Completely useless. The worst app in the history of the world. Since the last “upgrade” (ie. Downgrade) it greets you every time with a warning message that “our app is crazy busy right now” at any time of day. Good thing that their website still works.

AWFUL. The website itself is ok, although could still do with some improvements. Unlike others, it provides the user with a single point of reference across many sports. Lots of potential. HOWEVER..... The mobile app, disgusting. Clunky, the UI is terrible, it's like someone took a dump on my screen. Obviously this is a low priority for ESPN.

Slow full of ads.. The app is slow to load, but whats worse is the huge amount of screen real estate given to ads. Gone back to using the desktop versions with an ad blocker. Im not a product or a data source and its about time developers and companies realise this. Not everything in out lives needs to be monetized, its getting beyond a joke.

Forced closing at the moment. Has been working fine until this week - now it won’t show the complete ladder of my tipping comp and continually force closes. I tried to report the error with the app, but it just keeps taking me to the website, where I can’t find a way to report the issues. On the whole I love the app, but this issue is extremely annoying

Not a fan of the ads and other things. The ads are in DUMB spots. Right in the middle of the leaderboard scroll and the middle of the “who tipped what” page. On mine you can’t see person #13 on the ladder without some maneuvering and not at all on the other page. Either reposition them or even better get rid if them or provide a paid for ad free app like many others. Also, I’m in 3 different tipping comps for the NRL. Two seem to update scores quickly but the other a long time after. And finally, there does not seem to be an option to make different tips in this different comps. This is dumb !!

Option to clear tips. I wish you can put an option to clear tips. I was desperately looking for that so I can clear the game I’m not quite sure of but found none. Would very much appreciate it if you can have an update with it. Thank you

Better late than never- a great app finally!. Finally we have a great app without glitches, crashing, and super fast to load. I’ve been using this app for tips for about 10 years and in the past it has been slow and wouldn’t save my tips sometimes. Finally it has been updated and I love it! Haven’t had a problem this year. Keep up the good work!

Problem with account. Like so many others, problem with Disney account, but I don’t have a Disney account. It has always been a great app but just can’t get past the login screen and circle of death. However I have no problem with logging in with my account on my PC so it’s definitely the app that’s the problem. And logging a support request has yielded no response. Poor form for the beginning of the footy season!

Problems logging in. I had an account once, tried to log in, unable to, tried to reset password never received any help no matter how many times I went through the instructions and given advice I’d be contacted. I made a new account entirely, the App decided to shut down on me and the same merry go round happened about logging in, following instructions to reset and now I have a new account again. I received email notification I didn’t submit my tips in the previous account, goodness only knows what happened to the tips I had submitted. Useless waste of my time this footy season :(

Great thanks. Update solved the problem! Cheers! My app has been crashing every time it’s opened. I have tried reinstalling the app which helped for one use, then it started crashing again. Please fix.

Slow and seems to be old tech. I don’t see the point in having an app that is so bad it turns users off it altogether? The score, ladder, tips etc. for any competition you create doesn’t update in real time. Hours after a game you’re still waiting to see your stats based on the game outcome. Need to manually hit refresh to see the latest game score, it doesn’t always update automatically. I understand that it’s a free app but it could be so much better.

Just Junk. Useless app ever... hard to navigate Won’t save anything.... needs a complete overhaul... Have been invited to enter other competitions within the app but there is no option to say no or delete the request, only join. I don’t know these people so not going to join with some random so may or may not know! The original app works better and us what I still use, but won’t allow tips to be entered, it automatically sends you to the App Store and then opens the new app and all your info is gone... Star rating would be in the minus if you were able to input minus ratings

Latest iPhone version (6.2.7) rubbish. Not sure who your test team is but better QA is needed! Home Screen display since the update is awful Can’t easily see who you’ve tipped. Roll it back to a version that works is my recommendation.

Hate the new update. The old app was fine! This new app is horrible.....it’s difficult to find what you need and difficult to see your weeks tips. I also liked in the last app that once I did my tips I could easily see all my tips on the one screen without scrolling up/down, now they are so small you can’t barely distinguish between the terms colours. Horrible update, wish I could go back to the old one.

