App keeps crashing when trying to read articles. Hello. Love the app but it crashes every time I try to read the articles. I have updated and restarted phone and it’s a bug in the app. Please fix! Thank you.

What happened?. I paid $10 for the full app when I started graphic design classes and now I have to pay for a sub? Ugh... the UI design is better though... *edit* I was told by the developer I could restore my purchase and it would be fine. 🎉 thank goodness because it’s so much easier than carrying the deck around with me!

Only works in portrait orientation. Very nice app, does what it’s supposed to .. but it is locked to the portrait (vertical) orientation on the iPad, which makes it very awkward for me to use .. since I use the keyboard folio, which sits in the landscape (horizontal) orientation

Terrible, frustrating, unintuitive. It’s very difficult to navigate. I can see how they were trying to simplify the process but even the tutorials are unhelpful. I simply wanted to pull a palette from my photos and I could only take photos and not upload. Very frustrating and disappointing.

Broken. Don’t bother downloading. It’s been broken for, according to reviews, 4 whole months and it’s not been fixed. I’ve seen that you can maybe get it to work with location services, but that’s a hostile user experience so honestly f this app.

Crashes when I try to share. I really like the photo color identifier. Really helpful to me as an artist who needs to identify colors in a photo that I need to paint, but this app crashes every time I try to share. I’m on the free trial version now, but it isn’t worth paying for if this sharing feature doesn’t get fixed. I have a two year old iPad that is only 50% full. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled and that didn’t fix it either.

Been Broken for 2 years. Seems like this app has been broken for two years at least. I couldn’t even open it and just got a loading screen. Weird that Pantone or Apple even keeps it on the App Store!

Super fun but can’t load new photos. Love this idea. But every time I load a new photo into my camera on my phone from another source it doesn’t locate it until later I’ve tried closing it, shutting down my phone and it still doesn’t have it in there. Otherwise super cool idea.

Excellent!. I’ve found a purpose for this app that is not what it was intended to be used for, at least it’s not what I used to use Pantone 4 color process for. That being said it’s definitely 5 stars. Creating pallets from my own photos and images and then using those pallets as backgrounds for a new series I’m working on. I suppose if I was paying for access i might have something to complain about, but until that happens I’m good with it as is.

Update Crash???. I love this app as a whole, but since the latest update it hasn’t been loading at all. Which is such a shame, since I do like use this app for color options for design projects :(

Needs automatic updates. I enjoy this app but it never updates…I still have the color of the year from two years ago…that’s not helpful.

This is the first app I have felt compelled to mark down its rating.. Complete waste of your time. If you're a designer, just move right on passed this. It has a lot of potential, but what you get from the immediate download is an awful UI. The best way to illustrate this app is a color wheel that has been placed in a shredder, shaken up, and then displayed.

App doesn’t load on iPhone X. I have an older phone, but did not see a restriction on Devices. So far just says “load, hmmm this is taking longer than expected”. Not sure why it says that, but so far, it does not work.

Share feature doesn’t work. Using on iPhone and iPad: share feature doesn’t work. UX is confusing. Lots of great additional features, but hidden within just a few options. Interface needs to be rethought.

How is this worth $5 a month?. The app is extremely difficult to navigate, lots of hidden navigation and features. I paid for the subscription so that I could connect my adobe account, etc, and I couldn't get it to work. I want to like this but just can't.

Fun, when it works. The colors are not spot on, not matching what I see in pics, but it’s fun. App has not been working lately, doesn’t actually start up, getting a message that it’s taking longer than normal🤷🏻‍♂️ Great concept, though.

Works on one device but not the other.. I’m a huge fan of Pantone and everything you guys do. Unfortunately the app simply refuses to work on my 2020 iPad Pro, anytime I try to save/share it crashes instantly. I’ve tried re-downloading but still nothing. Works flawlessly on my iPhone, but I work from my iPad mainly. Hope you guys can figure it out!

Bloated & Buggy, Not Subscription Worthy. Paid for this app years ago when it was a single purchase. Now a monthly sub? No thanks. UX features unreadable type in dark mode. Locks up frequently. Bloated with social integrations no user wanted. This app will be replaced by something more focused on task and without a subscription.

Great app but Premium Tho. I love using this app, but the navigation is a bit weird when I want to quickly go in and search through my saved stuff or when I have to re select a color from an image. It also pushes its premium subscription a lot.

favorite app. it becomes the most powerful app in my phone. Use it for every design assignment m

I love this app, but please fix interface. The interface is not intuitive at all. Hard to find existing photos you’ve previously taken. That being said, I absolutely love the concept of this app, and it has been really inspirational finding/ explaining color palettes to clients.

Pantone is the Google of printed COLOR.. As Industrial designer and graphic designer I have used Munsell, DuPont, learned with ColorAid and whatever that older Japanese system was called. No one does it better than Pantone. I can’t imagine how they could do it better ..but .. I’ll bet they are working on that!

Color Nerd Fun. Low brow review - basically I just like pointing my phone at something and knowing what the Pantone colors are. I made and ASE file of my cat’s coat. I use it for professional stuff too. Blah blah blah. I made ASE files of my cat’s coat colors, and some crazy casino carpet, and a sweet neighborhood low-rider, and another ofvmy cat. Color nerd fun 100%.

