Good app without sound. I like the app the musical notes are correct. But many of the audio files play the music wrong. Get new audio set to a metronome.. Decent app.

Really?. I can not believe I just paid for this! Where are the odd time signatures? How do you not have 5/8, 7/8, 11/4, 9/8???? I think this program is amazing but doesn't live up to the price tag.

Yes! Yes! Yes!!. For all of you that started playing drums....Self taught.......learned by ear. Yes you are great but think of how greater you can be if you pick up these little things that you never knew, mastered them and applied them to your style. Yes, It's all here, And I'm sure updates will be added in the future. I Like It.

Yes. I'm a middle school band director with a jazz band (occasionally two). My students use two electric kits with headphones to practice on. When they are ready to join the band I let them play the acoustic set. I've always taught drummers through grooves and fills. This app is awesome for a young player! It has a variety of styles. I just want MORE grooves. There's 2-5 for each style. For example, a young player needs to learn coordination on 8th note rock grooves. There's only 5 grooves for this offered. I would love to see 40+ in additive combinations with syncopated, then dotted quarter. And if you add 1,2, and 3 bar fills I will be VERY grateful :)

Fantastic. Excellent drum app! Excellent for learning and practicing. My only request: would you make a feature which sorts all beats and rudiments by time practiced? Most to least, and least to most? And then add a feature which allows the user to click on the beat or rudiment and go directly to practice! Also, would be helpful to show an average/ history of bpm practices so the user can log his or her progress! Overall 10/10 fantastic app!!!

Crashes at Startup. New version crashes on startup. Tried hard reset and redownload. No go. Please fix. Original iPhone 3.1.3 Great app and thanks for the updates and support for old iOS. Update: WOW! Developer fixed this. And quickly. Nice update. For those that don't give 5 stars to this great app- look for what it is (great reference, example beats), not for what it doesn't have (tempo control). Thank you for the fix.

I agree. With most of the other comments on the improvement and updates this app needs. And whnever that happens....definitly an amazing app! Tempo control is a definite must for the next update. (too slow for me haha) other than that great work!

Bad uneven examples. The single stroke roll reminded me of someone starting a car and not getting fuel, it is uneven with extra hit, sort of flam, accents. I didn't take enough time evaluating the free version.

Awesome app for serious drummers. Anyone who wants to learn the fundamentals of drumming and do more than just "hit things with sticks" should buy this app. Great tool for students just learning to play and read rhythms or anyone wanting the information to hone thier skills. The audio makes it easy to learn even if you can't read music yet. But if you can't read music, I suggest you start learning you lazy slacker. People aren't going to take you seriously.

Love the so far. I just downloaded the app. So far I love it, great app to learn new beats and track your practice time. One thing I would love to see would be the ability to export my lists. Being a drum teacher I would love to be able to email my students the notation of the beats we practice during the lessons.

Great for drummers of any level!. I really like this app. It has helped me learn my rudiments. Keep us updated with new material! It would be great if there were more complicated beats and some way to create custom practice schedules. Great app! KEEP THIS APP UPDATED WITH NEW MATERIAL!

Great app. I rated this app a 5 because not only did the developer contact me in less than 24 hours, but the issue many are requesting- tempo adjustment- is being worked on as we speak & will be out with next update. There are other good apps out there as well, but adding tempo brings this up a level-it ahould be out with next update. As far as crashing, I have not had any problem with this. If you say you do, it must. I have found a reinstall will fix some issues. It also can be an ios issue or a carrier problem, i suggest contacting developer, if it is an issue, he may not be aware, but on my Apple 4s, with ios 6, it runs fine. thank you. This is a great app with a variety of patterns. What is missing, & very important to me, is the ability to increase or decrease tempo when listening to, or learning a rhythm. I am not great at reading & that's why slowing down would be so helpful. Is this possible, otherwise, everyone, it is a great app with many rhythms. Thank You

Fantastic App For Drummers. Even if you’ve been playing a long time like I have, this is still a great app for anyone! I was having some minor issues with my left hand and decided to get off the kit and work the rudiments for awhile. The audio alone is fantastic for strengthening your weak hand and gaining speed the right way! Highly recommended!👍🏻👍🏻

So much potential!. This app is fantastic. Everything I expected, plus a little more. I just ask that in a future update, that you add a scroller that tells what note I am hearing while listening. Similar to playing rock band, persay. Other than that, more beats, tempo, and odd time signitures, and you've got a 6 star app!!! Keep up the good work!

Good but could be great. Nice collection of beats. Great for practicing to to play along to. However, it won't keep playing in the background. You have to keep the app open. Just when I got the perfect time/beat for a tune, it just stops when I switch to OnSong to pull up the chart. Would be great if the app would keep playing in the background.

