No Delete Button?. So I Downloaded The App. But Whenever I Want To Delete My Text-To-Speech Docs, It Won’t Let Me! I Don’t Know What’s Going On, But… It’s Pretty Wierd!

Finally!. I recently had neck surgery. During the surgery, one of my voice box nerves became paralyzed. I am not supposed to use it for a while to help it heal. Hopefully, it's use will come back on its own. In the meantime, I have 4 kids and an amazing husband who have no idea what I'm saying.... Until now! I am so grateful for this app that allows me to communicate again without playing charades (which my family is horrible at) Even if it does takes me a bit longer now than actually speaking. I like the ability to save often-used phrases. The voices are among the most realistic I've heard. The only thing that could make this app better, is if I could push a button to delete out all of what I had previously written. I hate having to select everything & delete. Sometimes I forget, & that is just a big hot mess :) it would also be nice if the phrases saved in alphabetical order in addition to the order entered, as it saves them now. The description says that it can read emails, but either I'm really slow witted, or it doesn't do that. At least not that I've figured out. Not unless you copy & paste them in. It is also notable that you cannot use this app unless you have an internet connection. The only way to use it without, is with the saved phrases. I haven't experienced having to have an 'account' yet. All in all, this app is a definite keeper for me. :) Thanks again for developing such an amazing app for us to use! :) keep up the good work!

Disappointing - liars, not best, keep looking there is better. I paid for this, may be free now, don’t waste time, first time something frustrates me this much, this is junk. I hate thinking how many people think this is good when theres better. I bought the pro version and it has ads. It seems every time I open the app I get sent to App Store asking me to buy an app I don't want. I bought this thinking i would paste long text and let it read to me. I really liked the sound of the voices on this app and that is why I bought it. However the app doesn't allow long text. It's has become useless to me. Wish I could get my money back. Apple voice over has no problem reading long. I just hate the robotics voice.

Good Voices, Bad App. Really the only thing this app has that other text-to-speech apps don't have is the iSpeech voices. Other than that, it's really nothing special at all. My biggest complaint is that you can't use the voices without an internet connection. With other high quality TTS apps (such as Voice Reader by Linguatec, or Speak It! by Future Apps, Inc.), if you purchase a voice, that voice is downloaded to your phone, and you can use it with no internet connection required. With this app, however, even if you pay for a voice, you don't technically get it. You just get to access it on iSpeech's servers. Then, as I discovered today, it can only handle a few sentences at a time. Anything more than that, and it doesn't read it. So basically, I paid to not have the voices on my phone, to only have access to them through an internet connection, and to have the app not read any text if I put more than a paragraph into the text window. Also, as I am blind, I use the VoiceOver accessibility feature on my iPhone. The app doesn't allow me to view all eight pages of available voices when using VoiceOver; I can only select from the voices on the first page. My advice to anyone looking for a good text-to-speech application: DON'T GET THIS ONE! Go with either Speak It! or Voice Reader. They've got better voices, control of voice speed, pitch and volume, and a lot more features that this app doesn't have.

So much potential. I have no voice right now and therefore began using this app. I purchased the male voice as well. This app needs to have a delete button which would allow the last line translated to be erased. This will allow for a more smoother use of the app. This app from time to time also goes out and does not work. This app needs some minor tweaking to make it a 5 star. I shall wait and see if they update it.

Great app TTS Pro !!!. I don't think, I know this TTS Pro is the best text to speech app I have ever !! Purchase; also, what makes it so powerful is it can pronounce any word or name you type in and any word or name you make up. Now that's power! It has a very powerful phonetic decoder that can also, help people to improve there reading. It's just the best I have ever seen. That's for making the app. :-)

Wow! What a great app. This is the best reader I’ve ever installed on my phone. The voice is very clear and saves my time when I’m preparing to go to school. Now I can easily read my PDF documents or web page contents. It is fluent, with no lags. Overall, I find it simple and clean with a clear voice. If you are a student with lots of course materials to read, this app comes highly recommended. My only challenge is for the developers to keep making it better!! Keep me updated on any new developments. It's my new favorite app.

Icantfigureouthowtopoop&usethisapp. This app is crap. Which coincidentally is exactly what I need at the moment in the world outside my iPhone. This app made my pooper problems worse because instead of focusing on my breathing & abdominal movement patterns, I was trying to figure out how to use this app for free (which is as impossible as making a bowel movement any time soon), which has directly & indirectly extended my time on the stool considerably as I had no choice but to write this (my first ever) review immediately. This app made my iPhone stink. ...literaly.

Minus Stars if only possible. Don't pollute your IPad with this app. Free is not free when you have to buy the voice needed to speak the text. The problem is the voice stops reading after only one line of text. No big deal, since the voice app costs just 99 cents, right. Wrong! Collecting 99 cents from a million people while providing nothing in return can be a very profitable scam. I tried several times to get help with this "problem" from the App developer and support, but NOTHING! Forget about contacting ITunes. It's impossible to get an answer about anything from anyone at ITunes thereby making ITunes the biggest scam artist on the web.

