Better than a 4 star. I am still working with the many modules I now have. If they all work as well as the ones l have tried.... this will earn a 5 star!

Smaart and Transfer Function are Great. I have been using SMAART Live for years on my PC to do live sound. This is so much cheaper and works just as well for a really good RTA. I have the transfer function add on as well. It's very affordable for use by any working audio engineer. I have advised many touring pros to get this. I have now purchased 2 iAudiodevice2 for Smaart and Transfer Function and and I love them. I used to use the Shure mic Pre with a USB hub for power and it worked great too.

Almost every tool you will ever need. I have used this app for setting up sound systems (pinpointing feed back quick and easy), tuning speaker cabinets, mastering Cds. You will need more than this but its another tool. Few jobs can be done with just one tool. Yes to make some things easier you will need to purchase some additional tools. Still When a mechanic buys a tool box he generally adds more tools. No doubt your ears are your most important tools that you have, but this suit of apps are definitely a huge help. With this app you get a lot for 20 bucks. The additional modules make a complete tool box. With the ability to see what you hearing.

Thumbs Up. 30 plus years as a professional sound engineer, well versed in SMAART and TEF analysts. This is a very useful “On the Fly” APP!

Good Standard. If you were serious about measuring a quad to find the acoustic and audio in space this is the only app to buy. It is most compatible with useful accessories and produces reasonable output that you can easily share with your clients users.

Good app that is regularly updated.. New features and quality improvements come regularly.

Best I’ve found. Useful and so far as tested, very accurate. Learning curve is quick, even amateurs can use this. I do wish you could add “favorites” to the homepage of the app; I cannot be alone in that I use 3 of the tools most often, 1 occasionally and the rest not at all; would be great to access them with less click fatigue.

Trusty standby. Excellent choice if you are considering an audio utility for your phone. AudioTools has a lot of in-depth and crucial features, and they are always working on it. -1 star because it is difficult to restore purchases.

It’s good but it feels outdated. It’s not like the science or math has changed or needs to be updated super often, but the workflow and UI definitely feels outdated now in 2023. I like the SPL graph but it’s pretty janky to set up. In the SPL dashboard, I can’t tell any way to rearrange the different modules I have, or resize them take the amount of space I want them to take.

Deceptive Advertising and minimal controls. I spent the $20 on this app thinking I would get all the robust features advertised only to discover most of the apps required additional - and very expensive - purchases. Even the functionality of the only app I really needed, and paid for, was very limited. For example, the realtime frequency analyzer only had adjustments for either full-octave or 1/3 octave resolution. I wanted 1/16 but apparently that's asking too much.

Great app!!. This is a professional level app. The quality is superb. If topiary only looking for RTA and/or FET, then yes, there are free apps that work just as good. However, Audio Tools offer different upgrades as your expertise increases. This way, as your skill level increases, you have the opportunity in purchase upgrades so all the apps you use will be in one location. That for me is a HUGH plus..

Update broke it. On my iPhone 6 it appears then vanishes

Audio tools excellent. Fantastic app, I use it all the time, Well worth the small cost, will eventually get the breakout box. The I pad has a weak microphone and even weaker speaker (noticed while using the sweep generator function) Perfect app for setting up the home stereo, surround sound, or for tweaking PA systems and showing the club owner that their juke box is louder then the band

Great app nice features. I only use a small percentage of the app but it is great to have all of this in one place. Plan on getting then calibrated USB mic. Only current nit — don’t use the screen capture on IOS 11.0.2. If you need that try before you really need it or use the Apple supplied screen capture. On my device you loose most of the third octave bars and it totally clips the top of the graph. Hopefully when I upgrade to IOS 11.2 this will fix itself. If not, how the developers can research.

Decent app, but deceptive pricing. For potential purchasers - unlocking all features of the application will cost just a bit over $800. The $9.99 upfront app price is basically your crack dealer giving you the first hit for free.

Please support audiobus. I want to use a parametric eq to tune some monitors to flat, but this is not possible to verify in LARSA because Audiotools won't let me run it through the same EQ. The easiest way to do this would be to add audiobus support to Audiotools/LARSA. Then the signal sweep can get corrected by the same EQ I apply to other apps.

Awesome app. I’ve used this app for years now and have not rated it but it has always been up in the 4-5 star range. Great updates and quick to fix any bugs. I thought I bought the SPL pro once but it never transferred to my newer devices. I could be wrong it was quite a while ago, but everything else has always transferred with all my new devices. I found that there is an option to restore purchases but I did have to click the SPL pro button first for the choice to restore to come up. Andrew did respond but I had already figured it out. Thanks for your help and quick response.

Extremely useful and amazing app!!!. Hello, I’m a music major at Berklee College of Music. I use this app extensively for one of my courses. It really delivers. I would like to thank the developers for the great app. Thanks, DM

Portable, professional Audio measurement and analysis tool box.. The well thought out products included in the offerings from Studio Six are extremely helpful and capable.

The Best professional audio calibration app out there!. Light years above any other app. The most complete app based audio tool suite in existence. Worth every penny and a lot more.

EDC for all working sound humans. Leatherman? check. Flashlights? check. Sharpies? check. Gaff?check. AudioTools? check. Never leave home without it!

By far the best.. I’ve been using this suite of tools for five years. The app Always works, always does what I need and it is FAR less expensive than many other options. When I visit client sites it is so nice to grab samples and save as photos for later inclusion in reports. I do wish that there was a way — but I understand I can’t do it easily — to use a calibrated external microphone. However, at this price point that’s a big request. I highly recommend this group of apps for any user skills from beginner curiosity up to experienced audio engineers.

