Neat!. I would like to be able to see past entries in an archived section as well. I love the concept, though! Well-done! Great for anyone who wants to learn more about music and composers but doesn't have a lot of time!

Awesome. Yay! A new way to force my refined musical tastes upon my friends!

Fun app. Friends always comment when I post birthday wishes on FB. Fun to hear reactions.

It's a good app!!. I like this application. It's a good, free app, so buy it now!!!

Wonderful for Discovering Classical Music. I love the brief summary about the classical composer born on each day and the link to ITunes to sample the music. This app makes it easy for me to hear new composers and be exposed to new classical music everyday. Highly recommend this app for a fun and easy way to access the finest music!

Great App!. I always look forward to pulling up the new composer at midnight! This is a great way to remind oneself of composers previously studied, as well as to learn about some rarely or never discussed in history classes. A search feature would be nice, as well as a swipe feature. Subjectivity often dilutes what should strictly be informative ("most influential"; "beautiful operas"; "most well-known"). These are merely opinions. Odd use of grammar on occasion, as well.

Crashes!!. I'm pretty sure I would love this app if I could even open it!! It'll be helpful for me since I'm taking music history classes. Please fix the crashes!!

Excellent. Overall, a great app. It's fun to see which composer's birthday it is every day.

Composer of the Day. I love this app. It introduces the whole family to new music and is easy to use. Thank you so much for making it. Please keep up the great work.😘

Grand!. A wonderful app. It's pretty neat to see all the birthdays each day of all the composers! Very wonderful!

Useful. Great app to expand your list of names to know and listen to.

Useful app. Good for expanding your knowledge beyond "the usual suspects" of classical music.

Love this app!!. Even if you aren't a classical music buff, you'll love having this app. It will give you a wealth of information and of wonderful music every day.

Just what I was looking for!. Being a piano teacher, I’m always looking for more resources and things I can implement into my teaching. I feel this app will not only broaden my composer knowledge, but my students knowledge as well. Plus, it’s cool knowing what composer was born today, and be able to read a little snippet about them. I love how each composer has an iTunes link so I can familiarize myself with their music and style, and also play a few pieces these composers are well known for to my students. I also wanted to add, I contacted Daniel with a suggestion I had, and he replied within a few hours. Great app and customer service!

Good for What I Need. I really just wanted something to give me a random composer to listen to every day. This app helps me work on learning composers' various works.

Handy reference for this classical DJ. Happy to find this app for my iPhone. Just one more tool to ad-lib from in my classical DJ work. Gave it 4 stars because it does not yet allow you to look ahead of “today”. However, the developer promised me he intends to add that feature soon. Recommended app for introducing kids and anyone to classical music in small doses.. planting a seed. Wish teachers would make a habit of referring to this nice app in their classrooms to foster an appreciation of this genre.

Get to know a new composer daily. This is a great, small footprint (a few kb's), app. Every so often you'll come across a composer you haven't heard about or you meant to research a little bit more about. An iTunes link transfers to the composers work where you can listen previews and broaden your horizon. Thanks for this informative app.

Wonderful edition to my daily updates. I check this app everyday! I even wrote an email to the app's developer, Daniel, about Beethoven's birth date not being included. He responded very quickly and told me what I had already suspected. We have a christening date & an estimation on his birth, but nothing exact. I appreciated their diligence to accuracy.

Be sure click the listening link!. "A nugget of knowledge a day keeps the cobwebs away." It must be difficult to distill a composer's contributions down to a few choice sentences. It is neither too wordy, too technical, nor too anecdotal. HATS OFF to your fine research and editing!

Thank God this app exists!. Great app! Love checking it each day I wake up! Educational and fun!

Great app!. I check in nearly every day, and the information is great!

This App!. great app!! Check it everyday

Good Resource. This is a great source for learning about the music of both the famous and not so famous composers. The application would be much more informative if the user could go back and forth by date and be able to at least "look up a composer"

Meh. How could you not list Leonard Bernstein's bd August 25 and instead have Stefan Wolpe??? I don't trust you any more.

Good, but not great.. I was looking for something to use in my classroom so the students will be ready for music. While the little blurbs are great I'm beginning to agree with other reviewers. There should definitely be an option to see upcoming composers. Death dates would also be great as well as a photo of what the composer looks like (especially for those less popular).

A daily visit for me. This is great to follow and see your favorite composer or an unknown composer show up on their birthday. Also, you always get a little history about each.

I like this app.. This app is great. I would like to see it somewhat more developed. It's too short. I could read an extra paragraph as well as your brief summary.

Valuable info and great service!. I've always wanted a way to gain knowledge about composers across the world without having to take a college course. This app provides just that in a nice interface. Also, when I asked for a possible feature implementation, the creator of the app quickly replied with a thoughtful response. I'm very pleased.

You thought you know a lot about music...365 composers you might have never heard of!. Nice little trivia app. Most people will hardly recognize any of the composers, and the tidbits take no time at all to read. Sometimes they really inspire further research and lead to some cool discoveries!

Very nice app!. I enjoy this app. It's fun to see which composer's birthday is on the current day. Thanks!

Great App!. Been using this App for about two years. Unfortunately Central Florida is an orchestral music desert. No radio station in this market plays a single note of classical music. Composer of the Day is only place where I can learn about new and different composers and hear music that is new to me. Great job.

Great. Thanks for creating this! It might be nice to be able to share the composer of the day info via social media sites & such; right now you can only share via mail. Thanks!

Great app. This is a great app for music students and classical music lovers of all ages. Highly recommended.

Great for composer history at a glance. They provide a great variety of composers representing a vast array of periods and genres.

Great resource for educators. I love this app in my music classroom. It is a simple yet effective way to introduce a ton of composers (both well known and obscure) to my students. The links to iTunes provides an immediate example of their work.

A Major Flaw, and Several Improvements. Wittenberg University's Composer of the Day, is a clean, relatively well designed utility (it could use a swipe feature, an archive, and "year of death" dates) that gives a one sentence blurb of 365 composers, one for each day of the year, complete with birth year. It comes complete with a link to Apple's iTunes store that directs to the featured composer's music. The supervising developer of this app. is Prof. Daniel Kazez of Wittenberg University. The apps' major flaw is its' incorrect grammar and poor use of English. For example: "America Stephen Foster...was born on *this* 4th of July in 1826". For example "this" should be "the". I wouldn't mention this but for the fact that the application is riddled with these kind of errors. The developer's bizarre use of English - given in the several entries I read - could create significant error in comprehension for students and laymen and needs to be corrected. Another error from July 5th: "American George Rochberg, who used *Romantic* and modern styles" - in this case, "romantic" isn't capitalized. Prof. Kazez can check the Chicago Manual of Style here. Why, on the whole, grammatical abnormality plagues this app. is a mystery - it should have been professionally proofchecked. I wrote to the supervising developer, who unhelpfully disputed me - incorrectly - this is an authentic let down. Not recommended at present.

Informative!. This app gives a short bio on a composer. You can then tap on a link to the App Store to listen to samples of that composer's music, and buy if you like!

Great App!. I look forward to this almost every day. There are quite a few composers that I have never heard of though.

Composer of the day. Great app. Highly recommend this for any classical music enthusiasists. Would like to be able to view past dates and hope future updates will include this feature.
