Can’t exit ads in latest update. This app was very helpful. It had everything I needed – year-by-year, by category, and I could add middle/last names. However, with the latest update I can’t exit the ads that pop up upon entering the app. There is an ‘x’ button but I press and press and press, and it does not work. I would love to continue enjoying the app, especially since it now has the 2018 & 2019 name list (which I need), but again I cannot exit out of the ads. So I will be using the +version for now.

Advanced Search Options. Please consider some more advanced search options! For example, “number of syllables,” “name starts/ends with (the letter).” I have found myself using web search engines recently because they have these advanced search options.

Baby names only list top 1000 now. Why does the baby list names stop at 1,000 now?! I was at 1,500 names. I wanted to get through 2,000, like my first child, but now I can’t. Any chance of that coming back? Also, the feedback email address in the app doesn’t work.

GREAT APP. So many names with plenty of insight and knowledge behind them. I use this app for writing, but I'm sure prospective parents could get plenty ideas from it, too!

No rare names. It seems this app has absolutely no "Rare" or "Very Rare" names, despite listing these filters. I put no other filters, but no names were found for either gender. I downloaded this app specifically for rare name ideas but I don't think it can be used for that. I tried using the "send feedback" button to alert the developers, but the email address is not receiving mail.

Name FOUND!. My wife and I were having a hard time thinking of names to name our next kid. Downloaded this app and not even ten minutes later we found a name we loved!

It’s alright. Have found some very common names are not a option. There is also no option to add a name manually. Over all a good way to keep up with your list.

2 years out of date. The app would be great except they only have name data up to 2017. Not helpful when you want to know the most recent top names... They need to release updated info more regularly or it's pointless to look at their top name list, which could be completely wrong for this year

This is wonderful!. I love this App and I realize that everyone needs adds in order to make their product, well, productive on their part. Yet I am extremely grateful that someone would take the time to organize all of these names and it is certainly useful in so many ways!

Names by origin? Or names modified from other languages words?. I was hoping to find some nice names by origin... I’m extremely disappointed to see that all the Italian names are completely misspelled and many don’t even exist (or the spelling is so crappy that I can’t even understand which name they refer to)! I can tell just because I’m Italian, I know more or less most names and I know that our alphabet don’t have y J k or x letters! But someone that wants to call his/her kid with an Italian/french/wherever name need to be sure to have the right spelling please!

Wish it was easier for the purchase option. Hello. I am a blind/visually impaired person. While I enjoy using the app, there is no clear apparent way to get rid of in app purchases.

I LOVE THIS APP! But... Please fix it!!!. This app is awesome, I actually have had it for about 2 years now. I use it all the time for any and all names, but the reason I only gave it 4 stars is because, they haven’t updated it! It tells you how many kids were born in a year with that name. That is one of my most favorite parts! So please, update this! Thank you.

Useful app, if you pay. This is a nice name app, I haven't found a name that wasn't in it. It has the origins of the name and the meaning(most of the time). It also has has how to pronounce the names, but that's basically a joke. You'll have all of that if you pay for the 1.99 update. If you don't, then all you have is names. No definitions. Not Free! I really do enjoy this app, I use it to find names for characters in my stories and have been pleased by it. It has a large database of names that you can search using a mix of filters including rarity, length, and meaning. Overall I recommend it, since I’ve found it to be better than the myriad of baby-naming websites I’ve used in the past.

Finallyyyyyy 🙌. I've had this app for forever and have been waiting for it to update. I use it to name characters in another one of my games and I've been playing that for 4+ years so you can imagine how many glitches it's had. So happy to finally see it updated. Thank you guys!

Very Helpful!. Okay... So I’m way too young to worry about having children but it just so happens that I’m really good at coming up with my own original characters but I’m really terrible at naming them. This app is extremely useful when it comes to naming babies, characters, pets, Heck, maybe I might even use it to name my plants. This is multi purposed app in my eyes. 😸😸😸

Love this!. This app is awesome. It’s easy to use. I can scroll through various lists or look up any name I can think of and gets its meaning, origin, etc. I highly recommend!

Super useful!. I like to write from time to time and I play a whole lot of Sims, so this app is extremely useful for coming up with names for my sims or book characters. I also love the fact that there's different lists because sometimes you have an idea of what kind of name you'd like but not the name itself and its perfect for situations like that!