The support guys at AudioTools. Upgraded my iPhone to a 13 Pro. Andrew sent me a link within minutes that got all my AudioTools apps back up and running at the click of my finger! Hats off to the best support in the Biz!! Dave

A great value. I bought this kit and the Smaart plugin. The peak light on the 'analog' SPL meter doesnt light up on peaks, maybe the incandescent burned out, after all, its 50 years old. haha Please light peaks dull orange-yellow in an update. Hands down the best audio measurement app for iOS. Smith relentlessly expands development to improve features and support new hardware and OS.

Very good app and great service. I initially rated this app low because it crashed on launch with my iPad Air 3. But the developer contacted me and asked me to try a beta version of the app that might solve the problem. The beta version worked great and they immediately released that version. Terrific customer service to resolve an issue. As for how the app works... I’m new to this so I’m still trying to figure out how to take measurements and how to use this information to make improvements to my home theater system. But the app seems to work well with the limited experience and knowledge I have at this point.

The original SPL meter is gone. I want the old fashion spl with the blue background back. They just took it out of nowhere. Not cool when that is the one you have always used. Otherwise great app.

Great Set Of Tools. Been using this app for a few years now. I,ve checked it against SmaartLive, and it is pretty accurate.

The best toolbox for live audio reinforcement. If you’re looking for an RTA, you can’t do better than the smart module in AudioTools. Do yourself a favor and get this app.

Overpriced. Everything useful is extra and this is already high for an app. Very very disappointed with what u get relative to other apps for the price

Regular user. I’ve been using AudioTools for years. I rely on the FFT function to maintain listener comfort and clarity in my church on a regular basis.

Best App for iOS. Tried literally every other app and nothing else compares.

Has minor flaw. The app doesn’t open properly on an iPad in portrait orientation when initially launched. Developer believes this is caused by bug introduced in iOS 13. If you open app in landscape, no problem. Or, after opening in portrait, swipe in from left edge to pull in the Audio Tools menu bar, then it works ok.

I Use this great App Daily. As an Audio Professional, I use this App everyday in my work. I have have been at it fo 50 years. This App for about 5 years! I paid $35K for my first B&K 1/3 Octave Spectrum Analyzer which was the size of a 20” TV.

Come on, please improve this app?. I have had several upgrades to this suite of audio tools for YEARS. And it is still woefully out of date, klunky to use, and skips over ease-of-use features built into the tablet’s operating system. Installing again after a rebuild of an iPad Pro, I restore purchases, get feedback they have been restored, but when I open up individual apps, they act like they are not upgraded, and features are grayed out that I bought, and the app settings indicate I bought them.

Real-Time Analyzer (RTA). The RTA is most useful to me when I am the audio engineer for a live program. It is a great help in zeroing in on unwanted frequencies as well as frequencies that will improve the program.

This is the one. Whether your novice, or your working class on a budget like myself. This app gives you flexibility to expand as your finance changes. With add on modules as low as 5 bucks on up you can’t go wrong. Buying some computer programs are expensive at the start up. Sometimes not with the features you want them to have. With this app, I can pick and choose when I desire to. And the pockets don’t get emptied. The best part of all has to be, the demo of the module you want to buy. This is so very useful to those unsure of its operation. Nice touch, very highly recommended to any one.

Excellent tool set for audio. I’ve had AudioTools for several years now and have added and updated as necessary. The tools are very useful, accurate and well maintained.

Bait and switch requested refund. Are you seriously asking people to pay 10 bucks for access to a portal for other apps costing 100s of dollars? The app never clearly states what are you actually getting. In this age of apps $10 needs to pay for a hell of a lot more than this!

terribly inaccurate. way way way way off and inconsistent. pretty bummed out that i spent $20 on this because its bad to the point of being completely useless. maybe it has something to do with newer devices having input ranges or something? not sure if that could be it because my ipad is a few years old and still has a TRRS jack, and i loaded up my mic calibration file that worked fine on my PC. I’m getting 50db readings a few feet from a speaker that is certainly putting out over 95db

Can’t Calibrate Mic. I can’t get to step 1 with Audio Tools. The setup will not import my mic’s calibration txt file and the app keeps hasseling me to review it so 0 stars would be preferable but 1 is as close as I can get to that rating. It’s just a sales platform not a useful app as-is. You have to buy the add-ons to get actual useful data from it.

Used to be great, now seems overpriced. The price of the individual modules seems way too high, especially for what else is available in the App Store. On top of that, the SPL meter still doesn’t display properly in iOS 11.

Misleading money-grab. Really wanted to like this app. I read about all these different tools it supports in the description, and decided to pull the trigger on the most expensive app purchase of my life. Twenty dollars. Turns out that this only gets you a couple of simple "tools", most of which are available for free through other apps. The kicker is that the useful tools can cost anywhere between 5 and TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS. Who do these guys think they are? It's absolutely insane. Not even those videogames with endless "microtransactions" are this much of a shameless money steal. When you pay twenty dollars for an app, it had better be good. It shouldn't just be a portal to dropping another absurd amount of money for basic functionality you would expect.

The ideal one stop shop. Everything I need for day to day work and trouble shooting in my pocket.

Powerful but fugly interface. Pretty obviously designed by an engineer that has no user interface designer friends. I am not an audio expert, and the interface sure doesn’t help me understand the importance of what each knob and button does. Some target values for different situations or examples of good and bad graphs and why, to use as a benchmark would go a long way for a rookie. I don’t blame the developer for my lack of knowledge, but at the same time, intuitiveness is a big part of the apps useability. As far as actual performance and features, its great.

Re register. Only issue I have is every time I use it I have to re register the app or if there is an upgrade. Just a hassle. App works fine.

