Don’t buy. I bought this app some years ago. I upgraded my iPhone and tried to redownload …it charged me again. Now I have iPhone 11pro. Whenever I want to download the it ask me another full amount for the full access.

Sounds great, but…….. I used to play with this a lot, but for away for quite a while. It only supports single channel USB interfaces. That is a pain, since my two channel USB interface has mic on Input 1 and Instrument on Input 2. There doesn’t seem to be an way to assign Input 2 with8n the app. I can use the iRig interface, but the sound is just not that great. Instead of buying a single channel USB interface, I may just have to let this one fade away and stick with my other effects apps. They have no problem recognizing the instrument input from my interface. My rating will probably improve if I can get this resolved.

Feeling ripped off - cannot restore purchases. I cannot restore my purchases due to a UI bug that they refuse to fix. I assume people are still making in-app purchases — be warned you will probably not continue to have access to those products if you get a new phone or reset your current one. Their email support has no solution except that they will ‘fix it in the next update, sorry about that.’ I got that useless email two months ago, and nothing since; and the current version is now a year old, so I have to assume it will never happen. At this point they are just scamming people and should be removed from the App Store. Shame on the owner.

DO NOT BUY!. I’ve paid for unlocking all gears a few years ago but have my phone changed, now there is NO restore purchase button anymore. There is no way to restore your purchase. Tried to contact support but no response at all. Disappointed.

No longer works with iOS 10. You can't add songs 'from your iPod' anymore, & crashes often. Also, they don't answer their helpline emails anymore (such as a fix to above). Time to use something else....

Free for a reason! Don’t say I didn warn you.. Read the reviews everyone that bought it leaves a bad review and the free people love it.

Previous purchases not showing up. Bought a couple pedals last year and they are no longer showing up

Love it. I love this app just wish they would add more stuff to it and say what amp, speaker cabinet, mic and pedals are based off of

Will not work on iPhone 7 w/o headphone jack.. I finally was able to restore all my purchases after the last update but the app will not recognize any "headphones" input using the lightning adaptor that comes with the phone. App keeps saying no input. Now i can't use the app at all. Please fix or make an update suitable for he iPhone 7.

Was the best amp sim for recording.. This app had real ability to add believable high-gain crunch to a direct signal. Now there is no way to restore purchases and the app is useless after a hardware update and the dev website support page no longer functions. Kind of a ripoff now.

Must Have. I can’t play real amplifiers anymore. This app has saved me 1000s of dollars in amp swapping. Thanks!

Horrible. When are you planning on FIXING THIS APP?? You are aware for so many year that the restoration purchase option doesn’t work and it’s funny that when I try to report the bug that option it’s BUGGED TOO , this is a big horrible joke,

Static and feed back a few months later.. I used it at first and it was great, then bam. Right when you least expected it static feedback was horrible and one of my headphones wasn’t working. I thought they were bad and if left open it will affect all other pedal apps. So you must close it before moving on to use any other. So far Tonebridge and Garage band have worked really well for me.

Support response kinda of slow. Upgraded to iPhone XS Max and could not restore purchases. Took a week for support to reply. They said there is a bug they will fix at next update but also showed me how to get around it and restore my purchases. On another note Peavey is no longer producing or supporting the AmpKit link.

Foot switcher. Please give free foot switcher for every amp. its too difficult to change from lead to clean bcs the button too small to handle

Avoid this app. My scenario is the same as many others. I spent $50 a year ago to get everything and now with my new phone I cannot restore any of the purchased items! Avoid this app unless you only want the basic free stuff it comes with. So sad to see this company fail so baldly..

Do Not Buy!!!!!. They have deleted the restore purchases on the app. So if you have more than one device you have to buy it again and again even for the same account.

Doesn’t sound good at all. This was One of the first guitar amp simulators for the iPhone. I bought a couple of an app purchases back when it first came out and it was OK for a while. However, none of the amps sound anything Nothing like the amps they’re supposed to be. They are also very noisy with lots of background noise as well. The bottom line is the sound quality is terrible. This was fine back in the early days of the iPhone, but today there are so many better quality choices on the App Store. Do yourself a favor and skip this app and go grab one of the many other dozens of guitar amp simulators out there.

Where’s the restore purchases button. I gave it 1 star because it doesn’t appear to let me restore my purchases. I spent a lot of money on this app. Let me know if I'm missing something.

Lost all purchases when upgraded to iPhone XS from iPhone X. Others have been having the same problem for over a year. There’s no posted solution online other than to contact agile for support.

Decent. The sounds you get currently are really good. Alas, the display is screwed up with the amplifier knobs in the way wrong spots. Plus they haven’t actually added any new gear in I don’t know how long.

Stole my money. I paid for the full package and now i cannot restore anything after i upgraded the phone. Looks like they have not updated the all in 4 years. Unbelievable :(

Well... I was upset as well when I couldn't restore my purchases , and not to long down the road they updated the app and my purchases were restored. I love this app , it has a good amount of effects and the price to get different bundles. Pedals , amp heads etc. isn't to bad. Check it out , you'll dig it! Strum on !

Finally an UPDATE!. I’m still using this app after so many years and it’s still working smoothly with iPhone7+ and latest iOS. I’m connecting my guitar thru AmpKit LiNK HD The effects sounds realistic just connect it to decent headphones or amp to fully enjoy! I hope Agile Partners will be active in supporting and developing this app because it’s a very good app. Also they should create a script that will automatically convert the regular AmpKit to AmpKit+ if the AmpKit+ Bundle Upgrade has been purchased.

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. I will be agreeing with last person on this review, time for a lawsuit. Customer support does NOT reach back. I had some money on this app and it will NOT give me an option to restore my purchases since I upgraded my device. This is the WORST company ever and Apple should take this off the App Store. I want this fixed or my money back!!!!!

Really cool tool.. Been using this when it 1st came out. Love the interface. With the new 2022 iPad Pro M2 the app is not working any more. With the M1 it worked. Loved the charging feature but now I’m looking for a usb to usb c adapter that will pass power and data.

Best iOS Amp Sim Hands Down. I have use this app for many years, and like others, have experienced some bumps along the way with restoring purchases. But all that was fixed long ago. Bottom line: the sound and feel for me is worlds better than the Bias stuff, AmpliTube or any of the others. It sounds better than many dedicated hardware amp modelers. I love playing through this and even use it live in some situations. I just HOPE the developers keep it alive!!

No chance of restoring in app purchases. Beware......if you change or reset your iPhone there is no way to restore any in app purchases with the phone app. I’ve bought the entire amp/pedal package, then one year later I upgraded my iPhone. Now, I am without a full kit and would have to re-purchase in order to obtain them all. Emails have been sent to the developer with no response. Will update if I hear from them.

Ran fine until latest update.. This new update completely crashed the app on my iPhone and iMac. I can't restore my purchases nor get it to run properly. Emailed Agile support a week ago; still no response. Great to see how they take care of their customers.

No restore of purchases. Upgraded from old phone to new phone and won't restore past purchases even when Stated in their own web page. Tired and irritated reached out and have had no response from developers. Used to be my favorite app. MY PURCHASES Restoring Previous Purchases Tap the My Purchases button on the iPad's menu or in the iPhone's Gear Store and you can see a list of all the gear you currently own. You will also see the Restore Purchases button at the bottom of the list. Tap this button, fill in your Apple ID password, and you will be able to restore all your purchases whether you're rocking on your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad. We don't believe you should ever have to pay twice for the same piece of equipment, and with AmpKit, you never have to!