Sneaky subscription. Just downloaded the app and accidentally agreed to their ridiculous subscription of $9.99 A WEEK! Now if maybe a decent price ( say $9.99 a month) then it would be no problem, but a week? Bye. If anyone else has made this mistake ( and im sure many have since it’s so sneaky and sudden) to cancel the subscription you go to your email linked to your apple store account and find their email, then scroll to the bottom to ( review your subscription) and click it. After hat their should be an option to “unsubscribe”. You’re welcome. These devs should be a shamed of themselves, they don’t even have a website and as far as i can see, they don’t even bother to help people in this situation. This should be removed from the app store!

Awesome!. Works perfectly! Voices are great! For me it will speak anything and will let you save anything! Definitely get this app! My throat has been hurting me so I downloaded this app to give my throat a little break. It works way better than any of the others! BY FAR! I'm not joking this app is great. Especially If your a girl because there are only US woman and UK woman for free but you can purchase more. They sound great. If you need more emotion try adding a exclamation mark or question mark. If you need the sentence to slow down just add periods in spaces you need to slow down or pause. Overall this app is great!

Love this app!. I can't believe how good this app is! They finally fixed it. Thank you so much developer! It used to crash after latest iOS update, but now it's good. Has more languages than any other TTS app. The quality is second to none. Amazing! Thanks!

Fake free trial. App works well, but the opening screen offered me a free 3 day trial, but no instructions on how to access it. I tapped on a week long subscription, thinking that the trial would engage, as the message stated you could cancel your subscription before the three days ended, but it went ahead and charged me. Bogus trial. Either a terrible bug that’s outrageously overlooked, or gross sleight of hand the app developers put in intentionally. Neither is a good look

Great app for someone with speech difficulties. Thank you so much I am so happy I found this app. It really has allowed me to find my voice, which because of this app can range from American or French or Australian. Please any one with difficulty speaking please try this app.

Amazing TTS for visually impaired!. This is my first ever app store review. I am a visually impaired iphone user. My new Iphone 3G S has been a God send allowing me for the first time to comfortably use a smart phone. The only thing missing was decent TTS, and ISpeech has definitly filled the void. The clear natural sounding voice and simple interface make it easy for me to listen to web articles, RSS new content and email. The FREE voice is quite impressive, but the premium voices are incredible. There are of course things I'd like to see such as built in RSS reader that let you select content right from the application. Still this free program has acceeded my expectation. I'd recamend it to anyone with poor eyesight!

Needs a clear button. I'm very happy with this app. I lose my voice from time to time because of chronic laryngitis and I found this to be the best app to talk for me. I have two young children so I can't exactly communicate with them by writing stuff down so this is a great option. Plus they get a kick out of me having a British accent. Two things that would greatly improve this app would be a single button that you can push to clear everything previously typed, and to allow the screen to rotate to landscape on my iPhone. It's so much easier to type that way.

Helps a lot!. My sister & I both have a brain disease that causes us not to be able to speak sometimes and this app has helped a lot! We just use the free voices. The app does have problems sometimes (freezes, takes a long time to speak, says some words wrong), but overall it's been a huge blessing!!!! At least people get the general idea of what we are trying to say. I highly recommend this app.

Needs more. After trying out 4 different text to speech apps, including my iMac's native text reading, iSpeech definitely has the most natural sounding voices. The trouble is this app needs an Internet connection like Siri does in order to do the reading. Also, the app won't let you do more than about a minute's worth of text reading an the full version only gives you more voices, not longer reading times. These restrictions make the app useless for listening to web articles or books. Quite a shame since, as I said, the voices are hands down the best I have yet heard. They have a subscription service on their website that lets non-businesses clients to convert up to 12 hours of document reading, but that is hamstrung by the fact that they restrict the voices to ones that are not appreciably better than the competitions. Hope to see better from iSpeech soon. They have great potential. They just need to unleash it.

Get ready to lose money. As pointed out by others, you have to be VERY careful when using this app, because you'll receive a pop up every time you use it that prompts you to buy new voices for $3.99 a piece. I have deleted this "free" app and will never use it again because it made me buy an additional English voice I had no intention of getting. Also, the character limit for pasted text is extremely short, in comparison to some (free!) web-based text to speech tools I've seen.

Like this app!!!. Can we appreciate how easy this app is to use. Being able to use the pdf reading option has saved me so much time, not to mention you can switch up the voice if you prefer a different speaker.

Insult to Special Needs. If you need a speech app for working with special needs ... then don't waste time on this one. It is NOT free. The "use for free" button simply puts up a text input screen which quits (or crashes) when you try to launch speech when you are not connected to the internet. If you are connected it does NOT offer you speech but instead ir nvites you to register for a free trial on their web site. As far as special needs are concerned, this app or rather the way it is presented is FALSE and deceitful. I have not bothered to regisyter and try it out, I am too dissapointed already with the the way it all started ... if there was a Zero Star rating of a minus rating I'd post it. Thanks but NO THANKS. Don't waste my time !

Must have if you can't speak! Helps me communicate with others. I lost my voice 7 months ago, and I've been using this app to talk to people. Very sophisticated text recognition. It even changes intonation depending on the punctuation you use! It reads the sentence differently if you use a ? or a ! and it pauses for periods and commas. There are many different voices and languages, if you want to entertain people and make light of your disability. They were a great hit at the last party :) If you're using this app as your voice, here are some great tricks I've come up with! The iPhone can be quiet, especially when there's any competing noise. I bought an iHome mini-speaker that connects through the headphone jack, so the voice carries MUCH louder. It's great! I also bought a portable fold-up keyboard, that connects to the iPhone through wireless Bluetooth. This makes it much faster to type what you want to say! Please, please keep upgrading this app. There are some pronunciation and intonation problems that can be improved. It also acts buggy sometimes and won't speak until I restart it. Saved audio clips often do not play. Overall a really great app. I don't know what I would do without it, now that I have no voice. I hope it will continue to get better and better; I will come back and review the upgrades!

