Great app, but.... I have used Olive Tree for years and it is awesome! I have found the “Resource Guide” functionality amazing and the ability to access thousands of titles and references is great. But users should be aware of a couple issues: If you build a large library of titles and reference works (many purchased), you will not be able to “share” these titles across accounts, even to another family member. The app says it supports “Family Sharing” but that does NOT apply to sharing a title, book or study reference with a different Olive Tree Bible account, such as a spouse. Yes, you can have multiple devices so why not just log into the same account? Well, unfortunately, all personal notes and highlights you create are likewise “tied” to one Olive Tree account. So, if your spouse wants his/her own notes or highlights, they have to create a separate account...and lose access to all the library resources you have accumulated. Great app, but be aware that these are two big issues.

This is my "Go To" Bible now…... I've tried a number of Bible Software programs (since the 80's) and Olive Tree's Bible reader on the iPad is now my main Bible. I was finally able to lay down my Thompson Chain (It's pretty worn out) and go with an electronic Bible that I can really use. This is what I take to church and Bible Studies now. For those complaining about KJV being the only 'Free' Bible available, there are several free versions. The ones you have to pay for are due to the publishers who own the copyrights on those versions. There are also a ton of extra-biblical books and reference materials. If it's in the public domain I believe it's free. Just downloaded the works of Flavius Josephus for free the other day. There are a few bugs that need to be worked out, but they really don't impede the use of the Bible. There is one thing I'd love to see….. My Utmost for His Highest, preferably with either recorded readers or the ability for the iPad to read to me (following along with the text). If it's in the store I surely haven't seen it. Excellent Bible study tool.

After many years, I came back to Olive Tree!. This app is amazing for anyone, regardless of their level of bible study. I am amazed how well the parallel window with notes for study tracks where I am in my bible. Recently, I downloaded a version of the Evidence Study Bible notes from the Olive Tree store. The print version of this bible is only available in the NKJV and the KJV (a little harder to find). I love both those versions but I found out the versatility of the Olive Tree software when I changed translations while reading a particular passage. So, while switching translations from, say, the KJV, ESV, NIV, and even the Message, the notes remain in the parallel window and track through what ever Bible you choose. Additionally, the ESV study bible through Olive Tree bible software navigates with its own parallel window of the massive notes and articles right there for clarification and study. I also have a Kindle version of the ESV study bible as well as the NIV study bible. The Olive Tree software is superior to navigating through the notes and study. There are negative reviews of study bibles through Kindle, and I would have to agree that they are glitchy. Olive Tree, like any other bible software, has its own personality, so to speak, but once learning it, its been a fantastic enhancement to my studies. Also, and most importantly, the app has amazing free features to test out. Well done Olive Tree.

Trusting Olive Tree. I use this app daily … for years. There seem to be a number of “upgrades” or improvements going on. My phone frustrated me for a week or so, but the app seems to be healing itself. Now my computer feels like the program is a bit sick … But it is getting better (back to being very useful). Today, I’m chugging along with my iPad. …. But I’m trusting that too will be getting better. The thing that is so fascinating about the app is the way it integrates each book, map, or directory so they all relate and link to each other. Once I got used to that, I was hooked. I always use my phone with either my iPad or computer. It’s like doubling the water pressure on a garden hose. It’s amazing. I start off hungry to learn more about the word and find myself consuming and understanding at ten times faster than just using my Bible. I realize that this technology has existed since the beginning of time and that we are just discovering it in God’s timing. It took me a while to get over the feeling that the Bible was all I needed and technology was not the Bible. But once I realized God has given both to us, I dove in. Don’t miss this wonderful way to know Him better. It will change your confidence (faith) for ever.

Olive Tree: the electronic blessing. I’ve had this app for over 10 years and have been a Christian for over 40. I’ve had to teach many a Bible study in my day. And any good Bible teacher knows that he has to delve into the Scriptures as best he can so he can convey the word of God to the listeners in an understandable, relatable manner. Back when I started I’d have to have a room full of books with Dictionary’s, commentaries, lexicons, etc. and in today’s busy world it is hard to have so much time to do such digging. Olive Tree, with all its hyperlinks, has made it so simple and quick to gather a multitude of information. Also when I sit in church listening to the sermon and want to take more notes I have my iPad on my lap soaking in and recording all that is said. It is so wonderful to be able to carry a whole library in one device the size of a short book. I have thoroughly enjoyed this app and I’ll be looking forward to many more wonderful years of enjoying it. By the way it is also a great thing to be able to download the classic books from commentators and lexicographers from the past. Thank you so much Oliver Tree. Keep up the good work for the kingdom of God!

Love it and it Works pretty well with voice over IOS screen reader for the blind. Hello. I love olive tree. A friend at church one day mentioned it. They said it was great. I was sure I had tried it before only to find it didn’t work with voice over (the screen reader for the blind on IOS) but I thought I would try again. I was pleasantly surprised to find it accessible enough. At times I end up getting lost and its not always clear how to get back to where I was. I hope accessibility with voice over improves. However olive tree has replaced logos for me as its a ton easier to use than logos. And reading content when I don’t get lost somewhere is a plasure rather than torture as it is with logos. It does take time to learn how to use the app however. And I am still learning where the two screens (resource guide and regular screen) divide. And I haven’t a clue if there is a way to close the resource guide screen when not needed. Olive Tree Bible app probably still needs a lot of accessibility fixes to make it great. But its pretty good and is fast becoming my favorite Bible study app of choice.

Good information, minor interface issues. I have been using this as my primary Bible app for decades. I value the ability to tap on words, and read the Greek and Hebrew and some versions. I appreciate the ability to easily open different translations and refe bc rence books. Do you ability to change the screen brightness helps when I’m studying late at night. So, important parts are good. A continuing point of frustration, though, is the highlighting. I have trouble highlighting just the words that I want. If the highlighting goes to a different page, a lot more than I want to highlight. It is difficult to delete highlighting, because you have to select exactly the same amount of text that is highlighted. I would also like a feature in which I can see a log of all the text that I have highlighted in each color. Maybe that is already available, but I have not found it. Overall, though, I appreciate this app very much and use it every day.

Haven’t found another app that begins to compare. I have tried several apps & being an old software programmer found this one to be the most flexible in how you read the Bible. My wife introduced me to the English Standard Version & I checked on this app & it was available. I prefer the study Bibles & it was available for purchase. I believe the NSV is available w/o purchase but I was willing to purchase the ESV Study Bible. When first installed I wanted to have both available in split windows but couldn’t figure out how to do it. Their support team was very helpful in how to enable this. After using it for a while I discovered I could read it via ‘swiping’ the pages of ‘scrolling’ the windows. I initially read them as ‘locked’ so the study pages would change as I read. However I discovered the best way to read them was w/o locking them together. They offer numerous daile devotional readings as well. They offer sales on Bibles, etc. frequently which enables you to purchase at a lower price. Excellent work on this app & happy to write a review. I don’t usually write reviews but this app deserves a review.

GOD’s Goodness. We are so blessed by Almighty GOD, that He saw fit to create us in this age. An age where the knowledge of our LORD and His holy scripture is available and accessible to more people than at any other time in human history. Praise GOD. He gave us His Word so that we might know Him in a personal way and grow in our understanding of His perfect love, grace, mercy and holiness. My personal growth can be directly contributed to GOD’s Holy Spirit allowing me to have access to many resources provided through Olivetree Bible study. With so many resources available through Olivetree, I can concentrate more fully on the attributes of our LORD, better pray that His will be do and focus my meditation on loving and praising the one true GOD, the Father, His Son and the Holy Spirit. Thank you Olivetree for providing the tools which have dramatically improved my walk with the LORD over these many years and the recent enhancements to notes is amazing. I can now include “Bold” and “underline” key elements of my notes. Your customer service staff is wonderful, and have always been very responsive and helpful, whenever I have reached out to them for assistance. Keep up the wonderful work you provide to your customers and may the LORD continue to bless you, your staff and your families.

Useful in so many ways. I really like this app. I like having my notes, bookmarks, etc available on all my devices. I also enjoy having a split screen where each "pane" tracks the other so the commentary for whatever I'm reading is always just on the other side of the screen. Very useful and very simple to use. I’ve been slowly adding to my library of resources over the last few years. I’ve tended toward those items that work with the resource guide. I don’t have to wonder whether a particular resource I’ve purchased has information relevant to the scripture I’m studying. The resource guide tells me. It’s like having a reference librarian constantly pointing out where useful information can be found in the books I own. This greatly speeds up and deepens my preparation to teach small group lessons. I was hesitant about moving away from a physical Bible but I’m so glad I found this app. Now my biggest worry isn’t “Where did I leave my Bible?” Instead, it’s “Does my iPad have enough charge to make it through Sunday School and church?“

Best Bible App There is!!. I love the Olive Tree Bible App! There is within it the ability to have multiple bookmarks so that you can read from the Pentateuch, the Books of History, the Books of Poetry, the Books of The Prophets, and from The New Testament all at once! If you do this, read one chapter per day from all 5 of the different Sections of The Bible, you will read the Old Testament 1.5 times per year and The New Testament 1.4 times per year. If you want to step your game up, you can read 2 chapters from each of the different genres in the Old Testament per day, and 3 chapters from The New Testament per day. Doing this will get you through The Old Testament 3.14 times per year, and through The New Testament 4.21 times per year! Thank God that I’ve finally found a Bible App that offers multiple translations and multiple bookmarks! YouVersion is also helpful, Faithlife’s Lexham English Bible app is good (a different translation than anyone else has), Bible Hub is fantastic if you really want a deep dive into each individual word of Scripture, R.C. Sproul’s Ligonier App is wonderful also. For those brave enough for Olde English, Matthew Henry’s Commentary app is good too! (Edit: Synching between iPhone and iPad versions is somewhat problematic.)

Problem with iPad?. Love the app and would have given 5 stars.....but often when I go on....I am not able to change bible versions (I have bought a few for comparison) and the screen goes white...cannot even change books and verses in the version that I have. Only way to fix is doing a hard reset of my iPad. Very frustrating! Especially doing this 3 or more times a day, would love it if you could fix this. iPad is pretty new and has lots of memory....just FYI. Thanks! Just deleted the app and am going to re-install it. Hope this will help. It is just annoying to go on multiple times a day and find I have to do a hard reset of my iPad. It was not like this the first week....or perhaps I am just reading and studying more... Would also live if you could get some better English language Hebrew translated Old Testament versions - better Tanakh bibles as well as maybe a Koran Torah weekly portion books. I do love the app and use it often during the day dispite some glitches.

Lisa from WV. This is by far the best study guide I have ever used in forever! Very user friendly, and the people behind the scenes are so helpful! Love, love, love it! I have everything I need to complete my studies in one place without closing out of one section and opening up another. I can highlight, make notes, use different books, etc. it is so user friendly, and such a great “digging deeper” app. I’ve tried others but always come back. My library of books have grown. Plus, to help you get started they offer you loads of free books. Thank you Olive Tree. This company is in it for the right reasons! To help us grow in God's Word! The only thing I haven’t found, is the ability to communicate with other Christians, Pastors, and/or anyone studying when questions arise on the spot while digging deep and trying to learn. Sometimes I can find what I’m looking for, but other times I can’t. I’d love to own more resources available, but financially, I’m unable to. I still love the app!

The Reasons We do This!. The reason I signed up for this was not what I Needed. The easy way, the quick way, nor the shortest way we’re Required of me. God as He does from us all Requires us to Seek His Kingdom and Righteousness First then other things will be added. But what I found out was that the part of the equation that are the Building Blocks of our Faith and especially our growth in Him have Nothing to do with Speed or Ease! Blazing through will only benefit you by the amount you Retain and Apply which won’t be much; because until you learn like I did that the amount of Your investment is the basis for your growth! Your growth will be in an equal amount to your Speed and Ease! Your Investment consists of: Your Availability Your Tenacity in Pursuit Your Time Your Talent Your Treasure and the Application of what God Taught Us! In order to Seek properly you must Invest Properly. Olive Tree has provided you with an excellent Research System if you Seek Him properly you will learn what The Lord God Almighty has in store for you as I did in this Season of my life, and in the Future as our Seasons Change! God Bless You, and Keep You and make His Face to Shine upon You, and be Gracious! Phil. 4:19!

Nothing else compares. Its the bible app you always wanted.. I’ve been using this app for several years now. I love the resources that tag to verses. I learn so much more with the commentaries and dictionaries I’ve purchased over the years. One new feature (or new to me) is the audio piece. Dear developer and who ever thought this up, THANK YOU!! I had been buying audio bibles by the book in iBooks ( way more expensive) because all audio bibles go by track numbers. -which drove me absolutely nuts! But you actually made it not only down to the book but to the verse! That was worth buying the complete audio bible all over again. Even in the iBooks, the smaller books were often lumped together so it was hard to simply listen to say Galatians. Best of all, I carry an entire library with me in my pocket where ever I go. I love to dig into the historical meaning of scripture. Especially when I don't understand something. This app lets me cross reference dozens of books in an instant and get a better understanding of it. This is great for those extra content study bibles like archeology study bible or thomspons chain reference. I dont have to worry about buying the right version of those now. I can point the study notes to what ever version I feel like reading. I still have a physical copy of the bible. But it collects dust now. This app is my go-to. Way to go for a superior app. Keep up the awesome work!

