DrChrono EHR / EMR Comments & Reviews 2024

💸 Want to send money abroad for free?

We transfer money over €4 billion every month. We enable individual and business accounts to save 4 million Euros on bank transfer fees. Want to send free money abroad or transfer money abroad for free? Free international money transfer!

Highly customizable but cumbersome to use.. This product has multiple tabs on the exam template section. There are multiple sections under each tab. This makes it time consuming to use when trying to fill in information for an exam.

Great EHR. This EHR is soo Easy to use and to train new employees. Great functionality. Simple. Versatile. Customizable. All great features. Customer service needs some work but over all thumbs up!!!

Better than others. DrChrono has room for improvement, doesn’t allow for nurses to use full scope of practice as provider has to enter order themselves and change made to pend order, still requires more clicks than entering themselves. Interfaces do not work all the time and DrChrono does little to try and find solutions been having lab issue for 6 months and still not fixed. Does not work on non apple products which presents a problem getting pts to use portal services. Not speciality friendly and doesn’t allow for personalization. Not elderly friendly.

This app is so buggy. Stay away!!!. If you are doctor, stay away stay away. So many issues all the time. They take forever to fix things. Their priority seems to make money not fix problems. Your patients will be annoyed at you. Do not start using because then all your patient data is with them.

Poor customer support. I have never left a 1 Star review before. There is no number to call when you need support, they lock you into contracts that automatically renew for a full year (month to month is not an option, even if you have the employee just for another month) and putting contracts on hold until you hire another doctor is not an option. Have been having an issue that’s been unresolved and apparently they’re understaffed. Won’t be renewing when this contract is up despite of the difficulty of switching EHR systems.

Good app but missing some key integration.. I like this companion app to the web product, can do most things on mobile like desktop. Like many mobile platforms there are some shortcomings. One key missing element is when patients schedule online appointments, you cannot view or act on any details of that appointment with the iPhone and iPad messages function. If this was added it would truly be much more functional.

If you’re a small clinic, don’t use this platform!!. I am going on month 5 trying to use this EMR. I’ve been on the phone several times to work out various kinks: consents not being sent out, intake questions not being able to be accessed, not being able to process payments and now not having epcs work. I pay $379 a month for this EMR. I’ve been through their onboarding trainings. I currently do not have an account person to call and work out problems. I use their number on their Home Screen. So, I pay $379 a month, but then have to email out consents separately, I created an intake form on Google forms, and have to send that to my patients. And finally, I have had to use Venmo to collect payments. So, considering the customer service, the cost of the EMR AND all the work I am doing outside this EMR to care for my patients, just save yourself 5 months of time and a couple thousand dollars .

Good free EHR. I have used drchrono for years. It is a great EHR for charting: allows free text in all fields. The eRx feature was great before a fee was charged to use it. Easy scheduling, nice to be able to chart on an iPad Pro. Understanding that most EHR developers charge per patient encounter, it is nice that there are still a few that are free. The notes print out nicely too.

Great EHR. This is a great EHR with easy of use in all iDevices. It is customizable to your practice, templates for setting things up. The App makes it so easy to help patients on the road, check patient charts, send prescriptions, and talk to text notes.

Do not switch to this EHR. The company expanded too fast and I spend more time watching spinning circles than charting right now. When I tried to leave due to 6 months of dysfunction my data was available to me but in a form so unwieldy it was too costly/time consuming for me to be able to leave. Do not let this company imprison you in their web of mediocre functionality.

So easy to use. I have purchased several different EMRs in the past but I have found the perfect one. Dr. Chrono is so intuitive and it allows me to stay on top of the billing/business side of my practice without the need for any additional tools. It really does remove a lot stress from the practice of medicine.

User Friendly. I’ve used other EHR’ and EMR’s program and this is the best one I’ve used so far. It’s very user friendly. It’s easy to navigate. Best part of it you can access it anywhere. All the patient information you need is all in one application. No need to file and pulling up patient’s chart. I highly recommend this.

Not worth the money.. DrChrono will just run system updates randomly without warning during a normal practice day. The server is extremely slow at times and even if you have the most updated app it will still run slow and randomly kick you off in the middle of chart noting.

Company uses false advertising.. I’ve used the free version and it’s pretty limited. I received a post card stating that they would give me a free Echo dot if I spent over an hour on a call with a representative about the full version. So I did it, but didn’t join to see if they’d follow through and send the dot. They told me on 3 separate calls that the advertising or some other dept would get that out to me, but I needed to hurry and join to get a special deal. Needless to say they never did follow through and send me the dot. Not the kind of company I want storing my pt information.

Great EHR!. We’ve been using Dr Chrono for years and frankly we couldn’t be happier. The customization of templates is the best feature allowing each of our docs to practice how they want to.

Easy to use and access. I have been using Dr Chrono for over 2 years and I have been impressed with the ease of use and ability to access anywhere. I have customized all my forms and have worked with their support when a form wouldn’t load properly. After several months, it worked perfectly and I was impressed they kept working on it.

