Scam. Task rabbit is a scam. I wanted two tasks done, 2 hours each, the first is weeding and the second was heavy lifting because we planned on cleaning out the garage. Got a cooler and everything together for our tasker Corey near Vacaville CA. And he never replied the day of, and canceled 40 minutes past his assigned meeting time. And you aren’t able to find a new tasker the day of. So we decided we’d still have time the following day to get someone to do the weeding especially after my mother in law and I did all the heavy lifting that day we definitely wouldn’t be able to bend down to weed. We’ll Robert (who of which has his profile saying he’s done 37 different yard tasks) said he’d get back to me, never did, I tried calling and leaving messages and he no showed. So the only thing task rabbit has done for me is block of a time frame to wait for a tasker to show up that never will even though they claim to be hard working. Do I have to book multiple people at the same time and hope one of them shows up??

Disgraced Don’t be freaking shocked about reviews. They don’t tell you ahead of time about the Trust and Safety fee it’s ridiculous. I allowed my daughter to use my credit card because we could not find any help from any family or friends to help her move. They charged $200 per hour then they added the trust and safety fee of $65 way more than tax wow. Then my daughter needed her air conditioner installed and one of the movers said to my daughter that she can use the same app they supposed to only charged her $80, all he did was take 20 minutes not 2 hrs but no they charged $200 his name was Calvin Xavier F. Over charged in currently disputing This now. I can’t believe this company. I’m glad it worked out for others but it didn’t work out for us at all. I’m giving this app horrible reviews stop stealing honest hard working people’s money this is insane!!!!!! I am not a happy customer. I need you to reread the email my daughter did not see any of those fees in the beginning it was seen after wards had we known that those charges would be assessed we would not have hired you guys at all. Now stealing an hour Mr. Calvin-Xavier F he didn’t work for two (2) hours he worked for 20 minutes I want the full hours reimbursement for the extra hour that he lied about doing.

Beware of TaskRabbit if something goes wrong. Beware beware beware!!! It’s all good until it isn’t with this company then you won’t get any help from them! I hired a guy for 1 hour to caulk a bathroom. The Tasker showed up almost 2 hours late then did not know what he was doing. The Tasker messed up the project and had to redo it twice then charged me for the whole time he was there also the Tasker took an hour and a half break and still I got charged. I called task rabbit customer service and they said there’s nothing they could do and that they would review this and get back to me in the next few coming weeks. The customer service during this process as been terrible. I had to call my credit card company and block task rabbit. Update: customer service said there is nothing they can do for me. The tasker came over but didn’t do the job he promised and charged 600$ and customer service won’t do anything. This is insane. I showed them pictures and receipts of things the tasker ruined in my house and still customer service is saying they can’t do anything. Never use this app again!!!

I love the app. There’s is only one downside. The app is great if your a customer, however speaking from experience they do not value the Tasker as much as they should. I get customers keep the lights on but so do tasters. I was a Tasker Once. I provided excellent service to all my clients. I had plenty of great reviews and repeat clients. As a multi service professional a find it ridiculous that all it took was one grumpy client and a miss understanding to have my account deactivated. When trying to contact someone about the issue it is impossible to get through to someone. It was my main source of income and they were able to take it away in a blink of an eye. Never mind all the great experiences I left clients with. Having kids to take care I was devastated. Since then I have learned new skills in the home improvement sector with plenty of 5 star reviews on thumbtack & HomeAdvisor. I still refer people to task rabbit regardless of how I was treated so that others can have the opportunity to make money. Thanks for everything

Long-term bugs. iOS app development cycle needs to be reviewed. I would be giving this app a higher review if it were brand new and still experiencing first year growing pains. However: the Taskrabbit app is 10 years old! I have been using the app for several years, and have seen bugs persist for months if not years on end, even being passed on from one head of development to the next. One of the most frustrating ones is sorting Taskers by positive reviews. What gets returned is something barely resembling any kind of sort. Taskers with both numerically lower ratings and fewer completed tasks routinely appear above Taskers with higher ratings and more completed tasks. If a user asks for a sort by positive reviews, that is what should be listed. Either the development team hasn’t been able to fix this very basic and core app function for several years, or they are using some incredibly obscure and un-asked for secret sauce to rank Taskers by parameters other than average rating + completed tasks (ie substituting what the user wants with taskrabbit’s own ranking preferences). An app that has been around this long should have 100 % of its long-term bugs ironed out. If the development team has too much on its plate to work on existing app issues, then that is a sign that Taskrabbit HQ should invest in its own product and expand the iOS/app development team so that it can properly handle all aspects of app development, including UX and quality control.

Damaged my apartment then made “offers” to compensate. I have been a user of this service for ~5 years. I’ve forgiven a significant amount of mistakes or damages over that time, including when I was woken up by the Gas Department because a Tasker left the gas on in my apartment the night before or when their massive data breach exposed millions of customers data. This week was the first time I ever complained to them that I expected a refund. My closet was completely destroyed by one of their reps. The shelf, bars, and everything on either collapsed after the Tasker loaded my entire wardrobe on two bars because she couldn’t reach the other level and never told me. I asked TR to refund me the cost of the cleaning and for $100 to hire a new Tasker to organize my closet since my building already repaired the hardware. Instead of providing any assistance, they continued to make “offers” to reduce the amount they would pay me. Their “final offer” is only equivalent to the cost of the Task which was never completed. I originally hired them to save me time from having to clean my apartment, but now it’s 10xs worse and I’m going to have to pay more for someone to fix the mess resulting from their incompetence. TR lost a loyal customer today because I will never trust your service again.

Very hit or miss. So I got a response to my review. Don’t believe that they’re helpful you’ll get a long email that says Taskrabbit is just a platform and all of the movers are independent contractors. I spent $200 For incomplete service. Nothing that I asked to be done was done . I had to hire someone else to finish the job! Taskrabbit will not help you in anyway or provide a credit. You’ll just get a standard message that they’re sorry this happened to you but there’s nothing they can do . so it’s a gamble to have reliable people and a stranger in your house. If you’re a woman by yourself and there’s a man that’s over 6 feet tall insisting that they are done what are you supposed to do? Just go to the legitimate moving company way. You’ll be left out there without any funds, incomplete job. ——— My latest Taskrabbit was not a good experience. I booked someone for days out and of course the morning of I get a last-minute cancellation. They take no responsibility in verifying movers. I have a very heavy item that needed to be moved. The tasker looked at least 30 to 40 years younger than the man who showed up. And result my furniture item is in my living room and I’m going to have to hire someone else! $200 wasted.

Inherently unsafe. This app and its workers are inherently unsafe. That became apparent to me after a dispute with a “Tasker” about a cancellation, who then threatened me by coming to my home (TR gives your address to anyone on their platform). There are no guarantees that “Taskers” have gone through background checks, making the app even more sketchy. It would not have occurred to me this would have been an issue by reading reviews (all of them extremely positive of the Tasker in question), until he threatened me and my family. I called TaskRabbit to help. They told me to call my local authorities, ‘who would look into the matter.’ I asked what sort of information could/should I give, and TR said that I could give a first name and first initial of the offender’s last name. That was the only support they would give. Less it to say, I will never use TR again and will not only be calling my local authorities but my local newspaper, lawyer and friends too. It would be a shame to see anyone hurt by such a platform that has so little regard for safety.

New User. I have known about TaskRabbit for a few years. I even knew a Tasker. I moved to Miami Beach two months ago. I needed a number of different taskers. I had trouble navigating the site. I was becoming frustrated and feared I would never get the help I needed. I called customer service and Kenny turned my frown into a huge smile. I was being quite dense. She never lost patience. She walked me through everything, and she did not stop until she was assured I was being served well. She actually completed the assigning of a Tasker for deep cleaning the very next day. She explained how to request the same Tasker and how to secure other Taskers. She ended by telling me to call at anytime if I needed any help at all. If Kenny and Estella (my deep clean Tasker) are representative of TaskRabbit’s work ethic and the quality of its services, then TaskRabbit is a stellar service company indeed.

Hit or miss. Listen, I would give less stars but I had an absolutely amazing first experience using task rabbit. I moved a peloton from the lower east side to uptown without any issue, and my tasker was a really really good guy whose number I still keep on file. But since then, the quality has dropped off almost entirely. In the last week alone I’ve had three people cancel on me last minute after confirming their availability with me both within the app and via the subsequent text messages. The app does not allow you to reach back out once a tasker just arbitrarily cancels, there is no recompense, and the most I can do (and have done) is flag the tasker for cancelling last minute. Today was the last straw as a gentleman confirmed and scheduled a time with me officially, prior to cancelling within an hour and providing no warning. I am only moving a handful of things 13 miles. I have spent upwards of an hour on hold, with no indication that anyone is on the other end of task rabbit’s customer service line, there’s not even a friendly line order announcement, just elevator music for over an hour.

Can’t rate no shows. I tried to use Task Rabbit, painstakingly went over each person’s profile and history, looked through available times, and chose “Abby B” for cleaning. I wrote a very long and detailed explanation of what I needed done (just a deep clean for my kitchen). I spent way too much of my personal time making sure to include every detail, because I was going to be at work when she would arrive. I received a call from my husband that she never showed about an hour after the scheduled time, which was 11am. I proceeded to go to the app because I hadn’t received any notifications that something was wrong. The app gave me a screen that said my tasker couldn’t do the task at 12:04pm, showing the current time, not the scheduled time. It offered a link to find a new tasker. All I can say is that I’m super frustrated that I’m unable to let others know that this girl is a complete flake. This is a serious problem with this app and (lack of) service. I do NOT recommend using Task Rabbit for any task. There are plenty of other apps out there that have methods in place to ensure your job gets done by someone in the event of a no-show or cancellation.

TaskRabbit is great!. I have used this app a couple of times now and found it to be extremely helpful. There are some things you think you can do and never get around to, especially if you have ADHD. This app removes all of the procrastinations a person like me goes through. It feels like I accomplished so much in so little time and that is worth the reasonably priced fee and expense. What I did was go through the list of people that were available and wrote down their star rating, number of jobs and price per task then picked the one that had the reviews that related the best to my situation. The only thing I would add to this app is the ability to select a few talkers so I could compare them within the app. I also like the fact that all the money stuff is online.

Frustrating. My experience with TaskRabbit has been terrible. I’ve been trying to hire someone to pick up and deliver an exercise bike (less than a mile away). You can’t start chatting with a Tasker or confirm their price and availability until you actually book the job (at which point a hold is placed on your credit card). The Tasker wrote back to say he would read the job description and get back to me but he took two days to reply (even though I sent him polite reminders). When he does get back he quotes 5x his hourly rate. I cancel the task and go through the same steps with 3 other taskers until I find someone whose quote is more reasonable (only 2.5x his hourly rate). The job is booked and confirmed and I’ve got the guy at the pick up address all ready to go and then hours before the job the Tasker cancels with no explanation. So I’m back on the app trying to find someone else and it’s the same problem with having to make the booking before price and availability can be confirmed only to find that they’re quoting 4-5x their hourly rates. I wasted hours and hours on this app for nothing. I ended up picking the bike up myself and grabbing an Uber which cost $15. Very disappointed experience with TaskRabbit and no option to leave reviews for taskers who cancelled last minute.