A Tremendous Resource. I am a minister who serves several Churches and The BibleStudy App by Olive Tree is one of my 2 primary sources of bible study. So many resources can be packed into this App, from different Bible translations, to commentaries, to maps, to dictionaries( do wish Webster’s 1828 was available). I use it on my laptop and on my iPad so I can take my entire scriptural library with me wherever I go. The only negative is the high cost of some of the resources, so Whenever I want to add a particular resource I wait until the resource goes on sale. The support staff has been great to assist me in straightening out a few minor glitches (3-mostly caused by me). The staff that assisted me was wonderful. Once after paying $40(I wanted it badly)for one of the resources, it did not show up on my purchased list on line. I wanted to download it to a tablet I was using at the time. A phone call to a customer rep solved the problem. Although I didn’t retain a receipt for my purchase, he added it to my purchased list so I could download it to my new device. Where else in this world would anybody accept the fact you weren’t trying to get over on them, and accept your word for it? I’m sold, and thank God for this resource. I use it everyday.

Intuitive Inspiration. Having cultivated a relationship with Christ through a diligent search featuring rigid structure, I initially felt the usage of phone applications for study and revelation of God’s Word to be an abomination. Only after the concept of Grace so beautifully washed over my spirit to totally usurp the dominant reign of condemnation that I had struggled under for many years, was I able to let my tattered KJV rest and embrace the use of such applications. Spiritually conditioned to search deep and expect the best was certainly a regimen that would prove worthy in the endeavor to find the application of choice, as shadow boxing never seemed a fruitful choice for due diligence. But, I loved the applications’ titling and, well, the doggone icon just looked cool. So, it was the first I chose. All joking aside, I have looked at others, but find the intuitive ease of this application’s navigation system to be the featured component that has caused me to retain it as a loyal reader’s companion. The upgrades along the way have never disappointed me and I utilize the copy/paste functions over multiple operating platforms and myriad software programs, quickly enabling me to send my own revelations to others or pose pondering to my spiritual mentors. Thank you, Olive Tree, for continuing your great work spreading the Word of God to our technical world.

Best of the Best!. I’ve used this app from the very start. It’s my absolute favorite Bible app. I’ve tried out others here and there to see what other features are offered, but Olive Tree exceeds them all on every level imaginable. It’s seems as though the developers and designers are also users. I say that’s because any feature you think you may want or stumble upon that you didn’t know you needed or wanted, they have. If you’re an exhaustive Bible student, this app is for you. On top of having every feature imaginable, they also have classic and contemporary books available, right inside the app. I love that regardless of what device I’m on, mobile or desktop, my notes and highlights remain intact. During the Bible study I teach this is very helpful because I can be on multiple devices at once while using multiple Bible versions simultaneously. Their attention to details for Bible study usage is impeccable. Olive Tree is the best of the best!

Zodhiates word study bibles. I have been using this resource for 15 years. When I starting traveling more, I added the Bibles to my phone. When I changed phone formats, I lost the downloads and was never able to recover them in a way that was easy for me. I just lost them. I have just rebought and loaded them. They are worth every dollar! I use them in church and Bible studies. I can check facts and research words immediately without flipping pages and causing disturbances. If someone uses a Greek or Hebrew reference, I can check right away to see if their translations are contextual to the scripture. So often, particularly in Hebrew, there are typically several choices of a word definition. I studied and speak Hebrew, although I'm not an expert. I know that many that use concordances in their study and teachings have no knowledge of the language, and I'm Berean about checking their work. I don't disdain scholarship by any means, though it's a good exercise for me to check their choices. The app from Zodhiates makes it easy. I trust his scholarship and resources from long use. He makes me a better student of the Word.

Long time user. As a layperson who has the privilege to teach a class in my church each Sunday, I have to to love the App. I have used several others over the years, but so glad I discovered Olive Tree. The only thing I don’t currently use it for is my daily Bible reading plan (YouVersion), but that will change beginning January 1. I love YouVersion and how they have made the Bible available free to literally the world, but i find myself opening Olive Tree most every morning due to digging a little deeper in what God is peaking to my heart about. Also love how I can simultaneously highlight only the portion of a verse I want to emphasize and make notes for immediate reference the next time I read the passage. Library is extensive, but as a layperson I have only purchased several trusted commentaries. The sync function between my iPad, iPhone and MacBook is wonderful. The only reason I gave it only 4 stars is because it seems to be less friendly on my MacBook, which I only use when structuring my lesson in Keynote. Love using it on my iPad.

Works well. I wanted the notes from the Stuttgarter Erklärungsbibel on my iPad and iPhone. I first got a paper copy in 1992 and found it excellent for producing sermons that contained many fresh insights. Often these are insights I have not found in English sources. And, the Bible dictionary (Anhang) contains many very excellent articles. I chose the New King James Version as the free download I was allowed. I like how the app. synchronizes the two in parallel windows. I also like that I was able to set a preference so my German notes scroll continuously in vertical fashion rather than from one page to the next page. That makes following a long German sentence easier. There are a couple of things I am still learning about getting around in the app. I do have other Bible programs on my devices and I always need to stop and remember which one I am using now or I can become very confused about how to navigate. I like the list of previous passages so I can get back to where I started. It took a while to find that menu. (It slides out from the left side of the frame.) Olive Tree regularly wants to sell me something more, but I wanted only this one set of excellent notes for my favorite German study Bible.

This app has been such a blessing. I have had this app for 10 years. It has helped me grow in God leaps and bounds. I have been able to take my church notes from this app and carry them around with me wherever I went. I started out with an iPod 2010 and then moved up to the mini iPad a few years later and have loved every minute of my journey. I’ve went through several dozen of their daily reading plans and in depth studies while sharing scriptures and notes on my social media pages. I just upgraded my iPad to an Air3 and am so excited to see all the upgrades that have come out. I’m a little upset that I am going to have to get rid of 2 out of 4 of my apps because they didn’t come with the new upgrades. Yes, I have 4 of your apps and use each one for different uses, one for daily reading plan, one for church, one for studying the “Harmony of the Gospels”, and the last for one of your many book apps I have downloaded. As I have said, I love your apps. Thank you so much for making these.

Great app! I love the way it’s organized, as if some actual Bible students designed it.. I used to use Logos and still do from time to time but this olive tree has become my goto app for all Bible study. It’s designed for the apple UI, not that junky windows garbage. Also, it’s set up for efficient workflow by people who understand Bible study. Yes, there are many opportunities for in-app purchases but what do you expect? Unless you’re a Freegan, or otherwise philosophically opposed to investing money in your education, you will enjoy the wide array of excellent options for purchase to add to your study library. I think I added $550 worth of books in the first week. And I love them! One in particular is the Ancient Christian Commentary which is a multi volume set priced at around $900. That’s a big commitment for anyone. But, through this app I can buy individual volumes for, like $30 when I need them. That’s awesome! I have the access I want at the price I’m willing to pay. Excellent!

The Best Bible Study App on the App Store. I am a current youth pastor at a church as well as a senior in Bible college. When I started this journey I was faced with the issue every collegiate bible student and pastor faces….should I used Logos Bible Software. It seemed like a no brainer…. For me it was different. I use an iPad Pro with a magic keyboard which means I was using the app version of software. I absolutely hated Logos. It was too clunky, confusing to use and felt overall cloudy. I started researching and came across the Olive Tree Bible app. Let’s just say I fell in love immediately. From the quick and smooth movement on the app to the Bible study plans and to the vast library of selection this software is the best. ON TOP OF THAT if you purchase resources online through their website you get 10 percent back in rewards to be used for future purchases. They also have generous sales throughout the year. I don’t need 300 books in a package that I’ll never read. I need sales on products that I am actually going to use. As an iPad user there is not a better app and I’m glad I chose Olive Tree as my Bible Study app for life.

Longtime, Grateful, Frustrated User. I’ve been with the Olive Tree platform for a long, long time. I am a huge fan and have evangelized others to its many virtues. It has literally transformed my Bible study. I can’t say enough good things. BUT!….the platform is aging and significant updates are LONG OVERDUE. We are years late on getting HTML Text Editing, as well as the rather simple ability to attach documents to a note or verse (PDF, Photo, Word doc). Every update for years and years has largely been minor, glitch related bug fixes. The most recent large new feature was audio Bible, which is nice, I’m sure, but of little use to me. If I were not so heavily committed with library investments, extensive notes and highlights, I would likely have changed platforms. But I’m stuck. Thus the frustration. I’m giving it four stars because I want the dev team to give us a major full x.o point upgrade asap. Also, the backup to Evernote has not worked in a decade, but when it did, it was brilliant. I would greatly prefer to have a secondary, third party partner for backup (similar to Evernote) that adds goes beyond exclusive reliance on Olive Tree’s cloud sync. Thank you for the cloud sync, let’s keep it, it works brilliantly, but give us a backup to our backup. PLEEEEAAASSSEE do these things! This app is amazing, but it is becoming less so with every passing year.

Great App & Bible. This is by far the BEST Bible App available. I just love the KJV Olive Tree Study Bible App so much so that it's my primary form of Bible reading now other than when in Bible Study, and church for one reason only, I enjoy hearing the pages turn in the sanctuary and not everyone has access to a smart device and I can get them a hard copy Bible through the Gideon’s if need be. I use Olive Tree Bible Study App for my study notes and even for preaching. The app works on my iPhone, iPad mini, iPad Pro, and MacBook Pro so that I can sync all my notes, highlights, and comments together in one place. Moreover, having EBD, Smith’s, Matthew Henry and Strong's at just a touch away in one app, my study is enhanced and thoughts are not easily lost trying to search for a book or passage, let alone having 4 study books open side by side for ease in discerning a word, passage, or in depth understanding! Perhaps a really big plus is when looking for a passage that takes just a few seconds by typing in a just a few words in the search box to find matching passages with the ability to define a book, a testament (OT/NT) and other such choices. Totally Awesome! Thank you Olive Tree!

Audio For Amplified Classic Translation. I used the original Olive Tree App for the Amplified Translation Classic version until just recently when because of course its not having any longer been updated it was no longer able to be accessed via Apple’s current software update. I had this current app installed back when informed about it, and used both it, and the old app Justin’s an alternate means to keep track of my daily reading. I’ve been forced by health circumstances to be now using the audio feature for the New American Standard Bible provided on the UVerse Bible app (it doesn’t have that function for the Amplified Bible - Classic or otherwise on there). Today I went looking on the Apple App Store for an Amplified Bible app that provides that feature. I found several, but in confirmation I guess of what seemed to be the case when I checked one the Olive Tree Bible app I could still find nothing indicating there is an available audio feature for the Amplified Bible Classic version or otherwise on it. I am going I guess to purchase one of those Amplified Bible apps that does have the audio feature since I need that capability and this app appears not to still have it (I’ve checked to see about that a number of times over the years).

Look No Further. I seldom write reviews. Probably less than ten total. I have been a user of Olive Tree Bible Software since the days of the Palm OS Treo. Over the years I have tried many other Bible software solutions as well; on my PC (before the best decision ever: Mac OS X), on my Mac, and on my iOS devices. Some of them were online solutions and some were device based. None of which compared to both the ease of use and depth of capability of the Bible app by Olive Tree. — From the total TechHead to the occasional user; the Bible app offers something for all. — I seamlessly use the software on my MacBook, iPhone, & iPad. It allows me to bookmark areas important to me, make notes for future reference and offers what seems to be an immeasurable number of Bible versions, Maps, Study Guides, Reference Material & Reading Plans. There are many items for purchase and well worth the price. — Olive Tree provides consistent and relevant updates to their software as well as reference material. And their Customer Service is on par with some of the best in the world.

A must have study tool!. Olive tree is a great tool for studying the Word of God. It has everything needed right down to resources and dictionaries. If your more in need of a guided reading... it has plans and reminders for it! I love this app because I am a mom of 4 and carrying around 1 item compared to a bag full to just do study the word has helped tremendously! It has helped me stay in the word because it takes the difficulty away from it. If I need to understand a word, or subject matter, I don't have to pull out another book, I can do a side by side reading. I won't get easily distracted while reading this Bible app because it's simple interface is minimal and has a great set up. I also like the fact their plans don't have PROSPERITY GOSPEL teachers in them! A downside is the need for subscription for certain things... but that's only if you want more than 1-2 translations... plus the extra study tools. Mind you these subs are optional, but I would say worth it for those who really wanna dive deeper into their relationship with God thru closer examination of Gods Word.

The Best Bible Study App. I've tried the rest, and Olive Tree continues to be the very best. This is the most reliable Bible reader I have ever used. Other prominent Bible apps have been unreliable when not connected to wi-fi (in church), but Olive Tree never fails. Olive Tree offers the most robust note-taking, highlighting, bookmarking of any reader. You can categorize, tag, and annotate, to your heart's content, and everything syncs beautifully. You have multiple options for syncing. It will sync with your desktop app, or with third-party solutions. My thousands of notes are synced with my Evernote account, for long-term storage and yet another easy way to search, share, and review my notes. The reference library that is seamlessly tied to your Olive Tree Bible reader is worth it's weight in gold. You can add as many reference books as you like: maps, dictionaries, concordance, study Bibles, etc. As you encounter a word or verse to research, your entire reference library is already looking at the same verse, so your maps are showing you what you are reading about, the study Bible is opened to that verse, etc. If your desire is to study the Bible over the course of a lifetime, you will be best served with Olive Tree.

