale your time, have patience with yourself trust me, you won’t regret it, and now I’ll end this review by sending you a roaring wave 🌊 of positive energy 🌻, love ❤️ and light ✨!

- Sort by series + in app volume booster

I’m happy that you can now use credits in the app, even if you can’t buy them in the app for some reason, but there’s two issues preventing a full 5-star review. 1. I have to turn the volume up very loud to hear most narrators compared to other apps, so when I get a phone call or alert it deafens me every time. This is aggravating, especially since there is a volume slider but for some stupid reason it adjusts the volume on everything so you can’t get audible narration without everything else being at blow-your-eardrums level. 2. Your library shows every book, even ones you have gotten refunded and no longer own. You can imagine how cluttered this makes ones library. In addition to removing refunded books from the library, putting books in series in one listing that one could open like a folder would reduce the clutter and make sorting less of a joke. I have a 54-book series that could be one listing in order but instead they randomly float in my library based on when I listened to them or accidentally pressed them trying to get to another book. These are both very small but very aggravating problems which would be easy to fix and improve user experiences drastically, so it’s frustrating they haven’t been fixed by now, it’s like the developers don’t even use their own app.

- Good App but has some issues

Since I first joined Audible, 6 years ago, the App has come along immensely-so many improvements. But, there are basics that never seem to be resolved…such as being able to put finished books in the back of the virtual bookshelf so that unread books are the first ones I see. I tend to buy series all at once…I wish the books in a long series (Jack Reacher, Vince Flynn, Handyman Jack etc) showed where in the series the book falls. I can download 6 books out of a 15 book series yet have to go back to my computer to see what I should listen to next. Basically, since eye surgery had such a dismal effect on my vision, I’d be nuts without Audible. I buy at least 15 books a month (yeah it’s a disease) and get hooked on authors or narrators. I appreciate that Audible lets me return books I can’t get into..but I do wish there were some issuesthat would be fixed.

- The moment of lift by Melinda Gates

It was an interesting journey to see the world through her eyes. I knew of her philanthropy work and had just left it at that. I was amazed to see her work on woman’s rights in this particular way (reproduction) seeing as the Catholic Church isn’t much of an advocate and she’s Catholic herself. I wasn’t expecting to cry so much while I listened to all her accounts of the world she was witnessing. For a moment I was heartbroken and devastated by how women are treated in other countries. Then she points out those little truths that no one wants to hear, the U.S is still the only country that doesn’t offer universal healthcare. She also pointed out that we’re going backwards on women’s reproductive rights instead of forward. I’m sure I would have enjoyed it more had it been an actual book and not an audio. The part where she states her statistics got lost in my brain, I needed to see those on paper. That’s why I gave it 4 out of 5 stars. Overall good book.

- The Best User Interface

I absolutely LOVE using Audible when I drive. 🥰 It is SO addicting and the user interface of the Audible app is gold. SO simple and to the point however I wish I could purchase books within the app. Anyways it is very easy to use and I appreciate the car screen, not that I look at my phone while I drive but sometimes at a stoplight I can rewind 20 sec if I missed something. I pay the monthly membership and to me it is worth it because individual prices of audiobooks are much more expensive! Super life changing... even when I’m in the shower I’ll turn on Audible or while I am doing household chores. It’s a great way to disconnect from streaming tv shows and come back to the real world 🌎 Yes public libraries offer free audiobooks you can stream but I hate being limited so Audible fills in the gaps when my library does not have a book I want to listen to. 😊

- Can no longer filter out finished

Now, I do love Audible and have always given them 5 stars and will continue to recommend it to my friends. I am, however, giving this latest update 1 star in hopes that they will consider changing or adding this feature back. We were always able to filter out books that we’ve finished so they aren’t included when trying to figure out what story to start next. I have hundreds of audiobooks of which I’ve finished a lot, but have just as many that I have not finished. I’ve also started some and decided I was looking for something different so I would bounce around. They removed the option to hide all the finished books so I have to go through them all. If I select “unfinished” it filters out both finished and anything I’ve started. It’s seems like a small complaint but to me it’s huge. Why would we want to filter out all books but the ones we’ve finished? Once they are finished I don’t normally look at them again unless it’s so good I listen again or recommend to a friend. Add an option to filter out the finished books.