Please update. This would be perfect for me if you guys would allow it to read an unlimited amount of words. I'm dirt poor, this ipod was a gift to me, and I am a writer. My eyes are terrible and it's incredibly hard for me to get my friends to proof read my work. I cannot afford big fancy programs, and it seems no one is generous enough when it comes to the visually impaired and the mute. I'm begging you to allow unlimited words. I'm out of options and there's nothing I can do, as well as many others.

Updated version is much worse!. I originally got this app because I liked being able to save speeches. The voices were good, didn’t sound much like a text to speech program, and I had fun making Bush and Obama argue. However, since the new update came out (“iSpeech TTS” to “Text to Speech”), I have deleted it. Not only can I not save unlimited speeches, but I lost the two voices I paid for, and can’t get them back, and now I have to pay FOURTY dollars to get them all?! If it was closer to $3 or even $5 I may do it, but $40 is way too much, and the developers are just milking money now. Not to mention, I don’t know what happened, but the voices do not sound realistic anymore. They are worse than Siri! They also want me to pay another $40 PER MONTH to be able to save unlimited speeches. Sorry, but I’m not about to pay $80 for different sounding Siri thank you very much! Would NOT recommend this app. Just use Siri.

Thank you for making this app!. This is a great app! I got it because i lost my voice. And not only is it helpful... But fun in general! I didn't think it would work, but it works great! The only thing is that sometimes it take a little time to say words, but other than that, great!

Too many words?!. While looking for an automated voice to read my notes for a national chemistry contest I stumbled upon this app, and I am sorry I did. It takes quite a while for it to finally begin playing the speech and, if the app weren't overpriced (with them only giving you three voices to begin, and none of them very advanced) then I am a chicken. If matters weren't bad enough, a five-bullet list was too much for the system to carry, prompting it to confusingly load for thirty minutes and then not play anything, with no warning beforehand. Do yourself a favor and ignore all of the five star reviews -- they're probably paid for and not real.

Excellent voices, terrible functionality.. Does exactly as the description says. Cut and paste text into it and it annunciates. Voices are excellent. Much better than Speak It. I downloaded both and tested thoroughly. Speak it beats iSpeech hands down in functionality. If these two companies would get together and merge their two programs we customers would have an absolute winner. Speakit has built-in speech which is great for instant, no Internet delay, whereas iSpeech accesses their server via wifi or 3G. Speak it allows you to save files in aiff format, e-mail the voice file, and a lot more. iSpeech does a lot better (near perfect) job of annunciating, but has a bothersome window that covers the text. Yes, iSpeech will save the file (and the text), but in a very weird way. I sincerely hope that Speak It implements better voice annunciation, and iSpeech implements all of the great functionality of Speak it.

I've got it!. I know that many of you think that the app has no speak or save button from the latest update. I had the same problem, and I know how to fix it. Power off your device and power it back on. Then, it should be working just fine. Anyway, I love the app because I am sick and pretty much lost my voice.

Like the update. I like the new look of the app! I have had it for year and it started to look like it was made years ago. All the new scanning features look useful too, but I haven’t tried them out yet.

Awesome app, BUT. I would think that BOTH the female voices AND the MALE voices would be available for english. At least make ONE of the english voices available only as male by default (i.e.- instead of UK English female voice, have UK English male voice available for free, or do that for the US English voice—it really doesn't matter much which is made available by default, but when I cannot speak (as my friend couldn't) and want to try using an app instead of writing constantly, I would prefer to have my gender available. I know that probably sounds extreme, but my friend became ill with a terrible case of the flu and his throat hurt whenever he spoke. He was afraid he might damage his vocal cords, so I came up with the app idea instead of paper and pen. But he's a he.). I do agree the voice quality is probably the highest I've heard anywhere. You're awesome for that. I would also like to comment on the fact that the US English Female voice sounds, well, provocative (in the most common modern-day use of the word—also for lack of a better… child-safe word)

Very good, but.... I use this app to memorize my speaking parts in my Masonic Youth Organization. It was always very good for that, since I’m an auditory and visual learner. I can read over the part while listening to someone speak to it, and I can recite it along with the speaker. The best part was I could save the audio so I could listen to it again as many times as I wanted. Overall a very good app, it had all the tools I needed in the free version. However, I reduced one star since after the most recent update all of my saved audio was gone. I was upset, because I spent a lot of time typing those speaking parts. I guess it wouldn’t hurt to type them again since it would help me remember, but I’d rather not have do that since it took so much time to type them. Other than that this app is perfect for this purpose. I recommend it. I just hope this doesn’t happen again.

Buggy. Switched to NaturalReader, it's much better. This thing has weird bugs and is clumsy to use. I paste in some text, then I wait for 60 seconds for it to tell me it's too long. Copy and paste sometimes just stops working, and I have to restart the phone to get them to work again. Arrrg! The saved files show the whole text for each save, making selecting very slow and awkward, oh, and don't scroll too fast or the whole app crashes.