Great app! Great customer service!. I love the OliveTree app. It’s easy to learn and a powerful tool! We lost our library of study books in a house fire a few years ago. We’ve been able to replace most of our books through OliveTree. With the side-by-side layout you can have your Bible open and easily access your library to open up any reference book you need. They’re organized by type (commentaries, Bibles, maps, etc.). Additionally, the Bibles with Strong’s allow you to tap a word and the pop-up box gives you easy access to all the word-studies books in your library. OliveTree also allows you to write notes on any word, not merely on each verse. Very handy! I also want to applaud their customer service staff. Three times we have needed their assistance. Each time they responded quickly, were very friendly and quite helpful! They know the software well and genuinely seem to be happy to help with any technical problem. Great experiences each time! I highly recommend OliveTree!

Best Bible Study Software. I honestly can not say enough nice things about the Olive Tree Bible Study App for IOS. It seems to be the perfect blend of “keeping things simple” and having an extensive library of resources to get the most out of studying God’s word. The layout in itself is amazing, and is perfectly complimented by the Study Center. The Resource Guide, Parallel, and Notes tabs are very well designed, and the Lookup tab allows one to quickly find articles, cross reference, notes, tags, and related topics to any search criteria. Not to mention the niceties of customizable highlighting and underlining tools, reading history, inline scripture cross references, an extensive search function, the ability to sync your notes and highlights across devices, and customizable shortcut gestures. Before you decide to spend a large sum of money for Bible study software, do yourself a favor and spend some time with this app. I think you will find it will satisfy all your needs, whether that’s reading God’s word for the first time, or preparing your next sermon.

Logos Convert. I started my in depth Bible studies with Logos software. It was pretty great, even if it was slow to boot up and search, and prohibitively expensive. I still enjoyed using it and debated buying the next tier for something like 100$. I bought myself an iPad for Christmas 2020 and right away installed the Logos app, but thought I’d also give the Olive Tree app a try as well. Right away I noticed the dark mode was just much more eye candy than the plain black of the Logos app. Then I discovered the book store inside of this app, there were plenty of holiday sales going on and I took advantage of them. I grabbed myself a great bunch of study tools NASB with Strongs, NIV with strongs, three comentaries, and still cheaper than just the software alone for Logos. I have since removed Logos from my PC and i devices because this has brought my studies to another level. The interactions with the app, bibles, and the ease of accessing the study tools within text make this my only Bible study tool now (well this +GoodNotes). I am thoroughly enjoying these tools and look forward to new sales and tools to put in my Biblical toolbox from these guys.

Whatever is excellent, whatever is note worthy.... I use this Bible application every day along with one of the commentaries to gain additional historical insight into the scripture. I find this to be exceedingly helpful in that I do not always understand the background of many passages of Scripture, particularly the old testament as that is what I am reading now. I am hoping to continue this practice throughout the Old Testament and the New Testament. Though there are some advantages to other biblical apps, this is the one I use daily. For that reason I would wholeheartedly recommend this app to anybody who wishes to gain more insight and knowledge of the Scriptures! In all of my reading, I have come to the conclusion that the word of God is truly able to change a man’s heart at a very deep level. I have yet to see anyone who reads the Scriptures and does not come away with being somewhat changed by them to the extent that they are studied. It is just one more proof to me of their divine origins! The human race has been greatly blessed because of the Scriptures and without them our society would have indeed been very dark and dismal. But they will not help you unless you read them. So try out this app and see if it doesn’t help you with that. May your Bible reading be blessed and you’re worthy prayers being answered!

Best Mobile Study App So Far. I have been using Olivetree since the Palm OS days. On my computer I used Biblesoft (still amazing on PC) but they have failed to make a good mobile app. Olivetree offers the desktop experience of Biblesoft on a mobile platform. For this reason I have started actively growing my Olivetree library. I have also tried YouVersion, and while that app is simple, quick, and offers a lot of social features, it has very little study ability. Most features it has , Olivetree already has or can easily add more. Where Olivetree really shines is study tools and reference material, not to mention offline availability (no internet in a lot of churches and I use a wifi iPad) and cross platform syncing. This app is truly amazing, I recommend it highly. All of that said in the current version there're a few places to improve. Sometimes you have to dig to find the settings you want, and at times the flow feels less than intuitive. These are only minor things and with every release it gets better! Keep up the great work guys!

An Unfortunate App Change. There are two primary Bible apps in the App Store. I turned to this app because I, as most people, do not simply read the Bible, we study it. As we study, there are excerpts that relate to particular subjects of interest and so we need to copy that excerpt and paste it into our notes. The other app did not allow for that to happen whereas this app did, and it worked great. Not just because the text itself was able to be pasted into notes along with the verse numbers in place, but the excerpt citation (the Book, Chapter, and the span of verses) was also included. The included citation option saved a great deal of time and aggravation by not having to manually enter that into the notes. Sadly, the citation option was inexplicably removed. Additionally, I would have to say that the cost of adding the very common Bible versions are unreasonably high. Still, it has some very nice features such as being able to use a split screen to enable study of the text differences between two different Bible versions, and there being a concordance to assist in locating scripture potentially related to a subject under study using key words.

Incredibly useful study tool. By far the most useful biblical study tool I’ve ever encountered. Parallel mode allows you to compare two texts side-by-side, but where this app really shines is the way it rapidly links to various footnotes, translations, commentaries, etc. in easy pop-up windows, all from different sources at once! No more is it a hassle to actually hunt down all those cross-references; they are a click and pop-up window away. I can read the gospels or epistles, and any time a reference to an OT text comes along, I can instantly pull it up and see the context in which it was written (and vice versa). I can read my bible, and all the commentaries, study notes, and strong’s numbers are following alongside, a mere click away. The downside here is obviously these resources need to be purchased, as they aren’t pubic domain (outside of a few Bible translations). What I’ve found worthwhile is subscribing to a “study pack” that gives you access to tons of resources for a yearly fee. I suspect after a couple years I’ll just outright purchase the ones I use the most.

Superior App!. This app is far ahead of all other Bible apps I have tried. I can have a study bible on the bottom pane, my strongs bible on the top so that any word I am curious about, I can tap it and pull up the original greek or hebrew word with definitions. I can highlight in as many colors as I create and name the colors by topic like "Holy Spirit" or "Assurance." Then I can pull up every verse I have ever come across on the Holy Spirit later in a list. I can write notes on verses and link topical lessons throughout the Bible. Best of all, I can sync all of this with my online account to pull it up on my iPad, iPhone, or PC and never lose it. The only con I can think of is that Bibles and commentaries are more expensive than some apps, but you get what you pay for, and this is worth it. I am teaching my kids how to use it to build family Bible studies. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to study the Bible or start a virtual library of commentaries.

Very useful. I am a former pastor with a seminary education who has been long accustomed to studying from several Bibles and commentaries. I have a large basket full of them next to my chair. I like to have a book in front of me and underline and take notes in the margins as I study. But it can be very cumbersome. I lead the Bible study and adult Sunday school at my church and seeing e bring in a pile of books, the pastor recommended I try an app. I had useful several Bible apps but I wasn’t so thrilled with them. I looked into Logos, but couldn’t believe how expensive it was. I also had several translations on my kindle. I like the REB, but the only place i could find an electronic version was in Olive Tree. So I bought it and committed to using it for brewing Bible reading when not in my office or chair. But then I saw a sale of TDOT and the price was much less than i expected. I ended up buying many commentaries and other resources I’ve long wanted, but couldn’t afford. Since then my personal study, the Bible studies Iead in the church and the occasional sermon I give have all become much better. I’ve spent quite a bit of money, but now I have a collection of materials beyond the wildest dreams of my seminary days. I love this app. I still use my physical Bible though.

App’s broken … again. Everything I have on my phone is connecting to the internet and this app says I don’t have an internet connection. Which of course is a problem because the resources it says it downloads for offline use, it does not download permanently. It literally downloads them EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU USE THEM. You can verify the files are on your device and it will not use the resource until it downloads them anew. And since it thinks there is no connection, it won’t download them … again. This problem has persisted for YEARS. After version 6 on the PC when the devs sold themselves to the Microsoft store, nothing works properly on it. Not sure why the PC version would tank the mobile app but, that’s exactly what happened. Honestly, I don’t know what the devs problems are but, no one should ever use this app simply because any resources purchased will not be useable whenever the app decides it’s going to take a vacation and not download your resources for the umpteen billionth time. Do yourself a favor and just get Logos or Accordance, I’ve never had any issues on them. This app is just a Mickey Mouse version of those apps. Can’t tell you how much I regret finding this app first. Wish I could transfer the resources I bought on this app to one of them. I wish I had been given a warning when I got this app, if you’re reading this, this is yours.

Absolutely love it, Oct, 2021. (Last updated review Sept 2016.) I have used this app for years. It is great for use during Bible studies, Sunday school, and personal study. I love the highlighting features, the ability to make notes, and the cross reference is helpful. Like being able to switch versions without losing my place. Great app! Nov. 19, 2014 edit: I use this Olive Tree app in my personal Bible study every morning. I love that I can copy a verse(s) and paste into my journal, and if it's not clear, and can switch to a different version of the Bible and be at the same location. I did purchase the Student Reference bundle that they had at the time I bought it, which was around $50 or $60 on sale, but that was what a nice Bible cost and came with several versions, and I have added a couple more versions. I'm sure I'm not using all the features of the app, but the ones I use are indispensable to me. If you are serious about Bible study, this is a great tool!

Great Bible Study program. I’ve been reading my bible since I learned to read at age 4! It was an old KJ that I used for 22 years! Mind you I didn’t always understand it ,not, because of it necessarily but because I didn’t comprehend most of it till my teens! I’m 66 now, older, not much wiser, but, being able to study the different versions in parallel, look up the meanings, the cultural histories, the linguistic interpretations of Latin, Greek, Aramaic, and then jot down notes relevant to me, look up a devotional reading for the day or read a great prayer by another Christian Judy’s fulfills something in my walk with God. It helps me understand the depths of my sin but also the depths of Gods marvelous grace! If I could add a suggestion, when you open a window to make notes, and within the quick study links simultaneously it would be helpful to be able to copy the vs. from the quick study link, or for that matter when you pull up the linked vs. in other bibles to add to notes, some versions it does let you others it doesn’t! I general just have to type it in myself which takes time. Thank you for your helpfulness!

The most significant application you will ever load.. I got a slow start on this app. I couldn’t get over reading a device while in church. Well for the past several months I have forced myself into this app. I figured; Hey I paid for this IPAD I mint as well use it! Know I can’t move without my IPAD, not for games, email or text, its for this Olive Tree Bible App. I can’t tell you how often a thought comes to mind and I can pop into the app and check it out. I have all the Life Applications Bibles set plus several other translations, dictionary, commentaries, Name, just everything. My Bible study has increased and best of all my understanding has increased. I love the Highlights which will highlight All my bibles at the same time.q hey Siri I love the ability to read two translations at the same time. I love to have the Strongs Version open while reading the Message Bible or NLT Bible. I love how my notes save to the OT web site AND my every notes. I love how I can organize my notes under topics with their own icons. I love the history button where I can quickly jump back to versus I was just reading. I love to be able to take sermon notes and attach to the verse. Sorry I can go on and on and on about this app. As I said this Application is the most significant application you will ever load or use. Spend Time In the Bible Every Day! ...

Great. This is my go-to personal bible study, teaching/ministering preparation app. The NKJV with Strong's is my favorite. You tap on most words and Hebrew (OT) or Greek (NT) meanings come up. Fabulous way to understand things as they were first written. I use lots of the available resources. Great NIV and NIV study notes, too. Olive Tree is responsive to customer communications. That is so appreciated. A recent upgrade was causing terrible crashes. They scrambled to fix things quickly. Much appreciated. These folks are on top of their game. They remain sensitive to folks using early iPad editions. Needs more development time: The app on my desktop Mac and laptop PC is sadly more cumbersome and less intuitive than the excellent phone and tablet versions. Word searching is clunkier, and GO TO requires a pull down menu that is less than cooperative, if those two app versions were better this would be a seven star app. One more whine/suggestion: the second window (on the phone and tablet app) would love to more intuitively remain open each time you fired things up. Seems like I either haven't yet learned (after many years!) or simply can't get it to always open when the primary window opens. Either reason, it's frustrating.

I Love This App!!!. This is a fabulous app for my lifestyle: busy, Busy, BUSY!!! By any chance, do you have a study plan link available in this application? I would love to use your app for a daily devotional, and possibly with bible questions I can answer while using your app? I just deleted a Daily Devotional app because it would spontaneously make me "Log-in" But would not store my preset log-in info. I would be on a bus or subway, trying to read a devotional at 5:50AM before I transfer to the next bus or subway while heading to work, but instead I am dealing with an app that insists I have "entered the wrong password, please try again." So, instead of using the time to get into the Word, I spent the forty minute commute trying to remember a passcode and sign-in identification. Too much!!! Thus the reason why I love your app: I open it. I read the Word. I mediate on the Word. I feel the peace of God enter into my mind. I then face the world. Thank you!

