Keep an open mind here. I have read a number of reviews complaining about the cost of the stompboxes and effects and that the company just wants your money. Keep an open mind when trying an app like this. You get all kinds of great functionality for pennies compared to what it would cost in real hardware. There is no comparison. I like Fender amps so I bought a bundle of them. I needed a set of the typical effects (delay, chorus, overdrive) and was set with about $15 out of pocket. I needed an octave pedal, got one for another $4. Also, do yourself a favor and check out the videos of pros using the app. There is a good one for the Stomp IO that gives away a couple tips that are worth your time. For example: dime the volume on a Fender Twin Reverb and get all the tone and gain w/o killing your ears or your audience’s ears. I always complain that I can’t get my amp up loud enough to really get the tone I want. Well, now I can.

Stop trying so hard to get me to buy stuff!. Look guys, you have an amazing app here, but the barrage of upselling makes me not even want to use it. I know you guys need to make your money, but the way you're going about it makes for a terrible user experience. The ad that displays when you load the app is annoying, but at least it gets out of your way reasonably quickly, but having the "record" and "studio" buttons in the bottom toolbar is about the most inconvenient thing I've ever had to put up with in an app. The toolbar buttons are small enough as it is, and shoving two more buttons in it for functions I don't even want make navigating the app a nightmare. The fact that I get a message asking me if I want to buy if I accidentally hit one of those buttons is even more offensive. If you're keeping count, that's 3 extra steps I have to go through every time I accidentally hit the "studio" option. One tap to get into it, one tap to cancel the purchase, and another tap to get back to the section I wanted to access to begin with. I've already dropped quite a bit of cash on Amplitube purchases, and I would love to keep throwing money at you, but the upselling is so pushy that I really don't even want to mess with it anymore. I'm still giving you 3 stars because your emulation is great and you give me tons of options, but your UX is tragic. Seriously, this is freshman-year-design-school stuff, and there's really no excuse for it.

LOVE IT!!!. Amplitube is just what I needed. I got an irig HD and Amplitube with in-app purchases. At first everything started to add up quick with the irig HD for 100 then amplitube with professional sounding amps and pedals I spent about 60 bucks for the amps and pedals so altogether $160 for everything. Now I don't need a jam group I just go to buzz tube app and look up a blues 12 bar backing track or jazz, rock, ect. And jam anytime with just my iPad and irig / Amplitube and guitar and if I want to sound louder or just better quality I plug in my Computer speakers to the iPad, and even at night with my head phones. I recommend this app for anyone who loves guitar but can't pay thousands for good guitar equipment like Orange, Fender, slash and Jimmy Hendrick's amps and special effects pedals. I'm using an old electric guitar that a friend gave me that sounds horrible through my cheap Amp but sounds amazing through Amplitube!

DO NOT BUY. Absolutely the worst customer service I’ve dealt with in a long time. Bought the IRig2 HD and have been trying for two days now to get the full version that its supposed to come with it. I’ve put in help tickets that have not been responded to, and tells me the page does not exist when I try to check the status. Ive tried to call the customer service phone number in the US and it just rings, nobody answers. I’ve looked on the internet and this seems to be a common problem with their product that they don’t care to make right. It forced me to put at least one star, but if zero was an option, I would chose that!

The hate isn’t justified. I started out with just the free version but quickly upgraded to the essentials pack (basically paying in full for the app via the other one in the store) once I realized the capabilities of what I could achieve for a fraction of the price and in a mobile form (via my iPad). The ability to bring my instruments and iPad with me for practicing with limited space more than made everything worth it. My only issue is I can get some feedback at times, but with some fine tuning and tinkering you can find the sweet spot. All in all a good product with a few money making ideas (which I feel are justified) for the quick use and portability.

More like iRigged to get your money. One pay wall after another even after you buy stuff. Bought the fender bundle which was marketed as all the fender gear but it only gives you some of it. The drum looper has split second gaps making it too frustrating to play with, and the US is super confusing. If you drop sections and try to put them back in it asks you to buy them again. The sound drops out a lot and you have to dig through tons of settings to get to work again. The irig HD-2 uses the lightning port, but doesn’t have a port to plug power in. And go figure, this capability cost an extra $60. Returning this junk and just using a real amp. This app could be great but I’d rather spend my time figuring out my music than how to get the app to work.

Not good. Why does this app crash ALL THE TIME. Had a hard time opening app at first. Reinstalled, then had trouble with the interface. I click "add gear" and the whole app shuts down. It's a good thing your app is buggy before I give you my hard earned money for more pedals. Won't be buying the full app. Sad thing is I spent $40 on the little device to plug my guitar into this junk app. I hate to be harsh, but this is just ridiculous for an app expected to demonstrate professionalism. Hope I can take the iRig back for refund. Two stars for concept, but bad execution. Get a new developer.

Ignore bad reviews. Never mind the griping. This is the future of practice amplification. Where on earth are you gonna find an amp collection anywhere near as cool as amplitube? I think it sounds I little warmer and richer than positive grid products. I will say that I like the pedal selection and a lot of the functionality of bias fix 2. Too bad for competition... we’ve yet to really get a masterpiece of an app... but this concept is really growing... hardware is starting to develop. I’m grabbing an ik amp with the interface... gone are the days of underwhelming practice amps.

Awkward first time user experience, annoying UI. I bought an iRig HD 2, which includes access to a pro version of AmpliTube. The audio quality is good, but the setup UX leaves much to be desired, and the pedal selection tool is annoying. Complaint #1: I followed the getting started guide that came with the hardware, and was disappointed by my initial experience with the app. After far too long, I discovered that I was not signed in to for the pro version. An indication that I was on the free tier would have saved me some trouble. Even better would be if the app had detected the device, read the serial number, and automatically signed me in. This brings me to complaint #2. Complaint #2: Once I signed in, I had to manually enter the serial number. It was easy to copy-paste from the website, but this should have been auto-detected. This sort of gaffe is okay in a startup, but IK Media is too mature for this sort of sloppy work. Fix it. Complaint #3: I cannot see which pedals I have purchased and which I have not until I click on them. This is annoying. A lock/unlock icon or a way to list only those effects which I have purchased would reduce this friction. Once the app is running, I am happy with the audio quality, but I cannot forget how annoying it was to set up. I am reluctant to buy new effects due to the clunky pedal selection tool. The hardware is great, but I am on the hunt for a better app.

Rip off. So I went and bought an iPad specifically to use Amplitube after I had already bought it (the full version) on my iphone (which they ripped me off too, read my review and explanation for iPhones). I thought I could download it and have all my purchases! NO!!!! They not only want me to repurchase it, they want me to pay twice the price for the same thing, just a bigger screen! Are you kidding me?! Well, you ripped me off! That's ok though, cause I just went and got the cracked PC FULL VERSION for FREE through a download! It's way better than the iOS in all respects, I didn't pay a penny! Man karma is a b**** ain't it? Looks like I'll be using my iPhone for the next while. Maybe when I see their 50% off I'll think about it....

nice app, sort of strange. only sounds good with my triple pick up hollow body guitar but maybe thats just me. can you not just delete a recording if you dont like it also? do you have to record over the track from the beginning or something? very strange, i suppose ill figure it out soon, i think the recording system just needs some user-friendly improvements. i have the full recording package, the effects setup pertaining to a certain track is sort of weird, can you not change effects without changing them all? is that what that single switch is for, its not really clear but it is clear you cant go back if you apply it thats for sure! an effects demo capability would be great too before you spend $2 on something you may not even like. its a nice app though, keep up the good work and if you're reading this to decide if you want to download or not, do it!

If I had only known how aggravated I would become!. Received my Irig HD2 today. Setup on my iPad was okay, but have been unable to unlock the “FULL” version. I have entered my Serial number at least 20 times but to no avail. Went to install on my Windows 10 pc and it wouldn’t download AmpliTube due to “Setup was unable to create the directory C:\users\Shop\Documents\IK Multimedia” along with others in the same vein. After several hours of this along with pop ups wanting more of my funds I have said to hell with this. I was just hoping to record some of my guitars and songs and have some fun with this. There is no “FUNl”. Tech support is sadly disappointing. After going online to request technical assistance and filling out their form I was greeted by the following: Error - Please check your fields and resubmit: Invalid characters used in Message field. They don’t make it easy. No success. Maybe later. Prepare to be aggravated. I’m thinking about finding an old reel to reel after this.

