Can’t listen to the old shows. Love this podcast and the host. I have to find it elsewhere though because this app crashes every time I open it; who do I contact?

Great app!. This app has so many features and options to make the user’s experience totally customizable. It is amazing and I am so glad I got it.

Long time listener. Adam's knowledge of OTR is very impressive, and the nuggets of information he shares adds to the fun. I started listening around episode 700, and started from the beginning after getting the app. Being all caught up now (with a break to listen to all of The War; also great), it's interesting to hear how the program has changed over time. I love all the shows to one degree or another, with a special spot in my heart for Philip Marlow; if I'm ever in a jam, I want that tough but tender guy on my side. Thank's Adam for all you do. Can I put one vote in for a Green Llama episode? I heard an ad on a show once and thought "That I've gotta hear.... ". I'm imagining a combination of The Green Hornet and Mr. Mojo; how far off base am I? Thanks again. Nancy in the Chicago area.

great features, no ads!!. its the perfect app for when you wanna sleep to some old detective shows!! practically no ads and it plays while the screen is locked and it keeps playing the shows one after the other so i dont have to keep hitting play! absolutely love it pls dont change these features! much love adam!

Bad Update. The app won't work since the update on 3/17. Another update this morning, 3/20 via iTunes, did not correct the problem. The app generally works very well, the programs are entertaining and the hosts comments, opinions and trivia about each episode seperate Great Detectives from every other OTR podcast I've tried. 3/27 update - I deleted and reinstalled the app on my iPhone via iTunes. Back in business.

Great entertainment and good presentation. I have listened to these programs since the beginning. Adam does a great job with background and commentary. Enjoy all the detectives but especially Johnny Dollar and Dragnet.

Making my world a better place!. This podcast provides an opportunity for us to glimpse the world as it was in the past through the eyes of the writers and the performances of the actors. The theater of the mind will never be rivaled by video presentations of someone else’s vision. Adam’s excellent commentary only serves to enhance an already pleasurable experience. Great programming. I love OTR and this app presents so many wonderful shows, many I’d never heard before. The host also has great information on many of the shows and actors.

Great. Adam Graham and Great Detectives of OTR is one of the better OTR presentations. This app is a step up from the basic podcast. It retains the values of six different shows a week, playing all available episodes of a series - beginning to end, Adam's intelligent presentation of his research but with the addition of app only bonus shows and the ability to personalize your experience with lists such as favorites, audio, video.

Very nice app, great shows. Really enjoyable shows in an easy-to-use app. It has all of the features that one needs and none of the silly bells and whistle‘s that one doesn’t. Background info adds to the enjoyment.

Old Time Radio / Great Detectives. I was born in 1958 my father although having a television repair business loved radio and the old shows we had a ham set and my father had numerous old radios from the 30s and 40s I grew to love these old shows my father bought a lot of them through the Reader's Digest program so I was exposed to these at a young age, I am so glad that you are doing this with these old detective shows I find this very enjoyable it brings me peace reminds me of years gone buy . XM also has a station dedicated to old radio shows and there is a station in Hamilton Ontario that plays them but I really like what you are doing Adam and the personal touch you give it thanks again .

A Blast From The Past. Adam Graham is what makes this whole thing a real treat to listen to. His knowledge and insight into the world of the vintage gum shoe is AMAZING. His commentary helps me to get a clear picture of what the world was like when radio was what television is today. Being a baby boomer I sort of remember some of this stuff ( or is that thanks to Adam I think I do?). It’s enjoyable, it’s entertaining and it’s nostalgic.

A Wonderful Window Into the Past. This app has an incredible amount of content. I appreciate the synopsis and commentary that goes into each episode. It is evident that a lot of work and dedication goes into having this available.

Great OTR programming. Adam does an absolutely wonderful job with this podcast/app. The original OTR programs could stand on their own, the the added commentary from the host sets the tone, provides valuables background info on the programs, the performers and the times these programs were aired.

Great content. App is horrendous.. I’ll give you five stars all day long for your content. You have a terrific knowledge of OTR to boot! But man...that app. No way to search through the couple thousand episodes. Oooff. That’s rough. But, 2 bucks for access to a lot of great episodes? I’ll fight through it if I need to. Sometimes my other sources don’t have something I want to listen to so I’ll open your app. I’d probably use your app as my primary source is it weren’t so hard to find a specific show. Anyway, enough rambling. Thanks for keeping OTR alive and well.

