Great app, many bugs.. I’ve been a long time user of ultimate guitar tab. I’ve had it since June 2014 and it has been hands-down the best purchase I’ve made. But this last year or two since the major redesign, there have been a lot of bugs, specifically for the pro version. My first issue is that you can’t have an option to hide the play/pause menu when you’re playing along. Have a play/pause in the corner and have arrows to toggle the rest of the menu on and off the screen. Secondly, anytime I try to change the size of the pro version it glitches out for a second and then gets way too big or way too small. Lastly, the arrow to control the loop feature doesn’t move around very easily, making it difficult to loop a part. I really, really hope you guys will fix these issues with the literal core feature of the app because this platform is incredible for learning how to play, learning new songs, and becoming a better guitarist. Please fix the bugs.

What a Journey It’s Been... My coworkers surprised me with a bass guitar for my birthday and I got so excited I went home and paid for the subscription to learn how to play bass. One year subscription is way too cheap and I’m not being paid or endorsed in any way to write that, anyways, Long story short, it’s more geared towards 6 string guitars, but it does cater to the whole orchestra section in a bunch of ways. It doesn’t neglect them; in the public music library you can find, virtually, any sheet or tablature music for your respective instrument. And you can post your own sheet music or tabs, recordings of yourself playing the piece to help other budding musicians (especially of stringed instruments because finger placements). I have to say as a raised brass musician (a prideful trumpet player at that), I’ve been humbled. With an active welcoming community going on into 2022 it was a breeze. This is like the Rosetta Stone of orchestra and it gave me the ability to actually self teach effectively to the point that I’ve learned several pieces on the acoustic and piano, too. I still have several months of the subscription left, so have fun to all still learning, and welcome to those just joining!

Updates Ruined It, forced to answer multiple choice before using. I’m already a paid member for last few years, but doubtful I’ll continue if I can’t use the app immediately when opening. Last few times I’ve used the app, I’m prompted to respond to a number of multiple choice questions which ends up trying to upsell me to additional paid services. I was in an actual rush to get to a specific song because I’m with band mates in a group discussion. No option to bypass the questions. I set my profile up a while back as a bass player and was asked if guitar is still my primary instrument. When finished responding to the multiple choice questions, then I get a prompt to enroll in one of the paid services. The X button to close this prompt is kind of subdued and hard to find. Can trick a user into forced enrollment. Years ago, I didn’t realize I enrolled into two different services and noticed it when Apple sent me a reminder that I’ll automatically renew unless I opt out. At that time, I opted out and let it go that it was my error for enrolling into a service I didn’t want to enroll in. Now I feel like I have to warn others to be careful and read carefully what you enroll in. There are a few different services offered.

One sweet app. I grew up in a family where making music was an everyday occurrence. My dad played guitar and banjo. I started playing rhythm guitar when I was about 13. But then life happened and when I was about 29 years old, I lost my guitar in a divorce and haven’t had one since. (Warning...don’t get into a bad marriage with a musician). That was more than 20 years ago. Just bought an Epiphone acoustic and I’m shocked at how quickly muscle memory and strumming patterns are coming back. Except my old lady brain can’t automatically find the right chords for songs the way it used to. This app has seriously helped with this issue. So far, I have not thought of one song that I want to play that this app doesn’t include. Add to that, the ability to listen to new songs, and play along if you want, right in the app...that’s just awesome. I can’t read tabs but I may learn since that’s included as well. Anyway, thanks to the developers for this unusually helpful and functional product. Thanks to Ultimate Guitar, my husband, who is a drummer and has never picked up a guitar before, is now learning as well. 👍🏼

About 20 years late.. In 1975 my Dad got a guitar for Christmas. I was 10 and I was under strict instructions not to touch it. But you know us little boys I touched it as often as I could and never got caught. I got my own when I was 16 and earned my own money. It wasn’t that my parents wouldn’t get me one. I was too embarrassed to ask for something I might not be able to pick up. I’d fooled around with my dads and had no idea what to do with it. I met a guy at my first job who was also learning to play as well and he told me about Tab’s. But as you know in 1980 the only place you could find tabs were in music books at the music store and you were lucky to find a song you liked to work on. And they were $15 to $25 a pop. It was insane. So I picked up what I could until I got married had a kid etc and so on until my divorce in 1997. I’d sold off all my guitars, music, chords and amps etc. over the years so I had to start from scratch. I’d bought my first computer in 1990 and got on the internet around 1992ish. Then I heard about harmony Central and WOW. I STILL HAVE TABS THAT I PRINTED OFF THAT SITE. Anyway when that site was shut down I was depressed but at the time I was in a working band playing every weekend. That and broke up around 2003 when I got my first iPhone this App was available and off we went. I LOVE YOUR APP AND I CANNOT OVER STATE THAT. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. IT HAS EVERYTHING A NEW GUITARIST COULD WANT.

So so greedy. Unusable app.. This used to be one of the best apps, best sites, to get tabs. You are held captive by literally an interstitial ad in between every tab you look at unless you pay a recurring subscription fee. The fee isn’t terrible, but the flip side is too grave to even consider in my opinion. So say, you are just looking through a few tabs to find a decent one that isn’t “pro” (lol). Pick one, not good, back out, select another, interstitial ad, not good, back out, pick another, interstitial ad. This is what I have experienced at least. If I could give you people -5 stars I would. How holier than thou must you believe your content to be to think it is worth that kind of annoyance and total disrespect for the time and well-being of your potential customers? Tab sites with basically identical content are a dime a dozen. I would recommend anyone considering even downloading this app skip it. Don’t put a single penny in their pockets. It never ceases to amaze me how so many people today are so used to being abused by advertisements of this magnitude that they can seriously even consider supporting this kind of garbage. These kinds of scams will never die unless we say no without our wallets and time. Bankrupt them financially. It’s only fair, as they are already morally bankrupt.

🕊✌️T.A.B.S✌️🕊. 🕊✌️🕊✌️🕊 I play the new Khalili and guitar I don’t find a lot of good tabs this is a very good app for tabs I don’t really know what to say this is it scripted and it’s good it’s very helpful I like a lot of times you can listen to the song as you’re playing it I like how it shows the courts see useful gives you tuner I like how you could play the songs for free don’t have to just use them we get a little membership pro thing but it’s very helpful I love tabs I suggest you use it and then I suggest you pay for the pro it’s only 20 bucks or 10 I don’t remember it’s cheap but you get all of that for like a year it’s worth it are use this other app called yousician I would not suggest using it it’s really only good for complete beginners I know there’s one for like if you’re good or moderate pro but it’s basically just for beginners and that’s what I got from it so I wouldn’t use it I would stick with the tabs tabs ultimate guitar whatever just you should use it I kind a hope no one reads this is getting stupid long I doubt anyone is right is fully and what am I saying OK bye-bye✌️🕊✌️🕊✌️🕊✌️✌️🕊🕊✌️🕊🕊☮️☮️☮️☮️☮️☮️☮️☮️☮️☮️☮️

Honest review. So let’s start of with the good things and then move on I like how this is unique considering the fact that there isn’t anything quite like it it has thousands of useful tabs all amazing to play and many ways to teach you how to play songs it’s truly amazing however not every tab is accessible because of how you have to pay to use certain features like chords and a tuner however there is many free tuners and places where u can find chords so I find this odd another thing is that I think that they should remove what you have to pay for and make it free but because I know you want money u can push the adds be different more different then you already are how about try things like amps and pedals or a tuner for guitars with more then 6 strings or just tubers for more stringed instruments the possibilities are endless I am sure you don’t need a unintelligent 12 year old to tell you to get money people care about the quality not about how much time they spend watching ads Spend a day of two just to look at different apps find the problems with them and make ur own

Gotta PAY UP if You Want to See Most Tabs. I have never before left a review for any app but this app inspired me. This app will annoy you to no end to pay for the monthly/ yearly subscription. If you don’t open the app in a week you’re forced to go though multiple pages that entice you to pay for the subscription before you can search. And 99% of the time the first few tab options require paying the subscription and the free tabs available are sometimes incorrect. It is without a doubt the worst app on my phone, which is a shame because their site was almost essential to learning guitar for me. Young guitar learners will be dissuaded from Guitar Tabs after using this app. I would much rather pay a one-time, upfront cost of $5 and still see 30 seconds ads in-app than pay the yearly subscription with no ads. The subscription choices are $6/month or $15/year, which is so obviously a scam because they’ll make you think “I’d be paying $72/year for monthly so I’ll save so much money buying the yearly subscription” but even $15/year is still not worth it. I’ve played guitar for 16 years and still play just about every day but I don’t use this app nearly enough to justify the cost. Their greediness will be their downfall.

One LARGE issue. Normally I’d rate this app way higher; it’s got good tabs and there’s a really good community on here. The reason I’ve rated it poorly (and the only reason I’m writing this review in the first place) is there’s a large issue. The app allows you to rate tab. It’s one to five stars like you’d expect and this seems useful because then when you search a song you can look at the reviews to see if the tab is worth trying to play. Well it turns out if you rate a tab one or two stars the app asks why and then wants feedback. This is totally fine and I completely understand why. Here’s where the problem lies though. Once you type your feedback that has to be longer than ten words (so you can skip it) the submit button is inaccessible. On a mobile device the submit button is underneath where your keyboard pops up so that you can type the review. And there’s no way to tell it you’re done typing or make the keyboard go away. So pretty much the app won’t let you rate songs lower than three stars which is really frustrating because I rate tabs to try to help other people and if you can’t rate it poorly, there’s no point of a rating system.

Every other update breaks the app. I’ve been using this service for probably close to 15 years, and I’ve been a lifetime pro member for about 10 years now. This used to be my go-to app for guitar music because it was all stored in one easy place with lots of helpful features. I first started to dislike your service when you added a subscription tier above the original pro tier and didn’t provide any options for a lifetime upgrade; but I figured “whatever I’ve still got pro and the app works great” but now the app doesn’t even work right. The update before the last update caused a black screen when I opened the app, and then the last update fixed it. This current update has caused the exact same issue again and it’s very frustrating to not be able to use my tablet for tabs. Please work harder to verify that your updates won’t break the app; do you not have employees with devices they can test your app on? Every other update shouldn’t cause the app to break, and that it does shows either a lack of resources for development or a lack of care for your customers. I’ll update my review if the app stops breaking, but for now you deserve one star.

My favorite guitar site!. Thanks for this. I use this app more than any other. I can learn chord progressions, lyrics and most anything that I need for playing out, playing new songs in worship service, or just for fun. I invested in a pro account a few years ago and I highly recommend it! You can learn how to play a song in the same key as the original recording, or in a simpler progression to match your skill level; or to a key that is easier to sing with. There are a ton of great songs on this site, in just about every genre you can think of... for acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass (electric and acoustic), piano, violin and even ukulele! Most people making comments on this site are trying to be helpful, although there are always some that are quick to criticize, but offer no correction or suggestions; but unfortunately, you will find that on just about any site on the net. Give the Ultimate Guitar app a fair try, and I am sure you will find something useful to help you get to your next evolution of your guitar journey.

