Doesn’t work with iOS 11. Been using it for years. Stopped working when I upgraded to iOS 11 today.

Best of the Card Scanners. I downloaded the lite (free) versions of Cardmunch, CamCard, Scan Biz Cards, and World Card to test each using several cards I had on my desk that I needed to add to my contacts. Quick summary: Card Munch - maybe it works, maybe it doesn't. It is totally integrated with LinkedIn (cannot even open the app without signing in) which makes it useless as a business card scanner. I do not want to link to everyone I meet, just get their info into my contacts. Should be zero stars. Cam Card - did the worst translating the test cards. One of three was correct but still required editing. One required VERY extensive editing. One was totally unusable. Two stars because at least it is not LinkedIn Scan Biz Cards - pretty good - three stars. Got two of three almost perfect. Last one it struggled with company name and lost the person's name altogether. Inserted gibberish into the address. World Card - the clear winner. Initially struggled with one of the three cards but flash was off. When flash was turned on, got every one exactly perfect. Easy to export to contacts. Easy to turn off the useless (at least for me) "card holder" that would just add extra needless data on my phone. So four stars for this because since downloading the full version I have had one card it struggled with (the other software was far worse). This is - according to my test - the best of the bunch.

Best app, easy to use. I have used a lot of other apps but this one is the best one if you plan to be successful! Great developer who is constantly updating to make the app even more efficient.

Doesn't sync with contacts. Yes, I can sync with Google contacts if I give it access to all my Google data and rights. But the inability to add to the iPhone contacts is inexcusable. It's nice as an independent app, if that's what you want. Has good recognition.

Unreliable-Do not recommend. Unreliable. Would not recommend using. Notes do not transfer over consistently to iPhone contacts. As notes are used for search capabilities, it makes this application useless.

Wow. I never thought I would see something decipher a business card this well. Being me, I was skeptical of how well it would read what was on the card. Each card I used had a different layout and it still picked up every detail. This isn't to say it didn't mess up. I did have a couple times where it would misread, but after adjusting position and lighting, the app picked up the info spot on. Definitely worth it of you're looking for a quick and easy way to copy business card information to your phone. There's no hassle and no more searching through your wallet for a crumbled up piece of paper. Pick it up today.

No outlook sync??. I had a similar thing happened to what the other reviewer said. I thought that world card once I paid for the professional version would sync to my Outlook. I haven’t used it in a while I’ve recently spent literally an hour trying to add a couple business cards and see if they’re synchronizing to Outlook. This is crap. I’d like my money back but I’m sure that’s not gonna happen and it’s going to take way too long to try to even deal with it. I have tried multiple settings and cannot get it to sync it does show up on my iPhone in the contacts but I need it to go to my laptop. I don’t even see where it came in the Gmail.

Deleted — Again. I had used World Card for several years. It isn't perfect, but it has been a quick way to get business cards into my iPhone contacts, which in turn synchronize with Outlook. I was reasonably pleased with the way it worked. In the latest update, I was asked for permission to sync my Gmail contacts which I did not wish to do. It gave me no choice in the matter. As a result, I deleted the app from my phone because I have no interest in allowing it undefined access to other applications. Because the app gave me no choice, and I had no idea what it would do with data from my Gmail contacts, I considered the security risk unacceptable. When this was fixed and I noted that it now worked with iOS 11, I decided to give it another try. I just spent 30 min trying to scan 2 cards. The first wouldn’t auto crop. Finally it did. The second I never could get it to recognize, probably because the text is written in the opposite direction as usual. After being fooled twice, I am going to buy another app.

They are right. Better than the other. Just less features that aren't needed.. The other reviewers are right. This actually works. Scans in flawlessly. The "other business card reader" does not. Scans in a bunch of nonsense. Tested side by side. This is the way to go. Dont blow $6 on the other. Trust me. Note this is a down and dirty card scanner. It scans great. You edit if needed Then you export into your contacts. It does not have features as the other to scan an already saved picture or a place to see all the cards you scanned cards. Maybe in the future they will beef up the features especially scan from your photo roll. But if you want a card scanner that works. This is it.

Best I've found yet. I've tried a lot of them and have wasted some good money, but this one is currently the best, it really is. Just tried this new version with a couple of others I own and it was the only one to get 100% correct on a couple of new card I've collected. I also rescanned one I've scanned before and it got it perfect this time. Now you can select a stored photo as well, not available in the previous versions (so those not owning a 3GS can use it as well). The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is that it doesn't retain the pictures. I really would like the program to include a rudimentary rolodex function. One that includes call, email, or go to website, options for each stored card.

So happy to find this!!. This app had saved me sooo much trouble!! And I am amazed with how well it reads the info off the card when you take a photo. It is a little hard when it's a more glossy card, but most of the time you take one picture and it gets all the info! I had over a hundred cards on my desk and now they are all in my pocket, in alphabetic order and in groups!! Can't say enough!! I tell all my friends about this app. Very worth the couple bucks spent. :) :) Also I was a little worried about changing my phone and losing all my cards.. So I emailed the customer support and received a prompt response, they sent me a detailed email on how to transfer my info from old phone to new. Perfect!! Thanks again!!!

Excellent optical character recognition.. The user interface gets better over time. Synchs flawlessly with Apple address book. For large batches of cards, I still use their hardware card scanner on my Mac.

Amazing application. This application is truly amazing, it does exactly what it is designed to do. The accuracy of the app is remarkable when it comes to taking picture of any and all business cards and converting them instantly into contacts that you and anyone without a hassle can store them into your contacts app or even store them within the app in a order. This is a must have application for everyone and next time someone is about to give you a business card jus take a snap shot instead and help the environment and us keeping our earth greener because sooner or later you will end up throwing that card away in the trash anyway:) Go get it! You will not be disappointed and no need to carry around or even store stacks of business cards as they will be all right at your finger tips once you buy this app!

Terrible. I had World Card for years. Now they blocked my old app so I purchased the new one. It will not take my old contacts into new app. Useless

Watch out when upgrading. I'm a light user. I only had a few entries which I had not exported when I upgraded to the paid version. It wiped out my earlier cards! Beware! Otherwise, I am happy with the app. That's why I upgraded.

Fantastic!. I am amazed at quality of the OCR technology and the speed. The user interface is so simple and I was scanning cards in seconds. Probably had 30 cards scanned and exported to my contacts in less than 10 minutes. I also like the other features including the signature feature. I paid $20 for WhoPaste that does the same email signature conversion. This app works as described and is well worth the price. The key with all of these OCR apps is to take the photo scan in good light and on a stable surface. I think it helps if you can have the business card rest standing up against a dark surface (I used a black textbook) and then rest the iPhone in front of it. This approach ensures good light (no shadows) and stability at same time. I flew through a large stack of cards in minutes.

Don't take this update!!!!. I used WorldCard for many years but this update blew away all my contacts.

Update fixed issue-thanks. Updated -9/26- thanks for the fix, app works well now 9/25-Can you please fix the save to outlook when you take a picture of a business card? This was the reason I bought your app in the first place and I am very disappointed that it does not work with iOS 11. Most people do not use Gmail sync for business contacts, so forcing us to do it is not helpful.

Save button missing in ios11. Now useless.. Need to update!!

Very Happy. So far I am VERY pleased with this business card app. It has some occassional recognition problems with the text but easily fixed with the edit feature. Pics must be taken with bright natural light to eliminate shadows and retakes, but I would say 90% of my entries come out right 1st try. Must hold phone steady, pay attention to orientation and then crop and you will have a perfect reproduction of the actual card. Take your time and fiddle with this app and you will be pleased. I have a stack of cards in my desk and have so far put in about 30 - and am very pleased with the card clarity quality, organization, the optional link to my Mac Contacts,. Cards look and flip great in the horizontal coverflow format. If this app continues to be stabil with reliable Mac bsckup, it is a winner.

Surprisingly impressed!. Been stewing for a few weeks about whether and which business card reader app to buy. Had a feeling I might just be wasting my money. Took a chance today on WorldCard Mobile and I'm very happy I did. Did 29 cards today in a different lighting conditions using my handheld 3GS (no props/support). Nor do I have any "extra" software like Clarifier. The cards had a variety of designs, colors, and fonts. Although many of the cards needed minor tweaks, I stress that they were minor. The app did a great job of identifying and accurately capturing the most relevant data. I think only one card required what I would call significant editing. I did not find "merge" to work well in the first case I tried (blended two different contacts.) However, I simply did NOT "export" the merged data and was able to quickly recover. I occasionally forgot to select a group in which to file the contact (at the bottom before export), but that is obviously my fault, not the apps. I started using it as soon as I started it up (did not look at any info on how to use it) and I probably don't know all of its capability yet. I would like, or hope there is, a way to add a "Note" field to also export. Overall, I'm very pleased with the quality and usefulness of this app!

Was able to sync with iPad not any more.. Previous I was able to sync with my iPad. Need to come up with work around or fix.