Great content but flawed app. Version 2.5.7 removed useful controls to step forward or back 30 seconds. The layout of the ui continues to get more cluttered and just plain ugly. Adam! Hire new developers before they kill your show! Five stars for content but one star for the app. I love the podcast but the app has serious flaws. There is no way to filter content or hide listened-to content, which wasn't much of a problem when the program list was under 1000. Now, with over 2000 podcasts, scrolling to the middle of the playlist is frustratingly tedious.

Best Podcast Ever!. The GTOTR is by far and away my most heavily used app and my favorite audio entertainment in any form. Great variety, wonderful audio quality and organized for any taste. Adam is an amazing host and his knowledge is immense. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Content Great HORRIBLE app. Ever since the latest update, this app crashes every two seconds. When it does not crash it is impossible to download an episode. If all these latest update to the app actually worked, then everything would be amazing! But, the app rarely works without me having to threaten it.

The BEST Detective Radio Show Ever. This is hands down the best old time detective radio shoe out there. I listen to it every night. He really knows his stuff too.

Fantastic. There is great depth and a wealth of information on the detective genre here.

Extensive Collection of OTR. This app provides an extensive selection of broadcasts of old time radio detective classics. Unfortunately the catalog contains both the best and the worst of the genre. The host Adam provides commentary before and after each episode. This is the most used app on my iPhone.

Disappointed. I'm still not sure I understand how this app works. Wrote the " contact" and received zippo response. About ready to delete it and move on.

Old radio detectives. This among others is slow to update their apps when the iPhone updates I wish it could be faster but is a great app because of the information dispersed thanks the mc could be better but then I am from New England and he is from the south

Padoh. This is my most used app. Use it everyday for at least an hour. Content is great and a good break when I'm on the road. The app is good. There might be improvements possible to streamline access to the over 2000 shows. Thanks Adam

Old time radio. This the best app out there for old time radios. I truly enjoy listening too all the shows. You can pick and choose your favorite shows. Also fantastic quality.

This is Great escape programming. I love finishing my long day by getting under the covers and listening to these highly entertaining shows & I’m only in my early 50s !! Old time, 20th century radio detective shows are the 21st century bomb !!!!

Love the app. Love the app as I can search for certain detectives depending on my mood. I keep hearing adverts for the amazing world of radio but cannot find the app, only the podcasts. It makes me sad. Love Philip Marlowe, Johnny Dollar and Pat Novak the best. Lux radio is a treat.

OTR Great Detectives. This is a fantastic podcast for those of us who enjoy old time radio detective shows. There is a wide variety of detective shows and the number of episodes exceeds two thousand. Johnny Dollar, Dragnet, Box 13, Richard Diamond are just a few to name. The host, Adam Graham provides interesting points at the beginning and end of each episode. I listen to an episode everyday, but when I have to make my periodic four hour road trip I enjoy listening to eight (30 minute) episodes sequentially. I am glad someone is taking the time to restore and preserve these treasures of American entertainment history.

Love the show, hate the update. This last (completely unnecessary) update is terrible. As I write this, it is apparently downloading all 2500+ episodes into my iPod. The new layout is clunky and the skip ahead/skip back buttons have vanished. Why is this happening?

Shows are amazing. This is just a wonderful application to have and enjoy! Great writing and acting! It gives me a needed break from info overload!

Fantastic Podcast. While you do not need this app to enjoy the podcast which is available through iTunes for free, it does everything it claims and is worthwhile buying if you enjoy the series. Listen to an episode first and if you enjoy the hosting introduction with feedback and style of the detective serial broadcasts (with inclusion of original advertisements), then pay the small fee to add to your audio convenience and to support the show.

Love this App... A must have for OTR fans. I love this app, the ability to download, search and mark favourites is good. However the best thing about it is the content. Adam is a great host and he makes an effort to get the best quality old time radio detective shows. I really like how he plays the episodes in their original order and provides unique insight into the characters, writers and content of each episode. If you like old time radio detective shows this is the app to have.

Great show and a handy app. I love this podcast; Adam's commentary is interesting and makes the listener appreciate the otr shows even more. This app is a handy way to make sure u don't miss an episode and the app's special extra shows are always appreciated. My only wish is that there was next/back button to move between episodes. Also, since the latest update it takes 30-45 seconds to load the app (unlike just a few seconds prior to the update). Overall, it a fantastic show and a good app.

Three steps backwards.... While the podcast itself is fantastic, the latest version of this app is unusable. For some reason, Sherlock Holmes episodes appear to be the hardest hit: they'll play for about 5 minutes, and then just stop playing. Save your money until the app is fixed...

Best old time radio app. This app has everything, a variety of stories, good quality transmission, availability of past episodes, and an informative host. I love it!