Rendered useless by pop ups. Ultimate guitar, the website used to be a premium place to get accurate tabs and featured good adds that didn’t clutter the screen. Now the website pushes you onto the app which may actually be nice but since it constantly bombards you with pop ups to subscribe it’s useless. I can’t even have the opportunity to try the app to see if it’s worth subscribing too. I have no faith in paying for an app that the makers don’t have the confidence in letting you use it without starting a “free trial “ or grab your information. Ultimate guitar is now rendered useless by their aggressive add targeting. I will much easily find tabs elsewhere. It’s like this... sometimes you quickly need to fingertip a lick or song on the fly and ultimate guitar does not allow this due to aggressive pop ups. If they haven’t caught on to how a guitar players workflow is by now and simply cause frustration when you are working on the fly then I have no faith or trust that their app is any good. I will use one of the other free it less aggressive services. It’s shady. I rarely give poor reviews but the makers of this app would have something investing in if they would think like a guitarist and not waste our time. They may also be wasting our money.

The best I’ve used!. First of all, I’m not a very good guitar player! This app offers a simplification option that has helped me graduate into more complex versions of same songs. One can slow down the tempo and follow along until their confidence is strong enough to play at the songs written tempo. If a player has the patience he/she can play just about any song they want. The library is huge! There have been only 2 songs that I wasn’t able to find. Please support this app by downloading and using it, especially, if ur a beginner to intermediate player like me. After just a few months I upgraded to expand my option to the full library. I would do it again without a second thought. Thanks to the folks that developed this app! It has been a great teacher. BTW…it also gives you the chord structure and when to change and allows u to play the chord digitally so u can hear what it sounds like so u can tell if u have it right. I could go on and on but half the fun is the discovery of all this app will do. Good luck and have loads of fun!

Almost Perfection. With ANY program/software there are just going to be some things that can’t be done….yet. Especially when it comes to music. Trying to take something as expansive as “sound” and boxing it into an app suited for musicians of ALL skill levels with a good UI is an ambitious goal. There is no such thing as the perfect music app, because “perfect” is both a relative and subjective term, and everyone has different definitions of “music” (sadly). Newsflash: “music” = “arranged noise”. Take it from a guy who grew up in a family where every single person (all but 2) on both sides is musically inclined, who had professional lessons in multiple instruments from a young age, who played in band and orchestra growing up, who plays in multiple bands today, and who has spent years being a music theory nerd: ⭐️This app is as close to perfect as it could be. If you have a creative mind, and have the ability to self teach using professional techniques, THIS APP IS FOR YOU ⭐️

Hello from Tennessee. I am a 36 year old bass musician who plays at local bars and in my at home studio. I love that I can look up almost any song in your search bar and have the tablature right in front of me. Not only for the bass, but I can get tabs for lead and rhythm guitar, mandolin or any other instrument that was used to record that particular song. The reason I gave the app 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the accuracy of some of the tabs. I know that most of them were written by users and are the users interpretations of the song. Also several versions are usually available but sometimes the tabs are so far away from what was actually written by the artist that it could be a completely different song altogether. It just seems like there should be some kind of proof reading/editing. At least for the tabs that have such a large difference from what the original artist wrote. Other than that I love the app! It has helped me learn songs for years. Keep up the good work and please take my criticism as constructive. Thanks.

Lying to make a few bucks off of me. I have been a devout user of Ultimate Guitar since probably 2008. I have always appreciated them as they always have always been a dependable source for me. Even when they finally created a smartphone app. I was all on board to pay for it. Recently, I decided to try out the pro side of things. I liked the features, but I have to admit, I hit a pretty rough spot financially, so I needed to cut back on a lot of small things. Like a monthly $7.99 charge. Well, after I couldn’t figure out how to cancel (users fault, I admit) I contacted UG and asked them to help cancel my subscription. They swore up and down that it was apples subscription and I needed to take it up with them. So I tried to figure it out to no avail. A month went by and I admittedly forgot because a lot went on. Another charge. So I contacted UG. Same response swearing up and down it isn’t them. So I contact apple and they point out that it is UG making the charges. I finally figure out how and where to manage my subscription and cancel it. I know I am at fault for being an idiot and not knowing how to cancel it myself. But why in the world would you guys not just help me out?? Screw you and I hope that extra cash you got from me makes all the difference in your lives.

So good you wonder if you’re just dreaming.. I have purchased amplitudes full rig 3 times because they they don’t actually have a way to restore your purchases. I’ve purchased orig 4 times for the same reason. Amplitube may have since come up with a restore. This is about guitar Tab’s pro and standard. I love them both for their different uses. I have been subscribing to ultimate guitar tabs for years. If you love guitar and you want to learn a particular song or even a classical theme; you can’t lose. Most importantly don’t be afraid to take advantage of the supporting instruments they come with their notation on your terms as well. For example you don’t want to use tabs to understand the piano but tabs can still be useful for banjos violins etc. so this software and the gazillions of songs included…….. like I said: YOU CAN’T LOSE!!! Did I mention you have looping and speed control to help you learn at your own pace???? Trust me on this slow down, repeat sections often, concentrate on accuracy. The speed will come.

Really sad it’s gotten here. The app used to be flawless for my job - an alphabetical library of tabs I collected and could quickly switch between! As a live cover musician, this was crucial. Unfortunately it seems that giving you 65 notifications a day is more important to them than caring for one of the core functions of the app - the tab library is completely broken, and it’s literally started to become embarrassing on stage during gigs. It’s incredibly frustrating the way it glitches out and somehow takes forever to load my downloaded tabs even when I’m offline (???). I end up spending minutes between songs trying to get the library to function, or trying to select a song and getting no response. The alphabetical sorting selection doesn’t even work anymore so I have to either search the song directly or scroll down from the top of A (and that’s especially rough when I’m getting near 300 songs). Listen, the app is really a 5 star app when it’s working well. It’s everything I need, and I can even post covers to supplement my general audience. I’d be happy to remove this review and give 5 stars. But the way it is now brought me to write my first review on the App Store. I couldn’t even bring myself to give 1 star, because the app and even customer service has been great for years. But cmon y’all.

Hands down best app on my phone!. Had it for years. Paid for it once years ago (not sure if thats still how it works..) but arguably the best money I’ve spent on anything musical. This is no advertisement btw, just a guy who has saved hours upon hours of time learning songs by reading tabs/chords entered by other people who have already put in the time and serious effort for the benefit of all those who learn the song later. You can transpose the song into any key higher or lower to comfortably sing it or make it you own, have the page auto scroll as you go, hear the song too if you like, touch any chord and see the various ways it can be played (now on a piano and ukele as well.. excellent update btw, THANK YOU!) You can give feedback messages to those who create the tabs to collaborate in effort to make the perfect tab, any song you can think of is there and for many of the most popular songs you can get the exact sound effect for your guitar with the integration of “Tonebridge”. Well done. I can’t say enough good things. Just thanks, thank you, and thanks again! —A long time fan and one happy customer—

Crashes occasionally, but still provides a great service. Haven’t purchased a pro membership, but the free tabs they offer are great. Definitely my go-to source for guitar tab, and the app makes browsing on mobile much easier than in a web browser (though I gotta admit the way the website pushes you to download the app is pretty annoying). Occasionally the app freezes unexpectedly when looking at tabs. Only way I’ve been able to fix it is by killing the app and restarting, and even then I have to wait 5-10 seconds on restart before it reloads to the home page. Then have to find the tab I was on again, which sometimes isn’t the easiest if you’re like me and browse a lot of different tabs for the same song: then your search history is filled with links to every individual tab that you’ve viewed for that song. Ended up just signing in to my account so I could favorite tabs. It’s still pretty annoying to have the app crash in the middle of practicing though.

I’ve loved this app so much but there are a few flaws. This app has been awesome for me, I love the community and the design of it, it’s super inspiring to me to create music and cover songs this way. I will never probably not use this app, but there are some bugs that have been going on for a long time. One of the bugs I notice is for me even after I’ve followed someone, it still has the follow option in my inbox when someone likes a video or even if I just go to their page, but I’m already following. Another bug is sometimes my videos just do not post or there’s an error uploading them, this has happened a lot for me although it has gotten better. The quality of the videos I post always seem to be bad and it’s not just me it’s a lot of people, the camera quality just does not translate well onto this app. Other than that I would love to request some cool things I think UGT could add to make things more interesting! I think a live feature could be added that way people could watch their favorite musicians on here play live and interact with them, this would also give them a chance to gain their following and meet other musicians more easily! I also would love to be able to post longer shots :) that’s all! Thanks for listening!

Great app but pricing is confusing. I have had a pro subscription for several years now and don't remember what I originally paid but it used to include the courses and tabs. Haven't used the courses for a while now but noticed that they keep advertising the "pro" membership to me even though that is the one I have. Apparently they split the courses into a secondary subscription at some point and I lost access to those. Tried to find information about the pro subscription pricing but couldn't find that information anywhere. I know I paid something when I signed up but don't remember if it was a one time thing or yearly and not sure if the courses are on top of that pro price or what. All that aside, the tabs are AWESOME. I remember the courses being pretty good too but haven't really dug into them for a couple years now. Going to give the courses a shot now and see what's up with that, maybe they have more now or something and figure it's worth paying extra. It probably is. I guess I'll find out here...

At first I did not like it. At first I hated this app because it was literally just giving you the beginning of the song unless you paid, but if you actually helped the community and submitted a tab, it pays for you for a month. Just for one tab. I really like how it connects with the community to help other people learn guitar. It’s apps like this that really connect the world and help bring people together and enjoy music together. I play acoustic guitar, ukulele, and I am in a choir, and this app rivals some of the things my choir did to bring people together. I’m very great full to the creators of this app for bringing me towards this app. Thank you. I’m also great full towards the website, which lead me to this app. Thank you. And most of all I’m great full to the community for creating and submitting tabs for everyone to enjoy. Thank you. Everyone seeing this, please download this app and submit a tab. It doesn’t have to sound good or even be original. Just submit a tab so that everyone can join together in harmony.

Need much improvement.. Many of the tabs I have used have been fairly decent. But many of them absolutely terrible. When you use the interactive tab, most of the music that goes along with the tabs aren’t matched with the tabs themselves. So the tabs being played on the interactive fretboard, aren’t going along with the music making it very difficult to play along or learn. There’s is also the brain and chromatic tuner problem. When using the brain tuner, I need to reset the app each time because it won’t make any sound for me to hear. With the chromatic tuner, I can play an E and it’s trying to tune a G. The tuner cannot pick up the string I’m trying to tune. Which isn’t a huge deal, it is a tuner on a phone. Lastly, I spent about $15 on this app with upgrades and I have nothing. Not sure what my money went towards, but the app keeps asking me to pay to get new features that I was under the impression I already had. When purchasing, it said I had all features, so still very confused. But what I have learned from this app has been good, lots of great tabs to choose from, just wish it functioned better, and wish I got my money’s worth.

I love this app!. I’ve improved my bass playing more in the last 6 months with this app than I did the previous 15 years without. I’m going from a “dad band” plunker just playing what sounded good to me, to being a serious music student striving to play the right notes in the correct time. And I’m having loads of fun doing it because I can actually see my progress! I wish I would have had this app when I was a teenager in the 80’s. Maybe I would have been on stage with Def Leppard. Ok, maybe not, but a man can dream, can’t he? There hasn’t been a single song I wanted to play that wasn’t in their library, and even searched some pretty obscure songs. Initially, I liked the idea of having to pay for a subscription because I thought it would make me want to use it often to get my money’s worth. Truthfully, I was hooked the first day and didn’t need much motivation after that. For what you get, I feel the subscription price is pretty fair. They seem to be doing a good job of working out any bugs that might pop up, which is rarely. I can’t find a bad thing to say about Ultimate Guitar. One of my neighbors is in Bon Jovi. I might have to hit him up for an audition. You never know. Ok, sorry, I was in dreamland again for a minute there. One of my neighbors really is in Bon Jovi, but I’m pretty sure they’re not even remotely interested in asking Hugh Macdonald to step aside so I can have a crack at it. But hey, it’s my life!

