- Tech support is horrible

So I been using this app for quite some and loved it but there tech support is the worst I ever experienced. What the problem with support is I was having a problem with payment for parking. Where I was parking was that the location wanted a minimum of $4 parking if using a credit card but there was no minimum if paid with cash. So I started a park mobile wallet with a minimum of $25. However when I went to pay for the parking it was still charging me the $4 minimum as though it was a credit card with it was not. Wallet is cash deposited into my account. This is where it gets bad. I contact chat support and explain my situation, the person says the minimum was for credit card payment which I understood and informed them that I was using wallet which is like cash and was not using a credit card. After explaining that the minimum was for credit cards and not cast they responded with “That’s great is there anything else I can help you with?” Use to love the app but my feelings have drastically changed....

- Good at the basics, two annoying issues

ParkMobile seems to be the most popular app for municipal parking around me, and it works pretty well for what it is. Seems to sync well with whatever technology the authorities are using. A handful of app-specific annoyances in the last year or two: 1) there are more often than not popover ads or popover promos that appear as soon as I open the app that I must dismiss in order to input the parking zone and start parking. I imagine most people are like me and in a major hurry to input the zone number and start the clock. The ads and promos are a HUGE annoyance. I’ve cursed the app more than once standing in the rain after finding the zone number and trying to start parking. 2) I turned off app notifications for time remaining and session expired and now they will not turn back on for me. Every time I hit the radio button in the app, I’m redirected to the iPhone setting menu for the app, which doesn’t help - two different types of settings. All of those iPhone settings are correct, so I don’t know what the problem is turning notifications on in the app. I really don’t like text or email notifications, which are now my only options. 3) I had to log out and log back in to the app to see an updated parking history. The app stopped showing parking history in real time for a couple months.

- Terribly unreliable - caused me a parking ticket l

I don’t even have time to list all the things all the things that went wrong with this terrible functioning, unreliable app. I parked my car and walked off, opening to app to pay for my parking. The app then bugged out and had issue after issue. First, it would randomly sign me out and and wouldn’t let me sign back in, telling me my info was incorrect, or simply loading forever. Once it finally started realizing my info WAS correct, I tried to click on a zone and it wouldn’t load it. Then, when it finally did load it, it kept telling me I didn’t have a payment method on file, despite having used it before. When I went to add a payment method, it showed that I did indeed still have a payment method on file. I continuously opened and closed the app, again and again trying to get it to simply function properly, and every time it was a different issue, different bug. Eventually I became so frustrated with it that I went and grabbed my wallet, walked all the way back down to the parking space to pay manually, and upon arrival realized that I had received a parking ticket in the time that I spent trying to simply get to app to function. The app fails at the simplest levels, and is just terrible and unreliable in general. An app like this is supposed to be reliable - that’s the whole idea. Don’t waste your time on this.

- No-help Desk

Update 9/18: in response to ParkMobiles apology and offer to assist via email, I sent my third email support request on 11 August (previous emails on and 21 and 29 June) and not one email has been responded to. Stop acting like you have customer service when you clearly don’t. Bottom line: good app, convenient, but you’ll never ever get a refund should anything not work perfectly! And no one from “customer support” will ever respond to your emails. ====== The app is good and does what is says, but customer support is non-existent. The app warns that the service is merely a financial transaction tool between municipalities and the meter so the app developer will NOT process refunds. However the app offers an opportunity to forward your comments to the city to request a refund. I received an automated email once the ticket was opened, then nothing. I’ve sent follow up emails and not even an acknowledgment, nothing. The original email says it was from the park mobile helpdesk, but I’m pretty certain one doesn’t even exist. Why offer to facilitate communication with the municipality if you’re not going to do it in the first place and then not even get back to the customer with any update(s) much less an actual resolution. It’s been over a month and nothing.

- Glitch caused me to get a parking ticket, but developers ultimately reimbursed me

I parked and saw that parking could be paid through this app. I downloaded the app, entered my vehicle and payment information, entered the zone where I was parking, set it to pay for two hours ($2.85). I got confirmation and even saw the clock start counting down. I go to lunch, then come back to a $42 parking ticket. I check the app and somehow there is nothing in my activity history. Edit: I have sent the information as they requested. The event happened exactly as described above. I will update my review to include how this is handled once it is resolved. Edit #2: I've upgraded my review to 4 stars. The app didn't work and I got a ticket, but I was surprised to find that the developers actually responded to this, they investigated, and ultimately reimbursed me the price of the ticket. That's excellent customer service, which unfortunately isn't common these days. And for the record, I used the app again a couple of weekends ago (I made sure to take a screenshot this time) and it worked fine, so I'm not sure what happened with that first one.

- I like it

I’ve only used the app a couple of times but it’s always worked well for me. It’s fairly straight forward and easy to use. You can add any vehicle to your account quickly from anywhere. (I even added my daughters best friends car from home when needed to park, because they are teenagers and don’t always think ahead.) You can have multiple vehicles on your account. All of the info you need to know about a space (hour and minute rate, maximum time allowed in a space, etc) so you don’t accidentally get a ticket is given in the app when you chose a space/parking zone. I often use the app before I even get out of my car (and I counsel my children to do the same) which gives me a greater sense of security. I like that it warns you when your time is going to run out and I find it very convenient to be able to extend my time in a space from my smartphone rather than having to run out and feed the meter.

- Good app, bad business practices

Edit: as an addendum to my review, there is a way on the website to change your membership to free. However, i was forced to add a new payment option just so it would let me into the personal tab. This is what led me to believe there was no way to cancel the membership, as there is no way to opt out of this, you have to add some payment info before it will let you on. Currently, my review still stands, it took one click on the app to sign up for pro, so it should be just as easy to do it in the same place on the app, not hidden away in some submenu on the website I used Park Mobile throughout college to park on my campus and never had a problem with it, I even signed up for park mobile pro. Now that I’m out of college and moved away, I wanted to cancel my pro since I won’t be using park mobile anymore, and I can’t find anything about how to cancel it, not on the app or the website. This is wrong. If I have to jump through a bunch of hoops just to get an app to stop charging me money, then I see that as a scam. I’ve had to contacted customer support to cancel it, and I will not be using this app again

- Got me lost trying to find my car

Downloaded this app when one of the downtown Indianapolis parking meters had buttons that weren’t working at all. Used it to pay for my parking, entered the associated info, and took note of the number of the parking spot. I even looked to see and was pleased to see a “find my car” option for when I was done. After a work dinner downtown in a city I’m unfamiliar with, I fired up the app and told it to lead me via Google Maps to the car. I knew it felt off when it told me that my ~5 minute walk TO the restaurant was now going to be a 17 minute walk BACK to my car. But I followed it, thinking perhaps I got myself distracted and hadn’t realized just how far I’d initially walked. After reaching the destination, I discovered I was nowhere close to my car. Through trial and error, I eventually found it — first by walking 17 minutes back to the restaurant, then by systematically eliminating other directions. Ended up completely lost for nearly 45 minutes before finally reaching my car and then driving an hour home. Lesson learned: don’t trust that particular feature. The app gets two stars because it allowed me to pay for parking and I didn’t get a ticket.

- Going Downhill

This app has historically been excellent. Recently though a ton of bugs have been introduced. It seems to have lost my account information; I can login with my phone and password and it has no history no payment methods and someone else’s vehicles. I tried to log out and log back in but when you log out it leaves “sign in with faceid” on, so you get stuck in a logoff-logon loop. Had to cover my faceid sensor to get out of it. Added credit card as only payment method but it tried to use PayPal instead on check out. When that failed, it lost all information and I had to start over at a map of the US. I did it again, the second time for same location it wouldn’t give me the max/all-day option, only duration. I selected the max 13 hours on the menu and when I hit save it set to 8 hours. Did it three more times and third time it kept 13 hours. Went to checkout and it was back to 8 hours. I hit “change” on the duration and it started me over at map of US. I eventually succeeded (I think) but total time elapsed fighting with the app was 14 minutes; incredibly buggy and disappointing given how great and smooth this app used to be.

- Awful app and help is unreachable.

I am going to have to delete the useless app because my bank card was stopped due to fraud, and I cannot enter my new number. No help available and not user friendly. Went into every conceivable help category and received no information that worked. It said I can change the card by tapping on the old one and reenter. Well that isn’t true. I spend 10 minutes trying to park before I got down on the floor of my car doing the search for coins. Then I went to my communities parking to complain about their app and they won’t take complaints - I have to contact an uncontactable company. So this company has total control of parking in my community and they have no way of being held accountable for how miserably their app works. I sat down at home and have been working on this for 1/2 an hour already without resolution in changing my payment. This is a junk poorly supported app and I have no choice but to erase it. What a crock and what bs. I am going to write a letter to my council members to let them know that this app is not workable and the parking office doesn’t want to hear it. Communities need to hold these companies accountable when they have dedicated their technology to this monopoly. Idiocy and incompetence.

- Useful and frustrating app

I use the app only once every month or two when I go to Walnut Creek or Oakland. It’s very convenient to use for parking instead of looking for change or pulling my card out and dealing with the parking meter. The app though is very frustrating in a few ways; 1) it never picks up the parking zone I’m actually at but seems to pick up every other zone around me. So I always have to punch in the zone. 2) After going a long period without using it, the app always ask me to setup my payment method even though I’ve done this numerous times with cards that haven’t expired since the last time, 3) more often than not I punch in my zone, then my space # and hit continue when it asks me to select a vehicle. There’s no list and no option to bring up my list of vehicles so I have to cancel and go to my vehicle list only to see all of my vehicles are there and my primary one is set to default. After checking I then return and it allows me to restart and finish the parking process. Like I said the system is very useful but the user interface needs work.

