Must have app if you like to be organized.. I’ve been using this app for at least 5 years now. So many useful features like being able to import recipes from many food sites. The best thing for us is planning the entire week of meals. It compiles all of the ingredients onto a shopping list so you don’t have to. If you’re dieting or trying to eat healthy, half of the battle is food prep and organization. The shopping list categorized the items into the grocery store sections so you’re not zigzagging around when shopping. It has so many other features I don’t use like store preference or item pricing for budgeting. I would highly recommend this app. In fact, you’re wasting your time time if you don’t at least keep your normal grocery list on it. You always have your phone, so you always have your list. You should keep all your recipes here. Then when you’re at the store and have an epiphany to make something that night you hadn’t planned, there’s all the ingredients on your phone. Get it if you want to make your cooking life simpler.

Grandma wishes she had this. Okay this is the absolute perfect app. I get so sick of the monthly premiums that apps similar to this make you pay. These guys did the programming, made it user friendly, and so you pay once. You can use the free version (limits to like 10 recipes) to try it out. I fell in LOVE. Budgeting is so easy now, my husband has the app so he can change what we want to eat that week. Now I don’t have 3 month old bell peppers dying in my fridge. Creates a shopping list according to my meals, gives me an option to add what I already have in the house. I can cook from scratch without worrying if I have everything. I used excel before this but this is laptop and phone friendly. Bravo. Such a simple app with so many capabilities.

*Updated* Needs work for the same issues. **Updated** -There are still a lot of tweaks that need to be made in the app. I’ve added my email to the account but it is always saying that I don’t have one set up for it. I do, and it shows that I do. The shopping list and the quantity tab needs to be worked on still. I’ll select an item, put in an amount but it will almost always disappear or change when I click back into my master shopping list and this is so annoying especially when I’m actually getting my groceries. The syncing feature isn’t that smooth between devices, I find that I have to push sync on both apps a lot and close down the app for it to update properly. Debating on rating this a 3 or 4 star. I really like the app but it has had the same problems for forever now. So I’m rating it a 3. **Previous Rating** I've been looking for a meal planning app for a while and was recommended by a friend to try this app out. It's such a great tool! I love that it's easy to use.

Really helpful and intuitive, easy to use. Be sure to log-in to the website once you've synced. This is where you can modify and import recipes from Epicurious and other on-line recipe sites. Easier recipe entry there than via iphone. It's very easy to make out a weeks menu plan and aggregate all the shopping. I love that you see a list of what you need from the store and also a list of what you have at home. This helps when i'm cooking at a friends and need to pull from home stores. I really liked the sample of recipes they've already loaded on the app also. And the ability to email menus and email shopping lists is very handy. Well worth the cost for me. This app is saving me lots of time and we're eating much better, it's fabulous.

An Excellent App. I love all the features, easy to import recipes from the web, pantry control, meal plan schedule. Is even easy to add your own recipes which later you can add to your mean plans. Would love to see the ability to add shopping lists to OneNote, the Note App or other notes apps. It has it’s little bugs but they do not interfere with the functionality of the app. Really love it. But my favorite feature on the app is how simple it is to import recipes. Even if the website is too complicated, you can still, with a little more work, import the ingredients, servings, steps, name and more with ease. This because a Meal Planner without recipes would not be a Meal Planner at all. And having to enter recipes by hand, after 10 recipes in a row, would be boring nightmare. So yes, I love the app, help me keep track of my meals, and once you set up your pantry, it helps you even keep track of your shopping needs. No more “I bought these by mistake twice” errors. Very powerful. I do recommend to buy the full version. The free version has a very short limit for recipes imports. But let me tell you, is totally worth it.

This app does it all. I’m both über organized and a dyed in the wool foodie. This app never disappoints. It does everything I could possibly think of and many things I would have never thought of. I’ve created or imported well over 150 recipes so far. Being able to import and alter any recipe I find interesting is awesome. Often I will use a recipe I find online as “inspiration” and then modify it to suit my personal tastes and lifestyle. Being able to assign a recipe multiple categories is a game changer. I can easily filter the list if I’m looking for a paleo appetizer using seafood, for example. I can take my recipes with me wherever I go. I use it in the grocery store frequently when I suddenly think of something I’d like to make but am unsure of the ingredients.

Great time and money saver--LOVE this app!. Another update: still using the app years later, and it just keeps getting better. I can’t think of any “wish list” items that haven’t been implemented. The import from websites has improved a lot, and even when I don’t expect it to work well I’m pleasantly surprised. A keeper! Update: the developers listened to the "upload/download" concern and fixed it and of course there's an iPad version too. I do wish we could sync meal plans and shopping lists between devices, not just recipes. The ability to import recipes is awesome--I am constantly trying new things from Food Network and now many other websites. Love the new features! This is EXACTLY what I needed and we use it virtually every day! Original: We are "those people" who were eating out 5-6 days a week, but since I've started using Meal Board we are enjoying meals at home, spending less, eating more healthfully and saving lots of time! I love the online counterpart and only wish it were more robust, and that the upload/ download were a little more mistake-proof. I too look forward to an iPad version so my DH and I can share ideas in one place. All in all, I am very satisfied. This app is one of my "go-to"s!

My Favorite App. This app does it all!! I was searching for an app I could use to plan my meals, and came across MealBoard. It has surpassed my expectations. I read through each review since I was skeptical to spend money on something blindly. All of the reviewers left such positive reviews I was confident I would like it. Well, needless to say I LOVE IT!!! Here are all of the reasons you too should buy this app. 1) Easily plan your daily: meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner. 2) Recipe Box to store all of your favorite recipes. You can easily look up any recipe online via the app, or link directly to your favorite recipe apps!! This is a HUGE plus! You can also type up your favorite family recipes and add them to the app. 3) Track the items in your pantry. This will save you guessing what you have at home when you forget to add an item to your grocery list. 4) Grocery shopping list. Easily add ingredients from your recipe to a list via the app. 5) Sync your devices so no matter which one you have you will see the same thing. All of that being said, spend the few dollars and invest a little time to set the app up with all of your favorite recipes and pantry items and the app will practically do the work for you!! You will not regret it. ENJOY!

No more food waste!. The cost of this app is easily made back by how much money I’ve saved not having to throw food away! Not only does it let you figure out exactly how much you need for your weekly recipes before going shopping- you can also add & sort by expiration dates to the pantry. I feel like this feature is so critical, at the start of the week I can sort by expiration date and choose recipes to make sure I use everything before it goes bad. As a single student on a tight budget this is a must have! I would love to see some improvement to the scheduling portion of the app. 1. Bulk add from pantry to a meal Ex- If I’m going to have a variety of veggies with a dip for lunch, this really doesn’t justify making a recipe but it gets tedious to add each item individually. 2. Add a take out meal to the calendar. I’d like to be able to have a write-in option for a meal rather than being required to put in a recipe or pantry item. Ex- I know I’m getting take-out or going to an event with dinner I’d love to be able to write that in on the calendar to visually see my meals for the week. Would also love to see integration with grocery store apps in the future to help clip coupons!

Helps us (indirectly) to lose weight.. We use MealBoard on one iPhone and two iPads. Having so many options for sharing allows the two of as to coordinate (as a couple) and see the meal plan as it fits into our schedules. I am a big fan of the app, I love the pantry function and the ease of creating a grocery list. Being able to edit the categories and the aisles to the ones that I prefer is a big plus for me. I love how they’ve kept it simple and somewhat "text" oriented rather than "graphics" oriented. I don't need for it to be fancy, I just need for it to work! And it does! I had gone away from the routine of meal planning for quite a while and am returning to having it in my weekly approach. What I have found, by using MealBoard over the years, is that it helps me to more successfully work my WeightWatchers program. It was fun to fire-up MealBoard once again in tandem with my return to WeightWatchers.

Seems to cover it all!. Hello! Ive had the app for about a month and so far I love it! It seems to be very thorough and well written. I trusted many of the outstanding reviews on my decision to purchase this app. I do like to hear that there is no monthly fee and the developer stays well connected for suggestions, feedback, follow-up. Sounds like Ray knows customer service, which is often hard to find these days! I have many recipes, but enjoy being able to import MANY others. I still need to learn how/why to write “templates”, but I figure that will come with time as I proceed to explore the app. Thanks to all the great reviews (good and maybe not so good) bc again, I feel this is REAL, LIVE input from REAL people! I’m hoping Ray isn’t going anywhere and hope if we lose him somehow, we will still be able to continue using the app as we purchased, with all the fantastic features! Cheers to Ray!!

Great app!. Long time meal planner here, I’ve used a few different products and so far I really like this one. There’s a couple things it’s not great with yet (the barcode scanning is limited and I don’t see a way to bulk import recipes from another meal planning app yet) but it’s very fluid and has the best interface I’ve found so far. Some of the others are pretty but a little clunky, especially when it comes to the pantry features, but this has got so many clever little features I love, for example at first I was mad I couldn’t add a note to my meal plan but then I realized it wants me to add actual pantry ingredients which is way more useful. And meal prepping notes can be set up as reminders in recipes.

No automation. Nearly everything is manual. One of the only automated things is the default list of stores, none of which exist near me. I thought I could add any number of the various stores around me, but nothing is automated despite the description stating the app “supports multiple grocery stores” which I guess actually just means “you can type more than one line of text in this app!” I have to type the name of a store (no search), configure all of the aisles in the store, configure the prices of every item I might buy... I don’t get it. It feels like downloading Google Maps only to find out you have to enter all of the step-by-step directions yourself. I would have just casually gone our separate ways but I’m particularly upset that the developer charges a non-refundable $4 just to try this app. I could care less about the $4 honestly, but I highly recommend adding a free trial so others—who immediately realize that this doesn’t solve any substantive problems or pain points—are able to cancel without you pocketing their money. The bar is particularly high for pay-to-download apps, and this one doesn’t come close.

Updated review: Still a staple in my kitchen. Thanks to the developer for keeping this app updated, and thanks for all the hard work poured into the app. Mealboard is a regular fixture in my kitchen, used for everything from pantry management to recipe scaling to shopping list creation to, yes, meal planning. Thanks, again! Updated July 26, 2020 -so many fantastic updates and I am still using this app after all these years. That tells me it was a fantastic decision, and one that I hope to keep using for years to come. I rail, rant, and otherwise absolutely fight against subscription models. However, Mealboard is one app that, if done right, I will purchase a subscription for. It is that vital to my kitchen. Updated July 30, 2021 - yep. You guessed it: still going strong. Thanks again to the developer!

Great for storing my recipes!. I have a lot of recipes that I reference often. Some are just from the Internet, some from Allrecipes, some from my cookbooks. I really wanted to keep all of my favorite recipes together in one place and this app works excellent for that. Using the Allrecipes website is a joke, and I don’t like the app because of the annoying ads that just start making noise out of nowhere. I tried a few different apps for saving the recipes and my favorite was Anylist, but I did not like the idea of paying over and over again subscription style. This app has similar function to Anylist, but with this app, you pay once and done. You can import recipes from your favorite places, or add your recipes manually. Great app!