Fantastic, Best App I’ve Ever Seen. This is a solid reference tool. It has incredible features for acoustic analysis. I frequently use the SPL meter to quickly check levels; it’s far more likely I have my phone on me than a dedicated device. I have used the signal generators for testing speakers and the acoustic response of my studio. There’s everything you’ll want here (I don’t quite know what half the things do, but this app does it!). The only thing that will make this better is an omni reference mic since the built-in microphone has limitations, but as a ballpark quick reference (which is what I usually need), this is amazing. I recommend this constantly. The price is unbeatable. Considering buying one of each of the tools it has would rack up quite a bill, this app has everything and it’s all on your phone. Can’t say enough good things.

My to go app. Works every time and anytime

I regret my purchase. Really not that accurate even when paired with a good mic. You pay $20 for minimal version of SOME the required apps. Want the whole package? It’s like $400 to unlock everything. For that price you can buy a small tablet PC and use REW which is FAR better than this inaccurate garbage. Save the headache and save the money. Avoid!

Well worth it! Always updating.. I just wanted to give my quick review..... features and functions and capabilities of the app are top notch. I don’t think there is anything that even comes close.... at least not that i have ever saw. My favorite thing is how often the app is updated and new modes, features, tests, and constant refinement happens. It obvious they care about the app and strive to be the best.... to me that means a lot!

Best help. Studio Six Digital Audio Tools have been part of my arsenal for several years. From sound reinforcement projects to adjusting multi channel amplifiers, to test fire alarm notification appliance sound levels.

Ripped off. Bought this high paid app thinking I was getting what was displayed in the example pictures . Now find that these are more over priced apps you need to pay for once you've downloaded this app. Very deceptive and I will be putting in a complaint !!! Don't show example pictures of what is not in the app !!!!

Works great. Iv been using this app to do the driver level set up on a pair of modified JBL 4345 studio monitors in building, am finding the app very helpful in driver level setup and tweaking the crossovers ! .

Fantastic toolset for the price!. By far the best set of audio tools available on iOS. If you have a good sound system or work in the field, this app will come in very handy. Even though I have pro gear for most of the same measurements, having this app on my phone has been very handy and got me out of quite a few pickles!

What happened to the SPL meter look?. When I bought the app it had a really accurate and nice look SPL device . Now it looks like a radio shack box.

Annoyed. For $23.99 im a little peeved at the fact you pretty much get the functions of a $2 app and prompt for more riddiculous amounts to just use most of the advertised features! Why waste money on this toy when you can get a real spl meter or setup your own laptop / pc !

Useless app for measuring speakers. I thought for $30 I would get decent measurements. Not so and I cant get a refund. Really annoying

free app works better. brought this for the signal generator. but it does not work. complete silence with volume and gain set to max. got a free app that does work instead. waste of $31.

Ideal setup. This is a great app if you need to set up a PA system.

Audio tools. Warning if your not an audio professional don't buy this . Only a true pro will understand what these guys are are doing and what a. Bargain these apps are . With 35 years in pro audio we own B&K AP. Nti. This app along with the calibrated mic and I/O not to mention Smaart app coming soon compares to the best instruments in the industry along with support that is up there with the best. As an additional tool in kit this is invaluable. Remember my warning. The price is a bargain

Fantastic app. I do a lot of live mixes and I couldn't live without this app now. Using smaart tools and spl meters give me a great overview of my mix. Any chance of providing microphone data in the design section in a future version?

Professional tools for a bargain price. Just adding an update to my review. I've now been using this app and some of the in app purchased modules for a couple of years (I'm a professional sound engineer with electronics qualifications) and it is still running very nicely on my aging 3G iPhone running iOS 4.2.1. I recently purchased a 3GS iPhone from a friend and have iOS 5.1.1 running on that and Audio Tools runs extremely well on it too. For most measurement purposes I use an external measurement mic and interface but when using the iPhone mics, the 3G is more accurate despite the phone being slower. Here's my original review... I completely agree with russotag. Audio Tools and the additional modules are serious applications that any serious engineer will find extremely useful. I own an Audio Precision Portable One Plus (about AU$10,000 when purchased) and Audio Tools is right up there with it and, in some areas even better!! People who know what test gear is for and how to use it will find this app and the in app purchases WELL worth the price.

Very deep and well developed app. I am an acoustics consultant and I have used this app on dozens of rooms as an impulse response measuring device. I know the app can be used for many other purposes and it looks like each one has been crafted with the same attention to detail to what I use it for. Also Andrew is very quick to respond to any issues or inquiries you may have with its functionality. Highly recommended!

Crashes !!!. New version never opened on ios7. Crashes on startup. Not useful when you need it everyday. App was ok with some problems, now it's not even working anymore !!!

Was amazing, now absolutely useless. I'm a professional sound technician who tunes cinema sound systems. This app saved me carrying an RTA and SPL meter and it was amazing. That's no more, now they constantly update the app with very expensive in app purchases and new calibrations. The updates wipe your calibrations and replace them with settings that won't work, unless you buy their EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE mic. The SPL in particular needs to be set with another meter after EVERY UPDATE!!!!!! Picture this, you fly to a remote location, start testing sound and notice the readings are way off. Then you notice there was an automatic update that reset your calibration and your meter is now wrong. It's not just SPL, the RTA curve shows bass levels 12db high at 30hz. Try setting up a dozen sub woofers in cinemas with no way to measure the output. I was a huge fan of this app and company but now I have to tell you, save your money! There are other sound apps out there, they are so much cheaper and won't leave you hanging.