Love this app!. Thank you for making this app, this a'a fantastic app to practice rudiments and a good drum reference. One suggestion for future improvement could be the ability to sync your practice time between several devices ( I use it on an iPad and an iphone). But this is minor. This app is awesome!

Great resource. Fantastic resource for learning the basic beat of every style

App should stay open. This app would be wonderful if it didn't stop every time your phone goes to sleep; I need longer than a minute at a time to practice. Really simple to fix, guys. Also, a metronome that can accelerate and decelerate over a selection of durations is something I'd gladly pay an extra dollar for. But that's a want. I need the thing to stay on until I turn it off.

Great app. Awesome app needs updates. Needs to be able to change tempo. Other than that it helps a-lot at school and would recomend it to every drummer. Worth the money!

Great idea, but needs some work. I love the idea, however I noticed a couple problems: - Not all of the notation matches the beats that it provides. - You can't change the tempo, which is helpful for practice. - Being able to write And share beats would be useful. - There are a limited amount of variations to the genres of beats provided. Hopefully there will be updates. Thanks!

Drumming. I purchased this for some help w/ percussion drumming. The beats are ridiculously too fast to be of any help to a beginner. Perhaps, it was made for the more advanced, but then I ask, do they really need paradiddle spelled out?

Rally happy with this app. Really good tool to help focus practice time on the basic skills of rudiments, time signatures, and a large sample of different grooves. For these skills, this might be the only app you need to focus your practice time. As with so many things, get the basics down pat and other stuff will come a lot faster.

New opinion.... This is an okay app, as there aren't many rudiments or drum patterns. This is good for beginners, but more advanced drummers should check out Drum Library. It has more rudiments and drum patterns, and it's a dollar cheaper, too. Save your money!!!

So handy!. Efficient, valuable and attractive app. $3 is a good deal for the amount of content and the prospect of more. I'd love dearly for there to be notation editing capabilities to change, create and save your own interpretations and creations.

Great app for drummers!. This app is very handy to have on u for the different styles out there. Great for all level of drummers. It plays the beats for u if your having problems figuring them out. Just needs temple control and five stars!

Awesome but not enough. I love what you have here, it gave me the tools to finally get the bossa nova down, but there just aren't enough beats...

Still loving this app!. Not sure when the last build was created but it works well on my iPad that runs ios 16.3.1. Great refresher material for all drummers, with no subscription required. Strongly recommend it.

I love this app.. Great for, learning, warming up, and learning to read. The variable playback speeds are really putting my playing on the fast track thanks!

Great app. This is asome but it wuld be better if u guys put like how to read music on hear for like the pp that are starting off but beside that asome I love it

Good practice tool. The best part about this app is that the different beats are looped over and over again so that you can just play along with the beat on your kit and won't have to think about restarting any track on your device. It's simple and effective. Yes, all this information is floating around out there for free, but all of this compiled in one simple app makes it a great way to practice. If you are serious about cleaning up your playing and learning new rhythms from around the globe, this is a great way to get started. Nicely done.

Hidden gem for drummers!. I can’t believe this app doesn’t have a spot on the top apps list! The app is great for zoning in on your rudimentary drumming. If you’re playing the kit and you don't know your basic 26 rudiments YOU NEED THIS APP!! This app will teach you each rudiment through audio + visuals plus odd time signatures and multiple grooves from each genre of music! Excellent. Excellent drum app. Simple but enough to keep you going. The audio quality is very good so you can easily make out the beats or strokes in a rudiment. The explanations and hints for each rudiment/beat are clear and helpful. One day I'd like to see more odd time signatures in a future update eg 5/4. All in all, I definitely recommend this app.

Great at first glance... But. This app really needs the ability jto change tempo on samples. Also some more beat examples are needed to round off what is a somewhat limited selection. Lastly some fills would also be nice with notes x-referencing the best beat combos to get beginners and intermediate drummers off to a good start. Still the bones of this app are good, but it also has the potential to be awesome with well thought out updates!

Great app. Great app for beginners, perhaps include different types drum fills and an option to slow the tempo down on the drum beat playback. Good work and keep the updates coming.

Great app. A great resource for drummers, would be nice to have the next update include a setting for the rudiments to be played in both duple and triple pulse.

Damo's World. This app is definitely one of the best educational drum apps on the store. I will be using this often to brush up on my rudiments and various time signatures. I would dream to see an adjustable tempo controller. Other than that - very well designed. Look forward to the updates.

