Great App. This app is like having AimBot for your rifle. It was very difficult to miss shots out to some very long ranges. Of course it's going to cost you some money to buy an amazing product. I love this app, worth every penny, and now that it connects to kestrel via blue tooth, all I can say is, AMAZING!! The data is as good as your input. Make sure you know how to use the app, before you question it. Read a boo, applied ballistics. You will learn a lot!

Wait for the Bug Fixes.... This is a terrific app in concept and many of its features are fully functional, however, the Range Card part of the App is full of bugs and cannot even output its data for printing. The ballistic portion of the app is great to use and seems to work well. It helped me make my first 1000 + yard 'hits' this past summer. I agree with comments by others that it seems unfair to have to purchase this app twice to have it available on both your iPhone and your iPad. Other expensive apps don't take that approach. I ended up buying it twice in the hope that the iPhone version wouldn't have all the bugs that I found in the iPad version. Unfortunately, I found that the bugs are in both versions of the app.

Managing projectiles and favorites is very clumsy. I have tried to use this app for several years on and off. It’s weakness is saving projectiles and favorites. First of all, it doesn’t seem very intuitive. Secondly, on the ipad, you cant name the projectile or favorite because the form is cut off at the top. It’s sad because i think the app is accurate, but too difficult to use. Oh, i should mention I use several other apps and a ballistics kestrel with no issues.

The Best. I’ve tried them all, and this is buy far the best. l ask for a special round, To be added. They track down information and it will be in the next release. Great job

Awesome iPad app.. I primarily use the HUD in the field on an iPad mini. Even though the app is very complex, the HUD is a snap to use quickly when engaging multiple targets in changing conditions. Support is great as well. I had an obscure setting set incorrectly, producing incorrect wind corrections. I e-mailed Johnathan and he resonded promptly with the fix.

Great app!. This is a great app and a handy backup to my hard cover books. I've had both iPhone and iPad app pro versions for 3 years, free upgrades and they both synced with each other over the cloud. The fact that it will get the current temp, humidity, altitude ,pressure and ballistic calculator is a huge help. I'll still have my data books as a backup, but if I am out hunting I will use my iPhone for my range data. I do wish they had a version for OS X, I'd buy that one as well

Very Good. This app is a great tool for getting on paper at long range. Just put the data in make the adjustments then fine tune. It works fine a shorter distances too.

Seriously buggy. I have both the iPhone and iPad editions. Both have serious flaws. The range charts work well but the heads up display, which is more useful with laser rangefinder distances is flawed. On the iPad version, one cannot change distance increments to less than 100 yards and the 0.1 mr ad settings for wind age does not stick and gets changed back to MOA. On the iPhone version, the numbers are not even close to the range card. The program has more features than competitors but has programming flaws.

Not For Beginners. Super-Detailed.. Outstanding application for the moderately-serious to very-serious shooter. Very complex calculations. Everything was thought of when this app was created. If you are looking for a TOOL...look no further. If you are curious how grandpa's rifle shoots, get the competitor's free version.

Lots of choices. Ballistic does a good job of keeping the load & bullet data current. Your bullet or load is in there

A great help. Love this app. Got it for my iPad and it's always within one click of where I want to be. Can't do much better unless I'm shooting better reloads. With factory ammo, you can't do better.

Same Bug for 2 Years!. I downloaded this app a little over 2 years ago and had problems with the print function. I messaged the developers and they said they would fix it in the next update. Well there have been several updates since then and last that I heard from them is that this bug only effects a certain number of their users and they weren’t going to do anything about it. If you need to print out your tables, you might not be able to do it on this app.

Worth Every Penny. I do a lot of shooting, so I use this app regularly. I do not regret my purchase in the slightest.

ECS. This ballistic application is great. Once you take the time to check all the data, it will help you in your shooting in the field and on the range.

Can’t use without email and name. Sad, can’t try this without email and name. Deleted. This is 2020 after all.

Junk. Gets worse by the day. I have always complained about difficulties with customizing the cartridge name. Now the fools virtually hide the naming field with the save banner.