Efficient meal planning tool. I really like this app, and it has more than met my expectations. I was just looking for something that would allow me to schedule my meals, but I really like the ability to store my recipes and automatically create my shopping list based off the meal plan. I agree with the other reviews that it takes a while to set up, but I've just been adding recipes as I go so it hasn't been bad. The ability to import recipes from just about any site is amazing, and makes the entry process a breeze! Having everything in one place is amazing. I love being able to open up meal plan on my iPad while I'm cooking to get the recipes I need. The app is a bit clunky though and not so intuitive. Make sure you pay attention to the tutorials to pick up on the shortcuts, they are helpful.

Where has this app been all my life?. I wanted an app to put all my recipes into, not show me other people's recipes, import from the web easily, allow search of recipes by one or more ingredient and one or more food type, allow meal planning, store and manage food inventory and grocery lists, show my recipes for which I have all ingredients available to cook on demand, backup to cloud for device sharing and without extra cost or subscription, and allow web entry of recipes but not require a client be downloaded and installed on a computer. I've tried several recipe-type apps over the years including Paprika, Pepper Plate, at least 5-7 others I can't remember their names right now. This might sound too flowery or enthusiastic but that's how I feel about this app. It's the only one I've found that does all of my wishes/requirements seamlessly and so well and for so little $! But it also does even more functions I didn't consider a must have like optionally tracking prices, doing something with coupons I haven't used but it's there, creating meal plan templates, and it's so customizable! What you get for this price is extraordinary in the app market and I'm so impressed and thrilled with it. Highly recommend!

Best App I Have Ever Purchased. I have been using this app for maybe 10 years now and it is a lifesaver. 🙏🏻 I love that I can paste in a link to have everything sorted out into a list and directions that I can check off along the way. I just noticed scanning is now also an option 👏🏼. My shopping list comes together in seconds after adding meals for the week. I have one meal that is “weekly staples” so I check to be sure if we have eggs, butter, etc…. On day I will use the pantry, but need to have kids out of the house to be sure things stay accurate. I now have nearly 500 recipes and do have a little feature request/idea. I would love and would pay to be able to export my recipes into a little cookbook one day. 📕 Would be so cool to hand down to my kids and use as gifts.

Absolutely wonderful. I love love love this app. I'm not an app person at all. I use only two apps on a daily basis and this is one of them. It made my life so much easier and so much more organized. All modules are great but the best is that I can park my car on the way home in front of a grocery store and have a shopping list within 5 minutes for everything that I need for the whole week of meals. I also use it for non-recipe items like milk, bread, butter, etc. I don't buy more than needed thus I don't waste food, i.e. money, but have everything for the recipes. You will be able to get more recipes than you will ever need with two click per new recipe. What a time saver! My favorite site is Weber, because we like grilled food and his recipes are exceptional, but you will also be able to import recipes from website not listed as supported. Someone complained about lost recipes. It has never happened to me, but even if, you should know that our recipes are backed up on weekly basis. All you have to do is to contact Ray, the app developer, and he will help you with that. He has been very responsive with any questions I've had in the past and his support is great. I have been using this app for at least 2 years now and thought I should post a review to say how much I appreciate it. It would be very hard now to live without it!

Fantastic App!. And I don't do reviews! This is a first—but this app is really amazing. I selected it following research a couple of years ago for my wife thinking it would be "kinda nice." My wife is super organized, loves her recipes, really cares about her meal planning and has a demanding full time career as a an Psychiatric APRN. I do most of the actual grocery shopping. Wow—she really got serious about using Mealboard and it has amazed me how useful it is. Really exceeded my expectations. She has learned more and more and has a great data base now. We sync with my our iPhones and iPads. I can not imagine going shopping without using this app now. All our married kids now use it. It was really great for them to be able to log in on "moms" account - do a sync- and immediately get all of her data as a beginning base and then they all continued to modify their own apps on their own after that. Now they all swap and share recipes. When I help out with cooking (not one of my strong points) I'd be lost without Mealboard. So we always cook and shop with our iphone or iPad as the main control center. It takes a little learning curve but the effort you put in returns much more benefits. She can plan out cabin trip menus and gathering menus and just everyday menus and shopping lists really fast. I'm very impressed. It's been a blessing for us. I highly recommend it!! Well worth it!! Keep up the great job.

Great app.. I’ve used something similar but that vendor I think stop support even though it’s still in the App Store. This one is great. Has a shopping list that you can pull stuff you need from recipes. The importing recipes from websites is amazing. Even if you have to do it “manually” they make it really easy for you to do it especially importing ingredients. This is one of the apps I use daily. And the only weird thing I would say about this app is that it doesn’t default you to the current day when you open it. You have to choose a start date. And then you view the days that way. And then after the time view you choose is over, you have to go back in and choose another start date. It’s not a big deal. Not enough for me not to use this wonderful app

Imports any recipe. This app has lots of cool features that I keep meaning to try but I find it invaluable for the things I use it for all the time. It has become the only place I store all of my recipes. I love being able to scale recipes. Favorites that I wouldn’t bother to make just for me are much easier when the app scales the ingredients for me. My all-time favorite feature though it recipe import. When I find a recipe in a blog post that I want to try I just copy the url and open MealBoard. When I click on Import Recipe it pastes the url and loads the site. I add categories and occasionally categorize an ingredient and it is done. It is so simple I import recipes I haven’t tried yet because it is easier than using the original site while fighting my way through a bunch of ads, and I can scale it to meet my needs. This app meets my needs very well.

Makes planning easy. I really love this app! It takes a little work on the front end but once you get it set up it helps a lot. You have to input recipes, so you can use it as your recipe book as well, though I just put in the name and ingredients. This takes the most time. But thereafter it’s just checking the list. Plop what you want to make that week and then create a grocery list! I find it has greatly reduced the amount of unused food going bad in my fridge. I do not use the supplies list or coupons. Those features to me require too much work to maintain. Especially when if I want to see if I already have green beans all I have to do is open the freezer. But you don’t need to use those at all and it’s fine.

Robust!. I just downloaded this app and have started adding my favorite recipes. First impressions, the app has all the features I am looking for in a meal planner. Calendar, shopping list, recipe box, in addition to pantry tracker and even the ability to customize the stores you shop at and which stores you buy certain ingredients. Importing recipes is easy but does require going in for some quick edits most times. The only thing that I see as being a potential annoyance is that when the same ingredient is entered a little differently now different recipes, it adds both versions to the master list. If they're organized by the same category, it shouldn't be terribly annoying, but if you don't like redundancy, it will probably bug the crap out of you. You can definitely spend hours fine tuning this app to fit your needs which makes it a powerful tool.

Great meal planning app. I’ve been using this app for almost a year now. Learning its capabilities and how to use the app was a little difficult at first but now that I’ve learned what it can do and with the improvements implemented its really a great app. I recently used the shopping list for the first time and it made shopping for my ingredients so much easier because it tells you how much you need of each item so that you can buy the right amount. The absolute best part of the app is the ability to import recipes. At first the import feature didn’t seem to work so well or maybe is was the website from which I was trying to import but I just imported about 10 recipes this week and all imported fairly well. You have the ability to make adjustments or corrections to the imported recipe if needed. It will include a link to the original recipe so that you can easily go there if you want to see the original recipe website. I’m working on my Thanksgiving meal plan and recipes now. It’s definitely worth the price.

Amazing!. The best thing about this app is the ability to smoothly, seamlessly import recipes. I have been frustrated by Pepper Plate which had limited success at importing recipes. Mealboard seems to be able to correctly pull in any recipe accurately from pretty much anywhere. If I find a recipe on the web that I want to save, I simply copy the link. When I open Mealboard and tap on “import Recipe” it automatically grabs the link from my clipboard and pulls in that recipe like magic. The only exception I have found is NYT recipes. I suspect the NYT blocks it on their end because they want you to use their app. The organization and search are very good. I can customize categories and edit recipes as needed. The only improvement I would hope for is a minor one - the ability to re-order the ingredients list on an imported recipe. I orginally downloaded it to do meal planning to help shake up our same old routine and make sure i was using up some ingredients that were otherwise going to waste. It is great for that but I love it for the import feature. Overall, I would highly recommend this app to anyone looking for a way to keep track of recipes and plan meals.

Love this app but few improvements needed. Great app with potential to be perfect. Cons: When you add grocery items from recipe to shopping list, you can’t select which grocery store to add it to. Also there’s nowhere to store repeat items that you could easily add to your list. I also like being able to see more of my list at once, so a smaller font/spacing option would be nicer. However, in the grand scheme of things it’s a great app with a lot of pros: smooth interface, iPad compatible for planning, recipe imports are quick and efficient, you can choose a photo from the internet for your recipes really easily (which makes your whole app look nicer) and the meal planning ability is seamless and you can save templates (one of my favorite features). The only feature I never use is pantry - it’s too difficult to track every item in your pantry at all times.

Loving it. For years, we’ve been using a home-built database app that does much of what this app does. Over time, the custom app has become increasingly difficult to maintain (and we’re letting it go), so this has been a perfect solution! I like being able to enter/import (especially import!!) recipes on the computer, select weekly menus (and cook) from the tablet, then shop from my phone. Everything stays in sync. Normally we pick out six recipes for the week and then cook them in whatever order we feel like or have time for. Having to assign meals to a certain day takes away that flexibility, and this was a big negative for me at first. Over time we’ve gotten used to dragging and dropping recipes from one day to another and reorganizing as we go. Pretty amazing and easy! The pantry function is a bit confusing, but it’s more of a bonus than a requirement. After trying several apps, I’m glad I found this one. Very happy with it, and the whole family has access to the evening’s dinner plans and shopping list. Best of all: one-time purchase with no ridiculous subscription plans!

Flawless! Seriously. This app does exactly what it is supposed to do. I have never found an app that works perfectly, until this one. It imports recipes that are hidden in extraneous stuff and that are disjointed and intentionally segmented. And it does it just like you want. I’m amazed at how it finds and isolates ingredients and quantities. Looking for a recipe for the ingredients you have on hand? This suggests them. Need a shopping list for next weeks menus? This has it ready! Need to pass it along to another shopper? You can do it! Seriously, this app is flawless. It has a depth of development that constantly surprises me. There are many features I haven’t explored yet, but I am extremely happy with this app. I know you will be too!

Love this!. I love this app! I have it on my phone, my iPad, and my husband’s phone. He loves that he can add things to the grocery list and it will sync automatically, and that he always knows what’s for dinner. I love that it keeps all my recipes and I can read them on the iPad while cooking. I also love that it’s easy to remember all the options you have for dinners when making the meal plan for the week. I even include things like “frozen pizza” and “not here for dinner” as recipes, so that we can really see every option for busy nights. I’ve emailed with the app’s developer, and he’s really open to adding in new features and making it better. He told me he’s currently working on giving the website all the features the app has, which I think will be great too! Overall, this app saves me a couple hours each week, and streamlines everything so I never forget anything at the store. Awesome!!

