Dropbox: Cloud Files Storage Comments & Reviews 2024

💸 Want to send money abroad for free?

We transfer money over €4 billion every month. We enable individual and business accounts to save 4 million Euros on bank transfer fees. Want to send free money abroad or transfer money abroad for free? Free international money transfer!

Great! But.... Ok, so first off, I want to let the devs know that they did an amazing job making this app. It has a simple design, looks great, and is very user-friendly. One thing is that Google Drive offers 15GB for free, while I think Dropbox only offers 2GB. Maybe for the free version, upgrade that a little bit. Anyway, I mainly use Dropbox over any other service, because I believe it's better, but I might have to switch to Google Drive for more free storage. The one thing that I would add to it, is shortcuts. For example, if I could have all my files in one big folder, and them scatter them across different folders using shortcuts to the same file, in the big folder. I use Dropbox to keep my music MP3's, but I can't have them in different floders without copying and pasting, which would take up twice the storage. I would have multiple folders, and ,for example, have my song in one folder, and another, without doubling the storage. I would want them both to point to the MP3 in the big folder with all my files, that I mentioned before. I would love to have this tool, and I'm sure a ton of others would. This would definitely bring you over the top better than the other cloud storage providers. Thank you for making an awesome program for us to use!

Downhill. I’ve used Dropbox for a few years now. Recently I’ve had time to look over my cloud options and it looks like Dropbox is always behind the other major players in this field. I will be canceling this subscription as the other cloud services always seem to offer more and are easier to navigate. I’m usually to busy to look at all the features but over the last month I feel like I’m getting ripped off by Dropbox. Yes it’s my fault for not looking into these cloud services but over the last month I realized that 2 other cloud services are more user friendly and just overall a superior to Dropbox in every way. If nothing else from my review, do your homework and use the free month on all cloud services so you know what you are getting. Go up to a computer repair center and ask for cloud advice. This service isn’t right for me but it may be perfect for the next person. Just try a couple different cloud services before settling on one.

Now that it’s fixed, it works well.. A few days after leaving this review with a one star rating the issue was fixed. When this app is working it’s quite good. This app was great until a few weeks ago when an update removed the ability to close a file and have the entire screen be for the titles of files. As it is now, the only way one can view titles of files that are more than seven characters or so is to start the process of moving a file which then gives a screen that shows the titles. I pay annually for Dropbox and thus have another 9 months before it will be financially feasible to switch services, but if you have not already paid for Dropbox, I cannot stress this enough, DO NOT PAY FOR THIS app. At least until such time as they correct this issue. It is practically unusable as is.

Horrible Background Battery Usage. I really love the app and it gives me the ability to share my files between my iPad and my desktop computer easily. I originially got Dropbox because Google Drive was draining my battery by constantly running in the background. Well, my battery has been draining again over time by almost 30% or more at times. I checked my battery usage and Dropbox was running in the background for 7 hours straight. Why? I looked up the issue, and someone mentioned the only way to fix it was to disable it in the File app on my device, but I don’t want to do that, because sometimes I do need to access things from that app, or move things that way. I understand that it checks the folder in Files and makes sure everything is synced to the actual Dropbox app, but 7 hours? There’s also an issue where if I upload items to Dropbox within the app, if I close the app, it stops uploading. I have to have the app open for it to finish uploading. I’ve never had to deal with that before. Not sure if these are Apple issues or Dropbox issues. I hope there’s another fix for it though, because I shouldn’t be going to sleep with my iPad at 100% and waking up to it already down to 70%. I guess I will do the temporary fix in files for now, unless I find another cloud service that doesn’t drain my battery all day.

One year no change. A year ago I reached out for help bc all of my photos I edited on my phone or the hundreds of “portrait mode” iPhone photos were uploaded in their original mode and their “edited” portrait mode. When you click “automatic upload” it uploads your photos in chronological order with dates they were created. Which is great. On the portrait mode or any edited photo, it uploads two versions. I was going through and looking at file size and deleting the one that wasn’t edited so that my terabyte of storage wouldn’t be full. The tip they gave me was to click “manual upload” and manually upload all of the portrait mode or edited photos that I wanted to not have doubled. I did this. The photos were not uploaded by date taken and the file names were changed. But they were not doubled. Then, I clicked “automatic upload” to upload all of the other unedited photos and it still uploaded the edited ones I had manually uploaded bc the file names were different. I have reached out a handful of times about having an option to click or fixing the manual upload bug that changes the file names and causes more duplicates. No changes have been made. Dropbox is the most expensive storage app but don’t expect the most expensive quality.

Awesome love love it,!!!. I love this app & don’t know how I would get all my years of photos & Docs. W/out it!!? No matter what device or if I lost my phone even a new number I can always count on the Drop box for my most treasured items!! Thank you Drop box for years of keeping my most important things safe and I never have to worry! This app is easy to use but with many important features for more complicated work projects or for creating art. I love that it is never evasive it only keeps tract of what you want it to by sending to Drop box with just one press of a finger. That’s why I love it I don’t feel stocked by the makers of this app & if you care about these things to don’t hestitate to down load and you get a lot of good storage for free and if you choose you can get more for a more than reasonable price a year!

Dropbox has been hard, but paintings look amazing. Ok so really Dropbox is good at some things and amazingly competent at other things. They will not support the Dropbox app ( I didn’t know) the instructions are finally being edited for clarity and ease of understanding. Answers can be hard to get, although they reply fairly quickly, simple answers can take multiple emails. Now the amazing way they make my digital scans of paintings is off the charts!! Stratosphere type work. The files fit the whole frame for mobile responsive design. The file handling can be screwed up to easy( layers and nested files and folders) as you learn. I had a hard time learning Dropbox, but it was mostly my fault and now I’m really enjoying Dropbox and trying to explore all the options available.

Attach a Dropbox File to an Email from Within Gmail Not Supported on an iPad. I am paperless and use DropBox for literally everything business and personal, therefore, I find it extremely annoying and cumbersome that when composing an email using Gmail on my iPad I cannot attach a file directly from Dropbox. When I select the attach function (paper clip), the only options for attachment sources that appear are Google Drive, camera roll, and recents. The online help forums state that I should approach the problem in reverse, namely, open my file in DropBox then select Open File in Gmail. While this does open a new Gmail message with the file as an attachment, this backward workaround is useless if I already have started composing an email within Gmail because the attachment cannot be assigned to another preexisting email within Gmail. Also, there seems to be no way to attach more than one file to the same email. Email attachments are a very basic function that every user needs so I would think DropBox would make fixing this issue a priority.

One last thing. I’m really happy u added a Dark version to it, now I’m not straining my eyes with all the white, I never liked bright things, but to get to the point, there’s one last thing I would love for u to add to the app. I download audio files on Dropbox and I use it to listen to it when ever my WiFi decided to cut out for a few hours (ya it does that I’ve been trying to get it fixed) now it plays the files just fine, but whenever the song ends, it doesn’t go to the next one, so I have to stop whatever I’m doing, go the the app, and either replay the same song or just find a new one to listen too. And I don’t like being stopped in the middle of drawing or doing work. Is there a way u could add a media player or something? Like when u play a music or video file it just goes or opens up the media player? Plz if u can do it I’ll be very great full, I'd definitely have less distractions when I do my work.

Thank Goodness for Dropbox!. I’ve been using this app for...holy cow! Almost ten years! And over those years I’ve had 15 different devices: 1 laptop, plus numerous phones and tablets. I always install Dropbox as part of setting up any new device. About a year ago I met a young couple in crisis, suddenly homeless after his dad died suddenly and they lived with him. The landlord locked them out as the coroner departed...anyway; I naively let them stay with me and they robbed me. The worst thing they took was every dead iPad from the last ten years and all the photos therein. Years of photos, irreplaceable photos of children and grandchildren, even photos of older photos of my parents as newlyweds, etc...they are so precious. Fortunately, I have Dropbox and all my photos upload automatically.

App disables your account for no reason. I have had dropbox for years and one day i tried to login and it suddenly says log back in again. I do it several times and it doesn’t work. After the 3rd try it disables my account. I try to go to support to write to them and it also gets disabled which makes it impossible to tell them what is going on. You are voiceless if you get locked out. Then i go to Twitter and they don’t respond for days I try to send them a message from a different dropbox and it says it has to be logged in from the same email you need help from which they have disabled. I have been waiting for days and they have not emailed me back to solve the issues. I will call my legal team soon. They are horrible at helping you when you are stuck and no phone number to call. On top of that they keep charging me every month. I recommend working with a service that can be reached In crisis. Even if you have the plus account you cannot reach them unless you are logged in but if you are locked out how are you supposed to get through ??? They will say send us an email from the same account that you are locked out from but you cannot because they do mot accept outgoing emails. The staff is untrained and you can lose all your data. My legal team is ready to bash them for there shameful ways Very low grade system. I lost so much money losing access to my files these days. Horrible.

The love is gone.... I used to love Dropbox. Started using it when I was a student when it first came out. Now I used it mostly for ebooks in the .prc files and export directly to Kindle. Have it on both my Iphone and Ipad. But for some reason after the last update I cannot directly export those books to Kindle anymore. When I click on the file Dropbox doesn't recognize it as a Kindle document anymore and came across as data and said it is incompatible with Kindle when exporting. I have been doing it for years. It still works on my Iphone because I have not updated. I was planning to upgrade to a better account but with this issue I am about to jump ship and forget Dropbox altogether. Every major update brings more headache. I am considered tech savvy and can navigate thru pretty much major upgrade/updates on most apps. But this is just too much. I have many files in .prc and now cannot export.

Dropbox best of its kind!. Dropbox is the best office suite and photo storage solution. It outdoes all competitors in the industry for cloud storage or just storage along with many other services that mostly come free. Or small monthly fee. They offer 200gb + of data and more if you choose. It is safe secure easily functional to navigate. I believe Dropbox is the future of computing. Have not had to reach out to the customer service team directly because the knowledge base is very interactive with the user. Can’t wait to see them move into e-commerce for a one stop shop for all external services and e-commerce needs. So that we can limit the amount of technological vendors and services we users depend on. Thank you at the team at dropbox keep up the amazing work cheers to all of the great innovations that we hope to see for personal and professional applications through Dropbox. Out performs workspace for google any day. Even maybe Microsoft office but they do integrate well.

Stop changing stuff!. Why do you guys constantly insist on changing the whole interface of the app? Seriously. Every update things are different, and not in a good way. Also, I can’t scroll down on my synced folders anymore. It makes my files disappear when I try. This started after the recent update. I’m not one of those “let me speak to your manager” kind of people but I just had to let you know how bad my experience has been so far. Please fix it, and leave it that way unless there’s a really important bug to fix. Also gave you 5 stars because I know you’re hard working people over there and I pay for pro. Don’t hate the app, just hate the constant changes to the overall look of the app that honestly seem more like a step backward than forward.

Not working correctly! HELP! /Thanks 4 fixing. I’ve been using Dropbox on my iPhones since 2013. It always worked great until this past month. I use dropbox for my camera roll upload on my iPhone. My windows PC is connected to dropbox also since 2013, so I can copy my camera roll photos from dropbox onto my computer. For the past month the only upload that dropbox is taking from my camera roll is the videos I record. For some reason dropbox is not recognizing any photos that I take that are in my camera roll. Can you Please help fix this! Thank you. 👍“”THANKS 4THE EMAIL & THANKS 4 FIXING 😊! I did what you said about clearing the apps cache. And the photos work now. And also thank you for taking the time to email me and tell me what I needed to do. I really appreciate you caring enough to let me know. Thank you again😊””

More Flexible. I’ve been using Dropbox for a while now. I agree with some others that the 2 GB should be increased by now to keep up with competition. I also think their should be more flexibility with the system but it seems you are actually going backwards. Instead of making things easier to use like saving photos to your device or moving files from Dropbox to your computer you are trying to discourage people from doing these things. If I want to store an image on my iPhone photo album I am going to do that. Also when you open the app if goes to recent files instead of your folders where everything is. Then you can hide the recent files under settings but instead of removing the tab you just hide the files and replace it with a button that allows you to show recent files. Completely useless settings option.

Dropbox doing everything they can to devalue the free account. I know that Dropbox needs to make money to survive but going from $0 to $120/yr is a huge leap for what is now a commodity service. I don’t need 2TB of storage and there’s nothing in between. For cloud storage all I need is like 20GB (which Dropbox doesn’t even offer). For secure cloud backup use something like Backblaze. The new-ish three device limit is so annoying I am likely to just swap over to Box and be done with Dropbox. I have like 6 devices that I used to sync up. Removing free features certainly won’t “convince” me of the value of Dropbox paid plans and is more an indicator of how little I can trust Dropbox. Perhaps it’s intended to get rid of customers who won’t pay $120/yr. At least they haven’t had a security breach (that I’m aware of) for a few years. Please remember to encrypt any files on Dropbox that you don’t want someone else to read.