App is extremely hard, and often impossible to use with a screen reader. Please, please please make your app accessible for those of us who don’t read the screen! Buttons need to be labeled as buttons. I cannot use the chat function. I cannot use the link that is given in the reply. There is one page on the website that comes up with catalog button and it gives you a description of what that is. There are mini mini, mini other things that are confusing and don’t support a screenreader. If you don’t know where the screen reader is, that you have more problems than it would be easy to fix. A screenreader is a text to speech engine that runs on operating systems. Or Apple, it is called voiceover and is available on all Apple products. I am using an iPhone 13 Pro with the latest operating system. I know you guys could do better. There are, I’m sure, lots of people who cannot read the screen, who would greatly benefit from your app. This means that you are a losing potential customers. that said, I have an able to schedule and utilize to test scores who were terrific. But the communication was difficult, because I could not participate in the chat. Often you have what seems to be buttons, but they’re not named in your coding as buttons and probably they’re not normal buttons, so in that case, you have to name them as buttons. Please get back to me with a response.

Task charged my credit card even after Eina said they would not charge.. Task charged my credit card even after Eina said they would not charge. Jason was difficult, did not listen to what I wanted, he showed up 8 minutes late and immediately cut me off to start telling me what he was going to do instead of asking what I wanted done. While he was stepping past me and talking about his plans he picked up my equipment including my pencil and measuring tape and started marking on my wood that I had bought....very unprofessional. I told him to stop because he had not heard what I wanted done, he cut me off and said 'do you want me to leave?' I answered YES! He did not leave and started making aggressive body movements. I told him I wanted him to leave my house and I placed the cancel order. I had to call the police because Jason did not leave 10 minutes later after I asked him to go, he was looking around my garage and just stopping in certain spots...kinda creepy. He finally got in his car in my garage after I got on the phone with the police. I walked out to the drive way and Jason revved his car and sped up the car towards me, hitting the breaks on his car only feet away from me....I was scared by his crazy behavior and I'm having second thoughts about using task rabbit.

Major issues with payment & crazy high fees.. Overall, it’s a good concept, but I’ve probably used this app for the last time. In the olden days, their “trust and support fee” was very fair and reasonable. But now it’s like 35% and they’re difficult to get in touch with or a response from. There is no phone number. Using the chat rarely gets you live help and sometimes they respond to emails and sometimes they don’t. I think 35% for a platform with poor service, is unreasonable - especially given their biggest job is computers processing payments and them just deducting more fees. I hired someone to help move some furniture. The labor for this last job was about $75. There was a truck rental fee for $87. With the fees it totaled $191. The fees are just on the labor (I think??) But the real kicker was when I tried to send a tip the only way to do it is to choose from 5 options: no tip, 10%, 15%, 20% or 25%, ON THE TOTAL!!! Why no custom percentage and no custom dollar amount options??? I was happy to tip 20% or even more, for the labor, but not on the Taskrabbit fees (obviously Taskrabbit thinks they deserve this tip) and a tip on the truck rental. The “help” section says “ Taskers receive 100% of their tips” which probably means that Taskrabbit must keep the tip on their service fee and probably on the expenses and taskers probably just get the tip on the labor. I find this abominable and utterly lacking in integrity. What a massive scam.

User and Tasker. I have been contemplating becoming a Tasker because of all the negative reviews that there are. But what I realized it’s all people complaining about something they didn’t take the time to read. I highly SUGGEST to read that fine print before anything. Nothing is actually hidden it’s all in writing and the additional fees ALSO vary in certain states as well so you should probably read that too. As for the Tasker that don’t show? Well again contract states use at your own risks and when you sign up and accept terms it states they are not responsible for the taskers and if they sho up. We all know you can’t trust everyone but I do hope there are others out there that are good trustworthy people. Taskers- don’t accept jobs if you know you can’t do. Users- ask your questions on capability or just hire a professional at double the cost

Use at your own risk— try Thumbtack instead. Things happen. Home improvements are a messy but common needs that are usually headaches depending on who you work with. I scheduled a service for simple mounting of shelves. Tasker didn’t show up. Ok maybe something happened. The craziest part is the customer support. I chatted with a Jesmine about the situation and all she could say was oops you may have lost the entire morning waiting for service but we aren’t in control of the contractors who use our app and we certainly can’t hold them accountable to best practices on the app. No remedy, no help with finding someone else, no consideration to a user like me who is paying for service. USE THIS PLATFORM AT YOUR OWN RISK. Expect contractors to upcharge significantly for service due to platform use fees. I was thoroughly surprised by the hourly rates that were nearly 30% more than what would be charged using an app like Thumbtack. Disappointed is an understatement. Now let me go find some competent and reliable help for my very common household installation needs. Yikes. Terrible experience and poor customer service.

Love the service, hate the app.. The idea behind task rabbit is great. I have hired taskers to help me with all kinds of stuff and have largely been pleased. There have been incidents where taskers cancelled last minute or added on fees without my consent, but I had the power to say so in my review. I have been less pleased with the app. The booking experience doesn’t flow well, it is difficult to view a tasker’s reviews, and there are frustrating glitches. I just spent 5 minutes writing a review then I went to submit it and I got an “Oops, something went wrong message.” I tried to figure out if my review was posted, but could not even find a way to see the reviews for the tasker in question. The app then had the audacity to ask how I was enjoying the app. The people responsible for ensuring this app works correctly should seek other means of employment. Web developers, if a previous Task Rabbit IT employee comes to you seeking employment, I encourage you to take a hard pass.

Meh, good I guess. The taskers we’ve used over the last year or so have been great. That alone could’ve gotten a 5-star review. However……….the app itself is awful. I don’t feel like the organization of all the available tasks is in proper functioning order. There needs to be more categories or sub-categories within. But the only reason I’m even writing a review is to tell the company to PLEASE fix/adjust how you close out of taskers “portfolio” photos. I was looking at an electricians photos of his past installs, and there’s no “X” to close out, and so far about 98% of the time you can’t touch or swipe out of the photo, so each time I’ve had to just force close the app and go back and find what I was looking at before, then squint to see the photos because I can’t open them without being stuck there. I’m no app developer by any means, but I did take a website design/building course in college and I know it is IMMENSELY easy to add buttons to a website, and that was 2013. I assume for developers, adding an “X” to close out of a photo should be a cake walk. Please^27 add that, or make a gesture accessible to close out.

Misinformed and disrespected. This app was difficult to navigate and provided misinformation about pricing and the roles of gaskets. The security fee in order to reach any tasker is unnecessarily high. My first tasker cancelled on me without any explanation. The next tasker I booked it charged me an additional security fee. This tasker was unwilling to compromise on pricing or accommodation. He charged me full price for a very small move of a couch that took 45 minutes total. Within this price he did not include help moving the actual furniture. Not once did he get out of his van. I had to find strangers on the street to help me move the couch because he did not have the heart to help me. His self-interested, money-oriented transaction style left me feeling hopeless for the kindness of humanity. I am upset at my experience with this app and my tasker and do not recommend. The experience left me frustrated and disappointing instead of relieving me of a burden as it is intended to do. Maybe the app should require basic training on how to be a kind human being for its tasker, or at least make sure the listed price matches the tasker’s price.

Abysmal customer service. I used the app to hire some taskers to help my gf move about 6 furniture pieces and about 10 boxes down the road to my house. Not only did they take 4 hours to do it, they broke 2 out of the 6 furniture that I had. The taskers apologized and claimed TaskRabbit could reimburse us. TaskRabbit refuse to give us any sort of compensation for the broken furniture because we didnt have a receipt of the furniture! They refuse to let us speak to a manager and nobody wants to talk to us about the furniture. I have been leaving emails only to be resent the same message that they cannot help us. Absolutely horrible customer service. Avoid task rabbit. I will strongly advocate for everyone I meet to avoid using task rabbit. Horrible. Edit: Response to task rabbit. My renters insurance doesn’t cover accidents done by your contractors, your company is a fraud, your insurance should cover what happened since this was your mistake. Your contractors broke my furniture , and you refuse to help me. At least compensate for something? this is the very definition of not being accountable for your actions. You are a star shining example of companies that do not care about customer services.

Horrible. This company has total extravagant prices . Some charge over $100 per hour work and require a minimum of 2 hours. I used a Jospeh B the first time I was new at task rabbit he is young and wanted to help so I put a nice review. He became my handyman after and took over 18 hrs to mount simple staff bed. Dresser desk and a rope for curtain in bedroom was mounted wrong 3 times in 4 hrs. Another handyman came yesterday and took him 15 min to mount same rope . This handyman was cheaper $32 per hour and took so long to do the smallest job. He is stubborn is his way even if he has no clue what he is doing . I ended up paying him more than all the furniture I got cost wise and still mostly in boxes . Don’t use him. He needs to hook up with an experienced handyman for serious time before he can take on jobs adding that he is NOT A HANDY MAN . After 5 visits he finally said he will bring the right drill since he could not make a hole in a cement wall and blamed the wall for that. The issue is that he doesn’t have the drill and holes were not properly made. He did not used anchors so all gave in open and all walll had to be fixed to add holes again. Unreal . Task rabbit is not even aware of the personal experience. Anyone can apply to be an employee at task rabbit. My building handyman does much better for a tip and they were amazed how poorly the work was done

Many aspects work well, several key ones don’t. Booking a task and communicating with new taskers works really well. The trouble comes in when trying to chat with Taskers with whom you’ve previously worked and would like to set up future work. There is no consistent way to chat with someone once the job that you initially hired them for is done. “chat is disabled” comes up most of the time, then sometimes miraculously you can get through. Putting a tasker in your “favorites“ should theoretically remedy this, but when you try to rebook them there is frequently an error which does not allow you to see their availability or hire them directly from the favorites section. Finding and maintaining good people to help with household tasks is, to me, the number one thing I would like out of this app. Since I can’t communicate with Taskers with whom I would like to continue to work, the app fails in this goal.

Generally unreliable service with a few good apples. Both taskers and support staff can be vastly unreliable; however, in the midst of multiple chaotic situations where two taskers in a row canceled on me literally at the last second for a help moving job and I couldn’t get anyone to answer me on the customer support live chat, I was finally able to get some help from a good tasker and a decent customer service representative on the phone (after having to call and sit on hold, while still being ignored on the live chat.) The following day for a different task, a studio apartment cleaning, the tasker showed up hours late, then took several hours to complete a job, during which she had to leave and come back. She did not finish until after midnight, though ultimately she did a good job. Communication from taskers is poor. Not sure I’ll use this app again.