So far, no complaints. I recently switched from Menu Planner to MealBoard because the developer never seemed to get the barcode scanner to work. I'm getting used to the functionality of this app and it's comparable, if not better. Importing recipes is definitely easier and has more compatible sites. I use Pinterest a lot, so I just copy the URL from the recipe's site and copy it here and auto import fast and easy. Even using the "tool" function to import recipes is efficient (although obviously not better). I look forward to setting up the pantry and freezer in the app to start tracking inventory! ***update*** I would like the developers to consider including an option to mark a pantry item (i.e. corndogs) as a recipe/side dish that can be added to the menu **and reduce inventory** instead of having to create a new recipe to update the pantry or manually updating the pantry for that item....I haven't been able to "quick add" a pantry item to the menu planner.

Love this app!!!. I’ve been using MealBoard daily for several years. This is my favorite app on my phone. While it comes with recipes, I entered all my own recipes and it was worth the time spent. I add recipes I want to make for the week, sync with my grocery list, and use the grocery list while shopping, checking off items I put in my cart. Sometimes, I stop at a grocery store without a shopping list prepared and add meals while there onto the meal calendar and sync with my grocery list and I’m all organized. No more forgetting what is in a recipe or forgetting to buy certain items. I can also email the shopping list to another family member to shop for me. If I want to text a shopping list, I just copy it from the email into a text. Each day, I can look at the calendar and see what I had planned to make, and then view the recipe for ingredients and directions. No need to pull out the cook book. This is also handy when I’m cooking on vacation or at someone else’s home. I can also easily edit the recipe to add important tips I discover as I’m preparing it. If I want to share recipes with friends, I can email them right from the app. If I want to print a recipe so my child can make it without looking at my phone, I can do that right from the app as well. I absolutely love this app!

Great app almost perfect. I do like the app but it is at times difficult to get the desired results when importing and inputting recipes. It needs to use the pantry as defaults on imports and inputting recipes. I would like the menu to be able to be placed instead of the bottom an option for either left or right and also to be able to hide it when wanted. The text editor could use some glossing up and beefing up and to utilize cooking measurements and the fractional items to not be a 1 then a / then 2 for one half. Give us fractions it takes too much actual typing to again get the desired results. Make it easier to format the recipes with buttons for recipe links, headers ect… For recipes that have videos how about the option to play them from the app? As a final upgrade how about being able to click on a time and set a timer?

Seems Almost perfect. I just started using the app and I have high hopes for it being the meal planning / kitchen organizing app I always wanted to have. But there is one big reason why I’m not using it very much: importing/inputting recipes to MealBoard is a huge put off when compared to my current grocery/recipe app: AnyList. AnyList is near perfect at importing recipes and super easy because it ads a share-menu command to Safari allowing 1 -tap entry of on-line recipes. No need to copy and paste URLs. It also does an amazing job of parsing recipe data that is pasted into the app. So it’s super easy to copy an emailed recipe and paste it in. I can also use the Mac version of AnyList to more quickly type in recipes. But AnyList does a horrible job of creating a grocery list from more than one recipe. It also does not have the ability to enter and keep track of items in the pantry. And right now their devs are adding stuff I really don’t need or want (Alexa integration) instead of improving the functionality of it. That is whyI really want to use this app as my only Grocery/Recipe app. But until getting the recipes into this one is easier I’m still using AnyList everyday and putting MealBoard on the back burner.

Too complicated. I spent two and a half hours yesterday and got all of three meals input. I figured that there is a learning curve at the beginning, plus time to get it set up, so I gave it another shot today. An hour later and I am frustrated at how unwieldy this app is. It suffers from the same thing a lot of organizing apps suffer from: over complicating things in an effort to give you more. I wanted something I could simply write down what the weeks meals are. I don’t need to put down a recipe for everything. I don’t need a grocery list. I already have an app I like for that, plus putting groceries on automatically from recipes has the problem that it adds staples I keep in stock always, and doesn’t add said staples when they start to run low. The very first recipe site on the list listed on the “imports” I use, and have an account, and the app. When I tried to import my recipes the other app opened, and I lost the import interface button and couldn’t import anything. I spent a lot of time but could not figure out a way except to close the recipe app, go back to this app, individually search each recipe on their import page and import it from the site opened anonymously through their web search. This app has wasted my time. I’ll go back to scribbling the weeks meals on a calendar on the wall. It’s a lot faster, and I need fast.

Easy to use, flexible. I’m obsessed with organization tools. They help me best use my time and balance a busy work life. I’ve been using three different apps for recipes, grocery list and meal list. This app works well for all 3. I’ve only had the app for a few hours now but here’s my pro/con list this far. Things I like so far: • you can import recipes from websites • it has categories, ingredients, etc. setup already but you can edit and customize easily • you can create a grocery list from your selected meals and also add other items like milk (my previous app didn’t allow for adding non-recipe ingredients) • customer support responded to my email within minutes and was very helpful Cons: • there isn’t a place for nutrition information

Works great for me. After looking at several other meal planning apps, I found this one. You do need to load a bunch of recipes when you get started but they have a search feature that gives you access to dozens of recipe sites so you can quickly upload new recipes to the app. I also created my own "recipes" so I can put non recipe type meals on the menu (e.g.: "turkey sandwich" for lunches or "stuffed baked potatoes" for dinners). I email the menu to myself and then print out the menu from my email to post on the fridge. I love the shopping list. I don't have the patience to manage my pantry, but I will just check off all the shopping list items I know I have at home before I go shopping. I also share the menu to my ICal which allows me to see what's for dinner when I'm at work. It would be great if it had a sign in, so that my phone app and my iPad app would be able to sync. Overall, I find this app simple to use and customize and has saved me time and money by reducing over-buying of food.

Excellent!. I think I’ve rated this app before but I love it so much I’m happy to again proclaim how amazing it is! Literal life changer. I’m not kidding. This made meal planning and grocery shopping so efficient I got my weekends back. I was grandfathered into the free app but paid the app $ voluntarily to show support. We have used this for years. I’ll find recipes while sitting on the couch watching a movie and just import stuff and then pop stuff that sounds good into a weekly menu, sync the grocery list and order a Walmart delivery or pickup. It feels like I hardly have to expend any energy on the chore of feeding my household. The kids are gone now but we had an iPad in the kitchen and one of the kids or my husband would check what’s for dinner that night then get started on prepping and cooking and we were all able to share in the task so nobody had to manage it all. It sounds corny but I’m so grateful to these developers for giving me my life back. It was so exhausting to think of ideas and make the list and do the shopping and put the groceries away and etc etc. Between this app and grocery delivery I’m a free woman!

Best Investment. What a fantastic app! I have been using it for about 1 1/2 years now and I don’t know how I lived without it! So worth the nominal app fee. Over the first 6-8 months, I slowly added recipes as I made them but I made it last winter’s project to get them all added...1900+ in total. This app saves time - no lost time trying to decide what is for dinner tonight and quick assembly of your shopping list. I love being able to access from anywhere: my phone on the go, my iPad in the house, my laptop for recipe entry. My family can even check what is for dinner and add meals they have been craving. There are very few issues, if any, but on the rare occasion an external website changes and recipes can no longer be imported properly, support is quick to respond to the report and resolve. The only thing I would like to see in the app is the ability to save a favorite meal (main and side combo). There is a template to save a weeks worth of meals but I’d like to be able to drill down a bit further.

Love It!. I absolutely love this app. It is so very customizable and I’ve been importing / entering recipes for two days straight now. About 20 years ago I tried a meal planning software called MasterCook. It was great for its time, but it was so unwieldy that I soon gave up. Because of that poor experience I have avoided this type of app until now. I use it on my iPad, which means I have a beautifully laid out recipe card to follow. I love that it generates a customizable shopping list that I can send directly to my printer. I’m sure that if I were more organized I would find the pantry portion something I couldn’t live without.... but I’m not there yet. Plus, I’m 67 and if I want something from the store I simply send my husband. For some reason he enjoys getting out of the house! The other thing I just love is that for recipes that I key in myself the app lets me browse and find whatever picture I want to use. And I found some really, really nice pictures. Makes me look like a star! And, last but not least, to be able to back everything up to the cloud so I don’t lose everything the next time I drop my iPad in the pool..... perfect. So, thank you. I almost never ever pay fir an app... but this one is worth every penny.

My heart has been longing for this kind of app. This is hands down my new favorite app ever. It allows you to sooooooo quickly input online recipes and the recognition of directions, ingredients and categorizing ingredients is amazing. Then being able to add meals (and leftovers) to the calendar and save them as templates for future use?! GENIUS. AND, being able to download a grocery list from your date range and see what’s in your pantry already?! This. Is. Outstanding. My life is about to be made easy. I’ve already shared it with so many people the day I got it because I’ve been looking for something like this for a while. And I’ve tried MANY meal planning apps, but most of them have a bad grocery list creator or pantry inventory thing. This is just too good to be true!!

Saves Time, Money & Stress. This is my 5th week using the app. On Saturday or Sunday I sit down and plan dinner meals for the next week, sync my shopping list, then place my order through my grocers online app to be picked up after work on Monday. This app saves me time and money for not having to stroll through the store and the stress of coming home and trying to figure out a dinner plan. This app makes cooking much more enjoyable for life after school and work. My favorite feature is the ability to import and edit recipes....and sync the ingredients into a shopping list! MIND BLOWN!!! I found a site that I like pulling recipes from and imported many. We have tried multiple new recipes since, that I don’t think I would have without this app. After about 3 weeks of using this app, my 6 year old got upset and in a whiny voice said, “mom, am I ever going to be able to eat chicken nuggets again!?” All I could do was laugh and respond, “ok son, I’ll quit cooking so you can eat more chicken nuggets.” We did have chicken nuggets that weekend, along with a homemade mac and cheese recipe I found and planned through this app. It was a hit! Thank you developers of MealBoard!

Worth paying for the full version. I really like how this app combines 3 things into one place: 1) the calendar to plan your meals 2) Your grocery shopping list 3) Your pantry (which in the past I used to have two separate apps to keep track) The game changer in my opinion is how you can move items from your shopping list to the pantry, huge time saver. I would have rated this app 5 stars but there were two things I was not able to get to work. One of them was Sharing the full version of this app with my family through the family purchases and the Apple store. I followed the instructions but could not get it to work on the 2nd device so I ended up paying for the full version on the 2nd device (but totally worth the money) now we can sync up. The second item is scanning the recipes from Books doesn’t really work on my end. When I scan the list of ingredients they get mushed up together and I just end up entering the recipe manually. importing the recipes from the web works really well, really awesome feature. one suggestion to the developers, if possible. If the ingredients on the pantry could show up on the recipes just to get a quick overview of what’s on hand.

Even more than I was looking for!. I’ve been using this app for a little over a week, and have been busily entering recipes, doing meal planning, and using the shopping list. Haven't yet approached the pantry inventory, but may with my pantry staples. Love that I can create templates of meal plans for future use, and love that it puts my recipe ingredients on my shopping list. Yes, its work to set up. But once a recipe is entered, I can tap to add it to my calendar, and tap to create a shopping list, and tap at the store to mark the item in my grocery cart (and tap again to add to the pantry if I decide to go that far!). Over time, this app is going to save me time - just with the grocery list alone, not to mention having a plan for meals. Downloading recipes so far has been simple, with minor edits required, and love that all of it is synched between my ipad where I do the entry, and my phone where I do my shopping - not to mention having recipes with me for spur of the moment plans!

