* Our patented technology monitors your sleep movements using sound or vibration analysis.
* Sleep Cycle then finds the optimal time to wake you up during a 30 minute window that ends at your set alarm time.
* Recommended placement: Near the bed or on the floor.
As you sleep you go through different phases, ranging from deep sleep to light sleep. The phase you are in when your alarm goes off is critical for how tired you will feel when you wake up.
Since you move differently in bed during the different phases, Sleep Cycle can use the microphone or accelerometer in your iPhone to monitor your movements and determine which sleep phase you are in.
Sleep Cycle wakes you when you are in your lightest sleep phase.

Bug fixes and improvements
I have extreme insomnia and have been put on prescription sleep medicine. I wanted this app to track my sleep before the medication and at different dosage levels. I am able to take this in and show my doctor my progress. When you pay for it, it shows you your snoring habits and has recordings which is important for me because I am going to a sleep study. I was concerned that my husbands sleep would interfere with my own data but it is so smart that it knows the difference between him snoring and me snoring and him moving around vs me moving around! This is a must! I love that it has a time period where it reads when would be the best time to wake me up according to which part of sleep I am in!
I've used this for several years now and I love it! From the gentle way it wakes me to the logical way the snooze function works, it's earned its place on my top 10 used apps list.
Nice app and helpful 😍
So interesting to see how my body is working or not when sleeping.
SC was recommended to me. Tried it and found myself spending more time worrying about how my night would score than sleeping. Tried to cancel after 30 days and found that they had charged my card at 12:01am this morning. 0/10
On the whole, this is a very effective tool to help one get to sleep at night, track one’s sleep, and wake one up gently at the other end. However, it’s not always clear how the statistics work. In the air pressure graph, for example, nothing is marked on the x-axis, so it is impossible to tell what is being correlated with what. Also, it would be helpful if you could click on the tags / factors that influence your sleep and see all of the individual entries thus tagged (so if I clicked on “watched tv” I would be able to pull up all of the nights on which I watched tv before going to bed). I’d greatly appreciate an update with these features. Thank you!
Will automatically charge you $30 per month after first month. Quite a process to just cancel my "subscription" 1 day after downloading.
I'm unable to purchase any in-app purchases because when it asks for Touch ID it doesn't respond and seems to be the only way to subscribe. My Touch ID works fine otherwise so i don't know what the problem is. Thanks
This app really does work! I wake up feeling rested and not groggy - I love it!
After upgrading to an Apple Watch I stopped wearing a fitness band to track my sleep which I’ve always found interesting. I wanted this to continue and rediscovered sleep cycle. However I keep getting inconsistent and confusing results. It often says I’m awake when I remember sleeping the whole night through. I don’t know if it’s because I share a queen bed to myself and sleep in the middle of the bed I’m not sure if this is why my results are confusing but I’ve stopped using the app now
So I’ve been using this app for a while now and so far it had been fine but I woke up one morning to see a night that practically said I was awake the whole night, except for the fact that I only remember waking up once, very vaguely. That night I had decided to put the fan on because it was a bit warm so I thought that might have affected the results. Apparently I was awake since like 2am which is absolutely ridiculous because somehow I was awake for 5 whole hours in bed, but I remember waking up at the time I had set the alarm but I did not hear the alarm. I will admit when I woke up I felt exhausted for some unknown reason but I had never got results like this beforehand. This was only one night, however, but I am beginning to question its accuracy when a fan is on.
I love falling asleep to music playing through my Bluetooth speaker. Sleep cycle does now allow this. I understand it puts out the sleep tracking whilst the music is playing. But I usually set it to turn off after half hour or so. It would be nice if I at least had to option to do it. The app only lets me play through my iPhone speaker.
My only downside is you physically have to open it every night, for the alarms to work. Other than that the app is brilliant
But sometimes it says I’m asleep when I know I was awake.
Thanks Sleep cycle! I do see the value you bring even when I sleep!
I bought this app when you could pay a one time fee now you have pay what I paided for the app ONCE, Monthly?! Ridiculous. I don’t want cloud sharing.
Works well for me, great little app
It's accurate when I sleep on my own. However it constantly picks up on my partners and dogs movement. I have the snore recorder and it's always picking up on my partners snoring and my dog snoring.
I sleep for 5 hours at night usually, and the alarm for this works great. But if I use the app for when I sleep during the day for a couple hours, it brings all my statistics down. It says I got really poor quality of sleep. I wish you could have multiple sleep sessions in a day mapped out in one chart, rather than breaking it up.
Good app but they need to make one for the Apple Watch.
Does exactly what you want it to!
Habit forming, great analysis, compels me to sleep earlier
I love how I can wake up and not feel really tired in the morning
Interesting that I snore louder and more frequently when my husband is home. Monitoring helped me realize the importance of going to bed earlier.
Been using this app for years, however the iOS 11 upgrade seems to have broken it badly. The app just shuts off at some point and the alarm never goes off.
I used to love this app but the latest update introduced new songs that will not wake you up! This is a deal breaker and defeats the purpose of an alarm clock. There is currently no way to exclude songs from the random selection so you are playing Russian roulette with your morning. Better hope you didn't have an important flight that day! This only applies if you're using Random Song as a wake up method. It can be fixed my either using a specific alarm, which gets boring, or by this company introducing a fix. They can either remove those songs or give the ability to exclude songs from the random shuffle. Unfortunately, in its current state, it is inferior to the previous version and so I can only give it 1 star. Please fix this issue if possible, the songs in question are Maple Beauty, Hideout Grove, Caribbean Cove.
I think I have found the perfect combination of alarm clocks. I always set Sleep Cycle to be my first alarm, and another app called SpinMe Alarm Clock as my backup. Sleep Cycle usually wakes me up in my optimal wake up time, but sometimes it just isn’t enough for me and I’ll either snooze through it or turn it off and go back to bed. If Sleep Cycle fails to wake me up, my backup alarm SpinMe will start blaring which can only be turned off if I get out of bed and spin around twice before it finally shuts off! Crazy but it works and I haven’t been late to work since I started doing this. And no you can't just spin the phone around in your hand! Sleep Cycle really does help in waking you up during your light sleep. I can feel it working most mornings. And I have studied the science behind sleep so I can attest that the premise of this app isn’t merely a placebo, but something that has actually been proven. However the problem that this alarm clock doesn’t solve is that sometimes (especially on nights where you get very little sleep), it can be really easy to ignore your alarm clock and really hard to wake up. That’s where SpinMe Alarm comes in, an alarm clock that is impossible to ignore and forces you awake. I highly recommend using these 2 alarms together. Best few dollars I’ve ever spent!
