Featured in Gizmodo's "The Best Note Taking Apps":

"AudioNote has one trick, and it's a doozy. Aside from functioning as a basic note-taking app, AudioNote can make sound recordings at the same time, and keep them synchronized, note by note, with the text. You can, in effect, relive a lecture or a meeting through sound and notes."

Wish it could convert Audio to text. I was hoping this app could convert audio to text.

Needs a few things to be perfect. I love this app but I can’t zoom in and the highlighter only works when you type not when using the apple pen. Those are the only problems I have with this app. Please fix that.

Great App. I am currently attending a conference and have to sit through several one hour educational sessions. This app has been a huge help. I usually write pages of notes with no context to what was going on while I was writing them. With Audio note the session is recorded and my notes are typed and time stamped. Now when I read the notes I can playback the session and hear exactly what was being said when I was typing the notes. I can even click on a word and hear exactly what was being said at the moment I typed it. I'm going to set my Secretary up with this app for her meeting minutes. I think it will save her a lot of time and trouble. I was looking for an app to turn the spoken words into text. but this is way better. I'm glad I found this app.

Secret Weapon, but Please Allow Pictures/Attachments. Love this app! I've tried many other apps like it- this is the best (all things considered). I use it for all critical note taking in business meetings- both in person and phone (via speaker using landline- adding a call recording feature would be mind blowing). This app is like being able to go back in time and/or have perfect memory. Plus, I can relax when talking to clients, have way more eye contact (versus them staring at the top of my head as I write), and I can generally concentrate on the conversation. Most importantly- the program is stable and reliable. If you're not supremely confident that your recording will be there- forget being able to relax. I was burned with other apps losing a recording say when a call comes in- (still hurts to think about it)- AudioNote just picks up recording seamlessly where the call ends. Instant syncing via iCloud is awesome and flawless- after a recording it's instantly available for download everywhere (iPhone/pad) and you can email it or share via wifi. Key Improvement Areas: 1. Add ability to add pictures and handwriting 2. Make the audio usable or exportable in normal audio format/s 3. Instantly dictate all my meeting dialogue with near-perfect accuracy ;) seriously, adding some kind of OCR for Audio would be an amazing add-on.

Great idea, needs refinement. I think AudioNote is a great idea. However, in my experience, it still needs some work. In my experience, the main problem is that the device does not register well with iPad screen touches. Thus, attempts to input commands commonly don't work until you try several times. For me, this seems to hold true whether I use a stylus or my finger. I am using this on an iPad mini. For that device some of the buttons are too small for the end of my fingers. Thus, again, input often fails. The idea to have audio notes linked to specific elements on a note page is excellent. However, in my experience it is often difficult to get this to work correctly. In total, I really like the idea of AudioNote. However I find it frustrating to use at this time. Consequently, I can only give it three stars at this time.

Great app - and very responsive support too. I got this app for my daughter who is visually impaired - to help her take notes in class. I ended up using it myself for client meetings and briefings. It is one of the few apps I keep coming back to. For its use it is indispensible. I would love to see variable font-size, and time-delay. Variable size font would be useful for my daughter. Time-delay would be useful to better sync audio and sound; it takes a few seconds before you are able to jot down what someone is saying. If you later go back and tap on the subject, you will miss the few seconds of audio that went by before you realized what was being said and wrote it down for future reference.

Avid User. I use this app every single day, could not do without it.

Great app. This app I would does exactly what I wanted to do, audios is great, Does a great job with my iPad.

Deleting files. I give this a 4+ star rating! I am studying for comprehensive exams in a phd program and one of my own students introduced me to this app. She used it in classes this summer. I have recorded my notes and listen to them while reading through them again and again. The only issue is see is when I delete a file the app gets a bit hung up and I can't do anything. Closing it doesn't help. It just has to process what ever it is doing I guess. One suggestion would be to allow me to back up a recording to a certain point and start to re-record; although to be honest I may can already do that I just haven't figured it out yet! Love this app! So many ways to use. I haven't even checked out the wi-fi & sharing capabilities etc yet. Haven't had time!

Thanks J sergeant Reynolds college here I come. With this audionote to take notes with the professor talking I won’t get left behind again.

Unable to access my notes or recordings. This app will not allow me to look at past notes or even create new ones. When I hit the pencil icon it will shut the app down. When I try to access past notes I tap on screen and nothing opens it stays on the same screen

Missing text. At first it was dope i use it for taking notes at church but then after writing notes i go back to them and they are missing it is a blank paper but if you touch the paper it shows the word very unsatisfactory as my notes are priceless

Excellent. Would prefer to see a lighter and more transparent shade at the top of the iPad screen so that the date, time, etc, is readable . Keep up the good work. Chuck R

Fantastic App.... This app is exactly what I needed for scripting conferences, observations, and evaluations. The audio recording option as notes are being taken makes sure you do not miss anything. The audio is of excellent quality, even if someone is across the room speaking. The functionality of the text options along with the easily imported pictures and other graphics make it even better. It is also beyond user friendly!! I am no tech guru, but I use the options with ease!! The only other thing that could make it even more perfect would be the option to record video as notes are being taken. Oh, well...I love it as is!!!

App stopped saving records & notes. Otherwise, i used to find it super useful. Lost a couple of important lectures along with all their notes :| Issue introduced a few weeks ago.

Files Overlap. I have this app on my older iPad mini (version 9.3.5) and it is great. However, on my newer iPad mini 4 the list of lectures overlap each other in enormous font and I can’t find and tap on the one I want to listen to. So I uninstalled it which meant losing everything. I then reinstalled it again, but after recording a few new discourses it still is doing the same thing. Why does it work perfectly on one device but is such a disappointment on the newer one? Can it be fixed?

Wow. I love this app. I've used it to record one-on-one conversations as well as presentations at conferences. It adequately picks up and separates the presenter's voice even against lots of background noise. I've also recorded when there were several individual conversations going on after a conference, and I've able to then listen and learn from all of those conversations later. The feature that syncs notes to a particular moment in the tape is phenomenal. Details that seemed insignificant originally and/or that may have been said so quickly that I therefore didn't record, are easily locatable and retrievable as their significance becomes more obvious with time and study. Since you can skip forward very easily, I don't see that a fast forward button would help. . . But a slow-play control, that would allow easier transcription, would make this app nirvana.

I love this app. This is one of the first apps I got when I got my first iPad. I totally love it and still use it to this day. I like how it integrates with the Mac OS version as well.

Mistakenly thought this converted voice to notes with the original voice kept with. Mistakenly thought this converted voice to notes with the original voice kept with it. That’s not the case. For what it does do, I think it’s over priced and I wish I could take my purchase back. Wasted money.

Solid Performance and a Great Tool. I have used this app for over a year now. It has saved me many times as I record the conversation while taking notes. I can easily go back to any point in my notes and hear what I missed while typing. There are action items that I didn't really understand but did not have to ask again since I knew that I had it recorded. It makes my job much easier Only thing I wish it had with a way to easily put bullets or numbering to my notes. Many times I'm making an action item list and it would be nice to have the numbering or bulleting feature. Works correctly every time and is very easy to save to my desktop computer or email. A great asset to my toolbox.

Camera bug?. So far I like this app, but I was only able to take one photo. Now when I try to insert a photo by using the camera option I get a white screen that I can’t get out of unless I close the app.