Class Action Lawsuit Time. Agile Partners recently released an update to this app but they are impossible to contact. Three times I was charged for the complete unlock and just now for the Summer ’11 pack. Year ago when I first purchased this app IAPs were always restored. Since then the app will TAKE YOUR MONEY and give you NOTHING. I tried to restore and it didn’t work so I thought if I went through the purchase process it would tell me I already bought it. (Apple needs to fix this as well. You should be notified BEFORE money is taken!) It went through the purchase and then gave me an error message”PURCHASE FAILED THIS OPERATION COULDN’T BE COMPLETED. (SKERRORDOMAIN ERROR-2005)” YES, THE PURCHASE FAILED BUT AGILE GOT MY MONEY! This renders Apple’s quality control USELESS! This is theft. Others stolen from in this manner should consider a class action law suit against Agile Partners. If I see more reports I will create a FaceBook page for those being ripped off.

Great for beginners needs work. This app has not been updated in 2 years what a shame I have paid for this and like using it but when I click on recordings and try to play something from the bottom of my screen it clicks on a invisible key board and letters show up real annoying I am on the iPhone X and had this app since my iPhone 6s Plus days wood love to see a update then I will give a five star ⭐️ until then.

Good to learn. Not the best app, but GarageBand is actually way worse than this, not that I’m calling this app bad, because I like this app to play in quiet times... I’d rather play than not have anything at all.. this app is pretty good have had had it for about a year I like it

No way to restore purchases. I have purchased this entire catalog for $50 and never do I get an option restore purchases. The faq is so out of date. Fix the app.

NO RESTORE PURCHASES BUTTON!!!. Loved this app for years. Paid for the full version - all the bells and whistles. Just upgraded my iPhone (finally) and even though it works on it, I CANNOT RESTORE MY PURCHASES. The app removed the restore purchases button. Their website even talks about never having to repay for the same product twice… I’ve emailed the developer and will be happy to upgrade my review upon getting my full restore… until then - 1 star and a warning to not sink any money into this app until they have an update (which doesn’t seem likely). Apple shouldn’t allow this to be on the store without a default restore purchases button.

Awesome results for me. I love this app. I use it with a rock smith cable through a lightning camera adaptor and it works great. Had no problem with ‘restore purchases“ button after upgrading to a new iPhone.

Once upon a time, it was great. I used this app years ago. It was great. Haven’t touched it in four or five years. Decided to mess with it again. I owned every amp and pedal. But there’s no way to restore purchases. I’ve already purchased everything but in order to use it, I have to purchase it all again. Guess I won’t be using this after all. That’s too bad. I really liked it.

One platform…. I bought the “everything” package using my iPhone, but found my iPad and older phone don’t share the license/subscription. 😡 i use these backup platforms in rehearsals and some gigs. May have to revert to Tonebridge.

I upgraded to a new iPhone 7 from a 6. I bout the whole package and now its gone. I did a back up from my old iPhone6 then did the transfer to the iPhone 7 and the app isn't in my iTunes and the iPhone6 list the app as well. I need help. I don't want to spend another $49 on this again.

Can't restore purchases. I've beening trying to get in touch with Agile for over a month now about the error I am getting. I have submitted a number of support requests without a single response. From what I can see from others this isn't unusual for them. I am trying to restore my purchase of "all gear unlock". I am getting the error saying: "The operation couldn't be completed. (SKErrorDomain error - 2005.) Don't count on any support after your purchase.

Purchases didn’t transfer from XR to 11. Update 2: They emailed me 2 codes today (Jan 16, 2021) to “restore all your (my) purchases” and neither of them worked. When I put the codes into the App Store to redeem them, I get a notification that says I already own them. So there’s that. Update 1: I received an email from an Agile rep today (Jan 12, 2021) and they offered a voucher if I could show a copy of my purchase. Used a screenshot from my purchase settings on my on my iPhone. 2nd update pending. Original: I had all the gear. There is no restore purchase button to be found anywhere in the app, as described on the Agile Partners website. Customer support has yet to respond to my inquiries/emails. FYI... Tonebridge is free and basically does the same thing.

I can’t recover my purchase. My purchase will not automatically update on my new iPhone 13. I had purchased the bundle on August 9, 2021 and now the only way I could play as if I re-purchase it. Any suggestions I’m at a loss. I tried all the normal stuff through Apple, but I cannot contact this developer.

No turning back. I was just about to write a review asking them to restore the capacity for the interface display to turn upside down when you turn your phone over and use it with the headphone jack on the top. I used to love that feature as I could stand my phone on my music stand and still use the app the right way up. But reading the other reviews here, it looks like there isn’t a snowball’s chance in hell that the people who sell this thing will listen to a request from a long-time user (years and years, by the way.) So … I guess I’ll just add my voice to the chorus of disappointment. What a shame.

Use to be great, until it became useless.... This app now is garbage. I purchased the unlock all to get full access to all amps and pedals back in 2016, and now that I’ve upgraded iPhones and iPads, there is no way to restore my purchase. All of my previous recordings are there, but none of my amps. My custom pedals are useless. Great job on app support as well by not returning emails. Also there is no number to call.

Thank me later - MUST READ. Tonebridge by UG “$0.00” search any artist literally any, or open workshop and create own sound with the exact same effects, amps, cabs, mics, etc... as AmpKit offers. Only difference AmpKit offers the ability to Record yourself. Literally both the apps have same menu list and options top to bottom. Hopefully this helps at least one individual.

All purchases are gone. No option to restore I want my money back

Rip off artists. They take your money and have no customer service their app will not restore purchases and they will not return e-mail from their support page DO NOT BUY

The best!. I have all the amp simulation and effects apps on here. I have been playing for 30 years. This one is the best sounding and has the best feel with breakup.

DON'T BUY ANYTHING!!!. Not worth it to buy any gear. The preloaded stuff is good for basics and if you're a beginner. I used this for years, and when I got a new phone and tried to restore my previous purchases (mostly pedals and one amp) it didn't work. Tried to load the app on my iPad and that didn't work either. I was finally able to get everything back on my phone but the headache wasn't really worth it. Bottom line, purchases are hard to restore. If you're in the market for an average amp with easy features and relatively simple interface this is your go to. Another important note, feedback and noise filters on this aren't very good. Sometimes they just stop working if I'm playing for too long. At first I thought maybe my guitar wasn't grounded but no it was the app.

The update fixed it late 2017 !!!. I've had this app for a while. I paid for the whole package, all was well for a year, then they had a problem, and then they fixed it. I use this on a regular basis. I would say for home use this is PERFECT ! I use it all the time with an iPad or iPhone. I love the variety and the sounds are really good. A lot of warmth , good echo, delay etc. I love the app but the quality of your interface (the thing between your phone and your guitar ) help make it sound even better. Buy the whole kit for about 40 bucks and you get everything. And there’s a ton of stuff. Used peavey interfaces are about 20 bucks and about 60 for an HD model. Great app. Glad they fixed it

Ripped off. Spent close to $100 on amp kits and pedals a while back and they vanished with an update, no way to restore purchases. Fuck these guys. Fuck this app

Very good app for practice. I've found this is very nice to practice with, mainly convenient, not to gig with at all. So setting up,song writing, practice & having fun with or showing off at a get together, this is one of the apps to use, Not for serious concert, that's a NO NO...!!!