Feature needed!. Hi! I've been your client for over a year now, and I truly believe Dropbox is the best cloud storing app out there, it's the only one I pay and need honestly. I would just really love if it would give me the option of deleting what I upload, right there in the app after uploading my pictures and files. IPhone is too bad to organize pictures because they're all on the camera roll, so I usually organize them on Dropbox, but it's kind of annoying having to go back to my pictures or my files to look for the exact same archives I just uploaded and delete them manually. I don't think we need duplicate items, so if I am uploading them to the cloud it's most likely because I don't want them on my phone anymore right? That feature would save me so so much time. Thank you!

Useless/not needed. My smart phone has my resume in pdf. Form and that should be it. But no, these stupid app companies are in bed together and so I have to keep downloading app after app after app just apply for jobs. Each app just another security risk, just another way for my info to end up in the wrong hands. Might as well be you know what in a box, Totally unacceptable. Zero stars is the real review. Stop making cloud based crap we already have through oh idk the 16 other apps that do a similar job. This is an edit...after reading some reviews I ask those people if they are using windows 98? Do you not remember that our smart phones and their services were already doing all of this? Did you not already have cloud based service through your smart phone brand or google? Why accept yet another app that is cloud based for yet another way to have your private photos and documents out in another cloud. “The devs are smart” yeah after building the same features into every other cloud based app they realized they needed another job so here is Dropbox, next year it will be “boxdrop” or “doccushare3000”! I’m sure there is some feature that is unique to Dropbox that has you all saying that it’s totally different. You mean something that could have just been added to any other cloud based service? I know it’s free but I didn’t want another app on my phone, another account, another, another, another, another......

Never liked Dropbox and still don’t. This app is confusing and hard to use. A friend sent me a Dropbox link of a song file, and when I clicked on it I got the option to either get the song in the browser or “download the app,” which I had already done. I clocked the latter option, and it just brought me to the App Store. When I clicked open no notice appeared about the download; it just took me to the app. As far as I can tell there’s no way to search through emails or Facebook messenger from the Dropbox app to download the link. I then went back to the link and clicked the other option, “open in browser,” which took me to a playable file but again gave me no options to download the file. I’ve always had problems with Dropbox, and the only time I use it is when someone shares something with me on it. This was one of those times, and though this was my first time using the iPhone app, I came away from it disappointed as usual.

Now Requires App Subscriptions. After years of being able to view PDFs, Spreadsheets and Documents, the app now forces one to subscribe to Adobe, Excel, etc. To what purpose? Those of us not using it for business are not trying to update anything: we’re only wanting to view documents that we generate elsewhere. Without the option of “view only,” this app has become useless and only gets one star as Apple won’t allow zero. Edit to Response to Developer’s Reply: I am able now to either open a password protected file for view-only by selecting the “go” key on the keyboard, bypassing the “open” icon for Excel, or ignoring the “go” key and selecting the “open” icon to follow the Excel pathway to edit the file. Thanks! Response to Developer’s Reply: Your reply is demonstrably false. Despite the indications in your help link, the App stopped opening Excel and PDF files that are password protected without using Excel and Adobe. There’s nothing like entering a password in response to Dropbox and then dealing with the prompt maze of those applications to finally get another password screen from them. After years of successfully entering file passwords at your prompt, this happened after *your* upgrades and before I chose to update to iOS 13.3 from 12.x. This is all on you.

Doesn’t work. I have tried hundreds of times to use this application in different capacities, and it does not, to even a slight extent, serve the purpose it’s intended for. My hatred for this stupid website and this stupid app goes beyond words. The frustration is difficult to articulate. The frustration is furthered by the fact that an app that can do what Dropbox is intended to do would be remarkably helpful. I have tried with four different email accounts. I’ve tried not using an email account at all, but even the simplest of tasks do not work on this useless pathetic excuse for a file storage site. If you don’t have an account and all you want to do is download or view a file in someone else’s Dropbox, forget about it. You’ll just be continuously harassed to pay for the service. If you do pay for the service, the same issue, constant notifications asking you to pay more or telling you your storage is full even when it’s entirely empty. You will find more joy and success doing something like jamming a screwdriver into your eye socket.

Good features, horrible customer service. I’ve used Dropbox for years with no issues, although it is overpriced and their peculiar insistence on landing you on “Recents” rather than “My Files” is annoying. However, if you must purchase Dropbox, do it on their site and not via the App Store. Here’s why: They sent me a note saying my payment method (Apple) was invalid and I had to “update” my payment method with Apple or lose my paid features on May 31st. Spoke with tech support via chat and confirmed that my payment info is up to date, and that it has successfully gone through for ApplePay, dozens of other apps, and a couple of streaming services. He escalated me to someone who days later sent me a boilerplate email that showed he hadn’t read anything from the previous conversation. I replied, explaining again. No answer. I wrote back asking for an ETA on a response, as May 31 was fast approaching. No answer. Then on May *29* — two days before the supposed deadline — I got an email saying “Your account has been downgraded.” Finally managed to resubscribe by severing my payment within Apple and purchasing on their site (although now I wish I hadn’t). And *still* no response from customer service.

Great for Storage. I use Dropbox to store all my files I do not want to loose. I have photos, genealogy, health files, expenses, receipts, contracts, and so much more. Unfortunately, I find myself fighting with the program all the time. When upgrades are made, I find there is a glitch of some sort. Once I was notified I needed to backup my files. In the process of doing this, I lost them all. 3 years worth of data! There were no directions for backing up. There was no access on how to recover from old backups anywhere. These things should be clearly outlined in a manual, if there is one. The other thing I hate is that if you transfer files in or out of Dropbox, you have to do it one file at a time. You can’t transfer multiple files or a folder of files to Dropbox. Also you can no longer get to things like print or move a file to editing program (Word) without first clicking on “share” to find those options. Why the need to double click for these options? Other options are available with a single click but I don’t use those things. Ok, I have more but will stop now. I do like the program and still use it. Not so much on my phone due to the above complaints. Just wanted to let others know what life is like using the program.

The DropBox Folks are Good People. The city I live in received a direct hit from Hurricane(s) Laura and Delta back-to-back in Aug. 2020. Laura was a Category 4 with sustained winds of 175mph. Delta dropped 17 inches of rain in 4 hours. The damage to my home and the City was extensive. I was shocked and devasted by the damage because I had just retired as the result of a complex hip fracture. I was on crutches and dealing with severe pain. I had subscribed to the Dropbox Premium version a few months before the storms. After the storm I was unable to afford the monthly fees because the debris cleanup and living expenses in the aftermath of the storm were stretching my wallet to the extreme. I called DROPBOX Support and explained my situation and indicated I needed to end the subscription. The SUPPORT TEAM was very nice and supportive. They downgraded me to the free version. I remember that experience with gratitude. And I thank the Dropbox folks for their help. The app. is great. I love how it integrates with my other apps for all kinds of content. It is very useful for creators like myself.

Plz add ‘select all’ option to folders!!!. Great app works wonderfully for what it is. I’ve had the paid service for years and have used it a ton for work and personal stuff. Great cloud storage, accessible from everywhere. I have been trying to use it to transfer photos between phone and computer and the lack of a ‘select all’ or ‘select inverse’ option has slowed this to a crawl. Even a ‘Export all files in folder’ or something would speed up my interactions with app x50. Would be a simple feature to add that would make transferring files so much pass hassle!!! Please help devs! Love this app, but without this feature I am going to have to migrate to another service. Great work in general, love the app and don’t want to leave.

“User information is not valid“. I can login on my PC with the browser, but when I try to login on my iPhone I get the aforementioned error message. Yes, after 10 times trying, the user/password information is exactly correct.I don’t have two step verification so that shouldn’t be screwing me up. I have deleted and reinstalled the app four times now, and that hasn’t changed anything. I read online somebody had success after deleting their safari history and cookies, which I did, with no success.I have not changed my phone number, nor do I have multiple accounts. I get an additional error message when I try a single sign in attempt, with it returning, single sign in is not activated for this account. I have now tried for three hours to search the web as well as the dropbox support section, and there is no answer I have found that has solved this problem. An app that doesn’t work on one’s phone, for a program that does work on a PC browser, using the exact same login information, is non-functional, and a non-functional app gets a one star.

Great App but very unstable after update. I’m having the same issue as Dudebraj9000. I have an iPhone 8 and have been using Dropbox for years. I agree that the updates have had no added value other than adding additional steps. When I’m uploading photos, I can no longer scroll down to see which photos are uploading. It jumps back to the top. Also, when I go to a photo album from Dropbox to upload photos, it will jump to photos from 2017 or 2018 unless I scroll real slow. Also, if I “move” photos from one folder to another, it now leaves me at the folder the photos got moved to instead of the folder I was working on... really annoying. I believe that if I “copy” photos from one folder to another, it will put me back to the folder I was working on, which is the way it has always been. Lastly, I had disconnected any auto uploads or syncing to Dropbox from the start, yet there is an album again called Dropbox with photos sitting in it... some very old photos. So I don’t know if those photos were uploaded or not. I have never auto synced my photos with Dropbox because I like having control of it. I gave you 5 stars because I use Dropbox every day and I trust that you will fix these issues. Overall, it has been fantastic, but more so in the older versions.

Duplicate scans, no multiple photo upload. When scanning documents using the mobile app, I frequently get duplicate pdfs added. There will be the original one it scanned, and then a second one with “ (1)” appended to its filename. Some times there will even be a third one with “ (2)”. This has been going on for at least a 1 year. Terrible quality control and crappy app. To add insult to injury, there is no way to upload more than one photo at a time through the iPhone’s photo library. If you select multiple photos, there is no option to upload to Dropbox. These are super basic things and it seems like the Dropbox team has abandoned its app. Add on to that the drama with their company saying they will not support M1 macs, only to do an aboutface after being publicly humiliated. I have been paying for Dropbox for more than a decade, but now i’m looking for a way to start transitioning to a a service that cares more about its customers. Real pity for what used to be a promising and user-centric company

Great except keeps losing recent files. 99% of the time when I used this app, it is to do something with one of the three or four files I have most recently edited. For some reason this app keeps losing track of those, which makes it take much longer to use. Last time it was because they forced dropbox paper towns artificially find a recent list, this time the paper staff is back again and all my recent files have disappeared. There is no option to remove the paper spam from the recent list. For bonus points they say it’s easy to contact them if you have problems about the app. It isn’t. When I finally found a way, their support page doesn’t work; it won’t let me choose a device and therefore won’t let submit a ticket. This is of course on my iPhone, the same device the app is running on, using safari, the default and dominant browser. Ridiculous.

Support. Don’t have the business Dropbox I have the lower one I don’t need a business one because I’m a single person that does not work but unfortunately there’s no support for anybody that pays $118 a year instead of the $200 a year of having a terrible time I accidentally canceled my subscription and I’m trying to re-activate it and pay and there’s absolutely no way to get a hold of anybody in the business account people will talk to you but they won’t help you because I’m not business you should have support for us as well we’re not that penny-ante that you can help us. Your response to me was do I want to change my review the answer is no and you’re not getting it I never had a business account with you ever only the personal account can you send me the splitting things to get help by upgrading it’s all about the money with you people instead of actual business in the care of the actual person insane every year I’ve been with you for over 45 years I’m done hopefully my pictures will be safe

Working great, one irksome “feature”. I don’t understand all the problems people describe. My experience with Dropbox has been great, with it being very reliable. In one respect it’s even better than iCloud for saving a PDF opened from a website. I can save it directly to Dropbox, but I cannot save it directly to an iCloud folder. Nice. The one annoying feature is with setting up a new account on a computer and Dropbox assuming that the user wants to have files saved solely in the cloud. That default setting isn’t immediately obvious and caused me and others to being unable to access files while traveling. Moreover, figuring out how to turn that setting off was not obvious and difficult to find. Easy to change once found, but it required some digging. The user’s preference for local verses cloud storage should be the first thing asked during a set up, and a description of how to change it should be provided right there during set up.

All files lost and not given a refund. Edit: The company’s response is unacceptable to me, neither taking accountability for their lack of communication or defrauding me out of my money. I will never be using or recommending their services to anyone and with these business practices I am sure they will go out of business sooner rather than later! I found charges on a credit card statement that I thought had been cancelled going back two years with a monthly subscription to Dropbox. Because the account was linked to an old email address that I could not recover, I lost about a thousand photos of my family and travels. When I contacted Dropbox the agent I communicated with refused to speak with me on the phone, could not recover my photos, would not refund me the monthly subscription that I had been paying for this “service” unless I gave them my credit card number over email, AND would not let me speak to anyone else. If I could give zero stars I absolutely would, this is a horrible company. Google Drive is superior in every single way and I have never had a single issue with them!!

