Nanoloop App Description & Overview

What is nanoloop app? Nanoloop combines sequencer, synthesizer and sampler in one package. It provides all functions for creating electronic music from scratch.

- Easy to use sequencer, suitable for rhythm and melody
- Automatisation of all parameters
- 8 channels, each can be synth or sampler
- 8 patterns per channel
- Sample via microphone
- Re-sample
- Polyphonic FM-, PWM- and noise synth
- Song editor with loop function
- Send and receive projects via e-mail
- WAV export
- Sharing projects and audio in file sharing apps like Dropbox is possible when these apps are installed.
- MIDI sync with other devices

The Synth

Nanoloop's FM synth offers a maximum of flexibility within a small set of parameters. It comes with a stereo modulator detune effect and covers the typical clean bells and Rhodes-like sounds, spheric pads, thick beats and basses.

The Sequencer

The stepsequencer visualises the rhythmic structure in a compact 4x4 square matrix, making it very easy to lay out patterns.

The Sampler

Besides A/D envelope, loop function, start offset, tune and fine tune, the puristic sampler comes without effects. You can record up to 6 seconds via microphone or copy samples via iTunes.

Share

With nanoloop for iPhone, you can send your saved projects to other nanoloop users and your own PC via e-mail. If nanoloop is installed on the recipient's iPhone / iPod, she/he can simply tap on the file name in the received e-mail to start nanoloop and import the attached file so that it is available for editing. This makes collaboration very easy, multiple users around the world can work on the same project by simply e-mailing the file.

Export

Songs can be exported to a WAV file that is accessible via iTunes (simply drag & drop files in finder). The exported file is also copied to the clipboard so that it can be pasted in other apps that support pasting audio. If a file sharing app like Dropbox is installed, you can upload the file there.

Awesome Music App. I just love this unique Minimal Music Composing/Sound Design tool. Aesthetically, is just beautiful how every tool is design. This will offer you months of experimenting with all aspects of Sound, sound design and music making. Whatever sounds are in your head, there's a chance that you'll be able to make it a reality with NanoLoop. You can sample anything you want, then, edit, chop it, form layers of sounds, apply some sound shaping parameters and that's it, you have just did your first Sound Design project. I had to give it a WELL DESERVED 5 Can't wait for future updates.

Love this new version!!. Oliver has done a fantastic job turning his classic Gameboy synth cart/game into an easy to use app. Plus this one has some great new features. My 1st gen iTouch doesn't record audio so I haven't used the sampler to record, but i'm looking forward to importing some short clips and playing with those, too! -- looking forward to song imports from a new forum :)

Thanks for the update!. Been using for a long time. I was afraid it was abandoned. It is naaaaht!

My favorite inspiration tool on iOS. Nanoloop is the first app I pull up when I want to get something down quickly. What I love about this app is that I don’t need much of an idea to get started, just start plopping triggers on the grid and start tweaking parameters and I’ve got something I like in no time. What surprised me most about this app was how deep it is. It can be a bit confusing at first, but if you spend some time with the interface, things will start to click and you’ll realize how well thought out this app is. It keeps you focused with out being bogged down my too many options. However, the step-based parameters offer a whole world of sonic options. My only wish is that I could use this send the midi out from Nanoloop to other synths or at least play nanoloop within AUM. Still this app is an amazing standalone groovebox optimized for the iPhone.

Frustrating. It’s really cool when it doesn’t crash, which is about 50% of the time. After that, you have to open it about 15 times before it will stop crashing for awhile.

Still the best. Still one of the simplest, more powerful and most effective sequencers out there. Love nano loop.

Under-appreciated Gem!. I love this sequencer! The ability to record and mangle your own samples is great, and the inclusion of save and export functions is also a biiiig plus. A bit cryptic at first but really terrific once you figure it out. The help file is useful... Just good stuff. The Loop function gets a little wonky if you change the Sequence Length, so there is room for improvement. Give it a shot!

it's the best. don't let the spare interface fool you. it's very deep. you can spend hours exploring sound & be deeply engaged the whole time. do nano-loop, not drugs.

Ultra Minimal // Maximal Results. From every angle Nanoloop is a slam-dunk of minimal beauty (genius UI) and unlimited potential (user samples x brilliant sequencing capability). There's a small learning curve to get acquainted with the concept and navigation preceding an absolutely lovely Nanoloop workflow. Whether creating with the apps internal synthesis or imported samples (or a combination of both) exact ideas can be executed and in addition I've never experienced more natural innovation and happy accidental "lightning in a bottle" moments as when using Nanoloop (and I currently own almost every iOS sequencer there is). Beautiful!