- Cost me a $30 violation

Older versions allowed easy switch between cars. Also clearly identified which car you were paying for parking. You need to now go into settings and change your default car anytime you want to pay for a different car that is already in your list of vehicles. I have three cars and was confused as to which car I had set as the default since it did not tell me as I was setting the parking duration. Paid a $30 violation plus the fee to the app plus the $6 to the city for the other car that was home in my driveway. MAKE IT EASY TO switch between cars like before. SETTINGS ARE NOT SOMETHING YOU SHOULD HAVE TO TINKER WITH WHEN YOU HAVE A CAR FULL OF KIDS AND YOU ARE TRYING TO PAY FOR PARKING. UPDATE: Changed to five stars from one star. App owner made good on promise to make things right. Expeditiously handled the complaint to my satisfaction- above and beyond which is rare. Thank you.

- Worthless fad delete it now

There may be a lot of stupid and lazy people who still use this stupid app, but think of all people who don’t use it or have stopped using it. I still see plenty of people using stupid parking meters. My mother was all excited about paying for parking with your phone until she stopped using ParkMobile. I mean the app is great it saves me a trip to the parking meter to swipe my stupid credit card. This app even allows me to cheat the system by paying remotely when I saw parking enforcement ,but that got boring after a while. I eventually got a ticket since I selected the wrong plate number since I use multiple cars. What’s even more annoying is that I mistakenly still put in the wrong plate number and confirmed it. Then I had to pay twice😭. Just kidding! You just go through the time Consuming task of disputing the transaction with the credit card company. It’s the same thing with the stupid sections and spots. Maybe this doesn’t happen with everyone ,but I’m dyslexic so sometimes I misread all the numbers or press the wrong button. Think of how much better it would be if there was an edit feature. Anyways here’s my review.

- Terrible user experience

This app is horrible with remembering where you are. Any time you leave the app it will forget where you are and where you were in the payment process. Need to reset your password? Enjoy going to your email app and losing your progress. Do you use a password manager? Enjoy going to your password manager app and losing your password. The password you created is randomly generated and secure but doesn’t have a special character? Enjoy going back to your password manager and losing your progress. Apple Pay is unavailable with this so don’t take too long getting your credit card out because guess what happens when your phone locks you out after not interacting with it. Your phone randomly cleared it’s clipboard so the password you had copied is gone and you need to go to back to your password app? Guess what you get to do... Every time the app forgets your progress, it takes 20-30 second to get back to where you were. Took me 10 minutes to just pay for my dumb parking. I wish like hell some other company would make a better app that cities/municipalities would use instead.

- Use this app 3 times a day everyday- never have issues

I have been using this app for at least 5 months now and use it very often so do my colleagues, friends, clients and guests. Everyone always mentions how convenient it is. It also runs very smoothly. Once in a while they will not find the meter I’m trying to charge but I think they’re in the process of integrating all parking meters to have this fab feature. I believe I was also sent a $5 Starbucks card upon signing up. I think that’s the only time I’ve ever received a gift card for another company as a thank you gift. I thought that was so classy. I was very impressed at both their generosity and thoughtfulness. I’m just in the process of understanding the benefits of being a premier member I hope this means I can pay in advance or schedule a payment. All star app. Much appreciated. I wish you guys all the best!

- Won’t let me park for only an hour or two

I downloaded because I had no other option to pay for parking in a lot in Seattle (zone 2606). I’ve parked in the same lot on weekday evening and on a Saturday. Once I enter the zone number, it automatically chooses the max time and there is no way to change it. The lot is clearly marked with rates for hourly parking. Giving the app the benefit of the doubt (e.g. maybe the lot actually only allows max time parking), i would expect the app to tell me that is the only option available, instead presenting me with a widget that is clearly intended to let me edit the parking time but will not respond when touched. Also be fore you pay you have an option that says “change” by the parking time, but touching it only takes you back to where you enter the zone and time is automatically set. Thanks for reading. Finally as a minor annoyance it presents Apply Pay as a payment method, but also a red message saying it is not accepted. Why?

- Convenience at a price

23% seems like a fairly steep price to pay for the convenience of paying a meter via phone, but it *is* convenient. There are 2 main issues using it for street parking. 1) ParkMobile doesn’t alert you or prevent you from paying on days/times when parking is free. (Seems like this would be an easy app side fix) 2) Unfortunately how well the app is integrated with local parking authority info seems a little hit or miss, and that 23% we’re paying to the folks at ParkMobile clearly isn’t going towards them proactively confirming the info they have from parking authorities is correct. Here in downtown Newark for example, there are event parking rules in effect on certain streets on certain nights. Admittedly it’s a bit complicated: 2 hour metered parking during the day until 6pm, free after that until midnight if no event. If there is an event it’s $25 for the evening. And no parking after midnight. ParkMobile is unable to indicate which days have events, and it simply says no Parking after 6 (no option to pay the event rate). When I alerted the PM folks to this via the chat help in the app they said it’s up to the local parking authority to contact them. At a certain scale this is understandable but still, if a user has flagged an issue could they not proactively reach out to the parking authority? Unimpressed. I’ll keep using the app for now, but would love to see the above issues addressed for a more seamless experience.

- Awesomesauce with awesome sprinkles on top!

This app is excellent! No more coins! Major hassle reducer. Yea! In addition to the idea of a wireless parking meter and associated app, which is great, I find this one to be really well designed. There is an initial account setup, which is quick and easy. You put in ID details for yourself and your car, and select your desired payment method. After that, everything happens in one screen. You select your parking “zone” number based on what is labeled on the meter, then you input the amount of time desired, or select “maximum time” and you are done! The app screen will continuously show you a countdown of your time remaining. even alert you when your time is close to expiring if you want! In my town, they have one meter per two on-street spots. At first I was confused as to how the meter “knew” which car had what time remaining, but then I realized that’s why you input your car info. Makes perfect sense, and obviously saves the town money. Bottom line, this app is really easy to use, the user interface is wonderfully clear and intuitive. Big time saver, big coin and hassle eliminator, overall a really nice experience. Love it!

- Will charge you outside of parking meter hours

Make sure you watch out what you are paying for. Make sure you know metered hours because the Parkmobile app will charge you regardless. I downloaded this app so I could pay for my parking and not miss my train. The app works fine except for one very bothersome component: It does not tell you what time to what time you are obligated to pay for parking. Instead it allows you to pay for parking at all hours of the day and night. I paid for parking from 8:15am - 4:15pm. There are no signs inside of the parking lot telling you the metered hours. So I paid those 8 hours. However, while I was still away I wasn’t going to be able to make it back until after 5pm so I paid $0.35 from 4:15pm to 5:15pm. I then paid again until 6:15pm. Even though the metered hours are only from 9am-5pm the app lets you pay their transaction fee during these off hours when you don’t have to pay for parking!

- In bed with Tow/Boot companies.

I’m a handyman and I was helping a client’s daughter set up her new apartment in an off campus student high rise in Midtown Atlanta. It was before everyone was back so the garage was empty, but being the rule follower that I am I paid for several hours of parking. It was entirely my fault for not having my sound on so I could hear the notifications that my time had lapsed. When I got down to my car (20 min past the limit) I found my car booted. This was during a time when I literally only had $75 to my name after a really bad year. The boot company guy rolled up to unlock it and was a jackass the whole time. I wasn’t very nice either calling him every name I could think of. My issue is that the garage is under the building and was empty. The time on the boot notice was for less than 5 min after my time lapsed. There is no way he just randomly drove by and decided to come inside the garage which is completely enclosed so he wouldn’t have just seen that someone was inside. The app had to have alerted him to come boot my car. Just a douche move.

- Purposefully hides your parking spot to make you pay more!!

This is the 4th or 5th time this has happened. Drive to a new area of a city and pay to park. Time to leave. You use the “find my car” function. Suddenly your car is BLOCKS away, you can’t did your car, it sends you to the map app of those choice. While you’re trying to find your car you get multiple notices that your time is expiring. You pay a few bucks extra to cover the fees and suddenly it didn’t know where your car is. The map is unusable and you cannot see the map of where you paid to park. Your car was 1 block away and the app map function makes you wander around 5-10 blocks. THIS IS NOT on accident. This is how these scum make money. Watch it happen. Pay for parking in a city you don’t know. Try to find your way back to your car via the app. SCAM, SCAM, SCAM, SCAM, SCAM!!!!’ Embarrassing. And this is not news- it’s what every REAL app review mentions. The positive reviews are paid foreigners that don’t have cars or kids that don’t drive and don’t know better. EMBARRASSING.

- Do not try

Apparently I Went through all the trouble to download this app and pay through the app through my PayPal and it shows paid in my timer and began ticking away...but My meter was still flashing red saying it needed payment. After two minutes of it still flashing red I finally went ahead and made a payment with my debit card instead manually and that worked instantly. I double checked and screenshot all my information everything was correctly entered on the app. When I contacted customer service about this they basically said i’m out the money and should not have double paid. Even though it was flashing red telling me that it was expired still. And that I could’ve just fought it if they would’ve tried to give me a ticket. This is not appropriately set up and I would NOT recommend this to anyone. Do not waste your time. You’re going to end up with a big fight with this company or a big fight trying to get your ticket reversed because it does not sync up with the meter. This was verified though customer support.