This app has incredible flexibility.. BOY! How I had researched many of the Bible apps on the store, searching for an app that was not too simple or too complex. This one was in the 'Goldilocks' zone for me, the price was right and they had many free books included. And when books I wanted were on sale, I saved 20, 40, or 60% on those purchases. BUT! When I used it I was and still am amazed by the multiple levels of hyper-links I can work. While in the bible, I tap and hold on a word and a menu pops up, I choose 'lookup', and the dictionary's, commentaries, and concordances are available. I select the appropriate book and then the entry I want, after reading that I click on a link and look at that. Repeating ad infinitum, as I wander thru multiple levels in multiple books, what a joy to frolic in the Scriptures. WOW! I used to cover my kitchen table with books to clumsily approximate what I can now do so well. What a vast improvement in studying and writing about the Word of God. I heartily and happily recommend this app highly. David K. Austin

This app helped make the Word of God part of my daily life. For that alone I am and always will be very grateful for Olive Tree. I primarily only use it to do my daily study and read my preferred commentaries. I love the way I can jump online immediately if there is a word or term I want more information on. I know the app has a lot more resources you can purchase and I add a few every now and then but it is the scriptures that keeps me coming back. I have been saved 42 years and always started and stopped daily Bible studies. Some times for many years. But since Olive Tree I have had a daily Bible Study for almost five years straight now and The Word of God is still new and revealing to me. In it we find life and life everlasting. If I could improve one thing it would be the highlighting function which can be very finicky selecting whole passages without the ability to accurately select a specific verse. But it’s manageable. No matter what Bible app you currently use I hope you will give this one a try as I believe its creators have been anointed to do this work Grace and Peace my brethren, I can’t wait to meet you all in glory.

Not as good as before. I like the many resources you can have in one place with this. They made a major change to the appearance of the app, maybe one year ago though. I liked the old look a lot more. Now I have to hide the tool bar when I'm reading, otherwise the appearance is too jarring and distracting from my reading. The study window where you can read another translation, or dictionary is more cumbersome now. It used to have a cute little tab that blended in nicely when not in use, and could be easily pulled up when needed. I don't know if it was visible with the tool bar hidden, because I never used to hide the tool bar. I now have to display the tool bar to make the study window "plus" sign visible, which also has study window written out over a not so nice green color. The tool bar has a shopping cart in the middle now, which sits right at the top of your screen. I can only surmise that the makers of the app are moo concerned with us buying things than us enjoying our Bible reading experience. One good change is easier access to a Bible reading plan with a button on the tool bar.

Bible Study app. I have read through the Bible now for over 25 years. I have used this program for over 5 years. I get concerned about every update. I accidentally updated on my phone a couple of years ago, but every update has been a challenge to get used to. This last one I don’t like not seeing the projected end date. I still have the older version on my iPad. The only reason I continue using the app and trying to adjust to the changes is because I’m committed to reading God’s Word every morning. Part 2 I have discovered another thing I miss. On the older version, when I select reading plans it shows My Plans and has a list of all the times I have completed a plan. I am finishing my 6th year of reading Life Journal in this app. Before that I was using the Victory Bible Reading Plan from Omega Ministries for over 20 years. I do like the ability to have a Bible app on my iPad and iPhone that has a good through the Bible in a year plan. This has been a plus for me. I haven’t found any Bible apps that have a Bible reading plan that I like as well as Life Journal. I have other Bible apps, but this is the one I use the most. I have just struggled with some of the changes that are made.

My Personal Bible Study App. This year (2023) I have done a chronological reading of the New King James Version of the Holy Bible through my Olive Tree tablets. It has been and continues to be my personal preference of sword in my ‘whole armor of God’. With it I am truly prepared to be used by the Holy Spirit as I instruct my church Sunday School from the hand of God and help my students reveal the unfathomable riches which the Word of God has for His people (Job 27:11). Be blessed with the word this holiday season. —RevERG 21Dec23 For years now and several computerized devices I continue to both use and favor the Olive Tree Bible app for my personalized Bible studies and spiritual enrichment. It has earned the description as my favorite because, truly it is. -RevERG 16Dec22 My opinion of Olive Tree Bible has only grown to include another year of my eternal life journey with my favorite digital companion. I am coming upon completion of the Daily Christian Standard Bible which fits hand in glove with this app, just like many others. I believe it helps myself, among many other believers to truly walk in love. I'm prayerful for another year with my favorite Bible study companion - the Olive Tree Bible. Happy holidays!

Flexible Bible App. The Olive Tree Bible app has worked really well for me. I have found the app to be very flexible because it allows me to purchase the Bibles, commentaries and resources that I want to use. There are a couple of deficiencies about that app. It does not provide any page numbers to match the printed editions of the resources, which makes it incomplete from a research perspective. Also, the search function can sometimes be a little temperamental. Overall, it is a great flexible Bible app.

Shining Stars. This Bible app for me is a blessing I have learned so much of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ as well as, God the Father and the comforter The Holy Spirit. Done lots of personal devotions and still growing, God’s word indeed is alive and active. Also there are those books you can purchase too, thank you for the developers of this app you have done a great deal for me. May God bless and keep you, may His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you, may the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace.

Almost perfect!. I use this program pretty much daily. It's beautifully laid out and makes bible reading a wonderful experience especially with it's bible reading plans. I have bought multiple resources including dictionaries and commentaries and they work seamlessly. This program makes preparing messages and personal study a lot more efficient. My only suggestion for improvement would be if there was some way for the notes window to move around or be side by side with the text so that you can read the text whilst writing notes. Apart from that I can't think of what else it's an almost perfect product!! Thank you to the developers.

(Updated) great Bible resource but I’m shocked. Been using the app for over a decade - love it for its resources and being a place where I can have all my notes, words, journaling, study etc all in one place. Been asking for some time for basic formatting like Bold, underline etc (like every other app with note-taking capabilities) and they’ve done it but are charging for it! Unbelievable. I’m going to need to look into a new app and get my notes exported across unfortunately

Olive Tree Bible App. When I was looking for a Bible app I tried most of the others but they didn’t have the same feel as The Bible App has, I’m not saying it’s perfect, there a few little things that I’d like to see in future updates, but over all extremely well done. It’s very intuitive, the Store has an extensive list of Titles to download or purchase, now if only it made me my coffee in the morning I’d give it the extra star, actually if it did that I’d give it a Galaxy of stars.

Still the best. I’ve used Olive Tree for a few years now, there is nothing better. I have just one request. 1. I really would like to see markup in the Notes, at least the ability to use bold, underline and italic, I cannot believe why this text should be so basic. I emailed a long time ago about the potential for Notes to be so much more, but little has changed.

Allows me to study scripture more easily. App is really easy to use, quick to start up. Tech support is also very responsive. In iphone, i like the short-cut which allows me to move to next and previous chapter quickly. The cross reference link is useful and easy to use. I have very good experience of this app.

Great program.. I have a suggestion. Instead of, and as well as bookmarks, can you make tabs? If I’ve got a paper bible, I flick through and put my hand in, have paper markers to use and come backwards and forwards… this can’t be done in this digital version at the moment. I use this on a tablet, and I’d love to be able to click between pages/verses. Tabs would make this so easy to do.

Best thing on both my iPhone and iPad.. Been using this for many years after originally buying software for my computer. I love reading my leather Bible but this is a convenient way to carry my many different translations and other Bible helps to church so that they’re at your fingertips during a sermon or Bible study. The range of wonderful Bibles and other books available will give you access to a unparalleled library on your device.

A Very helpful App.. I find the Bible Study+ App to be very useful. With its easy to use interface and a great range of functions it provides good value for money; compared with other bible applications out there. It is not proscriptive in the manner it can be used and the copy and paste function makes both the preparation of teaching messages, and also book writing, a lot easier than previously having to physically transcribe the texts themselves. Additionally, the ability to swap between translations so quickly and with ease makes comparative work so much easier. The only drawback I have encountered is the inability of the app to continue downloading while I get on with other activities on my device. This is particularly peeving in situations where the internet connection is slow; it can feel that the device has been hijacked and I find time wasted where I could be doing other things. With all of that the ability to continue the same work across multitude platforms, with the sync function, means that I can continue to work with other applications on MacBook, iMac and iOS devices easily. However, 5 stars I am happy to give it; a well thought out app at a reasonable price. Pastor Graham Douglas-Meyer

Excellent app. Been using Olive Tree for many years (since I purchased it on my Palm Pilot). Excellent app and would highly recommend it to anyone. Love that there are free resources as well as ones to purchase. The upgrades over the years are great, now being able to listen to the Bible when I’m out for a walk, as well as read it at home or church is fantastic.

The Best Bible app! + EASY Bible?. Have been using OliveTree Bible Study app for many years, and it has been brilliant—the best app available for IOS—thank you! And now finally after many years of requests Rich Text Formatting has been added! Now so much better when being used for preaching, and meetings. Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou for finally making this a reality!

The Gospel according to John. This is the zaniest story I’ve read in years. Loved it. If taken literally Christ must have had powerful backers who used advanced teleportation and telelocation technology. Others seemed to be using the same Voice of God technology that Corey G Goode references in his speeches. I wonder who the two people dressed in white were and how they rescued Christ from death. Maybe they were the Anshar or some other group. Corey also mentions food manifestation hence the water into wine trick and feeding five thousand. Maybe once we become ascended masters like Christ we’ll all celebrate with manifested food etc. An 80 year old friend once told me she and her mattress were moved through a brick wall late and night in an elevated position. I think others did this to her (she was fully conscious). In the same way Christ entered the locked room of the apostles twice by passing through walls. Definitely advanced technology present in this fine story. What a blast.

Bible Study App. This App is wonderful. It takes a little while to learn how to use it and the way to navigate around the various tabs and book search functions, but once you’ve taken the time to figure it out, it’s a very useful Bible study tool. And the best Bible study is the one you can use because it’s always with you. Most of us always have our phone or iPad with us, so anytime you have a quiet moment, you’re able to read The Word and learn about The Good News. God bless.

Essential. Olive Tree ensures that no matter where I am or what I do, I have the living word of God in my hand and his promises at my fingertips that find and share easily. Whenever I can’t remember chapter and verse (which is frequently) I type in the key words of the scripture I want to read and there it is, ready to read.

Wonderful, except.... ...switching books is STILL not intuitive for me, and it’s been nearly a year since they changed how you do it. You have to tap to make sure the toolbar is showing at the top, then you have to tap the special little book icon. Confusingly, you can’t tap the book name to change book. I thought this was a little niggle I’d get over, but it’s been so many months and still every day I have to figure it out. It’s really poor UI design and I hope they fix it. Other than that I love the app. I’ve tried Logos software but it was just way clunkier and more complex than the lovely interface of Olive Tree. I read the Bible for 1-2 hours a day on this app on iPhone, iPad and Mac and I really love it! The pop up windows and split window features are awesome and so much better than the weird way Logos handles it, IMO. Praise God for having his word in such a convenient form!!!

buyer beware. I would have previously rated this pretty well. But you should be aware that you can have the product that you purchased removed at at time without a option for replacement. I purchased the Greek New Testament and later the decided to remove this product. When I messaged support they claimed that they removed the product and that I would have to purchase another “upgrade” to access similar features. No refund or similar replacement. So beware that your purchase at the risk of removal at any time without notice

Olive Tree Bible Study App. I use this mainly on my iPad, and the way the app is able to connect all of my downloaded Bibles, maps and other information is great. Makes it so much easier to reference the material. Fantastic! Really love the split screen. It did take some time to learn how to get the most from the way things worked, but the Guide was fantastic with instructions. The only trouble I have is deciding which Reference to use. Most excellent and highly recommended!

Please add older NIV translations. I like this app but I prefer reading my original NIV translation from the early 1980’s and 90’s as the current version is very different and I don’t like the fact that ‘son’ or ‘sons’ is being replaced with ‘person’ due to political correctness. What will be next, God is our ‘parent’ Jesus is the ‘gender neutral person’ of God? Or that we shouldn’t mention Jesus death as it’s upsetting to people? People died to give us the word of God and we should never change it to please the world.

It’s a great good Bible but could be more user friendly. This app is geared more for serious Bible student but it should be make configurable for other users too like for beginners, children, people who never read the Bible before, etc. Often I have to make a few clicks before getting to the verse of the Bible itself. The first obvious flaw to correct is the Bible should be put on the first page itself with all the names of the Books clearly displayed so one can find a particular verse or chapter by third clicks.

Good app but.... This is a great and simple way to always carry around and have an easily accessible/readable bible on hand. I do have one suggestion on improvement though-could you app creators please TAKE NOTE and add a AUDIO NARRATION OF THE BIBLE setting, as well as just being able to read it....that would make it so much better as I am an audio learner/I retain things a lot better if I am able to listen to it. I would v v much appreciate it if you guys could do this... God bless you all xox

Olive Tree App is my bible workhorse program. As a minister and missionary, I need a program that is easy to access the different Bible resources I need. I need a program that can be visually modified for easy reading on my iPad in various venues. The cut and paste option is so helpful, when putting Scripture directly into my speaking notes. I have used this app for many years now, and has been a great asset for the ministry.

Love this Bible study ap. I’ve had Olive Tree Bible Study for a few years now and I love it. There were some free versions of the bible that came with the app, but I have added to my library by purchasing other Bible versions as well as commentaries, etc. I run a ladies meeting and Bible study and with so many resources at my fingertips, the app allows me to plan my lessons, as well as personal study. It allows me, with a split screen, to have my chosen bible version on one side of the screen and a commentary on the other. There is also many built in studies within the app which takes you through the Bible in a year. I highly recommend Olive Tree Bible Study app.

A great app, however the prompts get in the way. I have enjoyed using this app for many years. However, I regularly receive prompts to review the app… and this often comes at times when I most want to focus on the text and not on a completely unrelated activity. Please consider… and at a minimum provide an option to completely eliminate this type of prompt. Or better still make it the default behavior.