DO NOT BUY. This is without doubt the worst sounding and least useful sequencer/synth I have ever encountered.

Amazing idea creator!. Very small learning curve for people that understand ADSR and synthesis / sequencing at a general level. Getting “quick” at plowing down an idea on this app takes practice as you develop the muscle memory, like any musical interface. Love everything about this app! It provides just enough to feel basic while surpassing something like a “toy”. This app is capable of generating full length, semi-mixed tracks. Or layers. Or one-shots. Really capable. Until you want to export. EASIEST, SIMPLEST thing is just to save your .nan files for recall within the app, ignore every other glitchy option, AND RECORD SOUNDS OUT THE IPHONE > dongle > auxiliary > 1/4” mono splitters > Interface/DAW/8track/vhs/whatever lol p Maybe an in-depth guide to exporting could help. Please though an update with levels & easier exporting would be so appreciated. I bought this and gifted it to someone, who doesn’t care too much because of how difficult it is to export on new iPhones. Love u guys and would gladly py for this app again if the end-game features worked as advertised. 💖 I swear I’ll press the same save twice and this app will output .nan usually with the occasional successfully sequenced .wav.

Simple but great synth/sampler with a rich history. It’s great to see this available on iOS. Nanoloop has a long history that AFAIK started with Gameboy and now available on iOS. It’s a unique music synth with sample loading support and once you get used to the work, makes you create really interesting music and works well for live music making. It’s deceptively powerful. Glad to see it getting updated to work with new iOS releases and hope that continues. I still have my game boy cartridge from decades ago and every now and then start it up on my game boy - touch screen is nice, betters are better!

Grid. Nice little step sequencer in a grid pattern. With the included parameters, one is able to make a bunch of groovy and grainy sounds. Excited to see how this thing progresses...wouldn't mind seeing some funky effects, more parameters for sound manipulation, and the ability to more easily spit out each section as a separate sound to your computer. A mixer and more live features might be cool too. How about Nanoloop Pro? As is, it's still great and an awesome bargain for the current price.

Perfect.. Took me about 20 minutes of poking around the app to see what it could do until I finally read the documentation, which clarified everything. Once you have a solid understanding of how to navigate the app and adjust things, making loops is simple and fun. And with all that you can do to really tweak the sound, output to midi, and export audio, it’s definitely worth the money. Addicted.

Best. Favorite iOS music app of all time. Insanely powerful and fun. For those who know.

Easy Transition. After playing with it for a couple of hours I could tell this app had a lot of potential. It's all made by a very skilled developer devoted to his users. Coming from NL 2.3 on gba made it really easy to learn how to use it. The simplistic style and power this app and it's predecessors on gameboy have are unmatchable. Definitely check out their forums.

Best iPhone Instrument. Thanks to the super-smart UI, the most usable “all-in-one” groovebox I’ve found for iPhone. Seems limited at first, but each of the sound modules has real depth! Comparison to the Elektron workflow is accurate, as some have stated before. My one gripe / feature request would be to improve the “looping” mode in the sequencer. I’m much more likely to want a 2-bar pattern than a 4-bar. And maybe I want 3 or 5? I know I can copy paste, but this doesn’t really work for live performance / kills the vibe when composing. A simple slider interface for number of bars (1-8) would be much better. Also while we’re complaining, maybe a filter for the sampler module? ;-) pretty please (would make sampling straight from the mic a lot more usable). Again, lovvvve this app, literally making an album entirely in nanoloop right now!

Saving doesn’t work on iPhone. The app installs and functions on my iPhone and functions just fine, tricking me into putting time into making a song, but all file system functions fail silently. It works on my ipad but quietly does nothing on iPhone. Meaning that making a song is pointless.

Worth $9.99 easily.. Great app. I didn't even have to check out the manual to figure out the mechanics, but having it in the app for reference is great. I only wish the Gameboy version wasn't so expensive so those of us on a more limited budget could afford them, but this is every bit as versatile only lacking the GB nostalgia.

