Can’t login. I’ve been staying at one of IHG’s suites for about 4.5 months so I’ve built up my reward points big time. I’m about to move and travel across the country so I decided to download this app so I can login and have an easier time booking my next stay. Unfortunately the app is glitching and doesn’t let me sign into my account. It looks like everyone else is having the same problem. I decided to try going onto their website and sign in that way and it seems their website doesn’t want to let you sign in. It keeps going to join the rewards program instead straight to existing members login. I hope the developer/person in charge for both the website and this app fixes this problem fast. This makes it difficult for returning customers to want to use your company again.

App does not guarantee room will be there when you arrive. Unfortunately, there is a serious flaw when using the App. In our case, we booked with the app and received a confirmation number. There were no rooms when we arrived at the hotel AND they would not refund the charge due to “not knowing how to do it”. I called the toll free number to explain to IHG what happened, and they said the hotel had to refund the charge, even though it was their Corporate app that took my charge in the first place. I couldn’t believe the finger pointing between the corporate entity and the franchisee. In any case, it was a serious blow to my confidence IHG and laughable in this age of computerized inventories. The room should have been there. Use the app at your own peril. Once booked, you’re at the mercy of the local hotel of whether the room is really there and if you’ll be treated fairly. Corporate has no power to protect you.

Danbury I-84 location. I have always had the best experience at all of the ihG hotel locations, especially Danbury I-84, they are always very welcoming, accommodating, and friendly!!! I will be in Danbury this weekend, but my usual location doesn’t have availability, so i will be staying at the Bethel location. I have never been there before and I am really hoping that it is just as great of a hotel!!!? Im hoping that it is not further away from where i have to be the next morning of all my stays? Plus, the I-84 location has my headphones that I accidentally left behind at my last stay there and i was planning on just getting them at my next stay. If anyone happens to have some input on the Bethel location, id love to hear it. Thanks so very much! Sincerely, Heidi Baird

Best hotel group ever!!❤️. So I never joined a hotel group until now,IHG is the best ,so many benefits so much to offer.. The extra amenities ,the things they offer me are Bar none the best .I even got a Chase platinum premier IHG card which is the IHG premier which will give you platinum status immediately. Honestly I could not ask for more, they are the best. Thank you IHG. From the early check-in’s to the late checkouts to the food and bar credits, I could not ask for more!!!! If you want to get crazy , get the ambassador membership!!!!!!! I did, well worth it, this is not your average membership this is for the elite style!! Just an average guy giving his own opinion I hope you appreciate it!!!

They don’t solve problem just kick the ball.. Whatever a elite level you are, when u met problem, nobody are there to solve the problem. I am a platinum membership holder. I called the reservation center and made a reservation for my friend used points. I told the agent I won’t present there and provide all my friend’s information also ID number. When my friend arrived, he is rejected to check in by the front desk because they didn’t find any information on the system. I called back to reservation center then every time they said they cannot solve it and let me contact some else. My friend is confused and I feel embarrassed. The hotel said if the reservation center can sent them a email, it will be fine. However the reservation center refused to do that. TBH It’s time to consider another brand.

Holiday Inn Express in Murphysboro IL. I spoke directly with Molly Surman the manager at the hotel regarding a billing issue. She made a promise to me that she correct the problem (to my face). She apparently lied. I left a note for her on my bill asking her to correct the problem as she promised, no response. I called her the day after. She promised me again that the problem would be resolved and she would email me to confirm. Again, she did not keep her promise. I called her back. So would not take my call or call me back after I left my phone number. What terrible service and speaks loudly of the lack of integrity of the hotel and horrible service.

Less than thrilled.. This app (and the whole IHG thing) is not all they make it out to be. First, I am a “Diamond Elite” member. According to the hype, I get all kinds of perks - NOT. About half the time, I can call the hotel direct and get a better price if I have the time so the app is handy for that. I’ve even had people at the counter tell me that they can give me a better price. Second, any time I use points to get a room, the rooms are VERY limited or non-existent. Third, other “perks” are equally as useless - “Free room upgrades”, for example. To get one, you have to wait until you’re 24 days out to try and get it. Good luck! After they make you wait, then it’s, “Oh, we’re so sorry. All those rooms are sold out.” Yeah. Thanks for nothing. If you travel a lot like I do, you can get hundreds of thousands of points for free rooms but don’t count on any perks. They are just good PR talk.

Super Easy, Super Helpful. I’m not in the habit of leaving reviews for, well, anything really. But I wanted to leave one here because I’m d how happy I am with the app and IHG in general. I don’t stay in a hotel all that often but when I do have to it’s for work and I don’t always know where I will need to stop for the night. And that’s where this app is SO helpful! It is very easy to navigate and so far I have been able to find exactly what I need and unfortunately it tends to be at the last minute. Last night was a prime example of that. I drive truck and as I was driving south on I-5 south of Tacoma WA traffic came to a complete stop due to a really wreck. As I watched what time I had left to drive slowly disappear I was able to jump on the app and find a room in Lacey WA at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites, which is a wonderful place to stay by the way, so with that taken care of I was able to focus on the task of hand without any distractions. Thank you so much for the app!!

Difficult to Find “Book Stay”. The app is frustrating when trying to make a reservation. I can search for a location. I can see availability. I can look at and choose a room (1 bed, 2 beds, Suite, etc). I can select a discount. What I can NOT find is the actual place on the app to BOOK the stay with all the information that I entered. Instead I must use the website - which by the way, clearly states “BOOK”. Another frustration is the portrait orientation of the app. I would greatly appreciate the app being able to rotate to landscape view. Honestly, rather annoying when I am using my Bluetooth keyboard. The app is ok for finding an established reservation and giving information about the upcoming stay.

IHG Membership NOT Worth the Frustration!. IHG will tell you that you must reset the password to your account to keep it “secure”, but they won’t ever send the password reset link— it’s not in the junk or spam or any place else. So, you’ll chat with their bot for 30 mins until you finally get a real human (allegedly). This supposed human will ask you for your IHG membership number, and when you switch screens to copy this number, it will disconnect you from the chat you waited 30 mins to have. Frankly, it’s all a conspiracy to make you cave and book one of their overpriced rooms without the membership discount, because they never intended to give it to you in the first place. You’ll read this and think I’m just disgruntled, or IHG will remove this bad review. We, the penny pinching hoards, are relegated to the ranks of “consumer”, we have no recourse, we have one job— to hand over way more cash than is justified. If there is anywhere else you can stay— stay there. IHG is just a lesson in getting jerked around.

Holiday inn is awesome. Holiday inn or IHG hotels are the only hotels I ever stay at, because of the perks and cleanliness, but if I could change anything about them, I would put a Restaurant/bar in the Express hotels too and I would make sure every hotel has the little store with more options of drinks, snacks, toothpaste, ext. and the most important thing… ICE CREAM! Lots of ICE CREAM! Nobody likes to leave at 11:00 just to go get a snack, especially if they can get it there! Plus Holiday inn would make more money and everyone would be a winner! But other than that they are awesome!

Clean rooms. the whole hotel is covid friendly. There is a woman namd Rita at the front desk who is absolutely amazing. Super friendly and will take care of you with the upmost respect and I know under that spongebob mask she always has a smile on her face. Keep up the great work Thanks the Calhoun’s eekend for the last month and I must say the rooms are excellent. They are clean and the whole hotel is covid friendly. Good ones and bad ones. I want to start by saying, you have the best prices and I love all the hotels I’ve stayed so far. They acknowledge me as a member and over all my experiences have been good. But, there has been a couple of occasions where you made mistakes and even have a case number but, nothing got resolved because no one bother to call and help me. I’ve traveled to Mexico and stayed at your resorts and wrote 3 times the same review and the hotel never approved the review to go public. It was a bad review because that’s what I got, bad service. I will continue to stay at your hotels but, I hope I never encountered a problem because you do not follow through. I foresee lawsuits if you continue to ignore customers complaints.