Little Dissapointed. It's not a bad app, but when I originally bought the app I purchased it on my iPhone. I later found out that if you purchase the iPad version, all purchases load to the iPhone. However, it's not the same the other way around. Ik Multimedia did install some in app purchases after I contacted them, but after Apple updates, etc., I found that I have to install the free version and none of my purchases installed after restoring purchases. Also, be aware this company is sickening with adds trying to get you to purchase their other products. Although you've purchase the product you will be interrupted by their adds.

Why are ios newbies allowed to write reviews?. First off, anyone giving a free app a one star rating has too much time on their hands - why whine about something you didn't pay for, and don't "need"? I use an iRig interface, and for the most part, it works perfectly in every app I have ever tried it with, Ampkit, Studiotrack, Multitrack HD, et al. Every time you install or update an audio or music app you should restart your iPad/iPhone/iTouch, everyone has known that for two years or more. Finally, this app only gets better - re-amping, fender upgrades, vocal removal, time stretching - and you can get the basics for free. Latency is low, quality is high, and these are tools we couldn't imagine having three years ago in something so portable and affordable. As for the guy with the radio stations coming through? Dude, you know that iPads and iPhones can multitask, right? Or are your fillings loose? This app would be five stars if they could add audio copy and paste, but otherwise it is an insanely good deal at the price of FREE.

Not what I thought. Thought this was a great idea to be able to play and practice in the house. Wrong.... This is the worst sounding thing I have ever heard. I want good quality sounds not hire a guitar tech to tweak my iPad give me a break. I bought the adapter downloaded the program all excited and all it does is squeal. Then I see there is another program that you can buy that from reviews says is great but now I'm going in deep for $$ ?I don't want to take a chance on because they suckered me in on this one and it stinks. Guess ill stick with my Pandora's box. Hell even my rockman from the 80's sounds better than this. Even tried different guitars all the same even with all the tweaking I did. Frustrating!

everything is locked behind a pay wall. I can’t even make tones and no free distortion

Absolutely Useless. I've been a professional musician/producer for 20 years, and I thought this might be useful for small gigs… I was wrong. If you have no guitar amp whatsoever and you want something to screw around with… this app would be fine. I bought the iRig, downloaded Amplitube FREE and bought a couple of stomps. It's really worthless for anything other than sitting in your room jamming and even then, not for me. It's like fingernails on a chalkboard. I'm sure this app would be useful to some but I wouldn't under ANY circumstances pay $20 for the full version or recommend it for anything other than novelty purposes. This is just my opinion…

Where's the stuff?. I love amplitube for desktop, but this makes me sad. Very limited selection of gear. It's understandable that the free app comes with hardly anything, but what's there to buy is very small. Worse, there are no samples and no way to try them out, so you buy something based on the name and hope it's what you wanted. There has to be a way to know what you're getting. Buying an external device doesn't help as much as you think either. I registered the irig 2 and ended up with three amps that all sound the same and five generic pedals, including what comes free. For the good, there aren't any latency issues or popping and the software runs solid.I see a lot of potential here, especially if they can sync accounts or give more to desktop users. Once they add more diverse gear and some way to hear or demo gear, this would be great. Until then, keep this as a fallback app and use something like bias fx or tonestack to put your money into.

Needs AUV3 support for Logic Pro for iPad. This would be a great plugin as an AUV3 with support for Logic Pro for iPad!

Unstable and unreliable. This app used to be fantastic, replaced my analog rig when I added the stomp io to it. Now it just freezes all the time! Glad I don’t gig anymore because this app is totally unreliable.

Un usable after update!. This app used to work well but after installing the update for the tuner it stop working. The app had to be re installed. First it was not letting me download my purchase expansions. Mind you I bought the Slash, Fender, Hendrix & the 8 track recording studio. I didn't have access to any of them. I open up a ticket with IK & after a couple of days the reply with instructions on how to fix it. Then the app was not saving my recordings, I open another ticket with IK & they told me they knew about the issue & they advice me to stay tune for the next update...Really, they had no issue taking my money when I purchase the expansions & now I have no access to my features that I pay for. Let us shout & clap for apps that take your money & then they droop you when there are problems with their software!

Don't buy it!. Until they fix the massive multitude of bugs these programs are loaded with this program and all the related apps are a complete waste of your money. If you want to shell out a whole bunch of money and be completely frustrated than you have been in a long time be my Guest other than that stay away until you see some positive reviews. In theory this app looks great and will probably be a good product if they continue to improve upon it. Considering I spent more than $100 on this app I hope at some point I am able to use it and replace the equipment I was hoping to.

Horrible support. This app has promise, but bad design and glitches make it likely you'll blow out your eardrums, as the input/output level settings reset after the app crashes and restarts. I posted the problem on the developer's user forum and they wrote back blaming the problem on the cable setup I had on the iRig. But I had this same setup going for a year with no problems until the last update. I posted again saying the problem is with the settings being reset after a crash, causing high pitched modulated feedback, and they deleted my whole topic thread. So that's how they handle bugs. Beware.

Working like a charm.. I added the 5th star from 4 after getting back into tracking. I need to get used to the varying degrees of gain staging again. It's been awhile since I've used amplitube and it seems like the signal is either really hot or not hot enough, especially if I'm trying to record any clean tones. Seems like that's because there's some discrepancy between levels at all stages of the signal path that don't necessarily end up at the same levels that they initially sounded like. With an initial line in, then an amp level, then your effects that can drastically effect your levels, the track volume level, and the post effects effects level (without compression I lose lots of volume here) there's a lot of staging. But that's just something to get used to and I haven't even checked the forums to see what might be protocol. Bottom line is I prefer the UI over any other ios multitracking app and the effects sound much more like effects .. they can get noisy, but that's not a big deal either. (I'm a big fan of using the looping feature for accidental tracks also) Thanks again for getting the cloud iap thing worked out. That's what I was trying to do last time I used the app, but it sounds like any and all bugs have been squished. ITS ALL GRAVY. THANK YOU AMPLITUBE! As promised the 5th star.

Add-ons will NOT transfer to paid version!. Do NOT purchase any of the additional gear through the Free version of Amplitube - if you decide to purchase the paid version of Amplitube later, your additional gear will not carry over! IK told me to buy everything again and then try to get refunds through iTunes support for the things I purchased under the free version of Amplitube. ?!?! Stooooopid! Giving the app three stars because it is a great app, but they will nickel and dime you with all these upgrades, and then make you re-purchase them all again if you upgrade later.

Pretty useless really. Downloaded this app hoping it would be cool. Instead it is annoyingly self contained and unable to talk to other apps- eg no Audiobus support. For the money (and it's not cheap to buy all the amps, fx etc) it should have come with a basic drum machine. Instead, IK only offers a somewhat unsteady and uninspiring metronome. Some of the amps and presets are not bad (not great either) but there's nowhere else to go with any recordings. Moreover, almost every feature of Amplitude costs extra and so by the time you get all the add-ons, you will have shelled out quite a bit of money - money better spent on some of the better stuff out there. I think if IK Multimedia were to bundle SampleTank and amplitude into a DAW with audio recording capabilities, then, they'd be onto something, instead of selling a whole lot of next to useless toys. That said, I really like SampleTank despite it not supporting Audiobus, but I don't get the poor quality of the rest of their products. In short: give this one a miss and save your money!

Crashing after update? Remove and reinstall. I also tried to update the app for the hendrix update and found that it would not open after the update. I followed the advice from another reviewer by removing the app entirely, downloading in iTunes, and then reinstallating in my iPad. Seems to be working fine now - not the way updates should work but at least I have functionality back. I don't see any of the Slash in-app purchases in the "store" but since I had purchased them earlier they were loaded following my "restore purchases".

