Bug fixes and improvements
I have been using this app for years and have loved it. However a recent iOS update or app update has rendered the application unusable if my phone is being charged. It will work if the phone is unplugged. I contacted technical support and their response is that I will have to use the application while the phone is unplugged OR have a backup alarm if you need to charge your phone at night.
I have used this wonderful app since early 2016. I now cannot use it due to my $120 wireless charger or even my cheaper wireless charger at that. This is a revolutionary company making great strides into the future of health, so why are they telling me the only solution to make the app actually work is to step back from the future and stop using my wireless charger. This is an unrealistic expectation for a customer. When using the wireless charger I wake up in the morning with the app notifying me that it has canceled its analysis. I was told it was due to the wireless chargers subtle, not heard unless I lay my head on the charger it’s self, humming noise disruption. I understand that that can cause an issue. But I’m at a complete loose of hope here. Is the only solution to not use my iPhone to its fullest and glorious potential? I hope not. 😞 Please fix this. Please.
This app can’t tell the difference between a “snore” and a waves crashing on a sound machine which makes this unreliable as far as the sound detection. I know this because I have listened to the recording, not to mention I sleep with a CPAP Machine.
I’m a fan of the sleep cycle app but just wanted to make a suggestion- how cool it would be to have the option of syncing my sleep schedule with my google calendar
The app is great. I love the analysis of my sleep, and it’s great to know when I was asleep in addition to when I was in bed. The default sounds, however, do not wake me up. I sleep right through my alarm. My roommate has a relatively loud fan going in our room to help him sleep, so the soft sounds of this app don’t wake me up at all. All I need is the “Regular Alarm Sound” option so I can hear my alarm over my roommate’s fan, which is not something I’m willing to pay $14.99 per year for.
I thought I liked this app but lately for some reason the alarm has been going off at like 3 am instead of my set time!
It isn’t an annoying alarm, which I like! The only reason I gave it 3/5 stars is because it’s so easy to snooze. All you have to do is move your phone and it snoozes. Now if I had my phone out of reach the alarm I wouldn’t be able to snooze it, but that’s not realistic because this actually monitors your movements throughout the night.
I love using this app to sleep. It works perfectly, and I wake up feeling rested and alert. But I am on call, and need to hear notifications from outside the app. Only after missing important notifications for work did I realize what was happening. When I start sleep analysis the app somehow blocks out all other notifications. I tried turning on the ringer and adding the loudest ringtone, but it just blocks it. I am regretful to say I will be leaving this app and using conventional alarms until this issue is solved, and I urge anyone else who needs to be able to hear important notifications to do the same. I will be eagerly awaiting the update in which this issue is solved, which I hope is very soon.
UpGrade d from 8+ to XR ok but display doesn’t stay on... goes off on 30 sec.
Pretty cool. I’m slowly learning this app. I have sleep problems, so every little bit helps! Thanks
I have used this app for half a year. I really like it. Efficient sleep in shorter hours is one of my interest. It supports me to manage sleep. Although the accuracy is something I concern about this app. There were night i constantly waking up for some reason . Yet the app doesn’t reflect that actually woke up. Beside it still show a high percentage quality sleep while that night is definitely a rough night. My heart beats constantly stay at 50 as it shown everytime. This is also questionable. If you turn on the shows the weather mode. Sometime it shows sunny when I wake up at 4:00 AM for work. So I think they need to put a lot of work in managing accuracy. Thanks
I haven’t been able to sleep for weeks now. Why? Who knows? Though I’d try this app. After the five days it gave my first night a 93% rating of quality sleep. The second night 100% the third 100%. Fourth 79% and fifth 61%. I can tell you now I didn’t sleep a wink on any of those nights!!!!! So how does this app calculate Quality sleep? let alone calculate anything? I believe the only thing it calculates is the amount of hours you spend in bed and then estimates the rest. I spent a considerable amount of time in bed the first 3 nights and much less the last 2. Just laying there! Ridiculous APP!
I went straight for the paid app and cannot find how to set up and use the program from within it!! The concept is interesting however a “how to” guide should be easy to find!
For no reason I am able to identify, the app has started ending a session after about 20 minutes to an hour leaving me with useless data and no alarm around when I should wake. I know that the only thing I can do is to delete and re-install but then am penalised by not paying an extra $19.99 per year to be able to backup the data. I already lost years upon years of data when the app last had trouble and required reinstallation. This app used to be great but in the last year or so has become increasingly buggy and the fact that the data cannot be backed up to iCloud storage is disappointing.
Best time ever x
This app is great as it tracks your sleep patterns and gives you a graph of when you get quality sleep and when you are disturbed. It is great if your treating a sleep condition or dealing with pain so you can better explain your problem to the doctor. Thanks for a great app.
It’s easy and simple to use
I never write reviews but this app really works well. I used to use a regular alarm and would often be drowsy throughout the day at work. Since using the app waking up has been much easier and the need to doze of again has been alleviated greatly. I recommend give this app a shot it you are in a similar situation.
