Lightning Fast. I like how quickly Redfin updates. We’ve known the status several times before our Realtor because of this. I also like how you can opt out of seeing a house pop up on searches over and over. I only wish there were a few more options and that they were all immediately available by the heart icon without needing to open the listing to “X” out. Something along the lines of the two that Redfin already offers “love it”, “hate it” and then add an “eh, this may need a second look” icon would be great. Also since the recent update I am not able to view the shared favorites which is frustrating. Though I can still see the comments left on my favorites. Even still this is my preferred app as we navigate through house hunting. Easy to use and updates super fast! Thanks!

Hate the changes. This app used to be my favorite go to app before all the changes. I would even have paid a small annual or monthly fee, but now with the prices instead of the little houses, it is hard on the eyes and even harder to map out. My other complaint is that now you can only fiter for the last 3 months sold instead of the last month and last 7 days. I used this app everyday but now it is not effective or efficient. Anyone who uses it to it business like I do to reach out to new homeowners, this app used to be a must have and like I stated, if I could get it to be like if was before, I sold gladly pay a small monthly fee. Anyone who targets brand new homeowners would. Keep this app like this of you want but make one just for businesses owners looking for newly sold homes.

The layout is great, notifications are terrible.. We’ve tried all the various real estate apps while searching for a new home. Redfin has the best and most intuitive layout. Street view is great, the way they show pricing on the map is great. But, and this is a huge but, the notifications are absolutely atrocious. Let’s say you come a cross a house that looks amazing but is double your budget but you want to check it out , or a ridiculously expensive condo that you just want to take a peak at but your main search is for single family homes. Well, you will then be inundated with notifications for those types of property at the larger cost. There doesn’t seem to be a way to say: “I want notifications for houses between $400k and $500k in these areas only”. Or, for my wife and I “We want house in that price range with schools that are ranked 7 and above” (that would be money. I wish I had some coding skills) We are in a city where homes move fast, like 3 days tops for properties in our budget. So, we need valuable notifications that will help us on our search. Not cascading notifications in awful neighborhoods for homes that we would never consider buying. I hope the folks at Redfin read these reviews.

Need to expand area and minor quirks but LOVE this app. By far the most superior real estate app available. My biggest complaint is they’re not everywhere. When I’m searching an area that says “Redfin is not available in this area,” I use Trulia, which I completely dislike. There are quirks in the data such as the map that is supposed to show the layout of the property. Many times the property lines are inaccurate. I always verify with state parcel pages. School information is also often times missing on the phone version but available on the computer site. Otherwise, this app is so user friendly and visually appealing. Please, please expand your area!

Love this app!. I usually don’t write reviews but this app is one I enjoy using, its very easy to navigate and understand, you can “heart” houses you love and come back to them to determine which ones you want to view. They also have a function that allows you to contact the realtors and see when they have open houses. It shows when a house you are looking for is already sold or pending so you don’t waste your time. It gives you estimates of pay and has filters to determine what your looking in a house. I’ve used many apps like this to look for houses but this is by far my favorite one and it is now the only one I use. The only thing I wished this app had is a place for the ones you “X” out In the same way they have a place for the ones you “heart” I dislike that I have to scroll through houses I’ve already looked at and don’t want to see. Even with that this app is a 5 out of 5!

Fastest updates from MLS!. We had been house searching for months and I had EVERY other app on my phone with search notifications enabled. I had heard Redfin was the fastest so I downloaded it as well and saved a search with notifications set up. This app is the reason I was notified within minutes of my dream home coming on the market. The other apps had a few hour delay before I received the same notification from them. Because of Redfin notifying us so quickly we were able to schedule a prompt showing with our agent and were the first to submit an offer in a very competitive market. We just closed on the house. THANK YOU Redfin! If you download more than one app I would recommend this one and Estately.

Real Estate Expenses Are out of control!!!. When I discovered the Redfin app, I was surprised and excited. Now, I am just surprised!!! I’m wanting peace of mind as a location; but, Our society is skewed by so many factors and greed seems to be the main culprit. I shall continue to use Redfin to look for property for me, but I am not holding out hope for my future purchase. Rural communities and surrounding areas, such as Brookings, Oregon are just no longer reasonable to consider as a place to live. Prices are high, and controlling property owners (including corporations) are greedy. Many of the listings have errors and inaccuracies that cause extreme frustrations. Yet, I have faith that there is one place for me that’s just great. I’ll keep looking and enjoy the little things…

The update is terrible! Zillow much?. I used to love Redfin, I have bought 4 houses using Redfin as my house hunting source, 3 with a Redfin agent and sold 1 with a Redfin agent. What I used to love most about it, was how it wasn’t like Zillow. It was much more user friendly and the experience was smoother and easier to navigate. Their latest update turns the app into a Zillow rip off and quite frankly, it’s terrible. Not only is the layout and navigation nothing short of a copy of Zillow, since the update, the Redfin estimates on homes are sometimes not there now, and I find myself having to go to Zillow anyway, because the 3D walkthroughs and Matterports don’t show up half the time. I see houses that tell you in the description to check out the 3D walkthrough, but there isn’t one. Until you go to Zillow and find it. It’s a real bummer and honestly, when you realize how much they clearly just copied zillows UI, it’s just sad. Please revert back or give me the option to use the classic version of the app. I find myself using Zillow as my regular now, because if I have to experience the same crappy UI either way, I may as well use the one that offers property value estimates and 3D walkthroughs.

Much better than the other 2 RE apps. Everyone searching for a home knows about the other 2 RE app (Tr & Zi - which are both owned by the same company). I’ve used both of those apps extensively in my searching. They each have a few features/ available data that the other does not. So in order to get complete info on any given home (taxes, school info, street view of home, sometimes even the written description, etc) - you would have to go to both back & forth between both sites/apps. I’ve only recently learned about Redfin and the Redfin app. Much better! Redfin has ALL of the features/ available data in one place. It’s easy to use in either list or map format. And it seems to be more current as to when homes go on & off the market. I deleted the other 2 apps and am now using RF exclusively. Happy Home Hunting!

Good info, UX needs some work. Love the layout of the app and the info it provides. Very easy to navigate broadly speaking. However The recommended homes feed needs some serious work. You have to click on a home to get details before you can X it out (but apparently you can love it without going into the detailed view). There is also apparently no way to say “limit all results to less than $XXX” in the feed (Even if you already did that in your saved searches). Instead, you have to go city by city (or listing by listing?) and say limit my search results to less than dollar amount. App refreshes the page and lo and behold, another house listed above your budget just in a different city. This is annoying since if you are looking to buy a home, you probably have a set budget regardless of where you are looking. I also wish there were a way to filter homes that met certain criteria (for example school rating and whether it has a yard). Would also be nice if the app could suggest homes based on your top criteria even if that means suggesting a new city (eg, homes with a yard under $X with a school rating of >X —> have you considered )? Fix that and I think the app will be great.

Always my favorite real rstste engine. Very informative, many pics, map, good descriptions, all necessary info at fingertips. I give Redfin AAA+ rating for tacklin their job and being a true masters. And no I am not their employee, but after going through Zillow and Realtor. Com I always end up with Redfin as most user friendly search. When I eas a real estate agent I used to double check properties from MLS and Redfin and found out that some agents purposefully did not list properties on MLS but had them hanging on Redfin because the wanted to list & sell themselves and double up commission. Many times I found an active property on Redfin thst was not MLM listed. Just throwing it out there for you to know

Messy and unhelpful, bordering on useless. It’s almost like this app is actively trying to get users to not use Redfin. No matter how I “tune my recommendations,” I constantly get notifications for houses way, way outside my price range, in cities I’ve never searched for, etc. And I’m not even going to go into how it constantly resets the sort, map view, etc. I do not get at all what the “Recommended” sort option is supposed to be showing me, but you seem set on forcing it on me regardless of what I do. Whatever it is, it’s not at all useful. I have to sort and re-sort again to actually see new properties. This isn’t Facebook, guys. You don’t need some stupid algorithm. You’re selling something. Just show me what I’m looking for in the order I ask for it. Why is that so hard? What are you doing with all this nonsense, other than putting tons of roadblocks and annoyances in the way of your users? Maybe hire a UX expert or something because, man, this entire app is just littered with irritating little things that add up to an entirely repellent user experience.