Gets the job done. This app was pretty impressive when I first purchased it and the only flaws I have with it were petty ones. For instance when I'm typing notes in class on my iPad and I reach the bottom of the page the app won't automatically slide the page down so my iPad keyboard doesn't cover up what I'm typing. Another small issue I had with this app was not having the ability to create a text box right near the picture I just drew, I would have to manually start on the very far left side of the page and space bar my way back to my picture. It's quite tedious and I can see myself just using a notebook to draw out most diagrams. This problem also keeps me from using this app to create quick charts. As a science major, many notes include side pictures, diagrams and charts so this small issues may become more pressing later on. In all other regards this app performs wonderfully, and allows you to store a bunch of orderly notes in one area. 4/5

Good update. Thanks for adding note sharing - it really wasn't that useful without it. I love the way the audio and writing and drawings track to each other. Now if there was some sort of player on the pc/mac that would be great. At some point You have to offload the notes from the iPad and you lose that capability to track. Another idea which would be helpful but not quite as useful is if you generated a movie file that we could play back that highlights the text and graphics as it plays the audio. Using video scrubbing I could at least get to the part of the notes where something is highlighted and play from there. Almost as good. Several people that i have shown the app to have also asked about Exchange integration. It's to as big a deal for me personally but it seems to be a popular feature request.

So many bugs. Bug-filled and no update for over a year. Awful.

Exceptionally clear. This app is amazing, the audio is so very crisp and clear.

AudioNote. This is a excellent app with great audio. I use it to take minutes and am able to go to each section of the audio when writing my final minute report. This is for me a five star program and I highly recommend it.

AWESOME, SIMPLE, EXTREMELY EFFECTIVE NOTE-TAKING!!!. This is the BEST note-taking app in the App Store. I like this app very much. It can make a recording while you're typing or drawing. And the best part is that the recording is synchronized to the typing and drawing that you do. This a very useful feature. Thus, as you plaback the recording, it is able to highlight the text that you typed or drew during any time in the recording. Also, you can simply click on a drawing or text and the recording instantly goes to that point in the recording when you made the drawing or types the text. The synchronized recording/note taking feature is GREAT for students taking notes in class as well as business people in meetings. However, the vendor should include the following features to make the app more wonderful and useful: 1. Ability to store your notes on iCloud or Dropbox. 2. When drawing, allow you to use different pen size widths and colors. If these features can be added to this app would minimize the need for other note-taking apps and be even greater than it already is.

Indispensable for meetings and trainings. I've always found it difficult to give both note taking and meeting participation enough attention for both to be top notch. With Audionote this is no longer a problem. I write cursory notes highlighting important parts, then am able to go back, click on the note, and hear the corresponding audio to make more detailed notes. I've been using Audinote for a while, but held off on rating it until they added a really critical feature for me, background recording. Now that they have added background recording I feel comfortable giving this a 5-star review. Cons: as with any app that uses the internal microphone, if you touch/type on the iPad the noise comes through loudly in the recording. I am using two solutions for that. I small meetings I set my iPad in front of me on the smart cover stand and use a bluetooth keyboard to type. In larger halls where the presenter is too far away for the internal mic, I use the iPad camera adapter to hook up a USB audio input connected to a telescoping microphone.

Standard Format makes it handy. I originally got the lite versions for both Mac and iPad, and decided to upgrade to the full versions after some use. I like the fact that they write to a standard package file, which if opened has a caf audio file and a standard note. In fact, if you pull the file from the iPad version to the desktop via iTunes, it comes over as a rtfd file. This allows its use either with the desktop version or in other programs. Plus there is a PDF version of the note automatically included in each package file. In use, the program works well enough. It will highlight the note section at the proper time that is is playing back, and you can jump to anywhere in the audio by simply clicking on the note itself. While it is not perfect (need to expose the rtfd on the wireless file transfer), this for me has worked better than the alternatives on the App Store.

Most critically useful app. I have used this app to record the shenanigans of my house closing, negotiations with psycho boarders, and others who's memory doesn't jibe with reality. I am disabled and bedridden and this app has given me more peace of mind in dangerous situations than the local Sheriff's Dept.. This app gave me a remotely backed up recording and commentary from the times we were being terrorized by a really bad choice of boarder -- a person that turned out to have rage problems and threatened to obtain a gun from his drug-dealing friend and shoot my wife and my stepson. Despite the statutes that are supposed to protect the elderly and disabled from just such a problem, the Sheriff's dept. refused to help on the grounds that this guy didn't have the pistol in his hand at the time he made his threats. This app allowed me to document all of this and get minimal help but help nonetheless from the Dept. of Children and Families. The only things that I would like to see added are electronic signatures and encryption, and syncing with cloud storage periodically as recording continues. Thank you, thank you, thank you for this app!

Good app but problems with PDF export. I like this app. But there’s too many bugs. When you try to convert to a PDF file the text doesn’t copy over on some of the pages although the drawing do but without the written text it’s not helpful

Interrupts loose recordings!!!!. Good app except for one glaring problem.... dealbreaker - when you switch apps that use your microphone, which every mobile user does, like a phone call or camera video, even if you’re not taking a video, but camera app when changing photo type (pano, square, video, still) checks for mic availability, it STOPS AUDIONOTE RECORDING AND DOESNT AUTOMATICALLY RESUME! I lost two hours of an important meeting and when I came back to audionote it reset the file from 0:00, didnt even save to the point of interruption Otherwise a good app but you MUST FIX THIS or I wont ever use it again and risk losing recordings. Interruption happen in mobile apps. Just resume recording automatically!

Excellent. One of the best Apps, for Notes !!!

Excellent app for students. This week I began a college intro accounting class and found this app in preparation for the class. I have to say that this app is an excellent tool. I never opened the app after download until sitting down to the first lecture and was pleasantly surprised at the ease with which I was able to navigate the app. It afforded me the ability to record the lecture audio, so I could pay attention without scrambling to jot something down so as not to forget it and chance missing something else. Later, I was able to go back to the lecture, play it back, write my notes (with time flags) I just paused when I needed to type at length. If I went back later and added something, all I have to do for correct time stamp is back audio to that point and begin typing. In addition I was able to highlight important points. It offers an email option for the file though I haven't tried it yet. I have an ancient iPad 2 (lol) and have had no problems at all. Operation thus far has been excellent. I will be recommending this app to my classmates next week. Great work!

Basic not useful. You need to be able to record multiple pieces of audio and place then next to text….. or type text and be able to record audio that goes with the text and play it back when you press the text selected… having one long recording does not help when you’re trying to use the app for learning a different language and you need to press the words and hear how something is pronounced.

Now you can pay attention to meetings .... AudioNote is a great simultaneous note taking and recording app that not only syncs words but also provides the time key within the audio recording allowing the user to go directly to that point in the audio record. I have been using the application for months and find it to be extremely useful in being able to listen to meeting conservations instead of missing conversations as you hurriedly try to scribble something down. Keywords, issues can simply be typed in in short format and you can go back to the audio later for the details. That said, there is one glaring problem with the application. AudioNotes are extremely difficult to share. Your other meeting members either must have iPads or the AudioNote version for the Mac. Given that businesses still heavily use PCs (yes, I know, some people and business are slow to pick up on the better tools in life) it is difficult to share your notes with the other PC person. For now, unless a method of sharing notes is developed that is universal, I can not rate the app beyond 4 stars. It would be best to find a method to export these notes easily rather than having to do it via iTunes or WiFi connections.

Great App. I love this app,I have tried many use this app regularly, user friendly, has it all, Thank you, Use regularly, a must!!!!!

Good concept. Needs more user options. Been using to take class notes. The only note taker that can place your audio notes right where u are writing. Some suggestions. 1. Need paper line separation options..The lined paper on my iPad Pro 10.5 is way too small to write in. 2. Pen width options. The ink on my iPad when writing is way to think n wide. This should be an option for users. 3. Pressure sensitivity. The new iPad and pencil have pressure sensitivity. It should be incorporated in here.

