Super helpful. Great app for an art viewing novice like myself. Unless I'm missing something, the only thing I'd love to see that I don't currently is some sort of search feature.

Doesn't work with ios12 or later:(. I like this app and have been using it for awhile but it doesn't work with ios12 or later. Please update!!

Great. Simple & useful !

Usability / Aesthetic. Pretty useful app for me but could you guys add a search/query function to the application? Searching for specific artists or exhibits would be way less of a pain. Also, oddly enough, with this being an app to find art, the interface and aesthetics of the app seem dull and boring.

Excellent. Easy to navigate, can search by type of media- painting, photography, etc. The visual thumbnail of the show is worth the price of admission alone. On the website you can search by your favorite artist - example " where are all the galleries that are showing Stella's work. Search by location, and what is near by that gallery is great feature also. Would definitely recommend this.

Creative Director/Artist. I LOVE this app! I check it every day for the newest art openings and keep track of all the gallery shows I want to see. I especially like the map that swooshes pins down to show you the gallery locations in whatever area you want to look into. I've tried other similar apps but this is the best I have found. If you love to gallery hop in NYC you definitely want this.

Better than ArtNear!. I used to rely on the app ArtNear to keep up to date with everything today's contemporary artists are up to. But I found that ArtNear was slow, laggy, glichy, and from my experience, not up to date. I kind of needed a new news source for the art world, so when I saw this, I thought it looked perfect. I checked out the running website the devs have (this app is based off their popular site) and it looked good, but I wondered if this would be like ArtNear, and not quite be up to my expectations. But I thought I'd take a risk and buy NYArtBeat without any reveiws posted (gasp!). Wow, did that pay off. NYArtBeat is silky smooth, has never crashed on me, and, most importantly, is up to date and provides alot of info on the exibitions. The smart lists are a cool touch too. To the devs please don't forget to add the favorites like you promised us, they would be greatly appreciated! Also, it would be nice if the app would save the list of shows for a certain amount of time before disposing of them (say...seven days) for out-of-wifi browsing. With an iPod touch, I have to take screenshots of the show I want to read about to look at it out of wifi. Also, more personal info about the shows would be great, although not necessary. But thanks for a great replacement for ArtNear!

Please update so that it runs on IOS 11. Great app but it won’t open on latest OS - please update.

Great app but needs to be updated to latest iOS. Please update this app, so it is downloadable again... it is not compatible with the latest version of iOS.

Keeps me in the know. Simple but useful

Really fantastic. Not only does let you bookmark and save the openings you want to go to, it will plot them on a map for you so you know where everything is. Definitely the best app for the New York art scene

Please Fix!. This was a great app but the map feature no longer works with bookmarks. It's most likely the fault of Apple's flawed iOS update but the developers of this app need to stay on top of it. Unfortunate since this was an excellent app.

For artists this is a great app. I get every major art mag out there and it is hard to remember 20 shows or more let alone where the hell they are. I walk around the city all the time, this is a great app to guide you to what you want. To the maker of this app, stay up to date with everything on all the galleries, hot new ones pop up and vanish in this city all the time. Images and links, stay fresh and every artist in the city will want this.

Great App. I gave this app 5 stars but is anything ever really perfect? Well in this case I would say it's about as good as it gets when it comes to having your very own Gallery/Museum concierge in you pocket to help you navigate the NYC art scene. NYC always has a lot of everything and sometime you have an idea of what you want to do but have no idea where to start. This app is very useful tool when you decide to do an artsy farsty activity. The features, user friendly interface get you going in a few minutes. The Galleries are organized by area or borough. If you're not familiar with the city, you can pull up a map to help you locate galleries close to you. There are details of the artists being shown and one of my favorite details in the app is how long an exhibit will be at a particular gallery. This honestly is one of my favorite apps when it comes to a guide in the city.

Released way too soon. This app may eventually be okay for what it is. But there are a few no-brainer features missing. You can't find the exhibits at a specific museum without first being at the location which makes it ridiculously difficult to plan ahead. In addition, there is no search function. The "art talk" section is pointless since on any given day there are literally dozens of events like that at the Met alone, but it only shows two items -- one vague listing for the Cloisters and another somewhere else. Overall, seems like a very good idea that could eventually be useable with a LOT more development. Pretty useless right now.

It charged me money. It charged me money but there’s zero information about the gallery openings which was the reason for me to get this app

One of my most frequently used application.. This is a great resource and a welcomed alternative to constantly loading web sites. I would love to see social networking integration, especially foursquare and twitter. The ability to add dates to my iPhone calendar, would be great as well.

Really awesome. Very useful. Aggregates all the exhibits in the city. The exhibits are organized by location or medium or most popular. There's something for everyone.

Very useful. I had this app in an earlier iteration and used it a lot when I was out and wanted to see what was showing near me. It is even better now and SO useful for informing and planning an art outing.

Excellent!!. Every time I visit New York, I spend an hour with this app to decide what I want to see on my visit. The app's coverage is comprehensive, descriptions of shows accurate and succinct, and overall organization and search functions very good. The ability to search in your vicinity makes it easy to find shows and galleries when you are on the go. Overall, love this app!! If you are interested in art in Nee York, get the app! No doubt Tokyo is the same. I much wish there was a London Art Beat!