Give this some thought.. Lots of praise-2 concerns I have been a member for many years. I get reasonably good service via phone- much dependent on the agent. All of my stays have been A+. Great venues and great treatment by the staff at various properties. Two issues need attention. Often when I am using points or free weekend night, the pay night(s) are billed at rates higher than the posted rates for the same rooms on the same nights at the same hotels. This smells of greed and unfairness. Secondly and most disturbing is the now more than a year old change in the free night award. I am not concerned that the points awarded have been diminished. That is a business decision. However , not allow us to take the points and buy up additional points to stay at a property of the caliber we choose is actually maddening. What is the harm? Otherwise, you are forcing us to stay at lower quality properties or entirely lose out on a perk we earned.

Excellent Service, Clean, Affordable. Overall, the last 8 years of being a Club Member has been a GREAT experience!!! Especially employees over the phone, very courteous and helpful. Ever since COVID, the service at different hotels has been unpredictable. Many experiences with new employees who didn't always know what they were suppose to do! It does not bother me to the extent that I would not chose one of the IHG properties. It can be very frustrating but I do understand. I think IHG hotel choices are outstanding! I love all the options!

Disappointed Spire Member. IHG has become a huge disappointment and this coming from a Spire member who has invested a considerable amount of time with them. I’ve been trying to track down the status of my Reward Nights Faster, but that’s virtually impossible apparently. I don’t know why IHG has to make it such a secret to find. Secondly as a Spire member you’d think that my stay preferences would be at least somewhat honored, but nope I’m usually on a lower floor and close to the elevator... exactly the opposite of what I prefer. Thirdly when I do stay at a Hilton or Marriott I get a room that matches my preference and almost always upgraded with just basic status. Lastly it’s really nice that Hilton lets you pick the room location of your choice within the category you booked. This is amazing and makes you feel like you’re preferences are valued and they want to empower you to have options. It’s been a enjoyable 12yr run with IHG, but I see my time coming to am end with them over simple oversights constantly by IHG.

Locked my account for no reason. I had almost 250,000 with the ability to cash in for even more (roughly 400k total) points because i stay in hotels a lot for work and i’m always being put up in ihg hotels… went to look at my account a few weeks ago and i was logged out and i couldn’t log back in. i called several times about it, and they always transfer me and then hang up on me mid transfer. has happened four times now! so i decided to try and email them and same thing, i would get one email back and then never again. very frustrating to deal with. zero accountability with this company. Make sure to check out and explore other options if you’re trying to use rewards.

There needs to be a serious update. I use IHG for business purposes. The functionality is inconsistent. I have corporate expenses that I need to report on a weekly basis and it would be helpful if the emailing your bill function could be consistent. One week it works, one week it doesn’t. Judging by the other unsatisfied reviews, this app is part of your brand that you should be giving attention with urgency. You’re spending money to upgrade the rooms, there needs to be attention towards your online customers as well. I hope that you take these reviews seriously. These folks (including myself) is what keeps you in business.

Terrible customer service. I would recommend not wasting your time with IHG . Their app has multiple glitches and their customer service is non existent . I hold Spire Elite membership with IHG and after my recent issues and their lack of assistance I will no longer be traveling with IHG or any of their properties . If you have any type of issues with one of your stays IHG proves to be completely worthless . Most of the time they won’t even reply when you reach out to them and when they do they say “ IHG cannot get involved with property issues , you will have to work it out with the property directly “ . Also if you leave a low star review through the app they will refuse to post it as they only post the higher star rated reviews , thus showing how dishonest they truly are . I have also reached out multiple times on why they refuse to post my reviews and have not received a response . IHG is completely dishonest and worthless . If you look up IHG’s national rating it is very low and a majority of their reviews are negative . Also if you compare them to other reward programs they again rank low . There are many other options that not only have better rewards , but actually care about their customers . I would give IHG zero stars if possible

Major Security issues. I enjoy the ease of use of the app and customer service was incredibly helpful, but I do have major concerns with the security of this app. This app for the iPhone will not log users out when the password is changed. If anyone else is logged into your account and you change your password, they will still have full access to your account. My ex was logged into my account and was able to cancel a three room reservation in Detroit and book four rooms in Los Angeles. Customer service was able to cancel the new reservations and return my points. While I was waiting on the phone, I changed my password again. The reward points were restored to my account and immediately my ex was able to book 5 more rooms in Los Angeles area. The fraud department confirmed that it was from a trusted device, so it was not fraud. I had to create an entirely new account and have the points transferred, while the existing account was frozen. I spent about three hours on the phone. To confirm this, I logged into my coworkers account and they changed the password. I still had full access to their account after the password was successfully changed.

IHG worst hotel group. I am a platinum elite member and use different groups to book since i travel so much w/my job. IHG hotels esp holiday in express’s in particular are the worst experiences i’ve had. IHG will have me on the phone for hours explaining multiple times promising to help fix major billing issues, promising I hear from someone from the hotel within 48 hours promising if not, then they’re going to help me in this phone calls people hanging up on you. You can’t understand what they say. They’re accents too strong you request a manager there’s never one at the end nothing gets resolved. There’s no customer service, & don’t value your customers. I agree with another review Hilton is 10 times better and it’s not that much more and they’re nicer. seems like they let anybody be an IHG or Wyndham or choice hotels franchise these days and the pictures are heavily misleading have the time and that they steal from you and say one prize charger another and I she doesn’t do anything but say that what they’re gonna do and not do it, so I’m done with IHG.

Good luck. I haaate this app. When it works, it works fine enough. But good luck finding it working without any glitches, error msgs or just plain not at all. Todays encounter, trying to quickly get a room reserved WITHOUT having to get on the phone (you know, the confines of having to do this at work) but no, ‘we can’t process your request at this time’. Well, why??? Your issue? Did I do something wrong? Poor internet connection?? So I leave my office so I can make the private call to the actual hotel. “Oh, well we don’t have that room available, that’s probably why it didn’t work.” Ok, so I’ll go back to my office and try for a room that IS available. Besides, I want to do a cash/points split and the hotel can’t do that, HAS to be online. I try again and nope. Still ‘can’t process your request at this time.’ I have to leave my office AGAIN, call the lady AGAIN but she at least remembers to tell me the good news that they can’t offer any points purchases. Well great. I’m just being accommodated at every turn here. Thank goodness they have an app. for that. 🙄🙄🙄🙄

Don’t leave your card information on IHG app. This app is easy to use. In fact it’s too easy to use. I stay at hotels a lot for work and I had my credit card information saved on the app. I was looking at a hotel and went to swipe out of the app and accidentally hit reserve on the hotel I’d been looking at. Without asking me for any sort of confirmation to reserve a hotel the app made a reservation with the card I had on file. When I called to see if anything could be done about the reservation I was forwarded to someone trying to sell me a timeshare. I ended up losing a deposit on a hotel that I hadn’t intended to reserve. I used to love IHG hotels, they always seem like the safe way to go, but I won’t be staying with them anymore. They have predatory practices and are only interested in the money they make not in their customer’s experience.

I’m not sure if it’s the app or the company. I am staying at ihg hotels as a group rate for some dance competitions. As much as I like lower prices, their apps and websites are a big fail. I can never sign in using Touch ID. It takes me right to the sign in page where I have to put in my password and I have the “enable Touch ID” box checked every time. The app will not let me “associate reservation with account” and I get the message “system temporarily unavailable” for months. I have to call or email every time so I get my points. It also won’t let me change my reservation on the app or website. Every time I try it says the same error message or “could not process at this time. Try again later.” Is saving a couple dollars for a place to lay your head worth all this?

IHG Membership. As a delighted member, I have consistently relied on IHG to cater to my needs as a valued customer. Over the past seven or eight years, I have extensively utilized various hotel apps, and I can confidently assert that the level of service provided by IHG surpasses not only that of other hotel apps but also many other services and companies in general. My unwavering loyalty to IHG is a direct result of their exceptional commitment to customer satisfaction. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the diligent staff and esteemed partners associated with IHG for their unwavering dedication to ensuring customer delight. To anyone who may be perusing this message, I highly recommend downloading the IHG app, signing up, and indulging in the superb service it offers. Rest assured, once you experience it firsthand, you will find no need to seek any alternative. Embrace the pleasure of exceptional service with IHG! Enjoy!