Works Good! For Now?. I've had this app for one day, and it works fine! Although I have seen a lot of reviews saying it is bad, I'm not sure what they mean. The voices are smooth and very good, they just need something to control the speed. I also think we need some more voices that are free. I will write another review with the same nickname if the app crashes, so keep checking.

More than good enough. Those who complain about having to be connected to the internet while using this don't seem to appreciate the extra processing power provided, which allows for the sentences to sound so natural. Even if only two female voices are included for free, that's more than enough for most use cases. The extra voices are cheaper than a pack of gum; 99 cents each or 2.99 for all (more than 10-15 total, including celebrity voice sound-alikes of Obama and Bush). Get it -- you won't regret it.

Love it but.... I lose my voice all the time, and this app is great for that! But every time I get onto this app, it asks me the same stupid question over and over. Do you want to buy celebrity voices? Number one, no. Number two, the only people that will buy that app will be people who have nothing better to do with their lives. But anyway, get rid of the constant pop ups. Then you'll have five stars.

More voice options. Works well enough but it would be even better if it had more voice options for people of different ages. I need a teen boys voice. But it would be even better to have little kid voices, old man voices, southern voices, California voices, Wisconsin voices and New England voices. I'm trying to find a voice for my son's speech generating device and with the right voice this would be the perfect A.T. app.

Best speech quality on iOS, but zero features.. The TTS quality is excellent, very natural quality and cadence. Almost gives iVona a run for its money. The problem is, this app has practically zero features. You cannot open up documents of any kind and have it read them. And there is a severe limit to the amount of text you can paste in. Not even a whole page of text. I thought the Pro version might allow you to load docs, but according to the reviews, it's the same as the free version, just with more included voices. Such wasted potential.

Amazing. I don't knw why this has such bad reviews I think it's an excellent app, it does what it is told to and needed and for the price u pay( nothing) ur not gonna get an over the top app but this is very nice and if it crashes or something I guess tht a problem but try re downloading it and all

Worse than horrible. Words cannot describe how bad this app is and how angry it has made me. It fails to even say a sentance, every time it asks you to sign which no one will ever do. Then after you type something in is says loading only for it ti crash. I have tried ten times and only once it worked saying three words I wanted it to and a bunch of promo and adds before what I wanted to to say. Do not bother downloading this.

Found the solution!. Newest Edit: Figured it out! When you open the app and it takes you to the free trial/ purchase option screen- look at the top left corner- There will be an option to continue with the limited version. This way you will at least have access to use the app- though you don’t have all of the fancy options and voices. To the developer- Thank You for keeping this option open! It seems hard for people to find- but it means a lot none the less that it is still there! I’ve been using this app for years- and it has been a wonderful experience. It worked out great for me because the voice I particularly use was free- and if I needed a different voice then I could choose to buy them. App just updated- gives you a three day free trial and then charges you $9.99 a week!!! 🤬 I am going to miss this app- but at the end of my three days I will probably never use it again if it stays this way. I am happy to change my review if it ever gets fixed. Hopefully the developer is listening! Edit: After consideration (even though it is still a gouge) I would pay a one time $10 price for this app. Maybe the developer should consider that instead?

Best app so far!. I just had surgery to remove my tonsils and adenoids. It's very painful so I cant really talk that well so I went searching for a app that I can text and the words would be big enough so people could read. Then I ran across a text to speech app but it was good I couldn't understand the words to well. Out of all the text to speech app this is the best and it's free. You can really understand what is being said not to robotic at all. But the only downside to this is I want to save my text so I don't have to keep retyping but when I try to save it it's asking me if I want to pay for a voice that I didn't even use or like. So I'll give this app 4 stars only because I can't save my text.

So far so good. I haven't used this app very much, however, it's worked perfectly for me every time. The only thing I have an issue is weather there is a settings button or not to change speed of reading or if you just use the phone settings to set it up (I'm just blonde). I read all the reviews and on ALL the ones that gave 1/2s seemed to just be minor bug issues that can be fixed (or people just being nit picky) try it and make your own decision

Great. This app is amazing but there needs to be a play in the background feature so that you can listen to it read books or whatever in the background so that you don't have to keep it on and you can save power or play some games while listening to your text.

Great application. I have been using this for quite a while now. The only thing that I would suggest for an improvement is the speed and pitch of the voices. Also more of them would be nice as others have requested in their reviews.

Bait and switch. The app says its “free” but as soon as you download it, it immediately tries to convince you to buy it with a free trial. You can bypass that but once you do, the available options are ridiculous. Bottom line: this is not a free app. There are LOTS of other apps that have many more options in their free version. I would recommend finding and using one of those.

Be aware of unwanted charges. This app will prompt you to purchase additional languages every time you open the app. And if you are not careful you will end up buying language that you didn't want. I installed the app today and found that I was charged 3 dollars for Italian language. I don't know Italian and had no idea when/how I purchased it. Then I realized I probably clicked yes on one of the pop up question. This app constantly shows pop up questions. If you want to use it, pay extra attention. I deleted the app tonight and will not use it again.

Stuck on a payment screen w/o escape. I downloaded this only for it to open to a screen to get me to subscribe, and the only option available was to hit “continue” and then authorize a more than $70 annual price. It wouldn’t even allow me to swipe up to exit! Everything about it was shady. I finally was able to click on a notification to change apps, then swipe up and close this one. I couldn’t even try it before buying. I get in-app purchases, but at least let me see how the app works first.