Great app!. Love Love LOVE!!!!!! This app! It is revolutionizing my meal planning! I especially love that I can import my favorite healthy recipes in off my favorite websites. Saves me so much time. Of course I also like that I can add my own or old family recipes. Populates my a grocery list, that's me add the recipes to my weekly meal plan, then it remove the groceries items from the pantry when I make a recipe. Just can't get over how much I seriously Love this app! 1. It would help if we could share recipes on Pinterest to brag to our friends about what a great app this is. It's also free advertising for this app. 2. Additionally, when you go to move items from your shopping list to the pantry you have to click on a trashcan icon. This confused me for a while and I thought that the app did not move shopping list items to the pantry. I stopped using the app for a long time until I discovered the move to pantry option I was searching for was in the trashcan... It would be less confusing if you change the trash can icon or make two separate icons for deletion (trash can) and for groceries being moved to the pantry (maybe a door). Just a suggestion :) Thank you for creating this awesome app!

Remarkably feature-rich recipe and meal planner. I cannot sing the praises of MealBoard to manage recipes, menus, and grocery lists enough. It’s refreshing to buy an app outright and not have to pay a monthly fee or tolerate ads. Ray has made an incredibly robust and user-friendly app that allows me to easily import and write recipes; maintain a grocery and pantry inventory; create menus; and generate shopping lists from the menu plus current inventory levels. The interface looks clean and is simple to use. Additionally, I recently had an issue I created by installing the app on my iPad (formerly only on my iPhone) and failing to sign in before I entered a LOT of recipes and new inventory items. As such I wasn’t able to maintain this work and also assign it to my actual account once I realized what I had done. Ray had this resolved for me in a day and I didn’t lose any work. In addition to the work he’s already done to build this fantastic app, his commitment to maintaining and improving it for his customers is what we should hope to experience from all sellers/companies but in most instances that just isn’t the case. I highly and whole-heartedly recommend this app. Happy cooking!

Love!. I dont use all the features, but I would be lost without this app! Importing a recipe from the web takes seconds and includes a link back to original source so you can refer back to special notes or reviews that might have been posted with original recipe. I have actually created a “sewing projects” category and saved links back to projects I want to find again! (In this case the auto import does not work since there is technically no “recipe” but by using the tool option I save a picture and the title , and sometimes the materials needed) As others have mentioned, the ability to create a shopping list in minutes from nearly anywhere is also a life saver, and if you keep up on your “pantry inventory” (I Don’t) you wouldn’t even end up with duplicate jars of that spice you almost never use, but cant recall if you actually have it anymore lol

Import feature worth the $. This app was exactly what I was looking for. I love it so much! Whenever I see a recipe on Facebook or ANYWHERE that I want to try, I just copy the link and quickly import it into the app. I love that I can organize the recipes into categories of my choice. I have a special potluck category so anytime I am going to a party, I know exactly what I can make. It is super easy to grocery shop with this app, too. You can organize the grocery aisles to match your store. It doesn’t take a lot of battery life at the store to have the checklist up. When you meal plan, you can import the shopping list to the exact days you need to shop for. I have even recently enjoyed printing the shopping list. If your phone and your printer are both on wi-fi, you can quickly print the list off. This app is everything that I was looking for, and more. It was worth paying for, and that is a rare thing in an app.

Best recipe and shopping app ever. I have loved using this app ever since my cousin told me about it a few years ago. Our family of four each have it on our phones, linked, so no matter who is shopping, alone or multiple people at once, we can sync as we shop and get everything on our list correctly. The recipe import function was great and has gotten better with some recent updates such as the option to import ingredients as a text list. The “description “ field is a little hit or miss in terms of what is brought over from web pages. The one thing I always add manually to the description is a note of how many servings are in the original recipe, so that I can refer to that if there’s some part of the directions that makes reference to a specific quantity, especially when ingredients are meant to be divided (such as “add 1/3 cup of the flour”). I also routinely edit directions to add alternative instructions for Instant Pot and for Thermomix, two favorite appliances in our kitchen which take a little experience to know how to convert instructions. MealBoard makes it so easy for the whole family to shop and cook as a team! My only wish is that it be developed for other platforms so all my friends and cousins can use it.

One of my daily apps. I’ve had this app for over a year... maybe over two years??? Can’t remember exactly when I downloaded it but love it. I have imported over 800+ recipes (no, I haven’t tried them all yet, there are an embarrassingly high number of dessert ones in there) Pros: *** I can put one recipe in numerous categories, making my narrowing down process quicker. *** I’m a more frugal and efficient shopper with the grocery list. *** Having the website link on the recipe makes it so easy when someone asks for the recipe (although you can email it too). I usually have to screenshot it because I typically alter the original. These are just a few of the pros, I could be setting here, typing all day, if I tried to list them all. Cons: Not many of these, but the only reason I didn’t give the app a perfect 5 stars and it wouldn’t let me give it 4.5. *** Originally, you could have the item price on each one of your grocery list items. I forget which update did away with that, but as a single mom, I greatly miss it. I tried moving on to other apps but it was just too much trouble, so I came back. *** It doesn’t communicate with Alexa (or Siri)... if this could be addressed, that would be sublime. All in all, a great app, one that’s on the first screen of my phone.

Finally!!!. I hate meal prepping with a passion and this has completely transformed mealprepping for me, I can now never use anything else!

Just what I wanted. After trying a few meal planner/shopping list apps this one has all the features I wanted. I wanted to be easily able to import the recipes I have in soft copy, then make these into weekly mealplans and then automatically convert those into weekly and part-week shopping lists which I can then cross things off. An important feature for me is that the shopping list should aggregate ingredients that appear in multiple recipes i.e. if one recipe requires 1 tomato and another requires 2, the shopping list should say 3 tomatoes. And the same for weights. I rejected other apps solely because they didn't have this feature. I use the web application interface to import my recipes (from a file, not a website) which is a bit dated in appearance but works well, and after that I use both my phone and my tablet for the meal plans and shopping list. There are also other features that I don't use. Like another reviewer I am in Australia but I don't have any problems. I don't use the barcode feature they complain of. I just need the metric measurements and the ability to enter and reuse non-American ingredient names, and this app does those no problem.

Love this app. I’ve been using MealBoard for a few years now & absolutely love it, it’s so simple to use. I have over 300 meals saved & finding a meal to feed the family is so easy

Can’t do without!. Been using a long time and find very useful………………..

Love it!!. Really love this app! I’ve had it for years. I use it for all of my recipes. I even got my mum and friends to download it and we can share recipes 😊 Would love it even more if the categories sorted themselves into alphabetical order when added, but that’s a really minor thing!

So far so good. Am changing from another menu app at the moment and this is much improved. I would love to be able to also link dinner guests to what I have served them but I guess I'll just wait for someone to invent that part of the app. Well done.

Prefect for organising!!!. Only thing that would make it better would be that I can’t copy and past URLs into the recipe search. But I can do this on my laptop which is fine.

Scan your recipes :). This is a really great app. It took me a while to get my pantry and fav recipes up to date, but it’s worth the effort. Just do it gradually with each recipe you add. Multiple locations for your food is really useful, importing recipes from the net - great. But scanning a recipe that’s in your own cookbook using your phone camera is soo good to have. This is THE best app, and I’ve tried some really good ones. Am about to try the new linked recipes, a feature I missed from another app. Keep up the good work, and thank you.

Excellent app for meal planning and shopping. I’ve been using this app for years now and still love it! Import online recipes or take photos of a recipe’s ingredients/instructions - too easy. Meals Ingredients for the week are dropped into a shopping list, very handy. Ray is also quick to follow up with my queries. Highly recommended.

Brilliant App!. We absolutely love this app and use it week in, week out. Love that I can sync menus, send shopping lists and pop it on our calendar, so I can see it on my phone. Wouldn't use anything else!

So easy to use. Love it! It is so easy to import recipes from lots of different websites. This app has taken the headache out of my weekly meal planning

Good meal organizer. Works well though the shopping list organiser needs some tweaking. It often doesn't understand the volume descriptions so the items get stuck on the list. Not a biggy, just a bit of an annoyance. Also would be nice if it could export the shopping list to the relevant shop lists though I understand this may not be an app shortfall, it just would be nice, also syncing between devices doesn't work well. Takes a bit of time and effort to organise the pantry content but once it is done, WOW, does IT make life in the kitchen easy. Note that on the negatives I am really nit picking, but that is because there are no major issues, by and large this is an excellent app, I love it and is now part of my life. Keep up the good work. 👍

Almost perfect. The functionality of this app is unrivalled as far as I'm aware. The interface could use some freshening up to make it a tad more visual and user friendly, but really that's my only very small complaint. I've been using this app for years and I always come back to it for its awesome functionality. 😊 Also, I'm Australian, and the barcode function has never been something I've bothered with. Yes the initial set up takes a little bit of time, adding each product, but once it's done it's done.

Best app I've used. Absolutely love this app! It has so many great features and functions, and is well worth the price. I use it every week for meal planning and shopping, and it makes it all so easy. I also love having the ability to import recipes from websites. Thank you to the developers for creating such a wonderful app!

Game changer. This app has been a game changer. The ability to import or create recipes, assign them to a day and then generate a shopping list is amazing! This app is a must have!

My most valued app of all!. MealBoard is a life changer. I can’t praise it enough. It’s made a laborious job so much easier for me. I can import recipes from the literally millions available free online. I store them and this fantastic app makes all the rest so easy. Menu planning is now well organised and there are many great features. Now I can send shopping lists to my husband by simply by clicking on “Share Shopping List”. Who ever designed this app deserves a gold medal! Thanks so much 🙏🙏🙏

Helps organise meal planning & shopping. I love this app! I have done menus in advance for a long time, but this takes it to another level. I have scanned in all my favourite recipes, so now it’s easy to look through & see when it was last on the menu and plan a good variety of meals. Synchronising meals to your shopping list means you are less likely to forget something. It takes some time to set everything up, but it’s easy to do it bit by bit as you learn all the useful features of MealBoard.

Your meals your way. Finally — an recipe management and meal planning app that does not require that you sign up for yet another account. Get app; plan meals. Back up and share across devices using the device credentials, not another superfluous login. These developers got it right!

Excellent. I have found this app to be brilliant for storing recipes and planning meals. Easy to use and love how quickly I can import recipes from any website. I’m using local (Australian) websites and haven’t experienced any issues, however, I don’t use the function that prices my Shopping List - this isn’t something I would use.

Very impressed!!. This app is worth every cent. It's only by playing with it that I became aware of all its features e.g. By filtering recipes by ingredient it's now super easy to include items already in the pantry. Yes, it does take time to set up your recipes etc but I've quite enjoyed finally sorting through mine and adding new ones. It has saved me in dollars as I no longer have to throw out unused items as I shop only to what I need. Meal planning is a breeze and the template feature gives me a guideline to a nutritional week of food. Totally recommend.