Customer service needs serious work.. I use IHG for business sometimes. Depends on the price of the hotels I’m seeing wherever I’m going. The app is decent. It has a lot of screens where the words are cut off and you can’t see enough to know what option you’re selecting. Where IHG really falls short is if you have to call them. Everyone is nice but it’s obviously an overseas call center with people who barely speak English. Combine that with heavy static noise on the line and it’s pretty frustrating. So much so it’s driven me to other brands with USA based customer service. If they would work on that and dial in their app, it would be top tier. As it stands, it’s middle of the pack only on a good day. I can’t recommend it as a “go to” app, so keep looking.

Beware. Beware of the fine print when using this App. It claims that canceling your reservation before a stated date/time will result in no charge. But the fact is that they will keep your money for no services provided while legitimate cancellations are refunded in points only (in our case we had replaced the initial reservation of one night at a hotel with an extra night at the same hotel just seconds later which we honored). We were ‚double charged’ for one night, but IHG does not see it that way because we were reimbursed with points, but our money is ‚gone’. Do not bother calling Customer Care neither since it cost me being on hold for over an hour and explaining my case to three different representatives without prevail. Poor Customer ‚Care‘; deceiving App.

The app isn’t user friendly. It’s horrible, this app needs a major overhaul. Can’t book handicapped rooms very easily. Many times we’re stuck with a hearing room only. Granted they help with our hearing impairments. That doesn’t give the necessary grab bars at toilet and tub. We function fine without a hearing room, not so with the mobility rooms. And the “messages” are almost impossible to erase. It’s like erasing them and then they pop back up. They need a better program or programmer to make these things smoother for the members. Perhaps an “erase all” button to erase all 50 messages would be a nice start. And another two buttons to switch one for physical mobility room and a separate one for hearing room like all of the other chains now have.

Normal!. I have been a member of the IHG club for 19 years. I stay over 250 nights a year in IHG brands across the United States. It amazes me that after more than a year of this pandemic mess - many of the hotels do not provide more than a grab and go breakfast and IF you do get more than that, then it is not the full normal menu, do not provide the laundry bags but yet will provide you with a trash bag, don’t want you using an ink pen somebody else uses but with their gloves on - will touch your DL and CC with the same gloves they just touched the previous customer’s cards with, etc!!!! This is ridiculous! I guess we are supposed to believe that COVID only attacks certain items on certain people at certain times!!!! When are y’all planning to open up and provide the customer service that we have been accustomed to receiving and enjoyed over the past 19 years? Because with the lack of services came higher rates. None of it makes sense.

Great way to travel. Traveling for a living can get very tiring, trying to find a room within your budget can really wear you out with all the booking options now. I have been using IHG almost exclusively the past 3 years and it has made my life much much easier in this aspect of travel. I always get the best rates, the point system is amazing ( you can use points to buy gift cards, to buy online goods, towards airline miles and also to take your family on vacation with few if any restrictions. They treat you nicely, free gifts at check in for Diamond members, always say thank you for being a Diamond member at check in, give you free upgrades, work with you if you have to leave early for things out of your control, free upgrades WiFi ,let you check out later with no penalty ( don’t abuse it) and the best part… It’s affordable, the rooms are nice, clean and spacious, a free hot breakfast which is about 2 steps above continental bfast at a hotel in this price range. If I had one small issue ( not enough light in the rooms for me to do paperwork) easily fixed by getting yourself a plug in or battery light and use it. The website is very easy to use to navigate and gives you every option. Overall it’s saved me lots of time and moneyz. Highly recommend for people who travel for a living and are watching their budget but don’t want to stay in a cheap, dirty motel.

Saved our family vacation!. We cannot say enough fabulous things about this property! We had a horrific experience at an Airbnb property in Myrtle to the point where we feared for our family’s safety. We were so lucky this Holiday Inn had a room for us as the property is beautiful, safe, and has the greatest employees. Everyone was so helpful to the point of finding us these last minute rooms and accommodating our family so we could get rooms nearby each other. The food at Saltaire was great and Sherry (plus the overnight person and really everyone) at the front desk was a total lifesaver - customer service extraordinaire! Thank you IHG for saving our families vacation as we were about to head home 5 days early with lost money from Airbnb until we found you in Surfside. We will definitely be returning!!!

Most annoying bug that needs to be fixed!. First of all, you can’t log in on iPhone’s. Neither the app or web browser on the phone will work. Sometimes will give you an error, but most of the time nothing happens; like you didn’t press the sign in button. Resetting password doesn’t work. Secondly, customer service.... you call for some help or insight on what could be going on, and if the representatives supposably can’t understand what the issue is and just try to direct you to reservations. This is finished by them trying to sell you a vacation package pretty aggressively. Ya, that’s exactly what customers want when calling customer service... I’m sorry, “customer care”. What a joke. Revert back to previous update for the sake of the hundreds of other complaints about this issue below mine

Tom Flocco. IHG is an outstanding corporation that’s always ready to meet your travel needs worldwide in a prompt, courteous and professional manner. I have been staying at IHG properties exclusively for 16 years. They’re a well-run operation! You’ll find thousands of available properties in the USA in every state. I always get a great night’s sleep in each IHG hotel in which I stay. This is also a tremendous convenience and opportunity to take advantage of IHG’s outstanding and world-recognized rewards program. Their phone app is something I could not do without when traveling. It organizes my travel dates and properties while providing a convenient map with nearby restaurants, attractions and business. I look forward to travel because I know IHG is right there with me—either a phone call away or via their terrific app. Join them. You’ll find it’s well worth it.

IHG needs to step their game up.. Just made a multi-day Christmas time reservation at InterContinental of San Francisco Mark Hopkins. I have had the IHG app for the better part of a year now. I was attempting to use the app to reserve some activities locally for my wife child and I to do while enjoying our stay. I’ve ran into more problems with this app than any I have EVER used. I haves tried making adjustments to the guests I’m bringing when attempting to make reservations but ever single time it resorts back to just 2 adults. Then after Dozens and dozens of attempts I got it to take 2 Adults 1 Child. Then went to check out for a San Francisco Grand Tour and Alcatraz Tour for the three of us. Filled out all of the pertinent blocks of info including passport info, ie; Passport Numbers, DOB for all parties all credit card info and on then it failed to take it just says “Book Now” at the bottom bar. Scrolled up and down to check and ensure that all info was correct and filled out it was. Hours of checking, clicking and patience and to no avail I have not one thing booked for my trip. Starting to rethink this InterContinental Ambassador and points program. IHG has really got to step it’s game up.

Lost reservation. I’ve been an IHG member since 1996. Made a reservation in January 2023 for a week in May 2023. I regularly check the app to verify the reservation and all was fine until today, April 23, 2023 when the reservation was “not found”. Called IHG directly and they told me the reservation was canceled on March 30th. Obviously I didn’t do that. Finally called the hotel directly, (earlier attempts went unanswered). They said the reservation was still valid and no cancellation was showing in their system, but IHG corporate showed cancelled?? They said it must be a glitch in the app-not a good thing. Deleted app and reinstalled but still not showing reservation. What good is the app if the information is wrong???