Useful app, but ads ruin experience. The app is really useful. The bookmarking feature is great and the sort by end date of exhibitions is useful. The app would be more useful if you could view your bookmarked shows on the map rather than in the list format. Unfortunately, they added ads to this. Ordinarily I wouldn't mind as I recognize developers need to make money. But when you pay $1.99 and then you get a splash screen of Bye Bye Kitty and then in between every listing they display an ad for Bye Bye Kitty, it's a bit too much. Not only that, but the ad navigates you away from the app. If anything it should open up the exhibition listing within the app. It's sad to see when revenue trumps user experience. Even more sad is the revenue they get from these ads can't even be anything that significant.

Great. This is a fabulous way to always find art near you or by neighborhood. Today is Christmas Eve wish the hours were updated to reflect who was closed today and the rest of the week.

Please update. Has been over two weeks since iOS 11 came out. Would appreciate an update to be able to use the app again, please and thank you.

Should be more popular. Why this app isn’t the gold standard for finding art shows in NYC is beyond me. It’s super useful. Branding / UI could use an update, and UX isn’t perfect but there’s really nothing like this elsewhere. Definitely worth downloading, and even paying for if you’re into art or especially if you’re trying to get familiar with the scene.

An art enthusiast staple シ. I first used Tokyo ArtBeat in Japan. Now, this is my go-to app for discovering current openings and exhibitions in New York. I highly recommend it!

Is it just me?. But I often can't locate shows I read about in The NY Times on this app. The reviews will state opening dates, but for weeks they don't show up here. Isn't there a way you could search the app by artist name or exhibit title instead of by neighborhood, opening date, or popularity only? It's kind of a pain, really.

Indispensable guide. The map function uses an Apple Maps interface, dropping pins for each gallery/museum/location from all of the shows I have bookmarked. An indispensable timesaver.

Needs to update. I cant use cause they are not keeping up a latest os update I paid a good price and really need to have this function Recently said it was updated but it’s still not working

Very handy. Great app! I find myself using it a lot. Few things, first it really needs to allow user to refresh the data as I'm finding sometimes its not refreshing and I'm actually out on a big opening night and some listings don't show until later in tr night when they are already over. Also I would like to be able to click on the image and it go full screen so I can really see it, and/or convince the people I'm with to go to that show. Finally what would be amazing is to allow us to display bookmarked shows all on the map as a group so one can see proximity of the shows to each other when planning.

Good Info but Missed Opportunities. The actual information they have within the app is par excellance. But it’s presented in a very dumb way. For example: if I select “Nearby,” it’d because I want to see what’s, well, nearby. It shows the hours of galleries, but why doesn’t it filter out the ones that are closed if it has access to the phone clock? Why won’t it notify me that a show I have bookmarked is closing tomorrow? Like I said: good information if I dedicate time to reading everything, but it could be so much cleverer and helpful if it tried.

Doesn’t update anymore. No galleries shown for Chelsea and customer support seems to have closed down too... It’s so sad that it doesn’t update anymore because it used to be the most convenient app.

I like this app. Very reliable. It downloads the data, so you can even read it in the subway. The one thing missing is a search by gallery name. Sometimes it is missing some important shows.

Get it. See more art.. Great way to keep track of what's up, and when it closes. Could really be improved with a better search function though. The ability to view ones bookmarked shows on the 'what's near' map is great, saves unnecessary walking. Enjoy the shows!

Update the resolutions for iphone 6/6plus. Please catch up with modern technologies if you decide to use it as a tool.

Fantastic. A voracious art enthusiast, I use this elegant app pretty much daily. Listed are all the shows I've read about and already earmarked, and so many more that I may not have found otherwise. Such love.

This is a must have for avid gallery / museum goers. Within minutes I can find out what's showing where and decided exactly what I want to see. My only suggestion is the bookmarks should be sortable and arranged by street location. This way when goers make their rounds, they can map out their tour. When this is done, it will be the perfect app.

New York Art Beat. Excellent app. Very helpful database for organizing art crawls. They just need to incorporate sorting function and mapping for the bookmarking feature.

solid. I enjoy the color scheme and easy navigability. The UI correlates with the desk site, making for an easy transition.

Almost perfect. When this has a mapping/sorting function that allows one to group bookmarks by location, this app will be perfect. That and updating for anomalous holiday closings. Wonderfully useful as it stands.

Weak. I bought this app for the map functionality, which is horribly limited and not comprehensive. You're better off just typing 'gallery' in google maps to find a more complete list.

Sweet app.. Well worth the low price. Extremely handy. Even has Brooklyn galleries...I've discovered some great art and hit some great receptions specifically due to this app.

I like it. This is the one of the most reliable NY's gallery finding apps. I have been using more than a half year, I guess, almost never had any trouble.

Must have for NYers. You have all the art shows there. Very comprehensive. Easy to use. GPS enhanced nearby function is god.