Broke after update. I’m 35 weeks pregnant and I’d been using this app to keep track of our shortlist for names since I found out I was pregnant. It worked fine for several months. Opened the app after the most recent update and it immediately crashed. I’ve tried multiple times and gotten the same result—the app won’t even load. No way to contact developers and it looks like I’m not the only person with this problem based on reviews. So now I’m a month out from delivery and I have to redo my list. Really regretting not taking a screencap, but honestly, there should be more safeguards in place to preserve users’ lists.

So many ads make it almost unusable & too gender rigid. Constantly having to figure out how to close the ads and getting tricked into clicking on them. This should not be considered a free app if they are going to make it so hard to use unless you pay. Also, there is no way to save names that are traditionally for a boy as a girl or vice versa. You can only search names under “boy” or “girl” There is no section to search for names that work for both boys and girls.

Missing features. This app needs to alphabetize the favorites list. I would also like to see the alternate spellings included with the main name instead of as separate name options. I don’t want to add 5 different versions of Cassie to my list

Works well but could use some love. Good, basic function- essentially a searchable baby name archive which is handy, but hasn't been updated for awhile and could use a refresh on the UI (looks pretty dated). Appreciate that you don't have to create an account to save favorite names.

Baby Names. Easy to use and very organized. I like being able to save my favorite names. Need to get names specific to Scottish origin though.

It’s great. I like this app because it provides a great variety of names, while other apps I’ve tried have a limited amount of options. I also like that it gives you many ideas for different ways to spell the names. This app also allows you to add your own name options to your favorites.

Complaint. Too complex who wants to know how many were born and in what year? what does it matter really? Many people just want to get to an answer on what the main meaning of a name and the language , not having to go through history of the name or other crap and what is the point of an add on isn't information supposed to be free ? This app has unwanted information.

Pop up porn ad. I used the app many times and then one night my husband and I are looking through names and my phone makes a sound it has never made before (mind you it was in silent mode) then horrific porn images/video pops up! I freak out and swipe up and tell my husband. I go back into the app and there it is. I closed it and deleted it. Just mortified. What if my kids would have been sitting next to me picking out their sisters name!?

Worth A Shot!!. Don’t usually review. Don’t usually see much utility with most apps I download. This one though, I had been playing with for about a month. Just perusing the different aspects of it. Saving names and checking origins and dbl checking them with other resources. Then.... I ran outta time. A short months time later, My son was born, Healthy, Beautiful & in desperate need of a name. So with it being down to the wire and we being in the process of getting ready to leave the hospital. I pulled out this app. In less than 10 minutes and the added weight of time and money bearing on us. Me & my wife decided a name as painlessly as pulling off a wet Bandaid. Go figure. Almost everything I had hoped it would be. My favorite baby name book ever is the Baby Name Wizard. I got this app because it seems to be the app version/ companion to that book. Some features that I love that they share: popularity trends, meanings, origins, style categories. What the app is missing that the book has: suggested sibling names, popularity charts through time. Some features I think would improve the app: a better filter system, more comprehensive list, more names tagged for style categories. Still my favorite name app though!

Inaccurate. It is repetitive, it shows different ways to spell the same name. In the Spanish origin section I found it is limited and incorrect for some names; for example Juan comes up in the girls names, when it should be Juana (female version of Juan). Also happens with Jose, where the female version would be Josefa or Josefina. In conclusion, names need to be added for specific searches under origins; and more importantly, organization and accuracy need to be improved for your app to be as helpful as it is advertised.

It’s fun and cool😄. Hello! This is my step-by-step review. Sometimes I’m bored and just want something to do. And this app is entertaining. First of all, I don’t see anything wrong with it! These are the EXACT steps when I open it. I search a name. A ad comes up. I click the x button and it takes me to the search I wanted. There is NO constant ads, no glitches or crashes. It think the other reviews are the problem with the device. I like this app because: it gives good information about the names,:it is very EASY to use!! And I understand if the app has ads. So, overall. This app is fun, cool, and I recommend it😊!!!

Easy to use, lots of names. So far the best baby name app I’ve found, easy to navigate and plenty of info. 5⭐️ if they can get lists based on popular names from a certain year. Great app! Edit: they do have that option, so 5⭐️ now!

Years gone by names. I really enjoy looking up the most popular names from the years of my late grandparents births and other family members.

Really cool app. This is my wife and my first child and have been having a hard time finding a name for our boy. This app has helped thus far.

Why no update since 2019?. Supposedly there was an update, but for the past couple years there have been no notifications or options to update the app with 2020 baby names. What’s up? We’re two months into 2021 I deleted the app and downloaded it all again (lost my names so I’ll be searching for those again), and there’s still an issue. Also there’s inconsistency on providing pronunciations for all the names. That needs to be better managed. It’s a decent app — and seems better than others — but I would just go online and write down names you like, researching names and pronunciations for true accuracy.