Needs bugs worked out. Hello, I depend on Dropbox for my personal and Business data back up and I have an iPhone 11 with all of the latest iOS and software, however the dropbox app from the AppStore will not upload my photos! Even when I’m on a Wi-Fi connection at 50+ Mbps upload speeds, it is not enough for me to get my photos and videos uploaded which is a bug in the app surely. If I literally watch it upload, it is so slow that it takes minutes for a simple photo to upload and if I walk away from my phone (even with the screen on) it just stops uploading and is on the same file/photo when I come back to it, sometimes up to an hour later. It’s like when my phone is sitting still it won’t upload photos, which I’m sure is some sort of a bug with this app that is tied to some sort of sensor on my iphone. Something that needs to be investigated and resolved because given that I have the dropbox business enterprise premium plan I should be able to upload photos or someone should respond to my support tickets and help me resolve this issue which I have recorded exactly as I’ve stated on video. And I've never had a reply for support beyond an initial email.

I really wanted to like Dropbox. This is a review on Dropbox in general. I wanted to use Dropbox to back up files I accumulate on both my phone and my computer over time onto a cloud. This includes work files (minimal though) and (mostly) personal photos/videos. But I have so many issues syncing files whether it be from my phone or my computer, I just can’t do it anymore; it takes way too much time. And I’ve had the paid version for a couple months now! I thought maybe Dropbox just had a learning curve but the issues are perennial. I constantly have to troubleshoot the syncing and google solutions for things like clearing the cache on my Mac. It’s like I have to treat Dropbox like a baby, only back up 50 photos at a time or it glitches and never uploads at all. Even troubleshooting pages from the Dropbox website don’t solve my problems, even if it’s only 4 simple steps. I don’t understand—I thought DropBox was a large and reputable company used by professionals. I’m using Dropbox for mostly light, personal reasons and it doesn’t work properly. Looks like I’m going to have to back up the old fashioned way: external hard drives.

“Free” trial. Someone sent me photos via Dropbox and I thought I had to have Dropbox to access or use the photos. So I downloaded the app and chose the free 30 day trial but couldn’t figure anything out so I “upgraded” I truly despise “free” 30 day trials that require your credit card information to begin and that should have given me pause before I went ahead and entered it, but these were pictures from my grandsons 1st birthday party. Now that I am trying to cancel the “free” subscription so I’m not charged at the end of the thirty days, it’s not such an easy process as to click a button. Tech savvy I’m not and navigating and trying to use Dropbox was/is not simple for me and canceling definitely is not! This is a great reminder to me to NEVER get a free 30 day trial of something that isn’t truly free. Still haven’t managed to use the app in any useful way that makes sense or is easy for a non tech person. I’m sure it’s wonderful for some folks I just don’t happen to be one and won’t recommend it to others.

Annoyed.. I’ve loved this app for years. I have all my photos from highschool saved to this app. AT&T actually were the ones who told me to download this app to have them saved in another place just in case. Well it’s still connected through my Timehop app so I know I’m using the right email, every time I try to rest the password it will not send me the email. Well I did what the support on the website said to do add no-replydropbox to my contacts. And still no email. I’ve been working on accessing these photos for weeks now. The have no way of being contacted & will not help with a chat bot till your signed in. So I’m assuming all my stuff is just forever lost and I’m heartbroken. I have deleted the app re downloaded it. Updated it. Tried from safari. It won’t even let me try to rest it anymore because it said too many attempts. But I’ve not received the first email yet. I would love to be reached out to on how to fix this. & then my rating will be deleted.

Text editor is bad. I’ve been using the Dropbox text editor for years. It seems after the last few updates the text editor is very buggy. 1) I when I save, it says I have a new version. So I have to reload the file. 2) When I select edit, sometimes the file opens with the cursor at the top, sometimes the file opens with the cursor at the bottom, sometimes the cursor jumps around randomly. The point is, when I click edit, I want to edit where my cursor is. When the file jumps around, I lose my context, and have to scroll up and down to find what I wanted to edit. 3) sometimes I type and nothing appears. I can actually see the cursor in another part of the text, I can type letters, but nothing shows up. At this point, I have to close the editor and open it again to clear it up. 4) sometimes I try to select text, the selection doesn’t align over the actual text. It seems to be out of sync with the position of the text. 5) sometimes when I select text the selection jumps to the right side of the screen even if there’s no text there. It won’t allow me to adjust the selection. Clearly, no one at dropbox actually uses to text editor or they would run into the same problems. Also, they must not have test cases. To run through every time they make changes. This is simple regression testing. please pass this on to someone in charge a Dropbox. Thanks

Trustworthy. Reliable. And Dependable Cloud Storage.. I’ve subscribed to Dropbox Plus for a few years now even though I pay monthly and not annually, I will always depend on Dropbox to back my files up. Out of the 2T storage I’ve only used up 8.7% of it or 178 gigs of memories, data, and everything that’s important to me will all get backed up onto here and no where else. I even got iCloud service for iOS but I still prefer Dropbox as my main cloud storage. It’s all I need. Thanks for creating this app and keeping the updates going. I will forever be here and am not going anywhere else. Grateful bc I wouldn’t know where I’d save my files without Dropbox Plus. Plus is definitely a must even though the basic version is okay but get the Plus version you won’t regret it. Even if you stopped paying and get downgraded to basic, your files will remain but you’ll have limited options and access to your files so I choose monthly cause I can go few months without backing up then I’ll make a payment and my files are safe again. I recommend if you want reliability. Giving a 6 stars if possible! Keep up the great work!

Tell me one, do another. Edit: Oh my gosh they actually updated the app update description! End. I go into the app to make sure my photos are updating All good, but says I have an update and I need to update the app 🤔click a button that takes me to the App Store I go to the App Store and it says that it's updated and it has a button to open the app which takes be back, recursion loop. on top of that background updating has also stopped working so my phone has had to stay on for a week without going to sleep or the screen going off for it to finish uploading a rather large video it also seems like it took really long granted part of that's the "high speed" Internet. of course it doesn't help that apple's new update that was just shipped refuses to install even though it's already downloaded so I need to get everything synced so I can back up and do it on the computer. Yes my perfectly good phone got ridiculously slow "after I got notified"!!!! and the notification crashes and settings, update crashs. Oh and if there was an DB update it wouldn't tell me what was updated because that would be under NDA.

Review purely based on customer service. I got the free trial since this was the only way I could get my engagement photoshoot pictures, so I didn’t use the app besides purely for this purpose - hence I’m not rating the functionality of the app. That said, I specifically checked the box to go to monthly subscription after trial, just in case I’d forget to cancel, which I did, however I was charged for the annual subscription instead. I tried to contact the customer service, but there is no phone number you can call except for business plan subscribers. I sent customer service an email, but received no reply. Between the wedding, med school and moving to a new city this issue fell through the cracks and I was reminded of it as I was again charged for the annual subscription (yes, my fault for not staying on top of it, but had customer service got back to me this wouldn’t be an issue). So basically if you foresee any need for customer service with your subscription, DropBox isn’t for you.

Too much money for notta lotta “service”. After the recent update, DropBox stopped working properly for camera-roll upload on my iPad. Their solution? Remove the app, forget the network, fully restart the iPad, re-connect to the network, and re-install the app. Seriously? Good thing I have nothing else to do ... oh, wait. Basement flooded. So yeah, I have something else to do that's rather urgent. Good news is that yes, this did in fact resolve the issue, but really, I have other things to do in my life than reset apps with updates that fail. Especially when paying $75/month for the business version. For $75 a month I expect a MUCH better UI, amazing support, in-file search (not just the file titles), and so much more. Instead, we get the un/re-install merry-go-round, an ok UI, low-availability support (US normal business hours only), and an amazingly klugey sync setup. Heaven help you if your Mac has an external drive. What happens when you get a new Mac? It downloads everything from Dropbox again, even though all I did was remove the USB plug from the old machine to the new. Good job, Dropbox. Well done. Now I gotta wait for 4T of data to re-synch. Their super awesome support response? Well, we told you external drives might not work as expected. I’m totally looking for another service. Seriously, $900 a year for this? I feel like an idiot for locking myself into this “service”.

So much potential, very buggy. I’ve been using this app daily for work, for over a year now. Every single time I create a folder and select upload photos, I will be scrolling on my camera roll and it if I’m not actively clicking photos right off the bat, it freezes and jumps to the start of my camera roll (I have 20k photos in my camera roll, going back to 2017). The only way to avoid this is by clicking upload photos, and immediately start rapidly tapping random photos until it unfreezes. I have always updated the app, and it’s done this on more than one iPhone. Still happening on my 12 Pro. 2nd issue that just started happening: I name every folder by date. Suddenly almost all my folders are out of order. They randomly just start not being organized by date as I scroll down. I make sure to select “sort by date modified” and it does nothing. No matter what I sort by, nothing changes in the order. It’s becoming very frustrating as I rely on this app for work. I’m confused by all the positive reviews because my experience has been this for several months now.

It deleted my entire Desktop. After a recent computer crash I had I was attempting to put things back to normal and reinstalled Dropbox. After it installed and logged in it was already full but attempted to copy and sync my entire desktop. This didn’t happen before when I first installed it and it began lagging my entire computer. So I tried deleting the folder but it took my entire desktop from my computer and multiple files ranging from personal and work. Trying to recover failed because there file box it was trying to sync was only a partial download and only had file folder names and none of the content. I’m not gonna pay for an app that will try to take on more than it can handle on the free plan. I’ve only used this app to make it easier to share files between computer to phone not entire programs from the desktop nor did I ask it to sync. I might have screwed by a simple update for the sync computer but I never had an option for how to sync it and I usually have to initiate it but this was unexpected and stacked up on current problems.

Not user friendly with no support. I thought this would a better option than iCloud as that’s just as bad and having to download files twice or trice basically makes using these two irrelevant and pointless. The same issue I faced with accessing documents easily and across the board (multiple devices) through iCloud both on and off is the same with Dropbox. I guess you can’t believe everything you read by the companies themselves. I want easy access, able to edit and use, present and share, with no need to depend or worrying about downloading files over and over and opening other apps e.g. Microsoft Word/ppt, etc and connectivity made easy IS DEFINITELY NOT Dropbox. It took me only a day to realize that this is not the app or program that is useful at all. After spending 5 hours today playing and trying to figure out it’s usability across devices became fruitless and wasted time. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS APP! I will now try OneDrive or a recommended GoogleDrive by colleagues who also need it for the same purpose and needed feasibility/accessibility. Now I will start deleting everything I spend hours uploading thinking it would work 🤦🏽‍♂️😒😤

Scary! Shared link - My recipient has access to my Dropbox account. Hi. I have been using Dropbox for many years now. And it’s in my top three apps of about 200 apps in my iPhone. I will still “after this incident” give 5*. But something SCARY happened to me today. It goes like this..... Today I sent five links to one of my clients. I sent the links via outlook app on iphone 11 pro. After few hours my client called me back and said "I can see ALL your folders in your DropBox Account". I went to my account shared tab, so I may delete those links. Suprisingly those links are not in the shared link list. Then I went to the security tab in settings and I changed my password. Then I logged out from dropbox in my phone, and sent an email with shared links to myself. When I click the links I received, they automatically open my dropbox, though I'm signed out. To confirm that I launched my dropbox app but it asks me to login. Finally. I took down ALL my files and transferred them to my iCloudrive . My Dropbox account is empty now! Anyway. I think this is a big security issue. For now, can some one help me to expire the liniks which I sent to my client. Or is there a way to recall an email that I sent fifteen hours ago. outlook app for iphone. please help. thanks

Great app except.... Overall this is a great app. It allows you to categorize your files just like on a computer with folders and sub-folders, etc. It is relatively easy to move files around from your ipad or phone, send them to another app to markup, and upload. The main problem I have with this app is the buttons at the bottom of the page when you are viewing a document. They have recently added a big blue button right in the middle at the bottom that says OPEN. The grid and magnifying glass buttons to the left of that were bad enough but now I have to try and read around the big OPEN button as well. I use Dropbox a lot for quizzing myself and I’ll save questions/answers and scroll through them, answering them in my head as I go. The buttons get in the way of reading my questions because scrolling too much will show me the answer. These buttons need to be added into the top banner or lower banner and not on their own. It would make this a 5 star app for me!

Wants your money. I had the free account. Deleted everything and removed shared folders. Kept getting notices it was full and to upgrade to paid storage. No matter what I deleted or removed it would not stop nagging. It claimed the shared folders, which I had removed from my box were still there taking up space! Not using it for backup either. Finally forced to delete entire app and clear the Dropbox app cache on my Mac computer. These people are money grabbers and refuse to respect your wish to get rid of old things so you have space for new. Don't get caught in their web. They do not have live support. If you keep Dropbox tell people NOT TO SHARE TO IT. Tell them to set theirs to send you a link to theirs so you can download to your computer directly from their Dropbox, thereby avoiding filling your own box with what they shared. Really inconsiderate app just out for every dime they can squeeze out of you.