I love this App. I have bought a few others and none have the quaility Ampkit has. I would like to see a selectable output input section when using bluetooth, one less cable hanging around, I have a senheizer bluetooth hradset and run into a dead end when using it with this or any other app that requires input jack. Thank you for your Effort Allan Walker

Travelling jamming with guitar/bass and Ampkit. To have any number of combinations of amps, tones, fx and the pure convenience that Ampkit enables whilst on the road is brilliant. The absolute ease of plugging in a set of headphones to my phone or iPad (not bothering anybody in close proximity) opening the app and having it all at my fingertips with the ability to be able to recall and tweak any of my setups when wanting to jam on my bass or guitar is AWESOME. The huge selection of amps/cabs available and then add any combination of fx to jam/practice/write/compose whilst travelling/touring with either my bass or guitar(s) is fantastic... Highly recommend purchasing Ampkit from Agile to any working musician that wants amps/fx and 100's of variations of tone at their finger-tips, yet doesn't want the inconvenience associated with carrying/lugging around a small practice amp and fx. 5/5 Ampkit... You ROCK \m/

Best sounding modeler of the lot. I have tried many different iOS amp modeling apps but AmpKit is superior to all others in sound quality. Particularly the Soldano clone called the 'Sultan' with its crisp top end and layers of overtones, it really cuts through the mix. There is a tiny bit of latency compared to some other apps but it's worth it for the great tone. I recommend the Peavey AmpKit HD with the optional charger (which no other has) for the best sound. My Bluetooth midi foot controller works well with AmpKit too. One of the best things, unlike others, is that you only pay once for extras across different devices with AmpKit installed, such as iPad, iPhone etc. Finally, it has the unique facility to backup or share setups via email or Dropbox.

Will make you pay twice!. I used this app a while ago on my old phone and purchased all pedals and amps but have now installed it on my new iPhone XS and it wants me to purchase everything all over again!! There is no “restore purchases” button to be found anywhere in the app and I looked everywhere many times.. very disappointing.

Scam. No way to restore purchases, company no help Waste of money, do not buy!

Pricey but worth it. Bought all the packs and like it a lot. I also bought the Ampkit connector and compared it the iRig. The Ampkit connector had superior sound quality and it did not matter what app I was using, i.e Amplitube, Jamup Pro etc. Glad I took a chance and bought it and not another iRig because I was giving my iRig to my niece.

Impressive. Impressive sound bank with quality samples and a low latency overall. The app would benefit from a slightly easier way of applying a template of default settings to all 'amps', but can live without it too. Very impressed!

Restore my purchases!!!. I’ve been a happy user of this app for years. Finally updated my phone and Lo and behold there is NO option to restore my purchases (I paid to unlock all amps and effects). The irony is that in their website they show a “Restore Purchases” button that does not exist in the current version of the app. These crooks even have the temerity to claim “We don’t believe you should ever have to pay twice for the same piece of equipment, and with AmpKit, you never have to!” LIARS! Restore my purchases or give me my money back you scammers!

Not able to restore purchase. Not able to restore purchase

False advertising. Why am i being overcharged, pedal is $7.99 iv been charged $22.95 ,not happy

Awesome app.. Yeah

Very Good !. Pro app' Good sound but keep ur device away from ur amp..... Worth the money....

No multitrack. Awesome program it's fun and it sounds really good only problem, it definately needs a multitrack option similar to amplitude then it would be 5star

Just discovered what everyone else discovered.... New iPad? Sorry, got to buy it all over again. Nuh-uh. Off to give Tonebridge a try.

Ampkit. This app kills the competition. I've got most of the amp simulators available on iphone and this is the only REAL AMP simulator!!!!!!!!!!!

Best App. Its incredible how you can increase your technics and creativity using this great app. There a massive set of effects that is 100% sure that you are going to find what you are looking for!

Fantastic. Great app, love it :D

Ohhhhh. What

Awesome. Absolutely amazing!!! The best app money could buy!!! All that equipment right in my pocket, thank you!!!

Restoring purchases. Have rated one star based on support - have purchased all amps and pedals, changed phone and the restore purchases button has disappeared from the app. I’ve been emailing support and not received an answer. All support docs online are for the old version.

Excellent and disappointing. I really like this app but like everyone else,am really disappointed I can’t restore the amp/pedal bundle I purchased

Potential but.... I love the interface of this app and the “real” amps and pedals are a great idea. But the software amplification is poor, making it almost impossible to get an audible output without annoying and painful feedback. To make things worse, my attempt to get some kind of answer from support has proved fruitless. Unfortunately, I spent a swag of money on add-ons before I really assessed it - money I could have spent on add-ons for something that works.

Brad. Authentic amp sounds, this free app is perfect for practice. Not top end but very usable.

No free options. Everytime i tried to use it wanted payment couldn't find any free usage removed

Beware... rip off!!!. Can’t restore purchases. Absolute SCAM👎👎👎👎👎👎👎

Great app. *update* The updates to this app - especially since 2.0 - have greatly improved the sound quality of the amp modelling - it really sounds amazing. I'm still a sucker for that fender tube sound which still isn't quite there imo BUT.... The interface is so well thought out, the amp models give so much versatility (i can play acoustic, jimi hendrix and metalica all at the one gig) and it is just awesome value being universal, the benefits far outweigh the disadvantages. Also the new bass models are awesome! -------- Amplitube wins out if you are after authentic tube amp tone (esp. Fender) but ampkit is no slouch and succeeds in other areas where amplitube fails (retina display, high gain, 1 app for both iPad and iPhone). The record function is simple but fully serves it's purpose (are you really going to record full amazing songs on your phone??). Great sound, easy to use and the agile guys are great at listening to the users.

Worth a go. I have found this app to work fairly well!! Still doesn't compete to having real pedals!! Maybe a foot switch attachment could be an extra option?!?! As far as restoring your purchase, make sure when you download ampkit to new device you are signed into the same google or Apple ID as old device. One thing that would be good would be to be able to make layered backing tracks. Overall not to bad for the cost.

Best thing I've bought...EVER!!!. This app is literally the best thing I have ever bought. It has everything! It's like having a recording studio in your pocket. It has all the leading and best amps and pedal effects to start you playing like a professional!

awesome. if im drunk at a party i can hook this little godsend up to a hifi system dial up a great sound and totally rock out some great party classics, and be a total legend

Complete rip off. If you want to be ripped off then this app is for you. After wasting money on this I found out that you then have to pay at least five bucks per pedal. This is illegal under Australian consumer law but I guess Apple consider themselves above the law.

Good app- Terrible support. This is my favourite guitar amp sim. It’s a shame that you can’t restore your purchases when you switch to a new phone. Especially when you have spent lots of money on in-app purchases and any attempt at contacting the company are met with silence. Just a tip for others. All the exact effects and amps used in this app are free on the tonebridge app. There has obviously been some kind of partnership. So go get that and don’t give amp kit a cent. They are crooks.

