What is missionclock app? Keep up-to-date with space launches from NASA and other agencies around the world with MissionClock for your iPhone or iPod Touch.

MissionClock shows you a real-time countdown clock for upcoming missions, as well as information about missions that are currently underway. You can see major launch and ascent events as they happen, and receive alerts when mission conditions change.

Features:

• Gorgeous, at-a-glance countdown information
• T-clock and L-clock information
• Countdown holds
• Hold time remaining
• Current and significant event times displayed in multiple time zones
• Detailed mission event lists
• Time to/since each event

MissionClock’s main view shows the current time in three time zones (yours, UTC, and the mission’s). It shows the T-clock, including pauses for built-in launch holds, and the L-clock, letting you know how much real time remains before launch. For missions that have already launched, MissionClock will show you the Mission Elapsed Time (MET).

The MissionClock staff regularly compile space mission information from a variety of sources including contacts within NASA, and collect them on our servers. MissionClock is automatically updated with changes, so you stay informed.

Not accurate. Cool to see the procedures listed in order but it was 13 seconds ahead on the launch I watched.

Great detail. It's been stable for me.. General tip for all apps if you're seeing app crashes, update your iOS. I haven't seen crashes with this app, and I keep iOS up to date. I've been showing some NASA TV to my daughter, and she is fascinated with the missions and how they do work on the ISS. This app brings another level of detail, with the event listings and times of each event for each mission. The info is updated regularly. It's great that some recent past missions are listed too. The information seems pretty technical, obviously with some NASA jargon, but it's actually fun to see that. One great thing is the push notifications for major events. If there's a scrub or other big news it alerts you even if you aren't running the app at the time. Contrary to what one review stated, this app is definitely tracking all the major launches.

Worth every penny!. The app delivers on everything it promises. Notifications of aborts come within seconds of the abort. I would second the other reviewers that would like to hear the audio and for push notifications before major events, such as launches or things slamming into the moon (an hour, half hour?). Awesome app - would buy again even as is!

Great app! Lots of info. It tells me everything that is happening and when new countdowns begin they automatically are added to my list to watch. Really cool stuff.

Absolutely amazing!!!!. This app is totally awesome! So much detailed information on every current, future and past missions. Love the UI and accuracy of the countdowns. I highly recommend this app to all space enthusiasts!

Love it. I love this app. It's so spot on! Watching the launch of the Ares I-X and all the Holdings are spot on! All information is update right in front of your eyes, while NASA are saying it on NASA tv. Brilliant.

Review. Looks great and very handy to have as will be in the cape area for STS-130 launch period.

Update fixed crash problem - thanks!!!. I am revising my review of this app. On 1.0.2 I experienced a crash, reported the crash and the developer was quick to fix it. I am quite pleased and the app works as promised. Kudos to a very responsive developer and a way cool app for space buffs like me!

Sweet!!!. Great Data & Interface. Easy to use. Thanks!

Okay but needs more frequent database updates. I really like the concept of the app. While the information isn't exactly presented in the prettiest format possible, there's lots of good timing information there, including specific events within the countdown and after liftoff. However, an app like this is made or broken by the quality and accuracy of its data. Right now, the upcoming TurkmenAlem satellite launch with Falcon 9 is listed as launching in a bit over two days from now. However, the date for this launch was pushed three days back, and this push was made several days ago. I don't expect instant updates, but this launch is the next one on the global manifest! Hopefully the author finds a way to more reliably keep the database in order, otherwise this app is useless. Another recommendation to the developer... I would love a way to enter a clock view on the app where the main countdown dominates the screen. I think events would still deserve a spot somewhere, probably the mission name and maybe some other basic info too.... but clock dominating. Just put it on the wishlist. Glad someone finally made an app like this!

Questioning reliability. Shows STS-130 in orbit and gives altitude, speed, and distance. However as of this moment, the shuttle is still on the launch pad! I think this app is more gimmick and bells and whistles then actually functions. One launch a few months ago, countdown clock showed T- minus 15 seconds, as I watched the shuttle come over the tree tops. Needs improving for sure.

Absolutely fantastic!!. Worth every penny if you're a space enthusiast. Gives you a shuttle load of information that you cannot get elsewhere. You know exactly what is going on each minute. Including when the astronauts are sleeping.

Disappointing - Not Complete - Do not buy. Does not track all launches. App not updated since January 2012. Waste of money, do not buy. I want a refund and an app that lists ALL launches with push updates.

Use caution. Info may not be current.. The last Mission Clock entry for SpaceX was wrong. That launch didn't occur for another week. And the current SpaceX launch event listed by Mission Clock is also wrong. That launch has been pushed back almost two weeks.