Impressive quality but very limited use. Awesome voices sound very real. Unfortunately there is no way to save-out audio or to play it in the background. There is also a word limit so it can only read a few paragraphs at a time. Sadly the app is useless. A real shame.

Stuttering moron.. The text seems to be sent via the Internet to a server that converts the text to an audio file and then sends the audio file to your iPad. Paying for a voice doesn't improve performance but it does make it easier to understand what is being said. Waste of time.

Works for me. After reading the last review I was going to pass this by. But I down loaded it and it works. I have not done extensive play yet but it does work.

In app purchase a rip off. I don't have a voice and my husband can't understand the stupid American accent on this app. So I paid for more voices. I got more languages. I was stupid to buy!

Free version has very limited memory. For Txt to Speach, the amount of words able to be processed in a single copy/paste is very limiting. ( <100?) Makes me avoid buying it; no idea if that's standard for $ version. Otherwise it seems workable.

Accidentally charged. I have been charged $99.99 without my consent just because my details were on my apple tv subscription. There isn’t any email anywhere! How do I get my money back. I am not even using this app😥

uSELESS. It runs by connecting to a cloud on the web and takes ages to come back with speech...horrible.

The app is Brocken. The application is broken and does not actually preform what it's meant to do. There is no button turn text into speech.

Some don't work. I bought all of them but some refuse to be selected and when I tap them a couple times more it crashes and won't let me back on. It ends up working after I restart my phone but I still can't select gorge bush,Obama and some others

Crash on ios11. Worked ok 3 times on iOS 11. Asked me to login with Apple ID. After entering details the app will not load at all. Just black screen.

Alright. It’s a good app but the biggest problem is having the “clear saved” button at the top left hand corner. I always accidentally press that and then all my saved speeches are gone and the thing is when that button is pressed there’s not even a pop up that should come up saying “delete/cancel”. The second thing I don’t like is it’s very messy and unorganised or professional.

Waste of money. It was ok while it was free, I was stupid enough to buy all voices since then it freezes the voice is notchy and can't be understood... Don't waste your $$$$

Restricted length. I purchased chinese voice, but then I found it can't read more than around 100 words, was planning to read long articles, which is the whole idea of buying this app. Voice is very nice, but what is the use of it if it can't read me long articles?

Better voices, but.... I like the voices. Less robotic. Don't click on the ispeech icon next to save because you will have trouble getting back to the app. A 'close' or 'x' for the window would be nice!

Hopeless!. Just downloaded the app and it doesn't work? I have no idea why but it seems to want to use wifi before it speakers? Anyway didn't work and the app is hopeless, I can fully understand why the poor ratings!

Crashing. After the new update it keeps crashing soon after it speaks what you typed down, please fix, I've spent a lot of money on the IAP

Does not work. When I click speak nothing happens. I can't hear anything and there is no way I know if it's speaking or not.

Don't wast your money. It's a ripoff as soon as you pay money it glitches and doesn't say the word properly don't wast your money

Probably a scam. I always know when I’m asked for approval of payments during a free trial that someone plans to scam me. $15 a week past the free trial feels incredibly steep, too. I just assume the whole thing is a scam if they want such an incredibly high subscription rate on a random mobile app. Stay away.

Works. Helped when I was on vocal rest. Sounded exactly like me. Nobody could tell the difference.

Beware - it’s an instant subscription. Works well but BEWARE.... before you know you have activated it and you have signed up (and been charged) for the 1st weeks subscription ($15!). This makes it VERY misleading as the App Store says free with “in app purchases”. I got caught as I am sure many others will too!

Good. I don't know why is the rating so low but it seems a good app for me, at least better than others which have similar function. The pronunciation sounds fine and it's fast and can handle a long article, while some apps only allow you to put in a single paragraph.

Mr. Unreliable. It keeps crashing on my iPhone which has latest ios.

Handy, needs a clear button. I became a British woman for a day when I had laryngitis and my almost 3yo was happy to listen and respond to my proxy. Needs a clear button to remove typed text as backspacing held me up. The pronunciation is very good, the few seconds lag not great but tolerable. Could be improved by addition of hot buttons and/or saved phrases.

Need account. You need an account for the female and male voice, the free one just keeps crashing. Would be ok if fixed. Deleted...

Was working well…. Until last iOS update (15.6) I used it for a few weeks no problem was working fine… and now it won’t even open. I guess it needs an serious update.

Robotic Voices. Please bring back the US Female and US Male voices from last year!! They sounded super realistic and they would change/adapt to punctuation. For example, “Hello” and “Hello!” would have two different sounds like in real life. Now, they sound too robotic and not fluent at all. These two voices were the reason why I bought this app, now they are just like any other SIRI reader. Please bring back those voices and Ill sure be updating my review with 5 stars. Thank you!

slow. takes forever to speak after typing. to much delay after typing

It does the job. It works. I'm using the tts for hk Cantonese. The only problem is that the pop up keyboard covers the option to save the text and to pull down the keyboard. It would be useful if there's an option to save to audio.

Very Slow. Super slow, froze my whole phone and kept exiting. Not very useful unfortunately.