Absolutely Fantastic!. I setup a friend's stereo in his garage with this app. I got him to purchase it aswell once I showed him the RTA and DB Meter (he loved the app too since he is a professional musician and this app can help when he sets up for his gigs). But in his garage, the surfaces of everything was so hard that the sound was irritating! So we dialed in each frequency of the EQ (little 7 band). He hooked up his iPhone through the stereo and using the Signal Generator he set each frequency to the band of the EQ (the EQ was set completely flat for the baseline test). I went to the middle of the garage and measured the SPL with my iPhone. Once we knew the base SPL of each band of the eq, then he again applied the frequency's throught the stereo and we adjusted each band (one at a time) until the SPL was the same on each band. Now you can stand anywhere in the garage and it sounds fantastic. We adjusted the response of the system in the room and now is completely balanced and the clearity is unreal! There are no harsh tones and has fantastic stereo seperation. It worked so well there is only about .5dB loss from one end of the garage to the other. I'm currently looking for dual mono 30 band EQ's for myself just so I can fine tune my home audio system with this app. I have also used it to tune my bass guitar (adjusting the pickups) so the volume of each note is within about .5dB of each other. I have tuned car stereo's, setup for friends gig's, etc. If you're an audio nut, you will love this app! Keep up the great work guys!

Best pocket audio tools ever!. This collection of audio analysis devices, are in use with me every day! I use them in the studio. I use them outdoors for noise complaints. They are accurate amazing devices.

20 dB difference. I compared the rta level with my iPhone se and the iPad is 20 dB louder. Why is the big difference?

Not much for $5. The basic app will set you back $5. After that everything is extra and not inexpensive. Poor value.

3D , Waterfall. awesome Ap !!! Wish it had a 3D FFT. FFT with 3'rd dimension bring time .

Fantastic. An amazing suite of tools. Super professional. I am demonstrating sound and audio measurement principles to my students in a technical theory course at University. I could lug all the big expensive gear in the room, shoot the meters with a video camera and project that onto the big screen, or...simply plug my iPad into the external VGA connection (with the VGA adaptor) and, voila! Real time analysis. I like that I can use the generator on my iPhone and display the results on the iPad. Keep up the excellent work, people!

Great app. One of the best tools I have

Great set of tools!. I use These apps with the iO interface 2 on my iPhone. I took time to compare various output data directly with my long time existing measurement system (EASERA, laptop and RME FFUC) and while a few of the calculations seem to not behave, most of the data is totally great. Studio 6 seems to be very busy improving the apps all the time and given the very low cost and exceptional convenience, I very highly recommend AudioTools and the interface! I may get the i test mic also. I use this gear professionally in my acoustical consultancy... Not on all projects but much of the time these days!

Excellent Application. Great portable AudioTool Set. Keep up the good work Andrew ! Thanks Don

PERFECT. very good application accurate and complete, fast technical support and efficase, really the cheapest for analysis 1 in all with an interface, it's amazing

what a crapshoot. I buy this app, expecting some useful tools, but instead it includes just the developers CHEAPEST apps. So, I feel like I could take my $20, and spend it on each individual thing that came with it, and come out with change leftover. ALSO, in the screenshots, it shows apps that don't even come with it, you have to pay an extra $8 for. what a load of crap.

Excellent Suite of Sound Apps. As a team lead for a House of Worship volunteer sound team, I use several of these apps with the team religiously :). Very useful and effective.

Expensive but works ok.. Quite expensive for what you get, then you are asked to pay a lot more for each add-on. Regret purchase? Yesss!

Well over 10 years. And it’s still perfect.

Great app!. Being for the ipad it is very convenient and easy to use. Fast and easier than pulling out the old laptop. Using the internal mic of my iPad 3 it appears to be very accurate. Easily save graphs to compare later. Hopefully Andrew comes out with a waterfall graph soon. Using the FFT module to adjust and flatten out my sub as it has the 1/12 and lower octave measurement to eq my sub more precisely.

The Analog SPL meter issue with iPhone 14 Pro. This app is great to quickly measure sound levels. Ever since I upgraded to the iPhone 14 Pro, the Analog SPL meter… graphically… the range dial is soooo misaligned. It’s like the dial is moved out of alignment. Please look into this. Thank you.

H.blais b.sc. Nice program. Keep up the good work guys.

Great app - got the audio interface box - very nice. Nice app.. would be nice if some basic things like the digital SPL meter and tone generator were included in the $20 purchase price.. The box itself is very nice, still have a bunch of testing to do, but so far, so good

Amazing Tool Box. I am amazed at the capabilities in this package. Great support when I had a minor problem. Keep up the great work Andrew!

So so app. The tools are very useful. The recorder however is completely and utterly unreliable. I am unable to save the recordings and have now lost some critical audio recordings. If you want an audio recorder, is is NOT the app to use. It's ability to effectively save files is not there, I just lost a recording now again...so not impressed! Some of the other tools I like and are useful. Unfortunately as an all round fully functional app this doesn't quite capture it for me!

iPad pro. Smaart live is working perfectly and is killing it specially now that I can use the split screen on my iPad Pro!! Keep up the great work (maybe a favorite app fast access thing would be nice)

Works as promised. The app works as promised after upgrading to latest version. Very good, highly recommended.

Outstanding app. Great app, well worth buying.Keep up good work

The best app a capabilities. You can make a living with this if you know what you're doing.. Fantastic app and the additional in-app purchases have been stunning! Five years ago this set of tools would have cost thousands of dollars AND you would have needed a vehicle to schlep it around - now an iPod Touch & a pencil bag for the mic and pre and your set. I'm amazed every time I use it - all this ability & accuracy in the palm of my hand... Cool. Andrew keep up the great work. I'll be downloading the STC in-app as soon as iTunes let's me. Looking forward to SII app. Last words... For those people that gave negative comments about spending 20 bucks and not being happy with it. You're ignorance and obvious lack of age is showing. Sonny, this app is way too big for you.