Awesome guitar app!!!!!. I'm a beginner with no skills whatsoever and I just had to have this app. It's great to have so many tabs to choose from and easy to understand. Just get the app if you own a guitar. You won't be disappointed. I have even subscribed to the online classes. Those have really helped. I have moved my focus from learning guitar to learning to play the bass due to arthritis. Plus, it’s 2 less strings that I don’t have to worry about. My only suggestion for the staff at Ultimate Guitar would be if there was a little more structure in the courses. I would like for it to be “Start here” and then this should be the “Next Course” I found one instructor that I really liked and it was my ah ha moment but I didn’t know where to go next. I feel like an idiot bc I can’t comprehend some things or remember, but then I’ll stumble across a lesson that now it all makes sense. Trying to self teach is very difficult for me and I’m too embarrassed to go take lessons. I do have a very good friend that helps me from time to time and he says he can tell a difference that I’m getting better. I’m not going to say how long I’ve been playing because I know by now I should be able to play. The important thing is I guess is that I’m still playing and having fun. If that counts for something?

Best of the Bunch. After some years of taking a break from playing guitar, I have been excited by picking it up again and finding that my time off seems to have helped more than it hurt. Central to this joy is the improvement to TABs, which has gone from helpful to almost necessary. The app now features real people playing certain songs, greatly improved navigation, and what seems to be much more accurate TAB. And, best of all for an eclectic player like me, what also seems to be a tremendously expanded selection. In short, the people who keep improving this app also have an appreciation for the music. Put it all together, and you’ve got a mighty useful tool for actually learning music rather than merely mimicking an often incorrect transcription. (One star off for the tiny typeface. This is so picky, and so much a product of my bad eyesight, that I feel guilty even pointing it out. Younger players with eagle eyes won’t be bothered at all.)

Was once a great app, not anymore. I’ve been using this app for years, and loved it. I paid for the app when it was a flat fee, and once they started adding more features I paid for those too. I used to use it all the time to learn new tabs. It used to be a 5 star app, that I recommended to anyone who plays the guitar or ukulele. With this new update, it’s useless. Constantly crashes, seems to have a mind of its own opening and closing tabs, speeding up and down when auto scrolling (going from .5 speed to 1.5 for example, on its own half way through a song) This is extremely frustrating when you’re trying to learn a new song, especially when you’ve paid for the service. I’ve sent two emails to the developers via the app, and never heard back, which is why I’m finally posting a review, since it appears they don’t care. I have the iPhone X, so it shouldn’t be an issue of compatibility. The update seemed great at first until I discovered all the problems. It seems like they were too focused on getting the update live, and ignored the fact it obviously wasn’t ready. I kept hoping they would fix it, but I tried using it again just a couple minutes ago before writing a review and it’s still has all these issues.

What’s with the shots?!. Basic features of this app don’t work correctly and there are numerous bugs, but instead of fixing those errors the developers have completely pushed aside that portion of the app to focus on the new shots section, making this app more of a social media app and distraction from its main function - finding and using guitar tabs. The home page, which used to show featured tabs and collections now is home to shots, with the featured tabs, collections, top 100 etc buried under another section. The search function could use a revamp - minor misspellings show no results, their system doesn’t allow for apostrophes so using those in song titles also yields no results. The quick scroll feature to navigate through your saved tabs when sorted by artist or song does not work, and frequently when scrolling through my saved tabs there is a bug where the page will jump around on its own. Occasionally clicking a tab won’t give any response until the tab suddenly opens a minute later. It is also difficult to create tabs on the mobile app. Stop putting so much into the shots section and spend a little time actually creating a finished product.

Can’t access profile page??? Please help!. I’ve been using your application for the last 4 years, maybe more, and have quite enjoyed how easy it is to use your system, and how many tabs I can easily access that will play in time together and actually sound pretty good with default sounds (miles better than MuseScore, anyway)! I have a couple of grievances, such as maybe making it easier to access differently labeled sections of a song rather than just scrolling through the thing, and being able to select the play bar more easily, but chief among my concerns is that I cannot access my profile tab! I’m not sure if this is a new glitch, I’ve no clue how long this has been going on, but I try to tap the profile button, and it fails to load and immediately takes me back to the home tab. If I try it again, black screen! Correct me if I’m wrong, but the profile is the way to access your own videos and create new tabs right? I wanted to add tablature of my own songs, as well as create more visual content, but seemingly I can’t do either! Anyone else run into this issue? I would love to hear some solutions!

Used to be great. Now completely useless.. I play music for a living. Being able to quickly pull up chord charts and lyrics is imperative to my job. Since the addition of user videos, this app has gotten progressively slower until now it’s so buggy I can’t use it anymore. I used to be able to scroll through the index to locate the next song I wanted. No longer works. Every time I attempt to pull up a tab from my song list, I have to click it several times to get it to load. Whenever I do finally manage to pull up a song, the autoscroll feature works half of the time and changes speeds randomly so that you have to edit the speed of every single tab. If I manage to get all of that working, to actually close out the tab I have to click the back button no less than five time before I get a response from the app. This is adding anywhere from 10 to 60 seconds extra of dead air time in between EVERY SINGLE SONG I PLAY. You used to be great UG. This is completely unacceptable for what is essentially an app that loads short text files from an offline database. I even bought a new iPad thinking that might be the problem. It was not.

Very helpful and convenient. I’ve been a long time user of this app, buying my membership in early 2017. It’s been extremely worth it and has helped with advancing my skill set immensely. I’ve tried a lot of other websites to get tabs, but none are as convenient as this when it comes to the handy tools provided, like the auto scroll and adjustable tab score. It’s very easy to contribute your own tab, which ensures that new songs are added into the database constantly. There have been very few songs I’ve not been able to find on here, usually because they’re extremely obscure or old. I’ve personally enjoyed the more recent addition of shots where you can see how other users interpreted songs or tabs. Also, one of the biggest pros to this app is their library of chords and various ways to produce them. I personally have really skinny fingers, so some traditional fingerings are hard to pull off. There are a lot of variations of chords they provide to help this issue. All in all, I’d definitely recommend this app to people who are seasoned players or are trying to learn a few skills.

Best Tabs/Chords platform EVER. I’ve been using UG Tabs since 2013. I love being able to find a song and instantly play along using the chords or tabs. I recommend this to all my musical friends and will continue to point people in this direction forever. UG Tabs is hands down my first and only resource for tabs and chords. Every other service WISHES they were UG Tabs. Their employees WISH they worked for UG Tabs. It’s the best. Do yourself a favor and check it out. If you don’t like something about it, tell them. They’re people. If it’s reasonable, they might look into it and get back to you. If you don’t like it, then that just means you didn’t spend long enough on it. Play until your hands hurt. Then get upset that you can’t play some more. Well, that’s what I do. I’m a Lifetime Member. I just found out RIGHT NOW that they have merchandise. Guess what’s going in my stocking this year for Christmas? Seriously, if you’ve read this far, just get the app. Good luck and have fun making music!

They took everything I paid for away. About six months ago maybe longer I bought the premium package deal thing. I mainly used it for the interactive tabs. Loved all the new features. I don’t know if this is a bug or something y’all planned but everything I paid for is not available anymore. It says that I need to upgrade to the full version. I already own it and I’m not paying for it again. I don’t know if you thought you could take it away and give it back after I payed for it again, but I’m not buying it agains. I truly hope this is a bug because I loved the app, but after this I don’t think anyone should it if they are going to steal your money Alright disregard my last post. During the full version deal there was a timer. It wouldn’t let me use any of the features I purchased. The full version deal would show up every time I tried to do anything that required the full version. After the timer went away it still wouldn’t let me access it. I waited a day to see if anything would happen. Nothing happened. I deleted the app and reinstalled it. It now lets me use everything that I bought. I am so thankful this was bug because I loved the app. Other than an actual guitar tutor this is the best place to learn. I would highly recommend the full version as it is very useful.

Greatest thing since sliced bread.... I started playing the ukulele about eight months ago. I was pretty well organized I had set up files for each song and put the research that I was able to find off the Internet into each of the file folders set up for each of the songs. It’s a lot of work. With this app you have everything you want in one place. Somebody has already done the research for you and has found the tabs, solos, the actual song itself and then the lyrics. This is the only app and in fact it’s the only place that you can find all of these needed tools in one place. I spent a lot of time consuming hours finding this same information and putting it together myself. You don’t need to do that or do what I did because all you need is this app. So going forward now when I learned a new song I don’t have to spend half the time researching and locate in the information. With this app I can now just identify the song and start playing. Thank you.

The Best. Been using this site for my tab needs ever since I started playing. And saying that it has been an awesome experience would be an understatement. There are new tabs being posted constantly. There are almost always multiple renditions of the same song depending on your difficulty level (which really helped me progress). And such a personal company that I was able to send in a suggestion to improve the site, and within a few weeks the new feature was added. Whenever I go to any other tab platform, I end up feeling discouraged by the lack of interactivity and personalization ultimate guitar provides, especially if you spend the couple bucks for tab pro. Then wait around for Black Friday and pick up a lifetime subscription for like 60 bucks. The community is also an awesome point that must be touched on. All constructive feed back. And whenever you feel a tab is a little off, you can go to the feedback and usually someone has already posted the solution.

Love it!. I started out using UG 3 years ago and since then I’ve grown so much a guitar player. While I would recommend taking guitar lessons for actual technique on the side, UG is perfect for continuing to learn, play and sing at your own pace, anytime anywhere. The first year I had this app, I only had the regular version, which doesn’t allow you to have access to certain things like official tabs (which includes picking tab), but as a beginner, I found that I didn’t need or want to buy the pro version. Then, as I got more advanced and as I decided I wanted to learn picking and play official versions of the songs I play to perform for others, I got the pro UG for a very reasonable price and it was a great decision. Now, with the pro version, on the app I can listen to each song and slow it down to practice along to at my own pace, print out music so I can travel with paper copies of songs, and have the screen scroll for me at whatever pace so I can play without having to touch the screen at all. Highly recommend for beginner to intermediate guitar players! ;)

✨the best✨. this is the best guitar app!! I’ve been using it since early 2018, and used the previous app before that. I love how you can add shots, thats really cool. Also, there’s basically any song you want to learn the chords of on here, and that’s because people can submit chords for the songs (people who submit the chords are tab authors, but anyone who can find out the chords and tabs for a song can be a tab author too). I also like how you can write a bio too, and also how there’s options to transpose the tabs. Another thing that I totally recommend is getting the premium package. I bought the all-time premium in 2018 on the old app (basically it was a holiday sale and I bought premium for however long I have my account, which I still do) and I absolutely love it!! But I’m not sure if the new app has the option to buy an all-time premium, but if it does, you should totally invest in it. Trust me, it’s worth it!! Anyways, this app is awesome and if you’re looking for a guitar app with chords and tabs, get this one!!