You Ruined Your App. It’s not right that you force people to allow access to privacy settings in order to use your app. What are we suppose to just trust you along with other companies that promise to keep our information confidential but never do because your “Christian”? Don’t think so. Deleted The only privacy issue I have is your lack of respect for mine. Yeah just like Facebook, Twitter and Google you would never share personal information until it suits you or you get hacked. What difference is there in what you do and the rest of the world? Oh rest assured we have integrity.

Great program. But a few tweaks would make it better. I love using the program. Works very well. A robust app, but hasn’t developed much over time. It should be possible to have multiple tabs open in the taskbar, open at different chapters (like internet browsers). And be able to select different versions or passages in each tab. Also, I’ve never understood what locking and unlocking the taskbar actually does. It should be possible to add Photos/images to Notes, or be able to create a personal Resource where images are stored. This would be good for collected images, charts, artwork, slides from presentations etc. Also should be able to create a personal bible reading calendar. There is one that I know a lot of people use that isn’t available in the Library.

Great function. I have been using your site for three years. It is fantastic. It so portable. The helps and access are so quick. If I am alone or in a group I can quickly find what I am looking for . never in my Wildest dreams could I envision this. It is a gift in these “last days”. taking advantage of the best technology, to access the person of God and His Wisdom: Jesus Christ.

What an amazing tool for studying the Bible. Of all the apps I have used my Olive Tree bible study app is the one I use the most. I use it for my bible devotions and for and digging deeper in to God’s. It has helped me gain an insight in to God’s word and has opened up ideas on such subjects as Gods love, salvation, hope, love, redemption, new creation, new heaven and new earth. The value of life and people can be reached and touched by tools found in the Olive Tree Bible app. God bless. Michael Robinson. From Perth Western Australian. 🦘🦘🦘🐑🐑🥇🥇🇦🇺🇦🇺👍🏻👍🏻

Nice layout - many reading plans. I am really enjoying this app. It presents well and is easy to navigate and search. It also has an amazing array of bible reading plans. I’ve started one for reading this bible in a year. It actually works on a 300 day plan so you have 5 days off each month. This is designed knowing that sometimes we don’t always read every day so you have a few extra days planned in so you don’t get behind or overwhelmed with catchup when you miss a day. So far, all good and no negatives. Highly recommended!

Must have app. Whether you want a simple way of keeping a bible with you at all times, or a serious study bible, this app is for you. I appreciate having a library of study resources with me as I travel. The designers of the app have done a superb job, the range of resources is vast, and it is so easy to use. And to be able to study out words at the tap of a finger is simply amazing. I tried 3 different recommended bible study apps a few years ago, and this is the one that was best, for me, by far. Also, you don’t have to be online, and you have a library in your hands.

Great, but broken, AGAIN. This is a wonderful Bible App, at least until they update it. Many of the updates produce changes that seem to break it in one way or another. The highlights no longer line up properly, it won’t place notes markers in the right place. This time portions of my favoured NKJV with Strong’s won’t load, I’ve lost screen space due to extra buttons, especially a problem on my phone. It seems they make updates for the sake of making updates and then don’t test it properly.

Most preferred bible app. I like this app over all the others but the only thing about it that I would like to have available in the settings is to keep the screen from turning off while having app open. I know there’s an issue with battery drain but I don’t need to be concerned about it in my case and I would like to have the option to turn it on or off. Otherwise a great app to use.

Best Bible app for me and I’ve tried them all. Multiple versions, easy user interface, customisable appearance and doesn’t bombard me constantly with ‘you missed a day’ or ‘try our latest feature’ so I can just read the Bible. All cross references are linked so you can read the cross reference in a pop up window without looking it up or losing your place. Helpful additional resources if you want them but they don’t intrude if you don’t want them.

Review. This is an excellent app for anyone who struggles to find time to just sit in the presence of God. With a number of free resources as well as an excellent list of books and Bibles. This app also offers a number of reading programs and devotionals in an easy to read and study format. I would recommend this to Christians of all walks, whether a new Christian or someone who has been walking with God for years. There is something for everyone, highly recommended.

The Word of God. I love this App , I have the Bible with me everywhere, I don't have a reason to say I can't reed the Bible ,and I can have on this app my Romanian bible which is fabulous , I can understand better , than I compare with the English one and I find very very needed and useful thank you very much for the hard work , may God bless you all for the hard job

Been using this for a number of years.. Been using this for a number of years over 3 iterations of iOS. It just keeps getting better. I would like the note taker to open in its own page so I don't have to close that window to go back to reading the passage while taking notes. Also when categorizing notes there would be less scrolling if sub-catagories were displayed upon tapping on the parent rather than displaying the entire tree.

It’s all here in one app- no more piled heavy books. No matter how much I look at my paper bible on my desk sitting there, it’s always this app I pick up first. With the ease of changing between my favourite bible translations quickly when I’m reading the Word to get better understanding, to a mountain of heavy bible study books and resources only one click away that I can take with me to any destination in the world without one extra pound to carry…this bible app has been my go-to for many years now. I simply won’t use any other bible app…it’s all here.

Bible and support references at you fingertips. I find the olive tree app easy to read due to its user friendly interface. It also is provides paid and free support references e.g. concordances/theology dictionaries which helps the reader to put the writing in to perspective. I use 3 versions of the bible on this app and I can flick through the versions easily when reading. May God be the centre of everything we do and bless the success off our works.

So helpful. I love this app so easy to find your way around, so many great features. I like all the different reading plans such variety last year I read through the Bible using the chronological plan this year using the plan where you read from 4 sections of the Bible each day. If there was one additional feature I would like it would be the option to hear it read.

Feedback .... Great software on the greatest theme - knowing the king of kings through His own words! Excellent accessible study resources - easily available at fingertips - to view the greatest One, Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour, through different lenses - some old and some new! Nice search engines - convenient to look up verses, texts, etc. too. This is one of my convenient go-to Bible study tools and well worth recommending for quick reference across multiple devices and even across multiple platforms.

This is no longer a viable Bible because it has been altered!. VERY CRITICAL ALERT!!! I'm sure you know that New international version (NIV) was published by Zondervan but is now OWNED by Harper Collins The NIV and English Standard Version (ESV) has now removed 64,575 words from the Bible including Jehovah, Calvary, Holy Ghost and omnipotent to name but a few... The NIV and ESV has also now removed 45 complete verses. Most of us have the Bible on our devices and phones especially "OLIVE TREE BIBLE STUDY APP." Try and find these scriptures in NIV and ESV on your computer, phone or device right now if you are in doubt: Matthew 17:21, 18:11, 23:14; Mark 7:16, 9:44, 9:46; Luke 17:36, 23:17; John 5:4; Acts 8:37. ...you will not believe your eyes. Refuse to be blinded by Satan, and do not act like you just don't care. Let's not forget what the Lord Jesus said in John 10:10 (King James Version). Revelations 22:18-19 THE SOLUTION: If you must use the NIV and ESV, BUY and KEEP AN EARLIER VERSION OF the BIBLE. A Hard Copy cannot be updated. All these changes occur when they ask you to update the app. On your phone or laptop etc. Buy and KEEP EARLIER VERSIONS AND STORE THEM.

So very helpful!. I have found this Bible app so helpful to use the Bible on the go or easily swap through different versions. It has a nice layout and is straightforward to use. Lots of good free Bible versions and many other resources. Very thankful to God, and His people who have put this technology and its resources together - it has the best customisable highlighters and underlines so that you can mark it up if you like also. I use it every single day. Thank you so much! Highly recommend!

Today is 5 stars. Complained, had communication straight away. All issues resolved. Thank you for providing such a prompt and efficient service for this app. Continue to use everyday and will continue to recommend for others. Thank you again Olivetree.

Bible Study App by Olive Tree.. This Bible Study app is something I use regularly and have found it to be an excellent tool to study the Bible. It’s many support books and Bible translations are so useful for my spiritual food, growth, worship and praise that it goes with me everywhere and everyday, right in my pocket. Mechanically the app is almost floorless and the resources available to the Christian for reading and study are very comprehensive. If my phone dies and I have to get a new one, Olive Tree has all my Bible translation, resource guides and notes etc downloaded and all I have to do is put their app on the new device and reload all my notes and resources. This is a wonderful and extremely useful tool to study Gods word and I freely recommend it to all.

Love this app 😀. Great app and easy to use. Study plans are so helpful and easy to use. Reading so much of the bible than I ever had. I would make ons suggestion for improvement. When I go to the store to purchase, it would be great if I could see sample pages or hear a sample of an audio book as this would assist my decision about purchasing

Great App for Bible study and preaching. An excellent app for personal Bible study and preaching. I have been using this app for the last 7 years and use this almost every day to write message and sermons. The only draw back is that you cannot highlight anything in your notes or even change fonts in the notes. Have sent several emails to the developers without any response.

My Notes in Resouce Guide Now Defunct!!. The new upgrade has not been a success for me! Not only do my study notes not sync with the main Bible that is open, I cannot open them at all in the resource guide. This is a wonderful Bible software program with awesome potential, but the refusal to add in rich text format capability is puzzling. several years ago I wrote asking for it to be provided I was told it would happen within the subsequent 12 months. Even most free Bible software is able to do what Olive Tree cannot!!! Surely the ability to do in depth personal Bible study should be one of the top priorities of Bible software. So please fix the problem with the study notes not syncing and bring notetaking into the 21st-century! Shalom.

Everything I need. I’m probably not using this app to its full potential, but it does everything I need it to. The easy navigation is a winner for me. Other apps I tried were a pain. But the Olive Tree app makes it easy to jump straight to the passage I want. I also like being able to explore the many helpful cross references without leaving the text I’m in. And I love the powerful search function that allows me to set up and name my own searches. I know there are more optional extra resources available, and I’m sure they’re great, but the basic app suits me fine.

Top bible app. I have been using Olive Tree for many years and really like it. It has become my biblical reference source. The library has a huge selection of references and the interface works very well. The application syncs really well between my PC iPad and phone so I can access it at any time on all my devices an know that it is up to date. I still love reading hard copy books but a number of years ago my entire library was lost because of water damage and I lost several thousand dollars of reference books including ones handed down to me from my grandfather’s collection. They were over 100 years old. I now have access to nearly all of those books anyway I go. Thank you, Olive Tree for the continuing development of your app.

Hcsb. I have been looking for a bible app to replace the HCSB study bible app which included everything in the HCSB study bible + strong’s references, which I purchased in 2010 and was an absolutely brilliant app. I am disappointed that now I need to spend <$90 to get the same amount of information in an app. I have been looking for a long time and it seems that I will have to continue looking. I spent $46 getting the HCSB with notes and Strong’s references, but it doesn’t have the HCSB notes. I will continue to use the app because of my investment but I am just sad that it is so expensive to make God’s word available to people electronically these days.

Bible Study. I use this app every day! I enjoy the using the different translations and the Resource Guide. I feel this is a good investment. The App and a version or two are free but you can purchase Bible translations and resources also. I used to carry big books around in a large book bag and now it's all on my phone!

Search.. I have experienced great difficulty in getting favourable results when using search. I wish I had some notes on how to use search more effectively. Any advice. Thanks.

My personal Bible for many years now.. I have hundreds of notes on many verses using the note feature in this app. I can review and add notes on my journey with Jesus as the years go by. Updates and constant maintenance by Olive Tree help everything work without a hitch. Highly recommended.

Thank you!. It’s about time someone choose to God instead of they own pocket. I want to support people like that in anyway shape or form I can because freely you have been given. Freely you gave. I do not like to sign in for anything next thing you know you getting email from everyone your inbox it full with ads. I think we should bless abundantly others by making it possible for me to have the bible offline and different version. Ps. Let us know if we wants to help out your web address or email. We love to be of service to those who choose to either served God or choose not too. Thank you.

Very Good. I like a lot

Best Bible app. Best Bible app

Very helpful in many ways. Olive Tree Bible app has served me well over the years since I downloaded it. It has many useful tools and I like the opportunity to add to my library. If possible, I would like to see more options of manipulating the text if especially in notes. Thank you for making it freely available.

100 fold. Very easy to navigate the app. It enhanced my studies of the holy scripture 100 fold

Jesus is Lord. Thank you all for your app I love it thanks and I would like the Thompson Chain study Bible one day

Exceptional. This is what I use to put my bible studies together,it's so easy to jump to different books, chapters and verses. I would be lost without it.

Take away. I really enjoyed the app and had a number of Bible versions but it stopped working. To fix it I had to uninstall it and then when I reinstalled it all my Bible versions where gone. 😔

Many oppositions.. The app is easy to use and so many options

This app is so awesome!. I thanks God for this App! It helps me to read, study and understand his word. I love the layout, various settings and available adjustments, variety of free and paid resources, etc. I have gotten a lot of value from the ESV Study Bible with the Strongs Concordance, as I find the ESV translation very well done, the study notes helpful in gaining understanding and finding related passages, as well the Strong’s Greek and Hebrew concordances providing easy access to definitions and info for the words used to translate. Amazing, amazing, amazing and God bless you for helping people know God more through access to His Word and various other God inspired materials. Thank you God for sending your Son to save us and the Holy Spirit to lead us into all truth, including through time spent with God in His Word!

Love it. The Bible is the infallible word of God And this app make it easy read

Bible App is so helpful. It allows me to highlight and mark passages that really speak to me & make notes to both come back to in future to reflect. I can quickly adjust to a new passage and it’s more user friendly than other apps. Thank you for designing the features for the user to grow spiritually.

Best Bible Study app. I love this app. I have been using it for over 10ths!!!

Great. Use it all the time.