Robust & easy to use make it your choice. Very simple to set up & use even with patchy network connection. Email & phone reminders & good ladders for your comp. or leauge wise,some team/match stats so we’ve used it for our family tipping competition for 5 plus years

Woeful. This app just gets worse and worse every year. It used to be a user friendly, simple interface that just did what it was supposed to. Then ESPN took over, then Disney took over, and now the app is almost worthless. It’s difficult to navigate, sends millions of emails, which are impossible to turn off because it’s so hard to navigate, and signs you up for competitions you don’t want to be part of. Way to ruin a once good thing.

Love this. This tipping app is amazing to be onset I haven’t seen anything better then this app this app even tells you who people tipped the most! If you watch AFL then you this app is a must!

Not sure what’s happening. Have been using this app for ages. Never had an issue until recently. You put in tips and sometimes they don’t register. This has happened to several people in our Comp. I could see correct tips on one page but the score was not the same on the ladder. For example, I got 7 out of 9 correct. This is clearly displayed on one page. But, the ladder shows 6 out of 9. I have sent numerous emails and have had no response. Very frustrating

Average app. Takes way too long to update results after a game! Good concept just hasn’t been perfected. Hopefully 2020 app is better! Should be able to change tips for each comp your in too, instead you choose tips once for all comps, makes it hard to chase the lead on one comp and sit in front in another Comp, this needs to be changed for 2020 also!

Issues with tipping margins. This app isn’t working right for the 2022 season with regards to margin tipping. It allocated the margin to the wrong game, and defaults the margin to zero. This has affected our whole footy tipping comp- most had a zero margin for the first game- as the margin was registered to the second fixture. It’s doing the same thing again for round 2- it alll ayes the margin to the wrong match, and reverts to a zero margin for the first match Which actually needs the margin. There is no way to tip on the website now so this is very very frustrating!!

Where is Suncorp Super Netball on the app?. I like using this app for my AFL tipping, very basic but no complaints there. Why aren’t we able to tip Suncorp Super Netball on the app? If it’s available on the website surely this is an easy fix? You used to be able to use the app a couple of years ago but they’ve taken it off. Please bring it back.

Worst app - absolute rubbish. This is possibly the worst tipping app ever. Scores don’t collate correctly, depending which page/ladder you’re looking at, player scores are different. For EPL, it also doesn’t pick up postponed games so they just disappear and no option to tip the match when it’s rescheduled??!! What’s the point of a tipping app that can’t even keep score correctly??!?!

Make it simple and functional please.. Usually I run a tipping competition on AFLs official app. I have moved my group ESPN footy tipping this year. Most of my group are having difficulty entering the tip and finding out who tipped what. The club logos are so small. The writing and pictures on the adds are very clear and big but the important things are so small and cannot read. There are so much space wasted why can't you increase the text size bigger and the club logos. ( Eg . FOOTY live app. Best screen design ) Sometimes there is a huge add sitting in the middle of the screen!!! annoys the hell. If you want to make money with adds put the adds on the top or bottom of the screen. Not in the middle of the screen😡. The app freezes almost every time when I go into competitions and then go back to home. Had to close the app and start again. Please make the app more readable and more user friendly. I would like to give 5 stars but at the moment it only deserves 2

Fail. This app is disastrous! Every week there is a different problem! This week for example I’m trying to see what everyone has tipped but the app closes on me every time I scroll down! I have re installed a number of times and updated when there is an update! I have had nothing but issues with this site! I run a footy tipping Comp but I am seriously considering whether to use this site next year.

Too hard to access. Why is it soo hard to get into the app? It’s not like it has my bank account details. Every time I try get into the app, I have to re enter my password. The other day it detected weird activity…..on the device I always use, so I have to reset my password. It’s gotten soo difficult, I’ve given up using it. Was good for years. You have changed something and ruined it

Not a fan sorry. I usually go through the official AFL app but decided to give ESPN ago again (as an individual not a group comp) after not going through them for 9 years and I’m not impressed to be honest. It is a very, very basic app with out the essentials, which is ok if you’re not really into footy and just wanting to input your tips for your comp and wait for the results at the end of the week, but, I like to check each games score progress throughout which I don’t get on this app. The official afl app will show live scores throughout the game on your tipping screen (next to each club). This one just tells you who you have tipped, percentage and what quarter the game is up to. If you want live scores you have to google them outside of the app. It’s also a very basic looking app, I missed my margin input in round 1 because nothing stands out and just bends into the background, I couldn’t see properly where to put my margin in. I can’t comment on the group competition side as I’m tipping as an individual. This App really needs a bit more life put into it really, it just looks like a beginner has slapped together an app without much thought.