Range shooter. Great tool for long range shooting. I doubt I would have a target at 1000 yards without it. If there is a draw back it’s that it’s complex and some portions of it are not intuitive. Once you figure out how to set it up you’ll put your bullet where you want with few adjustments.

First time out. Loaded this up and took it out. I really like the way this app works. Take your time, read manual and you will find a lot of good data come from this.

Ballistic fo iPad. This is a phenomenal app. It has tools that I have not even contemplated. Every time I wish something more was there, I find that it actually is! The app will pay for itself quickly with a reduction in ammo costs. Support is fast (very fast) and outstanding).

Fantastic app. 1st I’ve found where you just grab a pic of any reticle and go. Does have issues with save and title for rangefinder being blocked, but really great otherwise. Others give you a handful of high end scope reticle only. So no use to anyone who doesn’t have the scope/reticle. Just get it!

F class. Use this app for the better part of two years. It takes time to get all the inputs correct if you do your part it works very well. I had very consistent results cold bore 1000yd siders inside 9 ring.

Last update is amazing!. I've been using this app for several years on my Touch, but decided to buy the iPad version when I saw that it was going to include target measuring and sharing features. This app is now able to completely replace my load development binder. Just take a picture of the target before you start shooting, you can input each shot in real time while your barrel cools and tie chrony data to each shot as well! The only things I need now are for it to interface with my Bluetooth Kestrel, for someone to make a Bluetooth chronograph, and for there to be a SD/ED/average velocity calculator so I don't have to copy the data from my chrony printout. I can print/email my targets and range reports to myself if I do want to keep a hard copy. Killer app. One small note for people who had already been using the range log feature, I wasn't able to get the target measuring feature to work on my old targets. Had to dig out my last load development targets and retake the photos.

Excellent iPad update!. This app is one that I was most looking forward to using on the more powerful iPad... and I was assuming that I'd be using the scaled-up iPhone version. This update takes full advantage of the iPad's speed and UI. And in general, it is impossible for me to imagine a more complete app for a shooter. The calculator plus range logging capabilities are unmatched. Obviously, you probably won't be taking the iPad into the field, but for the range this is ideal. Well worth $20!

Overall good with limitations. Overall a good app. Windage zero is based on a baseline of the wind conditions at the distance of elevation zero, so it is quite awkward to use at different distances under varying conditions. Would be better to have windage based from zero yards on out and additive from a no wind condition.

Why so greedy ?. **update App won't even open anymore*** The app is great. I love everything about it except the fact that even though I paid $20 for the iPad app I still have to pay another $20 for the iPhone app and another $20 for the extra content. It makes sense to have a basic and advanced version with different prices, but if I'm going to pay for another on my phone I'll make sure I can also use the companion on my iPad and vice versa. It's awesome but not worth the money when you consider the other apps have about the same content and its shared between devices for about 1/2-1/3 or less than this app costs

Ballistic. This is one incredible shooting app. Takes all the guess work out of sighting in. This app will save you a box of ammo right from the start. This app has more features than the other four combined. You will see improvements to your skill at your very first shot.

Great Range Tool. Solid tool with great functionality. The Range Log is awesome. I've emailed some suggestions to improve the Log, primarily to support multiple loads per weapon and multiple targets for each load. Once those are made available, I'm giving it a 5-star rating. BTW, I have not had any crashes.

App crashes & will not boot after incorrect velocity entry. Tried changing muzzle velocity from 27'hundred something fps to 2800 fps but only appended the entry by adding to the existing entry making eight digits - my mistake! Nevertheless, the app now continually crashes while attempting to boot from a fresh start. I don't want to reinstall based on favorites already saved. Any chance of looking at this? Great app with no prior problems up to this point for me. Thanks in advance!

If it ain't broke.... UPDATE: Shortly after posting the review below, the app was updated and now works as it should! I have most of the ballistics apps, and this one (now working as intended) is one of the best. Rating increased tom4 stars. Put this app away last fall as I was not shooting this past winter. Headed to the range today to try out a new rifle and the program continually crashes. This used to be the best app I had on my iPad. Now it is practically worthless. No updates since last fall has me worried that this developer has abandoned this app.

love this app.... I am a shooter and reloader for over 60 years and this app has become indispensable to me.I have been singing its praises to my shooting friends and the latest convert bought himself an iPad just so he could use it.