App Works Great but watch those charges…. I have never stayed in a Holiday Inn hotel till 4th of July weekend, they’re very clean, great customer service, great breakfast, but the way they charge you is really off…. Let me give you an example of what happen with me… I reserved a room on the app at $151 for 1 night plus taxes it’s like around $169 or so, when you click reserve they won’t charge you until you show up in person, when they charge me instead of charging me $169 they charge me $202 (saw in my credit card app), I didn’t say anything cause I know they always make adjustments before you check out, but then they charge me $178 instead of the $169 and reimburse the $202 they originally charge me for…. So after my 3rd night I stayed with Holiday Inn in different locations my credit card declined cause I reach my credit card limit cause of so many different charges on hold and reimbursement, I don’t like how they manage their charges is like they don’t know what to charge you for ………I don’t like using my Debt card cause I knew this could happen and the banks take about 3-5 business days to reimburse your money 💰…. This was my experience with Holiday Inn, just keep an eye out on your charges for sure…. And if you like lots of money to be on hold go ahead and stay in Holiday Inn when you travel 😂😂

Mr Johnson. Holiday inn is very respectable to your needs. If anything seems to be wrong or off they will most definitely fix it the best they can. We was in Ann Arbor at a holiday inn they lost power from like 7pm till 8 am next day. They came let us know what was going on and reimbursed the room. We stayed at a sleep inn and they had a fire issue with fire trucks outside coming in alarms going crazy for like 2 hrs at midnight or 1 in morning we never was told anything. Never mentioned if was actually a fire or if medical. Be nice for them to get with the program and talk to people.

overall appreciate IHG’s commitment to improving the app. IHG’s hotel app is one of the best out there, and where each update actually does serve up what it claims: improvements to its previous versions. Assuming the app development team really does read reviews in order to get input for future iterations: is there any chance to make a small update to the ACCOUNT ACTIVITY section, whereby it shows more clearly whether the points transaction is POSITIVE (added to the account) versus NEGATIVE (being subtracted from the account)? It makes for a more clear high level visual understanding of points movement, without having to read each individual transaction description. I would add the fifth star if this were to get updated! Otherwise, props to the app dev team.

App is now broken. I’ve used this app for years & it’s been great. But, the last version will not allow me to login to my account. I can login just fine through the web browser. Nothing else has changed on my 11 pro max except doing regular OS updates. Having to navigate through a web browser is getting old & you may seriously loose a multi decade customer over this. But after speaking to “ customer service “ about this three times, I’m not sure you care at all. Please fix your app. Update: The app seems to be functioning and my CC info hasn’t been stolen for 6 months now (which is a great run). So, if your willing to spend a few hours on the phone fighting for the points that you’re entitled to, with an over seas help desk who treats you like YOU are trying to scam THEM, this is the rewards plan for you! Seriously, check your points like a hawk. Especially if you take advantage of any of their special points rates or promotion offers. They count on you not noticing. It’s a garbage rewards plan but if you force them to do what they should, it can be worth while.

Terrible experience. One if the worst transactions I have ever made. I made an reservation Thru the app. I showed up at the hotel and they had no record of it. Have them the confirmation and they could not find it. Told me they would cancel the reservation and put me in as a walk-in. I said no because IHG would charge me for not using the reservation. I insisted on calling IHG which I did. After much conversation I was escalated to a supervisor. She confirmed the problem talked to the clerk and it was resolved but alas I ended up billed by the hotel and again by IHG anyway. Double billed. With heroic effort I was able to get a phone number of IHG. then they proceeded to tell me yes there was a mixup but has to be solved by hotel not IHG. SPENT ANOTHER half hour on phone and got a case number. Passing the buck back and forth. Blaming it on the other guy but making me responsible for following up to see if it is fixed. It is almost unbelievable for a customer to be treat this way. A better answer would be @ I will solve this problem for you and call you when it is resolved or with 72 hours if it isn’t. Bad guest relations.

Has some bugs. Great app but it has some issues. Every time I go to the app even though I have my remember sign on in enabled, I still have to sign on every single time. Also my canceled reservations still show as active reservations when you go onto the app. And then other times there is just an error in the in the app will just not work. The app still does all the normal functions as far as for booking a reservation and shows Great hotel options but it has a lot of glitches that just really make it inconvenient. If you have thousands of members who are loyal to you I think you should work a little bit harder to make sure that everything is easy and accessible.

No ability to download receipts for expensing. The app works fine for the usual ability to show your stays and upcoming reservations, as well as search for hotels and make reservations. It lacks digital key which obviously requires infrastructure enhancement at the hotel, though it’s becoming common among other brands. My biggest annoyance is the total inability to download a proper hotel folio/receipt from a past stay. If you travel for business, this is mandatory. Their only hotel bill is an html version with ads and nonsense on it, which is totally unsuitable for upload to Concur or other expensing platforms, not to mention inappropriate for documentation purposes in general.

Be careful When Using This App. Be sure that you check before booking on this app that the description of a Hotel’s location is accurate. I was misled about a Hotel‘s proximity to the Greensboro Airport, and then insured by the hotel I mistakenly booked at using the app, that my cancellation fee would be waived. All I had to do was call the manager of the indigo hotel in Winston Salem and he would waive it, according to the front desk. Well, the manager did not do that, and by the way, even balked at his hotels association with Holiday Inn. I’ve been on the phone on and off with a Holiday Inn all day, and I still can’t get any reasonable resolution. Proceed with caution when using this app because if there is a mistake, don’t expect customer service to help you out. What you might get is your wallet $175 lighter after having to deal with a snarky hotel manager and the customer service team oh thank you for being a gold member and then proceeds to ignore you. I am very disappointed, as I usually start with a Holiday Inn’s when I book business travel. And trusted this app obviously way too much.

Holiday inn express Catoosa ok. I have been a member of IHG for 17 years and am a platinum member. Me and my family have stayed at the holiday inn express in Catoosa ok several times. The hotel is clean, rooms are great and in the past all of the staff have been friendly. My family and I reserved two rooms for today and I checked in around 3 pm and asked Julie, the desk clerk if we could have our rooms next to each other. I then asked if she could switch rooms with someone that hasn’t checked in and she responded with a very sarcastic tone and sarcastic look on her face that she would try! I was very stunned about her response and said I wasn’t trying to be rude. She said you are being pushy. Really? One question and I’m being pushy! Julie is so rude and the behavior is unacceptable. Although I like this hotel why would I come back if this is how I am going to be treated. I hope the hotel owner does something about her behavior. Her bad day is not my my bad day.

App is great and so are the loyalty points. I always use the app to make my reservations. When completed, you get a confirmation number. I always take a screenshot of it as a backup to the app, but I’ve never needed it. I’ve never had a reservation lost, cancelled or overbooked using this app. Plus as part of the rewards program you can build up points for a free or discounted rate. The app will show current offers and deals. You can search cities or favorite destinations such as a theme park or aquarium and it will show you the closest hotels to that destination. I find it better to use the app then one of the big name hotel search websites where I’ve actually had them lose my reservation or overbook. Holiday Inn Express and Staybridge are our go to.. and this app makes it more convenient. If you made a reservation several weeks in advance, I recommend calling the hotel phone number which is right on your app reservation and confirming your stay.

Estimated points. The points must have been glitching on app for way over a month now they fixed it because they was tired of me complaining about why was my points so far off. App was saying one thing and it was giving another. I’m trying to figure out why should I have to calculate when your system is suppose to do it for you. Then they still didn’t give us any points for the huge misleading points and inconvenience. We spent at least $1900 to get 5,000 each week instead of getting 39,000 points each week. Like I told them that makes no since we would have just take the money and brought points especially when we could buy $1500 in points and end up with 300,000 points we already spent over $1900. It’s alright to get the 39,000 each week for the three weeks we booked it’s not alright to get 5,000 each week when it was advertised as 39,000 a week. Estimations should never be that far off.

Impossible to run a consistent search. I often search for long term stays, which would be tax-exempt. I search myriad hotels and compare prices across states. Every stinking time I change, go back to home, add a parameter, or change the rate type, it shows results with taxes and fees, which is a massive price difference, especially depending on the state. I am fed up that I cannot simply run a search without having to hit that button over and over. Fix the stupid problem. It should be a default setting. I feel like IHG was too busy getting its inept bot set up to run a functional app. I actually am a Diamond member who ended up booking another hotel where it was easier to see the price and just book.

It does reservations, but that is it. This app does not or is designed not to work when you need to cancel or modify a reservation. I am a spire elite level member an am amazed at my perceived deception of this app. If you are within an hour of the cutoff to cancel or modify a reservation, this app will suddenly have problems. I tried to cancel a reservation and the app(as every time before) suddenly isn’t working correctly. Call the number and you will have on hold until it’s too late. I tried then to modify the reservation, the app says can’t change to the new days as there are no rooms available. Funny though, start a new reservation and the site works great and yes there are rooms available on those dates. This is all very suspicious. Trying a different chain after many many years with IHG.