Best and most powerful app around. I've been tinkering with Nanoloop for more than 5 years on a gameboy. I downloaded it on iPhone and soon realized this is perfect for the iPad. The minimal UI allows it to scale up to iPad size without looking like garbage. The experience on iPad is second to none and exponentially increased my understanding of the program. I'm a developer and Nanoloop is my touchstone.

I prefer LSDJ but.... I prefer to use LSDJ when making chiptunes, but since there isn't an app for that, I use nanoloop! It's very fun to play around with everything in this app and it is an endless source of fun when l am bored. It is definitely worth two bucks too. Those sample songs sure are catchy too!

Perfect! My favorite!. I have had a ton of fun and written a lot of music with this app. I've had it over 3 years and I still regularly use it to play and to write.

This app is fantastic. The only thing I can think to add is more automation; the envelope feature for notes is an astounding feature for an iPhone app, and it makes me want more. I want more taps to lead to adjustments for all aspects of synth instruments. Also, and more important , is the sampled instruments: you can only edit the waveform so much. It's severely limited, namely in the cropping function. After a second or so, you can't crop past it. These are my only gripes with this nearly perfect app. I rediscovered it today and can't wait to use it again.

Only one small issue. Nanoloop is so much fun to work with, given its limitations and minimal interface. I have but one issue with Nanoloop. For some inexplicable reason, the app emits no sound if the mute switch is flipped on. That switch mutes your incoming calls and alerts. I’ve plays a small handful of games that work this way too. I don’t recall which ones because I don’t play them any longer. I stick with Nanoloop only because it’s such a fantastic music tool. This little itch under my skin drops a 5 Star rating down to 3 stars. Some day, I would really like to amend this rant and change the rating. Sincerely, Mr. Annoyed-when-my-phone-rings-at-the-office-because-I-forgot-to-flip-the-mute-switch-back-after-using-Nanoloop-before-I-went-in-to-work

Thank you for the Bluetooth support!. This is the ONLY app I use to make music. I don’t claim to be a professional musician but this app is truly versatile, and for a reasonable price. Perfect for minimalistic beats and extremely easy as an entry-level musician to get the hang of sculpting a song. The creators regularly update the app and have addressed and fixed some issues I had with previous versions. Highly recommend this app.

Refined Minimalist Music-Maker. This is a surprisingly refined little music creation tool. Once you learn the interface, it's very usable even on a small screen, unlike the majority of other iOS music apps. This would be the first app I'd recommend to any "mobile musician".

Great!. I got this app when it was on a super sale for only $1 and that alone deserves 5 stars. Other than that, I love the features this has. A sampler AND a synthesizer in one package; not to mention a great sequencer as well! For fans of audio trackers and chiptunes, this is the app for you!

So so good! Instabuy. Wonderful sounding. Great UI, thoughtful gestures. The addition of MIDI sync is fluting great. AB support would complete the package. Works equally well on iPhone and iPad. Not many apps - even significantly simpler apps - can say that. Get it, sample something, and definitely read the manual/watch some tutorials. There is a lot of hidden wonderful in here.

My favorite music app!. This thing is so much fun, I was so sad to see the sample recording feature broken with OS updates but looks like they updated to fix it, YAY!!! A little bug exists where when I first open it, it comes out of the earphone rather than the speaker. Thanks for not forgetting us! Update: New version seems to have fixed everything and is a delight. This is likely my favorite app for mobile music creativity. Couldn’t possibly recommend this enough, not just for chiptune stuff, the sampler is in a world of it’s own!!

Awesome, but please make it universal. Creative, well thought out, if idiosyncratic and innovative music program worth your time and money. Unlike too many iOS programs, it's not a one trick pony and rewards time spent with it. It does have a distinctive sound, but it's easy enough to load into another program or even resample yourself to continue layering and develop interesting textures and timbres. Only complaint is I'd love to see the sharp pixels instead of blurriness when running 2x on the iPad.

Minimalistic but very good sounding. A new way to do sequences with 6 generators I was able to produce good sequences in short time Sound shaping parameters are very useful A tube drive is built in so increasing volume brings a nice tube effect to the mix, Swing function is good too As other apps in this category, this needs some better pattern editing such as transposing bar or pattern Adding more effects would help too Using colors and different aspects of ipad form factor would help with easy-of-use Also iPad display brings another dimension to user experience and that is not utilized. Like there could be on-display help when. A button Is pressed. I kept going to PDF to read instructions

Amazing. Had nanoloop for a while now and probably one of the greatest music making apps on iOS never had a problem easy to pick up and includes a tutorial in app too would buy again

Review about octaves and note length incorrect. The step editing is very deep. Nanoloop allows you to edit almost every parameter in each step. Octaves can be adjusted for every new 16 step sequence. This app has so much going on, and it takes a bit of time to learn it's true power.