Review from a keyboard player. Where has this app been all my life?! As a classically trained pianist, I have always learned much easier from reading sheet music than trying to play by ear. But finding decent sheet music for keyboard parts of pop music is next to impossible. Or at least it was until I found this app. As the keyboard player in a band I’m called on to do lots of parts…. Keyboards, synth, strings, horns, harmonica, you name it. And this app has it all! The ability to see every part in standard notation is incredible. Even more incredible is the ability to mute or solo specific instruments so I can practice along. My only cons are that sometimes the transcriptions are a bit wonky. Parts show up an octave higher than they actually should be. Or you get strange things like C flats and E sharps. But those downsides are far outweighed by having at least passable music. I’ll occasionally transcribe into other note editing software to get an arrangement more to my liking, using the music here as a roadmap.

Not what I thought I was paying for.. I rarely ever write reviews on apps but this one made the acceptation. I’ve been using ultimate guitar on my laptop for years for free. I saw the app and it cost money but I thought it would be worth it to have it on my iPad, little did I know the charges didn’t stop there. Most of the content is only accessible if you pay for the monthly pro membership. If you don’t have the membership you can’t use the transpose function, every time you open a cord chart up you’ll have an advertisement pop up that you can’t close for at least thirty seconds and I’d say half of the content isn’t available unless you pay for the pro subscription. I’m really disappointed with their app and the fact that I payed for the app in the first place only to find out it’s set up like a free trial app that you have to pay that monthly subscription to have full use of it and to get rid of annoying advertisements. It’s probably all written out in the fine print what is available and I (like 99% of people) didn’t take the time to read the terms & conditions. I wouldn’t recommend this app to a friend, the website is still free but now covered in advertisements in the middle of the songs if you’re not a pro subscriber. Ultimate guitar used to be an amazing place for people to learn songs.

(Not) Disappointed. Two weeks ago I would’ve given this app five star review. And I think I may have already reviewed it before. Definitely worth the price. So that’s how I started this review earlier in the day and then went ahead to complain about the black screen and inability to access the music. It occurred to me that maybe it needed an update so I just deleted the app, powered off my iPad and then reloaded it and voila, an updated version which is cleaner and easier to access but still had all of the data I had previously loaded into song categories. I really love this app and I have definitely gotten my moneys worth. Sometimes the chords aren’t right as people have noted but folks, these are not professional versions offered by the artist but are interpretations by amateur players like myself. Sometimes I fooled around and changed some chords or eliminated some that made the song flow better. But that’s what it’s all about - playing. I have pretty much had success in finding a version of every song I have requested. Imagine what that would cost if you bought ALL that music! Great job. And I’m glad I was able to correct my earlier critical review!

Revised Review - much better on second look. I struggled with my first try of the app at the free membership level (see old review below - probably was trying to use a "Pro" tab while at free membership tier). Given the overwhelming positive reviews I switched to the web version, thinking "it can't be this bad - has to be me". It was me. I had such better luck with the web version that I upgraded my subscription for use on the laptop. Now, with a little familiarity, life is way better in the app too. Plenty of novice-level tabs available. I'm using favorites, playlists, requesting new tabs from the community and authoring my own. Ultimate Guitar is my daily practice partner. Wouldn't want to live without it. Already well worth the annual subscription and will get more value as my playing improves. [OLD REVIEW]Sorry, unusable here. Every time I click on the song I want to see I get the video ad to upgrade to pro. Dismiss the ad and I'm back in the main menu. I can't tell that this is anything but spam. Not enticing me to upgrade.[/OLD REVIEW]

I learned so quickly because of this app!. I must say this app has done wonders for me. I never played a guitar my life I’ve seen my man playing the guitar and I just admire the instrument and respect it so much because it is an instrument of infinite sound bc of all the different chords/ notes. This app has helped me learn how to play guitar and learn the notes of different types of G chords, the different ways to play a B minor, different ways to play any chord. It’s literally taught me how to play entire songs with ease. Of course practicing but bc of this app, I was able to learn an entire song within a week and yeah it comes with a lot of practice and repetition but this app is incredible. I don’t think I could’ve done it without this app. I wish I could afford to pay for the pro version so I can have the auto scroll and all the other amazing perks that come with it but this is an amazing app regardless and the free version is incredible. I love it and I recommend it to anybody who is Learning to play the guitar, who wants to learn how to play or even experts that want to learn new songs. My man and I use it all the time— he uses it to learn new songs as well as I do. I couldn’t be more grateful for this to happen the free trial the seven day trial that was when I learned how to play the guitar and entire song in that seven day period. 10 stars across the board

I hate when they do this…. Well, I used to love this app. I used it all the time. But now they have this update so that you can sing and play instrument at the same time which is fine if you want to. And they are wanting to charge you for it. Which is fine if you choose to do that. However, you can't get past that to get to your normal stuff and get back to the regular screen. so every time you scroll through that's what you get. You can't go any farther. That makes this useless to me! Please change this! put a little X or close or no thank you so that we can actually get back to our normal songs and chords. UPDATE: Apparently there was an update available to the app which I ran and now it no longer does that. But I wish it wouldn’t give you this black hole until you actually run the update. So annoying! But now it works great again. I would give it five except for that hiccup. Also maybe it’s me but I have issues printing the cords out. The words go way to the very beginning of the page rather than having a decent margin and things kind of run into each other. Also, there’s no title so I have to write it in. Is that on purpose because of copyright?

Wonderful but needs improvement. I use this app nearly daily and I love what it’s turned out to be over the years. However, there are some UI problems that need to be addressed. The search feature is not as good as it could be. You have to be far too specific, apostrophes and etc need to be in the right place or else you will get completely wrong results that honestly do not make sense. It’s just not very smart. The auto play feature is spotty. It can be very annoying scroll to a new spot, click play, and have your spot go back down. Once the red line is off the screen, it shouldn’t be accounted for. In general, the app feels very square. Very rigid and face value. There doesn’t seem to be much programming focused on the user experience. It has features that would work wonderfully, but they don’t interact well with the user. This app has so much potential. A few bug fixes, and more done to make this a smoother experience would be fantastic.

AMAZING😘😊❤️👍🏼🤟🏻😍👏💋. So I’ve had this app for about a year, and I absolutely adore it. You can switch between multiple instruments(I mainly play guitar) and just about any song you can think of is available and it will show you the chords along with the lyrics. One of the great things about this app is that you can make a 60 second video of yourself playing the song and post it on the app, and other people will be able to see it and like it. This app doesn’t make you have a premium subscription or make you pay for anything to do stuff other than see the official tabs, but other people also like to create a tab, so you can see that and still be able to play the song you have in mind without being able to pay anything. This is by far the best guitar app Ive downloaded in the 14 months I’ve been playing guitar. Thank you to all the developers for creating such an amazing app that will allow the musical creativity of so may people just grow and shine. I love you guys!!

Pretty Great Tabs!. I’ve been playing guitar for a few years and I always use this site to find my tabs. I used to watch Aturn3d’s videos before he stopped making them, and these tabs are accurate like his is. This is my advice for finding the best tabs and playing the songs most accurately Just because a tab is ‘Tab 1’ doesn’t mean it’s the most accurate, I usually go for the one with a combination of the highest rating based on stars, and the one that has been rated the most. Sometimes you’ll find these tabs aren’t perfect either, so go and look at the others until you find a combination of the tabs that makes sense, feels good to play, and sounds good to play. The pro charts are usually the most accurate, but can be off putting because it will divide guitar parts into 2-6 guitars making you go back and forth between the versions until you can memorize one and play it while playing along with the other. Great app for guitar players, and the added shots feature is pretty cool too.

money grubbing app. We get it. You need revenue. But the user experience on this app is terrible. This website has been the go-to for over a decade, but the more popular it gets the worse the experience has gotten. They are not a poor start up trying to make some $$, so their desperate ploys to get you to upgrade to pro are hard to swallow. The majority of the content here is user uploaded anyway, so you're essentially paying for a scrolling feature that wasn't been updated in years and a metronome & access to chord variations (which they tell you are accessible when you download the app, and then when you download they let you know it'll only be with pro). If you're invested in Tabs, pro is worth it because that feature is virtually unusable in the free version. Pop up ads at every turn, and cheesy early 2000's style too. Painful. Also opening links into the app almost never works for me, and is frustrating to say the least. If you search in the app, every time you open a link you have to watch an ad, so you google to avoid this or someone sends you a link and you want to open it? 8/10 you're going to have to search for it via the app....

Love this app! But there is one problem.... When I first started playing guitar, I was over the moon when I found this app! This app has helped me to learn so many chords and songs on my guitar but I have one problem with it. Whenever I want to play a song for a friend or a family member, I constantly have to pause in the middle of the song to scroll down so I can see the next part of the song. There is an autoscroll setting, but it’s only for premium users😕. This has become a problem for me because autoscroll -to me- seems like an essential requirement to play through a whole song for other people without having to memorize every single chord and when the chords come in, PLUS the lyrics! I think it’s good that there is a premium purchase because some of the premium stuff is VERY high quality. But autoscroll? I think that it should be available to all users so everyone can play the songs that they want and not have to stop the song every 10 seconds to scroll. That’s just my opinion, but it’s an opinion I feel very strongly about. Otherwise, this app is amazing for both beginners and experts!♥️♥️

Subscription without notification. One day, after using this app for sometime, my account was suddenly a “pro” account. I got charged for a subscription but I never consented to it. The tabs are good quality, but not warning someone when they’re going to get charged for something that they didn’t agree to is pretty horrible.

ABSOLUTE GARBAGE. As an expert player looking for a good song book this seemed awesome. Nothing lines up to where chords should be played. Incorrect chords half of the time. Stupid ads after paying for the app in full. AVOID THIS SHODDY WORK AND JUST HIT UP ANY SEARCH ENGINE ONLINE FREE.

Just stop. I just want to see guitar tabs.

Excellent!. Nice

Not working. Disappointed. Out of all my songs I have downloaded only a few work. Click on listen and nothing happens. What’s going on?

Bad. This app non stop bombards you with ads and begs you to pay for a subscription and limits what songs you can see the chords. this app is a headache

Needs fixing. I love the app and have been using it forever but it needs to be properly updated for the new iPhones. I had a 13 pro and when I would view shots I could never exit afterwards because the x was in the very top corner of my phone. Now I have a 15 and it’s the same problem but worse.

not the best. app just had pop up ads every minute and completely freezes over and over again.

Great app!. I just love the simplicity of this app. The pro is cool to have for beginners like me who cannot pick up chords by hear just yet. Tuner and tools in a phone that was a cool and must have thing. Love this app.

Money hungry. It’s impossible to navigate this app for more than 10 seconds without being asked to buy premium. Shameful.

Not What I Wanted. I was looking for a simple app where I could access chords and tabs and song structures. This app does have all of that but it’s buried underneath a useless social media and video sharing platform that I have to navigate around. Also, I paid $49/year for the tabs and every time I use the app I get constant ads and pop ups to spend an extra $29 for all the lessons. I don’t want lessons, I want a song-chord database and that’s all. I will not be renewing.

Long time user, disappointed. After 10+ years of loving this app— I feel cheated by the new updates. While the introduction of “shots” removes a barrier between the user and the ultimate guitar tabs community, it takes away an integral part of my, and probably many other users, musical flow: THE ABILTY TO CONTINUOUSLY RECORD AUDIO USING VOICE MEMOS WHILE USING THE APP TO READ CHORDS. This has been a part of my songwriting and singing practice for as long as I can remember! Please, developers, fix this bug! I want to love this app again :’(

Shady App. They make essential functions premium so that you have to pay (ie, auto scroll isn't available unless you pay & ads will pop up in the middle of you looking at chords unless you pay). The thing that bothers me most, however, is the pop up that prompts you to sign up for premium & in order to get out of the pop up you have to scroll through multiple screens. It gives the impression that you HAVE to pay for the app in order to use it. I know so many seniors who use this app who would not know to scroll past and would think they HAVE to give their credit card info. This was clearly designed on purpose and is so disgusting.