Very poor app. The app crashes often (iPhone 5s, iOS 10.0.01). When it does work, it's obvious that this is primitive text-to-speech technology. I deleted it immediately.

Very human like. I am amazed at how far TTS technology has come! The voices are very human like and the speed is perfect. Great app, I'm surprised it's free.

Good but crashes when exporting. Needs some work so it can send via email. It crashes when I export it to any of my media players.

great app for small text. great app, love the smooth reading. good for small amount of text only, thus require couple of cut n paste actions. like the save audio feature, extremely handy. saving audio can be improved if associate text with a title instead of showing complete content when back to replay it.

Perfect functionality. You want text to speech then down load this app. It works perfectly. Best text to speech app I've ever used.

Nagware. Three pop ups upon opening, advertises itself as free but doesn't work unless you make an in app purchase. Not recommended.

Difficult to see controls. Downloaded the free version, thank goodness. While in text mode it's nearly impossible to see the voice controls. Annoying! Phone: iPhone 5 64GB with iOS 8.x.

Excellent, but limited. Superb text-to-speech in tiny bits. Sounds great but severely-limited in size. Useless for a writer.

Crap!!!!. Unless I get this to work or get a credit for $ spent on this; I will continue to spread the word about this developer and their Apps. Love it. It was a god send after my tonsillectomy last August. I used it for almost a month. The 1st week was a white board then I found this. I still use it when I get sick with laryngitis.

LIMITED. I pasted document, and tried to save FAIL. It said too many words - not a crazy amount put in. I pressed the speak button, and it didn't read a loud. Just disappointed.

Crashes after buying voice pack. Bought voice pack for it. Didn't show in application that I bought it. Later on after some time when I try to open application it just crashes back to homescreen. Tried re-installing it many times. still having issue.

Awesome app!. This App is well done and easy to use! Unlocking all the different languages helped me when i travelled all over the world this year!

Price out of Skew.... I didn’t even get around to trying this out because the price is way out of line with what other services charge.

Will not work without an internet connection.. This is a pretty good app and can be very helpful if you have a hard time speaking, although it will not work without a connection the internet. You can save phrases to be able to access them later, but there is no way to categorize and organize them.

New update. Hey! Great app, but would be very much appreciated if all the ispeech apps had an iOS 7 update. It is just starting to look a little dated. Thanks!

No Arabic option. The apps work better than apple text to voice. I bought the apps because it support Arabic, but the apps doesn't have the option to work in Arabic.

$39.99 to export?. Is this a one time fee? For each export. Another poorly designed over priced TTS app on the iPad.

Rip Off. The voices on the free version sound great, but only exist to sucker you into paying for more voices, which sound terrible! What a scam!

Laryngitis. I downloaded this app to help me communicate with my husband and kids. I lose my voice often as I've never really given my larynx time to recover fully. I found it too difficult to just not speak completely and they rely on me too much to not talk. When I discovered this app it only took one day of using it before my family was use to the system of me typing and the simulated voice responding to them. I'm now giving myself the healing time it needs and I'm very grateful for this app. I'm giving it four stars because it requires data to use.

Tts pro doesn't work. Tts pro is a great app . I use it to turn japanese text into voice which is really useful for studying. I just downloaded latest update and now the speech button disappeared which means app no longer works on my ipad 2. Fortunately I have a backup of old version on my computer so it works now. Tried to get help from app developer but got brushed off. Completely useless. They don't seem to know when the app has a bug. So app may or may not work. Don't expect help,from the developers.

A great start. A great start, but it needs to speak while typing, and work without an Internet connection would be nice. More of a toy then a tool. I would like to use it with my device sideways for the large keyboard.

Issues.... First of all, the app crashes frequently on my iphone6 plus ruining iOS 10.1.1 I did the in-app purchase to save the MP3 files, but I was hoping for an option to save them in my iPhone setting for different iOS notifications. So for now, saving then to the iCloud, then later syncing then to my iPhone for use. Great potential in this app, but it needs a lot of work. Oh, and you might want to be careful using this app, it keeps popping up, wanting you to enter your iTunes password. It's actually trying to make purchases ... just be careful.

😒. I hate when apps have you download with the assumption that you don't have to pay. I downloaded, expecting to have to pay for a premium, but was immediately asked for money up front. Apps that do this automatically lose my business. I don't like being tricked into wasting the limited data I have to download something I can't even try out. Sorry. That's fax.

The App Is Fine but the Obama Voice is Awful. The app does what it's meant to do. I'd like to give it a better review but I bought the Obama voice. I implore that I receive a refund, it's $5 and doesn't work. I tried to respond to a remark with 'Oh yeah?' And the result was entirely unintelligible. The app itself is fine, please don't buy the Obama voice though.

It was fun until it quit working. It worked for a few days and then quit. It appears to be going thru all the steps, but no sound comes out. WHEN IT WAS WORKING... It sounded like it was piecing together sound bites which don't always fit together correctly. You also have to play around with the spelling (as in deliberately misspelling a word) to get some of the words to come out right.

Works fine... The first few times you use it.. I'm sick and have lost my voice, so I downloaded this app (for free). Then I purchased an extra voice, didn't use this app for about two hours, returned to it, and discovered that about, oh, 7/8ths of the time it WON'T WORK. It'll load the speech but not play, and no matter what you do it refuses to play! Download it for free, but be warned: don't buy any of the voices. It might stop working.