- Great App - lacks one useful feature.

This app is great! Makes paying for parking a breeze and so much easier. It really should have five stars, however, I’m withholding the fifth star till some mechanism is in place that would allow customers to adjust their estimate parking time. As is, you can only add more time to the meter, but you can’t subtract time. If I pay for eight hours, but get off early, I’m still paying the full time. It would be great if the app allowed users to “clock out” if they leave early and have the time pro-rated or a credit applied to the next time a customer parks. That, or have a GPS connected to the app so that it automatically “clocks out” when you get a block away from the parking zone. All this said, if this feature does exist, and I just haven’t figured it out, someone let me know and I will adjust my rating.

- No idea which meter is working

They out stickers on each meter but some don’t even work or they are only good for 2 hours but they are digital. Walked to my office and thought I’ll pay my meter at 8am til 4pm but when it came to adding time it wasn’t available ! This morning I parked at a meter that is out front thinking it’s digital 10 hour meter and it’s only a two hour meter from 8-10 but when I parked there I could put 3 hours 7-10 but see, our meter people start at 8 but now it’s at 8 it’s only good for 2 hours. Seems fishy to me. Now the 2 hour meter cost me 90 cents when I could have just put in 50 cents for 2 hours. I thought this app was going to be helpful as I’m disabled and can’t walk back to meter to add two quarters :( so now I’ll have to pay 90 cents every two hours instead of 50 cents. They should post how much each meter will allow on the meter and not require you to drive to each one to check how long you can do it.

- Paying for convenience, but with hidden costs

This app making street parking and extending your parking time very easy. I live in Philadelphia, where metered on street parking is everywhere. The app makes it convenient to park, pay, and then see how much time you have left. The app also lets you extend your parking further. However, it charges you a significantly higher amount to do so and the up-charge is ridiculous. The app wanted to charge me $7 to extend by one hour, the same amount I had just paid for 3 hours. Then when the parking expired, I was not allowed to “re-park” in the zone (not actually a policy of Philadelphia parking, just the app). I had to go to my car anyways, where I used the on-street meter to pay for an additional hour in my spot without moving the car. I am fine with paying a small fee for the service, but it seems ridiculous to hike prices by so much to extend parking time. Will probably not use in the future.

- Glitches / No Refunds/ Rude customers service

Let me Start by saying I like the convenience of the app. I understand how it should be working and that’s why it’s get 2 starts instead of one. After using the app for over 6 months, I’ve had a few problems. My app logs me out at random and loses my info once I’m logged back in or I can use the screen. If the wrong car is chosen you have to pay again (instead of switching the car) for the correct car and don’t get a refund for the spot you already paid for. The customer service rep I spoke with didn’t make it easy to communicate with. She responded in a way that made it seem “unreasonable” for wanting a refund on a parking spot I don’t have. It’s a convenient app however there are several little things here and there that make it annoying. That can add up and make the app no longe useful. Not happy about the glitches, no refunds for slips cause by the app and rude representatives.

- SCAMMM METER APP READ REVIEW!

U need to be able to extend parking on a 1hr parking spot. There should also be sometime of grace period. I keep getting tickets because of waiting for the meter to be expired to pay for the next hr. For example 1hr parking I have to extend it at least 1-2 mins before the 1 hr is up. Meaning I have to start a new session which in reality it causes me to over pay for parking. I end up paying 1hr for only 58mins of use. Also I’m always getting tickets because the parking agents have the ParkMobile app and wait until your parking is 1 sec expired to give u a ticket. The only way to prevent this from happening is to over pay your parking sessions over and over. Such a scam. You’ll end up paying from your house a few hrs of parking but than come to the car and realize you got a ticket because you didn’t extend it for 1 simple second. I’ve had to pay a couple thousand in parking tickets, fees and tolls because of this app. SCAMM SCAMMM SCAMMMMMMING YOUR MONEY WHEN YOU THOUGHT THIS APP WOULD MAKE YOUR LIFE EASIER AND CONVENIENT. FOOLS!!!

- Useless and Ripoff

Doesn’t work after taking your money and leaving you stranded in a parking garage you will have to pay to get out of. So after paying twice for parking in downtown Sam Francisco, I called customer service only to be bounced around by every rep I spoke to, May who said she was transferring me to a specialist only to just put me back at beginning of que then got Beth who told me refunds should be 2-3 days, this being the 4th and then says she can’t see the current progress and that would need to call the corporate office giving me the same exact number I had called to get nowhere with both here and May. Both useless, incompetent, and dishonest. This app is a RIPOFF and will waste both your time and money! Avoid it!!

- Works well for me - multiple car is now well supported

This app has been reliable and works well for me. My only issue is clunky support for multiple vehicles. There is no way that I’ve found to select a vehicle for a parking event other than the default one. So I have to go to vehicles, change the default and then park. Then I need to change it back for my more commonly used car. It would be so easy to include the option to choose one other than the default. I’m surprised it doesn’t have this capability. If I’m wrong and you can do this, I sure don’t see how. Update: the newest version provides a prominent notice of the cat being parked with the option to change to another vehicle. I guess that option has been there on the final for a while but I didn’t realize it. This solves my issue.

- User beware

I accidentally hit the 5 star review - so disregard that!! You are definitely NOT getting 5 stars! How about letting users know when they are in a NON STOP ZONE!!!!!!! One reason I wanted to use this app was its function to cancel early - because when going to the beach one can really know how long you’ll stay - what if it’s too windy coming off the water or it’s an irritating land breeze that brings in all the flies - so this app solves that problem right? WRONG!! Apparently in Wildwood NJ the app does NOT let you end early - so I pay a 45cent up charge for the “convenience “ but the “convenience “ is only for extending - not ending early. So I would LOVE to know what Zones in south jersey let me end early!!! So users beware - you too might want to know where you can stop early before committing to the up charge fee!!! But how one finds out is a mystery to me!!!! All their information online says you may be in a non stop zone but you only know that after you pay and there’s no stop button!!! That is fraudulent!!!!!

- Easy meter monitoring

I’ve used the app four times and I’m impressed. While others waited in line at the pay stations I pulled out my phone and paid while I was on my way to my appointment. Quick and painless. The reminder that the meter is expiring might be my favorite feature. Assuming I don’t have the glitches others have reported, this app is a huge leap in parking. Update: as i’ve continued to use the app, more glitches appear: forgets my profile, allows me to go through with processing, and just before payment it tells me that I need to add a vehicle. I have to cancel everything, go back to add a vehicle – but there are three vehicles already on my account! Numerous other such glitches have occurred (like telling me I needed to add a payment method – but there already two credit cards, and Apple Pay, on the account), making me spend time to redo the entire payment process. This app has potential, but not ready for prime time. And since it’s been in use for so long, there’s no excuse.

- Used the Park Mobile App, got a parking ticket

I used the app to pay for parking on 2 different zones in one day (let’s call them Zone A and B). Parking in Zone A I had no problem. When I parked for an appointment later in the afternoon, it was in Zone B. I vividly remember carefully inputting the Zone B’s number when I was paying for my second parking spot. After my appointment in the afternoon, to my dismay, there was a parking citation on my windshield. Upon investigating, it looked like the app copied the zone number from Zone A when I was inputting info for Zone B (even though I carefully put in the correct one, the app must have autofilled it, I cannot see any other way it could’ve happened). Therefore, the parking enforcement officer couldn’t see my payment for that zone. I appealed the $15 parking ticket but was eventually denied. I strongly believe that a glitch in the program caused me to receive this ticket and that your company should be responsible for its payment. I emailed customer support but has not had any reply as of yet.

- Just a few suggestions

First of all, as a college student, I love this app. It’s really helped me out because I have classes and studios that last more than 2 hours and running out to fill the meter is a bit ridiculous. My one complaint about this app is that I don’t get notified about half the time that my meter has expired. With the way my school parking is, if I go more than 15 minutes without paying I have a very high chance of getting a ticket. I think it would be a great addition to the Parkmobile app if there was a feature to let you know once you’ve gotten a citation so you don’t keep paying all day long when you’ve already been ticketed. Or, come up with a way to have an all day parking choice so everyone doesn’t have to keep their phone on them at all times. Thanks!

- Not paying to park, paying to reserve a spot.

First time using the app, looked on the map for a place I wanted to park it stated it would be $25. Set my time 6 PM to 1 AM. Paid my $25. I was driving oversize vehicle so I knew in New York they will charge extra for that. Arrived a half an hour early to pick up my vehicle. Was charged $32 extra. The complete bill was $57. The parking attendant informed me that he would be charging $10 more for oversize vehicle, which is what I expected. What I didn’t expect was to be pay more than $25 to park as per the app. I called customer support. The support person was not at all knowledgeable or understanding my situation. It’s took her 25 minutes to finally tell me that I did not pay $25 to park but just to reserve the spot. Not at all what I thought I was going to pay. Also if she just said that to me immediately I wouldn’t be waiting around for 25 minutes. It was a freaking nightmare at 1:30am in the morning. I will never use this app again and I suggest you do the same.

- Not the easiest

Love the ease and convenience of being able to pay remotely with your phone and even extend your time remotely – probably one of the best perks. Disappointed that Apple Pay is not a default and that it is up to each municipality and or area to accept Apple Pay. I thought the app simply wasn’t working until I stumbled upon a list of cities that Apple Pay is accepted. It turns out only a tiny parking lot is all that takes Apple Pay in the City of St. Louis. All of their public street parking requires a credit card on file. Not awesome. Signage and zone numbers need to be tightened up quite a bit. I’m finding more often than not I still have to get out of the car to figure out where the hell I’m parked or what zone I’m in because you certainly can’t read the tiny little signs that are facing the wrong direction instead of angled toward the car.