The best old time radio App. I first found Adam and his podcast through the iTunes podcast app. I enjoyed listening to the daily detective shows and Adam's commentary but always felt like I was "late to the party" when he would mention past radio serials that he had played. Then during this past Listeners Support Campaign, Adam talked about his stand alone podcast app. I immediately loaded the App Store and bought it. Now I not only enjoy Adam's current line up of detective shows but I have been able to go back and listen to shows like Let George Do It, Candy Matson and Box 13(now the email address makes more sense) Keep up the great work Adam! Pretty buggy. WOW...unbelievable! You updated this app and now NONE of the Sherlock Holmes episodes will play! The stream just tries and tries to load. Other shows play but none of the Sherlock Holmes. I would give it 0 stars if I could! Useless app from terrible app developers! Terrible app. First thing I did was search for Sherlock Holmes and got a few episodes listed but when I search for just the word Sherlock I get hundreds of episodes listed. Terrible indexing. Then when I try to play episodes 0009 and 0014 of Sherlock Holmes it actually plays episodes of Johnny dollar. How many other shows are miss indexed? 2 more bugs: 1. If you listen to a show, for say 5 minutes, then select another show to listen to instead of the new show starting from the beginning it actually starts at the 5 minute mark, or whatever point you were at in the previous show. You have to manually restart the new show. 2. If you are listening to something else on your iPad in the background and you select a show from this app it tries to play but won't. You have to go back to the app playing in the background and shut it down first. ---------------- Many of the bugs have been fixed. The app seems to run much better now. Although the search function could still be better.

Show is great..app is poor. The podcast is one of the best... Unfortunately the app is very buggy, poorly thought out and the tech support consists of restart the app or reinstall the app. I would suggest accessing the podcast via iTunes until the app is improved.

Huge Improvement VS Using TuneIn to Access. Found this wonderful website through TuneIn app which accessed Adam's programs well enough but in comparison to this app is quite clunky... Not to mention all the unique enhancements this app provides --- kind of like difference between black&white and color : once you've experienced "color" - you'll never go back. Nice features, easy to use and audio quality of playback through app superior to TuneIn

Excellent source for OTR. The Great Detectives of Old Time Radio is the best source for detective shows Adam Graham is an excellent source for information about the shows, the featured series', the stars, the era, and OTR in general. He has a strict method for playing the shows which is a phenomenal source for following how programs and characters develop across their on air run. Great Detectives and Adam are essential listening for anyone interested in the field for research, general knowledge, or just plain enjoyment. The app simplifies the downloading and listening process. Get the app, download, and start listening and learning. Best bang for the buck

Outstanding. I have searched for old time radio with a lot of different options and I finally found it! These shows are perfect to listen to while I work out. Time goes by fast and I felt entertained throughout. I actually look forward to my workouts because of these shows... WELL WORTH THE MONEY!

Fun & Easy. Originally I was downloading these podcasts from the website to my computer, then using iTunes to copy them onto my iPod. This is far, far easier and I like the interface. I only want to listen to episodes of Johnny Dollar, so I go to the list of available podcasts and filter on "dollar," then tap on the ones to download (while on wifi). I then go to the tab of downloaded podcasts to listen to one after another while I'm walking the dogs or working in the yard. I haven't figured out a setting to automatically erase podcasts I've listened to, but that's a minor shortcoming.

Great app!. Love the app!!! Love it, love it, love it!!! I cannot say enough positives about this app. I use it almost every night to listen to the OTR detectives to go to sleep and help mask my tinnitus, then I wake up and listen to more as I go about my morning routine. Love the shows, love Adam's commentaries before and after. I began listening in 2009 shortly after he began. HE has came a long way. HE has matured into a fantastic broadcast journalist and taken this program to unimaginable heights.

Too Much Advertising. Got this app because I am a big fan of old time radio's detectives and mystery programs. Unfortunately one has to listen to ads for other apps and a travel agency. The app does not allow you to set up a playlist from the programs that are provided, so U can only hear one program at a time. In short, better off getting OTR off an Internet feed. Not worth the money or your time.

New to the podcast, great way to catch up. Loving all these old shows especially Box 13 and Johnny Dollar! The app works well and is easy to use. The intros are nice and informative. Really enjoying this purchase. Thank you!

Great app easily a favorite. Thanks for the quick update. Not only do I love this app for bedtime listening... But I feel good about purchasing apps created by people who read reviews and make sure all is well. Rare these days. Well worth the purchase. I was born well after the radio mystery era, but I am in love with all these shows... And there are so many that I actually have a schedule. Download option is great and I will be utilizing it when I fly to London next month. Thank you for a wonderful app.