Horrible update. I used to use this app all the time and was extremely pleased with its functionality. It looks like they’ve not only taken away that free functionality, but the registration process is convoluted and dysfunctional. Very unhappy.

Great Platform - Needs work for 3G. OK. I do a lot of business and was looking for something just like this app. I have the 3G and so I did need to go and buy the Griffin Clarifi case (around 30 bucks). Also have WorldCard Contacts. I wish the OCR was a little more fine tuned. Seems to have trouble with O's - makes them Q's, and 't', 'd' and 'f' gives it trouble too. It seems to have a hard time picking up characters in color or also on cards with color backgrounds. The address loads into the contact base as one string with street, city, st and zip on one line, rather than the specific fields themselves. I take pictures in bright daylight, afternoon or evening pics at the office desk don't come out too well, and yes I clean both lenses. I spend a lot of time correcting information, but I do get it into my phone which is the goal. I will say that on the cards that it all comes together and works on - It Rocks! Contacts works nicely and having the picture of the business card is pretty sweet. Just wish you could tweek the OCR for 3G already using the Griffin Clarifi. My volume of entry is around 8-10 cards daily. Great start just needs a few improvements.

OK - but desperately needs improvements. The basic functionality "take a photo of the business card and OCR it" is OK. Text recognition in a specific language is good but not top of the notch (it doesn't get obvious misses in text recognition. But I'm really missing better database functionality: once the number of cards grow, you need more than just alphabetical sorting. Typical use case: there's a big conference and at the end you collected 50 biz-cards. They all should be auto-tagged and later I should be able to view my database by "date-scanned" or by tag. Our brain works best that way, that we remember when/where we met people - but forgot their names… I bought the app about 2 years ago and aside of minor bug fixes unfortunately no significant update! Instead the developer floods the iTunes store with 10 or more apps - I don't have the time to compare and figure out if probably one of them is an additional value. It's just too confusing…like often: developer starts with a good basic idea but then gets caught in things he's not good.. Last point: it's not really intuitive: many options are not clear whether they are already activated - or when you push the button will then activate it. leads to false trials and wasted time or double scans…

Never lose another business card again!. I have always been known to lose all my most important business cards in the most desperate time of need and with WorldCard Mobile, I’ll never have to worry again! Not only can I scan every business card into my phone, but I can categorize it exactly the way I want to for quick and reliable access. Since I also deal a lot with customers out of the U.S., I have found that this app can recognize up to 20 different languages so I can always understand cards from different countries! Also another great feature that I found was that every time I scan a business card, I can instantly upload the card onto my computer and laptop so that I can have a backup system in case I lose my phone or it breaks. There are many more exciting features this app has to offer but I’ll let you find them out for yourself! I highly recommend this app to everyone!

Upgrade to google+?. Tried the app after a couple years from last time. Tried to synch with google contacts. It asked me to upgrade to google+ and redirected me to a google page in Chinese. Must be a scam

save to contact option down. The save to contact option is grayed and it cannot be turned on. Could you please help?

Saves hundreds of hours of work!. I meet new people every week and this app saves me hours of typing. It usually gets the first scan 100% correct on standard business card formats. Everything it takes into the I-phone gets synchronized to my Outlook. I used to be in sales and would come back from a trade show with a stack of business cards to manually enter into a contact db manager. We tried manual grayscale bitmap scanners in the old days, but they had no OCR. We tried auto-feed mini desktop card scanners and their OCR software must have been developed by aliens because it failed miserably on every card and required more time correcting the OCR than it would be to type it all in manually. This app takes contact acquisition into the stratosphere!

Brilliant, yet can be better.. Everything else (almost) does not matter so long as the target is reached, purpose served. This Card Scanning app does what it supposed to do well, I have a high success rate, but a couple of improvements will make this a much better app: - Default to open camera with overlay of the buttons (settings, help, etc) - Auto detect card edges (ala RedLaser) and auto capture at best position (sound feedback will be appropriate here) - Image optimization (contrast, sharpen) and auto recognize without needing to tap the 'recognize' button - text with watermark graphics don't get recognized. - No manual selection of field recognition (not important but can avoid giving up on difficult/unrecognized card) - Instead of 'Export' and popup confirmation when done, consider a more subtler cue without distraction. - Number formatting/clean up (e.g. auto add + to country prefix, remove ( ) and/or '0' — or provide an easier feature to manually correct the OCR-ed text (ala Dragon Dictation). - Duplicate card detection/merge with existing contact. - Better icon/UI — pretty please! Looks can be deceiving and your competition is doing a much better job on the experience/graphic part: Business Card Reader, Cardreader has a far more superior interface/icon.

Best results. I downloaded the lite/free versions of a bunch of these apps in an effort to digitize my card inventory. I used the same photos of different cards to compare the apps and this one passed with great results. None of the apps were 100% accurate; this app had the least number if issues, and, in my testing, none of the other apps were able to correct the mistakes made by this app. The results of the other apps were good enough to use if the auxiliary features I then were important to me. However, accuracy was my primary concern and hence this app won out. It is turning out to be a great time saver. I am using it simply to get all my cards into my iCloud contacts (using my iPhone 4 contacts) and it works perfectly! I also tried this app on my iPad2, and as the description states, it doesn't work too well with the low res camera there.

Doesn’t seem to work with iOS 11. This is been my go to card scanning app, but it doesn’t seem to work with the update to the latest software. I can scan the cards but they don’t get saved.

Ideal App For Biz Development Professionals. This is a perfect app if you have a client facing role in your business. If you travel a lot and are in a business development role you'll find this app extremely convenient. It works really well with standard business card with easy to read fonts like Times, Arial, Courier, etc. I've added tons of business cards like that and the app gets it 100% correct 90% of the time or so. When it doesn't translate everything perfectly it's off by one or two letters so you can update it and save it to your contacts in two seconds. It's so much better than adding contacts in manually! Business cards with artsy backgrounds and fancy fonts don't translate with as much accuracy, but that's understandable. Sometimes I can barely read them myself :)

What happened. This used to be so useful. Has serious issues. You select an option and are left with a screen that doesn't let you enter any info or make any selection or even exit. Twice i had to lose my work and start over.

Great, but with problems. I loved this app...but... The app has great features. It's quick and easy to find the contacts I want. It's easy to import new contacts from business cards and is fairly accurate (requires very minimal manual corrections). I like being able to see the photo of the business card; it makes it easier to jog my memory as to who the person is. My biggest gripe is that every time there has been an update, I completely lose all my business cards. Fortunately, I selected the option to merge all business cards with my iPhone contacts, so I can access them from the phone's contacts list. However, when I go into the world and app, all the contacts are gone. Every time I have had to rescan all my business cards. Then it adds a duplicate contact with my phone's contact list and I have to go back and merge them together...one by one...long and tedious.

So much better than a stack of paper business cards. While this app occasionally misinterpreted cursive/stylized text, it is quite good at deciphering most business card information. I was impressed how it identified phone vs fax numbers using the prefix on the card (people use tel, T, H, W, C, M, cell, fax, F, and many other variations). Using this app is an easy way for you to get rid of your paper business cards once and for all. It even has a quick capture mode so you can just input one after another. A few small edits here & there after you capture all the cards, and then you can get rid of the paper versions. You can leave them in the internal directory or choose to also export them to your iPhone contacts list. A simple app to use, would be great for anyone looking to scale back on the paper biz cards that they carry with them. It's fast & easy, and as long as you double check the recognized text/numbers before throwing away the card (just in case!), you will have the card info stored quickly and in an accessible place.

Makes Entering Contact Info Fun. Awesome app. Just input 10 cards in about 8 minutes, and I actually had fun doing it! Makes a few mistakes every once in a while that you'll need to manually correct, but the OCR works much better than that on some other business card scanning apps I've tried. And the browse feature, where you manually select some part of the card for recognition that it missed or got wrong the first time through is fantidillytastic. Very happy with this. Wish list: Allow definition of default folder for new contacts to go in, to remind me to follow up with them. Store photo somewhere, rather than just discarding it - might I suggest an upload to Evernote?

If you are going to a conference you need this!. After a big event I get tons of cards. Sometimes I get around to putting them into my contacts but they usually sit in a pile until they are lost or thrown out. This app makes it so easy to import directly into my contact list. Scans easily, and for the most part it gets all the info correct. Some small details could be improved on the card reading and it would be nice to have the shutter/volume button work but pretty solid otherwise. Will be very happy to have this during SXSW for sure! *disclaimer* This app was given to me to test. However, if it had not, it would have been purchased after trying the lite version. It's that good.

Impressed. I always have stacks of business cards on my desk because I'm not sure if I will ever call some of the people. It not worth the effort to add them to my contacts. I went with this program because the reviews were good and some seemed legit. It actually work unlike the other apps I tried. I really like how it shows you the original pic of the text so you can verify the info. The OCR quality really depends on the business card (poorly designed cards with lots of pictures and fancy texts won't work) but I was surprised that most of the cards I scanned were correct. The ones that were not, it was easy to correct the info. The developer seems pretty active. The UI could use a little work but it's pretty intuitive.