Love it but..... The app great makes it easier to view Pantone colors quickly. One issue I noticed that you might want to fix is when your in the section with all the color of the year colors every single one is labeled color of year 2019 and I know for fact the 2019 color is living color and I know for certain the ones from previous years. Just thought I’d point it out.

Images function bug. Please fix the images bug that allows you to find colors off of image references. It only shows brown tones and nothing more. Works on my iPhone but not on iPad Pro 12.9 3rd gen. Thanks! Also would be great if we had cloud access to port our palettes over from multiple devices

Not pulling accurate colors from photos. I was ready to fall in love with this app... but it’s way off in marching colors from photos. No way I could use this professionally. Trying to move/drag the selection circle on the same patch of color in a photo (in hopes of it actually capturing the correct matching color)results in some muddied, far off range of neutrals when trying for a light blue, and a vibrant violet was sadly reduced to a muddied mauve.

Liiiiiiit 🔥🔥🔥. If you're a designer or an artist of any kind this will make your life so much easier when it comes to creating color schemes. 7/7

Ok. Not allowing me to index my photos after I downloaded them all. I try to press continue in the settings but it’s not taking me anywhere. I only got this app was to get a palette from photos I already took.

No Functionally. This app doesn’t appear to do anything. Access the color library appears to require an account, but when you click on the option to start a free trial, the app takes you to a screen where there is nothing to click on. This app should be removed from the App Store.

Essential for graphic designers. I’m a graphic designer for a marketing agency and I would be lost without this app. I think working with this app and the physical copies is great for project workflow and client meetings. It’s made productivity so much better for me. It’s super easy to scroll through quickly and get the colors you’re looking for and even screenshot for quick reference later. I also do character design for a side hobby and this app works great when referencing colors for procreate when I work on my iPad. The yearly subscription is worth it if you are in any design field for a profession. I would go with the month to month subscription if you aren’t sure how often you will be using it or you can have a free week trial to get a better feel for the program itself. Having all the colors at my fingertips is such a great service Pantone put out.

Not worth the money. I work with hair, so I use Pantone to help clients figure out the exact shade they want in their hair. That being said, this app is slightly difficult to use, and confusing. I’m also not sure why there’s even a price to begin with, this app doesn’t do anything special so why a cost??? The only thing truly worth it is the aesthetic for the fact that it’s Pantone. Download pocket palette instead, save yourself the time, effort and coin.

Colors don’t match. Any time I try to pull up an image to see the color selection, it just shows a range of brown colors, not any other color in the image. I had images of solid colors, but it’s still showing brown. There is something wrong with this. The app otherwise is very clunky and hard to use. I wish this would work, but it’s horrible. For $30 a year, it’s hardly worth it.

Colors are not accurate. I downloaded the app yesterday & I’ve already cancelled my subscription. I’m so glad I compared it to a brand new formula guide because none of the colors I checked matched, I even tried adjusting the settings on my iPhone. I was really hoping this would work.

Almost there. The issues I have are few. When I live stream the camera and get a color palette, taking the picture results in a different palette. Purple and green change to brown. Also, I get 5 colors and there is no way to increase that so 7 or more. I can't pick a color: that is, when the picture has red in it, the palette may not include red. I can't find a way to email a palette to someone else. I like the inspirations and the ability to enter a chip number to get the color.

Hard to navigate and will not linked to other apps. They promote this app’s ability to use images from your Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest accounts but it won’t even link to your accounts in order to be able to use. Seems like this app is in dire need of an update. Don’t waste your money on a subscription.

App would not load on iPad. Tried reloading and renownloading multiple times but got stuck on loading screen Edit: after deleting, re-downloading, and enabling location services (which is totally unnecessary for a color picking app, thanks for selling our info) it finally worked after letting my iPad sit and load for 10 minutes. Added a star since it actually loaded.

Pretty cool!. I'm not positive how dead on the colors are in the images, but I find this EXTREMELY helpful. I know there are multiple factors...lighting, the camera & the app. Hard to pinpoint which is the variable that I can manipulate to make most accurate image of color. But OVERALL....GENIUS!

Not up to date. This app (purchased and updated) doesn’t include up to date information from Pantone website, color of the year shows for 2020 and not 2021, I expect a value for my purchase!

App doesn’t work. I was going to use this to find a color for my bathroom but anytime I load it up it gives me a literal blue screen with a loading sign framed by the pantone box saying “hmm this is taking longer than expected” and that’s literal seconds from opening it. beyond that from other reviews it sounds like I wouldn’t haven been able to even look at colors to pick from. FIX IT.