So easy. I’ve lost count of the number of reservations I’ve made with the app. It is the easiest thing ever. All the info I want to see is in the app, amenities with images, the reservations match my stated preferences, I can see exact addresses to be close to my accounts. I’ve literally arrived within an hour of making the reservation and the front desk is ready for me. The staff at front desk always thank me for being a member of the rewards program and recognize my level when doing so. I can check in via the app at times. Consistently convenient.

Traveling job!!!. I stay in a Holiday Inn hotel somewhere every week Monday through Thursday night. I’ve been doing this for 20 years. I always use Holiday Inn clean rooms. Nice people just a all-around great place to stay, good hot breakfast. Plenty of room to park. I’ve stayed in all the other big names hotels Holiday inn is by far the best. HANDS DOWN THE BEST!!!! OH Yeah those IHG Reward points ,, I LOVE THEM!!! I always go on the IHG App and go to the online catalog and spend my points on gift cards for Cabelas and bass pro shop. In 2021. Breakfast. As a regular intercontinental Singapore visitor I looked at the prices including breakfast ($44 per night for 2 people ) As I had points I then chose to use these to pay for the room. However it did not appear to allow me to include breakfast. This is really poor. You should be able to use points for the total stay including breakfast. If you are able to do this, the app is definitely misleading.

IHG = great. App works better than most. IHG hotel options are excellent worldwide, especially Intercontinental.

No landscape on iPad. The sign-in process has got better in the latest release which is good. The iPad version needs more work. Particular when using on an iPad Pro as it does not support landscape mode. Hence no very user friendly when using with a keyboard.

App crashing. Each time I tap a property to make a booking, the app crashes. I tried rebooting the phone and uninstalled the app and then reinstalled it but the issue still persists. Please help fixing the issue.

No Horizontal Alignment. Totally useless on an iPad/iPad Pro. Make it horizontal like every other iPad app out there...........

No attention to detail even when brought to IHGs attention…. The App ‘works’ for most normal functions but it has annoying bugs that create problems I use it at least sixty times a year. Around thirty times a year I get asked if I want to set my language preference to English. Thirty times a year I say yes, but it doesn’t retain that preference. Some links will take you to your folio for past stays - others do not. The most annoying bug is that if you need to modify a booking, (let’s say you need to change your arrival date by SHORTENING your stay by one day), the logic in the App FIRST checks if there are any rooms available, and if the hotel is booked out, it simply offers you one choice - cancel your booking! This means I cannot rectify the booking and the hotel misses out on at least one nights accommodation. Your only remedy is to email the hotel but on two occasions in the past eight weeks my emails were not read until I turned up and they accused me of being a ‘no show’. The net result with one property was that I ended up with the handicapped room with a blocked sink and a blocked shower tray right next to the noisy breakfast area instead of my preference (I had booked around ten days before) of a high level quiet room away from the lift. A simple improvement that I can recommend is that when one puts a location in (for example the main address you need to visit during your stay) the App could display a map showing all available properties within a certain radius if that address, including across country borders. There are occasions in Europe where the closest hotel to an address in Germany is in the Netherlands. Finally, in a country like Australia, where there are relatively few properties, when you ask for options near Newcastle , for example, you get listings from as far away as 800 kilometres.

Booking process. Too easy. The entire process was less than 5 mins.

Easy to use. The app is easy to navigate to check out hotels and make bookings. It clearly displays you upcoming and past bookings and if you're an IHG loyalty meme et shows you accumulated points and special rates. I just wish the level of detail on each hotel was as good as on the individual hotel websites. I want to see what the rooms look like and compare sizes, which the app does not do.

Best app for a hotel. Very easy to navigate

IHG is my favourite. I travel a lot and use a number of different travel providers: Expedia, Qantas, Virgin, Hilton, ALL etc. IHG is my favourite, as I know I will get great service, a comfy bed, a central location and great food… every time I travel.

App is not working. I tried to make a booking with latest updated app but could not get past the loading screen to choose dates and hotel. Fix it please!

Great app. For people on the IHG loyalty program, it pretty much does all you need. You can handle most booking and reservation management through the app. It would be good if there was more information about your reservation details during the stay - e.g. did your booking include breakfast - other features. But great otherwise.

Great app. Serves its purpose. So easy to search for hotels and book with one swipe - if you're an uhh rewards member you can save all your details in there so it's quick and easy to book and cancel. I was so handy when I was overseas and had multiple bookings - I could just open the app or open the reservations saved in my 'iPhone wallet' to quickly access hotel addresses for taxis etc

Just finding it so easy to book. Good rates easy to use and I usually hate booking accommodation. My mum 81 and I are travelling for 3 months around America offered this app and just making my life so easy Thanks Linda Harrison and my mum Lucy

Using app to book. This was my first time booking using the app for an overseas hotel booking and it was amazingly easy.

Loading the app.. I have tried multiple times in the past few weeks. It seems that it will not load.

Regular User - Great App!. It does everything I need. Tells you things upfront about your stay, whilst you’re staying and after you’ve stayed. Very handy and actually makes me stay at your properties because I know exactly what I’m getting.

Points. Very disappointed points were available for booking on Sunday when I checked with family to confirm no more points asked for some value after feeling let down perhaps free parking was transferred from one call centre operator to another a very bad customer service after taste

Horrible app. Will book a different hotel chain based on the experience with this app alone. I simply wanted to know difference between room categories at a property I was thinking of staying at. Impossible to find that info in any kind of meaningful way. App designers need to think like potential customers, not like database designers...

App not working. I was logged out for some reason and now can’t sign in

Turned up and greeted by friendly staff who focused on me and my checkin went smoothly. So happy. The staff were professional any yet after my busy day were able too make me smile. It cheered me up and I was still smiling when I got to my room. Wow king bed with a choice of pillows, massive shower with two heads. And lots of toiletries and towels. large tv a a multiple of stations to watch. Blockout blinds and a comfy chair if I didn’t want to sit in bed. Wifi free and worked a treat, I haven’t even slept yet but have recommend to a friend who likes quality.

Recent update not working. Most recent update has resulted in not being able to log into the app. Frustrating!!!! Don’t update at this point in time.

Stuck on messages. Trying to navigate the app is fine, but stuck on message page!

Bring back Apple Wallet Functionality!. It is quite frustrating that the Apple Wallet functionality has been removed. You are one of the only major hotel chains not to malls this feature available. App also continues to crash randomly when looking at or trying to delete messages within that section.

Can’t use Amex. Even though Amex cards are accepted, the CVV area only has room for 3 digits. Amex cards have 4 digits. This makes using your Amex obsolete via the app. Come on guys, you can do better!

Version 4.9 on iPhone can’t book rooms. The IHG app updated itself to v4.9 yesterday, and now whenever I click on ‘book a room’ the app shuts down

Sarnia. I am sad that I am unable to stay at the Sarnia IHG Holiday Inn Express as it requires a 3 night stay and my trip only required a 1 evening stay. I was forced to change hotels for my stay.

Points gone. I began travelling for work again. Decided to get my points cards going. Check my IHG app and all my points are gone. I didn’t realize they expire. It would have been nice if they emailed me, since they have no issues emailing me spam constantly. Called and was told there is nothing they can do. Going to have to go with a different loyalty program with good customer service if they can’t help out.

App is useless and Tech support not responding. Unable to sign in on the App for a couple weeks now and each time I call the Diamond dedicated support line they say they will get tech support to fix it but now two weeks later still no joy. I’ve tried my other apps BW and Hilton and Bonvoy they Al seem to work maybe I should use those until IHG decide to fix the issue. I see I’m not alone.

Cannot log in. Can log in fine on my desktop. Cannot log in through the app. Keep getting message “something went wrong”

Login still doesn’t work. I have just signed up to IHG one rewards program on the IHG website. However, when I tried to login with the same credentials (email, password) on the app, it keeps telling me there is a problem. I tried my credentials again on the website and it worked fine.

Called customer service and they gave some excuse about having trouble with the passwords but that was weeks ago and it’s still not fixed.