Smaart Tools crashes upon opening on this latest update. FIXED!. It’s crashing on both iPhone and iPad. YOU FIXED IT VERY FAST WELL DONE!

Nice foundation for audio toolset. The apps are accurate. The Modular audio toolbox concept is very nice. I greatly look forward to the future Of this app, especially impulse response creation! Ignore unprofessional naysayers, this app is good. Keep up the good work.

Audio tool. Excellent app for audio lovers

Not much more than the lite versions. I was very disappointed to see that after spending $10 on the app that most additional features over the lite version and other similar apps powered by studio6 software are still only available through in app purchases. Stay away and use the lite versions unless you intend to fork over a lot more money.

Best toolkit!. Use the RTA for room acoustic measurements, signal generator great for speaker testing, I have had this app for years, real problem solver.

Brilliant. Outstanding app!!!

This app helps pay for my iPhone!. It astounds me that I am able to conduct detailed site surveys, technically support what I hear or do - without bringing in the rather large tool box of specialized equipment. It's all in the app! And the extra purchases are also a fraction of what they would cost in the pro world. I like the fact that the app designer is also CTS certified as there are some criteria to truths we are committed to. So the promises for continual upgrade are undeniably real. My sincere thanks to those who have shared this valuable intellectual property. It has helped greatly.

Needs improvement/updates. Get rid of annoying startup screen.. Would like to see a better icon and user interface. Just hire a professional graphic artist guys... Some apps could be combined, but instead are bundled as add ons; I would rather not keep having to press the back button every time I want to use a different feature... For example all of the Spl meters could be lumped together. It is a little tedious and I can't help but feel cheated. It would also be nice if the resolution was higher because it is a little pixelated on the iPhone 4. Go ahead and buy it, but let the developer know that it needs updating.

Never stop learning about this app. This app carries enough feature to handling many complicated situation.

Listener. Five stars isn't enough! Incredible app! I too was a little put off by the extra expence of the in-app purchases, but quickly changed my mind after using them (all but impulse response which I don't have....yet.) I have used many thousands of dollars worth of complicated test equipment that doesn't measure up to the quality of this app suite. Can't wait for the iAudio interface package with microphone. The guys at Studio Six respond quickly to questions, and really know their stuff. Their upgrades aren't just bug fixes, they add additional utilities to boot. Top notch all the way. Now how about an iPad version ( upgrade ).

Li Chard. I've purchased this App because I am an automotive NVH engineer working in China. I am training Chinese engineers, and this App is helping to show the spectral characteristics of various automotive sounds. It is useful to do a quick check of approximate sound pressure levels. The App is good for technical people but is a little expensive for curious casual use. We have spent thousands of dollars and RMB to get software that does the same things this App does. This is a good buy for engineering individuals looking for a portable analysis system.

Mostly up sells. Basics tools included the rest are expensive and not included. Disappointed for what I paid.

Mush have. Love this app. Every sound guy mush have. Help with ringing out FOH and monitors.

Live gigs. Awesome tool best app ever a must have for any sound engineer.

Pro Audio Must Have App!!. I work as a pro sound mixer and downloaded Audio Tools thinking it would be a cool toy to show off to collegues, but not much more. As it turns out, Audio Tools is a "how did I ever live without it?" app! I have used The RTA with the internal iphone mic to rough tune LOUD monitor wedges and FOH systems and so far have been very happy with the results. The db meter works great as does the tone generator. This app literally replaces $1000's worth of test equipment for the price of a Radio Shack db meter!! If you tour as an artist or band sound mixer and don't already have a SMART, Apogee, Earthworks rig, this app is for you, especially if you work on A different PA everyday! I can't wait to try the interface.

David Thor. I think this application is one of the best I have EVER purchased. I use it all of the time for professional audio applications. While my system is not totally calibrated yet, the measurements even when using the internal phone microphone are quite accurate. I am waiting to purchase the fully calibrated microphone system from Audio Tools when that it becomes available. GREAT JOB People! Worth every nickel.

Awesome responsiveness of support. THE acoustics software tool for iOS.

Good. Good but pricy

just works!. Everything works as it should. I think the cost of the modules is fair, though Impulse Response is rather expensive. With the 1.5 update, a lot of useful free modules have been added. Can't wait for my 3G iPad and the 1.6 update. Waiting for the hardware as well. When that comes, it will be worth a 5.

Great!. Even though I had already purchased some of the apps this bundle is perfect for live use and troubleshooting systems. I just need the iaudiointerface! For the price it can't be beat especially if you've considered the hefty price of an audio toolbox or an sp395. Thanks studio six!

Not worth $5. I regularly use the JL Audio Tools app. It works great in a pinch. It advertised to me that this "pro version" was half off. I went for it hoping for some new useful tools. I was very disappointed. Most of the interesting tools require expensive in app purchases ($10). There wasn't anything new from what the free JL Audio app offers me. It does include a new sine wave/noise generator, but there are better free apps for that available. I wish I could get my money back. This app is totally useless.

Very useful. This app is awesome. I am a lead audio engineer at a growing church! Our sound board is in a less than ideal location, Sunday mornings I have the pleasure of having a floor guy directing us. But on Wednesday night for our youth program I am often alone. I rely heavily in my iPad, this app, and the itestmic to help me. Provide the best possible sound. We have occasional use of a smaart7 system set up with a measurement mic on the floor and the difference between the two readings is minimal. I strongly suggest this app!