Needs more beats!. Great interface and very practical app. I can sit my iPhone on the floor Tom and play along. However I would love to see a tonne of new beats. At the moment there is not many at all besides the basic rudiments. The description says 'beats in a wide variety of styles' but there is only 1 funk beat and 1 r&b beat for example. There's a lot more rock beats, but most of them are as basic as they come! Needs to be some form of progression in difficulty espiecially for beginners, can't see this app being much help for experienced drummers. The ability to change the tempo would also be great but not necessary. Looking forward to some updates! Thanks for the app

This type of app is why I bought my iPad.. Like the title says - ever since I saw the iPad, having had an iPhone, I knew what program needed to be made to help me with my drumming. This app is excellent, not just good or great. I put my iPad up on the music stand, right in front of my vision, pick a beat or a rudiment, and just play to the beat. Suggestions: - I'm not sure (yet) if you can change the tempo of the included beats / rudiments, but I'm still playing around. - Longer beats and/or the ability to import beats (notation, tabs, etc). I cannot stress enough - this is an ---excellent--- app.

Needs a bit of an update. I love this app but it could be updated with more grooves, some sort of follow along thing lime kareokee, and some kind of user submit option would be cool.

Not worth the price. Changing tempo effects the sample audio quality a lot to the point that its better not to change tempo, not many beats available compare to the free version also you can't hear the metronome and the drums at the same time

Need improvements. I play the drums for 5 years and advanced beats will be awesome... Change bpm's of demos.. Have beats in other t.s. Like 7/4 or 6/8 or 9/4. And the possibility to create beats would be great too... Costly for what the app gives. I would have pay it 0.99$

Great app!. Love the lessons, the rudiments dictionary, etc! Some great example beats with good audio to help reinforce. Wish that the audio didn’t stretch and warp so much when changing tempo tho. Other than that, it’s great.

tDDictionary. Has potential but the only clear sounds are the snare, cowbell and ride cymbal. Bass drum needs to be more distinctive. Prefer "Drum School" app due to more clarity in sound and visual demo.

Great Start, I'm sure will improve nicely. This is a great begging to what I think one day could be the perfect drumming app. This is a fantastic tool for developing, or redeveloping those essential skills. What I would like to see added or updated: 1) The ability to change the BMP on the playback of rudiments and beats. 2) more advanced beats 3) more rudiments, and suggested practice variations. Overall, this app is fantastic and bound to get better.

Great app - would be amazing app with some tweaks. This is a great useful app for almost all drummers - the variety of beats makes it easy for drummers to deviate from their normal drumming genres. I would love to see the ability to modify tempos on beats / rudiments and like to see more beats. Keep up the good work.

First impression. Well this is not exactly what I expected. The idea here is unique and could be good seller, but. There is no note chasing, no information about each beat or group of beats even. It is truely a dictionary and does not help you to learn the beat. There is no note adjustment just a simple sound and not even a drum sound. There is no speed adustment and no setting or help page. Sorry but at this stage I give it 1 and half stars. Thanks, but you owe me 3 bucks

A few suggestions but great app!. This app is a great tool and reference. I would love to be able to modify the tempo of the rudiments. Also, it would be cool if you could edit or modify the existing beats to customize and create your own. Hope to see updates soon!

Disappointing. Good idea, but really only for fresh beginners. If you've been drumming for a while don't bother. If there could at least be some more advanced beats it might be useful. As well as more information on each beat. I was excited when I saw this but really let down when I opened it up. Put in some better beats in updates and I'll forgive

I think what this app will become is what I'm excited about it truely is nice to have a collection of drum techiques at your fingertips, what it really need is metronome, and lots of updates including many new style specific drum pattern ex. Rock, pop etc. But it's a straight to the point dictionary of techniques it's good! A drummers chord book. Keep it coming guys, looks good.as well I do find it's helping me viually understand and read the music Cheers!

Not bad. I'm a beginner drummer and it's helpful to me. But I wish I could control the tempo speed. And the app is missing some notation

TheDrumDictionary. very nice app, good knowledge of various styles and rudiments. Hopefully in a future update will be the ability to vary the tempo of the drumming audio. A recommended tempo for set styles so a drummer can use the varied audio tempo to try to reach the suggested tempos. This would work well with the practice logs. One more suggestion would have it work for multiple users...drum students!

Are there going to be any updates. I'm a student in ur uncles class mr.ferrario and he told me to get this app so I did and I think it's a great app if u just want to play along with a perticular beat but can u maybe put some videos on to show examples of how to play it like step-by-step videos plz thxs- Trevor

Good. It's good and has a lot of potential. I'm still waiting for an update though... Some double bass beats would be cool too!

Keep giong. The app is great but you defineatly have a lot of potential i was thinking that you could maybe transcribe some songs and put them on there and you could also make something where you can write down your own music.the only problem i found was in the time section YOU DONT HAVE ANY 7/8 BEATS!!!!! if you add that it would be great