Best ever meal planner and shopping list manager. This program is a ripper! It is comprehensive yet easy to use. I have used many shopping list and meal managers; this one is the best by a country mile. Take the time to set it up for yourself and you will not be sorry. It will save you time and money.

An app packed with thoughts and skills. I was an iOS developer myself and I tried to create an app with functions similar to this one for my own use. I have to say this app is very well thought and meets my needs. Now I use it every day to meal plan for the little one’s lunch boxes. There’s a bug though. The category table cells get messed up when I edit/move them then scroll the screen.

Meal planning done right. This has been the app I have been searching for. All my favourite recipes on hand with the ability to cross reference pantry items and plan shopping all in the one place, brilliant, well worth the money

Not for Australians. I bought the app as it has such great reviews however, I found that it doesn't have any Australian barcodes on file and if they are they are not in my pantry. This is very disappointing. This means I'll have to manually input each item in my pantry and once that's done every time I buy an item that is not in my pantry today I'll have to manually add it. Also adding meals to your week isn't as smooth as described. Each meal needs to be saved individually which takes longer. If you live where the app does have barcodes on file this app may still be a great product but not for down here.

Best App I’ve had!. Love this app! Reasonably user friendly, but the more I fiddled with it, the more I realised it could do! Fantastic to be able to edit recipe ingredients from imperial to metric (once I do the calculation) and that it syncs with my calendar and that if you email the shopping list to your mobile device it allows you to tick items off while shopping!

Best application. Use this app every day, gives me my shopping list for all the recipes that I have added. A Must have so I know what ing is needed when shopping. Can sync with iPod and iPad. Love this app, can easily add extras to my shopping list.

Simple, useful and no gimmicks. No subscription, clean interface for planning and the other extras are useful and don’t bloat the whole point of the app. You can also share this with your partner or family if you use the same MealBoard login, very helpful for planning in a shared household. I like the web option for importing recipes - but I’d like to see the database management stuff get a web portal in future, if possible. Only downside is the app doesn’t use all the swipe gestures for navigation making it feel a little dated. It’s also quite a powerful database management app, so the pantry management can be overwhelming. So just take it gradually. Otherwise I reckon this is a very solid and focused meal planner with some useful extras.

Love it!. This is a fabulous app! It's so easy to use and has already made our lives so much more organised! It has already saved us $$ in reducing food wastage and its only week 2! I also love it for the fact that when I travel for work I can remind hubby to eat the leftovers LOL! Like anything it's a bit to set up but worth it. A few pointers for newbies - it works like 1.set up recipes and modify them using your words (e.g. Scallions are Spring Onions or Shallots in AU). Take note of the units of measurement they use in recipes; 2. do a food audit and use the chosen units of measurement (I've used cups for all dry ingredients and teaspoons for spices and tablespoons for sauces; baking soda and stock powder etc. as this is what was commonly recognised in recipes) 3.organise the week and generate a shopping list. The reason to do it in this order is that it's data and if you use different measurements to do your audit then the recipe does then your shopping list won't be accurate so choosing units of measurement and sticking to it makes sure you have as close as possible list of actual ingredients.

Has changed the way I shop and cook!. This app is without a doubt saving me money. The ease of being able to know what is in my pantry, fridge, and freezer from my iPhone is amazing. Even better, being able to check recipes against that inventory for shopping purposes. BRILLIANT! I thought that was it? Nope. Found out you can sync one account over multiple devices, and it’s not connected to your Apple ID! It uses its own unique account login. Mum, Dad, Kids, Housemates, Partners, everyone can have the same update to date information. Also a handy shopping list. If you found something on sale, you can assign items to particular stores with a note or direction as to why. This app has it all! Totally worth the small price tag. One feature I’d love to see incorporated would be the ability to add photos into the directions section of recipes. Sometimes a reference photo is helpful when looking for a particular consistency or colour. Also, can we get a pink colour scheme? Am I right? Keep up the great work!!

Best Meal App. This is by far the beat meal planner app I have paid for. Worth every cent until now. I have been a user for more than 7 years.

Great intuitive app.. Love it. Takes a bit to learn to use all the features but each part is Intuitive . Comprehensive.

Love this app. I love this app, it really helps me prepare for the weekend. My only really big dislike is the way it does the shopping list. I would rather be able to send the items I need to a separate lists as when you go to print out the shopping list, it shows all of the items and the ones you are need are ticked in a second list below. Although I could just print the second page, other items are still in the list. The import recipe function on this is absolutely amazing. So easy to import recipes. I just hope the shopping list feature can be improved.

Fantastic. I love this App. It took a couple of days to set up, but worth it in the end. Makes shopping much easier. I don't forget things now. 😄

Keeps on Improving. I'm a mum of two and works full time. Love this app as it keeps me organized with weekly grocery & menu! So easy to use and the features has been added so many times since I got it 4 years ago!

Great!. Mealboard app is very helpful planning meals especially when working with a budget. A meal plan for more than 4 weeks would be helpful.

Great App. Great App, Easy to use, saving lots of shopping times. Unfortunately, App is based on US market, so few functions I can not use in Australia. Other than that all good and easy to use, customer support is great and quick response. Recommended to everyone.

Works perfectly!. This app has everything I wanted; a place to store recipes, then add those recipes to a nice-looking meal plan, then add the ingredients seamlessly to a shopping list. Of course, you can add food that isn’t a recipe to the meal plan, and add extra items (not from your recipe) to the shopping list. Unlike some other apps I have used, syncing works fast between my iPad and my phone. It makes it easy to be organised - I love it!

The Best!. This is the app I wouldn't be without. The effort to become familiar with all it's pages is well worth it - a truly useful tool. Very intuitive and easy. I import a few more favourite recipes a week to build it up without it being a chore - so easy to do. Love the shopping being sorted into departments - so much faster to whizz around the store. And great to have your fav recipes to hand for those less organised "what's-for-dinner" visits in the supermarket. Truly 6 star!

The best recipe and shopping list app. We tried a heap of apps before finding this one. This does exactly what we want. Super easy to import recipes from online or write your own in. Scales the ingredients depending on number of servings. Plans our week of food and then adds the correct amounts based on number of servings to the shopping list and combines the items e.g. if multiple recipes need tomatoes it adds up how many. Sync is fast and easy between my hubby and me. Can’t recommend it enough. Also easy to email recipes to guests who enjoyed the meal.

Excellent Tool. This app is an excellent tool for meal planning and grocery shopping. The ability to import recipes from hundreds of websites is a fantastic feature. Highly recommend this spp!

Awesome App. This app is the answer to one of my organising challenges. I love how customisable it is and how easy it is to customise for any country. Love how it has a pantry inventory so that you only buy what you need! Love how easy the shopping list function is. Thanks for creating such a great app and making it so user friendly. Not to mention the customer service is second to none. Have already recommended this to several people. Many thanks

This app has changed my life!. I am a mum of two kids - one 2, and one newborn. I have had so much trouble finding time to sit down and organize the weekly meals, and so ended up having to drag two kids to the shops almost everyday during this Covid crisis just to keep them fed. This app allows me to quickly, easily get a week of food organized, and in seconds create a shopping list so I can either do one big shop, or order a whole week of groceries online! We are wasting less food, spending less on take away, and eating healthier! I have tried many different apps and paper solutions in the past, but none have been as helpful and quick as this. I honestly can’t rate it high enough!

Makes weekly meal planning & shopping simple. This app has slowly evolved over the years & now once setup is a great tool for planning family meals & weekly shopping lists which makes life a lot simpler :-)

Easy to use. Loving this app, so easy to import from any site and definitely spending less on takeaway planning in advance

Love this app!. Works well for me. Easy to input and look up meals. Highlights for me is how the shopping list integrates so well with recipes n ease of modifying the list. Would b perfect finished with a calorie counter when doing recipes.

Great way to organise my recipes. I've been using MealBoard for a few years now and it just keeps on improving with every update. Great for importing recipes from the internet. This app makes meal planning so easy.

Easy and clear to use. I like this app, it’s easy to use and I can see my meal plan for the whole week.

GAME CHANGER!!. I’m so glad I’ve found this app, I’ve raved about it to all my friends because it’s truly changed my meal prep & cooking game. It’s features are truly remarkable for a free app, I couldn’t recommend it enough. Just get it! 🤩

Amazing!. I love this app, I have added all my favourite recipes, I do my meal plan for the week and create the shopping list on my iPad, then take my phone to so the shop, it is very very convenient 11/10 from me 👍🏻

Good app but problem with categories. Very nice app. Needs an initial time investment to set up but well worth it and provides helpful meal planning automation. What it doesn’t do is give you recipe suggestions based on the ingredients you have at home. I noticed a problem where changes made to categories in the settings section (adding, editing or resorting) are not visible in the recipe list view. They’re selectable when adding a new recipe or re-categorising a recipe, but when you want to plan your meals, not all of the new or changed categories are visible. It’s possible there is a category limit in meal plan drop down and recipe view. Would be great if that could be fixed as I now can’t select some meals because they’ve been allocated to categories I can’t see in the meal planner. Otherwise, really nice.

Best App ever!. Makes my life so much easier! It takes some time to upload all your recipes/ingredients but when that is done, your meal planning and shopping list take literally 5 minutes! Importing new recipes is very very easy. I am a big fan of app that can save me time and this one is by far my #1! Thank you for making this app available!

Excellent Meal Planning App. Well worth the money to unlock the extra features. Importing recipes from links is simple and intuitive, and results in a consistent recipe format. Adding meals to the calendar as well as generating shopping lists is very straightforward. Sharing settings across multiple devices is seamless. I went thru a number of apps before I got to this one and even the free version of MealBoard has better default options than other, more expensive apps. Highly recommended.

MealBoard. Easy to use. Everything in one place.

Love it but.... Love this app, but can we bring back the in stock recipe option?

Quick and easy to use. Quick and easy to use

Last update removed functionality. I recently did an update and now I can’t see the total dollar amount of my shopping list. The value is truncated with dots.

Organized. Very helpful at keeping the whole process of meal planning, shopping and recipes organized! I use it every day!

Amazing App. I have never rated apps since most are ok, but this one is amazing! It’s has made the pain of meal planning and organizing grocery lists so simple and easy. If you properly set up you meals the it’s as simple as set it and forget it. Also having it all recipes in one place ensures you get a good rotation in and not searching for the recipe online or somewhere else. Recommend 1000%!

Great app. Loving all the features in this meal planning app. Highly recommend

Can't sync to partner's device. Love the app, simple and intuitive but to share it with my partner, it doesn't work well. Customer support hasn't responded. We are looking for a better app

Great app, super useful. The best thing about the app is not having to wade through a wall of text to get to a recipe you use consistently. Bit of a learning curve, but I’m looking forward to exploring the full version, which I just bought this morning. I’ve been using it for years, and it’s proven itself to be handy, and at times a life saver. No subscription rubbish, thank goodness.