- It’s Broken!

Today I went into Washington DC and found almost all parking now either credit card or using this app to pay for parking. As I did not have the app or have sufficient time to go through the download and then signup process, I simply paid by credit card. The maximum time allowed was 3 hours but I needed more than that so I noted the ParkMobile zone number so I could use it later. About 15 minutes before my meter was scheduled to run out of time, I downloaded the app and went through the signup process. That went fairly smoothly. The problem came when I went to pay for my current parking place. I entered the ParkMobile zone number, but I kept getting error messages saying that the number was not valid. As I had walked quite a way from where I had parked, I quickly Ubered back to where I had parked and confirmed the zone number was correct. Really bad app if you can’t pay for your parking if your not standing right next to your car.

- Use with caution

I Paid for a parking spot yesterday via this app and when I came back to my car, I had a parking ticket on the hood. Made sure everything was right in the app (I.e. I was in the right lot, the license plate was correct) and all was well. So I sent a dispute to the parking service, who then requested an image of the receipt. When I went back to the app, the receipt was completely gone from my history. So now I’m paying for a parking spot and the ticket as well. Update: I spoke with customer support and they were able to pull up a receipt for me. Big kudos on that! The ticketing company accepted it but informed me that they weren’t using parkMobile anymore even though it was still online. Just be careful, because some of the parking lots in the database aren’t completely up to date.

- Horrible! Women don’t trust it.. please. In safe and inaccurate!

I would give no stars if I could! App lead me farther away from my car to a unknown area! The state I was in I was visiting and I trusted this app and it completely failed me on the first time using it I am highly disappointed that my safety was compromised and called “customer care” and the care part shouldn’t even be there I was told not to trust the app saying even though there was a “finding your car” button provided to use the company was careless telling me they’re “nation wide” and have no access to telling me where posted “zone” signs and the only thing they could do for me was have me call local police for assistance. As a woman I would not recommend! Please think twice before using this app! My 5 dollar trip turned into 50 dollar mess because I had to use a ride share program driving in circles looking for the car they told me I could find on the app! Negligence and carelessness on their end!

- BE CAREFUL - weak credit card protections

I’ve used ParkMobile for some time and had entered my credit cards for easy access when parking. Last weekend I was listening to a podcast while my iPhone was in my pocket. Somehow the ParkMobile app managed to process not one but TWO charges for parking in a complete other state for $9.95 each! Worse their system tells you for help to email them and then you can an email saying they don’t offer help by email anymore. (Then update your we website!) While I was willing to compromise on paying one of the charges thinking I had to share responsibility for not ensuring my screen saver was on, you would think they’d protect against the system charging duplicate parking for the SAME vehicle in the SAME zone at the SAME time. But no - they say it is my problem. Buyer BEWARE! Given they have a monopoly on my area, I’ll be obligated to use it but I’m setting payment only to Apple Pay which would require my thumb or passcode.

- dissatisfied

I have been a very frequent user of parkmoblie, and had been happy with it. Not long ago I used it for the to reserve a parking garage for the first time, but the access road was closed due to emergency road work, preventing any access to the garage. I couldn't park as planned and was late for my work. I requested a refund from parkmoblie, knowing it wasn't their fault, and with some difficulty (was told to call the garage, which told me to call parkmobile, repeat three times) they granted a "one time" refund. The difficulty with which this was granted and the customer service, which made me feel like I was a perpetrator and the beneficiary of some grand gesture in form of a refund, makes me much less likely to ever use the app again. Instead of thanking me for my frequent use and apologizing for what happened, I now am fearful that should that happen again they will not even give me the courtesy of listening.

- Double paying

If you have more than one vehicle in your account, it is way too easy to start a parking session with the wrong car, and I don’t see any way to change or cancel once you’ve started a session, so you end up having to pay twice. Edit: In response to the developer feedback, I have only ever seen one opportunity to change the car and it is at the final screen. In fact, I just went on the app and acted like I was going to start a session and still only see one chance to see what car is selected. You never manually select a vehicle, it is automatically selected, so there is a decent chance that if you are in a hurry, and the incorrect vehicle is chosen, you can start the session with the wrong vehicle chosen. Even if you catch the mistake right after starting a session, there is no way to edit the information. I’ve ended up having to double pay on two occasions the handful of times I’ve used the app.

- Uselessly User friendly

It’s nice and easy to pull up the zone and spaces, plus pay. However, if you run into any issues, there’s no help for you and you basically are stuck. Like quickly selecting the wrong vehicle, my bad. I fat fingered, got it. However, there’s nothing they can do. Absolutely nothing and no way to forgive or help work with human error. Plus the transaction fee is fairly steep compared to other parking apps. You can’t modify the vehicle, stop the session, get the money back, nothing. This isn’t the first issue I’ve had, but it’s the first one I’m finally reporting. Much prefer MobileNow! Take note ParkMobile. Not that you’ll care because you’re making money whether or not people are happy, but if you want even more happy people using the app, try working with them a LITTLE bit. Obviously you’re doing something right with 4.4 stars, just not consistently enough for me.

- Horrible APP!

What would be one functionality of a parking app that would be just complete common sense? How to I extend my time. A simple button on the main screen where you see your time running out? Nope. Have to go through numerous articles in the help menu which still doesn’t address it. Tried this for the first and last time and still received a $25 citation from the city. Even showed them a picture of my car parked right under the sign with copies of my paid receipts. THIS APP DOES NOT WORK. I do respect the fact that you responded! Hats off to you! However, based on the majority of these reviews, there’s a ton of work to be done. The city took care of it for me and also mentioned they received numerous complaints about this App. I don’t honestly see how the reviews add up to 4.7. What you said sounds great but it’s impossible to see it on the App. Always room for improvement and I’m happy you are taking the steps to address these concerns.

- Really screwed up app, it used to be great

I don’t know what happened but they have really screwed up this app. It used to be easy. I pulled up to a regular parking location today and put in the zone. It asked me to “add a payment method “ which was odd because I have 3 on file. It didn’t say why none of those were good. It had a giant ad trying to sell me “pro” whatever that is and I could not access any of my 3 methods to pay, only “add”. When I clicked add there were 3-4 non standard payment methods that looked sketchy, plus PayPal and some kind of “wallet” which didn’t say what it was yet wanted me to enter my name and address with no further info. Help did nothing. I gave up and just drove two blocks to park in the free lot because I couldn’t figure out what was going on. Went to another location later in the day and all my payment methods were present and could be selected. I guess I just won’t use this app anymore if it is not reliable.

- Parking Meters Only!

I originally downloaded this app for using with parking meters in DC, and for that purpose ParkingMobile seemed reputable enough. I then made the mistake of trusting them for booking a space in a parking garage. I booked the space and was charged, but when I arrived at the garage, I was told that it was full and that the ParkMobile “reservation” was meaningless and would not be honored. When I called ParkMobile to complain, I was told that I would get a refund of the charge, since I was denied access, but apparently it was just a way to get me off the phone b/c I never, ever received a refund, even after a follow up call. So I ended up paying twice to park. Once to ParkMobile for a bogus “reservation”, and another to a garage which actually gave me what I paid for, namely, a place to park. And in the future I will give my business to ParkMobiles competitors, who seem as though they can handle this type of stuff.

- Unreliable App

This is the worst parking app I have ever used. There are a number of issues with this crap app. First, it does t seem to remember my log in info ever. Once I finally log into the stupid thing, it will tell me I have to input my card info (even though I have used it just the other day). Once I enter it, it takes forever to load and then tells me that card info is already on my account. Then when it comes to parking, I have received 2 parking tickets from my school. I take the shuttle from one campus to another. I would park, open the app, go through all the crap it makes you do to pay, walk to my bus and get on, it then would take forever to process a payment, just to tell me that the payment couldn’t be completed and would log me out of my account. This app has some serious issues and then need to be fixed. I would suggest just paying the ticket booth or parking machine cause this app is garbage.

- Terrible - do not bother

I used to use this app with no problem. Now it does not work. 1) it friezes on a spinning logo for minutes at a time 2) it logs you out constantly 3) it only sometimes accepts your password when you try to log back in 4) it suggests zones that are close to you and then says those same zones are not available near you 5) it will not take a new credit card (the “add card button” sometimes just does not work) 6) similarly with the add PayPal button 7) the login screen often just erases what you have entered when you try to log in instead of logging you in 8) at some point they added a “feature” where “this zone does not allow back to back parking” which defeats the whole helpfulness of the app... the ability to re-up your parking without going back to your car. This app is now way more hassle than it is worth. Keep a roll of quarters in your car and don’t bother with this app!

- WORST SYSTEM EVER

Yesterday I was in LEWES Delaware trying to find a parking spot which I did however when I downloaded your app it asked for my email and a password which I provided and of course, it said invalid password. OK, so I went back put my email address in and said forgot password. You sent me a link in my email I change the password went back to the sign in and needless to say, the same BS went on for a good 40 minutes. Just around and around and around and one vicious circle. No matter what I tried I could not get in to the app it would not allow me to enter an email password. I was there for a good 40 minutes and people were passing by and everyone I met said “oh God, this system is the ABSOLUTE WORST!!!!! If I ever see a meter with your logo on it I will be sure NOT to park in that space. I wouldn’t care if I had to walk 20 blocks to get a parking space so as to not have to put up with all this aggravation!! NEVER AGAIN!