Inconsistency. This is one of the most frustrating programs I used in my 9 years as a provider. 1. There is no consistency between the website/desk top version and the iPad. 2. All the updates are only done to the iPad of iPhone version 3. Tech support is useless, unless your want to know how to clear your cache, and then they are great. 4. System slowness almost daily for the past year, despite “upgrades” 5. ICD 10 library is pathetic, I have better luck goggling them. 6. The only program that I’ve used that’s more frustrating is eClinical Works 7. Has a lot of potential, but lacks internal support. The “new” VP of information or whatever they call themself said there goal was to improve the program. Well 6 months later and well were still waiting for the improvements. 8. Lately we’ve been having lost prescriptions 9. They want to outsource to a bunch of apps like health gorilla, which all come at a cost, and have the potential to be helpful but DrChrono system is so dysfunctional that it’s hard to use them. 10. Lab interfaces are down often. I think I’ll stop at 10, you get the drift.

Great EMR !!!. We love this total system Billing, Scheduling, and EMR. Productivity has improved and my notes don’t take as long to do. EMR is customizable and fairly easy to learn. Chrono team does a good job.

Updates. Well done. I don’t use currently because I was a sole practitioner and the cost was actually higher than other options and there were not enough integrations at the time. More flexibility in forms was an issue.

Poor support terrible back end system. Typing a clinical note is fine, dealing with the constant glitches is absurd. Multiple times thought out the week we will receive an error that says “something is broken”. When you call customer support they tell you “the problem has been escalated” and then nothing. The billing and account is atrocious. AVOID this company.

Try it!. Great EHR for basic functions like viewing and creating schedules and typing up prescriptions. Don't expect too much more in the free version though- otherwise it's a great basic app and program!

Always Improving.. I have been with and using DrChrono for about 6 years now. They are always improving. It is a nice system that can be used multi-disciplinary. I am a chiropractor an I used it with a a medical Nurse Practitioner. What initially appealed to me is there was no multi thousand dollar up front software like a lot of other EHR companies want to charge you, along with yearly upgrade fees. None of that here so you start off saving thousands.

EMR. Simple, easy to learn, easy to customize. Can write note while one sees the patient, so you don’t have to work after hours.

Danger! Stay away from this company. The Worst business decision I have ever was work with Dr Chrono. Reports are poorly generated. Billing was a nightmare. So many mistakes, missed timely filing, lost claims, a total mess. I wrote off $50,000 because of incompetence. My A/R was soooo high. Everything is outsourced to India including support and billing. We we lucky if we go a response…. Usually they didn’t understand the question so then we had to wait another 48 hours for an answer. Messaging was the tedious. Poor communication. We had a new project manager ever 3-6 months. I will give them one thing, even as the ship was sinking, they were polite.

Streamlined all in one EMR. I’ve used Dr Chrono for the past 6 years and they’ve grown into a mature company that you can trust to manage your billing and be responsive to the acute needs of running a modern day medical practice. Online scheduling, bill pay, managed billing, an iPad app that helps streamline the work flow, it’s all here in one interface.

Beautiful app. I have been a Drchrono user since 2012. They have come a long way. The app has improved by leaps and bounds. I emphasize the app because the beauty of this EHR is in the IPad and IPhone apps. My work flows beautifully. I can document easily with my attention never wavering from the patient. I can dictate when I want to which works wonderfully. The support is great and responsive as well. I used to have a dinosaur system for my office which I have since buried. Sign up with drchrono. You won’t regret it.

Great software. I really enjoy using this software, especially for my house call business. The app is easy to use for EHR and the check in feature is amazing!

Wrong again for years never fixed, I am not a doctor. What a mess that you still cannot fixed, stop sending me emails referring that I am a doctor and no free app will be charges, deleted and sent unsubscribed for years. Do not have your app on newer iPad Pro and never wanted or downloaded this scam must stop, not a customer , never ordereded and not ever downloaded, but was told by Apple my I’d was compromised that was fixed, but you need to stop Harasing me by false statements claiming I am a doctor. Or legal actions will follow to stop and desist as still unsubscribes fails and still getting emails after blocking you is unacceptable to any users of your I downloaded app.

Amazing people great personalities I honestly can’t wait to get to work. Amazing people, great personalities. Can’t wait to get to work besides such amazing people in such a great environment!

iPad problems. Overall a pretty decent system, just having a repeated problem with the iPad version. Not sure if it’s just mine or others have problems too. They are very nice and try to fix it quickly, but not having a live person is hard because no immediate help available.

Best EHR. I opened my practice 10 years prior and was looking for a cloud based EHR that was easy to set up and use. Dr. Chrono has surpassed my evert expectation. By far and away the easiest EHR I ever used and the dictation feature on the iPad is great. Recommend above all other EHR on the market.

App not working. Since the new updates the app will not pull up the patient documents from previous visits. The support has been horrific and it’s been six weeks and they still have not fixed the issue.

Amazing. I have been with drChrono since the beginning when they were just developing it. At that time I just used scheduling and notes, I have to say they have come far, very good support and system over all. I am very happy with it and referred many doctors.

Quality EHR for Chiropractors. Software is very customizable; fairly easy to use; has an aesthetically-pleasing interface; offers automatic insurance eligibility checks; is cloud-based and compatible with Macs. I wish they allowed you to use your own clearinghouse, as my new state organization requires a different clearinghouse than what they’re using, which makes me unable to utilize the software.