Five stars for completely disappointing me!!. I’ve had this app for a while now. They promise to keep all your pictures safe “NO MATTER WHAT” which is all a lie! Let’s say u lose access to the account for a bit so you are inactive with it. Well without them even asking for your permission, they decide to erase your account and all the pictures you saved with it!! I completely believed them like an idiot and deleted my pictures and gave it to them so they can “KEEP IT SAFE” and without even consulting me or thinking about the fact that I have important pictures and things I actually wanted them to keep safe, they just erase and pretend like nothing ever happened. I completely do not recommend this app!! PLEASE DO NOT DOWNLOAD IT!!! GET EVERALBUM OR EVEN GOOGLE PICTURES BUT DO NOT USE THIS!!!

Slow to upload. I’ve used this app in the past and it was ok. I needed more storage recently and downloaded it again. 1900 + pics and here I am a week later still waiting for more than 90% to upload so I can remove the files from my phone. Pics only upload when the app is open on your phone. Yup you have to stare at 2000 + to upload to their server. If your anything like me and normal, not doing anything else while waiting to upload is extremely hard to do. I use my phone for business and I could be looking at the files being uploaded only to get an email I have to respond to and then 2 hours later go to check drop box and only one file was uploaded. If the app is launched why do I have to stare at files being uploaded? Makes no sense. I should be able to do other things on my device while things are being uploaded.

Could be MUCH better. I have close to 100 photos I shared with myself - I run a photography Instagram & like to edit the photos, watermark & upload them via my phone - I sent them to myself after uploading them from my camera to laptop, and now I have to click each one in the folder individually to “export” them to my phone. Surely there’s a better/quicker way where I can select either all in the folder, or just the folder from my files & “export all” to my phone? It’s so incredibly time consuming, but it’s the only way I can do things. I have some very powerful editing apps on my phone, and nothing on my laptop (it’s a work laptop anyway!) so there is no way I can do all the work via my laptop.

The worst app I have ever used. This app is an absolute joke. It constantly crashes, takes such a long time to upload photos or even to make one folder. It’s not user friendly. But the main thing is it that it can take me an hour just to make a folder and then upload 20 photos because it crashes at least 10 times in the process. Considering drop box is used so much by businesses I’m sure you can create an app that can function efficiently.

Why?. Thanks for removing ‘Sort by Date’ in files. Great move! Now I can’t see what I’ve recently uploaded, without scrolling back through hundreds of pics! Also cannot move separate pics between folders anymore. It always reverts to the folder you’re sending from or gives you a limit of 5 other folders to choose from. The folder you want cannot be found. BTW: when are you going to fix Dropbox’s inability to select ALL pics/screenshots from the camera roll? Most times, the last pic or screenshot on my camera roll is either missing, or shoved hundreds of places farther back in the camera roll!!!!!!!!!!! My god this is a frustrating app to use now. I truly hate it. Gonna have to look at other options now.

Hard to delete account. Only got this app to download photos from an event I went to and once saved I could not find where to delete my account. Searched it up in their help desk and their instructions do not match to how the app is programmed. I ended up going to contact support and that is where I found my ‘profile icon’ and scrolled to the bottom to find delete account. This was not part of the original description in help desk. Once clicked delete they wanted me to come up with a password for the app to email me a link to delete. I do not want spam emails from this app and I don’t trust their links

Query. I am only a small user with the basic app. My Dropbox is not showing when I touch "send to" and I need to upload some photos for safe keeping. In my looking around I found and deleted an unknown device, someone is in here with me? Spooky.

So difficult to cancel.. I have been trying to cancel my subscription (I don’t recall signing up) and it just takes me in circles. Says I cannot cancel. To manage my subscription in App Store yet does not appear under subscription in App Store. Non responsive customer service. Doesn’t merge easily with WIX. Starring photos doesn’t mean anything. Waste of time. Many other programs that I have had ease with that I would prefer to use moving forward like google drive and one drive.

Good before they got greedy. I was one of the early adopters of Dropbox and also used their top tier payed plan. These guys eventually got greedy, doubled all of their prices and forgot about the people who made them. Anyway then I looked at Microsoft again. Wow the office 365 suite has come a long way since I first looked at it and integrates well with PC and Apple well now. For half what I had to pay Dropbox I can put my whole team on 365 with unlimited storage, plus the full office suite all included. One Drive and Onenote are awesome. I also shut my Evernote account and switched to OneNote. I work paperless on an iPad Pro + PC and everything syncs beautifully. Short answer, you don’t need this greedy company anymore. Ditch em.

Version 162.2: bug report + essential app + how to make it better. BUGS: When there are photos to be uploaded, even with the badges-notification turned on, there’s no badge-number on the icon. In the Account tab, under Camera Uploads, when switching “Upload Videos” off, there’s no change in the description underneath. Please fix. PROS: Very reliable, does what it’s supposed to without any fuss. Syncs fast across my devices. Has the option to make files available offline. Updated version now uploads the edited version of a photo, instead of only the original version. Regular updates to squash bugs and improve the experience. HOW TO MAKE IT BETTER: In Account-Settings, change “Cancel” to “Done.” Allow it to search for two words in the search bar, not just one. Provide more options for upgrades to Plus. I currently use around 8GB, so I don’t need the 1000GB option. A 100GB option would make sense. CONCLUSION: An essential app for file backup and storage. If you liked this review, please long-press it and mark it as “helpful.”

No editing on iPad - what’s the point?. Dropbox whilst good in theory makes it so difficult to access on iPad. Not via a browser and so why they created a worthless app is beyond me. My MacBook Pro is currently broken and my files are in Dropbox. I normally edit via a browser in G Docs and whilst it works in a browser on my laptop, it doesn’t work in a browser on iPad. So of course, let’s go get the app..... nope! So again, why bother creating an app when it does nothing different? Such a useless platform.

Love it!. **Update** the developing team listened to their clients and added this feature which works perfectly. Keep it up team!! 👌 Hi, I see this has been raised by another reviewer using the app for social media tasks. I also would like to bulk select and download images from the same folder. Sharing and exporting then saving to phone each time is horrific. Otherwise I love the app 🎉

Could be so much more. It’s always annoying when an employer declares that you have to use Dropbox. Sure two free gigabytes is nice I guess but the next option up from free is such a big jump and is also expensive for what it is. It will also cause permission errors and all kinds of annoying dramas depending on what type of account/subscription you have vs what your employer has. This company could have been so much more instead I just feel it fading away into the history of the internet because the usability and account issues have never gotten better making it the least usable cloud storage service I know of.

Add a hyperlink option. I use the app for storing plans and drawing for use on the run and while onsite. Would be great if there was an option to utilise hyperlinks. There are apps out there that after you've uploaded your plans, all detail, section and elevation callouts on the plans automatically activate, creating hyperlinks. These allow whoever accesses the plans to easily navigate between plans. Would be a great addition to Dropbox!!

Constantly crashing. After logging on the app insisted that I was not logged in. Then logging out to reset the app I was not able to log back in. When later I was able to login and mistyped my password the app sort of froze in a state where no matter what I typed it told me the system wasn’t available. Today trying to login again the same freeze occurred. Deleting and reinstalling the app allowed me another chance to login but when again I mistyped my long password it again froze. One last uninstall and reinstall allowed me access long enough to download my videos and cancel my subscription

Intuitive, reliable, easy. Our business has been using Dropbox across multiple devices including the Apple app, and it’s been flawless. The app in particular has a nifty display function which allows documents to be read and managed really easily, without opening each one. It also works really well with other apps including Evernote.

Best in class syncing, not enough space.. Syncs well, seamless operation between desktop, phone, iPad and the application is one I prefer...But 1TB is not whopping anymore. To get 2TB you need a business account which is horrendously expensive. I need 2TB. Other cloud providers are offering 2TB on a lifetime subscription, with an excellent app and security. So back to the free Dropbox account, which is so small to be all but useless..I’ll keep the account, one day you’ll be competitive again.

Higher prices, less options.. Used to be awesome before they introduced introduced new restrictions and jacked their prices. I can no longer use the app to sync my files across devices the way I have for 10 years, unless I pay a wildly overpriced subscription. There are many other cheaper, better integrated options. It's time to move on.

Really really needs another subscription option. Great concept but Dropbox really needs to cater for those who have lower income those who are using it because it’s the only storage files others with whom they are working will accept. $6 per month? Less GB than the current minimum option, but more than the free option. Simple idea.

Picture show everywhere. Hi. I liked dropbox from very begining since i start using. But i think there might be little more improvement. The picture which we moved from POTOS to FILES create under different names, should not be shows up in the Photos afterward. Once we moved them from Photos to Files they must be erased from there because we are moving them not just copying. Hope you will think about it.

Slow uploads, app stops uploading, horrible interface. I have the fastest 5g on the planet 200mb+ upload speed however this app still fails to upload a photo within 7 seconds. UPGRADE YOUR SERVERS!!!. Let’s not forget if you take a call or accidentally leave the app mid upload it will just freeze and you’ll have to force close, cancel and start again. It can’t be that difficult. Also make it so I can view folders from most recent to alphabetical order.

Search facilities appalling. The search facilities for Dropbox are very primitive. You can’t even search on a specific string in the title, much less within a document. Having files in storage that can’t be searched for easily is very frustrating. The user recommendations - to download the files to a PC to use the search facilities there - aren’t possible if your data store is larger than your PC’s. I use Dropbox mainly from an iPad so don’t store a searchable copy elsewhere. I am planning to change to a provider which does provide up to date search routines.

Long time user. I love Dropbox and have used it for years for all my file storing needs. I would love to see a more intuitive and user friendly app upgrade so that sorting and deleting files/pictures could be easier. I use Dropbox to upload my photos automatically from my iPhone but I can never move more than maybe 20 photos at a time into the folder that I want them to go into which means I have years to catch up on as it’s so time consuming. If I leave the app it then freezes the next time I go into it. Hoping for improvements asap as I store everything here and am trying to organise all my photos by month and year and currently it takes too long.

No longe able to upload files from iPhone 11 to Dropbox. Don’t do upgrade to latest version as it does not allow iPhone 11 Pro to recognise Dropbox to save to files. Considering I pay a premium fee for Dropbox to sync files on the go it’s a now cost me days out off the field and have to resort to manually connecting a cable to my phone, download photos to my computer and then upload to Dropbox. Now this app is just a waste of time, space and money.

Great service - needs some user friendly tweaks. I use dropbox to store important documents, photos and videos, sharing and accessing them from a multitude of devices. All I want added to this service is a select all button in an album on iPhone when uploading images, I could be uploading upwards of 150 photos from specific sites to individual folders and having to select every photo individually is both time consuming and can lead to photos being missed in the process. Additionally background uploads on iPhone would also be great but I understand that may be out of your hands

Keeps shutting down Update. The latest update seemed to break it. Keeps re-opening at the login stage. Fixed now. Had to reinstall. They made a change without telling me that the limit on syncing devices is now 3. So it wouldn’t let me in. It was clogged up supposedly synching devices I no longer even own from years ago. It would have made sense to drop off older devices. Very annoying.

Keeps getting worse over time. A great service and actively developed you would think the iOS app would get better over time? Nope. It’s prettier. But does not feel like an app made by people who enjoy spending time within a file browser. - Information density keeps getting worse at the expense of prettier. At the top of every folder: 1/3 of the screen is taken up by SHARE. Should that be the top priority? - comments on files load like a bad JavaScript web app. Randomly, comments don’t show up at all. - no ability to select all files? - no ability to refresh the view? It’s a syncing service. Shouldn’t it be assumed someone somewhere else is updating things?

3-device linked limit. I have been enjoying using dropbox in the last few years and recommending this to a lot of my family members, friends and colleagues. Though, I think the recent move of dropbox to only 3-device linked on free account has a huge impact on many people. I can no longer use dropbox on my phone, tablet, laptop and work computer. This had led me to use onedrive. Quitting dropbox is sad but the cutting off current users’ benefits has a result. P/s: I think 5-device link would be a sufficient number.

The delight of saving special documents. I have been using Dropbox for a very long time. I have even introduced other people to the joy of Dropbox. I love it when I want to send documents to other people who don’t have Dropbox but the can still open the document! I think that’s amazing. Recently I got a message from Dropbox to say that it was full. I tried paying for an update but for some reason Dropbox would not accept my new credit card which is the only one I have! ( I had to get a new credit card because my credit card was scammed!) I did write a note to Dropbox, but I didn’t get a reply! Breda

Look into this bug please 😩. This app was a little clunky but straightforward nonetheless, now it’s just impossible to use. I can’t export ANYTHING, I have to email photos to myself which literally defeats the purpose of the app. I can’t even view a single document, just an endless loading wheel. My phone is up to date, I’ve deleted the app and re-downloaded it, logged off/back in and nothing is working to alleviate the issue. Please look into this bug, I don’t mind the app otherwise (when it works!)