Tuner doesn’t work anymore. I’ve tried to uninstall this app several times. However the tuner still does not work properly. It would be a much better app if this continued to work!

Just a little something. I absolutely love this app, I’ve been using it for years, and the recent changes are awesome! However, I think it would be useful to be able to control who you can be in contact with, as in, we should be able to block people. I saw a few users who harassed girls and I think it’s sad there’s no way to block them.

Just the worst!. Do you like ADS? How about OUR PRO VERSION BUY IT! Want to keep receiving SPAM EMAILS even though you UNSUBSCRIBED? Well lucky you, it’s all right here in this terrible app! In all seriousness, what happened to UG? Such a sell out, disgustingly anti-consumer platform now.

Terrible. Just search chords on google. Can’t even scroll through a songs chords and can’t go three seconds with an ad or a pop up begging for money. Don’t waste your time.

No offline play available. I have an off grid cabin where service is obsolete, bought in hope I’d be able to listen to chords and learn new songs while out there. No download option, at least I can’t find anything. For paying a yearly subscription things like this should be included.

UG Rocks. UG rocks, has most music I like to play. Thank you UG, you have helped me progress over the years. I am now an accomplished campfire player / singer :)

Doesn’t work anymore. Did the update. Now get black screen of death. Total drag.

Cash Grab. I do not recommend investing your time and energy with this app, or company. I’ve used it for 10+ years, and I’m frustrated enough to finally leave a review. My reasons are: 1) It doesn’t matter if you’ve already purchased a pro subscription, you will constantly be bombarded with internal ads for their other services. (This is my biggest gripe… I paid to stop having ads, STOP FORCING ADS DOWN MY Fn THROAT!!) 2) The app is slow. You might open up a tab, start playing the tab in front of people, and then have a full page ad, for some UG service that blocks your view. All because the ad couldn’t load fast enough. I will never use this app during live performances again. 2.5) You can click on a tab… it doesn’t load, you click again, doesn’t load, you wait 10 seconds, nothing, click again, nothing, click again…. It opens the tab 5 times back to back. (Occurs on newer devices too)

Subscription problems. I’m subscribed to a year subscription but every time I open the app it prompts me to subscribe to pro I’ve tried reaching out to them to try and fix my issue but I got no response

Francophonie. Il y a dans cet application de plus en plus de chansons québécoises. Bravo!

You can download tabs!. Its worth it just for that

Great app. Great app must have for any guitarist

So sad. Recently the app has become unstable on latest iOS . The songs do not change in music if flipping remotely just the song titles do … we are unable to use and still get ads for half the price I paid for it …. Buyer beware … customer support lacks very much and apple is of no use either …

Annoying. I like the tabs and access. However I hate that I have to pay $15 to access it and then for it to open on tab tracker everytime.

It’s been about six months now. ...and since that time I’ve learned about a half dozen songs. And I’m a beginner. You don’t know how much a guitar and this app has enriched my life. Amidst this pandemic and isolation, learning something difficult like a guitar with much more ease is something i can’t put into words. Thank you ultimate guitar tabs. Thank you for your consistent attention to improving the app. Don’t worry we notice. Those (free- but i purchased the pro version) video lessons are truly awesome and generous. I’m practically crying as i write this. This year has been tough on so many and you guys brought light in. Thank you.

So easy to learn songs!. Thank you for making learning new songs so easy. Love the tabs plus actual strings view feature. Thanks Guitar Tabs!

Absolutely disgraceful.. Want to pay $3 for slightly better scrolling and still be bombarded by ads? Well here's your lucky chance! Apple should remove this app until the people at Ultimate Guitar start having the decency to treat their customers with some modicum of respect.

Glitchy. The app is constantly freezing. I wish they would just fix their website so that I can use it on my phone instead of the app.

Vocalist. As strictly a vocalists tabs offers the best platform for all around music opportunities, as I show up at jams and get up to sing and all I need in formation to provide by folks that a comping me. Kind Regards Laurie Kendall Porter Jr.

Its not as good as it use to be.. This app use to be exceptional!! I’ve been using it for well over 10 years and I can confidently say that in the last year or two it’s gone down hill sooooo much. Also what’s with all the updates?? Everytime I open the app it seems to need a new update. Not a pleasant user experience anymore what so ever.

sounds. i have no sounds from the app. all other apps have sound but some reason this one i can't hear the music.

Pretty good but there's to much in app purchases. Not to bad

Used to love this app. Now I find this app annoying. It used to be cool now it's too commercial. Better apps like Riffstation are back to the basics.

Refund incomplete. I requested a refund and it was incomplete. I made a mistake by not cancelling the renewal and I explained them the situation and they still charged me. They gave me the difference of an annual subscription minus one-month subscription. I paid $74.99 and they gave me a refund of $50.00. I don’t understand how they did the math. In the instructions says to cancel the renewal from the account/subscription and when I went there I couldn’t find that option. It seems that they don’t care about their customers. They charged me for a service I don’t want and mistakenly didn’t cancel on time. I wonder if this type of business practices can be reported to the authorities.

Well done. All previously encountered problems have been steadily addressed and the app has continued to improve. The edit is something I have long awaited to allow for minor corrections and capo preferences etc. Thanks.

Recent update requires internet. I have been using this app for some time, and I certainly remember when this app used to work offline when you went to a place with no internet, but it appears to need internet connection to be useful. I don’t know when this happened at all, but I didn’t pay for an app that needs to have internet 24/7.

Consistently buggy. Really inconsistent support for iOS. Currently all the features on the top taskbar are unclimbable on an iPhone 15. Without a back button the usability is really bad. The chord selection is incredible, but I’m paying for the premium service so I expect more

It kinda sucks now 🤷🏻‍♀️. I’ve been using ultimate guitar’s website since I started learning guitar years ago. It used to be so helpful and chucked full of stuff that you could use even without the pro features. Now that I come back after a few months of not playing, I find out you need to use an app for most of the songs…annoying but whatever. But after downloading I find that the app somehow has less songs than the browser and tries to grab your money every 5 seconds—bull crap. I honestly hate this app and how downhill UG has gone. It’s almost too commercialized and going generic, not the way everyone knew and loved it to be once. Hope they restore it!

STUPID APP. actually the worst. ads literally every time you click something. i can’t even do autoscroll on the app without having a membership ?????? dude!!!! MONEY HUNGRY CREATORS

Ultimate Guitar. I've been away from guitar for a while. This app helped me relearn those skills quickly. Chords, lyrics, a huge choice in songs...a year's subscription is worth every penny.

Wish I was driven. I've sucked for year but I enjoy to play and this app works beautifully at my level. Like the gym membership I pay for every month but never go. If I used these tools I'd be Danzig

Used to be good. Made unusable recently. Loved the app when I first got it and gave it 5 stars even been subscribed for years. Recently found the app doesn’t load have a new iPhone 14 so processing speed isn’t the problem. Game continually loads infinitely with no progress have to constantly delete and redownload just to look up 2 songs max before I have to restart the increasingly ridiculous process. Fix the game it has way too many bugs now. Was a way better app back when it was just made for looking up tabs

Guitar tab the best!!!. The best guitar tab/chords I ever used. I’m happy that I discover this app!!!

What happened to Listen. Very disappointed that the Listen feature no longer works with the original artist. It was one of the things I enjoyed about this app. Instead seems to be replaced by amateur patrons and teachers looking for business. Or, in many cases, nothing. Did you run into copyright issues?

Great learning and wide variety of choices. Very satisfied and only for 20 annually is a deadly deal figured I’d try the free trial and within the first few minutes I knew I was going to be getting the subscription. Just had a few questions one of them being what is the “s” and “m” next to the instrument on the songs I clicked them and didn’t hear any difference was just curious. Highly recommend otherwise ! A+++

Tabs won’t load. I loved this app until recently. I can’t load any of my saved tabs or new ones. They just have a blank screen with the loading sign and never actually load. I’ve never had this problem before and the app is up to date. So not sure what’s going on but if the tabs aren’t loading then I can’t use the app. My internet connection is fine too so it isn’t that.

completely bugged right now for some reason. black screen even after reinstall and restart

One stop shop for all you needs!. Yes, it is not all inclusive if every single aspect of the music industry, but expecting that of anything in any culture or app is ridiculous. What it DOES have is a huge selection, with input from common folk like myself up to the big wig professionals and bands we all idolize and adore. I have been able to teach myself so much that I never knew was out there, on multiple instruments, thanks to this app. I first discovered it several years ago when it was just a website, and now as they features are added to this app and are continuously improved upon, I continue to find new information and aspects that push me and drive me to learn. My band I am in that is trying to make it big has been able to use this as an amazing resource as well. They are also fantastic at responding to customers and their reviews, and making sure that everyone has the best experience possible. Thank you Ultimate-Guitar!

Suggestion. I love this app so much! The unlimited is worth every penny! I use it for acoustic gigs and when songs need to be learned on the fly, and it’s incredible. If I could add any features it would be a filing system for multiple set lists (so that you wouldn’t have to scroll through your entire collection, but to be able to group certain songs together for easy access) and a feature that would allow you to mark up/paint on the music for side notes, vocal cues, etc. I’ve played with people who leave notes out or want me to only sing certain backups and I have to try and remember on the spot 😂 if there was a markup/paint feature I could just scribble on the music, and get it done with no worries. But even still, UG has CHANGED THE GAME! GET IT! You won’t regret it! Every guitar player needs this, you’ll save so much time when you’re in a bind to learn a lot at the last minute. 🤘🏻

It does what it’s supposed to. It shows you the lyrics and the chords that go with it, but if I’m spending the money to get the pro membership, the least they can do is put like 10 minutes into working on the user interface. A big thing is from time to time the app will just crash for certain songs. But my biggest complaint is the playback speed is not connected to what lyrics it’s showing. On the official tabs it will autoscroll faster than the lyrics EVEN THOUGH it knows what lyrics are right bc it’s highlighting them. Then if you adjust the playback speed to better match the lyric rate with the autoscroll, the whole playback will slow down. That really needs fixing. This is a phenomenal app and I’ve learned a lot from it, but more time is DESPERATELY needed in making the user experience better. Keep up the good work lads.

Breaks My Phone. The app is very useful and has a ton of options and songs when it decides to work. Whenever I go to a song, no matter the rating or popularity, my phone (not just the app) stops working for a minimum of 20 seconds. The whole phone just freezes. I can’t leave the app, do anything on the app, notifications get blocked, it’s a brick for 20 seconds. I’m on a standard iPhone X and it doesn’t seem to want to support the tabs app. It doesn’t happen with any other app, it doesn’t happen when I open the app. Only when I open a song within the app. Also, the chords are never above the correct words, but if you have any inclination for music you could figure it out. The formatting really needs changed, there’s too much information on one screen so it squishes as much as it can and it throws off the chords and words. Especially in landscape mode. Still love the app. Still pay for the subscription. Just wish it would run smoother and be more user friendly.