Love the notifications based on your filters. This app really helped me find our dream home. It helped us understand the local market. I love how you can pull a report on what houses were listed for vs what they actually sold for with days on the market. Zillow does not offer this capability. It helped us understand how to negotiate our offer to purchase a home by including enough time to sell our current home. I also love the updates on how our home is appreciating. They only throng they could do better is the estimates on current value. I feel like this is too conservative because I have seen the Redfin value of 2.0m and then the home is listed for 2.6m and sells within a week all cash offer. I have seen a few of these examples.

Very frustrating user experience for me. It's all good right up until you click on a specific listing to see more details and photos. It has this weird interface pop-up that keeps intruding and covering up half the screen so that one feels like one is viewing one photo bit by bit (getting revealed as you scroll up) instead of seeing the whole photo. It gives me the feeling of tunnel vision. I can't get this stupid pop up to move down/out of my view. When I try to, it throws me into a different page with no photos, just standard info about the property. I finally got so frustrated with this, I left the app and immediately deleted the app off my phone. I felt better immediately. I like other apps better: Homes, Trulia, Realtor. Don't download Redfin unless you want to spend the entire in-app time getting frustrated by the interface.

Review estimates. Redfin and similar sites are good in subdivisions in normal neighborhoods or urban town areas, since comps are readily available thru multiple listing Realtor sites . However in rural sites with a lot of unique properties such as one of a kind building systemss ( example post& Beam or log or conversion units. The comps aren’t plentiful or consistent. (geographic radius and length of time since sale needs to be expanded. .). Also these frequently custom built, unique properties sometimes transfer by owner, so would need check court house or newspaper conveyances for accuracy. Obviously 12 acres of Dhenandoah River front for example with Lindal log home post& Beam pkg would sell for approx 2x min neighbor down rd on small lot, non riverfront and modular construction for example. bedroom number doesn’t equate in that market sf. Will however.

Last 2 houses in past 12 years via the app. My last two houses in the past 12 years have been scouted and researched on this app. I never used an actual Redfin agent, however, just the app. I wish RF could get at least a tiny cut of the purchases and sales of the homes because I used it extensively through out the process. On the sale - watching the “viewed count” and popularity indicator. On the buying side I typically know what happened before my realtor and before the attorney emails back with deed entry news. Only once in a while I’ll open up Zillow when some confusion arrises from a condo unit mislabeling. My last house (condo) had 3 different entries on RF, for example. So I’d go to Zillow app to do a sanity check. No guarantees which app would have more accurate info, though.

Refresh Issue. I absolutely love Redfin and basically live on this app even though I already own a home. THE only thing I cannot stand about the app is the fact that the Feed consistently refreshes and shoots you back all the way to the top. If you were browsing towards the bottom of the feed page, this is extremely frustrating because you immediately lose where you were and if there were any updates to the feed, you now have more homes to comb through. No matter what you do the feed always refreshes itself causing you to start all over. I’ve tested this out multiple times. Even if you leave the app for 1-2 seconds and return, the feed shoots you back to the top (regardless of a feed update). A lot of times I completely give up on my house search simply because of how annoying it is to have to start all over again. Should be an easy fix given they update the app regularly but for some reason they don’t fix it. Feels like the instagram feed from a couple years ago

Pricing sort is driving me nuts!. I used to love this app but am ready to drop it just because of the pricing sort. I get it has some glitches but I can live with those. THIS glitch, I simply can’t because it affects the entire experience of looking for a home. Each time the search refreshes itself, I have to remind the app to apply the sort order I’ve already selected (Low to high pricing) because the sort is now in some Redfin preferred order. Of note - when you go to change the setting, it still says it’s in low to high pricing sort order (untrue) since the houses are not listed that way. To fix it, I have switch the order to high to low or any other sort, go back to the app to “awaken” sort , then go back again to sort settings and switch to low to high and then back again to the app for the sort to actually reset itself to my preferred sort. Using the map - Imagine you move your search 5 miles east - you have to repeat the above process again because the home results are no longer listed in low to high pricing. In one 15 min use of the app, I have to repeat this insane reawaken and reset sort order several times! It tells me the designers don’t actually use their app. Incredibly annoying especially since it used to work properly a while back!! FIX IT please!!

UI glitching and condo added. Great app and pretty user friendly for people trying to find a housing of any kind on the market. The 4 star rating is because of a small UI glitch that happens randomly. When I try to move the map in a certain area it sometimes jumps back to where I was instead of staying in the new area I had dragged to. The second reason is because I have filters on for only single family home or a townhome, but every so often there’s a listing that is considered a “townhome” but in actuality it’s a condo because of it being a “townhome styled condo” which makes it somewhat annoying when I see a home at a fair price range just to find out it’s a condo. If they could remedy that in the filters so that regardless of how a home is “styled” it doesn’t show in categories it shouldn’t belong and give somewhat false hope.

Needs to be fixed. I have always used Redfin for my property searching needs. It has been a favorite of mine for a few years now. However, this recent update has ruined the App for me, especially when it comes to saving/favoriting properties. I hit the heart to save, it won’t even load the list of “folders” I pre-created. So, I figure ok fine I will just hit save and it’ll go to the saved list they have. I hit “Save” and it doesn’t save. Heart doesn’t turn red and I go to my saved list to check to see if it worked and nope newly favorited property not there. I try to move a currently favorited property to a newly created list or even just delete it from the saved list altogether and I get an error that reads “Sorry Something went wrong, please try again later.” Please fix asap!! Or go back to the way it was, there was nothing wrong with how it worked before.

Heartbreaking. To the developer: can you please make it more difficult to “unheart” favorites? I’ve now had multiple instances of accidentally “unhearting” favorites while scrolling through them. The heart is located right where a right-handed person would naturally scroll when still trying to be able to see the picture list. Because I’m searching four counties and over multiple months, I can’t always remember exactly where each house is located, particularly if it’s a new favorite. And searching by street name (if I remember it) is ineffectual. There are then literally hundreds of houses that I have to individually search back through to find the favorite. Maybe remove the “unheartable” heart from the scrolling list (so that you have to click on the entry to get to the clickable heart)? When it’s on our favorites list, it’s not like having that heart there adds anything. Or add a “are you sure” pop up? Otherwise, this app has been awesome in helping me keep track of the market as I get ready to purchase. Thanks!

Great but with issues. I used to love this app but now I’m starting to get very frustrated. A year ago I was looking for house in another state but ended up moving June 19 to a different state. Today is May 2020 and I’m helping a friend look for a house. I have tried everything to stop getting updates on houses from the first state but nothing will stop them from showing in the update feed. I have emailed support but they are zero help and tell me to unsubscribe to the email. I’ve said 3 times it’s not through email it’s in the app. Anyway on to the next issue. My friend and I are connected as co-borrowers so we can share our favorites and use the comment section. Doesn’t work! It shows her name but she can’t see my comments and I can’t see hers. I get emails that show her comments but nothing under the comment section or in the shared favorites of this app. I don’t even see the houses she has saved. This app used to be the best and now it’s gone to crap. I’m really sad because a year ago I loved it.

Stuck in landscape mode!. The functionality of the app is pretty good, it works more smoothly and consistently than the web site which frequently fails to load maps or other features. The problem is the app is locked into landscape mode forever! You’re going to spend hours with this app and having to hold your iPad sideways to a couple of hours gets pretty uncomfortable. For the first time in several years as a heavy iPad user, I felt physical pain from being forced into a sideways grip. If you can get over that or you already customarily use your tablet in this way, with a kickstand or keyboard stand for example, you’ll adore how well the app works. I’d gladly give this thing five stars if it didn’t cause me physical pain to use. Just don’t zoom in too much or the app will for some unknown reason deluge you with already sold homes instead of homes for sale!

Fixing my review. My favorite real estate app!. Edit: Previous review is for context only. This is my favorite real estate app and I love that they added more favorite folder options and options to add more to the short list. I use this app over my real estate agent’s app. Something was off with my phone, I reset my phone several times and closed the app out. It finally started working an hour after I started this review and no app update. I’m guessing this was a server side issue. Old review: The new fancy animation that was added to the feed completely lock up the app. Only way to use it now is to force closes the app, reopen then try to scroll down the feed before the saved searches load at the top.