So great!. what I like most about this software is how user friendly it is. it's simple to really teach new hires how to set demographics, patient info, billing, scheduling. Etc There really isn't too much bad to say about dr. chrono other than when you have multiple tabs open the site itself will slow down. what benefits for me, is just the simplicity of the software instead of worrying to much about getting all my info in, it helps me interact with patients

Dr Chrono. I switched to DRCHRONO about a year ago from ALLSCRIPTS. I am a single practitioner with 2 building practice and 4 members. I have a billing company and do not bill with DRCHRONO. I have been very happy with the day to day usage of DRCHRONO. We use mini iPads except front desk who used a laptop. Our patient fill out forms also with mini iPads very successfully. I also utilize my iPhone when at nursing homes or charting from home. Customization is very straight forward and faxing, scanning, taking pictures and sending prescriptions is really easy. Nothing is perfect but I am very happy with this EHR.

Needs more features. Overall the app is good for checking schedule and reviewing notes, but I wish I could access messages like iPad app does. It seems I need to carry around an iPad when I travel because iPhone app doesn’t have messaging. Also refills are cumbersome to do with the app. Overall it’s a bit useless without ability to check messages

Times not correct. After the newest update, the times to schedule a patient are not correct. There is not a way to change them either. Basically I cannot use it on the go, it’s just for looks.

Dr Chrono Review. I am a student at Nassau Community College. One of the software systems that we need to learn is Drchrono. Drchrono is a stimulation software that we use through the AHIMA virtual lab. I loved using the Drchrono software. I like that it told me my mistakes as soon as I made them and correct my errors so I could better learn how to use it. I like that the software is a stimulation that teached you how to use the software as your using it. I am a very visual leaner so learning a software this way was really great for me. The benefits of this software is that it is so easy to use and very user friendly. It makes it so easy to accomplish any task in the medical office needed that is used with the Drchrono software.

Cannot be accessed by 2 people at a time. This is a major issue for me with the software. If I am inside the EMR , what I am entering will not be saved if another staff member is into the patient’s EMR. This is an issue as a lot of time and effort is used to enter data and it would be nice if like in epic, you can have assistant , biller and you be on the same patient and have all our input be saved. The good part is it is easily customizable.

Horrible company, pitiful customer support. Biggest mistake we ever made in practice was to use this company. I would not recommend their services to anyone. Nothing but issues and horrible customer service. Avoid and save yourself the headaches.

Useless Customer Service and support. Customer service is awful. Forget about talking to someone on the phone. Can take days to get a problem fixed. Also beware, even though it doesn’t mention in signed contract, they put a clause in to check website for changes like contract automatically renewals for another whole year. Ridiculous. I have been with them for 8 years and this is the thanks i get.

Not great. Customer support is by chat only Monday through Friday 8 to 3 or so. Zero phone number available to make phone calls to them. You must schedule your phone calls in advance if you’re having an issue which can be days away. Support cannot provide resolution to many of our tickets, we’ve had better luck asking Facebook groups for tips and tricks. The video platform is quite terrible. Dropped videos all the time. Missing audio. Lost prescriptions often as well. Wrong time zone. And they can’t even fix that to have a time zone that matches Arizona properly. All 12 months of the year. They heavily market their iPad app. Well, my video appointments haven’t worked with my iPad for over a year and that’s just one of our open tickets for several months now. For this price, the customer service service should be steller, the video platform, flawless.

Unpredictable. Have this EMR for last seven years EMR quality and efficiency deteriorated over the last couple of years, Compared to other EMR it’s performance is subpar Dictation does not work all the time, glitches every two three weeks Scheduled drugs through surescript is another area of improvement Lots of improvements are needed

Going downhills. We have had this EMR for 12 years. It certainly is user-friendly, but not without flaws. The most troublesome is when we decide to implement new changes especially with billing modules we truly suffer tremendously not to mention financially the developers do this without any regards for the practice. In 2023 new billing module is full of problems and three months into it. We are still losing money.

Excellent app. I have used Dr. Chrono for three years. I was initially drawn to certain features like inventory and online scheduling that were not in many other EHR platforms. The things that could use improvement are not being printer friendly with reports, too many clicks to access certain features and functions, lack of choice of provider in online scheduling, and no patient ledgers. The price is high for a small practice. I would stay with them if the price was lower, but I can’t afford to double my monthly fees when I add a second provider to my practice.

Predatory Billing. After my clinic closed due to COVID, they said I couldn’t leave my contract because they only renew yearly. After paying out of pocket for 6 months, I expected the contract to be terminated. I was billed again. They said I didn’t confirm my cancellation. I again told them to cancel, and they said they would. And yet I am still being billed. Check out Praxis. They have a better system and treat you fantastically.

I love Drchrono. Drchrono enables me to access important patient information on the go and allows my patients to receive care faster, eliminating wait times.

Dishonest billing, almost non-existent support. RUN! Please read!. I was a VERY early adopter of this EHR system, and in the beginning they were lovely to work with. EHRs can be very difficult to adapt to and adopt- so the personal one-on-one assistance was terrific. I believe they are under different ownership/management at this point, and they’ve become an absolute nightmare. Word to the wise: DO NOT SUBSCRIBE- you will regret it. They employ dishonest billing practices- forcing you to pay unexplained invoices in order to unlock the system. We were provided with a $1600 invoice at the beginning of May- they told us it was a past due balance. They send a warning when you are 30 days past due-so there is literally no way to accumulate a balance that high. We paid the balance because we had to in order to have access to our system. I was told this brought our balance to $0. Lo and behold- I get an additional invoice for over $600 during the SAME MONTH. I then also find out that we are being billed for a second user which we cancelled months ago, who has NEVER logged in NOT ONCE, and they even better- they won’t delete him until OCTOBER. This was once a terrific service- now it’s just an awful joke. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!