A Wonderful Analysis and Teaching Tool.. Not being either a Sound Engineer or Audio Professional, this app is incredible for the features it provides. I have used this app as both as a learning/teaching tool at work, and in helping my son with a science project involving temperature effects on tuning forks. I greatly appreciated the ability to add additional modules at my leisure, but can that become costly very quickly. Perhaps having a fully-loaded app (at least including the most popular add-on modules) would allow potential purchases to better understand what they are about to get themselves into. One of the highlights with this app has been the FFT with its available octave and time delay options, and another is the ability (for the iPad) to display two different modes at the same time. The app developer's web site is absolutely incredible in regards for letting you understand what each module can do, and how it does it. If there is a concern I have, it is that it appears the app developer attempts to compensate via a software algorithm for the low frequency cutoff on the iPad built-in microphone. Assuming the previous statement is correct, I would like to see what the behavior is without the software algorithm (just for comparison purposes).

Great for hobbyists as well. I like to build speakers DIY and I use this along with an extension cable and TRRS measurement mic attached to a thin pole to take measurements of my systems. Pink noise through the speaker, and the FFT module with a long decay time, or average mode, allows decent accuracy magnitude response measurements. FFT won't get you the phase response, but the Smaart tools module probably will.

Excellent!. Very useful, well engineered and designed. Superb value.

Amazing. One of the best, and precise tool !

Incredible value and quality. This is an incredibly handy suite of software, well put together, great attention to technical detail, and can solve all kinds of problems from adjusting the tone of PA systems to finding feedback and judging acoustics. The tone generator has almost everything you can imagine short of an impulse tick…and that’s included in the Delay Finder section. Even the included “Radio Shack” SPL meter is right on the money. Clearly, these guys know what they’re doing. I used to work with Audio Precision System One test sets, Audio Control RTAs, and Sound Technology testers, and if you had told me you could get this much power for this money and fit it in your pocket, I would have thought you were dreaming. Particularly nice they can bypass the high-pass filter in an iPhone 4S and adjust gain…too bad Apple isn’t letting them do that in the 6S, apparently.

Pro Tools. As a Professional audio engineer this app is wonderful when I need a quick and accurate RTA. Don't be stupid and get the Smaart upgrade its worth it. Since I always have my phone with me having an accurate measurement tool is only a few clicks away A+

Great app. This is possibly the best app in the app store. I purchased the iAudioInterface off Studio Six Digital web site and it is a great setup. I really like the part of being able to buy the modules I need as I go along instead of purchasing a complete software package for hundreds of dollars that is full of things I don't use. The other thing that impressed me is that when I had a problem I emailed for support and with in a few hours had a reply and a solution to the problem. The accuracy of the measurements seems to be right on. Some have gave it a poor rating because of the price. When is the last time you priced a audio measurement software? Bet it didn't fit in your pocket either...

Great App!!!. I am the director of a Performing Arts Center and have to deal with audio issues in 3 different performance spaces and varied events from rock bands, orchestras, choirs, musicals and plays. I purchased the App when it first came out and have used the basic tools that came with it with great success. ( Had FOH audio engineers compare the accurracy of the app tools to their own and have come away impressed) I have purchased additional tools as needed which has saved me a lot of money compared to the single tools I would have purchased. To those having issues with cost or deceptive practices, read everything very closely and contact Line 6 if you have questions. Then Determine what tools you need to accomplish the job so you are paying for what you have need for. When I weighed what I would spend purchasing stand alone tools ( even the so called cheaper units) to what I spent with this app; In my book this has been a worthwhile investment!!! I plan to install on my Ipad 2 so I can use tools at the same time.

Beware!. I run a sound company in southern california doing concert and corporate work. This is a good ap. RTA is very accurate. However if you try to buy any accessories like the interface to plug in an external mic, don't. I have been waiting for mine for over 2 months. There was no indication that it was back ordered, they have not responded to my frequent attempts at communication. It's like they stopped caring about their customers. My advice don't buy this ap. buy the basic RTA only for 99¢. And just use your phone.

Awesome. Great

Great App. I am a semi-professional sound tech and have had plenty of experience with software like this on the computer. This is a a great app, and has all the features you could possibly want. The in-app purchases can get a bit expensive, but for what you get, you could easily pay four or five times for separate software/hardware. Everything works great, and I wouldn't trade it for anything I can get for OS X or Windows. This will be my choice for a long time to come.

Great Application - V2.2. The recent update has made the app/apps very stable and refined the operation and flexibility of many of the apps and setup procedures, working with both iOS3 and iOS4. The addition of the recorder feature is also a nice touch. When used in conjunction with the iAudioInterface produces an outstandingly flexible and accurate set of audio measurement tools costing a fraction of many equivalent measurement systems. Even without the iAudioInterface the new range of setup features allows for some customization of the devices internal mic to produce a reasonably accurate tool for quick audio measurements on the iPod Touch, iPhone or iPad.