Superb - Best $5 You'll Spend on Any App. I purchased MissionClock prior to traveling to Florida to see my first shuttle launch: the STS-130 Endeavour launch in February 2010. I was hesitant to spend $5 on the app but after I did and used it to follow along with the countdown clock I realized it was the best $5 I've ever spent for an app. If you are a space launch junkie, get this app. You won't regret it!

Great app lacking an update. Overall a great app. I live in Central Florida and routinely use this app to track the launch schedule before going outside to watch the rockets streak across the sky. Noticed some launches slightly off or missing lately. Also desperately needs to be upgraded to support the iPhone 5 resolution.

Mission Clock is brilliant!. I work at Johnson Space Center and, when I am not in Mission Control, I am frequently on the go during missions briefing managers and decision makers on what's going on during flight. Of course NASA has our own 'official' events log, but Mission Clock gives me nearly flawless information in my pocket about what events are happening and when. This app helps keep me in the know and is indispensible!

His. H

Working Again. It appears to be actively maintained again. Such a great app.

Please update for iPhone 5!. This is an awesome app, I just wish it supported the iPhone 5 screen, please update!

Awesome update!. Mission Clock was always a great app, it is much faster now. Good job by the developer, keep it up!

Flight controllers love this app!. Very handy.

Timely and detailed. Worth the price for the up-to-the-second updates for space missions with push alerts. The amount of detail is second to none. The app is a snappy performer and has an attractive interface.

Awesome!. Great Application. Slick UI makes it easy to find and track shuttle launches.

Owner. This one slick app. If u like NASA stuff this is the app to have.

A must have for any space or tech enthusiast. This application provides up to date information for manned and unmanned rocket launches from across the globe. Where information is available each step in the launch sequence. For example during the shuttle program the countdown for auto sequence start (where the handoff is made from the ground conputers to the space shuttle to control the countdown) happens at 31 seconds prior to liftoff also has it own countdown. Going forward this information may not be as available with commercial companies as with NASA but I'm sure the developer will give his best attempt. It also includes many features that help keep information as up to date as possible like getting the exact time an date from servers on the Internet using NTP. It includes push alerts so you don't have to be in the app to see important data such as a lunch delays as soon as the information is published. It is obvious the developer puts a lot of time and effort into this application but not just for the initial release but updates regularly when any kind of bugs are found. The developer is also extremely helpful and responsive with any kind of issues. (No this is not a paid or sponsored review, just a happy customer)

Disappointing time-keeping.... The thing this app should do best is keep track of event times (IMO). That is does poorly. A very current example is the GRAIL LOI timing. at a little less than 4 hours from now will be the LOI for GRAIL-A and yet MissionClock is shown -10:44:04. Disappointing and way past the actual event time. Now it is showing launch 19hours ago of Afspc 4 that has not happened .. Useless.

Excellent - spot on!. Used this app today for the STS-132 launch watching from the bank of the Indian River in Titusville. The countdown was within a second of perfect - it's a bit hard to tell the exact moment of liftoff that far away. I called out the countdown for the folks near me - they were impressed at the nearly perfect timing and the other pieces of information being supplied. This $5 really enhanced the launch experience for 30-40 people. Nice work by this developer. Thanks!

Great app!. Fun app and functions well. It's great for my kids who are interested in the space program.

Wonderful Addition to the Space Enthusiast's Arsenal. If you are at all interested in the space program, then this is an application you must buy. When this application is running, it displays detailed information about upcoming events in active space missions. It's a great way to keep tabs on active missions and to be aware of what launches are coming up. There are so many launches that simply don't get press coverage, and this app allows you to stay up to date on what's going on with with the space program.

This app put me in Mission Control. Being able to see exactly what all our space missions are doing in real time is SO COOL!

Great app.. Overall this app is excellent, and gives updates right when they are released via a nice alert system. Everything is very clear & easy to follow. I'm very happy with it.

What a great app!. I got it just in time for the launch of STS-128. It is worth every penny!

Go at throttle up!. I've been using this app for a few weeks prior to the launch of STS-132. I attended the STS-132 tweetup which allowed participants to tour KSC a day prior to launch. On our tour bus, I happened to sit behind the developer of this app who you could tell was very passionate about this project. I enjoyed meeting him and learning more about his wonderful app. Great UI and it even offers push notifications. This is a must-have for any space geek.

Accuracy questionable. First few launches was dead on perfect. Last two for Sts 130 and goes p launches have been slow updating after delays.

Awesome App!!!. I was at the launch of STS-131 (Discovery) and this app had the count to the EXACT SECOND!!!

When it works it. The software crashes constantly, even after the update that fixed the crashing. I don't have any app on my device that crashes this often. That said the information it displays is great. Why all the crashing, why can't this be fixed. I was at the STS133 launch and many people asked for the name of the app that I had on my phone. I could not recommend it , as when I went to start it it crashed 5 times in a row before actually starting. Some demo huh. For $5 this really should work but it doesn't most of the time. To the developer Please fix the crashing as you said you had in the last update!!!