Practically Perfect Except For One Thing. I had recently found an old ukulele in my room and wanted to stay playing. I downloaded the app after seeing a few ads and really enjoyed it. Their collection of songs is extraordinary and I learned many new songs. I never purchased premium, because I’m not that serious of a player, and the app was still great without having yo pay. When opening new tabs, an ad will open up, no problem I just wait until I can click out of it. Recently however, the ad, even after a an x appears in the corner and I’ve clicked it several times, still remains. I get stuck on that screen, but my phone itself is fine. When I close the app and restart it, this problem still occurs. Eventually it resolves itself. This has happened a few times in the past month or so, but I would not let it prevent you from downloading the app. Altogether, it is well done and useful.

Amazing app but a few problems. It’s a great app and it really helped my guitar career take off! It has great quality tabs with a great social community! You can post shots and that has been great for my confidence and emotional state! I had a few problems with the app though besides the good. For one, after an update recently (April 2023) I started to have major lag issues. For example I couldn’t open the app for the first few times and it was loading. I was near a reliable Wi-Fi source each time. Also sometimes I click the like or comment button and it does nothing. I also feel the fact that most videos have to be all music is unjust to the fact that we may want to say thing. It is not fair to the users to take down videos that they worked hard on. I feel like adding stickers and childish stuff does not benefit most people and bug fixes would be more useful. We aren’t all 5/10 years old. Thank you for your time, UG User

Long time user before the app. While I do really appreciate the access to great free guitar/bass/uke tabs, I can’t say that this service has improved in the course of the past 9+ years. I’m not looking for any fancy extra features, just here for the music and would prefer if really loud ads didn’t pop up every 10 seconds when I’m trying to learn a new song.. Hasn’t happened when I use the web version, so if that’s something that improves on the app I’ll change my review. -EDIT: I have absolutely no issues with having ads, I totally respect that it’s necessary. A simple solution could possibly be just to play the ad when I click the tab, and then let me get on with learning. My only issue is that it continues to pop up multiple times, stop the song I’m playing to and then starts playing an ad. This means I have to, not only turn my speakers down while the ad plays, I also have to go out of the app, turn the song back on and then start over, only for the ad to pop up again in 30 seconds.. Will remain hopeful for improvements.

Few bugs but great overall. I’ve been using this app for about 3 years. I’m a self-taught guitarist so using this app really makes learning songs easy and quick to learn. As for those of you who want to learn guitar, this app will be your best friend in learning any songs you’re heart desires, just not every song is available FYI. A down side I had is the price. Yes, you have to pay for the app which I thought that was it but once purchased you also have to purchase the “PRO” edition in the app. Yes it was a bummer but I didn’t mind paying extra for the PRO. As for the new version they come out with, its great, excellent design for the platform but, and I say this because most users also have this issue, it’s become very problematic. What I say by this is that I’ve had the issue with the app freezing and lagging either on the search or on the tabs which became quite annoying having to refresh the app constantly. Overall, it is an excellent app just, it just need better maintenance.

Indispensable for Musicians—Ditch the Shots. Love this app. Gotta have it if you play music, especially if you’re doing bar/cover gigs, and the pro features are really useful and impressive. But please, for the love of God—stop making the shots pull up first thing every time I open the app. I do not care about other people’s bedroom covers of these songs, and it just makes the app take way longer to open. Not every app has to be a social media app, and I don’t see any way the shots could possibly boost engagement. If anything, it makes me wonder what my other options are for quick access to a large library of charts. If you’re operating with minimal cellular reception, the shots thing can really limit your ability to pull up the next song, which for a lot of guys can hurt their bottom line. There’s no other app like UG Tabs, so you don’t need bizarre gimmicks like instagram reels for ukulele players. 🖤🖤

Great app, I recommend but.... I love this app. I’ve learned so much about guitar and enjoy learning how to play songs I love on the guitar. I bought the premium version a while ago and it was fairly worth it. More access to better tabs and also autoscoll which is great. But the one thing that always gets on my nerves is that I can’t remember a time that I’ve had this app (for almost two years now) that it hasn’t had A LOT of annoying bugs. Sometimes tabs take forever to load, other times just everything is slow. And currently, tu can’t even open the app at all, it just completely goes black and crashes every time. Overall I would recommend it because despite the long waits for the tabs and such, its a great app to teach yourself guitar. However, I really wish that the guitar tabs community would spend more time fixing the countless because as of now, I really don’t feel like I’m getting what I’m paying for. I do really like the app otherwise tho and it would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

this app is on a downward spiral. Update: just got an unskilled survey that was ultimately just an ad for premium. They put more effort into downgrading their service to make premium better than to fixing glitches. There is now an ad every time you open a tab and yet they haven’t fixed a glitch that causes the app to freeze half the times you open a tab. But you still get the ad without a hiccup. They have made it so basic features that are enabled on laptop do not function on mobile. Features as basic as sharing a link for the tab or as essential as auto scrolling are now “premium” on mobile. Today I write cause for one I can’t see if my previous review went through and a really good tab for After Hours by the VU is now gone. While I understand that the user who submitted may have made it private I noticed what I believe is a new “pro” tab in its place. And I cannot help but to suspect that they might delete a tab to make their own, which is behind a paywall, more appealing. Good riddance. Don’t give these people your money if you don’t have to. You’ll give ‘em the wrong idea.

Doesn’t work on iOS 13. I have used this app and website (before there was an app) for years and years. I recently updated my iPhone to iOS 13 and the app no longer works. At first the app wouldn’t even open, so I unistalled and reinstalled. Then it opened, but I can’t search for anything. It just says “nothing found” no matter what I search. It also doesn’t let me log into my account anymore. I have the paid version from back when it was a flat rate. I have been an ultimate guitar fan and customer for over a decade and I am very disappointed that this is what their product quality has come to. Ultimate Guitar, do you have a fix for this? Updated Response: I am updated to the current version 5.7.5 and I am still having these same issues. Is there anything else you guys can do to help me with this issue? If not, I’ll unfortunately have to switch to using a different app.

Why? Seriously?!. I have been using your site since around 2002 and have accumulated on huge list of songs that I like playing. I get my guitar out about 2 times every month having 2 toddlers in the house, it’s hard to spend more time on the strings when they aren’t full of macaroni noodles. Today was a very sad day for me. After being laid off from my 6 figure job on Thursday, all I wanted to do was me. I wanted to eat bad, skip the gym class, play with the kids late, after mom said it was bedtime and play my some chords on my guitar that had some resemblance of a song and I come to find out that my library of songs I have been building for years was now gone this morning. Like a kick in the crotch, I put my guitar down, walked downstairs and replaced the water filter that I had put off for 3 days straight. However, this time, not one drop of water hit the floor. Good day. So I will give UG 1 extra star ONLY because I am feeling generous.

Not what it once was. Have used this for years, both in the free and for the last several years, the paid subscription. It was primarily for me, a place where I could go to play songs on the piano that I couldn’t quite make out by ear. The focus was on the tabs/chords. Now it seems more geared towards social media instead of music. The app has become very glitchy and frustrating to use. Long long pregnant pauses before it opens a saved tab. Transpose feature can be painfully slow. I have a multitude of tabs and transpose many of them, only to find my changes were saved in the wrong key or not at all. I already pay and am worn out by the constant upsell ad every time I open the app. Not the developers fault per se, but the quality control on the tabs has gone to crap. Many of them are terrible, including the supposed pro tabs. I can’t understand why people would create the 6th version of wrong piano chords when the 1st version was spot on. Even worse, many of these bonehead efforts are getting 4+ stars. Getting close to canceling and using another option.

Great Support. This app (The paid version) is extremely amazing with everything that it does. I've only been playing guitar for about two weeks now, but I've already gotten quite a few chords down and transitioning as well as strumming pattern. I've yet to search for a song too and not be able to find it! Aside from that, the favorites are really awesome too. I'm able to pretty much recalibrate the song by editing lyrics or chords, allowing me to edit it to my own liking and allowing me to practice something that's more my level. Pretty much able to clean songs that have a great message but maybe a couple of cuss words, you know? Or implement the placement of a chord/strumming order etc in a place that it isn't written at. Anyways, I'm pretty much ranting now XD I just highly recommend getting this app if you really want to be able to learn guitar or honestly even some other instruments such as ukelele or maybe even piano, etc.

A great tool to improve playing, ear, and sight reading. I’ve been a long time bassist, and I still need help figuring out bass lines and chord progressions. This app is a god-send. I love that I can look at a tab for quick reference when I’m jamming or at a gig, or I can spend time with an official or interactive tab to really nail a part or learn a line I haven’t been able to figure out on my own. Playing along with the official tabs has improved my sight reading; having the track there as an audio reference if I get lost is awesome, and the ability to slow down the tempo to really nail groove, fingering, and more length is extremely helpful. I feel that my playing has improved dramatically after spending time with these tabs, more so than it has with actual lessons or music books. I say this is a must for musicians of all skill levels, from amateurs to gigging musicians looking to perfect their parts.

Highly recommend the premium. I taught myself to play guitar with this app...started simple with basic open chords and worked up to more intermediate stuff with bar chords and learning the cage system with some sus’s,Aug’s, majors and minors , but now I’m learning full solos and complicated finger style songs. The premium gets you 100% accurate chords for songs with verified tabs or chords and it give you the chord library, chromatic tuner( with alternate tunings), and the auto scroll feature where you can speed up or slow down tab, mute or turn up the volume on different parts of the song like bass, drums, click, acoustic, electric, leads, and rhythms, and synth’s. They also have a transpose for peaople who can’t sing I certain keys or play certain chords. And a simplify feature where it changes any complex or detailed chords to the most basic form. I’ve had it for about 5 years I think and plan on having it forever.

Almost perfect. I’ve been a long time user of the app and with the most recent update I’ve been even more impressed. A few things, personally, are holding it back for me. First, there’s a lot of lag when it come to switching between instruments in the pro tabs. It’s just not smooth at all and makes it very difficult when learning multiple parts. Second, in addition it does not indicate well what instruments play what part. Simply guitar 1, 2, 3 do not help me to know which is lead or rhythm or solo. I understand it is up to the tab creators to name the instruments, but it there a way to require indication of the positions?? Maybe it’s being too picky, but when there are 12 guitars listed in numerical order rather than position it is a pain to search for a particular one. These are really minor aggravations that over all take away very little but would add so much if included in future updates. Keep up the good work.

My thoughts on Ultimate Guitar app. This app is f’n great. Wether you’re learning how to play guitar/bass/piano/ukulele or if you already know how to play. They have most songs you could ever want. And then so many other features to the app. You can connect with other musicians, and watch them play/sing or post vids of yourself. Ultimate Guitar also seems to always be coming out with more features too. When I first saw how much the app cost I was a little wary. In the landscape of millions of apps costing like a dollar this was a bit more. The difference here is that Ultimate Guitar App is worth it. Not just another one of those countless crappy dollar apps. I use this app daily. The app developers seem like they want to give their members the best app that they can. Oh, and if there is anything that you would like to see in the app that isn’t there they have a way that you can contact them and make suggestions for that.

Too expensive for such poor quality. I have used this app a long time, and as a library of tabs produced by experts and amateurs alike, it is invaluable. That said, given that they switched to a subscription model some years back, it is inexcusable that the app itself is so slow, buggy and requires constant quits and restarts. Also, there are a lot of blues and jazz standards that never make it into their catalog. There are also a lot of very inaccurate or overly dumbed-down tabs that really sound very little like the songs they are meant to represent. I understand it is crowd sourced and the newer, more popular stuff will get the most attention, and that tabs must be for all skill levels.. But they keep adding features I don’t care about (I really am not interested in videos or premium “lessons”, for example) without adding the content I, and I think most musicians, actually do, which is simply a wider variety of more accurate tabs. I do welcome more instruments and the official tabs are generally excellent.