Great app for long range shooting. They have fixed the iOS8 bug that caused favorites to crash! Thank you for being so quick to fix it. The app is fantastic for long range shooting with so many tools and clear to use interface. I prefer the iPad app to fiddle with dope charts. My phone synchronizes via the cloud and I can view the same information whenever I'm at the range. Definitely recommended!!!

Good app but I’m disappointed with support. I use this app on my phone and really like it and depend on it. When I saw there was an iPad app that would sync with my phone I bought it so I could use the larger iPad screen at home and use my phone at the range. The iCloud sync isn’t working for me. Despite several emails and requests for help through the app tech support has been non-responsive. This is an expensive app so I would expect more from support. I’m disappointed in that aspect of the product and would not have bought the iPad version if I’d known the iCloud sync wasn’t working or was spotty at best.

Good buy. Excellent tool for shooting at distance. Take the time to fully learn all the options this app provides. There are videos and explanations for many of the not so obvious features of this ballistic calculator. It can also be used to demonstrate key factors impacting accuracy. Example: vary the sight height and see how that one variable affects the trajectory. Well worth the money. Less than the cost of 20 rounds of 308 match ammunition!

Awesome. Works very well

I want a refund. I dowloaded it on my iPad and I have to pay full price to get it on my phone. If I had known that I would have download it on my iPhone. I don't take my iPad to the range so it's almost useless to me. This is the first app I have purchased that I can't use on all my devices. I'll delete it and write it off as a lesson learned.

Extortion. I purchased this product a long time ago and have enjoyed using it. Unfortunately the latest update is now forcing me to give out my personal information before I can use it. I call this extortion. I should not have to give out my personal information for a product I have already paid for. I would not recommend buying this product until they remove this feature.

Ballistic 5 Star. Ballistic for iPad is clearly and without a doubt the most comprehensive ballistic data and practical range referencing app I have ever used. From its clever use of the vast coefficient library of manufactured ammunition for quick reference. Coupled with the fact you can also add your own hand load coefficients makes it useful on so many fronts. Additionally the HUD system with it's interactive dials make changes quick and easy for scope dope.

Right on Target. I've used this app with my .308 and 6.5 Creedmoore at the range put to 1000+ yards and I'm amazed how accurate it is. Call your wind correctly and you will ring steel every time

Major problems with ISO 8. Don't waste your money on this app. As you change the view orientation the input page covers the output data and you cannot move the input data to see output data. Try one of the free ballistic programs like Mil-dot it works fine. Sure wish you could get a refund for programs that don't work. When you view the 3d trajectory and then return to ballistic page you can only see input data no output data. The HUD function does not work. Etc etc.......

Great app. Easy to adjust for different 0, calibers, and yardage Ding steel at 500 yd 1st shot no problem with capable rifles. Save Gun/load/caliber/optic to favorites no problem. Having a chronograph is essential

Excellent external ballistic program. This is an excellent program for storing y reload data, calculating drops for various loads, and storing off results or compare between other loads. Very good program

Been using it for several versions. Definitely requires some time and attention to learn but once done this app is top notch and worth every penny. My only gripe is that it is not universal and required re-purchasing for the iPad once I got one as I started on the iPhone.

Problem with upgrade 2.5.5. I am getting repeated crashes in 2 scenarios, when i: 1. Load a saved favorite, view the ballistic chart for the load and then click on the favorites button. Instead of bringing up favorites I am kicked out of the program. , and 2. When i am in the favorites section and tap on favorites on my list to the left. Its odd, most times the ballistic chart does not load in the right side view pane like it should. In order to make that work I have to, select a favorite, tap the range note tab, tap the favorite tab and then it shows up. These glitches did not exist in the prior version. I would have emailed the developer but could not find his email address on his web page. Please fix these glitches, the program was great before the current version, not its NOT. ...... The range log does not work, it fails to save data entered!