Careful about auto-renew contract clause. Make sure you read your contract carefully. They place an auto-renewal clause in your contract that says they can auto renew you for an entire year. An expensive lessen to learn. A year contract of that kind of money should be something I need to agree to each year. It was my fault that I didn’t read through all of the 15 pages and catch that, I just didn’t think that would be a thing.

Fantastic!. Beautiful user interface and it's fast!

Finally A Use For My iPad!. What a great fit! Its beautiful, functional, and way easier than carrying my laptop around. I love it. An absolute must have for every health care practitioner.

Cludgey. Based on their free trial account I would be loath to pay hundreds of dollars a month. It freezes constantly. Lists of options for diagnoses are minimal and most people would have "other" multiple times as their list of problems. Having used an EMR for 12 years I would say this attempt is poorly structured and unworkable in any practical way.

Great app. Fantastic

Love it!. I'm really excited about DrChrono - it's such a simple and awesome experience that can really help a practice work better.

Chiropractor. This program is very useful with many options available to use for customization

Good user interface. DrChrono is very convenient and easy to use. I am using the free version for now and it suits most of my EHR needs. However, I find that it tends to crash fairly frequently.

Incredibly Valuable. This fills a critical gap for electronic health record documentation in my mobile in-home Physical Therapy business. I am able with the new iPad to dictate notes while I travel between sessions (using a personal hotspot with my iPhone). Later I can review my transcribed notes before electronically signing and locking the note. It is a bit too physician-based in its design and functionality, and I hope one day it will develop into a far more flexible tool for all health care professionals. In any case, I am very happy to have this app as part of my practice.

Awesome!. Every practice should utilize electronic healthcare. This is the app for the job!

Exactly what I was wishing for. Awesome app with everything I have been looking for in an iPad app. Potentially a very powerful app that can save you thousands of dollars in the long run. Don't let the highly medical feel turn you away if your not an MD. This app can be used by any paramedical professional (Chiropractic, Physiotherapy, Massage, Chiropody, Podiatry, Naturopathy, and any others I have forgotten) with a little tweaking. The bottom line is that if you run a cash practice and need to schedule patients and keep records of them then this is the app for you.

Spam. Don't download this app. Their sales team will spam at you every single day. Not sure you would want to leak you client information to a business with this kind of practices.

App won’t sign charts. Every time the system goes down, some new issue pops up. This time, the app on the IPad won’t sign sign charts. I also don’t like how you can’t create a message to send to a patient. Please fix the bugs ASAP. I pay for the most expensive plan.

drchrono saved my practice. drchrono helped my practice go electronic. We used to do all paper charting, and it’s awesome having patients walk in the door, check in via the Check In app, and then do patient intake electronically. Some of my favorites include the free draw function where I can show the patients where I will be operating on them anatomically, the custom templates, and the billing support. I used to submit all my claims via paper, drchrono now handles all my billing, and I save so much time! I can’t wait for the Apple Watch to be released soon. drchrono, thank you for your amazing support, training, and help!

Great new company, really impressed. I spent months looking for a software package that would work well for my unusual style of practice as a chiropractor. Most other software packages were unusable and weren't customizable enough for my needs. Others claimed to be but wanted me to drop $13,000 to purchase the program before I could even try it out at any level. A friend of mine suggested Drchrono and I have been wildly impressed! The customer service department has bent over backward to fill my every need and fix any problem I had. There were initially a lot of bugs in the software and some of them were a big deal but they are a brand new company and each update the software just keeps getting better and more user friendly . I think this company is going to take over the world of EHR platforms and I hope they do. I have not found anything out there that comes close especially for the price. Wow!

Loss of data, buggy and slow. Not what promised, buggy. Absolute waste of time. Looks good, but loss of data is pretty bad.

Dr. Chrono WORKS. No

Best EHR. I have been using Dr C for several years and with every new update it gets better, so mch better. Lets start with the good news that I just received my second stimulus payment from CMS. To apply was do easy with the ad hoc tool. Since my last review I have migrated to the iPad mini. Being on my sixties I was concerned about the size of the characters...no problem, now my iPad 4 is left at home and I don't have to carry a bag with me all the time. Being a surgeon it helps to be able to develop my own templates so I can zero in the info needed for my follow ups. Also I can do my emergency H&Ps for surgery and fax and print on my way to the OR. I have templates that allow me to handwrite and also draw and explain patients the anatomy. In summary, it just getting better with age. Only minus, and avqualified one, is support; sometimes is slow to answer but hardly needed.

Great EHR/Practice Management Software. As a new doctor, I started with the free version of drchrono, which was great as I was starting my practice. As the practice has grown, I have upgraded to the Prometheus plan, which has a lot of awesome features that has made my life SO much easier! I love the customizable templates for my patient notes, and I love the ability to easily print superbills. The program is easy to use, and (obviously) mac compatible, which I love. The staff has been super helpful and although I haven’t really needed much assistance since the program is very self-explanatory, they always get back to me pretty quickly if I have any questions! I also love the fact that the program is cloud-based - I can easily schedule patients or check my appointment schedule from my iPhone if I’m not in the office! The patient reminders are also great - my patients rarely forget their appointments because they’re getting both e-mail and text reminders!