Great resource. Easy to find passages and references and very easy to use

Daily dose of encouragement. I love the daily scripture verses from this app. Often times it is exactly what I needed to be reminded of.

Bible program. Very good

Olive Tree. This APP is so Helpful. Thank you!

Reliable and comprehensive. Thank you for making this app possible and understandable. I am blessed to have been able to find and learn from Olive Tree.

Bible in Amharic language. I use it on my PC too and liked the interface + everything in this Bible app. Additionally it’s great if you can add languages other than English like Bible in Ethiopic (Amharic) language. Considering it’s one of the oldest Bible version out there in the world. But overall… it’s great and keep it up!

Works Great!. Luv the simplicity of the Bible app!

Thanks. Olive tree Bible is an efficient and inspirational tool I use in my feeding on God's holy word.

Good biblical information readily available.. Thank you for a app that is easy to navigate, personalize and works offline. That is very much appreciated !

Merci!. Merci pour votre beau travail, plus performant que l'ancien.

This app is great. This app is great

Great!!. I’ve been using this app for years - it is a great app!!! Well done.

Nice features. Has the tools and features you need to study and read. The footnotes pop up nicely in smaller windows, and footnotes can be accessed within pop-up windows to follow a theme, very handy!

This is the best Bible app. I had this Bible app before but I lost it and I have been looking for it but I couldn’t remember the name. I glad I discovered it again. I love how it’s built and how it displays the chapters and the verses.

Almost perfect!. I really miss to have the verse of the day in French. It’s just a “technicality” for you but it would be greatly appreciated for me and all my friends and family…

Very Good but can be better!. I have watched this app transit from a reader into a study app and I'm not disappointed. It's quite rich and easy to use. I've been a fan of eSword for over fifteen years but when I bought an iPad they had no iOS version so I switched to Olive Tree. By the time they came out with their app, I had no great push to switch back. But there're a few things I miss from my eSword . . – ability to compare a verse across all available translations - ability to read from my favorite translations in a parallel bible fashion and still have my notes open to make notes I wish to suggest that u use tabs in order to ease switching from view to view. It can be quite laborious switching from my notes back, back, back to go copy a scripture from another translation in the Resource section and then forward, forward, forward to my notes again. But on the whole, the app is good and I'm not contemplating switching away yet, more so it now has the edge of automatic sync across all my devices and it saves my docs in the cloud store. Its worthy of d stars! I will give it d final one when I see this improvements. Lanready

Best Bible App Available!. Easy to use, quality resources, no need for a wifi connection. Hands down the best Bible app!

Very good. Very good app.

Love this Bible App. I love the Olive Tree Bible App because I can underline parts of verses, or a single word, and re-underline or highlight with a different colour.

Simply the Best Bible APP. I manage several different Bible apps and I find this is the app I use most. I’m reading my Bible daily and being able to enjoy the experience even greater because of the intuitive function of this app.

Olive Tree Bible App. I enjoy the ease of using this App, the quality resources that it has available either free or to buy. I have not found another Bible App that is as good as this one!

Very useful. Works great. Use it regularly to keep me accountable with my daily reading plan

Great bible app. This is the best Bible app I have used

I cannot abide the advertising. Imagine everytime you opened your Bible there were flyers inside selling you products. Everytime I open the app there is an annoying badge which I cannot seem to dismiss, without reading or at least opening all the “messages”. It seems distasteful to me. Send me an email if you need to advertise or communicate, but please let my time with the scripture be uninterrupted.

Excellent 🙂. I love this app!

Review. I have no idea what I’m supposed to be doing

Best. Best I’ve seen and happy I discovered it. Good elements free, more paid. Multiple highlight options/colours; scrollable ‘Picture in Picture’ verse cross reference so you don’t leave the main text to read the cross reference text; any portion of a verse or passage can be selected you are not limited to selecting by verse; you can tag your selections using custom tags in addition to making notes; searchable by chapter and verse, highlighted scripture or by tags. Well thought out and everything connected in the database. To the app creators: Kudos to you on how you’ve treated God’s word.

Bible app. Easy to navigate and well laid out. Would be even better if there were more translation options.

Excellent resource. I have used this app for many years now and really like it. I do not make use of more than half of its features. One complaint I have is the “messages” section of the app. You have to open the message to get rid of the notification. I rarely purchase any of these resources so it is just an annoyance I could do without.

Larry Kalynuk. Love the app.

Best bible app I have found. After searching through several dozen apps, this is so far the best free app available in the store! Well done!

Bible Study App. Great tool to use for Christian growth!

Renewed Passion For The Word. I only switched to this app because the one I was using started to freeze and quit working. So after trying some other apps I landed on this one. At first, the customization was overwhelming but then after watching the tutorial videos and making it look the way I like it, the app is just about perfect for me. Note taking in parallel or over the top of the text is great. Accessing commentaries, dictionaries, and other resources is simple. The gesture shortcuts seemed silly at first, now I use them all the time. This app allows you to swim in the shallow waters of the word and grow in your faith. AND it allows you to dive into the deep end of what the Word of God has to offer. I’m grateful to Olive Tree team for their yeoman work on this app. Your coding team and GUI team have done amazing work. Thank you. I sometimes spend more than two hours in the word. I’ve never done that before!

I keep coming back. I’ll be the first one to admit that I’m not the best at keeping up with my Bible reading system. I have lapses of “too busy, too tired, too distracted, too selfish” that pull me away from this foundation far too often. Praise God for His grace that pulls me back. Olive Tree Software and resources are the lifeline He uses often. I’ve been using the Grant Horner 10 strands system for a long time and when I finally get tired of being in the desert I always come back to it. Olive tree Bible systems and their provision of this particular reading plan make that process of coming back more rewarding and sustainable. Now if I could just convince your developers to allow for the plan to continue on past the 250 days it takes to do it just once… Then the Strands would go on infinitely weaving the tapestry of God’s Word just as designed by Professor Horner. Hint hint.

Good app. One really annoying bug.. This is an excellent app for reading and studying the Bible. What is particularly useful to me is the ability to review different translations of the same passage, either in English, or another language like Spanish, German, or Latin. There is one flaw, though, in my preferred translation that I hope can be fixed. The New American Bible, Revised Edition is one of the English versions approved by the Catholic Church, and is the one used in North American liturgies. Unfortunately, the footnotes - which are very important to making the NABRE a Catholic Study Bible, since they cover historical, cultural, and linguistic information to help understand a verse, chapter, or section - are incorrectly linked. Tapping a footnote indicator (a * or a letter) jumps to the wrong note, usually between 1 1/2 and 2 chapters away, making it very difficult to find the correct note for the verse you are reading. For this reason alone, I cannot use this app for Bible Study. If the developers read this review, please fix the footnote issue on the NABRE.

Absolutely the best Bible app out there. The level of refinement and functionality packed into these apps ( its available on macOS as well) is amazing. Everything is designed for the best possible reading experience. I can have my NKJV version with built in Strongs Concordance with simultaneous linked dual reading of the Amplified Bible and smoothly go DEEP into scripture in a truly magnificent way. Even the audiobooks are amazing. I just discovered after buying the wonderful Word of Promise audiobook bible that the Olive Tree Bible App lets me immersion read along with the narration (where you can crank up the reading speed up to 3x and read along with the narration super fast). There is so much more I can’t even mention about how great this app is. Give it a try, especially with some of the better texts like Bibles with built in Strongs Concordance and I think you will have no regrets.

My favorite bible app but not perfect. The app is great but a couple of things could improve it: 1. Change the highlighter to a solid color instead of the gradient. When you use a dark background, it doesn’t look good. This is especially true with the red text of Jesus. It makes the text hard to read with the dark background bleeding through. 2. Allow me to set a default note icon. The yellow star is easiest for me to see but I have to constantly navigate to it to select it. 3. Have an option to remove all bookmarks OR have a special bookmark that is your current page you are reading. When I set it on another page I would like it removed it from the previous page. 4. It would be really nice to be able to set/increase the line spacing of the text. 5. It would be awesome if your notes weren’t tied to a specific translation. I know it might be hard since each one has different wording, but maybe you could have a special “verse” note that would be for an entire verse, which could be transferable between translations. I would use that one exclusively then. I am using the CSB right now but will probably switch to the new NASB coming out in 2021, when Lockman has a new study Bible 5. I think the intro to each book should be in the main pane with the Bible and be in the book TOC instead of the commentary side bar, but that is minor.

Powerful and affordable Bible study software. One of the best apps for studying the word of God. This app might not be as powerful as Logos, but it is affordable. Some of my favorite features: 1. The Strong’s Bibles. These Bibles with Strong’s words are reasonably priced. Tapping a word brings up a pop up with the original language word and its definitions as well as other occurrences of the word. You can view other occurrences right in the pop up. 2. The resource center. Many of the resources available on their store are linked to the resource center. A linked Bible dictionary will have automatically display the definition of, say, a cubit when reading a verse that mentions a cubit. 3. Powerful search feature allows the user to search very specific words and phrases in a specified range. 4. Items purchased on one device can be used on other devices on almost any platform. 5. Powerful reading plans that are flexible rather than the rigidity of other apps. 6. Parallel reading and split view allows you to compare passages and translations. 7. Highly customizable and in active development. My biggest complaint: include a way to display history. When jumping around in multiple chapters and books, it would be a real time saver to have clickable history links.

Great Bible Study Tool!. I’ve been using this app for over 10 years. Love it! I really enjoy being able to read my bible in multiple translations, lookup definitions, and reference commentaries - all very quickly in real time. It really helps me get the most out of reading my bible! My only criticism is the cost of purchasing all the translations and commentaries inside the app gets expensive. I purchased them many years ago so I’ve definitely gotten my money’s worth. But a digital distribution platform is a more efficient/less expensive way for authors/publishers to sell books. Hopefully that cost savings will help lower their in-app pricing over time. Someone needs to come out with a monthly subscription model for Christian material - like what Apple offers for music, digital entertainment and audio books. It would be a big hit!

Vertical scrolling puts it at the top.. Vertical scrolling: even between chapters & books: because of that I use it almost exclusively to read. The other big deal to me is how the “notes” feature works ( the notes are RIGHT THERE WHERE you make them,,,, none of the other apps do so. And since the Bible versions I read are available, I am thrilled & content with this app. The developer responded to my previous review, & explained how to use the highlighter ,,, THANKS! You can highlight any # of words at a time, or a whole verse. So now i heartily give it 5 stars, A few quibbles though: the notes in the ASV are not rendered in this app ... they are in iBible-Study HD, & the KJV with Strong’s #s is too expensive here, inasmuch as you can get it FREE elsewhere. This study tool is NOT copyrighted; it’s in the PUBLIC DOMAIN. I’d pay for this app if it wasn’t free; but can’t use it exclusively because of the quibbles above.

Got rid of the clutter. HelloOOOooo...Hey. Hey... Study was always...hmmm, what's the word...procrastination...kinda of a pain actually...too much stuff, if you really do a study...just simple taking notes and flipping through pages enough as it was... With my ipad (tablet) and the app...what a difference...pretty much everything i need is all right in front of me...and if you set things up to your liking, navigating a breeze...a tip for ya...use the store for your study literature...now you have it all in one place (the app)...tagging, notes, varied color highlighters (with shading intensity), split screening...lots of stuff with just a touch of your finger (I suggest a digital stylus...i use the Apple Pencil...nice pointy tip) Study way more enjoyable and now a breeze...not so much an "event" now...turn your tablet on, load the app, go......sweet

What's it's done for me !. Some people say reading through the Bible is not a good way to study the Bible ? That it becomes "just a required reading". What I wanted others to know is what it's done for me. The "Bible Reading Plans" with this App have caused me to be more "dedicated" to the reading of God's word. You can't help but gain insight and knowledge of God's word if you "read" it. The plans help you do that daily. The reading planes helped me to stay focused. I've found it to be habit forming, the more I read, the more I want to. This App has been a true blessing to me and my life!! I continue to encourage others to use its limitless resources as well. The daily devotional reading that the App has is also a great way to start my day. Life becomes rushed and those reminders are a great way to keep us focused on Christ and what’s truly important. My prayer is that you would give this App a try and become dedicated to read and study God's word. God Bless ❤️Jim

Great app but.... I live this app and have used it for years. I’ve been digging deeper and deeper into God’s Word, even starting one of their Year long Bible Study that are built in. Two tiny things one, the app takes up a lot of storage, so if the developers could find a way to make all the data smaller, that would be great! But it’s not that big of a deal my main issue is when you hold on a word to “lookup,” you have to buy a dictionary to use from the app, but anywhere else( as in another app, website etc.) , Apple would let us look it up on the web in a tiny window box thing, so that’s really annoying too because sometimes I want to see the word’s definition or whatever, but it doesn’t work unless a, Bible Tree has defined the word, which has happened to me 2 after all these years, or if I was to buy the dictionary, so yeah. So I Liek the app but those bugs do bug me

Very Good. Whatever your persuasion and/or needs, this app is the doorway to ongoing, life-long and productive Bible study. I have been using this app with many of its associated publications since smart phones and tablets hit the market, and it is invaluable as a Biblical resource. If you have never used this app before, just be aware that the app is/was free, then you purchase the modules and publications from the developer's store, (available from within the app), that you want. As you accumulate materials they are all kept within this app and are easily accessible at all time and across all of your devices that are on the same account. There are a few free versions of the Bible, (at least one), and for purchases you will need to setup an account, again, from within the app. I have been and continue to be very happy with this developer and their products.