The work ikMutimedia put into the app has really started to show.... I bought this app in 2015 & upgraded it to the full version in 2016. I’m writing my review on this CS version since I can’t write it on the full version. After getting the Slash, Hendrix & Orange packs I liked Amplitube, but preferred ToneStack from Yonac. The tones were okay but just too fizzy & digital for my tastes. I saw Greg Koch demo the Fender 2 collection on the desktop version of Amplitube and immediately wanted it for this iOS version. When it arrived I was blown away how far the emulating tech had come, and using the Fender 2 pack is a joy. I’m not saying the older amps aren’t usable; there are several amp/pedal combos from the earlier packs I’ve made good presets with. But the Fender 2 stuff is just in a different league. As I write this in mid April 2018 there’s a bundle sale going on, if you haven’t tried the app or Fender 2 I really recommend it. I’m no cork sniffer when it comes to amps, i.e. they must be tube, 50 years old, wrapped in tweed, etc. but I have a late ‘60’s Deluxe that this app comes very close to the ballpark indeed. Especially just a SM57, close mic’d rhythm tone that cleans up with some volume backed off...they’ve really captured that mic’d guitar amp tone. Highly recommended.

Decent but lacks one needed feature. I love this app, and able to process with the right mixing a decent thick and doomy sounding tone, however it really needs the ability to dual run with other apps. I use notion to compose and tab tracks first hand and like to play along with them before entering the studio to make sure I'm timing it right. It's app I can't do so. I can do it with other amp apps, but are either noisy as hell or I can't seem to get the sound I'm looking for for what I am spending. Please update for allowing it be ran behind other apps like other alternatives on the App Store

IK Multimedia products are difficult to use. I'm extremely frustrated with IK Multimedia. I bought the iRig HD 2 and it was not working. I found it that they were packaged with faulty wires. After going back to Guitar Center and picking up a working wire, I follow the instructions (which seem straight forward) only to find that the product isn't working. I can see the Blue Light is turned on when I plug in the lightning cable into my iPad Pro, but I get no sound. What's even more frustrating is that you can't find any tutorials or help online on the iRig HD 2. Save your money on the iRig and this app - use the money to buy some hardware.

Not bad, but lacking.. I’ve used AmpliTube Mac for a long time as well as on iOS. With proper tweaking, it does a good job. My main gripe now is that the audio output does not recognize AirPods as an audio device, which could greatly enhance the usability of this app. Secondly, there are too many add-ons one must buy. There should be an all-inclusive bundle that isn’t overpriced, considering we are talking about simulation of real gear on a device that typically has an inferior audio path compared to a pro recording studio.

Lame, bad integration. So I’ve owned several IK products over the years. I just got a Duo Pro and registered it in my laptop. Then connected it to my iPad and tried to open my account to get the free software. Account not recognized! This is a familiar problem with IK: the one hand known now what the other is doing. And Amplitude CS is beyond lame: only works in portrait mode, as if the iPad were some kinda phone! I’m glad there are better alternatives for guitar amps and FX on iPad or I’d be returning this unit. As it is, there is no way I’m going to pay twice for Amplitude, as I bought it once but it won’t restore (because my account is not recognized on iPad even though it is via web browser) and, anyway, it is supposed to be free with purchase of the Duo. Hardware: decent; software: sucky.

Great (Alternative) way to play without....... Great way to play without having to spend $1000s on am-s and pedals and sound effects . Everything you need in one app. Yes it does cost money, people want are complaining like it supposed to be free!! Its well worth the money and sounds like the real thing(too its counterparts). Amps, pedals, sound effects, mics, and so on. Stop complaining people. Its well worth it.

$.05 and $.10. They never sent my key to unlock the distortion box. It made the decision to uninstall the demo pretty easy. The stupid business model where they just keep charging you to release one feature at a time combined with apple's poor design decisions (why is there no mic input?) make this a big fat waste of money. By the time you are done being nickel and dimed you could have bought a nice headphone preamp. The developers seem to be dazzled by their own fancy graphics. Just because it looks like expensive music gear doesn't mean it's not still just a $2.00 app.

AmpliToy. I'll be returning the iRig I recently purchased, then deleting this app. This is nothing more than a toy, a gimmick, a curiosity. First and foremost, I would give this app five stars if my goal was to listen to right wing talk radio while playing guitar, as my blues licks were evenly mixed with the local AM radio station. I haven't experienced this phenomenon since playing an old Kalamazoo guitar through a 1965 Fender Bronco amp. Needless to say, it's not what I expect from my noiseless pickup-equipped Stratocaster and oxygen-free shielded cables. Secondly, the controls are simply a joke. Touch the gain knob and the setting is off the anywhere but where you want it to be. There is simply no way to make a precise tone, gain or volume setting using this user interface. I'll not engage in the "one star meanness" that's common on the web these days. Ampitube is an interesting endeavor, and an adventurous undertaking, but it's not ready for the big time. If you're looking for a cute toy to connect your guitar to your iPad, this will suffice. However, if you're looking for a high-quality guitar interface for the iPad, capable of doing professional quality recordings, this isn't your app. I'm still looking.

Crashes so often, I can't buy it yet. I love IK Multimedia. I own iRig and love it--works perfectly. I own iKlip. Way over-priced, but I love it, too. I want to love AmpliTube and am chomping at the bit to purchase the full version, but the free version crashes on start-up 7 out of 10 times and mid-use 6 out of 10 times, so until there's a bug fix that addresses that issue, I'll continue to use my iRig with iShred and PocketAmp, neither of which measure up to what AmpliTube COULD be, but at least they function reliably. If AmpliTube worked, I'd more than like buy Sonoma's DAW app for iPad, even at $40. but right now I'm not taking the risk. So many complaints about crashes for so longs, and no action taken by the developer to fix the bug? Adds up to lost sales for IK Multimedia and increased sales for Peavy. So far, though, AmpliTube Fender Free has worked fine, so I just bought that. still waiting for regular AmpliTube to get its proverbial crap together. This could easily be a 5-star review. Shame it's not.

Great product, 4 stars because.... This is an awesome app. being able to take my ipad for an amp instead of an actual heavy and bulky amp? hell yeah! bad reviews look biased, nobobpdy talks about uninstalling and reinstalling the app. but i cant say that for sure because i just dont know. no problems here, perfect for my acoustic electric and great for my electric too! 4 stars because i think the $30 for the iRig component, should provide you more options when downloading the app. like using a serial number upon downloading for registration. it probably only costs a dollar to manufacture the iRig itself. That just seems too hefty a price to still pay for any extras in the app. but it works great!

Does not work with Logic Pro for iPad. I have the full bundle, and once I got into Logic Pro, it does not work. Ik Multimedia you need to get your act together and make this a plug-in. I have a lot of money invested in this, and it’s worthless to record.

Great app !!!. I needed to jam, so i recently bought i guitar and bought the iRig and started to play right away. The free pedals that come with it are really easy to use, and when you find the find combination you can get some really cool sounds. I bought the overdrive pedal, and when you add some delay on it, it is perfect. You can load up tunes from your iTunes and play along with them. Perfect for me, so i can jam along to my new album, new possibility for a live show. Sometimes it crashes after you load up songs from itunes, maybe they can fix this.

amplitude rocks. I have been playing guitar for about 12 years, and I got this over a month ago with the irig and it is great. There is a hiss if you do not use the noise stomp box, and if you unplug anything while the app is open you will get bad feed back that is hard to get rid of without deleting and reloading app. If you can follow instructions this think rocks, I even play it through my amp and jam with my friends in the garage. It's loud enough for a garage band. I still have not tried it for the Itouch but will soon then it will be totally portable. Good luck and jam on my friends.

Worthless Crap App. I went all in, the idea was nice but the app is useless. Every time they do an update you lose all of your purchases, their support is non existent and a huge waste of time. What I got was more or less tough luck, you'll have to buy them all over again. I bought the I stomp box, it too is junk. Don't use batteries, it burns through them in no time, comes on by itself and eats the battery. Junk, just like the app, and once they have your money you are out of luck. The sound, when it did work, was below average, nothing to write home to mom about, if I were Slash or any of the other big names who have signed on with these losers, I would think twice about being part of this sham fest. I have lost a ton of money on the in app purchases and the stomp box. If I can save one person from having the same experience, then writing this review was worth it. Oh and if you want this on your iPad and touch you have to buy each in app purchase all over again. What a bunch of thieves!one more thing. They only post the 3 or 4 good reviews, never the ones that tell what a scam this is.