Great App. This app has been so instrumental in freeing up my time at my office. I am an acupuncturist with a continually growing practice and drchrono has allowed me to stay on track without a secretary at all. No more shuffling charts and papers on my off days! The only thing is that on my iPad it does crash frequently enough to make it annoying (like in the middle of saving info I just typed, or just trying to access someone's chart), but reboots fast enough to not make it a time constraint. Otherwise this app has absolutely made my practice far more efficient than it could have been. Oh yeah, and I love the automated reminders that it sends to my patients, no more calling people on the phone to confirm appointments!

Has potential. This app makes it simple and even enjoyable to generate office notes, but that's about it. The practical features that most physicians need in an EHR such as document management, patient data tracking, medical device and lab interface, and intraoffice messaging are nonexistent or primitive at best. Lack of functionality of the companion Internet based application means that everyone involved with the patients care, including the receptionist, nurse, and medical assistant, will need an iPad to document any patient data beyond demographics, smoking status, and vital signs. Thats a lot of iPads! The functionality of the EMR is highly linked to the scheduler, which is highly annoying if you already use a different scheduler or practice management system. There are some cool features, like the ability to take and import patient photos on the spot, and the ability to mark up documents using your finger. While they add to the wow factor, I would much prefer the ability to order labs, document a phone call, or refill medications without all the work arounds. I really wanted to like and use this product, especially since the customer support staff is so responsive. Unfortunately, no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't make it work for my practice. I have no doubt that in time, say maybe a year or so, the people at DrChrono will have a fully functioning EHR will blow the others out the water, but right now it isn't ready for prime time.

From a physician. Dr Chrono is slow very often, they are rigid in their ability to make changes, and they have yet to transfer over my previous EHR (its been over a year).

Very useful for low volume, small office. Wonderful system. I have a very small office with low volume, this EHR system allows me to have all the advantages of other much larger offices without the cost. Currently I am on the free monthly subscription and it does everything I NEED, but not quite everything I WANT. Due to being low volume I cannot justify the cost of Dr Chrono doing my billing (even though I image they would do it well), the one thing I would suggest is that they come out with better pricing options for low volume small offices. They priced themselves out for me and I sure other people have office's like myself. I would be willing to pay a monthly subscription, they just need to give me the right option and I would be converted from a free monthly subscription user to a paying user...

UPDATE-STILL crashes with second update!!!. Please fix the new update ASAP!!! When trying to open the app on my iPhone 5, it just immediately crashes and will not open and load at all. It works on our iPads at the office, but not on my iPhone. I love using this app for work, but I do not own an iPad at home, so I can only see very limited information on my iPhone. I wish it was not an iPad only application!! If it worked the same or similar on each device, the app would be so much better. It's unfortunate that I cannot chart or view a patient's chart from my phone application. There are some areas that, in my opinion, have extra unnecessary steps/buttons you need to press to get more patient information, having to view the completed note before signing and closing/unlocking to open, etc. instead of just clicking "done" and having the application do the extra steps automatically. Overall, it's a simple system that works! Just wish there was more consistency between the different devices and the web.

Stay away!!!. I gave DrChrono the benefit of the doubt for over a year, upgrading to this relatively expensive EHR due to the slick-looking iPad app and promise of regular support. Unfortunately, their system remains unstable to this day, with repeated outages, disconnects from the server, and with promised features never arriving. When contacting support, you might as well save yourself some time and find a wall to bang your head against in frustration. Typically you’ll get no response whatsoever, but occasionally you’ll be upgraded to “Level 2” support, where a friendly email tells you to try restarting your device. The final straw for me, though, was when we attempted to cancel the service and switch to a more reliable EHR. As one might guess from the “amazing” technical support, your cancellation requests will simply be ignored, and you cannot remove your credit card information from the system! They will continue to bill you, citing their “30 day cancellation policy” while failing to actually respond and cancel your account at any time. Eventually we had to simply open a dispute with the credit card company instead to get this shut off. Find a functional EHR with functional staff, and stay away from this snake oil.

The best and I've used them all. Int Med. I use this emr for keeping notes on my patients where ever they go, hospital nursing home, office. Very user friendly and easily modified to meet my needs. Staff have been upgraded and rude people no longer there so feel free to call them. I had used several others between dr chrono but would rather pay for their service than have a useless free emr. Only downside is patient's need to get on portal sign up to have access, but this may be a hippa feature. Anyway give it a try for 1 month and spend some time learning the full flexibility.

VERY happy!!!. I am VERY happy with my decision to switch to DrChrono! It was a little frustrating at first building my templates specific to my needs and getting them to work the way I wanted, but tech support was awesome and quick to help. Now that I have it just how I want it, it saves me a TON of time and allows me to leave work at work and focus on my family when I leave rather than inputting notes and financial information into my old system every evening. What used to take me 10-20 minutes to input now takes me less than a minute shaving hours off my work day. I also LOVE the "copy previous note" feature since I practice Acupuncture and many patients repeat the same treatment for several visits, this saves me a ton of time. If another patient comes in for the same issue, I can go to the other patients note and copy/paste their plan notes into the new patients chart and then tweak it to meet that patients needs. The billing integration with the Apollo plan is nothing short of amazing. I can input my coding on the iPad and my office manager can figure out the patient's co-pay or coinsurance on her computer at the front desk and instantly send the bill to insurance while I get the patient's note completed and begin seeing the next patient. Everything is streamlined! I <3 DrChrono and so does my family!!!!!