- terrible design and customer service

this app needs serious work and needs to focus on the user experience. i was putting in the license plate and parking zone details and clicked start time. we took my friends car, so i added his license plate details and double checked to make sure everything went through. i clicked the info button and it had selected my car by mistake. the app would not let me change the license plate one in session, even though i had just submitted it seconds before. it also would not let me cancel. i looked at the FAQs and decided to use the chat box after not finding answers. the representative, gilbert, was telling me there was nothing he could do. i said if i can’t get a refund or credit, i asked if i could submit a ticket for the bug to tech support. he stopped answering me and i never got a response. i won’t be using this app again, i’d rather park a mile a way and walk.

- Profit over people built into their design

I parked in DC, paid for my spot, I walked into the restaurant and was told it was illegal to park on the street during rush hour. I contacted ParkMobile for a refund, I should not be able to book in zones that have illegal time frames. The response from their chat support: “i checked into this for you and unfortunately we are not able to cancel any sessions created or refund the fees you pay through Parkmobile. Parkmobile is merely a pass-through and tracking functionality for those funds; they go directly to the parking operator for your area.” This is a joke, it is a choice the company has to design it this way or not. It is something you (ParkMobile) built into the design of your platform - therefore you built a poorly designed platform- design is a choice at every level - you have have prioritized profit over people’s individual best interest. Another example of how NOT to do it.

- Zip code bug

Didn’t want to accept my zip code from Canada even if it’s good

- Sucks

Everything sucks about this app, not very user friendly when you have to press the button 77 times to get it to go through.

- Sloppy Design

Haven’t used it yet but really love having my compliant password rejected because you don’t mention that underscores are excluded in addition to the other requirements. Also your list of states is mis-sorted. We’re off to a bad start, guys.

- Brutal app

Your app needs work, you have to zoom in to make fields active and things that should have buttons don’t. I’ll most likely stop using the app to pay when I can use other methods unless you make improvements. Took me longer to use the app than pay with the machine at the lot.

- Crashes constantly and unable to end parking

Typical parking business - impossible to navigate and constantly doesn’t work.

- Park mobile

Love the app

- Cannot start parking session

Takes me about 15-20 tries of tapping “park now” before it accepts either my credit card or visa debit

- Review

Wonky app. Didn’t accept my credit card.

- Veeeery buggy!

I use the app to park at Uni and have to push the pay for parking buttons at least 5 times every time I want to start a new session. It’s extremely slow even though my internet connection is not. Overall: It’s convenient but slow and frustrating

- Payment issues

Payment doesn’t go through and keep giving an error and can’t park through the app because of payment issues.

- Complicated

I am from Canada and will park here once and it took me 22 min to create and download the app,,, no huest by pass to pay

- Love it

A great app! Definitely beats paying at a parking meter. It does take 2-3 tries for my credit payment to go through, but it’s no big deal. I just make sure to pay before I leave the car. Affordable and great.

- review

hard to pay wotn debit card. site is not too freiendly

- Fix please

It takes about 5-10 times for your payment to go through. Creates opportunities for parking tickets

- Great

So easy to use, so easy to park.

- Constantly says my payment method is not working

I have tried 3 separate cards. Finally on the FIFTH try with one of the cards I already entered, it works. What am I supposed to do otherwise? Have my car towed? Bull****

- What a rigamorole, serious deterrent.

Apps apps and more apps takes 10 minutes and every city has a new app. Sucks.

- Downtown Tempe

Super easy to use.

- Simple to use

Easy and fast

- Not reliable

Always have to delete app and reinstall

- Payments

The payments rarely go through on the first time, so I often have to re-enter it up to 7 times. Asides from that, once the payment goes through it works well.

- Payment failures

The payments usually fail and that is very disturbing

- Dr

Easy to sign up and use. For Canadians enter 00000 for your zip code

- Struggle

Had to attempt to set parking payment eight times! Super frustrating

- Excellent app works well

A must for everyone. No more fumbling and guessing how long you need to park

- Garbage

This app is useless. Refuses to accept my credit card over multiple attempts. Seems like this is well recognized. Pathetic.

- Frustrating.

It doesn’t work more often than it does. So frustrating.

- Worst app

It would be cool if it didn’t take me 20 tries to pay for my parking every morning. Which is the sole purpose of this app.

- Keeps going downhill

This app keeps getting worse. It used to be so easy to use. Now it is so cumbersome. I don’t like all of the pages needed to park. Much prefer when all of the info needed is on one page. Also, every time I use it now, which is multiple times per week, it takes about 4 tries for it to take payment too. No matter which card I use.

- Good but annoying

It’s a good and useful app, however having to put in my card information each time is rather annoying. I have the same card saved twice, just put in my third time. I have to keep deleting my card info and redoing it each time.

- Good App, Service charges are too high

Service charges are too high for limited parking time. (0.70$ for parking 0.41$ service charge).

- Unreliable

Consistently does not accept my credit card as payment even when my card works perfectly if I insert it to the meters at the lot... honestly believing I have an app that I can depend upon to pay to extend my parking when I can’t go back to my car has caused me more than 1 ticket

- Find my car

App crashes when attempting to use find my car, other than the works great

- Sucks

It doesn’t even work half the time

- Fix the transaction system

Always takes 5-6 tries to get my payment to go through. Leaves me worried I’ll be charged more than once.

- Can’t choose Canada when sign up

Our retarded university parking server select this retarded parking app and when sigh up for master pass inside the app, it’s only American. Worst app even used

- Sucks! Do not count on the find my car app!

Sucks! We are not from the area. After exploring Miami Beach the app made us walk 17 blocs to the wrong direction with a 2 year old and a 4 year old. Do not use the locate my car app. Sucks! Paid 20$ for a driver to find the Starbucks near where we were parked to find our car.

- Not Easy to Use

Tried to download this app. Kept saying I had errors, which I didn’t. Got customer service and the person on the other end was very helpful and got me going. Without his assistance I never would have been able to proceed. And just for the record, I am quite computer literate.

- Nice

Good app

- App won’t respond

The app keep signing out my profile, take me more then 3 try to close and open the app again just to get my profile sign in. No improvements whatsoever. After all we have no choice to choose since they are the only app available. SUCH A SHAME !!!

- Farce of a company

This organization takes no accountability for their product. Their app fails, so the parking lot owner issues a ticket. The ticket issuer then places the onus on the vehicle owner to obtain proof from ParkMobile that the app failed. ParkMobile’s customer service line only leads to dead ends and they don’t respond to email inquiries, despite repeated attempts at following directions issued on their customer service line. Avoid using this app, it will only cost you additional money.

- Payment

Payment never works, even with different cards, you have to try to pay multiple times before something finally goes through.

- Worst experience ever

I hate your app. It took 8 tries to get a payment in, 20 minutes later I probably got a ticket while dealing with this.

- Rarely works!!!!

It’s easy enough to get setup, but to actually pay for your parking is impossible!!! Considering a lot of these machines are in University parking lots, no one has time to sit and fiddle with parking for 20 min or can afford to pay the tickets when you finally give up and just run to an exam without paying!!! Terrible app!!

- Unreliable

Half the time it doesn’t work, and the other half the service is down. I use this app to park for school and I’ve gotten two tickets as a result of this app malfunctioning

- What’s the point of a review?

The app is constantly rejecting my payment when my cards are fully valid. Just buggy. But what’s the point of a review? This app has a monopoly on the areas I park, so I don’t see what will change.

- This sucks

Takes long time to enter info. Difficult or impossible to edit. Really bad.

- Junk

This app is a pice or junk. Between the app and machine not working it was near impossible to park. Considering the nose bleed prices of parking I’d expect better.

- Credit card issues

Most often the app rejects my credit card.

- Inconvenient glitch

In theory this app is great and it worked perfectly for me at first. But for at least the past year, I have to close and open the app a few times in order for it to accept my payment. This happens every time I use it and on at least one occasion it would not work at all and I was late for work as I had to spend time figuring out a different method to pay for my parking. I have notified the developers twice and not received a response.

- Functional, no panacea

1. Your 8801 kiosk does not calculate days by 24 hour periods > Apparently that's Amtrak's policy 2. Your app does not support extending an existing (kiosk) purchase via the app > I figured it out, my bad 3. It is not possible to make a reservation by searching via zone number, as entering the desired address only ties the user back to the closest lot via location > Still doesn't work, but I think it has more to do with the lot itself. I would hope that the app would filter these locations out. EDIT: I've added a star because the developer wrote back. I've adjusted my expectations and the app is functional now. Also, MeterUp is really good. Hopefully this one catches up.

- There’s an issue with the log in

I have been signing in with no problem until today when it randomly logged me out and won’t let me log back in saying that my login is invalid. When I try to select “forgot my password” it tells me the email I’m providing is invalid. Ive been using the same credentials for almost 6 months and have been parking in the same lot in the same space for almost 6 months. The app isn’t even picking up the closest zones and spots that are near my office (close to where I park). This isn’t the first time this has happened but it’s getting ridiculous now. EDIT: I was able to log in but now my payment info is erased and I cant use my apply pay now? This is so stupid. How do you offer you can use Apple Pay but no way to actually add it. Honestly if the app isn’t usable just don’t release it until the bugs are worked out. Now I have the privilege of getting a ticket.