About "Crap" litube. I just started playing around with the iPad version after working with the Mac software. So far, I am having great luck with everything that I have tried on the iPad version. From my short experience thus far, the "problem" with importing from iTunes is not that it locks you out. The "Done" button does not highlight after you select a song from your iTunes library. Select a tune and go ahead and press the still grayed out "Done" button. For me, at least, the song is converted to WAV format and loads right into Amplitube. I own several homes and taking my iPad, iRig and a few guitars to move around and simply write and rehearse is much easier than dragging a practice amp and a load of pedals. I have even quit bringing along the DigiTech and Korg modelers! Not sure about the problem with the sound through a "good" set of headphones mentioned above. Everything sounds great through a set of Bose noise canceling 'phones! As for the effects being applied to tunes being played and not just the guitar, the effects are only applied to the signal coming in throughout the "jack". Tracks that I have imported from iTunes are unaffected while my guitar plays as dirty as I care to make it. Again, just MY experience but it has been a good one! I am giving this a 4 star vs. 5 only to leave myself room to be even more impressed as I use it a bit more! Give this free software a try ... as "Bluto" said in "Animal House" ... "it don't cost nothin'!"

Too marketing heavy. I purchased this some time ago. Their effects are very good and the product is good. However, ads come up, some of the gear is locked, and they continually ask for more $$$. This is very annoying. I tried the desktop version but sunk about $600 into it and still can’t use many of the presets. For the money you are better off scraping the software and going to a multi effects pedal. You will spend more time playing guitar and less time finagling with things that don’t work without sinking more money.

Nice app, but needs improvement. I also noticed lots of noise, which can only be overcome with the noise filter. The signal from the guitar is rather week. It is nearly impossible to get a clean, undistorted sound. The distorted sound however sounded ok to me, and it sustains. PocketAmp is better: no noise and easy to use interface. The iRig works fine, it's ok for the money paid. Considering that it is a free version I gave 4 stars. I am hoping for improved future versions before spending $ 20.

Great song learning tool. OK… so the effects are not "stage quality". There's a slight delay from the pick to the earphones. I have been using the iPhone version and have just downloaded the free iPAD version to see if it makes good use of the additional space. The best part? Playing along with a song to learn it. It has a A-B loop so you can isolate a solo - for example - and play along with it over and over. Unlike the other reviewer, I didn't notice any effect from the guitar input overflowing into the song I was playing along with. I had strong distortion on the guitar and the song I was playing along with came through clear as a bell. Other cool feature: If you import a stereo song, it has a vocal remover. Downside: You have to import the songs into it. It will allow you to select songs from your iTunes library, but it converts them to its own format so they essentially take up "double space" on your device. Overall, I really like the free edition. I'll keep using it until I can no longer live without the $20 paid version.

Pretty good. Overall a pretty good app. The sound quality it prety good. i use an aux audio cable to plug it into my amp so that i can use the effects and with a little tinkering of the settings can get good sound quality. As for the option of loading songs onto the music player to be able to play along with, it has one major problem. If you try to play along with songs loaded to the in app music player the stomp box and amps effects are also applied to whatever song you playing and it sounds terrible (ie. If your playing along to a song and using the distortion pedal or the gain is turned up on the amp it distorts the song as well) pretty much useless. So either use the app for playing your guitar, or use it for playing songs, not both. And for that - one star. But overall, i would dl it again and i use it often.

Digital isn't there yet. I had high hopes for the convenience and fun of these amp sims, but they sound so digital, no life, no sustain, completely uninspiring. I tried a free version of Guitar Rig last year, can't say this has improved at all to my ears, but you might find these sounds useful. Using the iRig module is very noisy, although somewhat better with the amp modules in GarageBand. But the tone is such a turn off, I would rather practice without any amp or sim, than be exposed to the mojo-wilting effects of digital sims. My best advice if you want something portable that sounds great is to find a used Zoom PS-02 or similar device and use that with the aux input to practice. I play mostly jazz and blues and get some great tones out of it, enough that I dont at all mind using headphones to practice along with backing tracks, Aebersold, Slow Downer, etc. Amps sims might be okay if you like to crash along, strumming alt rock or death metal, but I imagine even people with those tastes and any degree of exposure to high quality tube amplification will find themselves uninspired. Line 6 sounds much better than this or GarageBand, but still not as organic as Zoom, IMO. But, still, must for practice.

Great app. This is a quality app and I'm thankful there's a free version. Having said that, I know the developers are proud of this but c'mon fellas bring the prices down for all the add-ons! They're outlandish! You'd probably make more sales. As much as I love this app I have no intention of purchasing anything in it until the prices are lowered. Which is a real bummer because I'd love to have all the goodies. Seriously, guys. Help us out here... or at least kiss us on the mouth before you bend us over. Thx

Way too much money for what you get..... I own amplitube for the mac and this is not at all like the computer version. I bought the full iPhone version and was disappointed with the quality. I thought I'd check out the free version for the iPad and it's no different. I also bout the iRig interface and while it seems to be the best out there, the $40 price is ridiculous. Word of Warning: Months ago I bought the PRS iPhone cable and it's CRAP!!!! ($30) At least the iRig works and doesn't crackle and pop like the PRS cable. My feeling is that this software is half baked. IK Multimedia is a good company and they put out really good audio software. I'm hoping that this will get better. I'm not investing anymore (like buying the iPad app) until I see it...

I have lost the last project that i'm going to....... Since the update I have lost countless hours of work and precious tracks that I needed. It's not my iPad, it's your program. I will record some thing only to find its been erased randomly later. It's not my methods, it's your program. I have spent lots of my money on in app purchases that I cannot use because they are associated with an unstable program. I want my money back and intend to pursue this matter until it is ALL refunded to me. This was good money poured into an unstable un-usable program. I will be pursuing other more stable apps such as Auria etc to replace the amplitube that I once enjoyed so much.. and when I find Amplitubes replacement, guess whats coming off my ipad.. It's your program......

Rippoff. So poor!

Disappointed. Was looking forward to using this app for guitar and bass but then......... I had to purchase a bass amp......fairdinkum. When using the bass amp, it was too soft to really hear through my Bose headphones and when I turned it up a little, the sound was distorted. I changed to Senneiser headphones and the result was the same. Was hoping to practice my bass quietly through the app. Turned out to be a big waste of time

Peter_PF. A useful app. The Fender add-ons are a good approximation of my Fender Blues Deluxe amp. Lack of Bluetooth support for headphones is a major omission though.

Cool app. Really cool app so you can take your guitar and iPad or iPhone and jam really anywhere really

Acoustic pedal App. Great app for practice while I work away from home on the mine site for two weeks at a time any chance of an acoustic pedal for acoustic guitar practice with out upsetting my neighbours in our temporary workers huts (aka donger). Also a chord chart would be good when you import a song. Love the speed app for practice cheers Brad.

Good idea. This is a good app but since the new update non of my effects or amps works

KNobs. Fantastic but..... Struggling with the knobs. Very painful to adjust. The iPhone app seems so much easier to adjust these than the iPad app. I just can't seem to get the hang of it... Love the sounds...

Lost my purchases. Had this app on my iPhone. Had to reinstall and lost all my purchases! Won't be spending any more money on this app!

Excellent but. Had free version installed, purchased full version. Opened free version which was still installed and bought inapp 12 dollars or so vocals package via free app. Uninstalled free app, now I lost the inapp purchase. Upon attempting to download inapp purchase again, it's prompting to pay again for something I already bought. Also bought the fender package, 15 dollars or so. Uninstalled both free and paid app and now Both fender and vocal packages have disappeared. On my other iPad same issue, lost vocals purchased via inapp in free, even though the full app is available on both iPads. Net result, no inapp paid purchases, asks to pay again when attempting to redownload inapp purchases which I already paid for once. What to do?