Don’t like this issue. When I go to change my settings on the first ever pedal I choose it gets stuck in the tutorial and then the tutorial doesn’t continue

Scam!. Paid over $100 for all the equipment at the time when they were very expensive, and it won’t let me restore my purchase on my new phone. Unbelievable I wouldn’t of never spent the money if I knew they were gonna take them away and make me pay again. I feel like I literately got robbed.

Some of the best tone out there!. There are many guitar amplifier emulators out there today, but AmpKit has remained in my top list for years due to their high quality sound output. Being able to export and share presets is perhaps the thing this app does better than any other competitor though. Sharing presets that can be of amazing sound quality is priceless.

Good but I Have one Question. Do you plug in a actual electric guitar to your device idk lol

Awesomeness in a lil package!!. Out of all the iPhone amp apps out there, this one is so far the best for overall sound and crunch. I love it. Bought all the add-ons. It's a must have.

Very effective. Well priced. One addition left to complete.. Very useful. Very well priced, unlike most guitar modelling apps out there. Instantly and easily get started with a simple to use interface and grow your assortment of pedals, amps and mics that are straightforward to operate and understand. Beautifully crafted sound and effects that have a huge range of options to add to create an amazing stable of sounds for you to record or to play along with any song on your iPad. Of course you can use it to perform as well - having everything in one place to rock, not just your world. The system is so complete, they need just one more thing to create a complete musical experience and that's a Looper. So get on that one guys. Thanks, I the meantime!

Audiobus!!!!. Please add AUDIOBUS support. Without it its just a toy, not a production tool. I wanna be able record to Auria or Cubasis.... PLEASE!!!!!!

Awesome guitar app!. 1-Portabity, bring this anywhere along with your guitar and BAM! Instant jamming! 2-Recording any ideas instantly on-the-fly makes this app worth while! 3-Jam along with favourite tunes anywhere you go, with the most incredible sound customization! Peavey already makes the loudest, best sounding amps on the globe! No wonder this app is sooo amazing!

WOW!!!. I simply LOVE this app and have amazing guitar tone with it. Never would i thought this quality of tone would be possible on an iPhone... Great product at a great price. Strongly recommend!

Good but .... Pretty great sound/effects! Got a pop-up saying 80% off and when wanted to buy it, the total shows up as $69.99 (it supposed to be $29.99). Obviously, I cancelled! After that, no more pop-up with discounts and price is always $69.99 for some strange reason 😔

Ampkit. This the most realistic amp emulator. Versatile true amp tones and endless effects at a grate value.

Don’t buy. App has been abandoned, no way to reload past purchases. I had fully upgraded this thing and it was a fun toy. But after changing phones etc, all purchases are gone. There is no way to reinstall and seems no one is getting response from developer. So it’s dead in the water.

Discount??. You have 60% and 80% offers but when you click on them the price goes back up. Doesn’t do much towards gaining trust. Why is this? Is it because of exchange rate? Very odd and disappointing!

Awesome!. Can never replace my main gear but nothing can replace this as my main digital rig 👍

Excellent. This app is wonderful. I am using it on my ipad and the Apogee Jam interface (great device by the way). The guitar sounds are really great. Instead of using my Marshall amp I spend much more time on this app: great variety of sounds (various amps and pedals) and the ability to record makes it fun to use. I only wish we could record multiple tracks. What I do is that a copy-paste my tracks into Grageband. The price of the app is relatively high (I purchased the clean kit and the power kit for 20$ each), but I do not regret it. I highly recommend. Guitar sounds better than with Garageband. Presets are good. You can play along with backing tracks. By the way avoid the irig device it is a piece of crap.

Great Tool. Love Ampkit it allows me to test several pedals to find the effect and sound I want from my guitar. It also makes practising easier with my electric, I can hear my guitar without bothering anyone else.

Great amp simulations. Perfect for riffing on the go :)

Lost all my stuff!. Had the app and was working awesome, I had purchased all the amps and pedals, everything. Ended up deleting it since I had changed devices.. when I tried to download it again I lost the majority of my stuff. Even after doing restore purchases. Can’t seem to be able to contact anyone for support.. Anyways Quite disappointed

Why?. You get one star because it offered me a discount of 39.99 to unlock everything and then it wanted to charge me 59.99. Very very shady. I don’t respond well to scams.

Can’t get back what I purchased.... I purchased a bundle few years ago and when I wanted to ré-install the app, I’ve lost everything and cannot restore my purchase. I didn’t know that I was only renting it... 😢

O.M.F.G. You guys...I mean...seriously...If you've been looking for the perfect amp that will give you the most authentic tone AND for an affordable price, you've found the said amp. Ampkit is 30 amps, 30 pedals, 7 microphones and a whole bunch of settings to play with. Of course there are in-app purchases, but paying 3,99$ instead of 50$ for a pedal is what I call pure competition. I've used Amplitube for at least 4 months and it never gave me that TONE I was looking for. Awesome, revolutionary, outstanding, 10/10.

Great practise amp. Love it, no need to lug the full amp around

Purchases cannot be restored. I used to use this app a lot for practice and had dropped the $ to unlock all the options early on (around $80). I haven't used in about a year and a half as I was using actual pedals and amps. My logistics have changed and I plugged into the app for the first time in a while to find that the “restore purchases” button is gone. This went from a very handy app to a trial version. I am very disappointed.

Great app but where did all my content go?. I upgraded my phone and now it’s asking me to purchase all of the content again. And there’s no where I see for support or even a place to log into the app. I’m signed into the App Store.

Good Digital Pedal Board...Terrible customer service!. I recently installed Ampkit (free) on my older iPhone 4, and all seemed to work well. Great sound and the amps and pedals that came with the free version, were excellent. Once I decided to upgrade the app, this is where the issues started. I was offered an in-app upgrade to ALL amps, pedals and presets for $29.99. Sounded like a great deal so I purshced it. When I went to pay for it, the price magically jumped to $39.99 (nice trick). I still went ahead an purchased it but was never able to 'restore the purchase' to the app on my iPhone. I tired on several other phones and 2 iPads with the same result. The error said something about a 'domain error' and I could never get the purchased license installed. I opened several tickets with Agile support and never received a response. Not even an acknowledgment. I ended up opening a 4th ticket asking about updates to my previous support cases - again no response from the company. I'm now stuck with a 'free' app that cost me over $40 (with tax) and I canot seem to reach the developer. Not impressed at all. Buyer Beware!!

Disappointed. If you delete this app (by accident) Ampkit will definitely charge you twice even though you have paid for the app originally. No way to get a refund back, as per Apple. I do not recommend this app it makes you pay more than once for the same thing!!!! If your okay throwing $80 CAD every time to reinstall this app, then this is the app for you!

Awsome app. I love this ap

Purchases restored!!!!. Was a Danger here. After having purchased entire package, it was not used for a year and was not able to use it without repurchasing entire pkg again. response from support was slow after repeated attempts BUT they finally contacted me and restored entire selection of amps and pedals via gift codes. Cudos to you ampkit!! So...has a nice variety of amp and pedal sims that do a great job and are very tweakable. Try to catch the 19.99 full pkg sale and just do it.

Garbage. This isn't an app, just an ad.

Great app all around.. Worth the money. Sounds great. Works great.

Best amp app out there. I tried many different amp apps and the tones I get from AmpKit are by far the best. I couldn't be happier with this app. Keep up the great work guys!