Great App but needs a couple of improvements. I love this app but I find myself constantly hitting the folder button (upper left button) by accident when trying to review my notes. This is very annoying because I start back from the beginning instead of where I left off when I go back into my notes. I wish the buttons weren't so close and so small because its very inconvenient, not to mention a waste of time of having to look for where I left off. Maybe they can make a drop down box to prevent this from reoccurring? Another thing is that I wish I could have the option to edit my notes and continue my recording where I left off after the lecture has been recorded as opposed to continue the recording from the end. I love the clarity of the audio and the new photo feature. Would love it more if I could zoom in and out of the photos without having to manipulate the settings. Overall I'm happy with the App but wish for the developers to improve on these two items.

Good and NOT missing some features. I was wrong - it is quite easy to add or edit text after you have stopped recording, just tap the text (T) button in the tool bar. Because of this and the quick response from the developer I have changed my rating to five stars. Can't wait to use my iPad and AudioNote at my next meeting. I have been using the OS X version on my old MacBook Pro. There I could see the recording level, so I would know if I was going to be able to hear a soft speaker when I played back the meeting. I also don't understand why I can't continue writing with the recording is paused. Other then these two problems, Audio Notes seems to be working great on my new 10.5 iPad Pro and I plan to use it at my next meeting to take notes.

My Favorite Notes App!. I have a few of the highly rated notes apps, but this one is the most useful. I love how it marks the audio recordings on every note so you can go back and review a specific section of your notes without having to listen to the whole thing over again. Very easy and intuitive. There are three things that would make this app the perfect all-time winner - picture taking capability, multiple color options for drawing, and the ability to email a note file instead of having to connect to another computer to do it. Amazing app, better than the others, but I do miss those features from the other apps I have used.

very very functional.... I use this app nearly every day at work. It has become something I depend on; that I can't do without. And that's not hyperbole. I can record meetings, take notes, go back and listen to the notes, fill in the blanks where I missed things...It's almost perfect. And I say almost, cause the graphics, while functional, are not "hip and cool" and are not on the level most apps I like are. That matters, but only slightly... the functionality of this app makes up in spades for how it looks. AND it really doesn't look bad, just not up to a certain standard. I'd like to see flatter, hipper graphics, some other fonts, maybe a littler smoother interface... That said, I didn't see any improvement in this latest update (which prompted my review). I didn't see any updated graphics. So keep on improving, just don't change the functionality!

Could use some help. I have been using audionote for about three months now. I generally like working with it. It has not crashed on me at all. I do have two problems with the app, however. The first problem, as others have mentioned, is that there is no way for the app to run in the background (i.e. continue recording) if you need to check for an email or find some other needed information that requires you to temporarily exit the app. Also, I am not able to upload (via the network since my audio files are too big to email) a session where the audio has been stopped and then started (either because the information being discussed is confidential or because a certain part isn't worth recording). This is probably the most troublesome point for me. I am able to listen to it on the iPad, but no one else can get the audio. Fix those two flaws and I will give the app five stars.

I love it!. I record songs all the time.

Great idea, can't wait for updates.. I'm only putting a 4 just to leave some room for improvement. This app is amazing does a great job and it makes the ipad worth buying. the drawing application while i take notes is going to be amazing when I'm in orgo. being able to sinc the files to a mac (bc i'll run out of room and for certain classes i'll need my notes for a few years) is something that is key. I agree that different colors would be nice for drawing not a huge amount just a few like maybe just 4? black, red, green, orangish yellow. and yea zooming would be great, its hard to tell the difference between a double bond and a line that you had to redraw bc it was too far out. can you print? would it even be possible to have an erase function? I'm not sure considering that its being sinced to a recording at the same time. if all this were possible you could probably charge at least 40bucks for the app as a bundle with the computer .

This app Rocks!!!! Please read..... I wish I had an iPad and THIS app in college! (all i got was some lame stone tablets and a chisel).... As the app is recording, you can type notes that record the timestamp of when the note was made during the recording. Then, during playback, tap one of those notes and the playback will jump to that part of the recording! Imagine being in class, your recording the instructor, all you have to do is type something like "prof is starting example 2" in order to bookmark that part of the recording. When you want to review the recording for example 2, just click on the text you wrote and the recording will jump to the point in the recording when the text was entered.

Best audio notetaking app. This app is great it has the ability to pick up a conversation in a big conference room. I use it all the time for staff meetings and I used it this morning while in a conference call with another party via speakerphone. The cloud support is excellent if you don't have or don't want to use iCloud you can use dropbox. I have the app on both my iPhone and my iPad so sharing AudioNote's between the devices is a big plus. The only thing I would like to see change is when you AirPrint from the phone the note prints in a small strip in the center of the page, if you print the same AudioNote from the iPad it uses more of the entire page. The AudioNote should look the same when printed regardless of where it's printed from and should be formatted like it is when you print from the iPad

Works Great For Me!!!!!. I use this with my iPad to take notes at our meetings. I've used it for a Circuit Assembly and for a District Convention now. I type in the program ahead of time so I don't have to type in each talk theme at the convention. Then I simply record and add notes right along with the speaker. The great thing is that if I don't happen to get all the points, I don't have to worry. I can edit and add to my notes as I listen to the talk. I can even leave it running while I go to the rest room and that evening listen To what i may have missed. I really benefit from how you can "tab" different sections so you can listen to any particular part you want. It has helped me a lot with the quality of my notes. Thanks for a great tool.

needs button that allows listening at 1.5x to 2x the speed.. I absolutely love what this application allows me to do. It time stamps exactly when I take notes and allows me to go directly to the corresponding audio to the text typed. It imports powerpoint documents that go along with a lecture and allows you to annotate it while you're listening to the lecture and gives you various tools to take notes on the powerpoint document to make mark-ups or highlight certain parts of documents or if there a certain part in a lecture you're recording where you lose the speaker, simply type an asterisk or question mark at that point and relisten to that section later. Wonderful productivity app. Definitely makes reviewing notes I took and audio in a lecture so much more efficient. However, it could use a relistening function button that allow us to listen to the lecture/audio in 1.5x and/or 2x the speed. That would make reviewing lectures/audio even more efficient.

Excellent App!. This app is phenomenal! Simple, effective and very practical. Using it on the iPad it absolutley does have both landscape and portriat keyboards so dont worry there. Not sure what the other reviewers are talking about. It highlights text as you playing back your audio notes. You can quickly change modes from text to drawing and the lines are sharp and detailed. Has undo buttons so you can erase drawing and correct them if need be. Also has pause feature just in case theres a break and you can come back and continue your notes right where you left off. You can easily share notes email and with new mac review feature it cant be beat. Considering a light scribe pen costs a small fortune and you have to constantly buy paper this is a GREAT price for the function you get. Get this app its a must have! Looking forward to future updates with spell check and maybe different color inks. Simple quick drop in shapes like boxes, circles arrows ect. Would be nice also to use my own paper style such as .jpg of a drawing so i could annotate my own drawings or overhead projector files. Maybe even text hotspots where you could touch different parts of screen and have textbox pop up to annotate that area. Keep up the good work!

Best app.. I will recommend this app to anyone with an iPad. It is the best of its kind. I use it for meetings, lectures and every day to day planning. Glad I got it ,

VERY PLEASED. This app is VERY USEFUL and handy app. Have used it for months now & it's works very well. No regrets!