I can no longer pick taskers of my choice. I was trying to book an assembly request in SF a few days in advance, but I was unable to select a tasker that I’ve used before. I thought they may be unavailable, but then I remembered they sent me a direct link to their profile. Once I clicked on the link it showed me that they were actually available for that timeframe I initially selected, which was contrary to what was displayed in the app. So needless to say I booked my preferred tasker for the assembly project. Once they had completed the project, I asked them why I was unable to select them in the app. They informed me that Taskrabbit change their algorithm to prioritize taskers based on the location of the cities where they reside, instead of all the taskers that service the area. They also mention that they have been getting less work as a result of this update. I noticed during the checkout process that Taskrabbit was willing to recommend less experienced taskers with lower ratings, instead of my preferred tasker of choice. This seems unfair to both customers and taskers alike. It forces mediocrity on the customers while taking work away from quality taskers. Taskrabbit should really provide customers with a better selection of taskers that provide a higher standard of service and not penalize taskers just because of their proximity to the service location. I hope that they will take my feedback seriously and not continue to peddle such mediocrity.

Disappointing Experience and Unprofessional Behavior. I rarely feel compelled to leave negative reviews, but in this instance, I must share my experience.i have scheduled 3 taskers at 3 different times , always picking the ones with 5 star reviews and highest rate. None of them actually showed up. The last tasker in question has shown a complete lack of professionalism and respect for my time. After three postponements, they failed to show up for the scheduled appointment. What's worse is that I had specifically taken time off from work to accommodate them, turning this into a completely wasted day. The icing on the cake is the audacious move of charging me for an hour of work that was never completed - a flagrant example of unfair practice. Now, I find myself trapped in a cycle of seemingly endless calls, trying to secure a refund for a service I never received. This has been an incredibly frustrating experience, and I strongly advise anyone to think twice before engaging this service. Their disregard for the client's time and their lack of responsibility leaves much to be desired in terms of service standards.

The Tasker never showed up and still has a five star review. This app was working OK for me for a while. But my last experience with Highland and Tasker was unacceptable. I hired the person and we did a chat via the task rabbit app to confirm the details of the cleaning task. The next day the Tasker never showed up or called or messaged. The app informed me that the person was scheduled to show up but when I went to leave a review all of a sudden the entire event was removed so I can’t even share my experience. Now this Tasker still has a higher rating but clearly should not because she was a no-show. Wondering how many other clients she left in the lurch by not showing up yet still has a five star review review on their app. Contacting support was a complete joke, no one was able to assist. Now I am requesting that they close my account and that is even a hassle. I would recommend staying away from this app completely because it is not working properly, the reviews are misleading on their app for the taskers, and their support is a waste of time.

Very High Admin Fee. Tried this app on a friend’s recommendation as I’ve broken my arm and my partner is recovering from surgery and we need help around the house. Task Rabbit is charging 35% on top of the hourly wage you pay to the helper, and that seems very high. That encouraged me to get my helper’s phone number and just hire directly from now on. I’d rather give her more money for her elbow grease than pay an ambiguous venture-capital-funded entity for your hard work. After trying this app I’m reminded of what’s happening as we try to make every single thing easier without realizing it actually comes at our expense in the end. You can hire a neighbors’ kid or a college student from a free campus message board or someone from a Craigslist or Facebook listing or any number of places. Anything makes more sense than paying 35¢ to a corporation on every dollar you give to your hired helper. It’s as if corporate vultures haven’t sucked enough blood from the veins of the population and they feel entitled to troll for every last drop. This opinion is based not on the concept at heart but rather the large percentage of corporation is demanding which seems to only undercut the workers.

Booking process is HORRIBLE, better apps out there. This app concept is a great idea but TaskRabbit’s booking system is just not conducive to finding someone to do a job quickly. Instead of letting you search for specific times and blast your request to whoever is available at those times to vet Taskers, the system makes you search them one by one, then see what times they’re available on the day you want, then request a job. When you finally find someone available and confirm the time you get a message “You’re booked!” but you are not actually booked which is just ridiculous UX messaging! The Tasker can review and reject your job hours after that message and then you have to start the process all over again. After a few rounds - and days! - of this I went to another app. Shout out to Thumbtack that lets multiple businesses see your job request so you can move on quickly if one doesn’t work out. On Thumbtack I got immediate responses and was able to book same day. TaskRabbit is a turtle in comparison.

ONE OF THE BEST HANDYMEN EVER! Amazing!. Chad came last minute and did an excellent job on a piece that I needed done for the next day. I didn’t think I had a shot at getting anyone, but he stepped up to the plate and was so knowledgeable and putting the piece together and was kind and trustworthy. I would highly recommend him to anyone, he is way better than some of the people on here that I paid almost triple the amount to do a similar project. His price is more than fair ( I’m still pinching myself )he knows a lot about furniture assembly, computers, TVs, and the proper way to hang things. He was beyond superior and I have already had family members ask me for his number. He is a gentleman and a 5th generation Texas nonetheless. If you are lucky enough to get him, you will see how intelligent, fast and professional he is.

Got cancelled on repeatedly. While I finally ended up with someone great, it wasn’t an easy process. I started communicating with 2 different people. All of a sudden, the first guy just cancelled on me with no reason. I started the process over and got a 2nd guy. Apparently he didn’t like that it took me 20 minutes to respond back (all I did was jump in the shower) so he cancelled too. Very frustrating. And once they cancel you have no way to reach them. I tried calling customer service and after 20 minutes of being on hold I finally gave up. These “Taskers” should be accountable too. We, the customers, should somehow get to share feedback on people who aren’t good communicators or who cancel with no reason. I believe I saw high ratings on both of these guys, yet they would’ve gotten 1-star ratings from me if I’d had the chance.

Shocked at the negative reviews. Just used TR to move shelving units from my friend’s apartment to mine. The whole experience was great and the app was easy to use (and I work at a tech company!). The notifications work properly (important!) and you can leave/read reviews for potential suggestions. I read almost every review before deciding on a TR and I had a really easy and efficient time with my task. So I’m shocked at all the negative reviews on here - take a minute to do your research and you won’t be disappointed. That said, because this is the App Store, one feature/UX suggestion I have would be to move the search to the header rather than at the bottom on Home as I actually had no idea it existed for most of the time I’ve had this app downloaded. Also, I wish you could set your TR results to sort the same way every time (I wanted price from low to high instead of recommended - it was annoying having to toggle that each time I searched a new time or date). Lastly, it would be more convenient to enter any promo codes in settings vs. after you’ve booked a task and are ready to checkout - especially since other sharing economy apps have conditioned us to do it this way. Other than those three things, can’t really complain and would use again!

Awesome Taskers, Horrible App. The app is horribly buggy and useless!!! The taskers I've hired have been great, but it’s difficult to hire them when the app is so buggy!!! I want to hire someone I’ve hired before, but every time I go to complete it, it wants me to add a payment method (even though I had just paid for her services two weeks earlier), but then it would accept any payment method (credit card, Apple Pay, etc) and I couldn’t confirm the hire. I have another task for another tasker, but it only lets me reserve her time for 30 minutes. It takes longer than that to clean any home! It’s a large cleaning project and I wanted to send a photo in the chat to be sure she can manage it with her availability, but the photos don’t match the albums and are random from over many years, so I can’t add the photo I took. These are just a few flaws in the app and from just the last few times I’ve used it. The other reviews tell of many other problems. Also, it doesn’t include until the fine print towards the end of the booking process that there is an additional hourly rate that goes to the app (which varies based upon unknown factors), so you can’t tell until after almost the entire process to see if that person is actually within your budget. With this extra hourly rate, you’d think the company could afford to fix their app! How much business do they lose when people can’t schedule services? Flawed app. Flawed app. Flawed app.

Disappointing rip-off that rewards bad workers. This app has some truly terrible workers who will do the worst job ever and even if you dispute it, they’ll still get your money. I’ve used this app in 3 different states and most of the people on here do a poor job (despite charging A LOT) and just do them as fast and as sloppy as possible, resulting in poor work. Task rabbit is always on the side of the Tasker and NEVER on the side of the consumer. I’m doing really hard work in my daily life and if I was as sloppy as the men on here, I’d be fired from my job right away. And people don’t rate them correctly. They’ll write a tear-down criticism while giving 5 stars, which is cowardly on the part of the consumers. People pleasers who are afraid to be honest are making this app sound way better than it is by giving good ratings yet writing tons of criticism in the description, which makes zero sense. The only good worker I had in here was a kind man from Ghana, a fellow immigrant like me. The entitled white guys on here have male fragility and get angry when I ask them to be more careful when moving fragile objects. Their huge egos, blatant disrespect and misogyny are offensive and revolting, and their work ethic is nonexistent.

From Overjoyed to Furious. Review is for TaskRabbit itself, not the app. Past experience with TaskRabbit was wonderful. Very nice gentleman who was way overqualified for the job. Gave him a substantial tip and hired him again and recommended him to others. He’s no longer doing tasks so I hired someone else to help with a move out cleaning. 1st person I hired for approx $26/hr. She cancelled 11 hrs later. No biggie- it was still 24 hrs before Task. Then I got a message from TaskRabbit that a guy would be able to do it for approx $37/hr. Got a message from him confirming. Sent him a message 30 mins before he was to be there, asking for an ETA, but told him no rush. 45 mins later (15 mins after he was supposed to be there), a message saying he cancelled. Get a message from TaskRabbit saying someone can start at 10am (15 mins ago) for $50/hr. Twice as much as what I was originally going to pay. I’m not completely blaming the taskers (well, maybe the guy bc he confirmed yesterday, read my message at 9:26am, then waited 45 mins to say he couldn’t do it.) I understand that life happens. Even just a “sorry, didn’t mean to accept this task,” would be nice, but it appears that the conversation is closed as soon as they cancel the task. I’m rambling. That’s what I do when I’m mad. So I’ll end it here. And no, I didn’t hire a 3rd Taskmasker and doubt I’ll use this service again.

Rating the app, not the service. I’ve known about task rabbit for years now ever since I first moved to New York City about five years ago. The idea of the service is really great and I even made some money myself when I was working for TaskRabbit early on. However, since TaskRabbit is owned by IKEA, it’s a little disappointing seeing that such a large company with the kind of revenue they have put so little effort into making sure the user experience with in the app itself is seamless. Checking Tasker reviews for example is not seamless because the reviews tend to carry over from one Tasker to another and so I may be wanting to see what Tasker Anthony is all about but Maria and her reviews are still showing up. Or in another case if I am trying to book a cleaning task and I want to look specifically for deep cleaners to be sure that they have their own equipment, the app doesn’t give me an option to actually choose deep clean it it’s only displayed by time expected to be spent on the task. So it’s a great idea for a service overall and my experience with individual taskers and their jobs have been great but the execution of the app still has a lot of room for improvement.

I like it but could use some tweaks. TaskRabbit is an incredibly useful app that connects people with local professionals who can help with various tasks and chores. The app's interface is user-friendly and easy to navigate, making it simple to find the right tasker for the job. However, while I appreciate the app's convenience, there are a few areas where I feel it could be improved. Firstly, I find it frustrating that TaskRabbit requires users to agree to a price before any conversation takes place. In my opinion, it would be much more helpful if potential clients could discuss the task with a tasker before agreeing on a price. This would allow for a better understanding of the work involved and could lead to a more accurate price estimate. Additionally, I find the extra fees attached to the services to be somewhat annoying. While I understand that TaskRabbit needs to make money, it would be nice if the fees were more transparent and clearly explained upfront. This would help users make more informed decisions about which tasker to choose and could prevent any unexpected costs from arising. Despite these criticisms, I still find TaskRabbit to be a helpful app for finding local professionals to help with various tasks. With a few improvements, it could become an even more valuable tool for those seeking assistance with household chores and other errands.