Not working well, reqs. too much editing. I promise I'll update this if the app improves functionality and OCR tech but for now it's just not meeting expectations nor the $5.99 price tag. I love the idea of this app, if it worked well it would make my life so much easier. That said, I've tried about 10 cards and every single one of them has needed at least a little editing after the recognition process, some have needed a lot. I might as well just type everything into Contacts than spend the time finding a well lit spot, taking a half-decent picture of the card and then waiting for the recognition to do its thing before editing the whole contact page. Further guidance on how to take accurate recognition photos would be helpful, because it's just not working well enough now with the guidance they provide. Perhaps it's because so many business cards these days have varied color text and backgrounds with intersecting logos that confuses the recognition software, but until the software catches up, just 2 stars for me.

I tried both leaders - this one wins!!!. I had purchased Business Card reader a few weeks ago and thought it was good - but after biting the bullet and paying again for similar software - this is the hands down winner after using both! Believe it or not the other app does not put the first name and last name in each section- this one does. The other does not put each section ofthe address in it's own section - this one does. The other does not allow you to verify each section - this one does an in Much Much Much more accurate. I love it - glad I purchased this - and I removed the other Business Card reader app.

Too many business cards too little time!. I cannot vouch for any other competitive applications, but this app exceeded my expectations. The accuracy is impressive. I'm in sales and pick up new business cards weekly. My desk and bag were overflowing with cards. In a short amount of time, I was able use the app to copy all of the business cards to my iPhone contacts; moreover, I can move digital email signatures right into my contacts. It doesn't get every card perfectly scanned every time, and if you want that, hire a personal assistant. The learning cure is flat and it has saved me hours in data entry in the first week. I can't imagine another app being easier to use, more feature rich, and accurate.

Doesn't work worth a darn. I've tried this program on a good two dozen cards. The recognition works on most items on a business card, but a fair bit of editing is required on EVERY card. This wouldn't be so bad, except the editing interface is so cumbersome that, in the end, it's easier to just enter the information from scratch. Phone numbers are a particular problem. Many cards like to do "funky" things to differentiate phone numbers--separating them with dots, periods, or underscores instead of dashes. Unfortunately, it's not easy to re-edit the numbers into a standard format... requiring me to then go into my contact database to edit them by hand. It's a cool idea, and if they can get it right on at least a quarter of the cards I get--even well-formatted, perfectly plain cards--then I would use and recommend this app in a heartbeat. As is, save your money, since there are no refunds.

Best in Class app and How to use business card scanners. I have tried both WorldCard Mobile and Business Card Reader. I got better recognition with WCM and (this is an important "and") the ability to rotate 90 degrees until the scan is oriented as the app requires makes capturing the business card image less like a game of Twister than this app's nearest competitor. A very important feature when the orientation required makes it well nigh impossible to keep fingers and/or shadows out of the image area. Also, it is nearly imperative that one sync immediately after each entry. I scanned in a dozen or so cards only to have the sync fail (probably an stray space somewhere) so i had to begin deleting them one at a time and syncing after each deletion until the sync was successful. I deleted ten contacts of the twelve before I found the erroneous contact. So after that I scanned them in one at a time and synced after each entry. Voila! Twelve scanned contacts added to Address Book! So far my favorite and quite useful.

Very good. Have been using this app for years. I found it to be the best in it's category as it has improved over time. Does a fairly good job of OCR except for badly designed business cards (people think about this!). Suggestions: (1) please have app recognize card edges. It still can't handle oversize European cards or those weird skinny cards you sometimes get, even when photographed on a contrasting background. (2) Please please make the Countries list in alphabetical order without categories. This takes too long. First I have to think: in what continent is this country, then what sub-category, east, west, nope, then what continent does Worldcard think it's in, then scroll and pass it a few times (kind of in a hurry, maybe ADHD), ah, yes, Turkey in Western Asia. Would be much better.

Gets some things right... Most things wrong.. I received a business card scanner as a gift this Christmas. I wanted to save money for the gift giver so I shared with them the myriad of business card reader apps available at the app store for a fraction of the price. Based on the reviews of these applications, they did not come without problems. I ended up settling on WorldCard Mobile because it was 95% less money than the physical scanner, and had the fewest negative reviews associated with it. I tested 3 business cards with the app. All three had major errors that took extensive editing time to correct. In my experience, the software was only accurate with phone numbers, but almost useless with company names, employee names, physical and email addresses. Another major issue that cannot be overlooked is the time needed to line up the camera and take a useable photo of the card. I would have been better off entering the data manually. I ended up having the physical card scanner returned. I wish I could have done the same thing with the app.

Just what I was looking for. This is a great app. I deal with a lot of vendors and clients who are always giving me their business cards. I get tired of typing the info into my contacts. with this I don't have to. I shoot a picture of the card and the app converts it to text and fills in the correct areas. It's GREAT! 9 times out of 10 it has been dead on. the couple times that the information hasn't flowed correctly has been due to the card being an odd design or a font that is a bit different, like a script or handwritten type font. If you meet a lot of people who pass out cards that you want to keep track of this is the app you need.

Awesome Card/Contact Organizer. This app does exactly what its supposed to do. Well worth the money since I normally cap the price I spend on apps to $1.99. I took an image of a business card and hit the “Recognize” button and all the text on the card was deciphered and neatly categorized in its right location, no typing necessary. The Company Name, Mobile Number, Fax Number, Address, email, ect were all filled in. This information can then be saved to an existing contact or as a new contact on your phone. This app also includes a QR reader which makes it easy to assess websites you find embedded in the QR Codes found on many business cards today. That’s one less app you need since its included in this app. Overall, I'm really impressed.

Was great. Broken in OS11. This app has been a saver for years but does not work in OS 11. Do you plan to fix it?

Amazing mobile business card solution. WorldCard Mobile is a full solution for storing and organizing business cards and contacts of all types. With Cloud, Dropbox, and Gmail integration, you can keep in contact no matter what device you’re on. The OCR recognition for cards is moderately accurate and could use some improvement, but with manual editing this is an easy fix. The app has a clean and professional interface, and includes an attractive horizontal cover flow. It includes an entire help section included to help use its vast series of options. This one is fairly expansive and a fairly decent value for the price. My only small suggestion would be to add rotation for home screen.

WorldCard. Switched from HTC HD2 to iPhone 4. WorldCard Mobile is one of the best app I used to have. It is simple, just one click and get every info from the cards. Really neat! One suggestion... please make a cardholder!

Most of the time a brilliant app..... Dosen't recognize many cards but overall this is a brilliant app that means I can have all my biz cards to hand easily when away from the office..... Love the fact it takes pics as this is often how I remember the person & situation I received the card....

Rubbish app. Don’t purchase this app. I did and now the app will not sync with the outlook or my phone contacts. Lost 5 years of my business cards. Total waste of time. Don’t download this app

Worldcard. Excellent application, I like the contact categories and ability to selectively add individual cards to iPhone contacts. Recognizes just about any business card I have thrown at it. Use of cloud storage a nice extra a well for using across multiple devices.

Very accurate and easy to use in Australia. This is a wonderful time saving app if you exchange lots of business cards and use your contacts in your iPhone. I have the 3gs and it has recognized most of my Australian business cards 100% accurately. One tip is to make sure you have good lighting and solid background when you take the picture. And hold your phone as still as possible. Great results Down Under.

Scan the card. I have downloaded purchased more than enough card readers and the last one was Samcard which l thought was a 4 star but having used this one , this is at least 4 1/2, the option l like is the import function from emails which is the best feature so far in any card reader and very accurate

Almost Perfect. I was rather sceptical at first, as I have tried other Business Card Apps, and have been using BC Reader for some time now, to mixed success. The cards that would never recognise in other apps, like dark cards with reverse type (White on Black) worked near to perfection, most cards need a little tweaking, but far less than I was expecting, and far less than other apps I use. There are a few niggles here and there, like recognising what country the contact is from, it assumes that all the business cards I scanned are from contacts here in Australia, rather than from the US, Europe or Asia which is more common to me, but nothing I am sure some feedback to the developer can't solve, they appear quite responsive to updates and new features. I tested this on the iPhone 4, and the image capture quality is excellent, although it did confuse vertical and horizontal layouts, but after capture you can rotate the image around if needs be. Is it worth $7.99, probably yes, I would think it is worth at least $4.99, so an $8 app is not too far out of the ballpark, given it's accuracy over other solutions I have tried. Summary, if you need an app to capture business cards, and don't want to spend a lot of time editing them, then this is the solution for you.