Perfect. As a photographer this helps me out a lot when editing but also showcasing my work when using Pantone color ways too

Language Option. Hello there. I'm Brazilian and it'd be great to have the option to choose the app language from Portuguese to English back again, which I prefer. Just saying. :)

Really poorly made. Incredibly expensive for the poor app that it is. Be sure when you delete it - and delete it you will - that you also delete your subscription. Else you will get slammed monthly for something you deleted hours after downloading. (Like me)

Under what lightness level is the color on screen more true to the true color?. Love this app so far, but when I use the image function, sometimes the color the app matches is a tiny bit different than the color in the picture. Sometime the app also suggests different colors in/around the same color area. Also what lightness level do you suggest when using this app? Colors shown on screen are different under different lightness level. What lightness level makes the color more true to the real color? Thank you for your response in advance; this app makes my design life so much easier! But color accuracy still needs to be improved.

Why is Apple allowing this app in the store??!?. Why is Apple allowing this app which does not function in the app store??!? I suppose this is the new norm, buy one of their phones, have to pay for the cables to charge and use it, have to pay for the cube to charge and use it, have to pay for the dongles to have normal functionality to use it and then you pay for apps that dont work on it and never get a developer response to address the non functioning app issues just keep depositing those user checks! Great job. [Previous review] Why will this app not open passed the blue screen that states its taking longer than expected to open? We paid for this and now its not working. We want a fn refund!

Lot of colors are missing or miscalculated. If you scan in a photo it will often show you colors on it that are close the the original one but not really the exact one even though they exist in the pantone family. Search function also rarely works. Scanning colors also rarely works accurately. Could be way better.

Blues. I find no mater what I photograph the same shade of blue appears. Doesn't give me a variation of color shades or options of what I'm trying to duplicate. Confused on how to use this. If formulary for mixing no recipe given. I was looking for scale and name given to shade for ease if purchase. This application was difficult to achieve result desired.

Life saver. If your an artist like me who has trouble deciding on colors this is a life saver. My favorite feature is that if you pick a color it shows you all the color harmonies you could use! Only downside is it’s a little expensive if you want all the colors. But overall worth it if you need help with color.

Love This App!. I love using this app for editing my pictures because it allows me to take full advantage of the color chooser. It helps me in creativity in choosing projects as well. I wish though that there was an iPad version of this app because it would allow me to do so much more with what Pantone has to offer.

Incomplete and overpriced. The app seems to include every single Pantone collection... except the one I need (Plastic Standard Chips). Super frustrating! And I don't understand why I can only search by color name or number. If I don't know the designation of the color I am looking for, I can't enter it into a search! And entering in a generic name gives hundreds of results (many completely unrelated!). It's nearly impossible to know if I'm getting the closest match. The RGB values are never the same collection to collection, even for the same number. I have to go to each individual collection, look for a close visual match, and then check the RGB values. Not very efficient or helpful. The search function should allow RGB input so the closest match can easily be found. Overall, the app is somewhat difficult to navigate. I seem to have to tap way too many times to get to the information I want. And, for me, geared too much towards design. I need something more technical. So, not worth the money.

It’s a nice addition. I am a textile artist by hobby. I do love taking pictures of items that have attractive contrast colors. The app is helpful in assisting what type of medium I will use, oils, pencils or crayons! I see though that it isn’t my lack of knowledge in this app use that I receive wrong hues. I don’t have the type of light needed to drag around with me everywhere so I use what I like in the info the app provides.

A good start!. Absolutely brilliant concept that hopefully will improve with each new release. Colours didn't match our Pantone book so not really useful other than as a rough guide. Understand that it is hard to compare a printed swatch with a backlit screen but.... Would love to see the plastic colour range added. Also the metallic pantones too.

Thanks for restoring purchases & colour palettes!. So the original app that I paid $12 for has been replaced by an app that is practically useless unless I pay again for a subscription in order to access the full colour range. Plus, now I've lost all the colour palettes I'd saved and referred to regularly. I'd like the old app or my $12 back! UPDATE: full access and saved palettes are back! Thanks for listening to your customers. I'm only withholding the 5th star because of the inconvenience caused by the previous "update".

Great app. Love it! But it would be AMAZING if I could load my own designs into the studio.

Invest in the future. I'm more than happy with this app. Sure it's not perfect, but thumbs up to Pantone for investing in the future and creating a fantastic tool. So easy to use and an on-the-run solution for capturing ideas and inspirations. I'm always happy to pay for, and trial, new technologies that are carefully considered, and obviously designed with the customer in mind. Looking forward to receiving the updates.

Poorly designed. The app is not user friendly, I’m sure there’s hidden features to it to make it a great app, but it doesn’t have intuitive design and doesn’t do anything different than the Instagram colour palette filters do.

Fantastic. Use it all the time. It's great if i see an image and think, wow, those colors work really well. And five is enough. Occasionally i use a color picker as well if need be.

Okay app. Love the idea but everytime I try to link my Instagram account there’s always an error and it will fail to link it. Very frustrating.

Not full access. Pantone appear to be borrowing some marketing tricks from Adobe. Free app that only has no real capability. To get ‘full access’ they want you to fork out $7 a month..that’s $84 a year or $420 over 5 years. Really..just buy a colour book.

Graphic Desinger. Great app although it would be better if more than 5 swatches could be saved as a 'palette' and it dosn't include a CMYK alternative along with the others! Love that it gives me access to TCX and TPX though as Photoshop dosen't!