Great Sound in a small package!. Absolutely love Ampkit! Best portable guitar rig going! Great features..... Love the on board tuner - easy to use & accurate. Ampkit is packed with useful features - perfect for demo work and more!

Works well with Traveler Guitar MI-10 Mobile Interface. My need for this app is simple - practicing in my hotel room while on the road for my day job. Ampkit is perfect for this when combined with my Traveler Guitar Speedster and the TG MI-10 Mobile Interface. The sound quality is adequate, but more important for me are the integrated tuner and metronome, and multitasking. I had previously tried the Line 6 app and interface but it lacks multitasking, a real show stopper. Ampkit plays nice with other apps like ForScore.

SCAM! Can't restore purchases.. Awesome app. Payed for everything, go to put it on new phone because my old one broke and... nope, not an option. Absolute trash, regret it.

Excellent. I have tried whit different apps and this is definitely the best. I use to play the electric bass

Awesome. I love everything about this. The tones are amazing! I can't believe I can get all of this for less money then a bucket of chicken. There was a time I was skeptical about using my iPad for guitar effects, 5 minutes with this and a decent digital input like and Irig Pro it's just a beautiful thing, fun, easy any fully tweak able. Wait until it offers you the discount and unlock everything. It's worth a ton anyway even if it was never discounted.

Very angry. I bought the entire gear some years ago and now that I changed my iPhone I just can’t restore my purchase. It seems the app is not supported anymore. Don’t buy anything from them.

Ampkit. It has allowed me to practice with different rhythm's the you gave me, thru guitar and drums.

Dynamite App!. Really nice hi gain stuff. Like the recording features. Worth every penny.

Sounds awesome. I got the AmpkitLink and this with the new Summer '11 pack and love it. The sound is very complex, all the way from cleans to high gain leads. I will definitely check out some more of the gear they have over time. The only thing I wish is that it would accept clipboard content to and from GarageBand, but half of that issue is probably with Apple.

One complaint.... As much as I love this app, there is a problem with distortion. It’s not punchy enough. There’s too much distortion in a way, I’m trying to palm mute the low E string and play other strings, but the low E string blows the crap out of the other strings. I know it isn’t the guitar because of the fact that it happens on my other guitars too! How to fix?

Amp kit review. Most of this app works perfectly. Accept your discounts are weird. I saw you had and 80% off discount for all the amps and pedals by the time I got back to the app the screen was gone and I could no longer purchase the product. On top of that in the gear section it shows all amps and pedals are off by 60% for 39.99$ but when you click on it to buy it it turns into 69.99$?

Good as free. But buttons are misleading. I don't use a lot of effects. And so it works fine for me. But I wanted to buy just a preset and ended up buying everything because it didn't say that it would buy everything. And so now I am stuck with a lot of stuff I am not using.

Great sound, very dynamic, universal app!. I use Ampkit a lot since I live in an apartment and can't play out loud. My guitars have active pickups and the distortion that I get from this app rocks! This app is universal, meaning that you buy once and you can install on any other iOS device that is linked to your apple account. I recommend this app to beginner or experienced guitarist that want to find their sound and that want mobility. The fact that you can plug the output of the app into a mixer easily without microphones, make it's very versatile.

Great app. love it. More toys for the guitar. Easy for me to run my music teachers music playback to accompany my Bass. Highly recommended

Simple and screen reader friendly.. This is the only guitar amp and petals simulator I have found that works completely with voiceover screen reader. Everything is accessible. It sounds great. And you can make some really good sounds for your guitar.

Really fun app. This app is fantastic for "average joe basement guitar players" like me who don't have money to spend on real sound equipment. You can play around with all kinds of sounds to figure out what you like before buying the real thing. It's also great for learning your way around an amp and what all the different pedals and effects do. It has some limitations. In the recording studio it would nice to be able to do some minor editing of tracks and to be able to lay down more than one track. But for what it is, it's a lot of fun.

Waste of time. The walk through freezes and there is zero information regarding what is required as an output device. A waste of and hour just trying to get it to make any sound at all...

Ray. Nice app

Good Except for "Resore Purchases" Function. As many have stated in the other reviews the restore purchases button is no longer showing in this app. After considerable research and time fiddling I determined that pressing on the small grey line at the bottom of the gear listing (looks like a divider line between gear list and icons at the bottom) will restore purchases. This is not well documented and seems to make it difficult for users to know how to be able to restore their purchases. Other than this issue I like the app.

Great App. What can I say... portability , quite realistic sounding amps & pedals , allows me to play late at night when everyone else is sleeping ... great app.

Well designed app that sounds excellent. App is intuitive, looks good and is fast. There is no latency. The free effects are useful and sound really good. I bought a few pedals and amps through the in-app store and they sound really good too. I like the reamp feature, very useful to test different setups. The multitasking feature allows you to use other apps (a tablature app for instance) while it keeps functioning. As far as hardware goes, I started with the Peavey Ampkit Link and I was not impressed. It is very noisy even with the noise gate pedal On. Now I have The Apogee Jam (available on the Apple Store) and it sounds so much better, it does not even compare.

Great Amp and Pedal Simulator.. I have been using this software for a number years and it is one of the better ones on the App Store. It is easy to use and provides plenty of options. It needs to be updated and to include some new amps and pedals.

Review the app, not the hardware..... The negative reviews seem to all be about the hardware. I've used Ampkit since the first version and started with the original Link. I now use a different input device and have only great things to say about the app. The user interface is simpler and easier to use than other apps and with the ability to unlock everything at a big discount, you get way more options for less money than the other apps. It may not be flashy and slick, but it runs more reliably. No problems with inter-app audio or Audiobus. Love the ability to share back and forth with friends. This is a solid app that started out strong but has been improved continuously and is now one of the best out there for the money. As the mobile devices have gotten better, Ampkit has harnessed the available power and the latest version running on an iPhone 6 or newer iPad is simply flawless.

Not the best app in the world. Not great

Tried and true workhorse. I've used this app numerous times in live settings, and in the last couple of years have used a Behringer FCB1010 MIDI foot controller to trigger effects and switch settings (connected via iRig MIDI, with guitar connected via iRig Stomp in the headphone jack). No noticeable latency with the foot controller, and minimal latency in regards to sound. Same sound latency via 30-pin guitar interface. If you are an audiophile and tone snob, then walk away and go plug into your tube amp. If you require a variety of usable tones, then this app is great. Very tweakable, with lots of deep functions if you take the time to explore and experiment. For instance, you can have the same amp and effects settings for two different guitars, but have one setting with the input gain set higher for a guitar with lower output pickups. You can have an effects-only setting to feed through the effects loop in your amp, if you prefer. Lots of possibility here that I still have to experiment with. I've had this app on my iPad 3 since I bought it, and only very recently have I seen some indication that the iPad may have some trouble keeping up. I've put lots of time and $$ to collect hardware and in-app upgrades to have a usable virtual rig, and I only have great things to say about my experience using Ampkit. Fantastic app.

I don't get it. I pay $49 for the full version for my iphone and iPad, but you want me to pay another $49 to have the same on my Macbook Pro? Really?