Needs to open APIs and also provide integration to Alexa for shopping list etc.. Great app. But too standalone for this day and age. Needs better integrations.

Some great features, but missing out.. I really want this app to be great, but it lacks a few features to make the experience great. The basic features are all here - recipe importing, adding to a grocery list, pantry inventory and meal planning. But when I’m cooking, I don’t want to touch my phone and the app doesn’t offer Siri integration Or the ability to input items from Reminders. Ignoring that feature, the app does what is claims to do.

THIS IS THE. BEST. APP. EVER.. I am so, so happy with this app. I don’t usually purchase apps, but this was worth every penny.

Love this meal planner. Best meal planner I have ever used.

Full featured app. Very easy to use, doesn't require paid version to be very useful.

Every organized person's dream. This app has been very useful in helping me stay on budget and reducing food wastage. It's also great how you can email your shopping list to yourself or others and the list is in a checklist format!

Mealboard. So far so good ,takes awhile to get to know how to navigate it.

Awesome. What a great app compared to all the other ones that want a million dollars from you!

Perfect!. This app is exactly everything I needed for meal planning. I love that when I import recipes, if I copy a URL it automatically navigates there. I can even import recipes in languages other than English by soecifying the components of the recipe with the Tools bar. Awesome! The planning tool is also very flexible and just detailed enough. Doesn't have any pretty but useless extras, just the functionality and ease of use for family meal planning. Thank you!!

This deserves attention. What a simple and friendly user interface and how easy it is to import recipe! And to be able to import without limit with the current version. The calendar format is so clear. I love it! What a help!

Condescending service desk. Bought full version of this product. I spent 3 hours inputting my pantry, had an issue with the app moving my entire pantry to my shopping list and could figure out how to clear. Tried to get a ticket stared with service desk and was sent links to the help tab. Truly disappointed in the service. Pen and paper, ten bucks worth of pads and paper will last years…… don’t buy

Okay.. not sure it’s fully worth it.. It does what it says, but takes a lot of work to actually setup and maintain. The following issues prevent this from being really useful: 1. Barcode scanner does not work well. —- the database is limited to only a couple of stores (doesn’t work with any Costco brands, and not great with Superstore/Loblaws). So have to enter a lot by hand. —- Products get added with the manufacturer’s specific name versus the generic name, which means you have to relabel everything. Apps like MyFitnessPal have a much better barcode scanner. 2. Very limited recipe list included and no obvious way to bulk transfer a bunch of recipes from another site. The app really needs to come with something like the “top 300 cheap and basic” meals with basic things like omelette, sandwiches, pasta, meat-potato-veggie meal so that it’s up and running. Then people can add special meals. This app has huge potential with its “meals based on current stock” function, but requires the user to invest a LOT of time to get it usable. The main point of the app is to quickly keep track of stock, develop meal plans based on saved recipes, and make a grocery list for what your missing. The lacking recipe database makes it impossible to actually use right away and poor scanner means you still have to input everything by hand which is really time consuming to maintain.

Only 18 recipes to choose from!!!. I bought the app after seeing all the positive reviews! I don’t see option to import recipes from other websites either! There are only 18 recipes to choose from and no free trial to know in advance about the app! Shame. Disappointed!

Love this app. This app works so well for me. Love how it allows me to choose my recipes for my week's meals and then generate my shopping list. So easy and then you can import recipes from the Web and you don't have to input data. This app has changed the way I plan meals and shop. I love love love it and would be totally lost without it. Most useful app in the world.

Intuitive and useful. I've tried a bunch of apps to "store" my own recipes and plan my meals and this app beats them all by far. I'm not using it for the pantry/shopping list stuff, only for recipes and meal planning. However, it is pretty useful when I'm figuring out what I need to buy since I only have to tap on it to know the ingredients! It just helps with organizing my week, you know. Here's a few other things I really like about the app: 1. I love the calendar view. It's very intuitive, you can just drag and drop every meal and it makes planning and switching up meals so much easier. 2. I love how the ingredients on the left can be striked through if you tap them, helps to know what's left while cooking. 3. The group header in ingredients!!! Very useful to organize things 4. The interface is clear, perfectly proportioned (like, the image of the recipe is small but visible, leaving space to the actual important information, unlike others apps who's image takes up the whole screen.) I just purchased the full version, although not needed at all since the app is totally functional without purchasing. So glad it's a one time fee for everything the app is worth!! Good job devs / designers :))

The best grocery and meal planning app. I have been using MealBoard for years and years. It works really great, simple to use yet very powerful. And it keeps getting better !

Simple and effective. Does what it says it will do. No ads which is fantastic. Use it everyday.

Long-Term Usage and Love. I've been using this app almost daily for years. It works exactly as I need it to, makung meal planning, shopping, and prep very easy.

Amazing. Just what we’ve needed this whole time.

Love it. Especially the capture of recipes and tagging/categories!

Changed our lives. This app has really helped us reign in our dining out. Having a meal plan with ready to go recipes has been a game changer in our household. This app makes it’s easy. My husband and I each have the app on our phones so we can see everything. Everything is coordinated and making supper goes much smoother.

Fantastic app!. Flexible, inclusive and simple to use

Great app. It would be great to have more options, that are available on the app, on the website version.

Excellent and Versatile Recipe App. MealBoard offers multiple pathways to enter your collection of recipes! (eg importing from web browsers via a search engine, translating pics to text via OCR, manually entering) Within the app is its own search function, calendar connects to recipe files, grocery list function that can connect to your local grocery stores, print options, sharing recipes via email or texting. Visuals are a bonus that can either be imported from the web or accessed from your own library of photos. Navigating within is reasonably straightforward.

Helpful but need improvement. I like that I can see the meal planning in my calendar every day so we know what we have to prepare for that day. I hope that they fix the constant crashes when I’m putting the meals in the apps calendar. Also will be nice to have the opportunity to change a meal from one date to another easy.

All it’s missing is integration with Google/Siri/Alexa. It has all the features I have been looking for: meal planning, grocery lists, customizable aisles based on stores, prices, etc. The only thing it is missing is integration with Smart Home devices such as Google Assistant, Siri or Alexa. I’m hoping to see that happen.

FINALLY!. Finally an app where I can meal plan, enter pantry items and make a grocery list. Literally the best! A few suggestions: add recipe difficulty option and a favourites options and a dark theme option :)

😀. This app is amazing! Never has meal planning been so easy. It holds all your recipes and is really user friendly.

This is the best app ever!. I have used this app for years and would be totally lost without it.

Doesn’t recognise Canadian foods. Told me my butter was a helicopter. I’d rather see my pantry sorted by item first, then brand name.

Best meal app ever. Love this app, makes me meal plan every week easily.

THIS APP CHANGED MY LIFE. I'm someone who loves to cook, hates routine, and has ADHD. This app takes some time to import recipes, but once you do there are a million ways this app makes meal planning, grocery shopping, and coordinating cooking/shopping with a partner or roomate/s. The paid version is 100% worth it, and I have told so many people to download this app, MealBoard should maybe sponsor me lol.

Well done. Great support. App works as advertised. Makes meal planning and grocery lists a snap. Like the new format.

Great App. Took some time to get use to using this app, LOL still learning it. I do love having the ability to import recipes easily and keeping track of my pantry/household goods. Seems to be coming more useful every day!

Great App. Great App!!! I’m able to use this app with my husband and share our meals and grocery list. Love that I can sync and it updates on his device as well.

This one is the best. Hands down the best in this category. Maybe not the coolest interface (but they’re making progress) but it’s really powerful. Importing recipes from the web is a breeze (I now have close to 1,000 recipes), notifications are really nice, works well on iPad and iPhone. I just love this app. There’s only one more feature that I’d like to see (but it’s a biggie): being able to sync the shopping list with a second person so when one checks off an item it also checks off on the other person’s phone.

Absolutely Amazing!!. This is my favourite app, its perfect for planning out meals or meal prep. Also its completely free! I like to put my own meals into the app

Great meal planning tool. Good functionality with ability to copy meals and move around from day to day for planning.

Most Functional Recipe App I’ve Found.. This app imports just recipes from just about any website and the shopping list syncs seamlessly with the meal planner. You can also set which stores and aisles you want to shop. It has sped up my shopping and saved me 100’s of times what I paid for it. My favourite recipe app of all time.

Can’t live without it!. This app is the best thing ever! I have been using it daily for about a year now, and it is life changing. After a few months, I decided to upgrade to the paid app so I could store all my recipes on it, and let me tell you, it’s worth every penny. It is sooooo easy now to plan my weekly menu! I love how it tells me how long since I’ve made a recipe - but her keeps me from getting in a rut of repeating something too often. I truly can’t live without this! I have uploaded so many recipes that if I lost them, I’d be devastated. Thank you for developing this wonderful app!

Glitchy. Great when it works. Unfortunately, it often adds random items instead of what I selected. For instance, today I tried to add Shakshuka as a dinner, and it added shampoo - repeatedly. You’d think maybe “shampoo” was just next to Shakshuka and my finger slipped, but shampoo was not even on the list I was selecting from. And when I tried to add Avgolemono, it added French Toast. Completely random. I want to like this app, but I am little irritated that I spent $10 to buy this so I could import more recipes when I reached the limit (which is something like ten recipes). I love the concept and the functions (when they work). It will probably be great if the bugs get fixed. Since I already paid for it. I guess I’ll keep using it and hope the bugs get worked out.

This is My All-Time Favorite App, Hands Down!!. Wow I’m so excited to see the added feature for scanning in recipes! I have done lots of hand-entering of recipes into Mealboard over the last few years which I didn’t mind investing the time for because I literally use this app every day. This will make my life even easier! I eat the keto lifestyle and easy access to many recipes is critical to keeping me on track. I don’t recall what I paid for this app but I would happily pay you again! In fact, going to your website right now to see if you have a donation button! Thanks so much for continuing to develop Mealboard!

Worth the $4. I’ve never paid for an app or rated one, but this is totally worth it. I used to use a spreadsheet for meal planning and a to-do app to organize my my grocery list by aisle. I figured there had to be something more efficient and I am so happy I searched and found this app. There’s a bit of a learning curve and it takes a while to set this up with your grocery store aisles and recipes, but once you do it’s very quick to plan your meals and efficiently shop. My only suggestion would be to have a desktop version that syncs to the app so that I can plan meals on the computer but then automatically have my shopping list on my phone. Also, I moved and my new Publix has different aisles which was a pain to switch, but again totally worth it now that’s I set it up to match the new store. Great vision with this app, it is very well thought out and makes meal planning and grocery shopping a breeze. The only feature I don’t use is the inventory feature. I think it would be way too tedious to keep track of.

MealBoard. Amazing app... as I’ve started using it more it’s useful features become more apparent. This app works great to just collect some of your favorite or harder to remember recipes however if you want to get more serious about meal planning, organizing your kitchen/pantry, eating healthy etc. MealBoard is great for this too. I love the fact that it’s very editable. If you have similar pantry entries it allows you to update them on the fly and then the next time you sync it updates your pantry and recipes. Very well designed and allows importing from all the popular recipe websites. This is all the further you need to look for a recipe/shopping app. I researched a while before going with MealBoard and it has met and exceeded every expectation.