EXTRÊME température - hot tub. We always want hot tub in all our stays. Hopefully the management will fix the extreme temperature of their hot tub in this location. Last time we ended up staying across the bull ding Express because of the hot tub temperature here is damaging our skin and feel like i can peel them after. You migbt probably check out other locations and your across the bullring express with the temp. This is not normal- this is EXTREMELY HOT among all hot tubs we’ve been through. Trust me.

Excellent as always. This hotel always provides excellent service in all areas. Efficient shuttle service to the airport, and breakfast is always on point. Thanks again IHG.

Worked good until Dec 23. I switched phones and tried to login on the new phone and it gave an error to contact customer service. I checked my old phone and work phone and the app still worked. I logged out of my old phone and tried to log back in and it quit working. I then tried the help and the chat bot automatically reset my password. The new password worked on the website but not the app. Now my work phone no longer works because of the password and I cannot log in. Two calls to their support and they said they would escalate the ticket and call back. Still waiting over 20 days.

APP not Opening after update.. App not opening after update. I can log into the web version, but not the App. Changed password 5 times, called customer care at IHG. Still not launching. IHG has sent this to their IT for further assistance.

Cannot open since update. I could not open app upon my return from Asia. I deleted and reloaded twice since Dec 18 and still cannot sign in. It simply spins and then you cannot close it down aside from double clicking home button and swiping up.

App is Not working. As noted before by someone else this app has not been working for about a week now I won’t open up I’ve changed my password three times in the only way I can get in is by going through IHG which is useless. I understand that issues happen all the time but it shouldn’t take a week to fix a bug especially the company the size of IHG

Wont log in. Having hard time for 5 days now, install and uninstall already but the app won’t log in my iphone but I could log in to ipad and web. Inconvenient.

Never got rewards. I never got my rewards and the hotel never honoured my free perks either.

Crashes. App won’t stay open. Crashes whenever I try to enter. Absolutely useless as a traveler. I can’t see my bookings or make additional bookings.

Login issue. Nice update, still can’t login…..

worse than useless app. This used to be a good app, but it no longer permits logins. Also, if you go to IHG to report login problems, then their chatbot simply locks your account. I’ve been staying mainly at IHG hotels for decades, so congratulations to the devs on making an app so appallingly bad that it reduces even me to zero IHG stays. Other chains have working apps — bu5 judging from this app, IHG doesn’t want our business anymore.

Payment method. Need to be able to have more than one CC on guest profile. Need to be given room rate in local currency not my home currency when travelling internationally

Terrible 1st experience. It took me almost 24 hours to navigate and successfully use this app to book a hotel room. If I booked using my hourly charge rate this room would cost me $5000.

Won’t log in. Customer service is useless. Ever since the last two updates my iPhone app can’t log in at all. Says password is wrong, strange it works on you stupid website. All customer service says is to reset your password. Can’t be close to what you have used EVER in the past and has stupid requirements.... I have been a spore elite member almost within two months, yes I sleep in your hotels more then my own bed. Got your credit card, might as well earn even more vacation nights for my wife and I. And now can’t get your app to work. Mobile site is about useless as the dates keep changing to the past... maybe time to find a new hotel chain...

Been using IHG for 25 years. I have been traveling extensively with my business for 25 years. I am a consultant and have to be in areas for 2-3 months at a time. I almost always use IHG hotels and the app for their consistency in giving good service and great rooms. The app is easy to use and I can book a room in seconds sometimes. It helps to make my life easier. And who doesn’t need that.

How did they ruin this?. This app used to be wonderful. I’m a gold club member and stay in IHG hotels wherever I go if I can. Booking through the app used to be a breeze. Now I can’t manage to complete a booking for more than one night at all without making a phone call. Today I tried to book 3 nights spanning end of October/first of November. Would you believe the app wouldn’t let me enter dates in two different months??! I love the IHG hotels, but this app is garbage.

Alway my first choice. One thing about Holiday Inn express as I know what I’m walking into. Friendly staff, clean rooms, great coffee, and breakfast before heading out. I love Walnut Creek Holiday Inn express because they have secured parking. That’s monitored!! I’m native California literally, transplanted to Osage county Cherokee nation, Oklahoma, so when I’m visiting the day or the valley, I can always count on Holiday Inn express to meet my needs. Thank you Holiday Inn for being, a hotel that I would gladly recommend to any of my family and friends

Outstanding hotel, exceptional staff. Really can’t thank you enough - every single staff member I encountered was exceptional. Front desk, housekeeping, bar, restaurant - everyone was extremely pleasant, always smiling, truly one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had to date. My daughter returned from military deployment in the Middle East and was delayed. Your staff simply could not have been more accommodating. I’m so impressed with the level of customer service and the property. Just an outstanding experience. Thank you all!!

Rooms are great my wife says as well. Loved the extra space instead of clutter. You had everything I needed. This is my second stay this week in a Holliday Hill Resort. Earlier in week we had 3 nights at the Panama beach Resort. Room layout was the same like I went home no bother. Years ago when I was younger in the 1970’s we stayed in one of your resorts and I’ve had the same good feeling about coming back. Bless u all.

Kinda disappointed. I’ve been with IHG for a while now. The service never seems to disappoint but please fix the glitches in your app!! It’s really frustrating when I’m trying to book a reservation and it freezes or just keeps loading. Even after killing the app and trying to rebook my reservation the same things keeps happening.

What A Disappointment. I am a fan of Intercontinental and Crown Plaza hotels and had high expectations for IHG points. However, when I started using this App, I realized there are not even FEW options available to redeem points other than Holiday Inn, but also impossible to filter out the IHG hotels that take points. When I called the customer service they took down my feedback and transferred me to a complaint department that just hung up on me. No follow up or solution provided. I had to admit the IHG points are probably the worst points ever; and the App does very little to help you navigate to hotels that you can even use points, or find dates that certain IHG hotels take points. Huge disappointment!

glad that card adding to wallet is back. But, can you please do not use Alipay as default means for payment? it's hidden under book button and each time I have to cancel it and rebook as Alipay was chosen. Also, can you keep previous search criteria such as rate and tax & fees, especially for tax & fees, most people don't care how much without those but total amount need to pay, each time I have to re-select with tax & fees. Some features existed in previous version are missing, such as especial rate for IHG credit card, it'll be good if you can put it back. Thanks.

Difficult to book using rewards. I just spent 45 minutes total trying to book a room through the IHG app while trying to use my rewards points. When I pressed the book it button, “something went wrong” message popped up and referred me to customer care. I spent 30 minutes trying to text with an agent to find a room, studio style with Candlewood Suites, no guarantee that I would get a King Bed. If it’s going to be this difficult to use your reward points to book a room, why be a loyal customer!? Completely frustrated. Not sure if my agent wasn’t having to manage more than customer at a time based on delayed responses. Ha, you call that customer care?

Nice as Always. We’ve been staying at Holiday Inn Express for many years w/NO problems, ever. As a matter of fact, it is actually our “hotel of Choice” when traveling. The breakfast is always the same, very good, and convenient that we don’t have to try and find a restaurant early in the morning(especially in some of the smaller towns, or areas). Always happy w/ our experience at Holiday Inn Express. Would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good, hotel w/breakfast included.

No need to get this app. This app stinks. Every time they issue a revision it knocks you out and you can’t get back in with calling and spending 20-30 mins on the phone with them. It will tell me my pin is wrong so I request my pin and it’s the right one! Happens ever time they issue a new version. There’s really no point in having the app. Can’t check in with it, can’t pick your room, can’t use it as your key, it’s not worth anything. I’ve moved almost all my business elsewhere cause it’s so frustrating dealing with it. I prefer the HI express over the Hampton but Hilton’s got it all over them with making it easy to do business with them

Glitches Galore. This app is extremely glitchy. Today, I was looking around and trying to get to the Rewards Catalog. I was able to find it then left the app to answer a text. When I went back in, it took me several minutes to find my way back to it. Every time I click on rewards catalog, the app flashes between several screens that I didn’t navigate to. It has a mind of it’s own. In February, I was looking at prices on hotel rooms when all of a sudden, it was booked without me clicking on anything. I kept the reservation because the room was at a good price and I would get reward points but it’s pretty frustrating when the app doesn’t work smoothly.