Task Rabbit is Top Notch. I’m having an amazing experience so far with Task Rabbit! So far I’ve had three tasks performed. Chaya, the first person that came was an organizer who was so efficient and helpful . The second task was performed by movers and they made the impossible possible. I will never forget Bootur M, and Donald T. The last task was performed by a cleaner. Everyone has been so professional, and nice. I am so impressed! When I hired the movers, I was skeptical about whether they could move my huge pieces of furniture around an impossible space but they did it, by separating my bookcase into two (which was crazy because I thought it was a one piece). They also took off the crown of another antique armoire and carefully put it back. Booter M also removed a wooden doorway to make this move happen, and of course drilled it back. I don’t think regular movers would’ve done this for me. The care and attention that I’ve been receiving from your staff has been outstanding!!!

My goto for quick work that needs to be done around my place.. When I couldn’t find handyman help anywhere else, I could find help here. I’ve gotten three jobs done on here so far. I like the transparency in pricing. You kind of have an idea of roughly what the cost will be. I like that platform it isn’t too complex with a million features and options, the platform is simple enough to understand. Now I will say, I did have an issue with a customer service rep hopping into the middle of a chat with a Tasker and myself, but after I called customer service and let them know it was distracting, they stop doing that. So I like that they were open to constructive criticism and they fixed the issue. As a finders fee, they charge an additional 15% on top of whatever your Tasker charge you to do the job.

Lacking what I needed.. I recently had surgery and needed some help with simple things like folding laundry, so I tried the app. I was not satisfied. When I went to sign up and put in my info, I changed the keyboard to landscape bc that is how it is easiest for me to type on my phone. But then the fields I was typing in were totally obscured and the top half of the page wouldn’t scroll, forcing me back to portrait typing, which is harder for me and I make more errors. Please fix the landscape typing. Next, it asked to use my location and pinged me as over 50 miles from where I was and told me it was not available in my city. I manually entered my location, but if an app is going to use location services, get it right. Finally I am able to describe my task. I input all the details and it says there is nobody available but I should try a different day or time. I go back and change the day/time at least 20 times before finding an offer. I suggest a feature where the app asks if you want to see when taskers are free when results come up empty. And finally, after ALL that searching, the SINGLE Tasker available wants to charge over $30/hour for light housework! Insane! You don’t need a master’s degree to fold laundry, which is literally all I needed help with. I was willing to pay minimum wage plus maybe a tip if they did well for this extremely basic task, but not more than I make in an hour at my own professional job. Overall, quite disappointed with this app.

Poor Customer Service and Regulations. Let me preface this with the fact that I NEVER leave reviews!! I just wish I would have had someone warning me before the following incident. My tasker canceled on me 2 hours before I needed him to help me move out of my apartment, which I had to be out of that day. His canceling on me made me have to take off of work for the full day instead of the half day I had planned on taking. I see in the guidelines that if I were to cancel someone's services within 24 hours, I would be charged for an hour's work from that tasker. If a tasker cancels on me though, they don’t get penalized for inconveniencing me? I also find it odd that I cannot leave a review for this tasker canceling on me last minute. I was so displeased over the stress and time this situation took from me that I contacted the app and I still have NO response after 6 days…. Horrible way to run a business. Use extreme caution when using this app or save yourself the struggle and just hire movers/help elsewhere!

Cleaner position. I have private clients and thought I could find more through this app. When I arrived, the first customer I got on task rabbit expected more than what was possible for one professional cleaner to do in only two hours and I made sure to tell her that it was not possible for the amount of cleaning that was needed for her space. I worked hard and did the most I could in the specific time she told me I could be there. She also was under the impression that I had “rescheduled” my appointment because task rabbit makes it seem like the client can book a time for your services before you, as the worker, even gets the request. I had a job the same day she requested and shared that before accepting her booking. But like I said, task rabbit makes the client feel like they have already booked you before the booking is even sent to the cleaner, so she was under the impression that I had “canceled” her booking. She then proceeded to not pay the app, so I had to wait almost four weeks to receive my payment for that job while getting a lot of unprofessional emails from task rabbit regarding why I hadn’t received my pay yet. Please do not waste 20$ applying for this job. Use any other form in order to get yourself clients.

Technical Issues + Unresponsive Tasker left me scrambling on my wedding day. I booked a tasker to help transport and set up chairs/decorations for our small wedding ceremony. From the beginning, my tasker was super unresponsive. Then there were technical issues with the app which caused the tasker not to get a notification about my request, in spite of the fact that on my end, the request showed as received. Not sure if this is some kind of software bug, but long story short, we needed the tasker at 2:30 and couldnt get the issue resolved until after 1, by which time, the tasker had stopped responding to my messages all together and left us scrambling. Additionally, there were no other taskers available in our area on such short notice. Husband and MIL ended up setting up everything themselves and as a result, our wedding was late and everyone had to spend the afternoon scrambling (as they of course had to go home, shower and change before the ceremony after setting up chairs). Bottom line, this app may be okay for getting someone to help out with some random task that can be done whenever (like raking leaves) but if you need help with something that requires help at a specific time (like event set up or moving) id say this app is a hard pass. Im extremely disappointed and will definitely never use this app again.

Horrible Experience- ****DO NOT USE****. My tasker James M canceled at the last minute the morning after I spent the weekend making sure that everything was here and ready for his arrival this morning. I booked the appointment four days ago and thought everything was lined up and ready to go. I even had received several text alerts from James on Friday asking me questions about the various jobs that I need to have done so I thought if there was any other questions or issues, I would have received a text alert this morning, but instead he emailed me asking for directions, and when I didn’t respond within 15 minutes, he canceled the entire job. Please note that the appointment was for 9:30am this morning and he canceled at 8:45 so there was more than enough time for me to still respond and get back to him with the directions, plus I had booked him for 2 to 3 hours, so there was more than enough time for him to still get here. The experience and the service is just INEXCUSABLE!!! Save yourself the Hassle and frustration and hire a contractor the normal way.

TR is a train wreck!!!. Abhorrent company. They have no moral standards or professional ethics. And, they are the epitome of utter greed and contempt. After I was painfully vetted following a glacial period of time, I was instructed via an email, it could take months before I was able to begin working due to the high demand of taskers in my limited area. I live in NYC. Manhattan. Not in the mountains of Montana. I find it incredibly difficult to believe there were no tasks available. I find it also incredibly difficult to accept that they essentially command over 30% of your wages. That’s so alarming. I finally reached out to customer service and they responded with a simple statement. Essentially, that this process could take months if not years to start acquiring jobs. At that point, I completely deleted my app, accepted that I was going to lose $20, and call it a day. I’ve had other friends in similar situations with TR. Honestly, this app and this company are a waste of your time. They are an absolute train wreck and I would not be surprised if they went out of business within the next year or two. Avoid at all costs. Good luck actually talking to a real, human person.

Terrible Integrity- DO NOT support this company. Task rabbit actually robbed me. I have proof of a conversation I had with a tasker who convinced me they had the experience to move and set up a Murphy bed and help me move my 1 bedroom apt down the street- they mentioned they were going to come WITHOUT DOLLIES and just bring a friend who has more experience. At this point, I said, excuse me? I’ll just find another tasker- and they said, no we will get dollies and be just fine!! They showed up and took the entire day to move my Murphy bed, broke the bed and made it not functional (a $2000 bed) and then I was left to hire another company to fix and install the bed, then I spent the rest of the day myself moving my own stuff to my new apartment. Task rabbit hurried me to pay for the task and then said they can help me investigate the case- I spent $1200 on task rabbiters for the day and task rabbit refunded me NOTHING because the taskers spent the entire day working on my Murphy bed, which in the fine print they say they don’t cover any expenses for damages to Murphy beds.. so i was out $1200 for the time if the taskers, $500 more from another company to fix my bed, and wasted my whole day moving which is what the taskers were hired to do and convinced me they were qualified to do. NOTHING from task rabbit- a disgrace for any company who treats customers like this. I will never use task rabbit again- please do not support this company!

Would give zero stars If I could. Very disappointed in there service, or rather lack there of. I needed my small front yard mowed which typically takes less than 30 mins. Of the 6 Taskers in my area, only 2 had even remotely reasonable prices. Most Taskers were asking for $100-$200 an hour for yard work (the minimum you can hire someone for is one full hour). First tasker cancelled my task moments before he was due to arrive because he didn’t have a lawnmower (Taskers are supposed to provide the tools). Second guy, after chatting with me to confirm the details of the job, was a no show. Not only did he not show, but I was charged for 2 hours of service. After talking with customer service (who communicated in broken English), I was supposed to receive a full refund because there was a “mistake” on the Taskers end (Umm, pretty sure that charging me for 2 hours for no work wasn’t a mistake). I still have yet to receive my refund. If it’s not corrected soon, I will dispute the charge with my credit card company. Will never use this company again.

Horrible customer service!. I am not at all the type of person to leave a review— especially not a bad one! But I downloaded this app with the hope of delivering a cake to a loved one. I schedule the task days in advance and communicated with the tasker. However when it came past time that the cake should be picked up, no response from the tasker— I called the bakery, who said no one had come. Then I checked the app and the task was cancelled! I tried to desperately contact their slow and cumbersome customer service and spent a good 30 min trying to solve things. Their customer service was horrible, some of the worst I have experienced! There is no call In number— and if it is an “urgent matter” they want you to email (which I did— and that took 24 hours for them to respond). They offered to call, then refused, abruptly leaving the chat and saying they would have to talk to a manager. A second chat representative attempt again ubruptly left me, saying that I simply should re- request the task— and completely Ignored my plea that this was time sensitive and a request for repeat task would be at best three hours away. Finally I had to leave work early and go take care of the delivery myself. Worst experience! Save yourself the heart ache and use a different app!

Good Concept, Poor Execution. The ability to review multiple types of jobs for one contractor is very helpful and should be industry standard. However, I’m surprised to learn that clients cannot communicate expected hours of a job in a form that is clear for contractors. We’re told to communicate hours in the job description or expect the contractor to negotiate hours after reading the job description. No popular contractor is going to take a job without a clear communication of expected hours from the client upfront. There’s no way to do this easily in the app, therefore jobs that would be taken if there were a clear communication of hours are ignored; even if the hours are stated in the description. If it doesn’t stand out in the description, don’t expect the task to be taken. Frankly, this should not be a trial and error process for clients to figure out what works and what doesn’t.

Amazing. Easy to use, affordable taskrs, just great!