App does what it says. The app has had an extensive- and diverse-enough selection for my naming uses for the past 4 or so years. It’s never crashed, it’s not that hard to figure out how to use it, and personally, I don’t mind the ads. Thumbs up from this user.

Loved it!!. Love it!! In one of the previous versions you could not search for the meaning of names so I said so in a review and by the end of the week they had fixed it. LOVE the app and LOVE the costumer services!!!

So Ukrainian names don’t exist?. This app actually works for more than its intended purpose and I probably should find a different app that’s similar, but for what I’m actually using it for, but it’s kind of disappointing that I can’t find any names that are Ukrainian, I know, “disappointed in an app for not having names from one region? Seriously?” but an app like this one should have names from everywhere and I do mean everywhere.

Okay. It’s an okay app. I used to have it a few years ago and back then it had more of a community/social feature and the ability to create polls where people could vote on their favorite names. I thought that was really cool and wish they’d bring that back. It’s okay as it is now though.

Good app!👍. This app has given me so many names to choose from! I’m getting a baby sibling soon and I have finally after five months narrowed it down to the one I like. I have told my parents and said it was a great name and they will think about it! Good app overall!!

Easy and fun. I like all the different and convenient ways you can use this app to search for a name and meaning. When choosing a name it can definitely be overwhelming so being able to break things down and sort through by preference means making it easier onus to choose the perfect name.

Interface not the most user-friendly. Fun place to get name ideas, but it doesn’t have a user-friendly interface. My biggest confusion comes from the “you might also like” suggestions which usually have nothing to do with the name currently on the screen. Also, many names don’t have the meaning, which is the main reason I have for looking names up. Note that there are also lots of full-screen (not just in-line) ads that you have to wait to click out of, which is also quite annoying. Fun app if you have the patience for ads and having to look up name meanings elsewhere.

Where do they get their data?. I’m just curious where they are getting their information on how many babies were given the certain names each year?

Good app. I really like this app for browsing and choosing baby names! Suggestion: an option to make multiple lists in addition to starting names as favorites.

Great App!. The only star it's missing is when you add a name, you can't add the origin and other details. Other than that I'd love to be able to have a few different middle names (certain first names go better with a different middle name). Besides those two items this is my favorite baby name app, and I've had quite a few! Love the origin organization, and pronunciation guide!

Quick review: Love it, one suggestion!. Hello there! I’ve found your app very helpful and enjoyable in naming fictional characters in my stories. The only thing I think it needs is a better way to organize the names you’ve picked as your favorites. You’re able to move and shift the place of the names in your list, but I’d rather have the app just give options on how to organize them automatically: alphabetical, newest to oldest and vise versa. Having to manually organize the names in your favorites list is rather time consuming, and since I can barely remember yesterday (thus don’t operate on the newest to oldest mode), I prefer to have the names in the list organized alphabetically so it’s easier to locate what I’m looking for. Making that a default feature in the app would be very helpful and welcomed to me and maybe some other people who are like me. Thank you for making the app, as I said it’s very helpful and fun, and I hope this review is helpful for you guys as the developers for future updates (I’d prefer this feature to be free though since it’s rather small and not something I’d really want to pay money for). Favorite name app!. I recommend this app to everyone whenever I hear them taking about names. I am an author and I love the different categories that this app provides as well as being able to search by letter, origin, or meaning because sometimes a character just *feels* like a T name. I was a little disappointed when they added advertisements, but they are not too annoying and I definitely understand. I love being able to favorite an unlimited amount of names and look back on them. Perfection!!

The upgrade itself is a fair price. To the App Provider: Could you please add a Portuguese/Brazilian names group please.

Forget the books. As new parents, we found it hard to find names we both like. This app has now made our job easy with heaps of names to choose from. Better than any book.

Things I like about the app - Having the top 2000 - Names categorised into origin - Very simple - Very compatible - Love the popularity stats Things that could be better - Great inspiration lists, but maybe more could be better, or we could make our own as well - Maybe better filter searching - The meanings aren't very reliable (Getting users to edit the info is a really bad idea. People have their own ways of organisation, and it all gets super messy. Maybe just try using one system. An example is "Cassandra-Abigail".) - The twin names is the most useless feature

App Not Working. This app no longer works. It crashes as soon as I attempt to open it and therefore I have lost all the names saved in my favourites. I have been unable to find another way to contact the developer to seek a resolution

Great app! But ........ Hi I had been so happy at this app but I really get annoyed at the search page because you have to scroll down to find but great app! But the prob is that it say for *****(my name) it says how much was born in (any year) but it doesn’t have the year I was born in and I searched my name up! It’s wrong it would be better if you tell how much in REAL because I searched up my name and it doesn’t even say one ***** was born in my birth year!