Awful. So I had two homes for sale. I contacted a redfin agent I had talked to before named Jesse. Jesse or redfin doesn’t respect the customers time. Jesse kept not getting back to me so I had to request another agent honestly I forgot his name already. He was rude and condescending and really thought that I had to adhere to his schedule instead of us coordinating schedules together. He was very condescending and thought he was way too busy to talk to me, even though I had a bad experience with the previous realtor. At this point I had to go over the managers head Cecelia because she kept sending me very rude realtors, so I have to call their headquarters in Dallas and talk to a lady named Lucy, who is actually very nice but turned out to be kind of fake also. Since I can’t really explain why they were that way to me I can only speculate that it was racial but I really don’t know. All I know is that redfin is not a good company to work with. I guess with the percentage that they take, you get what you pay for, which is somebody who doesn’t care about you as a person at all.

Change is not always for the better.. Redfin has always been a great app to post and search for real estate, however the new version of the app is awful. Previously when you clicked on a listing you had the option to see all of the property photos on one screen in a grid layout. The updated app no longer offers that feature. The advantage of seeing all property photos at once is that if you’re someone who is looking for a property with a specific feature like a big backyard, walk-out basement, or am like me and want to go straight to the floor plans you could see every photo and click the exact image that you’re looking for. The new version of the app ONLY allows you to scroll image by image. So you could scroll through 20+ images just to realize that the listing doesn’t include a floor plan or doesn’t capture images of the specific feature you’re looking for. BIG mistake for Redfin- I’ve basically stopped using the app because of this. It’s become a waste of time. If I can’t find what I’m looking for quickly then this app is useless to me.

Redfin has it all!. Redfin provides the best and most timely notification emails re: new listings & status changes. In addition, Redfin provides all the details one needs, including the extras such as floor plans, virtual tours, & 3D walk throughs (when provided by the listing agents). Other sites, often do not provide these bonus features that can really showcase a property. I find these extras so helpful in really learning more about a property. You would think that the listing agents who go to the extra steps (and costs) to include floor plans & 3D walk throughs, would insist other realtor sites include these great features, as well. Sellers should also make their voices heard when details about their homes are left out. Redfin is the best advertisement for both listing agents & sellers!

I wanted to love it. This is almost a great app, but it’s missing critical filters. I’ve written to their support multiple times, but have never had a response. So, it’s 5 stars if you only look at one area, and never browse in other areas. What I mean is that I once looked at home in an area where friends live, but realized I have no interest there. However, a year later, I’m still being flooded in my feed with listings there. They offer the ability to ask not to receive those listings, but I always get the message that it’s an area I can’t remove. Huh? If you go to settings, it also doesn’t offer the option to turn off that area. Overall, it really could be fantastic, except for their complete lack of support and getting totally undesired feed results each time you use it. I’m resorting to writing this review in the hope it will generate developer support. Like I said, I wanted to love it, but it’s very stressful.

Needs help. Please add lot size to the thumbnail view. Also please add a sort for lot size in descending order. Some people don’t care about anything but the lot possibility. It’s very cumbersome to search in that case. Also- open house list should be super easy and not require a Redfin agent to be contacted just to glance at a property. Every weekend there should be a suggested Redfin adventure map, plotting a driving map to potential properties to explore. With the incentive for using the Redfin agent on each property. Push notifications could also notify you if there is an open house nearby that fits your search criteria. We have explored areas in the car and not found it easy to get from one open house to the other, driving. App needs to take the open house hours in to account and suggest a route to see all within the “draw” area and search criteria.

New “feed” is useless. Not sure what feedback or data you looked at to decide to lump everything into one feed and then only highlight saved searches, but your app should be smart enough to highlight new houses based on a users saved searches without have to highlight them at the top and take away the groupings you used to have. It’s much more useful for the apps data science models to use the saved searches to surface homes and lump them into the old categories you had. Everyday I used to look at new homes and price drops using the categories at the top. Now I have a useless feed of everything lumped together. I’m not going to find homes easily like that. Also, your app will still recommended homes in cities I am not interested in (just looked for fun at it once) and the cities do not show up in the recommendation adjustment. It’s really annoying. Please bring back a way to see updates of homes by groups.

Change city, manually scroll to the top. I’m not sure if it’s just a glitch or what the problem is? When I want to look at a different city and change the location in the search bar, I will have to manually scroll all the way back to the top of the page in order to see the lower price range. This wouldn’t be so bad if it didn’t take so long for the pictures of the homes to load along with the information. It’s so tedious. I will usually close the app, and reopen in order to change the location to avoid this problem. Other than that, I don’t mind the app. I can program my down payment and see the potential mortgage payment which is extremely helpful. If you can please just fix the scrolling issue, I’d be using Redfin more than Zillow.

Go back!. Redfin has been one of the greatest apps to find available housing. Recently though, they have changed their app (for what reason I don’t know) at least on the mobile version. The prior version gave you an exterior picture of the given property then a full description of the house, mortgage rates, schools, comps and so on to scroll through. If you desired to see the additional pictures you could either click on the picture or scroll to the bottom of the description. Since they have changed their app all you see is the pictures of the house and almost no description making it look clunky and non descriptive. For the longest time it was what made them stand out from competitors like Realtor or some of the other search sites that have been confusing and useless over the years. GOD BACK TO THE PREVIOUS FORMAT!!! Between that and keeping up to date, it was what set you apart!

Great app save for an infuriating search filter omission.. I’ve been a long-time user of the redfin app. I think it’s a tremendous tool. But the fact that they do not allow you to add real estate taxes as a filter is beyond comprehension. I can’t tell you how much time I waste looking at listings only to find out the taxes are incredibly high (especially here in Illinois) and I just have to keep looking because the taxes put the listing outside outside my budget. I submitted a improvement request a couple years ago but obviously nothing ever happened. I just don’t understand why you can filter by so many different categories, but one of the most important items like taxes (which is a defined MLS numeric field so I don’t understand why it’s so difficult to add it) remains unavailable after all these years. It’s the same issue on their website. Come on Redfin. One of your web development guys could probably figure out how to add this filter in just a week or so. It’s been ten years. Make it happen!

Best Real-Time Push Notifications. Of the Redfin, Trulia, Zillow and Realtor apps, Redfin hands-down gives me the best real-time push notifications. None of the other apps can come close to touching it. Today, I received scores of “new to market,” “now pending,” “sold” and “back on market” notifications on homes for my areas of interest - all well before similar notifications from the other apps mentioned... and often not at all from them. Especially helpful are the “sold” notifications, which allow me to quickly see how the sale price of a home relates to its most recent listing price - an incredibly useful feature! Also love the “now pending” and “back on market” notifications. Keep up the fabulous work!!

The best real estate app! Love the features!. I love the features, such as being able to move the interactive map around to quickly search different areas, and the automatic commute time calculator- just input your work address one time under “add a commute” and it saves it forever, so every time you look at a home, it will automatically calculate the commute time for you (you can add up to 6 different addresses to calculate for you, as well!) It also has the “ flood factor” rating for each home,( on the location map) and school ratings! I also like to read the “tour insights “ that Redfin agents can leave about the home! The “ market insights” about an area are helpful as well! You can easily switch from a map- based to list based search and go back and forth, and switch from “ for sale” and “coming soon” to “ under contract” and “solds” (to check out prices in the area!) All the filters are great too- you can filter fir so many features, such as garages, pools, basements, hoa ( or no hoa!), view, waterfront, etc., primary bedroom on first floor, etc. And I also like being able to search the “sales history” for the home as well!! The even have a handy monthly “payment calculator” right u set each home that you can play around with editing how much you are putting down, etc! They keep improving the app, too! It’s great!

App provides great info, only fails to transition notifications between networks. I have been using Redfin for a while now (more than a year), and have been happy to get updates and notifications regarding houses/real-estate properties, based on my filters. One issue that bothers me though, is this: I have set Redfin to not work over Cellular network; now, if I open a notification while on Cellular network, the app opens to a blank page with a popup; at this point I lose the notification and the page, even if I switch to a WiFi network. I think it would be useful, if Redfin let me “pulldown” on the page to reload it, after having switched the network (if all of this is even possible). But this does not mean I don’t like the app. It works great, and provides me with awesome information about the properties that interest me, allowing me to make well-informed decisions and choices.

Best App To House Hunt. I love the app! Better than all the other ones out there when searching and comparing all of your options. We actually bought and sold through Redfin as well! I use the app frequently to see how our home is increasing in value and comparing to the other homes on the market in our neighborhood. I use it almost every day, even helping friends search for homes. My only gripe, and it’s super small, is that the email updates and links that Redfin sends out is very inconsistent with opening the app vs opening a web browser when clicking on a link. It’s like it can’t recognize that the app is downloaded on my phone. Must be a bug. Other than that, I highly recommend Redfin!