Contact form fails like the App. Just updated to the latest version of the App. Now, the App crashes as soon as you search a Pantone number. Tried to contact support via their own reporting form and on an iPhone that too fails. There is no check box viewable or checkable on the form. The “I authorise Pantone to contact me by phone or email” is there but no box that can be checked, very frustrating. If you design an App for a mobile platform surely all facets of that App including reporting forms should at least work on that platform.

Very Disappointed. - They have moved to an overpriced subscription model without warning - This should have been a separate application and support for the old app removed - Very disappointing

Hmmm this is taking a bit longer than expected. Is the only screen I ever see on an app I paid a considerable amount for. SO unimpressed.

Doesn't load. App gets stuck on the loading screen & has never progressed further. Have tried it on two different phones. I noticed it hasn't been updated in over 10 months so I'd guess that might be why. Unable to use it because of this.

Used to be a great app. Used to use this app a lot and loved it. For the past 2+ years, it hasn’t worked on any of my devices, despite reinstalling it multiple times. It just freezes and never moves beyond “Hmm this is taking a bit longer than usual” which is quite disappointing.

Difficult to understand, lack features. I was hoping to find a tool that would help with my workflow in terms of design, illustration and more. But the app is difficult to use, the subscription did not provide any unique features, and the it takes a lot of getting use to to really understand how to properly use the app. I would appreciate more customizability to fit my work flow, and more resources and references, the studio function is very useful for finding the right material but very limited.

Does not load any more. Does not load on latest ios

Lacking in features. I use my PMS book to death as a designer, so I was excited to find a digital version. But, you can't save palettes larger than 5 swatches, or save and organise schemes into a useful library or to Pinterest which is where I already store all my color reference images. I don't really want to share colors to Facebook or Twitter! Extracting color from images is a poor feature too because it samples screen pixels with no option to deselect unwanted values. It needs a fuzzy slider or cluster selection option. For the price, this app is not great value for professional designers.

Useless, dont buy it. This is pretty much useless, more of a gimmic thing aimed at designers for comparing swatch colours! If your a Tradesperson steer clear and save your money. Im a Trade qualified printer of 25 years and got this thinking it would have all the current pantone ink mix's and use it as a pocket reference guide to PMS ink colour mix ingredients and percentages and it doesnt have any. It only has RGB and Lab percentages which is for PC moniter colour matching, all it is, is a fancy iluminated swatch book that you cant use for anything!!!!!!!!!! waste of ten bucks! DONT BUY IT!! Pantone- pick your game up! there isnt even a user guide in existence!

Doesn’t work/open at all. 2017 iPad Pro user here. Whenever I open the app it’s just stuck on the load screen “hmm this is taking a bit longer than expected”.

Convoluted and pointless for print. Can’t trust phone screen calibration to the point that color books in this app become pointless. Who would trust this app instead of the printed colors books? And you want to charge me again for access to all the color swatches when I have already purchased the color books? Yeah, I’ll pass. And the style section was limited and unnecessarily complicated to use... But who really would use it that doesn’t already have photoshop?

Cool concept, hard to understand app. This app is really hard to understand how to use, the tutorial says nothing. I can't even figure out how to link it to my instagram, I thought I would be able to analyse the images on my Insta to see what colours I post most often and maybe get a theme going but can't figure it out. It's a really cool concept though and I love the feature of taking photos and you can see it analysing the colours in live mode, but this should be the first thing you show people not hidden behind multiple tabs!!! Frustrating and a better tutorial would be useful instead I can tell all you want is to trick me into buying your subscription.

Pantone use. This an incredibly difficult app to use. There is no instructions on how to use it. I just wanted a Pantone colour analyser of the images on my camera roll. It does not offer this. It is not worth the high subscription cost. STOP PRIORITISING THE MONEY AND START THINKING ABOUT YOUR CLIENTS NEED!

Does not work at all.. This app doesn’t work at all. Stuck on the first screen saying “ this seems to be taking longer than normal”. There are multiple reviews stating the same issue but I guess they choose to ignore customer feedback? Waste of data and App Store space.

Very Promising. Great app and useful for carrying around colour palettes. Can't rename each palette though, not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if there is a fault in the app. Can't wait for updates!

Absolutely disgusted. This update has left buyers completely stranded having to pay a ridiculous subscription fee to get the same information we received when we first purchased the app prior to this "update". What an absolutely horrific idea to pull the rug from under loyal customers like this, I'm gutted that Pantone has demanded this price hike to get back the usability we once had with the original app. Get it together guys, this is absolutely no way to treat your paying customers.

Frustrating. It always crashes. Impossible to use :(

Embarrassing. Can’t pick or browse a Pantone book, can’t search colours, and very hard to use. The developers have tried to make this app look “fun” with all it’s fancy screens and effects where in actuality we just need it to be useful. When I pick an image, the colours sometimes aren’t even close.