- Mediocre

I have had mediocre success with this app when it works I love it but has few times it gave me error notice try again I finally gave up and got change for meter only to later be charged multiple times for the “tries” I had even screen shot the messages I was getting bc if I got ticket (before I found change )was going to show it as my defense When I got charged I contacted app and was told sorry we are not responsible for any issues we don’t do refunds (again I had screen with date and time) so feel like it’s sketchy but still use it time to tine when I don’t have change but know better if I get any messages not to trust it

- Clever time saver

I was skeptical at first. How can you rely on an app to pay for your parking? I tried it out - it was straightforward as I made my selection. I had one upfront question about a receipt but that got answered when my parking time was up. I received my receipt by email. I can think of only one downside to using an app for this... what if the internet wasn’t working or the app was on a maintenance break, but I wouldn’t expect that to happen too often and besides, if you use a VISA card for parking, you could have similar problems. Overall, I’m very pleased with this app and would recommend it to anyone who has reliable access to the internet.

- Consistency issues are a problem

When ParkMobile works, it’s a great thing - convenient, simple and efficient. But there are times when, for no discernible reason, it doesn’t work. At those times, ParkMobile may refuse to accept a zone number as valid, even though you’re taking it directly from a meter, or may require you to input all of your information again, including credit card info and license number, as if you were a new client, which is very time consuming. When these things happen (more often than one might hope) there’s no amount of rebooting or starting over that will help. You just have to hope you have enough quarters for the meter this time. Help, ParkMobile!!

- The price of convenience?

App is pretty easy to set up and fairly reliable (there have been a few times that the app wouldn't process my parking and I was already on the train). The reminders are good to have if you need them - I pay a daily rate so no expirations. If you need to map where you left your car maybe you shouldn't be using technology! My two main complaints are the 7% usage fee (For me that's the equivalent of almost two weeks worth of parking) and the bug that keeps ignoring (they’re shown but can’t be used) my previously entered payment methods. Tech support keeps telling me the issue’s been resolved but that’s not the case.

- Fixed BMW iDdrive 7 app

I tried everything and so did BMW and ParkMobile. Finally found what worked... In the iOS ParkMobile app on iPhone, go to Vehicles, Disconnect from BMW. Then go to Home screen in the app and Sign Out. Then Force Quit ParkMobile app. Then open ParkMobile on iPhone, Log In. Go to Vehicles, BMW ConnectedDrive, Log In and when it asks for vehicle, select your vehicle from list. It will show Disconnect from BMW again. Then DO NOT Disconnect but click BMW ConnectedDrive again. Log In and select your vehicle again. It will pop up an Error message but that’s fine. Now close the app and go to your car and on the iDrive Apps screen the ParkMobile should work and has a menu

- Updates are infuriating

Every time the app is updated I go through a many minute process to start using the app again because for some reason my information has been dropped or needs updating. This always seems to happen just when I need to park quickly. Sitting in my vehicle fussing with the app when I need to get on to my destination is infuriating. Often the new interface pops up looking totally unfamiliar and only settles back into something like its former self after unpredictable delays. This has happened several times in the last six months!!! I want the app to work reliably and without delays. Are all of these updates really needed? I’d find another parking app except that my town and university only accept ParkMobile. I am a hostage - please make me feel better about the constant frustration updates.

- Buggy, no recourse for fines

I live downtown, so public parking is an everyday need for me, my girlfriend, and visitors. Our city chose to integrate with this app a few years ago, and I’ve been forced use it or nothing at all. The city offers extended time payments that are only available through the app. Unfortunately, I’ve received at least 5 parking tickets because of problems with the app and I have no recourse. Several times, the app didn’t save the parking session that I had just booked. I’ve caught it once as it happened, but the other times resulted in parking tickets. I had an older iPhone at the time, so I’m thinking it got bogged down before the transaction could get recorded to the server. The only way I could have caught it was to check that I got an email, but I’m often in a hurry to get somewhere right after I park my car. At least 3 other times, the app defaulted to select my girlfriend’s car instead of my own, so while I had paid ParkMobile, I still got a ticket because there was no payment tied to my car. I tried appealing to the city in all cases, but they only directed my to contact the app developers. I would absolutely use a different service if I could, but these guys are the only option since the city chose to use them exclusively.

- Could be better

In general, this app is pretty useful, but I’ve had problems with it freezing, logging me out, and not processing payment when I thought it had gone through. My biggest annoyance with it though, is when you have more than one car connected to the app. You chose which car you are parking later in the process and it is really easy to miss that. I *REALLY* wish it would ask you which car you are parking FIRST, then move forward with location, duration, etc. I just barely avoided a ticket today, because I had my husband’s car, not mine, and hadn’t checked to switch the cars. This isn’t the first time I’ve paid for parking for the wrong car. I realize the fault is mine, but the app could make it much more obvious.

- What’s wrong with the people who own this app?!

In spite of paying more for the convenience, my husband and I have use the app for sometime now. However, they made unauthorized charges for 2 parking sessions when there was no charge at the lot those days. This was due to the holiday season. One of the times I completed the transaction but then reached out to them asking them to cancel the charges. The 2nd time I only began to enter a parking session, noticed the sign and never completed the process. Yet, we were charged both times. Emailed asking for an adjustment. Never heard back. When we got the AMEX bill I disputed the charges only to find the next time I tried to use the app I was blocked. For a company that charges a premium for parking, to block a customer who’s been using them for years now seems really stupid. And we try not to do business with stupid companies! Wake up!!

- Concept good, but some serious downsides

The idea of the app is very good and I have found it very useful. However, I have a major complaint that has really bothered me, the fact that you can not adjust anything once you have submitted for the parking space. Today, I had to pay twice for a parking spot because I paid for the wrong license plate the first time and they wouldn’t let me change it. Thus requiring for me to pay for a whole new spot for my correct license plate, while still being charged for a different car that wasn’t there. This is super frustrating, at least give like a 10 minute grace period to make adjustments (like for wrong license plate, or parking spot/zone, etc.). I understand that this is a business trying to make money, but understand that people are human and make mistakes and treat us like so.

- Can’t extend parking time....resulting in a ticket

Today I paid for 2 hours of parking. My parking expired at 3:59. As I have done nearly every time I knew I would need to pay for additional time, I checked to see if I had an option to extend my time. No luck. The second I received a notification that my parking expired I accessed the app and when I tried to access “set duration” I received an error message. I tried several times and finally exited the app and tried again. It worked and I activated the final hour of parking at 4:02. When I arrived at my car I had a ticket for $25 written at 4:01. If I had been able to extend my parking or if the app hadn’t malfunctioned, I wouldn’t have received the ticket. Not worth fighting the ticket because you have to pay the fine in advance plus court costs. If your ticket gets reversed they’ll refund your ticket. You’re still out court costs.

- Good in theory but beware!!!

I’ve used this a few times with success. BUT BEWARE!!!! There’s no option to choose what car you’re using when you park. I had added a rental car but did not select it as a default vehicle and got a $64 parking ticket as a result! Luckily the parking guy took pity on me and let me off with a warning and told me this happens to a lot of people Second, when you extend time there’s no way to prove when you extended it. It said that I had extended my time after the original time had expired, which was the first point I was trying to make when contesting my ticket. If there was a parking history option that would be better since your credit card doesn’t show the time of the transaction. If there is a way to pay manually with hard proof, do that instead of using this app

- Does not understand

At first I loved this app - so easy to pull out the phone and enter the info. Lately though it has not been reliable. It has asked me to sign in and use my fingerprint ID, then just keeps buffering. If I enter my password then I don’t have a valid account. Then, the app does not recognize when I am in a zone, standing right in front of the machine! Twice in a week I have been stranded and had to pay with a credit card - totally negating the need for the app! Last week it charged me when I could not get on line and also used my car edit card to pay - double charged. I have updated the app and restarted my phone - nothing seems to work - very frustrating!

- Keep me logged in/face recognition

Ive used this for several years in Santa Cruz, Ca now and have liked it for the most part. I have been burned by the meter too many times and 35 cents is worth it to avoid a parking ticket. However, when they updated to a new version a year or two ago, the app doesn’t seem to save my login info for very long (I only use it every month or two). I have to look up my password every time I park and by that time I could have made change at the change machine. I’ve marked the fingerprint and face recognition in both my phones but it doesn’t ever work either. Just a bit time consuming when you’re trying to be on time for an appointment, etc.

- Customer Service is Fantastic

I’ve been using this app daily for 6 months to pay for my parking and I’ve only ever had one issue. Last week, there was a connectivity issue and my payment didn’t go through. The customer service team was super responsive on social media and walked me through a solution. In the case that you experience an issue with this app, just reach out to customer service. They’re incredible, responsive and very supportive. I will continue to use this app whenever I park anywhere. It makes parking (which can be stressful at my busy train station) easy and convenient. Thanks Parkmobile!

- When it works, it’s great. Otherwise extremely aggravating.

Once again, app won’t allow me to park without adding a new payment method, and only gives me the option of adding Visa Checkout which I don’t use or want. Under payment methods, it shows my current MasterCard, PayPal, and a $9.30 credit in my ParkMobile Wallet. What is wrong with the payment methods already on file??? (Btw, the app is updated and so is my OS and phone.) This has happened to me many times over the years, and I see in your reviews that I’m not alone. If this were a free app I would be more understanding, but we pay a fee every time we use it, so I expect not to experience the same problem repeatedly. You know about this problem so why don’t you fix it once and for all?