I’ve been using sleep cycle since it’s inception and it’s great. I have always woken up feeling fresh when using the app. Definitely an app to use
The tool is good for helping understand your sleep patterns and how to improve them. I wonder if there are other relevant factors that could be correlated for sleep management such as heart rate, BMI (for snoring related to weight) or if you were feeling ill, up with dependents, uncomfortable temperature, etc?
It’s a great app but sometimes it doesn’t work great but in the end it’s a great app!!?😊😊 I’ve been getting better sleep too
Don’t misunderstand me, is an amazing alarm, I love it! BUT, if you need to use your phone for anything during the night (such lantern for example) if you click to light up so you can unlock or start the lantern, it will go crazy! Is going to take a minute for the screen to hold illuminated so you can actually turn the lantern on. This morning, it would not turn the alarm off with the simple side click as usual. I das to grab the phone and unlock it to turn it off, and it was extremely laid by the time it happened. Maybe if they fix that, I would consider getting the paid version. Update: since my last review, it’s getting worse and worse. Now every night this app freeze my phone, and last night, from nowhere, it turned on my light and didn’t want to turn it off, it took nearly two hours for it to work. I’m deleting this immediately! I rather deal with Alexa waking me up than this app freezing my phone all the time!
Even with the Watch app, you still have to sleep with the phone in your bed. And here I was thinking there was an accelerometer in the watch. It’s good at what it does, but now there are other sleep apps that don’t require that you sleep with your phone if you’re using the watch.
The first night was a little rough knowing it was tracking movement I made. The second night, I slept quite well. I wanted to wake up with a good nights sleep and be able to track it on the app. Works great and I find I am able to wake up more gently than my previous alarm.
Easy to use and insightful.
I’ve used this app for a while now and recently purchased bluetooth headphones to listen to music before sleeping. Unfortunately, it appears to disconnect my bluetooth for sound tracking which was noted as an issue OVER A YEAR AGO with no improvement.
I typically avoid paying a subscription fee for something I can get elsewhere, but the concept sounded too good to be true. This alarm is life changing for a night owl like me. My 3 favorite features: 1) I no longer have to find a snooze button, I just tap the phone (which almost always happens with my eyes closed and “guesstimating” where it is), 2) No more obnoxious wake up. Music starts out softly and builds. It gets louder gradually 3) the shortened intervals on the snooze as time passes. Hands down best alarm ap, and I tried a few.
App promises to track sleep correctly even with a snoring spouse but it doesn’t - it tracks my husband sleep cycle. King size bed and he is still mostly on my tracker. I also hate being awaken 30 min before I have to get up so I set up for 10 min wake up alarm and I know get 10 min before alarm hue light comes on. I still use app but I can’t stand advertisement that app tracks your sleep but it really doesn’t if you have someone else in your bed snoring.
This app has changed my life! No joke. I used to be so tired with my regular phone alarm clock that gave me a heart attack when I woke up. This app the equivilant of having your mom massage your head while you wake up. I feel so relaxed when I wake up and have alot of energy throughout the day. As a college student, getting good sleep is very important and this app has helped me alot!! Thise who helped create this app deserve these 5 stars! You guys did a great job. Cheers!
The sleep aid is the biggest reason to have this app but it does not work with my Bluetooth SleepPhones. Even though the headphones are paired - you can see the icon when you open the app once you turn the app on for the night - engaging the app with the sleep aid on disconnects the headphones and the sleep aid plays only through the speakers which defeats the whole purpose of having headphones when a partner does not want to hear the sleep aid. BT headphones were supposed to be my solution to the god forsaken cord which had become increasingly annoying and won’t work with newer phones without a headphone jack. Don’t know if this is a bug in the latest update or has always been there as my BT headphones are new but this needs to be fixed. One star until this feature works correctly with BT headphones.
Apps such as podcasts do not interact well with this app and prevent it from working. This is very frustrating if you listen to podcasts when falling asleep.
I have been using your amazing app for over a year now and I absolutely love it. I love the alarm clock feature which help me to get up on time. I have currently been using the free version for the last year and might consider to get premium this year. Ellen.G.M
This is is a really good app because it helped me sleep ALOT better and wake me up in time the one down side of it is I listen to rain on this app called " Rain Rain" and it does not allow me to listen to it while use the app thank you !
I set it up to wake me up at 6:30 to7:00 and it went off at 4 put it right beside me as well
Give me my money back!!!
All instructions followed for microphone detection to the letter but app failed to detect my waking up regularly during the night and reading or tossing and turning for up to three hours at a time.
If you not going to pay the full version don’t even bother to download the free version as it is ridiculously limited.
The app is great, especially when trying to understand your sleep patterns. However looking to cash in with an annual subscription just puts me immediately off.
Update: Thanks for the reply, Nora I do love the app, it is really handy. I can definitely say my mornings have improved. ............ Why do I have to keep the charger plugged in all night long every night? Does it not affect the battery of my iphone?
It’s a good alarm it’s music is nice and easy to wake up to but that’s really it don’t know how it really works but seems good 👍🏼