Finally!. Excited to see this released, especially by Pantone themselves. Not a replcement for the swatches, but it allows me to lookup specifics and I get a general idea of the colour. I love the app, but believe it could use a few improvements... Definately needs CMYK details for the individual colours. I'd really like the ability to convert CMYK to Pantone, could make it an add-on for a couple of bucks (don't make it a seperate app). I'd like the ability to increase/decrease the swatches in the palette. Some of the artwork I have has eight seperate Pantone colours, others just two. Give the app the ability to output to TV. You could then show the colours in a slide show (with/without details) or side by side. Obviously, the colours will be most likely off, but it would still be useful. Any chance of reading attachments; *.ase etc?

Hard to work App great concept tho. Navigation around app is really confusing. Some features I originally played with I can't find any longer!! Definitely not very intuitive and tutorial is hopeless, just 5 photos that say nothing. On the positive side, I do love the concept of the App and ill definitely use it for my art...if I don't give up on it from sheer frustration. I know what I want is there, but where?? Pricey subscription will see after a year if I'll actually renew..

App doesn't work. Unfortunately this app does not work. I was hopefully even after reading the negative reviews, but as soon as you click on fandeck you are locked into that screen and cannot push done or cancel. Something must have happened after January 11 when the bad reviews started flowing in. Don't waste your money.

App Crashes on startup. Cant open the app, it crashes immediately. iPhone 8 software is up to date. Poor effort Pantone!! 💩

Don’t Bother. Difficult to use. No guide on how to use. Wasted my time downloading and now have to waste my time deleting.

Crash Bang. I was very keen to try this app, but it wouldn’t load. And when it did, it crashed. I tried! Have now sadly deleted it, as it’s unusable. Fix it and I’ll be in like a pin!

Update DOESN'T restore purchases. So it seems after all the pressure and complaints Pantone has decided to give back access to all colours if you paid for the old (and not handicapped) version of the app. However, the 'restore purchases' method does nothing. I still only have the minuscule selection of colours, therefore making the app completely useless. It's like buying a keyboard, and a software upgrade removes half the keys. I don't want to subscribe to the rest of the alphabet!

Won’t open. How can this be App of the day if the darn thing won’t open?

It was better before. Colors were free before the new update, The basics are not even there unless payment is made? How about free basic colors, and one off payment for everything.

Great App But Not Opening. Love this app! However has not been loading opening on my phone all of yesterday and today so far ! I have tried everything I can think of and I need it for work . Quite disappointed with that because the app is so great!

Pantone, my new religion!. Simply brilliant app! Of course it's not perfectly color accurate but it has some sweet features. Little bit pricey though.

What a wraught. Completely unbelievable!! I purchased this app a year ago & decided to update just now. I have lost all the previous capabilities I originally purchased it for. Now I have to pay a monthly subscription!!!? I only use the app once or twice every 3 months. Worst update ever!!!! Infuriating!

Sad as I feel this app could be so helpful. I am unable to open the app at all. Shows the first page doesn’t load further and displays - hmmmm, this is taking a bit longer than expected. No matter how long I wait nothing changes. I have deleted and downloaded the app again numerous times and still can not progress into the app. Help needed!!

Not even loading. When it did load, it was not user-friendly and quite limited. Would love to live this app so hopefully the devs will improve it.

Really slow. Hard to use

Bug-ridden, expensive, avoid.. This half-assed effort does Pantone a profound disservice. It was clearly rushed out far too soon and lacks any polish, to the extent that three times out of four opening it shows a spinner with the helpless message “somethings taking too long”. Once in, it’s hard to navigate, and many of the features hang, or end up stuck in sub-views that you have to terminate the app to get out of. The photos section just shows a permanent spinner. Trying to link it to an Apple ID or Google ID fails because the app itself lacks the authorisation to ask for either. It’s a Total quality disaster from start to finish, and asking fifty bucks for an annual subscription is, in the circumstances, a bad joke.

Terrible.. So I pay for an app that's information dense, usefull, and usable and it gets replaced by something bloated with a confusing UI. But worse - now you want me to pay a subscription to regain the features I've already paid for? What's wrong with you people?

Disappointing. This app is really poorly designed and not user friendly or intuitive. Only 5 colours allowed per colour palette which is not helpful when identifying colours from an image. I desperately wanted this app to be amazing but it's given me nothing but frustration at it's poor design.

The app is not loading. I installed and removed the app few times but still it’s not opening.

Difficult and time wasting app. Whilst I love the theory of this app I have spent hours trying to work it out and have successfully completed 1 colour palette now I have gone back to start a second and the steps aren’t working like in palette 1. I think for something I paid for I expect a lot more. I think the developers should be refunding peoples ,only as this is a rip off

Great!. Can carry all the Pantone swatch books in my pocket. For this price I'm disappointed that this isn't a dual iPhone/iPad app, and indeed that this isn't even available in an iPad version. It's pricey for what you get...

Graphic artist. CMYK needed for sure, as for the colour refrence it fails but could be used as a rough guide when the real swatch book is not available. It can only get better from here, thanks for the app.

Pantone Rock!. Best app ever - I use it heaps, I wish the books and swatches were cheaper to buy from the Pantone store, as I’m a designer, but can’t afford the swatches.

Please fix. It seems like it would be a good app but it just never opens, it just says “this is taking a bit longer than expected”. It doesn’t kick me out of the app, but it just never loads.