The Best. I am experienced long range shooter, and I own 200+ apps. As apps in general go, this is one of the best, and the same is true as far as ballistics apps go. It is constantly being improved and upgraded, and it just gets better and better. I wish every vendor put this much effort into maintaining their product and adding to its features. This app is well worth the price, and for its many features, it is a genuine bargain. I have both versions, and use it on my iPhone and on my iPad. You cannot say enough good things about it. I highly recommend it for the serious target shooter.

IPad Ballistic App. Great for use at my reloading/shooting building. Instant access to my loads and performance information. Very useful preparing for upcoming hunts especially with pocket size trajectory table to take along.

Strong arm personal info tactics. As others have said, i have owned his app for quite a while now. Haven’t used it in a few months and now on launch am met with a required fullname and email address demand. Not asked, demanded with a lockout screen keeping me from using the application i purchased. Cannot recommend more strongly to go elsewhere to get a ballistics app when they are using this sort of strong arm tactics. Non-functional app.

Well worth trusting. I've only been hand loading for 3 years and this is the 2nd ballistics program I've used. It's head and shoulders above the 1st program I used. You won't be sorry, buy it, you'll use it.

Quick and simple app. The app lets you make bullet and caliber choices and quickly analyze the effect. Easy to use and to understand either hold off or number of clicks to be on target. I use it at the range and during trip planning.

V 2.5.5 still needs helpl. Unable to tailor a custom load. Entering parameters like drift, or coriolis accel crashes the program. Far from intuitive. I'm using iOS5. Disappointed with the crashes as this really could be an incredible program. Please fix it Jonathan. It's the best ballistics program anywhere. Thanks for it's creation.

A must have app for the serious shooter. Initially I thought the price was too high. But when you learn to use the app, and see how good it is, and the features it has - worth every penny. I ended up purchasing both the iPad and iPhone versions. I use the iPad version at home and the iPhone version on the range.

Ballistics for iPad. I loaded this app on my iPad and tested it at 100, 200 and 400 meters so far. The calculations for bullet drop on a 308 win with all the variables entered seem to be spot on. Initially went I got the app I had a few issues with getting it set to metric, but I emailed support and they replied REALLY quickly and pointed me to the general settings on the iPad and under there we found ballistics and all the settings for metric etc. It's a great app, accurate and has good support. Worth the money.

Not as good as expected. Installed the app but then find that the features aren't all that they appeared - the range log section is nowhere near as good as 'Shot Plot' - the figures have to manually entered rather than updating from the shot's position and the targets cannot be moved/shrunk/enlarged. Thought it was an 'all-in-one' -it's not.

Ballistic Review. This is a great program. A must have for any serious shooter. Once you have entered your load data and muzzle velocity, this great program gives you accurate elevation settings for each range. I shoot 223, 308, 303 British and 300WSM. They all work as per their individual Ballistics tables. Highly recommend this program, for any serious shooter

Buggy. App works really well. Only it just keeps shutting down on me when I'm using it, which in turn renders it useless. Please fix the bug issue and it will be back to 5 star.

Great but...... The iPad version of the app is great BUT there is a bug in it that the developer does not or can not fix... I can only share a ballistic chart to e-mail once, does not allow me to sent another chart before I quit the app and restart it. I have used different iPads, iOS versions and all the same.

New LR shooter, Canada. I am new in this game and I discover everything at once. Long range shooting is fascinating. I particularly appreciate the technical and scientific aspect however, I am not just a nerd, I like to make noise as well. This application is a great tool to add to my toolbox and I will diligently test the theories.

Good App. This app will do all your calculation for you, the only reason I gave it an 4 and not a 5 is does not display properly on my new I-Pad Pro.

Please fix program for iPad. Really like the program. But wish it did not crash each time some parameter is changed. But it truly has the potential to be a great shooter tool.

very good app, not well described. the functionality of this app is superb. However, the description in the store is a bit vague as to exactly what functionality it really does have, it actually has the top end of the functionality you may guess from reading it. Also, the user interface has some stuff buried, and, it is a bit hard at first to find things or even know they are there. See ALL the instruction videos on youtube, they are outdated from the latest revisions to the apps but, if you sit through all of them you can see what it really does and how to actually find the features and use them. Great app, needs a better description on its website, and, a solid, well written and organzied user manual. It actually does very well everything I wanted, took several weeks to find some features. I still cannot get custom load trajectories nor scored target entries to synch between my ipa and iphone. I turned on the icloud bit, but has not yet worked.