Yard Work. Billy listened to instructions, executed in a timely manner. Would definitely work with him again

My prior comments on their warranty was deleted!. I wish I could give negative stars! Don’t be fooled by their so called “happiness pledge”! It won’t make you happy. IKEA engaged them on our behalf to mount the TV stand to the wall and 6 months later, it fell to the ground. TaskRabbit denied the claim and claimed the IKEA work is covered only up to 90 days. This term is NOT on your website!NOT! It is NOT publicly published! Even some of the IKEA employees did not know about it! It has to be manager level and after some digging in! I was not communicated about it at all. Otherwise I would go with someone more trustworthy! And I have followed up with their representatives asking for a copy of their IKEA installation warranty policy. Nobody replies to me any more!

Easy. Easy to find someone to do almost everything. Everyone I’ve hired so far has been excellent. I like that they’re under a company that checks them out. If you need any support, they have customer service. It’s a lot safer than hiring some random person off of kijiji or something. Highly recommend

Very Convenient. We use this app all the time. Fantastic

Perfect App for any Assembly, Easy to use and godd service provided. Perfect App for any Assembly

First time using. It was very easy to use.The only thing is I couldn’t find was odd jobs as I only needed a new TV set up but not mounted. The quickness getting the bill was great.I will use again and recommend to others. This was sorely needed in Halifax as no handymen available before your app.

Best way to find a contractor. Reviews make it easy

App. Horrible app, don’t bother. I used it 3 times. The last task I did, I got charged twice and when I reached out to customer support they basically told me it was my fault. Horrible customer service. Won’t be using this app again nor recommending it to friends.

Rating 1 for tankers cancelling requests. Downloaded this app loved the concept booked three people for a simple ikea bed due to back problems all three cancelled different times and went through the hassle each time of booking a new one. If you are not available or think you are a master carpenter go get a job elsewhere get off the platform leave it to those willing to take the task you probably took a job away from someone that was willing to do it End of rant

Non refundable required fee which does not guarantee eligibility of using app. To be a Tasker you must pay a 25 dollar fee then you are shown all the details and information before you are able to start working. There is no guarantee you will be eligible and you can only find out after paying the required NON refundable fee which doesn’t guarantee anything. Why would a company require you to pay them before learning the details as to why they cannot use their app in the first place? What do the have to lose by refunding money when a person isn’t able to use their services anyway? What trust should you give to a company who would steal from would be users?

Fabulous service!. Love Task Rabbit! ☺️

No refunds even if task doesn’t go as planned. I used TaskRabbit for a simple task to address a leak, but after a couple of weeks the leak was back. When I got through to TaskRabbit after, they refused to help or give any sort of refund. Terrible customer service.

Not reliable. I have used this app several times and initially had a good experience. Lately, the last minute cancelation rate has been around 80%, mostly for cleaning. Very unprofessional, it ends up ruining the whole planing, so I would say it’s not a reliable service app. I wouldn’t recommand.

Great app. Very intuitive. Recommended

Scam. Got scammed $600, my task was forcefully closed before completion leaving the tasker with $600 of my money!!

User friendly business that is ethical. Your group seems to run an honest business. Running an honest business is the only thing that matters to me.

What a load of crap!!. I’m not interested in paying a fee to be told I’m not guaranteed acceptance without a refund. Sounds like a scam. Uber, Instacart and various other companies that run background checks do not charge people a fee to join and earn money. This company is really unprofessional replying to every review with its generic response. Nothing in the below response addressed anything my review had not already stated. Therefore I don’t understand why the company would harass me via my review. Maybe the company needs to focus on workers whom can comprehend before responding. I listed two of the biggest companies that provide services that require background checks and none of them require the worker to PAY A NON REFUNDABLE FEE. I stand by my review that this company scams people out of money. How dare you charge a fee to work for your company and still have the audacity to have in fine print that the fee is “NON REFUNDABLE” & does not “GUARANTEE” acceptance as a contractor. That’s ROBBERY you crooks. DON’T GIVE THEM A PENNY!

Do not download!. This app or service has no customer service. Someone will reply but nothing will get done. Although the app has an option to change payment method, it only let's you use one card and apple pay. At the end it's your responsability and they tell you the problem is on you. also I see there's less and less takers.

Great Move. Ryan was fast, efficient well equipped and on time! Highly recommended!

Best app ever!. This is my go to app incase I need things to be taken care off in and around my home.

After updating iOS it works. It wasn’t working but after installing the latest iOS update, now it seems to be working as expected

Superb service to the community. On the three occasions I have used this service I have received top quality services from skilled and thoroughly professional trades. I will NEVER delete this app.

Great app to organize needs. Love this app it’s easy and user friendly.

Super convenient. Conveniently found many trades and help by budget and timeline

Unreliable! Cancellations - No Response. I’ve attempted to book an easy job four times and every time the Tasker has cancelled without any communication. I just receive a notification the appointment was cancelled, no nesssge from the Tasker, no reasoning… We need the option to write a review about this on their profile or at least mark that they cancelled. I signed up for this app a few weeks ago and I’ve booked the same task four times now and every single time the person is canceled. Zero task completed. Don’t make plans!

Rajan’s Assembly. Having Rajan complete assembly of all my items so quickly and expertly was an amazing experience! I would highly recommend him and will use him again if/when the need arises.

Task Rabbit App is great!. It’s convenient and fun to use.

Packer. Awesome, Meg is friendly and easy to talk to, organized and a great packer, I will work her again, thanks

UNSTABLE on iPad Pro!. Very unstable. On iPad Pro, input is sketchy at best. Trackpad and touch both randomly stop working after a few moments. On iPhone, the app is more stable but still only remembers your last/primary address about 30% of the time. No observable pattern. Please address!!! Thanks

Nice idea, but unfriendly interface. It would be helpful if it suggested alternate times when taskers are available, rather than making us guess and check for times.

The worst app I’ve ever used!. I can’t log in to my account although the password and email are correct. It let me changed my password and afterward I can’t log in with the new password again. The sign up page is not working either. It just makes the whole experience a lot worse.

Great app. Great app. Easy to use and incredibly useful to get small moves and tasks done.

Update does not work. The updated version of the app is forcing the app to go in a loop. After app opens an update app is required, after downloading updated version, the update app is require again. Constant loop

The handymen do not show up. I tried to hire 2 different guys to assemble my furniture. I ran into the same issue with both. They first delay the job saying “there js w scheduling conflict” and then do not show up on the new rescheduled date. I was charged the one hour rate despite having received no service and had my time wasted waiting for these useless handymen to show up. Thanks taskrabbit! Thanks for letting them get free money from me.

Disappointed. Service feels half baked and amateurish. App does not show and does not consider distance to the Tasker so I get suggestions who live an hour away and want to charge for the drive. Other accepts the task and then cancels — this should be reflected in their reviews like AirBnB does but no. Might try again in a year or two but right now the user experience is not great at all.

Don’t do IKEA with taskrabbit. Getting IKEA PAX assembled by Taskrabbit is an ongoing challenge and doesn’t deliver on the promise of ‘easy’. We purchased a pax and saw a Taskrabbit ad at ikea. We asked the sales representative to add assembly services to the total charge and she scheduled the assembly date and time. Everything seemed streamlined. A few days later we checked the status of the appointment and it was canceled without any notification. After hours on the phone with both IKEA and Taskrabbit representatives they bounced us back and forth to each other and then finally admitted that the task did not come through and instead of helping us rebook IKEA just refunded the assembly fee leaving us to fend for ourselves. Next, we schedule the task directly with taskrabbit and get a person (this is a gig app, btw) assigned. After multiple messages back and forth and having to explain exactly what needs to be done (even though ikea sent all of the instructions and the design) the person canceled the morning of when the task was scheduled. The saga continues as we are trying to find someone to assemble this pax and the marketing message of getting service the next day is not being delivered on. I’d assume a large company like ikea would have this figured out.

excellent travail. thank you

Taskers are very unreliable. Unfortunately I had multiple taskers cancel the day of the scheduled appointment. The service is too unreliable and after a last minute cancellation you are not able to leave a review on the taskers profile.

The chat feature doesn’t seem to be very reliable. This is the first time that I use taskrabbit and the experience is very confusing. I got a message from the tasker that he’s checking schedule, afterwards I got notification saying the schedule is set up. I thought it was the end of it, only to find out later that the tasker also asked me to verbally confirm, but I didn’t get any notifications on that. I checked the chat box on the same day and didn’t see that message, which makes me question if the chat had delivered the message at real time. Suggestion: since the taskers need requesters to confirm, it would be easier if taskrabbit provides an interface for requesters to click a confirm button after a schedule is set up, or maybe the email notification on chats could be more reliable so that we don’t miss important messages.

Easy & Efficient. App is super easy to navigate and book a task.

Feeling duped. Every time I use this app I try to choose a time as they are all “available “ then when it comes to booking they then say they are not available and try to set up a different time with me … also one guy wanted me to pay extra for his travels, had one tasker come to install a baby gate it explaining that it was just drywall and would need proper anchors … it fell out of the wall he didn’t use the proper anchors when asked to come back and redo the job he just closed the chat and when I tried to rebook with him he changed his availability. I did reach out to customer service and they gave me a credit after a lot of back and forth. So I booked another tasker to come and redo the baby gate and hang a mirror … I showed him the job and explained that he would have to use proper anchors for drywall he said no problem and he then told me I would have to pay $2.00 extra for each anchor as they are super expensive… what!? They are probably 5 cents each !! Then as he is leaving he says “ seeing as this is your first time with me I won’t charge you for the extra anchors, but given me a good review “ This service should be as smooth as possible for the clients, but each time i feel like I’m being taken advantage of …

Moving help. Mohammad did an awesome job. He was extra cautious about handling my furniture and I couldn’t be any happier with his service. Thank you so much Mohammad! Will highly recommend him if you have a moving trip

Ikea Bed and Wardrobe. Hired a handyman from this app, horrible installation of my pax and malm bed. The mattress of the bed sinks down in the middle and the headboard is really loose. The wardrobe doors are not even and one doesn’t close properly. I work a busy life and don’t have time to tinker around this and book again! On top of that, there’s is a ton of ripped up cardboard and garbage left over. My wife is very very upset and we have to sleep on the couch now!

So easy to book help. I had a tasker booked for weeks to help me move and he cancelled a half hour prior. However, it was no problem booking someone else, even on Sunday afternoon on Father's Day. Lots of skilled people signed up wanting to work as taskers.

He is excellent. He is very friendly, professional and quick I recommend him and deserve more than 5 stars

Mind numbing bad iOS developers. I can’t even fathom the skillset of the iOS developers who built this app. Like did you go some Walmart and picked up a book to clear the interviews!?!? The app crashes in the middle of a support chat session. The app fails to send SMS codes, heck even the website is so effed up. Or did you guys just layoff all the good engineers and hired some no name devs to save cost? I’ve been trying to get in touch with the support via chat and it crashed 3 times. Three! I’m tired of giving money to Taskrabbit when it doesn’t know jack. You guys don’t deserve my business or anyone’s who value their time

New to this app. And really happy with my first hire!

Handyman service is great but.... ...push notifications don’t work. Going into iOS Settings > Notifications, TaskRabbit isn’t even an option to adjust preferences.