GREAT APP. A friend recommended this app. I have been using another recipe management software but it has not been updated to access my recipes when I’m away from my computer. This app lets me input recipes with various methods, make a weekly meal plan, make a shopping list I can take to the store, scale recipes and SO much more. The app is VERY easy to figure out and use—there is not a huge learning curve. I look forward to using the full app when I buy it for $10–one time purchase, not a subscription. You can input up to 20 recipes to see if it fits your style. I HIGHLY recommend you try it out.

So many great features. I love this app so much! I’ve had it for a number of years and it just keeps getting better. The recipe import is great, it supports importing from a ton of sites (or you can manually tag if you happen to find one that isn’t supported). You can email nicely formatted recipes to friends (or choose from a number of other ways to share). I plan each week of meals and then it generates a shopping list sorted by grocery aisle so I can be a super efficient shopper. And I just found the feature to scale a recipe up or down in number of portions - no more on-the-fly math for me. Oh, and it has cloud syncing and web access if you want it. Definitely recommend!

Miracle app for simplifying all things in the kitchen. I absolutely love this app and am so happy I found it. Easy to use and incredible functionality. I love the calendar feature and how quick and easy it is to build out your meal plan over the next few weeks. The import recipe feature also makes it so easy to move recipes from my previous system into the app. I’ve now gotten rid of 3 separate systems/locations where I would keep track of grocery lists, recipes, etc. The export function is also superior to anything I’ve used in the past to share recipes because of the formatting down to one page/image. So incredibly simple and efficient.

Most versatile food management app I have found!. I have always had a hard time with all aspects of food management (with the exception of eating it... Lol!) Maintaining an inventory list so I don't double-buy, making a shopping list that actually has the things I need on it and having a plan of what meals to use the groceries for once I get them home...i have struggled with these all my adult life. Drives my husband crazy! Me too! This app has ma add all the difference. You have to dedicate some time to setting it up and tweaking it to fit your needs but it is so worth it! And the taking can be done as you go along... Nothing is set in stone. Love it!

Versatile Meal Planner. I was looking for a way to list out family dinners for the week and got so much more! To be clear this app requires some setup time but in the end is totally worth it. My main problem with other meal planning apps was that the recipes were either too gourmet for my kids or chosen for me. MealBoard, on the other hand, is a powerful blank slate! It has a few recipes to get you started but I deleted most of them since the dinners my family will eat are pretty basic. MealBoard lets you easily import any recipe from any website to build your customized recipe list to choose from in the future. MealBoard is the perfect custom recipe box / meal planner / shopping list / ingredient tracker all rolled into one.

I want to marry it. The more I use this app, the more I love it. Going on 2 years so far???? Such a game changer for meal planning, and there are layers I haven’t even really utilized yet. I just figured out how to take photos of print source recipes and convert them to text. Got so excited I had to leave a review. Most of my recipes are pulled from the internet, and they integrate quite neatly - although it’s worth the time to really align your ingredient names so they’ll total in your shopping list. Adding physical recipes was the slowest step for me, so it was a delight to discover a workaround (new??? I just didn’t see before???) This is a great app out of the box, even if you use the minimum capabilities. But there’s also incredible richness in what it can do if you’re willing to fiddle and customize. I HAAAAAAAATE meal planning and grocery shopping and this really made the process much much much easier. Looking forward to continuing to learn all its layers and functions 🎉🎉🎉

Essential App for the Cook. I’ve been using this app for years. I’m impressed that the developer has continued to update and improve the app for all this time. If you cook with Internet recipes, this is the best possible way I’ve found to keep them all in one place. The import feature is easier to use than ever. You can search recipes by name and ingredient and import the ingredients into a shopping list (which can be organized by section of the grocery store). It’s easy to share a recipe with a friend. There are so many wonderful recipes that I would have lost if it weren’t for this app. So much better than the recipe boxes and binders of yore.

Best All In One App!. I love this app! It’s so customizable. I set my stores, aisles & shopping lists. Adding recipes is so easy & you can even import ingredients to the shopping list. I’m able to add prices to track how much my bill will be. If I may make a suggestion, I’d love to see a barcode scanner. It would make adding new products a little easier. I highly recommend this app. I’ve tried them all & this is the absolute best! 1 tip: Open the website after you create your login in the app. I didn’t & when my phone crashed I lost everything. Backing it up online will be a a real timesaver if you have any problems

No prices. I only downloaded this app because I wanted the convenience of not only aggregated shopping list but auto pricing in which this app does not have available. I can look up recipes and add them to my Walmart app to see a total. I was hoping this app would automatically tell me the prices not force me to manually input each price for each grocery item. Too much work. I was also disappointed in the amount of recipes available without me having to import more. A whopping 18 and only 3 were vegetarian. I specially need vegan and gluten free so all my recipes I had to search for and import. By the end of this experience, I did everything I am already doing before the use of this app... looking up recipes, importing them, looking up prices per item, inputting them. Took hours of time that shouldn’t have been necessary. This app was useless to me.

Rating a 4 for now.. I spent to much time trying to figure out if I wanted MealBoard or Paprika. I read many reviews and decided to go with MealBoard specifically because of the barcode scanner in the pantry tab. I am really disappointed. I have scanned pancake mix and it comes up with “tv tub the Ching emperor” the “Sunkist tuna came up as dragon ball z Kai” and best of all the Campbells chunky chicken and dumpling came up as “Coed naked trucking XL” and it couldn’t find a lot of the other barcodes I scanned. I am hoping this is the only downfall, I am pretty excited to use this app. Update- The response time is fantastic. They apologized for the barcode stuff and said they are working on it. I also had another question for them at 10:00 at night expecting it to be awhile to hear from them and it didn’t even take 5 min!

I love, love, love this app. Grocery shopping and meal planning has never been easier. I do have a couple of questions though (sorry, my iPad doesn’t seem to want to email you): in the pantry, is it possible to sort the list by the things I actually have in stock? It’s kind of a pain scrolling through the list; and second, how can I track things that are not just used in recipes? Like milk or sandwich ingredients, butter, bread, koolaid, all those things that get consumed during the day that I don’t really have control over. Otherwise, I really do love everything about this app. Well thought out and executed.

The best app I have ever downloaded. OK so this may sound super stupid, But I am a very organized person and I love to plan. But since I started meal planning for me and my husband I haven’t been able to find anything that I like using. And normally I am write it down type person very old-fashioned I guess, but this has been amazing. The fact that I can asign some thing breakfast lunch or dinner the fact that I can easily import recipes from other websites and it takes no time I don’t have to copy and paste or anything like that. I would pay to download this app and I don’t see that lately because I don’t like paying for anything.

Very user friendly. I downloaded this app about half an hour ago and it is AMAZING It’s very user friendly - I have already imported several recipes to try it out and I LOVE that it shows just the recipe rather than having to scroll through a whole bunch of ads and jibberish like every blog has. Importing is very easy, either by searching in the search bar on the app or going to the browser and copying the link - when switching back to this app with a copied link, it automatically imports that website, no need to even paste! The shopping list is great and has all the functionality I want.

THE best meal planning / grocery list app. This app is absolutely invaluable to me. I’ve been using it for...I dunno, at least 5 years. It’s probably my most used app. Importing recipes is SO easy. Creating your weekly shopping list is even easier! Once you have your recipes imported and your grocery store aisles set up, you can have your entire menu each week + grocery list (in order by store aisle) ready within minutes. Check off what you’ve already got and you’re ready to go shopping! This has saved me SO much time AND money, because I’m only buying what I need at the store. I’d literally be lost without this app! (Please dev Ray...don’t ever take it away from us! lol)

Great when it works. I’ve been using the app for several years now, and when it works it is great for planning meals for my family of 6. Really like that I can manually put in my own recipes. I like the shopping list too, although I don’t use its full functionality to create a shopping list from my meal plans. Only bummer is the app keeps crashing. It started a couple months ago and would crash sometimes when I tried to add a new meal. It was a nuisance, but I could work around it. Now it’s to the point where it’s crashing almost half the time. I’m trying to hang in there hoping they will fix it because I have allot of time invested in making my meals/recipes. I’ve reached out to customer service a couple times and gotten reply emails, but no fixes.

Love this app.. Coming from a Galaxy Note 4 using The Grocery Tracker app, I’ve tried many meal planning/shopping list apps in search of an iPhone equivalent and this is by far the closest I’ve found. It takes a little bit to get it set up, but is easy to use once done. The only thing I wish it would do is give me the ability to set store specific aisles and not have to wade through all of the aisles I have created to assign them to products and stores. At least the ability to filter the aisles by store. I would also love if the developer would add the ability to export our grocery list to Walmart grocery, Kroger clicklist, Instacart, etc. Other than that, I am completely satisfied with this wonderful app.

Used to be a 5 star app. I love love love MealBoard. Or at least I did, until recently. I have used this app for more than a year and it performed beautifully and it was well worth the price. In the last few months, however, the app has crashed constantly and lost a lot of my data despite manually syncing every few minutes just in case. I thought my iPad might have been the problem, so I uninstalled and reinstalled and made sure everything was up to date, and still the crashing continues. I even did a factory reset of my iPad recently thinking that maybe it would speed up my other apps as well, but to no avail. Seeing as I’m not the only 1 star complaint on here makes me think that the app’s latest update has created some problems. Until they’re fixed, I’ll have to say goodbye to MealBoard.

Tried and True. If I could only purchase three apps, this would be one of them. I’ve had this app for several years and absolutely depend on it! It’s a lot of work setting it up for your particular stores and recipes, but once you do, meal planning / shopping / prep is SOOOOO EASY! It has literally changed my life! (Does that sound melodramatic or what? But it’s true!) I recently upgraded my phone and am still adjusting to the new version, but know that the investment of time and energy on the front end will bring HUGE rewards. Love love LOVE this app and recommend it wholeheartedly! After 6 years, it is still one of my very favorites! I would give it more stars if I could.

Love it!!!. This app is quickly becoming one of my favorites. I upgraded to the paid version and at $9.99 one time and no data collection, it was a no-brainer for me. I have tried many different apps to help plan meals but this one is exactly what I was looking for. It lets you go out to the web and search for recipes and then brings them in very quickly. It’s important to categorize them as you’re bringing them in because you’ll probably want to reference them later. I haven’t used all of the features yet but one thing I discovered today while cooking is that the phone screen never goes to sleep and as you complete each step you can touch the screen and that step will be lined out. There is an option to create templates from your weekly meals, but I haven’t tried that feature out yet as I’ve only had the app a couple of weeks. Overall, I seriously love it and can definitely envision using it for a long time. It seems like an app that will get better with use and has transformed weekly meal planning for me from some thing that I always dread doing.