Great App. I have been using this app for several months now and I really like it. It is great for my own quick notes as well as for frequent use in my classroom.

The best audio recorder. This is the best audio recorder for meetings, lectures and conferences hands down. I've tried (and purchased) many and always gravitate back to this app for its unique feature of syncing text to audio. That alone is worth 5 stars.

Changes to AudioNote render it useless. Sorry to be so mean, but the new-look AudioNote has lost the one feature that was crucial to me as a journalist - being able to see the microphone recording levels. In the layout I now see on my IOS 9.0 Apple iPad, i can no longer watch the dancing level indicator at the top of the screen. So I have no idea how audible the interviews I have recorded on AudioNote are. It did just that brilliantly for me for the past few years, but now I will cast AudioNote to the recording scrap heap, ever so sadly. Let me know if you ever bring back the level indicator. Cheers, Andy Shaw Canadian journalist

Awesome but need STEALTH mode. I use this app several times a week. Would like to see the option to hide the recording bar so it is not so obvious that I am recording. I would also like to see my notes synchronize between my iPad, iPhone and Mac. Great job

Awesome. It is an awesome app. Enjoy it!

Great to use with my disability but.... Maybe somethings could be improved on to increase accessibility. Audionote could have; a double confirmation to delete notes because I have accidentally deleted items that I was trying to move to a folder, at least 3 different highlighter colours, blue paper for scotopic sensitivity syndrome and Cornell note system would also be a great addition to add extra info after printing.

Good job. Very good application

Great but..... Great app but useless if you can't create folders to organize files. And the website is pretty useless, can't contact developer.

Misleading beware. I purchased AudioNote for 17.99 plus tax = $20.15. The app kept asking me to upgrade to AudioNote 2. I did. You end up having AudioNote 2 with non-stop advertising. So now you get a pop up asking you to upgrade to AudioNote Pro 2, which turns out to be by a yearly subscription. When you pay that much for an app, you expect it to work as advertised. Simple. Contacted Apple, but says its not eligible for a refund. Disappointing.

Pretty good. Does a lot of things well. Even better: how about sorting the notes - by title, date saved, size, tags, something! Currently, each folder is a junk drawer - no system, and the more notes you write, the harder it gets to find them later.

My fav app. This app is MY FAVOURITE app for my ipad. It's because it is just perfect for my life at uni. I actually enjoy taking notes now. It highlights texts and allows you to take notes on pdf files which my profs always upload. It's great for recalling bits you missed in lect with the playback bc you don't have to listen to the entire recording since each note is marked with the time. Only problem i have is it can't send large audio files over wifi and i am having problems even just sending the texts. If they can solve this it would be even better

Very useful app. Highly rated. I so useful for taking lecture notes and finding audio relating to these! You can also revise your notes after the fact and the program will index these to the locations in your recorded audio. Also has the ability to draw and add photos!

Just a great app!. This is an amazing app. I use it to record lectures while taking notes and jotting down points. So great!

Poor. The concept is nice but I feel there is something wrong in coding especially in managing files.

Letter size not changing to any larger size after. Hey guys Letter size is not changing to any larger size after setting configuration! Its too small cant see why?

Great app for ios8. It's needs a o be optimize for iOS 9 the folder button is not working

Great for recording language learning sessions. This easy to use app is a great tool for capturing my learning sessions. I do audio recordings during tutorials and then go back and add text either with the key board or a stylus. I also insert photos and diagrams. The app automatically marks the notes with the running time of the audio so it is easy to find what I'm looking for.

Nov 18 update. The app has, on two occasions, saved the the wrong content into newly created files. It appears to have saved a copy of the previous recording under the new recording's name, and not saved the new recording at all. This is a pretty big bug because you risk losing both the notes and recording. Strangely, I can modify and listen to the new recording, even though the saved file (saved to Dropbox and even shared/exported manually) contains the wrong content. This apparent defect is the only thing holding this app back from 5 stars because I (normally) really like it.

Helpful. I love this app, it's really helpful. It helped me a lot this year especially with note taking. Instead of trying to scribble down whatever the professor has been saying I finally get to replay the lecture pause it at anytime and be able to write some things that I was missing. Definitely an app I would recommend anybody. :)

Perfect for student. I record important moments in class. I really appreciate it!

Does not work. I purchased this app and it indicated that it's downloaded but no sign of it to be on my applications. Searched for it and found an it's icon in my Mac iTunes but cannot open it or use it. The audio note lite app worked perfectely but not this full version one. Very disappointed.

Great app overall.... This is a great app overall, however it should have the ability to change the colour , size of the font as well as underline and make the font bold too. Hopefully the developer can make those changes on the following update.

Audio Note has a Killer Feature. I have tried over 20 audio recording apps. None has this killer feature. The recorded audio is synced with the typed or written notes. No need for tags or any other fancy reference system to find the phrase or spoken word you want to listen to. As someone is speaking just jot down notes as you would normally do if you were not recording. Touch any part of your notes and the recording plays back at that exact point. Go back and forth with the new controls, that can speed up or slow down the recording, to review the conversation, lecture, business meeting. 5 stars!!

It's crap. I find it to be very unproductive and not very helpful.

A True Five Star App. For people who take a lot of notes this application is worth ten times the asking price. As a journalist, I personally find it indispensable to be able to link audio to text. Why? Because It allows me to concentrate more closely on what is being said rather than my shorthand skills. When I need to reference a key point in an interview I simply mark it with a short note. The bottom line? Although perhaps not as flexible as a LiveScribe, Smart Pen, this app is just as valuable to anyone who has to accurately work from recorded audio notes. A definite Five Stars for this application!

Needs a format change to MP3. This app would be more versatile if the audio files were playable in other audio formats such as MP3, etc.

Awesome App. Records with time stamped notes. When listening to recording, hold down the key and it goes back an extra 10 seconds so you hear it as you were typing. Great Don't have time to take the notes while the speech is happening, then listen later and add your timestamped notes. Excellent. When you listen to the audio, it follows along with your notes. Jump back any time. Very nice. You can also export the audio and/or notes.

Excellent!. Works very well.

Great app. I have a pulse smart pen that allows me to take notes in meetings while it records the audio in the background. This app now allows me to ditch the pulse pen and just type or draw notes on my ipad while this app records the background audio of the meeting.

Good app but there is a bug that needs to be fixed. For the pencil, the app does not allow you to chose the narrowest pencil line size. The font colour box appears to block the user from sliding the pencil line size to its minimum level. This is a problem for people who have to take notes quickly. With the thicker pencil line, you have to write larger letters in order for your handwriting to be legible. This, in turn, slows your ability to write quickly. If you choose the ‘convert to type’ pen option, the pencil is at its narrowest, so it should be possible for the app to allow a user to choose the narrowest pencil line size for all handwriting. I hope the developer can fix this soon

A major too in my research kit. I have use this App for over 4 years and it has been a fantastic part of my research efforts. Its ease of use is its best feature.

Folder Structure. Great app but app folder structure needs improvement. One should be able to modify folder structure after library has contents by using a drag and drop feature.

Business tool and makes you look cool and organized!. Apart from the title I must say I really like this app. I use to take notes by hand and to copy and paste notes and web page links as I research online. To that use I would like to see some new features. 1. cut, copy and paste buttons next to the pen/text icons 2. Colored pens 3. The ability to select, move cut and paste text and selected hand written areas with ease. 4. A screen capture or photo capture option to insert pictures etc easily into my notes. 5. The ability to zoom in and out but still write or type when zoomed. Hope this review helps in some way. Please take the time to review the app yourself in the near future.