Heavy lifting. I woke up this morning in a panic because I had 2020 kill boxes of clay to bring up three flights of stairs, and no one was able to do it. In less than half an hour I made an arrangement with Dallas, who was lovely to work with and had a task done in no time.

Worse Customer Service if you are a Tasker. My problem still not solved after almost three months now. They need to have a better system and more accountable. Not one supervisor has every contacted me yet. I want someone to call me asap to get this solved yet no one will. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Horrible customer service for the worker. No number to call, just extremely disappointed. To the person who responded back, what do you think I have been doing the last 3 weeks. The response has been I cannot help you but a Supervisor will be contacting you to solve this problem. Not a single Supervisor has solved the problem after countless messages to Task Rabbit. I still would not recommend Task Rabbit to anyone trying to be a Tasker. Why can know one call me to get this solved? Why is it so hard to get a Supervisor to solve the problem?

The bad experiences outnumber the good. Regardless of reviews, too many of the service providers are not experienced in the skills they profess to have. Even an “elite” five-star “electrician” tried multiple times to gaslight me into accepting substandard service because he couldn’t figure out how to get something to work. Another construction “professional” claimed to have “high integrity and knowledge to get the job done” but broke a plumbing line, didn’t even try to stop the water gushing out, and then demanded to be paid his full rate so he could leave without performing the task he was hired to do. These are not just 2 bad apples. I have way too many examples of people flat out lying about their experience, and me getting stuck with more bills to fix their errors or paying by the hour for someone to learn their craft on my dime. Save yourself time, money, and headache, and don’t bother with Task Rabbit.

First and last time: Never again. Tried to book someone in NYC to do my mother’s backyard in Brooklyn. The tasker I chose ( Wayne J. ) Listed his years experience and under tools: “ I don’t have special tools.” He asked me what tools I had for the job. I have done the yard many times with just a weed wacker and a rake. My tools are in Pa. When I come to NYC I bring them with me. These are not special tools. These are basic tools for yard work. My mother doesn’t have any tools at her home. He eventually canceled the job when asked does he have the tools to do the job. On top of that the chat response was slow and the cancellation was late in the evening. Seems many yard taskers have same tool statement. I only read one that honestly stated, You have the tools I’ll do the job. How do you claim years experience and have no tools to do the job. Never will use this app again.

Awesome tasker. Alfredo was very prompt in responding before the task and he arrived on time fully equipped with his tools. He is very polite and worked really fast to dismantle, load, unload and assemble back. He fixed my bed frame that was wobbly with some extra screws he brought along. He knew his stuff. He knew how to maneuver through the doors and got my furniture out one house into another. He remembered all my instructions and was a very hard worker. When moving he took real care not to damage my walls or furniture. He worked very well with another person I hired. He was able to load the u-haul truck so well. It was well utilization of space. I totally recommend Alfredo for any moving task. Thank you for a great experience today.

A one-stop-shopping spot for all my handyman needs. I first discovered Task Rabbit when I had an IKEA bed to put together. It was such a good experience that I have found Taskers to fix my toilet, replace a kitchen sink, install a new front door, power wash a deck and driveway, repair a hole in drywall, replace broken tile in a shower, clean my gutters and custom build a tall skinny display case for anime figures. The variety of available skills sets is huge! I did not use Task Rabbit to find someone to install new vinyl plank flooring in my kitchen and had to call the guy back to replace multiple tiles that were popping loose. I will stick with Task Rabbit in the future!

Took my money and never responded. I applied to be a tasker, paid my $25 TWICE, and my application never got processed. My application would just say “can’t complete the background check with the information provided”. I have a secret clearance with the government and have worked with Takl and other similar companies and passed their checks. I dealt with the “tech support” people for two weeks and all they said is “ the issue has been escalated to our senior support team and they will contact via email to resolve the issue. This never happened, check email daily checked junk folder...nothing. I can’t even contact anyone about it because they say it’s already been “escalated”. So from my perspective they stole my money and will not answer my attempts to figure out what’s wrong. If you’re a developer/owner reading this, you should be ashamed.

Mostly easy to use. I like having the option of Task Rabbit, where I can select from a list of contractors. I’ve had good experiences with the contractors I selected. The app user interface could be improved by proactively keeping both the selected contractor and client informed and managing the project transaction. For a recent booking, the contractor I selected never got in touch, and I had to hunt within the app to find info that he could not come an hour before he was supposed to arrive (no call or text to let me know that). Also, make it easier to leave a review by taking the client right into that section of the app or online when the job is finished. Thank you!

No actual support. I was over charged for a task by double!! I have proof of conversations with my tasker with time they arrived and then they left. I was charged for 4 hours of labor for 1.5 hours of work that was actually done…. I attempted to contact support immediately after I saw the charge with no response. I emailed daily for 4 days and the message I got every single time was support chat is unavailable reply to email that was sent. I replied to the email with screenshots of the conversation I had with the tasker and still to this day I haven’t heard anything. They rob you of a support fee that doesn’t actually pay for anything. I have had to file a dispute of charge with my bank with the proof that I have. Will never recommend this app to anyone. Wish I could say horrible customer service but there is no customer service to review. STAY AWAY!!

SCAM - DO NOT DOWNLOAD. I downloaded the app 4 months ago, went through the application process and paid the fee for the background check. After completing the app, I received a notification saying it would take up to 2 weeks to process. I waited 3 weeks without hearing back and sent an email to support - no response. Sent another email and still no response. About 6 weeks later, I received a letter in the mail saying that TR was hacked and my info was compromised. So no work, no response and my personal data was leaked? Nice. I sent another email just last week requesting a refund if my application wasn’t being processed and still no response. Very disappointed as I was looking forward to utilizing the app regularly but mostly shocked that a TECH STARTUP lacks such disregard for their customers or is just severely mismanaged. Either way, a company showing such negligence should not be in business.

This should have been so useful.... I’m a small business and can’t afford big box delivery services so I thought I would try this out to see how it might work for me. The tasker who delivered my order punched through my client’s building’s flat screen TV because he got frustrated with the building security. Task Rabbits’s emergency contact number is not manned and just tells you to send them an email, which can take 48hours for reply. We must have different standards for an emergency. Their chat feature kicks you off while you’re waiting for an agent to finally get to you... because “you haven’t said anything in a while”.... to the empty chat room? The further I go down the rabbit hole trying to submit a claim for my customer the less and less reputable this app is revealed to be. I’d be very careful using this for your business or in your home. God forbid something worse happens to you or your property and you have to go down this maze of trying to get help.

William H. review. William arrived early after messaging me beforehand to make sure that it was fine to do so. I have no doubt that William would be punctual in any other case. He was a friendly, cheerful, focused man and grasped the details of the job easily and with efficacy. He was hard working and asking me questions whenever he came across items that I did not clearly explain would be included in the move. He was also respectful and careful around the work that was staying which I had scattered around my studio, eleaveating worry about any thing being damaged. William H. Was a pleasure to work with and I will definitely hire him again in the future.

Excellent resource!!. Task Rabbit came recommended by a friend and gosh is it handy! Anytime I need some help it’s super easy to find just what I need - and quickly, too! While we’ve only used it twice, they were pretty crucial times. First when moving and we not only needed help with loading the truck/moving heavy furniture but he actually took our trampoline down which was a huge 11th hour help!! The next was when we needed yard work done (5 yards of mulch laid ++) hours before 25 guests arrived. Both times the gentlemen were prompt, friendly, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. And the process made easy with an app! Highly recommend - great little resource to have in your pocket!

BUGS!. I cannot book my favorite tasker. First it was because the form would just error out with “Sorry, something went wrong. Please try again later.” Then I updated the app and now can’t get through the form because it won’t let me add my selected payment option! I am myself a software engineer, so I’m calling it out. That’s a rookie mistake! You just don’t mess up buy-flow forms period. Another bug, that same favorite tasker of mine keeps messaging me on the app asking when I would like to book. However, I can’t find a chat with any of her messages and the one’s I’ve sent DISAPPEARED. I love the idea of what this app does, but the app itself is garbage and needs and overhaul (along with automation and unit testing apparently).

Works great. Better than competitors. I Iove Task Rabbit. It's easy to use. Put in your address and describe your task. We were given a list of available professionals and chose one who had experience with our issue. The app allows you have all communication solely through the app (chat) or there is a button to call your professional, but you won't see their number. I like this better than Home Advisor because you can book more quickly and much less steps. Our job was done perfectly. Will definitely use again. I do wish you could see your professional's entire name after you book. If someone is coming to my home, I should be able to know his name for safety reasons.

Horrible to an extent. I was a tasker and had a few jobs, had fair prices which were on the low side and even managed to get some tips and awesome reviews. All is well until a nice lady asked me to move a few things and once I was finished she complained on me and task rabbit took my profile down and did an investigation, apparently she wasn’t even planning on paying me for that small job and incredibly double sided and devious. What I’m trying to say is that YOU managers at task rabbit believe one incredibly inaccurate comment on me and disregard my other reviews and don’t ask other clients I had and just take my illustrative career out of the picture. Why give so much power to clients that ruins the provider side and makes things hectic!? And I bet a lot of good money that I won’t be the last that lady would complain about. Sometimes there are just mean people out there.

Sounds great at first. The app in general works pretty well. But this app is powered by people. You think time management and payment processing will work like Uber. But no. You think that the people that are available to on the negotiated tasks will follow up. But no. I had a 1 hour job that because of my schedule I would pay someone for 3 hours. Just so it could be done. The person that accepted chatted and we agreed on a time and date. Then the day of after I rearranged my day. No chat, no call and no show. Then after I canceled after the no show, I tried 3 others. Each time a tasker accepted, they later canceled or asked if I would find someone else. That Kind of defeats the purpose of using the app. Right? Again. I’m not knocking the software. It’s just the people who have chosen to “help” don’t really help. Like I said, it sounds great at first, but......

worst experience. I booked one task that went okay. The second task I booked was interrupted midway - the tasker did not complete the job- and the task and tasker disappeared from my list with no contact or explanation whatsoever. TaskRabbit support said my account had been “erroneously earmarked” but that they fixed it and to go ahead and rebook. I did, a few weeks later. I even took time off work. The task disappeared AGAIN after a confirmation. So again, task rabbit support said my account had been erroneously earmarked but that it was fixed. For the third time, I tried to rebook the task, and after going through the whole process and confirming everything (date, time, tasker, etc.) the task disappeared from my current task list. MASSIVE FAIL. Instead of saving me time, dealing with the glitches in their system has actually created additional work and stress. Ridiculous. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME.

Dishonest Waste of Time for Tasker Workers. One of the first questions they ask you is what city you would like to task in. I live in NYC so I selected that and proceeded with filling out my whole profile with my skills, my bank info, and the VERY last portion which says in order to proceed with the application you must pay the $25. They should tell you before even applying. I think “screw it, I need a job” and proceed. Not even a few minutes later I get an email telling me there is no demand for tankers at the moment in my city. Dude, I live in NEW YORK CITY how is this possible?? What really grinded my gears was that they didn’t have any notification when I selected my city that they currently didn’t need taskers so I wasted like 20 minutes of my time filling out everything and paid $25 for nothing. They probably strategically did this to scam desperate job seekers into spending $25 knowing they would not provide them with anything. It’s incredibly dishonest. Not a good look to avoid being upfront.