Sooo easy!!!. I travel quite a bit for work and this app is amazing! The “email me my bill” feature is awesome!! One click and bam! Your bill is in your email ready for an expense report. I am always having to call hotels to get a copy of my bill emailed to me when doing expenses (yes, I know it would be easier to not lose the original…) This app saves me the headache each month.

Unusable, still... even after recent updates. Up until about 6 mos ago, this app was great for a regular traveler. However, for whatever reason even after keeping up with app updates this app locks up or gives error messages... The only way I’m able to make any IHG reservations is on my PC. Very disappointed and seriously considering after being an IHG member for 13 years to move away and find a more user friendly travel system that is compatible and maintained as needed for reliability on mobile devices.

Company is Fraud. I have an open issue reported to IHG since mid August and no one is able to figure out what is going on. I have several instances where the issue ticket was closed without asking me if the issue is fixed or not. I had reopened atleast 2 times and issue is still not fixed in second week of December. They locked me out of my account even though I remember my login and password. I am asked to reset password for absolutely no reason. I am never using IHG once I am done with this issue. I believe they are running fraud to intentionally lock out customers from the app and doing something fishy in background

Horrible. This app is horrible! I travel constantly for work, and always found it great to use the app .... until few updates ago. Now the app doesn’t show any point redemptions , and there’s issues with logging in. When I called the IHG help desk to inform them about not being able to login, they pretty much told me to go kick rocks ( “Im so sorry sir, we aren’t aware of any issues, we haven’t heard of any issues with the app, maybe you need to refresh it ?” ) Yet I still have issues with the app , and it’s frustrating... I can’t even use it for its purpose really ..... 1.) Log points 2.) Redeem at IHG brand hotels. Somehow this got messed up, I feel let down as a Spire Elite member... brand loyalty 🤔

App is huge waste of time if traveling with disabilities. App is HUGE WASTE of time if you or someone in your travel party has a wheelchair or requires disability specific amenities. Specific features MUST be searchable. Do not make users drill down to specific room selections to see if a location has the right features to allow you or your family to stay there. GIANT WASTE of TIME! Do better, please. There are so few rooms with roll in showers and multiple beds, it is near impossible for a family with child in a wheelchair to travel. The fact that none of the apps allow you to search for these features feels intentional

I can’t understand all of the five star reviews. Each time I try to log in to the app to make a reservation, there’s some kind of issue.y phone stores my member number and pin for login which requires Touch ID for access. That doesn’t work. I enter the info manually, it doesn’t work. I try to reset the password, and it tells me to call. This is getting absurd. I use the same email address, and the pin sent to me in the email. There’s no way I could possibly be getting either piece of information wrong. Still, I’m required to call customer support and get them to do what ever they have to do on their end to “unlock” my account. This is getting ridiculous.

First class service. I am so appreciative of how IHG constantly improves . The latest is a welcome reward of free snack / drink or points . It really made a difference in my stay as I was craving some milk / yogurt and the hotel offered some healthy choices and local farm milk . The app is user friendly and easy to find whatever you need to make your stay great . There are tons of 5 -star reviews for many reasons .

App just got worse with latest update. The app doesn’t show my current reservation, the rate and billing information listed under a previous stay was incorrect from what I was actually billed, my points zeroed out and nights decreased on the screen that tracks my elite status even though I still have my Spire Elite status, I didn’t accrue the point for my last stay for being an ihg rewards member nor as a ihg credit card holder. The receipts I got from the hotel reflected the correct rate and when I was billed at least. But there’s no other way for me to track current reservations, future reservations and my rewards data when the app and website don’t show it.

Privacy issues. I absolutely love IHG. Let me start with that. I’ve contacted customer service twice and no one can log out any other users on my account regardless if I change the email. This is completely unacceptable. Anyone with the app with my previous login and password even gets my updated information when I open the app. I’m so upset I want to close my account. (I’ve been a customer since 1999) my advice is not to share your information with anyone because they will have you information and any changes you make forever….. So disappointing.

This app is awful. I am a Spire member and use IHG frequently for my travels as I use various rental car and airline apps. This app is by far the worst of any travel provider I know. Every single time I want to log in I have to Rentee all my credentials. On several occasions it did not recognize my password and I had to reset. I barely use the app anymore and just book online. However, every time I am on the road I get reminded how awful this app is .

The login is unnecessarily complex. With every update the app requires to enter pin / password even though the face id /touch id was enabled. If you enter an incorrect pin, your account is disabled and you have to call customer service which takes about 20-30 minutes before you get a capable human being to answer. I travel for living and am a member of just about every loyalty program there is. Do you really expect me to remember password for every travel loyalty app? If it takes me over 30 minutes to login to your app, I will surely book a room from your competitor. More complex is not necessarily better.

Login Issues for months. I have spoke to a representative from IHG 2 different times in the past few weeks and they assured me there team is working on fixing the fact that some customers cannot login on the app. They indicated it would be resolved likely by the end of last week. Well a new release was pushed recently and still to no avail. I have not been able to login ever since I downloaded the app months ago. I continue to get an error stating to contact customer service, that there was an issue with my credentials, which is false. I can successfully login on the website right now. It’s unacceptable that a company this large is having such a persistent issue for this period of time for simply logging in. I want to book on the app because of the promotion they are running for bonus points, but I am unable to do so because of this longstanding problem. I hope mine and others who have posted the same concerns about this are actually being listened too.

Love this sight!. We love IHG!! It makes things so easy to have all your travel information in your phone or tablet. We go on and make our reservations, we get a email with the confirmation number and all the info is on my account on the sight, and that’s it, we are set to go. If by some chance we need to modify our stay, no problem I can do that on here without calling in. I really love the past stay section. I can go back to find a hotel we stayed at so I can book it again when in that area.

Great app easy to use but..... Does everything I want and very stable but can be a bit confusing when trying to find out info on your booking or you offers ( always tells me I don’t have any offers and then 10 seconds later they appear). Also keeps asks if I want to have English as my default every time I use it. Come on guys that’s what cookies are for. Overall I love the app but as in any relationship there are always a few annoying things that drive you mad. That’s life hey!! 🤣

Don’t waste money on IHG. No customer service. This is an international company. Finding a phone number for customer service that works is difficult. Stays purchased through the app cannot be cancelled. Reservations are paid in full and cannot be reimbursed. I cancelled a reservation and when I realized the penalty was the entire cost of the reservation I called to ask to keep the reservation they told me it was already cancelled but I could rebook the reservation at full cost again. I fully recommend Expedia. Prices are the same and you have a larger selection hotels. The reservations are fully reimbursed. Used it for years but like Holiday Inn Express so I thought I would try their rewards program. It was a costly mistake. I will avoid IHG and all its member hotels in the future.

Frequent Invalid Card. The app is great when it works. I have had several attempts while booking it says my card is invalid. The scan option of the credit card does not work. My card is not invalid when then I have to call the hotel to make my reservation with the same credit card. Yes it works. Which is why I have the app for the convenience while traveling. I just spoke with Customer Service. Was told to call my Credit Card company.

Love it except payment changes are awful. Needs work. Changing between business and leisure profile at the time of booking is nonexistent. And if you change credit cards the scan doesn’t change the card type (mc, visa, etc) nor the exp date. Worse yet the drop down arrows to change the exp date and card type don’t work. So you end up having to enter the credit card manually. Flawed for sure.

Great place. These hotels have always been there for me and my family, I continue to depend on staying with IHG anywhere I go on vacation or just going for a weekend trip. Best places, breakfast is a plus for us and the comfortable beds and clean rooms. The hotels are also always clean and I’m always welcomed when I enter the hotel. That’s why I recommend any family and friends to stay there. And the prices for staying are outstanding.

Problem signing in. I use this app to book my stay and to get directions to the hotel, it’s been working fine until this latest update I can’t sign in anymore. I switched between email address and membership number, it seems to work at first but now it’s not letting me sign in at all. I tried deleting the app and downloaded it again but still no help. I need it fixed ASAP!