I need a reset button. Redfin is my go to house hunting app... & I’ve been following the market for several (like 4) years now. I do not use the desktop version , so I cannot rate that portion. Overall, this app is great. That being said, I am beyond frustrated with the “🔔 New Homes” tab (bottom, middle). Usually, this is a great feature that lists newly listed houses that Redfin believes you will be interested in. One of the reasons I used to like it was that it used to be a shortcut to finding back “that newly listed house” I was talking about so I could show it to them. However, my algorithm has somehow gotten off and it has started to show me homes far outside my price range & occasionally out of my area. There is no way that I can determine to fix &/or reset this. I can’t delete the house from the “New Homes” list nor does “x”ing the house out remove it from the list. It’s not like these houses are showing up in my actual searches, so why bother “x”ing them out? This has basically made the entire feature useless. I would love to reset it and have my “new home” tab back...

Needs a lot of refinement. Redfin’s app is great at the basics, from searching and reviewing properties right on through scheduling a tour. But once you move beyond your first few searches and want to refine things, it falls down fast. For example… Redfin caches the locations you’re searching and keeps serving up recommended properties in areas you’ve written off. The app doesn’t tell you it’s doing this so you probably don't know to turn them off. And finding this isn’t intuitive. You might think you could training this feature but that isn’t easy either. And you can’t manually create a cache for a specific area. When you reject a property, its removed from the map but still shows up in recommended properties and the feed. And creates notifications from status changes. The app uses your location, if turned on, as a starting point for searches and ignore the location you’re actually searching in. You need to keep adjusting manually. The app lumps all your favorite properties together and doesn’t allow you to group them by location like a building, town, or area. These are just a few nits, but together they make for a very frustrating user experience. I still use Redfin from time to time, but this keeps me using other apps to look for properties.

So close. I love the layout of Redfin. I LOVE that it factors in things like tax and ins on the payment estimates. And if this app would stop being glitchy, it would be a 5 star HANDS DOWN. I’m looking in a crazy sellers market. House go up and HOURS later they’re pending. I need an app that allows me to SEE the houses. I can click on a house. I can look at the pictures, but since your last update, whether or not I can scroll down to see the amazing details is random AF. Before that, it liked to close out at random times. I can’t say if it’s still doing it, because I rage quit after the 4th or 5th swipe up to see the details. For buyers, this is an amazing app. At least on IOS, be prepared for the glitches. I hope you work it out soon! I’ve have 7 weeks before we move and I need to find a house ASAP! I LOVE this app enough to leave a review and hope you get it worked out!!

Searching on Redfin. I have read the reviews and agree with the frustration level your App causes! And, I just experienced that frustration fully! I assume Redfin is trying to get people to come to their site as one of the leading online Real Estate companies in the So Bay! But that will not last long if you don’t pay attention to the ease of functionality on your site, which currently is not user- friendly, nor is it organized in a new-user way which means Redfin is probably losing out on a great deal of traffic because your site is so frustrating! Pay attention and be competitive if you want to create a good reputation in our small beach towns! Word travel fast in small towns! D’Anne T

You Broke a Good Thing :(. I used to love this app - the MOST user friendly app out there. Easy to show favorites, flag open houses, and really appreciate the way you show total costs up front, including any HOA fees, when calculating a monthly cost. However suddenly lower priced homes are no longer selectable for the open houses. Message says only that it's below Redfin's minimum price limit (that message used to be there, but you could ALSO click on the open house to add it to your list - that is no longer working). Also, when zooming in/out the map has changed so that it groups listings into "10" or "20" too easily instead of showing the individual listings. Not helpful at that level of zoom, should only happen when zoomed way out. Then zoom in and you're too close, seeing all the sold listings. Takes a lot more manipulation to get to the right view, esp where there a lot of homes on the market. If I'd done this a few months ago, it would've have been a 5-star rating, but can no longer do that given the new glitchy feel to the experience using the app. :(

Useless for viewings. Last night, I tried to set up a private viewing on the app. No matter what I did, I got an error message suggesting that I try again. Refreshing the app didn’t help. I tried to set up an appointment by texting the realtor. The text sent, but nobody responded despite the app saying that it would be a 40-minute wait. (As of now, it has been 16 hours and no response.) I tried to view two properties today, both of which were (and are) listed as having current open houses. The homeowner was present at one and confirmed that there was not an open house—he was surprised to learn that one was showing on Redfin. At the other, the house was clearly empty. The information is obviously not updated, the scheduling feature obviously doesn’t work, and the direct contact option is obviously failing as well. I was able to set up a viewing via Zillow. The response was immediate. It’s a shame; I prefer Redfin’s map.

Exceptional Experience with Redfin App. I have been using the Redfin app for quite some time now, and I am thoroughly impressed with its user-friendly interface, comprehensive features, and overall reliability. The app has made my home searching journey an absolute pleasure, and I can't recommend it highly enough! Navigating the app is incredibly easy, with intuitive controls and a clean design that allows me to quickly find the information I need. The property listings are detailed, providing relevant information such as property history, nearby amenities, and neighborhood insights. Additionally, the high-quality photos and virtual tours make it feel like I am physically visiting the properties, which is especially helpful during these times of social distancing. One of the standout features of the Redfin app is the real-time updates on new listings and price changes. This has been invaluable in helping me stay ahead of the competition in a fast-paced market. Moreover, the app also allows me to save my favorite properties and set up customized alerts for specific search criteria, making it a breeze to track my top choices.

Why remove driving times?!?(edit... it’s back!). Edit:(they listened!! Thanks for putting the driving times back in the app. Can’t overstate how great that feature is. Back to 5 stars) Why in the world would you remove the driving times from the app in this latest release?!?? That was arguably one of the best features. It still shows online so maybe it was unintentional or is simply a bug. PLEASE BRING IT BACK!!! (Thanks for the dev response but clicking driving directions to launch google maps is pointless. I want to see the driving times to multiple places, none of which are where I live or am situated currently. Still hoping that feature is put back in the next release. )

Overall a helpful tool. Redfin is a good app. Simple, transparent, and with good filters to narrow down real estate search. It falls short of a 5-star app because of two strange behaviors: 1. It doesn’t let you view all the homes for sale in a city based on Great Schools rankings. You have to zoom into a very small area for school-based filtering to apply. Until then, the filter simply doesn’t work. The way I like to do property searches is to look at an entire city (or custom area), filter on Great Schools ranking 8+, and then play around with the resulting options. The app doesn’t let you operate that way. 2. In select cities such as New York City, it requires that you re-enter your password to view the complete listing. Even after re-entering, the app takes you back to the restricted version of the listing as if you still haven’t entered the password. You need to kill the app and re-open it immediately to see the unrestricted listing. It’s a pretty annoying bug that affects me almost every session.

Great app with some frustrating bugs. I think this is by far the best real estate app available, but there are a few bugs in recent updates that are very frustrating to work with. 1.) the app continues for forget my saved commuter routes, which is one of the best features of this app, but recently, when I get into the app, 9 out of 10 times, there are no saved commutes. 2.) sold prices almost always reflect the listing price, and to actually see what a home sold for, you have to scroll down to the pricing history to see what it actually sold for. This seems to even out after a few days, but I have instant notifications set for a reason! 3.) the Redfin estimate is essentially useless. It’s usually within $2-3k of whatever the list price is, and in my market, it’s proved to be entirely useless as even an estimate. My Redfin agent would estimate a home would go $50k over ask, while the app based estimate suggested just about $2k over. When it sold? $48k over ask. Long story short, don’t even look at the estimate!

Great! Just a couple minor errors.. Hi! To be honest, I think Redfin is a great way you can look at houses from all around the world. It’s a good app that’s worth downloading and is very fun to look at when your bored. Just a few small problems! I think these bugs and errors are easy to fix, so please consider fixing them. Redfin is very laggy and glitchy, so it takes a while to load when I am first coming into the app. To test if it’s just MY WiFi, I check my internet connections and try out Safari, and everything works perfectly fine, so I hope you can fix that. Also, the app tends to kick me out from time to time, for no reason that I can tell of. Redfin sometimes is very complicated, though. Whenever I scroll through pictures of houses, Redfin brings me back to the very first picture when I’m still looking at one of the rooms or landscapes. It’s very frustrating. If these problems were fixed, I’d definitely give Redfin a five star ⭐️ ! Otherwise, Redfin is great. Thanks for reading my review and maybe you’ll even reply. 👍🏼

We used this app and worked with Redfin to find and purchase our home. It’s very user friendly!. A friend referred me to this app and I love it! We were looking for a home in Portland, OR and used the filters to narrow our search. The alerts are helpful when a new listing is added. The home details and photos are extremely useful and we benefited by seeing the estimated monthly payments and taxes. Also we used a Redfin agent to help us purchase our home. She was helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. All and all the house hunting and buying experience on Redfin is seamless and easy. I continue to use the app to see new listings, check the state of the housing market in my neighborhood and compare similar new listings with our home.