- The app!

I love audible. I have found some gliches with use of the app both through the iphone and the watch. I was so excited when i found there was an app for use on the watch but was disappointed in its function. Every time I take off the watch or not use the app for a time the book I'm listening to goes back to chapter one. Frustrating! Also the watch book and the iPhone book don't sync so if i want to continue listening on my phone i have to find out where I left off on the watch and manually find that location in the phone. I removed the watch app and went back to just the phone but even that doesn't work that well with starting and stopping narration with the watch. We could use some glitch fixes from audible. That being said i love audible and will continue using it as i have been for the last 12+ years!!

- Audible keeps removing app features

Update: Thanks for listening, Audible! The chapter skip buttons have been added back to the listening screen. It’s a small thing, but much appreciated! Original: I have been a long time Audible user, and as far as actually listening to my audiobooks, I give the app five stars. However, I’m not sure why the app designers keep taking away super useful features. It’s been a while, but the first was to move the clips/bookmarks button to the “More” screen. More recently, they removed the on-screen volume button, and today I noticed they’ve removed the ability to tap on the book cover to switch between the jump forward/back options. It’s ridiculous to have to scroll through a bunch of chapters to just go back one. PLEASE, Audible, bring these features back!! I see I’m not the only one missing them.

- My Favorite App

Although I’m biased as a huge audiobook fan, this is my favorite app. I use it everyday and over the past year or so the incremental updates have made the app better. I have never once thought about the updates to the interface/features as something to add to the learning curve or take away from the functionality of the app. I’ve been happy to see each change! One request that would make me even happier is to have the ability to see progress made on the book in the main interface rather than having to “Share Progress.” I track my reading sessions with Bookly, and the ability to see % completed on the title’s screen while playing would be an added benefit! Quite frankly if you incorporate the tracking abilities on Audible in real time, I think that would be a massive plus instead of us having to use other apps in parallel.

- Helps maximize my time

I really enjoy audible. This a very entertaining, relaxing & educating part of my day. Hope my suggestion is welcomed, If an additional option was added, similar to wishlist, a section where note could be stored, like authors and/or genres and sub genres I enjoy. With links to easily navigate to these list, would lead to me listing to more of what entertains me. These are already somewhat in place, after I finish a book, i am presented with suggestions but that list is lost the moment I navigate away. If i could store that info, author, genre, etc, would allow me to easily return & pickup my reading without the frustration having to research further enjoyable reading and just jump back in. Suggestive algorithms are nice and all but have a tendency of giving me things that I don’t find enjoyable. Thank you for your time reviewing my suggestion & enjoy your night.

- The app keeps crashing

Crashes Everytime I change the chapter. Constantly skips through the chapters as if I'm fast forwarding it but I'm not touching the forward button at all. Have to try over and over again and sometimes it will finally play right. Then, for whatever reason every time this happens Siri pops up to interrupt the process even more. All this Only happens when I'm in this app. Update: I had to turn Siri off to use the audible app. I never use Siri anyway... But for those experiencing this problem that use Siri may not like to have to do this. In addition, Siri only acts up (even now sometimes when she's supposed to be shut off) when I use headphones that are plugged in...I restarted my phone a few times and that seemed to help. If I use my airpods I never have issues. Whether it's a glitch of audible or I glitch of apple, it was all really annoying.

- Good but some serious flaws

**Further update** This app went from good to bad. Reset my phone and reloaded audible then synced my most recent book to Apple Watch series 4. I was midway through the book but after sync the book began at chapter 1 duplicated all chapter (book has 22 chapters now there are 42!). Worse even is that the chapters are not corresponding to spoken text. Eg when I tap on chapter 16 the spoken chapter is 1. This is VERY BAD. Uninstalling until fixed. Downgrading stars as well. Love that I can leave my phone at home while walking or running. Have listened to three books synced to my series 4 Apple Watch. All three books mid way thru began playing from the beginning on the watch. Another issue that needs to be fixed is not an error that I can tell but really a limit in functionality. When listening on phone I can’t operate any controls from the watch (eg rewind it fast forward or play or pause). Considering that most apps allow this functionality between watch and phone this seems like an oversight. 5 stars once these issues are rectified. Even at three stars this is a great app.