What happened?. Been using the app for years. A large reason I stay at HIE is the ease of the app and their nationwide locations. The newest update will not keep my CC info. Further, when I hit the “Find Hotels” button it takes me to my current reservation. What a cumbersome hassle now. Surprising how quickly I will change brands based on the App performance. Maybe I should just find a pay phone and call the central reservation desk and ask them to locate hotels and then I can write down my options using a real pen and paper and then locate them on an Atlas. Where is my pocketful of pay phone change?? I know I have that number somewhere in my Rolodex... Oops, I’ve lost my pen. Rats.

Good app, could be better for user. The app is great for finding and booking a hotel quickly. However, I think the app really struggles when displaying benefits for reward members. The “Offers” tab doesn’t outline how far along you are in a promotion/offer; you can only click on the promotion to learn about it but it doesn’t tell you if you’re enrolled in it or how far to go. Additionally, I didn’t notice an “add to calendar” option which I appreciate on the website, it might be a detail I’ve overlooked but that would be useful. Overall, easy to use but could be more detailed.

Gold star member disappointed. When it works, it is great. Though much of this spring and into summer now it just spins. You put in a destination and it spins. You cannot exit and need to force quit. So I tried to look for rooms on the website, no app. It just sent me back to the app. I like the hotels but right now the app is useless. I checked to see if there was an update, no. I checked internet, not an issue. It is the app. This has been very inconvenient when, living 4 hours from a city I have had to make last minute emergency visits and would like to book a room with on the way. No such luck. Fix the app and I will improve the review. Very disappointed IHG Gold Star member.

App shows false information and is misleading. Double check online rates and points because phone app shows false information. I purchased additional points to be able to use the points and cash option featured in the app. This feature presents that you can use points and cash deal but this is not the case. The app needs to be updated quickly to prevent other customers from spending money on points. Information in app is misleading and false. Customer service line was no help to resolve issue. It is not okay when a business decides to not deliver stated promises on website/application.

Emailing invoices. Frustrated bc I have to always go retrieve my bill after I check out, I make it habit to ask during check in or out that they have my email correct and to email m, and they tell me it will be emailed but has only happened at a couple of my stays in the past year. Makes extra work for me while traveling for business so I hope they get this aligned internally.

Will not log in on iPhone X. I can log in on my other ios devices (iPad Pro and previous 6s+), but when I try to log in with my iPhone X, the action times out. The IHG service representative was unable to fix it or explain why it doesn’t work. All devices are running current ios (11.1.2). UPDATE: I discovered that the login issue depends on which location that my VPN is set on. This seems silly, but when I disable the VPN (not preferred) or select a different VPN location, the app works okay. I have no idea why this would be an issue with my iPhone, and not with my iPad Pro. I now would upgrade my rating of the app to 4 Stars. When it works, I like the app, but VPN issue reduces it from 5 to 4 stars.

Platinum Elite Level member here. This app is so bad that I have given up trying to use it. I end up showing up at the front desk hoping there is availability. Having to call to make a reservation is the other option. I’m switching to Hilton after the new year because the app is super smooth and I can do everything from my phone without all this complication.

The update lacks photos of hotels. As a long time user of the IHG brand, I count on the app to give me all the information I need when I travel. Currently located abroad, I travel frequently. The photos of the hotels, the lobbies, and the pools are so important to me. Imagine my shock when that information is no longer available on the app. You might get a handful of photos now and that’s it. I need to make a reservation for next week and I keep going to Booking app to get the photos of the hotel. I shouldn’t have to do this. Without photos of the hotels, this app is basically worthless. I find myself already looking at other hotel brands out of frustration over the lack of photos.

Works well except for the camera app. Works well, but when I went to enter the card with the camera it would not pick up the number, that could be the card, so it is ok. When I pressed the manual button it went to a mostly white screen with a number pad to enter the card. No way out of that screen. The card number would change from red to black when entered correctly, but no done button. Had to reboot the phone to get out.

Unable to book room through app, and all stays appear to be in Atlanta. I like the app a lot and wish it actually worked for reservations. I’ve tried booking several times in different country locations. I reach the stage of “select” room, then I just get a white page with the rotating circular buffering symbol in the middle. Like the app is working on it, but it never goes anywhere. So I am unable to use it to book reservations. Also, all my upcoming stays display the correct date, but the location is wrong let as Mid Town Atlanta. I’ve never booked a hotel in Atlanta. So this is puzzling. 2 stars because it’s good for being able to pull up the confirmation number. Wish it was more useful than that. I’m wondering if there is a dedicated customer support for the app.

App functionality is poor. This App has good content and generally all the right features (although it’s pretty weak sauce to not have user reviews and ratings more available in a hotel app). I think the navigation of the app is generally as poor as a Chinese SW app. It’s silly that offers clicked will take you to a website, which asks you to log in again, then tells you that you already are enrolled. When going to the enrolled offers, you can’t even open the offer for details, you have to navigate all the way back. Do the developers actually use this app or talk to anyone that does?

Great app - only one recommendation. Really easy to navigate on this app. Very good tools for researching areas of travel, description & pictures of rooms. I especially like the toggle button for actual costs of room (Room & Fees estimated). Only recommendation: Easier way to modify reservation. I tried to add days, after I realized I shorted our trip 2 days. I had to go to the website to make changes. Overall: Excellent App!

App is too generic looking & oversimplified.. The new IHG logo also looks very generic and the letters are spaced too far apart. What was wrong with the last IHG Logo (from 2013)? I shouldn’t have to update my app every other week. This is getting ridiculous, because the app hasn’t gotten any better at all in the last 2 years. It’s just basically a boring mobile web version of IHG’s full “desktop website”, but with limited features and options. Then we have to sign in our account again after every lame update, which isn’t a problem for me, but it could make it a lot more difficult for elderly people and people with impaired memory problems who keep forgetting their PIN and password. If it’s not broke then STOP fixing it and updating it!

Missing information. Went to the local hotel website and made a reservation for myself just to get away. Credit card was charged the next morning which was cool that meant everything was ready. I get there and the desk clerk states oh we won’t be able to rent you a room because you don’t stay 59 miles or more from here. I have no problem with that but it needs to be stated on the website. So when I asked for my money to be returned to my card they say oh that may take up to 10 business days. Uh no it didn’t take y’all 10 business hours to take it. Thanks to my card services and many many calls to this company I was able to get my money back next day.

Not helpful. I don’t understand all these positive reviews. My experience: 1) couldn’t use the app to check-out in spite of at least a half dozen attempts. It did helpfully tell me to go to the front desk, something I never could have figured out for myself were it not for the amazing app. The message from the app was “We’re storry” and that’s how it was spelled… 2) couldn’t access my bill from the app. Once again, I was instructed to contact the hotel. I also have to wait for days to see my rewards. Seems like having my credit card charged immediately, and not after several days, would make it simple for the app to update with my rewards.

Doesn’t work in landscape, i.e. with a keyboard, on iPad. I’ll never give more than 3 stars for any app that doesn’t work in landscape view on an iPad, and thus doesn’t work with the folio keyboard. In addition, this app has a “allow touch ID” option, which tells me they haven’t updated it in years, since touch ID on an iPad has been obsolete in favor of Face ID for a really long time. It’s actually a decent app, but when they don’t update it for current hardware such that it’s difficult to use in my current configuration, I can’t recommend it. Use your browser.

Great App. Needs a few stability updates.. I always start my hotel search with this app. Very loyal to IHG decently their new boutique hotels in southern cities. You can do almost everything from the app, but that doesn’t mean you should. Once you get deep into the app it tends to fail and it might. E best to move to the full website or just call the front desk. Digital keys would be a pretty great and getting to the point where it could become necessary. As a pure consumer I only see the positives fully acknowledging the existence of the negatives.

Not 💯. Was unable to book a room 3 weeks ahead with app. App said no rooms were available for the 3 nights I requested. However when I called the hotel the desk clerk was very friendly and was able to reserve my room! The clerk was unaware of discrepancies on the app. Because my reservation was made over the phone, it did not sync completely with the app. It showed as an upcoming stay but the reservation did not sync with my iPhone wallet. I could not access the reservation through the app at anytime. This sucked because I had to refer back to my email for confirmation and general reference.