Great app! Improve metronome. Great app, now I'm able to record my ideas and put everything together to compose. I'd suggest to improve the metronome, the first highlighted click is very necessary so maybe an option to activate it (on/off), and the other thing about this to check the accuracy of the metronome. Once I exported a song with metronome and at 160bpm and I imported into a protools session and the 160bpm of amplitube is slightly delayed according with the protools session (I noticed after 3 mins of recording a dispair) so please check this out

Fantastic. I love this app. Now with the multitrack recorder and vocal processor coming what else would you need. Would love the ability to export to mp4 though.

Rip off. Way too expensive. To make it useful one has to buy a ton of IAP... Garage band does the same and better. Waste of money

not bad. drums sound better than garageband however get a digital sound when played at low bpm. 4.99 for 8 combos is rough though. difficulty in removing sections of recorded tracks.

Very poor sound quality. I am very upset after spending money on different amps etc coz the recording quality is soo bad ... super bad quality sound

Mr. Amplitube is rubbish. I bought the iRig. The setup worked once. Then the output level set itself to zero. So I can't hear anything. I've tried amps and headphones. The help section is totally useless and so all I have is a tuner on my iPad that will not put out any sound.

More bugs. For some reason the iRig app no longer saves recordings. As soon as a new project is loaded the take is wiped. What the hell?

Fun app. I am finding this app very handy. I had to adjust the settings to get it to play in the background so I could play along with music from my library or you tube on my ipad. To get to play into my amp I had to get a guitar lead with a small plug at one end and double quarter inch leads at the other. I plugged one end in and the other hangs loose. This worked fine but I would rather use my amp's own sounds when jamming. The pedals and amps that go with it are good enough. However I purchased a Fender Twin Reverb (a simulated one through the app) The reason for three stars are : a) the in app purchases are expensive. B) I can't get it to work with garage band Otherwise a fun app

Okay. A couple more free pedals would be good jamup gives you 6 , only delay and noisegate note enough to test quality, removd

What have you done???. This used to be awesome. Then it was updated. Now I have to pay extra to hopefully get the sound I had on stupid mic placements and cabs. I'd delete the app but I've spent about $100 on in app purchases. What a scam.

Updated iPad. Lost all my in app purchases No way to get them back except to pay Sorry you will never get another cent from me Try stompbox, its much better and you will never lose your gear

Brilliant. I just got started, but what an amazing product already. I went out and bought an iRig to hook it all up, and it just worked like a charm. So cool on the big screen :D

Uninstalling. I have been a fan of ik multimedia since the groove maker days on PC but this software is unusable for me with the constant prompts for purchasing other software products and libraries. Continual bombardment interrupts the creativity flow. What were they thinking - how best to ruin a decent piece of software. Customers have already dropped $149 bucks for the iRig! A real shame.

Good for some things.... Used to love this app and still use it for a few things. Love the effects more than GB (hands down this has better ones) but there's been a few issues over the last five months I've gotten away from this for. I actually use it as a 'recording app' because despite its pretty nonexistent editing functions, those effects are too hard to stay away from! But here's where it goes yuck: in the beginning, you could isolate a track (solo it, whatever..) but now even muting the other tracks and soloing a track there's still some bleed coming through which is ridiculous. Even if you record with this to send to GB or DAW to edit, those other tracks are there which makes it pretty useless in a way. The other thing is the drums. Great that there's drums, of course; but there's always that one step where I have to turn them off before recording something without drums. The other way around would've seemed to make more sense. So apart from those things, this app gets my three stars despite its cost because it has great effects and used to record really well. Fix those other things and it would have four. Get some sort of decent editing interface and I wouldn't use another app because this would be the best in the universe. Yes. The universe.

LOW QUALITY APP & POOR CUSTOMER SUPPORT!. This app is the worst I have tried. Don't get ripped off and misled like i did. If you want a 1960's reel to reel recorder where it's hard to do drop ins then you might like this app. There is no undo option, they offer mastering capabilities but you can't mix your tracks, no audio copy/paste, the tracks bleed sound into each other, it's a difficult to navigate interface, and you're iRig device is better used with any other app. The worst part is it will cost you about $80 with in app purchases to get enough functionality for you to realize that this app is incredibly limited. It will take them years of upgrades just to come close to their competitors. Don't expect the paid version to be any better either, they're identical in every way. The customer support is even worse than the app, so don't expect any assistance if things go wrong. Be warned, steer clear of this companies apps and products, there are far better ones out there for a fraction of the cost, with good customer support!

Crash. Just downloaded the update and it crashed after 30 seconds...seriously do these apps get tested before their release? Very apprehensive now about purchasing the upgrade.

Would give 5 stars if.... I could choose inputs. I have a PreSonus box thing that has 2 inputs.... Guess which one the guitar is and guess which one this app forces the box to use?

Remove Free from icon. I love this app because now I have a portable amp. I've bought some of the panels and it's pretty cool. Just to keep my desktop more sleeker remove the free word from the icon.

Crash city. I downloaded and re downloaded so many times I’ve lost count. On my iPad Pro with current iOS this app opens, sits doing nothing and then shuts down. Please fix this. Or give us a replacement app. I was looking forward to using this with my iRig Nano Amp... but no.

great!. Love this app...except it's missing major function like record!

Scared the poop out of me!. I was about to test this on my speakers but then I heard a lasern fx even though the lasern fx dis able or whatever you call it was on!

Buyer Beware!. This is a fantastic app. It's very polished; it looks incredible, and it works exactly as it should. The effects are great, and the 8-track Mixer is a nice touch. I'd like to give it 5 stars, and indeed I would have…if not for their very questionable practices regarding in-app purchases. If you buy the free version, begin loading it up with in-app purchases such as effects pedals and/or the 8-track mixer, and then decide to upgrade it to the full, paid version…GOTCHA! You discover that IK Multimedia will not transfer your in-app purchases to the upgraded version. You are expected to buy all of those in-apps AGAIN! They do not connect your purchases with you, the user; instead they are tied to the app. Similarly, if you bought the app on your iPad to learn how to use it, and then want to use the smaller form-factor iPhone or iPod Touch to play the gig…GOTCHA again! They will not transfer your in-app purchases to your other devices either. I was so terribly disappointed to discover this unethical practice from a company that I was initially so excited about. Don't let their "Musicians first" slogan fool you; it's clearly money first. At the very least they should have written something about this in their descriptions, so we know what we're getting into. I hope this helps someone to avoid being unpleasantly surprised like I was. I really love the app…I just don't love this company anymore.

Garbage. Large app with virtually no functionality. Maybe my version is just buggy but none of the 3 effects affect the tone at all. The single included amp model is also fairly unresponsive. I bought the iRig and tried it out with Amplitube free. Meh. So I bought Garage band for a fraction of what Amplitube with recording functionality would cost. This app is a terrible value, even if it worked properly. Sad, since the PC version of Amplitube is awesome.

Lovely. I think it is a great idea to have a lite version cuz it is free.. Thanks Ik

Latest update a disaster!. I was really loving this app right up until the most recent update. It crashes immediately after opening and refuses to stay open. I've got effects pedals I've paid for that I cannot access. Please fix this problem quickly. Otherwise, the program is great.

Needs core audio support. First of all a word about gear: if you expect sound from the 1/8 headphone jack adapter to be as good as one going through the 30 pin digital, you are setting yourself up for disappointment and frustration. Trust me, you can hear and feel the price difference. I’m a bass player and have an iRig and an iRiffport. Actually, no, I just gave away my irig to a friend. And until Ik Multimedia comes up with its own core audio solution and enables digital input, we’ll have to settle from mediocre sound, gain and lag issues. It’s a shame really because the app is complete and well made. You get tons of tones, useful tools like a tuner and metronome, a good multitrack recording interface, and my favorite: background audio/ ios multitasking. This basically enables you to dial in your tone, hit the home button and run a sheet music app like forScore or iRealb while still hearing yourself. Interesingly enough, the free version of Ampkit enables all that, except the recording is way more basic. ! (And yes, Ampkit works with the iRiffport.)

Fun to use.. The IRig HD2 with a pair of amped headphones sounds pretty good. I can practice anytime without interrupting others. The other apps are fun too use. Some are a little pricey but they sometimes have 50% off specials.