Great app but feedback problem. The clean sounds are incredible. Worth the price of the app alone plus all the upgrades. Also the acoustic amp is a great option for playing your acoustic guitar into a PA - sounds better than dedicated pedals (same for the bass amp model). However barely able to use the crunch and metal sounds due to feedback. Nearly blew my speakers out. This is not the same feedback you get on the real setups. I am back to using amplitube and my line 6 POD for everything else. Frustrating as the potential is so great for this app. The prices are actually very reasonable for the quality of the sound and u have the option to upgrade to what amps and effects u need. It really does beat amplitude - please fix a great app!

3 Years and still love it!!. I feel for the guys who’ve had problems, but for me? Three years later this app still ROCKS! Seriously. First, understand I bought the whole kit shortly after downloading the freebie, which made everything excellent. Whenever I update, I’m happily surprised with new stuff to try. You need to understand what this app IS. It’s a really great amp rig simulator you can use to create great music, and gain a working knowledge of how to use “real” amps. You don’t have to feel intimidated at the guitar store because you don’t know what will happen when you plug into a 5150. You can walk up, set it, and play. What it ISN’T ...it isn’t a full-on DAW. There are other tools for that. The interface with Garage Band could use some polishing, but I can’t really complain. I figured it out. Just takes a little trial and error. If you want to record your own playing with genuinely good tones, and really experiment with gear before you go buy the real thing, this app is perfect for you. It can be addicting... there is a world of tones and effects to play with. ALSO 🤫 you can import almost any audio and play over top of it... yes. Play with your favorite recordings, and record yourself doing it. It won’t replace studio equipment, and wasn’t meant to. It WILL give you a full rig you can carry in your pocket. With a set of headphones, and a solid body guitar, you can rock out even in the smallest apartment or hotel room. Download it with confidence. I highly recommend it!

DO NOT BUY. Company no longer provides restoration of in app purchases. Don’t waste your money.

AmpKit is garbage. Don't waste your money, the app doesn't work. It changes sounds on you unexpectedly and the company is stealing from its customers.

Where is this “restore purchase” feature?. I bought it on IPad last week, and downloaded on IPhone XS, and it wants me to repurchase it, with no “restore purchase” option to be found! This app is scam!!

Upgrade Feedback Filter Changes Limit This App. Just upgraded to the newest version and wish that I had not. This used to be my favorite guitar effects app. Although it may not have been intended for live use it worked just great for the last 2 years for playing live in our church’s praise band. That all ended with the new version that was just released. The newest changes to the noise and feedback filter severely limit this app for live playing as it is now nearly impossible to get a strong enough signal out of the app for live playing applications. Thus, this app is really only useful now for practicing, which is ashamed since it worked so well before the update. Again, it probably wasn’t designed with this use in mind but the newest filter changes are just too aggressive in my opinion. Plus, I have to say I’m also sick of the in-app purchase ads that pop up every time you open the app. I will have no choice but to go back to analog pedals for playing which means I will rarely use this app anymore. Another example of how progress does not always equal improvement (see the Apple Podcast app for the quintessential example of this!)

Great app!!. Hello everyone. I work at a music store and we just got in the peavey ampkits. I also spoke to a peavey representative on this piece of hardware. As far as all the noise and such, he recommends keeping the ampkit a good distance from the phone because it can pick up the radio signals. The sound on this app is very very good. Especially the clean sounds. I am very pleased. I've played around with it for a night and will be purchasing the ampkit as well as some effects and amps on the app. I highly recommend. I would like to recommend putting in a way to overdub tracks. I'd like to put in some noodling over the rhythm. This might already exist but I haven't figured this part out.

I got screwed. I bought everything they had 2 years ago. Now I can’t download my app with a any of the extras I bought.

SCAM ALERT. I wish App Store allowed people to report fake apps and scammers. Because this would be the first one I reported. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. DONT FALL FOR IT

Great practice tool, sound not so good. While having some of the most impressive set of features such as the ability to play along with any track , the sound it self fall short! I know what is this guy talking about? It has very rich cleans but the were I use a lot of high gain it tends to loose a lot of the clarity that I get from my real rig. I know it's amp modeling, but that's just the point I find almost every single amp model when clean sounds very good, but the moment you go a heavy driven sound it sounds flat and muddy no matter how much tweaking I do. I use quality guitars with good pups and pots. But not a dig most amp modeling rigs fall short in this category. Almost there guys don't give up. On the up side this is by far the most interactive setup and with the best amount of options available.

No Restore Purchase Option. I’ve rated this one star on the basis that there is no restore purchase option. Absolute nonsense.

Great product but.... I love Ampkit, but I wish it was a plugin for GarageBand on iMac.

No way to restore purchases, Dead App. App hasn’t been updated in years. Unfortunately, there is currently no way to restore purchases.

The go to guitar amp sim. When all others fail, this app continues to work and works well. Other developers add functionality like signal chains and better programming of individual components but they break other things in doing so. This app works, always has and probably always will. It always sounds great for recording and always is easy to use. Isn't that what you need a amp sim to do, work and always without any problems? Adding functionality is important, signal chains and stereo output is important, what ever is necessary to use this app for direct studio recording is the goal, this app is there so try it and you will always come back to it when everything else just doesn't work right or has other related problems. You won't be disappointed.

Too good to be true. I've tried other apps like this and, well, the others are ok, but this is the real thing. - a true musician. P.S. Even real amps require that you adjust your levels to cut down on feedback and other unwanted noise. Make sure you have quality connections and then just amplify your output if you need to. Also if you click on the input signal level area, there is an option to set levels and turn on the noise filter which is generally better than just a noise gate. Once you have this thing set up correctly, it sounds nearly flawless. I use the Ampkit link connection but I use it without the batteries. (with batteries I get radio interference). Update: the new update is excellent. Change setups on the fly now.

AmpKit is alive. AmpKit is alive in the app Tonebridge. The people who own Tonebridge bought AmpKit. It looks like they have decided to discontinue having AmpKit evolve which is a shame

In-App-Purchase is gone!. I enabled all the boxes and amps through In-App purchase several years ago. But all of a sudden, none of the purchased boxes and amps are enabled and I can’t use any of them. I contacted AmpKit and a support person (Kristina Lyamina) said they screwed up something and asked me the receipt. I mailed a copy of the receipt last month but nothing happened since then. No reply, no action on my repeated inquiries. What’s going on?

Great. Just what you want

The best iOS Guitar Amp Simulator. PERIOD!. If you are looking for something portable for guitar practice, need Hi-Gain Guitar tones and you have an iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch, your search is over! AmpKit is the best solution. You'll find very good simulations of famous HI-Gain amps like Marshall® JCM900, Peavey 6505+ and Mesa/Boogie® Dual Rectifier, plus their respective cabs and a good selection of Mics. Also, you'll find an extensive repertoire of famous pedal models and you can eve set them in front of the amp, after the amp (Send/Return FX Bus) of even after the Cab! Also, I would recommend to get AmpKit Link because it has lower feedback crosstalk and it's cheaper unless you have a Guitar Plug that goes directly to the Dock Connector, which would be the best option to avoid feedback crosstalk. You don't loose anything. Try the Free version with the ValveKing and hear it yourself!