Great app, great community. The folks of UG and the community as a whole are outstanding, and the app with attention to detail by UG is always getting better. There is not a day that goes by that I’m not on the site via mobile phone and/or computer at a minimum twice a day going thru old and new tab from the sixties to present day. Many decades of music to absorb and enjoy, It helps in ways that are immeasurable…. Remember that song that you had the chord progressions down for the most part but something was missing no matter how times you tried but voicing was just off. You’ll most likely find it here. The app has gone thru so many changes and gets better all the time, so do yourself a solid check it out, get a Pro membership the cost is minimal and it opens access to so much more. Your not on Ultimate Guitar yet! You owe it to yourself pro, intermediate or beginner, rock on ! as always thanks UG staff and community! Feels like home!

breaks my phone every time. i’m having a hard time typing this out because i just played through 4 songs on this app and now my phone is overheating and glitching out. not the first time this has happened but this is certainly the straw that breaks the camels back. i’ve had this app for like 2 or 3 years at this point and it’s always been such a pain to use. it’s been a lot worse lately because even though more than 5 minutes of use makes my phone hot to the touch, i could usually open as many tabs as i wanted in one session and have no problems. over the past year, however, i’ve run into terrible lag, failure to carry out simple requests (such as taking me to the home page when i click on an artists name to see their discography), and these problems have now become so frequent and extreme that if i have this app open for more than 10 minutes it causes problems for my entire phone. it just caused my phone to power off and i had to wait for it to boot back up again. when it finally did my lock and home screen wallpapers were gone, it was just plain black. not to mention the battery drainage and inability to scroll on tabs due to lag. i don’t know what the people behind this app did to ruin it because i remember a time before this when this app ran almost perfectly. i hope this reaches someone who could fix this problem because i really used to use this app all the time but have now found it unuseable and i just want to play my favorite songs without my phone shutting down.

Great for musicians at any level. Highly recommended. Whether you are learning a basic melody, mining classic rock for riffs, or want detailed notation with music for every instrument in the band, this is what you need. I have yet to find a song missing from the library. This is the result of an ongoing careful and thorough exploration of music’s published content. As such, not every song is able to deliver tabs + chords + musical notation for every instrument and each performed variant. But there is enough here to keep me busy (guitar) for several lifetimes. Transposition is fairly standard in music apps, but they go farther, delivering tools designed to make the user a better musician. The simplification feature is great if you have yet to master the flat 5-major 7th chords. Guitar karaoke is a lot of fun. I like to use this to learn to sight read, which I can by mapping the guitar parts to the notation. All in all, a very complete library/reference.

Long time paying customer conned by ultimate guitar. I bought this app probably about 8 years ago when it cost 5 or 6 bucks. Pretty expensive for an app back then. Anyway you didn’t need to login to an account, and there were a few more free features included like free chord charts. Anyway, somewhere along the line they decided to make the app free and then charge you like 8 bucks a month for all the features that used to come when you just bought the app, and since I had not created an account I got completely screwed out of the money I paid for the app and now can’t even use the features I used to have access to. When I tried to email customer service about this to try and get my features back they were not helpful at all! They essentially called me a liar by trying to poke holes in my story and never once tried to right THEIR wrong. Never left a review for anything on line, but I have also never been this furious about the way I have been treated. I feel like trying to get someone to pay for the same thing twice is the definition of a con. Can not believe ultimate guitar, shame on them, I will find a different tab website to use. Would rate zero stars if I could.

LOVE THIS APP 🔥🔥. Never fails me when I need a quick resource to find the chords/lyrics to just about any song. On a real level, this is like my pocket gig trick. I play gigs and bonfires nearly every weekend and take requests often.. this app has come in handy on more than just a few occasions. There are multiple versions for each song, which is great if you need to change the key signature to suit your vocal range. This app has a tuner that will tune for you or has the option to tune by ear. If you're unsure of how to play a chord, the app has the chord positioning within each song. You can even hear how the chord should sound by pressing play. If you want to know the strum pattern, you can listen to the chord progressions. So many dope features, it's truly an all in one app. I never write reviews on anything, but this application really deserves 5 stars. It's the Perfect sidekick for any gig- anytime, anywhere. 🤙🏼

Love this app. I use it all the time. I have had it for over ten years and there isn’t anything else out there that is comparable. I highly recommend this for all levels of musicians. I have never had any problems until yesterday. My app got accidentally deleted. I though “No prob. I will just redownload it!” What I found out was you can’t just log back in. It makes you go through all of the customization questions again as though you are signing up again. I thought my account was deleted. I got customer support involved. ( by the way, excellent customer support and this was on a weekend)! So, if you accidentally delete the app, just anwser all of the set up questions and THEN it will let you log in. Do not click on “ sign up!” UG, can you just put the “log in” option on the first screen instead of making your tried and true customers have to anwser all of this annoying questions?

Great app, but.... I’m happy with the functions of the app. I don’t mind ads and I don’t mind what I’ve seen other reviews “paywalls” to content via subscriptions; ads are what they are and I honestly only ever use the app for chords anyway. Auto scroll is helpful and except for one or two obscure exceptions, I’ve never had an issue with finding the song I’m looking for. 5 star app. However. Making it so you can’t access most of the Guitar Tabs website on your phone’s browser, thus pretty much forcing those of us without laptops, or at least those who prefer to use their phones, to get the app is frustrating. It’s annoying that I can’t see diagrams of chords I’m unfamiliar with, have limited access to songs, and am constantly and consistently pushed to get the app. It’s so irritating that I have actively avoided getting the app and going to the website altogether for the longest time, opting for websites that are in my opinion of lesser quality, just because I didn’t want to be bombarded with the sheer lack of accessibility the mobile website inundates you with. Like I said, I enjoy the app and give it a five star review. But I needed to make it clear that limiting a user’s experience on one platform so that you can raise traffic to another platform is one of my biggest peeves with a lot of other websites. I hope I don’t come across as angry or bitchy, I would just like to see this resolved.

Works well besides tab inaccuracies and one annoying feature. There’s this really annoying feature that frustrates me every time I use the app, especially when I’m using it to teach guitar lessons. If you are scrolled down to the part of the tab that you are focusing on and then swipe down to check your notifications, adjust the screen brightness or temporarily go to another app, the tab will automatically scroll back up to the beginning- every time. If you are just looking at one part of the tab then you have to find your place again every time. It’s frustrating especially if you are playing music off your phone and need to pause it to figure something out because you will lose your place every time. Also, obviously not every tab/chord chart can be perfect but some of the “official” tabs have inaccuracies when compared to the reference recording. You are not allowed to make comments on the official tabs (as far as I know) so these mistakes will never be corrected.

Guitar help you seek= this app helps. I love that I can learn new songs every day and learn them better and more efficient. All the cool gadgets you have like time, tempo, metronome, and other awesome things just make me love the app more. Totally worth paying for. I had been playing guitar for a while but I wanted more challenges, and now I have them. Learning by ear does not to justice to the complex rhythms and things that show up in tabs! Thank you guys so much for giving me this opportunity to improve my skills! I guess it must have been quite difficult to dissect so many songs and I thank you!!! Great app for any level guitar player! I am a little confused though. I’ve heard a lot about this app being free, yet I did have to pay. I think it’s totally worth it and I got a great deal, but I don’t know exactly what I bought now that I’ve heard a lot of responses about this being free. But a great app and I appreciate the effort this took to make.

I also love this app. I started learning guitar two years ago ( in retirement) and stumbled upon this app. I’ve used this app daily for most of the last eighteen months and have really enjoyed it. It has really helped my guitar playing. I particularly enjoy the official tabs, which include the proper timing for the songs. And the backtracks. Recently I’ve been getting together with friends who are experienced guitar players and introduced them to the app. They’ve started using it as well. When we get together I cast my phone to a large screen tv and we work on songs together. It’s a great tool. For songs which to not have an official tab, the user can request one. I requested official tab for New Speedway Boogie, a Grateful Dead song that non Deadheads would consider pretty obscure. I was surprised when last week I was notified that the official tab had been posted. So I’ve started to learn it.

absolutely ❤️ this app. i am in love with this app. i am a 14 year old girl and i started playing guitar about 1 and a half months ago, and guitar tabs has helped me literally SO much. i started out learning from my dad, which helped a lot but he isn’t exactly the best teacher. i learned basic chords, how to finger pick and i picked up on it pretty fast. i could play a few songs, but only the old songs my dad taught me. not even a week after i started playing guitar, i got this app bc my dad recommended it. i can play 100x more songs than i could without it. my favorite thing about guitar tabs is that it can show u how to play the chords. my dad was blown away that i could play some chords even he couldn’t lol. i also love that it has EVERY SONG I WANT TO LEARN. i was very surprised to see they even had Lil Nas X on there haha. the feature where it can scroll through the song for you is very nice too. i definitely recommend guitar tabs 👍🏼

Great App. This is so much better than what we used to have with which to learn songs: Guitar, Guitar World (or the cousin publication magazine of Guitar), or a Wolf Marshall book. Wolf’s tabs included the leads and rhythm on one line so it was impossible to decypher them. The playback is kind wonky with bends and palm muting, but I only use it to use the included tempo slide that slows down the fast parts. If you are just starting to play guitar, this is as good as an instructor. Not necessarily a replacement for one though. I’ve been playing for years and still can’t find a good way to hold a pick without it sliding around in my grip. This program is priceless for all kinds of musicians and music genres. Well worth the cost that I have for the permanent subscription they had when this first came out. God bless the creators of the app and those who submit the tabs. Great job all around.

Old dog new tricks. I’m 43 yo and decided I want to play. I found this app in February of 2021 and thought what the heck. I used it one day and never went back out of my own laziness. A month later in March my gf and I split up and I hit that app button. Within two weeks of actually following the apps advice and doing my part I have the C,D,G,and Am chords down really well already have a working knowledge of reading tab and starting to take on a song. This app is amazing for anyone who want to play music. I’m not a musician or one to write a review. After getting this app and taking advantage what it has offered me I feel like I am now a young musician that’s 43 yo and on my way to be a great one if I follow what this app has to teach. And hey, it was such a great learning tool in an app it even got me to write this review. Enjoy the app and you’ll enjoy playing the music you love!!!I Highly Recommend Using The App, It Will Make A Musician Out Of Anyone!!!

Ads while listening to a song.. First I want to say that I’ve had the app for years. I paid for a lifetime. I love the access that I have to songs, chords, tabs and shot. I love the tools. I love the app. That being said, I am very disappointed and very tired of when I want to listen to a song and play it with the chord progression that when I push listen, I am subject to listen to excessive and long ads before I hear my song. Today I punched listen and then had to sit through a 3 minute video of the problems of black pregnant women in America. Then when that video was over it went directly into another ad that was even longer. I can’t fast forward through them. They don’t pertain to me and I don’t want to see them. I don’t feel I should have to be subject to these 10 minute you tube ads to hear a 3 minute song. I paid for this app. Not for that.