Love it... Just needs magnifier. This is a great note program. Syncing to the handwriting as well as text is great. Would love to see a couple things. 1. Handwriting magnifier, I can't write smoothly enough on the screen. 2. Sync program for Mac/PC This could replace one note for me.

Super tool!. Very excellent tool. A few more essential perks like highlight in different colours, search tool, store alphabetically, text emphasize (bold, italicize, etc) would do wonders to an already good app. Thanks.

Usefull app - many device. Useful! With the text linked to my audio I can start at specified position, very useful with long recording. I can record and take notes on the iPhone and it sync to a folder on my Mac Book (to archive or further process) this Dropbox sync feature very very useful. Good quality recording on the iPhone too. It is a simple app that anyone recording audio should have!!! Or at least try!!

Audio Review. The only compliant I have with this app is the speed to open the app. You guys need to speed that up.

Excellent app for meetings and lectures. Use this app all the time. Love the ability to record meetings and lectures. Helps me clarify points of confusion later when notes alone aren't sufficient.

Don't use this app. Updating the iPad software wiped out all my audio files! Very disappointing!

Great Potential. Pros: 1. Keeps time stamps of notes, and drawings during the recording. 2. In playback mode you can add additional notes and the time these additions are made is accurately reflected. 3. The audio quality is quite good, and much better than Ever note. 4. The design is simple and the application is generally useful. 5. Exporting via email and a simple web interface is very useable. Cons: 1. On the point of aesthetics this application is not very pleasing to the eye, as there are no paper color options. I generally like to see a yellow pad, or maybe a blank page, but this option is not available. 2. No ability to add photos or other media. 3. No auto URL recognition. 4. The scroll buttons on the right hand side are small and not useable. An alternate scroll method should be employed. Summary: Overall if you don't care for aesthetics, add other media feature, or URL recognition this app is solid. I believe it to be one of the more useful note taking applications in the app store, but I still haven't found the one I'm looking for. This app does the job and does it well, with clear audio recordings. It is however a work in progress and I would have liked to see a lower price point for the functionality it currently provides. Perhaps $2 or $3 CAD.

NOT voice activated. Not voice activated, for a paid app this is surprising

Does what it advertises to do. This is a simple yet comprehensive note-taker that works as advertised. The hand-writing feature is limited to a rather crude rendition of your own penmanship, but that's a limitation of Apple's OS, not the program itself. The ability to record sound makes it perfect for recording parts of a meeting which might be moving too fast for one to make handwritten notes.

Audionoye. The recording portion is awesome and you can hear the conversations or training very well. thank you for a great app.

What happened?.... It now only works in portrait mode. Why

Used to be great. I have been using this for years on a daily basis, there was nothing nearly as good as this. I have millions of recordings and now I cannot play them or add any new ones because the app does not work with iOS 16 I have been using this for years on a daily basis, there was nothing nearly as good as this. I have millions of recordings and now I cannot play them or add any new ones because the app does not work with iOS 16. Please update this app ASAP!!!

Good notepad, but Needs mp3 audio export. I like Audionote enough to pay for it and I like the ability to share/transfer my docs over wifi. One item that needs improvement is the proprietary audio recording format. I don't so much care what format it uses natively, but it needs an export feature to something usable like mp3 right out of a mobile device.

The Best I've Tried!. Usually when I read these reviews, I'm a little skeptical that it may have been written by the app developer, or a friend of the developer. I'm a little more trusting of the review, if it has some negativity to it. But honestly, I can't really think of anything negative about this app. It does exactly what I want. It's worth the investment. Period.

Could be better. I like the app and the idea of writing notes while recording. However I would like to be able to export the audio file to any other format at will, like *.mp3 I hope that will be fixing in one o the updates Thank you

This App saved my Life!!. I am a Musician and I finally found an app where I can neatly store my song lyrics and quickly get to them when im preforming live! I love that I can record the music intros and quickly listen to the song in case I forget how the song starts. I only wish we could delete the recording to rerecord instead of having to delete the entire file to do so. I also love that it automatically alphabetizes each folder, it would be great if it would alphabetize each note title inside each folder.. Overall the app is a lifesaver for any musician like me who plays what his fans want on call and not just what he and his band have practiced!

Audionote. This app is freakin amazing!! I have terrible handwriting and my cell does a crappy job of recording lectures. Because of this app, I've been able to have a much more organized and neat set up for my notes this semester. I have a folder for each class, I record all the lectures and take notes. Then when it's time for studying, all I need is my iPad with this app and I'm good to go. No more trouble trying to read my chicken scratch and no more trying to make out what my professor is saying through my crappy phone. This app is awesome and I highly recommend it to students at any grade level. Being organized really helps with the good grades and this app won't let you down!!

Look No Further!. HELP, I have accidentally deleted text from a file that I never got a chance to save and I simply need to know how to undo, the paste that replaced the text that previously existed on the UNSAVED DOCUMENT. Written, October 30, 2014. THANK YOU! ------- Previous review: After testing nearly a dozen audio capturing apps; this was by far the best choice and the combination of graphical, text and audio capabilities all working together in one neatly packaged program was the icing on the cake. Look no further. Buy it and enjoy its' simplistic complexity. - IMHO, this is the paragon of all apps!

Needs some improvements. It needs multi-color highlighters. It shuts off my music whenever I open the app. I try to listen to my study music while reading the notes but it will not allow that, even if I don't use the audio feature in the app. Sometimes it messes up the word touch / audio finding. In one case I clicked the words after a lecture and it played music then started at the same point no matter where I clicked. I am glad I don't remember how much I payed for this app. I am not satisfied with it. It used to function properly, including letting me listen to my music while reading the text. I used to show it off all the time. Now I'm asking others about alternatives.

Almost perfect. This app does what it says it does and seemingly well. I would rate this 5 stars with these two changes: 1) Preference to set an audio offset for taps. For example, I could set it to 10s and then any time I tapped an object in playback, it would play at that time minus 10 seconds. This would be nice as it seems I take notes after I hear something (duh) and find myself tapping hotspots only to be tapping rewind/jump back every single time. 2) The free mac app is nice in that it is free and mainly a reader. I'd like it to support wifi transfers. I do not need all of the editing features, but I would like to send larger files directly instead of emailing them.

Amazing Audio note app for the money. I started with the free light version and quickly realized what a powerful tool this was. I ended up purchasing it twice (iPhone and MacBook). Over all this is a great audio notes app. Does what it says it supposed to do and does it well. If you need to reach out to customer service there's someone there ready to assist you within an hour. The details: I have been using this a very powerful tool for over two years possibly three. I put this amazing app through some very tough work situations. On international supplier visits I have to quickly take notes photograph different facilities, equipment and products as well as record meeting meetings. And it has yet to fail me. This is a very simple tool yet extremely powerful at the same time. I consider this one of my favorite apps and it complements my iPhone extremely well. I hardly ever leave reviews but I recently had an issue that was quickly resolved by audionote so I felt that it was time to give them two thumbs up.

One of the best...but.... Hands down I think this app is the BEST in it's class with features that dominate in its domain but... I recently had my iPad stolen and I put the lose my iPhone feature on yet somehow this app is still allowing the iPad to modify data on my iPhone. I will directly contact technical support and find out if it's a iPhone iPad problem or a application malfunction. But users beware of this possible data hacker bug and whatever else can happen as a result.... Anyways have a nice you guys and take it easy peace

Great for school. This has beyond helpful for class and my finals. Love tuis app. I have an issue since the update though which I'm not liking. I go to record and it keeps saying record fail. I have to turn off my iPad several times to get it to work which makes me miss notes for class. And if that does not work I have to take a screen shot and then MAYBE it will work. Please fix that. Also would love to have a repeat button available. In order to replay notes over and over again for studying purposes. Love this app.