Worth every cent!. When opening the application for the first time I was amazed at the user interface. So simple, beautiful and easy to use, making great use of the retina display. The camera is very accurate, fast, and again easy to use from the word go, no complications whatsoever. It supports all kinds of orientations and automatically focusses for the best photos. The settings, help menu and other options within WorldCard are of the plenty, and the ability to simply take a photo and add a contact with the tap of a button, and then view it within Cloud storage is amazing. The is 100% a MUST HAVE app for anyone who is constantly entering contacts, or for anyone who wants to experience what their iPhone can truly do.

Must Have App!. Now I have this app I honestly don't know what I did without it. It is easy and efficient and the convenience is just fantastic. A must have app for anyone serious about being professional.

Unrecognized missing feature of the iPhone is here. I once owned Sony Ericsson P990i before and frequently used the feature offered by this app a lot. Now that I can use it again on iPhone is just nice. No more manually inserting contacts info manually on address book again. The other nice thing is that you can actually choose which info to put in what field which is great. The software doesn't just assume but let you correct stuff as well.

Buy. This. App.. OMG. This is the most fantastic tool for business users. Exceeds expectations in every way. Hardly ever inaccurate (a small mistake in every 10 or so cards processed). And, lets face it. Nothing is more impressive than taking a business card over the meeting table and going "click", thanks :) I'm in the technology business and that one never fails to win my clients over. Get it, you'll love it.

Good but Email Signature Capture no longer works. Have been using for several months and have found it good. But latest version has a bug when you try to paste in a copied email signature it only displays help instructions which if dismissed take you back to the initial screen. Very frustrating. Hope it is fixed soon!

Easy to Use and Accurate!. If you are like me and just can't be bothered to type in every piece of information from a business card then this app is for you! It took about 1 minute to take a picture of the business card and import the information into my contacts. I am going to go through many of my old business cards that have been sitting around so I can ensure that I have all of my information digitally saved. It;s really cool.

Amazing!. I've always thought that having digital business cards would be a good idea, WorldCard Mobile makes it a GREAT idea! It's easy to use, scans perfectly, every time and i haven't even started on how amazing the sorting is! It sorts the business cards you've scanned into individual contacts! even if it doesn't use your contents list, it means you can keep work and play separate! I would recommend this app to anyone that has a ridiculous amount of business cards to keep track of or if you want to digitise your contacts. All in all a terrific app that I will probably use for YEARS to come!

Extremely useful app!. I use this app to store all of my business cards, it is so much more efficient and useful to have all the business contacts in your iPhone. Obviously the best feature is OCR, where it automatically inputs all the data from the card and saves it as a contact in your phone. It is truly a time-saver and extremely useful. I recommend this for anyone who needs to manage a lot of business contacts.

Efficient and Effective. I've used a number of card recognition apps and they generally aren't all that accurate. I have been extremely impressed with the accuracy of this app, it's very effective. Sometimes even picking up stuff within logos which I wouldn't have thought it would be able to do, quite impressive. I highly recommend this app as a business card recognition app, my only critique on it is that they could have a much better logo, it cheaps their image a bit and detracts from an awesome app!

The best business card reader but still buggy re: Australia. This is the best card reader that works exclusively on your iPhone (there's another great app that sends your card to an external server for processing which is more accurate). However all my Australian business cards come up with the USA as the country of origin even though the scanned business card clearly says Australia. That has to be fixed! But the killer ace that this app has is that it enables you to click on the number they suggest and it allows you to compare it with the number on the original business card scan in real time. That is VERY useful. Look forward to the bug fix - I'll then give this 5 stars.

What a great app!. Perfect for keeping a digital filing system of all your business contacts. The OCR works perfectly every time and the email signature capture is a great idea. The app backs up your contacts to your google account with ease. Never had a problem with this yet!

Very Handy. I have been looking for an app for a while now that would help manage my contact database…… and now i have found it. WorldCard is fantastic, it works best in good light environments and captures all of the contact details with ease. I have only had to do minor tweaks to a few imports out of the two hundred i have captured. This is by far the best app i have found for managing my contacts without having to manually type all of the details in saving me hours. Well done on making such a needed contact management tool keep them coming

Great idea. Nicely executed. Room to improve.. All doubts about the capabilities of this app were quickly dismissed after the first hour of putting it through its paces. This is one app that Apple should ship with the iPhone and iPod Touch. Just brilliant. I was stunned to see how quickly and accurately it parsed details from physical business cards into the iPhone's contacts database. Field-by-field, the app automagically drops details from business cards into the correct section - including website URL and email address details. Even the company logo can be selected and added. It also retains a copy of the acquired card image to build a natty electronic version of a 'Rolodex'. Nice. I managed to get it to slip up twice - both with (ugly) business cards which featured curvy, stylised fonts. It did its best, but 'o', 'c', 'b' & 'd' all got a little bit muddled with the OCR. But just 2 cards in 56 (wildly varying designs) is still an impressive result and misreads are easily corrected.

Pretty good. Works well if you take the time to snap a decent photo. Would be 5 stars for me if the card holder function worked within the app. I get around this by syncing / exporting to Google contacts (however the image doesn't make it to Google).

Settings need an update. Currently all addresses entered default to USA as country. If that's good for you, then buy. If you live in another part of the world it's troublesome and annoying to fix something every time you enter a card that should be picked up from the Settings tab (but is not even an option). Other than that problem (which adds ~15 seconds to adding every new contact), it's quite good.

Nienieneur. Too easy! Worked well on first two cards. Impressive. . . But only one problem. It will insist in appending "United States" to the end of a business address despite Australia being clearly written on the card. Hope they fix this simple bug soon.

the best. ok, maybe its naive to say its the best, because i haven't tested all of them, but i tested 3 different free business card ocr, and not only is this one the best, but it has anti shake, and it allows you to crop and RE-RECOGNISE certain parts of the business card, this is a very useful feature that non of the other two ocr had. in terms of accuracy, with proper lighting, i think its "almost" 98% accurate for me so far, and i tested it on business cards with very small writing using a 3Gs. There are not many other features, but what it does, it does very well. The ability to re-recognise parts of a card, reassign this new recognised text to any field, i think this feature alone sets this app apart from the rest, and it allows mistakes to be rectified quickly and painlessly... i would definately recommend this app...

Impressive. A fantastic idea, and surprisingly good at consistently picking up information from cards and placing the right info in the right fields, regardless of the layout of the card. Doesn't always pick up everything, but comes very close most of the time, and is a big time saver for adding new contacts. Some parts of the interface don't seem completely intuitive, with some parts feeling a bit outdated, but for the most part the user experience is good. Could also be priced a little cheaper, but for a user who receives a lot of business cards, is definitely worth the investment.

Amazing. This is by the most amazing app I have used in a while. I collect allot of business cards in my job an has now streamlined my storage and datacapture straight into my contacts list! Thank you!!!

Best app present from my wife. I'm amazed how well this application works. I'm totally impressed. A must especially if part of your job is to meet clients and stakeholders and you can quickly store their information without having a pile of business cards in your wallet or compendium. It also works well when reading email signatures.

Finally, A productivity app that actually helps.. As with all technology, you cannot expect 100% accuracy. Having said that WorldCard Mobile comes very close. I liked the concept, but was sceptical that it world actually work. In my testing, A huge majority of the cards I captured were flawless. The only card that didn't work properly at all was one almost blackened in coffee stains. The rest only required very minor edits to achieve perfection. What I really like is the email signature capture, This had not a single fault and I find to be a very useful tool. Even requiring minor edits, This method is much faster and easier than manually entering contact details and certainly more efficient than a card file. David.

No better than the free ones on offer. I have used 2 free ones and got tired of the limit per day that I could use given the number of cards I receive regularly. I bought this app on the reviews and its speel and am wishing I had kept my $7.50 and just persisted with the free app I had. I am having to over type almost everything even though the scanned image that displays after I have taken the pic is crystal clear and the details that display when I am correcting are clear as well. Everytime I try to Select a "Wordcard contact" the app closes on me loosing all of the data I have just corrected and not saving the contact. Very frustrating and annoying, save your money, dont make my mistake

Very Useful!. Recently changed jobs and had a very large stack of business cards from new contacts. Was dreading the manual entry into Exchange and iPhone but now it is so easy to upload business cards into my contact. One click photo and your off and running. Very accurate. Had trouble with foreign cards, app crashed a few times on those. Great app and great time saver.

A must-have time saver. This is a really great app for any professionals dealing with customers day to day. Very accurate and speedy way of obtaining contact details from business cards. Only limitation is that information within addresses (eg street name/postcode) is not distinguished. Highly recommended.

The best card reader available. This is a really great app. I travel extensively get given a lot of business cards in my line of work, and it's great that I can now scan them and get the critical details without have to manually type the information into my address book. A real time-saver. The OCR technology is very, very accurate and I've only had to manually change a few details with about three dozen cards I've already scanned. I highly recommend this app if you're in business.