Useless. 3 days after I contacted support team the problems keeps going. I just can't schedule any appointment due to some connection error that only affects this app. Several blogs over the internet have many users complaining of the same issue (plus many others that I had not experienced) and support team is not able to fix them... I guess is better to not contact them, and just wait for a update...or pick other service, there is a few similar apps (fully functional, BTW, on app store)...and those might wort a pay subscription. The reason I bough The New iPad 3 days ago was exactly for this app; I'm glad apple made a great product, so I will not regret the purchase. Support team, responded to my questions in a timely manner and professionally...the communication was lost after they requested my user name and password so they can access my account from their ipads.... I provided them this information (obviously changed the password) but so far...I'm still waiting.

SoCal Lazer & Medi Spa. We love the ease of the system and how user friendly this system is!!

Great service!. We utilize Dr. Chrono for our telemedicine firm and have great results and are able to scale our business exponentially.

Great EHR.... I'm a solo practitioner who recently began using drchrono to manage all ehr and medical billing needs for my practice. I've had a great experience. I find the software and the support/service quite robust, much moreso than my previous ehr and medical billing software and service, and am very happy I switched. On the software side, the web calendar implementation, the live claims feed, and the navigation and workflow in the iPad and iPhone apps stand out, and, on the support/service side, the easy availability of live training and support have been extremely helpful. I have hit a couple snags getting set up with electronic billing, but as they turned out to be the fault of the payer and/or clearinghouse, I can't blame drchrono for those. Similarly, while there are a few software features I'd like to see implemented, they are far enough beyond what I've seen in other ehr and medical billing systems that I don't count it against drchrono that they haven't been implemented yet. I highly recommend drchrono!

Drchrono. Using for four years. Very happy. Busy practice keeps up well.

iPad app responsiveness is too slow. In today’s world we expect apps to be responsive. I don’t understand why we have to wait for screens to load on the iPad app. Don’t leave us hanging!

Dr. Chrono is THE EHR App to use!. I've integrated my health clinic with the Dr. Chrono applications including their new OnPatient app. It took a little time to get used to the workflow because of my stubbornness to switch over from paper documentation. The team is very responsive to your (consumer) needs and is open to building an application with the doctor in mind. They even have a portion of their website dedicated to hearing what their users want. You can vote for features and if enough people want it...they build it! I firmly believe that tablet computing is the next "big " thing for the healthcare industry and I'm excited to work with a company that embraces it.

Useless app. You can’t read or send messages in it, refilling meds requires you to retype the whole order, and you can’t put breaks into your schedule from the app. But you can pull out your cellphone and chart a visit, as long as you don’t chart too much narrative. It doesn’t render in a way that allows you to read it.

Rx need a copy button from subjective and trial lenses. Bhjnm

Unreliable. The app is down on a regular basis. If I could give no stars I would.

Working things break, problems never get solved. This is a constantly evolving iPad based EMR. Unfortunately, the developers seem to spend a lot of time making it look pretty and almost no time fixing serious problems. Accounts receivable is unusable. I haven't been able to send an accurate patient statement in the two years I have been using the platform. Medicare secondary payer billing has never worked - this is a serious flaw since federal law requires physicians to file Medicare claims electronically for their patients or face serious penalties. I have written off thousands of dollars of MSP claims waiting for this simple claim function to work. Although insurance claims are filed accurately through the clearinghouse, the data coming back is frequently (i.e. almost always) misapplied to the patient account. The actual medical record part is solid. Once you are used to and understand the work flow, a quality progress note which supports the level of billing is generated nicely. It would be equally nice to be able to actually get paid for the work done. If you decide to try this EMR, DO NOT switch your accounts receivable until they have resolved the myriad billing issues. I am having to restart a separate billing system and manually submit MSP claims as I have lost confidence in their interest in or ability to fix the claims and accounts receivable problems.

Super EMR. We have been using since 2013 and have consistent reliable service, great customer support and they listen to docs and implement new features all the time. We are completely paperless. My husband completes all his charts by end of day. It's easy to modify the templates. Being able to pull up a patients chart on your IPhone is great when they call with questions, or need a refill. When I started to research other EMRs back in 2010, I told my husband to wait as none of the ones I looked at had simple elegant, easy to use, well designed user interfaces. When I saw DrChrono for the first time, I recommended we try it. It took us at a couple weeks to get good at building templates, but once that was done we were set. We were able to design very complex forms like the ACOG prenatal which is 4 pages and hundreds of fields, and also contains up to 30 separate visits. We can take pictures of ultrasounds as a way to save that with chart. I worked for 15 years in Silicon Valley and have a Masters in Computer Science. I know software and good design! Drchrono is the real deal! My husband is a busy OB Gyn and he loves it. Drchrono is the future of EMRs and all the others are just trying to catch up. I highly recommend it.

FM Physician. I have used numerous EMR/EHR's none of which has compared to Dr Chrono. Dr. Chrono is by far the most user friendly EMR I have ever used. I have been able to set the program up to my satisfaction with very little assistance. I am by no means I Tech person. However anytime that I have needed help it has always been just a phone call away. Their customer support is second to none. Why anybody would not use this software is beyond me. It allows instant billing straight from your iPad in the room. It allows you to build your own Macros which minimizes time spent typing and makes it one touch SOAP notes. I have been very happy with Dr. Chrono and there continuous work to improve the program such as e-scripts that has worked wonderfully for me. Thanks Dr. Chrono

Best EHR. Simple to use and efficient.