Truly awesome. I've been playing around with this all day and I've put together some tracks that actually sound like music! And I did it all on my phone?! It's so easy to use!

a serious sequencer, synthesizer, tracker. I hate to use some obscure touch stones for describing this app, but if you are down with tracker interfaces, or event editors, or even roland x0x seqs, you will be comfortable here. A larger point is that this app was clearly developed with quite a bit of care for the touch interface. While some of the other sequencers found on iThing seem to have only been tested through the mouse interface, and simulator, Oliver has gone the extra mile to tweak on the device and make sure that the songs can actually be written directly on the device. There is also clearly thought put into what he left out. The music creation process, in particular the synthesizers have a really nice lack of features that let you jump quickly through potential sounds while not getting stuck on sounds that are not really that great. Oliver has also gone way beyond what is expected of the standard iThing dev in terms of putting out both bug releases and feature add ons super quick. He is extremely active on his forum and has been responding to all of the questions about the software that the users come up with. Take some time to surf through the forums if you need a reason to purchase the app, you can see that a nice little community is already developing around this app even in the short time it has been out.

Can’t record. Doesn’t ask for microphone permission. Really cool app, but I cannot record samples directly.

Incredible, Powerful, Simple and Free!. Such a beautiful minimal appearance! The app designer should get a prize for how much functionality is packed into an uncluttered and easy to use interface. Completely usable on my tiny iPhone without any difficulty. Rest assured that it’s not a toy, though. I actually prefer this to more full featured sequencers because of the all in one interface design in which all note parameters can be adjusted from the main grid. 👏👏 The learning curve was not too bad, even for me (I have the bad habit of refusing to look at any documentation). If there’s one tiny con, it’s that there is no way to get a satisfying drum sound easily, the ‘noise’ mode is okay for this, but a dedicated choice would have been nice. But ... for other instruments, it has both PWM and FM, and they can be layered! The decay shape is not changeable, but that would be another control, and perhaps it’s not worth it to clutter up such a clean interface. TLDR: Get it, spend some time with it, and you’ll love it!

really good. I like this sounds great pitch effects sound great nice looking user interface, able to make some drumnbass on this, awesome music program

Saving broken?. Loving the app so far, really dynamic synths and easy to pick up and sketch. I think the save feature is broken though, it keeps crashing when I hit the save menu.

small program of epic proportions. i had held out on buying cartidge versions of this for years due to the difficulty of saving and exporting song files, and am glad i did because this iOS version is absolutely flawless. simple yet deep interface allows for immediate fun music-making, or years of fiddling. I'm psyched to finally be making music with nanoloop

Even better than the original. Nanoloop is easily my favorite music making app for the iPhone (and I use it on my iPad too). The bass is fantastic and being able to record and play with samples from your microphone is great. At first I was expecting this to be a chiptuney emulator of original Nanoloop for Gameboy, but it's really a much more powerful synthesizer than that. The minimalist layout takes a little getting used to, but the help button is a great way to learn the apps navigation. One of my favorite features of Nanoloop is the ability to Nanoloop song files to friends. I've been mixing and trading songs with folks all over the world. There is also a great community on the Nanoloop forum and the developer has been constantly listening to feedback and improving the app. Side note: Nanoloop for Gameboy and GBA are very similar to Nanoloop for iPhone. This is a great way to easily dip your toes into chip music. I still use the iPhone version for all of my compositions, then port them over to Nanoloop 2.6 for my GBA.

Nice... Just a small issue. Very nice app, i actually want to get into making music whether for fun or maybe getting into it more in the future. The only problem however is that the app isnt making any sound for me anymore. Not sure if its a bug, already tried pressing all controls and making sure that nothing is muted but there is just no sound and so far, the app for me is unusable. Hope i can get help from this please 👍

Awesome app! But needs a few things.... Having trouble playing samples. I upload .wav files into file sharing through iTunes to nanoloop, but not all samples are available. I know you guys are working to fix this due to sample rates. They populate into the load browser, but do not play or create a waveform. Please fix! Also, can you guys add a sample slicer that chops to pads? Doesn’t have to time-stretch. But I think this would be an awesome addition to nanoloop.