Don’t confused the 1 star rating as 1. It’s actually zero. I’ve been a paying Dropbox customer for over 11yrs now for their 2TB. Only until last week I found out that my account was disabled which I use very regularly. The bizzarre part is that I never got a notification or anything to tell me why it’s happened. I’ve opened a support ticket but one has got back to me. Did the same on Twitter and radio silence there also. Take your money elsewhere and spend towards much cheaper alternatives and plans like Google or OneDrive or Mega.

Amazing customer service!. I have had drop box for a few years and always found it great! Recently I had issues with my Dropbox and asked for assistance in the Dropbox community. They replied within a few hours and were extremely helpful in finding a solution to my problem! Some of the best customer service I have ever experienced!!!

Best syncing across multiple platforms. Worst sorting.. Dropbox is amazing for syncing and sharing large numbers of files and folders across multiple users and platforms. The sync is totally robust and very fast even for large files and recognizes changes in the smallest of Metadata. The only thing I hate about it is that when you upload photos it can only sort by uploaded date, not created date. This is really frustrating and annoying.

Massive storage hog. I love dropbox and use it for everything - always will! But i recently got an alert that my ipad storage was nearly full, and that dropbox was taking up 25GB+ worth of space. The fun part is that i have NO offline files saved, so that number should have been 0. I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app to fix the problem, but i’m reeeeally hoping this doesn’t become a regular issue that i have to do over and over. If you’re having a problem like this, take a look at your offline files, clear your cache within the app, and if all else fails, uninstall and reinstall to get your storage back.

Can’t cancel subscription. I got the subscription so I could download photos a photographer had taken and put in a Dropbox. Trying to cancel IS A NIGHTMARE! I signed up on a mobile device and have cancelled my subscription in my iPhone settings. I keep getting emails to update my payment method and on the Dropbox app it still says subscribed. When I try to cancel through the app they say go to the App Store. Such a joke. Don’t sign up, they make it too hard to unsubscribe. This should be criminal.

Great way to save and access all my important files anywhere. Very handy and helpful ! All my paperwork and photos are safe and accessible from almost anytime anywhere !

Lovely to see how Dropbox adapt working with my reading workflow. Since a friend introduced me by sharing a link about Dropbox for a file I need about 6 years ago, I have adapted the name and brand. Thanks for that. Seeing how it’s has grown to be involved when I started working with other devices, Dropbox kindly supported my digital storage needs on the go, now even better allowing me to keep track as proof evidence of PDF files of websites (for collaborative purposes) I read In Safari on the iPad is awesome so thank you for following me on my digital journey.

App crashes when clearing cache. Great app except app crashes every time I try to clear the cache. Doesn’t even display the dialog box asking for confirmation. Just crashes once you hit ‘Clear cache’. Uninstalled & reinstalled the app but the problem remains. Using Mac OS 13.5.1 No problems on the iPhone though - works perfectly, along with the confirmation dialog box.

Not happy. Trying to contact Dropbox to get advice on how to remove 2 step verification to no avail. Reason being I had a number text messaged to my phone to access my account but when I resigned from my job my employee wouldn’t release my number back to me so now I can’t access my Dropbox account ( with 15 years of family photos etc) Dropbox advise they cannot help me which I find staggering. Surely they must be able to quickly identify me and lift restrictions to gain access. What would happen if the telco went bust what would happen then for people to access their accounts? Be very careful people with your access to accounts Dropbox are happy to take your subscription money but are not any help when it comes to assisting their customers when in a crisis. Very very annoyed and disappointed with Dropbox to say the least.

Annoying. The notifications are endless and impair the ability to use Dropbox properly. Also, my inbox is regularly flooded with emails from DropBox about things customers (at least those within my network) do not care about. When attempting to unsubscribe, it takes you through loops and ultimately the emails still keep pouring in. We’ve all been pushing them to spam, but it should be recognised that their marketing team is working hard to repel customers. OneDrive is only slightly better. Still has its quirks but at least lets you work in peace.

💩 Bonus Storage 🤬. Funnily enough I was miffed into believing that recommendations to friends (that DID sign up new accounts), linking apps such as Facebook and/or pretty much writing a review like this would all lead to my Dropbox account being credited extra storage space 🤥 Fool me ! I whole heartedly recommend installing and making the very best use of Dropbox FOR FREE, please don’t expect the promised rewards. So now I have clarified the pitfalls .... allow me to regress and highly recommend the use of this FREE tool.

My most reliable cloud sharing. I’ve found Drop Box to be the most reliable, efficient way to share files (video, photos and large presentations) with colleagues (internal and external). I travel frequently and use a few of different cloud based sites, none work as well and as easily as drop box.

Can’t even function. I upgraded from a 7 to a XS last week. On the 7, the app worked amazingly with no problems ever. But since changing, the app freezes all the time. I will get two folders into navigating and it won’t respond until I restart and wait a few minutes. I rename a folder and all the contents of the folder disappear for several hours. It’s been infuriating. I understand that it’s a new device and it can take several weeks to optimise, but for it to freeze from basic usage is a bit absurd.

Playback is awful. App is good to upload documents and make them available on the go or at your other computers, but this is hardly revolutionary in 2018. Dropbox has pioneered that and credit to them for that. What irks me about this app is that you have no good controls to playback movies or audio files. Try skipping back a few seconds and you find yourself swiping back and forth to seek to the right spot, wasting a lot of time. That should be as common in 2018 as making files available on the go.

Hello Dropbox ! Pls read. Hello Dropbox :) I’ve been a Dropbox business user for probably 6-7 years and have been absolutely loving it. But the past 6-8 months have been very annoying as Dropbox always freezes when I exit on my phone and go back into it. It’s slow and glitchy now even after updating multiple times. Pls fix this issue ! Not sure if it’s just me or others too I’m running iPhone 13 Pro latest updates. It’s slowing my work flow down a lot and is very annoying. Cheers :)

Would benefit from a loop button on music.. Hello! I use this app to download and listen to music in the background of when I do tasks such as checking messages or creating artworks, but I noticed that it lacks a looping option for such files. I, and perhaps many others, would benefit from a loop button for music in order to not have to repetitively press replay over and over. Thank you for your time.

Needs to be able to upload on the background. This app is amazing but needs to be able to upload files on the background without having the app open and the screen unlocked, I've been trying to save 10 files from my phone to a folder for the last 3 days... it's really frustrating... specially since the screen locks automatically every 3 minutes

Persistent pestering to upgrade.. Dropbox, in this app, it's webpages and desktop apps consistently notifies me that I'm 'running out of space'. If it actually considered how fast I was filling up my Dropbox it would see that I'm at least 4 years away from running out of space. It needs to respect my workflow and leave me alone.

Search function not working. Using Dropbox for around 10Y. Since roughly a week now I’m experiencing “search function not working for many files including pdf”, on iPhone app, on iPad app and in Safari web browser too which makes it highly likely that the problem exists on Dropbox’s end. Have just made the iPad and iPhone app update today and issue persists including in the web version. Disappointed, I’m paying a prime price for Dropbox expecting a prime service!

Missing simple features acknowledged in earlier reviews. A review by ‘SparkieGal’ dated a year ago (currently Dec 2019) mentions the lack of the ability to select all the files in a folder at once for export. And how you have to manually select each file in a folder, which is really frustrating when having to export folders containing many files. “Select all” has been basic UI functionality in apps for decades and this key feature is still not there in the Dropbox iOS app TEN YEARS after its 2009 launch.

Awesome service worth paying for. I couldn’t live without my Dropbox. But on the iPad, I am still wondering why they don’t have a way to support long file names because they end up truncated and there’s no easy way to see them in their entirety. Please add support for different views please, we don’t need empty space to preview our files when we can’t see the full file names anyway!

Fairly reliable app.. Most of the time it works well, it’s been a bit glitchy recently though when I transfer large amounts of files. Small batches work perfectly and the recipients find it easy to retrieve the files.

Disappointed. We used to use this app often and recommend it to friends NOW for some financial reason they have limited us to 3 devices only. As we charge an account 2 phones 2 iPads and the Pc we are over the limit. I think that asking 15:95 a month for a service we used to get free is highway robbery so try something else.

Cash Grab. Now Limits to 3 devices. Find something else.. Well you did Apple a big favour! I have switched to (payed) iCloud. Used to love DropBox (5 stars) but now won’t let me add new devices anymore without upgrading to $160/yr. I have made tonnes of referrals. No more. Who only has 3 devices these days? Try OneDrive or GoogleDrive instead for free, or iCloud if you are a big Apple user.

Problèmes à corriger. Des fichiers ne veulent pas ce transférer dans Dropbox et le mode hors-ligne bug souvent. Dropbox prend trop d’énergie dans la batterie.

How do you download?. How do you download multiple photos from your iPhone to your Dropbox? Either I don’t know how to or there isn’t this provision. Why can’t you select multiple photos and drop them to your Dropbox?

Useless. Dropbox is useless this day and age where every company has their own data storage and transfer system. Be careful…. Huge mistake using these guys.

Err. J’arrive pas à remplir mon document

The Collection of memory Photos. Dropbox: Thank you! For Preserving my photos of my memorable days! Best Regards!

Spy ware. This app like many apps in the App Store spy’s on you . Don’t bother with it.

Problems. Keep telling me I need to install excel on my iPhone/iPad to continue to edit the sheet when I already did. Never had that problem until now, it won’t continue, nor will it open the file on excel like it used to…

overall decent. it’s gotten better with various updates. but there are still tweaks that would make it run better. and the most recent update has it stalling every time i reopen the app. EDIT: problem seems to have cleared with an update to my phone os. still kind of annoying that an os from 8 months ago would be subject to that kind of glitch.

Terrible. It synced to my ex husbands phone without my permission and we made many attempts to disable his access with no success. They also make it ridiculous to cancel an account! Just awful.

A ridiculously limited app in 2020. Goodbye, Dropbox.. I love that Dropbox is multiplatform and can be accessed from any device, however 2GB of storage free is laughably stingy in this era. What is anyone supposed to do with that in 2020? I would happily pay for more storage, but 15.99 a month is totally ludicrous! A one-time payment of 15.99 is still a bit expensive but would be 100% worth it; asking for such an amount monthly, on the other hand, is a joke. I must also mention that the Dropbox app now has a three device limit, as a result, productivity and seamless sharing takes a nosedive if you're using this app for school, work, or even as your main cloud storage (I'm sure most people, like myself, have more than three devices). I would recommend using Google Photos, Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive for anyone looking for a better, inexpensive, unlimited app that is also multiplatform. Adiós, Dropbox.

Suppose to be a trial. My credit card is charged already. I tried filing for refund on iTunes and apparently I don’t qualify. I thought trial wasn’t suppose to be charged until after?

Can’t change email. I’m trying to reset my password. The email on the account is no longer active. I can’t reset password because they send link to old email, which is no longer active. There is no way to edit your email through the app. Trying to get help through the chat or email is frustrating, seems to be impossible to do something that should be simple.

Hiring. Drop Box hires only non-whites. If you are woke, go for it, if you stand against racism, do not use it.

⚠️ They Track You. They track you across apps and the web. Do you really trust a company that does that? See the App Privacy section of their App Store page for details.

You need this. I have a bad memory and I use Facebook to keep my photos. Well few friends and family had been hacked and I was freaking out panicking what will happen if I get locked out of my account. Drop box has saved my life thank you

Confusing. I find this app confusing.... how do I delete empty files?

Just way too expensive for the most basic plan! 🥴. I really really wanted to keep this app and its features, since I have so much to store and because it has been supported by the big names for a while - but on a fixed income and with the massive inflation rates for everything all over the world... A couple of pandemics, more than a few wars {soon to become the next and worst {and last} World War... Climate change changing by the day and effects worse than we fools predicted... Famine freezing to death baking to death drowning etc etc.. I mean, I have not to starve; keep a roof over my head at least during the cold months; pay for the difference between the [true] costs of my prescriptions & the coverage I am getting as a retired person - some people have zero dollars {Gasp!} to pay to get the meds and health services people need, anything else is an atrocity... 💣- Heads up Americans: even though our health care system is way way better than the thing you call a "health care system" - it's an abomination and according to global standards, unethical immoral and killing the poor to keep the rich alive and well , whatever you call "well". Ranting a bit but it must be said and plastered everywhere it can. But I digress. For good reason.⚰️ So that is why I can't keep y'all. We will all learn soon enough how much s%# is really worth.

I'm quitting Dropbox 👎. Can't wait for the iCloud folder sharing service that's coming this fall. Dropbox used to be my favourite productivity app (by a mile). I've been a paying subscriber for 5+ years. I recommended it to so many people. But now, for some reason, you decided to transform a perfectly seamless experience into a disaster. On the Mac and the iPhone. Now your app is annoying. Now your app now gets in the way. We didn't need a file directory and a dock icon. We needed a simple and seamless solution. You already had it and now you've lost it.

Appreciated!. Consistent great service over years Especially when my files were corrupted and an earlier one had to be used!