Exactly what you want, easy to use, and awesome billing features!!!. This is eactly what I needed. It puts all the essential info right in front of me like SOAP notes, prescribing history, etc. and some of the relatively simple features like having the picture of the patient in the corner are amazingly helpful (hate to admit it, but managing 3 patient at a time, we've all picked up the wrong chart), now you never have to worry about it ebcause the patient's picture is right in front of you. This software's power is beyond the iPad as well. The iPad app works perfectly with the DrChrono front desk interface, so the superbill is electronically transfered to the admin immediate after I see the patient, and the software even cautions them against modifier overuse!! Would be difficult to go back to the old paper superbill now. I just bring my iPad between my two offices.

CRNP-F.. I have used four different EMR,s over the past 5 years. Dr. chrono is definitely the best and easiest I have e eR encountered. T he program is updated frequently with very helpful changes. Requests for changes to the EMR are taken and often implemented. The changes occur quickly not over months to years. The staff is always helpful and knowledgable and available even after the initial set up. The program is logical so you can figure out some processes just by thinking rather than through computerese. 2011 I now can look up patient information on my IPhone when they call with questions - eligibility and labs can be looked up from the site - e-prescribing is simple and interaction checks a breeze - I can use square for payments with my iphone which can also be linked to the dr chrono billing - I use another program at someone else's office and there is just no comparison to the dr chrono program - I honestly don,t know why anyone would get anything else 2012 2013 Still amazing with great support-

iPad Perfecto. I have been on the hunt for an app that will allow me the freedom to custom design tools to meet my needs in clinical counseling. This app exceeds my expectations! I have created several templates tailor-made to the type of counseling I am engaged in: individual, couples, and/or family. The comprehensive platform allows me immediate access to whatever information I need or function I or my staff need to perform: clinical notes, insurance billing, etc... Be prepared for the time you will need initially to learn the system and template design aspect. However, their team is "Johnny on the spot" to assist you. In addition, they have numerous video tutorials to walk you through the processes. It lacks a 5-star due to the price packages they currently offer. Some of the features I don't need come in the lower plans while a couple of the ones I could use are in the higher plans. I hope they consider revamping the plans. Also, it the program is designed with the medical model concept, including meaningful use objectives. This does not apply to me professionally. I would like to see a design for professionals in clinical counseling who follow best-practice objectives. DrChrono is off to a great start. With feedback from their users perhaps they can make the program more appealing from customized profession standpoint and fee packages that allow users to select the features they want.

Caution. There are bugs. They will disrupt your workflow and put you behind. I submitted a trouble ticket. Two weeks later my EHR is still broken. Spend a little extra and go with one of the bigger names in the business. Trust me.

The Future Of Health Care Is Here!!!. After searching & searching for the right Electronic Health Records (EHR) Software for the last 2 years, I finally came across a product that delivers more than any other available option - bar none - out there today. I used the free version of Dr Chrono, & then purchased the Dr. Chrono monthly package a short while after. To my amazement, I was very quickly able to put together a complete & sufficient health records system that fit my needs in no time! The Dr Chrono team reached out to me, assisted, took care of, & guided all of my needs & questions within minutes. The entire Dr. Chrono team is there for any Dr. in any specialty 24/7. Don't even get me started on the iPad integration...It's unbelievable!!! I was a good Dr. before Dr Chrono, now, I feel like I'm becoming an exceptional one! Make the right choice & get Dr Chrono for your practice! You will be overwhelmingly pleased. - Dr. Ray DiBartolomeo

Awesome and wonderful. Dr Chrono has the ability to Bill, telemedicine patient reminders company integration Customer Service is prompt and precise.

Where it's Good it Excels, Where It's Not Good It's Horrible. Multiple modes for note creation on iPad focused interface: customizable templates, text macros, very accurate voice recognition / transcription are some of it's pluses. Built-in FAX out capability directly from the application at no extra cost is a wonderful feature as well. Most grave problem, however, is a very buggy e-prescribing interface that has recurrent connectivity issues with the app, especially with e-refills. An almost fatal design flaw is the puzzling lack of display of critical information about prescription written electronically. There is no display of the date of rx, dispense amount, number of refills, and destination pharmacy on the iPad app. Although all of this information but the destination pharmacy can be viewed via a web portal, trying to use the iPad app to accurately manage refill requests is simply not possible at this point. Other areas of concern include a complete absence of a usable intrapractice messaging from within the app and no availability to interface directly with commercial reference laboratories at this point. This is an excellent clinical note writing tool, but lacks critical features needed to be a complete full-service EHR at this point. The developer staff seem pretty responsive, so maybe in a couple of releases it will be a five star, comprehensive app

Kyle Ploehn PA-C. Easy to use, efficient, easy to learn Have used 5 different EMRs during my career and this is likely the best I have encountered.

Top notch program ...SO detailed yet easy to use!. Thank you DrChrono for actually making my job easier! Taking patient chart notes is a joy and breeze, for once, and absolutely streamlined perfectly to allow for me, my billing team, the insurance companies AND my patients to communicate efficiently, precisely and effectively. And can I just say: your e-billing is the BEST EVER!! No more wondering where my claims are from medical billing companies who drop the ball or overcharge me for services you guys have streamlined into a natural and simple system that works. Thank you DrChrono staff, techs and designers for this awesome program and system that truly makes the business portion of running my office fun again!

Terrible EHR. Crashes all the time. Customer support is impossible to work with. Lock you in to yearly contracts.