- Easy to use, but designed to rack up parking tickets

I like the convenience of parking without having to use cash. But if you end up parking for longer than you originally planned, the app makes it very hard to extend the amount of time for your parking session. You can’t extend the time before your session expires. And the last time I tried to extend my time after my session expired, it said “You can’t park twice in a row in the same space.” This seems like a ripoff designed to generate more parking tickets. If I put in a quarter in the meter I could park all day as long as I keep feeding quarters, but apparently you can’t do that with this app.

- Needs Work!

Apple Pay does not work, extremely difficult to delete an old credit card payment form, and would not allow me to use another, active, working card that I had on file. Finally was able to when I figured out how to delete the old, expired card, and make the current card the default card. My current card was on file, but would not work until I made default card. It worked before that way. Why make it so difficult, and why doesn’t Apple Pay work? Really could be better. Great concept, but not very functional! One star for level of difficulty.

- Irritating app

When I first downloaded this app it worked perfectly. I had issues. It did exactly what it is supposed to do. NOW...the app never finds the nearby zones. I have to remember the zone number to manually type it in every day. I turned off certain notifications and it still sends them to me. It completely lost my payment methods when I wanted to pay but when I looked in my profile it showed my payment methods right there. It lost the cars in profile. It has just been a mess. I contacted their customer service and the rep asked me to uninstall and reinstall the app. When I did that it brought back my payment methods but it still doesn’t show my nearby zones or my recent activity. It’s absolutely annoying.

- Parking not available at this time

I was unfortunate to have been visiting during the time that Myrtle Beach still required paid parking in October. No matter which zone I entered into the app, it would automatically go to a no parking available page. This is the off-season with tons of parking spaces however not a single nearby zone had parking available. I’d check days later and it’s the same thing. I would’ve gone with an actual parking meter if this app was not the sole method to pay for parking in the area I was in. EDIT: If that’s the case, that the app turns off parking based off what Myrtle Beach told you. Maybe you should have the app tell the user. Because Myrtle Beach signs state otherwise. That paid parking is still required. Different people sat in their cars in several lots as if they were keeping watch. And I was not taking the risk of being towed.

- App not always reliable.

I use the app daily, sometimes more than once a day to park around Miami Beach. However, on a few occasions now, I’ve been given a ticket even when the parking has been correctly paid for. The problem being, the machines that the officers use to check on whether you’ve paid for your parking don’t always have the latest information. The machines are slow. I even tested this out the other day with a in a parking lot. I paid for my parking, then went over to the officer and asked him to make sure the payment had gone through. It had not gone through. I’ve just also had another parking citation dismissed. Back in June, I paid to park for one hour just off Lincoln Rd. Upon returning to my vehicle with almost 20mins still left to park, I was being issued a ticket. Of course, once the ticket is printed there is nothing the officer can do. He agreed with me that I had indeed paid for my parking and still had time left, but his machine hadn’t updated and showed, even after 40mins, that I had not paid. So even though I use this app daily, I’m not happy with how information is updated so slow.

- What happened?

This app used to be great! Now, whenever I choose my zone, it says “add payment method” even though I already have cards on file. What is worse is the only methods it lets me add are PayPal, Visa Checkout and Masterpass. I just want to use my credit cards! I deleted my credit cards on file and re-added them. No go. I just stood outside my parking spot for ten minutes trying to make the app work. It used to work. Why doesn’t it work anymore? What am I supposed to do, walk over to the pay station 30 feet away? Madness! This app is currently useless, so it gets one star. I will give it five when if it works again.

- Horrible App

What app doesn't have a stop time but have an "extend time" button. I called customer support and wasted my time when they couldn't fix the problem. When initially speaking to the representative who isn't even based in the US 🙄 she could have told me initially that the problem couldn't be fixed why go through the whole verification finding my location when you really couldn't stop my transaction spent over 10 mins on the phone to say "once it was started it can not be stopped" and when asked to speak to her supervisor she made me wait for one minute just to hear her voice again "acting" like the supervisor! Straight bull ! DO NOT USE THIS APP UNTIL THEY ADD A STOP BUTTON TO THE TIME! They will charge you even though you mistakenly put the wrong car on the meter even though the other car you wanted to add is on the account.

- Amazingly convenient!!!

Amazing. Seriously. Pulled into a parking space, didn’t have quarters. Employees of two nearby stores were not allowed to give me change for $2 (I understand that). Then I saw the app advertised on the meter... downloaded, opened, registered, and paid, all within 2 minutes. Super easy and user friendly. It allows you to extend your time thru the app, without even going back to the car! You can have a reminder sent to you when time is expiring — you choose how much time in advance. Seriously a life saver, and in my opinion, so much better than pay stations!

- Fatal flaw

While this app has a lot going for it, unfortunately it has a serious design flaw which has cost me $$$ and forces me to go with a one star rating. The flaw is that if you park as I do at a New York State MTA lot, weekends are free. Thus if you leave your car over the weekend and want to say park for two days, Monday and Tuesday, you have to wait until Sunday eve to pay otherwise the app incorrectly charges you for the free weekend time. This means I have to set various reminders to alert me when I should start parking in the app. This flaw again cost me big time this weekend when I was distracted and failed to heed my reminders. The need to set reminders to use the app is a useless step which would be trivial to correct. However, although I've contacted the developers on multiple occasions to request a fix, they have ignored the request. This, one star.

- Got a parking ticket

NOT WORTH IT!! Pay parking by cash or card if you can! This company is awful at communicating with parking authority. I paid for the maximum amount of parking, and still got a ticket from parking authority. I contacted customer service and was told that they had taken care of it. A few months later, I receive another ticket proposing license suspension and a raised ticket price because of the unpaid citation. I contacted customer service again to see if they could reimburse or compensate for the ticket amount, which was $55. They told me that they don’t “manage parking violations” (well obviously 🙄) and cant compensate for the money I had to pay because they “don’t benefit from parking violations”. They only could put in a ticket to speak to someone higher, but that takes 24-48 hours. I’m really disappointed in customer service and I’m now $55 poorer.

- Good but needs to be better

Parkmobile is convenient, but if you make a mistake there is no way to get your money back. That said, their software once malfunctioned and they refunded my money for that. If you have multiple cars, You have to be very careful: it’s easy to put money on the wrong car, and you will get a ticket. That should be made clearer in the app. I was once ticketed in a rainstorm while sitting in the car trying to get the app to load. I fought the ticket but didn’t win. Another time it didn’t load quickly enough and I was ticketed while walking away from the car. Use this app carefully or you will pay plenty extra for the convenience.

- Not as paperless-friendly as it seems

Made a reservation for parking for the LA Marathon. The email instructions and order instructions both stated I could show my mobile reservation or print it out. Of course to save paper I decided to use my mobile device. When I arrived at to the parking they said they could only accept printed reservation barcodes. I had to pay $25 on site to park there or try to drive around to find cheaper parking before the marathon shuttles all left. I called the assistance line and Lillian tried to tell me I was supposed to print out my reservation. I explained they clearly stated in the email I could print or show my mobile device. She said the best they could do was refund my online purchase of $10. Hopefully this doesn’t happen to other people, whether it’s their poor communication or a shady parking lot.

- Love the app - wish there was a sound alert

We volunteer evenings in a basement in downtown DC & find this app incredibly helpful - it saves us from running out every 2 hours to fill the meter. Do wish it was as fast as it was before you updated it (the old simple version was better for our purposes). Would love a couple of changes: 1. Understand dc blocks are short but it rarely offers us the right numbers for the block we’re parking on. 2. Wish the alert that time is running out wasn’t silent - I have to keep an eye on the clock just as if I were feeding the meter with quarters.

- Went downhill

The Parkmobile app used to be great but then they added a bunch of bells and whistles that ruined it. For example, now there is some sort of GPS function that is supposed to find the parking zones near you. However, whenever I try to use this feature, the app spins and spins. If I try to type in the zone number, like you used to be able to do, I get a message saying there are no recognized zones near me —even though the App’s own GPS just listed the same number!! I also went through an extensive period of time where the Parkmobile app kept asking me to sign in again and kept telling me my password was wrong. argh. The team behind Parkmobile should make the app beautifully simplistic again, we’re all you have to do is type in the zone number you see on the meter. Meanwhile, I’m back to carrying rolls of quarters. Oh brother...

- Still received a parking citation

I just received a parking ticket in Ocean City, Maryland after using your app to pay to park. Now the reason is my fault. Because I have multiple cars in my account on the Park Mobile app and I selected the wrong vehicle for the meter. However I think you should make selecting the proper car part of the transaction procedure when checking out. This way people who use your app to pay are able to make sure the correct car is selected before paying for the meter. *Update* after receiving a response from the app developer I now see where you can select the proper vehicle to set the meter for. Thank you for your help!

- Don't do the "Pro" version. Free ver works good.

Earlier versions of this app sucked, but they seemed to iron out the "confirmation of payment" issue. That being said, the app charges a "convenience fee" for each transaction, including adding more time. This can come in handy though on a nasty weather day, and the 30 cents extra may be worth not having to fumble with the machine, or, adding more time to the meter. "PRO" version is a waste being that they promise a "reduced" convenience fee, and "show available parking" option, but no such luck on either. I'm cancelling to Pro version soon. SIDE NOTE ABOUT THE METERS: You will still be given a parking slip from the meter even if street cleaning times prohibit it, unlike the NYC meters, which won't give you a slip during prohibited times. It's a $40 parking fine. PLUS, being that you enter your plate number in the machine (or online entering meter zone number) I imagine that a ticket officer may be alerted that your time had expired and visits the zone that you parked in looking for your plate. It's kind of like shooting fish in a barrel. (this is just a hunch while I research this more).