Almost there, but no shortcomings. This app is so close to being truly useful, but it has several glaring flaws. Generally speaking, I still think it’s better than Zillow (which I find has data accuracy issues), Realtor and Coldwell Banker, but the problems below impair my experience as a buyer. 1) The automated ‘Recommendations’ ignore search settings like price range and city and there is no way to ‘tell’ the algorithm what you don’t want to see. Why show me a house that is 50% above my price range and in a city where I have NEVER CHECKED A LISTING? Training the recommendation algorithm could be implemented using a ‘swipe left’ to eliminate a recommendation. Right now, ‘swipe-left’ circles back through a property’s picture gallery. Not super helpful and a waste of a gesture. 2) There is a ‘commute time’ feature when viewing a listing, which is great, but no way to filter results by it. I would like to be able to specify a commute (a user could select whether that commute is house-to-work or house-to-train) and see ONLY properties within that commute. The others are irrelevant but keep showing up. 3) There is no way to exclude specific cities from results. I don’t want to see properties in cities I do not want to live in, no matter how far I zoom out. Adding these features would make the Redfin app MUCH more useful for buyers like myself.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Brilliant ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Love Street View Option too.👍

Hides important history. Won’t correct mistakes.. What I find with this app is they hide important information from buyers like how many times a property has been taken off market and returned to market, how many times the price has been dropped etc like you can find on apps like Zillow which does not help you make informed decisions. I own a property that Redfin has listed the address incorrectly where I provided them proof with property taxes and mortgage. They refuse to correct the information and point to the company that scrapes data for them. Redfin had room count wrong, bathroom count wrong, unit count wrong, number of parking spots wrong and still refuse to correct the proper address. If you find a property on here, you’ll need to look elsewhere for good and correct information.

Redfin App. Great app and very detailed information and follow up when necessary. Lv the layout of the home and details necessary to make an informed decision. Very impressed. Tku.

Redfin app. Great app. Lots of great information to make informed decisions. I would suggest a new feature of a pin being placed on the map of the house that is being inquired about at the given time, or maybe, all the houses pinned on the map that were looked at during that session.

This app is crack ❤️. Love this app!! So easy to use and is more addictive than Facebook or Instagram 🤣❤️👍

Says I have 15 notifications. Open the app, no where to find notifications and nothing in my feed

Good app. Easy to use and never let me down

Awesome. Awesome

I like it!. Easy to navigate and extremely helpful for quick house searches.

All you need. My favorite real estate app ever.

Unable to filter town homes from detached homes.. Unable to filter town homes from detached homes which makes it super frustrating for the user as agents will post townhomes in detached secrion.

So helpful to view and compare on a map. We love how you can see large neighbourhoods with listings and prices. This helped us in our home search as well as helped us figure out what we should be listing as.

Too many bugs. I don’t all the properties. No matter how many times I update the app. Half of the are not showing up.

Review. 70% of the pictures don’t show up in the app

Sold Data Missing. The App UI is neat and slick, and very intuitive. The search and listing functions work top notch. It does show past sold icons, but does not give more details like list/sold price, days in market etc. How to activate that?

Redfin is Great as usual!. Love how you guys have adapted to Canada. I’ve lived in the US and loved your site there as well. Love how I can see what other homes in the neighborhood sold for as well. One little thing that is common here in Canada, that’s missing, are the dimensions of the lot “frontage 60 x 120 depth” Keep up the great work....

Ryan Wilcox. Best real estate app out there

no more Sold within 1 week / 1 month option. Please add back this option

Why no longer showing monthly maintenance fee?. Loved the app and website, it was my #1 platform until a few weeks ago when both the app and website stopped showing the monthly maintenance fee for condos.

No homes found for rentals. When I search for homes for rentals in Toronto or Calgary or any other city, it says No homes found even when all the filters are cleared.

It's been four days without an update. and it happened once one month ago

Good app. It so good

Best UX ever. Very easy and convenient. Lots of features that made it my only app for real estate. Recommended!

Great app - runs fast, no issues. Great app - runs fast, no issues

Widget does not work. Widget does not work, 5 stars otherwise

Why the change?. I use to be able to see the changes in sale prices but one day that stopped. That’s why this platform was better. Now it’s the same as the others.

Not ready for Canada. No idea about lot size. If you filter with lot size you will get 0 results. Randomly after applying filters the loader freezes and you have to kill the app. Happens A LOT! Details in the listing are bad. Almost nothing except what they shoehorned in from MLS. The app sucks big time right now. I have used if for US properties and it was okay. Im sure its mostly due to a lazy and careless release into our market using Canadian data. Ill try it again in 6 months hoping it works soon.

RedFin. Filters don’t work. Can’t search sold properties as the App suggests it can. Very disappointed with the App.

Must have for house searching!. This is a great app. It shows a map right away so you know if the house will be of any interest. The pictures are available easily and enlarge. The stats/history and nearby sales are available. Most importantly, homes arrive in my email very quickly when there is a new listing or change to a status or price. I am also on a local realtor's email blasts and Redfin's is always sent before hers. Love it,

Review per rachine. 48101.

New Listing - Zap! In your inbox!. Faster than other apps in letting you know about new listings. Check their map out to see how many condos are currently for sale and/or were recently sold. Terrific!

Can’t deal with it. I wanted to know price of my unit in condo in Toronto but failed

Excellent. Other apps are busy selling. If you want real estate info, this is your app!!!

Filter “sold within 7 days” feature removed….. I love the filter “sold within 7 days”, and use it daily. This filter got removed after the update…now the filter range starts at “sold within 3 months”…wish I could downgrade to the previous version :(( ——— 2022.11.18 Update The sold within 1 week and 1 month filters are added back, thanks Redfin!

Not showing Canadian houses. No Canadian house shown

Good on phone. I like the interface on the phone but on IPad, I can’t believe the videos of the places don’t show up and the link to street view is not there. It is close but need to iron out some of the issues.

It’s good for Ontario. Not all provinces show the previous listing prices so just know that before you download. I like that I can see the history of how long a home has been on the market, price adjustments, etc. The one thing I don’t like is the app icon will show that I have notifications, but when I enter the app I don’t see any notifications or why I received the notifications.

So slow!!. Since the last 3 version updates the app takes so much time to load and it forces me to switch to other apps. Please work on the performance issue. It should be a priority.

DO NOT DOWNLOAD!. I specifically selected prior to downloading for this app to NOT have access to my email address. Now I’m getting spammed with emails not only from them, but other companies under the same email address as them. Not impressed at all. I will be contacting Apple as well.

Bring back mortgage calculator!. Why TF did this get removed? The only reason I used this app over Realtor

Fantastic App. This is a fantastic app. Many features that even realtors don’t provide you. Perfect for anyone looking for more than just the listing sheet.

Redfin Website. It has so much information to make house hunting much easier. I have never seen such a user friendly real estate site as this one.

Great way to view listings. This apps permits me to view listings by easily incorporating many search features. Using the map view, I can view exactly the area that I’m interested in. The notifications are great. I’m able to get a listing even before the property is on the market! Wow!

Needs better search. Hate that it shows 1+1s when I only want 2 bedrooms. Also lags when changing the sort.

Can’t login. Can’t login

went from not bad to crap. before you used to be able to have your search feed updated with listings within your criteria that is no more without making an account, theres a nag screen to login. whats next a nag screen to input your visa to use this feature bye bye

Dark mode missing. Nice service but would like to have the UI to change to dark mode.

Listings aren’t updating. It’s been three days without anything new on the feed - corresponds with the last app update…

Perfect App. The best app

Best designed real estate app, but there are no entries!. Not sure if the app is broken, or if there just aren’t any users of this app, but launching it I found that there were no postings in any of the cities that I checked on. Really too bad too because this software is actually really nicely designed. Unlike their competitors, such as Rent Faster who make garbage software. But they just don’t seem to have any listings!

Broken interface design. On a large iPad, let the screen rotate already. Isn’t the point of an Apple login that you don’t need a password? Fix it.