Amazing app!. I was amazed when I stumbled upon this app! The amount of features that popped up the second I opened this app, amazing. I have to say It saves me a lot of space considering the amount of business cards I have to keep up with, the app saves me so much time from me brushing through the cards on my desk to missing it and having to go through it again, well this app allows me to find the right person I need first time around and with the touch of a button! I tell you what; this app is definitely worth every single cent! This app accurately reads the card and saves the details and automatically adjusts the image so it isn’t blurry which can save you time from taking multiple images, it has easy to follow detailed instructions on how to use this app so if you’re new to the iPod, iPhone or iPod it doesn’t matter the instructions are easy to follow. Another feature I love about this app is how it neatly scans the card you want and recognizes the text with ease! It doesn’t matter if the image is distorted it has a feature to Un-distort any Image! So my overall impression of this app? Absolutely love it and I would highly recommend it to other people, there are so many features to this app I am still yet to discover more amazing features! Keep up the great work PenPower Technologies!

Surprised. After mucking around with card readers for the better part of two years, I bit the bullet and sprung for this app. I cannot believe how accurate the thing is. Well done guys.

Excellent text recognition. Certainly easy to recognise texts, with very small error rates (l becomes i or f sometimes). Agree with comments about the need to update graphs for retina display. Sometimes it doesn't recognise Australian state. But certainly easy to correct the format and any spelling mistakes. Top job for the dev, very easy and straightforward to use.

Very impressed. First 3 cards scanned were 99% perfect . This is a great package which has excited me enough to write my first review. The only addition I would suggest to to have an option to export to main contacts or into a seperate group. Otherwise a great package !

Very professional, easy to use and upload. This app has let me take photos and throw out all of my business cards with an easy point and click solution which then uploads my contacts to my phone and also google contacts which is great. If it didn’t pick up a detail it was easy to use to select the relevant section of the card instead of having to type in info. Worked fantastically! Now it is done I will be just pointing and clicking when I get new cards and having to store them and potentially lose important contact people in the future. Highly recommended! Five stars

Great app! Huge time saver!. Just purchased it and tried it out on all the business cards I had floating around in my wallet. With the exception of a few small details (middle initials in names etc) it worked great. Photos came out very clear - even though my usual iPhone snaps come out blurry (too much caffeine, alas i will never be a great surgeon). Very good app for business people on the move who are sick of carrying a business card wallet, or people who don't have time to completely fill out contact details in their phone when they receive business cards. Also offers integration with a contact manager program from the same developer - useful if you aren't happy with apples standard contacts manager. All round - very useful app and a huge time saver.

Such a great application. I have started a photography business and needed a quick and efficient way of taking clients and suppliers business card details. This app has made my life so much easier and saves me so much time. It places the photographed details into my iphone contacts for easy reference. So far it has worked great. David Oastler

Unbelievable how easy this is. I downloaded this having doubts, but it's incredible. It blew my mind that I was able to copy signatures from emails to the iPhone clipboard, then import it into my contacts within a matter of seconds. I tested it on some business cards as well, and it was too easy. If you're regularly networking with others, this is a must have app for you.

An essential business tool. This app is one if a handful that have become truly essential as part of the mobile office that is my iPhone. It gets the details right the vast majority of times and is easy to correct when it doesn't. I don't need to store business cards anywhere - let alone carry them around in my pocket until I get back to the office.

Sensational product and amazing accuracy. I have 11 full pages of apps and this is by far the most usefull tool on my iPhone now. Make sure you get good light on the card and hold the cam square and still. Do not believe the whingers, if you take a good pic the results will amaze you, if you take a hopeless one you shouldn't whinge.

Perfect Tandem. When I downloaded WordCard Mobile and realised just how easy it was to use my iPhone on the go to scan in business cards and organise my cards, I didn't understand as yet how useful it would be to let WordCard Mobile work in tandem with WordCard Contacts. Not only is the contact app able to search by criteria, it can display maps, let you ring the contact from the app, add your contacts to favourites, etc etc. Each application is a good business tool, the two together are a great business tool.

Does all that it claims.. A steady hand in clear non-reflective light works best. Once I worked that out I was able to pump cards into my contacts very easily and quickly. Some cards that had been designed with fancy fonts or close spacing were obviously a little tricky, but the app has native editing facilities so that was no bother. And the email signature capture is thoughtful addition. Overall, great app.

I like it!!. Read the macworld review. It is the best app of card reader. Scan several cards with my iPhone4. Very quick and accurate! Almost 90%. Neat design makes it as my favorite business app! Easy and friendly to use. I like it!!

Helpful, but a bit pricey!. Good: One of the best OCR technologies I've seen. Easy to use interface and great added bonus of shake reduction in camera scan mode. Text recognition is fairly reliable. Bad: No multi-tasking support (Update: Multi-tasking support added in version 3.1.0). OCR occasionally misinterprets text fields and cannot decipher it. Also, the app is quite pricey at $8.

Great app. This is a really great app for storing contact information and business cards. I love the iCloud storage support. It is very good that it shares contact information with WorldCard HD (for iPad/iPad 2) through iCloud and Dropbox storage services. Awesome app

Excellent app. This is the best card reader I ever try. This app give you every time right info and it is too easy to use and super fast. And shareing contacts with cloud is brilliant! This app is must have for anyone who is in business or not. This guys realy know how to make a GREAT app. I definately recommend this app.

geat app especially with new update. this app was great when i first got it but know with the latest update it is fantastic, especially with the additions of the Card Holder and other excellent modifications. though i would like to see the ability to rotate/edit a picture when you take one for the contacts image. If had that would be perfect. Keep up the great work guys

Best Business App IN THE APP STORE!!!!. This App is simply amazing, i love it. It's very user Friendly, helpful and helps keep your life organized. It's the best business card app in the app store and is just amazing how simple and easy it is to use. It looks very slick and stylish so it feels very high tech. It changes the whole new way to add a contact as well now you have all their info and business cards and everything it is such a good app and can't believe i didnt stumble across it earlier. The app will save you hours in time and is so easy to keep track of all your business contacts. THANK YOU WORLDCARD MOBILE for creating such a great app!!!

On my 3GS. NOT 3G.. This is an awesome app, and it works as you would LIKE to believe it would - only it does! If that makes any sense? If you are in the business of attaching the dollar value to your time, and who is not? Then this will save you a pile of time, if the person you are dealing with does not have an electronic VCF handy. ;=) NOTE THAT IT IS SUGGESTED THAT IT DOES NOT WORK AS WELL ON THE 3G WITHOUT ADDITIONAL COMPONENTS. So if you have a 3G maybe negative comments should be qualified..?

This used to be a great app not anymore. It’s a shame this used to be a really good job. This app used to be great!

President. Great App - I would rate it as 4.5 out of 5. For traveling internationally and inputting card it's fantastic!

Incredible!!. I cant believe how much time this app saves me

Great app. Best contact app. Works great. Great value. Please input merge contact application would be awsome.

Business card scanner. Excellent Ap...now i can scan all my business cards and throw them away!

Very Cool!. You can take a photo of a business card and it adds the info to your contacts list! Fantastic!

Owner. The best card app I have ever used

Garbage garbage careful. These /$:$;@/-" updated a version which deleted all yes all as in every single card. I had an old backup on Dropbox. As if not enough garbage, in a bonehead move they removed Dropbox from a sync option. No help at all from that useless company other than "thank you again for your support and understanding" what load of /$:@;"/"; stay away use anything else

Great scanning!. It scans well and even in poor light. And it puts everything in the right place, almost. Better than all the other card scanners out there.

The best so far. I've tried other readers and this is the fastest and the most accurate. Two improvements would make it even better: 1. Allow the notes field to be edited in the app. After scanning a card, I have to use a diiferent app to add a note about the contact. 2. Keep a copy of the scanned card, not just dumping it into the photo app. Thanks!

Fantastic app. After 15 years in sales, I FINALLY have an easy way to get contact info out of my pocket and all those business cards and into digital form. Works as advertised. It also works well as a way to take an email signature from my inbox and transform it into a contact.

Great stuff. Found this app by chance. Was very pleasantly surprised by the ease of use. Scanned several cards with no editing whatsoever !!! Only issue was with cards with very light print. Had to tweak a couple of fields but overall very pleased with the app.

Great!. A very handy app, the recognition isn't 100 percent but very good and saves a lot of time.

Very handy and good service. Great app that remove the tideous writing of all the info of a business card. Also they provide service after you bought their app and help you if you face a difficulty. In my case it only happen once in 2 years and they were quick to provide help. R.Jodoin

Extras req'd. You need a gmail acct and world card software to sync contacts over other platforms. Not sure why it doesn't just link up with iPhone contacts.

App No Longer Works. This app used to be 5 out of 5, but after I updated to IOS 8 the app no longer functions properly. It freezes in Edit mode now after using the camera to take a picture of the business card. I assume it’s because their are some bugs to iron out so it works properly with IOS 8. Hopefully Penpower fixes it quickly.

