I use this mostly for weight tracking and it does that extremely well - much nicer interface than other apps I've tried. I have looked at many of its features and functions and while I don't need them they look like they are very well implemented. This is definitely worth considering.
Tried fitness pal for awhile because my boyfriend loves it, but I went back to mynetdiary. Easier to use, simpler interface an quicker food search & entry. Overall great tool for tracking eating habits and calories.
Listing of foods/dishes could be improved significantly if they were listed by keyword or alphabetically. That way similar dishes would be shown together. Usefulness could be further improved if a caloric measure was also reported in the listing in the mobile application. Utility of charts would be increased if a horizontal line indicating average was drown each where appropriate. Little or no quality control on food entries. Thus the same dishes often show up with wildly different # of calories. Charts are difficult to read as the mobile application shows everything from only a vertical position and not a horizontal one. Company doesn't respond to suggestions like the above. One wonders if they are read. They certainly dont appear to act on them. THE THINGS WHICH NEEDED TO IMPROVE WHEN I FIRST WROTE ABOUT THEM STILL NEED TO BE IMPROVED. ADDITIONALLY 1. The new automatic exercise tracking is klutzy and difficult to control 2. Charting capability is inadequate and poorly designed. 3. Presentation of menu items is without rhyme or reason. I WILL UPDATE THIS IF COMPANY HAS RESPONDED
A wonderful, accurate tool.
10/2017 Update ... the companion app of My Net Diary Running needs to be updated to iOS !!!! It was a value added app to the Diary app. Without the Running app I will have to really consider if I should maintain my ‘Pro’ upgrade when it comes due I love this app for journaling my food but this last upgrade has made it more difficult to do. Agree with other reviews about needing the ability to change portions. Bring back ability to swipe left on a meal page to get list of previous meals to use for copying. This was much more efficient than the way you have to do it now. Plus I have end up copying to the wrong day. Also the favorites lists are not as intuitive as they had been. I have been using this app for over two two years but this most recent upgrade has me thinking about looking for another app.
Have used for several years... is great all around and VERY customizable
This ap is great! It counts everything! I use it every day as I try to put on lean mass. Buy it today! You won't regret it!
I used the Diabetes App until iPhone no longer supported it. Reluctantly, I tried apps to manage carbs etc for diabetes. This is the best I found. Now I have worked with it I find it much easier to use than Diabetes Ap. The list of foods is extensive. The only thing I needed to enter was personal recipes. It is Sooo much easier to enter and find when you need it.
Update: After using this app for over seven years, I can honestly say it's the best out there. I have tried other brands with less success. I always do my best to maintain my goals when I am tracking my intake and MyNetDiary has been an amazing tool for that. After three kids it can be a little more difficult to stay focused and make healthy decisions---and snack less! But using this app helps me to be honest and work my butt even harder when I get off track. My favorite tools are the charts to see where exactly I am going wrong and the "copy from recents" feature. I am a creature of habit so I love being able to quickly copy meals, add recipes, and get accurate information. Old review from six years ago: I love this app! It has been better than the other two dozen I have downloaded, including weight watchers. You can find about anything in the search, even recipes from your favorite cook books, like Hungry Girl. I have been using this app for a few months and already reached my weight goal; however I still use the application to have success in maintaining my current weight!!!
I was expecting to link my Fitbit to this app and apparently along with the 3.99 I had to pay for the app they want more money to connect the two even though it shows up in the app screenshot. Rubbish
Best way to get focused on a diet is to use my net diary
This App is easy to use; is a good calorie or kilojoules counter and has an excellent data base which is easy to add your own recipes or foods to. You can easily track your weight, exercise, water intake and nutritional profile as well.
I have used this app several times as I don't always manage to keep the weight off and when I hit my unacceptable weight limit again I re start and get the weight I need off easily every time. Each time I last longer as I have learned good habits. Love the charts, love the bar code for food, love seeing better alternatives and love adding in exercise to allow me more food! I've told so many friends about this app, it's all I need and works every time.
Easy to use and link to my IPhone and Apple Watch for step counts and distance walked
An excellent method of checking weight loss. User friendly. Comprehensive details.
I love this app. It's easy to use and keeps me on track 😁
August 2017 update, still the best app, and I now also use it to track my fasting mimicking diet FMD (Dr Valtor Longo) I just adjust the fat/carb ranges temporarily for the 5 day fast, works a treat 😊 Great app, works really well. Best food/exercise diary I have tried. Very good range of food items as well. Metric functionality is not quite finished throughout app but developer has said they are working on this, not a real issue just inconvenient sometimes. I have lost 4kg since I purchased app & on track to lose remaining 4kg. Happy customer :-)
Excellent -It is one of the best overall calorie counter I've used - good food data base plus much easy functionality including adding nutritional information for you via taking a photo for foods that are not in the data base. Works great with Apple Health syncing exercise, steps, calories, weight etc. Even has an Apple Watch app! More privacy settings than other calorie counters, information is certified encrypted on their servers thats important to me. Responsive support and great timely updates. More accurate breakdown of nutrition and vitamins and health breakdowns that Mynetdiary offers is absolutely worth it for me. I'm thoroughly impressed and have been for the long time I've been using it now to help get to and maintain my weight goals.
I love this app, I have been using it to cut weight for a tournament in 2 weeks.
Easy to use and terrifically effective
The app itself is good - not too much different than MyFitnessPal- and was my preferred app for awhile. However when they went to the subscription, after already having been a Pro member, the parts I had liked were now $9 a month. Wasn't worth it when other apps give you the same features for free. It gets two stars because the watered down version is annoying and that Pro members weren't grandfathered in.
Helps easily keep track of what you've eaten
All the bells and whistles!! This app has EVERYTHING!!!!
I use this app every single day
The only app I could find that tracks (and syncs to Apple Health) total fat, saturated fat, trans fat, polyunsaturated fat, monounsaturated fat, cholesterol, sodium, total carbs, fiber, sugar, sugar alcohols, protein, caffeine, vitamin a, vitamin C, vitamin D, vitamin D, vitamin K, thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B6, folate, vitamin B12, pantothenic acid, calcium, iron, potassium, phosphorus, magnesium, zinc, selenium, copper, manganese. I wish it also tracked biotin and chromium, but that's my only quibble!
Fantastic for tracking calories, macros, workouts and measurements! Integrates with Apple Health app too.
It is super easy to use with Ny type of diet plan that you are using. The food selections are easy and I have not found any food no in their app!
I'm doing a low-carb program and I find this app really helps keep me focused. When I'm not using the app, I try and pay attention however I'm not really clear about how many carbs I'm eating .
Works ok but the took away my original privilege to some of the options I originally had and want to charge a subscription fee. Not right!!!!
Excellent app for tracking your food intake/nutrients plus your daily physical activities. Make it a habit!