Went from great App to creepy. Updated review as the requirement to send data to FaceBook has been removed. However, the publishers privacy policy has not changed and is pretty invasive for a Bible App publisher. According to the publishers privacy policy: When using the Bible app, they collect "Geolocation data", PII such as "name, postal address, email address and telephone and/or mobile numbers" and then "Supplement your personal information collected from you with additional information from publicly and commercially available sources, and/or information from Company affiliates and our business partners" (credit card profile data?) along with the identification of "your browser and/or device with other browsers or devices you use". "On our sites, apps and/or emails we and our third-party service providers may obtain information about your activities to provide you with advertising about products and services tailored to your individual interests. We and our third-party service providers also may obtain information for this purpose from third-party websites and apps." ... "we can track your online activities over time and across third-party websites and apps by obtaining information through automated means, as described above" When all you want to do is study the Bible.... These creeps are studying you. Although I am a long time user, I would like a refund - I did not agree to this.

Efficient & well made. I have used this app for over three years and I’m super impressed with how efficient it is. It helps me with writing sermons, using other translations, reading commentaries, looking up definitions of words quickly, saving verses that I was trying to memorize through highlights, access off-line so I can read the Bible wherever I am, slick devotions that I can go through whenever and wherever, multitasking through the second window that allows you to read another version and compare or even have your notes up while you read. I also love the Psalms in Metre, which is a free translation of every Psalm into metre which makes it super easy to play on my guitar. Thank you for continuing to make this free; it is great to be able to use a well-made app that I can learn more about God with without worrying about having to move to another app.

My Bible for 2 Years and Going. What to do when you’re in love with Jesus and all things electronic? Seek out an electronic way of getting into God’s word. I tried this app and several others. I started with YouVersion but came across Olive Tree almost three years ago and now I use it exclusively on my iPad and iPhone. What brought me over to Olive Tree was the ability to bring in commentaries, maps, and all other sorts of resources in one place. Add to that Notes and this is way better than any other Bible app I’ve tried. I can say without reservation that this app has facilitated manifold improvement in my Bible studies. If I could add one thing to Olive Tree then that would be a better way of tracking my prayer life. Notes don’t work well for me to track prayer. Guess I’ll add that as a prayer request.

Thank You for Giving Me a Faith Life That Bears Fruit. As a queer person of faith, the self proclaimed “church” is a death trap of hate speech and spiritual abuse at worst, and hand wringing “progressive” environments primarily focused on their own pain of “deconstruction” than actually reconciling with and amending the profound harm done to the world in god’s name. Thanks to olive tree I have been able to establish a rich life of solitary worship that fills me with purpose I can carry out in to the world and love the individuals in my life exactly how they are, and meet them exactly where they are at. Turning away from the “gospel” of hate is the correct response from the law of love written on their hearts! The light of this simple wisdom shines for people who ask for more out of curiosity, and I pull out my phone to show them how I use the strong’s links to unpack teachings that have been used to inflict death, and found the life that was hidden inside them. Turns out, worshiping symbols of conquest is actually idolatry. Claiming cultural supremacy is actually hubris! This becomes so clear and easy to explain through the direct access of the original languages, and it has brought my personal studies to life and led others to reconsider their own ideas about Jesus and the way of life centered on love for neighbor that he exemplified for us. I use this app every day and my life has been transformed by it. Thank you!!

My Daily Study Resource. For the layman or woman who goes to the Word daily to glean and thresh out the grains of truth, Olive Tree has the best books available at your finger tips. The split screen allows me to sync a commentary of choice or another Bible. For example, I have the Word Study Bible - which gives me the Greek or Hebrew word and definition. From that screen, I can follow from the definition to other scriptural references. Meanwhile, on my split screen, I may have Thompson Chain Reference Bible or most often Matthew Henry Original Commentary. ( I do not like the concise commentary). However, I can pull up maps, or Bakers Pictoral dictionary. I still love books. Bot I don't have time to have books stacked by my chair, while I search the scriptures. Now it's all at my finger tips and can go wherever I go. I am so grateful for Olive Tree online Bible and Resources.

Intuitive, Always Improving, Inspired. I have been using Olivetree for over 15 years, maybe 20. Since it was on the Palm, remember that. I have seen them evolve into the most useful and best designed app there is. I use it every day. At your finger tips you have multiple bibles, an instant concordance, pop up views, synchronized windows, the list goes on. All the references you buy from them are sorted to the verse you are on in the Reference Guide. Very powerful. It keeps all your notes, from device to device. Like a bible you write in but there is more room and not all the paper you eventually throw away. The staff is amazing. They are always helpful, listen to feedback and if there is a bug, they are on it. You would think I am a sales person for their app at my church especially. If I see you with an ipad or smart phone, I'm telling you about Olivetree. Oh I'm not a sales person, just an electrical engineer. God bless you guys!

Excellent App. I really enjoy this Bible app. I compare this with other translations like with the NWT, and I can see how the NWT was written to fit a certain narrative. The NIV, KJV, and the NKJV are far better. John 8: 3-11 was omitted from the NWT, these are very important scriptures that should be accounted for, and left in the gospels, because it speaks about mercy, and that no one is perfect or without sin, accept for Jesus of course. The book of Revelation 22: 18. For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; 19. and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Best bible app. That I have ever had!!. It is great!!! I've had the Olive Tree Bible ever since I've had my phone in 2003. I love it and use it everyday to read the Word of God! I really love all the improvements that you have made! I can't do without this app. It helps me find scripture fast and I can share it with anyone . Thank you for making it possible to share God's word! I'm still loving this bible app. The most important thing that I like about this is you are there whenever I need to hear from God, this is my living water and I've got Strong's concordance and that also helps me with understanding the meaning of what the Word means to us in everyday terms. I still go to this every day. Anytime that I have had a problem your staff has always been there to help. Thank you so much for being there for just the little things.

Great Feature Set. I've been using this app for several years, now. Mostly I stay with it because it has a great set of features, like no other. Highlighting down to the word level, inserting notes anywhere, a split view option and a good collection of supported gestures that make it easy to navigate quickly anywhere all combine to make a really useful study tool. The reliability issues the app has had in the past have seemed quite well cleaned up. It has been several years, now, since any real problems have prevented my using it. While I’m glad for this, I’m very disappointed that this latest release has taken away the ability to search within an open resource, such as a second translation in “parallel view.” I used this frequently, and now will have to constantly switch between OT and another app to do this. Why would they take that functionality away? I sure hope they reconsider this serious deficiency.

Solid, Dependable software. I HIGHLY recommend the Olive Tree Bible app. I am a “note taker” and after filling & wearing out 2 physical bibles, I started searching for a reliable software option. After trying several other companies, I decided on Olive Tree. This app has the best options for note taking, highlighting & cross reference I’ve ever seen. And after a computer dies, or I upgrade a device, I load Olive Tree on the new device, sign-in and ALL my notes, highlighting are there. What a relief that is as I teach small groups and rely on this app daily. Also being able to change fonts, font size, etc. I can customize the bible to suit my style. And if I change translations? All notes transfer over too. Don’t hesitate to install this app and build a solid library around it. Thank You Olive Tree!

My favorite bible app!. I almost never use other bible apps since I discovered Olive Tree a few years ago. It is most user friendly as I prepare for teaching Sunday school adult class. Features such as the instant availability of related scriptures built into the ESV version, allows me to use the references without leaving the page. The note taking feature allows me to take notes during sermons and to cut and paste them to the notepad on my iPad. I’m then able to share the notes on Facebook or with individuals. Being visually impaired, I use the option of black background with white letters and am able to use large, yet not gigantic font sizes comfortably.. I use the pop-up and pull down feature which affords easy access to research materials and mechanical features. Truly an excellent aid in my Christian growth through God’s word.

Issues. Update: support has been in contact again to resolve the issue. the last app update seems to have improved the issues. I truly hope our user experience will continue to improve from here. I have had this app for years and I hope they will continue to improve the user experience of this app-as it has been important to me. I will continue to update. I contacted the support department and they did not resolve my issue. I have had this app for years, with no problems. In the last few months, I have been extremely disappointed as my user experience went downhill. Verses don’t copy correctly and scrolling features no longer work, the pages now split to make it unreadable. I have invested a lot of money on added resources within this app and I am truly disappointed.

Great program but highlights what it still needs. This program is the best in the mobile bible reading market. Focuses on ease of reading and study. Following a daily reading plan is a joy. It makes me want to be able to create my own! The store and the easy management of books and commentaries I’ve purchased is really a benefit. Note taking is useful but awkward and probably the roughest part of the program — providing the greatest opportunity to shine in the next version! The biggest shortfall is the limited formatting of notes. Just your alphabet and numbers here folks. No bold, underline, headings, italics, bullets - things we take for granted in even the most basic editor. Note organization is awkward. This stands out because the rest of the program really shines organizationally. The notes pane cries out to provide a journaling function. Bible journaling is resurging and this tool could provide a real catalyst for that important habit. Related here would be ability to create your own study journal that syncs with the book/chapter/verse you are currently reading. Wouldn’t it be useful to see your thought from the last time you read John 10? I continue to invest in this program and it continues to improve on a great product. Moreover, it has helped me grow in knowledge and faith thru God’s Word. And that’s the point.

The best overall Bible application. Overall this Bible application is hands down the most useful tool in growing deeper in your understanding of the Word and of God Himself. It has the most add-ons that are fully integrated into each Bible version (e.g., maps, Strong's numbers, cross-references, etc.). It also has more supplemental materials from books on Apologetics to sermons by famous ministers to historical resources, and so on. It is an indispensable tool for growing in your faith and knowledge, per 2 Peter 1:5 For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge.... The look and feel of this version is excellent, but the integration with so many other useful tools, including embedded hyperlinks that instantly pull up the referenced passage or footnote really brings the whole experience of learning God’s word to the next level.

Awesome Bible App!. I love the easy operation of this app, the ability to highlight. Even some places that I highlight, I want to emphasize, I underline first, then I'm able to take an important piece of the highlighted area and further highlight with green marker. (You can choose colors for your highlighting preferences). I love the fact that you can compare 2 different translations at once and the pop ups for research. I love, love the fact I can actually have more than one olive tree app that all sync together. With several devises they sync from on to the other plus I can actually copy a section to a note or the note app from one device and paste it in another device. It's like having several bibles and commentaries open in front of you! I absolutely love Olive Tree Apps. After using these for years, I wouldn't ever walk across the street for those "free" bible apps! Never!

Driving me crazy.... I own a few Bible apps and have preferred Olive Tree to Logos for general ease of use, but recently Olive Tree has required multiple attempts to log in every time I start it up, no matter whether I'm using it on my phone or iPad or computer. I'm about done with the program and app. I notice another user with the same problem was advised to contact customer support for a solution. Thats nonsense. I own the app and the books. Stop interfering with my ability to use them by requiring a login each time. Logos doesn't do this. ( I did get a response from Olive Tree about this issue. They say it occurs when the app is installed on several different platforms. The reason I am impatient with them is that this is a recent change, and I’ve been using Olive Tree for years without this issue cropping up before. They've done something to the log in or registration process that broke it, and I suspect it's the result of their trying to tighten things up. If not, vwhy change something that worked perfectly well for years?)

Suggestion. Love, love, love this app! Only thing I’ve noticed that can be improved is the highlight feature. When I want to highlight more than one verse at a time to save my highlights “across all my translations” I seem to only be able to do that on my phone by clicking the the number of the verse and selecting the range of how many verses I want to highlight at once. (I have an iPhone if that matters.) When I am on my MacBook though, when I click the verse number to highlight it, it doesn’t give me the option of highlighting more than that one verse at a time so I have to click on each individual verse and highlight it over and over again if I want it to save across all my translations. I haven’t seen where it gives me the option to highlight more than one verse at a time when you click on the number so I can highlight multiple verses at once when I am on the app through my MacBook.

Best Bible Study App. Many reasons why I love this app. I’m just going to speak from my heart as I’m writing. Olive Tree bible study app, is the best on the market when it comes to bible app and electronic software. There is so much we who loves God’s Word can do with Olive Tree, there are many features and many ways to study ,look up references, lexicons, maps, word studies, sentence phrase studies, in general biblical full grammatical Greek/Hebrew studies etc.....all in Olive Tree. The unique blessing of this app is the way Olive Tree was developed, WOW.....you can actually develope your personal bible study systematically in several way utilizing Olive tree pop-up windows to other biblical features. HONESTLY, every Pastor, Minister, Laymen, saint, evangelist Christian Believer who Truly, Loves God’s Word NEEDS OLIVE Tree bible Study App. It’s a Must have, the best Bible study App on the Market, thank you Olive Tree for enriching my spiritual life and bible studies much blessings to you and all the Family developers of Olive Tree. God Bless, Thank you.

Enlightening. Unless you read Hebrew and Greek, you can’t really read the Bible. You must rely on others to tell you what it says. One way to get closer to the meaning is to read several translations at once. I have the NIV, King James, Young’s Literal, the Common English (too simple; I don’t recommend it), the Orthodox Study Bible, Jerome’s Vulgate (Latin), and Strong’s version of the NRSV and the ESV. I can read the same verse or chapter from several different translations and see how similar or different they are and then decide how significant those differences might be. The Strong’s versions allow me to check any word in the original language. It’s pretty hard to fall for the idea that any single translation is absolutely correct. It has been good motivation for me to get down my dad’s (Presbyterian preacher) Greek and Hebrew language books and learn some of the original languages.