- Great app if the settings are right, would love to see a few more features

The pros: I really like Audible, their subscription plan, and how easy it is to use and navigate. It’s also so nice to be able to download books from this app to my watch. I like that Audible is compatible with CarPlay for listening as you drive as well. I’m also so appreciative that the books you have already purchased are still yours to keep even if you cancel your subscription. The cons: Unfortunately, in late July 2020, the app was crashing so often that I couldn’t use it anymore. I was able to fix the problem (thanks to advice from the developer) by going into my settings for Audible and turning off access to Media and Apple Music. To be honest, I feel like I shouldn’t have to go into my settings and change something for the app simply to work at all. Still, it’s hardly any effort to fix that in my settings, so it’s OK. I would love to see an easier way to browse items on my wish list—like a dedicated page rather than having to scroll horizontally through one line to see all my wish list items. Overall, the subscription system and ease of use makes Audible my go-to audiobook app when I can’t get the book I want on my library app Libby, but there are still a few changes I would love to see made by developers.

- Only one thing missing!

I love the variety of the books available. Most of my favorite authors are here and I have my favorite narrators who lead me into gems I wouldn’t have tried otherwise. I take advantage of the many sales and the audible daily deal often, so l have a large library. And that leads me to the only one missing thing. With so many titles and authors in my library I can’t remember them all. I love to reread or re listen especially when the next book in the series comes out. Sometimes I want to just relax and listen to something I’ve already heard in a certain genre or even a specific category in a genre. But there’s no way to search my library by genre or category. I might remember a series I’ve heard that’s set in a certain place and want to find it but can’t remember any titles or authors. Please Audible give us better ways to search our libraries!

- Great, but frustrating

Audible is the best service for audiobooks, hands down. And the app does a fine job playing books. Unfortunately, it does have a few annoying quirks. First of all, it doesn’t seem to sync quite as well as my Kindle app, so a lot of the time that ends up having the wrong “furthest page read”. Also, it opens to a home screen that is pretty much the same as the audible store online, even though 90% of the time, I want to listen to a book when I open the app, not buy a book (I mean, I only get one credit a month, how often do they think I browse books?). That would be fine, but it can’t load if I have a bad internet connection, and it has this pop up that says “would you like to just go to your library?” Of course I would! I never wanted this stupid home page in the first place! Until a few weeks ago, I couldn’t even buy anything from that home page, and they still decided it was a good place to open the app to.

- Audible Rocks!!!

Audio learning is my main method. It works father for me than reading- although I do read and enjoy reading. Yet, I am able to get through material faster using audio and tend to retain more this way. For an even more powerful method, combining audio with visual provides an unbeatable platform to take in information of interest. The only drawback I can tell is that using audio alone, you don’t have the books; and, I like the smell and feel of books. Although, they do tend to build up and clutter space and are heavy which has proven to be a significant problem when moving. Comparing the two individually, audio is superior (for me). Audible itself is great! Just about any book can be found on Audible. And, considering the cost, it is by far cheaper to purchase books on Audible than in a book store or online ordering. They have a seamless refund policy too. You can try out the book and if you don’t like it you can return it for full credit. You get a free book every month with your subscription and that is enough to cover the low cost of the subscription. You never loose credits and can accumulate them for later use. And, there is an endless amount of free material of very high quality to boot! I cannot praise Audible enough. For me, it’s a must to have and maintain (subscription wise).

- Problem?

I love Audible! I prefer to listen to books (At the gym, when walking outdoors, when cleaning house, doing laundry, etc.), and Audible provides the best, most user-friendly platform. better than Libby or Chirp or others. That said, I’ve noticed over the past month or so I have noticed that when listening to Audible in my car (using CarPlay), if I back up the story to catch something I have missed, the app continues to back up while I only hear gibberish, all the way to the beginning of the book. I have even tried stopping the playback, and turning off my story. I’m taking all the way back to the beginning even on my iPhone. You can especially imagine my angst as I am driving, and have been so absorbed in the story that I have no recollection of what chapter I was listening to. I have to wait until I pull over to attempt to find where I was. I hope this is a glitch that can be identified and rectified.