It's a good app, I like it.. Yeah, it can be pricey; be careful when high as fuque on a payday. I usually run my iRig2 through my Sony headset for practice and a 40 watt DOD to either soothe the beast or rattle the neighbors, depending on mood. I'm cheap, so I've been putting off on getting the HD but I'm seriously considering it. I play everything from jazz to church burning with lots of different folk and they're either impressed or, well, impressed. I've no idea why the low rating - it's worth the money, I've never had a tech issue (running through my iPad, smoothly), and I'm not a bot. So there.

Love it!. Sounds great, works great, easy to use, nice interface. Give it a try!

Reason I bought iPad. I wanted a bass and guitar amp cause I had no amplification. Great app.

craches, no support. Why can't IK support the IODOck? Pointless...

It's just great!!!. It's just great: loop drummer!, studio recorder!, rig- everything is awesome! Great app!!!

iOS 7.0 glitch?. Sound output stopped working after iOS 7.0 upgrade...even after reinstall. Also just purchased the Slash pack, was anxious to try it out, but now can't...frustrating! Want money back!!!

please help. my Irig doesnt work when i connect it to my amplifier or even to the headphones. i dont know what to do.please help

Won’t open. Did an IOS update and nothing Amplitude works. App won’t open after IOS 15 update. Wow.

Not working on iOS 15!. This just crashes out on iOS 15. Don’t update if you need it, I’m stuck now. IK - fix this up please!

Rip off. I started using this app on my iPhone , made a bunch of purchases for some extra gear. Just got a iPad and none of my purchases are transferable and I got some bs excuse from tech support on why I should pay for them again. Bogus.

I just lost 200$. It use to be a great company. I asked for a refund the same day and apple refused to refund it . DONT BUY IT

80% always pop up at opening. I already own all in one and I payed full price at 2021 and I got always this pop up when I open the apps just to remind my self I payed to much for it. So can you make an update to erase this f…….. message when we already got it

Decent, but a couple deal breakers. This is pretty good, and I want to get the full version, but there are a couple major problems: 1. The iRig is noisy, so you pretty much have to use the noise filter with anything high gain. This is understandable. But the noise filter kills your tone. I don't know why this can't just use a gate or expander like most noise reducers. 2. All effects have to go in front of the amp. I want my delay to be after the amp (or in the amp's effects loop) but there's no option for that, so delay on a hi gain setting sounds like total mud. Until these are fixed, I'll stick with GarageBand.

Craches. Just can't use it anymore, crashes as soin as i open IT

Disappointed. I purchased the Orange amp pack (through the app which was a big mistake as now App Store has no record of the purchase which will make seeking a refund difficult) and it didn’t come with two of the advertised pedals which would have made a huge difference with the mediocre distortion and terribly uncomfortable feedback(highway drive and noise gate were missing), both issues which do not exist on real Orange amps. The core app when plugged into GarageBand puts the GarageBand controller on top of amp controls so you cannot configure certain amps while plugged in. It’s poor, lazy coding. Hundreds of hours and unnecessary ear ringing later and I’m back at square one with wasted money. Just save it all for the real thing even if you’re using a bad mic on a bad amp, as even a bad real thing will trump these awful digital tones. I am totally aware of the inherent fundamental limitations of an iPad and digital tones but this is just that bad that it exceeded my rock bottom low standards going in.

No sound. There is no sound the second time I use it

Junk. Don't even think about buying this. Can't get a sound out of it. Wanted to get a user manual, but you have to register to get that and after 30 minutes of a useless circle of registering and password resets I gave up.

Amplitude. Glitchy. Does not work as indicated. Controls don't work properly. Sometimes the app just refuses to work at all.

Crap. Piece of crap crashes as soon as it opens, if you can't get the free version to work, there's no way I'm paying for the full version. I rate it -10 stars.

If the App would only work as intended. I am really disheartened that for iPad this app has no sound output, even after doing a bunch of troubleshooting and finding the hardware works with software not made buy the manufacturer.

Please fix. I cannot click the menu button in the bottom right hand corner

Trash. If the app didn't crash every time upon start up, and I didn't have to re-download after every use and wait 20 minutes it'd get a better rating. Until they fix this broken app, unworthy of anyone's time, it's a piece of garbage that shouldn't you shouldn't bother trying.

Are you joking? What a useless piece of c.... I’ve tried almost all of these type of apps, this is by far the worst in any dimension. Shame, this used to be a good company.

2.2 won't stay open. As with the comment someone made about paid version, 2.2 doesn't function for me on iPad - closes as soon as it's opened.

Crashes all the time.. This seems like a decent program, but it is impossible to test it out fully (i.e to see if it would be worth the full price). I have managed to get it to stay open, by tapping on the screen as soon as it opens (it asks whether you are using headphones or speaker), but it crashes if I look at it funny.... or if I switch apps.... or pretty much anything. Oddly enough, the (free) Fender version works. I would recommend GarageBand (at $5) or AmpKit over this app, but between AmpKit and this app, they are money pits if you do all the in-app purchases (for stompboxes, mics, etc). GarageBand doesn't have as many fancy things (less goodies for more serious types to play with, but plenty for someone just messing around), but you get way more (IMO) for way less.

Read the reviews. Hello IK, You make pretty good products. You know you do. I own Amplitube 5 for my Mac and it’s great. It’s been worth every penny and more. The Fender amps sound great. When I bought an iRig 2 HD for practice and making stuff on the go, I got Amplitube SE, with only a handful of pedals and amps…fine. You guys aren’t Apple. You can’t give away software for free to make your platform more sticky. But the upsell. Oh goodness, the ads for IK stuff, every time I open the app! We’re amateur guitar players, folks. You don’t need to convince us to buy more gear and plug-ins. Let me enjoy the thing I just bought without trying to sell me again right away or make me sift through amp and pedal menus cluttered with stuff I didn’t pay for yet. Put a store menu in the main menu. I’ll get over there eventually, believe me. So, I’ve deleted this app. Going to use the stock stuff in GarageBand. Which actually might not sound as good. Anyway, great products, keep up the good work.

Can't buy fender bundle. Been trying for days to buy fender bundle but says "this bundle is currently being modified" Wish I could actually buy something

Crashing. App worked fine after initial install; even purchased a few effects. Recording was fine and everything worked great until most recent update. Now the app crashes everytime i try to open it. Gives a loading graphic overlayed on the amp then crashes. Disappointed because it a cool app. Tried updating my iPad O/S but it made no difference.

For the ones that Crash or does not work.. O.K. I haven't had the best of luck with this IK IPad Free Ample Tube Downloader. At first it worked great. Then I put it down for a month, came back after recording on my Desk Top Cubase & Studio One, and found that it stalled Frozen. But Why? I did everything right, what is going on? I played with it for hours to get it going or find out why it froze, then it dawned on me it was a free download in the first place. So I went into my manager and iCloud and Deleted the old one. Then redox loaded it again. Now it has been working fine. No problems as of yet!! So my advice to the people who have been having problem like I have encountered . Just Deleted, then the first redox load again and you should be o.k. Sometimes even the new software is at fault and IK should be more resourceful to ensure that these problems get fixed and never show up again . If IK wants to keep their Clientel. But for everyone who has had that very same problem. Try Deleting, and redownloading and see if that helps you!!

just WOW! :). the sound is fat and great for an free apps ! with irig, this is very high! a must!

Beware of iOS 15 Issues. I’ve enjoyed using the app so far since I bought an iRig 2 HD, but since updating to iPadOS 15 yesterday the app just does not open. At all. I’ve tried reinstalling but no luck. Really hoping this is resolved soon.

Waste of Money. So disappointed in IK Multimedia technology. IRig and associated software far too expensive for the poor quality. Save your money for a decent portable A/D converter.

Need to pay for iPad and for iPhone separately. The software is good but you will have to pay when you download the iPad and iPhone apps separately. This is the first app out of about 100 that I have purchased where I need to pay to use on an iPad and on an iPhone. I could not find where this is stated in their product information section.

$$$ put your money elsewhere.... Prepare to put your wallet to the test...there is nothing free here....if i had known i would never have bought the irig pro. At the price for a full irig go buy the real thing. And once you registered the damn thing, you cant send it back.... And i never could figure out why there is no sound coming out my macbook pro with AmpliTube while the GK free version sounds wonderful? I am really disappointed. For a 200$ interface i would have thought that the version of amplitube would have enough amps, effects and studio equipments to use, wich is not the case. Plus, i sent an email to there customer service department....never got an answer... still waiting... I will stop here....