A review for this app and their real estate service. Redfin is not as professional as any real estate agent companies I have used. Their agent tried to persuade me to give a bid which is 25% higher than the listing price after his so-called comparative study. But he didn’t include the 7 similar and current purchases that I have found which are cheaper than all his findings. The deal ends up with I won this in this bid with a 40,000dollars price less than Redfin agent’s suggested. Of course with a non-Redfin agent. And the seller under his Redfin listing agent’s instruction, tried to open a whole in my bathroom wall and leave in open through closing. And they kept lying to me during the communication. I was almost about to sue them. And then, I found Redfin disabled my use on Redfin app since I turned their buying agent town. Unprofessional estimation. Untrustworthy attitude. Go with Redfin, bring you a law sue and lose your money.

For recent sold properties, doesn’t show the sold price. I was doing some research for my new investment property. I pull a listing of recent sold properties in the area, and just realized that Redfin doesn’t show the sold price on the listing, but the Redfin estimate (Redfin estimate is significantly higher than the actual sold price), you can only view this information by clicking into each property and looking at the pricing history. The information given was a bit misleading, and the amount I paid is more than 5% higher than the sold prices of the other comparable units in the same building. I will switch to Zillow and Realtor instead..

Favorite house buying app. I love the app and I like that you can do comments and share with another buyer. The layout of the app is also great. The only thing I wish is that you could make public comments for other buyers to see versus just the comments from realtors that are often pointless. There should be a community option for people to write about their thoughts on the house in my opinion. They definitely push for you to use their realtors but I appreciate the option, even if my realtor doesn’t. Otherwise, love it.

Best App For Home Search. 4.5! I’ve tried a lot of the more popular apps out there right now for searching for homes. Why this one ranks at the top: 1. You can scroll through the pictures while on the screen that shows the list of houses in your search - instead of having to go into each house’s profile to view pictures 2. MY FAVORITE - you can search up to 5 cities with the same search criteria and filters at the same time. 3. The layout is so simple and clean 4. I like how it saves what you input into the mortgage calculator. This makes all of the estimated total monthly cost more accurate as your searching. 5. You can “favorite” or “xout” a property and it displays a small icon on the main search screen so you can stay organized on which properties you have seen and which properties you haven’t. 6. The feed screen is great. The biggest improvement I would like to see would be the ability to “favorite” or “xout” a property from the main search screen. Everything else is such a smooth experience. This feature can only be used when you go into the details screen.

Best Real Estate app. This app is great. Seemed to be updated within 24 hrs on current status on properties. I found that other apps weren’t current enough, resulted in me wasting time looking at stuff that wasn’t available. It helped me keep an eye on the market to make sure I got the best price point. Easy searching areas with filters. I used this App for months before I found a perfect house for me. I would recommend it to anyone and I tell anyone who’s looking to use it. Thanks Redfin for helping me find a house during Covid-19.

Review for Milwaukee area homes for sale. I am getting an idea of the home prices in the Milwaukee area as my son and his family may have an opportunity to move back there. He did his doctorate work there at the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee and they enjoyed living there. I enjoy seeing all the information you give on the houses including the down payments required. Thank you. Same son as above: My son and his family recently moved to the Milwaukee area and I enjoy helping them house hunt. I have enjoyed seeing the details about each home plus schools. Thank you!

The Redfin App. I love using this app because of its intuitiveness as well as the user friendly features available to the novice home buyer such as myself. I have been using the more popular competitor realty search engines with much anguish Redfin allows me to customize my property searches utilizing various criteria and I’ve been able to personalize the circumstances of my purchase abilities (interest rate, down payment etc etc). Also the short list feature is quite impressive as is the multiple property tour capabilities .

Love it but there are glitches. Always use Redfin to look and book house tours but there are definitely issues with the app. I have tried booking multiple houses but it would book some random houses that I aren’t even on my favorites list with the tours and drop the ones I want off. Also the tour times would be different from when I booked and have shown up to tours early because the email would tell me one time and the text message they send would say a different. I hope they can fix this. Otherwise I am still going to use the app.

A poorly designed tech stack. Rarely do I write reviews on apps that have a minimal effect on my life, but my frustration with Redfin merits an exception. Every time I get a (push) email for an apartment that looks appealing, I click on the link, only to find that I have to sign in again per local MLS rules. Fine. I do this, and it simply does not not work. Not sure if it’s at the API level, at the sign in connection to google level, or if the app is simply meant for low density areas, but it’s garbage. It’s a world class app for finding apartments, but that’s where the service stops. Advertises a million point B’s, with no way to get you there from point A.

Favorite House Hunting App, one Request. I’ve tried several apps, and this one is my favorite! I love the ability to not only draw my search radius, but also the ability to type in and search for multiple counties at once. This makes it very precise and exact since I’m not the best drawer. I also love how you can enter in your commute addresses, and it tells you the distance in each house’s profile. My one request/recommendation for improvement, would be the ability to filter houses by the commute distance so we don’t have to click on each house to see this info. Then it would be the perfect app and 5 star worthy!

Gone downhill. I used to love the Redfin app, and I wish I still did, but the continual notifications on my app, but no indication as to what the notification is for is pointless and ridiculous. I reached out to Redfin, and they said that in fact the notifications were acting as needed - you’ll get the badge notification but within the app, it doesn’t tell you why. I would like to understand why there’s a notification - did a favorited home sell? Did a favorited home go back on the market? No one will know, redfin would like to bait you and have you take the time to go figure it out yourself. So, guess I’ll be turning my notifications off. It would be nice is there was some common sense for notifying users.

So mad!. I was using this app for months while trying to find a house and for some reason one day, it logged me out of the app and I had to log back in. After logging back in, NONE of my saved houses are still saved. It completely cleared my history and all the work I’ve done, on top of being so glitchy in the first place. It doesn’t hold on to commute times that you enter in (even though its supposed to), the map is glitchy, clicking on a house is like rocket science if that house is directly next to another being sold. Redfin needs to get their act together because this app got really crappy, VERY quickly. Update: WHY are you guys unavailable in Medford Oregon, but work in Coos Bay and Roseburg? This makes absolutely no sense because Medford is huge compared to coos bay and roseburg.

Don't understand why this is so hard..... Dear Redfin, Please, PLEASE, for the love of all that is sane, just tell us how to remove a city from our searches! I don't understand why this is so hard to do on your app. Please add a function to 'remove city' or 'update desired sale location' - something, please! I literally get notifications from a city I have no intention of moving to, just because I searched one time around that area out of curiosity and now, I receive MORE sale notifications from that one city than the current city I live in and even the surrounding cities around my area! It's annoying. HELP PLEASE!

My Go To App for Real Estate. Have been a fan of Redfin since its inception. The app’s advances have been timely and spot on. I’ve used the nearby feature and filters locally as well as when traveling. I am spoiled using the app for scouting areas; so spoiled that I am disappointed when I get that “out of area” message...but also delighted that Redfin’s geography continues to expand. The app’s estimates seem on target. Love, love the easy to use Redfin and happy to share it with others who use the more cumbersome, not always updated, competing real estate apps. Redfin is a winner!

Best app, but still flawed. This is my go-to app for house hunting. It allows me to add homes to favorite lists and they recently expanded the ability to create different lists, which makes it easier to keep organized. What I absolutely hate is there is no way to customize what homes are recommended for push notification. I’m looking for a very specific type of house in a particular county. I get push notifications for houses that don’t match or are in neighboring counties or states. 90% of my push notifications are absolute noise. But, I tolerate it because the rest of the app is extremely useful.

My Realator. I cannot say enough about Carlsbad Realtor James George. These days we are all extremely busy and we need someone who is competent, forthcoming and not over bearing with their client. It is a difficult task to obtain the winning bid on a home in this market, sell your home for the right price, navigate all this while trying to work and it is all but impossible. James George was able to do just that for my family. All because he listened and cared from the start and went to work right away in coordinating it all. Kudos to James George - I cannot say enough!

New list feature completely messed up. [Update 2/14] The issue was fixed. Nice customer service. [Original] Used to love Redfin and it’s one of my most often used app on my phone, however the newly released list feature completely messed things up. My previous favorites are still in the list of my saved homes, in a completely random order no matter how I configure it!! This bug makes it impossible to track updates on my recent likes. Huge bummer! Large amount of value using Redfin were lost due to the issue. Please please please fix asap or rollback!!!