- NY Times Audio Digest

This is a great way to “read” The NY Times but I find the narrator to be less than satisfactory, and that’s putting it mildly. He consistently mispronounces words - perhaps the most obvious blemish - but to a trained ear, one can hear other weaknesses that seriously detract from the product. He never reads serial commas correctly, and this is likely attributable to what can only be described as a very stilted reading style. Indeed, that’s the larger problem: he’s reading when he should be telling. He’s looking at printed words rather than thinking of how it sounds, how listeners hear it. Yes, it’s journalism and reporting, but these are stories and the exercise should be storytelling, not reading. It’s not something one is likely to adjust to and I’m not talking about reading the article like a bedtime story. Either you can tell the story or you can’t, which means you’re stuck with a pretty dull reading when many stories cry out for much more.

- Great for listening...

This app works wonderfully for listening to audio books which is why I rated it two stars but for interacting with audible as a whole it’s terrible and it’s part of the reason I don’t believe audible is flourishing A major flaw in the app is that you can’t purchase books from it, you have to log into audible on the web browser to purchase or review an books. If you were able to not only purchase but also review books from the app I feel like the number of reviews on books would go up as well as the number of books purchased. My other issue I have isn’t so much with the app as it is with the people they get to read some of these great books! So many are completarla ruined by boring drab readers that seem so jaded to the whole process. I would love to purchase the GOT series on here however the narrator just from the sample bores me to death, and it’s not just that one series. So many books are under represented or poorly represented by narrators that give the novels no contextual life.

- Why has it become LESS user friendly?

The last few updates have made it harder to navigate the app and view my books. There have been LOTS of unnecessary changes with these latest updates. The app has become aggravating to use. I get that you’re always trying to make changes and make things perfect, but you went a bit too far this time. I think this was this first big update I have been truly displeased with. You know the one change that would be awesome? The one function that I have been wanting to see since I began using Audible YEARS ago? To queue a new book. I will often listen to a book while I am washing dishes, taking a shower, hiking, etc. If I am close to the end of a book and my hands aren’t free to start a new one when it finishes... it’s really frustrating. Is it really too much to ask for that function? I know I’m not the only one who desires this, I’ve seen others make similar comments and requests in reviews. It could be the one change to make all the crappy changes bearable.

- One tap chapter to second skip gone!😢

I wish I wouldn’t have downloaded this new version. It’s the whole reason why I don’t have automatic downloads selected in my phone settings so I can read reviews before I download the latest version. So this new version in order to switch between chapter and second fast forward or rewind you now have to go into settings to change it rather than just a single tap. I use both multiple times in one reading experience so this is extremely frustrating to me. I am not reading regular novels most of the time, but books more for learning where I often rewind to relisten to something and also skip back and forth between different chapters depending on my desires at the time. If I were just listening to a mystery novel with a storyline this wouldn’t be a problem, but with what I listen to it is a huge problem that is almost a dealbreaker. Another thing that is upsetting is a lot of my bookmarks were lost. I put a lot of time into my bookmarks and it’s devastating to come back and have much of them lost. Though this didn’t all happen in just the last update but rather a year or more ago. Other than that Audible is a fabulous app and a pleasant experience. Please bring back the one tap change from chapter to “seconds” fast forward and rewind. At least make it easier where one can do it on the main screen. Then I will change it to a 5 star review. Much ❤️

- New homepage is terrible, more isn’t always better

I love audiobooks and audible is great but I really hate the new homepage feature. It’s an extra step to get to the actual books I’m listening to in the name of showing me ads for books I don’t care about. It makes the app significantly less functional and you can’t even go into settings and set to always open to your library as default. Not only that but in addition to being poorly laid out and full of things I don’t care about I don’t even understand the point because you can’t buy books through the app. The app is not designed for browsing and I don’t think it should be. It’s for listening to the stuff you’ve already bought and paid for. When I want to listen to a book I’m in the middle of there is a 0% chance I’m going to see a different book I don’t own, put down my phone, go on my computer and get on the audible website and look up some other book. The new layout is so frustrating to me that I seriously think I’m going to roll back this update and go back to a version that doesn’t have it.