Great App!. I use this live every week when I lead worship at my church. It sounds so clear and awesome through the PA sound system. If u want to run it through an amp our sound system you have to get an 1/8 MONO adapter. If its stereo you will get nasty feedback and no sound. I use that adapter into a direct box then into our mixer. Great app!!!👍👍👍

Must Have Portable Rig for Guitar Players. Realistic amp models. Requires in app purchases for most amps and effects. I know in app purchses annoy people, but the cost of the real gear would be much more. Get IRIG Hd2 guitar interface ($99) and get the IOS AND desktop versions free (thats over 150 dollars in software).

Cashes. Crash crash crash ... Runs for a bit then....crash crash crash...oh an also it crashes only when you try to use it...but the icon sits nicely on the desk top...

Avoid avoid avoid. 90 minutes fighting with this product to download and register this kludgy mess of software and hardware on two different platforms, we understood why we got this regifted mess from our Luddite friend. The download was way too long. It immediately tried to approve a $99 purchase upon install. It would not recognize the the dongle after registering and re-registering the product.

Needs audio copy paste. I like this app and I have (and occasionally use) my irig with it, but I would be willing to buy more effects if I could run copied audio through these effects and paste effected/processed audio into other apps. Currently this app is only useful when I'm wired up in a studio, not so great when I'm out brainstorming away from my computer, guitar ect. Needs functions for users like me who don't always want to be wired in.

Huge pay walls. After spending $200 USD for the IRIG PRO DUO I/0 I still have to pay for software even though I registered my product I never got the “FULL” version of the app $30 more dollars bucks. If the “Full” version of the app is just the free version without an interface than this is bad marketing I already have the AXE I/O $300 got max with it I already paid for AMPLITUBE 5 $149 how much more do you want I just got the BASS add on $9 and its still wont let me change anything else without buying a pack are you serious. Returning the product thanks for the “jam points” Box claims over $100 worth in software…..got all the free stuff I can already get thanks! Way to screw us over….

Great app, stupid strategy. This app should be universal. Like so many other people said, you buy gear for the ipad and then you have to buy it again for the iphone. Other than that, pretty great app. Lots of fun and performs well live, depending on your needs, of course. Make it universal with the 4-track recorder for the iPad too. That should change it to 5 stars.

Garbage. If your anything more than a beginner on guitar don't bother with the crap, much less the paid version. I have both the paid versions of this and ampkit on my iPhone and unlike ampkit this piece of crap doesn't transfer purchases to my iPad. Not to mention you have to spend a ton more on sub-pare tones. I guess if you have no real interest in your playing and have money to waste, knock yourself out.

"Crap" litube. The free version interface between the ipad music library and import function to play along with does not work. It locks you out and will not allow the user to play along. The sound quality is terrible through the iRig using quality earphones and cables. This App has inspired me to look at the competitors offerings. Stay away from this stinker.

97/telecaster. I'm very happy with the rich full enhancement to all the presets and effects that I have on my amplitube and fender Hendrixamplitube apps it's a great technicolor world that four track and magic Axis bold as love don't seem completely angelic as of late 20yrs down just twice as long to go to be a bad version of Hendrix I got that to hope for now

Underperforms for acoustic guitars. This is a cool app but if you play acoustic guitar, it will sound like an electric guitar using amplitude. This was very disappointing to me. Lots of great amps and effects to choose from but after about 2 hours of trying to find the right settings to make my Martin Aura sound great, it just never got there. Hope the developers include more support and features for acoustic guitars in the future!!!

Really?. A trial version where you have to purchase the effects pedals and different amps? What's the point? If you want to hear what the Marshall head sounds like completely dry with no effects, which is actually pretty good, this free version is what you need. If you want to hear ANYTHING else this free version won't help you at all.

No thank U. Not willing to down load a bunch of apps. When the free app really slows down my iPad it's not stable sound cuts in and out. I'm pretty good at finding my way around with in apps but this takes a little time. Not user friendly.. I only give it a 2star because I can return it to guitar center. I open the box down loaded the app plugged it in 3hrs later I packed it up 4 return

Great Sound. I use this with Audiobus and Garage Band, and the sound is amazing. It does have a few issues with the recording sessions timing-out, but that may have more to do with the syncing of three different programs. Incidentally, you can record using Amplitude, then paste the recording into Garage Band with no problems. Overall, the sound from this thing is great!

Pretty fun. So far I would have to say this app has been fun. We played with it for a while after getting the irig from Santa and last night ended up adding a couple extra pedals. The mixing platform is super easy and that is a great plus for my boys! I have not ran into any issues and have had great fun with it. I would totally recommend it......

Last update fixed my issues. Latest version works great. Metronome can control drum tempo and it no longer crashes during recording. I would love it more if you could try out pedals and amps before purchasing them.

Love it. But I can't seem to figure out how to use more than 4 pedals at once, or maybe that's just not an option. If it's not, I wish it was. Would love if the noise gate was built-in, since you pretty much HAVE to use it, that way I could have an extra pedal up there that did more than just make the sound come through without noise.

Okay, improvements have happened. But..... Once again, ANOTHER in app purchase. Thank you for Audiobus. The studio is a good idea, but I keep getting pops with my Apogee Jam when recording. Please fix this. And please don't say that it is best optimized with iRig because if that is the case, I will drop my rating to no stars and delete the app for good. The add ons brought my rating to 4. Fix the pops. No excuses.

Poor sound, bad investment. After trying a number of amp modelers for iOS I cannot recommend buying Amplitube 4. I tried it with a Strat and an SG and the tones were thin, brittle, and fake sounding when compared to my current favorite BIAS amps. I didn't think the IK tones were that much better than GarageBand. After buying Amplitube the customer is immediately presented with the fact that nothing works and further purchases are needed. Bordering on fraud in my personal opinion.

high hopes. I had high hopes when I downloaded the free Amplitube in September of 2010. I bought several extra amp models, and January of 2011, purchased the 8 track recorder. After consulting with Daniel, who has been polite and prompt in his replies, I have to say, it's not capable of recording at a professional level. Very disappointed. Maybe it's because it's the free iPad Amplitube, but, I paid for the recorder. It burps, gaps, has static surges...very frustrating. I just tried to email some noodling snippets, and the email only delivered the text. When I clicked on the highlighted 'My Amplitube Mix', it took me to Apps. I've followed every bit of advice given by Daniel, and deleted it and reinstalled it several times. It gives me no pleasure to write a negative review. I would much rather be enjoying the app and singing it's praises. Sorry, Amplitube. Don Sweat

Newbie review. Despite the reviewer who remarks "why are newbies allowed to (review), The facts are the facts. This app crashes often when I simply selected basic functions. What else can I say? That's the truth. New IPad. Experienced user. Sorry for the bad review, but that's what I experienced using this app. It look great and I have lots of hardware and software I use for producing music and wanted this app to add to my studio functionality, but if it's going to be unstable, it won't be an asset. Perhaps I will try it later.

Songs doesn't work properly. Your app is awesome but I always have a problem when I want to use a high distored amp with a song as backing track because it distores the song too I just want my guitar distored not my backing track

iPad mini/iOS 6 problems. I've been using amplitude/iRig with my 1st gen iPad and it worked pretty good. A bit noisy, but all in all worked decent right into sound system for basic chorus/delay song leading. But on my iPad mini it just stopped working. App runs but can't get any sound from it at all. Not sure if its iOS 6 related or different hardware in earphone of the mini, but I can plug into my iPad 1 works fine and then switch over to the mini and its a no go. 2 stars Cuz at least it still works on my old iPad.

Stupid idea. Downloaded the free version and liked it. Bought the 8 track recording in app purchase and liked it as well. So I bought the full app and guess what!? You can't transfer purchases towards the full version!! Who ever thought of that clearly wants the company to look bad. Thinking of returning the iRig cable I got and the rest of the IK products I bought. Terrible marketing strategy on your guys part.