Quick Response to Suggestions!. I gave a favorable review a week ago with one recommendation. When you tap a note, your recording begins after the subject discussion had started. It's just the nature of taking notes - to write what you hear and what you heard comes before what you write. This means you have to slide the message back a few seconds to hear the whole discussion on the subject. In the update you can "tap and hold during playback to seek 10 seconds before the note was taken." Wow! The developer is on the ball and the hard work is appreciated. This is an excellent productivity app! Thanks for the quick response.

Superb app!. This is one of the best apps I have on my iPad. It is my go-to app for taking notes during sermons or lectures. The feature that has been the most useful is the way it syncs my handwriting and the audio. All I have to do is tap a certain word and it takes me to the exact second where I wrote the note. The handwriting feature is extremely sensitive and I love that it has such a range of colors. I use a light shade of gray on white paper to add an element of privacy. I also appreciate the consistency of performance; I have never experienced a crash.

Not bad except that the file format is weird.... I like this app, it's nice how you can take notes as you go and the times are written in the margin. I use it every week when I have music lessons or just want to announce some random thought, or make a recording of something weird I heard, etc. The bad part is that the pen function isn't very responsive and it's hard to draw diagrams with it, also the highlighter function is kinda awkward. Also, even though I don't do this much, if I email the file or share it, the audio is some really weird file format, it would be better if they saved the file as .wav, .mp3 or some other file format that is more compatible :)

Awesome App. I'm selling my smart pen! I'm also a college student like the others; This does everything I need! All I ask is that you add folders for my different classes. And maybe a category button so I can easily "file" my notes into said folders. And yes, I agree dropbox integration or atleast email backup is a must when this data is so valuable. And if u could somehow talk to the devs for iStudiez Pro then it would awesome if we college students could link our notes with classes and assignments. One app could link to the other. Similar to how dropbox and docs2go play with each other. Other than that; GOODBYE pen and paper 

A must have for college students!. I have used this app for my notes in class and found it to be very very very useful. Class lectures are awesome to review as the audio will highlight your notes. I only wish that when you select a word in your notes the recording will play a few seconds before word is highlighted as I tend to take my notes a few seconds after the professor speaks. I love the app and it's worth the money if your a college student. Thanks

Great app, however.... Just like others, if they're were a way to have Cloud/Box/DropBox integration, that would be good. I can understand because its audio and text, but it would be cool to be able to save them to those servers. Also, colored text, bold, italicizes, different fonts, bullets, things of that sort, would be nice if that I could updated into the app. I know it's made more for note taking, but wouldn't it be cool if we could change the text as well too? 4 Stars only cause there's always room for improvement. Keep up the good work team!

It has potential. The concept is good, but the note taking part lacks. I put it to the test in my job in which I interview businesses to evaluate their risk. I then write reports from the info I take notes on. The audio will be as good as what your ipad mic will pick up. Cant fault the program for that. It works as advertised in which the audio will pick up from the point where your note syncs up with it. Where it lacks is in the jerkiness of the note taking. Not like writing with a pen of course, but the lag time of the writing can get annoying. What adds to that is that when writing script, the lines are not really smooth. I did like the scrolling of the page in which you can take continuous notes. So it worked for me, but then again not.

Excellent!. I use this app for class and at work. My favorite thing about it is that as you record a lecture/speech you can type a note and that note will time stamp the exact spot of that point in the lecture. This to me is invaluable as I do not have to listen to an entire lecture to find the information I need. I simply tap that point in the notes and I'm brought directly to the desired section. Genius. One thing though, can anyone suggest a good stylus pen and where to purchase? Mine has a fat round rubber tip that does not work.

Something I hope they integrate... The ability to take a photo or video clip that goes into the note while recording would make this app perfect. I'm a college student taking a few science classes where my professors show live experiments. The ability to have it seamlessly switch from just audio to audio+video in the note during these visual experiments would be amazing and help give this app so much more use! The audio+picture would also help with important PowerPoint slides the professors show or other important visual points. It would help re-listening to the lectures a lot easier to follow.

Terrible customer support. I bought the pay version of AudioNote thinking that this might be one of the best note taking programs available. The program itself seems very comprehensive and useful but I have been trying to search for keywords and phrases in my notes to find a specific spot where I can access certain names or information that I am looking for in a long note. Unfortunately that simple search feature is non-existent in the software. After emailing Luminant Software multiple times over multiple days and not getting even a simple reply back, I am giving this software program a 1 star and thumbs down for not having a search feature and also for not giving any customer support.

Not Impressed. I've tried numerous other programs but nothing compares to the audio quality of audio note. However, there are two really BIG drawbacks to AudioNote in my opinion. 1.) Let's say you're in a meeting and afterwards you want to listen to a part of the meeting you were unclear about. If you decide to add any additional notes after the fact, the whole calibration of your notes gets incredibly jumbled. Forget about hand writing the notes, because if you decide to go back and add notes (written or typed) you'll find random segments of your notes or letters sprawled across the page. Once this happens, there's no way to undo the mess. Even if you click the undo, or "back" button, your notes will never be the same and will still be completely jumbled and ineligible. You've then completely lost everything; which is unfortunate especially for those 3 hour lectures you sit through. 2.) The quality of the handwriting, and hand written recognition feature is extremely poor. GoodNotes and TopNotes have beautiful hand writing recognition features. Do not expect your handwriting to be legible. I would recommend to typing out your notes.

Works great.... and gets better all the time. Always adding improvements that are useful. I use it to record lectures in class. I get solid recordings from 20 feet away (not really sure how far it can pickup). Works flawlessly. I show other students the benefits of "tagging" key points in lectures and being able to review/listen to that specific time in recording of lecture by clicking the "tag" I made. With other apps you have to listen to the whole thing or guess where the useful bits are. I can also add more notes later that are time stamped as well. I highly recommend this app; well worth the money.

I Love it but.......... I really enjoy using this app in class it's very convenient, however I would like this app to have the option to "speak to text". Also known as dictation. For example; while in class during a lecture there may be a crucial element that needs to be noted during the lecture. In other words say for instance the professor is speaking about something that is crucial there should be a button that I could press that will text it instead of going through the whole lecture all over again to take more notes it'll take up too much time.....so hopefully you developers read this and make that option available in one of your updates that'll be awesome! Thanks!

great app!. I was patiently waiting to buy this app once the export option became available. I emailed the company asking when it would be released and they responded quickly and let me know... and now I own it! Here is my suggestion to blow other note taking apps out of the water - since you have a great recording and drawing system. Simple Stuff(Assuming of course) that goes a long way: Organization - Creation of folders and sub folders - maybe a way to mark a favorite note, or add to favorites, etc.. Auto-dating button that would insert the date in the note Network Export area- make it more user friendly - kind of bland, doesnt say to open in browser(Its a given, but you know how people are) Maybe a little more UI design. Harder stuff: Export to other programs on the ipad - Pages especially, then the user could send themselves .doc or .pdf version of their notes (without audo of course) Transfer notes between other people with the same app... although I think another app does that already Otherwise, great app! -Jon

Audionote review. This is one of the best app a college girl could ask for. No more buying batteries for an outdated recorder. I love this app because of the versatility. It allows one to take notes while its recording so that you don't have to listen to the entire recording if you only want to revisit a certain point in your lecture then you can do so. I love this app it was worth he price that I paid for it and I definitely recommend it. If your not into taking notes by hand or even having a note book on hand this app is certainly for you. I give this app a 4.5 out of 5 hands down.