Great App / Strong Data / Weak Realtor. My app experience was very positive. Head and shoulders above Trulia / Zillow in terms of data. The payment structure of RedFin realtors seems to be different from other realty companies. Not positive for buyers. We were left high & dry by our rep at RedFin during a very contentious buying process- would not recommend for buyers. In fact, in buying - there’s very little reason to use a realtor. Remember realtors are incentivized only by volume. If you’re buying/selling your first home, please watch the first five minutes of the doc “Freakonomics”... pretty much nails the realty industry. Realty is the art of promising all/encompassing knowledge on everything about a property- then immediately forgetting it upon showing.

I’m a big fan!. My wife and I live in Florida and we started shopping for a second home, in Connecticut, in November 2021. It took us about one year, but using Redfin, as our primary resource, along with an excellent realtor, we were able to find the perfect home in Guilford, CT. Redfin’s website is incredibly user friendly and it had the information I needed to find the right homes that fit our wants and needs. Redfin helped to narrow the choices of which homes we should see in-person. I’m a big fan!

Cumbersome Features/Misleading. The estimated mortgage feature is quite burdensome on the iPad version…you have to adjust each factor individual which is in a separate form interface…boo! The “major flood area” is inaccurate…if insurance companies aren’t requiring flood insurance, you’re not in a major flood zone. Dictated a major flood area that doesn’t get rain 8 straight months out of the year. Okay. Much more likely to burn up. Underestimates the estimates, but then jacks up their estimate once it hits the market. Misleading period.

House is never showing up. App constantly has issue with showing full list of on market houses. For one time I had to delete and reinstall the app to make it show properly. But after several days it’s broken again. I even mark the house as favorite but when I check on the map there’s none on that location (I thought it’s some filter malfunction but even if I remove all the filters the house is still not popping up). I have less and less preference to Redfin now. The price history is often incomplete; it also randomly assigns me a home and constantly report to me how much is the market value for “my home” and ask me if I want to sell… thank you for letting me be a ‘home owner’ though.

Great updates & mapping -- Beware asking questions!. This is a fantastic app that offers all you need to know about properties in the area in which you're looking. You can choose an existing area or draw your own boundaries. A great feature is being able to literally map out your open house schedule with a tap from inside the app. Just one caution: Don't ask a question on the app or site. If you do, you will be assigned a Redfin agent who will be the same person regardless of what part of the country your search takes you to. And it's hard to get them to let go.

Really good. Love everything about the app but a couple improvements needed. 1) Show all alert activity somewhere. If I have multiple alerts they sometimes disappear from my notifications after I click the first one. Also if I have an alert on the icon I’m not sure where there are updates for me to check - comments from my wife or new listings or what. 2) On a couple screens there is a build that takes a second or two to load and it moves the screen down. This gets to be annoying when going through multiple listings and yo have to wait or accidentally click the wrong thing and have to go back. One example is the listing screen where the details load.

Great app!. I love Redfin, have been using it for years on my PC and iPhone and now on the iPad. It gives me the information I need, has great organization, love the saved searches. A couple of added features to further define searches would be: ability to search on homes with or without basements, by neighborhoods and by annual real estate taxes. I realize that probably not all this information is included in an MLS database or whatever database you are drawing from but I really wish it were available.

Recent update to their feed makes it useless. The feed that previously allows you to toggle/switch between what is new, changed, price drop, etc, is now consolidated into one feed. They removed the option to just review what is new. This makes it useless and now I need to go to my search, change the sort by, and then view what is new near the top of the top of the list. They also removed the push pin to quickly view the map of a home without having to open the listing, scroll down, click the map, see if it’s a good area, back out, back out, and then repeat for each new home. So much more clicking. Guess it’s back to the website for me, and removing the app, or at least not using the app frequently until those features are back.

Everything is awesome about this app except personalization. I love Redfin. I love looking through the selections, I love how it flows through from photos of the house to the listing etc. I especially love the finance calculator. What I hate is the feed. It is so bloody difficult to make really useful. 1 out of every 20 houses is something I would consider. I just want another setting that says “only show me houses in this area I’ve circled”. My pattern right now is open feed, get excited, click into house, scroll down to map, click into map, zoom out, see that it is in the same neighborhood I have no desire to move to, close app.

Ruined by updates. This is the most unbelievable botching of features I’ve ever seen in app that worked great for over a decade. Favorites is now useless because the sort and filters don’t work regardless of what combination you try. Favoriting/unfavoriting is now a hassle. Browsing in map view now gets an annoying popup when you have no results stopping you from scrolling (aka browsing!). Plot lines are gone. House info / pictures loses space to ads and realtor pictures. Switching between map and satellite is now confusing and a pain. Wow, did anyone working on this update ever look for a house? How did this happen? Huge feature changes all of which add no value and make the app almost unusable for its purpose.

Could be improved. I like Redfin a lot but there are a couple of things that are super annoying and/or could be improved: 1. “Liking” a property should not be a 2-step process. Should not open annoying “save” box. Just click heart and it’s done, like instagram. 2. It’s very unhelpful to have “Open Tues 11am” as a preview for a property with an open house, especially when you are trying to see many that day. Much better would obviously be, “Open Tues 11am-2pm”. Closing times vary and should be noted at a glance. 3. On the desktop version, you can’t look at photos full screen (like you can on Zillow). All photos should be able to be fully expanded to full screen and then magnified. There are details like door hinges & floor tiles that matter. 4. A cool idea would be a feature to “pin” a photo you like to a saved folder. This is more for things like a bathroom remodel that looks great in a house you can’t afford. People screenshot now, but would be cooler to save in the app, like Instagram “saved” folders. 5. Clicking “current location” should not erase my filters. Very annoying that it does.

Favorites not working. For the past few weeks I have been diligently searching for a home. Every time I see a house I am interested in I click favorite so I can put together a list of potential homes. All that effort has gone to waist as I can’t access my favorites list. I just sit there while it loads forever. And when I use the computer it says I have only 1 house favorites. Like I’ve been waisting my time, I have updated the app and tried restarting but nothing. If this issue was fixed I’d give it a better score.

Hands down the best app to find a HOME!. Well I can’t really say anything bad about Redfin as I’ve been very satisfied with the results it comes up with even though Oklahoma City has gone up in price but I’m sure everywhere has but it’s just crazy to see houses for the same as I’m paying for a 2bed one bathroom apartment 1300$ just for rent now that’s just crazy it’s still the highlands aka the ghetto! DO NOT MOVE TO INDIGO APARTMENTS as it’s the absolute worst place I’ve ever lived! And for that price we should be in a house! This place is evil! Redfin is the best app bcuz it’s getting me out of this craphole of a place and into a home! Can’t wait thanks Redfin!!!!

Too many recent bugs. I used to love using this app and preferred it to Realtor because it would show new properties sooner. Recently however, there seem to be so many issues with its functionality. I get alerts to my phone, and when I try to open them, they don’t exist in the app. Even though I have set it to show me my most recent favorites first in the favorite list, it is still ordered randomly so I have to scroll through my entire favorites list. It’s a crazy buyers market right now and having an easy, up to date and functional app to use is key to being best informed. I hope these issues can be fixed soon.

Search is OK but the feed stinks. There appears to be no way to tune the feed to show homes in the price range and locations you want to see. Yes you can tunes one region at a time or stop showing homes over a certain price point, but you can’t limit to a specific region/town or set of towns and you can’t block homes at a price point lower than your range. This makes it really difficult if you are considering multiple job offers in different states with different price points.. everything you have ever searched for shows up I your feed and Tuning the feed I next to impossible. I have emailed Redfin support and after 3 days I don’t even have an acknowledgement of my email. I DO like the open house feature, but I will be using Zillow for most other search capabilities.

Commute calculations are the best!. I love this app! My favorite feature is being able to add in destinations to see how far a potential house is from things. With that being said, I wish these destinations were contextual, like per a “state profile”. An example of this, if I am looking in the Denver, Colorado area, I don’t care how far a destination is in Seattle, Washington. But I also don’t want to remove the destination because it is time consuming removing and re-adding destinations when bouncing around potential areas.

Features missing and outdated info on mobile app. Like all apps of this kind, redfin is a mess too. Homes that show on sale on desktop are off market on mobile. 3d walkthrough i'm looking at on iphone is missing on the same home when viewing from ipad. Would be wonderful to have some consistency. Not sure why it's so difficult. On top of it why the heck can't i just see home values at a reasonable zoom? Why do i have to zoom all the way in? Why does it glitch out homes and home prices on the map so often that it needs the app to be killed? Just show all homes, show the same status everywhere, and have the same general features on every platform - i don't mean all features but i assume the walkthrough is a major feature given how much redfin advertises it.. right?