It works. Works very well for me on iPhone 4S

World class!. I love this app cuz i dun need to carry a big book of biz cards around with me! It's so simple, it's amazing! I love it :)

Very Useful!. This app works very well for taking a photo of a business card and (sometimes with a bit of editing for unusual fonts and layouts) entering the data into a Contacts card. It’s on my front screen!

waste of money for ipod touch. Does not work for touch gen 4 so do not waste your money. Maybe the camera on the touch is the issue as I read good reviews for the iphone... cannot scan a single card absolutely useless!

Comment. Downloaded iOS 7 and app doesn't work anymore!

Not bad. Works relatively well to scan business cards into your contacts. Worthwhile for the price.

Rocks!. This app rocks. I like simple and straight app. WorldCard is what I want. Easy, accurate reader!

Great portable card reader program. I was at a workshop when I got this program and it allowed me to upload the business cards of all of the people I met each night. It is simple to use, and does a pretty good job scanning. I always go in and modify as needed, but usually those are quite minor. The only thing that would make this program even better is if you could attach your categories to it. It would be useful if it coincided with my categories, so that I can tag contacts right from the program, but it's not that big a deal. Overall, it's quick, efficient, and I'm quite happy with program.

Good OCR. I knew this app for long time from my friend. Got the chance to try last weekend. It Worked great. Most cards were saved in my contact without major editing. Good!

Works well most of the time. Can not edit phone#'s, if misread; would be nice to have indication on record -that an image of the back of the card exists. Would be even nicer if record could show information from both front AND back of card. Overall very useful and easy to use

DO NOT PAY OR DOWNLOAD THIS APP. You need to seriously read thir privacy policy because this app will allow them to gather A LOT of private information from your device. I am disgusted with this practice!! DELETE!!!!!

Consultant. This program is wonderful. One of the best. I would be overwhelmed with paper cards if not for this program. Greatly appreciated!!!

Best App for those in business!. Gone are the days of lugging around binders or stacks of business cards! Easy to use, accurate and a real time saver. I love this app!

Works great. Just tried 8 different cards. Recognition ranged from 100% correct with no editing through to minor edits required for small italicized text. In all cases more accurate than my typing anyway. Very impressive recognition and easy to use I took shots in good light with a 3gs phone To the guy who has a 3g phone - it clearly says you need 3gs not 3g ...or else u need to buy extra software.

Not perfect but better than the rest.. Generally gets most of the data correct. If its too fancy of a card it may not pick everything up. I'd say get it but review ant text that is small as it may make an"i" an "l" for example if the text is small. Cheers!

I've tried them all!!!. Best one on the app store. Sometimes it does mixed the similar shape letters, but come on!!! It is a business card scanner that cost under 6 bucks. Great product. Keep up with the updates.

Still works great!. reliable and functional, still!

An excellent idea, but lacks some accuracy. WorldCard Mobile is an ingenious idea, storing your business cards and public relation contacts on a digital “business card holder” on your smartphone or tablet. The concept of this app is to scan a business card using the camera, and then it will “automatically detect” the name, company, address, phone number and other various aspects on the business card. It then stores it on your smartphone for easy storage and lookup when you need it. Overall, this app has a good concept and purpose, but does not always seem to be accurate. I found it a bit of a pain that the app does mix up names with companies, or sometimes doesn’t even recognize an aspect at all.

Awesome. Time saving! Great value. Love how it merges to all of my contact lists.

Very Useful. Just bought it, first card (difficulty level = medium) worked perfectly, even translated the job title in english (that was in french) and merged with an existing contact to update... Way cool! Tried again, this time with settings to "French" and it got the job title written in french with accents... Tried second card, worked 100% That's a keeper.

Solid App. Could use some tweaking. I tried this app on 12 different business cards. 7 worked perfectly. It seemed that the cards it had the most problems with are those which have raised lettering. On flat cards it worked perfectly. The feature that I like the most is the email signature import feature. Simply copy someone email signature, open WorldCard Mobile, click the Signature icon, paste and export. It's nice not to have to manually input someone's information. Overall, good app. I think $5.99 is a bit pricey however.

Nice app! Works with iOS 4. Upgrade my iPhone to iOS4. It still works great! Love it!

Works great. Works great

Business Cards Made Easy!. Keep your business associates and acquaintances close with WorldCard Mobile! With Optimal Character Recognition, extracting text from images has never been easier – in this case, extracting contact information from business cards right into your native contact list found on your device! Additionally, 16 languages are recognized. Contacts can be managed easily especially now that synchronization with Google Contacts is now possible and done with a seamless transition. QR codes are also supported and the app also allows for iCloud and Dropbox support! Last but not least, email signatures are easily captured and added to your contact lists. All in all, WorldCard Mobile facilitates importing contact information through business cards and adds a fine touch of professionalism!

President. Great.. Work well It is what the doctor ordered The best

Tech Sales. Extremely handy tool for the business traveler to quickly and accurately log contacts!

Disappointing. The first two cards I used did not turn out. Crystal clear photos were taken but to no avail. Every field needed to be edited because of gibberish symbols throughout. Doesn't distinguish fields properly, and jams the whole name (and subsequent credentials - B.A., M.D. etc) into the first name field. Pretty bad.

Great and Useful. I have tried other similar apps and this one is by far the best one. My wallet was getting a bit fat with all the business cards I had so it's nice to store them all in this app. The recognition worked great and I didn't have to edit anything. Thanks!

Works fine. Do what it needs to do

The very best. This app works amassing, just one of the very best. Worth every cent

For $5.99 - Brilliant. Like everyone I have a stack of business cards a mile high. The reviews on this app were better than the other card readers so I thought that I would give it a try. Great app. Accurate, fast and super simple to use. I would agree with one of the other reviewers, the app does seem to have some trouble with textured and/or raised lettering. I also have found it has trouble with fancy serif fonts that are closely spaced. But other than those minor issues, it has done a great job with 95% of the cards that I put through it in the last few days.

Great app for a business man. This app made my life easy, I used to lose my clients cards, but not anymore, amazing app.

Sweet App. Super functional, reliable and quick. 100% of all fronts. I highly recommend!

Great App - not perfect.. But close!. The app does what it says it does. It's very easy to use and I'm happy with it's performance. That said its not 100%. Almost never does it capture the company name correctly when it's embedded in a logo. If the font is overly decorative it may cause recognition issues. I would say that about 55% of the time it enters the data error free and about 15% of the time I have to go in and modify more than 3 fields. Much better performance than the competition. The signature feature is nice but unless the persons email address is in the signature it will not capture that. Would be useful if they added a feature to grab the (from) email when it copies.

Amazing!. There is nothing better than having an app that does what it's supposed to perfectly! WorldCard takes the info off business cards and into my contacts flawlessly. I was really amazed that it could read many different fonts and many different layouts on a bunch of cards I had laying around! The ability to read QR Codes makes this app a utility necessity for any iPhone user. The features in this app are endless, from using iCloud to store the contacts to being able to use it 16 different languages... Get it!!

The best business card reader/scanner I've used!. I have tried quite a few of the business card readers in the app store and I was never satisfied with the results until I downloaded WorldCard Mobile. It does exactly what I was looking for it to do and it does it quickly. All the information from the cards ended up exactly where it was supposed to. It works flawlessly with business cards that are shiny as well as those that have different colors in them, which is where I would find most issues with other apps. I love that it has iCloud and dropbox support too.

Buyer Beware!!! Disappointing OCR Recognition!!. The OCR on this app is terrible. Many times it can't recognized the fields of the business card, (e.g. names, tel, fax, etc...) If the business card is a fancy one, forgettabou it!!!! It'll give you all kinds of weird characters. The app needs to improve it's OCR, and the program won't allow you to add new fields when you are making corrections before you export into the iPhone, you have to export the info into the phone then you can add fields within iPhone contact application. This app is not worth buying unless they improve the software recognition, and be flexible when adding new fields; the business card has to be a standard format or it won't import the info properly. DON'T BUY!!!!

Goodbye pile of business cards!. I've been staring at a pile of business cards on my desk for over 6 months wrestling with the notion of buying a business card reader. I just couldn't convince myself to spend the money on a specialized scanner I was going to use sporadically. I downloaded this application onto my 32GB iPhone 3GS and am extremely pleased with the results. I've plowed through about 1/2 my cards and had to make only minor tweaks to a few card entry fields. It works great!! I have my MobileMe account active and populating both my iPhone and my work PC with the contact information as each is scanned. I couldn't be more pleased with the results. Pros - - Recognizes various card types (plain text and more graphical types) - Easy editing to make adjustments when necessary Cons - - The program has closed a few times for unexplained reasons

For $6, barely 2-stars. Great app for a buck or two, but certainly not $6 or even $4. Can't multi-task so don't switch away from it while entering a new card or you'll have to start over again. I tried over 30 cards and had to edit every single one... most required multiple edits. It won't properly save to your Exchange contacts for syncing- I tried three phones I have on the same account. No go. Save your $6 and buy something that works. Just enter manually and snap a shot of the card with your camera and use it as a contact pic if that's functionality you want. You'll actually save time.