Was good on my iPad 2. Needs work for 12.9" iPad Pro. I use this app a lot at various business conferences and recently upgraded from an iPad 2 to the larger iPad Pro. I've quickly discovered it doesn't work well with the Apple Pencil, the app is not optimized for the larger screen (meaning text is huge), and taking pictures within the app needs improved. For pictures I've found it hard to zoom on slides being presented with the larger iPad. This app needs to have the ability to crop photos when they are inserted. Also, pictures should insert in the note where I tapped to take the picture not at the top forcing me to drag it all the way down to the bottom. I've started using OneNote more and more. MS has done an excellent job with their app. If they would incorporate syncing audio to note taking in OneNote I would no longer have a need for AudioNote.

Meeting minutes made easy. This app made my life as someone that takes meeting minutes all day much easier. Before this app I would have to try my hardest to keep up with every word in meetings...but we know I missed many things being said. Now at I have this app I pre-load my agendas and types key words or names and people being to speak and I don't miss anything when I go back got my desk and complete the minutes. Thank you to the designers of the app. It is the best app of its kind on the market. I've tried others including MS OneNote and other iOS apps hut none compare. Worth every penny!!!

One of the most thoughtful and functional apps in stock.. I love this app and it has been very useful for me, however, recently I updated it and realized something changed for the worse. When I'm using the app and I get to a point where I want to change from freehand writing to using the box drawing tool, after I go in the menu and select the tool, when I come out I'm at the very beginning of my notes and have to school allllllllll the way back down to the empty space I was at. If the developers could pleas fix this one little thing, I would greatly appreciate it. Not complaining, just aiding in the pursuit of perfection.

No export?. I really enjoyed using this app until I realized that the recordings are a huge memory hog and there is no way to export the audio file to email or cloud storage. I suppose there may be a way to move recording off the iPad during synch, but I can't find one and there is no help at all at the developer's site. If you are using the app to take notes during long lectures or a conference, you will quickly run out of memory. I would hazard a guess that the audio format used to store recordings does not use much compression. A great idea, but until the compression is improved or cloud storage is integrated, the audio recording is more of a novelty than a useful feature. The notepad portion is well done, however, and the method of referencing recordings to notes is a very intuitive feature.

AudioNotes App for iPad is Spectacular. Truly an amazing App! As the President of Ardynn Media Group I use every function of this App to plan out existing and new projects that pertain to the Ardynn Publishing Division of our company. I started using it because I needed something that was multimedia and had few limitations to help me structure the new video production unit at Ardynn Publishing. Being a real estate industry leader, I tend to look for tools that are functional, portable and cutting edge and AudioNotes is all three. I can work from anywhere and shaw across the company network. This saves time, yet gives my team an in-depth look into what I'm thinking regarding projects and new content ideas for The LIME Magazine. First I do a rough draft of the note I text, I then use the audio feature to make specific voice notes to individual team members. I then regroup and do a final structure with the highlighting tool to draw attention. Finally I create a specific folder and share wirelessly across iCloud Michael Harris President Ardynn Media Group

Bluetooth keyboard support. I bought all the apps for recording and note taking, and this is my favorite, but I'm frustrated that when I turn on my bluetooth keyboard for fast note taking (I'm a very fast touch typist), I can't turn the record button on and off, because the touch capability is disabled. Please enable the start, pause, and stop so I can touch it while I have the keyboard turned on! Otherwise, this app seems superior to the others, making the cost worthwhile. Sound is excellent too. That was an expensive way to find out which one was best, but now I know!

BEST APP FOR PREACHERS!!!!. I know many people don't think of using an app to preach to other but this is by far, now, the best app for all speakers, teachers, preachers and lecturers. You can highlight, draw pics have boxes and etc for all your speaking notes. Then it has a mode that's only for reviewing. It doesn't keep popping up with a keyboard just because I hit the screen. #Winning Now with the Full screen feature in Landscape mode I can keep my iPad prompt up in the best way for me to read and it takes the whole screen. Also has an iCloud now so I get all the same content on my iPhone like bam!!! Last week I did this study on the Holy ghost and how it's more than just speaking in tongues and many have it before they ever speak. Yeah great stuff right but I was without my iPad but had my phone and a group of kids wanted to learn. I pulled out my phone and bam, had it, taught it and minutes later they spoke in tongues. My God is amazing and this app helps so much!!!!!

Student. I love all the features that have been added over the months!! I used this app on my iPad my last semester at school. With three math classes it was critical for me to have lecture audio synchronized with my notes, so I could go back and listen when studying. I'm trading up from my iPad to a laptop next semester as I finish my graduate program, and I am really happy to see that I can run AudioNote on a Mac! This app is pure muscle when it comes to serious audio note taking! Thank you for all the added features since I used the app last!! I really like the way the pen width and color tool interfaces! Nicely done.

Great Ap but Email issues.... This Ap is great. I use it to record all my lectures and am able to take notes at the same time. The only issue I am having is the email ability. I have tried multiple times to email my lecture notes through the pdf format but nothing gets sent. I do not have an Iphone or Mac computer so I do not have Icloud in which I can sync my lectures on to it. What can I do to get my information from an email? It says it has email abilities but I have yet to see it work. I really need this to function so that I don't have to retype all my information. The only way I will have a hardcover copy of my information is if I am able to email the info to myself and print it off my main computer (Lenovo). Please fix this issue.

The best and simplest audio note app available. If you want to record a meeting and capture everything said with the ability to jump back to any section that you scribed a note, this app is the best I have found, and I've tried and researched dozens. It is simple and just works every time. Better than Livescribe, OneNote or any other iPad app for making sure you hear everything that is said during a meeting, even in a large conference room. I have recorded an entire 8 hour meeting and since it uses my iPad to store the data, there is no need to keep turning it on and off. Nothing to keep charged, just bring your iPad and a stylus.

Needs Improvement. The concept for this app is great but it needs A LOT of work. The review button shouldn't be so close to the camera button. I stopped recording without noticing bc I accidentally hit that button instead. Every time you take a picture, it takes you to the very top of the page and you have to keep scrolling down to take another picture in that same area. It would also be nice if the stare size picture it placed was consistent in size and not completely huge. I also wish that when you tapped on the screen to use the text tool that it would place the cursor where you tapped. These are just a few improvements that could be made of many.

Love it, Fix it!. I love it as a college student. I take pics of the slides which frees me up to just sit and listen to the professor all the while recording the lecture. Two issues: When I take a pic and insert it into the page, it jumps up to the top of the page. Not very nice if it's the 15th slide. Now I have to scroll all the way back down to the bottom to take the next pic. Very annoying and unintuitive. Second, during playback, when I go to scroll down on my iPad, it jumps the audio to wherever random spot I touched. It should not jump the audio unless I tap on a certain part. If I want to look at a different slide without jumping audio, it's impossible. So, swipe up or down to scroll, no audio jump, tap on a certain section, yes audio jump. Fix those two aspects, and it's a 5 star app all the way.

Lifesaver!. I've been using this app for several years, as a professional student. It is one of the best apps that I use on a daily basis. Studying is a breeze! I love the new features (Nov 2015) Just great! The ONLY reasons it gets four stars: (4) 1. Collaboration can be a challenge if others do not use this app. (Pdf sharing can even be interesting) this process could be streamlined for the non-user-collaboration side. However, there is a free version which is available if it's a must. 2. Since the most recent update. Tracking is a little funny when using Bluetooth keyboard. For example, changing font colors or writing in pen will SOMETIMES make dragging with a digger, afterwards, unavailable. This makes it tricky to navigate for a few seconds. Not a big deal though. Highly Recommend. Also, it would be nice to see the option to create different colored netbooks and have a visual representation of notes that is more organic than a file structure. This would make notes more navigable and improve share ability tremendously. Finally, the full version of the desktop software should be INCLUDED when the premium app is purchased.