Help in a pinch!. As a single woman I would like to think I am 100% self sufficient, but the truth is I am not. My son helps when he can but he is very busy with work and his own family so I don’t like to ask too much if him. He told me about Task Rabbit only to say he thought about providing services as well. So when I purchased a piece of furniture and realized he was out of town, I panicked. The I remembered Task Rabbit. I booked Rene to come help me pick up my furniture in minutes. He acknowledged the task promptly and his service was above beyond. I prayed for this type a service for a while! Thank you Task Rabbit! Your a blessing

Excellent App for Homeowners. I am a single woman and a new homeowner and the expertise found on this app has helped easy my anxiety regarding repairs in my home exponentially. It is so helpful to have an app that identifies the professional, provides a photo of said professional as well as references, a chat function and clearly listed pricing. As a consumer protection investigator I handle thousands of consumer’s contractor complaints a year. It is my professional opinion that if more consumers would take advantage of this app, I would eventually be out of a career. I am highly pleased with this app and strongly recommend it to all.

Great takers terrible app. This app is so glitchy. Booking a task is very challenging and sometimes brings you back to the homepage for no reason and it doesn’t save your info or make address suggestions based on previous tasks so you always have to manually enter the full location. rebooking a previous tasker is hard and god forbid you cancel or change a task or you’ll lose the information and be unable to rebook or make changes. finding completed tasks and making tips is hard. Please do usability testing and repair the bugs. I only use this app because of the tasker I found but I’d rather just move to paying my tasker cash and avoiding the app because of the bugs. I guarantee I will not use this app for anything other than the one great person I found to get work done for me.

Sad Kids. I’m a single dad doing the very best I can , upon cleaning my apartment and welcoming the kids back home after a long summer I slightly damaged my TV while cleaning. I explained to my son and daughter I could move the scratched tv into their room and I would buy a new tv for my room. Nonetheless the kids were stoked !!! I booked a tasker the same day the tv’s arrived . The tasker cancelled at the time of his appointment. Very upsetting for all of us. The kids are only with me thee days a week. Next available tasker was three days later . The job was done by a professional, and looks great . But that one guy was terrible !!

Taskers don’t show up and never tell you. I’ve tried to book someone multiple times to clean my place. We chat and pick a time and it’s confirmed. The day of they don’t show up and I try contacting them and no answer. I call taskRabbit customer support and all they can do is offer me $10 off another task. I use that coupon and book the same task with another tasker and they don’t show up again. They never tell me until after the time has passed. I contact taskrabbit again and they tell me the same thing about using another $10 coupon. This company is horrible and should have a better system in keeping Taskers responsible for their tasks. I couldn’t even review my Taskers to say they didn’t show up. Poor review of this company. I did the contact us and they said there’s nothing they can do except give me $10 off. I couldn’t even leave a review that my Taskers were unprofessional.

Horrible service. I recently moved to a new apartment with my girlfriend and ordered a lot of new furniture. Because I work a lot of hours I used TaskRabbit to help me move and my girlfriend used TaskRabbit to help assemble bigger pieces of furniture that I couldn’t get to in a timely manor. The movers from TaskRabbit were extremely rough and banged up a few of our belongings. The worst of which happened to my flatscreen TV. Despite it being in perfectly working order prior to TaskRabbit, when the TV arrived at my apartment it was now broken. I contacted TaskRabbit to report the incident and after going through a very lengthy and complicated process, did not accept any responsibility for their contractors breaking my TV and did not refund me for any of what I paid them. Do not use TaskRabbit to move. Their customer service department will not help out with items their team damages. While I was in the beginning of reporting this incident to TaskRabbit, my girlfriend used TaskRabbit to build a TV table. We inspected the pieces for damage and payed them out for the TaskRabbit person to easily assemble. When TaskRabbit complete the project there were new huge dents in the wood. We again reach out to TaskRabbit who again refused to take any responsibility or help in any way. Do not use TaskRabbit and if you do expect to have your possessions damaged.

You can trust Task Rabbit. I had not used this service before, but it turned out to be a lifesaver. There's no way I could've assembled my IKEA furniture by myself, so my Tasker took care of it for me. The app has you chat back-and-forth with your Tasker through the app rather than iMessage or Facebook Messenger, which is great because it is more secure. Also, if you or your Tasker need to call each other, the call goes through the TaskRabbit system as well so you don't have to give out your own personal phone number. This is a five star app that I am very happy to have found.

Be careful of manipulative practice. I’ve used this app a few times, a couple taskers were great and a couple are not. Customer service does not support the user so be careful using this app. Most recent experience, I hired a tasker and he came by to provide me a quote. He charged me the two hour minimum and provided a fixed price quote that I was not okay with. This app is based on hourly work. He wouldn’t refund me and customer service wouldn’t refund me since that is the minimum plus their fees. You can call a general contractor for a free quote, don’t be fooled by this app! Customer services was rude and put me on hold for an hour to only be disconnected and then sent an email saying that there is nothing they can do. I wasted $148 for nothing. There are other apps that offer the same service and provide great customer service.

Disappointed and let down. The first letdown was a no show to help me move for a mid afternoon job. Contacted the the Tasker after he was 15 minutes late. He reported being busier at the job he was currently working on and never offered to adjust the schedule. I replied and asked if he could come in an hour. The Tasker did not reply for 30 minutes while I waited. I contacted him again, and he cancelled. He said he would call, and he didn’t. I hired a second Tasker late in the afternoon on the same day, and the person agreed to come at 8:30 the next morning. The Tasker cancelled at 4:45 in the morning. These cancellations and poor service is going to cost me hundreds of dollars not having this furniture moved. If something is of great importance to you, do not hired anyone to help you move in Baton Rouge. The Tasker comes first, not the customer.

8% to 35% Service fee slipped in - not worth it!. The folks on task rabbit are great and I’m really disappointed that the company made this decision to change their fee model from an 8% service fee (+ a fee from the tasker to use the platform) to 35% service fee to customer. I’m glad that the taskers are keeping more of their advertised rate and understand that TaskRabbit has to charge something as a business/facilitator, but this is huge and not stated in the quoted price or clearly enough on their website for how large of a line item it is; it’s a small asterisk at the bottom of the page with other usual T&Cs about cancellation cost and windows etc, far outside of the area showing the estimate price of the job. I used TaskRabbit for the convenience and reliability but for that increase and shady way of hiding it, I’d much rather go directly to a handyman based on Google reviews and do not plan to use TaskRabbit anymore.

Why can’t I filter by availability?. I go on TaskRabbit when I need help with a task. Most times, there is urgency around getting those tasks done.. same day urgency. TaskRabbit has a filtering capability, but it doesn’t let me filter by availability eg. “within the next 6 hours”. To find taskers available within the day, I have to scroll ad nauseam and click into each tasker manually, because there’s no filtering capability. This is CRAZY and a huge miss for the app. They’re losing money because of this. People sometimes need things done very urgently, and if it seems like nobody is available within the desired timeline, we will find another solution. TaskRabbit- please add in filtering for availability and schedule.

Convenient services. I appreciate the convenience and accessibility to find people who can perform handyman jobs. This app serves a great need and the app is easy to use. I’m giving 4 stars because I think the fees are too high, and nowhere does it inform me how the convenience service fees are calculated or what percentage will be charged. It was a rude shock after the fact to find out how much fee was charged. I searched all over to find out in advance before booking my tasker what percentage fees will be added and the information is not provided, which I feel is a shady way of doing business. I should know the fees information before booking.

Scammy Behavior. My account information has been changed. I am no longer able to log-in and have made several attempts to reach out to support but no response. I was also told that I had to wait for my registration process to be accepted but I truly believe that this app is a scam. There are way too many red flags. One of them being that the tasker app is not trusted by my developer, two being that I coincidentally can’t log in with my information anymore to access my account, and three being that support has not reached out to me yet and it’s been more than 3 buisness days. Also, there isn’t an option in the app to select clients which I thought was weird. It’s set up almost like as if I have to either self promote or cross my fingers and get lucky as I wait for someone to come across my profile. I was really excited for this app ....UPDATE: support finally reached out and said that I deactivated my account... what A Joke 👏🏾

Can't log into the app or site. A tasker I had booked a week in advance blew off the delivery appointment I had made yesterday for a Christmas gift, and TaskRabbit didn't tell me- I had to hear from the gift shop that no one had showed up to scheduled pick up yesterday to deliver the gift I had spent $150 on. Now I can't log into the app or on to the website, I can't get through to customer service by phone to reschedule, and the Christmas gift I paid for isn't going to make it to its recipient before Christmas (possibly at all) because the store is closing the rest of the week- also, it's food, so I'm probably just out that money altogether. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement, I'll never use TaskRabbit again, and I'll recommend against it to every person I meet until my dying breath. I have zero recourse.

High Fee & Poor Service. TaskRabbit charges a $19 per hour service fee that is somewhat hidden on top of the Tasker’s hourly rate. I did notice it before booking my cleaning service, but decided it would be worth it in case anything went wrong. The Tasker did a very poor job cleaning my grandmother’s home—gray dust covered rugs left behind, dirty circles on the countertops left behind, crumbs and dust bunnies left behind, filth in the bathtub left behind. I assumed the high fee I paid to TaskRabbit ($76 total to just TaskRabbit because it was 4 hours of cleaning) would provide me assistance in getting this rectified, but it did not. Even after sending photos of the lack of cleaning TaskRabbit did not help me with the very poor service we received (from a highly rated Tasker too!). Overall, I paid $287 for my grandmother’s one bedroom apartment to still be dirty. This was disappointing.

Pleased with the Taskers that I’ve used. As stated above all but one tasker have been professional and very good at what they said they could do. The one who was not was a “house cleaner”. I think that some people may say they can clean houses because they think that cleaning a house is easy, but they may not really understand the work that goes into cleaning or the details that make a difference. On a positive note, I have hired an organizer, people to do yard work, a handyman and have been very pleased. I like the ease of paying through the app; however, in the past month the app has had some glitches and does not work properly all the time and in April there was a breach in their system. I can’t help but wonder if these negative things have to do with the app being sold to IKEA.

Life saver. Okay first of all, most of the bad reviews are from people who weren’t accepted. Probably because actual taskers are too busy to complain 🙄. Before TaskRabbit accepted me I had $25 in my account. I took the leap of faith and spent the $20 on the background check and everything after doing research. I also put up a good professional photo of myself. A heard back a day later, and my account was ready to go. I downloaded the app and got my first task the next day. I was so terrified as I was new to San Francisco and wasn’t used to the BART or MUNI but I set out anyways with my supplies. Before TaskRabbit, I was crashing on my friend’s couch but after one full month of tasking, I was able to put down a deposit and move into a studio for the summer and now I am moving into a one bedroom. Yes I hate customer service sometimes because I think it is too slow. I have also had a couple of cheap, annoying clients but let me tell you, the majority of my clients have been absolutely wonderful. TaskRabbit provided the stability I needed to pursue furthering my education. So now I study part time, still make my rent and afford living.