CRASH / FAIL. Purchased every piece of add-ons, bundles... Only to find out Amplitude crashes with only two tracks recorded (less than 2 minutes long). Better on my MacBook Pro but for the iPad, I am more than disappointed... Sound quality of stomp boxes and rack effects nowhere near MacBook level...but I can deal with that...but to have this app crash constantly is crazy.

Just keeps getting worse. So this thing has so many issues going on with it that it's going to be even hard to list them all. They seem to be more concerned now with adding content for purchase and they do with making the app stable and functioning properly. Projects crash, the recorder scratchy, Irig2 is not a good quality piece at all. gain knob is scratchy you from day one and the cord is too short. I'm done with this crappy app that seems to be in a downward spiral

Annoying In app ad pop ups. I paid $300 for hardware that only works with this software. For the most part, the software works well. HOWEVER, the in app pop up ads come on EVERY SINGLE TIME i open the app. I can’t do anything until i close out of the pop up. Clicking on the pop up only makes it disappear for a second and then reappear. Its only when i click the teeny tiny s button that it goes away until the next time i open up the app. Ive talked with support team and there is no solution. This is how its supposed to work. Ridiculous. Never ever stops.....

Off to a great start. I'm really digging the tones I can squeeze out of this new dual mic and operating system. My gripe is with the crackling sounds I'm getting, I try it on low instead of very low and still experience them with my iPad mini 2. Also my BlueBoard requires me to tap twice each time in/out for looping. I should only have to tap once in and once out. I'm sure this will be updated.

Don't purchase add on's !. This is the best app of its kind hands down, but if you purchase add on's and later purchase the full version you can not transfer your add on's to the full version. Crazy right. They do not tell you this anywhere. This is a 6 star app with 0 star customer support. They blame it all on apple, which I'm sure have something to do with it, but I'm sure something can be done about it.

Everything sounds the same. I bought this a few months ago, downloaded some stuff and it all worked great until it decided not to. None of the pedal work now, I get one sound, clean. That's it. No distortions, nothing. Bummer...cos I liked it. I'm done.

Rate. I have this app. I also have a Fender app that doesn't work at all. The help people cannot seem to help either. This amplitude app is pretty good, but, I keep getting a distortion sound coming through my amp. It seems to produce a kuh sound on initial pluck of a string once in awhile. Not good enough for a gig or recording. I also have stompbox. That rocks. It is going to take me months to figure all of that cool stuff out. The effects are great, but, seem to sound a bit distant.

Worthless. I fiddle with this “thing” for about an hour pretty much crap. I got 5 free effects The delay and phaser worked kinda sorta sometimes. Even the amp just blew out a lot of feedback and squeal even scared my cats. Anything extra with this crap app isn’t free. I can’t even get the knobs to turn on anything without the app floating all over the screen. Anything possibly useful is extra. 3.95 for one effect. $200 for the package. After already wasting 90$ on this I don’t think so. Live and learn then return for refund.

Great practice tool. This is a great way to do some practice or jamming without an amp. Sound quality is very good. I am quite disappointed that I paid $40 for their iRig guitar connect device and only this free, scaled down version of the app is "included". I would expect that a hardware purchase would get you a full version. Silly me.

Pricey, inflexible. Individual in-app purchases are cheaper than competitors. However, you must buy each in-app purchase once per iOS device, they cannot be shared, transferred, nor restored if you reload your iOS device. So in effect, if you have an iPad, an iPhone, and a couple of iTouches, you end up buying each app and each upgrade a half dozen times. They sound good, but this type of "licensing" is out of line for this market. Also difficult to tell which app packages come with which effects. Please fix the licensing, and combine into a single, more manageable, universal app.

Sad face. I think for the most part the app works great. For some reason tho, I've been getting really bad feedback to the point where I cannot play. I don't know how to fix it. Sometimes it works and sometimes it messes up again

Should be better. I started out loving this app but after getting in to it after laying down multiple track it starts to stutter real bad and just shuts off so I tried completely Emptying my iPad thinking it was my device well after that it did the same things . This app is really close to being so helpful while on tour but to good to be true I really hope they figure it out.

Hmm. I thought this app looked like so much fun so I downloaded. Unfortunately, I had to uninstall it because it kept "crashing" I guess you could say. Anytime I press the question mark at the top left part of the screen, the app closes itself... It happened over and over again! So as of right now, I recommend to either wait on downloading it or to download it but wait to use it until the update comes out (I guess, idk lol). Hope this helps! (:

Horrible tones, but great support. I have to say that I received excellent support when I had a registration problem with my iRig Pro. But the tones in this demo version of the software are very poor and brittle sounding. Also there isn't much to demo. Two amps, a delay and a noise gate. So it's impossible to tell what the paid stuff is like. But based on this demo, I'd say the other stuff probably isn't worth it either.

Addiction. The more I use this app, the more I want to use it. The sound is terrific and the app is very reliable. There may be other guitar apps out there, but I can't believe they could top this one.

iPad 2 is not strong enough. The app is pretty good and irig works great but be careful buying in app effects a lot of the effects only work on the first fx channel so you can't really make a effect chain. I email the support team and they told me they know about this and that iPad 2 is not strong enough to run more then 1 of some of the effects they sell.

Good. Overall good product what would make it better was if you could play the sound out of the devices speakers. I bought it thinking that like a chargeable amp. And have had some problems with the record staying on and not using my effects update would be amazing thanks :)

Needs an update. The app works well but does not have the features that other apps offer. There is no tone net and no way to share presets between the desktop app, so you are stuck with the presets that it came with and the ones you create. The app also lacks dual channel / two amp feature that other apps have. Overall it works but not My go to as it lacks so man features.

It's fine.. Is fine. It does what you need. A bummer I wasted my free upgrade to the "essentials bundle" when I got my iRig 2 HD. It gave me more tones, but you still have to drop another $20 to get all 8 tracks to record on. I mean, 2 tracks? This isn't the 50s. But there are good ipad multitrack apps. Get a dedicated ipad DAW and use that. Then you have the best of both worlds.

Won’t load even a little bit in AUM. Purchased several expander packs but won’t load standalone or in AUM. I was supposed to get upgraded version through CS but can’t load it. no updates in 10 months it would seem IK multimedia putting all their R&D into hardware, desktop and Mixbox. Found it Still works in Audiobus 3

Please update, but don't wreck it like the v2.0 for iPhone. I love Amplitube for iPhone and iPad. I'm hoping you'll add for iPad the functionality you did for v2.0 for iPhone...but without ruining it. Being able to record is awesome. However, as everyone has pointed out, you made Amplitube for iPhone completely unusable.

Great app, any chance of line6 amp integration?. I have been using amplitude ever since I got my first iPad and love it. Just bought a line6 amplifi 150, and was curious as to whether you guys could work together to make amplitude work with line 6 equipment. It seems like you would both gain from collaboration. Thanks!

Taunting me with a deal I can’t get. The app is fine. Audio quality is mediocre. UI is quirky but you’ll figure it out. What’s infuriating is that every time I launch the app it says “save now on the all-in package with 80% off” but it doesn’t let me purchase it at the sale price. I don’t need much from the package but reverb pedal and looper would be nice to have. Stop taunting us!

Not worth the headache. I loved it before I spent the money to purchase the “All-in-Bundle”. I set up my amp head, cabinet, and effects. But every time I close the app and then reopen later, it brings me back to square one and I have to reset. I create presets and they are gone too. I tried reinstalling and now some of the pedals are gone. When it works its great, but having to restore my purchases and reset each time its opened is a bit of a pain. I want a refund.

Crashing on iPad mini 6 gen. Crashing from launch…something is not loading synchronously. Maybe it is a memory spike, but doubt it. Nothing is plugged in when I launch either. Hope they fix this issue or are even aware of it.

Good software bad marketing concept. I think this is great practice gear but I am put off by the fact that I have to repurchase everything if I want to use it on another iOS device. I would devote more of my cash to their coffers if they would allow the use of what you buy on all devices you own. As it stands, I am very reluctant to send more money their way. If they changed the policy, I would add something weekly.