Ballistic is very helpful. I have a couple other ballistics apps, and this one is the best for anything that does not pertain specifically to a Nikon scope

Great App but needs to be updated to Work with iOS5. I have had this app for my iPhone for awhile now and it is fantastic. I love the ability to calculate .1 mRad adjusts and build dope table in seconds. After I upgrade to iOS5 the app keeps crashing. I saw the upgrade the FTE version to 2.5.4 to fix iOS5 issuesbut have yet to upgrade this app. Hopefully soon, but either way a great app for $19.99.

Excellent application!!!!. This is a fantastic application. I would probably pay a bit more if it could include a calculator to help determine reconcile distance to clicks. Also, the target plotting application on the range log could be better if it were full sized. It's too small to accurately place my shots. It would help if it calculated my group size once I plotted the shots. But I'm asking for the world. This really is a brilliant app as is, and worth the price.

Wha happened?. Went to review info and revise data loaded in Sept; loaded recent (Oct) update...TOAST! It locks up now, never did that before; it crashes now, never did THAT before! Can't blame it on iOS5, so you guys must have done something. Plz fix.

Just about perfect. For a ballistics app, you can't really ask for anything more. Well executed, and easy to use. New loads are updated quickly.

Please update to include Hornady ELD match 140gr. Do it, or your app is junk for not adding new loads..

Best ballistic app out there!. I have a number of ballistic apps. This one is definitely my Go To. I love the comparison charts and the ability to show offset based on zero of a different round.

Self. Great software and great support. It is dead on at the range. I had a question and it was answered immediately. That type of service is very rare nowadays.

App Crashes. App crashes constantly when trying to save data, or set as favorite. Spent $20 for information you have to input every time... 😖👿😖

They screw you with this one!. Be advised… this is one of those apps where they charge you separately for the iPad and the phone versions! For a $20 app I should come with a desktop companion for crying out loud! So now I own the advance version with virtual HUD for an iPad. Like I’m going to mount my iPad on my rails. Save yourself and just get the phone version!

So So. This app has great potential but the current version has lots of problems. The relationships between each of the features have connective issues that can lead to wrong results. Fix these and the app would be 5star!

Ballistic for Ipad. This is incredibly helpful for comparing loads and projectile expectations.

Best Ballistics App. Very handy app for comparing the external ballistics of most popular bullets & cartridges. Probably the best and easiest to use online and I've used several. Just returned from Africa where it was employed several times on a plains safari with good results. I really like the way it grabs the current weather from the IPad in the heads up display and graphically illustrates the hold. My main critique however is the mil-dot reticle it uses, it could be improved significantly by offering a choice of the most popular ballistics reticles, could be made into a five-star app if the HUD allowed the user to select their scope (i.e. Leupold VX-III 4.5-14, Boone & Crockett Reticle) in a similar manner to the bullets, with the field of view, reticle appearance, ACTUAL magnification settings and ranging power settings pre-loaded. (For example, the actual magnification of this scope at 4.5 is 4.9x - 14.2x). Another nice enhancement of the HUD would be the use of actual animal and popular target graphics, rather than a user-defined block. (Whitetail deer, mule deer, pronghorn, elk, kudu, impala, blesbok, waterbuck, sable, blue wildebeest, coyote, etc.) This would take it to the next level. As it is its the most practical IPad app. Should these be done it would have no peer for practical field use.

Very comprehensive yet flawed.. So many inputs to enter, yet it crashes frequently, resets the inputs I enter often, and is generally aggravating. So much potential, so little delivery. Close but no cigar.

Ballistic A E. The app is just as essential to my shooting operation as the powder scale, reloading dies, press and the various handbooks. The information derived in the app is spot on, very accurate indeed.

Super App. Extensive database of bullets and loads. Love the range finder module. Responsive support to add new loads and answer questions.

Excellent app. Great app wish there was some info for 25 cal pellets.