Great content; user interface could use work. This app gives access to Adam Graham's Great Detectives of Old Time Radio podcast. I love the podcast. Graham plays the available episodes of many old time detective radio shows, in order from start to finish. Graham generally releases the podcast five or six nights per week, with each night associated with a different radio show. I especially enjoy when he provides commentary about the actors, production, historical context, etc. of the shows. I also enjoy that he reads listener comments on the show, which fosters a sense of community. The app makes it convenient to listen to the archives of the show, especially when listening to radio shows that had more episodes than fit on the regular podcast feed. I like to listen to the entire run of a radio show and then move on to the next, and the app makes it easier to do this. The app does have some user interface issues, which is why this is a four star review instead of a five. For example, when you go into an episode and hit play, then continue listening into another episode, the display does not update to show you are on a different episode. There are a number of small issues like this.

I love this. This is a great app, it has a lot of shows and a great variety. It is just great fun to listen to those radio shows. They are more entertaining than most of TV and some current internet programs. I have recommended this to several people who said "thanks, great variety of programs. Fun to listen too"

Where's the 6th star. I use this daily. Adam does an amazing job. Catching up with great crime radio programs just adds to my day. Highly recommended. While the podcast is available, this supports the hosts work and is far easier in my opinion.

Love the Radio Detectives. Being a baby boomer I got to enjoy a lot of really good detective shows back in the 50s and 60s. When I discovered the old-time radio detective shows on this channel I find I get to enjoy those same qualities of detective programs that I used to enjoy as a young girl. Johnny Dollar is my favorite but all the programs are terrific

Horrible!. The updated version has ruined this App. It has so many bugs that it's pretty much worthless now. It's a shame because it used to be user-friendly and the fine variety of episodes were a pleasure to listen to. Now it's not worth the effort to try to get it to work. I'm dumping it.

Love It. I really enjoy OTR, and this is loaded with great mysteries that are quite enjoyable. I like the fact that you have to pay attention and use your imagination --- something that as a nation we do not exercise much of. Take care....

Love it. Love the app and shows. So glad I am able to catch up on the years Of shows I missed. Wish I had discovered it sooner. I wish there was a way to listen to the shows from the first to the most recent though on continuous play without having to scroll through thousands of files. Or perhaps there is a way and I just haven't found it!! Love Adam's insights and commentaries!

Great Tech support! Great Program!. I've been using this app since it first came out several years ago. Adam is part of my day, every day. I love this show! Recently, the app stopped updating. I was surprised to see a tech support button, but I reported the problem & it was fixed w/in a few hours! Amazing!

GREAT DETECTIVES. What's not too like. This app is for anyone who likes a good detective show. Hundreds of podcasts available to download and listen to at your leisure. Commentary by host is full of interesting facts about the shows and puts some historical perspective to others.

Andibeàr. I use this app to listen to old time radio shows like The Great Detectives and I love it! Adams remarks about the shows always provide interesting background information Which in turn adds to listening enjoyment. It is my favorite app!

Support this app. This app makes listening to my favorite podcast even easier. Plus the purchase helps to support Adam who has been putting out these shows we love so much faithfully for years without much pay. I love going through each show in order and seeing how they progress. This app has also introduced me to new detectives and I have learned so much through his commentary.

Thanks.. Thanks so much for all of the detectives. Great to hear them in the order the shows were first broadcast (with a few warranted exceptions). If you know, your comments in each show could address how the actors connected with each other (easier on Dragnet certainly than on other shows), but also on how the show might or might not have connected with events and audiences back in the day. Jim Widner of Radio Detective Story Hour does an incredible job connecting shows into the genre of particular mystery authors and traditions. You don't need to repeat what is happening with that show. But, you extensive runs of shows allows you to feature a kind of socio-cultural commentary that is already present in your shows.

Great detectives. This is the best podcast and the best app. I listen everywhere. I even go to sleep with it a lot of times. I love that they play in chronological order when possible, and Adam's info is just the best. You learn a lot about the actors, the series and each podcast. Like I said, simply the best.

Excellent Old Time Radio Program. This podcast is the best for listening to the old time radio shows! Adam does an great job adding information about the cast, as well as the background on the various programs. If you like to listen old radio mysteries, this podcast is for you! You won't be disappointed!

Love it!. I love this app. The variety is great and Adam is insightful. Only minor issue was for a bit it randomly logged off, but reinstall fixed that. Johnny dollar is my current favorite, and I decided to listen from the start. Perfect for when I pull dish duty at work.