Cannot paste/use email address. Not sure what was done, but I cannot login using my email address. At first it rejected my email (I use an alias service), then I simply couldn’t paste my email in. I tried deleting and reinstalling the app. No luck. It doesn’t recognize my password manager anymore either. Terrible update when I can’t access my account. Please fix.

Computer idiot. This is a wonderful service.

Dropbox. Just downloaded the latest version to my iPhone 14. (iPhone 13 is ok) Now it cannot be loaded. Please help!

It’s a Steal. It’s not cool to be obligate to pay if you want to use the app even if you didn’t try it they say that they give a free trial but why do you have to enter you credit card in ???

Deleted my porn 1/5 stars. Disabled my account, never found out why. Could only assume it was all that porn. R.I.P

App often freeze…. I’m paying for the app and it often freeze when i use it. Each time i need to close and restart the app. There’s no reason since i have a iPhone 13 and good wifi. Disappointing!

Have to add .pdf to EVERY SINGLE FILE or it won’t open. Idk what happened with the new update. Everything was fine and now I can’t view it on my iPad Pro. I can’t view any files on the app or online. It says I can only view them from a computer. I don’t have a computer! The bug is that you have to add the file extension name to your file name. Example, “June 2023.pdf” I never had this problem before and now I have to go and add .pdf to every single file…..

No longer works for me. Update: Problem isn’t offline Files.Problem is Dropbox no longer works with Mac OS 10.11.6 & I can’t upgrade my Mac to OS 10.12 I can access my Files. My Computer can’t connect to my Drop box Account to sync Reunion Family Tree.

To whom it may concern!. Please be advised I did not & have Never subscribed to your app. I recall seeing it on my iPad and I sent an email advising this and instructions to close the acct. IVE had a hacker on my iPad for a long time now , working apps in the background & I informed you if this at that time. At this time I’m not interested in this app.. Sorry for any inconvience. Donna Mcbride

If I could give it 0 stars I would!!. I’ve tried EVERYTHING to get rid of this app. but it won’t let me! I canceled my free trail 1 day after getting the app. Got it through the Apple App Store, cancelled through the Apple App Store. But Dropbox it trying to now charge me for the Plus account. So i went to Dropbox.com and redownloaded the app and tried to cancel it again through there, but I keep getting directed to cancel it through my apple account. But it’s already cancelled. What is going on Dropbox?? I’m BEYOND frustrated!

Best app for cloud for the last 10 years. I’m very happy with Dropbox. I registered earlyon and it is my most trusted app for docs and photos. Easy to navigate. Creating new works documents is possible and it’s communicating with Google seamlessly.

Easy. Easy to use and navigate. The only downside is the limit of storage and having to pay to get more.

Sending something is a pain. I like everything within this app. But I have one slight issue with it. Every-time someone sends me they’re video i click the link then it sends me to the page and then I click the “open in app” and it tells me to install it even though I have it installed?! So then I have to delete the app reinstall it so it can actually do it like :/

Terrible security my account got hacked !. I used google. Microsoft and never had issues Only with Dropbox a hacker changed all my files to itlock. Support didn’t do much after contacting them. The only good thing I didn’t use Dropbox as my main cloud otherwise i would be messed up. Good lesson not to use it

DropBox is charging me $15.99 for a basic account. DropBox refuses to acknowledge that I pay $15.99 for my account, and only shows me having a basic account. I was refused a refund, even though I can’t access more than 2gb on my Dropbox.

Handy App But Notifications Won’t Clear!. I use this app regularly and it’s great, but with the latest update I cannot clear the notifications and are forced to turn them off manually in my phone settings. I try to mark all messages as read and the app does nothing, they remain unread. Quite irritating. Now I never know when files are being sent to me since I had to turn off the notifications due to false positives.

Best mobile file sharing app. I use this app for sharing files for both work and personally for music. Absolutely love it! Everything syncs up so fast and no security issues 🙌🏾

Formatting Nightmare. Dropbox has been a 5-star app that has worked perfectly. But the latest version is a fail. The format of Word documents is glitched on my iPhone with its faint-looking font and indiscriminate bolding. Now I’ll have to try to find out how to dl the previous version.

Dropbox. I like Dropbox because it is easy to access my many photos, even those from 2007!

Not what it used to be.. I used to be a big fan of Dropbox. I’d recommend it to everyone. Now it just stalls constantly. I’ve got an iPhone 13 with the latest software and it locks up multiple times a day. I’m searching for an alternative now.

Bugs. Still the app is full of bugs and glitches

App freezes. App freezes and will NOT load images, export, or even view the images with out the loading image. The only way to obtain images is to log in the old school way and through a web browser

Way too expensive. I am options out after the latest price increase. Using cloud instead

Nice. Nice app

Major Glitch!. Up until yesterday.. I have used Dropbox for work everyday all day long! And I love it. Easy to use.. never any issues. But now it won’t upload any of my files. It says it’s full , but also tells me I have only used 25% of my available space! So now you want me to pay for more space that I don’t even need? Not happy !!!

Missing feature. What happened to the very helpful and efficient option to upload all photos taken during a time period? I used to be able to click once to upload all of today’s photos. Now I have to click click click click click click etc.

Fix it!!!. I’m convinced these people never used this app before.. or they don’t even have internet.. maybe they make it unnavigable on purpose to give people headaches… I don’t know.. I’v been using this for like 10 years and it’s still asking me to sign up.. you’d think they’d have it figured out by now.. they don’t.

Not saving changes. Repeated instances of Dropbox failing to save information

Lame. They make you register an account and if someone sends YOU a file is over 7 gigs they make you pay monthly 16 bucks… that is very lame

Horrible. Useless app. Not user friendly. I spent an hour just trying to figure out how to open a file, seriously an hour, and could not get past “download Dropbox paper”. Never succeeded in opening one file, much less sharing files between devices. Googled help for this app and was told to click buttons that did not exist (but clearly should exist!). You would think an app that is supposed to help you manage documents would at least have a straightforward way to open a file. That’s the most basic thing most users would want to do and after one hour a person of at least average intelligence can’t do it. I typed the name of my document in the search bar and it told me it wasn’t found. Double checked for typos, again it wasn’t found. Tried with just one word which I knew to be contained in many of my document files... still “not found”. Ridiculous and frustrating.

Currently not usable with iOS 14. I really love dropbox, but recently since ios13, the app is completely unresponsive while using dropbox connected to the “files” utility app on iPad or iPhone. When using dropbox through files- Dropbox will constantly crash/ desync folders. Also I try to batch import images into dropbox this way and it just constantly crashes or stops uploading images to the internet. In many cases if I have to try at least 5 times to get all my files moved into the right folder. It’s extremely time consuming and really makes me feel like using a more reliable cloud storage like google drive or iCloud Drive. Both iCloud Drive and google drive do NOT have these same issues. It’s only dropbox. Please fix your app and make sure it’s working properly with the new iOS! I’ll change my review!

App works great - Dropbox not so much. I’ve been using Dropbox for over 6 years on a paid/upgraded subscription. In the last 3 months Dropbox has twice suspended my account for 24 hours without warning. In fact they don’t even give a specific reason why. Their chat rep sent me a link on “possible” reasons. None of which I felt were violated. Here’s 3 reasons why Dropbox is losing my business: 1 - unable to specifically tell me why my account was banned 2 - Dropbox will suspend your account if someone else shares your link with too many other people. Wait - what? That is completely out of my control. Why wouldn’t Dropbox just disable the link that is causing the issue? Instead they shutdown my entire account with no specific reason why? Horrible policy. 3 - Customer service takes hours or days to respond. During my first issue their communications were so slow that the 24 hour ban lifted itself resulting in me just giving up on a resolution. And as I write this I’m now waiting over 2 hours for a response. Meanwhile my customers are calling asking for their files. Vague - Bad Policy - Bad customer service. I’m hoping that by writing a public review will inspire some change at HQ. Because one knows you can’t get through to customer service. Sincerely Former customer

Lost Images. Began to use original app 10y ago as an alt storage device, the yr I lost my mom and then my brother. Initially was simple and straightforward to use. My nephew at the time on biz in Europe for Yahoo! introduced me to Dropbox. He told me to set up Dropbox, and shared a file with a slew of images of his dad in prep for his funeral. It was amazing, later upgrading for increased storage. Regardless of rising fees and additional costs for retaining images, some of them were priceless to me snd worth it. But then I started to discover many of my most precious images and memories have been disappearing from Dropbox each year! Know I cannot do anything about it now and do not want my anger to affect me, but I have begun to plan life without this once trustworthy, now monstrous, app. In prep, bought a second 5T external disc to set up when I order my new MacBook. Dropbox, I am heartbroken and disgusted with myself for trusting you this past decade.

Download in Background. Overall the Dropbox app is okay, one of its biggest flaws is IT DOESNT ACTUALLY DOWNLOAD VIDEOS IN THE BACKGROUND!! If I start downloading a video to Dropbox and then leave and go to another app on my phone or just leave the Dropbox app at all the download stops and picks back up where I left off only once I’ve opened the app again. Even if you leave the Dropbox app open and stay in it then lock your phone, the download still stops and then proceeds when you unlock your phone. PLEASE FIX THIS, while browsing other apps or having my phone locked my downloads should always continue in progress until they are completed. This is one of the dropboxs biggest cons and a main reason I don’t like using the app

Music Player?. I’ve been using Dropbox for years. It’s great. One thing I’ve always wanted to have though was a music player that would play consecutive songs or playlists/folders. I have many original music projects going on at any given time and I like to be able to listen to them for further writing inspirations whenever I have a free minute, which is usually when I’m riding my bike from one place to another. I end up having to look down at my phone while I’m riding in order to start the next song and it can get kinda dicey while riding a bike. I have no other issues with the app besides not being able to listen to my music files consecutively. That would make it perfect, for me anyway. Thanks, keep up the good work!

It’s improving but needs basic improvements first. They’ve been improving the app for months now, and while I appreciate the improvements they still have some basics they need to work on. For instance, sending a larger file - like an iPhone video - directly to Dropbox almost always fails or takes way too long. Also, Dropbox will not upload my camera roll unless I have the app open and not just on the background (like the settings claim) I have to literally have the app open for it to upload my camera roll. That’s annoying. If your phone locks while it’s uploading, it stops uploading. These are basic issues that should be fixed before working on opening word docs within the app.

Unnecessary changes. Sometimes simpler is better. WHYWHYWHY does everyone try to turn their apps into a social media platform? Why. I’ve tolerated the various updates and additions because Dropbox has done one thing extremely well: transfer files and sync them to my Mac desktop. In that one function Dropbox has an unparalleled lead. But Dropbox PAPER? No, we use google docs for that and always will. Sorry. Comments? Not needed, rarely used. Sharing? YESYESYES that’s what it’s for. Sharing files. Photo sync, sure why not? I don’t use it but good to have. I’ve watched many developers “upgrade” their apps right out of business, making them cumbersome and glitchy in the process. PLEASE STOP you have such a robust platform already! We don’t need the toys, it just makes the app messy and childish. It’s hard enough to keep things synced and shared over a variety of different uses. I’ve been using Dropbox for maybe 10 years and run a whole business with it. Has always worked properly and stood the test of time. Your desire to compete in areas where you aren’t needed is going to downgrade what you are #1 in—transferring and sharing files easily and without confusion.

Need Office 365 subscription?. I have been using free office apps on mobile devices and a 2011 personal/home license on an iMac. Now a message pops up saying I need an Office 365 subscription to edit Excel spreadsheets and Word docs on my iPhone. Is this an error? Or have Microsoft’s or your policies changed? ————————— Thank you 🙏 for your response. I do not have a device with a screen 📺 over 10 in. Just an IPhone and iPad mini. The prompt says sign in with an office 365 account in order to be able to edit, but it turns out you can just sign in w/your regular old Microsoft/Outlook account. This is very sneaky of Microsoft. I was almost about to purchase a subscription!

One star and deleted for poor assistance…DEVELOPERS NEED TO PAY CLOSE ATTENTION. I have been using Dropbox for a long time but that has all changed. One star or less for poor assistance and poor customer care. I have wrote to the developers and tried getting help from their support team but nothing ever happened. My Dropbox is gone and I am unable to log back in to it because they won’t give me my old email address so I can make another Dropbox password. I tried some of the email addresses that I had in the past but instead they created another Dropbox for me. My last Dropbox had pictures of my family, friends, and people that has died that I can’t get back. Thank you Dropbox Developers for your lack of consideration and poor customer care. Thank God I cancelled my subscription to the two TB deal. That is money saved and memories lost.