Great up but recording features leave you wanting more.. As a long time guitarist I was especially surprised with how well the amps sounded. Buying the separate pedals gets expensive so make so you have an idea what you want before you get the app. Money aside I see no reason not to get the amp. The hiss I'd easily removed with the free noise gate pedal and although the recording leave much to be desired, like a loop function or the ability to set a recorded track as a backing track right from the app, this is an amp simulator not a full studio. Eventually I hope it's beefed ip but for now I won't knock a point off, at least until a competitor offers something better. The one complaint as of now is exporting. You can export to soon cloud but without a premium membership you can't download you track. Most annoyingly, the email session options seems to be bugged and won't leg me email my song. It actually just crashes my iPod or freezes for a few seconds. Hope that gets fixed.

The most underrated amp sim on iOS, probably the best too.... I have purchased all of the major iPad amp apps with full upgrades, getting all in app purchases. These include: Amplitube gets a lot of attention online because of the name brand amp models but it sounds very thin and noisy, taking a long time editing and trial & error to get some decent tones. JamUpPro/BIAS is better but the expansions are pricey and the higher gain amps and some clean tones are still noisy. Yanoc's ToneStack is like AmpKit, very underrated, sounds are quite good but the layout is a bit difficult to use quickly. Now Ampkit, Peavey & Agiles app, is the most like playing with an amp, and the sounds are really good. The clean tones have nice sheen and tube sag when you dig in, the dirty tones are very tube like and even the high gain models (the usual shortcoming of amp emulators) aren't too noisy or fizzy to use. My favs are the Bassman model, the Vox AC30 model that breaks up nice with volume control roll up and lastly the HiWatt amp is sweet, using a Strat and neck pickup position produced some excellent lead tones straight from Cream era Clapton's playbook. Very nice job by the developers and worth every cent to upgrade to get everything, the stomp models are excellent too. UPDATE AFTER V. 2.3: It appears Agiles licensing term with Peavey has expired, leading to the Peavey amps being renamed, but that in no way compromises the sound quality of this app. 2 years later and it’s still a favorite of mine. True, some apps do certain sounds & amp emulations better, but AmpKit does something’s better than those apps. With the cost of the Everything Bundle not coming close to half of what a decent overdrive pedal costs, this app is a bargain & should be owned by every guitarist who uses an iPad.

Just Wow!. I've been playing with this app for a week now and am still wowed by it's capabilities. I keep finding new features the more I delve into it. Especially love to be able to load any backing track I want and record without any time constraints. It'd be awesome to lay multiple tracks, but I could export to GarageBand if needed. I've had no latency issues and sound quality beats all the other effect apps out there hands down! I had some ear piercing issues with feedback and noise, but have found I only needed to balance the output volumes in the app and on my phone with the input gain and volume on my external amp, which was really quite a pain, as each setup requires different level mixes. (Not sure how the developers can fix that) however, you can't beat the free price! There are sufficient effects to have fun with the free version, but you will definitely find yourself purchasing lots of pedals quickly, so you may want to consider the $20 version. I'd love to see this app paired up with some tab/chording app, so once you have your setup you can hit a button and have your sheet music in front of you. Overall, I am still amped on this app and can't wait to see what updates add to this in the future!!

don’t even try. Not what it used to be, it was a great way of getting a tone and I have even used it for recordings which made it a great and simple method and now the tones are all doo doo and worthlesss

Nice tone. I purchased this app a couple of years ago to use on my iPod touch and continue its use on my iPad today. As a Peavey ValveKing owner I was pleased to have my own amp model right out of the starting gate. I would be lying if I said it produced the same quality sound as the real thing but it does offer a very pleasant array of tones - better in my opinion than Garage Band's offerings. I did not purchase very many effects pedals as I do not find myself using them much on my physical rig. Having said that I would like to see a harmonizer, looper, and some sort of pitch shifter that would facilitate drop tunings without actually drop tuning the guitar (I hate the lost tension on the strings).

Can’t restore purchases!!!. Recently upgraded to iPhone X, no way to restore past purchases. Lame.

Totally dead. No functionality whatsoever.

a studio in your pocket!. This was the first app i purchased from these guys, and I never looked back. the sheer number of presets and options to create your own 'sound' is overwhelming. you can experiment with sound and be truly creative. You can record yourself and share you recordings, how great is that? In addition, as a beginner, you will learn so much about the different pedals, amps and microphones, and how they each change the sound of your guitar. Very helpful! Of course, there is a metronome and tuner built-in, but I prefer the ones from their GuitarToolKit app. There is a looping function, and you can also add your own backing track to play along with. Finally, the "multitasking" option allows you to leave the app and launch other guitar apps (such as TabToolKit & GuitarToolKit) and play in this apps with whatever AmpKit setup you have currently selected. Switching back and forth between these apps is seamless as well. Overall, I think these guys have the best guitar / music products in the iOS app store. Buy without reservation. Two recommendations for future enhancements: 1) improve the renaming of setups, it is currently not intuitive and buried. 2) i would love the ability to download (or purchase?) setups that emulate the sounds of famous guitar players, i.e. Santana, Petrucci, Gilmour, Satriani, Vai, etc.. How great would that be?

Any guitarist and bassist should have this!. On the go or at home, ampkit is my favorite tool as a guitarist, any riff ideas that comes in my mind, I can record right away straight in my IPod with a killer sound without spending more than 2 minute to set it up... Any practice alone at home while my rig is at the practice place, Ampkit is there to help... Even to record demos for the band, the other guitar player and I and the bassist, we all use Ampkit, each of us have our own personal settings that are saved on my iPod with a killer sound at home. Ampkit is a surprisingly very powerful and very realistic sounding amp and speaker simulator that will give you a killer sound right away in any situations!

Took my money - Can’t restore purchases. Unable to restore my in-app purchases. Money gone for nothing. User beware.

Best sounding Amp + Fx sim on iOS. I own the fully unlocked versions of all the popular amp sims: Jamup Pro, Bias, Amplitube, PocketAmp/Rockshop... But in my opinion Ampkit is handsdown the best sounding of them all! Full rich stereo effects and nice clean and saturated distorted amp models. Unlock all the goodies in this app and you got yourself a wonderful sounding and versatile guitar and bass rig. I would recommend it for both for the practicing or recording musician. The quality is good enough to be used in a home recording studio set up and gives you access to a plethora of sound shaping capabilities and gear that would otherwise cost you a small fortune. Invest in this app and you wont regret it. Creating your own set of custom presets is easy and limitless. I absolutely LOVE this app! Thanks a lot for the audiobus update! Two thumbs up!!

Can’t restore purchases on iPhone. Otherwise nice app, but this obvious bug is quite annoying.

Peavy. I read somewhere a while back that Peavy was going out of business. Haven't heard about it since. Maybe that explains your difficulties. Maybe you can find out.

Doesn’t work correctly. The app runs and it can output sound but it does not work when trying to play my instrument. Using iPhone 8 and ios12

Impressive update. v1.3 Review: Well, the Bass amp situation changed, and for the better - a Trace Elliot amp is now in the picture, and it sounds very close to the real deal. This update was well worth the wait. I have yet to see what comes of the upcoming LiNK from Peavey/Agile Partners brings, but running a Apogee Jam really makes the Trace sound great. AmpKit almost doubled in size, but it's a quality update with new presets, effects and an amp. This is a major step in the right direction, and I believe I'm a full convert from AmpliTube for iOS. v1.2 Review: My take is that this is a great app, but of you want a majority of the effects, purchase AmpKit+. It's too bad I didn't take my own advice on this one. No matter, though, it's still a great app. I also use the Apogee 30-pin input after using the iRig. The difference is night and day in sound quality, with the Apogee Jam taking the cake in sound quality and practically no latency. The guitar amps are getting better (but very impressive to start with in sound quality), as well as having more amps an effects added in this version. I'm impressed with the guitar side. On the bass side, one amp and cab are not a sufficient quantity. While the amp sounds good, I'd like more options. Overall, I believe AmpKit is worth the investment if you need a solid portable iOS practice system.