Brought out "Happy Tears". My 14 year old daughter has severe autism and is non-verbal. This is the one app/program she LOVES to use. She's even been silly with it and it cracks her up. I adore her laugh. Thank you with all my heart for this free app. Take care.

It needs work!. I was sincerely disappointed by this program. Even though it does do a fairly decent job of changing text to voice, it has a very limited amount of capability to convert large passages. The paid version may be better. However, there are many more free apps available in the marketplace that outperform this one!

Lost my voice. This is such a great app! Helped me get through losing my voice for a bit!

Clear but Speaks Fast. The voice is clearn and so much better than other programs that are robotic like but you can't slow down the voice which makes it difficult for my daughter

Nodes on my vocal chord. This app saved my booty . I found put I had a small node on my right vocal chord and the Doc said No talking, No singing, no whispering for 21 days. With this app I was able to continue my privet music teaching , it was still tuff but without this app it would have been impossible. It works .!don't down load the new version and expect it to play the old version Saved audio it won't.! Disappointed now .!

Crash much!?. This has one of the best sounding voices I have used, but what is going on with this app always crashing. And the worst part is when it crashes it dumps all of my saved data. I have it running on a clean, new, iPad 2. The best possible hardware to run this app and still has crashed on me over 14 times in one evening.

Voice good, app lacking. Sounds good only positive. Can only paste in one sentence at a time to read. Needs to work through other apps to be useful (ie read a news article with ap or USA today or read a web page while in safari) stand alone reader with one sentence limit useless.

Not as good. Needs to have wifi/ Internet connection to speak. Not quick to speak, it takes few seconds since it needs wifi connection. Sometimes it doesn't respond when I want to repeat the speak button in succession. This would be a great app if not wifi connected.

Not ready for prime time. The voices may be nice but the app failed to read text pasted from an article. It turned out that the text was "too long". Why the app itself couldn't break it down into manageable chunks is beyond me. Manually having to break up the article to get the app to read it is a hassle. There are better options out there.

Great app but slow. It works very good but for what I'm trying to use it for it a bit slow and takes a bit to load. My throat really hurts to talk but by the time it would talk I just found my self just saying it myself lol

Eh. Should be a way to slow the speech down. Even more they could add to speed it up or change pitch. But mostly I need to be able to slow the speech down. The animation reads way fast, and I spent a dollar on the bush voice and it's terrible. It sounds like a bush-a-like sometimes and just normal Microsoft guy voice other times. Terrible.

just what the doctor should have ordered!. I just had major surgery on my head and am unable to Talk. This program has allowed me to communicate with others rather well. So why a 3 star rating?? 1. You should offer both a male and female voice, not a UK female and USA female. Just male and female. 2. It's totally Internet dependent. I don't remember that being mentioned. 3. $.99 for male voice?? Should be a freebie. I can understand charging for celebrity impressions but come on really guys just a plain male voice? Overall it's a good product. I would recommend it for short term usage.

Beware. The app itself is very straightforward but if you are using this app take extra precautions before clicking anything because the app will prompt you to purchase new voices and languages every time you open it and I learned this when I clicked the home button after opening the app on accident and it pulled up a new voice to purchase for $4.99 and it immediately paid with Touch ID no questions asked.

Matt Damon smells nice. One day I was drinking some milk and cried because my pants felt like pudding. Then I found this app and I went to Mexico. I cried more. Obama came and slapped me and then a ballon came. I grabbed it and flew away. I live on Mars now. Btw this app is good.

This app is hilarious. I didn’t realize this was a prank app. What a hilarious joke to have a text to speech app cost 10 dollars a week for use! Thanks for the laugh but I deleted immediately. There’s plenty of apps that do this for free with premium voices so this app is only good to download if you want to have a laugh and waste space on your phone.

requires internet connection. this is a nice app..but the bad thing about it is that you have to be online in order for It to say the sentences...it would be nice if it would say your sentences offline too..so please app store upgrade it so you can use it offline...other then that i love how the voice sounds SO CLEAR!!!

Description Inaccurate. They say it will, "speak text instantly" but if I put in too much text, not a whole lot even, it just says loading and won't play. When the screen locks it stops reading. There should be a way to export audio files. The Speak it! app has that.

Dissapointment. I got it and it worked great for about two minutes. Then I bought Obama and I only got to hear it for a second. I used it once and the Obama sucked and then when I tried to use it again, it stopped working. I want my money back. Shame on me for buying an Obama voice for $5.99. But shame on YOU for SELLING me one that not only Sounded horrible, but stopped working after the first try! I want a refund.

Sufficient. This app worked for a while. However, when I switch voices, it takes several minutes for it to turn my text into speech. It has some bugs that need to be fixed. Also, the additional voices are far over-priced.

Great app. I had to get oral surgery and I couldn't talk with all the gauze in my mouth. Everyone knew what I was saying. I totally recommend it to everyone. Has no problems

used to be my favorite tts app, now terrible/unusable. Wow, what happened? It looks like the app screen is much too large for an iPhone or iPad screen, buttons hidden beyond the edge of the screen with no ability to scroll to it. Whatever the developers did to this formerly very useful app, they've rendered it completely unusable. I do not recommend this app. Given two stars for nostalgia, not current state.