Not Bad. Miss the colour swatch book interface. Wish the app was calibrated for the screen, they all seem out by quite a bit.

keep trying. not close enough to be seriously helpfull.

Won’t load. Used to be ok but won’t even load any more.

Best Color Reference App. Easily the best color reference app out there... It should be as Pantone has a reputation it should be living up to. But keep the app improving, I’d love to see more and more people loving the app.

Doesn’t load.. Have never been able to get past the main loading screen. All it says is “hmmm, this is taking a bit longer than expected”. This app seems like it would be very useful to me, I just wish it would load!

Pantone's says it's just for "fun". Pantone replied to my concern that the colours don't match up with the cardboard fan. Guess what, turns out that, according to Pantone, this app is just for "fun", and we shouldn't rely on it. So maybe they should advertise it in the "games" category. I feel ripped off and will delete it from my itouch because it's just useless.

The colors LOVER. I would like to see back the Parallax effect for the colors, it was and is still important for me and lots of my colleagues who are asking me to tell you that. Please bring it back additionally to what we already have but as an option to choose in between. New colors, new technologies, new inspirations. What would you need more !

Mostly Pointless. You can research a lot about colour and organize a palate, but then you can't do anything with it. If you email it, you get a bunch of files that can be downloaded to Evernote or Dropbox, but then those apps can't read them and you just get a bunch of code. If you copy the email and open it in a draw app, it only pastes the words, not the colours, which doesn't do much good. So it's nice to be able to browse the colours and find the pantone codes, but there's no real point to the app if you can't apply the information to anything.

Designer beware. It's a neat toy, I'll give it that. The app simply doesn't cut it on a press floor. The colours are way out to lunch when compared to a printed piece. I understand it's a backlit source, but if it doesn't match, what good is it? Pantone 295 C more closely resembles 285. That's too far out. The photo feature also falls short. A photo in bright natural light, taken of a solid block of Pantone 200 C on 99 bright white stock, picks up blues and purples only, not a single red even when choosing with the eyedropper. In short, don't show your clients anything but conceptual colour choices and don't trust the photo feature. It ain't gospel, kids! Impress me with an update, Pantone. I want to love this app!

Won’t load. The app says “hmm, this is taking a bit longer than expected” and just sits on this screen forever. I have only seen this screen since I downloaded it, so I have nothing to review other than it doesn't work.

Epic Fail. I thought the new chromatic books were bad. Now you go and take the app THAT I PAID FOR and give it an "upgrade". 1. I did not ask for this "upgrade" I'd like my old app back 2. You can stick your monthly subscription fee in your pipe and smoke it. Clearly you're smoking something... 3. This app has gone from a great, easy to use tool to a waste of memory. Let me know when you really upgrade something. That means MAKE AN IMPROVEMENT! Not rip off customers who have already paid.

Useless. My photos won’t load, and no it’s not my internet connection.

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. Pantone has defrauded its customers buy its latest "Upgrade" (it is actualy a downgrade) of this software. With the previous version of the software I was able to use all the libraries that I had paid for all the time and on top of that I was albe to share this app with all members of my family. After this "Upgrade" I lost access to all the features that I had paid for and Pantone initialy asked its customer to pay a monthly subscription fee to get access to what they had already paid for, later on when everybody started to scream at them they returned some of that functionality back. The interfact has degraded by a lot. I dentification of the colors has become hugely more difficult, and family app sharing is completely gone. DO NOT LET PANTONE TO RIP YOU OFF

Doesn’t work. Unfortunately this app didn’t work at all! Kept on saying “hmm this is taking longer than expected”....

Unbelievable Crooks. Pantone continues set the gold standard for ripping off its customers. I bought this premium app years ago for $10. I never would have bought it if I knew I was just renting the app and that Pantone would steal my money and then have the nerve to ask me for more. Replace your swatch books every year!! Buy these new colours that for some reason aren't included with our system!! We should all say enough and start using Open Colour Standard. Shame on you charlatans! I want my money back!

Indispensable !. Je n’utilise plus de charte papier ! Et envoyé un échantillon par la fonction partage est géniale …

great for editors. an app all editors should have

Doesn't work. It starts up forever, or maybe never. I have never been able to see how it's supposed to work.

App crashes. App crashes!

Importer. Bought the app years ago for one simple function- Pantone colors with numbers. It is handy to show customers what color we offer. The app removed this basic function after updating. I understand the app need to be improved; however, removing the function which customers paid for is not improving! it is deceitful!

Can’t unsubscribe. This was cool to try, but I’m not using it and finding it quite to find somewhere to unsubscribe!

Waste Of Time. This offers nothing about formulating a colour . I’ll stick to my fan book of PMS colours .

Meh. Doesn't match a fanbook at all. And hello...CMYK?! Update this with brightness calibration as well.

Perfect. The app is perfect if you want to find a digital colour

meh!. I am an Idiot! i had had taken the time to read all the bad reviews that this app has inspired then I would not have thrown ten bucks down the toilet. to summarize; don't waste your money or your time on this useless app.

pantone.. it take FOREVER! to load my images.