Really Impressive. I've tried several business card readers, and I've always been disappointed. This WorldCard reader is amazing in its ability to actually decipher what is on the business card. It isn't foolproof--you still need to proofread, but it is highly accurate. I'm not sure how they did it, but the app is well worth the $6.00. I scanned and integrated into my contacts, roughy 60 business cards in two hours time. It would have taken much longer to do so manually--something that I've been putting off for years. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Impressive business card scanner. WorldCard Mobile is impressive which developed with some extended features. This is one the best business card scanning applications so far developed for iPhone. It is flexible and easy to use, just capture business card images with the iPhone's camera and you're done. It uses Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology which is fast to transfer information to users native contacts, from business cards. The interface is nicely designed, overall an essential app that I love to use.

Beyond amazing app!. Ok for the people that are not sure what this app does, it will let you take a picture with your idevice of any business card and then index it for you on that same device. Then at a later date you can access the cards. The amazing thing is all you do is take a picture!!! That is it. It will automatically put all the information for that card in the right places for that contact. Can even merge it with a contact if you have that person already as one. Simply amazing software and hands down one of the best utitily apps in the store now.

Finally for iphone. I used to be a die hard windows mobile user. I bought HTC smartphones purely so I can benefit from the Worldcard mobile applications. I hesitated switching to the iphone becuase this application was missing but the folks at Worldcard let me know its coming so I took the plunge. I am ecstatic the application is on iphone and it actually looks and feels much better than the PC version. To me its like the mobile phone: How did I leave without it before?

Needs work. I don't write reviews often, but am compelled to say save your $6. Would be better if it kept the pic of the card, front & back, in a coverflow form. At least then you could refer back to the original when you found that it did not transpose the info correctly. I found it easier and less timely to just enter the info in manually. So many cards were not read properly, even in great light, it was more time consuming using this biz card reader. I wish I had the results many others did, perhaps many of the biz cards they receive are basic business designs. In my line of work, I get many abstract cards, hard for the thing to read. My advice, save the $6 until it keeps the originals in a nice coverflow Rolodex type thing. Otherwise, you have nothing to refer to if you find it made a mistake. Best of luck.

Useful, time-saving app!. Great app for lazy people like me who can't stand entering dozens and dozens of contacts into their address books. Really easy to use interface: just point and shoot the business card, hit the "Recognize" button, and voila! Like magic, all that pesky info is added to a new contact. You can even merge said business card's info with an existing contact. The Photo and Signature features are also pretty great. FYI, every now and then, the app will have trouble converting the photo you've taken to text. E.g. Spelling "Capitol" as "Capital" but generally, the errors are minimal. Sure, the app's a bit pricey, but it's definitely a time-saver, and time is money, right? :)

Great app for business contacts!. This is a great app! The accuracy is excellent for business use and the features are the best I have found. All you have to do is take a picture of the business card and it instantly puts the information into categories. You don't have to type anything and the phone numbers and email address are clickable. The sort feature is also nice since I have over 100 contacts. Nice work!

Worth it!. Works as advertised. Very useful! I like the cover flow view of my biz card photos, and exports to any contacts that I have configured on my iPhone, including my Microsoft Exchange contacts. Make sure to take photos in good light, and have patience with cards that have fun graphics or are otherwise "interesting". OCR doesn't like those "interesting" cards, but tap on the field and the app shows you that part of the photo that was used for that OCR operation, so you can see it yourself and make whatever edits are needed.

Great for short cutting contact inputs. I have tried other methodsof getting business cards into my contacts and have found WorldCard to be the most efficient. I don't really use the contacts list in WCM, rather I prefer to export all the contacts into my personal contacts. I like having the business card AND e-mail signature functionality. I often pull up an e-mail on my iPhone and copy and paste the signature to add the person to add them to my contacts - even though I am sitting at my laptop.

Does the job well. With this app business cards only takes 20to 90 seconds to "import". The application's scanning is 2 seconds the rest of the time is proof reading and correcting for unusual card layouts and OCR errors (things like comma vs period). I'm with-holding the 5th star because it's not easy to remap text from one field to another. For example it might place Title in the Department field and the process of moving between fields could be better. I highly recommend this application even if you receive just a small amount of business cards.

Summit Management. Very amazing and convenient way to load new customers into contacts. The accuracy is good and hopefully it will even improve over time, easy to edit scanned business card information prior to saving. Love being able to snatch company logos and/or photos from the business card, great extra feature seeing these logos and photos pop up on my phone with new incoming calls.

Best one out there. I've used several other business card reader apps and this one has been the best I've seen so far. I'll probably stick with using only this one. I have to do minor corrections on some business cards (i.e. the difference between i, 1, and l sometimes isn't recognized in someone's name) but for the most part it's nearly perfect in scanning cards. Having them exported into my contacts is absolutely fantastic since I then have it sync with my google contacts through itunes. Never need to keep business cards lying around ever again!

Not perfect but worth the money. I've used it with about 10 cards. It does a decent job at what is a difficult problem; parsing a bunch of sort-of structured data that is displayed in a fairly unstructured way. Be careful to follow the instructions about how to line it up with the card and make sure it's image it right-side-up. It's a pretty decent value if you're someone who gets a lot of business cards; much cheaper than a dedicated card scanner and you've always got it with you.

Superb . I had been looking for an app like this for ages. Took me just less than a minute to scan in each card from my huge pile and accuracy was over 95%. Actual recognition time was approx 2 seconds. On the odd occasion there was an error it was painless to edit. Suggestions:  Auto rotate the image when it is obvious it is 90 degrees off (ie recognition fails one way but not the other)  Optionally keep the scanned bitmap fields in an image library for those odd occasions there was a mistake that was missed and you want to go back  Allow more zooming on the logo photos - today you can end up with the card edge in the picture because you can make the logo big enough to crop it out Best 4 bucks I have spent - makes me very glad I bought a 3GS. Five stars  and 3 thumbs up 

Accurate. I have been using World Cards product for a number of years, starting out when I was using Windows Mobile in the pre-iPhone days. They have kept improving the product and were responsive when I did have an issue with the WM version. The only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars is that it does have some difficulty pulling a company name off of a card if it is in a very unique font or part of a logo. Still it's the BEST I've used or found.

Wow. I have the same brand scanner. Currently switch to iPhone4, and see this familiar name in app store. Download it without second thought. Because I have known this technology for a while. This app does the same thing, but much cheaper. I love it! Address and email are the important part of OCR. How to tell which one is better, check the address and email! Understanding these address and giving them right are not that kind of easy. WorldCard Makes it!

Great Scanner with rather complex features. I use this business card scanner since a long time and it is becoming more and more complex and less intuitive. The current version did change the default setting that cards are saved automatically to the iPhone contacts. Instead, it emphasizes the card holder and wants you to import all your contexts into it. It needed me quite a while to figure out what is going on. In the settings, "Save to iPhone contacts" needs to be on, and cards already scanned with the new version need to be exported manually through the send button.

Awesome Card App. Not just card it can store and read basically everything I need. I can pull info from card, QR, email, and move it into my contact list. It is pretty accurate reading cards. My card holder on my desk was full and it took only few minutes for me to go through and add it to the contact. I was being lazy manually entering and only use to enter the one I need. But with this app, I am fully digital. App is very easy to use as well. Love it and highly recommend it.

Great, but not perfect. I have used a variety of different business card scanners over the years, and I think this is far better. Yes, there still are some recognition errors, but not an overwhelming amount of them. The app has saved me a lot of time, and I have recommended it it to numerous colleagues that use it. I'd give it 5 stars except for the fact that there are those occasional recognition errors and because I can't find any type of users guide/trouble shooting tips in the app itself. If you are in a line of work where you get a lot of business cards and need to capture an retain the information then buy this app.

WorldCards Experence in OCR Shines Though. I wont go leaving trashy reviews for the other card readers Ive tried like Business Card Reader and CardSnap, thats not really my style - they all work to a point - but after looking for the perfect business card reader for a while (Im a sales guy with a love of apps) I have to say that WorldCard Mobile is simply #1. Not suprising since they have been around forever and do business card scanning for other phones, desktop computers and everything else you can think of.

Amazed!. This is exactly what I was looking for in a business card organizer! I love the way it rescans the card and crops and brightens the image. Nice clear pictures! It is amazing in the way it sets up the contact info so fast! I have tried the Linked In Card Munch and it takes a long time to enter the contact info. Also Card Munch would not let me edit the contact info. World Card is so easy to edit all of the contact info. Thank You for an amazingly accurate and useful app for organizing my business cards and contacts!!!

Very useful app. I swear this was my idea! A business card app where you can scan cards into your phone and have a virtual Rolodex, well they certianly did it a lot better than I was thinking! I have transferred all my Rolodex cards into this app and it's very useful, especially when I'm away from the office, I can always access it from the cloud! Of course this doesn't fukky replace my physical Rolodex, as it's always good to have a backup, but it's my go to one now. Well worth the investment.