- Overpaid for parking even after I left before session ended

I use this app for the first time today and I get charged for 5 hrs ($9.85) because the app has no way to set a parking time for day 1 hr like normal meter would do if you used a Cc or quarters. I leave the stop after 1hr and then after several hours while checking my email I get receipt for $9.85 . Seriously how crap is this app. For a mobile app , the phone should be the default to notify about session ends and time limit expirations. Who members to look at emails. Maybe you should consider having a timer running like the iPhone native one so a user can see a countdown. I have used PayByPhone and honestly that’s way better and a no brainer. U park at a spot and when u come back u pay for the time you were there. No thinking on my part. That’s what’s apps are for!!!

- Monthly Charge

I am being charged $.99 each month on my credit card to use this app. After finally finding where to call I explained this to someone in India or wherever, and told him I wanted to cancel. After several trips to talk to manager he told me he cancelled it. But he did not cancel and I was notified that now I have the free app. I thought that the app WAS free or I would have never downloaded it. Lo and behold I just received another charge on my credit card. Now I have to spend another hour wasting my time trying to contact someone and straighten this situation and I am not happy. I will also be notifying my credit card company to let them know I should not be charged. I think that I used this app once and I did not upgrade to the master app. Your terms of service are so long it took 9 swipes to get through it.

- One major flaw

The app works great and is very convenient. However, I can’t count the number of times I’ve been in a rush and inadvertently paid for parking for my default vehicle when I’m parking a different vehicle. No big deal right? Just update the “parked” car within the app, right? Wrong! That’s not an option. Meaning that you have to pay AGAIN in order to not get a parking citation on the car you’ve actually parked. The app should either allow you to switch vehicles (even if limited to switching within the first 5 minutes of having paid), or it should prompt you to select a vehicle each time you pay. Either of these solutions would easily resolve this major flaw.

- App is simple, Execution is lacking

The app itself is great. Very easy to use and is significantly better than navigating meters and parking attendants. That’s where the good part has ended for me though. Multiple times I have reserved spots ahead of time but received parking citations in return. I have not once heard back after disputing the citations online (if you call it just tells you to go online). I’ve made them aware of the issue, they offer to research and call back with resolution, but as you’d guess I never hear back and continue to get citations. I’ve also made reservations and arrive to a full or blocked off lot which defeats the whole point of a reservation. I’m sure the experience varies from lot to lot, just be aware that my experience is very possible.

- App design flaw got my car towed out $175

My car was towed because I had made a next day reservation, a feature that I used the first time way back in August ‘18. I booked the reservation and Inputted a new vehicle. The app instead booked my old default vehicle and the confirmation didn’t show the license plate of which vehicle was booked. Later in the day my vehicle was towed and had to pay $175 to go pick it up. Called customer service multiple times but no one was able to help me. Finally, 3.5 months later today December 5 I got a email response that vehicle can’t be changed after booking, too bad. The thing is I added a new vehicle During the booking. The app was flawed back in August, and the customer service is a joke (3.5 month for response). Better to use ParkWhiz or SpotHero which usually have better deal anyways.

- Beware

I used this app to pay for parking and got a citation. Be careful to make sure the correct license plate is in the app. We parked my husbands car and I paid for parking and didn’t realize I had to update the plate number. They should place a warning on the confirmation page to alert you to the car you are driving. Now I’m out the money I paid for parking and my $45 citation. I tried to contest the citation and was told too bad, it was my fault I didn’t have the correct plate number. Too bad because I like this idea but it’s just not implemented correctly. I won’t use this app again!

- Bad design. Invasion of privacy.

This app tracks your car license plate and email address and shares it with other affiliated marketing companies. They will know where you live. This app is badly designed. From the very beginning. Account sign up process says at least 8 character password. However, when using a strong password longer than 8 characters and meets all the requirements, it still doesn’t take. Turned out that the app requires exactly 8 characters. Which is a very weak password system. All a hacker has to do is make sure is 8 chars and knows it contains 1 symbols, one capital letter and one lower case. If the front end of the app is so badly made, can only imagine how bad the security on the backend database will be. Do not pay using your card. Use Apple Pay so that your protected from this armature application.

- This app is terrible

I’ve been using this app for so long but now it’s causing me more trouble. For whatever reason every time I activate a session it does not show in Newark Parking Authority’s system. I’ve received two tickets in less than a month because their app does not sync well with Parking Authority. It is super inconvenient to pay two $45 tickets as a college student. I loved the convenience but I’m going to have to go back to using the actually meter since the app does nothing but cause me issues. Update: Parkmobile has assisted me greatly in regards to my two tickets. They went to bat for me and even got me my money back for both tickets. I’ve still decided to no longer use the app and just park in a lot to avoid the possibility of a ticket. But A+ for their customer service team helping me and making me happy.

- Avoid their “Reserve” function as it is useless

I made a reservation through this app for parking in NYC and they charged me $15. When I got to the SP+ garage, they not only were unable to find the reservation, but charged me $45. They told us they never have issues with ParkWhiz or ParkHero, only with this company. I got a refund for my $15 after their washed their hands clean saying they “do not control the parking operators”. What’s the point in having functionality that’s useless in their app? ParkMobile’s half baked product forced me to pay walk-in rates rather than the discounted one I was quoted on their app. I will be using ParkWhiz for my reservations for sure going forward, I’ve never had a problem with them and I am sure they “do not control the parking operators” either, they simply have a product that actually works.

- Use it all the time!

I work in the downtown Tampa, Florida area. I use this app for my parking needs. I can always add parking time without walking blocks from work in the heat or downpour of rain using the app. The only improvement I would like to see is 1- the ability to add 30 minutes. There are times I have to add and pay for a full hour when I only need 20 minutes. And the second thing that would be cool is ‘up to the minute’ updates on available parking spots. I would love to have ‘real’ time knowledge of what parking spots are available. Overall, it’s a great app. Thank you. 👍

- Great Parking APP

Great parking app with fantastic features to accommodate your most important needs while parking at Hollywood Beach, FL. I appreciate how you don’t have to return to your vehicle to add more time, its easy method of payment, the text/email reminders and its user friendly nature. And if you have trouble finding your vehicle when it’s super crowded at the beach, you can activate multiple map apps to assist you in finding you car! This is what they need in NYC where “feeding the meter” is a common and very disruptive occurrence! Thank you for using smart technology to make sense of the parking situation here in Florida!

- Convenient, cost effective, and informative

I’ve been using this app in Washington for three years now. This app is incredibly convenient. It tells you if the location is unavailable at the moment (so you don’t have to waste time looking at signs). It lets you know when your parking is expiring, and gives you the option to extend up to the maximum time. The one caveat is that sometimes it does log you out and has trouble connecting to the service (if you lose connection to your carrier). The one critical improvement I’d suggest is to add more cities to the app’s range.

- Love it; wish i could change the car at the last minute

Not telling you anything you don’t know by saying: this app is indispensable. Critical. Necessary. That is, if you have to park a vehicle. Just wanted to make an appeal for a feature, to cater to those bougie multi-vehicle households out there: please let us change or confirm the vehicle as a last step (or at least a toggle from the main screen). Dunno how many times now I’ve started a parking session, but for the wrong dang plate number, ‘cause last time I parked I had the ‘other’ car. Thanks for listening and congrats on a pretty slick app that makes life better.

- Inconsistent

I don’t use the app often, but I’ve had some bad experiences when I have. Early on it started two identical sessions, and double charged me. Wouldn’t a well run service have some constraints like the same car cannot park twice in the same space at the same time? This morning, it was all over the place. I think their web services are slow. It’d sit and think for ~10s, and then decide there was no data for a section: Logged in or not? You have no payment methods. Just kidding, here they are. Except that Masterpass card, it’s busted. Failures to add cards. Also, no Visa Checkout on iOS 12! No favorite zones, oh wait, there they are. This zone doesn’t cost anything! This zone accepts ApplePay. Yeah, you have ApplePay setup, but I won’t let you use it. This zone doesn’t have any durations to choose from. Did you pay for it or not? Just gonna leave you on the payment screen, maybe you’ll start more than one session. You have no history. You have no active sessions. Oh wait, there’s one. Hope it’s just one! Looked for a status page, to see if they really were having server issues. Nothing.

- Took my money

I do not write reviews very often. This app seemed very easy to use and setup. I inputted the zone# and space# EXACTLY as it was listed on the meter. I even had my girlfriend triple check it. After paying the app said “Time will display on the meter”, however, the time I paid for never displayed and it kept saying ‘Expired’. I waited twenty minutes and it never changed. Eventually I used the ‘Find my car’ function to see that the meter was supposedly two streets over. I walked two streets over to try and find the meter, but there was no meter even on the street. All in all, this app basically took my money, didn’t put funds onto the meter I was parked at and PAID for, and then said I had paid for some meter that didn’t even exist. First and last time using this mobile parking app.

- Don’t Give In

It’s nice and convenient to use an app for parking, but parkmobile takes advantage of its users by not allowing you to set time increments when parking. They only let you park for the “max” allowable time, which for me seems to be 12 hours. Regardless of the time of day or actual hours of the meter, parkmobile will not let you select a stop or hour interval before purchasing. It’s extremely easy to forget that you paid via app, especially after a few hours of distraction. I have multiple times been charged for time after the actual meter has expired. Just get coins and do it the old fashioned way. That way you can be sure you’re not wasting a ton of money on their service fee or overcharges.