So far so good.. I’ve only been using this app for about a week and so far I’m totally hooked! It does everything it promises and more. And unlike the other ones I tested, it’s a reasonable one-time cost vs a monthly fee. It does take some time initially to import all your favorite recipes from the internet but that’s a one time deal. It’s completely customizable from meal categories to stores you like to shop at, everything! If you REALLY want to use it to it’s full potential you can go through and inventory your entire pantry but that would take weeks in my case. Not to mention I don’t always use recipes and when I do I’m really bad about improvising them so it would’ve be very accurate. It does populate shopping lists based on your scheduled meal plans and inventory. You can then easily edit your list based on what you actually need. So far, I love it! Already stopped using the other shared shopping list. To use on more than one device, just use same login and sync. Super easy and user friendly.

The most useful meal planning app ever. I use this app regularly to get organized about my meal planning and grocery shopping. It takes time and effort to add in recipes, but it is so worth it once you have a good collection to work with. Also, it’s easy to add recipes from the internet, so you don’t have to type everything in yourself. I LOVE all of the detailed and super useful features, like being able to look for recipes I already have ingredients for and how the app creates a shopping list for me from my calendar based on the dates I want. The makers of this app thought of everything.

This app has everything I’ve been looking for!. I like to meal prep & it’s been really hard to find meal plans that come with grocery lists. I love that you can add recipes from anywhere, build a full weeks meal plan, AND get a premade grocery list based off of how many servings you’re planning. You can save a template if you really like a weeks meal plan, and you can copy/paste meals easily! It takes a little work to include your own recipes at the beginning, but the more you use it-the easier it gets! Definitely worth the price for all the features. I can build my meal plan on my iPad & take the list to the store on my phone. Sharing with my family is also easier!

Good, not great...yet. I chose this app over paprika 3 because the ingredients and instructions are on the same page so I didn’t have to touch my screen while cooking and the computer version is included. I give it 3 stars because it is cumbersome to import recipes. I have to tap 10 times to get the recipe to load in the app. Would be a lot better to be able to import directly from my browser instead of bouncing between the app and browser. That would be 1 1/2 stars, the other 1/2 star would be able to choose the apps opening page. Developer touted it is customizable, but I don’t use the meal planning part. I should be able to change the start page to recipes instead of meal planning. Developers seem to have made several updates since launch and I’m hoping these 2 are in the apps future.

Less time spent in the grocery store. I have been using this app for many years. I started using it because I was tired of staring into the refrigerator every night trying to figure out what to eat. So I started planning my meals for the week. I spend a little time once a week selecting my meals for the week, and check the app every night and start cooking. No more staring blankly into the refrigerator. A great benefit to this app is being able to generate a shopping list. I can now go to the grocery store and buy what I need and no more wandering aimlessly up and down the aisles. One wish that I have for this app is to be able to use an echo dot to add items to the grocery list.

Wonderful meal planning, shopping list, recipe storage. I absolutely love this app. Love that I can plan meals, and even tag leftovers. You can set meal templates, so that it just makes everything that much easier to schedule meals and plan for groceries. I especially use meal templates for holidays when there are those specific dishes that I make consistently. I love that you can input the cost of the ingredients as well as which store the ingredients are available. I would love to see that the notes section be expanded into a larger visible area rather than one line. Also, if there is a way to input prices for different stores that would be an added benefit. Thank you for such an awesome app!

Life Simplified. I can’t believe I’m writing an app review, but this is really fantastic. My favorite parts are that I can automatically pull together a shopping list from my recipes and that the app doesn’t close/time out when I’m cooking. It’s also easy to email/text your list to someone else. I like clicking the boxes and watching the list shrink when I get my groceries. It does take a little bit to input recipes if they’re not online, but the app makes up for it with how quickly you can upload online recipes. Some of the interface is awkward, but nothing that you can’t figure out with a little messing around. Totally worth the $$.

Great app!

Support from the Developer is Great!. I have used this app to help run my kitchen and reduce the number of trips to the store and am very pleased with the app. There is a bug with version 4.6.1 and iPadOS 15. I sent a support request email and Ray immediately responded; I sent him my iPad logs and he is working to solve the problem. In the meantime, it works fine on my iPhone and an old iPad that is not upgraded to iPadOS 15. I have been a mealboard user since it game out so many years ago and would highly recommend it. A little patience and avoid updating the app until an update is published to fix the bug; worth the wait. Doug

Finally!!!. I've been looking for a good grocery list/meal planning app for ages, and this one actually has it all! Besides having the (fully customizable) meal planning and grocery list features, MealBoard has customizable categories for grocery shopping with prices, stores, aisles - everything! This is the only app I've found that has ALL of these features AND meal planning capabilities (which can be synced to your calendar WITH times if you want to be crazy organized)! My one suggestion would be for the app to be able to connect to different stores to compare prices and available coupons...but I realize that's a lot to ask. 😉

One of the apps I use on a daily basis!. Along with the usual productivity apps, MealBoard is one of the apps I’ve used on a regular basis for YEARS. It helps me keep my recipes and cookbooks in order - the text recognition tool makes it very easy to get recipes out of my cookbooks and into a functional, searchable database. The developer made it even more friendly for people like me who like to catalog their cookbooks here, by creating the fill-in menu in the latest update. I’m a huge fan of how easy it is to plan my meals, sync my grocery list and sync to my iCal, so I always know what meals are coming up. I can’t recommend this app enough!

Best of the best. I’ve looked at and tried many pantry/recipe apps but this one is absolutely tops in my book! From the ease of downloading recipes from other sites or letting me input my own, to the shopping list, to the menu planner, to the pantry organizer that lets me name the spaces the way I want to name them, to the ability to categorize my recipes to being able to record prices, stores and expiration dates; this app is just almost perfect for me. What is missing? The only thing I would like to see is a second location for pantry items. When I buy a case of diced tomatoes, some go in my kitchen pantry and others go into other pantry areas and I’d love to be able to note that. Otherwise, just fabulous!

MealBoard has revolutionized my meal planning and prep. As a homemaker and mom to four kids this app has totally revolutionized and simplified my meal and snack planning, pantry stocking, grocery budgeting, and shopping experiences. And it has cut down on my meal prep times because it’s so easy to pull up recipes right in the app. It also allows me to share recipes easily which is a big bonus in the mom-of-young-kids world, as we moms are constantly hitting each other up for meal ideas. Be sure to check out the Settings to learn about all the wonderful functionalities of the app. I’m still discovering all the bells and whistles and I’m absolutely delighted every time I find a new feature. (Completely unabashed in my love for this app. 😆🙌🏻❤️👩🏻‍🍳)

One of My Favorite Apps. This app has simplified my trips to to the grocery store, menu planning, and meal preparation. I'm a better, more organized cook for it thanks to the many recipe sites I can link to and import recipes using search terms like "easy" plus "crockpot," "slow-cooker," "dessert," etc. I tell all my friends about it and a few have bought it. Now we can share our simple recipes and tried and true favorites so much easier. This is a GREAT app. After years of serving hamburger helper, frozen pizzas, corn dogs, etc. my husband and children now say I'm a wonderful cook. Thank you!

Buyer beware- SYNC YOUR RECIPES. I used to love this app. Used it for years with no problems and added probably hundreds of recipes. It added them and kept the collection No problem… until I had to change phones. Then I come back to this app and all but 7 recipes (likely demo ones) are GONE. I am going to see if there is anything I can do but after digging into why my recipes are gone, I find out there is a sync option with an account creation needed that was never mentioned in all of my use of the app. Why not some kind of pop up saying hey.. we see you aren’t syncing this to a backup or something? (It’s included in my Apple backup but obviously only the app not the data) do this to make sure you keep your recipes? I’m so sad to have lost years worth of recipes. Not sure I am willing to start again from scratch…

Helpful, Worth it. This app is so handy. You can search for recipes online and if you find one you want, the app pulls all the ingredients with amounts and saves the info. Shopping is super easy; the app syncs the recipes you chose for the week and pulls the ingredients into a list under categories like “Dairy” and “Produce”. You can tap the button next to an ingredient and it leaves your list. One thing that I would LOVE to see is a food diary/calorie counter feature or even a partnership with another calorie counting program. I seriously hate logging my meals, but a partnership or app feature like that would make it SO much easier!

Great Value! Worth it!. This app is exactly what you need! It’s functions are top notch and easy to use. I’m pleased with its use and I am barely starting to use it. $10 for the pro version is worth. You can import recipes or make your own. You can schedule a week out. I will say this is better than other meal scheduling/meal recipe apps. I was disappointed that this wasn’t on a list of top 5 meal prep apps to get. Also, I want to say that if the devs are listening, they should install a randomize function where you can randomize an “x” amount of meals from your bank of recipes. That’s the only negative I think, but even then it’s just simple enough to do on the user end.

Love this convenient tool. I’ve loaded over 200 recipes into this app with ease (some importing, some entering) and use it daily, mostly for recipes while cooking. When I do plan a menu ahead of time and use the grocery list feature, it is very handy. I email the list to myself and can check off the items in the little box as I go from store to store. No complaints whatsoever and a great price for the convenience of a curated set of no-fat, Whole food, plant-based recipes. When I had a question about a website not automatically importing the recipes, the support person fixed the problem immediately. The recipes can be emailed to friends and I appreciate that feature, too.

The perfect meal planning app. I had been meal planning using a hand crafted document which I had to update and create every week. It was so labor intensive and made creating shopping list an elephant of a task. Finding this app has made everything easier. I wanted to have control over which recipes to cook, other apps you could only use what was in their libraries. I wanted something that could easily generate a grocery list. Finally I wanted something that didn’t involve a subscription $$. Get this app you won’t regret it. I can’t wait to finish customizing it to my pantry and my recipes.

Flawless!

Love this app. Excellent app - very helpful with meal planning and shopping. Especially helpful to be able to arrange store aisles differently for each store so that shopping lists are in correct order. It does take a little bit of time to get your often-used recipes and ingredients up to date, having never done online planning before, but well worth it! Only drawback for me is that I wish it would allow you to set up more than one pantry (one for home 1, one for home 2). I would highly recommend this app for anyone wanting to have more control of meal planning and shopping!

Good but could be improved. I got the full version and the online it would be nice if you could make a shopping list from there as well. Also there are some glitches for syncing between devices. My list doesn’t always match the list on my husbands phone so things get missed. It would also be helpful if the order of the meals would be able to be put in and go where it should for the day. For example I plan dinners first but if I put in dinner first then breakfast then lunch it will show in that order on the calendar instead of breakfast, lunch, dinner. It would be nice for it to go in order. Overall very helpful app love the store break down lists and that you can categorize the lists. Makes things easy

So helpful! I love this app.. Just upgraded from 4 to 5 stars because every time I use it I find another great feature – like recipe reminders that you can use to remind yourself to take the meat out of the freezer the night before! Fantastic. I love that I can use my own recipes, and not be flooded with a library of things I probably won't make or eat. I love that it automatically adds ingredients from a recipe to my grocery list, with the option to deselect something I already have. Great app. It would be cool though if it added the recipe/meal to the calendar based on the number of servings, like if I'm prepping lunch for the week (with the option to add it every other day, etc.).