Worth Every Penny - And Then Some.... Don't be fooled with this one. There's much more included than what it sounds like. Another $11 for 2 in-app purchases and I can walk into any venue and issue an overall quality report of a clients system. Pre-sale support was equally impressive. Apps like these with ala carte module purchases make sense. And with modules priced at $5.95 you can really tailor this and not spend money for options you'll never use. I spend more than most on apps and have to say this was the best money ever spent. Harry Otto Ottotronics

Limited. Almost all the included tools are avail free elsewhere with better interfaces

Updated OS11 Screwed App Up. The dials on my sound generator are wayyy out of line with the new OS11. I’m running an iPhone 7Plus and had absolutely no issues with the app until the “new and improved” OS came about. Why are people always fixing things that AIN’T BROKEN???😡

Irony. Mostly I have been thrilled with Audio Tools. Not the least with Andrew's immediate response on a Sunday via email. The irony is that I have been asked to review the product when it has failed me the most having never been asked to review it. My single problem is that we are paying premiums for works in progress. Audio people demand robust performance for tools to gain true word of mouth support. Crashing, hanginging, and inconsistant levels from module to module cannot earn that confidence. They tell me 1.6 will be better, let us hope because I require test equipment to be a lifesaver not a cute toy. Mostly this product has been there for me when I need it. Mostly

Don’t waste your money. This doesn’t work!. I have used better app than this less cost. Search before you buy!

Indispensable. A must have app for convenience and value for anyone in Pro Audio or the audio hobbyist. Updates are timely and when there is a problem, they are quick to correct. Truly amazing the versatility this product offers on an iOS device. 10 years ago these features required a dedicated PC and $$thousands.

Great professional tool!. If you are looking for a basic tool to mess around with try the jbl tools app by Studio Six Digital. If you want to add professional features that cost $100's of times more than these in app purchase and use a professionally calibrate microphone through their interface than look no further. Yes they cost money, you get what you pay for though, and them some.

Review of Audio Tools. Been using this app for almost over a year and it is great when considering the value. I also purchased several of the in-app add-ons and each has worked great. Primarily use it for live and fixed sound system setup, but works very well at testing speaker drivers and boxes. Highly recommend AudioTools for your audio testing needs.

Great app. This is a great collection of tools for the audio specialist to use in setting up a room with good sound. A couple of optional modules are way out of my price range, but they may be worthwhile for others. The "basic" collections is quite substantial and is ample enough for most room needs.

Stopped working with iRig Pro. Now useless. Worthless

Big disappointment. I purchased this app after reading all the feature lists and watching videos of its use. However, upon opening it up I discovered that the rta feature is limited to 1 octave and 1/3 octave. How am I supposed to get an acoustic environment reading with that? It's useless. Many of the features are blocked out unless you purchase them individually. WHAT?!?!?!? I paid $9.99 already and got nothing?!?!? The dock mic feature is supposed to enable the use of an exterior mic via the dock port. Doesn't work. It was picking up sound from the built in mic still. Don't waste $10 bucks of your earned money on trickery such as this app. You'll have to spend and additional $50 on in-app purchases to get the features listed in the description.

The absolute best audio analyzer overall in the iTunes Store!. It used to be that there were two very serious audio / acoustic analyzer iOS apps available on the iTunes Store platform, i.e., Studio Six Digitals (S6D) AudioTools and Faber Acoustical, LLC’s various iOS apps. I have purchased all of these with every single option enabled as well as the “Pro” versions of Faber Acoustical’s iOS apps too. However, approximately one year ago, Faber Acoustical has opted to go to a “subscription” type of iTunes Store model which I can and will not support. That doesn’t mean the latter’s iOS products are now bad per se, but it does mean that if you want to “own” forever your iTunes Store iOS apps purchases, and you’re serious about having a high quality audio / acoustics analyzer - - Now there only S6D’s AudioTools remaining - - It stands alone in terms of being a professional grade audio / acoustics iOS app (especially when coupled with S6D’s hardware, e.g., iAudioInterface2 and the iPrecisionMic). For those of you whom have panned S6D’s in-app purchase model for being a “bait and switch” please look around at commercial grade audio analyzers / software and stop complaining! I also own the Prism Sound dScope III audio analyzer as well as the RTX6001 audio analyzer & the Virtins MI Pro software with all add-on modules, (and a CLIO v11 FC QC analyzer, etc.). The cost of the latter audio analyzers is MUCH higher than the purchase price of the iAudioInterface2, the iPrecisioniMic and the S6D’s AudioTools plus all add-on modules combined. It can’t do everything the latter audio analyzers do, but it can do MANY of their measurements and it is FAR more portable in nature. So stop complaining about the in-app purchases and expecting to get all of S6D’s R&D for $10 with their constant fixes for whenever Apple decides to upgrade the iOS version, etc. If you’re deadly serious about having a great and portable audio / acoustics analyzer, look no further than S6D’s hardware / AudioTools combination IMO. Keep up the GREAT WORK Andrew!!! P.S. I am not affiliated in any way with S6D / Andrew Smith (owner of S6D) but I love their iOS apps and hardware products and I truly appreciate how they constantly improve their products with both new features as well as updates for whenever Apple decides to release a new iOS version too. If they were to move to a “subscription based model,” as has Faber Acoustical, LLC, I will of course change my review, but I don’t believe this will occur.

Very useful app. I work as a sound mixer. I've use this app on an iPod touch along with a blue mikey to calibrate my 5.1 set up. Did a great job. I also use the tone generator to quickly and accurately find the exact frequency I'm trying to elliminate in a dialog track. Works really great for that. I'm sure I'll continue to find more uses for this app

Upset about all the pay options. Darn. i paid $20 for this to access the FFT capability only to find that is a $20 additional item. From the way they list the "included" capabilities in the app description, I missed the very subtle change from included to optional items. Read the description CLOSELY to see if you are getting the modules you want. For every included option there seems to be 5 that you have to pay more for. Too bad. There are good capabilities here. Geeks gone sour on their use of in-app purchases to the point of being obnoxious. Jim