Good app but need more functions. I like the app but would like the following features, some of which are already available in other notes taking apps 1. Change Fonts options should be on the Menu bar all the time 2. Expand (or extend) page width 3. option to hide the Notes List in both landscape and portrait mode 4. Highlighter with different colors for handwritten text (current highlighter function only works with typed text) 5. Different page background (color and style), lined paper, graph paper... 6. Zoom file while writing with hand and bring it back to normal size 7. Option to work on imported files in page mode or continuous mode (currently only continuous mode is available) 8. Option to get different file formats other than pdf like doc, ppt... 9. Option to insert pages in imported pdf file 10. Option to bring files from web, and other cloud storage like google docs, box.... 11. Option to EXPORT files in PDF format directly to cloud

Great App!. Very impressed with this app! I am not the greatest note taker. I tend to start taking notes and then don't listen to what else is being said while I'm writing my notes. This app is wonder in that I can record and type my notes and then go back and listen to the audio just from clicking on the keywords I had written. This gives me the opportunity to add to my notes. My notes are more thorough now than they ever were. I used the option to save it to iTunes and then placed it on my desktop from there. I was then able to save that meetings notes and audio to a project folder for anyone to review. I will be using this a lot!

Almost There!. First, I should say that this is an amazing app! It is truly productive. We intend to use it in the construction industry for capturing job site conditions in the form of Daily Job Journals. I do have some suggestions, though. It would be nice to be able to incorporate photos in a variety of ways: from albums, by inline selection, from MMS messages, and by copy-and-paste. Also, it would be useful to be able to attach video. Finally, it would be nice to be able to define a list of topics in, say, a setup area, that could be popped in when typings notes. I might call this feature "predefined lists." As for bugs, I have found only one: The attached HTML file in the email sent by "sharing" doesn't always format correctly when drawings are present. The image of the drawings overlaps the surrounding text. A minor enhancement might be to allow us to choose the font used in the TXT and HTML attachments of the emails sent by sharing. Bottom line: This is a must-have app! Kudos!

Fantastic App. This is a fantastic app. I've tried various note taking apps and this is by far the best I've tried. Two things set it apart. Most importantly, the ability to track voice and written note is GREAT! I also like the fact that it has both typed and written note options and that the the typed note can be started on any line (eg below a drawing). This is not the case with some of the other Programs out there. An outstanding program. Would love to see a desktop program to match (for downloading notes taken on the iPad). Regardless, I think this program is a home run. Thanks! Steve S

Most used app on my iPad. I love this app. But, be cautious and remember to exit out of the app when done. My one and only complaint about this is that the app does not allow the iPad to auto-lock. The app will stay on until you exit out of it, draining the battery. I've had several instances where I close the lid on the computer and the app keeps running only to grab my iPad later to find a big chunk of the battery has been drained. Otherwise, the app does everything it promises and has helped me go paperless with my sales business.

Great App. The app does a great job. Recorder is quite good at picking up audio and time stamping is great to get to reference points in recording. Like other reviewers have mentioned the ability the ability to edit and maintain links definitely needed. Additionally there does not appear to be a way to sync or load an existing note on one device to another device, for instance from one iPad to another. I tried to copy file to Dropbox but there is not a way to load an existing audionote file into AudioNote even though app is on device. I know you can get file onto computer and on a Mac with app listen to file. Anyway I hope for improvements.

Great Help in Classes. This is a great way to go back over what a professor is saying if you didn't have enough time to write it down during class. Overall I love it but I have a few changes I'd like to see. Certainly worth it though! I don't like that you can't highlight exactly what you want. When you try to highlight something the text moves and you when you switch back to typing it moves again so something other than what you wanted is actually highlighted. I wish you could adjust how the mic focuses in on sounds, if someone coughs during a lecture that is what the app focuses in on and you lose quality in sound of what you really want to hear.

5-Stars, but time for a U/I update. Like so many people say, this is a fantastic app! I use it almost daily. Even if I never go back and listen to the recording, it's nice to know its there. Two things: --bring the look and feel up to date. Just get a designer on it and update the logo too and you'll sell even more. --there should be an alert that reminds me that the app is recording after certain periods of time and asks if I want to continue. I left it on for two days once because I clicked into something and away I went. Otherwise, Thank You for a great tool.

Had to downgrade my rating. I suddenly cannot email files. The text comes through but not the audio. It keeps telling me that there was an error. First, it told me to create more disc space. I got rid of a TON of files, including AudioNote files which I thought were fine because they were emailed to me. Only after I deleted them, I noticed that the emails were incomplete... that only the HTML and text versions were there and NO audio!!! So I lost my audio on very important files. And now it won't let me send any audio whatsoever. There's a bug in the system that seriously needs to be fixed. If you're paying for the capability of audio files being emailed, then they should be there. It worked early on and now has stopped working completely. I don't 'hate' the app but gave it one star because this is not a small issue. The whole point is recording the audio and being able to retrieve it later!!

Very nice - but wait. I bought this app. Note sure if this can totally replace my livescribe pen, but this is great. Only thing - it says you can email and share notes and audio files.... HOW???? I don't see a way to do this. I need the ability to export so I can put my notes in a notebook app like MS OneNote or Circus Ponies. Anyone care to tell me how to export? description says you can.... Other than that, it has great potential. and I am glad i can use it on both my iphone and ipad. would've gave it 5 stars if it could email and export like the description says it can....

Notes. I was looking for a app on Kim commando and she said that this was suppose to be a great app for people who need to take notes while recording. I showed my son this for his architecture classes and now he uses it to write his notes a record his professors lecture. Since sometimes he can't recall what they lectured about because of hey sons notes. I would recommend this to any college student who has any professors that talk fast or can't write fast because when you record while writing and then stop you can go back and click on that line and hear what the professor or person said.

WOW!!. This app is amazing. Exactly what I was looking for. Actually more, I wanted to be able to tag parts of lectures so I could listen to the lecture and match it to my notes. With this I dont have to write notes in a notebook I can type them on my phone which is much quicker and I can draw things! I can download it to my computer afterward pretty easily. The only request I would have is to allow us to flip the screen upside down. My mic plugs into the sync jack and I can flip the mic down and it would work like a stand. If the screen flipped I could use it that way which would be more convenient. But overall amazing app. Has changed the way I take notes. Money well spent.

Bad Upgrade!- Thanks for the fix. Overall a very useful if only I can record. The upgrade messed the recording function and "Recording Failure" is all I get when I press the record button. Please fix it or make it free. An update on my review (dated May 06 '11)- Thank you for the fix. I was able to record for a long time, no complaints on the quality of the recording (may be because it was in a small room) and was able to export the entire audio file through itunes to my laptop, no problems there either. An useful app.

Great app but new version handwriting doesn't work. I've been using this app for almost 2 years on a daily basis for taking notes in meeting and recording. I love this app and an I love the new changes in his latest version, but the handwriting in the new version is not working properly. The handwriting does not capture all strokes of the pen like it used to. If this is not fixed quickly it makes this app useless and I will have to find another app. I hope it is fixed quickly since the rest of the app is awesome. I have not changed my writing style or pen that I use. The app was updated to the latest version today and now I can't use it until the handwriting portion is fixed. I will update my rating once that is fixed.