🚫 Not upgrading. After looking down the long list of seriously bad recent reviews, I’m NOT doing the latest upgrade (operating under the theory “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”). What I’m using now, while far from perfect, is adequate; I don’t have to wrestle constantly with the software, and I know what workarounds I need to employ to get ‘er done, so…its not a perfect world, but no new surprises. I already knew their customer support was nonexistent; I have a “story” of my own. I hope someone sues them for false advertising (for claiming they have customer support). I’d say it’s possible to win that in a court of law: if someone pays for a product and substantially relies on the written description of something (“we have customer service available to serve you,” or whatever is written), there’s a case to be made if the person or business incurred a provable loss due to that reliance. Hmmm… 🤔 Dropbox appears to have gone the way of so many apps - it’s all about the Benjamin’s (as opposed to quality, reliable customer support). But, of course, the less peeps employed, the better the bottom line looks. I noticed, however, that their marketing department must be working overtime. How a 4.7 star rating is possible with as many really bad (recent) reviews is absolutely beyond me. Of course, no one would ever skew the review numbers to make an app look more attractive, would they? 🙄

Privacy and Security Issues. I used the photo backup option with a Dropbox Professional account. I contacted support and asked if it backs up photos in the hidden album on iOS and Dropbox support assured me it would not back them up. They even escalated the question with a manager and the IT department to be sure. A few months later and it started uploading my hidden photos. I reached out to support and after a week of troubleshooting, and very infrequent replies (they take about 3 days per reply even when I paid for the professional plan) there’s no resolution or even any idea of why this happened. Other features work reasonably well, but the lack of support after paying $200 a year is frustrating. This app has had privacy scandals in the past, and I wouldn’t recommend this app unless customer support improves or they offer end-to-end encryption of files.

Dropbox Business - Zero technical support :(. I have used Dropbox for many years and it’s essential to my workflow I recently encountered a synching problem which prevented me synching my files. This is a huge deal for me. On the advice of the Dropbox team I upgraded to the Business Option. I was promised advanced tech support. I will spare you the long details but simply put I have been totally abandoned, phone support simply get you off the phone as fast as possible, chat app is either not operational or refers you to email... Emailing the support team as I have done thirty or so times simply generates yet another ticket number. I have waited 6 days for the advanced technical team to get back to me... Nothing ;( When the Business team were selling me the upgrade I had staff members all over me ... when I needed Dropbox Support... .. I just very polite empty standard promise email and now not even a reply to any of my polite emails Dropbox is great til it goes wrong ... then it’s a disaster and you are stuck

I feel harassed. I was required to use Dropbox by some vendors and I can not afford another $10-20 suction on my account every month that all these apps are going to. I know you have costs but I don’t use this app and when I tried to delete files or save them to my computer to lower the storage there is a constant upgrade message and nothing easily accessible about allowing me to offload the files and go back to a smaller storage allowance. I really never use this app until required to to complete loan or legal documents. Please stop making customers feel harassed and harangued into upgrading something they really don’t use that often. Sincerely hope you think about that.

Convenient storage, sharing, and security. I’ve had access to computers for over fifty years, and I’ve seen storage technology change dramatically over those decades. I’ve also used just about all of it since floppy disks and hard drives. But none of it ever topped what I have now with five terabytes of online Drop Box storage. It’s so much more useful and pleasant than any of that previous junk I bought, connected, replaced, etc. But nothing can make up for all the time and data I lost when that junk unexpectedly failed. There’s no going back now, but that’s OK, isn’t it!

Crashing every time I open the app. I love Dropbox. I live on Dropbox. My whole business is on Dropbox. I’ve never had a lost file in 10 years or more. However, lately my love for Dropbox has waned a bit. The iPadOS and iOS apps crash literally every time I open them. Not, like, once a day. Not every once in a while. Every time I open it, I have to go to multitasking and close the app, then reopen it, and then I have a window of about 3 minutes or a couple of screen changes before it crashes again. It’s very frustrating. I need Dropbox to work, and for 10+ years it has. Please fix this bug. I want to continue my unbridled love affair with Dropbox.

Doesn’t consistently allow attachments. I send a lot of emails that require PDF attachments. I usually do this on my phone. Many times, if I’m on Safari or my email app, I need to attach a PDF from Dropbox but when I go to do that, the Dropbox file is completely empty. Other times, if the file is available, it simply won’t load after I attempt to attach it. This is frustrating because it happens all the time and then I have to export the Dropbox PDF to Acrobat in order to attach it to my email or whatever website I’m using. This wasn’t an issue up until a year or so ago. I love Dropbox for the scan feature and ease of sharing but it has consistently dropped the ball on allowing me to upload a PDF from Dropbox to any other platform.

Uploading files from phone takes FOREVER. Dropbox has always been an amazing platform for sharing high resolution files and multiple files in a single instance but as of recent uploading from my phone has been painstakingly slow for no reason and in some instances the files never upload. I’ve tried multiple different Wi-Fi connections and my 5g cellular connection and files just don’t move or take literal hours to finally start syncing. I do what the app recommends and allow it to sync while my phone is open but still no luck Extremely frustrating as I use Dropbox for everything but in a professional work flow it’s borderline unacceptable for this to happen, hoping it’s an update issue but as of current my only fix is to cancel upload and keep trying until the files finally engage and sync

Cost of space. I do not have a business. I use Dropbox for my hobby - knitting patterns. My Dropbox is almost full and I keep moving files to other locations. Why? I will tell you. I have no problem paying for some space. But as I am not a business owner to have to pay $20/month for my hobby is a bit much. I have tried finding a phone number to talk to a human being about the possibility of a one time purchase of some space, but it seems that Dropbox is not interested in talking to customers, especially “insignificant” ones like myself. I love having Dropbox and have found it easy to used but I do strongly believe that there should be an option for people like myself to purchase an additional amount of space.

Started items and large preview icons 👎. The latest change to the Home Screen is garbage. The full view of starred documents is worthless and takes up to much real estate. It serves no purpose especially when the file is an excel sheet. I don’t need giant previews of my documents and now having to scroll left to right to find the file I’m looking for. This is in no way a step forward. I used to be able to scroll a spreadsheet in preview mode without having to open it in excel but now I get some half file preview that’s not scrollable that requires me to click it to open (that’s now two clicks). Every update to this app makes it less convenient and as I have been fighting hard to avoid one drive as my primary cloud storage, with the price to space being nearly identical, it will likely be my next move.

The Gold-Standard in Backing Up & Sharing Files. Have used DROPBOX Forever; don’t know if there is a better file sharing service out there, BUT who the hełł wants to change at this point!?! *2 thoughts: (I.) I MUST LEARN TO USE THE FILE SCRUBBING TOOL to get rid of all the duplicates… I have only dabbled, BUT I will say this: over the long haul, if you really add lots of Docs OR if you continually download all the BROCHUREs+PRICELISTs associated w/ Your JOB & your COMPETITORs—and especially if you do much auto-downloading of media assets…… ~~Well eventually, you **WILL** amass an incredible amount of DUPLICATE Files, OUTDATED inventory lists, OLD Graphics\Photoshoots, Past promotions, & Generally too many «OUTDATED Documents» to easily navigate cluttered folders. ***Hopefully, the new tool works Great in alleviating this!! II.) I know there are tools that allow you to go much more in depth and maybe have more structure in how you store & what you can see & how you share. Depends on how many features you want, and whether your team has individuals WILLING to ACTUALLY Purchase+Download “_xyz_” App\Service in order for you to use it effectively…

What has happen to DB?! Now it constantly crashes and freezes. What’s happened to DropBox? Was a super reliable app. In the last month it now constantly freezes and crashes on my iPad, iPhone X and iPhone 6s so much so that I can’t use the app any longer. I have a pro business account and have use DB for 5 years and loved it and rated it 5 stars. Now it is completely broken and unusable. I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times and also done all the Apple updates on all three of my devices and it still constantly freezes and crashes. I have quit using it. Please, please fix. This is very unlike DropBox.

Not worth the hassle if your expecting to store things long term. This was one of the first file sharing cloud apps. However, there are much better more efficient apps out there now as the way they promote cloud is old news. Now with cloud you can usually use the storage with or without being active for x amount of months etc. it will always be there so long as you don’t delete from it . That is not the case with this app and seems to be a common complaint . Many have lost important files including myself on account of not seeing a deactivation email. Moral of the story is drop box is out google cloud and icloud are in . Drop-box May as well be obsolete when compared to the other Choices now , that don’t delete your files just after 12 months of inactivity.. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Prices of Dropbox. Inflation has gone through the roof right now. The prices to pay for subscriptions for Dropbox is something I think is a little high considering some people have to either buy medicine or eat. However, if I could get everything out of my Dropbox and delete if without having all red marks on my files to be backed up I would. Personally I have to choose to eat before paying for the cheapest subscription. I love the Dropbox don’t get me wrong but I think at this time while people are struggling to eat, pay bills, buy medicine, or put gas in their car y’all could lower the price for the personal one user account. If the companies want to pay for the expense ones or people that has the money they can. You have to realize that the majority of the USA is in a financial crisis along with the rest of the world.

Please stop asking me to back up photos. It’s really annoying this app tries to getting me back up my photos automatically, and this is in such a prominent place on the interface that it’s so easy to tap on that by accident. I only use Dropbox for work and I don’t want to back up my personal photos into my company’s account! Please make that banner disappear or at least try to give thee users that option! Once the backing up feature is turned on it’s so hard to find the button to turn it off and I literally have to Google how to do that🙃 Another issue is that the photos cannot upload in the background and I have to keep tapping on the screen until all the photos are uploaded, sometime hundreds of them🙁 I really hope you can improve this and allow me to just forget once I clicked “Upload”

Picture & Video upload is broken. Picture & video upload now constantly crashes. Very slow upload when it does work. Refuses to upload when the battery is low (even if its plugged in and currently charging!) If I have low battery don't you think it would be IMPORTANT to be able to upload/backup what I can before it dies?!? At the very least they should be an option that says 'continue anyway'. And if the phone is already charging I don't see why that matters? I can't upload a SINGLE picture? Really? Why does dropbox decide when I can or can't upload pics? This used to be a great app but recently it's falling apart. The media player is missing many desired features like fast forward/rewind 15 seconds, etc. Please fix the app! I've been a long time customer but I'm finding more frustrations than conveniences. Please fix the pic and video upload! App constantly locks up and crashes.

Just One Thing. I love using dropbox; I love its extremely fast synchronization, vault, interface, and free of bugs than any other cloud services out there. Haven’t got any errors using Dropbox but I had to cancel it when I used it for 6 months and switched to Google Drive. I really wish Dropbox to have Google Drive like shortcut feature that it makes my file more organize and easily accessible. I have large amount of files and folders that is used to store in the cloud and I can’t live without shortcuts to organize them. I know I can use the symbolic link but it is far behind than usefulness of Google Drive’s shortcuts.

Very frustrating. Searching for files in dropbox for iOS is terrible. Not only is the search extremely slow, not all results show up. Frequently even browsing through folders there are missing items in the iOS app. Anyone that uses office 365 will find plenty of frustrations if you were trying to use Dropbox as your default storage. Finally, for some reason the file structure does not alphabetize the same way on the desktop as it does in different apps in iOS. I have no idea why this is but any special characters that you use to make files always appear at the top of a list are treated as if they came after the letter Z in some applications, and before the letter a and others. You can never be sure if you’ve lost something or it’s just not showing.

sales. customer service is the worst that I have ever dealt with in my entire career! they do not deserve the one star that I gave them. It was the only choice I had! If you were to call, they have the nerve to tell you that the call will be recorded for training purposes. There are multiple options for you to press for customer service/anything else such as support. Once the recording stops they hang up on you without even talking with anybody Trying to go online and adjusting my plan is absolutely impossible. I will never use Dropbox again!!!! when they ask you for your name to submit your experience, after multiple times of put it in my name, it is kicked back to me telling me the name has been already used. I do not have an common name that anybody else would use. Once again, I experienced terrible customer service.

Bait and switch paywall tactic. I use a lot of devices. Dropbox was the universally accepted free cloud service and a ton of apps spent a lot of effort making them work with Dropbox because of this. Now Dropbox is behind a paywall if you want to use more than 3 devices. That’s fine and I’ve ditched it for Google and Apple which I pay for and are affordable. The problem is that a ton of apps still only link to Dropbox, something they decided to put weight behind due to Dropbox being accessible by all. Most cloud storage apps allow upgrades for more space if you like their service. A reasonable competitive tactic. Dropbox’s tactic feels manipulative, and more like a random to keep the systems users have already set up between their devices. Dropbox is free to do this. It’s a free market. But users are also free to give them 1 star and ditch their company in response.

Love DB, wish I could afford you. I don’t remember when I signed up for DB, but over that time I’ve been able to save stuff that I couldn’t find a place to save on my iPad. Do I sound digitally challenged, I am. I realize DB must be an excellent tool for business, etc, but as an individual Im thankful to use it to keep my info safe and organized. I wish there was a low-mid level sub price, because it would be worth it to me to have a secure site I trust. I understand marketing to business and generating revenue, but I’ll bet there are lots of individuals, who don’t need 2 TB of storage, who would like a safe option with a reputable site...(and don’t want to seem like unappreciative mooches). In any case, thank you. FIVE STARS!🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Uses a ton of space, then tells you you don’t have enough space to use it. Hey Dropbox, maybe I’d have enough space for you to upload my photos if you didn’t immediately consume over a gigabyte of my space every time I installed you! This app requires me to uninstall it and reinstall it twice a day just to keep uploading, because every time I install it, it eats up a gig and a quarter of my drive, and then it “doesn’t have enough space to upload”. EDIT: funny, I just came here to complain about this, and apparently it’s been going on for so many years that I forgot that I wrote a review complaining about it long ago. After clearing cache, and without saving any files for off-line use, dropbox consumes 1.3 GB of my 32 GB drive all by itself. So I’m gonna lower to one star from two stars since they’ve let the problem go on for so long.