Great App. Great App that works like designed. Very helpful for people that have to deal with business cards a lot. Some little improvements would be nice. First it would be great to get a setting that lets you enable the Anti-Shake Mode by default and not always press the button again. Second would be, to store the picture of the business card as picture in the contact if there is no other picture saved yet. Thanks!

Functional. I am always browsing applications looking for ones that are functional and efficient. This is one of those applications. Take a photo of the business card slowly and accurately otherwise, the program will not be able to recognize the various categories of information on the business card. It stores the business card information directly into your contacts by entering the name, job position, e-mail, and telephone number. automatically. Then the program discards the image of the business card.

Excellent and very impressive. I was very skeptical, but the performance of the free demo app was almost supernatural, so I dropped the dough and bought it. And it has never failed me. Except for misinterpreting a logo or two, this app is as magical as the iPhone itself. Sometimes I just stare at the card in disbelief at the app's ability to discern title from company and department. And it pretty much never flubs a phone number or the category. Top rating for business. It's so fun to take someone's card, capture it right in front of them, and hand it back with a "thank you!" But - don't do this with a Japanese person. :) Their cards are to be treated as the kindest gifts.

Does what it should do..... Nice application. I expected the functionality to be the IOS5 Address book, but I am glad it;s not. We get better apps when companies like this can innovate and be driven by each other towards great final products. It doesn't "always" get the OCR right, I would hope that it will improve in new versions. But had a minor issue and customer support got back to me promptly and solved the problem. (Perhaps I did not read the setup instructions closely enough) Good Company, good app. Looks like some of the others upload your contacts. That is a clear violation of ANY standard of privacy...

Where has this been all my life?. As a recruiter, I gain multiple contacts and cards on a daily basis. So far I had been uploading them manually for ages but this app has changed everything. It easily reads and translates all the information on a business card, uploading it to your phone and even offers a back up option. Also includes a QR reader so I don't need to use an entire separate App. This app saves me so much time, I can't find any flaws.

Incredible- I use with Act!. I did not know apps like this existed until I saw a colleague trying one about two months ago. I had a lot of cards from prospecting this week and wanted to make it easier. With this app I take a photo and it recognizes all of the information. One caveat, I change the "group" to 'iphone' from 'exchange'. When I sync all of the contacts come into Act! It cost $5.99. Considering I once spent $200 for CardScan this is a steal. Hope it helps you

I bought both. Bought this and Business Card Reader. WorldCard is better, hands down (I figured a $10 gamble for both was still better than $58-$250 for a card scanner and program). WorldCard should add the feature to add updated information to an existing contact and an option to use the picture of the card as the photo. OCR was very reliable and I had to make few corrections (far fewer than with Business Card Reader). Good program and well worth the $4 (hopefully I just saved you $6). Cheers.

works pretty well... but not the best one out there. This app works pretty well. It works on most cards and it only takes a few seconds. It's been able to scan all of the normal business cards I have, but it doesn't work with some of the more designy, colorful cards I pick up. It's definitely not a bad app, but I tried another business card scanner since that I like better- Econtact Pro. Econtact Pro has an office of people who manually enter the data so it can read any card. If you're looking for a business card scanner you should check it out.

Useful for my job. On a daily basis, I meet a lot of people and often attend different types of conferences. This app works perfectly for me! It is really helpful to keep my cards organized at one place. I just scan a card, and it fills all the info for me by categories. Nice, fast, and easy! Also I really appreciated the fact that I can adjust language. I have tons of cards in Russian, and the app did an amazing job there as well! Everything was rightly placed! I am happy with my purchase.

From messy to organized!. I get business cards all the time and most of them are on my desk in piles held together with broccoli rubber bands waiting to get keyed into my contact book. With this app, suddenly I have a clean desk and all those contacts in my address book. Super simple, very fast, super accurate. Highly recommend to any business professional who deals with a lot of cards and who doesn't have time to input them into their book.

SO easy to use!. I love this app! I'm a small business owner, and know how important it is to maintain a good network of clients, but it can be so frustrating sometimes to try to keep track of all the cards I'm given! Especially when attending conferences. This app really saves the day when it comes to keeping everything I need in one place - and it's so easy to use! You just take a quick snap (the app even allows you to steady the camera, so it comes through clearly), and it uploads into your nice little card collection. It'll even let you take a signature from an email and add that to your collection! I don't know how I've managed without it.

Wow. Really bad app.. I'm a savy tech person, so I'm dumbfounded at how many positive reviews there were for this app. After trying it on 10 business cards following the instructions to the letter, I deleted it and wish I could get my $5.99 back. Maybe I am spoiled since I've historically used card scanners that were plugged into my computer from Neato that scanner when we swicthed to Windows 7 so i thought I'd try one of these IPhone apps before buying a full blown replacement card scanner for my desktop. But honestly, the recognition is terrible with this app. I had to correct nearly everything, on all types of cards I input, from simple clean classic style cards to more graphically intense cards, this app could not read them with any consistency. Don't waste your money here.

Poor performer. This is a disappointing product. I work in the imaging industry and am quite familiar with this type of technology. I have an iPhone 4 and ran ver 1.3.0. First I tried out the free version and it worked acceptably well, before upgrading to the full pay program. Incredibly the free version performs MUCH better! I tested 5 legible cards in English with white backgrounds in good lighting. I got good crisp images and tested both versions. The free one recognized most text with a few correctable errors. The full version rejected 80% of what looked to be good images and had so many errors on the rest to be unusable. Given the otherwise good reviews here perhaps only the iPhone 4 app is buggy. Unfortunately the free version is too limited for normal use so I have to find a competitive product. Bummer that Apple app store makes no refunds.

One of my most used and important app's. Great App and product.

Business just got 500% easier. After Downloading the Lite version of WorldCard Mobile, I quickly found that this was the app for me. My friend game me a business card about a week ago that was in Spanish (which he speaks and I don't) I added the card, sent the info to him, and he told me all about it. WorldCard Mobile is very helpful in managing a business and contacts and I would highly recommend it to any businessperson living all across the world.

Unfortunately you need additional camera apps to use on 3G. Just downloaded as I have this app on my HTC Touch Pro. It is fabulous, but not on my iPhone. Read the help after taking multiple shots in daylight and seeing not recognized error over and over. It appears you have to use other software that can take better pictures. Defeats the purpose of using the app to snap pictures. I have another software on my iPhone, Tripod, that offers zoom and anti shake/ blur function and WorldCard still did not see the card taken by that program either. How frustrating. Money wasted. BTW, WorldCard could see the same card when used on my HTC Touch Pro the first time. I never have an issue with it on Windows Mobile. Save your money if you don't have the 3GS.

Best OCR card app yet. Really good OCR. Fast and easy to input cards, but can be a little bit confusing at first until you get used to it. Scanned about 40 cards in less than half an hour while learning to use the app. Some minor issues with the program: whenever you edit an existing card in the program it will routinely create the second entry into your normal contacts on the phone. It's a minor issue because you know you have to delete it after you get used to it. Also after Card is created and saved, you can't use the image of the card to choose a picture for that contact.

Convenient and useful. I can finally get rid of half the junk in my wallet. I'm chronically keeping business cards, not really knowing what to do with them because I don't have the heart to throw them away, but I also don't like carting around the hoard I've accumulated. This app works beautifully, just take a quick picture, do some minor editing (I only had to do this on the really creatively formatted cards though - so not unexpected), and easily categorize your collection of business cards. Now all that information is relevant, and easily accessible, not being forgotten in my purse. Great app!

Colossal Waste of Time and Money!. Another business card / contact app with useless features that doesn't do the basics welll or has the functionality that busy professionals with lots of contacts need. First, Apple's contact management system is weak and shouldnt be dependent on by anyone who values their contacts and uses them professionally. A good basic contact management system has a desktop or well-working web services that syncs with the IOS app and from which one can control what goes into Apple's contact system via sync or vCard exports that maintains the grouping. Groupings and easy correction of OCR misreads are a must. It's that simple. This program does none of this. Don't bother! And don't make the mistake of buying their Mac program - totally inadequate, buggy, doesn't work.

I want my money back. I purchased this app because I am running an international consultancy, and the advertised multi-language recognition features sounded perfect for me. But the reality is that this app is garbage. Almost every feature is riddled with bugs. I try to take a photo of a card using the app (probably the most central feature of any card scanning app), and it crashes. I take a photo of a card outside the app and import it, and it doesn't recognize even the most basic data. I try to delete a contact, and the app crashes. After 20 minutes of trying to simply get the most basic features to work at the most simple level, I finally just gave up. Frankly, if I were a developer for this company, I would be embarrassed. And if I were a project manager for this app, I would be looking for a new less mentally challenging line of work.

iPhone4..