AVOID THIS COMPANY. This company is awful in all the most important ways. The software itself is tedious and takes way more time than they put on to do notes. Their customer service is also horrendous. My company has literally waited over 6 months for answers to problems. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS!

Read Before You Buy. I have used this app for over 5 years to complete all my clinical notes at our practice. Last year we encountered an issue where – over time – a clinical note with the same digital signature and same time stamp had different clinical data. These notes were shared outside our office to other professionals and to the patients before we caught the data issue. The best analogy I can come up with is to imagine you are buying a house and you sign your contract online. Subsequently, the realtor calls and says the computer program generated two different contracts with your exact same digital signature. Now apply this scenario to medical data. Drchrono’s response was nothing less than abhorrent. They admitted on our first call with their first of at least three attorneys that other practices were impacted. They repeatedly started most conversations with some form of statement that they were not responsible to fix data problems per the service agreement. After one-year and almost $80,000 in legal bills we got our notes corrected as best our legal team thought possible per CMS guidelines. We added an amendment to each corrupt note and notified all patients. In retaliation for not signing an agreement to not report the problem to the OCR, drchrono gave us 30-day’s notice and shut off our service. All I can recommend is to read the service agreement. It is egregious and they really mean it when they say there is no warranty that “ANY ERRORS IN THE SERVICE WILL BE CORRECTED.” Second, make sure you have a data integrity rider in your malpractice policy. Choosing an EMR is one of the most difficult decisions to make for a medical practice. Using this app literally cost tens of thousands of dollars in legal bills and hundreds (and I mean hundreds) of additional hours beyond the typical 12-hour days. If you happen to be reading this and are a current drchrono user, I would suggest you contact drchrono and ask if your notes were impacted or altered in any way without your knowledge.

Not impressed. I submitted a request that the app keeps crashing - with yet a fix. Spend a little more money on a software, you will actually get what you pay for.

Highly recommended. I researched ad nauseum for the perfect EHR for my new practice. I LOVE this EHR. What I love: 1. developing my own templates allows for a personalized program, 2.CUSTOMER SERVICE IS INCREDIBLE - rapidly responsive, helpful & friendly. 3. Able to schedule patients and access their charts from the iPad, 4. iCloud based so I don't need a huge memory. 5. Macro buttons are great shortcuts. What I don't like: 1. time consuming as they need to develop a way to copy from one template to the next, 2. I can't print a SuperBill from the iPad (or at least I haven't figured that out yet but in all fairness, I haven't asked anyone yet). I highly recommend this system - may be time consuming up front but saves time in the long run!

Give it a try. The iPad, this app and these developers are first rate. I am not an Apple fan by nature but the iPad2 and this app is undeniably superior to anything available for use in the exam room. The prescription writer is superior to Allscripts, the program itself is affordable, conformable and user-friendly and the support staff attentive and capable. Many of the apps written for apple devices are sophomoric, poorly written and poorly supported. This app is not one of them. The voice-to-text program is not as useful and not nearly as accurate as Dragon Naturally Speaking 10 which I have used a lot. However, given the track record of DrChrono to improve it's product, I suspect that won't be for long. I give the product a 5 for it's quality currently and a 10 to the developers for their Ability, Affability and Availability (the three A's of success in both medicine and business). I think Apple ought to give these guys a 100 million dollar development grant and watch how quickly the medical profession adopts the iPad as the standard device for an EMR in the clinicl, exam room and hospital. The guys who are developing this program know what they are doing and they know how to use beta testers. I need to tell you I am not a beta tester and I have no financial interest in the company. I am simply a standard type physician in a two man practice looking for a less expensive, better mousetrap. DrChrono is it.

Reduced quality. Frequent slowness and outage. Failure to save notes. Lack of support. When i started with them was much better but i guess have expanded too fast without infrastructure.

Amazing functionality. Sure, I don't use this for everything that it can do (faxes, billing, ect.) but I am an athletic trainer working privately with patients, and it is EXACTLY what I needed. I can customize my forms to make my notes amazingly quick, and it makes a professional-looking PDF for me to keep in my notes. I'm not positive how it'll work when I have more than just a few clients, but I have VERY high hopes for this app. If it can support a lot of patients, I will surely use it when I work in my athletic training room as well. GREAT app, and it's free!! (unless you want all the crazy advanced features...)

Wonderful App for Health Care Professionals. I am a psychotherapist, and this app has been the best thing for my practice. It is HIPAA compliant and has allowed me to go paperless. It manages my appointments, helps me keep track of billing, I can write all my notes, plus make up my own templates. It even sends appointment reminder emails to my patients! It is user friendly and easy to work with. The companion app, OnPatient allows patients to complete their intake forms on my iPad, without having access to anyone else's records, and everything gets synched to their file. I highly recommend this app!

angel4909. I started with the free Version It is pretty much easy to manage and to start with , anyway is limited in the use but is an adequate and easy to understand program

Glitchy. Desktop version is great that's why I give it three stars... The app on the other hand is super glitchy... I've been using this EHR for a few years and for the past year, the EHR app has become the worse thing to work on. I have bought 4 different iPads in the past two years thinking the iPads were getting old and that's why the app was not working, but that is obviously not the case, because I still have issues. Very slow app, I lock a note now and I go back on the app and the note shows unlocked, plus a bunch of other stuff that I don't have time to mention now... anyways I am shopping around for another system.

Love this product. This product is the best value around. Also very easy to use and customize.