No bob bailey in Johnny dollar. I subscribed only for the great bob Bailey Johnny dollar shows and there’s nothing.

This App is well worth the money. I have had this app since it first hit the market. I have listened to every episode of The Great Detectives of Old Time Radio. I usually download the episodes through iTunes and use the app for the extras and to support Adam. It is very useful to retrieve some of the first shows.

App for one of the best Podcasts out there. This is the companion app to Adam Graham's daily podcast of old time radio detective programs. Adam has done a very nice job chronologically organizing the episodes, putting them into historic context, and adding background info. This podcast is obviously a labor of love and I'm happy to support his efforts by buying this app. Yes, it could be updated with more features, but it's a good start. Is he a polished broadcaster? Maybe not, but this is the most fun thing I listen to everyday. More strength to you Adam, and keep up the good work! You are keeping many of us entertained! Thank you!

Great Podcast. Adam selects the best old time radio detective shows. His commentary is informative and entertaining. The sound quality is the better than the other old time radio shows I have heard. I listen every day.

Superb!. After downloading this app, I had to listen to one of my favorites. I wasn't sure what was going on when it began with the commentary, but once that was over and the actual program began, I was hooked. Listening skills seem to be a lost art, so it was wonderful to sit back, envision the scenes, and enjoy the radio I grew up with. I was also delighted to find all of the previous telecasts at my disposal. I have programs and videos to last me a long time! Superb app! If I could rate this a ten, I would.

Feature I was looking for.. The latest update finally brings the feature I have been looking for. The ability to play episodes oldest to newest makes this app much more useful to me.

1 year review. I have had this app for over a year now and I continue to love it. I decided to start over from the beginning of the podcast about 6 months ago and was extremely happy to find that the app easily accommodated this wish. It was wonderful to not only discover new shows such as Box 13 and Pat Novak but hear the growth in Adam as a host. Keep up the great work Adam! Michele from Michigan

The cat's meow!!. I love this app. I have been listening via the podcast on iTunes for several months and finally decided to spring for the app. I am delighted with the functionality. As a 30-something mom of 3, I am increasingly dissatisfied with the entertainment options coming out of Hollywood. Old time radio is a great option for my family. The host is very enthusiastic and shows his genuine enjoyment in bringing to life these would-be-forgotten classics of radio's golden age!! I love Let George Do It. The Line Up is my least favorite as it seems confusing and rambling and has little similarity to today's line ups we see portrayed on tv.

The BEST way to hear those wonderful classic detective radio shows!. Easy to navigate from oldest to newest or newest to oldest. You can stream OR download episodes for off-line listening. Keeps track of favorites and played vs unplayed. Even allows you to share episodes with friends. You also learn the background on these shows through Adam's interesting commentary. If you are an old-time radio junkie, you need this app.

Great Detectives is great!. As a cranky old broad, I have ninety or so apps to forestall dementia by exercising my brain. The one I always go to for enjoyment, relaxation yet stimulation, is Great Detectives. The narrator Adam...something...is quite interesting and what a soothing but intelligent broadcasters voice. The site is easily navigated, the programs are well chosen and my favorites are always in there somewhere. Kudos to you! The adjective "great" is as suitable for the app as it is for the detectives.

The Best. I have only just downloaded this app about a month ago and am totally hooked. I love the details that are given before and after each program and really like the mix. You have done a great job.

A wonderful pass time. I've been using this app for little over year now. I have found it to be quite entertaining. The commentary on the shows is quite informative. In addition to the golden age radio programs, I also enjoy the video episodes that are occasionally posted. If you have any interest in OldTimeRadio I would highly recommend this app to you.

Great Ap/Show/Host. Great ap! I love old time radio detective shows, and Adam's hosting is a perfect compliment to them. Not many of my friends of people I associate with like old time radio like I do. Adam almost makes me feel like I have a buddy to talk about them with.

Long time listener. This is still one of my favorite and most utilized apps. However the update has detracted from ease of use. I hope that once I become more familiar with its use that will improve. I wish one could go back to the pre update app. My comments before the update: I began listening with Adam before he started this app. I have other Otr apps but there's something about this quirky guy that keeps me coming back . Thanks Adam. You have enhanced the pleasure of OTR.

Best Old Time Radio podcast, good app. I've been listening to Adam's podcast for about six months using Stitcher. It's the best OTR podcast. I recently downloaded this app to start way back at the beginning and listen to stuff Adam put out five years ago. My current favorite show is "Box 13." App works great, enjoy it!

Great app. Good selection of great detectives from when radio was it's best and your imagination could put you in the adventure. Look forward to more episodes!