“Camera Roll” is not the same as iOS’s Camera Roll. Reply to the Developer Response: The Developer’s reply discussed automatic photo upload. However, I was not talking about automatic upload and did not use the term. Therefore, I have modified my review to clarify. —- Review —- When manually selecting photos for upload from an iOS device, Dropbox is shows an iOS Moments view of iOS photos. Dropbox calls this “Camera Roll” even though it does not match the iOS Camera Roll. Worse, Dropbox does not offer a way to select photos for upload using a view that’s in iOS Camera Roll order. You have to remember the date you took a photo or do a whole lot of scrolling if you have more than just a handful of photos (scrolling is required because of the screen space wasted by an iOS Moments view). This is a not user-friendly approach. Another issue is that you must tap each photo instead of being able to slide your finger across the screen to select multiple. These are not the only usability issue I have with Dropbox and I use Dropbox less than I would like because of them. However, it still remains somewhat useful to me so I gave it three stars.

Camera Roll Does Not Auto Upload To Customized Folders. My biggest issue for a few years now is that when taking photos I could have those photos uploaded to specific customized photos. This was an option via settings 2 years ago but for 2 years now it defaults to a folder “Photo” with no chance of selecting which folder. My business has 7 field agents taking about 30 photos each day of real estate properties. I use to be able to create folders for each user and have their photos upload to their specific folder per device. In the office it was very easy to sort out which photos were taken by each agent. Now they dump all into one single folder “PHOTOS”. I have talked to development about this but they tell me it was a 3rd party license called Carousel that allowed them to upload to customized folders but they failed to renew the 3rd party license. Now I get emails stating as of May 7, 2019 my version of the product will fail to operate unless I update but when I go to App Store it tells me I have the latest version. Should the product fail to operate as of May 7, 2019 we will move everything to ICLOUD because the support and tools we need simply don’t exist anymore. This product that once was very good simply does not support my business workflow anymore.

The one app I can’t live without. What can I say about an app that gives me access to everything I have from my cell phone- simple intuitive fail-free. The biggest tech mistake of my life was switching briefly to another service which lost my data and treated my like dirt when I asked for help. There are few things I’d like Dropbox to change but they aren’t specific to the app. The only app bug I’d like to see changed is the folder size limit which does not apply to desktop versions. it has been an inconvenience to break up one of my large folders, but still worth it to have my whole life with me anytime anywhere.

Great, but lacking. Dropbox was good, good for storing all my files, but it had too little space. 2 GB. For all the files I need stored, I had to make 4 TOTAL Dropbox accounts. At a certain point I realized I can’t deal with this anymore. And I look into transferring my files to Google Drive. Giving me 15 GB of storage FOR FREE! I try to export my files to drive, only exports one file. I search all around! Nowhere does it say “export to drive”. I get I could have done it manually, but we’re talking folders and 6-8GB’s worth of documents, data, pictures, and whatever else. No way. I find a chrome extension, connect the account, let it sync my Dropbox to my drive! All of my dropboxes are COMPLETELY useless now! Don’t get me wrong, Dropbox is great. But hey lack in storage and refuse to give you options to transfer elsewhere. They don’t want to let you go.

A love affair gone sour. Where’s the Integrity?. I LOVED the old Dropbox. The more bells and whistles you added the worse mess my Dropbox life became. I relied on you for when I traveled and I am a writer, and am heavily research and archive needy. It used to work for me. Now I am somehow getting crossfeed from Microsoft Word, and the files that get into Drop Box, just show me weird icons with “data”. But no data or files. This is beyond maddening. I upgraded to add more storage for the creative arts work my husband and I do, and now my photos are stored in some bizarre, indecipherable logic, and with over 12,000 of them...that is a drag. I agree with every single person who said, it used to work great and the. Upgrades shoot me in the foot for several weeks of forensic admin to get it sorted. I have work to do besides the fact that customers are not paid to work for Dropbox. Please become more user friendly else I abandon Dropbox, and move my data world to my own online island! Thanks for taking this as not a complaint, but a call for the Integrity of the initial DropBox Platform.

Terrible. I’ve had a Dropbox for years now and I’ve loved it! It wasn’t until last week when I attempted to open up my Dropbox app that it showed I was logged out. I did not think anything of it until I attempted to log back in. I tried multiple times until I finally did reset password. I did reset password and Dropbox gave a message saying if we find an email associated with the account then you’ll get the reset email. I waited 5 minutes and got no email so I repeated the process multiple times and got no email. I know it’s the right email because I screenshot my Dropbox account one day! Ive tried reaching out to customer care on multiple social media platforms as well as the Dropbox website and no one ever contacted me back!! It’s nearly impossible to talk to a real representative of the company!! Don’t download this app if you like poor customer service and having ur account deleted

DON’T DELETE THINGS OFF OF IT!. So this is perfect. I can get things from my ox to my phone. Everything about this is useful. Except for the fact that downloading the application on your laptop never works. Nothing I ever upload on it shows up on my phones app. It’s horrible. It takes 10 times longer on the website and half the time it cancels. The website works, but the app on pc doesn’t. The big issue I have is that I uploaded it to the app on my pc. But I realized it didn’t work so I deleted off of that and went to the website. Big mistake. It deleted that ENTIRE FILE! I am not happy with that. And the thing is it didn’t even tell me it would! It didn’t even ask for confirmation! It’s a terrible thing. Please fix this and this will be perfect. Oh and one other thing. WHY DO YIU ONLY GET 5 GIGABYTES WHEN YOU DON’T PAY FOR IT. It also doesn’t help that they really overprice it.

If you’re a creator who collaborates. If you’re in a band, work on videos/editing, photographer, writer or just like sharing a plethora of different files with family or friends, or just want a safe & secure way to back up your memories or files, this is the app for you!! It’s free version is plenty enough for bands or collaborating musicians to share rough audio files from jam sessions, or even mix and master files to each other securely so you can hone your masterpieces privately before dropping them bangers from outer space onto the ears of fellow humans on planet Earth! We use it for the first part, very soon the latter. Ha love it! Get it! You will not be disappointed. -JT

Definitely love it!. I definitely love Drop box! It’s never been easier to sync from 3 computers, a phone, and a tablet! However, one thing that annoys me, is a banner that goes across the top of the files “Switch to annual plan…..” ok, cool, thanks, but no thanks. I tap the X button to make it go away. It comes right back the second it disappears. I don’t care to pay annually. The amount I pay right now monthly is fine! But it’s annoying to have the banner take up screen space and no real way to remove it. A reminder every few weeks or a month is fine. But not every second! 4 stars because it’s a wonderful app/service, and really a 5 star service. But, this banner is super annoying.

Worst service ever!!!!!. I have been a Custumer for over 10 years no problem. I have a yearly contract with them. This year they took the money out of my account. In June 2018 and turned off my service in July 2019. I have been fighting with them for months I gave them the receipt from my account and the Apple store. The app say active until June 2019 but when I go the the app it say full must pay money. They said they didn’t get a payment so I need to pay again. I have tried to contact them. You can only talk to them though email or twitter they will not call you. They don’t respond or slow to respond. After months of trying to get in touch with them and proving I paid. They still did not turn on my service. I called the BBB on them and they never responded. Something so simple to solve has turn me off from this product and has made me find other services better than this.

Dropbox was great when I only used PC, but is terrible on macOS and iOS. The most simple complaint is that I can’t click on every one of my files and have it play seamlessly, most of my files are MP3s or WAV files because I do audio production Also, I am visually impaired/legally blind and the interface and use ability was extremely better on PC which is strange because generally speaking, macOS and iOS are more accessible for blind people so you would think the app would follow the same logic Today, I was looking for some old files from a radio show that I used to DJ so I can send to a person who is going to hire me for a DJ gig, but I had trouble getting the files to work upon finding the ones I wanted meanwhile files of the same type would work for what seemed like no special reason other than the fact that it wasn’t the file that didn’t work

Connect A computer. Oh my gosh! I was having a difficult time logging in on my desktop - trying to remember my password and it wouldn’t let me in. I figured I’ll just continue to use the app on my phone, until I saw the “Connect A Computer” button. I pressed it and in a matter of seconds (I’d say less than 45secs) I was able to get into my account on my desktop computer. It was just three easy steps! I’ve been using Dropbox for almost 8 years and thought it was good but nothing outstanding enough to write a review until now. I just hate the little badge icon that appears on a document when saved in Dropbox. I hide it but it comes back... All good tho!

Doesn’t sync automatically. I switched to an iPhone due to my Samsung phone crashing. I lost a lot of data, but luckily Google actually syncs daily and automatically and I was able to recover 95% of my data. We signed up for a dropbox membership because my wife already had an account and decided to switch to a family plan. However, after using it for a few months. I have come to realize Dropbox does not backup my pictures/files automatically. I have to open the app and leave the app on my screen before it starts uploading all the data. This is a horrendous way for a cloud app to be working. Cause a crash can happen at any time and what I if I didn’t click on the app in any appreciable amount of time. Until Dropbox fixes this issue, I would not recommend Dropbox to anyone! I will also discuss with the wife to switch back to Google. This is unacceptable!

Having major problems now. Whatever they did I’m now having major problems .. it keeps crashing on me after about 30 seconds or so .. i cans download files from my iPhone any more and I’m paying for this!! What the heck is going on!!!! Frustrated beyond belief right now!!!! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 Update: thank you for responding .. I’ve cleared my cache and so far it hasn’t crashes on me yet. However, it gave me an error that I didn’t have enough space on my device to do the backup .. so I went thru and deleted a bunch of app stuff and msg attachment files and now it seems to be working for now. Will keep you posted.. I’ve added a few extra stars because you responded to me with some ideas .. Thank You! 😊

No Guarantee Your Data Won’t Be Lost!. I’ve been a Dropbox Premium user for over 10 years without complaint. However recently Dropbox lost the majority of my files (over 200 GB) and no one has been able able to help me. In addition, be aware that if you use Dropbox on your Mac on the latest version of MacOS, your Dropbox files are physically stored in \Library\CloudStorage\Dropbox. If you want to uninstall Dropbox there is no way to remove that Dropbox folder from your computer, you cannot drag and drop it to the trash. I have backup software that is hanging up because of this folder I cannot delete. Again no one from their customer service can help. Lastly, if you pay annually and end your subscription early you won’t receive a partial refund. I’d recommend Google Drive or iCloud Drive over Dropbox any day.

Deleted all my photos. I received emails from Dropbox saying my account was being deleted due to inactivity. (This is a data STORAGE service. How active is one supposed to be?). Their website said data would not be deleted for 2 weeks after the user’s account was closed. I contacted customer support the day I received the email that my account had been closed. I followed the online instructions to reactivates account. However, my photos were gone!! Customer service was not able to help retrieve the photos, nor provide an explanation as to why they were deleted within hours after the account was closed. Your data is not safe on this site, especially with the free version. Dropbox, don’t offer a free version if you are not going to protect the user’s data. I am not referring to the security of the site, but rather the lack of regard they have for the data of people using their site. Two words: Google Drive Bye Dropbox.

Garbage for how much everyone is using this service. My buddy has been trying to send me links on Dropbox for years and i used to always have problems with them yet I’m very computer savvy. I finally just signed up for an account because I was forced to transfer some legal documents. As far as I’m concerned dropbox is poorly designed. It should be so extremely simple yet it it is so extremely frustrating. On the desktop I have to login only to get to another page where I have to login again I go back to the first page it seems to be a verifiable page on by dropbox yet it just takes me to another login page very frustrating. Yesterday I’m trying to send the second MP4 file to my lawyer and it just won’t share it this year option is not even there. I could go on but I don’t care. I will pretty much avoid dropbox as much as possible and look for another file sharing service like you should too !!!!

Long time user - one ask!. Hi there! I’ve been with Dropbox for what feels like a common law marriage length of time. I’ve been backing up all of my photos for years to Dropbox rather than keeping them in my iCloud. There is one feature however that I’m DYING for you to implement. In the Apple photos app you have this open search technology where you can search “apples” or “beach” or “Mom” and the photos get easily pulled up for you. I would be over the moon thrilled if you could build a search functionality like this to the Dropbox app. I spend so much time digging through years of images. It would take forever to move them back to iCloud just to make it easier to index but I am tempted! Thanks so much for hearing me out. Appreciate it!