It’s a scam.. Most of the apps need to be purchased separately

Bundled tools did the job. This bundle of tools proved to be useful for me right away. I attended the opening night of an amateur play. Some of the actors (kids ranging in ages 6 to 18) did not have strong voices and were not able to project their voices beyond the front rows. The sound tech (a volunteer) tried to boost gain, but the mic placement resulted in serious feedback. I have a trained ear and could tell that the feedback was isolated to certain frequencies -- but exactly which ones? I added AudioTools to my iPhone 3G, and before the next performance I asked the sound tech to deliberately boost gain and induce feedback. The RTA tool instantly showed us the offending frequency bands. We notched back the EQ until response became flat. Also, I used the SPL meter before and after adjusting EQ and gain to confirm that vocals achieved a +12dB boost with no hint of feedback. The remaining performances were a hit! Something else; I have done a real-time side-by-side comparison with AudioTools' SPL and my standalone digital SPL meter . At all levels the readings are within 0.1 dB -- which for my purposes is 'identical' given that the readings flicker at that precision anyhow. I like how the developer has organized the tools and optional in-app purchases. If/when I need the extra capabilities I'm confident their value will be good, too. I'm glad to have these convenient tools in my kit!

This thing needs an update. I used the iPhone rta made by these guys on a weekly basis. I felt it was really accurate. Bought an iPad to do my mixing, went straight to the guys I trusted. This thing is terrible. 1.) it doesn't pick up anything under 100Hz that well. 2.) gives you an inaccurate depiction of the dB your running (A weight or C weight). I ran some test over my system and compared this app side by side with iPhone rta app I'd been using. The iPhone said around 90 dB(C) with my low end Hz running louder than my high end Hz while the iPad rta app was giving me an overall volume lever reading of around 80 dB(C) and telling me that any frequency below 100 Hz was running at a volume of around 20-30 dB(C).?? I dont trust this app like I do my iPhone rta (which I've been using for a good 5-6 months. If they update it with a correct algorithm I'd use it but until then I guess I'll go back to the iPhone app. :-/

A "Real" Tool.... I'm an acoustic professional and I find this app a valuable 'real' tool. I've done noise analysis on HVAC system, background noise and hunted down room modal problems with my iPad and iPhone since I purchased this great suite. The SPL meter is quite accurate with the built in iPhone mic (I have a 3G now waiting on 5) and the RTA is versatile and fun to use. I use TEF and Fuzzmeasure on my laptops and I can't wait for the 2 Channel SMAART package to work with the new interface. This is really an exciting suite and by adding a small interface and measurement mic to my bag Audiotools allows me to have all this functionality with me all the time! This is a winner. Studio Six is a responsive company. They send out regular updates via email and they respond to questions right away. There are a few bugs and it's not the best solution for saving data, but for in-the-field measurements and diagnoses this app rocks. Being totally cable free (using the internal mic) is very liberating and convenient for many of the field measurements we need to make.

Wonderful App. I have used Audio Tools for quite some time. Some might be upset about the extra expense for in application purchases but I am not. Not everyone wants all the amazing features available in this app. Allowing us to purchase the features we want and will use is a very smart way to go. Anyone who knows the effort to develop all these various acoustic applications completely understands this. I absolutely love this application and highly recommend it to anyone I retested in acoustics.

Amazing app!. Love the functionality and usability which this app offers. Hands down, the best tool on the iOS platform for audio professionals. Accurate (given the limitations of the onboard mic, external interface makes all the difference!) and detailed, great reports and relatively easy to figure out interface make it a great tool!

Awesome App for acoustic engineering. Love this app

I have been using it for a while.... ...but now I have no access to the forum help or the ability to restore my purchases from previous update. I cannot access the FAQ either. Still works but not good enough. I get a window saying I am not connected to the Internet. If this post gets through, than tat window would be false.

Functionality awesome, appearance cartoonish. As far as function goes its great for audio tools on a phone. I just updated to the new "more professional" look and I have to say its really cartoonish and unprofessional looking. I really don't get this push for icons and buttons that are flat and have no depth. To me it's visually unappealing. I will not be updating my other devices until they go back to a real professional looking interface.

Excellent features, accuracy, and support.. So far, I have only made use of the LARSA tool in this suite, but the attention to detail is very high, so I get the impression that everything in this suite of tools is just as good. The author, Andrew Smith, was also very responsive and helpful in email when I asked some usage questions. The LARSA tool is amazing. My goal was to find out if my car stereo had any need for EQ correction because I thought I could hear an unnatural peak at 1.5k. So I was able to pair my iPhone with the car stereo so that the LARSA app played a frequency sweep through the car speakers, while the app simultaneously listened to the resulting sweep with its internal mic, and then graphed it. Sure enough, there was the proof: a hump at 1.5k in the graph, about 8db’s worth. I could then easily make a parametric EQ correction of the exact amount, and now it sounds much better. I was able to do all this immediately without any special configuration, it just worked out of the box. The author has posted about how the app turns off some of the built in filtering and limiting on the iPhone’s internal mic so that it gets an accurate response. For adjusting my car stereo, this was enough for my needs, but it’s great to know that I could also attach a calibrated microphone and get and even more accurate result. The app lets you run multiple tests (up to 8 of them I think) and compare them or average them together. I used this to get multiple samples from different listening positions in the car. It also lets you save and recall multiple test runs, adjust for latency, and other things. Very feature-complete. Final note: the LARSA tool is among the “in-app-purchases”, so you will need to buy it separately, though it has a 7-day trial built in. I think you can also buy it “a la carte”, or with other bundles, in the App Store.

Amazing Value. This suite of apps is a steal for any serious audio engineer. I am in the process of replacing well over $4000 worth of test gear with this app and the iAudiointerface2 (available soon I hope!). Total investment including an iPad will be less than $1000 and the app will do way more than my much more expensive RTA. Thanks for the great app!