Major Issue. The private competition page has a problem. The total and round tips take forever to update. Other apps do it almost instantly. It's always had this problem I don't understand why the total and round tips of you and everyone in the private competition can't update everytime a game ends. Other then that major issue, the app is good.

Good but needs more. Just came here to say that I really think espn should add an extra tipping competition (like streaks and or flexi) that allows you to tip on either side of the bookmakers line for the game (effectively making each tip a 50/50). Doing this would really help to make each game much more interesting as the tipping would be much more split and you wouldn’t have so many meaningless games where everyone has tipped the strong favourite (like Melbourne) to beat the big upset (like kangaroos)

Awesomely easy. Awesome app , easy to use Maybe a bit difficult for collingwood supporters, but not sure they got mobile devices down there yet so should be all good to go.

Not happy. I have used this app with our work group for 4 years now. I find this “upgrade” quite frustrating and hope you go back to the earlier version soon. You used to be able to navigate easily. Not now. You used to be able to find out what the rest of your group picked for each game after the game started but not now. Maybe I just can’t work out how to find the info but if that’s the case it only proves my point that it is not at all user friendly and not easy to navigate.

Frustrated. I needed to tip a few rounds in advance so when I tried to do this I noticed that the submit tips button at the end would become inactive when I selected the tip for the last game (9th game of the round). This prevented me for submitting any tips for that round (although it stated 9 tips entered). I had to go to the website to submit tips. This seems to be a recent problem and needs to be fixed. I tried this on two different Apple devices with the same result.

Frustrated User. When you say new improvements made to make it easier, updates to all league ladders etc, I laugh. I’m forever sending off those contact us emails, which are not being actioned. Called ESPN in NSW to highlight the small issues that are constantly appearing, hopefully the software is being addressed in the Tech Dept. My private Comp members are complaining about wrong teams awarded points, slow game/ladder updates especially on the BBL tipping page. If I could find another tipping App we would all hit the Mutiny icon. Surely it’s not that hard to correct a game in the first round of BBL that was awarded points for Winning when they lost 5 weeks later. One Star rating until things change for the better

Was good but Rubbish Now. Have always used ESPN Tipping for our footy Tipping comps, been using it for about 4 years now and never had an issue. This year the app is absolute rubbish!! Doesn’t display users tips correctly, always slow & crashes. Not just me either, everyone in my competition having the same issue, won’t be using this again, rather stick to good old pen & paper instead of using this & dealing with all the headache!

Some changes needed. The app is great, however in terms of the rules of the tipping competition.... 1) if you don’t remember to tip anyone you should get zero! Not the away team. 2) you should be able to edit tips in different leagues.. later in the season it may be the case that you are winning one competition so therefore can tip safe, but need to tip some risks to overtake in another one of your comps!

Much better than some of the reviews would have you believe.. Like the new dashboard - shows much more clearly what youve tipped each round. Seems like theyve sorted most of the issues that other users have reported re: missing users on ladders. I like it!

App closes automatically. I recently upgraded to the new version of the app and since then whenever I go into my tipping comp ladder or the 'who tipped what' page it automatically closes down. Haven't been able to see the comp ladder for a couple of weeks now. Otherwise working okay up to that point.

Ladder and who tipped what is so glitchy. I updated the app because you said you fixed it. Still horrible when you scroll on the ladder or who tipped what. It freezes on your name and the person above and below you and it is just not user friendly. You need to give people the option to turn off the “split/freeze ladder on me when scrolling”. I managed to convince 23 people to download this app and now they are all complaining that it’s showing the wrong person against tips and points.

Buggy. Lots of gremlins in the system for the first few games of the NRL... some pages are showing incorrect tips for people, it’s even saying I didn’t tip game 1 which I definitely did, and my score reflects this. Please iron out the issues in the app guys, it’s supposed to make it easier to tip. This used to be a great app and each year I have noticed that there’s always issues in the app in round 1, but this year seems to be worse than normal. Will edit my low rating as soon as they’re fixed!

ESPN footy tips. I can’t log in to do my tips as it keeps coming up with something about an error with my Disney account. I have verified both accounts and reset both passwords and it still won’t let me log in. Pretty average when it tells you to contact the support team and the email provided doesn’t work!