Great app. Great app but it would be a lot better if you could choose a different middle name for each child, also if the app could specify if the names were for twins or not, also when you are creating your own name you could type in the origin because otherwise the name looks incomplete and it would be great if you could search the popularity of twin names. Other than these the app is awesome!!!!!! Great job!!

Spelling, please!. Yes this app has loads of names. But do many are simply variations of an original, which is not traceable. So when you find "Shereece" as a French name for example, know that it should be "Cerise" which is French for cherry but not a name. And there are 31 'alternative' spellings of this 'name'. There are too many examples of this with other names is this app. Sorry, just made me really angry. I'd like to choose a name based on correct spelling and meaning. Better to have THE name, and alternative spelling options (if you must) inside the listing of that name.

Review. A lot of names, category’s and popularity statistics.

90% of Italian names are incorrect/don't exist!. I love the app, so many names and interesting categories... Just don't go into the Italian list as you're going to end up with a name that it may sound good but it doesn't actually exist!!!!! Being 100% Italian, I know what I'm talking about! I don't know who put together that list but it's horribly wrong and needs sorting out ASAP!!

Great App… But the Ads. A lot of great features! Extensive range of names, love how long the top names list is (longest I have seen on an app so far) and very easy to use. However the ads are frustrating - especially when they’re in another language and I have to guess which button is the one to close the ad! I don’t mind ads for an otherwise free product (developers have to eat too) but closing an ad I can’t even read every second name I click on is very frustrating.

Years. They used to have top 1000 names starting from 1880 and now it’s just the currently top 2000 popular. I liked the old way :/.

Unfortunately the best there is. Not enough search options, would be good to be able to search/browse different name categories like old names, cool names, modern names, ect. stupid things like ads and rate me notices keep popping up. can't seem to browse first and last names separately. I know some last names work as first names but a lot don't . I mean Macfarlane,Macfie really?

Unknown meanings are frustrating. This app says that many of its names have “unknown meanings”, which is not the case as some have well known meanings and are not listed in the app. That was a real disappointment. I also didn’t appreciate how there were no Ukrainian or Polish names, only Russian. More content needed.

Used to be 5-star. I used to love this app. I paid for the upgrade about 2 months ago and I loved it. But then I accidentally deleted the app, so I redownloaded it. I thought that the upgrade would still be their, or they would renew it, since I already paid for it. When it downloaded it wasn't there! Now I have to pay 2 dollars again. 1 star!

Just ok. Not impressed with the fact I had to buy the full app before I could see meanings.

Horrible. I tried to use this and when I wanted to find meanings it wanted a "Premium upgrade" so I did. Then the next time I went to use it it asked for another "Premium Upgrade" even though I already paid. This app is a total rip off. There are MUCH better ones, don't get sucked in, don't pay!!!!

A lot of name origins plainly wrong. Renske is listed as a Danish name? It’s the Friesian version of a Germanic name...Friesian is a language spoken in the Netherlands (so, origin: Dutch). Similarly, Vibeke is not Dutch, but Danish. I keep finding examples like this, which is really annoying if you want to find a nice name AND some (correct) info on the origins of the name. Is it really that hard to have someone on your team to validate the data you’re scraping from the net? Deleting the app, because it’s no use to me.

Honest Review. I like this app for a few reasons: 1. It’s free 2. It has different categories 3. It has a decent selection I do however wish there was more selection. I would prefer to pay some money for unique names as opposed to the way this app currently is. I find that you can go on Google and find the same names and categories there without having to download an app.

Love the app!. The only downside is that I can’t add the same name to both the boy and girl lists.

Lots of names but need a bookmark. There are so many names to go through (of course)...it would be nice to be able to bookmark the last place I left off reading on my list so it's easier to come back to.

So many names!. We have loved using this app to find the meaning and origin of names we love and marking them to recall later!

Accurate name meanings. Accurate name meanings but the list doesn’t seem to be updated since 2012, so a lot of names are missing

App keeps crashing. This would have been a 5 star for me but lately the app has been crashing non stop and I don’t have access to my saved names anymore. I wish I had kept a back up list and am scared to delete the app and redownload in case they all delete/disappear

This app is great. The only complaint is that I️t doesn’t have last names. Other than I️t seems to have all the bases covered.