Superior and superb. There is no better piece of music creation software available for iOS. The minimalist aesthetics lend themselves perfectly to pure invention. The app is intuitive, elegant, and essential. Here's looking forward to an update to include the expanded real estate of the iPhone 5...

Used for professional music. I love this app. I stumbled across Henry Homesweet and nanoloop for Gameboy, but the cartridge was sold out when I wanted to buy it. I bought this app instead, and even though it is different from the Gameboy versions, it was well-worth my money. I use it to create professional songs as an indie artist, and I solo in my friend's band with it. While the Gameboy version has its class and mood, the iPhone version does not disappoint.

Crashes on launch after changing the volume. Would love to use the app but can’t. Doesn’t look like it’s maintained, either, so I don’t have high hopes for this getting fixed.

Too retro and minimal for me. Also, iPad refused to access microphone so no sampling possible. Very fiddle and MIDI sounding. There’s way to much great tech available to have patience with something like this. Kudos to Doc Pop for making an explanation video... I get exactly what the app does even though I can’t get it to sample. Hard pass.

Phenomenal!. Nanoloop is a brilliant chip tunes/minimalist music app! For chiptunes I’ve been using LSDJ for the gameboy and MSSIAH for the C64 and nanoloop on the iPhone is a formidable companion. It is capable of excellent lofi sampling and sample manipulation, Simple FM synthesis ,Simple pulse wave based sounds, 8 and 16-Bit noise etc. but the real power comes from the sequencer, essentially you modulate every parameter per step which is very similar to the unparalleled Elektron sequencers! In fact I’m currently running it though my octatrack for sampling and processing. The possibilities are endless and the UI is genius. If you are already into or curious about creating chiptune/lofi music this app is a no brainer! It’s incredibly fun and I couldn’t recommend it more!

Limited. Navigation between patterns and what instrument those patterns should be is a huge pain. Also the location of the play button on a different screen then the pattern editor is kinda goofy. Not all bad, the sounds nanoloop puts out are pretty good and app runs quick and smooth even on my 3G. Maybe lower the price a bit or modify how instruments are assigned to patterns. Oh and song mode is pretty straight forward and predictable, a big plus.

Cannot open files (crashes); all instruments are the same. I've bee using nanoloop for almost a year now (love it!), but this recent update is causing some issues for me in iOS 4.3.1. (Perhaps these issues don't occur in iOS 5, but I don't know.) When I press "open", the app crashes. In addition, all of the instruments (for lack of a better name, perhaps "synths") are named "...", have the same defaults (even clap), and act exactly the same (even clap). The new icon's nice, though!

Excellent. THIS IS GREAT. I love it so much. I have a big studio, mostly analogue synths, but god I love this. THANK YOU! New design is great! ... and finally MIDI!!!! Great work! You are great Mr. Nanoloop. Live long & prosper. Audiobus support in the future please :)

Soundcloud. All that is missing is the ability to upload directly to soundcloud.

tempted to say this is the best version of nanoloop.. tempted to say this is the best version of nanoloop.. i own nl1 & 2. ios ver is so much fun! sampler is amazing!!

Amazing. Very awesome! Really great for getting ideas down quickly, and also as a live improvisation tool. Simple enough to learn in 5 mins, yet powerful enough to create a diverse range of sounds.

Missing a couple features!. Great app, but please add the ability to export stems and not only just the master mix!

Dear Nano Loop team;. Thank you. Keep up the good work.

Must have. Must have for any lover if lofi or chiptune. So easy to use! Powerful sampler and synth

WOW! Thank you Oliver for the FAST fix!!. Phew! Thank goodness - the latest update has repaired 'Nanoloop' on my iPad Air (iOS 7.0.4) and all is well in the universe again. I'm not kidding! - that's how very important to me this App actually has become! To say that I love it is an understatement of biblical proportions! I cannot thank you enough Oliver (Dev), if it were possible I would give this App a thousand star rating. The Apps small size totally belies its overall usefulness. Well done on such a prompt fix. Many, many thanks. Much love, RD. : ) - I'm in my happy place!

Most worthwhile music app. I have purchased a number of music apps for various purposes but I always come back to nanoloop. This is both a work of art and serious tool. I have come up with some great ideas using it and some complete songs. Highly recommend it to anyone interested in the more serious music apps.