Not helpful in the press shop. As a press operator this ap is useless to me. The colors don't match a real fanbook. Read the fine print I guess.

App no longer works?. As many people are saying, this app simply doesn’t load anymore. Would it require an update? As it is, it’s non-functional. Tested on latest ios.

Does not load. I want to badly to use this app but it’s completely unaccessible.

Incompatible with iPad. When I open it on my iPad, it shows up as the phone resolution.....so I have a huge black border and a phone layout in the middle lol?

Pantone studio app. Very user friendly and easy to use, just download the Pantone studio app and take a picture and it shows all possible colors with cross reference to tcx, fhi nylon, fhi polyester tsx, pastels and neons coated and uncoated, it also easily upload to cloud, photoshop or add to current or new palette. Highly Recommand for fashion designer or graphic designer to try it out.

Please fix it. Can’t open the app and crashed every time,. Keep loading for a long time then crash. Xs Max Nov.5 2018

Bad. Loading takes forever, colour matching to even screenshots taken on the same device the app is running on are completely inaccurate, no way (that I saw) to delete photos you’ve uploaded or to otherwise rescind access to them (unselecting them and resetting the app do not work).

Recettes cmyk svp. Même si on ne peut se fier aux couleurs pour de limprimer, il aurait été très pratique d' avoir les recette de ses pms en cmyk pour comprendre la composition Dun pantone, a quand une mise a jour?

Disappointed. The app doesn’t even open…

Great App for Artists. I am using the free version of the app for now and it is fantastic! I am mainly using the images feature to load my artwork and produce a color palette in order to create products based on my art! Great tool.

Perfect For quick Pantone Reference. This is a great app for a quick Pantone references quick swatch creations and to even pull theme colours from a photo. Obviously this doesn’t replace Pantone fabric swatches or paper cards but it’s a great app for on the run !

Interface Poorly Designed. This is incredibly frustrating. Designed by some ADD nitwit with understanding of intuitive interface design. Don't waste your time, buy a swatch book!

How does this work?. I’ve never given a bad review to any app but I simply cannot figure out how to work this app. I want to enter a PMS# and build a colour palette from it. I couldn’t even locate the Pantone colour no matter how I entered it. Perhaps the paid version is significantly better but I’m not willing to pay and find out that it’s not. Disappointing.

Deleting features and putting them behind a paywall!. So I happily bought this app 7 years ago as it was a wonderful way to get and show Pantone colors to customers while out in the field. Then they updated it to a new version which took away all of the colors so now the app I bought and paid for wants me to subscribe for a monthly reductions fee to show my customers "kinda sorta close" equivalents of the colors they are looking for. WTF? Seriously...let me redownload the previous version at least! Such a scam!!!

Easier to use before subscription pricing. Pretty well useless now. Don't do it unless you want to spend money and not get reasonable colour codes.

Buyer's remorse. I only bought this because Pantone is phasing out their X-Ref app, which I liked a lot. I hoped for roughly 10x the cost it would be as useful, but I don't think it is. You can no longer (for instance) type in HEX values and get the nearest Pantone colour. A real drag. I don't think I'd have spent the money if I'd known that.

Doesn’t pick colours accurately. I don’t find this app user friendly at all. When uploading a photo from my camera roll, it doesn’t accurately pick colours. The shade palette is limited and I can’t hover over the exact shade I want it to read.

Doesn't work as advertised, a total waste of money. This app is so poorly designed that its laughable if it wouldn't have cost me 10 bucks. The palettes when loaded are so small that you can't see their names, when you search a palette and find one, you are supposed to be able to add it to your favourites, but of course that function doesn't work, and no matter what you try, you can't save the palette for viewing later on. If you email the palette to yourself through the email function built into the App, it emails a black palette regardless of what you've picked. This is a total rip-off, and its amazing that a company like Pantone would jeopardize their reputation with such a shoddy piece of software.

Baaad update. Since update. No more swatch book browsing !! Very disappointed !!!

Does not load. The app does not load on iPad and iPhone.

Free version does not work, impossible to try for free. No clue of the paid version but this does not work. Was hoping for the best even with all the bad reviews however... wasted five minutes trying to get it to work, wasting another 30 seconds here to warn you 😂

Crashing. I love this app! The only problem is it will crash and then you can't open it again.

It has nothing. This app is so confusing and there’s literally nothing unless I pay. Just mark the app with a price for Pete’s sake! I hate it.

Keeps crashing with new iOS update. When I do to take a picture it automatically crashes

Doesn't work. Freezes, links broken, not intuitive

All photos make brown palettes?. Make it make sense. This app worked flawlessly 8 years ago even. How are you progressing backwards as a company tech wise AND charging more for products that don’t work?

Camera roll no more?. You used to be able to upload images from camera roll, has that been taken away? That's what I used most.

Useless, website is more effective. There is literally no use for this app due to its limitations. Paying for it would be crazy!

I wish it included formula mixing. I wish the app also included uncoated formula guides. It would be much more convenient for printers and I’d happily pay an associated subscription fee.

Perfect for on the go!. Great customer support!!

the app won’t launch correctly on latest iOS. it stalls on the loading screen and doesn’t open.