Disappointing. Last years app was so much easier to use! This one is not user friendly. Now that I’m used to navigating it, other issues such as constant freezing is occurring where it takes hours to update. Well this time it has frozen since yesterday lunch time where the last 3 games have not been updated with points. Extremely disappointing!! Please bring the old one back as I don’t understand why that version needed to be updated to something worse!

Bring back the 2017 version ASAP!. When I first used this app this year I couldn’t believe what a massive downgrade it was. Thank god I was able to log in using the “League Now App” which used last years Format. Until this week when that app Tipping section linked me back to this frozen in time app. The whole set up is rubbish. PLEASE REVERT BACK TO THE 2017 FORMAT! I will be looking for a different app to use next year if this isn’t fixed.

Good app But. I can’t see my competitions ladder or who tipped what, it was working for the first 4 match weeks of the premier league and now it doesn’t allow anybody in the competition to view the ladder or who tipped what, please fix this ASAP

Fed up. 2nd year using this app. Last year wasn’t too bad. But this new ‘improved’ version is just laughable!! The whole point of this app is footy tipping competitions...but the ladder is almost never available 🤨 - pot luck if you can somehow (luckily) find out how you’re doing 😡 Frustrating to say the least. Time to find another tipping app I think.

Perfect App. This app is really good, as u can learn more about footy and other sports of it. Also it makes things enjoyable in the family, by having a bit of a competition.

It won’t let you sign in with a diff user. I deactivated my old work email, then I signed up with another email, but anytime I try to login to the app it references my old deactivated account - tells me it is deactivated & to contact service desk, the link for service doesn’t go anywhere. Also sending emails from yahoo accounts is tough as the system does not acknowledge yahoo, sends it to spam instead!

Clunky, seems to sacrifice function for looks. Have used this app to run our tipping comp for years. It used to be great. All you needed and easy to use. Now it’s clunky(probably due to all the ads loading) it jumps around and nothing is easy to find, except for the basics. Footy comp kicked off last night and app showed 3 incorrect tips for members of our comp. Then this morning it showed 3 other incorrect results. Will not recommend we use this app again unless there are improvements through the season.

Weirdest. Scrolling. Ever.. I get what you’re trying to do with the who tipped what list, the way it keeps your own score visible while you scroll. Kudos for the experiment. Now please change it back to a normal scrolling list and the app will be 700% less infuriating to use. Thanks!

Keeps crashing: UPDATE. I only got to round 3 and was number 1 in my comp when the app would no longer open. I can no longer maintain my number 1 spot in my comp. I’m an embarrassment to my friends now that I’ve fallen behind. Please fix this. UPDATE: an almost instant response to the crashing problem and it has been completely fixed! Pretty good app by the way. UPDATE 2: How can I change the tipping settings that concern when a person forgets to tip??? It won’t let me

Not the greatest update. I wish I didn’t do an update! I find the app very easy to use, but all the tips keep showing up wrong in our Comp! It’s very annoying! When I first look it says one team they’ve tipped... then I slide across and slide back and some of the tips change! It also doesn’t show everyone in our comp. Can you please fix this issue ASAP as it’s very frustrating! I’ve made my family download the app so it was easier this year to keep a tally... it’s clearly not when it’s showing incorrect tips!

Continually Crashes. The app immediately closes down upon opening. Only way to get app to work is to delete it and reinstall. Will then work fine until you close it and then try to reopen it. Then you have to go through this process all over again. A lot of people will miss out on submitting their tips because of this. Also, it is a very basic app without any real features. There are better ones around, but unfortunately we can’t change to them as the AFL season has started. Will be going else where next year though.

Didn't register tips. submitted everything but the first game. Went back into the app and it's still sitting there with a team selected and a margin entered but did not submit despite every other game going in? So I looked at the email it sends on submission that I normally ignore and sure as, said it wasn't tipped. This is the one thing this app should do - get the tips in! how can it ignore when a team and a margin is entered. There is no OK button after every team so to miss it should not be able to happen. Really not interested in putting in tips then double checking- this is supposed to be enjoyable, not a data entry job.

Footy tipping. Don’t think if you forget to or don’t put your tips in you get the away side! You should get zero, if someone has gone to the effort to put their tips in they should not get beaten by someone that’s forgotten or didn’t get around to it!

Recommend!. Easy to use. Much quicker than using the website in your phone. Don't seem to able to see the celebrity tips in this application. Definitely Recommend.

So easy!. Very easy to log in and use...a bit of a lag between clicking on "Submit" and it actually being accepted, but that's the only fault I can find...