Amazing, Even For Harmonica. I play harmonica, and run a microphone through the interface and it is amazing. I haven't tried the other programs but I bought the Link kit at Guitar Center and downloaded this app. It only took 20 minutes before I was compelled to buy the + version. I also purchased a lot of the other pedals. It freezes once in a while, but if you reboot after you download it the problem goes away for the most part. I can't believe how many pedals you can put into one setup without the iPod exploding. If it works for harmonica, I imagine it would also work well for vocals. I love the recording feature, and I highly recommend the Delay pedal for 5.99. You can create loops, and although it is limited it is fun. All I can wish for is a pedal modeled after the loopstation that you can turn off and still hear the loop while playing the lead part. Anyway, this app is great. I recommend it to anyone who plays anything.

Messengers(facedown records). If you use this app the way my band uses this app you will be very satisfied. We just wrote half of our new album using this app that were hopeing to finish and record soon. I love that I can have my real rig(6505 + w/ mes boogie cab) on here so I can get the same feel like were at practice writing music. So if you are in a full-time touring band and need to write new music all the time. Then this is perfect for you. Allows you to put another guitar track over the 1st track which is amazing. Me and my guitar player are able to share the tracks to each other to share different ideas if we are not at practice. I highly recommend ampkit. Changed my writing for the better and I hope it does the same for you. That and it rules to just play around on. So get it!! Stop wasting your money on Crappy practice amps when you have a siq app right here on your touch,iPhone, iPad etc.

Best for iPad. Usually I don't rate apps, but I feel I need to with this one. First of all, there are only three real modeling options for the iPad: this, Amplitube, and Garage Band. Garage Band is a cool program, but the modeling is not so hot. That leaves this and Amplitube. Both sound great. Why this is a big winner over Amplitube...true multitasking! If you are using your iPad for things like playing to jam tracks, videos, online lessons, then this is the app to have! The other apps cannot fit the bill, as they do not have TRUE MULTITASKING. I am going to purchase the plus version, just to support the developer, even though the basic suits me just fine. If it was not for Agile, I would not be able to use my iPad as a practice tool. Thanks Agile!

No way to layer tracks. Great sounds but no way to redub, which is the primary reason why I record

A Grift?. How do I rightfully restore what I’ve purchased?

They took what I payed for.. The app sucked anyways, just use tonebridge. I bought 5 pedals which was about 15-20 dollars worth and then they were all gone.

LOUD Screeching Interference on iPhone5. I got the Peavey AmpKit Link over a year ago with the assumption that it would just be another gimmicky gadget, after all, even mega horsepower computer based virtual amp apps still didn't quite do the trick. So having a pretty low level of expectation, I plugged in (iPhone4). To be honest, I was really surprised at the low latency, and just for fun or "look what I can do with my iPhone" it was pretty cool, and for what these things cost vs a decent real amp, there definitely is a whole lot of bang for buck. That's pretty much where it ends though, and while I do feel this is the best of the bunch, it's just another gizmo that along with the app that has collected dust over the past year. Folks, if you're serious about guitar, please don't try to convince yourself that this is in anyway some substitute for even a halfway decent headphone amp, unless serious means just sticking to your vast library of the 3 one finger chords. So, now with iPhone 5, it was time to play with all my gizmos again, or not! Not, meaning that with the iPhone5, AmpKit/Link now has a full volume screeching defect every few seconds (regardless of amp/preset). Yet another garbage gizmo for the junk drawer. And PEAVEY, seriously, you put your name on this thing?

I find it more than coincidental that .... People are having a similar issue with restoring IAPs with this app to that of the major Fn Headache I have had with Amplitube IAPs. Not the same - I didn't buy the all access option and have it completely defraud me like some people (and I thank those people for sharing your frustrating stories cause it helped me with my next decision). What did happen - and this happened in Amplitube - was that suddenly after a certain iOS update all of the IAPs I had been slowly plucking away at - buying a couple bundles and several singles across my iPhone and iPad 4th gen retina - became accessible only from the device which I made the IAP from. So everything is split across two versions of their free version. Tech support was there via email, but they wanted me to do some pretty time consuming stuff (that had to be done from iTUNES OSX) to prove that I had bought the stuff (??). That's when they told me that it was on me because you can only access your IAPs from the original device you purchased them from .. This was total BS since I had been accessing everything across both and had even neglected to indicate that my first device I made my first purchases from was an iPod 4th gen that no longer existed. Tech support via email was almost too present since they closed my support ticket before I had even read the last email. And since they wanted me to do all of this stuff that in hind sight was me troubleshooting a bigger problem for them when RESTORING IAPS BECAME A VERY MESSY SMEAR and left them making excuses for being negligible that seemed to fit WHATEVER YOUR SITUATION, BUT ONLY AFTER THEY GET YOU TO EXPOSE WHAT YOUR SITUATION IS - ITS FRAUDULENT! I'm hoping people who got burnt get taken care of here, but if you do get a hold of them be weary about what they want from you. Nothing about spending your App Credit should be this crusty. So in going to NOT BUY ANY IAPs in AMPKIT, CUT MY LOSES W/AMPLITUBE, AND GO GET JAMUPXT PRO FOR $4.99 .. maybe go all out with $25 for all of it. There doesn't seem to be the same kinda BS issues on that side of the crust. Thx.

Excellent app for gutiarists. AmpKit does an awful lot, It can turn your iPhone into a tuner, metronome, headphone practice amp, and portable effects box. You can use it to play through a portable amp or powered speakers as well. I prefer it to Amplitube's iRig, which I also own. The software is better designed, easier to use, and has named presets. A bigger difference, though, comes if you use the AmpKit Link interface, which has an active, battery-powered circuit which makes a big difference in reducing crosstalk and feedback. I don't like the $20 AmpKit+ version as much, to me there weren't enough different amps to justify the price difference, and the amps chosen were not necessarily the ones I would have wanted. If you know what amps and effects you use regularly, you might be better off sticking to this free app and buying what you want a la carte as in app purchases. This is an outstanding app particularly for a first release.

Love it. Love this app, been using if over a year now. One thing I'd love to see though is a section where users can upload their presets for others to download and try out. For example if someone replicated a sound for a certain song like rocket skates by the deftones. They could upload their preset under a category for band sounds under Deftones. Then another user would be able to download the preset(if he had the pedals, amp and mic from the store) into his stored presets. Users would be able to rate these presets as well. This would not only raise interest in the app but create revenue for effect purchases. Ideally this would all be done within the app itself. But I'm sure a forum on a website that transferred you to the app would work as well.

Lame. Impossible to work with. Don’t do it.

Don’t hit upgrade !!. I wanted to review what the upgrade consisted of. One touch and you bought it! 50 bucks!...gone