Ads Ruin it.. App has pop-up adds that disrupt browsing every 5 seconds. Some of the ads you can’t hijack your device and you can’t close out of them. I also favorited several names but they don’t seem to be displaying in the favorites section. Not worth the time and frustration.

Cool app. Liked how they had the names grouped into different categories. Took away 1 star because under the name Earnest and sub category of notable Earnests they did not include Earnest P. Worrell.

Good. Appreciate that it’s free. As a Spanish speaker some of the meanings seem a little off. It fulfills all the basic requirements of a name app though- can filter by letter, origin, and more, and make a list.

Great overall. Easy to use. Great subcategories for finding names. I couldn’t find a way to collaborate live with my spouse on names, something that feels like it should be standard.

Best I've found. I like the ability to see names with my last name, to see how they look.

Annoying ads and lack of names. Literally one minute into using this app and I got two pop up ads that were impossible to close without restarting the app. And then I did a couple basic searches for less common names (think #5000 in popularity). All searches returned with no data. Super unimpressed and deleted the app already.

What I was afraid of!. I’ve been saving baby names for YEARS on here and I knew just knew I should have screen shot my selections before the update and LO AND BEHOLD it’s a blank screen now with no app and I can’t access anything!!!!!! Also no way to contact support. DO NOT DOWNLOAD!!!!!

So fun!. My husband and I are loving this! Not only fun, but we have come across some names we hadn’t thought of before.

Can’t even open app - just crashes. Reviews should be in date order. I wouldn’t have even downloaded if I had seen the recent reviews warning me against constant crashing ….. AND PORN ADS??????? Glad it never opened. No thanks.👎 0 stars should also be an option. Or negative stars…

Baby Names app. This is a very helpful app and is much more efficient than loads of books.

Great Name Generator.. It’s a quick, comprehensive, free name generator. I’m a writer and its really great for when I need a quick name for a character or prompt.

Kept Crashing. I downloaded this because of the good reviews but after giving it a try, I would say don’t even bother. I tried to open the app many times on multiple different occasions and it always crashes. It has literally never worked, so I deleted it.

Phonetic Spelling Needed. The app is fun, but it is less helpful when information about how to pronounce each name properly is lacking.

Just started crashing, now unopenable. This app was great, but it just started crashing every time I try to open it. My baby will be born any day now — not a good time to be unable to access my favorites list and the other info in the app. Please fix ASAP!

Great! But…. It’s a great app but…. I have found out that I have a name that is like insanely rare. And it’s not on here, it’s great but could you do your research a bit better? (Also I searched it, and everything it’s just not there.)

Love it but…. I’m an author and I LOVE this app. My only wish is that there could be folders that you can organize names into. Otherwise, the app is perfect.

Great for Sims and Stories. I use this regularly to come up with interesting names for my characters.

Where do they get their stats?. Where are they getting this information from? My daughters name has no one being born since 1908 and she was born in 2016. Other than this it’s a great app lots of different names to choose from.

LOVE!!!. Amazing app, using it as we speak for naming my first baby girl . I love the status and popularity of each name, it's been very crucial to picking out our baby's name.

Wrong meanings. It didn’t take long looking through some of the names on here to figure out their meanings were all wrong! For example, Anna does not mean Arthur’s Sister! It means Graceful or God Has Chosen Me. I’m not really sure where they’re getting their meanings but if that means a lot to you when choosing a baby name, don’t trust this app.

Too slow. we get tired of using the app because it’s too slow and not in any kind of order. Needs more filters for example we would like to search for a unique (not too 100) boy name with a meaning of strong, brave, happy or blessed... no way to apply filters on this app.

Great, but I have a suggestion. Great app for writers who are searching for names for their characters. Though it would be great if you guys include variations of names as well.

First place I go for names. Good for finding the perfect character name, finding name meanings, and a great asset if you have a baby on the way! Enjoy the names.

Good app to browse and favorite names. Clean, concise app with trending data and meanings. Minimal ads. I wish they had some more “Idea” lists but I appreciate that they include names from other cultures and countries.

App deleted all favorite baby names. My boyfriend and I went through thousands of baby names and picked out a ton of girl and boy names, which did save in the favorites. I return to recheck the list and it has cleared. We were trying to choose baby names out of this list so I’m horrified that I trusted this app and not a piece of paper. -.-