I like this app a lot, but. The main issue I have is that it seems not to be able to read long articles. I'm only able to get it to read in roughly 3 paragraph blocks. And that is really annoying when trying to listen to a long article. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

Incredible speaking app!. Love this! Works fine! I wrote my voice mail greetings in my office. Then, connected my iphone to my iPad and let this app does the work. it dod! the vm recording is fabulous!!!

Very useful. I use this app to help my son who's a reluctant reader. I would love it if the words would be highlighted as they are read. I can't find an app like that, but this one is very useful. I'd like to be able to choose what to clear in saved and not have to clear everything. I'd like to be able to place the curser anywhere and have it begin reading from that point. Is there a way to edit something that is in saved?

Good. Helped me a lot after getting my four wisdom teeth out. Would not have been able to communicate otherwise. Great app especially considering its free

No Bluetooth connection?. I am unable to get the audio from a Bluetooth connected remote speaker. The typing click sounds while typing a sentence is conveyed and heard over the speaker, but the audio speech is heard only by the internal iPhone 5 speaker. Please update the app to allow use of Bluetooth speaker.

Sounds better that built in text to speech. I had the no sound problem until I realized app volume was at zero. Opps. Volume settings for music, ring tones, and apps are all independent.

Help Pls. I just downloaded this app and accidentally confirmed to pay $9.99 a week a think (really sneaky of them as I was not expecting this so I pressed buttons too quickly!). It says that I can cancel my subscription in “settings,” but I can’t find “settings.” Someone pls help me cancel this, I don’t want to pay $40 per month that is ridiculous.

Very natural sounding and. it handles punctuation quite well. The fact that it sounds so natural opens it up for many uses. Auto attendant , voicemail, informational msg, etc. This is definitely the type of app that deserves to be on my iPhone.

Paid User of an App That Won’t Load. So, after paying for the full registered version, the app will not even load now. Not a happy customer. Update: It’s now December 6, and I still have a paid for app that will not load. I have to suggest that everyone avoid this app. Update: Now December 18, and the supposed fix does nothing, so it’s time to try and get a refund.

Does what I needed. I have been ill and lost my voice. This app allowed me to communicate. Fortunately it is a womans voice, since I am a woman. Sometimes her nuances are funny but usually it's as it needs to be spoken. I could care less about politician voices and those add ons.

Voice good. Functionality not so much. Best voices of all text to speech that I've tried. Wish it didn't require a connection to retrieve voices. The app could use a voice speed control & the ability to edit saved text.

Great for listening to news. I copy articles into the app and listen to them on my commute in the car. Voices are best I've heard anywhere.

Great. Absolutely great! I have Internet connection, so my text is converted to speech every time. I haven't purchased any voices but I think I will. I loaded Robert frosts "stopping by the woods on a snowy evening" and it played it perfectly four times in a row.

Good but not great. This app would be infinitely better if had the ability ti shut off the iPad and listen. Like your music. Instead I have turn off auto lock or it stops talking. Also it seems t have problems processing large chunks of text.

I loved this app! It should still be 5 stars.... ...and I wish I had rated it sooner. Back when it WAS a five star app. The UK English female voice has changed and now sounds stilted and horrible where before it sounded to smooth and real. Whatever you did recently, undo it. Please. Just listening to a few saved clips and the voice was so lifelike and realistic. I copy and paste the same text into a new window and it’s horrible.

Spanish are poor. On the text to speak app here the cost is too high for the poor information on translation of English to Spanish, it sounds the came for instance the word “what” in English is what but sounds the same in Spanish or almost the same to be clear “que-pasa” in Spanish should be “what” in English disappointed on this text-to-speak app I bought and the translation is separate; it’s not informative don’t buy this app

What? I mean... come on.... Read this to find out if this app is "good" or "bad" before you get it: WORST APP EVER!!!! The sounds like, for example... Obama, sounds like a weird computer and they're suppost to be realistic. I wasted 99c on a piece of... well, here's what I'll call it, "The ULTRA-HIGHTECH-DUMB-THINGY-MABOBBER-THAT-DOES-F'n-NOTHING"!!!!!!!! I was very disappointed when Obama said in the app, "Lala hi" or something... but I put a period in between "Lala" and "hi", like this, "Lala. Hi" but he said, "Lala Hi"!! Hate it :( :( (P.S. Useful!. At my school this club I was in we had passes so we couldn't talk all day. It's 4 some antibullying thing. So I instead of writting everything down I told my friends 2 download this app!

Was very cool. The latest update removed the "speak" button, so you can type all you want but there is no way to have the program speak what you type (or copy & paste) into it. It was free so I cannot really complain much but come on.....was there no Quality check performed before releasing this App? Please fix it! The juvenile child within misses the British woman straining with embarrassment as she speaks what ever I type. But maybe I'm the only one doing this......

Excellent!! Buttttt Cannot export saved files.. The voices are the smoothest I've ever encountered in ANY text to speech software or app. Ever! I would have given it five stars...for its nearly perfect....but it needs to allow file exporting. I highly highly rev commend this. Beautiful. Great job!

Great as long as you don't purchase anything. The app speaks just fine but do not waste your money on extra voices! The languages are all just English pronounced with different accents. You would be wasting your money on that! I just give it 1 star because I am mad that they trick you into buying a cheep product. I AM going to try to contact the makers.