So close, but still not there.... There’s still one commentary not available: John Gill Commentary of the Whole Bible. ———————- It's been years and still missing some features others have. While this APP has upped its game over the years, there are still some features I would like to see. For example, cross device reading locations. (I.E. Reading in one location would automatically be the location you would be at on another device. Continuity, as Apple would call it.) The ability to hand off items from one device to another. The Resources Guide is nice, but you should be able to turn it off totally, if you know it will not be used. Olivetree will be around for some time. In that, I am thankful. You can come back to them anytime and all your purchases are there and waiting. (This information was after contacting support.)

Satisfied. My brother shared this App with me. I was already an avid user of another Bible App. I was dubious about OliveTree being as customizable as my brother claimed. But on my brothers recommendation, I decided to try it. I chose a reading plan, set my custom highlighters and labeled them. Then I set my notation icons ( there were plenty to choose from). I will say I had some frustration in figuring out how this App organized its content.... but I persisted until I could find my way around, so I could truly try it out. I was pleasantly surprised how well it has retained my customization with hi-lights and notations AND has flawlessly synced my phone with my PC. My brother was right.....again! I have used the App for 4 years now, and have greatly enjoyed it. I recommend it to anyone who likes customizable highlighting and annotations.

It’s the Bible. I recently switched to this from another popular Bible app, because I was so easily distracted by all the other content in the other app. When I open this app I’m right where I left off, and they did the Reading History feature just right so I can work my way through several passages simultaneously. And I love the pop out view that shows cross-references. And I also like that it’s a library for other spiritual resources I may want. Four stars because it’s a bit confusing to understand which resources will integrate how with the text. I bought a particular dictionary they were promoting but can’t figure out how to look up words effectively straight from the text. I was hoping I could look up words and it would go off the word in the original text but it doesn’t seem to be the case.

The Joy of being able look up a phrase in Word in an instant. There is no way to adequately describe The Joy of being able look up a phrase in the Word in an instant and copy and paste it into your prayer journal or study you are doing to engrave it deeper and deeper into your heart and soul. Thank you Olive Tree for offering instantaneous research of the Bible, maps, and commentaries of men and women who’ve come before us and spent their lives researching God’s Word, Jesus and their gift of the Holy Spirit to us who may not have the time or resources to do the research ourselves. What a time to be alive. The resources others had to walk or drive to a library or church to look up is now available to us all in our pocket. Amazing!!! If man can develop the technology to do this, IMAGINE what God has the power to do even quicker through the Holy Spirit Helper and telepathic prayer around the globe in an instant. Thank you Jesus and thank you Olive Tree. Doc S

DO NOT UPDATE IN BOOKS IN OLIVE TREE!!!. DO NOT UPDATE ANY BOOKS IN THIS APP!!! I just received a offer to update 16 of the books I have in this Olive Tree Bible app & updates them. As the last book updated, I thought to myself, will my Bible notes that I created in some of these Bibles that I have, disappear? So, I went into a couple of the Bible’s in this app just to see, & my fears were confirmed!!!! I do extensive note taking in these Bibles. I lost ALL of my notes in the Bible’s that I updated. I CANNOT find a “contact us” function to let these people know what they did. DO NOT update any of the individual books in this app if you have notes in them. I just purchased the NASB Strong’s & found it was a waste of my money. It has the same definition as the KJV Strong’s does for Hosea 5:2’s word for “SLAUGHTER” vs. “depravity.” You think that the OliveTree would warn of this. I want my money back!

Best Digital Bible Experience. I have yet to find another Bible app that I enjoy as much as this one. The thing that puts this app over the top in my opinion is the ability to create and title highlighters. I can highlight the same verse millions of times if I want to, and categorize it whatever…some verses I have highlighted with my “memorize” color AND my “prayers” color, etc. I haven’t found another app that does this. That also means I can read my Bible and highlight with a different color every year if I want to keep record of things that stood out to me and review them. I also love the resources at my fingertips. The only thing I wish I could do was to take notes with my Apple Pencil, but that is a minor thing and won’t stop me from making this my go-to app. Great job to the develop team!

Version 7.11.6. P. Limato on August 17, 2022. UPDATE of my review of Olive Tree Bible App: It has been a while since my original review of the Olive Tree Bible App. First, let me apologize for my review. The developers of the app have not only addressed the issues I had originally had issues with but have exceeded my expectations. I use this app every day and use it almost exclusively for sermon & Bible study preparation. Thank you Olive Tree for an excellent product and for the excellent updates made to this app. Second, I heartily recommend the Olive Tree App to anyone regardless of their knowledge & level of experience in the study of God’s Word. Thank you Olive Tree for all of the work that it has taken to produce a uniquely intuitive product and process for being more knowledgeable in the Scriptures. God bless you & keep up the great work.

Frustrating to use in Windows. The app works well with iOS and Mac OS but there are repeated problems with the Windows based version. For a period of time, the app was unusable: when I would click to open it, it would open and immediately shut down. Fortunately I had the iPhone App. After a period of time they updated the app and it worked again. Now, the app works Ok, except when I click on the cart to go into their store; when I click on purchased (items purchased) the app crashes ; closes. Kicks me out of the program. The worst thing is that they don’t assume any responsibility. They always push it back “to me and my computer. My system has problems”. Very frustrating. I don’t have any of these problems with Logos. Olive Tree, fix the problem and don’t blame the customer’s computer.

Organization of the app. I am able to use the scripture while I am listening to His word through my podcasts. The note taking capabilities make it simple for me to make notes just like I have always done by writing in an actual notebook with an actual pen. During private private bible study, my Marty Henry Commentary is opened to the direct same scripture I am studying. Having to bring up the commentary and having to “look up” the same scripture again and again would be very trying. Thank you for such a good format. Someone who helped design it perhaps was a student of God’s scripture and knew how the process works and the need for several different sources are needed when doing so. So good to not have to drag out so many books. Continue doing what you are doing. Sincerely, Marsha Dille

Saved Me. This app has helped me find God again, and in doing so, I have been able to give myself to God of my own free will. Many people like myself discovered God in childhood, not through themselves, but through others (parents, family, church). This in my opinion is not and was not God’s intention. There is a difference between indoctrination and willful obedience. One does not require consent, the latter does. I’m grateful for the introduction in my childhood but in retrospect it damaged my relationship so badly with God that I didn’t think it would be possible to forgive myself enough to allow the love, light, and peace of our Creator back into my spirit. With Olive Tree and it’s many different guides and supplementals - I have so many paths of support now. God is the light and the Way! Peace to all.

The plan text and reference bible guides you!. I learned a lot more using this Bible app than I ever had in prior years... just realizing that what I interpreted was not always right... I now understand the Bible for the words I read along with the app reference guide, “wow what an eye opener!” The Bible can be complicated to break down, and the things we interpret I’m not actually what God is saying With use of the reference guides I can no longer believe the instructions in the Bible were just for the days of OLD.. The Bible was written to carry us from generations to generations we are living in those times now... so even the parables still ring true and the reference materials provided along with this Bible made it very clear to understand we still need GODS guidance daily and the daily reading plans were a major part of this discovery! Again... this was a great experience I’m great-full for this app I love this app

One of my favorite bible apps.. One of the things I love about the Olive Tree Bible App is that it’s developers are always maintaining the app. It’s one of the smoothest running bible apps I have, and the library of in app purchase resources is second to none. From multiple bible translations, to study bibles, to commentaries, to Greek and Hebrew lexicons, etc., this app has it all. Yes…some of the in app resources can be quite pricey at times, but to me….it’s worth every penny. To have an extensive library of bible translations, and a vast library of biblical resources at your fingertips, instead of having to find room for multiple books in my home, is absolutely wonderful. Thank you to all at Olive Tree, who continue to provide the products and services that you do. It has blessed me with the tools to faithfully exegete the scriptures. - ( i.e. …the meaning of the biblical text. )

Formatting feature is great but limited. The formatting feature is a wonderful addition but very limited in its capabilities. First of all, it is almost impossible to get the bullet numbering to recognize a sequence and continue it from 1, 2, 3, etc. Anytime you use the numbering bullet and you write a paragraph, when you move to the next number bullet, it starts at 1 and you have to manually change it to 2, 3, etc., Secondly, the formatting does not transfer to say a word document at all. It’s just a mess. If your notes are something you intend to print out on a word document, save yourself the hassle of doing it twice. Simply copy into word and then format there. Thirdly, it would be nice to have a highlighting feature as well. This is Bible notes and Bible readers love to highlight salient points, not only in the scriptures, but also in their notes. A color scheme for easier referencing etc. All in all a great feature but needs some improving to be totally beneficial. Kudos for finally getting this feature in place. PS: in future I hope there is a way to extract your Bible notes directly from the app into Word or similar app. By this I mean a bulk transfer feature as opposed to the tedious copy then paste of individual notes etc. Thanks for a great Bible app. I’m a dedicated customer.

Difficult controls & clumpy highlights.... I love that this is free, will sync with my desktop app, and offers devotionals. But the controls on this app aren’t intuitive. It’s a bad design. I’ve built apps myself and studied app design principles and this doesn’t abide by the simplest rule: that things should be self-explanatory. It’s hard to navigate and to locate features. I don’t have that problem with the YouVersion app. I also hate the clumpy highlights. They look awful. I only occasionally use this app. I much prefer the YouVersion app, though unfortunately it doesn’t have devotionals, just plans (some of which are just a few days long). Mostly I use this one for an occasional look at a devotional or when I’m looking for a quote I highlighted while using the desktop app (which, honestly, has some of the same design issues as this). Try to simplify things. Streamline. Make it easy to navigate. Consolidate controls. Take a hint from the YouVersion app. It’s much better in terms of design.

Thankful. I am so thankful for this app. I have had this app for about 7 years now. We have shared this app wherever we go. We have been using the reading plans for the last 5 years and it has become a lifeline—to knowing my Lord, my God. The use of cross reference is invaluable and being able to read (or look up the different Bible versions) and compare makes it easier to understand a passage. I love the references that are easily available to go deeper into certain passages in deepening my understanding of Truth. The ability to make notes in what the Spirit is teaching me, or in taking notes on a sermon and being able to read it again when you are reading through that particular verse again is invaluable. I keep saying if I lose my phone I will cry because of everything being in Olive Tree-my Bible-notes, etc.

Good Translation, but few linked resources. I think the translation is excellent. it is a very good balance between the more literal "word-for-word" and the Thought-for-thought" styles of translation. The final meaning of the text comes through. Ido wish the resources were richer, such as scan be found in the BlueLetter Bible. Other ESVs i.e. the hard copy ESVs have rich commentaries. But that may simply have not been the objective of the on-line version. But word of God, well-translated, is sufficiently powerful on its own to alter the hearts and minds of those who come to it in faith, bringing us closer to our Lord and master and to know His will for us. The ESV is my second favorite rendering of the Word of God in the English language, which has the most translations available of All modern languages. My most "favoritest" is still the King James probably because that is the translation I was raised o after my rebirth into the Kingdom of Jah.

Portable Bible and Reference Library. Having the Olive Tree Bible application helps me redeem my time. I can not only read my Bible from anywhere, but I can reference original language works and commentaries to enhance my reading. I use this both for personal reading and meditation as well as preparation for teaching. One disturbing thing that has begun recently is that my screen refreshes are often delayed — sometimes for 15-20 seconds. This happens when paging through the Bible and when looking up a word in the Strong’s versions of a given translation. I have a hunch this is due to support for synching settings and notes between devices. I just revised my synch settings to see if that fixes this. When I finished the settings change I had to restart the app because the screen didn’t refresh even after waiting a whole minute. Revising my synch settings worked! Now the performance is good again.

My Favorite Bible App. Update (Jan 21, 2018): This app and this company has come a long ways from the days of the disastrous 5.9.7 which I had given a one star rating (read below). I totally love what Olive Tree has done with the application with these last few updates. I was skeptical at first but when 6.1.x but after a while I got used to it. They are only getting better with each update. The amount of resources and the performance of the application as a whole is why I started using this application in the days of iOS 3 and I am glad the "beta testing" days of 5.9.x are behind us. 5.9.7 is total trash. It lost my ribbons and bookmarks giving me some idiotic “Oops!” message. They just updated to version 5.9.8 and I am not willing to go through the frustration again. I really love my Olive Tree App and cannot believe how bad this update is. I reverted to version 5.2.1 which I had on my backup drive and will spend the next, heaven knows how, long downloading everything. Update (Aug 09, 2014): I am glad I looked into it. I almost upgraded to 5.9.9 thinking that the disaster created by 5.9 was fixed. Never mind, I’ll stay in 5.5.4, it works. This is reminiscent of Windows Vista. The worse part is that Olive Tree is i denial. So it took two years to go from a functional app to this trash? Let me know when you have your act together before you bother me with your updates.

Love this app!. I finally found an app that had the Lutheran Study Bible (Augsburg Fortress). I purchased it and now I have all the study notes as I do my personal daily Bible study. It’s even more exciting that I can take my iPad to church and also use it for group Bible study. Olive Tree has a great user interface. I find it very easy to use. I love the variety of Bible reading plans you can choose from. I love that the green banner lets you know when you are coming to the end of your passage. The study center can be used to see Bible notes & commentary or if you don’t want it, you can close it. This is the best Bible app! The only thing I would add if I could would be an audio version so I can listen to my reading on those crazy days when it’s hard to find time to sit down to read. There is another Bible app that has this feature, so I do use it occasionally.