Most important part is broken!. Changing the mission with which the clock part of the app is assocoated is highly non-intuitive. Other than that, when you can baeat it into showing the clock you want, it's pretty cool. The countdown event view is nice.

Ryan Llewellyn. I have been interested in NASA my whole life this app keeps up with everything I hope they update soon I also think NASA will find a way to the app going

Mission Clock Rocks. If you love NASA and all things rockets, you will really enjoy Mission Clock. It pops up and give you launch and countdown details, real time! Very, very cool!

Crashes everytime it tries to get data. Looks like a nice app but crashes everytime. Please fix or refund me. I have a 3rd gen iPod touch with all latest updates

Great app, live updates. This app is well maintained and updates come down often. I was sitting in a hotel room last night and to my surprise a notification that the shuttle was landing popped up on my screen so I watched the last 25 mins of the landing live. Many other good features but it's really too much to type

App continuously crashes. I have not been able to get the app to stay open since iOS 11 deployment. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app but click to open and it automatically crashes. :-(

simple and elegant. A simple and elegant way to stay up to date with Space Shuttle activities. I love the nicely formatted event lists and easy to read timers. This app puts you right in the action with detailed event lists for each mission. I have used it to track STS-127 so far and I am looking forward to STS-128 soon!

Love this app. This is an absolutly amazing app. I followed along with the STS-129 launch. So much fun. One request though, have some kind of explanation for, or definitions of the events. Thanks again, highly recommend this to all.

Great idea, although.... This is a great idea and everything, but I'm having an issue (not sure if anyone else is) where the clock doesn't count down unless you tap the screen. My personal opinion, don't waste five dollars on this app. This is a bit of an issue, but it seems to work - for now.

One of a kind app for any space junkie. I've enjoyed using this app for a couple of years now. I use it to keep up with launch activities worldwide, since I am a space nut and live watching rocket launches. The developer is super friendly and is actively involved with application development and maintaining the supporting systems. I would have missed a number if launches if I didn't have this app. Thanks!

Loved it, until recently. I've used this app for about 2 years and I work on cape Canaveral Air Force station apart of the launch team. The clocks have been dead on for most launches but lately they haven't been updated after holds or slips. Which makes the app not useable. I'd love to see someone change this if not I'll find something else.

Very Cool! More detail than you probably every need.... This is slick. All sorts of details. I was really hesitant to spend the $4.99 for it but I had heard that he specifically has to make changes by hand as NASA changes timelines. This has PUSH alerts, that means you can get them even when not running the application. And it looks like it keeps track of the push alerts so you can view them later, which is very nice. I'm a pretty techie guy but the info is pretty geeky even for me. It needs a "basic mode" for the less geeky, but interested people. (Honestly, I'd probably use that mode). Two complaints: 1) Civilians don’t necessarily know when day 234 of the year is, an option to turn on “normal” dates would be awesome. 2) In the application, the mission clock pages needs to be linked to the missions page. Clicking the clock title (or something) should take me to the mission page for that mission and clicking the events at the bottom of a clock page should take me to all the events for that mission. They're all there already, they're just too many clicks away. 3) When I get an alert/message I want to be able to click on it and get the clock to quickly pop up. Sometimes the name in the alert doesn’t match the name in the list of missions. There's info on past missions too. The only difference is the clocks aren't ticking.... Maybe some definitions for some of the information or links for more info on the launches (more than what's the overview page). Links to NASA TV to watch? To stream audio?

This is exactly the app I was looking for!. I love it, I now get at-a-glance info on all space missions. I've always been a space junkie, and spend a lot of time trying to find this info out. Now I never miss a launch or EVA. I think I'll be using this app a lot. Well worth it!

Great little app with great support. Great for syncing with televised launch missions so you don't miss a thing. Was missing for a short while due to scheduling problems, it's now up to date and easier to use. If you're a space exploration fan and you like watching launches, download this app.

Just fantastic!. Great application! First off, I'm on Australia, so when NASA release dates and times, it's hard for me to know when exactly to log onto ntv, because it displays in local time, I know when, this app is so in depth, very detail, has a count down for everything, and inside of the count down, there's more cound downs for example how long until the fuel goes in, etc. Love it awesome app.

Great app, wrong launch date for Landsat 9. The app says Landsat is launching in 13 hours but it is actually launching in 4 days Other than that, fantastic one-of-a-kind app!

Must have. This is for sure the best app that a space fan could ever have because it gives you launch updates current missions, past missions and has the T- clock along the L- with crew activities aborts and much more!

Good app but notifications not working. Was using this app religiously until iOS 9. The notifications don't work at all anymore. Even after deleting and restoring the app. Once this is fixed I'd definitely give it a 5 *

Missing flights. Several more launches missed. It appears that the app is no longer supported.