Count-in stopped working. I have an iPhone 11 running iOS 14.8. I am running the latest version of this app. Back in May the count-in feature stopped working right, when playing an official app with the backing track activated. The app would freeze and have to be restarted. Now 5 months later the app quits under the same scenario. This was never fixed in the first place. I have reported this twice with no response. Just to make sure I am clear. I activate the backing track and have the count-in turned on. Then when I press play the app quits itselfs. This does not happen with pro tabs or when the backing track is no activated. This has become a huge disappointment with using the app. This means I cannot come in with the first note if it starts on the first or second bar. Besides that this app has been wonderful. The only thing I would love to see if actually have the full song play with the tab being able to scroll along. Please fix this, as this app is amazing with all the content and features otherwise.

APP HAS ALWAYS BEEN HORRIBLE AND ALWAYS WILL. I’ve been using this app for around 10 years now, and after all those 10 years and the “improvements” they’ve made to it, I can say that it is still just as garbage as it was 10 years ago. I actually just tried submitting a tab for a song that does not have any tabs submitted, to help improve the overal content available on their app. I wrote what the chords were, and instead of writing repetitively throughout the whole song decided to just say that it continues throughout the whole song. I guess this was enough for the moderators to reject it out of the approval queue though, no wonder there is hardly ever a tab I want. I tried responding to their comment (of course saying that I should’ve wrote down the chords mor repetitively, even though other tab writers have done the same) but it wouldn’t let me access the page, probably because it is a bad app designed by bad software developers and designers. Anyone with a right mind could restore that app to be good, but not these people. They can’t even program you a history tab to see what tabs you viewed. You can only see the past 4 search.

Ultimate Guitar. I have been using this website since I started playing the guitar. I’m not the greatest player but I can hold my own. I use Ultimate Guitar for basic cords and words. I’m not good with tablature, but give me a A B C D E F G, MAJOR , MINOR, Or 7th Cords and look out. I’m almost 70 years old, playing makes me feel young and like I’m somebody magical. I wish I would have started when I was a child, but mom couldn’t afford it. Thank you Ultimate Guitar for always being just a click away on my iPad. Music keeps me young. Music takes you to a better place in time. It brings happiness to our lives. I can’t thank Ultimate Guitar for being so affordable. I don’t know if it’s free or not but I have never had to pay to find words or cords for any song I have looked up. I’m sure sometime they might have to charge for the simple basic cords or words, but for now go enjoy their website like I do. Bless you all.

Very Disappointed. I loved Ultimate Guitar. I enjoyed posting short covers of songs and watching other people do so as well. I’ve had this app for only a year and just assumed that it was different from most social media. I never saw anything inappropriate for any ages, it seemed like the most reasonable app for anyone. Recently, I was watching the videos and someone had posted a screen recording of them scrolling through Porn Hub. I am very disappointed in this app. Usually, you guys take the time to review the videos posted on this app (for any users when your soon to be published video is saying it’s on moderation), and for this one you did not. I reported the video and account, but when reported his account I found he had posted quite a few more videos scrolling through the website. I used to enjoy this app and I’m quite disappointed. There is so many little kids that enjoy using it and I guarantee sone of them have now been exposed to more adult content that shouldn’t have even been on the app in the first place. I loved this app but I will not think twice about downloading it anytime soon.

Love us still the answer. Hello, my name is Kathe. I am 66 years old, retired and live in Oklahoma City, OK. Just found this song and keep listening to it over and over. I play the guitar but not that well anymore. I have played since I was about 15 years old...no lessons, just taught myself. This quarantine is hard because my son and his wife live in Montgomery, New York and my daughter and her husband and my two grandsons live here, but are under very strict quarantine due to her auto-immune status. So we see each other only on the phone. I am going to try and learn this song so I can sing it to the kids at the school where I usually substitute teach when we finally get through this quarantine! Thanks so much for sharing this song!! I have some problems with depression on a ‘good’ day so I need good songs and feelings to get me through. God bless all of you and thanks for the song, and letting me share!! Love really is the answer!

Great App, Very Useful!. This is a fantastic app and a MUST for any guitar player, new to the instrument or professional. I really love the fact that they include chords for other instruments for songs as well(guitar, bass, ukelele, etc.). This app is definitely a very efficient way of finding chords and words to your favorite songs and learning how to play them. If I could suggest one thing to the developers, it would be that there was an option where you could choose a certain genre of music and be provided a list of songs with varying difficulty in that genre. At times, I’ve wanted to play different songs than the ones I had in My Tabs but I wasn’t exactly sure what to play. As nice as the preset playlists are within the app, many of them don’t apply to my personal interests or provide enough options for songs. This feature would definitely make this app shine more than it already is! Well done and keep doing what you do best!

You are not ‘too busy’ to pick up your guitar!. As someone who used to go to the music store with a pocket full of change to buy sheet music when I first learned to play, this is really technology at its finest. I’m having so much fun. This afternoon, I totally wasted $15 on a burrito and beer that made me feel terrible but the $15 I just spent renewing my pro account made me feel so happy. I like the camaraderie of other musicians posting their covers as well. It provides good inspiration to not make excuses and sit down for at least 30 min a day. Given the number of years I’ve had a guitar in my room, I should have my 10,000 hours in already if I didn’t use life as an excuse to avoid pursuing my passion. Since my phone is always in my pocket anyways, I just find a new song to play and tap it out for when I get home, which I find to be a significantly better use of my time than scroll through news sites or social media.

Great. I spend most of my free time with this app. I found this app while searching for guitar tabs on safari. My first impression of this app was bad because after downloading the app and opening it from safari it looked like the tab i wanted to play was premium only. I tried another tab and it said the same. I deleted the app but after a few weeks i went back to the internet to look for more tabs for songs i love and re-downloaded the app. I saw the same thing from the first time but decided to try it out. Once i figured out how to work the app i fell in love with it. I now use this app whenever i get bored or want to play the guitar which is most of the time since schools let out for summer and i stay at home all day. Thank you so much for this app and if i had the money i would buy premium just to support the creators of this app. Keep working on this app to keep it up to date and make it even better!!

Awesome!!!. I've been using this app for around three years now and I still utilize it daily! When I decided to actually start taking guitar playing seriously, with the goal of being able to play and sing songs from start to finish, I knew I'd need a good reference guide for song chords. I tried a couple free apps first before I bought the full version... wasted time. For around twelve bucks, since I wanted all the options at the time, I have a great tool to practice with. Being able to have the lyrics and chords scrolling as the song plays has been so helpful. I went from learning chord shapes to playing and singing confidently on stage with my band. I was just a singer at first... now I'm center stage playing and singing so many of my favorites. Either at home with friends and family or on stage for strangers, I can now fully enjoy sharing music with others and feel like I wrote the songs myself. Thanks for this app!

Disappointed. I really enjoy guitar tabs. It makes it very easy to learn tabs and learn new songs. Guitar Tabs has been a really helpful tool while learning how to play guitar. There is one flaw though, a few months ago, I did a free trial for I believe 30 days. When it was done I deleted my pro account, but weeks later I found it was still saying I had a pro account. I checked my credit card to see if it was still charging me, and yes it was. I went to account settings to delete it, but there was no way to delete the account. I looked up how and it seemed impossible to get off my pro account. Sadly, I decided the only way to get off pro was to delete my account. I was very sad to do this because I thoroughly enjoyed using this app, but there seemed no other way around it. When I went to delete my account I found there was also no way to delete my account. I looked up how, but as before, it seemed impossible. I couldn’t just delete my account, I would still be paying for the account. Today still, I don’t know what to do. I would suggest you don’t get this app because they literally make it impossible to get rid of it.

glad I finally caved and paid for it. I’ve been using ultimate guitar online for a long time, but I never wanted to pay for it because I thought it wouldn’t be worth it. I finally caved when I *really* wanted the official tab for a song I was trying to learn, and honestly, I’m really glad I did. The official tabs are so helpful and I use them all the time, I really think all the functionality you get it worth what they’re asking, especially since I got my membership with the summer sale discount they’re doing. I only knocked off a star because once you have access to pro, you still can’t access all their classes and course without paying a second full subscription fee, and that annoyed me just a little bit, but I honestly get it. It’s a whole different branch of the website and all that. I also keep getting glitches when I try to upload videos and I’m not really sure how to fix it. Either way, the pro membership fits my needs and I’m glad I got it!

Great app but some issues. Good stuff: I’m a thirteen year old boy, and I really enjoy music. I got my guitar in second grade but lost interest. In the past couple of months, I’ve learned that I really like how the guitar sounds, so I researched guitar apps. After heavy research, my parents ad I decided that this was the app to get. I’ve had the app for about a month, and l’m really enjoying the app. I’ve tried playing stuff from Beck to AC/DC. Bad stuff: App is confusing to navigate when you open it for the first time. Also, it is not said in the description that there is a subscription payment, which upset me, but I was able to pay it. But the thing that Aggravates me most is the fact that after playing too many songs, the app sends an error message saying I can’t play anymore “official” tabs. This forces me to put down my guitar for x amount of time until I can jam again and learn more songs. Overall, It’s a great app for veteran players, as well as beginners like me.

False advertising and poor customer service. I signed up for Ultimate Guitar Pro (UGP) after searching for a song (Someone to Lava) and noticing that the chords and lyrics were offered by UGP. Once signed up, I went into the app to find the song and it was nowhere to be found. So I contacted UGP (and sent them screenshots of the lyrics and its availability on UGP) and finally after a second email complaining I'd not yet received a response, someone by the name of Aydar Faretdin responded saying I needed to use the "official forum" and sent me a link, which was useless in finding the song I was looking for. I followed up again and Aydar sent me the same link. It's like they didn’t even read my email, or they didn’t have access to the song in the first place, in which case their advertising is false and misleading. I've continued to email UGP/Aydar Faretdin but to no avail. They've stopped responding to my emails. What a joke this has been! Do yourself a favor and go with another online guitar service. Based on my experience, UGP will take your money and then ignore any responsibility to provide helpful customer service, while at the same time providing misleading ads.

Updated. Wish we could change print font. I’m on a free trial. MAIN GRIPE. When I go to print I cannot change the font size. I have to copy and paste (you can do this from the pro version print screen) to notepad in order to change the printing font size. The entire reason I tried the pro was to be able to print, which it does.... but it’s incredibly small and doesnt allow you to adjust anything. Half of a verse or chorus will be on page one and then you’ll end up with just a couple lines on page 2. I will probably cancel before I get charged for the year. Of there was printing font adjustments I would absolutely be a long time customer. If your only going to use an iPad it’s a useful app. OLD NOTES PROBLEM HAS BEEN FIXED. I have an iPad Pro. The app doesn’t work. I try to search for a song. Song shows up. Click on it and nothing happens. I try to go back, app is frozen and I have to force close. I’m on version 13.3.1 I’ll have to stick to he website. Make sure it works before you buy it!

Great for finding worship lyrics and chords. As a music worship leader, and as someone who doesn’t like wasting time, this app is great for finding chords and lyrics to worship songs quickly. And because people can submit their own versions, I am sometimes exposed to some unique arrangements that I prefer over the originals. My only request would be that the auto scrolling matches whatever tempo we want to play to the song. It can get frustrating trying to get the scrolling set to just the right speed so you’re not having speed up or slow down your playing. Maybe that’s only doable on the songs original version, but maybe it’s possible to set the tempo and have the text scroll to match it? I’m not a developer, so I don’t know how easy or difficult that would be to do. If you are looking for a way to find chords and lyrics (worship or otherwise), I highly recommend this app. Thank you to the developers and to everyone contributes their versions of songs.
