It sure feels like summer: look at all those bugs! Eeek! Fortunately, we got our PhDs in Bug-killing, so we rolled up our sleeves and got to work.
Fix: We had some issues with closed captions while casting. For starters, caption settings were greyed out; however, you could still toggle between On and Off. Confusing, right? If somehow you figured out that you could still select On and you were expecting it to work, bad news: closed captions would not appear on the videos you were casting. Sorry about that. We killed that bug as soon as we spotted it, so everything should work smoothly now.
Fix: Oh right. There was another casting bug. If you clicked the Cast icon mid-playback, the video would start playing from the beginning. It should definitely start from the position you were. We went ahead and got rid of that one too.
Why is it that with every new update the app works even worst than before. My video is playing and then I get a pop up that says an error has been encountered and I’m forced to exit. This was not a problem before, it needs to be fixed other wise it’s pointless to have this subscription. Again I didn’t have a problem until this update.
Hulu has a lot of good tv shows to watch but even if you pay for the “commercial free” plan you still get commercials here and there! It also doesn’t load like EVER! It takes so long to load movies and shows and always logs you out consistently. Sometimes I can’t even get it to work on certain TVs. So many downsides😐 just stick to Netflix
Sometimes my WiFi goes out. It would be nice to still stream with phone data if we have unlimited data. Mine says I’m not online if I try to. There’s no setting for this in manage account either.
Without HDMI support you're useless to me Update: Great, you finally got HDMI support. However, I can't make it through one set of commercials without the app freezing up. Unfortunately still useless as is. A little move hopeful for the future though. Still 1 star for now.
Honestly, I love top chef. Which is why I have Hulu. But lately every time I close my iPad and reopen, I have to force quit Hulu and reopen to get it to play :/ hoping a fix is in the works. I already subscribe to too many streaming apps, this one would be the first to go.
Constantly have to log in after it says error. No problem ever with Netflix. It skips forward if you try to hit pause in”wrong spot” so annoying
Why should I have to log in to my home WiFi to use the app? This is the stupidest thing ever and it needs to be changed.
It’s so frustrating watching the commercials over and over when you pause or cast. I see there is a fix now for it. I would just like to not have to start over or fast forward to the part I was at every time I pause out of the program. I actually just stopped watching completely. One of the most frustrating experiences ever.
This app constantly has to be paused to allow the audio to sync with the video. The Android version works fine on my Samsung tablet. The iPad version crashes at least once during a one hour show.
Unless you use in-app purchases, prepare to have to call customer service to cancel your subscription where they will put it on you before admitting any fault of their own. Canceling your free trial is immediate, so anticipate being charged for your next month in order to try it out for the full period. In contrast, canceling paid service means “you’ll have access to Hulu until the end of your billing cycle” however I’ve found that not to be true. I suspect this is a bug, lack of clarity, or a usability concern. When I called this out the response was to use Hulu’s community feedback which you can only use if you’re a subscriber. Hulu actively goes out of their way to make cancellation hard and unclear which may dissuade former customers from returning.
I can’t see not even one whole episode of any serie without my the app getting offline. I have to turn off my WiFi and then back on so the app can work again. I know it’s the app and not my WiFi because this does not happen and never has happened with Netflix. Very frustrating...
When I was casting to chromecast, episodes and movies would restart every time! The new update fixed this and I’m super happy now with the services. Thank you!!
Why is it so hard to get full screen on my iPhone? Is there anyone who wants to watch their show on a tiny box with a menu taking up 4/5 of the screen showing options of other things they could be watching? Why is that the default? The box to pop it out usually takes several tries, if it works at all. Please switch that back to full screen once I hit play. I’ll bump up my stars once it’s not a battle to watch every single show.
It's so frustrating and forces you to rewatch ads if you accidently rewind
After I updated my Hulu app it barely plays and says that there is a connection error all the time, even when I have full service. Needs another new update to fix the issues that it’s having

Love the app, and didn't start having issues until recently. Now, the audio will keep playing and the video will continue, but the visual sticks on one frame. I have to kill the app and restart it almost every episode.
WHY is there no way to save my login info so I don't have to type it in manually each time I open the app? So annoying.