Great Synth/Sampler/Sequencer. It's great! Sampler is easy to use, and create loops on. Allows one second at 44.1khz (cd quality) and 4-5 seconds at 8khz. Just sitting down within 10 minutes of getting this, I was already laying down unique beats.. just sampling my voice. I can't wait till I get on the road and start kicking in gabage cans for my own unique drum sounds. Song editor looks easy enough, I think I'd be able to write whole songs in this, too. (Resubmitting review for current version - I will reaffirm, best music program on iPhone) All around GREAT!

Wonderful!. Such a joy to use! Thanks to the developer!!! Thanks!!!!

No sound. You did a so called update (??????) . There’s a faint sound .... it was an interesting app , but you mess it up .... hope you’ll rectify the situation (????) . R pilon

Best Synth App!. I was just browsing the app looking for something cool when I found this. I was instantly hooked! Definitely worth paying for. This should be in the top ten!

Simple Powerful Brilliant. Easy to use but still quite powerful. Quick and simple to manipulate and create. Not for the "I am T-Pain" app user. :P More for folks who have at least a basic understanding of sequencing and synthesis. Keep up the great work.

impressive. very happy with this purchase. all i ask for is a windows converter for .nans

nanoloop love. This is a fantastic app that may seem overly simple or perhaps confusing at first, but I urge you to spend a little time exploring it. If you're like me, it will quickly start to make sense and you'll grow a big grin on your face. It has a brilliant and well-considered user-interface that makes controlling all the parameters a breeze. It's also quite extensive and great for composing and using as a live instrument (in my opinion; of course). There's A LOT of attention to detail. The easy to use and make accurate BPM controls are a perfect example. I have so many apps where adjusting and accurately setting the BPM is a nightmare. This is not one of those apps. Love this thing.

Crash. Crash before I can play it.

Beautiful app. Love this thing. Great sounds, great layout, great app. If you're into this type of music you won't regret this purchase. Thank you for creating this.

song import?. the thing that would make this the greatest would be a song import feature. I already import wav. songs into imaschine to sample, and it would be a killer feature if this was also in nanoloop

Awesome. Great app, powerful sounds, worth every penny!

Serious fun. First I thought this was ultra confusing. But then I got the hang of it. Just relax, read the sparse help then tap and hold UI elements and enjoy. Serious fun. Love it!

No sound. Sound fixed

Amazing. This is a must for any chiptune lovers/artists with an iPhone!

Not iPhone 5 optimized. the app is GREAT, but it is does not fit the screen :(

Best music app ever. As a NL2.3 user I love that I can carry the experience with me on my iPhone. The synths are beautiful and distinct, and once I read the manual there's quite a lot under the hood.

Fun and addictive. This is a great app, and its ridiculously amazing for its price.

Winner. This is by far the best app for making music. I use it everyday.

A Veritable Hoot!. A stunning achievment in simplicity! Compose and conquer, win the hearts of tender beauties with a cracking bassline. Then Drop the kick to the backside for a dashing good scrub! Our love's raven hair, unfurled by a snare. By the time I heard hi hats, She melted in my lap.

Awesome. Great design, excellent app. I'm really glad I can take it with me wherever I go; I love making song with it! Thanks!

Awesome. I've used a few trackers before, and this one is by fat the easiest I've used. It's not the most powerful, but it doesn't take long to make a simple tune.

I'm digging it!. I'm impressed with how intuitive it is. Once you start playing with it you won't wanna put it down! 

update crashes. My nanoloop on itouch IOS5 was working great until the update, now it just crashes upon opening. I am very sad I use it everyday to make slammin tunes. Scott can you please fix. This app has the best synth engine around and the GUI is very nice to work with, when it worked.

Classic. very very happy this got ported to ios.

Very cool sequencer. Beautiful minimal interface with deep functionality. You can import and export audio via pasteboard, essential to a self contained iOS music workflow.

New version made me fall in love all over again!. It's hard to improve on greatness, but Oliver sure did.

Amazingggg!. My favorite app out there! Easy to use, fun, and creates professional sounding chip tune music! Everyone should have this!!! :D

Highly recommend. This is a fantastic minimalist music production environment. If you like to make music, I strongly suggest you give this a try.

Awesome. Well worth the $3. There are other music creation apps out there that cost $10 and nano blows them away!