I really like the app but would love to see this. I really love the Redfin app. It’s been very helpful in my home search. One of the things that I would like to see is to see things show up in the feed that are actually relevant to the filters in your saved searches. For example if the home I’m looking for is a certain square footage at a certain price point I would rather not see homes that are not fitting what I’m looking for on either the high side or the low side of the price point. For example the feed will show you almost every new listing even if it’s extremely out of your budget or extremely under your budget. To go a step further it would be great to implement this

Don’t use Redfin Realtors!!!. I made an appointment to check out the house...the realtor didn’t know anything about the house. The app forced me to complete a survey on the realtor before I was allowed to use the app again. I gave an honest review on her. She texted me that evening and told me that she received my poor review on her and she tried coming up with excuses to why she wasn’t helpful. I emailed Redfin to complain about how the app doesn’t protect those who are submitting the surveys. Then they send me an email back asking if I needed any assistance with anything else. I didn’t reply for 8 hours then they sent me another email saying that since they haven’t heard from me that they would close my complaint. Redfin customer service and their realtors are not helpful at all.

Needs more filters and better recommendations. HATE seeing a house that meets all my search filter requirements to see that it’s in a 55+ community or doesn’t accept VA or is Cash Only. There needs to be an option that you can check off so you won’t be shown homes that can’t be financed the way you’re looking to finance or that you can’t live in because of age restrictions. In addition to needing new filters, Redfin's “recommendations” just seem to me to be any and all new listings. There are houses that get recommended that are too small, not enough rooms, or over my search price; like the site doesn’t even check the listing against my search parameters. It’s just a little more coding, come on guys, get it together and make this app (and site) better for us buyers!

THE BEST!!!. Redfin ranks as the most user friendly app, providing you with ALL the information you could possibly want, easy to see slides of all the pictures available of that home you’re interested in and, they make it easy to save homes that catch your eye! It’s easy to set up appropriate filters and choose areas in which you wish to live. I am so pleased with the entire Redfin experience! GREAT APP if you’re really trying to find just the right home. I’m sure I would appreciate all these same advantages when I’m ready to sell!

Love Hate relationship..... I used to love this app, but unfortunately, if you’ve EVER have searched on a house type, it continues to send you info about that house type, even though it no longer suits your needs. For example, at one point, we were considering selling both our house & our parents & all move in together, which meant we were looking at larger (5+ bdrms) more expensive homes. Then the plan changed and we returned to our original plan of just buying a house for my immediate family (3+ bdrms) at a much lower price point. I still get notifications based on OLD searches.

I haven’t had the best experience. I love the app because, it shows me all the houses around the location I’m looking for. Each house has a description and everything is laid out nicely. The only problem which is a big one none of their agents are contacting me back. I start the process with one agent and then they don’t seem to contact me back. Then I try to contact another agent and they don’t even respond to me. So I mean I guess if you want to contact someone about the hose your wanting go to another app. This seems to have helped me. I found the houses I liked on Redfin and then downloaded another app and found the house on there. Then contacted those agents since they seem to respond back to my emails, text messages and even calls.

Good start; needs more options/features. I get pop-up notifications on new & changed properties, but there needs to be a way to simply go to a list of property notifications, and view them in categories (e.g., all multi-families, all in a certain zip). There should be more robust features, such as ways to better categorize and view lists of properties I “like” (such as by area, price, property type, rating). It would help to be able to rate them in some way, so I can focus on those I like most, vs. seeing every single “liked” property in a massive list.

Love Redfin🤗. Whether you are looking for your forever home, your flip,a rental property, you realize that the parents’ house just is not going well, your until we need more space, or less. And here’s the big one… you need new neighbors or more neighbors or neighbors with kids and sometimes just no neighbors!😄 Whatever the case may be , #redfin is my favorite for finding it! I lOVE the tools that they have for finding your best fit! Their updates and alerts are fantastic! They have aided us in finding our last three homes! And now in helping us buy our fourth🤗 Thank you Redfin😊

Glitchy and annoyingly revisionist. The app has made it very difficult to save search preferences/filter info. Like, it says it does but then it doesn’t. I also hate that the “Redfin estimate” revises its historical estimates. Like, it happened. The app said the house was worth a lot more than its current estimate for over a year, but now that the market has cooled off, instead of just revising the current value to reflect the change in the market, it’s gone back in and changed its historic predictions. I think that’s really misleading and lame. In summary, I’m not mad that the market changes; I’m annoyed that Redfin changes what they thought the house was worth, for example, a year ago based on what it’s worth now. That’s sketchy.

Would 5 Star App if the Bug is Removed. I love using the Redfin app and the Saved Search Function but there is a Bug that is getting on my nerves I don’t know if anyone else can relate to this but whenever I Saved a Search with my preferred filters selected after sometime some of those filters gets unselected without me doing nothing besides me going into the Saved Search edits to check it out which makes this very annoying since I have a lot of Saved Searches that I have to go through to see if somethings changed without my knowledge.

Website limitations. While we deeply appreciate the usefulness of your website the user would greatly benefit if the “rules”were followed. We set upper sales price limits but cannot set minimums. Further, why are Mobilehomes included when we have not asked to include them in our list? Why can’t you set the list of homes from high to low or low to high sales price? Why are homes listed as a new listing when in fact they aren’t? Why can I see the listings by age of the dwelling? Or see the homes within a. Certain radius of a major building or commercial center? Why can’t we limit our search within a certain radius? Please improve our search features. Thank you so much.

Best Realty App and it is not even close. It is the most complete and current app for real estate-- bar none. Other apps like Zillow (most overrated app) dont stay current. Redfin records sales every hour, so if u see a listing u will know whether it is really for sale or not. Also their property records database is super duper helpful. Only flaw is it is not in all areas, but is in MOST of the country. Heck we bought our house a year ago (redfin was the only app w the correct current list price btw) and I am still cruising this thing bc it is just plain fun.

always feels beta. I like Redfin, have bought and sold prop with them, and I like their excellent website. But this app is just sorta endlessly annoying. Basic, frustrating glitches / design stink up the delivery of really useful data. Can’t clear searches. Can’t return to any sort of fresh start page or home page. Can’t delete ANY recent searches…yep, even crap or erroneous searches you don’t care about just float around in a list at top of page waiting for you to…? Can’t be removed. Confusing notification / alert system (too many choices). Confusing update feed parameters (too many choices). Confusing mapping function messes with / corrupts the ‘list’ view too easily.

Unbelievably greedy with their icon design. I’d been a loyal Redfin customer for years- loved their app for their precise interface. That is, until they decided to replace the icon with a GIANT icon that I now cannot move nor manipulate. This giant icon no longer reads “Redfin” and instead reads “enable Location access in settings”. It now takes up the same space as two or three whole icons on my iPhone and there’s nothing I can do except to delete the app altogether - which I will do after posting this review. It’s unbelievably selfish of Redfin to -demand- this from their app users in exchange for having the app icon revert to normal size and name- there are many of us who want to opt out of certain privacy settings. Redfin can still glean plenty of data from our user profiles and searches as well as clicks. Do better, Redfin.

Best Realtor App Out there. I’ve used them all but must say that I prefer Redfin overall. First off, the app shows you what past pricing was, so you’ll know last sale price and be able to determine if you’re looking at a property that was bought cheap and a flipper through on some cosmetics and now trying to make a lot of money. I for one want nothing to do with those properties. Second, in the details section it tells you a lot of info that a realtor won’t share with you unless you invest your time in them. Third, I have often requested more info on property and when i do, i typically hear from a redfin agent within a few hours. they provide info and contact if you like but don’t pressure you with typical real estate sales I see this as the direction of real estate. I can view 100 properties in a day vs. driving around with agent seeing 2 or 3. I’m hooked on this app and think any smart home shopper will be too.

Bug and Missing feature. The most annoying thing about this app is I get all these notifications and when I click it it doesn’t go to the house. It only does it when app has restarted, subsequent notice just won’t respond. The other issue is the lack of filter for single story home, which weird enough is available on their website. So my saved search on the website is totally useless in this app. Edit: While it’s nice to see a response from the developer it isn’t very helpful nor encouraging to ask me to email the customer service. This just means they outsourced it to some 3rd party that writes these templated auto response to customer complaints, which is most unhelpful!