Doesn’t work. This app doesn’t work. It won’t even open, it just sittings endlessly on the loading screen saying it’s taking longer than usual.

Doesn’t load. Downloaded the app, went through the tour, and then it hangs and says “this is taking longer than expected”.

App crashed and never opened. This app literally does not work. It just stays stuck on a loading screen and says “hmm this is taking longer than expected.” Very poor quality and not what I would expect from Pantone.

Fabulous!. Access to relevant color stories according to what industry you select.

Won't even start. Won't even launch. Just shows "Hmm ... this is raking longer rhan expected" forever! Worthless.

PLEASE make horizontal please please please. That would be a game changer and make me actually use this app. Thank you

Crashes constantly. Literally can’t use it because it doesn’t work

Worthless. This so has literally no value a d serves only to entice user to pay for a premium app which is also worthless. Just use Adobe color website or Adobe capture for drawing from images. This app was a truly frustrating waste of time.

Basic. So basic, even with the paid subscription.

App doesn’t work. I tried multiple times to open this app, and it was stuck on the loading screen. Ended up deleting it without ever using it.

Not working. “Hmmm, this is taking a bit longer than expected” is what I get whenever I open up the app. It actually doesn’t open. It hangs while it tries to load.

Color search, the most basic of features, doesn’t work. Searched for “532 C” and the results say, “No results found.”

Unusable. After downloading it twice, the app got stuck on the very first loading screen for multiple minutes both times. I’m a bit disappointed

Keeps crashing. I am trying to create palettes. If you try add more than 3 colors, it crashes. Also, it is not very user friendly as the UX isn’t intuitive at all.

I like this app more than instagram. -

My Designing Tool. Excellent Design Resource!!

Broken. App is not opening!

Fail. The app never worked. I would click on it and open it and got an endless loading circle

A Godsend. Every facet of this app works perfectly but the it crashes when I try saving a color palette.

Love it!. Can send colors straight to Adobe Cloud, get all color breakdowns and corresponding color pallets. Thanks Pantone!

Terrible. Cant search Pantone color with subscription. Worthless app. After subscribing you can’t search the colors. It’s a joke.

doesnt work at all lol. downloaded the app, clicked through the initial introduction and privacy settings, and then got stuck with a blue loading screen that says “hmmm, this is taking longer than usual” and never got past there. tried deleting and redownloading the app on my phone, same situation. zero stars sorry guys thanks for trying

Cant upload a photo. I'm so confused. Can't upload photos to pick from. non intuitive

Horrible UI. Difficult to navigate through, colors do not match image due to limited selection. Great potential but not usable currently .

Oh, how the mighty have fallen!. This app used to be in everyone’s essential tool kit. But with the arrival of the monthly/yearly subscription and the terrible interface and customer service, I don’t think it holds up to the standard that other apps like Adobe color lab and Coolors posses. Oh, how the mighty have fallen!

Inaccurate Color Picker. The color picker on this cannot tell the difference between a lilac color with a pink or a grey undertone. Disappointing. Please fix. I have soooooo many unlabeled thread colors I need to match and I need an app that can tell the difference.

Let me use it first?. I JUST installed the app. I can’t really do anything with it until I also subscribe (7 days trial). As soon as I clicked subscribe and it gets proceeded by the App Store I get hit with “REVIEW THIS AAAAAP!!!!!!” Sure let me review my experience so far: “ONE STAAAAAAAARRRRRR!!!!!”

Useless. Their search function doesn’t even pull up their own colors.

App won’t open on iPhone 7. I’ve downloaded and restarted this app twice now and allowed location and other requests. Internet and service all in working order. Please fix this? :(

Best color App. This is a wonderful and the best color app.

Wont open. I hate to leave a bad review for anything but I got very excited about this app and it just keeps buffering and never opened

Never opened. The app’s never opened for me. It simply says “hmm... this is taking longer than expected” on the load screen. Done all sorts of troubleshooting to try to start using it. Would love to use this app...

App won’t load. I’ve downloaded the app and redownloaded and it won’t load at all. Just get a message that says “App is taking longer to load than usual”, but nothing happens.

Fun!. I’m so obsessed!! I use it on all my selfies!!

How does this even work?. If you have to work hard to get what should be a simple app performing which I never did, it’s bad.

Skin tones only?. Everything that I use the app on favors skin tones. Something I took a pic of was in the yellow gold family and gave me skin tones? What? So disappointing as a graphic designer

FLORAL DESIGN. Why in the world is that not an option for how colors are used?!

Act Together. This app needs to get its act together to be utilized as a Pantone designing tool, which means no crashing, and if the interface could flip horizontally for upright desk work.

Terrible.. I downloaded it and it never opened. I wanted to use it for work and not once would it let me do anything. The screen would just load forever. I deleted it after a week of consistently trying. Don’t waste your time.

Worthless. A total waste - even with a subscription it simply didn't save any palettes, no way to restore. Hours of work wasted.

App needs fixing. I used to love using this app, but lately I can’t get it to open, regardless of how well my signal or WiFi connection is. It usually tries to load and then crashes before it is able to actually open. Please fix it!