Fast and powerful. Like its GameBoy counterpart, nanoloop on iOS is minimal, easy to pick up and work with, and powerful. Great editing options for the synths an sampler, and the tracker sequencer is a good add-on.

Nice Creation Tool. This app is a great way to create some original beats. The only reason I'm rating it a 4 out of 5 rather than 5 is lack of audiobus support. This would truly make this app awesome if it had this feature as it would greatly enhance the functionality.

Good but keeps glitching out. I like the app and its cool to compose music on it but it does not run smooth as it keeps glitching out on me and does not run smooth. Im not making anything too complex but i do use my own samples maybe that could be the problem? Either way it could be better.

Terrific but iPhone only. If this worked on my ipad I'd never sleep.

Excellent!. Incredible work

Almost there. While I love this program, I have to give it lower rating due to the lack of audiobus support. It either get that or effects built in. Sorry.

Minimal awesomeness!. Great program. Works great. Fun to work with and great sounds and interface! With audio copy it really is a first class app. Simple to get started and easy to get a phat lo-fi sound. Kudos!!

A serious creative tool. No frills interface. Intuitive work flow. Nice sounds. Tons of optionsz

A VAST improvement over the Gameboy original!. There! I SAID IT! Nostalgia, be DAMNED! Mine can go to EBay NOW, WITH the Gameboy.

Greatest app I ever bought. This is honestly better than garage band

Amazing. Extremely well done app, and works so well, I think I may abandon lsdj for a little bit lol unless Johan makes an app

Thank you. Works great on ipad with update.

Great App. Awesome for making quick loops.

Amazing App. Hands down the best music app that I use. Updated regularly and always fun to play with

the best beat making app on ios. very simple and easy to get started. once you have it figured out its amazing what you can do. great for use as a musical sketch pad or even to complete entire songs.

Sad. This app has so much potential but it's so confusing to use! I've spent hours on this and still haven't figured it out. Just sorta annoying how confusing it is. I do like it though.

Limitless. People don't realize how amazing this program is.

completely dope, but needs master FX.. Title says it all - this music app is the bees-knees for track creation on the fly. I do think it *needs* the following: (1) master FX (2) a single-page channel mixer And I WISH it had the following: (3) an easy way to select (and playback) chords rather than just single notes (4) a way to set key/scale to limit note selection

Sweet. This has been a super sweet app for years, waiting for audiobus support to be a five star. Unique and awesome

Amazing. Seriously, this is one of the Funnest apps out there!

one issue. It's a great app for making unique music but when i exported it to my laptop to save in my documents my song sounded different from when i made it on the app :/.

Awesome!. This is a really quick and fun app to get into and make a loop go on. It's somewhat friendly - you can easily get the basics running, but to master it will surely require some manual reading :) I recommend this to anyone interested in chiptune and other genres too. Sampling capability just makes it even more awesome ;)

Sooo awesome!. This app is super easy to use, makes awesome music and has beautiful, simple design. You won't regret getting it.

Infradead. Been playing with nanoloop on a gameboy since ver1.3 and this blows me away

Ace. Wow. Great music app; delicious sounding. A bit limited, but wonderfully expansive for it's range. More, please!

Step writing utopia. My favorite step sequencer, so simple yet so capable! I hear there's a midi version in the pipes wink wink say no more. That will make me as happy as a little girl! And now we dance!

ios 8. This app no longer works with iOS 8, and the sounds are completely messed up. please help/fix! :(

Buy this now!. This is the best app I have found to create music on the iPhone! The minimalist interface is very intuitive. This should be bigger than angry birds!

Great. My favorite chip tune app, but I'd kill to have a stretch mode at least on the iPad.

Best app I have seen in a long time!. This app, it's amazing, and honestly is worth what you pay. I get this app, not knowing what it was. It's that good. 5 stars with EVREY update!!!

Fun and powerful. Every other music creation app on iOS is either a fun toy or a complicated bore. Nanoloop strikes the perfect balance of fun ease-of-use and deep editing capability. 5 stars!

Limited use, excellent UI.. Doesn't do a lot and has few options, but does what it does it very well. Great interface!

Great!. One of my favorite music creators on the app store. Great interface and easy exporting!

Great. After using nanoloop, all step sequencers should arrange 16 notes in a grid rather than a row.

This update is incredible. So minimalist, so fast. It's just excellent.