Avoid avoid avoid!. I used TaskRabbit for an assembly job. Unfortunately the Tasker, who was well reviewed, damaged the furniture: “Fear not, you can submit a claim and you’ll get reimbursed” he reassured me. Little did I know that TaskRabbit had the worst customer service in the world. No I am not kidding, having a response from the team took weeks, responding to their support ticket would often fail as to discourage you from pursuing further. This can’t be worse than that right? Unfortunately, it does. After months of trying to get my money back, TaskRabbit have the nerves of giving me a “deadline” to get my money back. Sure thing, you just have to respond to their email! If only their site was not buggy this would have been an easy manner and the incident would have gotten resolved. Instead of that I was never able to respond to the corresponding ticket by their deadline and even though I’ve raised my issues it fell into death ears. Needless to say that I had a very bad experience with TaskRabbit. If I use a service such as this it’s because I got hooked by the “guarantee” that if there was an issue the company will do all in their power to help me. This just wasn’t the case with TaskRabbit. Disappointing.

Waste of time. I joined TaskRabbit to support simple household projects: hanging pictures, mounting shelves, etc. However, I’ve never been able to secure an actual tasker or get any of my tasks done on this app. I follow the process: select a tasker, schedule a task, wait for response. And each and every one of them cancels the project within hours of the scheduled visit. Ultimately, I wound up downloading a different app to get my work done. TaskRabbit would work if the taskers were required to show up for the jobs they accepted. There seems to be no penalty for taskers dropping clients at short notice. Perhaps this is just a Los Angeles problem but I do not have these issues on other apps at all. In the end, I have zero confidence in this app and so I have deleted it from my phone. I recommend you do the same.

Task Rabbit makes it easy!. Ive been undergoing a home remodel for the past few months. I’ve called on task rabbit a few times when I needed help. I was skeptical at first but now I just look at the various profiles and chose a tasker who I think is right for the job and book em! The app makes it easy. I’ve recommended it to both friends and family. The one piece that I think can be improved regarding the app is how to cancel a scheduled task. I’ve had to cancel or reschedule a few times and the process through the app- It’s not intuitive and I still don’t know how to do it properly. But other than that I love it!

Fraud. My “tasker” accepted a carpentry job for which he was completely unqualified, a stair reconfiguration. He disassembled the stairs, billed me for 5 hours, and left without doing ANYTHING ELSE. My husband had to fix the mess. I WAS BILLED $727 for this mess!!! I disputed the case with Task Rabbit, who offered to allow me to only pay half- more than $300-for my inconvenience. I refused and am disputing the charge with Citibank. HERE’s HOW TASK RABBIT GETS YOU: you have to agree to their Terms and Conditions that basically says you pay regardless. My “tasker” defrauded me by submitting that the “task was completed” when it WASN’T, I was forced to pay for his 5 hours at $117 per hour, and then when I disputed the charge due to the fact that the task was NOT completed, I am being forced to pay because I “agreed to the Terms and Conditions.” STAY AWAY FROM THIS APP; there is NO WAY TO PROTECT YOURSELF FROM BEING DEFRAUDED. I have photos -!: texts to back up my case and I am still fighting the charge.

Last minute cancellation. Well, actually the “tasker” bailed 45 minutes before the agreed time. Okay, that happens. But TaskRabbit’s response is entirely subprofessional. 1) The tasker deleted my task so I would need to re-input the task details. Tasker should only be able to remove themselves from the task, not delete it entirely. 2) TaskRabbit support won’t simply recover the deleted task and find a new contractor. Saying instead, “sorry, we’re a technology platform where you can post a task that needs doing and decide who’s the best match.” Not true. I did not choose my tasker—he was assigned to me. 3) The customer gets a $10 credit on future purchases if the tasker cancels but if the customer cancels you are on the hook to be charged one hour at the tasker’s rate. That’s generally ~$60+. Where’s the logic here? Both sides should be penalized equally. 4) You can’t find TaskRabbit on Yelp. Tells you all you need to know about their shady operation.

Ghosted on a cross country move. A tasker was supposed to help me move a two bedroom apartment from the West Coast to the East Coast. We chatted beforehand and had everything set until the morning of, when he did not respond to messages or phone calls and did not show up. The worst part is, because he did not show up, I’m unable to leave a review for him to warn future potential customers, so I’m leaving my review here instead. Buyer beware, the ratings you see are only for those jobs your tasker bothered to show up for and not times when the tasker couldn’t be bothered by your task. Moving a two bedroom apartment all by yourself, including a fridge and entertainment center, among other massive objects can be done with enough anger and adrenaline. If you need something time sensitive, don’t put all your eggs in one basket. Shame on me for thinking when I booked a tasker that he would show up!

Don’t sign up for TaskRabbit. When you first sign up to work as an independent contractor for TaskRabbit, you are prompted to go through a long and arduous process of inputting your personal information, to doing a background check, to payment information, to doing TaskRabbit employee on boarding. All independent taskers must complete this, it takes ABOUT A WEEK. You are also required to pay $20 out of pocket to process your registration- this is taken out before you are even accepted to begin work. This means you pay $20 and may NEVER get any work through the app. On top of that, IF you are accepted (which I have been told is difficult as the volume of applications is quite high) TaskRabbit takes a whopping 30% of your earnings. Yes, a full 1/3 of your earnings. (By comparison Rover takes 15-20% Uber 20% GreenPal 5%.) If you are a consumer, TaskRabbit charges you 8%. So in the end, Task Rabbit is pocketing almost 40% of revenue generated simply for connecting you with work or workers. After completing all background checks, on boarding and paying a $20 “registration fee” I was never contacted by TaskRabbit ever again- not even to say that I was not accepted. Overall, a huge waste of time and money. Sadly, I think this app feeds on the desperation of people looking to make some quick money when they are down and out of work/luck. It’s not any better than just finding work on say, Craigslist.

Tasker quality and app reliability are both bad now. Have been using TR for 5 years. It was once a great service. Lately I’ve had multiple taskers cancel on me so last minute I can’t find a replacement that day (after hours of back and forth). There is a strict cancellation policy if you are a client, but doesn’t seem like it affects taskers at all. Also the way the app works isn’t ideal. They will match you with people who are offline, and you expect the task to be completed. Then the next day you get a message saying they are not even available at that time. I would prefer to have TR contact me when there’s a match rather than have me reach out to multiple people (a slightly better experience for matching is Wag, dog walkers). Anyway, I will not use TaskRabbit again in New York. Taskers are unprofessional and all the company can do is give you $10 off your next task. There is no SLA.

Too Many Hidden Fees CS not responding.. Used it once and really sad to see such a good idea about task-taster matching was so trickily implemented. Honestly even if you are upfront about the fee schedule you still have profit to scalp because demand is out there why bother cheating. So I booked a furniture assembly service and I was charged 26 for expense — not itemized so there is a lot of guess work in what it would be. The rabbit refuse to communicate after sending the bill and the Customer service is not responding . Moreover I was billed 3hr30mins for a little over 3hr —again complained, no response. There is also this so called trust and support fee, charged by the platform, that was neither shown on the booking page, nor how it’s calculated even if you visit their fine print QnA. This name is such an irony since this is like a last straw to break my trust and support for this platform.

Great but there’s a flaw with how photos load. Everything works as expected (and the chat function is great), except for how photos load when you try to attach an image. Strangely, photos load in chronological order if you select the default Recent category, with the earliest photos in your library coming up first. I don’t know about anyone else but I have 60k plus images dating back almost 20 years … the dawn of iPhoto lol! Since I don’t have time to scroll through this list, I can’t attach images to my job. I end up texting the tasker directly. Please fix this so that photos come up in reverse chronological order!!

Service sounds like a good idea but execution is bad. I booked a task that requires 2 taskers. It’s impossible to talk to both taskers at once and they are not coordinated so if they can’t be there at the same time there’s no way to reschedule just one tasker, which means you have to cancel the task and start all over again but then you can’t find the one tasker who could actually do it again because you can’t chat with the original tasker again. Compound this with the fact that there is NO PHONE NUMBER TO CALL makes something that should have taken 10 minutes to straighten out a 5 day process, and the job still hasn’t even started yet. This company is not ready for prime time, let alone an IKEA service. Please hire some customer service reps and make this a smoother processes for your customers. Not happy.

Can we please have better tipping options?. I used the app this weekend for cleaning and moving out of my old apartment and it works great - the chat function makes it super easy to communicate with the Tasker and the interface is otherwise very aesthetically pleasing and easy to use. My one complaint is it would be nice to have the option to leave more tip than just the standard 25% max. Some of the stuff I had the guys do was very labor intensive and a situation where I felt like they deserved much more than the default amount. I didn’t have cash on me (otherwise I would have done that) so we worked out a Venmo thing, but it would have been much easier had I the option of entering a custom tip amount. Otherwise it’s great and I will be using it more in the future!

AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE. I had a Tasker come to install wallpaper and there wasn’t enough wallpaper so he had to come back to finish the task when I got back from vacation in a couple of weeks. When I went to reschedule him to come back, it became clear that he did not know what he was doing (the wallpaper was falling off at this point). READ THE FINE PRINT. Task Rabbit states that you can’t report anything after 14 days no matter the circumstances. So, now I have to eat the cost of the task ($183) along with the cost of the wallpaper ($150) and I still have no wallpaper in my house. They refused a refund or to reimburse because the 14 days had passed. When I asked them to reopen the case, they “ended the chat” and just said “have a good day”. I’ve never experienced this kind of awful customer service in my life. I should also mention I’ve been a loyal customer for YEARS. So, I’m NEVER USING TASK RABBIT AGAIN. Thumbtack here I come.

Taskers not reliable. I used task rabbit once a little over a year ago and had good luck getting some curtains hung. This year I scheduled the same tasker to hang more curtains also with good luck. I then requested a separate tasker to install a new garbage disposal. He rescheduled multiple times, but finally came out and seemed to install the disposal well. UNTIL I tried to use my dishwasher a few days later and it wouldn’t drain. After a quick google, it was obvious the tasker left off a step. But since my task was closed, I had no way of reaching my tasker. I had to schedule another tasker at a minimum one hour rate to get the problem fixed. This one never showed up. Back to the app, and found the tasker who installed. Scheduled him - a a minimum one hour. He immediately replied that he would check it out, but our scheduled task time wasn’t good for him and he offered no other times! Wth!

Grateful for this app!!!. This app definitely came to my rescue!!! I had a heavy appliance scheduled for delivery on a Friday & they were supposed to give me a heads up 30 minutes prior to arrival but they did NOT. I was not able to make the arrangements I had planned but luckily I was able to find someone to help me via the app. It was the 4th of July holiday weekend so most were not available until after the weekend. The app is very user friendly & the communication was great. Really, I am so happy I came across this app!!! Great experience for my first time using it…hoping for more positive experiences in the future :)
